"To see like these clip blue bush's like i feel like that. Was it for me. Yesterday won the election. But that was it for me by georgia winning the senate. That was it for me. Those things were big for the. Nfl gave me hope for this year. And it just works on federal government. In general i it just it just seems like things are better now. I e mails have a little bit more a little bit more. Hope in them is not like you. Not like i now. We don't have it in this budget. So a council. You know all these things like okay well. Let's hope we're shifting things around. So i don't know it was just a lot of hope for me and i was like that's cool especially since coming here. I was worried just like man. If this man win again. I'm gonna be in this state with him in. I don't know how that's gonna look. Yeah it was. It was a good thing. Could turn out for me for sure. I'm happy love speech. Speech e really good speech. I wasn't excited to be that good. The girl yellow gave a speech. The girling yellow gave a bomb ass speech. I just And i didn't know that fat. Nick gas country secret saying so. Well his. shoot that motherfucker. Wrong what are we talking about. What are we cannot all back sing bro. His fattening garth sounded terrible. No he did nine. I loved it. I loved air narrowed. And the no music or tones gymnast. All enemy thing songs god. How dare you speak about ignored him. When it comes to sing my my whole thing about this election was biding his binding as us. The fact of Lack of conformity and transformed and transform that into a positive. He signed seventeen executive orders that he could have easily used to control the news narrative for three weeks. He could have led out three every week and wouldn't have had to make a press conference or anything like that. Everything could have been scripted but he let that all out in one day and he did that because he knows he's got his work cut out for him so he immediately wants to drive a narrative which is shits different and i liked that facts. W won't pay attention to that over the next couple of weeks of especially everyone in here. That knows more about political on policies and things like that if you do definitely drop into discord dropping in the tribe so we can all learn and gain from it as well but moving on last week. We covered the three chapters of the book. We've been reading called for a living. This is a good book. Could be greater. But i'm learning stuff from other people in from it as well. I'm talking about is how to treat trader like a business best times and strategies for trading a lot about risk management and ways to chew stocks. I in the next couple of chapters on the last three chapters chapter seven tonight. We're gonna cover that next week so make sure to read the next section of the book so we can finish it off strong and potentially another book so if you also know any other book resource we can do a course Let me know so we can start that next week because again we want to stay learning. This is the point of having a book club in the tribe but yeah mowing onto the lesson of the week so the lesson of the week this week we just don't do open qna. So i wanna use this opportunity to ask questions calvin. You're you're like at the beginning phase in terms of looking with thinker swimmer specifically so create. This space was just answer. A couple of questions prompted like five and just answer it or try to find the answer as a group. i again. This is most sitting in the background. Listening numbers eight all the knowledge transfer. And i'm doing so much in the background as well right now. Osa also conduct that I apologize contributing. But i will go forward. Clinton is and i had a call yesterday. actually Other brothers asked this question but i would like to get spectrum of opinions so a lot of people when it comes to options are most interested in learning about and take advantage of obsolete. Developing elegance is worth. Everybody seems to be talking apple amazon. Tesla surly big. And i wanted to know why is it is i know i will. Instead of buying one option risking it. All on one pitch and toss. I would like to try to employ your strategy this like you. I'd rather grab tin options. And once i get in the money on at this percentage. I'm going to get a little bit more than the money on four more a little bit more than one of another one another one that i sell my last one. Before ration- i really Scaled and scaffold my My profits as opposed to. I just bought one. They asked option though. Tesla i maybe one on it loss on it. But i didn't have the option to sail a some of my options as opposed to. I only have enough for one. Because it's so damn expensive. I wanted to know like where are those companies that we researching to find out. Yeah everybody not talking about them. But it's good to get options so your question is one of the first one being. Is it better to focus on. Put all your options contracts on one stock and your next question is where do people search for unknown