The Crown season 4
"I am now joined by. Amanda dobbins our resident expert. Amanda thanks for joining me again. My pleasure your pleasure to watch these middle. Three episodes of the crown season four absolutely crushing. It this stuff. Is this really good. We're talking today about favorites fagin and taryn knowle's ands basically. It's the episode with all the kids. The episode with the guy breaks into the palace and the episode. Where charles and diana go to australia. And i have to say that i think four. I've seen a few people dating for here and there for some reason. Maybe because it's too too well kind of put too much of a bow on it. I think it's fucking extraordinary. Like if i i thought that favorites was a really like startling achievement in dramatic writing and just in terms of the amount of stuff that they burn through in the way that they bring all these characters. What did you. What did you think of that episode. I agree with you. And i have not seen any criticisms because i don't really consume social media anymore but anyone who thinks it's too neat or they put a bow on it. I guess find another show This is peter. Marin is a playwright. There is a lot of construction and intentional cinematic and exposition all dialogue and set pieces built into this. It's not. it's not that it's obvious but all of it is very crafted. So i agree with you that i thought episode four was tremendous in terms of the amount of like and setup that they managed to convey to you in a very effective way. Because we don't really know anything about two of the four children barely met any of them and has been kind of a side character and so there are four children who get their own scenes and moments and so you have to develop those characters. You have to develop the queen's relationship to all of them. You also have the margaret thatcher thematic connection of the of the children. And you're drying out a little bit about margaret thatcher's relationship to women as well which is an important larger thematic episode. And also you've got the falklands war. I mean it's and they do it definitely and i thought about something you say a lot. Which is the crown doesn't like doesn't waste a moment. They just pick the scenes they pick the lines. And you know everything you need to know. That is so hard and they nail it. I mean they do a lot of stuff that i think other shows would probably shy away from because it would feel too like they were showing you too many of their cards so i kept thinking about the scene between elizabeth and an you know they go riding out. This is the thing that they sort of both share this love of horses even though and is obviously phillips favorite. And that's like in the way that that gets conveyed in the beginning and their conversations heartbreaking you know like their conversation is legitimately breaking and i think you could look at what an says. She's like. I used to enjoy being the difficult on and scaring people and now i don't feel like have any control over that anymore and you could be like well like you might go your entire life and never have that level of self awareness. You know you may have to go through thirty years of therapy to find that out about yourself and this young woman just like sort of pops out off when confronted by her mother on iran day. But it's beautiful writing. It's just it's just like amazing writing. And i thought the performances specifically in that scene mostly because the three sons come off as absolute troll lords in this episode mean. Yeah but the scene in particular was was quite lovely thought. Listen i think that there are levels of emotional breakthrough and clarity in this. Show that it's never happened in real life and certainly have never happened in the uk and to anyone who is absolutely senior no country just a lot of time talking about salads in england too early because they get a lot of salad industry and how to their salads or just blue cheese and bacon their emotional relationships are blue cheese and bacon. Do they are not. They're not doing the the smart greens. Now i mean it's it's a tv show and we are projecting emotions and trying to figure out how these people felt about the facts that we know are true. That's what we think is so interesting about episode for which made me reflect a little bit of on the queen character in this season and an interesting thing is happening. We talked a little bit about this on the last episode. Where libya coleman is kind of popping out a little bit and coleman is one of the great actresses of time and also i find her personally hilarious so i think that that's great but i see moments where it nothing is on the page and it's just olivia colman giving it that sense of humor giving it that timing Or maybe even the character is being a little bit written to her strengths and that is also a little bit because the queen is not. i mean. she's not a side character but the way they're telling the story is about all of the other people and events who are kind of crowding into that character's life and how she's bouncing all of it but episode four is just it's about the queen and all of their writing it's character development that is in line with the past three seasons that we've seen and it's pretty extraordinary and i think libya coleman also does like a great job with the actual written script and the character and the reacting to like the horror show of her children. I mean they all are. Do you have a favorite of the four. Who is your favorite on the shore in real life. No on the show. I don't really i. It's shifted i think blassie's and it would have been charles and yeah and this season it's probably end. Although let me get to the end of it. I mean it's obviously not editor andrew. So yeah. I wanted to just quickly before we get into edward andrew charles. A little bit ask you you start this episode up. Did you expect the wedding. No if only because number one. I read some spoilers about how they don't show the wedding but i do also think in their when charles and diana yes yes. The most watched royal wedding. I think of all time. I i don't. I should have gotten this statistics. It was close to a billion people. Watch it. I mean that was everywhere and people taped it and watched it over and over again rate including me who. Dvr it when bbc america riera it before the wedding harry and meghan and it was part of their like twelve hour block of programming. I watched all of it i. It's pretty boring. They didn't really have their production values in one thousand nine hundred one that we expect from royal wedding now anyway but no. There was sort of finality to episode three and there was something intentional about the way they showed their rehearsal and kind of the real behind the scenes emotions where i was like. Okay this is an interesting choice and like this is what we're going to get and also i've seen it before was do because like they wouldn't be a lot of opportunity for people to be talking during that so unless there would be some fagin like wrinkle history that they wanted to explore not really sure what they would do their right. I mean it happened at such a scale that even it would defy the crown's siegi budget. I will say. I was surprised that diana disappeared for new episodes. We'll get episode five. But she is very briefly shown and she is heavily pregnant when she shown episode four. And she just won't come out of the room and in one way. That's really all you need to know. About how their marriage is going and how everything is you know how everything is is shaken out but on the other hand i was like uh this is a choice. Diana pretty popular. Yeah yeah no. I thought that the dow is interesting. Also the suggestion. That charles is starting to become under the influence of these gurus and like self help nutritionist. Which i didn't. I didn't know that about him. Oh yeah the the lawrence vander past reference. I only know about this from the tina brown book. But apparently he brought those books on their honeymoon and then tried to get diana who was twenty at the time of their wedding to read the books and discuss them over for dinner on their honeymoon. So that's how that went

2020 Golden Globes Predictions
