"Second pick in the two thousand twenty three NHL entry draft, the Boston Bruins select Christopher Pelosi. And he was playing in Sioux Falls of the USHL. Nineteen points in forty three games. Really big kid. He's six to one hundred eighty five pounds. He's a forward. He shoots left. So that's good. The next one is. Come on. One twenty four was Beckett Hendrickson. Yeah. Yeah. You might as well just name him off because my my iPad's going off the rails over here. One eighty eight was always technology. Let's see. Let's see. The first three, four picks. Pelosi, Hendrickson, Walsh and Casper, Nason are all forwards. I'm pretty sure they were all centermen, too, if I remember correctly. Or at least they were all capable of playing centermen. Walsh was at one eighty eight and Nason was at two fourteen. And then they addressed defense with 220 overall with Christian Castaninski. I hope I'm pronouncing that right. Yeah. Six five, two hundred fourteen pounds. Big, big defenseman. So everybody that was drafted, all five picks, the Boston Bruins selected in this two thousand twenty three NHL entry draft are all over six feet tall. So what does that tell you? I think they want size. I think so. I think they're going for bigger bodies. It'll it'll be very interesting to see how this plays out. obviously Obviously, none of these guys are expected to touch NHL ice for at least two, three seasons, given where they were drafted. But, you know, for all the all the haters on Sweeney, you know, you almost almost won that GM of the Year award again, which would have been a nice one to shove in their face. "They touched that distance. But i want to give a shout out to all that came out we had jamie burke matt airs lisa keating mahler and leonard rosenthal shutouts. Rosenthal is because they're their donation is what we're using to sponsor violet. Lions race as well as her team shirt is so it was going to be awesome. Thank you marla and leonard. I wanna publicly. Thank you for your donation. And then we had jim burke and he was out there power walking it up. It was a beautiful morning guys very very beautiful mortar now. I actually got their super early myself. The meat the meat up was at seven. Am i got there about four. Fifteen am and started my my run before everybody got there because it was a sunday and i needed to get home and take care of family things but i was able to stick around and see everybody and got him all started. I ran a mile or so with them and then gives me inspiration before i had to head back so that was the week that was for us. Now let me go into this topic of running books right. And i put that question. How all my social media running motivation page. And i have not touched it yet. I did not look ahead of time. I didn't pre select anything. It'd be looking at it for the first time reading what others had to say before i do. I wanted to say. When i first started running dirty i would pick off. Runners world magazine and in runner runner's world magazine. I would just read some tips. But i was very inspired by some of the stories whether it was a four hundred pound man getting down to one hundred eighty five pounds or whether it was personnel losses. Lag now teammate. A prosthetic leg and now he's a he's running marathons just so many different stories that i would get from runners world magazine. While the first book that i've ever read came from runs world and it was called one less run faster and the title of on the front of the book here says boston training programs for all sixteen qualifying times and says become a faster stronger runner with the revolutionary first training program. So this This book was written by bill bill. Peers scott moore and ray moss in this book. Hammers home the point of running three days a week. And so. that's where. I got the concept of just doing three three key train days but in this book is different levels for the different levels out there. So if you are experienced five k. Rudder you're your three days per week is going to be different from the beginners in. When i first started the keep calm it runs the program. I use the beginning chart for myself now from this book went in my late twenties and early thirties. Before i rush your mom patella tendon. I had a goal of getting a sub thirty minute kit. Because i was struggling with that. So here it is. I ruptured patella. Tendon had rehabbed nat probably was like you. I was pushing late thirties. When i say late. Thirties probably was like thirty seven or something like that. Thirty eight and i'll just get back into five k. On and after about three to four year absence you know. And i picked up this book. You know when you get runners world magazine or any magazine. There's that little card and they're telling you to fill out this card and get this book a male or something so i filled it out and that's how keep calm run to the best. You start it off this book that i'm holding in my hand right now. I still have the book. I'm holding it and i just use these so in practice. I ran my five k. The week before the five k. Was scheduled if i'm not mistaken. It was march March twenty six two thousand in okay and it was a saturday and the week before i ran the five k. At home and i did a time of twenty nine forty five or twenty nine thirty and it just blew me away. I was like what if i can get this. This is crazy. Like if i get this in practice. I'm i'm for sure going to get a sub thirty minute five gay so or raise day. I actually got twenty six minutes in twenty one seconds for that bucket following the program in this book and then i started to bump it up and started practicing for ten k half marathon. This book is really good. Talks about the water running. Let me see some chapters e. c. was good rest and recovery chapter sounded year round training. Chapter eight you know what's interesting about books guys. Is that if you had to read it in a long time is also good to pick it back up and go over those chapters again. Chapter nine running hot and cold for this is under section call performance factors right so that's really cool and once again it has something down at the last. Chapter is getting to boston. The reality of boston. How to qualify awesome. Another book that i had purchased for runner's world was the runners diet the ultimate eating plan that will make every runner and walker leaner faster and fitter. This is by madeleine fern. Phd c. an s. So this was a good book. While i don't remember anything from the book. This is so long ago that i read it but if they were there were some things that i do remember slightly where they would do substitute certain things but i like at all e protein bars..