or a breakout stocks. Potential breakouts with central breakouts. Posited that have options available to can. I can speak to the to the breakout stocks. Real quick for naming anyone who's telling you to invest in something they should be obligated to pay your way through. I think super important for people to be industry focused. I liked the evidence. So i look at dividend stocks at from an option perspective. Because we all know is called the dividend dump once they pay dividends their stock drops. And i by an option right there. I think you should practice With the the sink or swim method. A bigger swim has a great paper trading platform that lets you use the ten thousand dollars of invisible money to make those big time trades so you can see if it really works in real time but more importantly if before you go into any option trade you should be able to make a profitable amount on the swing trade of it because if you don't understand the swing trade then you won't really know how the option is going to play out for you. There's so many things that go. Into the option trading. I strictly rely on the greeks in time. And a lotta people. Don't look at those factors. They look at charts and scanners to dictate those things. But the greeks have been. Let me down yet. So is it when you talk about like you know. Trying to make a option trade. I think is so important to have fundamental base of what you wanna do and how you want to do. I know for a fact if i take a dividend option. I'm going to have to hold onto that option long enough that the next dividend payout is going to be close nearby. And we know if you're doing it. Simple forest split every three months. So am i willing to hold an option for three months. But if i know the charts don't lie then why not so. I think you've really comes down to that. Like i don't know if it's sort of answers your question but i think you should definitely i make money off of that stock in a swing trade before he try and play with an option and play now. She's under ten dollars isn't a isn't a like i would. I would al- almost recommend your. I should be a trait under thirty dollars. You'd be looking at spent a hundred and thirty six dollars for strike. Price of a decent amount s a great learning curve is one hundred thirty six dollars in not going to lose too much but it keeps you from falling into trope of seeing apple trades and being anxious a. Don't look at our apple in tests trays and get like agents. Don't ought to detroit. Be comfortable doesn't look for advance gave didn't they would that platform.

"Is a legal in Washington could run you a one hundred thirty six dollar fine Bellevue. Police officers set Tyler tells us they need those plates to enforce highway tolls and identify stolen cars, and I've actually seen vehicles where the person driving the vehicle has no front plate. And then they have a bike rack on the backs and they don't have a good to go pass. So essentially, what that person is doing is avoiding all tolls and all photo enforcement. He says, dealership should be mounting a front plate for free. If your new car is missing one. Let's see how the cars are doing on the roads right now. Tracy, Taylor has archival radio. Realtime traffic are still has not looking pretty for drivers on southbound. I five as we get closer to forty four th and Lynnwood. That's a wreck there. Let's taking four lanes. Are you ready for the lineup yet starts from Alder? Towards that scene. And what's worse is now northbound drivers are looking at it. So you're going to line up outside of the U district in heading out towards that scene as well. So again, real time if we're gonna go from Lynnwood into downtown, it's only gonna take you a minute longer. It's should be about thirty three minutes. Your drive from Seattle to Everett sitting at sixty two and this is going to continue to add up the longer this remains blocking. So again, it's happening southbound where four lanes are blocked. Northbound drivers are looking at it. Now, if we're headed over into the east side, you're going to find some slowing on northbound four zero five approaching five twenty and heading into parts of Kirkland. Southbound four zero five is still slammed outside of Bellevue and continuing into parts of Newcastle. I think we've got something going on closer to coal creek Parkway. If not forty four because that's a significant break in the backup and now I'm seeing it lineup starting in the northbound direction. So there might be something there blocking drivers are telling me about a crash that's on four zero five and I five out near Southcenter. That's causing quite the clog, especially on that southbound five commute outside of the Duwamish river curves. Traffic brought. To you by Fred Meyer, two times the fuel points at Fred Meyer, Thursday through Sunday. Get your coupon from the at Fred Meyer dot com. Limited time only restrictions apply. "Gives a nice target sell price at one hundred thirty six dollars and sixty two cents of unfortunately, Peggy, I