Carla Welcomes Dr. Jesse Easley of Schupp Chiropractic

"Today we're going to talk to Dr. Jesse Easley. Jesse is one of the practitioners at Shupp Chiropractic and Sports Injuries. So let's listen up and see why it's so important for you to visit there. Welcome to the show, Jesse. Hey, thanks, Carla. Glad to be here. It's so nice to have you here. I wanted to get some of your expertise, opinion on chiropractic and ART and all that stuff. I've been coming to the complex since 2014, and I'm pretty sure they opened in 2012. So yeah, I've been a patient for a long, long time. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Longer than I've been there. Yeah. Not by much, though. I remember when you started. But if it wasn't for you guys there, I wouldn't be able to continue to run. So I wanted to really explain to my listeners the importance, obviously, we should be doing foam rolling, but sometimes we need a little bit deeper step. And so that's why I come to you guys. And I know that your office sees a lot of the badgers. Is that correct? We see the runners, track and field, cross country. OK. And then you do see some Olympians as well, don't you? Some of the people that went to. We do. A lot of the collegiate athletes continued on to run professionally. And so there have been quite a few in the last five, six years who have gone on to run for Olympic teams, both with the United States and then quite a few Australians and a couple other Canadian heptathletes. And yeah, but yeah, a couple. It keeps things interesting. know So I I've done, I think, everything you guys offer, the chiropractic, the dry needling, the ART, the Graston, the laser therapy, kinesiotaping, and cupping. Is that everything? Mostly. We do a little bit of rehab. I think that is everything that we currently offer. In the future, we'll be adding a few things, but yeah, you've gone through a lot. I don't know if it's fortunately or unfortunately got to experience everything that we do. Yeah, I know. I'm kind of probably your biggest minor, I'm sure, when you're working on me. Close, not quite. So of these, is there one in particular that you specialize more in or that you gravitate more when you're working with a runner? Well, a couple ways to answer that. Within our clinic itself, all three of us do most of the same thing. And I would say the biggest difference between provider is our backgrounds. And so Andy ran collegiately and has the deepest background in endurance running. Phil plays rugby and does a lot of mixed martial arts, and I have done a variety. I ran track and cross country, I rock climb, we're into motor sports, all sorts of different things. And between then our office and other offices in the Dane County area, there's quite a lot of difference. Yeah, that for sure, I know. Why do you feel that it's important for an athlete to maybe get off the foam roller if that's not working and come to your office? Yeah, so a foam roller can be a useful tool. I would say that if you've been foam rolling an injury for any lengthy period of time and it hasn't seemed to change anything. If you had a nagging hip or calf or whatever it may be and you've been foam rolling for three, four weeks and nothing's changing, it probably won't change. And so you need some type of more targeted or different intervention or potentially just diagnosis. It might not be a connective tissue injury that you're dealing with. It could be a bone injury, it could be a nerve, there's a variety of things.

Olympian Jeff Galloway Shares His Inspirational Journey

"Today we have an Olympian, and he's an athlete, he's a coach. We want to give a great big welcome to Jeff Galloway. Welcome to the show, Jeff. Great to be here, Carla. I am so honored to have you on the show. So I just hit a few of the highlights of you. Can you tell us a little bit more about you and how long you've been running and when you got started? Yes, I began running in 1958. I was entering the eighth grade at a school that required boys to go out for athletics after school. I had not done much of that, partly any of it, because during my first seven years of school, my father had been in the Navy and I had gone to 13 schools during those first seven years. We were constantly bouncing around and I never got involved in sports or physical fitness or whatever. I was overweight, lazy, and forced with reality. I fell in with a group of kids in my classes who were runners, mainly because they were funny, and they dragged me out during the winter for Winter Cross Country. Well, I just absolutely hated it at first because I was exhausted and I very quickly found that within 30 minutes after a very hard exhausting workout, I felt better in my head and in my spirit than I had ever felt. And the other thing was, having gone to 13 schools in seven years of classes, I found it very difficult in a new area to meet friends. As soon as I got with the Cross Country guys, I had instant friends. I had good friends and I found that true with any running group that I've ever been a part of. And so I set as my goal to be able to keep up with my teammates and it was very, very difficult. I did not show a lot of promise. It took me until my senior year to be able to qualify to get into the state championships in Georgia, and Georgia was not a very good state competitively. I just wasn't good and I went on to a small liberal arts school, an academic school that didn't even offer scholarships. But as fate would have it, in the class behind me, a fellow entered named Ambie Burfoot and two years later when I was a senior, we were joined by Bill Rogers. All three of us were there and we didn't get scholarships. They didn't have them. We were at an academic school for the academics. Senior year, Ambie won the Boston Marathon. It's the only time an undergraduate has won the Boston Marathon before or since. And of course, we know what Bill Rogers went on to do. And it was just a wonderful coincidence that has yielded long -term friendships between the three of us. As a matter of fact, I kept in touch on a number of issues with Bill Rogers just during the last week and talked to Ambie quite often. Went on to, after graduation, to go into the Navy because I had a low draft number. That was unfortunately where I was exposed to Agent Orange, which later on became an issue, and my heart attack that occurred two years ago. But I got out of the Navy in 1970 and set as my sights the possibility of qualifying to get into the Olympic trials. I was way away from that, but I gave myself goals every six months and pretty much hit them. But I still had a good ways to go, going just right before the Olympic trials. Went to the national championships. I needed a minute and a half PR in the 10K and I ran two minutes faster and qualified to get into the Olympic trials. And then as fate would have it, on the day of the trials, it was a really hot day and I had been training in Florida for the previous two years. I knew how to pace myself in the heat and went out in last place for the first mile and then people started coming back to me. So I passed them one after another. And with about two miles left, I realized that I was in third place and then very quickly into second place and qualified for the US Olympic team. A week later, I paced one of my teammates from the Florida Track Club through the marathon because he had been disqualified. During the last stretch of the 10K, my teammate Jack Batchelor was in third place and was passed by another runner who happened to be the son of the mayor of Eugene, Oregon, where the trials were being held. And of course the crowd was cheering him on. So John Anderson passes my buddy Jack about 30 yards from the finish line, but Jack was exhausted and he was weaving and he bumped John as John went by and an official disqualified Jack. I've never seen that before or since, but it happened then. Significance was that a week later if I had been able to qualify in the marathon, I would have dropped out of the 10K, but that was no longer possible because Jack wouldn't move up if I did that. So I paced him through and was having to cheer him on and be the lookout and keep the positive mantras going like crazy during the last five miles. We entered that stadium together and the crowd was on their feet. I can still remember how my ears were just pounding and so I paced Jack right to the finish line backed off so that he could be the official qualifier. And it was just a wonderful experience to help a teammate become an Olympian.