"Too close out today. Show there's another trailer card happening this weekend. And although i cannot stand the product. The main event has my attention. And i have some thoughts about my official prediction for door bell. Four evanger holyfield taken beat tour said that two guys a day ago. What happened what. What allow me to back up. Because you can probably relate to this. You can probably relate to thinking vitor got dealt from the bottom of the deck and showed major courage even stepping into this. I did i was impressed. Because if you look at from vitor standpoint we're size does matter not to mention. He's already taken arrest going to a sport. That isn't his and we can talk about the the olympics in nineteen ninety-six that he allegedly was on the process of trying to compete for a long time ago. This is a different sport man. This is the one veto did okay. So credit credit vittore right out of the gate but then stepping it against oscar de la. Hoya all right. I've got my marching orders. Here's what i'm gonna do. Here's who this is. Here's what he's doing to prepare. Get a good eye on this guy. Hundred and eighty five pounds. He gets called fee. It's called a week prior to the way ins and he's informed not only is it not one eighty us mma terms. I realized boxing works in different terms. But let me use that. Not only is it not middleweight. It's not even gonna be light heavyweight. It's going to be heavyweight. I have you ever heard of even heard of anybody. Agreem- one week prior to weigh ins to change weight classes by two way classes. I don't think anyone's even been offered that let alone done it right so again. Credit vitor fee towards go fight a very unknown. We don't wanna banters been up to. We know that vander is known for a while that he's going to compete. Evanger was of the state of mind. Six months ago that he was going to be fighting mike tyson. So evaders preparing. He's preparing. he's grossly different way class than what veto was ready to do for v tour to make one hundred eighty five pounds. He's changing his body. He sacrificing he's cut down on the calories and and he's upped the workouts put everything. Stop head back up. You can relax. Don't worry about the way. Okay not a lot of details. The fee nom says yes. Full credit fee tour. I assume vander just like you guys. All i can do is see the invader in my head right. Just like an accountant. You're only as good as the information you're given. That's what i have on. Evanger event is going to kill this guy. Vitor full respect that you're even going out there. He's going to get destroyed and the oddsmakers agreed. Evanger comes in a two one favorite now. The weigh ins are a short period of time away. The fight this weekend must admit. I don't know if it saturday or sunday. I would assume saturday but some boxes been going on on sunday right. The paul's been fighting sunday. So it's this weekend we'll leave it at that. I can assure you the two to one favorite eve. Andrew holyfield will not enter the ring the favourite. What happened well if you haven't seen it media day that's what happened media day for this. Very meagre event took place in a dirty small boxing gym somewhere which in all fairness to a boxing. Gym is exactly what you want but not a whole lot of space which means not a whole lot of media means it's not very well attended takes place anyway. They got a camera. Good enough for me. Evanger doesn't interview that is troubling and difficult in terms of the speech pattern so he showing some real signs that we've seen some of the sad signs that we've seen from our boxing heroes but then he does an open workout now. The open workout did not consist of anything. Redeemable there was not a redeeming quality within his power. There was not a redeeming quality within his foot. Work there is not a redeeming quality within his speed to do what you know is focus mitts. And that's a great. You call focus bits. No problem another term for that as you can call it running the numbers. 'cause focus mitts will all be done by numbers no matter who the coaches one two one two three one two five one five two one two five food slip slip. Seven eight one two. I mean you've got to run the numbers and your coach is going to call them. And you're gonna do it like a beautiful dance. It's wonderful to watch floyd mayweather and roger mayweather just by example to guys that know each.