"I'm Shawn Fantasy and this is the big picture of conversation show about predicting the results of an award show do not respect. That's right Amanda. The Golden Globes are nearly here. They are the conclusion of one of the more fun weekends of the year. We'll have NFL wild card weekend starting and then Dispatch the sped award. Show Fun for you nightmare for me. I will go straight from the eagles which my husband is too invested in into ricky surveys haltingly. Golden gloves so prepare for Sunday night attitude from Amanda yes I will be preparing for a weird attitude likely from ricky traverse one of the more more unusual figures to host an award show in the last ten or twenty years. He's back hosting Golden Globes. Were going to be predicting the results of some of these races which are chosen by ninety anyone mysterious foreign journalists Jervis was selected by these people to host the show in part because he has been the host of some successful editions of the Golden Globes. Last year was a different kind of Golden Globes humira call was hosted by Andy Sandberg and Sandra did not recall that. Until you said just now I think that I thought that that it was going to signal a new way forward for the Golden Globes. I don't know not necessarily a more progressive way forward but just the different kind of approach to hosting Alaska races back. What's your take on these days? Why are we still doing this? That every that's kind of where I am. I just like no thanks. I've moved on. I think we as a TV and awards. Washing washing community have moved on feels stale and it and he's feels like just kinda trying to hold onto whatever influence he had like ten years ago he still has a huge following and I think he's still a very successful comedian per se but he feels very fake controversial as a professional. Now where sort of everything he does is more of a provocation than a joke. which is not really where you WANNA be now famously on this award show? He's quite sharp elbowed he takes shots at celebrities as opposed to patting them on the back as many Golden Globes hosts have in the past I guess this is fine. I you know you think like what happens. When crosses the line and we have an outrage moment how will we handle that in this otherwise very convivial award show? I don't think people will care either will be the requisite op-eds or takes or whatever and perhaps that will distract from whatever terrible awards. The Hollywood foreign press gives out You know and maybe we'll put all of our anger into that and then we can just have an award. It's show maybe that's maybe it's a nice way of of dividing the components. Do you think we're queudrue vase was up for the joker and joker think he was auditioning against Joaquin now down He. He was auditioning for the Penguin. You know in the new one because everyone wanted to be the penguin You know this is a movie podcast broadcast but there are also a bunch of TV awards at the Golden Globes I. I haven't really paid much attention to the TV awards nor will be really prognosticating but yovany any sense of what's going. Go down here. TV was what were the big shows. Twenty nine thousand nine six session and fleabag will though shows win awards. What succession might succession session is nominated in drama along with big little lies the crown killing eve and wait for it then learn? They say that I watched the last year in the morning. Show who do not believe on the critics who came late to it and we're like wow the morning show is really become an investigation of me. Too Culture friends a dog wrote the last so it's more nutshell but anyway I still watched all of it. You could see it winning but you could also ASSOC- You know the crown seems like a very obvious when you can also see succession winning because the Golden Globes likes especially in the TV area to To get out ahead of the emmys succession has not yet won the major Emmy Award. This would be an announcement of succession as sort of the next great television. Show on Prestige Steve Cable. Whether that's still the case given the way that Netflix Amazon and all the other streamers have kind of barreled through the doors now is it will be interesting to see You know this. This is really weird. Best TV drama actress Jennifer Aniston. Olivia Colman Jody comber Nicole. Kidman Reese Witherspoon. Two nominations for the morning show. There are more billy crap. He's nominated for the morning show. If Billy Krupp wins for the morning show I take back half of everything I've said sad about the Hollywood Foreign Press Association is very strange. Maybe that's enough on TV awards. What else do we really want to make any sense things for succession fleabag everything else? I don't really care about. Let's let's start with something movie wise that I think is very relevant to this show. Do you think that this award show in. General is impactful on the the Oscar narrative in general or this year. Well let's start with in general. Yes I do because it just seizes attention and for a certain amount of time at a crucial moment and the awards are as much about attention economy as they are anything else. There are a lot of movies to see. There are a lot of voters who haven't quite quite caught up and I'm like oh I guess I should check this out and and sometimes I think it's reactive. Something wins and people are like I don't know about that. I'm GonNa make sure that I invest the other way but there isn't a fanfare around it. Everyone shows up for these. And it's televised and I just think the timing especially you can't help even if you're like this doesn't matter. I'm an ignoring it. We spend so much time talking about it. I do think it matters so last year of course Green Book won best drama and Bohemian. Wraps he won best musical or comedy though. I would argue. That Green Book is a comedy and Bohemian. rhapsody is neither a musical comedy drama. Those two films obviously competed heavily in one quite heavily heavily at the Academy Awards. Do you think that the results this year will sincerely affect the Oscars. Yes because the award season is much shorter this year. Nominations are in what voting begins today. That's that's insane. That's it's so fast and it's so compressed and I do feel like everyone is feels like if they're playing catch up. I'm still playing catch up on a couple of the Non Marquee categories. And I just think people will use this as a bellwether and also has an instruction action will of okay. Now I gotta go watch these three or I didn't like that this one so I'm going to do this. I don't know that it's one to one but yeah I think they're important. Would you argue that this is the most consequential Golden Globes in recent years. I guess so. Yes how strange. How strange I who have devoted so much of our lives to this it is? How do we let this happen? And I think you and I talked about at this early in the morning when the nominations were announced of. How have we allowed this group of people who tweeted airlines to become the major Oscar deciders? It's a very curious thing. Sometimes they do get stuff right. Yeah and sometimes they do vote in a manner that I think suggests like a clear lear narrative will be taking hold on something you know this year. There's an expectation. I'm getting ahead of myself. There's an expectation that Brad Pitt will win supporting actor. Brad Pitt is the consensus sensus favorite among almost every person. I've talked to to win best supporting actor that may not ultimately be the case. Maybe Al Pacino comes by. Maybe Joe Patchy comes by maybe Anthony Hopkins uh-huh bye-bye who knows it's a stacked category but among all the punditry for both the Oscars and the Golden Globes that I've read everyone agrees it's Brad Pitt. A part of that is because he's Uber famous and the famous is usually awarded here also the ingenue is usually awarded here. The morning show is sort of an ingenue at the at the Golden Globes this year. Wow maybe maybe a young performer. Who has never been who's never had a chance to win something before we'll also win here tonight to start with our predictions? Yes okay the first category. We're GONNA talk about his best motion picture foreign language now. This is notable because there is no universe in which this can reflect the Oscar nominations because there are two candidates here from France so are can also with a farewell will not qualify as foreign language. The first nominee is the Farewell Pedro Motive Painting Glory. Selena Gomez portability fire Bongino host parasite and lodge lease loomis Where was your heart? Tell you about this category category. I think this has to be parasite I think so too but okay international body. They've chosen to films is from France and they've basically chosen in American production a CO production and the farewell which is very popular seen by a great many people. They've been campaigning quite a bit. Yes also Pedro Almodovar's all trail possibly the most celebrated non-american filmmaker of the last twenty years. Twenty five years. Maybe it'd be overstating it he's in certainly in the conversation top five. That's all true. All Great Films Parasol is not eligible in either a drama or best picture drama or best picture a comedy Because it's forty which because that's how the Golden Globes work and Bongino is nominated for director and parasite is also nominated for screenplay I wish to signals to me that they really like parasite and this is the place where they can award parasite so you put your finger on something interesting. which is that people tend to look at the number of nominations especially amongst the small body like this as a clear indication of preference over other movies so once upon a time in Hollywood us five nominations at the Golden Globes? That must mean. It's a front runner in every category. Do you think that's true. Not In every category but I think that it means that there is interest in the film and that it will probably win something. I'm also kind of triangulating and and my picks because I don't think I think that they do try to actually sprinkle out awards among the movies that they do like so new spoilers but like I think this parasite parasite will triumph because it may not want other places interesting. I too am going with parasite. I think it would be insane to not go with parasite though I will be devil's advocating my way through this whole conversation. It's always voiced finds you podcast and live life with you Sean. Best motion picture animated amandus fever category frozen to how to train your dragon. The hidden world missing link Toy Story. Four and the Lion King which I find to be the funniest nomination here because the lion king was not submitted as animated feature to the Academy Nevertheless LS Globes has decided to nominate here. I would think twice. Sorry for yes I think that would be the only answer okay. I think that's the only truly beloved loved Film on this lineup. I think that's the only both critical and commercial success that tends to be the kind of wins. Best animated feature which is one of the more interesting features Church of the animated feature categories to me. Is that very rarely do films that are not commercially successful win there but all also also. You can't just be commercially successful. You have to be a masterpiece in the zone which is why pigs are winding picks ours when one almost every year at the Golden Globes since its inception except for last gear when Dino at one now I suck Spiderman Song. Oh Yeah that was a good movie. I was a great toy story. Four th. That's boring category. Hopefully they put that one up