Romania's Gheorghe Ignat Shares His Amazing Story

"To George ignaz from Romania, we're hearing his amazing story. So George, you're very young and you're sucked into this life of, you know, we've heard about Russian oligarchs. We forget about the Romanian oligarchs. These are people with a lot of money, criminals, and they pull in, especially someone like you. And so you have all the trappings of wealth and luxury, and I know that you got married around this time and you move to London. I moved to London after spending a few years in Bucharest with these people. In the same time, I was practicing wrestling. For because of a personal stupid decision, I'm not going into details becoming is coming in my new book right now is a testimony of my life called he called me son and hopefully I will have the chance to publish it with a TBN again because I published already a book with TBN last year. What is not my testimony is just part of my testimony. The second volume is this story is coming in. But because of a stupid decision, I missed going to the 2004 Olympics. And that was something that really destabilized me mentally. I could not forget myself for taking this decision and losing my place in the Olympic team. And from there, I just carry on with the life of crime. I just wanted to make more money overnight, more and more money have more and when you sucked into something like this, it never ends and is never enough

Gheorghe Ignat Reflects on His Wrestling and MMA Career

"To George ignaz or as it's pronounced in Romania, Georgia, ignat, from Romania, and we're talking George to you about, thanks for letting me call you, George. About your experience. So at age 12, you are 200 pounds gigantic, and you very quickly become a champion in the entire nation of Romania at age 14. So the coach saw how much a weight and my height and he just pulled my hand and grabbed my hand and said, kid, stay with me. I will try. I will make you a champion. I know it was great for me to hear that because I saw the pictures of all these big guys with medals around their necks. And I said, yes, I want to be the champion. I never knew what's going to happen after how much work dedication effort sweat I have to put in, but what I wanted was to be able to defend against the people the children that were bullying me, but now there was a different perspective, not only to defend what to become a champion. And two years later, one year and in months later, I was becoming the national champion at my age in kilos category. In Romania, I defended this title for 8 years in the road. I have a total ten titles of national champion for ten times 8 years in a row from the age of 14, obviously to 22. So you became a champion pretty quickly and remained a champion. What happened? Later. Many years. I was part of the national team with a 14 years of age. I was selected to be part of the national team. The 16, I was selected to be part of the Olympic team, which was a great thing at the time because I was the youngest wrestler to be selected in the Olympic team. Wrestlers 21 and above. This was for the 2000 Olympics. After the 2000 Olympics, exactly after the team come back from Sydney, they called me to join the team and my coach and the coaches, the Olympic coaches really having high hopes that George would qualify for the Athens.

Rep. Michael Waltz: Dictators Love the Olympics

"Dictators love the Olympics We all know what Hitler did after 1936 but fewer people realized that the last time the Ukraine was invaded Putin invaded the Ukraine just a few months after the 2014 Olympics in Sochi because they love it because it is a propaganda platform and everybody attending the entire world is turning a blind eye to their abuses to the authoritarianism It emboldens them And I do fear for Taiwan in the wake of the Beijing Olympics which is which is coming in February but just one other point mark The IOC the International Olympic Committee says well we don't do politics And you hear so many people left and right both parties saying well what are about the athletes and what have you Let me ask you this If the United States government had a million Muslims in concentration camps do you think those athletes would be demanding to compete Heck no They would be out protesting So why is it different than if China is doing And the other piece is the IOC had no problem getting into politics throughout the 60 70s and 80s when they boycotted South Africa over apartheid not only did they not allow an Olympics in South Africa they banned the South African Olympic team from participating anywhere for 30 years but I guess it's okay when it comes to apartheid in South Africa but for them to get involved there But they're going to turn a blind eye when it comes to these gross atrocities that are happening all over the world including inside China So and I think the answer is as you and I well know it's all about the money

