"You're a capture one user and you've got a fancy new mac with the speedy m one chip you're going to be happy to hear that the image editing powerhouse now natively supports that m one chip and with quite impressive speed boost. I've gotta say those you shoot wedding sports and other things were files are just flying like crazy. You're going to be even happier to hear that. Are up to two times faster while managing assets is fifty percent faster. I don't know how fast that'll be in reality. But one thing i can guarantee is that people will still complain that it takes too long. That is probably never going to change people. Just don't have the patience that they once. Did things have to be instant or people freaked out now but let me tell you. Try editing things on my computer. I still have my mid two thousand fifteen amac that i started this podcast with six plus years ago. Yeah that's old. I also have my twenty eleven laptop. My mac book pro but i never take that outside the house. I mean that thing is a beast. It is heavy anyhow. My computer is fine for what i do. But it's definitely well pastime for an upgrade but after the year we had. That's probably gonna take a bit longer. I can only imagine how fast capture one is on a mac. Running an m one chip. It's gotta be a screamer. I just can't even imagine it now. Capture one took the opportunity. When apple announced that it was designing its own to re architecture it software their team worked specifically on the rebuild for native m one support nearly a year ago in july twenty twenty but it was two years earlier than that even that they said about updating their kobe's for non intel chips and as a result they gave themselves the ability to more nimbly pivot when these chip changes happen. chips sour cream and onion by the way for the win all day every day now seriously now..

"Enough phone we started talking about the holy grail of you based stuff which was proximity automation. I would say right now. The u one from my home pod next to my bedside annoys me more than it's useful because it always wants to do the speaker thing when you're close to the homepod also happens to be happened just like when i'm charging my phone but you know based on that you want information which we can now see if you've played around with Airtags at all. It's pretty cool and pretty powerful stuff. It'd be awesome to be able to automate. I'm in a room based off this. They'd sell a lot of airtags if they did this. You'd literally just put one on top of every doorway right. You could create beacons from airtags even without that much work from the current implementation. So i have to see this coming at some point in time now. But we don't know is. Are they using this more behind the scenes. Like one of the things they talked about on the watch. Os home update was that you would see related or relevant accessories that you had control now. Is that siri doing the thing. Where it's like okay. Well normally this time of day and your home you would be doing this or is it. Actually based on some sort of proximity could be based on proximity. No yet maybe. I'm being overly optimistic. The other thing that i'm curious about is that for this kind of tap to open technology for the locks. Is that going to be using the you one chip or is that purely. Nfc and again. I don't think we know about that. Yet yeah they didn't really say although the key for the for the cars was you won based i don't know that they explicitly said which it is. You know there's still lots of opportunity for growth lots of opportunity to improve things. Everybody's gonna complain that their thing that they cared about isn't there yet and it's not unlimited so eventually someday file a radar show up at the. You know if you're a developer. Show up at the home kit lab. Tell him you want this to good opportunity. I might just do that myself. Yes follow your own advice. There you go all right. Well that's going to be it for our coverage of the wwe dc news but we have a question from a listener. in fact we've had some questions from listeners that we have forgotten to include over the last few episodes. So we're going to be catching up for a little while. This one comes from joe and it's kind of directed at me so i figure i might as well just read this one. He says when you spoke about home bridge in the past mention that he was going to test the waters even though your guest erik basically called home bridge a toy. That's a little bit harsh. But i think what he says. Don't use it for anything mission critical. I have not paid attention to eric advice. I'm particularly interested in the plug in. And i wondered what richards experience has been. Knowing he's a proponent of instant i'm pretty invested in on with about eighty devices mostly switches and outlets currently controlled on a mac server using the indigo demotic software and a home kit plugging into go as an amazing software product. So good choice there since your show. I've installed home bridge on a windows. Ten server i had running for other purposes and installed both the ring and nest plug ins. And i've been very favourably impressed. I've not yet ported my indigo in stan environment. Over to home bridge to be honest. It's going to be a significant undertaking. So i have just put it off for now. The main reason i'd move it from the current bulletproof indigo installation. Is that as of this past december. The plug in developer has stated that he'll no longer be maintaining it and in addition to that the indigo team has instituted an annual subscription service. Ooh ooh and since i really don't that was me doing by the way since i really don't use much of indigo capabilities other than that instagram blog. In this'll be an added cost with little additional benefit in any event. I'd be eager as i'm sure other listeners would be to hear your updates. Also i just left you a five star review on apple podcasts. Yea thank you very much. We love five star reviews. As far as home bridge is concerned. I have as i suggested earlier completely. Ignored eric's advice. And i have been diving in and using stuff as a part of my regular home kit installation particularly as you mentioned those and ness plug ins. They plug the biggest hole with these ecosystems right now and they're both like rock solid. I've been really impressed with them. And i don't remember adam. Have you been messing with these as well. Yeah i was gonna say. I also did not follow eric's advice and yeah i'm using it for all my stuff as well. Yeah i i love for the ring cameras. It even comes up on the apple. Tv when someone brings the front doorbell so all the stuff that you want. You don't get as i mentioned earlier in the show homekit secure video through this but still. It's a lot of capability that you just otherwise wouldn't be able to integrate. So i i love it. I said nest. I meant ring. I don't have any new stuff in my house stuff. And i have that integrated too and i like that too so the real question is about the control of and i have to say that i have not been as impressed with the nci plug in for this. And there's a reason for that..

Yeah all right. It's time we talking to other things. Just before airtags a new color for the iphone who would be whoop de do what purple color. Yeah that's great whatever. I'm max good for families. I guess it's the twenty four models. Thirteen hundred dollars again and one chip. This is the first tether you doesn't want on a battery. Obviously at new form factor looks fine. The colors look very pastel and pleasing the fact that there's a touch highway on the keyboard is nice for user multiple users. It's a family computer. Yeah i wouldn't knock form factor as much as you. I think it being thin and having a low profile relatively smaller profile for a desk is great. We've fits in with the minimalist architecture that apple's been moving towards with these amax for awhile. You know the color. The color is never been my thing in apple across any generation. But i do think touch id. I liked the ethernet port on the actual brick instead of in the thing that simplifies some cable management microsoft surface. Yeah very much like you know like of things with apple. They didn't invent it. They just made these experience around it better. It's so thin. It looks like just like an ipad but in i macc form factor writes the they headphone jack. Had to be on the side. Because it's not thick enough deva through five zero s. trs on the back of. Apple Launches a New Remote

"What upgrades did we get with this new apple. Tv four k remote will. This was a long overdue. Refresh the change the color first and foremost it's now a much easier to find silver kind of like the older apple remote new directional pad as opposed to just relying solely on gestures which let the old or most recent apple tv remote had others new power button and siri. Button of the front of the remote is now relegated to the side. Got it so. I know you have a chance to use it. This was just announced yesterday in the presentation. But what are your early impressions of this thing. As before long overdue the original apple tv herbs sign up the original apple tv but the most recent apple tv remote had a bevy of issues for a lot of people. It's was very slippery it's small. It was easy to lose inside a couch. I don't know a as you mentioned. I haven't had a chance to use yet. This could still be all those things but on the surface. It looks like it's a lot easier to use especially because it has the directional pad as opposed to just using a track pad and the fact that it has the power button for turning on the tv is also easier. You could do that before on the apple. tv but now there's a dedicated button it just a step easier as opposed to having to find the right button on the original right colleague. David katz myer says that the remote control is the biggest upgrade to this apple tv. Four k box In terms of size you mentioned it was easy to lose that original controller like Impression that the upgrades. The changes were improvements. Made this new one will solve some of those annoying issues. It looks like it's a little bigger. Which should be easier to hold in also easier to find in the fact that it's the aluminum looking silver all around supposed to just on the back with but the previous from are having it all black front or largely black front mid easier lose. This hopefully will be more noticeable. I do wish however the they put in that you w one chip than the ultra wideband ship. So you could find. It was the same way you can find air tax. Wish they did. What to Expect From Apple’s “Spring Loaded” Event on April 20

