"Instance goertz was in a hotel and in australia. Waiting to get free for a couple of weeks hand Yeah so i know. There's some countries that have that rule. I don't know what they are for everybody right now though. Because that's what i'm thinking. I guess what. I'm trying to express his this feeling that the states and mexico. Maybe maybe ninety nine cool about this. Well then you know what it's gonna be up to old. Tony gone to keep people safe. Maybe maybe we keep kenny off. Maybe delight lucia and kenny. They stay off the show for a couple of weeks after it. It sounds like a long time but it's only two episodes of the television. This is not a show where dynamite you could at least get away with because this is a show where they don't shove ten pounds of shit and a five pound bag. What does this indicate because you would think. Should kenny omega win the title that you'd want to see him next week which they look that works out if if mexico doesn't care then he can be on the show on the ninth high on the new champion and then go to mexico for the twelfth. So if he doesn't have to go and spend any time in advance he can be on the next week. Okay the.

Stop Being a Doormat!

"It took me almost forty years to learn how to do this. And now i just do it all the time. I love doing it. I'm talking about learning to just say no which i have found in my travels around. The country is still one of the most difficult things in the world for women to do. Dr martha beck is here today. With the cure. Really if you will listen to her. If you pay attention and get it you can cure your disease to please or at least take big strides towards carrying it beginning today. Dr martha beck is a regular contributor to the magazine. Where i'm wearing the hat this month. In june and actually martha. I've never told you this but you are the first thing i go to an magazine you are. I love your column so much. I think you have such yours. You go to mind. Yeah what i know for sure way already know what i know for sure so i already wrote the so. I go to you every month. Because i think you have solid sounded by. She's in omega seen every month and she got her phd from harvard while raising three children. She works as a life coach and has really sound sensible advice that you can just in the instant that you read it. No that's the truth. I'm going to stop doing that. She says every woman in the country is socialized to act like a doormat. We all have been socialized that way and today you all agree right today. She is going to begin to teach us how to say no. Kelly desperately need. Martha's help kelly. Says she is so eager to please that. She spends thousands of dollars a year trying to buy people's love. Look at this. I'm a twenty nine year old single woman. I'm very very hard working in the real estate field. I own my own home. I drive a very nice car. And i make very good money and i feel like i have to buy other people's love. I am doormat when it comes to money. I just cannot say no to my friends family or any type of relationship. That i'm and i just broke up with my boyfriend of eleven years and basically i paid for everything to keep him in my life. I even found out that he was using my credit card to go to strip clubs and it was hard for me to even confront him about using my money to pay other girls to take their tops off. I finally got the courage to kick him out. But i am still paying for him to stay in a hotel till he gets some money to get. I'm a pushover with my friends. I typically pay for dinners. they don't ever asks me. I just feel like that's just my job that i need to pay to keep them in my line. I always buy the most expensive gifts from my friends. Baby showers wedding gifts birthdays. Three years ago. I loaned my friend about three thousand dollars And i i haven't even gotten five dollars back. I'm a very visual person around town. I get compliments all the time saying kelly. I've never seen upset. I always emceeing you smiling. But the fact is that when i get home is a very lonely time. I'm not happy. And i wish i could find somebody to give me something. I don't think i've ever had i don. I haven't even had a boyfriend that could afford to take me to mcdonald's. Well dr martha says that Kelly is just like a man who sleeps with prostitutes. Not exactly how it's it's more like. She's a man who has decided at the beginning that no woman can ever love him that he's not good enough and so he only plays prostitutes because he figures that way he can't lose. He pays people to pretend to love him because he does not believe that he can be left without that guys. Think prostitutes love them. No no that's the. They want the prostitute to pretend to love them. Okay but of course. They think she's doing it for the money right. And basically what kelly's doing is have you ever tried making a friendship or being in a relationship where you didn't money so what you're doing is you're starting with the theory. I'm not loveable. Therefore i will buy people's love but you're always conscious that it's bought and paid for so it doesn't feel like love to you now. What i suspect is that these people really do love you you know. I know that. I have several friends. Left you're keeping it away you see in the tape. I wish that i could find somebody that would value me. That would give things to me. Well guess what you're going to mirror you're the only one who doesn't value and you as the bad news. The good news is that as you have the power to become the someone in your life who loves and cares for you okay. So that's why we gotta work on here.

"And Onto Tournament News Cinder man does not yet just finished. Congratulations to them. It feels like it was a super fast tournament like not compared to Mega Mega was a month in this one. Felt like Mega Lull Omega. League are making league. Sorry. Reading too much chat lately. Yeah it was. It was definitely shorter I don't remember how many days whole tournament lasted, but it wasn't. It wasn't very long just a few days really at least the. I think it was just a few days. The whole thing was there. Anyway. It was. It was quick. In an absolute shocker. Secret. Won, the tournament in a three zero finals putting them on I believe eight. Consecutive Three, Oh finals. Did lose a game in the playoffs the first round. They beat VP prodigy two-to-one. Who they then faced again in the finals and they went three. Oh Five and one against them. That was their only loss. Impressive absolutely. Unbelievable. I mean I'm saying kind of sarcastically right because we're just getting used by, but it's kind of insane but they keep doing it. and. Other teams aren't catching up. It's it's amazing. They are. The true kings right now and people are saying they don't have the international competition and that's why there's no Chinese teams. There's no a well one American team they played against in one it recently, they play against G I think but is not the only team. That's a bit disrespectful to. That other NATO. Yeah This is what a toxicity comes from people like me making. Now so I don't know if there's honestly if those international competition I think they would lose more games but I, don't know if they would have lost series still I don't know how good the Chinese scene is right now. Compared to secret they're just that good. But we've talked about this before it is a, it's a huge shame. There's no ti like for secrets. Sake that is like go on like Ti's next year let's say nothing changes and they don't end up winning. It's GonNa feel so bad for them knowing that they will like if it was about now they would be in extreme advantage I feel like they would easily be the number one seed or whatever you WanNa call it going in the free runner for sure. worth noting from this time as well just to. To finish off on this VP prodigy got second. They're playing really well, and they gave secret a true challenge in I believe the first game was pretty close in the finals and the kind of got run over. The duration of the Games, wasn't that long but game one was relatively close and they also beat them in a game. They were the only team to beat them in a game. In the first series they had the quarterfinals actually one game one, and then they lost two games after obviously alliance got third and then the new Nov either we talked about last week fourth. So pretty good start for them is one of the best results Navias had lately I. Think. With this the new roster they took flight moon I believe they were called before, right? Yeah. So. Good stuff secret keeps owning. as far as. Just, following up on the Doda pit stuff. This was the first tournament to introduce the like stricter re streaming rules that valve has allowed them to. don't think any major streamer watch the Games right I can't I can't think major streamers yet. No, I don't. I wish I had more information on who streamed it at all. Because we really interested to know if anybody did it because we talked about this last week how it was. The asks from Doda pit as expected were extreme. And would have to be followed to the t obviously, and it would just

Energy Healing for Food Issues and Body Image Recovery with Sarah Speers

"Sarah Welcome to the show. Thanks so much for coming on. Could you talk about to kind of introduce yourself to listeners a little bit to start what were the biggest influences on your relationship with food and your body growing up Ooh I, love that question and thank you for having me. It's really interesting when I reflect on my relationship with soon, grind up I didn't think I had a lot of. Unhealthy eating. Messages I thought my family was relatively healthy. I thought I had a healthy relationship with food. In hindsight looking back I can see the the seeds of sort of unhealthy relationships creeping and mainly I would always eat sugar to self soothe as a kid and we used to have these nightly routines of always eating ice cream after dinner or using food as a reward, those sorts of situations which as an adult. Started to really come into fact in terms of my unhealthy eating habits and so as a child when I had this super active and I had a very high metabolism, it didn't appear to be an issue and then later in life I was able to see. Oh Wow, I really became attached to food and certain foods specifically became sort of my emotional crutch that I use as my wages Osu their self matic later in adulthood. Thank you for sharing that I. Love How you said. You know where you're talking about when people are kids if they're like just naturally in smaller bodies, it's like I love how you said it didn't matter that I was eating sugar like it didn't appear to matter. Right. So that's actually something that I run into a lot of the time when I coach kids for swimming and not something that I ran into growing up there people will be like, Oh you're swimmer it doesn't matter what you eat and the sense of. You can't see any changes on this people's bodies because they're teenagers and have insane metabolism's and also happened to have smaller body genetics I. Think it's so important to talk about that distinction. Yeah, and if I can also add that in terms of the body messages. Growing up because I was. So skinny might nickname literally on my sports teams or people my life would call me twiggy string bean and a my identity came really attached to having to be skinny to feel like I was valued or. Was Getting approval from people. So again and as an adult, you know sometimes we think your weight issues are just if you're overweight but for me, there is always this angst around I have to stay skinny because that's my identity in that's where my word comes from and so I didn't think I had. People affecting my body image growing up either I thought I had a lot of love for the people around me but even these seemingly harmless messages or fun nicknames were actually really shaping my identity to my body. Yes. So how did you go from that from kind of struggling with your relationship with food and with your body as a teen and maybe until like early twenties to transitioning to work with women on food freedom and specifically through energy work? Yeah. Will my story really took a turn it might twenty. So I would say most of my childhood teens and even young. Adult I felt like I had an okay relationship with food. But in my twenties I started to develop really severe eating disorder bulimia. Yeah and that happened because I started to go on a diet and I thought I wanna be really healthy and I wanted to see if I, can you know shed a few extra pounds and and that turned into a very obsessive? Counting calories coming up with really strict food roles and as a result, I just wasn't nursing my body and I was getting anxiety around what to eat and and it leads you very severe been gene and then bingeing purging I got stuck in that vicious cycle and suddenly I felt like. Oh. My Gosh how is life? Like you know the Pitney came one day when I was over the toilet that Oh, my God, this is not normal or healthy ns somehow become minority and so that became a struggle for six years. Once I got pulled into that I just was struggling so hard to get out and it controlled my life and it became my mission to heal my Sol's. So that I could then help other women because I did not want another woman to ever have to go through the agony and the like the torture that I was living in in my mind in just my reality, it was consumed and I lost myself to it and I was determined to get myself back if not better and then do everything in my power to help woman y'all. So that kind of started my like. My determination to figure this out and I was determined to try any in everything to to get better and so for a long time I, sort of was always turning to food. Let me try and control food. Let me use little power in. That will be my way to get over this like I'm just going to be perfect tomorrow. And that Kinda like I tried that over and over again and not just never worked right. The answer was not controlling food, and so I started to them look outside of that at other healing modalities. And I just got desperate inserted China everything in eventually stumbled Pon emotional freedom technique also noticed tapping and things like ricky and emotion code, and all these different energy healing modalities and Literally within a matter, six months pretty much all of my quote unquote symptoms seemingly disappeared like I just felt whole and complete again I felt like myself again, I felt empowered in normal again and it wasn't a fight or struggle. It just seems like as I got it through issue and really started to uncover all of these repressed emotions in the subconscious programming and these wounds. I didn't even know I was carrying. That were leading me to say stock in these unhealthy habits. Omega, it was like a radical shift, and so that is what made me then realized I need to get this massive these modalities out to as many women as I can because it may not be the one thing that's going to help but it is certainly missing piece in the equation and I think a lot of times we don't look at these other modalities that can be so powerful in conjunction with like proper nutrition or you know a good mindset etcetera. Yeah we're therapy exactly anything like that. Exactly.

