You can't put lighting atmosphere service hospitality into it to go box and those air ads with travel on hold. Perhaps outdoor dining can fill that void since travelling is limited really about transporting you somewhere that gives you a feeling and that's the next level of dining. "Friday night, Minnesotans will be required to wear masks indoors and public places that according to W, C C o Bs, Boys, Olson and last week we saw Target best buy other companies. You know, requiring Mass. We know restaurants are requiring of them Employees on DH servers, So yeah, today he will announce there is a statewide mask mandate. Olson does not believe there will be heavy fines for violators, but says the mandate is a way to make a more uniforms. Policy across the state with the goal of stopping the spread of covert in Minnesota. It should come as no surprise that the governor is telling Minnesotans to mask up the surprise. Maybe that it took this long for weeks, Governor Tim Walz has hinted at the possibility of a statewide Basque band aid as a way to keep the state open and functioning. This is the cheapest easiest thing If you want to keep businesses open school, opening it back to normal. Wearing a mask is more effective than any lock down that Ike unduly or or any of these other changes. It really makes a difference. Walls has said businesses have asked him to impose a band eight so they no longer have to police masks at the door. 20 other states currently have masked mandates.

"So that's how different it can be. That's how start. The difference could be sixty games. The dodgers got mookie Betts in a trade with the red sox. They also took on David prices. Awful contract price then said Oh since I've only got one year left. What am I take your next year and not play this year which was? About the most obvious thing ever, the dodgers are ridiculously loaded. The Yankees are ridiculously loaded, but in a short season. What if they stumble exactly interesting? Interesting thing about the dodgers is that Charlie Steiner is going to be calling their games from home and not even at the ballpark. Because they wow. He said some so even home games. He won't go to the BALLPARK. He's got home games in his house. He's going to be against from his house. They've set him up to do that. I think he's the only announcer that they're doing that. For which is quite interesting, O Abe, just because you needed it. We had nealer S- last night the giants. Five of them knelt for the couch. Baseball did not have that at all, and was basically oblivious to then one guy for the. One Guy for the as I was one guy, a as a catcher for the as who recently said he feels, he was drummed out of baseball because of that he also had a firearm domestic violence thing on his record in Arizona, which probably also didn't help I duNno. I. Dunno, so that there's five dollars yesterday. The giants the giants are becoming the least popular team in Alabama. Five Guys Neil and they had a female first base coach. The. First base last night. Yes, they did I won over, and it's always in the exhibition game last night. I forgot her name. Allison lists something Bruce. Maximum was the catcher that kneeled. Yeah. and. And the giants and she's a softball. ELISSA can N. A. K. K. E. N. yes. Yes, listen ache and she was She coached I last night. What is the first base coach do true? Grabs the pads, the elbow pads and Shin Guards when guy gets a hit collects those. No, you actually you time. The pitchers delivery delivery to help accommodate leads. Basically. You're there to remind guys of the situation, so they don't go to sleep like hey in the gap here, you're going to third. Hey, the guy unless you don't get arm. Don't get picked off and hey, you know. When you say when you say time, the pitchers moved to I. I. Mean Yeah I'm pictures. Do not read to the plate. And and to I they often have a stop watch where they'll be timing. The the the pitcher allowed to have a stop watch the first base coat. They did yeah, yeah, they did. And so he's a first base coach. Really that necessary that was that was when there was stealing allowed so first base coaches that was when that was when teams cared about stealing. The numbers nerds figured out, and they said stealing is for suckers. Just stay put nope. Nope, Nope, so that that was going on as far as the Brewers Abe. They're going to be good. They're going to be competitive. Christian, Yelich, brutal slump right now he's two for twenty, but it doesn't matter.