"Apple is holding its event next week. What are we expecting. I think at this point with apple. You're probably looking at the next versions of the match. You're transitioning to you that emlyn remember back in the winter. We had the look air. The thirteen inch pro in the mac mini. Mike gut tells me in with an m one but other option is also that sixteen inch macbook pro. I figured you'd eat away on those and of course people have always been talking about this. Spring event is being the next ipad pro. Which could get 'em one chip or something similar to. Its as they continue that sort of weird mind meld between the tablets side and the computer stuff. That's an interesting suggestion. Do you think that they start. Converging the further or you think they'll keep them separate though still. Have some sort of aid chip processor for the ipad pro. I think the chips are going to become increasingly similar. Even if they use different letters for the the a whatever in the ipad pro and the whatever in the max they they may have different nomenclature essentially doing the same thing as the absolute negativity for those platforms become more and more similar sheila sophoclean however i feels like apple's business models still relied on keeping these two separate to the point where they had the ad with the kid using an ipad and such what computer they happened to kit. Goes what the computer. And that's more fanciful thinking on their part than reality. People take their ipads computers. Likely people think of their phones at as computers. Now i spend a good deal of of several days a week probably working exclusively from a phone getting the same stuff done. I would normally do city at a computer. We're not there yet. But i think the ipad pro comes very close to that if you have the right kind of keyboard in touch fan combo and frankly the latest. The latest macbooks feel very much like the ipad version of that because they are becoming much more. I think mobile century in terms of their native

Some investors clearly saw in announcement as a direct shot at intel with reported twenty six billion in revenue permits data center group in two thousand and twenty. That was a jump eleven percent. that's doctors had. Its worst day since late february. So how bad is this news. Though for pat gelsinger techy. Patrick moore had capturing that his copy still does both certain advantages invidia with his new service is targeting more of a niche market. Patrick says and intel's still the giants dominates about ninety percent of this market. No response from intel on that invidia news. There was also that big one chip summit today remember. President binds infrastructure plan does include fifty billion dollars to the american chip industry. Melissa back to you josh. Quick question on the niche market point. How big is this market. Or how profitable is this to make the such a big deal that they're going after specifically this narrow part of the market. You're going after what it's called the hp hp mortgage so that is a market that would include things like national lab laboratories like los alamos. That's why patrick moorhead. In his point was saying one. These are different. Intel as dominating about ninety percent of that service you market and patrick's point is that intel's focus is different. It's really targeting. More general business uses and cloud providers. But we'll see how it plays out and listen

She wouldn't let or she was apprehensive about leading members of not her family because her family is not in the picture Her husband blake his family. She's like i don't want anyone holding our daughter and set for you and i Which is weird. Because it's the only family that was involved. Was his family jazz. Kind of like an island unto herself. It's very odd when she was in her forties. So pretty you know. When around the time that she died she wanted an easy bake oven for christmas. that's very odd and i think it's not a ironic quirky out or it's a collector's item. That she's trying to collect now girl toys. It was that's what she wanted as a gift for us to have. One nacho chip melting cheese on one chip or one little like bundt cake little dollhouse bundt cake and she can affinity for only like being in a situation. Like i'm gonna take a nap and we just kind of peace out and just which listen. I resonate jealous absolutely. Yeah i mean. There's plenty like i don't want to be here anymore. No i wish. I wish i had the courage so you i'm gonna gonna. I'm gonna give that one to

Apple's future: A look at iPad, MacBook M1

"Sure that the ipad was on its way to replace the mac as those two platforms collided. Then keep the one macbook. So let's talk about the future apple those pesky rumors of a b. headset. This is your daily charge who begged pontificate about where all this is going. Then scott stein editor at large and apple expert so your commentary today looking at the potential merger of the ipad and mac book. But as you as you write today the perspective that you've had for awhile now shifted a lot because the m one you talk about that. Yes i've been. I've been trying out a loner. Unit of an apple. Mac book because i was curious and i heard great things about it and i thought okay and max work and i been mainly focused on looking at ipads and i've been writing about the ipad. Mac like dream merger for years like probably a decade and it did change my perspective in a way that i thought it might Apples chips on these are are trying to make max run a lot more smoothly instantly. Which is the territory. That i think i. I really put on ipads and on phones which was like. Oh this deferens really fast. It seems like get things done. Launched things quicker. Why can't you do that is easily on a on slogging laptop. Those problems having been solved on the on the air. And so well. I think also removes a lot of that uniqueness from the ipad and so it makes me wonder what is the ipad for and if and also if the mac can do this now really well with 'em one chip why can't the ipad to. Yes so it's interesting because you feels like it's a bit of a divergent for divergent idea from what you'd previously thought it was like. Do you still see these two platforms merging because it seems. Apple is intent on keeping them. Separate i think they have to merge and. I think apple's claims in this about keeping them separate or are posturing. Because i think that you know for years now we have been seeing them get closer and we've seen things introduced. That apple didn't seem what they were going introduced like a stylus or keyboard and track pad support You know things that are are transforming usb into Something that is more. Mac like were traditionally computer like but every year we get to this point of. When are we going to cross to becoming too doing even more in in the irs. Ripe pat os is more siloed off. It has advantages but it also holds back on flexibility. And i think in in a time of of lockdown where. I have not gone out. I need my home equipment. The mac book is extremely versatile. And i think that that versatility needs to flow more into the i. I think that answers my next question. I should ask anyways at this point. Like what do you find more useful and ipad pro the top line at that pro or one of these macbooks with an one processor. I think the mac book for what i do because you know what am i doing. I'm i'm i'm zooming a lot. I am testing out things. That may have extra weird browser hook whether it's a virtual sundance festival or stuff like that things that you know a lot of times were or zoom theater piece for what i cover. They will say we don't recommend an ipad for this. We don't recommend it you know. We prefer use laptop. So it's better safety zone for me for what i'm covering that being said i think i still feel like the ipads presentation for videos for for games as fantastic but no longer say that. It's the place for the best battery life or the best instant feel. I can just as easily. If you're shopping for an m one mac book you get that same thing you know and and that rock solid reliability is really impressed me so what really frustrates me is that people have to make a choice and i think apple made a really hard for people to decide and they launched these at different staggered windows. You where the ipad does not emerge at the same time and then then once it comes out. It's being seen as the computer of the future. So you know which one is. So i think they have to merge. Yeah you talked about some of the advantages of the ipad. Go into the am one like one that book on run apps really quickly you know. Obviously one of the key traits of an ipad over. Mac is still at touchscreens Touchscreen ever makes it over to the mac really right the macbooks. Apple's maximum the last domain. Were there's no touchscreen like everything else that i can think of is introduced it a long time ago. Were made a choice for some reason to maybe not super focused by touchscreen and stylus support shore or have it flip around be modular. You know. that stuff's been out there for so long. It's obvious. I think apple does seem focused on also people using multiple devices so there's always been a proposition of get both which is not realistic. I think if you get to a high enough price. The the ipad is cost as much as a mac book air. So why can't it be. Why can't those high end models be fully.