"With the lakers in the bowels of the arco arena. Am walking right next to me is kareem magic. I'm from me to you from i thought. Wow this is cool. So yeah sacramento's great and wasn't there an aspiring broadcaster. Who they told you to help them out a little bit. He's a radio guy conservative talk show host. He was going to sample tv. You're know that story rush limbaugh. They said he was going great. Guns out in sacramento really started to other radio takeoff on radio. And so ted koppel said we gotta get him on the air and they said rich. We need you to teach him how to do television. Doing a can. So here would come rush. And then i'd go in with him and russia do five and a half minutes. i'll stand on his head. It was easy for him. He was great. I said now you got to cut it to a minute twenty and he said how the hell gonna do and we just kept working working work until slowed them down like common during all his republican stick so he just had a whittal his radio stick down to a tv commentary. That's exactly right and then we'd go to howley's next door and have a beer and talk about it so yeah. I knew russia went. I want to say that. I played golf with him. This one's foggy. I mean working with russia and it only happened about four or five times yet. I can take credit for long. Launched him. And i think we played golf because i went to his house once and just him and me and i think it was after a golf game i went to the fights fights and sacramento cool. They had the us russians the olympic teams. And i think it was on. Cbs sports spectacular. I had a front row seat to that wind up drinking vodka with the russian boxing team. How did these are the rich school choice. I'm here for how. I got how i got the i. I'll never know jumped in their limo when they took off so it's me and the russian boxing team go to their hotel we go. We've got an interpreter and we're throwing shots of vodka down and another friend is with me. It was just so bizarre and you had funny me talking to an interpreter. Please tell your team it was almost like drago and rocky if if we can be friends and you can be friends. We all can be friends. It was that kind of stuff. Did you ever run into russia over the years later or he was you know rush got big and when you get big. Sometimes i just don't remember stuff but he did say you know i. I think i do remember a little bit about that. Didn't remember my name. But i remember the circumstance so those are the sacramento years hanging with the russian. That sounded like an episode of the fan. Show you drink with some russian judges or the fan show had a life of its own. It was sunday nights. And you guys were on first so demanding. What any head coming later to make you guys run early and you're at the stratford in an iggy was always sort in the background. He was like the avery of game shows. He was always the one i called. He would come and thank god he did because the man makes me laugh just looking at. There's something about looking to iggy with a cigarette out of his mouth dressed up as you know the fourth of july guy or in a frog costume. That's funny and we. I did it at the at no. Not the islands. Marco casino queens queen the anna's mark then the stratford stratford in the stanford. Got in there. It wasn't a very good show. But that's okay. And i'll tell you hats off to bill lancy. I get a lot of credit for the fans show. And i deserve a lot of it but because it was your personnel. You guys had fun. You might grab a guitar you might play being all the fan band was my favorite and i'm thinking about the old carson shows late night shows like that fan ban got on just because they happen to be practicing on the day. We went there to block the show on the day. We went over the casino queen. And i said to him. Hey you is you know. You don't look like you're doing all that well out there in public. I haven't heard of you be in my band about being the fan man. You'll be on tv each week. I don't care what the hell you play. So they said sure and they were great. They couldn't could have been better and that to you. I mean to me you just enjoy the aspect of television. I think that you enjoy is having fun. Let's not scripted. Too much net. Let's have no consultants. that's over. thank it. I don't give a shit about stories. Like the rams lawsuits or who sleeping with who or or stuff like that where you have to. Who the next coach is going to be an off seasons when you're diving into that and you're speculating. Who who this guy that guy's gonna hire. I care. I still care less now. But i still care about the games watching men and women do do things that i can't. That's such high level. I really enjoyed doing them. I watch him on. Tv and then that part of the job isn't it. It is true that a lot of it is the soap opera if you look at. Espn dot com. It'll be an nba player. Calls old coach jerk or likes a tweet. That made fun of his former teammate. And it's like a read. These things like has nothing to do. A shooting percentages home runs or game winning drives. It's like there is a lot of that drama thanks to the nba for that too much of football for that. But what's the lead story today. Well it's it's nothing they're not talking about. The game was played this afternoon. And we're taping this after after milwaukee lost to atlanta They're all talking about calling the astros. Teeters again dusty baker. Say that that's what they're talking about. Now yeah i. I like the games and you. Are you like the games too. But you get more into The the story aspect. I like some of that like the lawsuit. One fascinates me when it gets real early on. I didn't care in the fact. That there i wanna see the like. I'm not visited you about him. I wanna see the. Nfl get called on the carpet for like they're impact. Yeah i wanna see him pay and to me even more than pay. I think it's kind of have to admit all right. We run roughshod over anybody and everybody we get away with it. It's who we are. We don't give a rip about you your city or any kind of want to see them exposed for who they are because they get away with it forever. I maintain the been exposed that way for a long time and nobody there was no surprise to me that the rams left and i think people should i agree on one point if if if individuals were financially hurt by the rams leaving and can get money back. I'm all for it but the kit kroenke anymore down five six years and just the ill will. That goes on with the city hating him. I'm way over that. And plus i was there when i was a kid and the rams training i think the rams should have gone back to los angeles and the rams were from la. I mean i think my thing even back then was they have the right to go based on their lease but then they did that whole song and dance pony show and kinda played with the city. Oh you gotta do this. You got to do they kind of aft- with the city in the season. Well wait a minute crooked and all this. I think that's behind closed doors and says stuff you know about you. I'm sure he's talking about ferguson. Is talking about crime and saint louis c. talking about businesses leaving all that is distasteful but in the game and all. This is the kind of stuff i don't care about. Well this one. I do some of it. I don't care it. Some of the ideas they threw out today. I'm like oh. I don't care about that. Do i hear about a lot of that stuff because your phone. You've got your phone on your ear all the time you're always up you're you're you're.