Pregnancy and child development

"Can you tell us some of the things that you did to optimize your son's health or development since he was born I'm a new mom and I would love to know how you approach diet supplements routines. ETC thank you. And there are also some tag along questions here. That have to do with what the common deficiencies are in in toddlers. So I think Andrew Ask that question. So I'm going to talk about that right now I would say One of the main main things that I have done is Omega Three Dha high. Dha Supplementation. Both during breastfeeding during pregnancy, we'll starting in during pregnancy but pregnancy breastfeeding and then. Getting, preformed Dha, to my son. and. The Way I do that is I take one of my High Dha capsules and I cut it open and I put it in his oatmeal with lots of butter and he just. So, whereas during fetal growth, calories can help promote. You know growth they're not sufficient for brain development. brain development appropriate development requires a sufficient intake of protein zinc, iron, choline, full iodine, and the omega three fatty acids. As, well as vitamins ad B six and B twelve, and if you failure to provide those key nutrients during that critical period can actually result in long-term brain deficits. so the common. Toddler nutritional deficiencies. Omega three. So consumption of. EPA from foods contributes you know so. Mostly those are found in marine sources. it's a very small amount. You know children children are only getting about forty milligrams of the preformed Dha and EPA. And two, thousand, fifteen. There was a really big study about that. You know showed eating fish. Actually even fish. The fish that has particularly for high mega three and low in mercury. Still even protected against toxic effects of Mercury in a developing fetus, which is the most sensitive sensitive to mercury. And there was another study that was published. Huge huge Meta study looked at looked at not only. Prospective Studies. which are associated associated can't really establish causation, but they also looked at randomized controlled trials in children. So the studies looked at pregnant women and also young children and that that were either given fish or eating having a high intake of fish. Or not and it was found not the the mothers and children even randomized control trials that were given fish. I had improved intelligence scores like significantly improved even up to like nine points. And these children also had higher levels of Mercury as well. But they had higher levels of Dha which superseded whatever you know. Minor effects the mercury hat again, we talked about earlier conversation there a fish that are high mega three and lower number mercury at you can be you know things like Salmon While Alaskan salmon or like I mentioned the the farmed Atlantic at least that's the only one I know of that's farmed. Salmon. Sardines. Herring. Mackerel of this fish that are fatty also behind Omega, three and those ones are lower in mercury smaller Fisher mercury. So I try to give him I try to get my son to eat salmon in some form or another, and he'll eat little little amounts of it. And like I said, I also supplemented with fish oil. I was also taking. Drum, breastfeeding. I was I was taking three grams a day of of Dha and that you know is is was being delivered him in breast milk I'll get to that in just a minute though. Iron is another another one particularly infants between six six and eleven months they they have a low about ten percent of those infants have low intake of iron. of course, irons high in in in meets You know fish is another one that you can find iron in. I was actually giving my son when he was doing solid foods like when I when he was when I introduce solid foods at around six months. I would blend up some salmon cooked salmon blended up with either Cooked Cherries blueberries, and I would blended altogether. So it kind of gave the Sam sweet taste and really liked that. When he was young.

What's the Best Non-Dairy Milk Alternative?

"You can buy non dairy alternative beverages made from Soya Rice, almond, oat, coconut peas, hemp flax is there any particular reason that you might choose one over the others and for that matter are any of these more nutritious than cow's milk? Will. It really does depend on what you're looking for. If you don't eat meat for example, then you might want to choose one that somewhat higher in protein. If you're watching your weight on the other hand, you might prefer one that's lower in calories. So I compared a dozen different types and brands of non dairy milk to see how they stacked up nutritionally. Now, in each case I chose the plane unsweetened version or as close to that, I could get include both original and light or reduced fat varieties when possible. And so here's a rundown of the most popular milk alternatives and what I see is the nutritional pros and cons of each. All of the non dairy milk, of course, are going to be Vegan and lactose free. But then there are some real differences. Soy and PEA milk are the highest in protein. They provide somewhere between eight and eleven grams of protein per cup, which is comparable to cow's milk. Legumes such as soybeans and yellow peas are also relatively complete source of protein although not quite as complete as dairy. Soy Protein in particular has some beneficial effects on cholesterol levels and might help keep your bones strong. But as I talked about way hacking episode number twenty, one on the pros and cons of soy. There are a few reasons that you don't want to Overdo it with soy and I suggest keeping it to no more than three servings a day. So if you eat a lot of other soya based foods, then you might want to choose a different kind of milk for that reason. Hen Flax and Walnut milks are all relative newcomers to the alternative scene and all of these are an excellent source of Omega three fats. This is a nutrient that's often lacking in the western Diet. If your diet does not include a lot of fish, for example, this could be a way to fill that gap a single serving of one of these can provide an entire day's recommended intake of Omega three fat. That's about four times as much as you'd get from soy milk and six times as much as you'd get from cow's milk none of these options however are very high in protein. Now if you're counting calories, almond milk tends to be quite a bit lower in calories and sugar than most of the other non dairy milks. It's also fairly low in protein and don't expect the same benefits that you'd get from eating almonds virtually all of the fiber and the heart healthy mono unsaturated fats that make almond. So healthy have been removed although almond milk has for a long time in one of the most popular non dairy. Several other nut milks have entered the market more recently including those made from hazelnuts cashews, and as I mentioned earlier, Walnuts. If you're looking for one to make it home, I have found that cashew milk is the easiest and best tasting. Do It yourself non dairy milk option and in the show notes for today I have linked to the recipe that I created to make cashew milk. Now, I should point out that not milks nut milks including those made from almonds, walnuts and cashews use more water to create than other non dairy options, and this is because nuts are very water intensive crops nonetheless, Almond and other nut milks use less water to produce then cow's milk. But if water usage is important to you, Sawyer oat milk are the least water-intensive to produce. Now. Rice milk is the one that you're least likely to be allergic to. However, it is also pretty much the lowest in protein and it tends to be higher in sugar and calories. Although races not as water-intensive to grow as nuts, it's not far behind in terms of water use. OAT Milk is another newer entry into the non dairy field people tend to really like it's creamy texture especially in coffee it's also a more sustainable option than not or rice based milks another plus is that it does contain a small amount of fiber. Now, we're only talking one or two grams per serving but oat fiber has some unique benefits in terms of lowering blood cholesterol and blood sugar levels with just two to four grams of protein per serving oat milk is lower in protein than either cow's milk. Or Soy milk, but higher than most rice and almond milk varieties, and finally milk may also be a great option for those with nut allergies for whom not milks are obviously off the menu and this brings us to coconut milk. Now, with all the buzz around coconut oil and coconut water lately, it was probably inevitable that a coconut based milk alternative would appear on the already overcrowded shelves in that non dairy I'll. But as with all the other coconut based products, the health benefits of coconut milk are modest. Plane unsweetened coconut milk is very low in calories and carbohydrates. It's only got about half as many calories as skim milk. However, coconut milk contains no protein and it's often described as being watery kinda tasteless. Now. Here's just a quick. Although. Both are referred to as coconut milk. The coconut based beverage that you'll find next the almond milk is not to be confused with the coconut milk that you'll find the canned food or international foods I'll canned coconut milk is made from blending coconut meat and water into a rich creamy liquid that's quite high in fat and calories. This is the ingredient that you'll see called for in curry recipes, desserts, and other kinds. Asian cuisine.

Should You Switch to Fish Oil with PRMs?

Should You Switch to Fish Oil with PRMs?

"Fish oil is rich in the omega three fatty acids, EPA and Dha and most American adults don't get the recommended amount of these nutrients from their diet and officials supplement is one way to help fill that gap. Fish Oil is also used in higher therapeutic doses to treat and prevent. Variety of health conditions including heart disease, auto, immune disorders, arthritis, and even depression. There are a few different mechanisms of action here. Omega threes are anti thrown Belichick that means that they reduce the tendency of blood to form clots and they're also potent anti inflammatories. To how do they do all of this? Well, Omega threes are enzymatic converted in your body into various biologically active molecules and those then orchestrate the body's inflammatory and immune responses at the cellular level. There are a lot of different types of these active compounds including Prostaglandins I, cost annoyed and leukotrienes. Pro Resolving mediators or PRM's our newly recognized category of these active compounds. The three main types of these are protections, resolve ines and medicines, and the fact that three PRM's start with p. r. and M. is actually quite handy. Now, in some medical papers, you'll see these compounds referred to as s PM's which stands for specialized pro resolving mediators, but that's not nearly as handy under Monica device. So I'M GONNA STICK WITH PRM's. Like their name implies crow resolving. Act to actively resolve or turn off the body's inflammatory responses and I want you to remember inflammation is not necessarily a bad thing. It is part of the body's immune response and in the right place at the right time, it serves a very important and valuable function. Chronic or excessive inflammation on the other hand can start to create problems and that's where the PR come in their job is to switch off that inflammatory activity once the immediate threat has been dealt with, which allows the inflammation to resolve and healing to begin. Some research suggests that in diseases that are characterized by chronic or inappropriate inflammation, there might be some sort of disruption in the body's production of these. PRM's and other research shows that supplementation with omega three fatty acids like those fish oil can increase the amount and the activity of PRM's in the body. But if our body makes PRM's when we take Omega three, why would we need to take them as a supplement? Why indeed?

Algae Oil for Cooking?

Algae Oil for Cooking?

"McCaffrey. So D-, what's the topic for this week? The topic for this week is. Culinary algae oil what is it and is it a good oil to cook with? Wow that's a new one. Now G oil. Yeah. I actually. This was somewhat new to me as well. I heard about it from a client as I often hear about new things. end. So piqued my interest because of course, I know about algae oil supplements for like a basically a plant source of the omega three fatty acids that we typically find in fish oil. And these are very important types of fatty acids for our brain and our overall health, and so I was thinking, okay. I know about that type of algae oil. But how do you? How could you have an algae oil that you could cook with because you would never want to cook with algae oil that has these very fragile Omega three fats in it because they would just burn up and turn around. Yeah. So I had to really kind of look around and and see what this algae culinary is all about. So there's a company called thrive and that's the name of the brand of the oil. It's called thrive algae culinary oil. And it's owned by a company in in the Netherlands. And so it they don't get their algae from the ocean like like the companies that make algae oil supplements do that type of algae is like marine phytoplankton type of algae, very high in Omega three fatty acids. This algae oil actually comes from an algae that grows on the bark of a chestnut tree in Germany one that's where they originally got their algae from. Now, they make it in these big. like. Steel that's very similar to making your. Yes and in fact, I believe I read somewhere that the company actually is housed in an old PABST blue ribbon factory, and they actually used the same fermenting bats. so they take this algae from a chestnut tree in Germany that's the original source of it. But now what they do is they can grow it now in there that and so they have sort of like a sustainable replenishable supply of this algae. So and they ferment it in the VATS and so during the fermentation process. What happens is they kind of feed a little bit of sugar in to get that fermentation started, and then the fermentation process turns the carbohydrate portion of this. Into oils and so then once they have their final fermented product that is rich in oils that press the oil out of the algae. And this oil is different from. Well, it's different from any other kind of algae. And and it is somewhat bioengineered which which I read is that they do they do add certain things together to make it so that it has a high percentage of mono unsaturated fats in which is the type of fat that's an olive oil and avocado oil. Only this algae oil has a much higher percentage of monounsaturated fats than any other plant oil. It's got like ninety percent of it is monounsaturated versus olive oil which has about seventy six percent monounsaturated so. Is this for would you treat it like olive oil when you cook or you treat it like something that can take a little higher heat? Well, the this one claims that it's great for high heat cooking because it has a smoking point of four, hundred, eighty, five degrees, which is really high and you know olive oils doesn't go that high come and so you know. So basically they have they've they've done this they said they've they've crossed bread. And otherwise. Genetically. Modified. Aspects of this algae to give it a high monounsaturated fat content. And then they you know. So they end up with an oil that has this high amount of monounsaturated. Therefore, it has a high amount of and has a high smoke point and one of the reasons. That you know they they talked about this smoke point in an oil comes from something called free fatty acids within the oil, which most of the fats in our diet, and especially even in our oils are in the form of what we call it triglycerides, which is basically three fatty acids attached to a glycerine molecule, and that's called a triglycerides and that's how most of our fouts exist in our foods a free fatty acid. Attached to a glacier all it's just kind of floating around in there and when you have free fatty acids in your oil as you're cooking it, those fatty acids start evaporating before the other oil components as it heats up and then that's what creates like these little soot particles and then eventually smoke. So

