He had a cat scan. It was found to have a cancer in the throat. One of the biggest hospitals in New York area. "I don't have to start myself after this. I think is going to be a huge benefit fighting somebody like RDA, it don't matter. I'm showing up on my eight game and not. Don't have to fight the scale before. So in up against him is definitely going to be something. Big for this fight for me is just about getting back to my true, natural fighting style in. It's it's about going out there and showing a best my best performance in kind of putting my last one on one sixty five does that ever happen. I know what Dana says publicly, but does he give you guys any maybe even glimmer of hope behind the scenes, he don't, but I don't give a damn, you know, I'm gonna do. He don't really get to make the rules that you know. I kinda anybody who kind of know me kind of no follow them all rose. A lot of people trying to tell me what to do here and there, and I just kind of go in winning. You're not the other. So even win he's talking about one sixty five my my ideas, still a show up on five week. I'm gonna be prepared to make one sixty five. I'm ex RDA if he's prepared to make it I know he's a big guy. But you know, we might come to a little back room kinda handshake deal on it. If we can make that happen and show that that's where our best come out of where we compete the best at one hundred sixty five pounds if we can make that happen in the back room. I don't see why we can't you know, why we gotta wait on them. I think it's stupid that they even are. I think everybody kind of sees the same thing. It doesn't make sense that they're that. They're kind of wishy washy on it. It makes most sense to add one sixty five pound division. The only reason why they don't is. Because it creates more work for them. It creates more work for eight match. Acres and you put in the work over our health and safety and the longevity at a sport in, you know, to me as it doesn't make sense. And if it don't make sense than in ancient, I think that's very fair. I don't think that could be better said. All right, Kevin. You've got anything else. You wanna get off your chest. I ain't got nothing Mishaan away from the media, and I've been having Manos right to the grinder. I'm getting back to the to me. You know, the old me the Yuna Heidi is coming up and he's wrestling days where nobody give a damn about. You don't give them about who you are what you doing or in. That's what I kind of want to get back to it. And I'm going out there may eighteen he on no end. I'm putting my nose grinder. And I'm I'm gonna get this work done. I can't we'll be watching. I will be cheering. I do not hide my bias nece on team. Kevin Lee, ma'am, best of luck. And I look forward to covering it. When you're done momma to always. All right. Kevin lee. Simply simply the best interview in sports, and I must tell you, by the way, I reached out to him at the last minute to Kevin can you come? On the show. "Same time. Avoid making customers feel fat. Shame. So they've created these pressurized pads at self-service backdrops or during full body scans. And they could tell how much a passenger ways without everybody around them seeing the weight and just like they do with facial recognition technology. These pads will confidentially send data to the airlines just for the purpose of fuel economy. Because right now, how airlines are gauging how much fuel to have. On on an airplane is by estimating each male passenger weighs about two hundred five pounds, any female passenger one hundred sixty five pounds, and what happens is they generally end up carrying more fuel than they need. And so this companies like, hey will create these pads, you way, everybody you'll know exactly how much weight is on this flight, and then you can have how much gas you need for it. And you can also distribute the passengers evenly left side right side, if you know how much everybody ways. So would you be cool? You're shaking your head. -lutely not. No, absolutely not. Because that's what they say. They say it's for fuel economy. But who knows what they're actually going to do with that information? But also like for somebody who is like, let's say, they're, you know, they're a little bit heavier than what they what they want in that category. Are they gonna go up to him and say, I'm sorry. But you're going to have to move over here to the right? Isn't that kind of discriminating and shaming it? Yeah. I mean, it would be potentially very very embarrassing for somebody except they do that. Now as far as moving people left to the right? I've been on flights where they've said on you know, what we need a few more bodies on the right side of the plane before we take off any volunteers and people raise their hands. It's not like they say you, and you and you have to move. They generally explain we need some more bodies on this side and people raise their hand. Look, I'm coming place of I don't care if you wait me. I don't care if you have to draw my blood just get me to where I need to go safely such an anxious flyer. Anyway, like, I don't care. I really do. Don't care, and I and if it's discreet, whatever, you know, nobody else around me needs to know any to drop twenty pounds. Right. Well, how do you feel about it? I mean, would