"Matter with posted base ago and this is great stuff in there about this. Spring training said that actually matter and it's not just flat pitching ones in there. That i think are important. Re ask you. Where do you get the exit velocity numbers from. Where do you find that aware of hard hit rate how people that are listening to the show. Get the information that you're using your calls okay so People are very familiar with van graphs at this stage fan graphs is imported. A lotta the statcast data. So if you wanna get a one stop quick shopping. That is a great place to go on another place. Though is baseball savant. Baseball savant is an amazing web site. For statcast i mentioned the column that there are nine ballparks. Covering eleven teams the spring that have statcast equipped in their ballparks. Unfortunately it's only one of them out in arizona. Most of them are in florida. However if you go on a baseball savant there is a search. That is the only place you're going to get them for spring training. But if you change it to twenty twenty one and you pick spring training you can get things like max exit velocity if you wanna see pictures velocities understand that. It's only for the games. Have statcast equip that those parks so it's not covering everything but it gives does give you a snippet and you want to look for the high over one hundred mph exit velocities for hitters. That's pretty key. You wanna look for the velocity changes and you also want to look for difference in pitches you can select a different pitch on their lots of different options so for me. I just downloaded. I run a whole bunch of queries. That's how i put the column together to give. I ran a whole bunch of corey. Ripa my Laptop would shut down. another meyer. Another young prospect. You've got demoted. Who i was high on his out. Secure off of the twins guy who has.

"But I really think the reds were the right side in that game. Anyway, but it's simply to say that if you don't evaluate your losses in something resembling this manner baseball season is going to grind you down to a nub baseball season is a it's a heavy commitment. It really truly is. So when you look at yesterday's game here. And of course, I watched the end of both of the one nothing losses that I had yesterday. You look at this one specifically Louis Casteel was fantastic gave up one hit. It was an RBI single. That was the game winning hit for the brewers there. One hit over seven innings one run walked four struck out nine. He only allowed one batted ball over ninety four point seven miles per hour. So Casteel was very very goodness game. He was exceptional in this game. It was one hundred mph ground out from Mike was stock is the way that the brewers scored their run wasn't a walk a Bach in a. Seventy two mph single. So Casteel, basically in the one run scoring opportunity. The brewers really had in this game. Got lucky gave up a very soft single up the middle of balk advanced the runner, you know, those things generally aren't going to happen. So we're on the wrong side but casino did look like the right pitcher in this game. No on the flip side here. Freddie for all. The what it's a great stat. One eight innings pitched to hits no runs. No walks. Eleven strikeouts. But four Peralta in this outing. He allowed seven of the games. Ten hardest. Hit batted balls. The reds were two for seven on those batted balls of ninety six point eight plus miles per hour. They only managed to.

"A tree fell on a home on Mercer avenue and a mother and her young baby lost their lives that tree falling on the home of the three of them were in the the house there in the back room, the mom, the dad and the baby and the mom and the baby died. The dad was injured the tree fell on his leg and emergency crews said they thought they were going to have to amputate his leg. Fortunately, they were able to get the tree off it took some time and he is in a hospital with injuries. But a hard time for the firefighters here, we really saw an emotional time where they all came together for prayer circle. Because I mean, this is the that's the worst that could happen here in a did a horrible tragedy with the mom the baby losing their lives. And so. They're hoping that was the worst of it. Because that was not just one tree there's dozens of trees like that route Wilmington. There's a lot downtown down. But the big trees really as we were driving from Wilmington to right before. Right. So the huge mass trees or down to all over the area on roadways in neighborhood on homes and so. Sessile out of that damage because they weren't removing those trees, they're really just today focusing on any rescues or making sure people were okay. They hope you do that tomorrow. Once things if the rain and the wind gusts clear out of here, which is probably not going to happen early in the morning. So time will tell when that's going to start happening. But as far as that curfew, you mentioned they want people to stay off the roadways for exactly what you're seeing here. There supreme everywhere. Just in downtown Wilmington, not as much as we're seeing throughout the other roadways with a massive trees down. But the power lines are big concern to more than eighty percent of people. Here don't have power so IRI dragging on the streets. It was hard to see anything because no street lights. No anything. The only thing. You're seeing is people have generators. So I'm sure by tomorrow. A lot of people are going to get stir crazy guys because there's nothing open for good reason. There's nothing opened. They don't want people coming out. But a lot of people are in hotels. They went inland and a lot of people laughed, right? Phil area in the Wilmington area. They're anxious to get back home. But they don't want you to even try to get back to this area until they give the all clear. The shelters are full. There's five shelters here. They're all full. And so just a lot of assessing to do as time goes on once the rain and win like I said, we we're actually getting a nice break right now. This is calm considering what you know early this morning a hundred mile more than one hundred mph with us. We're coming here. And throughout the day was pretty strong, the rain, but this is actually not that bad said, I'm enjoying this compared to what it's been like the last twenty four hours you need a little bit of a break. Diane and sodas everyone else there in New Hanover county. Diane. I'm happy to see you put your boots on. I'm sorry. I missed teasha, Diana. Yes. Yes. You know? I love the crocks. I know a couple of years they did reach out to me and my boss because they were not happy. If you caught any my coverage I was wearing sandals yesterday. And before I got into the floodwaters, I know better not to go any floodwaters without my boots on. I did always have my boots with me when I felt I needed them. I was comfortable my sandals yesterday. I felt safe in my sandals. Yesterday. Was raining. There is not any debris at that point that I thought I was putting myself in danger, but I've taken all of their suggestions that I have my boots on and they will stay on as I go through the flood waters. Yes. As I saw you walking in the water, Diane. I was thinking to myself, I hope they're boots under there. Don't worry. Hearing about it. If I did it. All right. Dan was talking about the the shelter population. And it's really the numbers are pretty staggering across the state. They're close to twenty three thousand people staying in shelters signed people have been evacuated from their homes one hundred fifty shelters that are open their thrown at schools, many churches have opened their.

"That's a big range ninety five plus you've got the five seventeen batting average so on ninety six to one hundred mph batted balls guys are hitting three ninety two where they four thirty eight will but if you go up to a hundred plus it's six eleven batting average where they seven seventy eight will so the degrees of exit loss and he really change what happens with the outcomes of these batted balls so if we do it out in ninety two ninety four miles per hour on batted balls it's three twenty batting average which is still good but obviously it's not the three ninety two of ninety six to a hundred or the you know five seventeen on ninety five plus that's three oh four wilda with ninety to ninety four mph bed at balls eighty five to eighty nine miles per hour is a two nineteen batting average were they to seven woah so that's a significant decrease you go from ninety to ninety four with a three twenty batting average to eighty five to eighty nine were they to nineteen batting average that's where we get a lot of significance that's why when you look at guys who have average exit velocities in that eighty five to eighty seven rains something like that those guys that can sustain good numbers that can stave off that era extra progression and again this is this is a very simple thing where i'm just adding numbers to it and quantifying that a little bit and then i tell people this all the time about sabermetrics it's simply giving context providing a value so what you can already see with your eyes the harder the contact the more bad things that happen the more hard contacted team has the better they should be authencity and exit boston you get hit say reliability point very very early for individual hitters so guys hit the ball hard are going to continue.
