"Are the great winner of survivor New Zealand Thailand Lisa Stage L. Lisa. Thanks so much for being here. Thank you for hearing me. I'm suicide should discuss this. I know I think it worked out. Well because kind of the history of this podcast is that we were meant to do. Global the wheat emerge week of thirty nine. Everyone knows without week is and then I ended up doing notables and we ended up not wanting to pour more about that fiasco which is really good decision. Yeah Yeah I found my notes to that when I was looking through Tonight and I was just shaking my heating. Oh I'm very glad we didn't delve into that more. Yeah it would have been just a little sad. I felt like I said all I wanted to know it alls about it and I wanted to be able to kind of like Gig out about survival with you. Zillah superfan and this was the perfect time to do it like this was so good to have another fan on someone. Who's obviously one for an old winning season and seizing was so excited. Like this is the time to be costing. I'm so yeah I feel like I'm just really happy that I got in just in time of having my own. Us podcast saliva forty. Because I could not way to talk about these two episodes like what were your initial reactions beyond just like screaming out. I'm I'm a little bit. Said we're shelved the study the podcast with an hour of screaming idea that I'll off air. Everyone just know h we'll ny north of roofers. Thing I have is just the woods. Shiva's life Is At stats. And I love the way they started with it but musical interlude at this that in oh I just loved it. I am not doing very good woods. Anyone who watched my season especially the finale and appreciate my words not come out so good but now I just. I was so excited as my accent. Mentally will increases my vocabulary in speaking ability decreases. Just so excited of start start going. Yeah I was today was like sometimes they try to have a little bit of a conversation with myself about how I feel about the episode and I myself saying I loved it repeatedly I love loved it because it was so good I think also we I work for a puertas which is great. But the thing that I've really thought and something. I tweeted in mentioned a little bit at the end of the cosmodrome. Very very briefly. Kind of your into how he felt Allen initial reactions. Were like this. Is it for me. This is it this is the best gets like. I'm someone and a lot of people in the community are some people have more of a life and I don't want to say that you're the same as me that that would be a low bar but I've invested so much of myself into this show. I've invested my time my energy passion and my love my identity into survivor and that comes sometimes prize and is often really good or a great reward with it but I feel like this is the best reward. This is the return on investment. This is people we are going to get so much out of it. I honestly feel like there are a million little nuances every interaction. For every scene that we see some of them will be spoken than unspoken. But just like little details in this premier just poverty reacting to you'll facial expression you know just knowing how hot will it is to ease into kind of vassar adamant that history and the cancer history behind that Robin Poverty? Teaming up is obviously a big one. Just knowing who Danny is something probably relievers. We prevent no so this the this is going to pick up an all the stuff where you're going to get one hundred fifty five thousand percent out of the season and I honestly feel like this is. It's more than the Super Bowl. It's more than the Olympics. It's more than Infinity Ward's more than all of those things because we get to experience it over fourteen weeks of dislike peak fandom and it's such a gift to the fan it really is couldn't agree more. I couldn't agree more especially about the settlements. I was a living for those when I wash it. There was one in particularly EDEM team today. Suggesting something in poverty Onery not exact in eighth and just shrugged strike as much meaning the inmate Shrek. I saw your Survivor Africa his survival status experience. In Gosh this guy's really gone we just GonNa milk the meaning out of everything in this thing. It's all right. It's the super fans and the beast of times beast times wrestling. I think that's very true. Like yeah there's so many little we could go through this whole podcast just little moments that I love you love. You know even just Ethan saying to Boston road like your wife's playing and knowing they've had a romantic history like the deep into connectedness of every play off the the the history like this is twenty years in the making. They've played at least thirty nine days much much more for many of them. It's not just twenty fevers. Obviously because most of them have played many of them have played multiple times so the Suma survive a history here. And if you've put in the time to know that history into research that history love