Dog Threads Designer Chases Coordinated Outfits

"My name is gina. Davis i am the co founder and ceo a dog threads. We are based in minneapolis minnesota. We were last featured on episode seven hundred and We design dot clothing in matching outfits or bloom pups. My husband and i started it as a side. Hustle can have just a passion project for our cup comments in two thousand fourteen. We couldn't find any clothing that we thought matched human like personality. We wanted him to dress. More human like like scotts wardrobe and i was designing women's clothing at the time so we decided to just create a couple designs for him ourselves and people would stop us everywhere we went and ask where we got them and long story short. We decided to start. You know just the side business doing it on Layton weekends together and it was right when instagram started to take off and apparently we weren't the only ones looking for quality threads for their dogs so People started asking for it. We couldn't keep it in stock and In two thousand seventeen. I decided to leave my full time job. To focus on the business. We also launched matching outfits for men women and kids around that time which has done incredibly wellness. Actually the the majority of our business at this point last time we were on the show at believe we were doing around two hundred fifty thousand dollars. In sales we are continuing to grow our direct to consumer market. We also partner with different wholesale accounts retailers but our main focus is definitely d to see sense. Our episode with you guys. We actually were on shark tank season. Eleven about a year ago and we've almost doubled our sales Since being on the podcast with you guys so just really focusing on growing the business and Scaling dot fully but also As quickly slow. One chip i have seen since the beginning of working apparel industry. Over fifteen years ago is a lot of people make the mistake when they want to start an apparel business specifically. They tend to copy what they see as popular. Maybe they change it slightly but they see growth in an area and so a can of knockoff. A popular design and that almost never works out successfully might gain some traction. But you're not gonna gain a really dedicated customer. I don't believe in create a brand story that you need to to be successful in an industry like ours where you can't patent apparel design So i think the most important thing is coming up with a design that is unique and authentic to you in a real reason of why you're creating it to fill gap in the market and then staying true to your brand and gray density not just copying. What you see is popular out there. Which is tough to do. Because know there's so much inspiration out there and there's so many credible companies that i think everyone looks around. They're like tempted to go a different direction. Just when they see something that's shiny new awesome But i think just trying to always go back to yourself said his authentic to you and your company and staying true to that is stepping. What's most important in our industry. Thank you so much not really appreciate those updates and it was great for me to be reminded of dog threads. I remember working on that episode long ago and thinking. This is the coolest thing as you heard. They were doing something like two hundred fifty thousand dollars a year when we first had them on the show and now they've doubled it Lots of other improvements as well so it just a couple of comments here. Gina was talking about how a lot of times in the fashion world people just kind of do knockoffs and they look at something. they're like. Oh that's cool and they make something a little bit like that and as you just heard from her like she's like i don't think you can create a brand story which is what you need to be successful in. An industry like the fashion industry right. So a brand story is this narrative customer loyalty that trust that people kind of give overtime or you could say a brand builds up over time. Depending on which perspective you're looking at and that is the real value in a business like doctrines which by the way. Gina pointed out to a separately. The pet industry is pretty much recession. Proof like during the pandemic animal. Adoptions have gone way up already had pets have been spending a lot more time with them so dog threads is well positioned

"Coming soon to millions of odroid phones qualcomm has unveiled. Its new snapdragon. Eight seventy chip which has a similar design to the eight sixty five and eight sixty five plus but is clocked at three point. Two gigahertz making it about ten percent faster than the eight sixty five. Quoting the verge. Think of it almost like a snapdragon. Eight sixty five plus plus qualcomm says that the reason for the new chip is in response to manufacture market demands. The eight seventy is designed for companies that want to offer a top tier processor. But don't need the absolute best features the flagship snapdragon eight eight offers and the higher price tag that it demands instead. The company says that it expects that snapdragon eight seventy pounds should hit a sub eight hundred dollar price tag. Although confusingly we've already seen snapdragon eight eight eight phones like the seven hundred and ninety nine dollar galaxy s twenty one. Start to bleed into that range presumably. There's also a marketing aspect here. The snapdragon eight seven new branding and modest if still real speed improvements over the snapdragon eight sixty five plus mean that companies using the chip in their phones. Get a new twenty twenty one chip to boast about on spec sheets without concerns of getting looked over by customers for having an outdated or old processor eight sixty five or eight sixty five plus and quote

Really just wonderful, especially that nose with that, Elijah I got myself decided that bit of cinnamon that bit of syrup that that kind of raisin as fingers described it, the kind of rum flavoring in there just glorious and then and then that pallet that has a good amount of fruit. I got a fair amount of the oak out of it. I have it just on a one chip. That's all I did, and loving every second of it. It just feels like it's keeping me nice and toasty and warm. I absolutely love it. And this cigar that we're doing is exclusive to where we are, which is blend Bar Cigar, where we're recording in Indianapolis, but they're in Nashville there in Houston. They're there in Pittsburgh, and they made their own and they do a lot of work with diving off. So this is Dominican. So it starts off in a tip that foot is that a tip and it will slowly engage. So that draws a little more difficult when you start but you utilize a V cut. Get in there, and you could really open up the cigar without Damaging this car without losing any of the length of this cigar. And there's really just, um miraculously, ever. If you look where you are, you might find the Royal Salamone from diving off. You'll find others in this shape. We chose these because it's been a rough year way. Just wanted to celebrate. We're celebrating with a $95 cigar. We don't smoke $95 cigars on average. We don't You know, $95. And you put a fair amount of it if you would, or if you're doing it right on, dear reasons, too, sometimes try the things and of course you can't have the holidays. Without the gift pack from Hillshire Farms now I saw these when I was a kid. Growing up. They were in the mall. I grew up in New Jersey. Mama Small Eatontown, New Jersey, Hillshire Farms had the kiosk. I do a fundraiser for the Salvation Army every year with my with my home station WNBC in Indianapolis. And we raised hundreds of thousands of dollars every year for the Salvation Army. Very, very cool. Happy to do it. And every year this is there. Thank you. It is the meat and cheese box. So you've got a summer sausage have a beef summer sausage. There's a there's a cheddar, which is right there Fingers. There's there's a Gouda. There's some some lovely mustard and then some some crackers. You could have some rounds from Valley Lavash baking company if you want Cracker right there. I have never eaten out of the hill sharp farm thing before I almost serious Now I've done this so many times that maybe I've tried it, and it's the kind of thing like the way this is wrapped this this summer sausage. This is how we used to do salami growing up as a kid. It would come in the tube, but it was Hebrew national, right? I grew up a group in a kosher home for part of my life, you know, so there were no summer sausages that were available. You grew up with this. Oh, absolutely, You know, taking a bite of the somewhere if we're gonna do the whole flashback thing is a kid, You know, I grew up in Saginaw, Michigan Fashion Square Mall. Had the carts and the two things you would do you know, around holiday times, you go to Sears and serious had the candy counter back in the day. Where had what a candy counter. Really? Oh, I went to Sears by now. That was a big deal. I mean, it was almost like a fanny farmer type place. You know, it would have a huge counter and all the candy was underneath the glass. You could buy bulk candy and popcorn and all that It was a special treat to go there and then on the way out, you'd stop and get Hillshire farms. Gift pack, and that would be part of the holiday traditions. It is for people, and every time I get it, I actually turned something like What am I supposed to do with this? And then? Like you're supposed to eat it on and it just It never dawned on me that it would actually be good. The beef sausage is lovely, by the way. Definitely a fair amount of salt in here. What else you can expect from coming from a my sausage, right? But the consistency is right. It's got a good little bit of flavor. Going on there. I didn't do the full Someone I'm sending you home with that fingers. Why we're going there and doing it with the process. Cheddar cheese Right now. You made yourself a little sandwich. Absolutely. You gotta have the cracker and then the meat and then the cheese on top. That's the view. So you're telling me that? Did you eat this a Christmas? Did you eat this around Christmas Like Is this what you did, and then created a whole little tray about it. And Mom would slice everything up. Or did people slice their own? Because this came with the night that came with a little like cheese knife that, um, I don't know if this would cut anything else, but certainly cut the cheese. Well, they're headed there. No, we would have the tray, and it will be next to Mother Molloy's Holiday hooch during the Thanksgiving episode. And no, That's that's what you would snack on before the meal. You have this nice meat and cheese tray from Hillshire Farms. Who, by the way would make an excellent sponsored by now. They would now that I know I went this long. I'm this many years old before I drive the whole star farms. The cheese itself. Guess it's cheddar. I'm gonna say this way. I guess it's cheddar..