Aisha Praught Leer on Qualifying for Team Jamaica for the Tokyo Games

"The first thing that i actually want to get into and i think we've probably talked about this before. But can you explain to us the process of being on team jamaica. Because we know that you compete for jamaica. We also know that every country has a different way of picking their olympic teams in different sports but especially in track and field. So can you tell us how you earn your spot to get to run that. Fifteen hundred tokyo for team jamaica. Yes so jamaica has child system that is nearly identical to the us. Top three at the trials plus a qualifying mark or inacceptable World ranking on the descending order list gives you your spot to the olympics or whatever team might situation gets a bit unique. Because i am as of this moment. The only runner above fifteen hundred meters that has internationally competitive times and can hit national can hit international standards or be accepted on world ranking so often timelines. It's up to whether or not other people sign up for the trials It's it's an open system for jamaica. There are. i mean. There are standards to to enter the trials. But they're bit slower markedly slower than than the standards in the us And it's just an open registration system and it's always very hanway for me Whether or not occupied trials. I competed at the trials in twenty fifteen. I ran the fifteen hundred Even i went on to race. The siebel chase iran the shortest distance that i thought other people would sign up for which is the fifteen hundred. So did that in twenty fifteen there were three. Other competitors I won the race. And i ended up lapping. A woman in the race A masters runner and since two thousand fifteen. No-one has entered the fifteen hundred jamaica at and that means that. I have not competed at the trials since two thousand fifteen so i was just waiting on bated breath to see if anybody would register for the trials this year in the fifteen hundred so that i could go and compete at trials You know it's. It's a blessing in a curse to not have to compete at your trials. It allows me to take on other Competitive opportunities are not speaking for trials. But you also don't get to race with the opportunity to come national

"And i was so proud of that fourth place because i talk about this in my book. I had spine surgery the year before i could bear the law. And everybody's like there's no way this olympic team at against all odds. I made that olympic team and iran at times and that whole year and immediately people were calling me. A failure of flop actually give money back to my sponsors but like in europe or in other countries it's like they celebrate their athletes no matter what place again. They're like this their you know their olympia. And so it's just crazy. Social media that people sitting back at home are the first ones to to be able to critique and they can't even do a cartwheel let allowed to understand what's going through it is so wild to me that people feel so obligated to cents without even having any experience whatsoever and there was a i was just on a flight and there was this documentary on the flight all about olympic athletes after the olympic games. And what they go through if you were a part of the olympic committee for the usa. What would you suggest that we as a country and as an olympic committee could do to help these athletes. Well a lot of it actually is on funding. And i have a huge. This is probably the most controversial chapter i talk about in. My book is the funding for olympic athletes. Because a lot of people don't know this most of us get our insurance caught up at the olympic games which means we can't if we do need mental health or anything assistant you know like i remember. When i didn't make the olympic team within a month i had my insurance cut. So the horror-com little life all of my dreams were just crashed and i couldn't have. I didn't have any ways or means to talk to anyone about that. And so on a three time olympian. That happened after three time. The at so you know. I talk about how much the i o. The international olympic committee brings in. It's a multibillion dollar corporation and it brings in billions and they don't pay the athletes anything so the athletes have financial pressures not only upon competing pressures at the olympic games Because they know that However they do will help with sponsorships afterward because they're not getting paid by the olympics Where the top athletes make under fifteen thousand dollars fifteen thousand dollars a year us. Some of the top pull voters. I'm going to do around table on this. Coming up are unsigned with sponsorship..