OMEGA League News

"So let's just brush up real quick on the. Omega. League action that you and I have been casting. We actually only have one day left which makes me really sad for us for us. Yes. which Thursday the group still have more to go. Yeah. So we're right now we're casting the divine league. And then afterward done casting I believe the group stage for the big boys tier one teams begin. But the game have been a lot of fun. And I've enjoyed casting with you as usual. Centerman do you have anything to games that we've witnessed so far? I think there's been quite a lot of relatively one sided or one sided games. I think is quite big span in teams in quality of teams in these qualifiers in the immortal equal which recast earlier on There was definitely a pretty big difference another during the divinely the differences probably get an even bigger where some of the teams that may be just made were just short of getting into mortal now stomping in the divine league. So. Sarah, we'll see how it all plays out Of course, like you said, the the big immortal leak with the big teams starting August fourteenth and it will be covered from. Ukraine where quite a lot of time has flown in and gone through. Extensive Corona testing and everything to be there on site because obviously traveling internationally right now is really difficult but they've made it work. Ethic. Americans apparently because the talent American of shocked. Yeah. It's pretty it's pretty unusual So yet they found a way to make it work, which is impressive. So hats off as always to to the boys over at we play and epicenter who are working together on this as far as I'm aware. Nip Yeah should be should be cool like I said I think was last episode of the episode before once mortally starts on August fourteenth this might be the best tournament for the rest of the year. With the current global lookout it's hard to say if we're going to get an actual land for the rest of the year, maybe we will have one. but in terms of online, there are so many good teams in the Western. In the Western mortal division at least. the Asian tournament doesn't have. Or, the Asian turn is done. First of all is no way does not done nevermind his starts it's it's been running since August I but their playoffs are August seventeen to twenty seconds. So there's also going to be Asia's going by that. Some. The Western tournament is a stacked secret navy liquid. VP flight. Moon. EEG. G. IS PLAYING OG alliance, `Nigma. NRP and then the two qualifying teams, which we can now say qualified from the immoral qualify are five men who many will not know by name because it's a totally new stack, which is ace Chessy, Zubay, misery, and pilot die, and then Vikings Dot g g who most people know by. Now as the there's five men coaching in the immortals and divine there's five comrades not to be confused, of course, different team too early, which we cast yesterday, which includes the likes of exotic deer, which one name I did recognize and my personal favorite name divide. Lama. Might be the best name anyone in Doda right now I really like saying that name over and over. Games have been fun to cast I I'm GONNA kind of. I think I've said this before but it feels like I'm not playing as much Doda as of recently. Because there hasn't really been a pass that it's Kind. Of inspired confidence. Maybe that's not the right word is kind of like. I mean, have you even playing Doda as well? I believe a lot of world of warcraft. Tell me at least that's your excuse. Every time I invite you to play something. Sorry. Very busy but casting has it's still I find it really fun. I'm enjoying a lot. Even, Really Fox up my schedule

"Yes, we are Doda pitch has concluded cinder. and. I personally didn't get to watch this tournament. because my sleep scheduled disallowed it as you know, but `Nigma did beat alliance in a best of five grand files three, two two. So a very up close series talking to this tournament. It actually just had a lot of mean closer towards the end right to to ones, and then the three to which is great for the region. Right. If the teams are close in keeping games off each other worth noting was the absence of secret obviously who have one Basically everything the last two to three months in Europe So them not being there might have leveled the playing field a bit. It's hard to say how much the other teams have caught up when secret aren't part of the tournament. But obviously, `NIGMA great confidence boost. It's been awhile since they've been doing this well Close finals, five games every game was I mean it's kind of a patch right? Most Games were like thirty to forty five minutes. There were no marathons and no GIG stomps but you know it's it's kind of just your your average game time. I guess have you played assemblyman a game yet by the way? Have still have not I don't. I might have actually. have. You finally been introduced the I'm trying to remember. If I had a game with a I. Don't I like maybe I had one actually I'm not positive how it might have happened but did it was one game? Okay. That's incredible. I mean it's not that important. It's to me they're the coolest items in the game, but anyway continue. No. Yeah. So I mean we. We should just I think just focus on the podium, right? Okay. Third Alliance, second `Nigma I and also scary team. Veasley. Teams at any time looked like all three could win because of how the series went so. Yeah good stuff going forward into the Omega League which is a much bigger tournament in terms of price pool we are casting in that by the way if you missed we started casting yesterday. Yes. currently casting their close qualifiers for the European region and that will be casting that over the next week roughly. Make sure you guys check that out actually I. Didn't even I think we're we're not just doing closed qualifiers. We'll doing some of the normal pre playoff stage so I think other than yesterday. So going forward today after this podcast actually will be doing one series an after today, we have three more days in the next two weeks span that were doing games. And then. I'm done at the very least your your schedule is going to be like, but don't know. I don't know anything about what I'm doing. Is this the first? Tournament secret is. After their break feeling that break has been that long it's been like a weeks is the first one. Yeah. I've been two weeks is a decent on time and Doda. To be honest I three weeks. So just to refresh people, EG is going to be part of the EU division on this. So it's quite staff I mean we might as well just mentioned all the teams team secret navy liquid VP flight, a moon E. G. OG alliance `Nigma and NIP, and then to close qualifiers which I mean we can go off on a limb and say who we think are GonNa win because I. Think. Viking. Is definitely like major. and. Then the secondary team, it could be bait. A. Pires these days think hell-raisers quotas well as get their stuff together like there's there's multiple options but I would definitely say clear favorites from nearby. To get first place. In those qualifiers. They've been pretty impressive. They've been they've definitely been very good Yeah. I mean I think this tournament is worth like just emphasizing bit that this might be quite possibly the best tournament of the year at this point because with the development of covert I, don't know if we're going to get any big land until the years over If things start opening up in October or whatever tournaments right now can bank on it. So they can start booking venues and planning everything. So it means if there's announcements of of stuff getting a bit less extreme in, let's say two months than they need a preparation period. So I think at this point, any big land this year's just very unlikely could add this online ones mega stack tournament at least for the West there's probably going to be bigger tournaments for the east than this but. Yeah, it's a it's a very big western tournament. So if you if you WANNA watch some of the best daughter, this is your chance to maybe watch the biggest turn. It says it goes through to September six is actually true correct Dan. So it's a really long term. So this close qualifiers and then there's a big group stage and then there's playoffs. Are Okay. This is gonNA. Be Dumb to bring this up. What are we casting for? The next two is adjust close squall. Here's my actually mistaken. I think it's just close quote Holy Shit. I think the Games I believe the group the group stays in Europe starts August fourteenth. My birthday and I. Good. Let. Me Just check the America's America Start Sixteenth and Asia is already ongoing with the group stage. That's August. I, sixteen they're way ahead. So the playoffs and group stage of the main event. If you WANNA call it's three weeks. That's crazy. That's

"Jan. welcome together on Prem. How are you? I'm good. How are you is So you are currently in Puerto Rico I. Am okay I'm in Sunny San Diego we are I guess coasts. So you're I'm the Atlantic. Ocean Yes but we both are blessed with beautiful weather I know I. Love Puerto Rican put her because one of my favorite places in the world I love Puerto Rico when I went outside Omega I was from the Caribbean in a past life. I felt home. I'm so happy to hear that I'm so happy to hear that I want more people to come and if they have been before to revisit and if they. Haven't come for the first time because Puerto Rico really is an amazing place and gets a little bit of a bad rep with everything that's happened in the last few years but it just is so resilient and it's such a beautiful island with a lot of natural attractions and you know metropolitan bustling area and a lot of history and culture, and it's just amazing. So I'm so happy to hear that you enjoy it as well for sure in the food I like food. I've had to work really hard to not gain weight while I've been here. Yeah. Go every day. You know it's good for the soul but not necessarily for the hearts up out of moderation I. Suggest let's explore your stories to tell us what's your background with your heritage. So I am Puerto Rican, I was born here on the island I moved when I was six, my family was looking for better opportunities like so many others in that generation I think from the island they just now have their children have started returning to the island and it's a nice thing to see because there is still remaining. Anybody. Who left still has a lot of pride and still loves to share and see things from the island and you know just a sensible Rudo really within everybody here, and so I moved when I was six I grew up in Philadelphia and then I ended up going to college in Miami which became like a second home for me I. Really Love South Florida I went to law school in Baltimore and then I was like, what was I thinking I should've just stayed in south Florida. So mmediately to law school at right back and I was living there for many years I guess ten years. Between School and coming back. Loved it was the one place that was very just like you said, just felt very like home like the people there. I could relate to them like they had delicious food that I liked eating every radio station and play to get the on. Just, a really natural fit and loved it and I still do and I still consider south Florida to be a second home but it's also very nice for me to have this opportunity to come back nappy areas Puerto Rico rather than just like from family visits and family trips and things like that. But on my own and really get an appreciation for the island how was it for you to grow up in Philadelphia interesting? I guess it's changed a lot over the last few years that I haven't been there. Right a lot of gentrification and things like that. I felt like it was a little rough when I was there like I rent to a really prestigious school. It's like the second oldest high school in the country I was a public school. Yeah and so we didn't refer to ourselves by the graduating year I class of two, thousand and five. I was the two hundred sixty. Four th graduating class, and so it was wonderful and there's a sense of community with that but you were definitely seen and targeted as the smart kids and so we were in a little bit of a rough neighborhood. So there were definitely like there was a point we had to have police escorts to take us to the bus and it was like a four hour bus ride to and from where I live to the school. So it was intense but I feel. Like it taught me a lot of street smarts I can feel confident now in big cities and settings where I'm by myself and feel like I'm able to navigate a foreign setting. So maybe I didn't really see it then but I felt like Philadelphia was really good training for being able to travel and see the world and feel confident that I have the ability to stay safe in these settings.

"Jenin I talk about her life in Puerto Rico growing up in Philadelphia what it was like to go to law school. Then what a became not practicing law as she started solo traveling and we of course talked about what inspired her to travel, which was being thirty and not being married and having children and wanting that resonated with me as when she talked about letting things be when letting things happen and unfold as they are supposed to when you're a planner and I, think this is one of the things when we get into this topic in the interview that is going to resonate with you as we live through pandemic Jen. Also, shares with us about self publishing becoming a travel blogger and I talk about Australia at the trip that I was going to take to Australia that ended up obviously not taking because that was going to happen between March and April and and that was right when all the things went down. So of course, I didn't make to Ustralia but I did make it to speak at that conference. So I can still call myself an international speaker because I got to speak honest age in Australia while I was in San Diego huckle is that but a winner I'll leave that for another story I will let you enjoy conversation with Jen druce. Fun fact all right. Everybody. Last year, as you may remember, Jesse and I attended the makers conference craft -cation in California. And we met so many new friends. So one night, there was a bit of an east coaster meet up. and. I met a really cool crafter and fellow podcast with a show called studio seventy eight podcast, and she is fabulous and finally hanging with us right now. So please everyone. Let's give a warm craft hanging out. Welcome to New Shea Snow Welcome. So excited to be on your pie gas. You guys. Interviewed so many amazing guests on like I feel like honored. Show big time. Stop. So, let's just start off with the basics. Can you tell our craft? Reno's a little bit about who you are and what you do? Absolutely, my name's initiates now been a crafter for life since elementary school. My mom is a crafter to end up going to school for graphic design and my nine to five is billy me dealing with you know designers and web designers and all of that good stuff. Stuff. But on nights and weekends I, just loved to podcasts. Do My side hustles and I've had many many side hustles through the years. But I like making stuff just creating stuff and I'm just like you guys. I just love talking to people in sharing their stories and inspiring women to like pursue their passions be at full time or part time or all the time. So yeah, that's me in a nutshell. So. That podcast, you get to have lots of conversations with creatives and how does that inspire you? Oh. My goodness I mean, you know sometimes I feel like when I get off of an interview with him, like I need to step it up. Just. Wait a minute like, but it inspires me because you can throw around ideas because a lot of times you know people tell me like what marketing tips worked for them or how they ended up making connections in in order to get their Khumbu show line off, you know just started or maybe how they weren't. Initially, artists didn't go to school for design. But now they're like selling design in the narrow inspiring people to like just do what you love. Love in. So for me, I, feel like with each guest. I just pick up like a little tip a little trick, and it just inspires me to want to do more. You know some, that's super rats. I feel the same way with some of our guests. But okay, who's your favorite guest and Y ou? That's that's a hard one. That's a heroin. So if if any gas listened to listening to this and I don't name, you don't get offended. But I actually had her on for a second time. Her name is Nicole crowder. and. She's in the DC area with knee to, and recently she's actually just blown up but the pillow one. Yes. Mention Pillow, right? Yeah. Because she she does the meditation pillows and you know she first started out where she was, you know doing upholstery and teaching people how to upholster their old furniture in an her story. You know she talks about like working a nine to five. Then trying to do her love full-time, it didn't work out, went back to a nine to five, and then she started again when I first interviewed her and man she like learned from all the failures and then took what she learned and she's just being going going going and. And even when I interview her few months ago is wow. So just talking to her, I was so inspired, I love seeing her Kinda like blow up the last couple of months, and even how she did the meditation pillow, she initially was just giving them out for free because of cove nineteen everybody was going through a hard time and she was like, Hey, pay what you can, you can't pay anything. I'll I'll give these to you right analysis set, and this has become like heart of her business. So yes, she's like amazing.