that history talk about that history. You are awarded and it is. It's a great product. I on I spoke to my parents today. Who casuals. My Mom knows quite a lot more than my dad. He has seen every episode. But the the knowledge maybe isn't as much there but for the casuals. I think they're going to be like damn. This is amazing. I think as an objective TV product of fossil sloth on. It's so great but there are different levels of appreciating it and I'm just so happy to be here right now. Appreciating it every single thing that's worth and like. I'm now just so hyped up about the next thirteen weeks where I'm GONNA get all of the rewards for seventeen years of love of this show and that is basically the best that I can get. Yeah just you saying at all. I agree wholeheartedly agree. I honestly think every scene was was poetry me like I just I loved it and on and I. I was excited before and everything was hiding. The episodes education was. We'll talk about winning. Hosoda came out and even just let me I heard about war and the BIOS and every bit of preseason content Bob was getting raves of like chemically and they actually cleaned it and it was good and the segment between the ad breaks off to the challenge and the second outbreak. Where everyone's kind of meeting and you had the confessionals about your parenthood with Mike Tyson for poverty. Ethan's cancer journey some of the great paradox. Here Adams and denise you'll and sophie like these dream pair every time of two people were on screen was like a fever dream and I honestly think that's probably my favorite twenty minutes in television history. I'm not being hyperbolic. I've had thirty hours to sit on it. That's going to be the twenty minutes I watched. If I'm sad one day you know like that's it for me while survived. The IT IS. They can reach the really food. You'll survive a they get you head You throw you already pretty full survivor. That it seems like now it's just it's sold as complete might y you ain't GonNa Watch the rest of the season. Now maybe just with it when you experience something meaningful you really. WanNa take the time appreciate it almost feel like with like I'm not joking. I think they the season they made a new episode every three weeks as opposed to everyone week and we hit Torri wakes to dwell on discuss it and take it apart like every episode was as good as this episode. I would I would. I would relish that I totally. I totally agree like some of the people who are like accomplished after a whole week. It's you want to go back to seconds. Oh we're going to watch another episode. Ceuta that a week from now like I said like I can't believe I have go out and live. My life like a productive member of society and to be fair leading my life was going to survive of union potty to rewatch the episodes that productive member of society and even that was like how am. I GONNA put my shoes on like my husband came home from work and I was like jumping literally. Just like buzzing like flushing based on what I just saw. You know I genuinely believe with. We've always called here resilient to survive movie and it has been that and that's in the bar and leaf. It can continue in the session at so faucets so great. This cost is phenomenal. I don't really think barring one result that you will talk about edge of extinction but CONSI house won't be the best season of all time. I know it's early. But how.

"Finished up her talk with you back from survivor. Mark cases these. She won't eight nine. Yes Oh these back. It's so interesting listening to your conversation with her because she talked about coming coming back you know. Last time. She played like v this time she wants to play like Sean. And let's see if that works out. Okay there you go. That's old school tribe. Let's let's meet our new school tribe of who what's the dividing line here my it's not idle. It's that modern day. Idol where arrest later in the season. We're an idol existed. But I feel like that was really the first sign that we have cemented. The rules of Modern Day survivor and so this group represents people that were able to do that. Let's see if they can still prevail. Do they have home-court advantage. In that regard at considering the medal of the old school players we shall see and I guess speaking of home in court. Here's someone who's likely to build a court just out of lumber that he finds in his backyard Bob Crowley when survivor shown survivor winner ever is back. Yes bill all. The court is to have a trial. Yeah I don't know listen. Bob has been able to build a lot of things. He's hosted survivor. However traffic in his backyard before I can imagine he'd he'd hold like a kangaroo court? You know I feel like you can make his own little sovereign nation. If he wants to Bobby Tovia would he hold. It's just like a trial like for Adrian. Vite like well who is in his backyard. I would love a manner his own ruling poppies. But it's a manner entire populated