"On saturday. Twenty four year old kayla. Skinner won the olympic silver medal. On vault and skinner's win was utterly unexpected. Skinner just missed earning a place in the individual apparatus competition for vault but after small stepped aside. Skinner canceled her flight back to utah. Got ourselves back to the olympic. Jim and one silver two days later. It's the kind of comeback story we all love and her win is extraordinary. Another reason just over six months ago the kayla. Skinner was diagnosed kobe. We have dressage. And i don't get why we can't have baseball. I mean it's while unfortunately and kinda sorta segues into something. I wanted to discuss a little bit. But kind of like how vanderbilt is still considered a member of the sec or out as a college football program Every but anyway even though vanderbilt is still part of the sec although they don't bring anything in there still there because it's a legacy program so in that regard anything. Equestrian is kind of one of those legacy sports. I what was aren't going anywhere kind of makes sense with vanderbilt and stuff yeah although defense to vanderbilt. "Not in a playful nigerians and in a way i kind of respect that. Let me go ahead. Let me go ahead and regular with olympic athletes. What i've noticed. Especially i don't see too much in basketball but we'll see a lot of track and field if you're unable to make the olympic team or the country of your choice. Most of the time is eight. You always go back to the country of origin to attempt to try and make the olympic team there Olympia and don't get me wrong as normal common practice. I've even when i was running track going through the junior olympics. I didn't make the junior olympics team for the united states. And so i went back to jamaica in beta israel with them. So is is is something. That's very common than it does happen. Now here's the flipside of it. Though as a fan you think to yourself land tried out with us and you went there a second option you know and i respect the fact that like and elizabeth decided you know what. We'll just come back. We'll come back next. Olympics will be back there next. Base and diana's is not going to have a spot for ever probably build should probably be ninety still played olympic team. But if not if she decides hey you know what there's not going to be. I'm not gonna be here forever as possible. Start opening up. You can't keep overlooking like she is one of the key scores leaders into wnba. Saw eventually time will come and see. Has that popcorn vince out. Even though all the kernels on cooking the same temperature in the same oil changes wearing purchase. The bob and i respect that one hundred percent and that was a is look at the wmba situation in go into the olympics. I got a quick word. Yup this is the word for good coach during this time. The air isn't the recordings on a lot of colleges are reaching out to athletes watching them play a game. If anybody i've been watching the e y b l you take a look at when you see broadway. Play money way you could. You could take a look and see. How many coaches are standard around that That basketball is college coaches. They're not just recruiting the kids and this. This is where my message is college coaches. It actually recruiting parents as well is the mindset that i want you to put to as the parent as an adult. Is there anything that you would invest it if team thousand dollars a year without knowing anything about most errands will not allow their child to go out somewhere unless they know where they're going who they're going with a gonna return so as a college they have to do their they gotta see what is athlete invested. So everybody's beautiful to your friends being recruited. Your parents are being recruited. Even the way respond to your coach. And i originally your coach. Data's being recruited to nobody wants to pay fifteen thousand dollars a year. Somebody else's problems so periods with that thought that prostate mind as a college coach who actually stayed no When axa question what is it. The one thing that instantly turned you off a recruiting the kid the reply. What if you get if i could sit there watching a game and realized who. The parents are for that child by the yelling at the raffle coaching. The kids from the sideline the instantly mark off the less. Just that simple and this is something that we all really know. Want the best for children's which overly doing but let me tell you from a cultural point of view as a coach coaches point of view. You wanna look at it like this to be honest the one hundred percent on it. You won't don't want nobody else coaching job. But you want them to listen you wanting to be focused. Wanted to be locked into the gate. You don't want somebody yelling eight on going and go there and low. Johnny goes over there when he's supposed to be at another spot or yell at age should be doing this or Causing taking away from what is supposed to be alerted in a developmental style of basketball basketball is something that needs to be learned and down under process. The culture coaches need to cultivate a culture for these children. Now what you're doing by yelling at ravs or yelling at the child is pulling them away for back. Culture and pretty much gearing towards culture of coaches colleges a sivas not beneficial for them. Think about this lamelo ball. Ninety two points in high school. He was a freshman at a time. Very young dot ninety two points. Ucla was willing to Over there massage they were like man. We want like this up. But due to the behavior of the var it will be able to resend that scholarship. And if you're not on if your child is not unless mellow level you can't act lavar ish about it and expect the succeed. Lamelo was a he had to go a different route. That i guarantee if lavar was on the scene you would not have had to do. It could've went the simple route. Like everybody else made it to where he's at now but when they completely different route to get there now. I have to tell you if your child's not as good as lamelo ball take take that example and run with it to not hurt your child's chances at better education just because you wanna prove that you can coach eddie. Allow them to be coached. And you don't go to their schooling demonstrate to come on. Come on what you don't you don't do that. So let's not do that on the basketball court and that was a word of the coach. First of all i want to go at it. Everybody for making this a very special special ball court for me because.