Here's a first look at Apple's $549 AirPods Max headphones

"I wanna talk to you about the airpods max. There was many rumors this fall that these were coming and being mid december. It looked like maybe we're not gonna get it before. Two thousand twenty one but no early on tuesday morning apple announced and released the airpods max. They went up for sale. I think it was like eight thirty in the morning and to everyone's shock and awe and let's just talk about now five hundred and fifty dollar price tag for the airpods. Max i would love to have your initial thoughts not only on the price tag but on the name. Because i kind of wish. They went with studio because the rumored codename airpods studio because they're over the your headphones with the cups. Noise cancelling airpods max. I don't know it sounds a little funny. What do you think william. I did as she laughed when i saw the name but only because apple keeps used to keep everything secret and now everything seems to come out but they hit us with a new name. We weren't expecting and that did the same with the apple a. m water. It is like there's a naming department that can keep a secret. I agree studios san sense better so these headphones they're very expensive. They're five hundred and fifty dollars despite that they're basically sold out until march if you try to buy a pair now it'll say twelve to fourteen weeks shipping time so even despite the price very popular you can actually go and watch him hd. And i just actually have these. They did initial videos unboxing and some initial thoughts. I'll put those links in show notes as well just kind of a quick specs. These are over the ear cups headphones controls on these. It is all physical controls. There's a large digital crown on one of the earcups that you'll use to adjust volume or you can press it down for siri. And then there's also another button to go from transparency to noise cancelling mode so they have a lot of the features of the airpods pro. They have spatial audio. They can do dolby. Atmos and seven point. One surround virtually in the headphones. So that's all very cool but a couple of the noticeable omissions will say no power brick in the box so with your five hundred and fifty dollar headphones. You do not get a powerbook to charge you. Do get a cable. You get a usb c a lightening cable so you can charge it with one of the twenty usb c charging that apple will sell you but it also does not come with the cable to physically connect these headphones to an audio source. If you would like that you have to pay an additional thirty five dollars for a lightning. Two three and a half millimeter cable to plug into an audio source and again the fact that they went with lightning on instead of usb bbc. I'm not sure i feel about that. But those are the omissions and again on that price tag at least put the cable in there. I don't know that's just me. What do you feel wind. Packwood's and i agree with you. That seems wrong. I know we got loose. Packers have old ones. So i don't know how much use they would be i. It never occurred to me to think about a physical connection with this their wireless headphones release anything else. But actually yeah. If i am a musician pro use a full who. This is a bargain but a worthwhile cost. I'm likely to want to better connection wireless bluetooth so yeah on quite taken aback. Especially if you cross into that audio file realm and one of things. I'm going to do with it I did order a pair though becoming tuesday. So i'll be able to talk about him on next week's episode personally but i'm actually a classical music fan. I don't think i've ever share this with amish on the podcast. But i'm a classical trumpet player. That's my wife degree. yes i love. Actually listening to classical music. Believe it or not and so. I'm very curious to see how these sound. On some of those mozart requiems and brahms symphonies at to see the audio quality is really up to snuff. But for five hundred fifty dollars should sound amazing. You know per se. Obviously this is in comparison and in competition with headphones. Like the sony w.h. Xm fors which usually cost like three hundred. Three hundred and fifty dollars was like attuned dollar premium for these and the bose noise cancelling headphones seven hundred are very popular. Those are around three hundred and forty dollars. So you're getting two hundred to two hundred and fifty dollar premium to pay for these airpods. Max so i really hope have to imagine that the sound quality is excellent. But you're also paying for apple's features like the h. One chips the ability to the noise. Cancelling connect your devices seamlessly switch just like other airpods and airpods pro another cool feature to the cups. The ear cushions that are on the headphones are actually connect magnetically. And so if you want to replace the earcups for whatever reason they come off very easily and attach very easily as well and hd shows that had his video looks pretty satisfying and you can also get replacement ear cushions again. Not cheap but seventy bucks on apple you can actually order them now in the apple store and on their website but you can get replacement cushions for seventy dollars again in the future if you need them and you can mix and match colors. There's actually a cool chart you know if you will have to get the space gray headphones and put some blue cushions on it. You can be fancy like that if you'd like but again you're paying a premium for all these. I don't know. I'm curious to try them. But these don't tempt you at all as i once used the bose actions that you mentioned don. I was very impressed on. I do like us. I'm more of a malla guide. The mets on no. It doesn't tempt me. Except there is one thing this one specification you've just kind of lewd to skipped a very good. That is crucial. What color did you buy on. I won't with space gray because the size of these. I mean they're large. They're over the ear headphones. And i like to be discreet when i'm around other people the rare times that happens and so white white was tempting. But i don't have so much you know every other airpod is white and i didn't like the green or the pinkish red color. Blue was the only other one that tempted me. But i don't know. I just went discreet. I want black now. You wouldn't touch. That's what it is so next day. Jiang at a party somewhere. Nobody's gonna notice because she didn't have blue headphones. That's what i would have gone full blitz. Obviously the blue did look very nice. i was tempted. Also attempt to engrave these. I've actually never engraved an apple product. I don't know why i just have never done. It and i was very close to engraving these. But i had a moment of. I don't know what to put on them. And i know shipping. Times are gonna slip. So i just four went the engraving and just sorta without. But i'm curious william. Have you ever engraved an apple product. No because of always thoughts. And i'm gonna pass it on somebody else or might resell it to somewhere right. So it's been like having a set to somebody on their name. Just you break up with something. It feels wrong in a weird way. It feels like it's studies the the pristine finish of the device as well especially if you wanna resell it. That definitely makes it more difficult but I know you have tons of tattoos. You have sleeves don't you. Have you have tattoos all over please. I'm not illustrated unless you know what you said about coming up with something to say. I know whatever. I had written on me. I would change my mind magic instantly and want to me. I did work with a young writer. Who said she was aiming to have some text for every significant part of her life tattooed on and i wished to long life and much fatness so that you have room okay. Well staying on the grieving for a second. I saw that in addition to letters you can actually engrave emojis on apple products. Now you can choose emojis if you'd like. So here's my question to you william. If you could engrave any emoji apple device what emoji do you think you would choose. Would it be the winking smiley face sticking out the tongue or would it be money flying away. What do you think is the money involved here with page to do this. I give you twenty bucks. Yeah i need more need more. I need a lot more needs to pay for the hedge funds and then i feel that's nice cost parlance I'm i'm a writer. I can't bear emojis next. Particularly i had a message from a singer songwriter. I profoundly admire but it was all in emojis. And i have no idea what she was saying. It was just. I think it's gonna start communicating with you william. I'm gonna do all emojis from now on well good by sending emerges did not sending me pat. That's where you're going wrong. You sending the wrong listen. Listen we'll see when that when the next ipad comes out the battery life on my ipad. I don't know what's going on but it is I don't know. It's a little rough. When i edit podcast. It's great at any at any other time. So that new model comes out. I don't know we'll see you keep playing this long game gas lighting me. I'll just send it off without even thinking about it.