Golden Globe Nominations: Netflix Leads — In Both Movies And Television
"Golden globe nominations came out of this morning so that's going to error the seventy seven golden globes will air on January fifth the Beverly Hilton hotel with Ricky Jr vase is the host the seventy seventh annual golden globe awards it's always it's always a fun time because the actors everybody very very relaxed that might be one way to say it they're very relaxed well a lot of them appear to be have snapped in old sold now Matt Roush is on the line Matt good morning how are you pretty good how you doing good to have this chance to chat with you John Heinz in for Dave Lee here and golden globe nominations coming out here and and we're learning more and more about this a couple of my favorites made the cut including Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin for the Kaminski method which is just a I just I just that is a a marvelous marvelous shell yeah and they really do love it it didn't get quite as much love by the Emmys and all but yeah it did well for them last year at the golden globes I think Michael Douglas one and maybe Alan Arkin dead but aunts and sort of the show so that was good so good showing from them although I do think when it comes down to it what's probably going to win the big prizes this year because of the show this what the Emmys last year is Amazon's flea bag starring Phoebe Waller bridge and she's a real rising star in the show was so traffic is only six episodes for to see them then and still that so made a big impact and it's what the critics awards as well so yeah and then the marvelous with this Maisel as well the the Amazon show that the just dropped last weekend and and so people are Startin side are just now binging a probably but that one does very well at the awards to be yes and the the Kaminski method is a favorite of the golden globes and the golden globes do love shows that have sort of really starry cast on them like Michael Douglas coming back to television and that was a really big deal so another another show I think somebody beat some people might be surprised got a bunch of nominations is the morning show from the brand new streaming service apple but it's a very starry inside the baseball behind the scenes look at a morning show that has the Matt Lauer type scandal it was nominated for best drama and the two stars Jennifer Aniston Reese Witherspoon were both nominated and they're just big stars and and the globe I mean people like Jennifer Aniston just like tailor made for a globe nomination so even though that still got some X. reviews it's in the top tier of the drama series being nominated for the clubs the thing about that let me mention mark marvelous Mrs Maisel how many episodes do they drop when they drop for a season something they do to him this time they did eight episodes episode so and then when we look at this when we look forward to what's going on I'm curious to know this doesn't ever become like a precursor though for the Emmys doesn't because the Emmys are quite a ways away it's not as it's not as tied to the Emmys as it is seen as like an Oscar precursors of right look at this is like a bellwether for what's going to happen the Oscar nominations and what's really happening there is the fact that Netflix is has just released dominated the field in both television and movies with movies like the Irishman M. marriage story and even smaller films like you well actually with the but that Eddie Murphy movie dolomite is my name got a comedy nomination so did very well they got seventeen nominations in movies they also got seventeen nominations in in television with shows like the crown which just happened just dropped in amazing affect the third season a few weeks ago with a brand new cast including Olivia Colman as the queen Tobias Menzies as prince Philip and Helena Bonham Carter as the sister princess Margaret all three of those got globe nominations as well so they love that there is that a show that a lot of people milling would be familiar with called unbelievable it was a limited series true crime drama that's had a mirror weaver and Toni Collette played detectives and Kaelin beaver a young girl who was sexually assaulted and it dealt with this serial rapist is really just a great series but didn't get a lot of buzz because to get swallowed by all the Netflix stuff this would popped out and got four nominations which is as many of the crown and the most nominated TV mini series which was Chernobyl on HBO so again in a lot there's so much TV nowadays it's hard for anything to pop through well yes I heard you mention that more than once there is just an awful lot of television these days so that's pretty much the way it it what it comes down to to hear so what are you looking forward to see what's coming up what's new on the radar is there anything new on the radar well not a lot new but I will tell you one thing that is if you're watching TV this week in what if one of your habits of the watch wheel of fortune along with jeopardy that you're gonna notice the Pat Sajak is nowhere to be seen on the set of they're going into their big winner promotion they called the secret Santa give away and Vanna white is stepping in for Pat Sajak this the next week these episodes were filmed while he was recovering from a domino surgery and she's in a guest once before at least but but and then the many many years they've done the show but to have her doing the Pat Sajak they'll be startling for people if they didn't know this happened with those episodes airing this and next week and the Paley this budget Disney characters on the set as well because of the Disney promotion so I don't know what that means group is going to turn over letters or what it was in late night you know we were back in the days of Johnny Carson there used to be you know guest hosts were pretty much of a regular thing with the take a vacation they let celebrities coming together so the almost never see that anymore but for the next two weeks on James cordons sort of rambunctious late late show the show the comes on on CBS following call there he's got a guest host filling in while he goes in films with a Netflix movie and so we're gonna see Alicia keys and item later on you'll see Melissa McCarthy said and then Jeff Goldblum and and Harry styles field the rapper lots lots of the under some quite a few more so for the next two weeks are we different Gasol's every night on the on the James cordon show which is a really fun show a lot of people don't stay up that late to watch it but again I would like to see more of more of that like having people stepped in when when the when the when the host goes away so you don't want to repeat mode and just spread the wealth a little bit yeah one of one people are gonna that job all right well I'll tell you what Dave Lee will be back with you next Thursday I just get to fill in today and tomorrow he'll check back in with you next Thursday I mean next Monday it's Monday for goodness sake well it's a pleasure to talk to you John always yeah I was of a joint chatting with you Matt because you because you know the stuff and it's it's it's good thank you so 'The Crown' has returned
"The crown of season three as you said just started it's pita Morgan's multi decade multiseason story of the life and times of Queen Elizabeth. The second who came to the throne as y'all will recall in nineteen fifty two the tender age of twenty five and every season of ten episodes Looks at ten events in British history and this new season starts in nineteen sixty four and imagines the royal family's interactions with politicians as a new Labor government has just been elected and the queen is suspicious of the new northern Prime Minister who's also socialist list. Of course some episodes look like interpersonal issues among the members of the royal family. Some look at events in the life of the country like the von Disaster In nineteen Sixty six and in many ways. They're kind of a cockeyed. Look at British history and the main characters The ones who endure over the seasons are the queen or husband Prince Philip. Her sister Princess Margaret a no her children especially as the two older ones and Charles. And one thing that's has happened in this season is that as the Queen has got an older and more established in her reign. She's been played it by a new actress. So at the beginning of episode one of the season we had a very cute scene in which the new queen played by Olivia. Colman was introduced introduced because she was taken to see the new portrait. That will appear on British