"Arthritis or if you're like me had experienced your share spring and toys the knees now you can feel the change in weather before the weatherman does your these quote unquote aches and pains like they can really make it extremely difficult for you to engage in high calorie burn slash high impact workouts. Like running p look who has a history of ankle and knee itchen certainly certainly benefit from adding machine machine workout into their fitness routine. Adds up at its. It's also important to use the right form and technique when ruins you avoid injury in the first place you know that's more or less. That's a huge reason by working to begin with. You're trying to become stronger in and reduce your injury especially if you have a history of lower back issues. If you're new to rowing up getting some guidance from a fitness professional aka a personal trainer before using the roller you have to remember that just like most exercise machines you know too much of anything when using poor techni will eventually result engine so you to use them. She say because let's face it. This is important the second benefit of rocio workout. His it's versa. Time i mean running machines. Giving the opportunity to perform will high intensity interval training workouts but also great for endurance training through say cardio training so be able to both types of workouts. You know the hit and the steady state cardio You know this gives you a super super efficient workout middle time and the cardiovascular benefits of a rowing machine workout whether whether you're doing a hit workout war longer slower session. The benefits are nearly unparalleled. Their unmatched be like this piece of machinery and the workouts that you can do with it. These are pretty much open to a large variety of people late. You can get a wide variety of people of different ages and different sizes doing the fishing cardio swept building calorie shredding workouts. On that you know and again these workouts are more or less of zero impact format perfect for people with joint issues and stuff like that and so busy on this calorie shredding holy is number green or benefit number free of calorie melting. You know so simply put you easily burnt out some serious calories in this you know all this battles and remember that one. The number one tisch to losing weight and easily sliding a two year japhet. This is calorie deficit. You know so if you're able to torch and melt a serious amount of calories in a minimal amount of time and hey why not do it am i right. You know engaging all the muscles in your body increases your artery and this provides a top notch cardio workout. That's similar to what you might experience swimming vigorously like michael workout. Just thinking about the some ribbed. Starting at the end of the month actually lose supposedly the fastest swimmer in the world right now like now. The michael phelps retired. He's like the new. Michael phelps can't remember eczema the hell on it. I don't want to veer off topic too far here but we're talking about rolling being a top notch cardio workout honestly as thing you know since a rowing machine workout targets of large muscles of the lower body of burn those calories quaker period and the discussion. Now that being said just exactly how many calories you burn burn your workout while that will obviously depend on the intensity of the workout anger week so there was a harvard medical school report that was published with some estimates in his publication and so according to their report one hundred twenty five pound person rowing at moderate intensity on a stationary. Rowing machine can easily burned two hundred and ten calories in thirty minutes. That's just moderate intensity. Think about that. A one hundred fifty five pound person can expect the burn about two hundred and sixty calories is eight time at moderate intensity and a one hundred eighty. Five pound person will torch up to three hundred and eleven calories in half an hour at moderate intensity. I suppose that's why. When i get up on there that just over two hundred and ten pounds. I get on there and i saw rookie. Rubbishy that calorie count goes up pretty hot and i'm only on there for maybe about fifteen minutes or so. These burn rates are identical to what you can expect the burn when using a stationary bike again at moderate pace. Increase the intensity. And you know. And you'll increase the galleries. Her in the same amount of time and what school though is that. Some rowing machines will actually let you program computer on it to alert you. When you reach a certain number of calories it you get a little alert. Let's is pretty cool. You could make for a nice little party and No precise work. You want to up warm up or hit exactly. I dunno by six seven hundred calories that drum roll the she can actually help. You hit that number exactly. It also helps you know exactly when you burned off that slice of pizza from lunch or if you want. We've dull jr with your buddies later on the name comfort benefits number four. It's a full by workout now. There seems to be a misconception or better said he perception. I suppose that rowing is at all out the upper body arms shoulders will definitely benefit. And you know. They're likely to get strong told him whatnot. But it's even better core and lower body workout. If you're performing you know the rolling exercises the right way. That's you know. I hope you argued that right right. You know that's because the power of the stroke actually comes from gluts and your core arms leader and so while rowing definitely boosts your lower body straight also builds up your other body most those unlike some of the other more common pushing exercises so movements like push ups and base prizes. They were the push movement and rowing works. Opole which ten i mean. This can balance out that muscle development for a better overall training and reduce injuries. That were all laugher since works the opposite muscles ball a plane rather than a pushing. You know you get a more well rounded workout if you recuperate both movements out there if you try to add a rowing machine to your workout you also like you know. Alternatively you can use this holding exercise on a day where you're specifically looking to do a pulling workout or you're alternating push whole and you. You can work that also your regiment into your routine but however you slice it wrote an excise just great full body workout very effective and very efficient benefit is a scalable. So whether you're just starting out with a new fitness routine or your you know if you're a veteran of rome. She makes a great addition to your fitness routine. And it also you can adjust the resistance on the machine to meet the workout harder or easier basically tailor it to your knee and had near infinite options for ways to structure program work as your specific needs and goals. This is why you're just as likely to find rolling machines in cross figians and james where you know quote unquote a knee. Athletes light visit. The roller can serve a very broad spectrum of fitness needs and goals. But it's most often a better option for iriyanto advanced fitness enthusiasts because typically. They're the ones that have a decent foundation of bio awareness and the necessary physical attributes perform the roar in a way that doesn't it to injured and now that we're talking about doing it in a safe way quote unquote you know. Let's talk about something that is super important with hang exercise really and that's robert form so when you're using a rowing machine is critical that you may take a form so you don't