"Tony Hendra. We are going to do our last Andrea and on. I got the line our last one last one. How'd you end of this? We better know everything how you feeling. So far touch and go. Yeah Yeah I feel like we've had a lotta starting stops that's true we've go for a while then. I'm not around for a while. Then you're not around for awhile and we recorded a lot of these lab while ago. Yeah we bank to these starting to write season three. Then you were going on tour and all this so we're in starts and stops correct. I don't dislike you and I feel always positive feelings towards you. Okay and remember when you came back in town I was like I felt like I missed you. I know so. That's something how do you feel? I feel all right. You know I was feeling pretty good and then you know somebody made dinner plans and then canceled on. Your schedule was not terribly available. Either you were like I can only do this day in this day and I was like well. Those are the two days I can't. It was the holidays and it was crazy and then you left out for a month. Yeah that's true but I'm still GonNa put this on you. Okay well fuck off Do you WanNa start with our last. Get to know you question. Yeah sure I was going back and forth between two but I think you know for the sake of of wrapping this up boy. What's one thing you would never change about me? You were going to pick that because if I don't you're going to think I'm not GonNa make you just you. What's the whole God? Hush I knew you were gonNA. Why did I even put that on the God? Damn I can change it now. It's fine one thing I would never change about you. I would say there's just so many things to pick from. No there's like everything I'm like no I would. I've tweak that I would definitely I'd make some notes I would say your I don't WanNa use the word Ernest because I've been attacked for bragging but you have a very sweet gentle nature that is very comforting to be around and you're very kind and you're somebody who I enjoyed talking to your your easy to talk to and I feel like there's a warmth there always well and not like a snark and I mean and this and that even though we joke around so I would not I would. I would not change that about those a much nicer sweeter and through the night expected. Thank you your book. I'm not a horrible horrible person. I thought all right. What what you started it. What would you change about me? Keeps as I'm making it you over. I really maybe. That's my first note. I in the same way where I can be uncomfortable with a lot of people in like just don't I don't just like I have a hard time talking with a lot of people and when I meet someone that will immediately give me shit and and joke around with me and stuff I I really liked that it actually like puts me at ease kind of and then it makes me like being around that person and And you definitely have that and I feel like in just the the first time we met I was like all right. I like and I had A. I had a feeling because I was aware of you for a long time and but I was like. Yeah she's she's fun to be around. Believe it or not I like that. And now we KS. That was very sweet and I will say very earnest and whoever it was that mentioned that I say Ernest too much. Suck it all right. I'm just GonNa ask you a quick. What resent paying for. Ooh I'll tell you what I resent. I fucking hate paying for dry cleaning. I don't know what it is. I understand it's my choice to purchase a blouse that needs dry cleaning or gene nine genes but like address. I don't know why I feel like it's bullshit I feel like it's expensive to a level that it should like. It's just an arbitrary expensive price. That's put on dry-cleaning and it's way more than actually dry-cleaning should be. I truly resent it. I understand that it's annoying. Yeah I think a- I think my answer would be health insurance. Yeah because it's just such a fucking scam. Yeah let's be honest. It's like you have to roll the dice because you're gonNA keep doing it. Yeah for the disaster comes for you Yeah that yeah that's annoying. Yeah Yeah it really makes me mad because it it feels like you're just like people talk about like if you rent a place you're just throwing your money away but I kind of feel like some. Would you have health insurance? You just throw your money away right and you're supposed to feel good about it because you're like well if I wasn't throwing money money away then it means something's terribly wrong. Yeah so they've sort of warped you into being a mental place where you're actually happy to pay health insurance. That goes nowhere You know what I mean because you're like well thank God. I'm just throwing money out and to really dig in even more. Every time I go to a doctor the receptionist almost every time ago. Oh you have a really high copay. Cool thanks thanks. That's literally such a judgmental statement. She's literally going. Wow you must not have a great job. I mean that's basically what she said pretty much like roof. What's what's happening in your life. Then I go is the health insurance. I work for Andrew Savage and then she's like oh I'd love her what she is so quirky she says it like it is then shields. Hashtag but holes and we high five God now starting to turn on the healthcare or ask you one more thing. Have you ever been told you look like someone famous and who was it is? You're not someone who jumps out. I'm like this person. Yeah it's been awhile since I've gotten them but I have to okay aired ones. That have happened one. It's probably been twenty years but I was getting it for a while and it was before I had a beard or anything. It's kind of a weird like not. Everybody knows who this person is. You probably will Josh Charles. Oh you don't look like him at all. I don't think so either. Josh Charles slightly you don't I don't see that at all. Yes even usually people say that. And you're like I can't say I don't see that literally no I don't either. I've never understood it. Okay who is the other one? The other one even weirder. But if again if you can picture me with longer hair and no beard And this is one. That has happened a lot but but it's a weird one because it was. Hey Yeah this is great. The little boy who plays in the shining yes. It's I think it's nice. Oh My holy. Kinda freaky like to the point where I didn't see the shining until a little later in life and the first time I was watching it with friends even like I said I. I was like Thai turned to my friend. I was like the kid. Looks like me. Send me a picture of you. When you were beardless with longer hair like younger yeah you definitely signing and if you remember what's his imaginary friends name in that movie. Toni Braxton Toni. That's weird. Yeah Tony we now know each other done..