you be willing to get on an airplane or have them way? You I should say before getting on an airplane. You can text us three seven three three seven text wash. Yes. Did you do whether it was state or nationals? How many times was a two week? Wait, probably never you qualify for the NC double A's. I mean, they think I don't think I think it was the next week. When you oh is that, right? I could be wrong. Somebody smart me up. But it hadn't it hadn't been going on forever. It started going on when ESPN was starting to figure out. Hey, we're going to cover this. How are we going to fit this in? So it's it it's it's not rare to the guys that are rustling now. But but I believe if you wrestled in it three times. Correct. I believe you would only had one two week break. So to qualify for a tournament to be geared up to be trained up for that tournament. If people don't understand that very much like a fight camp. "Had four point points in fourth straight game seven of the last eight for Rockford he got recalled just in time for this trip. He watched the northeastern program he helped win the bean pot with a year ago repeat the feat last night in Boston. And Troy Jeremy called that last stint up with the hawks a positive one for secure was sent back mostly due to roster numbers. Did you see the same? And what's going to keep them up here for good ahead of a summer in which you know, he's still going to need to build up some strength in that body is only one hundred sixty five pounds. So there's definite room for eight awesome size from Dylan secure in the off season. He's got to put on a little bit more await just that the way it is in the NHL. I think for Jeremy Cole was talking about talking about secure and having this opportunity again, he's and as you mentioned he liked what he saw from last time. You know, he's an offensive player. He's not a checker. He's not a grinder. He's offense some type of player and in the sixteen games that he's played in the NHL has yet to find the back of the net. He's got to produce. Offensively. And if you know if he's out there in a in a situation where he's playing a little bit more of a defensive role. He has to be very reliable in that area. That's not a specialty. He's an offensive type of player. You look at his numbers down in Rockford. Getting some good results down at that level. Now, he's got to make that adjustment to coming. Here players are bigger stronger faster. So he's got to continue was progression of in the right direction. And Jerry was talking about, you know, hopefully, this is the time that he comes up here at does enough that we make a decision because he's just a, you know, play into well, it can't be sent back down. So that's what everybody's hoping for Dylan secure. He's got a good attitude. You know, he didn't put when he went down to the minors. He's working hard on on the things that he feels he needs to work out to be a better pro at this level. So.

"That I remember being in Calgary once and I was staying at an Airbnb and the person that was interviewing me said I realized that you've been giving into dating. Would you ever date somebody that was obese? And I said there is I definitely I said I'm looking more for the person than what they actually looked like physically I actually want somebody. That's a caring and kind person I want somebody that is looking to have a serious relationship. And they said, but what about the exercise came part of it when you want somebody that would go biking with you. And I said, yes, but still doesn't preclude me from going with somebody that is overweight, if there's somebody that's overweight that wants to go biking went me. Then that's fantastic. So I think that there was no limit there. In terms of what I was looking for on the outside. And that's kind of funny because I started thinking about that in terms of where I was and how many people would say, hey, I would want to go with somebody. Who might be a little overweight, but somebody that actually wants to be a doors somebody who wants to go for hikes somebody that wants to go on a bike ride. So if that's okay for me, probably okay for somebody else. So do I need to be one hundred sixty five pounds. Do I need to have the rock? Rock-solid apps. I don't think so to be in have a happy life. So I started thinking about what it looked like for somebody looking at me. But also for what it was for me looking at somebody else. Yeah. And it seems like based on what you described yourself as prior to losing weight a lot of the weight loss gave you as you like to say the opportunity to probably be more willing to speak out to get involved where you were a little bit more introverted, right? And not wanting to do those things or prices gave you that confidence boost to put you in the arena so to speak. Exactly, it definitely gave me confidence in all aspects of my life. I've been doing public speaking I've been able to coordinate meetings. I know have a team at work that is fourteen people and giving me the competence to be with other people in a social setting. So not just the weight loss of being able to be able to go to a. Restaurant and walk around. This gives me the ability to actually go out and put myself you end up position of hey, I could possibly fail here. I might actually make