develop injuries or overuse. Certain muscles has one of the most common injuries. These machines is the overuse injuries. Especially as you increase the frequency and volume of exercise too quickly early on your trading ramp by this is another one of those cases were a super simple exercise to do but on that same note. It's also super simple to screw up now. Back as us in particular can also be a problem with a rowing machine so if you had a pre existing injuries such as a you know a knee or lower back injury us care. Careful when starting with rowing risk pain is another one in tendinitis. Also be a problem for some people you can actually improve your saying by simply alternating your position karmapa down type great but you want to be careful with the us you know also wrestling at anti inflammatory medication. Anything risk splints can all be used to alleviate risk paying if you're still having issues and what i suggest a visit your doctor for further advice. Intriguing is also always best check with a medical professional today. Short of any health issues such as heart disease or injuries made sure that they don't interfere with your new workout routine before you start so just a face and keeping my day. You know if you're planning on implementing some rowing easier your workouts you know and once you're cleared for takeoff quote unquote. I got a few more deaths here to keep your former unemployment and the first is always start with a warm kind kinda sounds elementary but make sure one thoroughly before you're rowing workout. So you wanna use dynamic warm up routine that has you stretching and doing easy movements. Get your body ready for some some more intense exercise. Ideally focus on posture tall. And keep your shoulders back down away from years. Don't around your shoulders forward. And don't strain your net. Hold onto your to the handlebar loose. You know that handle body. Happy grip obviously in new roy motions. Don't handlebar tight. knows agreed. Tension can lead to wrist elbow and shoulder issues later on on. Say obviously firmly but lightly. I make sense you know. Make sure you have a good grip and don't over gritted favors every now and then just a loosen them and prevent tenjin from belly up during your workout also engage. Your hat. gager has their stroke. When you're doing as you you help protect your lower back from injury and provide more power or your rowing dry with delays. I and lean back lots of people they try to do. Both moves at once but this is a recipe for lower back agent period. Say wanna do is drive your stroke with the lays ads and your legs are fully extended then lean backs leaning back to finish the stroke with your hands. You know your arms pulling that bar up to your chest and while we're talking about the just keep your hands at chance. We're talking about here and now you wanna pull the handle bar into the chats essentially in line with the nibbles while keeping your shoulders down and pointed out insides. Now don't let the hands sag down towards your belly or rise up above the shoulder. Julie you know this is not good. This is came me to shoulder so don't want to do that on the return. Slice low down. It's easy to get all wrapped up in your workout and rush the slide back up to the front of the machine but slowing down the slide actually helps you get the full benefit of each stroke and it actually leads you reset your posture and positioning to be ready for the next pool. And that's pretty much it right there. It's actually simple. Once you get the hang of it. You know you may even want to listen to this. Podcast as you're on lucci can keep all of these points in mind while you're working out just thought points you get the hang of. It would create a consistent team of working out on the roller and just remember schedule in some rest time to you know the recovery process is just as important as the actual workout. The body needs tied to repair it and to come back stronger at once. That adaptation process takes place. That's where the whole frayed process. Continue and like no new train have met and so the more you know the better you'll be so with all that said and done let's switch gears now and move onto our second set me with mighty man so in this week's installment of my man we're talking about the way most benefits of milk thistle. Now i don't know about you but i personally did hearing a lot about this quote unquote this'll lately or say within the past year or so and honestly i wasn't exactly sure what it was. You know i just. I just know that a lot of people were this up in different group. Discussions and whatnot so to tech mode as as i usually do and i found out some interesting stuff i think it will join so first of all a hell is milk thistle again. I heard the word or turn thrown around here air. But what exactly is it well as it turns out fissile actually a popular herbal remedy. That's been used for hundreds of years to to treat a variety of medical conditions including diseases of the liver and goal line essentially. It's a type of lowering as they call it but more recently missile has been promoted as a tool for encouraging weight loss but scientific evidence to support. This uses. Actually very very actually. It's generally considered safe for most people at dosages of up to four hundred twenty milligrams a day. How whatever it may actually cause allergic reaction so they were so there were a lot of people that frowned that they had these allergic. Reaction hadn't symptoms like allergies and stuff. So you might clark feeling sensations of itching or headaches and possibly joint pain doesn't sound pleasant to me but aside from all of that it's typically taken by mouth in a capsule or extract form and a although milk thistle has a decent record of safety visit completely risk free the most commonly reported side effects again being a digestive issues or symptoms like mild diarrhea nausea it addition to the headaches and itching and joint pain that i mentioned earlier. You know also there's currently and not enough evidence again say conclusively whether milk fizzle interact negatively. Were searching patients. Not so you're taking any medication and you're thinking of adding milk thistle to your well this regiment. I highly insult with your doctor. I i say like what are the benefits of for wade malls like are they're actual benefits at all. Because there's been many studies conducted but the majority of the studies again focus on its potential to treat liver disorders like cirrhosis and fatty with also been study as a potential treatment for high blood sugar for people with type two diabetes. But from what. I can tell there's little to no evidence to suggest that milk thistle actually helps or promotes weight loss though it's sometimes used to promote weight loss. There's limited reason to support its ability to enhance a fat loss or improved by composition. At all you know like one. Recent study evaluated the effects of using note. This'll extract on mice with obesity. Despite like even though they were consuming similar quantities of food the mice that received milk thistle of lost like a this study the lost about five percent of their weight while the control group while they continue gaining throughout the study so abby next not really all that conclusive my opinion. I mean were like a handful of small human studies that evaluated the effects of that not fizzle on certain metabolic symptoms associated with obesity. But that's about it. Not look at things like insulin resistance and inflammation but none of these studies have actually specifically look at its ability