"I'm sitting here back with my very good friend Kaitlyn Olsen. Although you would not know that by the way that we speak to know you roure. Yeah okay. I love you and one of the things I love about. You is that you're always making fun of me that there's something very funny about that to me so I say you are probably all my female friends. The one who makes fun of me the most hole and the one. I make fun of the most like when I text you something you text me back the Menas. Yeah horrible stuff and it makes me laugh every funny to me. Yeah. It's very funny. Let's as mean as I am to. You is how much I like you. Also part of this podcast is talking about is bringing people on who I think have a great balance in their life of still being like having fun with Stupid Games and taking them seriously and talking about whatever it is. It's ridiculous but also you're a mom who takes it very seriously. You work really hard and you have found a balance in your life. Don't feel like a grownup. I don't think anyone does isn't that. That's very weird. I guess that's probably true but I do still feel like a kid like I sometimes. I'm like Oh my Gosh Call my dad and ask them like whatever which I was wondering because I talked about this too. Has Google affected how much we call her parents for help? Oh yes right. Yeah then it sat. I feel I get like takes away the like. I just got a call my mom and find out how long how to make a pie and instead you watch five Youtube Videos. I know poor mom. Stop googling call our parents my mom. I don't know I know she'll be like I don't know let me Google it but and I think we all feel fake and I think it's nice to realize our parents probably felt thing but is there a moment that you have in your life where you're like. Oh Polish it. I actually vote. That was very grown-up. I feel like a grown up right in this moment. Yes I think so. I ended up having kids back to back. Yes which is. I'm really happy. It happened that way but it was kind of a shock and it there was a tie many a period of time that spanned many years where I was like I have two little babies at but they're different ages so their schedules are often. I'M GONNA lose my like. It was really really challenging and I remember one time in the middle of the night. Had One kid who had just had a nightmare like every single night for six months and it was just all about getting him to sleep and that was my older sutton and the baby was really sick one night and he started crying. It wasn't like him to wake up in the night so I'm running in there to see what's going on. There's vomit everywhere in his bed so he's puked in his bed and I and he was crying and I needed him to not wake up older one so it was just all of this panic and so much puke and it really was everywhere. It looked like three grown men had puked and I was like okay. I don't know how and it was dark. I don't know how to do all of this. There's so much that needs to be addressed immediately and I remember just being like you. Just do it like I. Don't I don't know and I don't even remember how what order. I took care of things but for some reason why wasn't there wasn't sleeping in the other. I don't know what was going on. But that was the moment was like. Oh like you have to handle all of this is just your job now and that you can and you did it. That's another thing you don't have because I was so free because I do take parenting. So it's so important to me to do a good job and that was a really good moment after that was done of like. Oh You. There's so many times were you have no idea what to do. But you're GONNA do it. Yeah and all they really need is for you to do. It doesn't have to be perfect. Yes so that was kind of that was a big one for me. I always remember those that Puke and just somehow and then also because I think when you're in those beginning especially with children or anything that sort of stressful whence you realize that like you can also then go to lunch with a friend. Laugh stupid game. Yeah Yeah and you're like. Oh this part of me still do all of it. Yeah all right. I'm GonNa let you go except I'm GonNa ask you one more thing too excited about letting. Yeah was that excited. I was disappointed. No it was. It was excited with all right. What can you brag about yourself? I think it's important to be able to Iraq and I say this everybody a lot of people. I don't know something that you know that you're like I'm fucking great at this. Like re funny not like whatever