a full myself here. But that's okay because I learnt from this situation. So the confidence that I gained through the weight loss in to the whole process of losing the weight that also gave me the opportunity to go and find out what I needed in my life as you were sharing all that. I wrote something down because I know we talked a little bit Yanni freed off and about the idea of like, what are the least amount of calories you're willing to eat and enjoy your life. What is the most amount of fitness? You're willing to do and still enjoy your life. And it sounds like if we were to maybe add to something on based on the conversation you and I are having today. It would be less about the number right? Getting to that number goal. But more about the addition of happiness into your life. So looking for the area of your life that you would like to see improved happiness, whether it's more friendships, whether it's. It's a romantic relationship. Whatever that is and really becoming less obsessed with hitting a certain number, but really looking at having all of those buckets balanced out to where you're not trying to just hit one number. You're trying to actually fulfil all those buckets. It's sad to see. So many people are so upset during the day of step on the scale today up two pounds. And I'm just feeling so awful about myself. But go to something that makes you happy. It shouldn't be the end be. And it was for me for a long time is that if I was up to date was going to be crappy. If you want to find something that is going to make you happy in your life. You have to go out and try new things and see what you can do..

"And maintaining your weight loss cannot be your number one priority every single day because things happen. I know people that have put weight back on it's not because they forgot that cupcakes. Calories. They had a death in the family or they had a relationship that broke up. There's so many things that can happen in life. And it can't be your number one priority. But for my wife, and I there's been compromises on both sides. She's not used to having a meal plan at all she would just fly by the seat of her pants. And if she was feeling like having noodles for dinner. She would have noodles for dinner. That's just whatever was available in the refrigerator. I remember my first time coming over here for dinner. I said this soup is absolutely wonderful. What's in it? And she said, this is whatever was left in the fridge soup. That's how she plies. But now now we have a meal plan, and she's like, I don't like having Neil plan. But I'm willing to adjust to that. So now if I may go Camille plan we sit down on Friday. We figure out what groceries were missing I will vote on Saturday and get the groceries and then Sunday we worked together making the meals she's had to compromise I've compromised, so you find ways of working beasts exhort. I so love this. Because what I hear is is kind of like if you were a character in a story. There's been an arc right? So we went from a place of extreme loneliness thinking weight loss was gonna make us happy getting to the top of the mountain realizing. Oh crud. Not as happy as I thought. I would be definitely better off. But not where I wanted to be a willingness to compromise and change possibly not have wait stay as regimented as once was thought needed to happen, right? And giving and taking and so would you say at the place, you are now because one of the things I know I've mentioned to you. It was even on a recent thing on we had on Facebook was this I d of best wait, and we've talked about the doctor Yanni freed offs idea of putting in your best effort, and how that looks different at different points in your life. Like, your best before you have kids isn't gonna look the best as when you had kids right in these different variations of places in your life. So at this point when you think of your best, wait and doing what it is that you're doing and living your best life. How does that look different from where you were at the beginning of this? When I initially declared that I hit goal I was down near one hundred sixty five pounds. And I said there we go. This is what my doctor wants me to be at one sixty five as actually five pounds less than what he wanted to give me a little bit of leeway. But that one sixty five was just so hard to maintain. And that was very unhappy light of feeling hungry at times over exercising and didn't leave me a whole lot of time to do things that were fun just going owed and being with friends sitting down to a video game to something that I wanted to do for myself. I just couldn't do that. But, you know, at least I was maintaining you 165 sixty five it wasn't a fun life. But I couldn't do that forever. So I immediately said, okay, I'm going to try and let give myself a little bit of slack here. And over the years, I have said, okay. This is what I can maintain happily. And I think that's what Dr Friedhof covers a lot is that where can you live happily because if you cannot live at life that is happy you're not going to keep it up a lot of people get stuck in that. I'm not happy what I'm doing. Therefore, I'm going to stop doing it altogether. That's isn't the way to go either. Because then you just fall back into complete bad habits and my case here..