Peter Morgan Presents "Successor" To "The Crown" As Series Enters 1960s, '70s
"Let's get back to fresh air contributor Dave Davies and his twenty eighteen interview with Peter Morgan creator and writer of the crown and writer of the queen the last king of Scotland and frost Nixon the third season of the crown starring Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth the second begin Sunday on Netflix you know therefore is just terrific in this role and I've been I assume you were involved in the casting what were you looking for and what did you see in her arms thirty one year old on the cost of care for which is now sort of with almost impossible to imagine we'll see you know she was overlooked so this doesn't reflect well on me but I will tell the story and live in shame so what time is we'd be so I would be sent the list of people coming to the costing some are looked on the list and Wednesdays as it were costing session would involve the following five young actresses I looked on the list like a one is that when that when that one of the other ones are interesting I'll come in at eleven to see that one I'll come in at twelve because I'm busy and important to lime faltered and who whoever the sky for business I'm I'm not into that I overlooked and snapped on no fewer than five occasions until there was one time where like simply couldn't avoid it because interest in the one before the one off the hook and so I then states to see her none of what what what no one should what's the matter with and if you want to talk to this when they said pizza she's been on for five occasions and each time you have studiously avoided and I suppose she's fantastic he what did you see what what did you see captivate what but it's not an easy part I mean you have to be both forgive me well I said but we have to be both playing in stunning you know the she has to have both and and then a number of the actors that came in was simply too beautiful you know to conventional beautiful too the faces did not have the full range because Elizabeth winter is a beautiful walls it is arguably still a beautiful woman but not all the time not from every angle and her face lights up you know with a smile and can look quite grumpy quite like a wet weekend when not smiling and be overlooking pulling quite plain and you need to believe she has intelligence and understand her intelligence because the queen country to what people think I think she has an intelligence and a very sharp memory and intolerance of fools but at the same time she's not that intellectually curious and so she three both quick and alert and yet at the same time capable of repose and being quite does fall so it's not easy and she has to be emotionally stable and I don't think and act to connect I'm across the chasm but it's so helps if they all thought and clamp brought a lot of thought into the pond and then active a lot of the stuff they shouldn't have to perfection eyesore in a in an instant but she could do it want to talk about we've talked a bit about the queen which is this the feature film that you did before you did the series the crowns was directed by Stephen Frears and we'll we'll hear seen here this is about the moment in nineteen ninety seven when princess Diana has been killed in a car accident and because she is divorced from the royal family the queen sees her death as a private matter with no need for a public appearance reason statement from her the queen in fact she takes her family and Diana's two boys who are her grandchildren to the royal St in Scotland come to to just get away while London is morning and be in this scene we're gonna hear she gets a call for the prime minister Tony Blair played by Michael sheen who is concerned because the public and the press are seeing the royal family as heartless because it's expressed no grief at Diana's passing so we hear the queen pick up the phone to speak to the prime minister prime minister good morning match day sorry to disturb but I was just wondering whether you'd seen any of today's papers we managed to look at one or two in which case five question would be whether you felt some kind of response might be necessary I believe a few over either editors are doing their best to sell newspapers that would be a mistake to dance to their tune under normal circumstances I would agree box well my advice is I've been taking the temperature among the people on the streets and all the information I'm getting is that the mood what would you suggest prime minister some kind of a statement ma'am I believe the moment the statements has passed I would suggest flying the flag at half mast about pounds and coming down to London the earliest opportunity it would be a great comfort to all people and would help them with that grief grief if it's come down to London before I attend to my grandchildren who just lost her mother

"I was a little upset that they even truncated they Gaga performance. I personally, you know, I get it. It's not my night. But I would not have been mad of a few of the awards were presented during the commercials. And then re aired during the show just cutting out the walking up bits. Who cares? You know? You know, what I was maybe next year? I think it would have helped the show to have that popular film Oscar category, which they were gonna do. But then there was some backlash from academy members. And they ended up not doing it. I also still think that eight nominees for best. Picture is too many. I think it should be five. And no last no more. I agree with that. I think eight is way too many way too. I also noticed an I appreciate it that there was less politics at this year's Oscars. I mean, there is no some moments of it. But I think a lot of that just has to do with us accepting, and settling into the fact that that idiot in the White House is the idiot in the White House. You know, I think people are just tired of talking about politics there finally bored with it he settled in the rhetoric has settled in a four we get to memorable moments in the performances, and all that do you have any just overall notes thoughts on the Oscars? I liked it. I my overall note is I like the way that it moved I appreciated the shorter performances. I liked it without a host. I didn't feel like it was such a long show. I didn't feel be labored because of the speeches in everything felt okay? Of course, they're still the makeup people. The sound people that I don't give a rat's ass about that. Nobody else does either they go on and on and they gotta be played off. But outside of that, you know, it felt like a pretty quick watch last night, but I was six Margaritas in. So who knows? Yeah. Well, let's talk about the memorable moments, and that will get to the performances, I think by far for me, the most memorable speech or moment outside of the performances was a Livia Coleman winning for best. Actress for many reasons, I think that was by a lot of accounts. Unexpected everybody had been predicting Glenn Close to win and Glenn Close. Did the whole campaigning thing which is a big part of winning an Oscar and Olivia Colman didn't because she's been busy working hashtag, filming one of your favorite shows. The crown she's going to be playing Queen Elizabeth coming up in the next season of the Netflix show. And I thought also. Gun close with a win because she's been nominated so many times and she hasn't won. And oftentimes people give folks sympathy VO or win. Even if it's not the best work they've ever done. And then she got up on stage and gave the best speech of the night. What I loved about. It was I don't think she rehearsed it too much. I mean, it's one of those things where if you're nominee evil if you're an actor. You always dream of what you're going to say, and you're in the category, you need to be somewhat prepared. Just in case it happened. Exactly. But I don't think she was really prepared to. But it was better that way everything she said was sought benthic and the lady Gaga at the end. She was a cute what I loved was that it was so filled with emotion, but she was also a professional and wasn't overcome with emotion. She let the emotion wash over her. And we could see all of the different ones happening at the same time. But it didn't stop her from still delivering a nail. Pulling a great speech, and it was funny. It was emotional. You know, talking about I'm getting emotional just thinking about it. By the way, she's on a Netflix show that I've been watching. I wish I could remember the damn name of it. But it's like two words. It's a typical British murders of martyr happens at a small town. She plays a cop and she's just phenomenal. It's a great show. I wish I could come up with the name of it right now. But it gives me I can't remember what it is. But it's pretty good one of the Brits that I was with last night told me that that was a big show the UK. It's a straight, right. Yeah. It's very good..