"Everybody back to ball court. I'm your host coach. This is the world of basketball the world of basketball. If we're talking about world of basketball let's go ahead and take a look at the world basketball team he asked. Usa has put together olympics. It to go ahead and tokyo. Now for eddie of you get out your michael jordan. Comparisons dreams he or any new kobes. Dancing lebron stands out share comparisons over team team. This is not that same team. I want to take a closer book. Because when i look at this team the way. That team is made up clearly. I could. I could see that have been made up to be not entertaining. More of a coaches like it. See a lot of coaches that way that we the way that we preferred to have team is we want to have a couple of stars on the team. Decided to keep things moving. We would have a couple of role players who understand their role players and then we want to have a couple of degrees. Yes degrees what i mean by the greatest ones. That's gonna die of on the floor if ball. I'm the one that's gonna go up there. Grab rebounds bumped bodies bump they'll get ugly with it you know. They're greedy about their game. That's what a coach normally looks for as as a coach myself. When i'm put together a team. These are the things that i looked for but i've been. I grew up during the time of watching the dream team. I grew grew up watching angola. Look at michael jordan and the rest of the team impure at utter shock. They were scared to be out there. It looked like Middle schools are a little middle school team showing up at e y b al going against the brownian them. That's how look but now now we take a closer look at the and i'm not basing it ovo. What has not happened yet because they just walked the tokyo yesterday. I'm basically moral Of overdose exhibition game. and yes. I do say that exhibition. It would just that those games did it mean as much to them you know to us. It meant the world to us because what we saw was weakness is thought a chink in the armor. You know when. When i saw him play. Nigeria did didn't will explosive. Able when i take a look at the overall stats from four games. League scorer is averaging seventeen points a game that is lillard on college board. Come on over here. Come on over here to go to la enjoy. It is beautiful but dame willard once he dropped seventeen the next four of course was kevin. Durant is one of the probably the best foreigners out there is attic. Seem point right now. Like i said that these were exhibition games. These weren't mike Games that that it was a must win for them. Or when i stopped look at i look at nigeria at jury. A lost injury eighty seven nine. Yes eighty seven ninety and is it was one of those situations where you look at. Nigeria was like okay. They were they were looking to play. They came out. They were running the ball. They spread the floor active pass that he did all of the things that you would expect to do. As a matter of fact even every coupla beca it was like they had a second level of energy that to be honest did not. Don't wanna take a look at the australia. The australian gate. We both anyway to ninety one in that game and the us just a lot slower than australia. And don't get me wrong. I know patty mills a phenomenal point guard. He's very quick he gets the ball. He's able to make the key passes to keep a defense off balance. I'm not taking anything away from australia's team. But what i don't say it who outside of let's say the first six plays the top six players on that team outside of them when you really sit back and really look at that spotting really pick it apart and take this out. How how how. How does it work. How are these considered some of the best top athletes. That is outright now. Before i i'm not an i not speaking of the jason tatum. Notice zach levine's because the jumping out rule. I'm i'm talking more of like like the darius garland's the dakota of matthias the people who clearly could have been replaced by somebody else now even in the win over argentina which was pretty much the biggest win that we had during the exhibition game with a one eight eighty win. They looked good hands down. They definitely look good but did not look like the us eighteen. That dominates everybody so that led me to believe that this is probably something. There's something different about this. He inglewood's baby. Beat eighty three to seventy six eighty three to seventy six. I find that in our league right now right now. There's probably three athletes. That i can name the top of my head at his more explosive and could have generated a lot better result. Note one. let's let's take a look. As a matter of fact i'm gonna go ahead and talk more about at checkout my article. Wfan sports dot com. We're gonna talk a little bit more about it and find out why those three that i could just clearly name that are boards blows why they on there so we'll take a deeper look into that go ahead and check that out at cwa. Sports dot com. You know it's it's it's a message you look at that goes without that you're not gonna have the understanding of what i'm saying is just that crazy. You know let me go to three happens. I'll talk about lamelo ball jommuang and trae. How come they weren't under the olympic. Just the low ball alone explosive Lamelo ball and the way that he dominated australia during the time you rain in australia dominated the entire country of australia. When he was played there. I would put him on there. Just for that season playing shut. I would have wanted to see giambra attack. The whole a showed them his athleticism in against nigeria. because it does what nigeria was. Do they were attacked. Athletic explosive felt john ranking match. That probably even do better than you know. And and trae young. Can you imagine a young in that game against a against argentina when we went one eight two eighty taken about everywhere in it would have been an amazing performance of employment up and the game will translate it. i. I definitely think it would've but go ahead and read the article. We're gonna talk a little bit more about that in the article itself and i'm gonna move on right now right now. Sign with last time. You took a coaches look. We did speak about. Wmd his annetta ogle medicaid and we spoke about that she was actually are left off dealing fifteen while she trying to make an appeal To be in the olympics after to be on that team the half the deal was rejected. My first thought was well. Usually nigeria a and her alongside elizabeth williams had that store that they were looking to possibly play for nigeria after being after their appealed to be ideal petite was rejected but both neta and elizabeth decided no no though the appeal was rejected than.

"I would say about seventy percent of those shots. I'm saying he's that good is on that love so you could add a lebron james to what he what they lillard does or you could add. Anthony davis to a daimler. Does it takes a lot of pressure off everybody else. It allows open. Is the being the key role players such as cockles. You could be a real role now. This also talks of lonzo ball. Possibly going back to lakers so obviously now. The lakers point guard hunted it looking for the best point guard or a good point. Guard deal now we. Here's what i would like to see. Maybe because i've been a fan of the ball family for a little bit a little bit of time. But here's what i wanna see. I wanna see damian lillard of course as a starting point guard for the lakers but i wanna see lonzo coming off the bench this way. It gives no team any kind of reprieve and is at an lonzo has been in. The lab is over the summer. So i think that it would be a huge benefit if we could make the trade so am asking those people upstairs. Go over the lakers organization it to work it. See what we could do. Let's see who we can offer. I'm willing to give up dennis. Schroder myself you know. Let's see what we could offer. Let's try and make that happen arrived. Now let's go ahead and adult Roses end egos myself. I rose. I wanna hand out. It's innately Congratulations thank you. His name. The hawks permanent head coach. Now when he was interim head coach he saw what he was doing. He bought the hawks further naked. Ever go before if anybody was in madison square garden. Of course you saw what trae young was doing. You know taking a bow and it does help that Nickname did have a trae young but still all in on that team playing well above their level well above your level and that comes from coach. They stayed involved. There were very young team playing on a very high level. They stayed involved His the way he does things away to he moves around. I find it to be one of the better coaches in the league. I don't understand how come it took so long to become the head coach over there. He was interim coach for pretty much most of the year and should offered contract but now he got a nice little four year deal. Congratulations to coach and trust me. I remembered you when you without a seattle chilling light up is donating along long side. Shawn kemp and gary. Thank you doing thing. The players so as a coach as a coach. i'm glad to see how that translates. I'm glad to see that you're able to take those experiences that you had been in the pacific northwest. Bring him down a ladder as you got everybody jumping around and your team looks. Excited is like a wild. The team the energy given the energy off to the people. And that's why you deserve that for years. So congratulations nate mcmillan. On your four years and guess what. Go ahead and take a short little break. We're going to be right back with a little bit more ball court and we're gonna take a coach. Look at somebody break things that are happening right now in the league. Stick with me.