entirely by clones of Bob Crowley and Jillian Larson. Bob Is guilty Master like to smell the Elephant Dung I bake out of it. Okay all right Bob Crowley is here everybody all right and who else is here. My so this is a guy who unfortunately missed the cut for winners at war. Considering that you know these people went out a couple weeks after he won and he was very much on their minds considering the advent of edge of extinction. But Chris Underwood is here to bring some more days to his resume somme after the nine that he spent playing the game in survive regiment in fairness that he did come back and play more than just nine right well. I believe it's thirteen total. Mike so don't be later and we'll see if that's ill add at least three more onto that to make such an unlucky number but yeah I mean. Chris had a fiery run quite literally at the end there he probably knows the modern survivor game better than anybody out here. Let's see can use that to his advantage. He's here to do it for Monica. Exactly exactly he's where to use the reverse pitch. What was that technique that during his final council the negative reverse I think the negative reverse that might be not right but I think it's the position that Brian headaches probably? Hey He's a salesman. He's a salesman all right. Let's talk about our next member of the new school tribe. You ever playing in Fiji but we might as well call it earl earl. Oh Cole is bag. Geez back I mean it makes sense. He's returning to his home court that rob built for him to hopefully not a weight that strict of the trial. I'm excited for. I know he's been in a couple of times. He had a conversation with you. Yup I think around this time last year. So it's clear he's attuned to the game and let's see if he can keep away the snakes but bringing the money yes much like you. That url also had a baby around the time of survivor forties filming and so that that was one of the reasons I could participate in winners at war but here he is winner is at peace. Yes and I can't wait for my son to kick his kids ass and survivors seventy-five babies. They had a daughter. Leave your daughter. Okay all right so maybe a showman okay. There you go all right. Oh Oh look who's back It's a good thing that the people blog is in being written anymore because the it would be actually our next two people it would be right. Stephen might have a connection trying to figure out who to hand out the fishy to every week right. This is the season that will send Stephen Fish back to therapy because he has to choose between two good friends here. JT is back. James Thomas to see if you can sink any lower in survivor run and it's been a little tougher. Jt got worse and worse every time out. He's looking to reverse the curse. Well listen if he makes it past I episode four. I believe he'll do at least just as well as he did. During Game Changer. So really. He's shooting low right now. J. T. is one that's known to swing for the fences in his recent seasons and I can only imagine he's going to do the same thing. Okay and then look who else is here. My yes jeff. PROBST gave Cochran awkward lift to the island. Actually back you took a break from. Kevin can wait. Kevin can wait Cochran places. Kevin can wait cancelled for some time. Uh Yes he's been waiting awhile. Yes I believe. He's actually working with David Wright writing for that did they they announced what the what show there is. Yeah they're working on lower lower deck. I knew that wasn't sure if that was I knew at one point it was top secret but okay right I believe when it was actually announced at the edge of extinction extinction. Finale Mike McMahon. The show runner tweeted out his accolades for it. So I'm excited for that as well and I'm glad hopefully copper. Then got the William Thomas Record joke that I may yes. Yeah just rolling in the aisles. Definitely did good. Dvd Shelf Mike. Who else is on the new school tribe? Well Fabio Sierra. Yes looking for another paycheck assumingly yet. This guy who came out of nowhere probably one of the most w t f winners but from a pure character perspective one of the most fun survivor. Winners that we've ever. He was fun. He was a good time. He was an interesting character in the background of so much calamity going on in survivor Nicaragua but he was one who was able to pursue keep his head up and keep his spirits very high. Let's see if we can manage that highness as he goes through this game. Luckily luckily we have no in ground pool in survivor. Winners of peace right. Exactly we've now been able to go back into the ocean so fabio. Ken Let himself go. Oh Howard needs to without bothering okay. All right A man who kicked off the Thirties of survivor with a win. Who else is here? Mike Mike Holloway a fellow. Mike Challenge Beast himself doing the happy dance right now to see if he can bring it in once getting hopefully not have have to make such a high stakes run hopefully be able to slide in a lot easier