Author William Federer Describes 'The Treacherous World of the 16th Century'

"William Federer has written a book called the treacherous world of the 16th century and how the pilgrims escaped it which its effectively the prequel to America's freedom, William Federer, welcome to the program. Great to be with you. Hey, I mean, the treacherous world of the 16th century and how the pilgrims escaped it. Most of us know so little about the 16th century. We don't think of it as treacherous or non treacherous. What are we talking about here? What is that what is it that got you to write this book? You've written so many books on history. It's a joy to talk to you on any historical subject. But I love it when you come out with a book like this, because you really have done your homework and we get to benefit. What is it that why do you call it the prequel to America's freedom? What did they leave? Well, Europe was ruled by kings and it was being invaded by the sultan of Turkey. The Ottoman sultan Suleiman the Magnificent he was surrounding Vienna. So backdrop, the Muslims conquered all of North Africa, which used to be Christian. There were 250 Catholic diocese along North Africa. Muslims invaded Spain and held it for 700 years and they were just driven out in 1492. So just a couple of years earlier, the Muslims had controlled Egypt for 600 years. It had been founded by the Christian face Mark that wrote the gospel of Matthew Mark Luke and John. And then Siri was completely Christian for 6 centuries of angiotensin by the apostle Paul until Khalid Omar conquers it. And the Turks convert to Islam and they invaded to what is today Turkey and all 7 churches mentioned in the book of revelation are wiped out and then they finally cross the Bosporus and conquer Constantinople in 1453 and then finally they're invading Europe and surrounding Vienna Austria the year 1529. So here we have an Islamic invasion into Europe and just a couple of years earlier the reformation started 1517 with Martin Luther. And so Europe has an inside outside chaos going on and the Holy Roman Emperor is the king of Spain. Charles V now the title Holy Roman Emperor means he's sort of responsible for defending Christendom. And so here he is wanting to defend against the Islamic invasion. At the same time, he is inherited all the new world, right? Columbus discovered it for Ferdinand Isabella. And so he's taking the gold from the new world to fit out his navy to keep the Muslims from taking over the Mediterranean

Wokelash Comes Back to Bite Democrats

"The woke lash that we experienced this week. Is being interpreted by different camps in the Democrat party. The Democrat party's not really sure how to proceed. So, on one side, you say we were not, radical enough. That's Elon Omar, AOC. They say they didn't do CRT enough. David plot. We have Stephanie cutter, James carville, who came out and said that we need a woke detox. Well let me tell you, let me just kind of end the suspense for you if you will. That Democrats made a decision right as Floyd a palooza was beginning in last June. As Floyd a palooza was happening, and we had $3 billion in damages across the country, Wendy's on fire, police officers getting shot, Democrats saw a kinetic political energy that they wanted to seize for their own machiavellian, short term. Power goals. They didn't care about the cost. They made an all in bet on the racial arguments that this was going to be as significant as powerful as persuasive and as permanent. As the sudden shift on gay marriage in America. The Democrat consultants, the corporate hacks, they all said okay. The same way that Americans attitudes on gay marriage change dramatically in almost 5 years, that is going to be the case with race. That we are going to be we have to be ahead of this thing and we want to be the party of woke.

The Stupidity and Hypocrisy of Ilhan Omar Is Astounding

"We know what radical kooks like Ilhan Omar think about the police, Minneapolis, the city council after George Floyd, the Minneapolis city council voted as I recall unanimously to disband the police department. Get rid of them all together. Kumbaya, y'all, we're gonna have social workers with feathers to tickle the bad guys, I guess. We don't need cops. So now Ilhan Omar is faced with recognizing Minneapolis has a problem. It's called skyrocketing crime, murders. Violent crimes, robbery, carjackings. Well, what does a defund the police zealot like Ilhan Omar blame for the rising crime? What we must also recognize is that the reduction in policing currently in our city and the lawlessness that is happening is due to two things. One, the police have chosen to not fulfill their oath of office. And to provide the public safety or owed to the citizens they serve. All right, it's documented. But even before that, it was documented. I mean, the average police department is almost dysfunctional. Police department in our state and probably in the country. The second world is that there has to be accountability. And someone that is actually taking responsibility for what the police does and destination. And that doesn't exist. In this moment. I don't like ad hominem attacks, but there is a special kind of stupid behind that that

"Ilhan Omar is back at it again. You know she's been kind of quiet lately over all this defunding the police nonsense that she engages in, but she's back and she's blaming the increase in crime in Minnesota on the police. She thinks it's the cops fault. That people are shoplifting. She told her constituents Saturday at a town hall meeting that the rise in gun violence in Minneapolis and the increase in carjackings is due to the police they have chosen she said not to fulfill their oath of office and provide the public safety. They owe to the citizens. Now, this is rich coming from her. She goes from wanting to defund the police to blame in the police for not being responsive enough as people are getting murdered and their cars getting jacked in Minneapolis. That's the left.