"It's just a lot yes pretty much. You saw everyone in the voyager cast and you just lead to some really cool topics and conversations and just a hang out that you don't normally get to see if you've listened to the drama the Delta quadrant episode of Omega Particle. Then you would probably know a lot of these like for example J. rhymes talking about how when she went to the bathroom with whole production has shutdown etc etc. And so if you've listened Opie p than you already know that cutting cutting edge of the STAR TREK universe Information it was other. I'll go into more detail of some stories coming up. I was most surprised at how the cast was so interactive and kind of chummy and Lovey dovey with one another because from the stories I researched and looked up while doing that drama episode. It didn't really seem that way. It just seemed okay. Come to work do your thing. Yeah we have finally pull some pranks but it's not as the level of the next generation cast but boy. I have to stand. Corrected was wrong in that draw episode. I made maybe about a month ago or so. I said the cable grew was dealing with a lot and that sometimes you never know what people are bring to work. And she actually elaborated on that. And when asked what's the best and worst part working on voyager and she said the worst part was when she got the job and she got to be Captain Janeway. Her boys were ten and eleven years old and so she rarely got the same. There's a lot of late night and so she's like I actually brought a lot of that on said unfortunately took it out on some people so like I said before you never know what people are dealing with and that insight. I didn't know that I didn't had I. I don't know that was first time revelation that she announced last night but to me was who's eye opening and say okay see you never know could be a lot could be a lot of things people are going through. I though that was nice insight and moment of vulnerability that normally we don't see through with very famous people but there was a lot of like fun facts. I didn't know like for example Roxanne and Robert. They play Tom. Pairs and the Lana on Voyager. And apparently they have this huge like Broadway background and they can seeing they can dan..

"On your sensors are correct. Do not adjust your heading. You've discovered the Omega particle streaming to the Alpha quadrant in beyond beyond. Here's your host. The Anchorman of the federation the Doctor of lifting this is Jonathan began. Welcome to you mega particle. It's OK P P you know me yes I am your host Jonathan weakened the guiding light for the Star Trek universe in this troubled dime. Welcome to the Omega Particle and yes. We are broadcasting today again on the eastern coast of the United States in my trek recording bunker or as to call it my garage today. I'm really excited about this episode. It's one of my personal favorite hobbies to read about and learn about Got Hooked on college and no. We're not talking about Mario Kart. We're talking about economics and this has been one of the subjects I've had on my bucket lists to cover ever since I started this podcast this past February so I'm excited to dive deep into the economics of the Federation as for now this will just be a one episode into the Federation. I've thought about making more episodes on. Maybe the Klingons Farang e or things like that. But I don't know if it takes off will Possibly do that. Who knows but for now? I'm just going to enjoy the federation because I was Actually having this Google hangouts with some lifelong friends from college and of the Big Trek Fans. There was actually like man. I'm excited for this subject. It seems really cool. Had questions about like Desert Federation money. What about scarcity in the federation o-man hold onto your hats? We're going to cover all that my friends. This will be very depth economic talk. So if you're not used to that To cover it make it. Layman's terms possible. It's really not that complex discovering super big questions like how people work in and do those kind of crappy jobs and no one wants to do in the federation if you don't have to work and how is the signing evolved to the point where They don't have to have money or resources. Have ANY SCARCITY ISSUES? The normally drive economies so We're going to cover all of that today. I'm excited to do so and just remember. You can always reach us at mega particle podcasts on Instagram and at Mega particle underscore on twitter Again thank you so much for following in just keeping up with the podcast means a lot. Yeah let's get into the economics of the federation before. I really dive deep into the economics of the federation one of the ways. I can help us as give you an a kind of a an insight into my economic mind and they've definitely been shaped by people. Like Friedrich Hayek Known Freeman Thomas Soul. Definitely read some piketty to be as well rounded as possible and those to me are some of the Great Economic Minds of the Twentieth Century in the twenty first century. However now we're moving onto the twenty four th century and it's a little change of pace than what we're normally used to hear at a P P but I'm excited to cover it and thank you for coming along for the ride. So basic economics states that we live in a world of limited resources so that creates the scarcity that there's only so many limited things out there pretty much that we have to dictate how their spent and we do that now through currency and money and that is one of the ways that economies are built. How do we deal with this scarcity scarcity issues and there're several we've covered on earth such as capitalistic free market to socialism and Marxism to mixture of Capitalistic Socialist in Europe? That's hot right now. Don't worry we're not going to get super political or dive deep into that or which is better which is worse or anything like that when he came it. Strictly in the twenty four century baby. And we're not gonNA dive into the things that plague our facebook feeds and our twitter feeds news news news. This is For me personally star. Trek is an escape. And that's what it's GonNa be today's well today. We'll be covering just GONNA laid out for some and I mentioned in the intro a little bit kind of how does money work in the federation our goods and services provided for how do they deal with scarcity. Do they even trade? Why do they trade? How do they trade? And what's the philosophy of their economic system like what drives it? What's going to get people to go to work? And those are simple questions. We answered our own economies today. But it's a little bit different when you have limitless resources like They do in the Federation in the twentieth century. So today we're going to cover some clips from a famous. Tng episode and Star Trek first contact. Where Picard is describing life in the twenty th century how they have no need for money how humans evolved out of that. And how? We're better for it kind of just get a foundation first and foremost from captain himself. So let's play that and I'm GONNA to back to back and we'll cover from there. That's what all this is about. A lot of change in the past three hundred years people are no longer obsessed with the accumulation of things. We've eliminated hunger. Walked the need for possessions. Grown out about infancy. Got It all wrong. It has never been about possession. It's about power power to do what to control your life. Your destiny kind of controlled is an illusion. Economic future is somewhat different. She money doesn't exist in the twenty. Th Century money pain BECUA- session of wealth is no longer the driving force in our lives. We work to petro south on the rest of humanity..