"I was like I think that's the only real. I really think that's the only obstacle to success in everyone. I know either you internalize or you externalize. And if you externalize God help you and whoever you live with sorry, Jordan harbinger. Of course, one thing that I I will say about this a lot of people will go. You know, I'm fine. I'm gonna choose the happiness version where I'm the king of the nerds of the king of the losers or whatever we phrase it as but we also find that this is. Kick yearly depressing. So you're welcome everybody. There's their network effects of bad habits. And and what this means is if I'm hanging out with atoms and in and Brian Gina in the you guys one of you guys has a roommate and his friends, the roommate's friends are overweight, and they all smoke, and they all have all these issues that network effect is and they're still trying to figure out the exact cause -ation here. We will actually have unhealthier habits on average based on friend of friend connections, which is really kind of depressing because who doesn't know somebody that they hang out with it also has kinda bummed friends, and that's really tough people's negative habits affect us. Somehow the thing that's funny. They'll tyrod into this. Nice. Like, I love a baked potato all guys. It's coming around ties around when I'm going to Morton's, I always get the huge a huge baked potato. And then they just baked. They know they come in slop on all the sour. So my normal move if I'm there with anybody. But Kevin Han. Anybody? But Kevin Hench. I love it. When you get the meat, and you start cutting meat, and there's a little blood and the Jews whenever then you take a chunk of the potato, and you sort of sop it up in the meet Jesus. A love it. But after Kevin Hinch tells the guide Morton's, take the onion basket bread thing that they bring in tables like hit the road within I will never order the potato in front of him. Hey, I know he ain't splitting it be. I know he ain't down with it. And I'm like sitting there thinking about it on the way in like, I'm. I'm I'm adult, man. I order potato. I'll tell him that. I can eat a potato because I haven't had potatoes and a wing. Here's what I'll tell you A whipping every. every justification. Wristband, and I'll have a bunch of potato uses on it. And then I think. Do without. And then we don't order the Patou never now Lynette or anybody else would for sure order potato and look forward to ordering steamed broccoli, please. Yes. Well, it's peer pressure. And he's the guy explaining me while I'm thinking about the potato he saying to me when I was twenty six one hundred sixty five pounds, and I benched to sixty five and that was pretty fucking good. And my goal for this year is to be able to bench to sixty five again. And I'm like what's that have to do with four cameras? Gabriel glacier and potato on your left. Yeah. I'm thinking what does that do with writing multi Cam sitcoms, and it doesn't but it does. Yeah. Everything is part of the overall making his that his goal. So I'm not gonna work potato from that guy. But if he Linda loser fee lit up a cigarette and said who. Who who wants some bring? I'd say how on both. Sorry, John now makes sense in sort of the analogy here is the guy whose wife is pregnant, right? And he's like, oh, I'm gaining weight. 'cause I'm eating with my wife, and my wife is eating all this of more than usual because she's pregnant the network effect is maybe it's your wife's friend who's pregnant. So when she hangs out with her she's eating a little more. And you're hanging out with your wife. And now you're eating a little more near like what's going on? You don't know or care that your wife's friend is pregnant and yet you're the one gaining weight. So the network effect is pretty insidious when it comes to this one. That's why it's such a potent force what we have to do to counteract all this is make sure pretty consistently indefinitely consciously that we're making sure we're being social or being around people that make us better and reinforce good habits. And actively limiting our time not necessarily cutting out of our lives because we don't choose friends based on their habits exclusively. But we've got to make sure we limit our time with. Friends who are reinforcing bad habits if you're spending every Friday with the guy who plays XBox his unemployed. Don't be surprised when the network effects rub off on you..