"One You know in the heart of some of the most extensive immigration to the United States Over a hundred years ago if anybody ever been interviewed who wanted to come in Americans say I want to use your healthcare system or whatever it was they would not have been allowed to come into the country Because the standards have been completely eviscerated The standards are what can that contribute to this nation Are they going to be a drag or are they going to be contributor Today that question is not asked or even considered Period Immigration was always about what contributions foreigners can make to the United States and how many should come and from where should they come today that again those questions are not asked and they're not to be asked And I would challenge anybody to tell me any nation any nation that can or has survived without borders Name one just one There's not a single nation on the face of the earth that's doing this None Some of the European nations did it but now they're tightening up And they will pay a price and have paid a price But not to the extent of America we have more people coming into this country Than any country in the face the earth year after year after year after year while the American Marxist within our country are teaching propaganda about how often the country is And so you wind up with second generation individuals like joy Reid Or Omar or Talib in Omar's case first generation Who come to the country and then hate the country

He was the goat after missing two field goal attempts to previous week against the buccaneers and appoint after temp but he was able to get it done yesterday. He lives in a he lives another week. I one a many in the first ones usually the hardest now. I'm not going to get into specifics. But there were some issues with clock management down in that final drive. The cowboys had it back with three minutes and change to go a lot more time than tom brady. Had the previous week when it was less than two minutes to go. But mike mccarthy and i don't know what was going on with keller more in their communication but they wanted to get a little farther down the field than having kick fifty six yarder but zor line had with his leg. Greg leg had more than enough distance yesterday that it could have gone farther than that than that if they needed it. I just know that. "A lot of what we said in college would probably be considered pretty silly today, too. But I do fault the people that the woke skulls that got their claws in these kids. And really, these kids almost have to relive this themselves to understand the lessons. And I mean, what's the point of history? Then here? Check this out when talking about 9 11. What do you think we should avoid? I think we should like, Avoid a lot of more gruesome facts. Avoid talking about its roots in Islam because That that was like a extremist group. I think that, um the 9 11 attacks should be taught in a way that doesn't really target like more like who did it. But like More like how we can like, move forward and, like different like healing processes that we can go through to make everything like you know, good again, so you don't think it's important to know who was responsible? I do think it's important to know who is responsible. But I also think it should be noted that, like their religion is not the only thing avoiding kind of placing blame, because when you get to the more like specific Factors that were at play. You know, it kind of opens the opportunity for things like Islamophobia and ideas of American exceptionalism. Seriously. We like living in the matrix Now is that Joe Biden left this Woakes goals. Are they all the agent Smith here? These kids need to experience what we experienced personally before they realize the horror and yes, it is about a blame game. Because it's not a game. Sad news i thought i would resurface an interview that i recorded with williams just over a decade ago. Shortly after the first season of boardwalk empire we sat down outside of a cafe in brooklyn which is why the audio quality of this episode is not always. Great to discuss his roller-coaster life and career. And i was blown away by his story and his candor about it as i was by his talent over the course of our conversation. We discussed this complicated childhood and the incident on the night of his twenty fifth birthday. That left him with the large facial scar how he became a dancer in music videos. And then through that. An actor. How the rapper to pasha core and the casting director alexa fogel gave him the biggest break of his career. But how even the great success that followed did not help to radically kate his personal struggles plus much more and so without further. Do and with condolences to all who knew and loved michael. A koon and he's considered a hard liner. You absolutely he from kandahar. Which is the birthplace of the taliban and he's held various leadership roles over the years including foreign minister and deputy prime minister when the tel ban ruled afghanistan in the nineties. I've is france the little man that he had a dot so it sees a fine has more than enough for you to call it one of the outstanding seasons of television right really wha- as far as you compare it to any other show but if you compare to get season four of the wire which was a fucking masterpiece or even sees a three or even season two then you start to kind of look around and go wild you know and people have problems with serial killer stuff and all that but now if he's a five wire is just fine. It's amazing television when we re watched and Four way down in the hole. Both jamal and me came to terms with the fact or or hats realization. That people are talk. Lash shit about these five just because they need to have something to talk to you about but sees a five is great Coming back to omar. I just remember so many different scenes with mike okay. Williams's omar this show so many different parts of the character so sometimes oh bar which is fuck which omar walks into The proposition. Joe's shoprite and he knows he has dropped project. He's already taken the guy out and he's doing all of this. He's telling job what he needs to needs to do. And he gives prop joe o'clock the him the fix right and the whole time. There's a certain desert comedic energy under there like he's flexing a little bit. Omar could be a little arrogant too. He knows who he is right. He knows that he's omar little. We walked through the hood gonna know gun. He knows that people are afraid of him. He knows that he's earned. That respect surprised jodi biggest dealer on the east side along fucking with him a little bit. Then you have the scene omarosa identify brandon's body and he goes there and i i never. I've never seen an actor had never seen an actor to that point. Should i say be able to vacillate from its hits grief to insane rage just that quickly. Those same is that give you that. Burning like destructive anger just completely softened up like right as the camera is is in his face if they give you tears. Yes so give you tears. They're so vulnerable. Gives you emotions that so vulnerable that. You don't see the scar anymore like he. He completely soften his face. He could completely soften his face even though he's got that scar that tells you that he's had a tough life. The guy was just put work. You was just doing his thing. And i'll be honest with you. Had james Had had had gandolfini handled fini survived. He'd have problems acting out of tony. Tony soprano is not. Sometimes you do a job and we see you that way man. This is not the only great work that my okay williams has done. And i think that part of remember his life and his legacy is going to be people over the next couple of days and months point out and bringing attention to things that he was in outside of the wire He's just had an amazing turn on on love lovecraft country. I think he's currently nominated for for me right now for that. So no. he's doing great work. You never stopped doing great work but sometimes the moment meets the man and it creates perfect work. And that's what omar was. There was a huge outpouring from the hollywood community yesterday. Yeah it really felt like a like an a list actor had died and it made me think like these people that aren't a list actors but they kinda feel a list anyway because either they had the one great part or they just had some sorta moment that becomes eternal. And i feel like omar was like that and you know the same thing. You're seeing some of it with gandolfini as the movies coming and his sons in it. And i think one.