"Think any producers going or production companies who support this however weighing it has even suggested that we do a like a crowd funding thing For the movie and to produce the moving to raise the money I mean honestly I think it could be done but it may not be the quality we want but it definitely could be done. Millions definitely would-be raised. They even both commented. Mcneil and weighing. Like what would Tom Perez? And Ensign can be up to these days if we did shoot this movie and McNeil was like Paris would definitely be a spy. He'd be undercover somewhere. Super Super Bad but also good guy underneath and weighing was kind of an. I love this concept. That Wang said that Kim would quit starfleet because he never got promoted and out of anger. He would rent a retail space next to starfleet headquarters and he would call it Admiral Kims Barred Grille and he would give a discount to lower ranks and ensigns. Now that doesn't sound like a spite store. I don't know it is now if you don't know what a spite story is exactly that to set up a store to directly spite someone or something that is a direct reference to curb your enthusiasm. And lots of Larry's thought it was interesting that when Wang Pitched Rick Bergman they said no and I feel really bad for him because he was also the only star Trek cast member to be denied a directing role and I mentioned that on a previous episode. I think it was the void drama Delta quadrant episode but yeah he was denied. He wasn't allowed ladder direct because apparently it was too young. And I think that's Baloney. You have talent. You have talent so we're going to wrap up Delta Flyers Garrett Wang Robert I know we mentioned the last relaxed fit but I just wanted to cover that again because I thought it was really interesting that they were really pushing this Captain Proton series. And then they were really pushing avoid. You're moving in the past Right when voyager was ending so interesting staff so we're going to take a hard left and I found this on the Internet and I thought it was super interesting and this is going to go super down a hole in Super Star trekkie. So I assume you all are deep star Trek fans and you will find this just as goals I did. Everybody remembers the Star Trek. The voyage home with the whales not going go into deep recap but We learn in that movie that whales and other sea life and they're sentient beings so in Kirk and the crew eventually save the whales and save the species. is a sign of diplomacy and of solidarity with those species. The Enterprise D. Yes the Enterprise d they actually had a see -Tarian Operation Center and this award for Sealife. So you can find these blueprints of the Enterprise D with this operation center in. Apparently they have starfleet members that are dolphins and that are Wales and these actually help in navigation helping other things and you may be saying Jonathan. This is absolutely eroneous. This isn't what Wales on a ship or dolphins. I don't know but it's it's actually true. An cannon so there's actually a lot of references to this and. I thought it was just well as just look into this in the teen g episode. The perfect mate laforge actually took a Farang leader to this operations lab to see the dolphins simply just to distract him from bothering this ambassador and then also in aquatics lab was referencing. Tng Episode Genesis. I mean it's it's there and is in the official tech manual the Enterprise d blueprint. So I believe it's actually on deck thirteen crew of Twelve Atlantic Pacific bottlenose dolphins and then with two whale lawyers so they are this massive complex for these animals and I thought that was really neat in kind of a solitary diplomacy with this species so a little fun fact you can stump your friends with if you ever get into a trek one up the Enterprise d did have dolphins from Wales as crew members. They even had their own before. But wait wait. We're not done yet. Guess even had their own escape pods full of water so in case they needed a jettison away during an emergency they could they thought of everything's directly because there is literally no transition from that subject to this one. We're GONNA start covering discovery season. Three others major spoilers ahead again and it's been out a few years discovery season two so if you haven't seen it get on. It on CBS. It's great as the season. Two concludes the discovery in Burnham. Jump ahead by nine hundred thirty years into the future and they do it separately. Go go into that because I don't want to spoil a lot. Jonathan Franks one of the directors of season three has said. There's going to be a large tonal shift in discovery in especially with Michael Burnham normally in the past two seasons of discovery. It's all dealt with her pain and her regret in her issues with the past how she acted basically how she started the Klingon conflict however season. Three FRAC says that it's going to be a lot more action adventure in a lot more character development in less about the pain of the past which I think is smart because we've really fleshed that idea out for Burnham and it's we we kind of the show wants to progress. We need to progress as well with that character and she even gets a new partner in crime and his name's book just from the preview images looks really cool and Kinda futuristic landscapes. Such a smart idea to move it ahead almost a thousand years pulling a Futurama there and gives them so much. More flexibility in storytelling. Because I know I mean the Golden Age of Star Trek from TNG in all the movies. Ds nine really is only in white like a car. It's really only what like a thirty forty year? Timespan really hard to fit into that timeframe. So now they're going to go into Blow it out of proportion go thousand years in the future which gives them so much flexibility. What's the federation like? Is there a federation? What's the state of Earth was the state of humanity? And so I really hope they focus on those central themes and not on. Ooh Look at this technology and kind kinda get lost in the technology of the future and and because that's a rabbit hole. You can go down big time so I think it's a really neat idea and smart play to do it. So far in the future I know season will all be about reunifying the discovery crew and trying to find a way back home. And maybe that's how they get that that. Tien I mentioned before in previous episodes tie in about doing this. Pike section thirty one and Discovery Picard. All tie in kind of Netflix defender style series. Mainly that's how they do it. Maybe they time travel back or they get into this quandary where everybody's in time travel speaking of discovery and CBS. All access is that they are acquiring more and more star Trek movies and they've already have all the shows on. Cbs access however Viacom CEO said that they're going to do a major major rebranding in the future particularly this summer with the whole all access programs and all access platform been specifically mentioned star Trek. Another major franchises up. Cbs saying they're going to leverage that and change for the better so we don't really know what's going to be. That looks like when it's going to happen but changes is definitely coming to that platform. I think that's smart because there's so many new streaming services that pretty to me. Cbs All access is the Star Trek. One I that's all I use it for and again they still have that free one-month trial you can use up to. May tenth and you can use the code capitalize all A. L. L. to redeem that. So you get a month free. That should be enough time to to bend the first two seasons of discovery. And also if you want to catch up on any other star. Trek shows movies. I think it's a smart idea to do that because I mean they are booming because of the card in the first quarter of twenty twenty. They had fifty percent more subscribers than the previous year. And that's to me totally because regard because people love the character were hungry for more and since we showed so great supportive card now. Hopefully we get some more great trek content shows out of it which I think they're definitely on the pipeline about and I mean who even knows they may even start doing fooling feature films specifically made all access. I know they're planning to do that with the walking dead and AMC so anything's possible and who knows we'll probably get that Captain Proton web series anyway. So they'd seven being rebranded but again Roy that free month you have until May tenth and use the code all to do that now. That has been the most recent an up-to-date star Trek News. I wonder if I can come. Cheer up still on to find something new in this one for year to recall your wars Freeman who so free as of the wave. Cows ways on ready steady voice any. We'll five compoud again once again. Thank you for listening to this. Relax episode covering the news and just a quick reminder beyond the lookout on Instagram for our giveaway will be. I think it will probably last week. The details in description will all be on. Instagram are handle is at Omega Particle. Podcast and we're now on twitter again. It's at Omega particle underscore. "On your sensors are correct. Do not adjust your heading. You've discovered the Omega particle streaming to the Alpha quadrant and beyond beyond. Here's your host the Omega Banker Man. I Apologize For taking a little bit longer than normal to produce and edit this podcast episode because it is so much material majority. The Borg Activity Occurs In the twentieth century. Due to. That's when the federation became known about the work so it's a lot so hopefully I'll try to keep it a shortest possible hopefully under an hour but if it goes longer. "When they were doing production of card they when the episode with the rikers Michael Dorn in the visited the set and so these people are still a super closed in real life. I would not be shocked to see a wharf or laforge comeback into Picard at the same time or maybe separately but it was. It's definitely going to happen. It's just a matter of when and WHO and he even said. Burton goes into while if if Jordan did come back. This is what I would want him to do. I'd want him to be teaching and passing on the knowledge that he learned throughout his career. So those are very specific notions and ideas. That he wants so wouldn't surprise me if it's already in the works However sad news the have been doing although writing cards season two but they haven't actually gone into shooting and they were planning to do it this summer but it's been pushed back to Kobe. Nineteen for safety reasons and I completely agree with that. It's just it's a bummer. Because there may be some big gaps between Picard season one and hopefully discovery season three comes out on time but this is hard to say because of the safety issues with Kobe. Nineteen and social distancing however it is nice to see maybe we'll get some Burton action in the future speaking of Kovic. Nineteen kind of wrecking everything. We're going to start out with some a little bit bad news in rapid with some good news as we finish this relaxed fit episode is that. I'm sure you've probably already heard but comic con. San Diego has officially been canceled. He was originally going to be for the weekend of July. Twenty third through the twenty six and in a I mean I I agree with shutting things down I know that seems super far out but to have that thousands and thousands of people from all over the world is a smart concept. And if you're angry about that I mean it's it's for the greater good and trust me. Nobody understands cancellations more than me personally. I'm a marathon runner and it's very difficult to plan for a marathon. Because you have to have at least three or four months of training all these cancellations of come out and it's like wow. I've just wasted the last three or four months for nothing and I'm registered for the Chicago Marathon. The beginning of October and then one called the Marine Corps Marathon at the end of October. And everybody's gas because it's like they're probably going to be canceled. Should I even begin training? I understand cancellations and how frustrating they can be and then you lose a bunch of money on plane tickets and hotels but there is a little bit of good news out of this. Is that the Convention Center that they've been using for the San Diego. Comic Con has actually been turned into temporary hospital in slash cove in nineteen testing area. So I think that's an amazing use of those resources instead of remaining empty and it's frustrating. But you have to think the quicker we can beat this the quicker we can get back to normal so. I know it's frustrating some bad news. However here's a little bit of good news and to help again kind of in the same vein as the cocktails with Kate is that there are a lot of new streaming services that are coming out with this watch. Party APPS and watch party capabilities one of them is from paramount and they will be holding live virtual screenings of Star Trek to wrath of Con. The closest one will be April twenty fifth through an APP called. Cya Live not cover here. It's called Cya. Live and I think you can pay a dollar ninety nine to be a part of this live streaming and it seems a little much but they are bringing in two special guest host. They are the host of the inglorious experts Whose names are mark. Altman and Darren door chairman and they will be doing a intro to the movie and they're doing a QA afterwards but the cool thing about Cya live is that you can talk and communicate throughout the movie with the guest and then with whoever's involved while watching the movie so it's a cool concept at kind of in the same vein as the Netflix. Watch party. No you haven't heard of this. It's a chrome extension. The netflix came out with that. If you're on a desktop or laptop you can share specific code. Your friends and you can watch Netflix together. In this kind of private room where you can chat and talk about which. I think is totally cool and I need to do that. Because there's so many good Star Trek episodes that I can watch with some of my friends so I encourage people to do that. He doesn't have to be Star Trek but try to watch party together. I thought about doing that something on like an instagram live. Kinda just held the social distancing and maybe not have people seem so far apart and alone so you can do that on net flicks however Amazon prime is starting to work with twitch. Now I've never used twitch before because I'm not a huge Gamer. But they're trying to work out. Some Dior Amazon prime members can use the twitch software to have the same thing. Have the same watch party. Nothing's been announced yet. I think it's still in Beta testing. So if you WANNA be a tester for that I would definitely go to twitch DOT TV if your name is on. Prime member go to their main prime website and see what can be done but but circle back around go to see. Why live two dollars a ticket to watch that wrath? Akon live with those podcasting guys and there are other streaming cons that people are starting to come up with like I think cameo did on April eighteenth they did this massive iconic characters virtual panel and it had of course had Jonathan Facts. And so they had a lot of by common characters. Show up so I don't know if you can go online and watch that. I think it's for Free Cameo but upcoming is that on April twenty fifth and May Second. There is a kind of a virtual. They're calling it a hollow Khan and it's through the lambda quadrant podcasting network. They're going to have special guests. Nicole Day Bauer. She Played Dax on designed for the season. I think it's a neat idea to kind of check in and even though we have to be distant physically doesn't mean we can still interact and attend these quote unquote virtual COMECON panels. So definitely check them out like I said it's on Twenty Fifth April twenty fifth of May second through the Lambda quadrant. So I think that's all the news we're gonNA cover today but let's wrap up this episode and move on. I'm under if I can come cheer up but I still had to find something new in this one for you to recall your wars Freeman. Who so free as of the waves always ready steady boys any real five. I'm recalling out again so I'm in the middle of researching and getting ready for Borg Three while I can't believe it's already been to other episodes and in that episode we'll cover The main meat of all board history mets the twenty fourth century as well as the heavy hitters Captain Picard and Captain Janeway. The main two captains. I've interacted with the board more than anyone as well as a little bit of Cisco he doesn't have a lot but we'll just throw it in there because it fits neatly snugly in that twenty four th century once again if you guys WanNa debate or one comment on the show. Please hit me up at Omega Particle podcast on Instagram. Or you can email me at Omega Particle podcast Edgy. Jimoh DOT COM. Feel free to reach out. It's not like we have anything to do. Our lifestyles are super busy right now. Just WanNa say thank you for listening and tuning has only been a blast. We'll get back and I can't wait to cover our conclusion of the Borg series. Now remember second sort of the right straight onto morning.

"We are broadcasting and streaming to you live from the eastern coast of the United States. And we are happy to be here again to cover another week of Star Trek News now as opposed to last week this week. We actually have a lot to cover A lot of interesting projects that were announced. And I'm actually really excited for one of them and kind of an interesting. Take personally why. This project was developed. But we'll see if it sticks and if it's hopefully it is because I love these guys running this new project but let's get into the relaxed fit episode. Always remember wherever you're at you could be driving new could be at home. Hopefully and if you're in essential worker thank you just Take off those shoes. Dig Up those socks. Stretch up those leggies and relax because today warned is going to have a good time not really worried about what's going on the world outside of us and just focus on enjoying some good old star Trek News. The doctor lithium is in the anchorman of the Federation. And let's start with some news. So how can I get you to fly boys? You See. It's an earth drink prune juice warriors. Drink you are absolutely right and I couldn't be happier. Cork a round of drinks for the House on my tab. Gentlemen find me a mean thing. No it's just the fifth woman to ask me that question this morning all I choir is to sit in the sun. Read my book alone afterward. I really haven't thought that far ahead. So first of this week we hung not we but some people celebrated the four twenty holiday and I am very much on social media with the Omega Particle podcast instagram page and I kept seeing all of these doctor crusher four twenty high means and gifts and I was so confused I was like why is doctor crusher the symbol forgetting high in the Star Trek Universe is. I don't understand it I even like looked it up and try to find the reasons behind. Maybe there's this episode or maybe like where she takes them like mind altering drug and nothing. Nothing I was so I was so perplexed I was like why did the Star Trek mean communities bestow Beverly Crusher as the poster child of marijuana Houston's star Trek I don't know I mean You think about it. She did try to have quote unquote relations with a ghost in one of the TNG episode. So I don't know maybe I don't know it's it's wild so but if you know please let me know Y there. Maybe there's a reason behind it so please let me know. I was fumbled but the some light hearted news very confused by that. Not really into that drug community or drug culture of really. Don't know but I was a surprise. That somebody they picked crusher if anything maybe they would pick reicher because he seems like I mean. He has sex with everything that moves. I was like maybe they would pick pick him but anyway moving onto the big big big story very big shoe today and that is the announcement this week of the Delta Flyer podcast. Yes in the same vein as office ladies. Now if you don't know an office ladies is the actresses that played Pam and Angela started this office rewatch podcast and they go through each episode and they talk about the behind the scenes how it happened little quirks or maybe mistakes that we didn't see before like maybe somebody on the production staff look a cup of coffee or anything random like that and so it's in the same vein is that that. Garrett Wang and Robert Duncan McNeill are launching this. Voyager rewatch series. I think it's the perfect time for this number one. It's voyagers twenty fifth anniversary number two. They're just about to start a documentary on voyager coming out pretty soon we'll cover that in the next Couple minutes now. They're seven years of voyager. Go through and my hope. My honest hope is that it's very successful. And it kicks off. And He makes people fall in love with voyager. I know I'm going to go and re watch the show as they do the episodes and I think I encourage everyone to do that. We gotta help these guys out. Get this thing off the ground however I am terrified that it's not going to last because it's such a tumultuous thing to do is to cover so many episodes when my really good friends shout out to Jason and was like well the content with doing episode reviews it rights itself and that's true however it's just so much it can be overwhelming and kind of. Hopefully the audience isn't turned off so I I know they're gonNA do in a cool special way and I'm excited for that to come out. There really isn't any release date on it. They just launched an instagram page. So I know that in the works right now so Whenever that comes we'll let you know however. Is this like a new trend in podcasting. Because I listened to the office ladies maybe the first five or six episodes I kind of fell off because I just have so many other podcast. I listen to that I was like okay. I'll just chime in when I can but from what I've talked to my friends at super successful people love it. They have great guest host on office lady. So is this a new trend in podcasting? Is this going to be shows? That can be revisited with certain stars I think it'd be neat to see but I just hopefully this isn't just a fad and a trope like I said you're you're signing on for a super long commitment when you're doing that many reviews so and then what happens when the reviews are done and you run of episodes at the end of the podcast or see it's just. I don't know And that's why personally I decided not to do. Series episodic reviews is because yes. There's a ton of content but it's limited and if I mean you're Kinda boxing yourselves in because eventually you'd have to change the entire spectrum entire content of the podcast like if you discover original series and then the three seasons are done. What else you do you move on to something else a Tgi or is not for me. So that's why we structured o p a little differently so moving on like I mentioned a few minutes ago the voyager documentary still in production and surprised to find out that it's being made by the same people that made the D. S. nine documentary. What we left behind and that was a very well. Done documentary loved. It loved seeing what season it could have been four D. S. nine so I'm really curious what they're going to cover touch on in the documentary. there's a previous episode of Omega Particle that we dealt with the behind the scenes drama on Voyager. And they're probably the most drama behind the scene. So I'm sure there's going to be some coverage of that in the documentary however producer. David Zep hone has posted several updates on social media on the previous relaxed fit news episodes. We've covered the Star Trek crews and this is where majority of the filming was done for this voyage documentary simply because they had the entire cast in one central location that they could record those interviews in even record multiple like panels or something like that. It was good idea to do that on the cruise however now I think the shooting is done and they're going into like post production so hopefully we'll get that soon sometime this year. No date Sir Out or anything like that and speaking of wager and speaking of the cast. This is something that's kind of new and just started I don't know if any of you follow Kate mulgrew on social media but Captain Janeway is doing a unique thing to help with the social distancing an isolation that people feel she is actually hosting a virtual happy hour with six fans. Now what you'll do is you'll send in kind of description of how this isolation and how this pandemic has touched your life and how it's changed your view on society and she will select six fans from that. So if you want to submit you can email your story and your perceptions about life and society to cocktails with Kate Edgy Mill Dot Com. If you have a really good story I think it's cool and I'm definitely going to check those out so with all the voyager news. We're going to go back to some breaking new picard developments which I'm kind of not super surprised about and I think I posted a story. Instagram story about this is that Lavar. Burton is rumored to be coming back now. I think it's a brilliant idea to bring joy back primary source on this is interview. He did with entertainment tonight and he was asked if there was a potential for. Jordy to come back in a car and maybe season to season three and Lavar Burton smartly said. Well I don't WanNa get myself into trouble. Which means is there a secret? Is he hiding something? Very interesting comment normally. If there was nothing he would say. Oh well no of course not. I haven't been approach have been asked but he says No. I don't WanNa get myself into trouble. And he continues and says it's super reasonable to assume that the people are still a part of the cards life. The people that he got close to on the enterprise and that possibly you get several cast members coming back on the card in the future but maybe not all at one time and then he cheekily says well never say never so. I think that's an interesting idea because.

