"I was able to pick up at my phone. Wherever streaming the The football game. You know yay yay the times that we live in where i'm able to just watch the game on my phone. Three two tv and residents that one of the residents. That i was the when i was working on the floor. Drain the residence apartment. That i was at She was nice enough to play the game on the tv for me home. She's a she's really cool. I've done a few work orders for her before. And so she was. She's happy to see me but Yeah it was. It was very nice to be able to watch the game. Little bits here and there but Yes so all of my notes are are essentially. Whatever i could whatever i could scrounge up. But that's pretty much my My first half impression already Yeah let's get to the third quarter starts off with. Of course the huskers on defense since foam won the toss and they deferred to the second half starts off with a huge stop on third down by doman The huge the crowd was really loud. Caused false start and eventually ford ended up having a punt. And then yeah taylor brit. Does what cam taylor. Brit does which is not quite doing what he should do. was a weird bounce. I know on that point but their coach be at all possible. Catch the damn ball. There was he was two and a half yards away from where the bulk came down. There was no reason he doesn't catch it. Even if it's out about. I mean if it's that close you catch it even if it's going to be out of bounds And i'm just wondering. Where's the accountability But apparently there was some because he never came back out to catch another point for the rest of the game. it was Brody belt. Because i think there's a reason why there weren't too many explosive plays on saturday and that's the fact that oliver martin was not playing and he's kind of our deep threat at this point. So yeah the crowd noise then. Third down also caused a timeout. Not just false starts. They were pretty good. They went for it on fourth down and on their next possession. I believe in that was deontay. Williams's second interception would have been there next possession was after. Ctb's screwed up so step started in the second second half. I notice that right away. He's the first running back that ran out at the beginning of the second half. He had a good bit of his yards in the second. Half against that worn out fordham. Defense they were getting tired..

"That that led to a An eight play sixty yard drive. That started with a hype. Forty three yard pass to oliver martin which led to a giant nothingburger because three points at. Yes it lead to three points and it was because martinez martinez fashion overthrew both wide lever. And then austin allen inside of the red zone forcing us only get three points. It's like just the same the same shit. Different day with martinez. Always overthrowing under throwing just guys literatures wide open or just easy basic pass plays and well. I mean at least cope. Made the extra point on that touchdown drive so At this point it's it's now nine to two which is a lovely score gami I might add That score was quickly changed when illinois. Well shoot was it. How long was it. I think it was was that the one that they it was it was a long drive. I believe it was an eleven play. Seventy yard seventy five yard drive with which reception by. Ctb was turned over by a double penalty. On caleb tanner sir i have standing over him and taunting him after he took him to the ground and through the interception so yes thirty yards swing literally was like a momentum of switching in the game at that point absolutely was switching to the game and there was absolutely no king reason to stand over the guy and taught him. Now i will say. I will say i. The roughing penalty was borderline. Yeah he kind of picked him up and drove him into the ground but he hit him as he was letting go of the ball. So anyhow this ad tuck down. So whether or not he knew targeting call it wasn't gonna be targeting call but it was definitely a borderline roughing the passer call and then when he stands over him and taunts. Part of me thinks. That's why through both flags. Part of me thinks he stood up. He did the taunting bulls and they said okay. He roughed him to. You know kind of thing is that's at least how i read it. Yup yeah we we're we're we were moving. The defense was playing really well in that first and second quarter it was the it was the offense. Just offense special teams just again the same story different season so anyway go on with what i think you had something else. Yeah i was. I was thinking a little bit too far ahead. I was thinking of in the second half when they did their eight minute drive To start off over the those two mixed up. So thanks for keeping me on. Track there but Yeah that taunting call and Roughing the pass urges completely sucked the life out of our defense and they got a touchdown and made the score even at nine Which wants to get once again. This whole game was a giant like score origami just as looked so weird. The whole game With you know two missed extra points from from cope and a safety. It just really throws off the Scoring convention conventional this convention convention. I don't even know if there's like a term for that convention -ality. I'm just gonna make up a word confidentiality. Our next drive.

"Receivers right 2nd and 11 1 11 left in the game. Illinois 30, Nebraska 22 from their own 37th. Kept seeing as the tailback of the pistol look hand off the Epstein runs it left around the left hand tries to stay in bounds, and he does smart play banks his shoulder down at the 40 on the near side 32nd charge time off don't run out about. It's a smart play by Mike Epstein. There's maybe one or two more yards to get there by going a little bit further. But he's smart gets down in bounds that some of that football one on one stuff that Brett Dilma has been teaching this team. No, your game situation. No, the contact one thing, Fred Wilma emphasized. His ball security and he's big on it. And boy Epstein not only smart play with good ball security, carried it well. Epstein today a big day 15 carries 72 yards and touchdown. Reggie Love 11 carries Brown five carries. Norwood three carries. Hayden four carries. Williams Just run it in a couple of times, Kowski 12 of 15 today, Nebraska down to one time out, Illinois third and AIDS is a big play here. Yeah. All on their own 40 wonderful again. I say, Williams the touch. What do you do here? Reggie? Love is in the backfield. Single set. Nebraska can stop Illinois here. They'll get the ball back. Here is the handoff to love and nothing there up to the 41. 1 minute left. Nebraska is going to get it back. 32nd Charge time out. Nebraska. Here's where you get your punter into. I can't take this stuff. Brian. It's the first game. I don't know. We got a lot more to go. No Texas San Antonio next week at 6 30, Illinois led this game. What is by as many as 39? Yeah, yeah. Five marksman seed sacks today. Yeah, Nebraska has done a nice job of coming back. It was a long Adrian Martinez touchdown run got him back into this game. The older offense is really kind of stalled out here. Especially in the fourth quarter. But really the last quarter and a half not able to convert it first out. No. This has got to make sure you get the punt off. Looks like Nebraska might be coming after this one certainly would expect them to Blake. A is one of the best hunters in the country here or Australia. 32 22, Illinois With a dead even minutes ago, Oliver Martin is deep. Here comes the rush. He kicks it to the left, Martin a fair catch, All right. The 13 yard line job. Lake Hayes with a nice punt. Got it away. 54 seconds 46 Yard Punt is average has been pretty good. Today. 54 seconds left Illinois 30, Nebraska 22, How you turn it to the defense and say, Let's stop him again. Remember this two.