just like your like. I'm good at this. I know I'm good at this and I'm not afraid to say this is going to be so boring obvious but I think that I am a good actor. I think I think that I see this with you too. We are able to get to a place where we're just completely relaxed and screwing around and having fun and so I think that I'm really good at bringing more than what's on the page. Maybe if I didn't write it yes And kind of enhancing your character that is in some little details making your own. Yeah screwing around the dialogue doing a little bit of Improv. Just I'm GonNa Guess That's how you've gotten off. Yeah See McMahon. Yeah I am. I don't think I've ever said this publicly but I if anyone's an actor who's listening this I think this is really really important. 'cause I figured this out way too. Late Edition game. You don't need to try and mold be what it specifically describes on the pages that character you need to take those sides and make them your own in some way. I'm not saying throw. Please don't go start. Improvising in an audition. If you're not a good improviser don't do that. Or if it's not a person who likes Improv. Or show that uses imprint right. What I'm saying but you can use a little bit here and there s if you need to switch up the like turn a couple words around or or or making your own like. Don't try and go and be what you read on the page. Turn what you see on the page into something that organically works for you and go in and just show them your best version of that because they can always change it like. I couldn't agree more with. That's the only way you're going to have a good audition. It's the only especially in comedy. All right well. What would you like to work on that about yourself? Oh nothing no just probably just about everything else. I could sit here and everything else I I know I m trying always to work on letting go of the need to be perfect in every single aspect of my life. That's what I'm trying hard and I'm so aware of it that I'm like really working on that with my kids to. I'm seeing it with them and I'm like it breaks my heart but yet just being nicer to myself and not having to be perfect and that's hard that's a hard one all right. I'll take it thanks I'M I. I don't think you're perfect but so I don't think you need to work too hard on it as your friend. So sweet and you know what and very good and crop top. I disagree agree to disagree by the way what we didn't tell you as I'm sitting here in eight full crop top. Really gotTA take a picture. Alright anywhere anything you want to plug. I'm doing a brand new project for a new platform called qube that hasn't launched yet But I'm very excited about that. And you thought that with Forte. You answer a couple of questions and they figure out what your size is based on shape finish use other bras you liked in the past and it's really great and you have sixty days to wear it wash it. Try it out. If you don't love it you throw it in an envelope and return it and they will wash and donate it to a woman in need which is absolutely incredible. Donated over fifteen million dollars in bras already. And the fact is we can't go out and try on bras right now. Anyway and the really comfortable they. They've got the unlikes no slip straps and they don't have the tag the tag labels so there's no scratching back there. I really been really happy with my experience on third. Love Third.

I mean they are very similar. We will take a photo. We'll post it so you can say my good friend. Kaitlyn Olson's coming in this morning and I'm very excited. She is an old friend of mine not I mean. She's just an old old woman that's more fun if I can say that in front of her behind her back feels not great teller with one hundred percent one hundred percent tell her. I've known her since we were in growlings a million years ago. I've known her for like I don't know eighteen. Nineteen years She's one of the funniest people I've ever met And also I think a perfect example of somebody who pushes everything to the edge. But when she's living her life is like a great mom you know take. She's not like a wild crazy prison. She has a great balance of being a grownup. Who's also fucking cool. That sounds like the perfect guest for this show. I don't love the face. What are we get to heard? Tony will you pull yourself together when Kaelin gets here? This is what we can expect. We'll see let's sit down with my very very very old old old horrible craggy friend Kaitlyn.