"Fear should be respected seven. Tommy how many more Gra sacrifice during this experiment? Twenty-nine vessels six hundred thousand drones. But that is irrelevant to me at my crew and after the people who live in this question. I'm going to neutralize this threat. Seven with without your while. Twenty nine vessels and six hundred thousand drones that is a lot in the pursuit of this Omega Particle or VP. They got the board. Got Really close to stabilizing. But they didn't have enough bore night and borough night more like Bora Fil. Sorry and so. They didn't have borne. I got always remember. Keep your status unborn night but this leads directly into this fan theory that I've found on read it and I was like man. This could really explain all of the Borg's kind of shifting tides because they they really are all over the map sometimes a really not a consistent basis like if they were dead set on conquering they would have conquered most of the galaxy. You know they would have just onset completely one by one easily taken over because no one really can stand with them. However we don't see that and there are a few theories why so one of the things the reasons why they don't just straight up conquer is that there's this theory called the kind of quote unquote farming theory and this theory. Is that the borger farming the galaxy in order to stimulate technological advances. And now I mean that is what is presented in the very first episode is that. Oh they simulate technology and that's one of the things they have to do however I mean to me makes the board either super lazy or incompetent. I think that's why they got rid of that. Theory in the T and G and Voyager series of. They're like oh. We don't want just technology when people those very quick change so the farming theories like me because I mean the board don't need to form cultures for technology because they're very much capable of doing their own research are very much capable producing doing. I mean amazing research. I mean look what Seven of nine said about though mega particle. I mean that's boom right there. I mean six hundred thousand drones and twenty nine ships. They have the they have the capability of doing their own scientific research. So saying where it's GONNA take technology for the sake of technology I think is a lazy theory and if the Board are doing this farming theory I think they're terrible at it because there's a lot less societies out there that are technologically advanced as the board. So they're pretty much getting outdated technology and I mean there's even so much they won't like I mentioned last week they won't even touch the Kaysone because of not as advanced as they want them to be so. I think it's kind of like okay like we're again. I think it's the writers and producers getting more acquainted with the villain and having them shift from technology to people and I suggest an alternative different kind of idea is that the bork have advanced like as fast as they possibly could. Something has been slowing them down from all of this. Congress and the time delay has rendered almost assimilating. The entire federation irrelevant. And we know that something likely is slowing them down because what seven nine told us and it circles. Maxing the mega particle in the AMIGA molecule. The Mega particle has significant potential cost to that development. I mean if you fail to stabilize it it will explode but not only explode. It will damage all of sub space in a way that make trans warp impossible. So the entire Borg Omega like Particle Experiments. Were done around twenty one. Forty five as seven describes. But maybe that's why there's still a federation so consider of the experiment happened. Within within a few light years the board home systems. Okay now depending on the power of that Omega experiment he could have almost created a quote UNQUOTE MOAT. That would have a war. Bliss sub space around them and if that surrounding the board power base the unit complex that would complicate expansion considerably. Now I mean of course the board could just slow their way through it and it would significantly complicate and delay their expansion. The damage to that sub space may be bottle-necking the space between Alpha quadrant and the board. So I mean I know Jane. We didn't find anything in the Delta quadrant like that but she also fast forward like a bunch of workspace thanks to kiss in the voyager episode the Gift So of course the voyager cruden exactly finish the entire journey from the delta to the Alpha quadrant so there could be this mode of non-sub space out there that has delayed the board entirely and kind of explains the entire board idea in first contact. You know like okay. Well we can't take out the federation and the Federation now has time to really go after US and develop and evolve weaponry to US would have we just go back in time and take about and that makes perfect sense and I would actually believe with that. So I think with this single bottle necking of the Borg and this continuing research. The mega particle is I mean. Even seven said it was the most important priority priority number one now that we know that the board most important is that Omega Particle then comes with. They ran out of bore night. Maybe they need more born night. And maybe that's why they don't really regard in kind of steamroll. The Federation is that they just they just want to bore night. They're just simply going after the boar night note is an interesting theory because I mean it deals with. Why haven't the board really taking over the galaxy is that there's this bottle necking because of the Omega sub space explosions and also because of their just simply about boar night. I mean I think it's really a simplistic theory. Kind of subscribe to half of that theory unhappy about the bottle necking and destroying sub space in slowing down the board expansion. I think that's definitely it However I don't think they're solely about the born like we're going to go after only the Bourne I we only care about the board night and I'm like That doesn't really fit. And you have to wave off a ton of bork history and Borgwarner action. So I like the theory. That the mega particle experiments really slowed down the Borg and really almost saved the federation. So that's a cool concept and I think it's definitely should be explored maybe in future episodes of Picard or discovery or section thirty one or pike or whatever they whatever they end up doing is that there's a lotta great potential for history and plot the ties directly to the other series of the show. However I think that maybe you don't want to develop too much of the Borg Kazan. It's kind of like it's just about the federation as it is about the board so those are my two cents thousand cool theory and this has been the second episode in the Board series. Thank.

"The first one today is kind of really surprising to me because I never thought this actress would ever want to be in Star Trek or is big trekkie but this person just landed the role of Osaka. Tano now if I butcher that name has because I've never watched star wars the clone wars but Rosario Dawson has expressed interest in playing. Get this queue in Star Trek. Now I don't know how I personally feel about that. Just to be honest because q is always so brilliantly played by John De Lance. So it'd be tough for me to see anybody else play queue or AAC you now. There have been multiple cues like now you had a son and also had a wife so it'd be interesting to me to see what they end up doing with. Q as Rosario Dawson has expressed interest in the cool thing about her is that she could transport through all of the different series so she could be a card she could be in Discovery. She could be pike in so she could. Just Kinda Trans impose on all of these different series of the same time so which I think would be really neat and really cool however to me. She's more of like a grind house. Actress Disturbed famous roles like death proof but She has done great like as the night nurse in the Marvel defender series. So I mean I think it would be kind of almost too much to add a queue in there. And they're even thinking like mentioned episodes back of doing a crossover with all these different star trek shows and doing some back full time travel so I don't think it'd be a great idea to bringing Q. And if you did bring in Q. Just make one If he brought in to card in. It's not John De Lance. I think that would be a travesty. On all account Sir Patrick Stewart and Lance have such great chemistry that to bring in just a new person into that queue relationship with car would just be weird now unlike it. Hopefully you people agree with me. And if not feel free to let me know on instagram proud to say we have over seven hundred followers so big round of applause. Thank you for that and again you can always reach just at Omega Particle podcast. And if you WANNA email me you can always email me at mega particle podcast. Jim Dot Com. We're happy to be. They're happy to debate or happy just to talk either way. Let me know your thoughts on Cue. I think it's I think it's an interesting idea. A cool concept but it could go wrong very quickly very fast moving onto people wanting to stay or get into the star. Trek world is even pack has famously said that he now has drinking drank has drank the Kool aid of Star Trek. And he wants to play. Spock again now. If you haven't watched discovery even peg plays like a younger. Spock that served on Pike's enterprise so I think it'd be cool to have him come on. Pike show it'd be really awesome but especially with how discovery ended in season two. I don't know if that's feasible to bring spock. Back is definitely a possibility definitely with Pike. That show it's just. I don't WanNa get into temporal backflips again. I mentioned with Q I but I do love the fact that he's willing and wants to play. And that's the cool thing about a lot of these actors and actresses like once you are on track. You pretty much set for a really long time. That opens a whole world of comic cons of mean greets of constantly being in the spotlight in some way not as grandiose as like you once were but you always will be welcomed and loved on so. I'm glad he's kind of realizing that feeling that and some actors and actresses don't get that so. I'm glad this guy in this. Prominent spock role is. I mean honestly personally like I really didn't understand making spock in the red angel like I thought it was a cool idea and a concept but it was just I just felt like they just pushed him in there to get spock to be a central character of discovery. And I I mean it opened a lot of cool doors in season two but I'm just not a super huge fan of that second season of discoveries so and I've never done a discovery recap review because I started this last February twenty twenty. So it's kind of all came out way before then so. I've never really expressed my feelings. But not the greatest fan of season. Two's can rebut. It was very good. Don't do too much on spock like I'd rather become almost like a cameo ask in Pike. Pike run the show. Because you don't want it to be all about spot that's a good transition to will discovery versus TNG versus ninety golden age track versus new age of track and Jonathan Fracture. Mentions that in. I think it was galaxy. Con- he had this weapon a Webinar interview and he was talking about how people need to really accept and love on these new star. Trek shows. That are coming out. Napa card is brilliant in discovery is good not as good as the car but it's good and he referenced how when. Tng came on the nineties or early eighties. Is that how so many star Trek people were so against it. Vehemently against this new idea of a new captain and a whole new enterprise in whole new federation and they just wanted the bones. Scotty Kirk Enterprise. And what they got. Was this French English man who liked Shakespeare and first officer who can't sit down normally so and he talked about how much and that was true. I've been reading up on it in researching at there is such animosity towards that first. Couple seasons of Star Trek and what they did is as crazy Nathan so many episodes of TNG so that it kind of changed the structure of Star Trek. So maybe there's some truth that maybe as a fan base we can just kind of calm down a little bit and not Rivera to the T and g days and now the funny thing is. Is that discovering Bakar? The season's coming out now may be revered in twenty years when something new comes out and made my all. It's not like the silver age of Star Trek in the mid two thousand and so I think it's kind of an interesting concept. We need to just calm down and enjoy it. Because there's a lot of times fan bases we don't get a lot of content like I was talking to my wife and she was really into anime and Manga. She told me that a lot of times. Manga may run for books. Five books anime may run twenty episodes. That's all you get. And they don't ever expand it but this is all you get. That's the nature of the beast. That may we got really into one called Cowboy bebop and that really. Kinda made me sad. Because there's like twenty three twenty four episodes in you really didn't get a super in-depth expanded universe like you do and it's good stuff. It's not. It's not crap like if it was enterprise at understand really bad writing but these are great writers in great hits altogether speaking of New Star Trek and one of the things. I've always loved adored and I'm sure many of you out there have as well is how star Trek will always represent or reflect our time when they make episodes in. This is most famously done and the original series when they deal with Vietnam when they deal with race relations and they all do this under the guise of metaphor and allegory. And so I thought it was really well done again in card this season because they had the Romulo refugee crisis in the federation wanted to help. And now in this. It'd be like the. Ussr suddenly didn't exist anymore. All these Russians in the mid eighties. We would have to kind of take care of them. That was really great. Social Commentary. But we've also done it before like in most famously I'm thinking of is the Karazin store in if you've never watched the S. nine as the Cardin scenes were not the not the famous family but the race of the Kardashians were basically this occupying force on Bayshore and they were labor camps concentration camps and the terrible war crimes against the visual and people on ds nine really explore that and it talks about how only like as a Nazi Jewish people allegory. But also as a modern times invading army enforce into a relatively peaceful people but it's great social commentary however and I totally agree with Patrick Stewart on this he didn't interview for the CBC. And he said I do not want a pandemic storyline for this neck for Picard and season to season three. I'm just I don't want it and I completely agree with him. I think we get enough of that every day. I mean there's people out there that have lost jobs have lost loved ones. Were stuck at home self quarantining. So you don't have to tell us you don't have to show us this pandemic on TV because we're living it like we don't need to be reminded in a year. Oh yeah that was really terrible. Remember that so the pandemic storyline and plot lines are definitely going to be flushed out for cheap ratings and and cheap movies and TV shows so we just don't think it's a good idea to kind of follow that trope that will definitely probably becoming in a year or two. I plus Star Trek. Shouldn't I mean we've done episodes like that in the past but for right now no link? Let's focus on something else and escape this pandemic lifestyle that we live now into something different one of speaking of escape good transition one of the best ways to do that is there's this fan out there and he actually edited in all of the bloopers from tng into the original episodes. And so it's it's absolutely beautiful absolutely hilarious. If you haven't seen it definitely check it out. it's something to just kind of pass the time to get a good laugh at and kind of see how they really interacted with one. Another and it's it's fun to see so we've got some time you can YouTube So that really all the big news that I've kind of taken aback by normally these episodes are allow longer but with everything going on. There's not a lot of news so I just brought you kind of the most interesting pieces that I've found over the past maybe week and I know a lot of them dealt with like we need except the new and we need to like be your family. Kinda storylines but I just don't want to trash to the point where you have. Fans being unhappy no matter what happens to matter what they produce hence like the New Star Wars trilogy. Yeah this is my two cents but that has been the star Trek News.