Apple Releases Revised Version of iOS 14.2 for iPhone 12

"Let's begin with apple. News apple release fourteen point two but he was a interesting released of this on the past but he was specifically for the iphone. Twelve meany and fixing text messages on a couple of other box so they have done these days and i think part of the reason they have done. This is to avoid leaking This is not the first time they needed it. But pay if you got a an iphone twelve meaning make sure that you update to the the last of the reid version of this Our next one is About talking about features of Big mac os or and you know now that they've been using it more Even dad is still is not my main machine. I'm continue impress of how well certain things work. In comparison to catalina again. I'm mike book is not mike main driver. My main drivers pat but there is still things that i do in in the macbook. An ibm impressed. How my old. I have an old mike. Macaire two thousand thirteen because there is no reason to upgraded but dad now having the same messages between the ipad and macbook. Dad has been nice because it was something that you know a lot of times you get down and get a message from just go. Pick another device because he was so annoying how that works so there are things like that that has worked incredibly well Interestingly enough i was really looking forward for the ipods switching between the devices and dot has turned to be a nightmare it may be. Because i have too many of them. I don't know but a lot of times. I am on a coal on the and then i moved my head or change device on suddenly i lose the call that has been annoying their ways to fix it you can tell them basically disable they switching but it was something that i really was looking forward. The romantic idea of yes and grabbed the other device and change out the medically am. I really didn't thought about yet. But what what when you're using multiple devices in the same call That do not work as well as i planning my mind our next Item is creek for the regency talking about running native window on the aim. One and on the new max chipset then us. On the reports we have seen has meaning credible On this chipset and it makes sense. I mean they integrate everything they made it in a really nice way and even the reports we have seen on his speech on on the mac sunday comparisons between the old macbooks macbook pro with the new ones are really incredible on so many ways so there is a lot of people wondering can i put windows in this thing and so far you cannot. I was reading over the weekend. Somebody ready port i version of it nut deficiency microsoft version but as for the for the rugged said it's up to microsoft and base it on what we have seen on the news lately about other companies looking to get into this arm. I may see us a possibility that they really jump into this one. I'm i'm skeptical. I think that you know eventually you know someone will make microsoft windows at least version. Ten work on the m one chips The reality though is that apple is I even heard linus torvalds the progenitor of the olympics colonel which we all know is running a people say lennox. But it's really the open source operates on top of that and the you know the whole notion of the m one chips is that apple is moving into this more island unto itself architecture creating a a privacy wall around their entire ecosystem and they're only letting in those who they want to let in and So i'm really curious whether or not this is really there Shot across the bow to all suffer developers. You'll all you know folks. Generally that they're going to be controlling this. And if you wanna play with them you've got to play by their rules and they do it now. 'cause they're making the chip they're making you know they're making everything So yeah. I'm i'm not particularly interested in running windows on a mac anyway but i think that you know seeing folks kind of bend the rules and making it work will be interesting to watch.

"one chip" Discussed on KGO 810

"You know this past couple of weeks about the apple M one chip, you know, there was an announcement last week that Hyundai Motor Group You know, South Korean manufacturer that owns the Hyundai, Kia and Genesis brands. Uh, has decided to use in videos. Parker system on a chip. Uh, too, For all of their forthcoming vehicles they've already started with the new Genesis G A T and G V A T. Um, to power the infotainment system and I was just driving the G A T last week on has got this beautiful 14.5 inch display, you know, across the middle of the dashboard. Really pretty graphics on and you know it. Zagat this in video Parker assoc in there, But you know you've been talking about how great this is apple and one ship is and you know, it certainly seems like it is And I was thinking that, you know. Ah, Microsoft has been messing around with Qualcomm chips for some arm computers. But, you know, I'm surprised that nobody has gone to in video because in videos got some amazing s OSI's and they're about to buy arm so yeah, that will be interesting Play. Yeah, The Parker you know they're using for the infotainment is an older design, but they have a newer chip called Egg Xavier. That is has first went into some production vehicles starting this year, a couple of models in China and we're gonna see it on the lucid air next year. Powering your driver assistance systems. And this is, you know, really impressive chip. This the chipped as 30 Trillion operations per second. Yikes. That's the one that's in the picture there. Like the apple and one it has eight armed cores in it. Wow, it has a name. Video voltage GPU in there with 512 course it's got Tensor cores for machine Learning on you know, the Parker is is similar just but it's older and, you know, less powerful, but slower that you know it's got machine learning cores in there you've got, you know 10 gigabit per second Ethernet bus in there all the image processing to take in this sensor data. And process images and just imagine what somebody could do if they if they stuck that into into a laptop computer. Yeah. Well, but this is where the world is headed, which is custom silicon designed specifically for the tasks it'll be doing. Um, e think it's very It's an exciting time E mean Computing's been an exciting time for 20 years. That's why I'm doing what I do. But it's an even more. It's getting more exciting all the time. And these custom chips for automobiles. What kind of what will that enable? What will they make possible? Having a source. Smart chip in your car. Yeah, So you know, in the case of the Parker chip that's powering the Hyundai stuff. It's also being used by Mercedes Benz in their latest entertainment called M B U X, You know, they're using it to power, much more advanced voice recognition systems. You know, they're they're doing natural language processing..