"All court sir. A low boys and girls girls and boys ladies and gentlemen. My name is coach wrote. This is ball court. The world of basketball and the world of basketball has been absolutely amazing over the last little bit. Everybody's been holding onto this world. When feeling see amazon will be the first one to admit i was a little skeptical about Final a finals match up of the sons versus the box. I thought to myself okay. Here we go the sun's gonna run right through. It's it's gonna be way too easy for the but guess what yonathan sold told me and everybody else they are noticed. I have that black air force energy. So i'm coming in. And i take what is yours and what you feel is laws that are also taking. What i feel is mine so i love this way. This is going right now. It's turned out to be a match up but a ages I'm watching the game. And i'm seeing that is it gives me that. Ninety s field is a lot a lot more physical than it was on instagram. Few finals pass. But at the same time that i liked about it. Highlights the highlight. Go out and break it down so right now. We're looking at this. The series is three to yes. The box are leading the series three to imagine me having to go back on the show. Rv show after. I said that. I think the i said i thought the Assembled gonna win six as now. You gotta go back under explain to them. Why the bucks. One actually win it. Let me go ahead and his team. I we stopping take a look at game. One a game to both chris. Ball and devon booker showed out playing at extra high level but we look at the game in game three in four and even gave. Will we stop and we take a look at this game per game percival gabri man the out. They said they were at home now. They came out and played hard. It was a phenomenal game. Of course they're gonna. They went up to that one on now gave four. This is the pivotal game for them. Because chris paul being the leader. That chris paul was actually stepped up. He was laying pretty good in game. Four now close to the end. Where when it was time for decisions to be made. I'm not gonna question anybody's decision. The you know is the mba high level point guard. So i'm not questioning his decision on if he should have passed he should shot. But i definit- lincoln belt. I definitely felt just seeing the video that there was some open. There was some areas of opportunity yet. Chris paul actually let slip away that that concern me a little bit in game. Four into game. Fine devin booker. Now we all know the play of those in the last few seconds of the game last boulder secondly the game you are looking for a shot keying in on debbie book literally they had re people around him and drew holiday coming in to help so four people within vicinity and the ball remained in his ads until the jrue holiday took it out and through that amazing aliyu that everybody is playing over and over again that the whole of the walkie in going crazy so these are one of the things that you sit back watching say okay. These are the slight mistakes. That the beam Let me tell you why. I il the sun's gonna win game six now. We take a look at cam johnson. Wait shooter he's been shooting about forty seven percent from three point line during this time and eat has been playing phenomenal but monty williams great Strategists that he is going to sit down and put together a new plan of brand new plan. And this is an help you know either. Free up cam. johnson. Off up debbie booker. Now want they don't want to get definitely freed and get him going and getting started. But that's where. Chris paul is gonna have to be the catalyst chris ball i feel is going to have to revert. Yes he's gonna to have to revert back to chris. Paul that used to play for arts and not the charlotte hornets either. I'm talking to new orleans hornets. The ones that it was that was moved to the whole thing with trader. That is team. That's what that's the chris paul. Seek the person who is going to be dishing ball moving the ball around but as time breath of course our game progressive so ten years ago was a lot different than it is now is clean at a higher level than he was ten years ago but still in order for them to win he has become the facilitator that he could make the key shots force people into making bad decisions input youngest in foul trouble. Now i'm going to be. I want to say i don't think they honest as the star of that team. I think. Honest the robin right now. The batman is chris. Middleton chris middleton has been a catalyst when chris middleton actually plays his level he drops forty point. Drop thirty points there in a great position to win now. Of course the honest has been doing is forty point bang throughout the whole his whole findings. But we're gonna sit down and talk about it if the box went. Of course we not jaanus is going to get the mvp of the win but truly this is going to be something. That's going to be extremely debatable. If chris middleton should've deserved the over young now we. We don't up right now. Is this situation. If cam johnson continued shooting he shoot playing the way they explain. If the sun's win i will give it to camp. Wouldn't you something to think about. You know. I wanna go ahead and jump onto the next topic it down. This topic to me is something that you know. It touches my heart a little bit. Of course you know. It's the latest conversation right. And this is the lakers conversation. That people in portland don't wanna have. Yes daytime dame's time kroto snarky teaming up with the king and he's at it. There is some hotshot put it. There is a rumors reading that he might team up with the game. Now if anybody understands right now positional date lillard is that he's been in portland for ever and he's they've they've lamarcus. Aldridge got rid of that. They they have players added players. They tried to build around the null and everything but it seems to me. That short-lived is portland is the daimler. What minnesota was to guard that he did all he could do. It was nowhere else he could grow is nothing else that could be added around. So why waste your entire career not knowing if you could get a rate. Now i feel that dame is at that time where he's looking for a couple of teams that are interested in daimler trade. Of course you know. The new york knicks interested in daimler trade. They want anybody especially if they've been in the league over ten years why they do that. I know but the just want somebody they they want. Daimler we all want dame limited. And of course dan willard repeat a little bit of interest looking into the elect causing a lot of buzz around lee. Now let me ask you question. Can you imagine a team now. We saw the lakers last year. Without rajon rondo without having a dense motor but dennis loaded is not a rondo level break guard and we saw how the lakers were is louie b. in the first round by sides without having a dominant point guard so if we add dame willard's a person who pretty much got parking lot range what i mean by parking lot rain is step out of his car in the parking lot and start shooting probably about..