"So first off. I had no idea how divisive this season finale was until I started reading comments on facebook and other reviews and wow very different takes than I personally have Again I maybe this is just the state of the trek right now and this is what I'm seeing. I kinda don't like our responding. It seems like there's five times more negative reviews of Picard out there than positive and I don't know if that's just because we're becoming like star wars where we have a lot of content and is not living up to our childhood memories and expectations and things like that. I don't know but I will say this car season one was phenomenal. Yes it had shortcomings. Every show does but it was a phenomenal excursion into track. I I mean you can argue the little facts here and there. But it's not a rehash of T and G. I don't care what anybody says. It is a great character arc and deep dive into John mcbain card and we get a great story and plot lines out of it that are not cheap and are not easily written and so you have to applaud the auditor auch. You have to applaud the writers for that now again. It's not perfect and we'll cover some of those imperfections throughout this review. But I just wanted to say that at the top. I'm just shocked at how many people didn't like that. The finale and everybody talked to all my friends seem to love it. That's just my two cents on the state of track but if you would like some cheerful news. I don't know if you follow surpass Stewart on social media but he's reading a Shakespearean sonnet every day throughout this whole quarantine locked down so I would definitely check it out. It's a great little Way To start your day. And that's what I've been doing the past few days so that out of some cheerful news. But let's get into the main meat about the so nine episode ten so the name of the episode is him. Forgive me because I would never formally studied. Latin is et in Arcadia Ego. I know Ego Eggo. We're keeping that in post. I don't care what Luna's Lewisham where keeping that in so it's actually Latin but it means death in paradise and that a very interesting title for what so happened on his. I'd call Cintas. Bill is Rafi said again. We're going to do things will be different in this review. I'M NOT GONNA do hash out the actions of the whole episode play-by-play. I'm actually GONNA do just character deep dives of the episode. What did I think the themes of the episode etc? At the beginning some people say that it was very. Tng like disagree just because it was an m class planet just because it was tricky and all the problems are solved. The doesn't mean it's a next generation episode. I Dunno where people are getting that so I personally loved what they did some of the decisions especially with regards spoiler alert. If you haven't seen it please go see episode nine and ten before you continue. Listening who listens to review. Episodes has want episode. I Dunno so we're going to start off with Picard and I liked him through throughout this whole season showing more just in motion you know because in. Tng in the show in the movies we really didn't get a wide range. You got a little bit especially on his anger side in may be after he in. I think season four T and g where he comes back home to the car. Winery is that you see a little glimpse of who he is but now a lot and I love this show because you really kinda peel back the onion and peel back the layers and see what makes up his character and his emotional range as they is a person. I love that they started off the episode with Picard. Telling the crew of low Serena that Hey I've got this terminal illness and I don't want to be treated any different and just let you know in case it. There's anything comes up in the future and now I love. They gave Picard this. I shouldn't say that several I love how they humanizing even more with. Hey you have this terminal disease. And we learned that the beginning of the season and it kind of stays dormant until the very end of the season and I don't like how they wrapped it perfectly up and we'll get to that you know what I'm talking about the AGOM thing. I personally didn't like how they tied in a bow with his whole disease. Now he doesn't have it anymore. I thought they were just going to keep that around for the entire series that it would poke its head up every now and then to remind you. Hey He's not gonna live forever and hey this is going to be an ongoing thing kind of like they did with seven of nine and her board transplants all throughout voyager. But they just know they're like no we're going to wrap it in a bow and he doesn't have it anymore so I was. Kinda surprised by that and I. I don't know if it was a cheap trick see. I didn't think everything the writers. It was perfect. I just like I was saying earlier that I think this decision was a little hasty and I just didn't like it honestly If you disagree with me please reach out and also speaking of just like frailty and shortcomings then Picard speech at when. He's trying to convince the symphony and he's trying to say. Hey We have the federation will listen to you. The Federation will protect you. The Federation will back you and they don't believe in them and I don't know if that's because it will cover this later because they're baby chickens and they don't have an opinion for themselves or is because Alton came up and just Kinda trashes theory so I think it's it's more Alton just came up trashes and That doesn't usually happen to before too much in Star Trek. He's pretty diplomatic when he needs to be and he gets the usually gets the job done so I was surprised at that. Big Speech didn't work and even so g sided with the Senate and I mean the writers really could have had an easy out with all of this. They could have done a okay. The sense believe him. They're not going to create the beacon. They're not gonNA call those and everything could even wrapped up fine. It could have been really easy for riders to do that however they show another layer of frailty and how hey picard fails sometimes. He's not perfect so I applaud them on taking that that risk that was good and again stain on this emotional highway Card is that we see more development to on his range of emotions. And we kinda start to see that come to fruition in episode when he's sitting at the table with SOCI- talking about data and how he love data and he would one day to remember him in a certain way and we finally see that come into bloom now when he says he loves Rossi and that he's proud of elmore and even seven of nine news. Welcome to the Q. Like that's your job to save the world now so he realizes his times coming to an end he's no longer has to be the great picard. He can sit back when other people run the show and also expresses emotions that people that are important to them so I thought that was great. Capped off the season. We really don't have to explore that maybe next season. I'm sure we will in some way shape or form. Maybe a romantic line or something like that for now. I'm very happy with how they've developing in grown picard is a character also. He even says to Reicher that he thanks him for all that he's done for him in the past and for showing up in supporting him and and I love that we got to see pizza. Chef reicher mentioned that one more time and that was my whole part favorite part of the episode to be with us when Reicher shows up and the federation show up so the beginning in episode nine we see like this failure frailty with the scent than he can't convince Altan and he can't convince them to kind of trust in the federation but at the end of episode ten we see Picard finally reach Soji and he becomes the old diplomat Picard and he puts on the charm he puts his trust in her and she showed some the beacons so in a way. It's great to see failure and success. Okay you know. We're about to talk about hold onto your hats. Oh goodness is dead technically. I am the fumbled that they did this number one and they put a little Easter egg in their Altan was working on the Ghalem android project to call it and it's as transfer complete and then Altan discovers that the Romney Lynn. His daughter so then he runs away so it was very quick. But if you saw that I was like okay. That's what they're gonNA do. They'RE GONNA put a card in this in his android body when he dies if he dies and he turned out he did. I don't know if they did this by banning. The writers did this to kind of wrap up in kind of excuse the corner that they've painted themselves into with his terminal disease because they couldn't just mentioned that in like the first episode or two and then never bring it up again so I don't know they're just bailing themselves out or if they were China Korea more emotional connection with Soji. I don't know what the the purpose was or to just be like. He's unstoppable now he's an android but I will say I don't know I think it was kind of a Douche. Move to be honest with you because first off. There's a whole ethical implication with us about somebody dying then bringing them back. So there's we're not gonNA get into that. That's an altered carbon netflix thing. However number one they don't tell them how many years he has left number two they don't give them any abilities number three. They don't let him decide how many years he has left like. I'm sure if somebody if I woke up one day. It sounds like you're injured now and you have the ability to live for ever. Oh okay well. That's something I would like to decide when that ending should be and if I should have been putting in this state so issues opens a can of Worms Pandora's Box Lynn's the question is picard. Still Picard like he has all his memories and his and his consciousness. I guess but his. He's still the car I don't know but it was a cool factor. Find out that he was ninety four and that's really all I didn't know he was that old. But this the timeline seems check out from from my math though. I mean it's I don't expect the Picard series to run for like five seasons. But maybe that's why they're giving themselves out again to kind of bail out in the future. It was interesting. I never expect to Picard now. Being enjoyed BIA sense but also one of the most favorite aspects.

You come in contact with so of course there's a lot And then also we're going to cover some news. There's so much news going on in the Star Trek World Right now and then also some big theories as well Now these news if you watch the video which was probably in stream live video. It's probably about four or five minute video. I covered all this new super quick. But I'M GONNA go over them in detail here just to go through the nuts and bolts and here. We go so one of the coolest things I've ever seen and I'm sure a lot of you have seen this Because you're just trek fans opposite Patrick Stewart announced that he was going to let People Watch Picard on..