'cause I was you know, so bad now when they hear the good version like oh my God. It's even better in. There is green book. You don't think green books got a shot? That's such a that's another one. Where critical clam it's right up there. I think as far as one of the favorites to win, but I feel like the public opinion in that movie is so in the dumps what public opinion is done to green book. It's the same thing that they did to three billboards three billboards outside ebbing, Missouri. It's like a little weird. You know, like, I there were problems with green book, and I can understand the criticisms I had the criticisms going in when I didn't even see it. But people take it a little bit too far it a vacuum. I think it's a very very good movie and the vacuum. I think I gave it like mid eights or something. But the problem with it is. Yeah. No not. But when you leave move, yes. After the movie too when I reflected on it. And I saw the complaints that we're out there. And I read up on how the script that was that was the main thing. Right. A lot of this didn't happen. Yeah. So is this guy son kind of making putting these things into the movie that actually didn't happen because there was a true story in these things happen. I'm like, well, what are you gonna do? That's what you story. But when you fabricate that aspect of the film, then I can understand criticisms but in the vacuum. What wall is in theater? I had a good time and said I thought it was it was funny. And I liked the story Mersch, always performance and Vigo Mortenson were all great. So. In my rider now. Quinn. L A Queen Mary Queen clean, not one of the one of the most famous people from history, but water storing furniture and buildings. Yeah. Sure. One amazing storm that God. Isn't it mazing? Why don't we know about her? What we do know because I would have listened to those history. I know seventeen children. None of them have own on them survived awful. Yeah. Quentin unhappy lady eventually, yeah. And that was with Rachel vice as the mall bre, an Emma stone as the Baroness mushroom, which competed for your faction. Yeah. And how does that only in the land of film, could I Pol Rachel vice and. Very very elegantly. Thanks the power you'd worked with this directive before. Yes, y'all anthem asylum. Sue blood, you said his name as it's written. Okay. Lengthy your where's he from Greece? Greece base say Croydon just for. Greece. And he is amazing you'd love him stronger film, because it's very much about the three of you are brilliant in it is very much about this is the trio of. Yeah, it's women in this this relationship between the three of love triangle, really three of them. And and yet the film itself is quite sort of Tim Burton gothic going on very kind of production in very extreme. That's crazy dance at one point of the sort of historical. But when you're when you're playing it what you aware of all that stuff. Or are you just playing this? I'm glad I'm a yoga's fan, and I've seen his other films. What was him on lobster? And I sort of knew that you can't expect to get rid of any expectations because he'll do something different. Right. So that was fun and joy Foco dancing. Okay. Right. It's going to happen. There's bogeying. But again, it's a position of trust. Right. We trusted James Strong in when you then you can just that guy. Yeah. So we'll this stuff is happening, which will be amazing because I'm convinced it will be because he's brilliant. And then and then you just play for all the honesty you can. News. Yeah. And hope that he'll go no bigger smaller, whatever in terms of the relationship between you and the other two actors was that I'm presuming yoga tone, God loves them. Now, there's a friendship for life type rial, which one is your favorite. Both. Favorite child? Well, it depends. What you? Each day. That's true. Important, although so pastoral relationships. Have you because I would ask you to name names. But have you you must have had a relationship where you're having to act opposite someone that you're not entirely keyed into and I mean. Hi, much more difficult. Does that make it for you say much harder? But some people I think seem to thrive on that. But I I had very good actor. I can't pretend it so. If if I think someone's dick, I think you can tell the I think that right, right? And on on the favourite we had two or three weeks for her beforehand, which as we have it doesn't happen very often. And also you've said you don't like, but this is different right? Because it wasn't sort of intellectually plowing through pulling apart and ruining every fucking word. It was playing games rise. We dick around for two or three weeks. Right. Had to learn how to say on a horse as well said never done before. We giggled and. It was so much fun. That's interesting. Is it does come across? You get the sense of real intimacy between great. Yeah. Because I find this intimate scenes. I just I can't do. I'd rather not do. Embarrassing right? Yes. A bit of great intimate stuff on there..