to promote that laws like that was a part of the study and although the results like these results were promising. These initial results. I should say were were kind of promising. A single and study does not trust the to enough evidence reliably determine whether milk thistle can actually help with weight walls in union. So i guess it's clear to see that we'll be a bit more research before we could say that he does or does not work for weight malls bottom line and it's this is that milk thistle popular herbal remedy. That's been news for its therapeutic effects for centuries this we know there's no arguing that contains a variety of compounds that have been studied as a possible treatment for liver disease and type two diabetes. Pretty well known recently milk. This has been jerez and put out there on a platform as a tool for promoting weight loss. But i don't know the advocate supporting. This is super super at this point in time. There's just not enough evidence to indicate built. This has anyway most benefits for human had. I'm sorry if you if you think otherwise you had other information or other studies that say otherwise it may me. No i would love to take a look at these results. And even though i mean milk listless pretty safe to consume. We still have to keep in mind that he calls allergic reaction. Some big ones in these studies. This is what was found. Were people getting allergic reaction so again ultimate piece of advice easier to you all out mayor who That may be considering milk. Little is to consult your doctor or natural before adding it to your health and wellness routine and so all that said accent you guys. That's my chauffeur today. Valuable nothing else. I for a little sometimes. Sometimes data listening to me very much. "Don't know maybe you there are that they weren't that obvious because obviously a couple of days actually caught him by surprise. And i was like. Oh yeah. I suppose this is true but get into anyway. The first benefit is that it's so bird. low impact. No brainer right. I told you some of these obvious. And this is why net but but this benefit is great for so many reasons and because roadway is non weight bearing meaning. You're not any weights. This makes it suitable for people with certain joins us. So if you've got arthritis or if you're like me had experienced your share spring and toys the knees now you can feel the change in weather before the weatherman does your these quote unquote aches and pains like they can really make it extremely difficult for you to engage in high calorie burn slash high impact workouts. You know you get a more well rounded workout if you recuperate both movements out there if you try to add a rowing machine.

"Probably one of our most downloaded cases of all time. And you know what. I actually think that it's probably up there in the world of downloads. Because of your music not necessarily the look. It's a it's a gross disgusting horrific letter that serial killer. Joseph metheny wrote we were. I remembered pound serial killer five hundred pound serial killers what we called him. And that's because that's about. The cause is a fat ass. Well he you know he was a bigger guy when he got arrested for his crimes but he grew he continued to grow and expand while in prison and he seemed to have a good time in prison enjoying writing letters and becoming pen pals with people on the outside and that was just one of his many many letters he was only convicted of two murders suspected of several more and he claims he's one of these dudes ee lies about large portions of his life right and so he claims to have killed several more people than just too but he was a a monster that It's one of those chicken or egg situations right where you go okay. The drugs that he became addicted to they do this to him or was he already evil before he started down that path and of course one. We'll never know but before he passed away in two thousand seventeen he was pretty close. If not over the five hundred pound mark in. If you want to see you think that trailer scary the words that he says there. If you wanna google picture of joseph metheny there's some scary pictures say that and you know he's he just. It's hard to say that even looks Fat he just kind of a big dude. He looks on human right. isn't even look to be human. But yeah you're right. This was one of our more downloaded episodes. And i think a lot of it was. I mean look. That's good music there at the beginning of after but people don't know what the music sounds like before the download the episode. I think but i think he's a title. I found sierra killer. How can you pass that up. That's true you have to be you have to be a psychopathic serial killer to pass up that title so maybe from now on every title is just the weight of one hundred eighty five pounds here. He'll kill the convicted person and in followed by serial killer. Maybe that's what we do. We're trying to have a successful show after this conversation. Everybody's thinking to themselves. If they can do it. Why can't i well. You know what i. I'm thinking the same thing. Yeah hey hey. I a great idea. We should start a podcast and by the way we've had a lot of bourbon so yeah please. Please forgive us with god. It's angels n. vietnam. Which was one that was recommended to us by bob rough and i thought it was angels and the that makes this is what happens. All right. couple shout outs before we forget to do them. The bar you and be run. Jennifer in raleigh north carolina in the captain and krispy. Colonel love north carolina in the me of buffy in lake. Charles see this is what's weird about the the beer shoutouts right when somebody is from a city you say that they are in right so and so is in but when the city name is lake to say that they're in the lake that racism questions right so we say buffy from lake charles louisiana. Hey buffy you'll find yourself and you blew my mind. Hey buffy hopefully on the shores of lake. Charles yeah given. The tan is so frigging hot outside as humid. You go outside. it's thick. it is thick humid. all right so are we. To number one numero on all. Is that where we find ourselves. That i don't know. Why are we find ourselves. Where do you find yourself. Where do you find yourself if somebody told me Five years ago that we would have hit five hundred episodes. I would've said now not gonna happen. I was said maybe two hundred three hundred once we reached the fifty mark two hundred seemed obtainable. Yeah five hundred still seemed very well out of reach question for you then. Do you think we can do. You think we'll hit another five hundred so one of my favorite numbers. And i hate to be that weird guy but i've had enough bourbon that i can versus three now. One of my favorite numbers is nine nine. Nine nine hundred ninety nine so i would like to get to that point. Do you stop at that weird number or do you go two thousand stop at that. No i might stop halfway through that episode. Oh just get up at like you know you know that part where we come back from the from the commercial in the captain goes all right and we're back cheers everybody stealer. Everybody loves harley quinn bid. i mentioned this email about this. But i like. I love your speedo game. I think it's so fucking great. And i like i've started like swimming. I joined one of these like It's called masters program. It's basically like a like swim club that meets a couple of times a week and you do a workout together and i was. I was captain in my high school. Swim team where you that's cool. What was your event. I was one hundred breast one hundred fifty and hundred free relays and