Texting Videos To Clients

"Hey there it's Eric. J Olson as I record this on March twenty third. We are in week number two of the corona virus pandemic. We are in lockdown and I am recording from a house. One of the things that I did early on and by early I mean like March thirteenth. Which was Friday? That was actually no. It was the twelfth right before our state of digital marketing address. I was in the Conference Room Jake and said Hey jake record a video of me please. And I turned to him and I recorded a two minute video which we then had to scramble to get out to clients. We didn't have a way of bulk. Messaging our clients so caccia was tasked with putting together all of our clients email addresses and emailing them. And she did it through hub spot which we use for sales. It's a convenient way of sending a bulk email message. And then knowing who's open and things like click through rates while by the next day Friday the thirteenth. She reported to me about twenty four hours later that only fifty percent of the recipients had received the email or ashish say opened the email and only ten percent click through and I was. I was super frustrated. Not with her just the fact that e mail sometimes sucks as far as delivery mechanism it can go into various tabs in G. Mail like the Promotion Tab it could go into the spam folder outlook. You don't know where the emails GonNa go. Email is very easy to send but it's very difficult to receive. Sometimes they can get flagged as spam all over the place throughout the Internet through the ISP by the client by the company's infrastructure. Who knows but he can get caught up and I a way to make sure that this message got through to our clients. One of the piece of data that we have our clients is a cell phone numbers for the point of contact. We have a sheet. That has all our clients information in there but the cell phone was only listed for about half of our clients. So I scrambled along with Kevin Glenn to get the other half filled in and all of a sudden we had cell phone numbers for ninety percent of our clients. I went into call loop dot com. Which is the system that we use for text messaging. I created a group called clients and uploaded those cell phone numbers into that group. I then sent a text message individually to each of our clients thus basically. Hey It's Eric. See over a digital. Have Short message for you. And I linked to an unlisted youtube video. The one that Jay took me the other day in the conference room and I sent that out. I was very pleased when I spoke with a client early the next week and she was referencing. Some of the ideas that I had put into the video. She had clearly watched it a few days later. I had another message to send out to the clients and this is more advice on how they can use digital marketing and social media to improve their business right now and it's not stuff like wash your hands but very actionable items that either they can take or we could take on their behalf and so I watch a second video out of the roughly seventy clients that we have only two on subscribed. I haven't dog to figure out who the two are. Frankly don't really care but the message got through and that's the key you know when you need to get a message out when you want to get a message out. I believe that it's your responsibility. As the person communicating to ensure that the message is received now they may not necessarily listen to it. They may not take your advice. But you have to ensure that that message gets to your intended recipient. No matter what you have to do email phone call text message spokesman those I don't care just get it there. Make sure they receive it. It's not enough just to send an email and then a couple of days later. Say I don't know what happened. I sent the email which I've heard. My entire career appeared the phone and call people send attacks message to do whatever we gotta do but make sure the communication is

Not wearing masks to protect against coronavirus is a ‘big mistake,’ top Chinese scientist says

"A Chinese health official is warning that US and European nations are not taking an important precaution to slow the spread of cove in nineteen A. B. C.'s Stephen Olson saami explains the head of the Chinese center for disease control tell science magazine that the big mistake in the U. S. and Europe is that people aren't wearing masks many people have a symptomatic or pre symptomatic infections if they are wearing face masks that can prevent droplets that carry the virus from escaping and infecting others they believe that even masks made of simple fabrics are helpful all right what about these masks ABC's chief medical correspondent Dr Jennifer Ashton gives us some more details on how masks might help there's a largely to purposes for wearing masks one is to keep respiratory viral pathogens out and the other one is to keep them in surgical masks are designed to be put on sick people to keep viral pathogens in rather than escaping into the environment and infecting other people namely other patients or healthcare workers the N. ninety five respirators remember that's designed to keep viral particles out and those are for health care workers there has been a shortage of these critical masks and other medical supplies here in Massachusetts the World Health Organization for now is continuing to say that people should wear the mask unless they are sick or caring for someone who

Trump vows "big" crisis package