yes okay. MIC is one hundred fifty five thousand percent ready to go. Hopefully Med has a nice supply of lozenges. This time around so we don't need to hear Horse Mike how far he goes. I'm very excited for this next. I try my yes. Someone was able to use a Kyle Jason. The bounty hunter track down Natalie White and has been able to command the bird. uh-huh oh my God exactly. Oh my word here is natalie white that the dethroning of Russell's Russell Hanson's original season winner of survivor Samoa back back here to see what she can prove her second time. They need to have natalie out there because then they can see that Natalie is is not that good and then I should've been a winner and then I will pop out at the final tribal council and take her spot. I will buy the the title from Natalie for only five thousand dollars. I'm making a gofundme. Please donate so. I can pay natalie the Crown Natalie white is here everybody all right two more winners Mike Todd Herzog super happiest. Todd awed back here. He had a very interesting run in survivor. China one of the most strategic winters. We've seen unfortunately really tough downturn for todd with his Battle of Alcoholism Hall Ism since his time then but he's on the men right now he's happily engaged now. He's fight rate to fully engage survivor as well all right very excited to see todd back He might take some exception to being on the new school tribe. Yeah I mean I guess you know again very loose definition much like it is for any survivor theme and unfortunately taught has to be a victim to that. Yeah todd did play back in Season Fifteen China but you could certainly argue that his game came was of the style that you see among the new school players. Are you talking like our last person from the new school tribes. Now talking to you that that is a jeff probst preseason mode. Okay talk talk about our most recent winner of survivor. WHO's here yes? Tommy she she had I guess are reigning champion. Now Imagining Jeff is being like todd is probably the one of the people who was the most recent to go to school so therefore oh he is new school by that. Deputy goes to school every day. Yeah exactly it's so. Does Tommy as well. We're going to see teaching time with Tommy. Tommy is coming in hot especially after his deep dive with you. He seems very h he I think he he got a very strong when we talked about this a day. After the finale that I think it was a very good good game played by Tommy. Let's can replicate it especially so soon and with another group of players that have done the exact same thing as him since Rupert. Yeah interesting tribe divisions Natalie white the only woman here on the new schools Dr. Yeah I'd say a bit of a Sausage Festival Chris under what's on a try tried to all right there are makes it makes our old school tried with four women. Seem like that's pretty pretty much a lot better but still speaks to the fact that still way more men winning survivor in the history of the show and it also that is heavily weighted by this thirties. Okay all right. My we've ready to go into episode one. Do you have who. Who are you pulling for right now? I know a personal pick right now. A sentimental pick is JEN. But do you have sort of going with your head. Who Do you think is going to become the winner of this group of quote unquote went? Okay so I will say I make gay winner pick among this group filling. Don't sleep on that. She's really in a good spot. In terms of that people are going to not look at her as a threat. Also alternate universe. Sandra I think is also somebody to keep an eye on a will not be a threat. Although as always the Sandra the challenges are going to be an issue early on. I think that you know Jenna I would. I would look at her. I am looking at people that are sort of like under the radar here early on where a lot of these bigger targets are going to. I think have some trouble early. Liane I think todd is somebody that you should keep an eye on. But I'm looking for people that are sort of more under the radar to start off here right. I think I've could've put him one shock pick. I'm going to go with earl here. The King of Oh yeah coming back to his throne because I think earl I think played one of the most underrated Winter Games in survivor survivor. History especially as someone who apparently never saw the show before going on he was able to really build the played as it flew. Emma's able to never really be in trouble double at any point in time and get the first unanimous win in survivor history paving the way for the two guys next to him. Jt and Cochran. So I think that he's someone who is definitely likable enough. I think people would get along with him but not someone who sticks out so much. I think that's GonNa be the danger for some of these old school people's they have such a reputation behind them even like Mike Holloway. Who's known for winning challenges? You can imagine that was the individual phase hits..