think we might have mentioned this before is I'm very concerned with the business at there in the reason is they supply to Boeing and Airbus Airbus. And the problem is ninety five percent of those sales goes to those two companies seventy eight percent of their sales goes to Boeing alone. So if another company, and I think they do kind of like the shelling the mainframe, they do something with actually making the plane. I remember looking at them or helicopters and so forth. Interesting company if somebody were to come in and do the same thing better. They would be completely screwed because you have all of your revenue essentially going to two companies is Boeing and one thing you might be able to do to protect yourself a little bit to see if they have like a long term ten year contract with Boeing that. They're kind of locked in June FA Boeing's says sorry, they are paying billions of dollars. Okay, fine. But if there's no contract there's nothing there or like a one year contract or the contract coming up in a year or two that is a very very worrisome astray says, and you got that debt and with that dead if they lose that contract. I would bet you this to go bankrupt. So just too much risk that we see potentially. They're all right. Okay. I've got a good profit. And I might think about selling it. I think that'd be good idea. You're welcome pay Bye-bye. All right that open the phone line one eight hundred seven zero k f m b that's one eight hundred seven six zero five three six to nine. Thanks so far too. Good companies with decent numbers here. But just kind of two different things that are that are kind of worrisome that we think about when buying businesses again, it just doesn't come down to looking at a number and saying, oh, let's buy it. Right. There's other factors that you have to kind of look at the major customer is a big one. I mean, just because the company's been with a supplier for a long time. Can we talk about Capital One Capital One? Yeah. I was gonna say away from synchrony with a WalMart for what thirty years twenty one and twenty thirty years longtime, John and then Capital One came in took it from synchrony nice thing for her name. Was it wasn't ninety seven or seventy eight percent of the revenue. So it hurt. But it didn't kill them. Now. And just shows that you can't have things locked in. I mean, you can have a great relationship. I'm sure that signature is like shot that WalMart says no we're going to Capital One. But. Any business? There's always competition their own you have so much of a concentration of anyone company. That's dangerous. Because what do you say seventy percent with Boeing seventy percent? Yeah. I would be surprised we're Boeing say just by that company. Yeah. But you gotta be careful. But this is why we spend so much time lead companies and people saying, oh, there's so many things out there. We look at thousands of companies. I think over years timeframe, and we only pull out a few because if we find one thing wrong with that company. I don't care what don't care. It's a dead. I don't care. It's the one customer cashflow something we'll say, no, let's find a could company that's pure and clean without any problems. Why why make excuses for a company by exactly and like I said that I mean, we're not buying hundreds two hundred companies we're buying again fifteen maybe twenty companies in the portfolio, depending on timing and so forth. But the thing is it's like if you start to buy all these different businesses you start to kind of lose control and so forth with us. Again. We understand all the businesses that we own and we're very selective because Flynn I have fifteen companies in the portfolio. Well, there's a lot of other businesses out there. And it's always funny. Oh, I told you this was going to be a great company. Just because you know, if somebody says, oh, what do you think this one it looks? Okay. And then five years down the road. I told you we're not going to be right on every single business. That's out there. And there will be one. And again, we won't take the risk of that. You don't risk is once it comes sort of like, okay? Yeah. So so it made it, but we just don't take that risk. And the other thing too. Is that we are laundromat. Doesn't mean we're gonna be right like over the next month or two or three months. I mean, it can take us to three years to be right? But again, we're very cautious. What we'd do when it comes out investing as investors should be. And this is why people say all the stock market so risky once because you you take foolish risks. And sometimes even though the risk taken. I'm sure a lot of people that were that company that they don't look at what the the the contracts. They have other businesses that the over-concentrated these other businesses, and and then they they lose. Well, oil stocks are risky. No. You didn't do your homework. All right. So let's go and take a break here. When we come back. We got all lines open one eight hundred seven six.