"But then we have news that the trump administration is moving towards a major step at the fiscal stimulus plan including possibly checks of up to a thousand dollars for Americans in Europe and the buckle not rooting out joint European debt issuance the U. K. Charles announced a massive rescue package yesterday of lines goals of businesses across asset team editor John Olson a joins us this morning really good to speak to that what difference all these fiscal announcements making now in the markets well the markets have definitely wanted the physical aspects so it's probably not hurting things but it's also not causing a lot of cheer either part of it is that we need to see the actual results right it's one thing to talk about the package it's another thing for it actually to happen it's another thing to see how it plays out exactly where the money goes do consumers go out and spend that money once they've gotten it so it's it there's still a lot to be seen and there's been so much volatility in the markets over all that it's just a really uncertain period right now and things are still bouncing around even say oil and even gold is still up and down yeah I mean go fifteen twenty eight point five five at the moment but it's been a low over the place is there he said the most is the way the market wanted to hear but doesn't look out for the the beginning get to a floor at some point for all this is there any sign of a well I suppose there always has to be a floor at some point right but it there is there are some discussions about the bottoming process but very few people are saying I think this is the bottom they're saying we think we're starting to see it a lot of people are talking about two thousand or nineteen hundred on the S. and P. five hundred for instance which is right now around twenty four hundred so there could be quite a ways to go or we could see things start to pick up a little bit from here and of course sometimes you'll see a bit of a rally people start to come in and then you see another downward trend beyond that volatility is still really high when we saw volatility this high in the global financial crisis stock still went down a ways in the next few months after that so it's still quite a lot of uncertainty and probably bouncing around may go even lower

"I'm doing alright how are you. I'm doing all right. I'm very hot. How's it. How's the weather in Los Angeles. It's it's fair. It's really mellow. It's it's it's nice to daily surprise. That's a surprise who would have thought. Are you drinking anything. I'm drinking a ice tea to kind of cool down or you have anything. Oh Yeah I've got a black. McDonald's ICED coffee. Oh milk no sugar. No no no just straight just straight black McDonald's coffee. I love that McDonald's says what is it like two dollars any size who pick small truly but you know that's also also people pick small they. That's that's not always true. They really The iced coffee is not always that price. It's there's a window that Neil yeah have you ever gone and expected a dollar and they're like three ninety five yep. I've tried it a few times but they also are always shocked by a black coffee. They think it's vile. We we have a quiet understanding my McDonald's they they know me but they don't know me. They're not obsessed with you but they know you uh-huh uh-huh but before we get into your main obsession which is the competition series that came out of honestly nowhere like the pits of hell the Heights of Heaven and I'm not exactly sure but before we get into that I want to talk about your secondary obsessions. What else is on Netflix that you've been particularly enamored with lately. Oh man it would have been falling in love with even if it's something you've seen a million times. That's honestly I mean. Mark of an obsession is true. I mean I love. I love glow. I I love glose so much. I've been powering through that. I've never watched glow. Can you pitch pitch glow to me. What's the appeal the appeal it's yeah. Can I say that ended epochs podcasts. I don't get it convince me to watch glow. Glow glow is wonderful. The cast is fantastic and I didn't know anything about about the gorgeous ladies of wrestling before that that was all that was all new to me like I think it was for most and allison. Brie is fantastic betty. Gilpin is fantastic Marc Maron. Is I mean they. The role is built for him and the rest of the women. The supporting are so good. It's Manas that's fantastic and it's a very soothing looking show for being the eighties. It's not as high octane a stranger things or anything else like that. It's a very soothing looking show. I Love Love Love. It's not like aggressively eighties. it's just like not at all incidentally eighties incidentally eighties correct so spencer. I was looking at that I for some reason I thought Hook was on Netflix and I was just completely mistaken. The the nineteen ninety-one Stephen Spielberg masterpiece hook. It's not on Netflix so when I searched on it said explore titles related to Hook and I got all these movies and I was like wow this is a spencer category titles related needed to hook the Casper. Oh uh-huh we do you like Harry and the Hendersons feel like horse I do of course any time I have to reject an animal. It feels like I'm telling Harry to go away. I'm going to put it out. John Live Cow. Who says that your guy. He's so sad. He doesn't want him to go away. He loves hairy uh-huh Spencer I. I know that the point of this has blown away but I just saw how did I know this was here when you search for Hook. You don't get hooked you get. Mary poppins returns. It's on a Netflix. How many times have you watched it. It's all that all the time if you haven't seen Roger Bobby am I allowed to customers podcast yes cost. That's as much as