I know they're going to try and put my LA car, but you can't out I'm from LA, and I know how to bother south central. So you can't do it. But dang is going to be hard walked through the streets. One. You shocking to me. I thought for sure you'd be on the round. Well, I separate my elements, my heart from a mind marooning interest. My rooting interests with the Rams Mahar is with the Rams, but my mind is telling me, ma'am. Well, we stop betting against Bellichik in the patriots and one here's an amazing stat about the patriots industry for bowl their eight appearances. All of them have come down to eight points or fewer in terms of outcome. You never blow out the patriots. And the patriots will never blow you out in the Super Bowl all a or. One possession games. So you try to tell me that the Rams gonna come up in there now and change all of that. I don't see it the same Rams that had their struggles with the Kansas City Chiefs. And we saw when Belichick finally had time in a couple of weeks to see the chiefs coming would. He was able to do to them in the playoffs. The first half. Not a point scored I'm looking at this is where Bill chase going to have his wrinkle. He's going to force you to go to plan B. He's gonna take away your best player. And then he's going to look at you and say what you going to do now. And if Todd Gurley is having the same kind of issues, whether it was physical or mental in the NFC championship game and Jerry golfers time in onus stage, those bright lights can't can't turn them down. Sean McVay first time in this situation. There's a our pre-game festivities halftime as longer. There's so many adjustments to make beyond the game of football. I just think the patriots they're experienced and the way that they're playing right now they're going to be able to win this game. Sason? I'm with you. I'm when I I in his gaming you go back to those go back technically, my rookie year, February third two thousand and two sue both thirty six that was Bella checks and Brady's first Super Bowl winning against around. They want twenty two seventeen things are gonna come full circle. Now, that's what her dynasty started. This sunday. February third two thousand nineteen it's going in. I really you is that a good feeling or is that a when you look at it. If you when I look at these teams New England is better at one position. And it's a major position which is the quarterback was issued in Tom Brady. The Rams have what you need to slow. New England down pressure up the middle. We don't have to sack Tom Brady. They do not make them feel you touching hearing there..