"Did you did that after a while did that start to straight? You did you think I want to be a will you just happy working? Think did frustrated bit probably sort of wanted something meaty. Yeah, dramatic. Yeah. And it was hard to get seem because you've seen as comedy on. Paddy Considine was one. I think who took punt the biggest and this was Toronto shore. Yes. So how did he come to think? I'll get the go from peepshow, no idea. Now what we met on the hot fuzz over. Right. Of course. Yes. This is story that I've told it was time to forgive known. But. Pow excited to meet, Patty. I was no big fan. And on his first day. We had rehearsals together, and he was delayed because he'd had to come from visor America all the north of England or stop me hit come from not London bit further soocer waiting for it. And then he came up stairs. And I was so excited to meet him but grin high and I from the dove him after you, and he says that when I have been the dough for him. He thought oh she'd be right for that. For my short film. Oh, right said as more of the story. Yeah. Also, the dove, buddy. And at the time I was doing a series of show, and I'd already said petty. Oh my God. Yes. Please love to do the show at seeing the script. And it was in Glasgow. And it was quite bad weather. And then one of the producers on pictures said we're not going to let you go up to Glasgow because the weather we can't get you back. And I there's no fucking way. You can't commit to something and low budget what they're going to do if you don't turn up. And so I it not him paid my in-flight went to gals go. I was bowled. Well. Day as grant and peep peep show were able to sort of maybe rejig danton upon them. But they couldn't right. Yes. She's rude. You can't know quite one of the edgy could go, and I wouldn't not tend to peop- to know. I think most people are very accommodating for each other because they will know the feeling, but I think being told no was the thing that may be I can go. Peop- you up to that point. It'd been the thing that you are most known for me as you came in the building this morning Sunday show. The fucking Queen. Does that that did that feel like a sort of thing was I getting recognized in the street and things for the first time on doing. And I didn't advert around around that. Of course you day. Ensured cards, you a right and that had become the bane of my life. A low careful. Never mind. That's it. So people wish. Yes. I thought that we're gonna run that for about a week. But they run it felt like four times a day for years. Yes. I'm not what your host of new. No. Because they did. It was a buyout. Oh, will they send us out to be both host for that? So yeah, they it will run it for short amount of time. And here's your fee in the old days, you go peace, didn't you? Yeah. But I didn't get that deal. So they run it for year having just by which is headed I think lost some jobs because a really 'cause you're still recognizable from that commercial. Yeah. So you had that you're you're running. And that's I suppose that was what you are in the public consciousness, then Patty puts you in this movie, which couldn't have been more different was Toronto on that sort of move into want of a better word more dramatic acting is that is that we're broach came from is that where they so, you know, maybe I can't remember how did it come boat? Would they just call you up or did you get script first or so it was Jane and Chris Featherstone Featherstone, and Chris I love calling him chin bull. Because that was mis- mis- on when you go to a dinner. His name was written Timbo visit of chip no just. I bet he wishes it never told me that Christian bubble. Jane for the stone. The trouble is, of course, you have quite a lot. You had no more status than you Prometheus entirely comfortable. I would suggest on a sad in exactly what you mean. Please don't let everyone know that I'm going for a pace. And the trouble is the world does slowly growing to whole. If you leave your set, doesn't it? I always check always check with the first year it how long has this turnaround. Have I got nine person you're appropriate per se just trying to avoid the need for the entire set here on the earphones live is gone for a pace. I find that difficult to let this department turn your mic for an author. Shirley, quite funny. Saw. Grenville? He's a net about offset. What makes you grumpy? Ooh, loads us. Yes. Probably not that mean. But I'm I'm not able to cope with it. That's understandable. I think you're right. I think people don't really appreciate the kind of impact of putting something in writing something on the internet assumes because it's in it's in black and white as it were as typefaces on the field. And I don't I don't recall now can't remember? All right. Let's see. Now, you you're gonna take your son to tattle. Well, yeah, I because he didn't care for what was it the favorite the favourite is the movie and you liked to apparently Jimmy called. It is best movie of the year on his list of best movies. I want to see this weekend. And I remember Dillon said he'd gone to see it, and he didn't care for it. It it took me by surprise. It's not quite what I expected. That's for. Sure. Right. It was extremely sexual which I did not work prepared for that. I was not prepared for that. And I mean, great performances beautiful to watch this. You'll see a lot of Oscar stuff are set dressing, and and I would imagine signing costumes. Great performances, especially by Olivia Colman who plays the Queen. So she plays Queen Anne. I'm not familiar with her. Now, my wife MRs Bill had seen her in some other British reproductions of things and says, oh, she's always great. And then a guy I was talking to yesterday said she's part. She does a lot of comedy. Instead, I've seen her do comedy work. And she's a part of some comedy troupe, and she's whole Larry. And I could see that she she's does things in this movie that are funny, although not particularly a comedy. No, it's a really serious movie, actually and not even I even go so far as to say a Livia Coleman's performance in. This is probably my favorite performance. By any actor in anything last year? And then and then Emma stone, Emma stone, I know who that is not British. But just knocked the British accent out of the park was perfect and Rachel Rachel. Vice was excellent all everybody in. It is great. It's it's a really strange movie. It's very strange, and I'm not sure what it wanted. My overall thing was besides kind of I thought it was going to be like a cute funny comedy about these two. Rival riders. Yeah. It's not it's not. And so I like it just took me out of it. And then thinking back, I don't know what it was trying to tell me like it, it it feels like a movie that has a really strong message. I thought a beat you over the head with the message at the end. Which was at the end of it was we are all just we are all just rabbits. We are all just little animals when it comes to the power of the monarchy when it comes right down to it. We are you know, you can do all you can play all your games, and all your plotting and all do everything that you want. But when it comes right down to it, the power of the Queen was all you, and she can be a total the idiot. It doesn't matter. Yeah. I don't see that. Now that no. It was. So I thought maybe it had something it had my mom. I went with my mom and my cousin ginger who's in Cambridge getting her doctorate in literature rate of writing. We are. We went out to dinner after we saw it. They couldn't tell me what it was my mom had a feeling. It was about. How far women have to go to succeed there? Some of that. There was a lot of that. There was a lot of that. Okay. So, you know, there are good parts of it just, but even if you didn't have had no idea what was going on in that movie. You could just sit and it was pretty long like over two hours long. You could just sit there and look at it and go, oh my God just to look at it. It's just like the detail opulence in the the scenery and that she will be a nominated for an Oscar. So it's worth seeing for performance as she. Yeah. She's just to be hassled. Right. They were all great. She was incredible favorite. Well, another one of those RT type films. Yeah. I was a it was discussed on Saturday Night Live. I'd like to play that. I'd like to hear this. You told me about it. We can make it after the news or something. It's it's Pete Davidson and John Mullany reviewing the mule. The Clint Eastwood movie. I'd like to hear this. And it's it's hilarious. Those two they need to work together. More often, I think anyway, that's all coming up along with Boehner fight, which is next stand by for that. So we got to tell you about the advocates Utah advocates dot com today accidents happen, I'm afraid so and if you are injured in an accident. These are the people we want you to contact. You know when things settle down a little bit. But don't don't wait too long. You'll need an attorney to navigate the insurance thicket. If you've been injured. Don't try to do it yourself and don't let the insurance company do it for you. They don't have your best interest at heart, really. And I I don't mean to paint them as evil. They're not evil. They're just they have there. Jobs. They have their stockholders. Mind, and they have their business in mind, but they will just get it done as best. They can you know, but they want you..