you want bobby. What the fuck man you have to see. Mary poppins returns. It's it's so good. It's so good I would even and say it. It ties might be better than the original. I like it more than the originally pop and I I really I would say the ghost of Julie Andrews. Here's is about to come down and slap you but she's still alive. She's still alive. It's controversial but I do feel that way. I do not kidding around. You're serious. You're extremely genuine and your love for Mary. poppins returns. It's it is so good and I mean they follow the formula of the first movie to to almost a T. So that's why why fix what's not broken I am. I really liked the this is this is a great introduction to the sort of new format with this with the series that we're going to talk about one person's very earnest obsession as opposed to things that are a little more ubiquitous or zero zero in on things that individuals love and they feel sort of like am. I one of the only people who loves this thing. I feel like this is sort of a strange thing my obsession. I tried to convince other people to watch it and they're not quite sold on it. The Way I am and yours when when I told you about this you're like blown away away and it makes it makes a lot of sense to me. I think because the show kind of took me a while to get into I started watching it because everyone was suddenly watching it. I was seeing seeing people tweet about it and at first I was like Oh blown away. The Jeff Bridges movie about firemen get added. Is there some weird sort of cultural resurgence in sort of the same way like everyone's watching. You know friends now right yeah kids. I suddenly watching blown away. Is there some sort of thing that I missed. was there tick tock of blown away and like everyone's like. Yes Jeff Bridges Daddy fires but no it's last blink competition. Tell me how you found out about blown away. I found out about blown away because our mutual friend Michelle Collins was texting me incessantly in the middle of the night just like a play by play of it and she was like I'm not GonNa continue because you just you have to watch this the second you wake up so I did and I finished it in one sitting. It was like a fever dream. It was it was it was perfect. It was perfect morning. Explain the concept of blown away to our listeners who have no idea what we're talking about. Blown away is a reality competition of a bunch of glass blowers who have to make less. That's it there's nothing else they can do but but make glass it feels that way. I like that they're all sort of in different stages of their career and that a lot of them or at least a small handful of them once blue glass and then they were like I've given up glassblowing. I've moved on grew up and they were like I miss glassblowing. I need to get back to glassblowing is blowing yeah a net she. I loved that she was. I'm back in the game. I I lived in Seattle for a period and my apartment was above a glassblowing studio so this was something that I hadn't gotten to see in six years. It really fascinated by your love. I love it looks into or yeah yeah. I could never do it myself so hot. I really admire the process. It's very sexy it is. I mean the whole the thing it's like they've got the you've got the the heat so you've got this like these sweaty bodies in this room putting things in fire there. It's it's dangerous dangerous right so there's like it's sexy and that it's like kind of dangerous and like a scary thing to do but also it's hot literally and figuratively and there's a thing called the glory. Lori Hall blowing things yeah. It's an equalizing as in terms of how exhausting it looks. Everyone looks so overwrought no matter who the from them. I mean from the moment they get going. It's like it's sort of like if it reminds me of nailed it in like nailed it yes Nicole by turned up the temperature like one hundred and fifty in the room because there are kind of all so flailing but in nailed it they're flailing because they have no idea what they're doing but in blown away they're flailing because they are like two focused on what they're doing. Their got their eyes on the prize so you've got these ten glass blowers of varying levels of experience. You've got kind of your young up and coming twenty somethings and doing it prolonged then you have your kind of mildly established people in their thirties and then you've got your your veterans your fortysomethings fifty somethings who have all the experience and they do things they'd do things like so much more quickly and with more confidence and their names are and then they're hosted hosted by hi. This guy named Nick. Honestly I never figured out what Nick does I was like. He looks like he nick reminded me of. What's his name Adam Scott Adam Scott Hilarion Larry elder brother. She's Kurt and she dresses really okay well right. He's like an intimidating dresser especially when she's walking into a room filled with sweaty bodies and clothes that are like stinky and terrible well. She's like this elegant graceful figure sort of hovering over everyone Catholic Tim Gunn but scary extremely and she's got a she's got a You know an essence of Miss Frizzle to her. She always were something that kind of matches. Whatever the theme is like. I loved her plant. Motif that she had on that one episode. She and I love that she lets personal taste. Her personal personal taste like really that's how she judges the not necessarily based skillset but she's like. I just just don't particularly like this where she'll be like. I don't get it. You're more. She'll read one of their descriptions. She'll be like no. I don't