Mike Todd Herzog Natalie White Mike Mike Holloway jeff probst Bob Crowley earl earl Jt Tommy Cochran salesman Kevin Chris Underwood Stephen Fish Sean Mark Mike McMahon Sandra I Mike Challenge Bobby Tovia

"Rick Devon's is what a thorn Rick Devon's is in their side. And how boy we just can't stop. Rick Devon's Rick Devon's is the greatest thing since sliced bread. And there's so much talk about how it's almost feels like that they are making the case not for any of their own cases with the jury that seemingly all they do is talk about how great Rick Devon's isn't how they can't stop him. Well, I would be nervous in this situation about being the one to to make a case about how how great my game was in front of the jury because it sure seems like every single week the biggest target other than Rick Devon's gets wiped out. And I wouldn't wanna be that person. You know, I would wait until I get to the jury to make the case why deserve the money to the jury. I hear you about like pumping up rake from my perspective and probably from their perspectives. Rick is winning. If he gets to the end, you know, the jury is visibly one hundred fifty five thousand percent agree. Rick Devon's is winning. If he gets to the end. So why not play into? It's not. I don't think they that. He'll he'll win more because the jury is cheering him, right? Because the players are are acknowledging what everyone out there already knows. And so why not play into that? Why not talk about that? And even use that focus on Rick as a way to disguise what their other plan was which was a blindsided and Aurora aligns agree with blindsiding Aurora. I don't understand why that for Gavin Indyk Torey. Okay. So we understand why Julie wants to keep Lauren in the game. And so I mean Lauren wants to keep in the game and vice versa. So that Julie wants wants to keep Loren Loren feels good about keeping Julian the game and the two of them they have this working relationship that we saw from a couple of weeks ago when they went on the reward with Devon's and war dog. But at the point where then Lauren comes to Gavin and says, hey what? If we vote out Aurora, and then there's well, let me see what Victoria thinks about this. And Victoria is not she does not love this idea. But I think that Victoria capitulated this week to the demands to be in the numbers which we've applauded her for all season. I think the move was they coulda done a three to one out Lauren at this tribal council and kept Aurora in the game. Take out Lauren who for whatever reason felt like she wanted to keep Julie in the game. That'd be a red flag to me. Why does she want? Julia around. And now, let's vote out larent- at this. Trouble council will blindside her and they'd be blindsiding her with an idol as well. And you keep Aurora in the game to potentially be another person who can stop Rick Devon's from winning immunity. Yeah. I do think that Aurora is more of a consistent challenge competitor, someone who can stop Devon. So I agree with that general. Thinking that Aurora a good force. I think when it comes down to like, and I also thought what I saw that scene with Gavin in Victoria, that there was a really strong chance that they were going to flip the vote onto onto Lorant. But like the question of whether to focus on devote Lorne or vote out Aurora seems to me like splitting hairs to a certain degree. And it really is going to be dependent on what the people on the island actually, think a couch. They trust that person. And what they realistically think that person's winner chances. So I also feel like voting out Lauren would have been another thing that you could say to the jury like Rick is never even in the loop on these plans now that this was a case where unlike last week where. Yeah, he played his idol and got run out, but he had voted for a Rura. Now, he in this tribal council he voted for a Roth IRA, and he can now talk about this. As one of his moves that he got Aurora out of the game. And she's talking about, you know, go after Rick Devon's again. Then the person the in the room who's talking about. I gotta go after Rick Devon's ends up leaving for ad from that tribal council for.

"So that I like nobody can see me play everyone against each other. And I think that's sort of where humming with this strategy rather than like, how do I build the dominant alliance echinacea very astute observation now, I didn't get Kelly said in that tonight when I looked over there, the one person that I that I said, oh hell no was Jevons at anybody. Wasn't there? This like a love fest unless when they had to vote him out, and they were all like weeping, and it was the most moving tribal council than anyone's ever seen you have rim who hourly hates Kelly worth who said who thought that voting out. Joe tonight was lame sit. I believe all she wanted Kelly at the about Chris no love for. Worth keith. No love for Kelly, Aubrey, okay and went bit Wendy this. No love forget worth Devon's who was a love fest. What an emotional tribal council to give it to Devon's. And oh, no. We have to Devon's. I mean, the only thing I can think is that she may be she certainly knows how smart and charming Devon's as that was their rationale for voting him out was that he was a very dangerous player potentially could flip very sociable, very fun and might have been dead against her for having been voted out. So perhaps spreads. See what was the point big out there that last week? This group was we will go to rocks for each other for for less. Sue, we will go to rocks to avoid op polo rock here to vote with my less sue four, and then we get to the marriage like all right throw throw them under the bus. Who cares? Yeah. Yeah. Exactly. It's nutty. It's like it is this sort of wild reversal of targeting, David Devon's. When like you're saying, you know, they could have the numbers especially with Joe we immediately see Kelly Joe talking to each and yet if Kelly kind of Sheikh code have been that rich because Joe alternately goes along with her plan. I don't understand where everything that we saw in the pre merge was always David Wright talking about Kelli, Kelli that from what I understand felt like okay? Well, once you take out one returning player that's going to start the avalanche. Why was she is? So gung ho she was trying to sell to Joe David Wright, and Devon's are gonna come for you. Yeah. It was very strange like very, you know, you've got all these. They just saw voted out. I mean, I think you know, went with wisely brought that up. But yeah, it's seem like a real missed opportunity. Let's talk about Devon's for a minute. This big moment. And I want to hear your thoughts about that sort of two half idle, okay? Okay. We'll talk about that. And I wanna talk about the actual the actual execution of the extinction. Returns on logically chronologically. So this was really fun tonight. We started the, Nope. Previously on boom went right back into right into it. I can't recall the time that we've done that before on survivor. So that's exciting. Jeff was very confident that this was going to land Jeff sets everybody up like all right at the merge agree on his face like sometimes on survivor, we have conic moments and sometimes it takes years, and sometimes they happen right in front of us instantly. Jeff like one hundred fifty five thousand percent confident this is going to land. What's an example of an iconic moment that took years to become my Connick in on? I think there's a lot of stuff that, you know, ends up in the funny. One fifteen becomes Konica years down the road. Right. Okay. So. Then I'm sure that's what Jeff was referencing. And then we get we bring everybody out first off..