"Sacrificed analyzing too many compromises already too many retreats space and they fall back this entire world back not again likes patrol as far no five make. Yeah he still working on a day to day process so I love the little tidbit of advice that obviously seven does not take she takes Jay out and I was surprised by that surprise. Move but again. It's showing how far she's come since when we saw her on. Voyager and real quick subplot Roffe in her son and all that like I really don't I don't know I know that's the rider's trying to just show as this isn't your grandfather's track because there's space heroin and there's vape big and there's and fractured relationships and I don't. I don't know if they're trying to show us like the the effects of having a career over family and how the broken relationships like Cards living with some Romulus. He's not really living with family. And then like Roffe doesn't have a son I don't know if it's that or they're just trying to show more real kind of Star Trek. I really don't care for it only to have in the episode but still it's very well acted and very well written. Okay so the big mystery plot. His Agnes is delay Chin maybe for Romulus or four section. Thirty one I really don't know but she takes out Bruce Matic's for self. Why why would you hide that? You're in a relationship from everybody so as Agnes is like taking addicts out. She's like you don't know what they've shown me. And it made me think back a few episodes like you had commodore. Oh come out. And she's talking to Agnes. It's like maybe she showed her something. Maybe it's the danger of AI. Now we're getting a theory territory here so if you have any theories remember hit us up on Instagram at Omega Podcast or you can email us at Omega Particle. Podcasts Edgy Moda calm. But so my theory is maybe commodore. Jose showed something to agnes meter. See how bad a it will be in the future. I mean what's that Romney Lynn? Ladies say in the Mental Institution to to Raj. You're the destroyer worlds. So maybe there is something to that. Maybe maybe is bad and and Agnes is trying to to work with section thirty one. Oh love it. There's a section thirty one time that'd be really cool and it would really set up the section thirty one show which has been announced and has been announced were about. I think maybe like six year however I know a lot of criticism of the show has been because it's zigzags and it's kind of confusing the plots kind of all over the place. However it's a mystery show y'all like calm down it's GonNa have little tidbits here and there it's not going to be straight out star Trek. You have an adventure in. It's closed up by the end of the episode. You move on like I think. Maybe maybe they're building a bigger world. I mean the section thirty one show definitely makes me think that maybe they're building something more where it's kind of all interconnected maybe they're trying to do this. Mc thing which I would personally love and that would be cool again. You have theories. Let us know so. It's a serial mystery and we're going to see where it goes and I for one. I'm very excited. A great time to be a star trek fan in no way complaining so to wrap it up yes. This was an amazing show. I definitely loved and can't wait to see where they bring seven and again she gave car that little Symbol or tracker thing to be like. Hey call me if you need me so I definitely think we'll see her again somewhere in some way but for now I I liked how they brought her back and they kind of expanded her character and even brought in a little voyager love with each hip so moving onto the news of Star Trek..

"Yes and welcome to this first episode review of the Mega Particle. I'm very happy to be here. I'm your host Jonathan weakened and we are once again going on an excursion into podcasting excellence. So today we're going to do something a little bit different. We're in the middle of our con- series swaggie. Something just a little bit change of pace. We're going to do a episode review of card episode five started city rag now. A lot of you may be thinking. Wait a minute. Why are you doing episode five when I go back and do the first four episodes now? That's a very valid question. That is a great question. My wife actually pose ETA. Means like why are you doing five instead of one through four and the reason is is because when we created this podcast there there was already two or three episodes already out so it felt kind of to go backtrack and they're already month old. Maybe a month and a half old. So it's like okay so we're GONNA have to go back and we're going to have to talk about things that probably would have already listener reviews on people already gone over. Bunch may even watch multiple times. So we're GONNA hit the ground running and go with new episodes and we might do more episode reviews if you guys want to if you guys like it. Please send feedback to us. Her instagram name is Omega Particle. Podcast so feel free to message some on there every day posting in reviewing talking to you guys so please feel free to reach out and let me know if you WanNa do more episode reviews or if you guys are just WanNa stick to of story lines just interesting things about track and news about trek now is we get into. Picard episode five. I WANNA cover one thing. I know the very introduction episode. I mention that we wouldn't be doing a whole series episodic reviews now what I meant by that was we wouldn't be doing like deep space nine. We wouldn't be doing voyager when be doing a T and g complete series run simply because they're twenty plus years old. We've already seen him. However for the new stuff I am debating and thinking hey this might be fun and it may just be because episode five was so good and I loved it. Hey let's do some reviews and probably kind of a more relaxed fit episodes so not as much indepth deep dives is our normal episodes. Kinda just relax fit or I'll having fun so getting into the episode.

"I want to welcome you to this inaugural episode. So we're here and today we are going to cover how this podcast came to be what content we're going to cover and hold on and a quick. Look at our namesake the Omega Particle now as we begin this excursion into podcast excellence. Let's discuss the structure an dare I say the idea behind the show so for me? It's really important to do a weekly sometimes. Even biweekly if live APP pens and comes up episodes of the mega particle simply. Because there's so much going on in trek right now we have card and we have discovery and I would love to do episodic reviews of the new ones that come out. I think that would be a lot of fun. And it'd be great to listen to however what we will not do and a lot of star. Trek podcast are primarily. This we will not do. Episode Broom views an entire series. Now I'm sure many of you like me have seen nine. Voyager TNG multiple times. I've seen probably five times so for me. I really don't care what Matt from Nebraska Things About D. S. nine season four episode to. I mean personally I don't care. I've seen every episode. I know it backwards and forwards. I really don't WanNa hear somebody's review on it so for me. I think you'd be more exciting and more fun to do the newer episodes as they come out week by week. And here's the kicker this is. Uh a structure in an idea that some of my favorite podcasts to and. I WanNa copy that he's an. I'm doing all this time researching when I'm doing all this time. Investing into a podcast. I WANNA do subjects that I need and I think are cool so the first subject now. I deep dive. We are going to do his. I'm happy to announce hold onto your hats. We're doing con. Yes the immortal Khan famously known from the original series spacey and his amazing performance in Star Trek to have gone in my humble opinion. The best movie ever made. And let's not talk about into darkness. 'cause no one needs to know about that so going with Khan. I think that's a great way to start the podcast having this deep dive into a character. Because we don't know a lot about him outside of Spacey Rather Con. We really don't know who he is. How he came to power to put it perspective he ruled one fourth of the planet. Earth during the nineteen nineties eugenics war. How did a child? There was genetically altered genetically engineered. Come from that too brutal dictator. I think that's an interesting story personally. Would want to know about and I think people would wanNA know too so instead of doing a long boring episodic review of series. We've watched eight nine times. We're going to do new subject matter that I haven't learned about before. So yes con will be the first and it's GonNa be real fun interesting. It'll probably be about a two three weeks Series I'm excited about this project and interested to learn more about one of the greatest villains and all of Scifi so one of the main issues I have is on a lot of these star Trek. Podcast don't even finish. They get six episodes in eight episodes in fifteen episodes in and they don't even finish. That's why it's frustrating to me. Because I mean I was getting into deny this will be cool to hear. Maybe like podcast on it maybe. Different perspectives in everything. I found went through season. One maybe season to his kind of fell off and I don't want to run into that trap a previously said. It's kind of boring and it's not new and fresh and willing to bring you the best relevant content in the Alpha quadrant so moving on on how this podcast came to be so. I was super excited when I heard that they were bringing back. John Luc Picard. Because in this series this is the first time we've actually been able to see the future of the federation after the two thousand one two thousand movie we've really had nothing. We only have prequels. We had discovery which is Great. But prequel enterprise which is terrible but prequel so we really don't know how the federation has evolved. Who came to be an are they sticking to their One nine watching Picard with with my wife stormy and she is very supportive and loves to share and things that I love even though she has no idea anything star Trek. I mean. It's very very sweet but so we were watching. I think it was the first episode one or two and they were talking about the the Romulus Cube that they got from the board and had to go deep dive about the Cuban about the board and assimilation and then into the Romulus and into the neutral zone and all this information started coming up and I was like wow this thing I love so much. I haven't really talked to shout Alan. He's been great. He loves next generation however he's never really seen voyager or nine or enterprise or discovery. He's never really expanded his star Trek Canon. So it's really hard to talk about these things on my. Wow did you see what? How portraying the KLINGONS discovery. Or what do you think about the dominion more? And and you think it was decision for them and Blah Blah Blah Blah. And he's net. I really can have that discussion. So how sitting there my wife and I was like you know what would be cool idea be able to talk about on a weekly basis whether character deep dimes or going into specific things. I was like this would be a neat idea to do so. She's been very very supportive. And so now we invested. I'm sitting down in my basement with this makeshift sound proof booth and it's it's been a joy and I love it and the thing that really turned me on about this whole process was the content. Not about the artwork or getting on. I tunes or anything like that. The thing that really made me excited was mount making researching and producing the content. And that's how I think I've stumbled onto something I'll enjoy. I WANNA thank stormy for all her help and encouragement in this podcast creation. I really can't do it without her. Now we all came in for the science and theories behind the Omega Particle. Our namesake and this podcast now. The mega particle is a very highly unstable molecule. And it's believed to be the most powerful substance known to man. It is also believed that a few molecules can power an entire civilization. So people want this thing. People are searching for it. They're hungry for it however since it so violently in stable when it explodes. This is the kicker in destroy up space which makes warp travel impossible. So if a couple of these molecules go off with say in this fruited plane known as the Alpha quadrant sub space warp travel impossible. What would we do? So that's why starfleet gave out something called the Omega Directive and they said if anybody comes across these molecules to destroy them immediately and keep the explosion to a minimum however the only issue is. There's no real proper way to contain the molecule. So there's no way to contain it. It's very dangerous. So that's why starfleet said just knocking out don't even give somebody the opportunity to bring it to a planet or bring it somewhere. They could cause further damage which makes sense so fun fact. Some Federation cosmologists believe in theorize. The mega particles are one of the substances known to the Big Bay in Voyager Seven Nine. Just dismiss that as a creation myth. So but we'll get into that maybe later. If we ever cover seven of nine the first time we see the Omega Particle in Star Trek is in voyager season four episode the Omega Directive Named After Star Fleets call sign for this molecule so voyager comes across Kathryn. Janeway gets the flashing Omega Greek symbol on the screen. Saying you know what to do. Go to the ready room and get briefed. So captain is only information and she decides to share with bridge crew which makes sense doing a situation being in the Delta quadrant so since they now know what to do seven of nine is a Borg. See there's a great boring history with the Mega Park. We'RE NOT GONNA go deep dive into it. But they believe that. The Mega Particle is absolute perfection. And I think twenty eight board vessels were destroyed in trying to contain this molecule and seven of nine even says we had it for like two or three seconds and it was pure perfection in typical Borg language. And I think while that's really crazy to sacrifice so much just for a couple of seconds however that definitely influenced her on the bridge voyager voyager because then they try to make this containment field that can. How's it a couple of seconds and then they shoot a grab a metric torpedo at it to contain these Beaujolais and only limited damage to the sub space. So that's the last time we really see the only time we really see though mega particle in Star Trek Canon. Now there are few like little things like in voyager like Q. Junior comes hey. Let's throw out some Omega particles together and see what happens you know. And then there's a couple more deep dives into the mega particles in the book series. But I'm not going to do that in this inaugural episode we're GonNa Save the deep dives for subjects. I really really WanNa know about and you really really want to know about and if you WANNA do more information please Google all you want on the mega particle so as we wrap up today. I just WANNA go over again. We'RE GONNA try to release on a weekly basis on biweekly. Sometimes and I'll let you know before but I just want to say thank you for listening and being here. I appreciate all the support from my wife storming my friends in looking forward to expanding and conducting this excursion and to podcasts. Excellence also if you have any suggestions for topics that you want to hear or you don't WanNa send. He's whenever debate on this particular issue or person in the Star Trek Canon. Please feel free to email me Omega Particle podcast at Jimoh Dot Com again. That is a mega particle podcast. Jimoh DOT COM. "Tower science and engineering in your headphones hello welcome to new episode of omega tau my usual uninspired inspired introductory greeting yeah i recently woke up in the morning and notice that we haven't had an aviation episode for a while so this is a correction here in this sewed we're going to chat about the pearland project which is a project by a lot of volunteers in the us and sponsored by airbus that explorer waves in the stratosphere they have their own glider the pearland to they did some research with a modified digi five hundred five i think earlier and yeah we'll explore this project in this episode we have two guests an engineer laos bench and the chief pilot chimpanzee but before we do that let me briefly mention that i'm recording this introduction here on may ten day where we published episode it's two days after our first tower live recording we had a live recording with thirty five of you audience in hamburg we talked about offi with soom kitsch midcourt from the german gilmar research center and benyamin of hobby from eight w i the german polar research institute and we had a lot of fun the conversation was was very interesting we learned a lot about oceans the recording was a bit of a challenge we plugged in behind the system in the little cinema where we recall that and that didn't quite work out that greatly so phonic had to save the day but it did so we'll have a reasonably okay audio from this event.