"Academy voters were watching that speech last night that genuine heartfelt and passionate wick said speech that Glenn Close gave that is going to resonate. I think what last night showed is that lady Gaga is vulnerable. I star is born is vulnerable shores. Olivia Colman won the other best actress award for the favorite. She had very weak competition. I felt like in that cat. I I saw saw. that one. So I still think that Coleman may have an just because the favorite more people have seen it more people like it. I don't I still don't know why we're not talking about Melissa McCarthy in can we ever forgive me. I can't get a good reason for that. But for whatever reason that seems to be the tone of the conversation is it's almost like she's just getting the nomination and nobody's talking about any chances of winning. And if we're talking about the quality of work here. She is exceptional. They I bet on her last night. I put some money down on McCarthy because I did feel like Gaga was not a shoe in and that she was not a lock. I was just surprised that it was Glenn Close. But I just yes, sure. She hasn't won an Oscar. But nobody's talking about this movie. It's not going to get nominee for any other awards. I thought she had twenty minutes in the wife where she was really like on fire, but the rest of it was whatever. But when you look at some actors like Paul Newman winning best actor for the color of money. What's that really his best performance? No. But the color money's a better movie than the I'm not comparing the color of money to the wife, but I'm saying it's not Roe fighting like Paul Newman has made much better movies before before color money and even after the color money..

I still think you are able to see him. But there's other stuff that I wouldn't say just because I think it's hurtful, and there's no need to say it, and and I used to and you know, times change. Yeah. The tweets drew condemnation many years later from the likes of actor comedian, Billy Eichner tweeted, you can tell it's not just a joke. There's real truth anger and fear behind these. My hiney out tweeting the choice of hardest host was quote out of sync for a year in which rainy Malik Melissa McCarthy. Olivia Colman mar her Saleh Ali, Richard grant, Emma, stone, Rachel Weiss and Lucas hedges could all get nominated for. Playing LBJ t q characters. You know, what I enjoy watching y'all tie yourself into notch? Hollywood. This is more entertaining to me than most of your output. So keep it up at some point. You're going to have a very diverse very inclusive. Very politically correct broadcast that one hundred thousand people watch on some cable channel nobody's ever heard of. Yeah. And then I guess it'll be perfect. Yeah. Yeah. You know, I hear dumb speaking to the diversity thing was listening to Jordan Peterson. Well, if you don't know who he is Google it talking about the differences, the innate differences on average between men and women in standard deviations and starting with the most obvious that if you are an aggressive woman, you would have to be in the top fifteen percent of her. I can't you'd have to be the most aggressive women woman is less aggressive than eighty five percent of males and talking about that in interest in in sciences and gadgets versus. The people and just the the reason people are trying to various professions and the differences between men and women and the interesting part was there are no differences between men and women. That is an idiotic statement. In the interesting part of what what he was talking about is in your societies that have just gone absolutely crazy to ensure equality that you know, every opportunity exists for everybody at every level in every profession like some of your Scandinavian states. And if you don't end up with the for instance, fifty percent men and women on this clearly it was because of some sort of bias, right, right? Exactly results-oriented analysis. The interesting part is though than when you survey people in those countries, you get higher rates of differentiation between the sexes on what they wanna do. And what they're interested in. If there are absolutely no barriers to a woman becoming an engineer you find a lower rate of women intent on becoming an engineer in those societies and trace, really. Weird. And I don't have time to explain you know, what I think in what he thought about it. But that was one of a couple of really really interesting points on that topic. What was the other one in flooded out of my head? I'm trying to do this so quickly. I shouldn't my brain. Just doesn't work quickly. I'm slow it. I need to the Eric Clapton. Slowhand Joe Getty. "You're playing Angela bird the spymaster recruits, Tom Hilton's Jonathan pine, a former soldier to pursue Hugh Laurie's, Richard Roeper, a arms dealer. This was an adaptation with a big change. They are going to have your character be a woman instead of a man was that, was that something that you were called in for a meeting and not knowing which part did you already realize that this was that decision had already happened. They they, they, they decided, I think the carry wanted. To be a woman also reflects, you know, if they're going to update it. That the flex more modern time and. Molefi most bias than than mail. So it made sense. You can't do that anymore. Have three leads really. And so. We'll credit to them for changing it. I know. So I tend up and was pregnant. Because that's unbelievable. But the the way that that all unfolded which I wanna ask you about, but I just think people should also hear that something McRae's son said, which was quote when he met a Livia and saw her on screen, his media reaction was the birth should never have been a man. I mean, that's quite high praise from when you know he's a generally not somebody that likes people messing with his work when it's been a depth that as as I understand it and obviously he had to believe in, you know, he was involved the adaptation notice in so to make the change in be that happy as pretty pretty great. But for you. Let's let's talk about this pregnancy aspect because I mean, how do you remember the amount of time that unfolds in the course of the night manager, how much time passes. What actually, how long we filming it? No, within the story itself, supposedly how much time has elapsed, because I think it's more than nine months, right? Yes. Well meant to be a bit where you can't see my belly summit to be not be pregnant wearing the massive jump. And then. Yeah, actually, I think it's fairly short period, but they just travel. A lot set. Looks like multi talk about high praise that or. Or you know the high regard that they wanted to work with you that they would so much that not only does it not matter that you're pregnant, but I can. I, I think that was a concern, but I think the stories actually meant to be quite condensed. But it just looks like it's on. So the experience of that one with. You know, Hugh Laurie has been considered for years. One of the best guys on TV and also in other media Nelson, do you three must've had a pretty intense experience there we had fun is so important to have found. Saving lives really lucky with very, very lucky to do the job do and like it when people realize that and we'll eat and Hugh is so much fun on what, what hero of mine as well with him. Great. And just to keep the tally going here, the sporting actress, Golden Globe, win nomination for the EMI for best actress in a limited series or TV movie. So people again, I, this is not just to drop random facts. I think it's kind of to convey that how the industry was increasingly appreciating your work. Then just, you know, other incrementally along the way to the favorite was working with Phoebe. While reg again with fleabag. And then we come to, I guess this call of yoga was just a, how did you hear that the favorite existed in and he wanted you. I can't remember. I think I think he'd mentioned the film or the. "Which is one of yoga's his previous films in his mother, tongue language. And I just don't forget that foam is still so many images on. It doesn't happen with many films that really stays with you. And so, yeah, so I was definitely excited to read lobster and often a loved that character to a real bad ass. Horrible real excited to play that. Joel housing, like what was it about him that stood out to you most because obviously you were willing to go back and do it again and with the favorite. But why? I mean, he's if all you know about him. Are his movies, which is for me and most people, I guess the case you have to think he's got to be a really essential. Strange gut is that true? Now he's, he's a lovely, warm, hearted, intelligent, lovely gentleman, and the sort of great sense of humor. He finds