"If you don't to be spoiled Benji, the gripe Benji Wilson did not get a confessional in the first seven episodes. He then got getting all the confession. It was only there for two. It was only. All know, they didn't even give me confessional. I had to go after. But Benji then proceeded to go from no one knowing his name. He then non nine can fish off to that. That's a one-off in the making. Yeah. Nineteen confrontation. He like, it's your time will come if you'll pertinent to the story. It will come. It. Also is like it's terrible. I don't know how it works in American survive. If they stick to more like a schedule, but in straddling savant, they will just pull you for confessional. Whenever at whatever time in whatever. Order an I remember I went for the foul. I was the first confessional of mantra. Then one other person go to confessional, then go Putin again for another confessional. And before anyone one person in the Trump had had there was one person who hadn't had any I had had three. And it was so like until about while you're out there like filming not airing on the TV show. And it was really awkward around camp when you would get pulled. You don't wanna be electrical the confessionals? You don't wanna get pulled people get their nose out of joint you want to just sit there and be NAS and calm and be greater and Cam and be boring. So that the shar doesn't go to you, and you can scoot your way, a little editing Nick could you start to look ahead for me. And tell me what what should we expect here in the merge? How do you see this going? I think that less is in trouble. Simply we know that usually there are these big jobs. There's Tim Berra. The glue the ten dying those tribes that it usually. Big it with like a small affection that comes in the tribe, usually crumbles, but we haven't seen any of the dissension amongst comma. And the other thing is that it hasn't just been one big trod the whole time what a big tribe needs. So that don't get sick of each other. Is they need time apo-, and they need a common enemy that had the common enemy in O'Brien. Join the whole time. And now they've spent Tom apo- which so they don't seek if each other. I think they're gonna come back together an audit and think there's going be a split down in the middle of that comic group, especially not newbies. So I actually am afraid that that could be some Agung ING all sorts when you makes me in all my hopes on this little cluster of lesser, plus the Asterix of the person who comes back from extinction on and I won't over to come back mainly because I'm a huge over fan. But also because I think that she will defect to that smaller group, which will keep things a little bit more interesting. I'm with you one hundred fifty five thousand percents. And I really think that the person that comes back from the edge is going to be a huge swing potentially. Really? There's a couple of things. So the two for this season to sort of be, you know, a really exciting in the second half. And not just because what's going to happen on the edge is like I think that we need to have a exciting post merge. And I feel like that the more exciting post merge is if the lesser group, which we've seen a lot of is it I mean won't that be weird? If like less sued like it's picked off. And then like the major characters of the season are going to be the comma six that we really haven't seen that much of. Yeah. Yeah. And I and I know that the show has been trying to show us run, Victoria, and Julie. So I know that if that is the case they're going to be hinging on us throwing allow investment into those characters. But you have to hope you have to read into the fact that may be hope that some of these less people are going to get further in the gut to autos, which the other side doesn't have. So that's you know, I think there's something to set any overcomes back if..