then a one hundred fifty fly in the medley relay depending on because it was because it was high school. So all the i i couldn't do anything over one hundred yards more or less. I've had to do the two hundred free a few times in just as punishment from the coach. But i never did anything over. I mean i wasn't skinny then either. I was hands down the swimming. Judges called me the linebacker. Because i was bigger than every other guy on every swim team because i was like one hundred eighty five pounds being on this swim team though. They're they're like big dudes. Who are so fucking fast. And that's because it's mostly about technique. It's more about like. How long can you stay in the water. Like how how straight can you make your body in the water. Yeah hydro mean like yeah. There's people of like all body types who were like fucking fast. It's it's cool. It's like a great equaliser. I think well as like without getting into too much personal history. But like that's how i got comfortable in. The water is playing basketball with my friends playing football and soccer with my friends. I got dominated all the time. Because i was overweight but once we're in the pool i wasn't a sweaty. My knees didn't hurt as much and it was like you're it was the equalizer and then it was like that felt so good to me that i got so comfortable in pools and oceans because and this stuff dovetails into fucking the speedo game. I was a t shirt and the pool kid. When i was super young engineer and i felt restricted by it in the water and maybe the official pool t shirt of people our age is like all black. Xl green day scher with the dookie album mart. I distinctly remember one time. My mom brought my t shirt to wear was a white ghostbusters t to go to the freeport center and it was instantly see through and way less flattering than just being shirtless. There's like suction down to my nipples. Looked show braun through my white shirt. People are like.

"And using my neuroscience background created a brand called rocket memory to teach people how to improve their memory and proceeded to enter twenty three different niche markets and built all these little niche websites and the process that we use vision to do. This is what's now known as a quiz. I wanna just draw audiences attention to something there. Okay so once you have this process you were able to build multiple recurring revenue business in a wide array of different fields from scrabble tiles. To caring for your orchids which by the way my orchid just died two months ago i wish i was part of that. Business carrying your. I'm still wrecked with guilt. I've been having sleepless nights because my occupied a violent debt but the key thing is this. How many of you here who listening today would love to be able to have your own business right. And the fact is the internet has given this. Incredible opportunity to doing secret is getting leads. And that is what we're gonna be talking about today. So ryan please continue. So did this twenty three different markets and then started attracting the attention of big businesses. That we're kind of seeing what we were doing. What i was doing and so companies like ako which is the parent company of paper brand here in the united states that is responsible for mead trapper keeper at a glance planners reached out. Companies like proactive. The skin care company reached out looking for help to builds a quiz funnel in their business to generate leads and customers online so started doing this and started working with a few companies that eventually led to these big acquisitions. I built a quiz funnel. In the gulf niche teaching people how to play golf that led to an acquisition by the broadcast company. Nbc here in the united states bill to quiz and the business funding space called lone builder which was acquired by pay pal for one hundred and eighty three million dollars and so it started having all the success in these different markets and decided to shift my attention to teaching other entrepreneurs how to do this. That golf business ryan. You said it. Quite because i remember reading about this. Remember that golf website where you created that correspondent. What did it get a quiet or you allowed to share. It was over eighty million dollars. What that simple now. What was that website again. The quiz that we created was for a brand called revolution gulf revolution gulf got acquired by nbc gulf. Pass for over eighty million dollars the brand now if you look at it online gulf pass so they rebranded the entire property to gulf pass and we built this funnel vision that at our peak. We were doing about ten thousand people a day. We're taking this quiz so we had ten thousand golfers taking this quiz building this massive audience of leads in customers in the process. And i remember because when i first started looking at your work i checked out this website because you referenced it in your book it's rising but it got quite for eighty million dollars so again key poincare to customer the person who's listening. Look maybe you build a nice acid revenue business. When i first started mind body for the first i was able to quit my job. The one year four thousand dollars a month from mind body but some of you may want to go deeper than that and that is the potential here building a company that could eventually be sold for tens of millions of dollars ryan. Please continue when i first got started. My goal was simple. And i quit my job at aig. My big goal my someday maybe goal mission was to make ten thousand dollars a month. I said i could make ten thousand dollars a month in passive income with a website online. It's all i would ever want and a few years ago. We past ten million dollars a year in the business. I'm about to talk about here. Which is our education business so after doing this for other companies. I kinda shifted attention. Something happened to me when i was thirty years old. My first son was born. And i started getting really sick. I started losing a lot of weight. If you're watching this on video right now about one hundred eighty five pounds right now drop down to one hundred and thirty pounds and at that time my wife said your father. You need to take care of your family. I think you need to apply for life insurance. In case something happened to i applied to life insurance and the life insurance application came back to not denied coverage so i called the life insurance agent. I thought it was a mistake. I said you know. I think my paperwork must have gotten crossed with somebody else's. I think it's a mistake. And the life insurance agent said it's not a mistake in fact i have your lab results from your exam and you need to sit down and he proceeded to read off what those numbers were going up the phone later that night my wife asked me she said hey saw we got that life insurance letter in the mail everything all set everything taken care of and i said honey not exactly. We need to talk. And when i explained to her the lab result she looked them up online and really broke down and i was in denial and so the next they went to the doctor's office explained to them. What happened doctor said. No problem will run some labs to corroborate the results to see if it's the same thing. Hang tight we'll be back in an hour. Wait in the waiting room. Our later. Dr comes back grabs me by the shoulders and says mr leveque. You should be in a coma right now. We need to rush to the emergency room and they proceeded to rush me to the emergency room. I was put in icu and intensive care and it turns out that at thirty years old. I was an undiagnosed juvenile type.