"By and large in this country. I understand their places. Out in oregon. Oddly enough. that's where the trials took place that have actually legalized some of these hard drugs. But they're basically the only place that has marijuana has been legalized in. I don't know the specific number. But i would be willing to bet. It's probably half or more of the states in the us by now yet. Were still hanging on to this notion in this idea that this is somehow a terrible offense for chakari. Richardson to test positive off of that. It just doesn't make sense. Like i said if we were talking hard drugs if we were talking cocaine heroin something like that and the olympic committee were to basically throw their hands up and say hey wait a minute. We can't have the face of our. You know olympic team. Our olympic track team testing positive for some type of hard drug. I still don't know. Because like i said i'm a firm believer in the idea of letting adults make their own decisions as long as it isn't a performance enhancer so i still don't think i would be a huge fan of it but at least you can look at that and say those are hard drugs that we're trying to very much avoid. Having as anything to do with our program our olympic team marijuana's legal in like i said probably half the united states by now marijuana is not a performance enhancer. It's not any of these things yet. She is still being punished for that. i was on a slightly different note. I was happy that despite the bogus suspension of thirty days the initial answer here was that it was supposed to be a ninety day suspension that they apparently cut down to thirty. Which is why she will be at least allowed to participate in the four by one. Hundred relay which is a good thing. I i still don't like the initial suspension at all to me. It's bogus but at least they did lower it and reduce it which is at least somewhat okay. It's i'm not gonna say you know it fixes the entire situation. It resolves the entire situation because clearly doesn't but it does at least help slightly and then the other side of this story is hats off to chakari richardson for handling this situation. Better than virtually anyone else would have she. Despite the fact that we live in an age where it seems like athletes of all sorts regardless of sport regardless of anything else. It seems like athletes. Just wanna come up with excuses for why things go bad for. Y things bad things happen to them. We just live in a time where athletes they constantly want to come up with excuses they wanna constantly avoid taking responsibility and holding themselves accountable further actions. I want to give props to chakari richardson here for actually taking this head on acknowledging that yes. She did this. She didn't try to say that she did not once so not once. Did she lie about it. Which i have to give you credit for. She acknowledged that had happened. She came out. She explained what happened why she did it. Being the loss of her biological mother and she also basically said that she was going to accept the punishment she clearly wasn't a fan of the punishment of the discipline and i don't blame her because clearly i'm not either. But she said she was going to just basically accept it work towards not making the same mistake again moving forward and that was pretty much all see she all. She said about her answer was she human being. She isn't perfect and that you know things like this happen. You have to learn from your mistakes and that's a better response to this situation. Then you would virtually ever get from really any other athlete that i know of these days so many other athletes would talk about. Oh whoa is me. Whoa is me. I just don't even know how this happened and should car. Richardson said. Hey yeah it happened. That's my fault. I'm gonna take the blame. I'm going to accept responsibility. I'm going to accept the punishment and we're gonna move forward. That's all you can ask for. So i wanna give major props to sakari richardson here for doing something that in today's world most athletes would not do not even just athletes but most human beings in today's society wouldn't do that. They're constantly looking for ways to deflect a way to to deflect blame away from them. She didn't do that props to her for that. All you can do is just tip your cap. And say hey. That's a solid move from her part. This is an absurd rule. This is an absurd disciplinary decision. This is an absurd suspension from the olympic committee for in offense for a violation that isn't performance enhancing in any way. As i don't know what else there is to say about this entire situation ear this it's just truly maddening. It makes no sense the fact that something is legal in the state that she is in is legal in more well in like i said i would assume it's gotta be right at at least probably half of the states in the us. It isn't a performance enhancer yet somehow. The olympic committee has come out and decided that we are still going to test for this. And then when you do test positive we're going to make you miss de biggest race of your life over something trivial.