everything funny and. Was it off to lobster? I wasn't entirely sure that he was happy with what done. Smiles and responds. Really. It doesn't dish out the compliment Senate under well. I bought it. Time, and we'll see what happens and then to find out in a favorite, he goes back. Okay. Well, went winless. Well, I mean, I would think also might have. Whether or not meant that he liked it the the public light because you got best actress nomination for the London Film Critics Circle award and won the British appenafren ward for the lobster. Then going back to British TV with Rev, which was, I guess, seems like right about the same time has the there's a quote in a moment. The flying that I thought was the funniest of your or the moment where we basically see the, you're playing the Vickers stoic, but secretly body wife who at one point Jesus, whereas the quote loved of basically has been asked. I guess he, he, he sees this, Tom Hollander sees that you are checking out. Somebody else wants to find out like actually what your secret passions are and get into this whole. Thing rattling them off. I thought it was one of the funniest boats you've ever seen about sex lift in public somewhere being naughty. When there are strangers around dressing as stripper has a prostitute and being picked up by someone famous being service by faceless men who are only interested in satisfied. I mean, it was just like. That was there. There comes back. And a BAFTA non for you and win for the comedy series there for that one. I mean, I think that. It may have been around this point here that it started popping up in a lot of these profiles and interviews of you there where I think British people were certainly realizing that you're basically every TV show they loved for years. British TV seems like was a head of American TV in terms of. Having high quality programming like in US for for years, it was looked down on as the lesser medium compared to film yet, but you guys have for decades had higher. Have done great stuff on TV. Why do you have any sense? Why that is. I suppose. We didn't have big film studios and things we know made great films. Telly wasn't important, medium, I think for us and for a long time only had full channels. So it was. If you've only got limited by people watch it because if any, that's poll. As much as we can into it. I see. I'm probably not. That makes sense. But I mean, certainly in the twenty first century, how many of these shows that we've mentioned are would be on lists of people's favorites. I think it's amazing, but and an. I've just probably the same taste as many other people suffic- script. I like it's the same procam. They're probably going to like this plenty of programs that other people love. I didn't. So I, we are now in in this country really embracing the idea of the limited series, which for you guys, you call it a series. Then we're gonna have a second series. We say season one season two, it just I think there's a sense that it's got to go on forever. But I think one of the great things also about British TV is you know when to move on with your lives, like. But I guess that leads nicely into one of the most acclaim limited series of last year's that is the night manager adapted, of course from John Cray..

Who's going to be the new Queen on the crown for season three taking over for Clara Foy who I didn't know very well and actress, but I'm very excited now as upset as I am for Claire Foy to be leaving the show. Olivia Colman is so good in this movie the favorites. I'm really interested to see how she takes on the role now, Rachel vices in an ama- stone. So at the premiere on Friday night kicking off the New York Film festival. So it was kind of a big deal even though I think the movie at played in telluride ritually or Toronto tyrod. But Emma stone arrived with twelve roses in her hair, there were kind of a ranged. Very, like it was almost like art like her hair was sort of woven together around these roses. She looked amazing kind of green eye shadow. I'm not sure what Redford, but she was kind of the main event on the red carpet. Olivia, Colman did not walk the red carpets who Emma stone kind of came down last nNcholas Holt and Joe Aylwin who are also in the movie, both walked as well. I got to speak to them in the director, Joe and nNcholas were both very sweet and they're both great in the film to, and then I guess maybe it's like ten minutes before the screening. I kind of looked behind me and I see Jennifer Lawrence or I thought it was thinking Mirage. 'cause usually as Julie can attest as well, like, you know, usually at a tip sheet, you know who's gonna be at these things if anything, usually the tip sheet over promises. So you you think some. Really famous is coming and then they don't show up. In this case, it was the opposite. So Jennifer Lawrence is on no tip she'd I ever saw, and she kind of comes barreling in very dolled up. This black kind of very form fitting dress with like slicked back hair. She looked like red carpet, ready, but she did not walk the red carpet kind of snuck in sort of downstairs through the back with cook Baroni, who was her new boyfriend and there were holding hands. They looked very, you know, a date night, I guess. And I soon. I mean, my only guess is that she was there because she and I'm stone very close and they are, you know, talked a lot about their friendship. And I think even one of the interview, the other for a recent like l. magazine covers something. So I think I think she was coming to support ama- presumably, but it's interesting fun little detail is that because she obviously dated nNcholas Holt for many years and he's in the movie. And was there. On the red carpet. So I didn't see any run ins between her nNcholas. I sort of remember reading somewhere the law says, she's on good terms with axes, so they're probably on great terms, but it was kind of funny and then at the after party, Darren, our NAS car showed up. He is a previous Jennifer, Lawrence boyfriend, but but Jalen didn't go to the after party. So there was no run in there, but it's just the love triangles. The web of this is kind of crazy also Taylor swift, right? So then so then I go inside and sit down. I c. j. law and the theater with cook, and I see them sit down and then I see her kind of like hugging a woman in the row in front of her, and I'm like, wait, that's Taylor swift. And lo and behold it was. And then I didn't see this by self. But in one of the maybe one of the write ups about that someone else filed about the night. I guess when the at the beginning of the screening, the director introduced the crew and the cast. And I guess j. law like wave ama- stones and Amazon, like, hey, pointed a law like she saw her in the audience like like a cute moment..

"So there is the argument that she was revered i guess her performances were as much as his but again it i guess it comes down to she everyone's responsible for making their own deal especially in hollywood i always struggle to i struggle to feel sympathetic when we're talking about millionaires who made more millions and when you have agents to this goes back to when mark wahlberg said he wanted to get paid extra million bucks to do reshoots and michelle williams had to do it for free that was the deal that she agreed to that her agent negotiated for her and now if there's something more underlying about studio saying we'll we'll just find another woman and she would be easier to replace i don't know if that's happening if that's the layer the conversation fine but when it comes down to having agents who you're saying go out there and get the absolute best deal and i'm not gonna sign it until i'm satisfied with it then you sign the deal that you sign so clear for and why i'm not shedding tears for claire foy who i was just just it's such a marvelous job he's amazing she will be making tons of money moving forward and by the way the producers of the crown went on to say that from now on no actor on the show will make more than the person who plays the queen so livia olivia colman will be thanking bottle of wine because i think clear foy was making if i'm not mistaken i don't have it in front of forty thousand dollars an episode that's not a lot of money for somebody doing a show but again you don't know how the show is going to do until you know really forty thousand i believe that's the number doesn't that sound really low on slow because won't attend episode before hundred thousand let me be very clear i would take the role of the queen for that but it feels low by hollywood standards by especially with netflix such a big budget and it looks like each one of those episodes from the production value alone they look like they cost ten million dollars per episode right.