"More serious about bodybuilding because i stopped playing football because i blew my knee out for the third time and it was a rap. And i'm like i kinda fulfill this competitive nature was something you know And i started to research like bodybuilding. And then i typed the natural bodybuilding one day. Because i realized that i was looking at you know jay cutler ronnie coleman and all these guys and they're like two seventy and at the time i was about two hundred maybe two hundred and five pounds. Maybe two hundred and ten pounds. But i'm looking at these guys. And there's no way that they got that way without using some type of steroid or some type of drug and so when i typed in natural bodybuilding for the first time guys like dave. Gooden popped up philip ricardo. Junior doctor joe cleanser ski. Les norton on these names popped up and i looked at guys and i was like if i really trained and i really get my diet in check. Why could i not look like that in five years because already had the foundation right so i think a lot of young guys when they start lifting and stuff like that. They're they're so. They want the immediate gratification. I was totally okay with delayed gratification Because i realized that. If i'm gonna be healthy i don't want to be healthy for you. Know i don't want to be healthy for the right now in gained twenty pounds muscle in three months. Unlike i'm okay with gaining slow amounts of muscle throughout the duration of my life and never putting any exhaustion hormones in my physiology. That's essentially going to alter who i am. And so. when. I found natural bodybuilding. I realized that some of this is probably the biggest thing frank was. When i found natural bodybuilding and i realized that some of the best natural bodybuilders in the world were only about one hundred and seventy five to one hundred eighty five pounds. I said i can totally do that. Because you know i was like i think i need to lose. Maybe twenty pounds to be staged lane at the time. I had no idea. I would eventually need to lose like fifty But basically what i did is i bulked up to like two hundred and thirty pounds in college And then. My first natural bodybuilding doe. I ended up weighing in at like one seventy two. I lost sixty something. I think like sixty pounds. And i use the methods that i basically learned through my own education. Yes i have a degree. But they don't teach you a lot about nutrition in academia or at least directly applied nutrition in academia so a lot of the people that i learned from early on with people like dr jones ski. Who's like the oj of akron nutrient coaching And then we'll norton at the time they were the only ones that were putting out really good quality information that was teaching natural bodybuilders. How to be better natural bodybuilders And so i found this information. Like i didn't even have a laptop. I didn't have nothing. I had to go to the public library with some change in my pocket in print out these articles from the internet and start highlighting all this stuff about proteins. Fats carbohydrates out of formulated diet. Plan and all this. Yes so i myself with that information and education that i got from the public library Myself my first natural bodybuilding show took me about twelve to fourteen weeks And i won the overall. And from that point. In time i if i can achieve this look without using anything without using any steroids drugs whatever why will why would i ever need to take them. And there was never any interest for me to be a two hundred and fifty pound monster per se. Once i got down and as lena's i was at a hundred seventy five and again. This is where. I thank my parents for genetics is that i felt like i had a body that people looked at me. And they're like he's he has to be enhanced and so i never felt like i needed to use them to go into the mpc or the ifp and stuff like that. It was more so just. I founded nation the bodyboarding world And i tried to cross over a couple of times. I tried to go into the mtc. As a natural. And see how i would do. And i a couple office titles. And then when i went to the open in the mtc I would get like second place. Third place fourth place. And i realized that those guys that i was competing against most of them were enhanced In the time where i basically navigated away from ever wanting to compete in the nbc again. And there's no knock on the mtc page own Was when i was a bodybuilding show and it was a bit of a larger show here in florida and i saw somebody walk into the bathroom. Stall with a fanny pack on and when he came out of the dressing the came out of the bathroom stall with his fanny pack. I noticed that he had these like pin looking marks on his body so like his chest in his dealt and from what i know he just got done injecting like some synthetic or something into these areas to make his muscles look rounder and once i saw that i said i'm going back to the natural bodyboarding world. I don't really don't have any I really don't have any passionate about that side but again no knock on anybody that chooses to use performance enhancing drugs. It just wasn't my past you know. I know i'm not here to you. Know to knock anybody. Who's well i wish. Some of this stuff was more. You know it's hard to put these kind of things like out into the public eye but you know you see these you see these in and you had all these young kids coming up. And it's like they dream and they aspire aspiring. It's like they're only being shared really half the story. You know what you're talking about there on on this simple. I want to ask you to mind you man. That's what's it's like. That's what's attractive. And that's what's marketable to the person that wants to see it right like they don't want to see people that are one hundred seventy five pounds right. They wanna see the freaks they would they wanna see. The three hundred pound guys have been on stage. no And i think even if you look back to maybe the golden era of bodyboarding which