Let's take all those monies from the four zero five toll lanes, which were arguably I say, I say objectively illegal, but now, let's take all those monies and pour them into the general slush fund. Yeah. I mean, it's it's a movement on the Bill it's going that's probably what's going to well, at least to some degree standard its way, it probably is going to move through pretty effectively. I would I would guess. I I like the fact that he cleaned up the language because language did actually create legal problems for the original tolling. I think you're correct about that the money going into the into the general fund is going to be problematic. I think some democratic Democrats too because they would like to see, and there's always been I think anytime you're raising a toll or raising a fee or applying a tax of some sort having a nexus between bad, and what it funds as generally been, you know, with the exception of say an income tax generally been the the traditional form. Yeah. But you can see them getting aroused if you've ever talked to legislator about the fact that the toll money can be used for the general fund because it avoids the constitution. I think it's the twenty fifth amendment in our state. You could watch some of the legislators become physically aroused, as they think about the fact that they could be unrestrained in that spending stuffing, I want to watch. Candy. Man, if I can survive the show, Mike the other thing about this is and I'm curious about your opinion on this. I don't by the way, I don't toss questions your way to try to box you and you too smart for that. So I just question how do you deal with the notion because I think this is a brutal reality that tolls. Like this. They for for a state that likes to talk about being so called progressive. There's no more regressive tax in my opinion than charging money to someone to get to work. Well, I mean that applies to gas Texas too, right? I mean, it applies to any tax that affects your ability to move yourself from your home to your job from your job to the school. Where your kids are whatever. So how do I feel about that? I think that there are tolls. That absolutely are in place. I like tolls that encourage people to use mass transit, I don't like tolls that are that are exclusively regressive in what you do. Then is you do things at a lot of to. In fact, this happens in King County, you have subsidized or if it cards you do things that actually allow people to put a little bit of that money back in if they're below a certain income threshold. Yeah. So I guess I look. The four or five toll lanes there the rich person's lane. I mean, there are some people could afford to drive in and I guess I could afford to. I just never will pay. There's there's people who can afford to be finding them or or who will stories in the stranger, which is actually what's the story about tot Herman in the stranger. What's the stranger? Does. He not know this. What is what's that? It's a local it's a local weekly newspaper. Oh, this long and the slog is one of the most popular I of the funny thing is talking to folks in city hall the other day and ask them, what do they read? I and a lot of them say they read this lot. I because it's funny and irreverent at you've got. And normally this log a small items, you got full billing on your on your on your credible number of traffic tickets for nonpaying of tolls. I thought they actually did kind of a funny job with it. Oh, wow. Off to check that out. Is that like something you pick up at the grocery store? So. Yeah. Well, speaking of that Rick Johnson, Washington state trooper like Merck Johnson. Explaining that. He wants to see the violation fines for people who drive in the HOV lanes are like me 'cause I driving them solo because they're not legally, they're not legally employed and have beaten them in court. So I continue to do that. He explains why one hundred and thirty six dollars per violation of penalty isn't stiffness some people just view it as the cost of doing business. It's their time is more worth more than one hundred thirty six dollars, a fraction and their thing. Okay. So if I in fact, this NFL get a couple of years, you know, I'm good. I'm gonna just keep using that and commuting and cutting my my commute Taylor. I feel bad is when the officer has to pull you over it's a safety issue. So that bugs me, and I don't like I don't like having the officers on the side of the road because I this nightmare simulator. I don't like taking away from important things. But that's not how I view it. The federal government gave the state of waiver. They said you can limit access to this government property so long as those limits to access increase the overall fuel. Agency of the lane or the efficacy of travel when I drive drove around with my daughter when she was an infant she did neither and I succeeded in an appeals court in beating HOV lane tickets. I'd just like to see him enforce the law legally. That's all I'm a crusader. If you think about it. You know what I am? I'm a transit advocate. I'm a transportation advocate. Go ahead. Sit here and let you finish that planning to do. Okay. Let me explain it k-. The I I am I advocate for the full movement of people in a legal sense. Just just employ the law legally, that's all just just right? I get what you're I get where you're going out here. You don't actually advocate for that. Because you oppose virtually anything involving rail is by boobs people in illegal. There's nothing illegal about trains, which you referred to as what? Well, shoot you train. All right, there you go ahead. What how do you refer to bicycles as bicycle there you go? So. Yeah. Well, there's nothing you're not. You're not an advocate for all transit. You're an advocate for Todd's transit nothing illegal about trains it sound transit bowl. But we gotta move on. Yeah. Let's see. This is how it ends up feel like we trap one another. No one wants to give up a think back into that. There's a new poll out that says that Seattle voters disapprove of the city council, but a line politically, I think this is an issue feeling so Mike, and I will maybe dig into this with our softer sides, Tracy Taylor now having had a good robust and a half hours of sleep per. So we'll check traffic for us. All right. So we got a couple of things that are going on right now reports of an accident, and this is.