"I mean, I it was in the back of a head like the way that we just absolutely down in died in the second half. Basically the last thirty minutes against wolves last game. So to say that I didn't have any doubts like any questions in my mind at all would be wrong. Like, I was like are we going to do that again? But it was just it was clear that Spurs in the sixty fifth seventy th minute. When like they were still just stopping on cardis neck like it was like this is over. This is not the same thing. All over against those great see it was just good performance by Spurs. I was happy. I was happy watching soccer. I feel very easy week for us. Another game. We got. Right but wrong, while I'll say, I got right, but wrong, I said Everton LeicesteR was going to be a boring. Ask game. Yeah. Said it was gonna be one zero Everton ended up being one zero Lester as zero zero. We were. So we were both right pretty much this. There is not a lot of positives to come out of this. Except for the fact that Lester took three points to congressional Lester forgetting win. There's really not much to say about this game Everton was incredibly disappointing. Like, they have what the fuck, man. That's I feel like every like why why are you not better? I agree. I agree. But here's my take. I was robbed. The only thing. I wanted to see is nil nil. Drool-o Pereira played fucking left winger. Because Danny shitty s Simpson comes back and play right back. I mean prayer was fantastic. Don't get me wrong. But he was going to John Joe now I wanna see him go at leucopenia on that. So let's just move is. I was that was the start. I sleep in special almost I woke up in the fiftieth. Yeah. I slept in for the first. I'll bet your ass. I did we'll go up, and I almost tweeted like all right back to bed this pretty much. Yeah. Policies anybody who's actually will another week sank toe in another ball. I still have it in the drafts. Oh, thank not. What else have much more going on in the Chelsea Southampton game, which was zeros no acknowledging and moving on the thing is I had written down to the dyslexic signals move on. There's one thing I do want to say though, and it's not just like elver Maradas like a slightly cuter more high paid sink tocine. They're basically the same thing. What it actually want to say, though, is I was slightly impressed with hasn't huddle and Southampton because you know, they showed a flexibility in their strategy. They so I thought he was basically going to live and die by the press. And he did not in this game. I mean, he would have died. They had twenty eight percent of the ball. Yeah. They just like went into a shell. And granted he would've gotten. All right. I I would basically have shit on him had given up a goal which they almost did on about five different occasions, but their goalie stood on his head was it was a new guy. I can't I don't know gun. Yes. So they. Room in there. He had a great game is best. Save was when hazard hit him right in the face with a shot. But still I mean, he's still had a great game. Six four five one hundred sixty five pounds this guy put too so hit immigra-, my friend. Although I mean, that's basically what the HALE was when he came into the league. Hossan huddle. I was just impressed that he changed his strategy to fit the opponent, which I wasn't sure he's going to be able to do. And it's that's something. You've gotta do if you're not one of those big big six teams that can overpower. So I mean, sometimes you just gotta play to the situation at playing at Stanford bridge is absolutely one of those situations especially team in Chelsea that doesn't have a striker. We've been saying it all season. I think that he his strategy was a good one who worked and got a point from Chelsea on the road. That's that's nothing to sneeze at now. I fully agree with you there. My takeaway is that was fabric last game for Chelsea..