was a very very articulate. Very aesthetic era That to me even enhance that to me is what bodybuilding could have been or should continue to be Just because of the fact that the guys yet were they using enhancers yes but was the look less of a freak show than it is now. Was it safer. i think it was. Yeah i mean. Look at look at guys like like arnold anyway. He's he's in his mid to late seventies and i mean he's still still living still out there. No active on you know whatever your thoughts on on what arnold is involved in now is besides point but yeah no he was truly the one that i mean leveraged bodybuilding to to get him to to the next level. I want to ask you a question about about self awareness. Because it's something that's just been like literally jumping out at me as you kinda shared from all the way growing up kinda you know realizing from a very young age at the situa like my family's not healthy and i know there could be something different and then as you got into school you're like i saw the kids that know. Maybe came for more in how they were not as grateful in they were seeking kind of kind of instant gratification. Where did you know. It's cared into to your bodybuilding careers will well. Where did this self awareness for you in your life. Did you have somebody from a young age. I mean i know you talked about kind of some trauma you know between you know your family home. So did you have somebody outside of the house that was speaking to you. That was shown you you know what self-awareness was her. Was it just kind of a natural instinct. No so it's amazing question. I think reflecting back on it. I just always respected my mother so much for what she went through with my dad and growing up and watching that that i never wanted to do anything in all honesty. I never wanted to do anything. That i felt like would negatively upset her or you know be harder for hurry within her life because she already had a hard hard road you know and then i also even from a young age. I knew that nobody in my family had ever gone to college. And so i had this kind of this internal pressure on myself to say you're good at this thing. You better make it. You know and so i never really wanted to do things that would alter that or messed that up. You know even back to high school My dad growing up. He was an alcoholic..

Which you know makes us think okay. Tussle didn't really change much in terms of the batteries there but they did note in the earnings report that they made changes to the batteries. Major changes to the modules yuan. They're still using those eighteen. Six fifty cells from panasonic But they have updated the chemistry or at least made some updates to the cell and battery architecture and general replaced those skateboard Visual image online. So it's it's definitely update in terms of the batteries but only see ten additional miles of range. Come out of that. I was pretty interesting especially when we look a little bit deeper and we noticed that the drag coefficient on the model s. has now been lowered from. I believe it was point two three before to now points two zero eight so that should definitely helped with the range. It's a pretty significant reduction in drag coefficient and then we've also seen them drop the weight so the wait for the long range model s now starts at four thousand five hundred sixty one pounds versus before. So i've got the way back machine pulled up here and this is from january twenty fourth. I'm not sure if you can see that. On the stream but from january twenty fourth the long range plus model s had a weight of forty eight hundred pounds so they've cut two hundred and fifty pounds out of the weight. They've reduced the drag coefficient so five percents rate reduction a significant reduction drake officiant and yet. We're only seeing ten more miles of range. This could be a trade off between tussles optimizing for in terms of energy versus power. Obviously the zero sixty on the stock in the long range right now has dropped from three point seven seconds before now down to three point one seconds so some of that could be impacting. The actual range that is happening from the epa tests. But if all else was held equal certainly expected a bigger range improvement from vizier. Point or the zero point two zero eight cd and the two hundred fifty pound weight reduction ver only ten miles only two percent more range two and a half percent more rain when they're cutting weight by five percent so we actually see a similar thing with the model x. As well flip over there so this current long range after refresh. We now have of starting weight and i think i think the drako fishing stay the same on the model x. but we starting wait Five thousand one hundred eighty five pounds on the model x. Verses here is again so this january twenty fifth so before the refresh. It was fifty four hundred thirty seven pounds so again similar. Two hundred and fifty pound reduction there almost five percent and only an actually in the case of the model x. We see arrange decrease so we had three hundred seventy one miles. Epa estimate before. And now we're at three hundred sixty so they only gained ten on the model last. They lost eleven on the model x. A to think that. I always this is pointing to me towards tesla potentially using less fewer batteries in the battery pack. Maybe that's not the case. Maybe these are software ltd but to cut that much weight to cut the drag officiant drako efficient and not gain more than ten miles of range. I think is pretty perplexing so dessel may have found a way to just you know they may have just said okay are target. Here's we're going to stay the same range. We're happy with these ranges and you know we think the customers are happy with these ranges. We're going to optimize for cost and just reduce the number of cells were putting in these new modules packs for the refresh That could have been an option or you know again. Maybe it's just that power versus energy exchange.