Weve got the MacBooks with Apples new custom M1 chip

"So before we get your verdict. Which maxed it send you. They send the mccullough. And how long have you been using them. you know. it's only been since late last week. Just just a handful of days. But i got all three of the new maximum. Have the chip in them. And that's the macbook air macbook pro and also. The mac mini that little desktop. That apple forgets about trip. You have been comes back to every once in a while all right so bottom line. Do they look to hype. I would say they live up. To some of the hype. The hype is a little bit preliminary because a lot of things that you may want to do with these max requires software does not optimize for them yet running emulated mode but the two big things i think consumers are taking away from this are number one. The mac book air has lost the fantasy fan list system which is nice and a lot of ways that is true and also in the preliminary testing. I did battery. Lights is fantastic. So that is that is true. Big thing so they think they have definitely lived. Up to the hype. Let's take the one time. We'll show the mac book air because that is far and away the most popular in the macbook lineup. How has been macbook air. Been for you and fan configuration. Is there a real difference in the experience. Gm run quieter. What exactly how exactly is it. Running this thing in the back. Bogere has always been one of my favorites. I used to call it the most universally useful laptop you can buy. It's just a great middle ground for a lot of people to we start from whether you're from serving what laptop to get usually. It's not that loud but sometimes it could give that fan kicks in and it's like a playstation for you just hear out of nowhere this big speak fan doors. You're like that happening my lap right now. That's that's crazy. Because he'll it's doing a lot. I get it even even the base Macbook air just ships with a you know intel core. I three or did until until recently. So i tested the early twenty twenty match booker. This thing was just refreshed back in like march with the new m one version on the outside. They look the same. They haven't changed the body if you're looking for great new developments like extra ports or touchscreen or hcf or anything like that. You're not getting any of that. It's all on the inside. The big changes are the they got rid of the fan replaced it basically with aluminum heat spreader which just as a big you know heat sink that dissipates heat and of course got that m one chip in it and at least in the testing i did. Obviously it's much quieter because there's no fan fan. I'm a fan of removing moving parts. That the tutor on the fan of not having a fan and removing moving parts wherever possible so anything fan spinning hard drives optical drives. That's the stuff that breaks down while the most frequently when we talk about the game consoles i think one of the big advantages of the older ones had spinning drives and spinning hard drives. And that's breakdown parts that boot so when you get rid of that stuff you actually have a more reliable product and when i ran a battery test on the air it ran for almost seventeen hours on my video streaming test which the little bit a little bit not much a little bit tougher. The test apple does and they said they got eighteen hours out of it and that is that's a big thing right though the big song point here is this thing because fewer moving parts runs off of his mobile processor to last a lot longer. You think hold up over time or is that this is a new mac book or new battery impression and it it aware down time for that that difference whereas down over time i think apple is going to send a strike team to your house now because you call the what bobo processor. And they're gonna to get a phone a phone and it's true in some of the early you know people accidentally uploaded benchmarks of preliminary units of these over the summer And they were listening to having the asx fifteen in the words or something similar basically a version of the ipad and iphone chips and apple has at least name this ship something different they call the m one which again does say mobile to make. But it's a computer version of it. with You know it's got it's got four high efficiency courts and four high-power cores though we can do both very strenuous stuff but also chill out on the high efficiency course and not use a lot of power. You know listen. Any rechargeable battery will lose steam over time. You know that. Said if you have a mac book from a couple years ago you've definitely noticed like it doesn't say charts as long as you shop sure that will be true year. But i'd rather start with seventeen hours and twelve.

MacBook Air with Apple's own M1 chip is faster and has better battery life than Intel-based predecessors

"And speaking of that our final blizzard of reviews for probably this year blue in this morning the embargoes for reviews of macs using the new emlyn ships broke this morning. Let me get two of the devices out of the way before we focus more on the meat of the interesting stuff. Which in my opinion is the mac. Air all include links to these reviews in the show notes even if we don't delve into all of them deeply at the verge chris. Welsh says the mac mini with the new ship is a mixed bag. Existing apps run well and the price is certainly appealing but with ram limited bizarrely to sixteen gigabytes and the inability to upgrade that ram and since it doesn't support external. Gpa's could you really run this as your main machine. His conclusion though was mostly positive. Quote spending a few days with the twenty twenty. Mac mini has shown me that it's a barn burner of a miniature desktop. It outperforms most intel macs in several benchmarks runs apps reliably and offers a fantastic day to day experience whether you're using it for web browsing and email or for creative editing and professional work that potential will only grow an apple inevitably raises the rams ceiling and hopefully bring back those missing usb ports. These six hundred and ninety nine dollars. Starting price is tempting but most people will be better off upgrading to sixteen gigabytes of unified memory. Which puts you at eight hundred and ninety nine dollars. Doubling the default six hundred and fifty six gigabytes storage makes that cost climb higher to one thousand ninety nine dollars but even then the price to performance ratio for the mac mini has never been better than with this. Change over to apple silicon. Even if you ignore iphone apps completely transition is off to an impressive start considering just how smoothly everything comes together. And just as ever the mac. Minis flexibility is what makes it special and quote. Also at the verge. Neil patel tackled the macbook pro with the chip and he concurred great performance. Great display great battery life but again why ram limited to sixteen gigabytes and also this kind of got lost in the shuffle of the original announcement but only two usb ports only two period only to on a pro machine guests. I'm gonna be holding onto this last macbook pro with actual ports and sd card reader and hdmi etc until it literally is on its last legs. Anyway knee lies conclusion quote. There are two things to say about the thirteen inch. Macbook pro with 'em one chip one. The m one and the work apple has done to make a difficult processor. Transition seamless remarkable success and to this particular mac book. Pro doesn't necessarily seem like a worthwhile upgrade over the macbook. Air with an m one chip. Yes it offers slightly better sustained performance and a little more battery life than the air. But i would happily trade back. Those seconds of faster rendering time on the pro for the hours of frustration caused by the touch bar. And if you have much more serious performance needs it seems likely that you might want more than two ports sixteen gigabytes of ram and only one external display so. This machine is a twitter. An excellent fascinating twitter buddy between her nonetheless and quote

ICYMI: Those superfast new Apple Macs

"It's jefferson graham talking tech. I wanted to fill you in on apple's latest announcement which is three new computers with the new. M one chip as always apple says the new computers will be faster and they'll have better battery performance. Want to hear more. Let me fill you in. So the macbook air the thirteen inch macbook pro. Not to be confused with the sixteen inch which doesn't get the new chip. And the mac mini all the new chip so from what i picked up from the presentation. It's really the mac mini. That will be the most radical because the mac mini has always been a slower computer Aimed at people who just didn't want to spend a lot of money on computers The new one is seven hundred dollars you do. Have you do have to add in a monitor on top of that but it sounds like a pretty nice little thing to have on your desk Apples calling the chip. The emma one. They end basically if you ever get bored when apple in their presentation just tells you over and over again. About how fast these things are you snooze during this presentation because they really went into hardcore geek. I look forward to the increased power. I've not had that much trouble with my macbook pro. It's pretty fast as it is. My main issue is noise. you can get really noisy. The fan Is kinda loud and they said that one of the new computers is not going to have a fan. So i'm excited about that. Beyond that apple said the new operating system which is called big sur will be out on thursday. I look forward to seeing that. But i would recommend that everybody wait to download it to make sure that any of the apps that you're using