see that at all and it might be left them. That's perfectly crafted thinnest clearest piece of glass so delicate and she's like not for me. cool take back sometimes the sometimes the other guest judges kind of fight back at that and they'll be surprised that she's being so. I don't know unreasonable in a way should really standpoint. Lebron's judge a judge yeah. How's your favorite contestant because there's so many I mean I I. I loved Alexander Rosenberg. You're like Oh. He's not really that good yet and he's twenty two. This is one of those things that I feel like. It's not a sort of a like Mozart like you can't you can't be a kid and be good at this like it really does require years and years and years of experience experience to get good at yeah that's clear. "Betty made within couvert law enforcement, Clifford, Robert Olson. Junior was born on January first, nineteen, forty, two Clifford Olson, senior and Leona Olsen at Saint Pauls hospital. In Vancouver British Columbia Canada. His life started as a celebration. The hospital gave his parents baby book and a gift from a local drugstore in honor of. The adorable New Year's baby. He was also his parents first born child to Leona and Clifford senior Clifford junior was a special little boy when the Ulsan celebrated in Vancouver. The world was embroiled in chaotic and brutal, armed conflict World War Two raged across the Atlantic and candidates troops fought alongside British American and French armies against the Nazi scourge, Clifford Olson. Senior was a serviceman who enlisted in the Canadian military there, no records to show that he fought in the conflict in Europe, but he did spend long periods of time away from home assisting the war effort. While Clifford senior was away, Leona raised Clifford, junior alone. Leona worked as a housekeeper and she would bring Clifford junior with her to work, giving him as much attention as possible. Clifford junior was the apple of her eye and the center of her world Leona coddled Clifford junior, giving him everything he wanted. He learned quickly that she was his to control. And his earliest years where a primer Corson manipulation Vanessa's going to take over on the psychology here. And throughout the episode, please note the nessa is not a licensed psychologist or psychiatrist, but she's done a lot of research for the show. Thanks, Greg, Clifford Olson, junior had plenty of narcissistic tendencies according to the diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders. Fifth edition or DSM five for short people with narcissistic personality disorder, have several key symptoms, narcissists, lack empathy, and only care about other people's feelings. In so far as other people's feelings relate to themselves, their relationships are superficial and self interested. They have an inflated sense of self worth and constantly seek attention to validate that self worth. It's possible bad for Clifford Olson. Junior, his ego became inflated at a young age. He was the most important thing to his parents. So he might naturally think that he was the most important thing in the world. It's tempting to think that this can explain Clifford juniors later violence, but the truth is much more frightening, Clifford Olson junior is an exception to the serial killer. Rule. Most serial killers have traumatic or stressful childhoods. Their parents were abusive or neglectful the often suffered from sexual abuse witnessed violence or suffered from some other horrific incident. These incidents often condition these killers to dehumanize others from young age. For most killers, their psychological problems are caused by problematic childhoods. That's not the case for Clifford Olson, junior, Clifford Olson junior claim to have suffered from childhood abuse, but he was a compulsive liar who changed stories on multiple occasions. Most sources indicate that Clifford Olson junior never suffered from childhood abuse, physical, sexual, psychological, or otherwise. His parents did not suffer from psychological disorders, nor are they alcoholics or drug users. The even had three more children, none of whom displayed the same misbehaviors as Clifford Olson, junior while his mother coddled Clifford Olson junior in his infancy. The arrival it is other siblings began to demand a great deal of Leona attention. His mother could no longer give Clifford everything he ever wanted. And the coddling came to an end. This early coddling could hardly explain his later murderous behavior after all, many firstborn. Children are coddled by their parents, but most don't turn out to be serial killers. We like to think we can understand what causes someone to become a serial killer. If we can understand the circumstances that produce these abhorrent individuals, we can understand how to avoid making more of them or at least learn to spot them before they start killing. Unfortunately, the complexity of the human psyche means psychological malfunctions, rarely have a single cause in the case of Clifford Olson, junior, we can't find any external cause for his behaviour. The idea that the average parent can have a child and that child could grow up to be a serial killer due to no fault of the parent. That is a truly. Terrifying idea in nineteen Forty-five World War. Two finally ended Clifford Olson. Junior was five years old and his father moved their family to Richmond, British Columbia, a suburb of Vancouver. They moved into a neighborhood that was built by the Canadian government to help house. It's veterans Clifford Olson, senior got a job as a milkman and he drove one of the last horsedrawn wagons in the area..