"But yeah, cool. Right that right. The way he's doing call outs in shit so top-five garner. That's weird. It is because there's only like a couple of guys who I look at it. Like it raises the guy like he's the next guy in a division. Everybody else is just kind of hanging around. I feel like Anthony Smith is going to get pushed into a title fight. And if he ends up fighting John Jones is gonna get murdered. So like I feel like like I like Anthony Smith, but the rate is better chance than Smith is what you're saying. Oh, absolutely doubted gray is is got all the tools like Anthony Smith has actually striker. But I feel like somebody like John Jones gets them on the ground. It's over. He has no idea what to do so ethics. We he's had a great run kind of like how ill Latifi had a great run and they'd just get halted. So I think it's smart if the US wants to put them in a title fight now to do that. But the rest of the division is shaking. Excel. Call us Condit versus Michael key. Esa fight in the first round second round kiss a quick submission here. And I mean, the only thing I took away from this fight is how the hell do Michael hokey lightweight. He was huge at welterweight yet, collectible fine fine. But I mean, Doug, he he cut fifteen pounds off of that frame. Like, he was huge. He looked huge against conduct. And again, this is why we need one hundred sixty five pounds at one hundred seventy five pounds. Yes,.

"And because he really feels as though he's a drag on party Kermit of fights with every inch of his life to keep his father alive. Kermit convinced the others that he could lead them through the gorge, they discarded more supplies and carried what remained over the steep hills. The dugouts were lower down the Rapids with ropes. It's four days for me. The hero of the exploration trip is Kermit Roosevelt. But they weren't out of the jungle yet clearly as they have less food, and it becomes more dangerous. They're living on half rations and just palm hearts. They're basically starving. Jeffrey Lehman during. His centennial expedition had plenty of food. He still lost a lot of weight. The exertion was similar to running a marathon every single day and over the twenty three days, I lost about twenty three pounds. Even with all that food. I was eating Roosevelt lost about a third of his body weight. He went from about two hundred twenty five pounds. If I remember correctly to about one hundred sixty five pounds, one of the comer autos named Julio was caught stealing food that enraged his supervisor who punched him in the face when the supervisor later accused him of laziness Julio grabbed a rifle and shot him. He lay in a huddle in a pool of his own blood where he had fallen shot through the hot. I feared that Julio had run a muck and intended to take more lives. Roosevelt, though, still severely ill helped place the body in a riverside grave. He was relieved to learn Julio had dropped the rifle during his escape as if there was any place to escape to three days later the murderer called out from the jungle asking to rejoin the group. He was ignored standing guard would be an additional and severe burden on the weary. Honest men already exhausted by overwork the expedition was in peril. Sent two men to look for Julio. But they couldn't find him. He apparently died in the wilderness. Nineteen of the original twenty two men were left struggling and wondering if they lived to tell the story at least half of them, including Kermit, battled fever, TR's, leg wound had been cleaned and lanced, but was still badly infected. He was giving some of his food to the hardworking Colorado's though, he desperately needed it for himself on April fifteenth, the expedition finally caught a break and they've find this rubber shack. And after all these days, they realize they've mitt civilization again, and they're able to get food and medical supplies, and basically get into the the main part of the Amazon it it's ver- Accurist that they survive this trip one of the locals pedaled closer and couldn't believe that the frail man in the canoe had been president of the United States when the fifty five year old Roosevelt arrived home in may Americans were shocked by his. His weight loss. Futile Roosevelt died. Five years later in nineteen nineteen did the river of doubts shorten his life. Absolutely. Because it worsened his fever hurt his immunities in the last years of his life. He was Macy. It'd he had he was hospitalized dealing with a lot of just general weakening. During the expedition the river of doubt was renamed the Roosevelt river, Kathleen Dalton and Jeffrey Lehman share one concern, deforestation and development threaten that wild place and it needs to be preserved. But they have different opinions about what Roosevelt did there. Improve that TR cared more about proving his masculinity and going on these boyish adventures, then he did about the social problems. He left at home. He was a major progressive voice in nineteen twelve nineteen thirteen. So what does he do instead of staying with the Progressive Party, which was did have people in congress and was trying to be a third party voice for for helping poor people helping workers helping women get a vote. What does he do? He has to go off and be an adventure. Because he has all this unfinished business, you know, what's wrong with a guy who does. I think it's reckless and self-indulgent you have to love Roseville.