"Well now we have the prime minister and parliament ordering US troops to leave Iraq I mean what what is the prospect now that that will happen to that's a really interesting thing playing out because while the Iraqi government parliament and the prime minister who was a caretaker prime minister as actually house the US government to send a team here to begin drafting a withdrawal plan US commanders that we speak with say they have not received any new mission they're basically it's still business as usual although suspended and by then it means they still have the mission they have not been told to begin it was strong but they've basically suspended their operations they're not training they're not helping Iraqis fight ISIS but there are still fifteen hundred troops here on this space and what they're doing we're told is protecting the base and doing a lot of drills and what do you hear from Iraq is about the prospect of the United States leaving if if that becomes you know some reaction might happen so it was really polarized there's the Iranian backed militias which basically we've seen control large part of the security forces and the thing is the the malicious or inter twined with parliament with political parties those that's the main driving force for American forces to leave and the prime minister's caught in the middle of the for instance when I go down to ten for square where there's been anti government protests since October a lot of young Iraqis in particular tell me they want Americans to stay they want good relations with Iran they want good relations with America and you know some of them go further and say they believe that the fact that American forces are still in Iraq means that they're protected somewhat from these malicious that are trying to kill them that that probably is not true but it it does give them a certain comfort that US forces are here in town interest in around speaking to us from outside air base in western Iraq this morning Jane thanks a lot thank you cities in the American west are trying to deal with homeless encampments that are getting bigger and more visible they remind some people of Hoover bills where hundreds of thousands of Americans live during the Great Depression California has the highest number of tent cities and here is Eric Westervelt went to one and he brought us back this Santa Rosa sprawling tent in tarp villages frustrated and divided residents sparked a recall effort and heated debates over poverty and inequality in cinema county is one country all they call me cowboy the my name is Charles Gibson and I'm living on the trail here wiry frenzied with a few missing teeth Gibson got his nickname he says because he always cowboys up for other people despite the hardships of life among broken pallets and soggy tense this massive camp isn't hidden in the woods it's right on a popular biking and jogging path Gibson and some two hundred others been living for months in a grassy drainage ditch that straddles the path and highway twelve I mean commuter artery into the city Gibson concedes the campus serious problems with garbage and rats in adequate toilets and some drug use but he says it has a sense of community should should struggle for anybody to keep warm and keep your heart and had like a strong do the best I can and you know it's very hard to know Gibson pushes a shopping cart towards his tenuous patch of grass at the tent next to his an older woman pops her head out shouting obscenities at no one in particular people need to open up their eyes and realize they could end up like this a lot of people are one chip away homelessness is a nationwide problem but it's particularly severe here in California a new federal hud report estimates the state has more than a hundred and fifty thousand homeless including those in shelters overall the state has more than half of all on shelter homeless in the nation meaning those living outdoors given the growing disaster governor Gavin Newsom is just proposed more than one point four billion in his new budget for state and local efforts on immediate housing and services he's also ordered state agencies to do more to help find temporary sites including decommissioned hospitals are on used land for the state's expanding homeless encampments I never thought that I would drive past a mile long shanty town on my way to work in it that's the reality that we're facing right now in cinema county that's county supervisor Linda Hopkins whose district includes the homeless camp there's just no room for error right now there's no safety net in my opinion it just showcases the failure of government at all levels to meaning flea have a safety net for human beings the first term politician is now facing blowback from those failures a few angry constituents are working to recall her their petition says she's failed to actin calls the homeless encampment a public cesspool that's ruining businesses and homes in fact Hopkins is help lead efforts to find solutions including emergency funds to a complex problem that cuts across issues addiction and mental health treatment rising housing costs stagnant wages and poverty complicating attempts to find a solution here include a local in junction and a federal court ruling they hold that homeless people have a right to camp on public "Bill Jackson there is anywhere else on using yeah now your trending topics monetary and social media posts among our listeners in DFW Ernie and around the world these are the training topics folks also programming update don't forget to tune in for the one chip challenge at six thirty it just won't let that go well one chip challenge where I will eat the hottest chip on this earth that's ever been made its every lead that's what they say about it I'm skeptical but okay we'll see what happens at six thirty yes you'll be also on Facebook live okay journey topic number three the White House seems to be formulating plans to prevent a possible recession Ernie to prevent it here we go they're thinking about a payroll tax cut that'll do it yeah that's a good idea to take something that's already losing money let's cut it even more brilliant economist are also reportedly looking at other possible tax breaks to stave off a downturn here you know it would people don't understand look I'm always a big supporter of any type of cuts in taxes but you have to cut spending along with it and nobody will do that see the problem is you have Democrats who are tax and spend Republicans are don't tax and spending the problem is that doesn't work not all are on board earning one White House official rejected the reports today yesterday I would cut and some have dismissed the idea all together it's a stupid idea country could be headed for a recession so these people think I don't think it I don't think it's as Dumas globus people think it's a stupid idea to begin with whether with the recession recession coming or not you have payroll taxes the tax that goes in your social security and cutting that down all that does is less than the amount of money that's in social security right now there's no such thing there's no lock box there's no trust fund it doesn't exist you know we aren't Al Gore did the line is a lock box cities want to slap him every time he said those words it was so stupid and so cloying and ridiculous that's not how they do it they're taking your money already and they're spending on are the other things were trillion dollars in deficit this year alone nobody will take charge of this we are in essence going bankrupt that's the biggest problem we have already your financial planner when exotically angel plan when exactly do people need to take out their money and invested into gold zinc turquoise and other precious precious metals and commodities I would I would rush today zinc mines now in a in a frenzy with your money and most cars much in the twenty first century will be made from zinc this is a switch from steel to aluminum to sing where I think we do our classic cars now for the most part but all right so anyway session you're saying recession is imminent no I'm not saying that you know I try to avoid that out yesterday that it just seems like everybody so bound and determined to drive us into recession and public perception can help do that there are signs that the the things are so are weak around the world but that does not mean you wanna you wanna know what would stop a recession in its tracks all war now it did back in the day yeah I did in World War two yes yeah I always go back to World War two economics okay good for you start thinking on your part we work out the whole trading with China suddenly the whole vision for the future becomes a lot brighter yes it's really one stroke of a pen sell anybody out there who's screaming recession recession the truth of the matter is they're hoping for one I think we should go back to an agrarian based economy I I I got no problem with that I'll be happy to work the farm I will say I am interested in the farmer's life aria I am interested watch a lot of micro dirty **** I'm interested okay well once you get some land you will you have some land land something about tone that soil yeah I get back but yeah but then I can let you grow marijuana there the total right now no it's it's it's medicinals legal are there other fun there and yeah but I but you have to get a license for that I don't know nine three topping number two dot like college it's not like coalition probate documents pulled by NBC news they got a show that Jeffrey abstain executed a new well two days before his death which is been ruled a suicide it is interesting to think that just means he knew he was going to be killed well I I think it means baby he had plans of his own perhaps or he knew that they were just moments away I I I'm thinking more I thought when I read that then he must that actually kind of helped me believe that he was planning on offering himself yes I have made make sense he knew he was going to do this and he's in prison and he signs his will I mean he he got his affairs in order and off himself now his state includes properties jets cars fancy boats fancy but and like that but my answer is what you Chris craft and out some bass boats doesn't call to full who's worth five hundred and seventy seven million five hundred seventy seven million clams well yes that's an impressive if you were rich like Byram how many fancy boats would you have what okay let's say if you are that rich which of those which one of which of those are you more interesting go and going all in on jet cars boats fine arts and generic collectible harkening back like pennies I harken back to a speech that Steve Jobs former CEO of apple gave yes he said my goal is to not be the richest man in the graveyard spend it all yeah live your life so you would have all of the above Jeffrey up steam now the richest man in the graveyard why wouldn't he have set that up to blow it all you know into the economy yeah the new will does does it leave anything taps teens brother mark wow what they must not have gotten along but to a trust well that's okay there was created on August eighth do you think that trust goes into you know raising fancy dogs no my guess is what he did at let's just take is to take his crimes and set them aside let's just say he's a rich guy yeah he puts his money into a trust yes and he's the head of the trustees now that you got a list let's say ten people yeah he's number one on the list when he dies his name is removed and everybody moves up a place except for his brother yeah well if his brother is in the trust all at receiver of the trust then he'll he'll benefit from the money it's just he didn't hand them yeah this money because the inheritance taxes for anything over five million dollars are confiscatory and they should be illegal let's say your number two on that list yeah you know move up to number one but let's say to you and you know you're getting dirty abstain money does that affect your conscience in any way you know I gotta be honest with you know now I feel bad about that but I'm over it I didn't do it right now money five hundred seventy seven dollars even at today's rates I mean that's still you can bring in some pretty good scratch what I understand if you just kind of a million dollars in the bank or maybe two maybe it's two million you know just interest alone if you want to you're doing your live in just fine with the best interest you're gonna get guaranteed interest that you could've gotten like from government bonds I think last summer twenty eighteen you can get three point two percent sure for a year well you know what if you got five hundred million dollars times when we don't real well yeah you doing okay at that would throw off a lot of money for those ten people that are your heirs receiving the trust if I inherited this scale bunches scratch offs absolutely because you're trying to win the big one he's completely overlooked this is one of my favorite things run in Las Vegas when I lived there I used to watch people when this money they win the slot machine and they go immediately to put more and more yeah you just won five thousand dollars you just won the friggin jackpot what do you think you're gonna win now there's so much more than that and they're playing these machines that have smaller jackpots I just I people are just dumb when it comes to money you just don't get it yeah apparently not tourney topic number one here and you have to be around the world and a reminder that we're gonna have our one ship challenge at six thirty when he announced on that rate the hottest pepper in the world any topic number one former house secretary former housing secretary is it who inner Julian I said anyway one of the other Castro I don't think he cares a Julian Castro I don't think he cares okay is the tenth presidential hopeful to qualify for the next round yeah you did of the democratic debate here's what I love about this so that debates gonna be September twelfth and thirteenth free all wondering that's right is you and I always talk about how the market will adjust itself feel when a in finance yeah you could you say that all right if you work thirty hour if you have employees are working thirty hours those people are now full time you gotta get healthcare they work around it by saying guess what none of these people are gonna work thirty hours right everybody's hours are limited everybody's hours are limited which means they can't make a living and they have to have multiple jobs Democrats go we're going to create this to where we want to narrow the field down and we want to get it down as quickly as possible the feel of people running for the people running for president nobody can run more than thirty hours a week is that what you're saying I don't know I've seen that I think these guys are figuring out ways to game the system yeah absolutely there I'd be there I've just seen too you know what laws were created to try to keep them out because before these people were just asking for dollar donation yeah you know because now they just need a certain number of people to donate at least one dollar yeah end of be above like one percent in the polls and I think Pauline is now change I think people he said I've seen who they really think is the favorite to become president I think people are saying look I already know by it's going to be up there the next debate yeah I'm actually interested in seeing Andrew gang or whatever yeah somebody say he's my favorite yeah it's so everything is everything is adjusting I've never been pulled but if I am pulled I promise you that if it's political in nature I will lie yeah I will say a light to that poster because I think it's endlessly entertaining when they come up and they got it wrong you think that there's no doubt in your mind that merry Williamson sh will should be the next perhaps so he's he's going to get my vote every single time I just want to see on the state exactly so weird and that's what's happening everybody is adjusting to this change in the market yeah then I don't I wouldn't be surprised if this if.