"Show. Hi, dave. Thank you for taking my call to India. Sir. What's up? Well, recently got married a couple of years ago. We are looking to figure out whether or not pay down my house or my wife house, and we also have some equity that was gifted to me when I purchased my home that I'm actually kind of paying my father back partic- home from my father the interest rate that I'm getting on the mortgage. So we're we've I've I've been on the program for about two years. Everything's paid all and we I worked for the government. My wife's a teacher. So we're already putting ten to fifteen percent of our income into our of for myself. I actually am I went to the government version of financial peace university. So where are you talking about the TSP? Oh, I haven't my job. My wife has a four zero three d funny thing is I'm actually one of the coordinators for. For for that. So you're working maybe four five and six you got your retirement going, you're debt free. You have your emergency fund in place. You have a house that you live in and you'll have a I guess rental houses the second house that one of you used to live in is that correct, correct? In his the other house rented, it's her her brothers living there. He's living there by himself. He's paying us ultimately after the mortgage and the association fees and the taxes are paid. We're actually losing about one hundred thirty six dollars a month on the house. You're subsidizing her brother. Well, it's not that we're subsidizing him. I would just rather. At least this was the mindset was that. I would rather have him there, and we get some tax benefit from the house. So I assume that the one hundred thirty six dollars a month that we're moving we're actually getting back at the end of the year to at least break, even or maybe still make some money on on the home. Stay break even. All right. So you got this is that her house or your house? I bet it's her since her brother living there. Correct. Okay. If you didn't own that house. She wouldn't go by that house and call tax benefits subsidizing brother a good plan. Yeah. We're actually up send out on the house. She bought it for to ten probably worth about one seventy one eighty. Okay. Well, we'll probably hold it and break even to get a KOMO up in value. What your household income? Between the two of us about one between one eighty two hundred because your question is what to pay off I or what? Yeah. Well, I also have. So when I've purchased the house from we we bought the house that we live in now in two thousand three I I had the the monies to put down on the house, but I didn't I wasn't able to show income. So the house was actually purchase. My father's name. Once if I had developed the income to be able to get the loan the mortgage in my name, and before I was getting married I had purchased a home from my dad now for me to have that mortgage and not pay PM. I there had to be a certain amount of equity which I didn't have in cash at the time. So my father, essentially, gifted me, so what's your question? The question is do I pay back the the the money to my father because I'm paying him? I'm saying him, the sure. If a second mortgage on your house to your dad, you're gonna stay in the house paid off as best as you can. Absolutely. And then you pay off the first mortgage, and then hopefully by then that rental will of come up to its worth at least what you owe on it, and you can get rid of it and get rid of brother out of the house. Yeah. I would not only rental property that I break even on dude. It's not my goal. I'd sell that rental property as soon as brother could move if you weren't forty thousand dollars upside down, but you're forty thousand dollars upside down, so we'll wait on that market to recover a little bit..