"Beautifully detailed landscapes. The new pro is called Gauguin named after the famous French impressionist. Of course now with software. Let's say you paint Brown blob on top of green line. The a is gonna convert your poor attempt at art into a rock formation with less grass and a picture perfect landscape. It's going to fill in the shadows reflections texture. If you squiggle in a little line, boom. You got a tree use a different color a waterfall? But these landscapes don't exist the deep learning software. References a million real pictures to create its own based on whatever you drive is actually pretty slick think of it as deep fake doodles, and it was a big week for apple announcements. They've been full of surprises like new I max, which by the way, they haven't had a refresh since twenty seventeen these can get pretty spec. Heavy so let's take a look at the twenty one and a half inch MAC on the twenty seven inch version two they don't look all that different from the predecessors. But big changes involved is sharper. Four K retina display sixty percent, faster processing power and speedy graphics on the twenty seven inch model two and a half times faster five K display fifty percent, boosting graphics both. Of course, are you can preorder the twenty one inch model starts at thirteen hundred bucks twenty seven at eighteen hundred. I mean, if you are into an I MAC, this is a definite step up. There's also a new batch of. Ipads, including a ten point five inch ipad air along with an updated. I've had many. And if you remember those the first new many and almost four years sports the apple pencil and the smart keyboard, that's really the big deal. Or is it has an age while biotic chip retina display seventy percent boost in performance twice the graphics. The mini starts at three ninety nine. The new ipad air starts at five hundred. But now that the ipad mini is back. Let's try not to confuse it with my phone at the same size, the iphone ten s max. And we have the second generation of air pods to an upgrade over the originals released back in two thousand sixteen and with the iphone seven three years, there should be some upgrades. Well, okay. Apple put a new chip the new H one chip on the inside provide better performance twice as fast could activity and up to fifty percent more time and also hands-free support. So you can just say I don't want to say. Tapping twice. Like, you have the originals. I can't say, hey, s I r I because it'll just start talking core question. Do we have a price for the air punts to yet? What else has wireless charging are? You can get the latest version of the pods with the standard charging case for a hundred and fifty nine dollars. Same price as the original. But if you want to upgrade to the ones that come with wireless charging case, those are the ones that I ordered one hundred ninety nine dollars. I'm going to be in the market for new airports. Well, as because you did you lose both just one. Yes. In the elevator. Heard it fell down the elevator. Shaft. Did you have any desire to go? Get it. I have absolute desire to go. Get it. It was only on the first floor. It's not broken. Yeah. Yeah. I'm sure you know, what you could call maintenance. I did would they say well look into it. You ain't never going to say it. Never. But this is so typical of apple pricing. You have one fifty nine or one ninety nine you might as well, go one ninety nine and get the wireless charging case. I think the show may need a couple of pairs just test. I'm just putting that out there. Be talking about Kickstarter later on answer use that Kickstarter has a lot of things that have been success stories over the years. And when I saw this latest Kickstarter project bringing it to your attention because it's something you know, you, and I have often thought that if if we could only come up with the next great tech product. So like, for example, on Kickstarter right now, this guy is really big into meditation, and he's trying to share his love of meditation with the masses. He recorded two sides of absolute silence on a vinyl record. Can we take a listen? Yes. That's it. Did you like it wasn't loud? It a goal of six hundred dollars to produce these records and mass and he has got now around two hundred backers fifty eight hundred dollars that's similar to what I'm selling. I'm selling handfuls of air, are you? Yeah. Is there only eight bucks a piece or I'll trade the entire bucket of air for new apple Airbus would see with your bucket of air. You can refresh your senses. Yeah. Absolutely. It's all about that. And you can feel alive again that pristine forests smell rejuvenation what it's about. And then you can have your vinyl record of twenty minutes of silence Myers organic by the way, one hundred percent natural inorganic. Now, you didn't record it around your dog. Did you know, those are just nasty? I was in the kitchen and Abby let one go last night. I looked at you know, he's like. It was the dog. I right. So it's vinyl. I was hoping that maybe we could hear some scratching sounds. But either way I don't need meditation. To know I've got better things to spend my money off. Talk about Epson gosh for so many years of Italian about my printer maker of choice. That's absent, of course. But the model number is the absent eco-tank forty seven fifty that's the one you should be buying now. And it's easier to tell you why it's revolutionary it's wireless. It's a complete all in one printer. That's one hundred percent cartridge free. Now, I don't know about you. But he used to hate having my print jobs interrupted just to replace the ink cartridge. But now, no more hassle with the Epson. Ecotank forty seven fifty because it comes with two years of ink right in the box. That's enough to print up to eleven thousand color pages. That's the equivalent to about one hundred and twenty individual in cartridges now if I had to go by one hundred and twenty individual cartridges that would cost me about.