"Today. Then we have two players and Mark Schultz our spotters an official. Maybe you want to put the shirt on and go down and help. At least you're sitting up. At least he's sitting up. That's good to see well and also what happened to him. But well, I think you got Tony Adams is coming into coverage and the official Tony wound up hitting the official little bit as he was trying to cover the receiver wound up with the reception. I do see look forward, walking around on the sidelines, so that's good to see you have that's good to see. Then I tend to go here in the third quarter. Illinois 30 Nebraska's 16. If you're just joining us, Illinois today lost their quarterback Brandon Peters, with apparent arm injury of some sort. Nobody said anything official. But his left arm's in a sling and arts that Kowski the Rutgers transfers. Come on and go on 11 of 1321 yards with Big play of the game. The big turning point was a hit by Randolph on the quarterback Martinez fumble the ball and Calvin hard to transfer from NC State ran it in from 42 that really lit a fire under this line. I examine the crowd just before half the line. I opened the third quarter with a sustained drive was at 14 15 plays and punched it in with a touchdown to look forward and the align. I gave up the huge run by Martinez eventually to get the Huskers back. From 30 to 9 30 to 16 were in the final minute here of the third quarter. Brian Barnhart, Barno, Donald Michael Martin on the sidelines. Steve Kelly had bonded our entire crew here in champagne as the tend to the back of the alternate umpire here, Matthew Gallagher shaken up. It's already hot down there anyway. And then you get your bell rung a little bit way and he waves his hat to the crowd and the fist bump. To his other officials. Mhm Fred, Bill Michelle, presented on Wednesday nights this year by Bud Light, You see Bank Alana Sports Network live from Pop Adele's Wednesdays at seven, making it seven. That's the crew number now for round the officials the first down the catch made by Omar Manning. These Stop junior college receiver a year ago from Lancaster, Texas. If Nebraska first down the Huskers with 10 of those first in 10 of their own 39 trailing 32 16 Martinez back to past being changed steps up, pulls it down. Dive ahead to the 46 Yard line. Gain of seven on the carry by Martinez. Yeah, some pressure being applied there. I think it was Isaiah Gay again. The nice rush was able to beat the left tackle inside Martina is able to scramble Jake Hanson, putting a hit on the second and three that gives the tailback gave urban. He's got the first down across midfield of the Illinois 49 1st down for Nebraska. Gabe Irving out of Buford, Georgia, one of their outstanding running backs Georgian team to five, a state championship. Michigan state was interested in him. So was Georgia. He went to Nebraska, 1st and 10 from the Illinois 49. There's a short drop Martinez throws and left. Got a man caught down inside the Illinois 20 a big gainer there, But the flag is down in the preliminary single is against Nebraska. Yeah, my guess is that's a pig play right there to Ray Got open. Exactly. Offense number 89 15 years from the previous spot first, pretty blatant, so describe the pick play. Well, the receiver from the outside receiver comes from the inside. That's the guy who wanted catching the ball. And the receiver from the outside, just basically throws his body into the defensive back who is trying to cover the receiver, So it's offensive pass interference was a pretty obvious pick play. That's exactly why he was so wide open. Good call by the official you can set picks in basketball, but not football. Well, you just can't set up beyond the line of scrimmage. Yeah. So 89. I think that's Oliver Martin. Really blatant to Ray Had the cash to Ray Had the catch was going to be inside the Illinois 20. But now first in 25 Bank of their own 36 for Nebraska handoff to urban running right? Nothing there with blue shirts hard and others there to create even a loss of one and there were a host of blue shirts. Yeah, that's big Rod Perry in their Isaiah Gay Nice job. Alright, that's that wraps up the third quarter. Here in champagne. The line I with the lead after three over Nebraska in the opening game of her college football in 2021, Illinois. 30 Nebraska 16 on the beauty bank Sports Network from Deerfield. What, just 15 seconds to talk about twisted T hard ice tea that smooth taste of real brew tea with just the right kick of alcohol. Well, we started already twisted, T hard ice T look forward in the bright yellow cans Put the tea brewing Company Cincinnati, Ohio pleased.

"We came on an executed we know what they want to do we know we had our had a chance to so that we the best team in the nation am I got stepped out man everybody plays a great great football today we have people rushing attack to ring up your coverage we have people doing everything over there was Josh Mattel's right after the ballgame attend three Michigan when the telecom up with an interception liver hill came up with an interception and this man Amory Thomas came up with an interception Nate Stanley I was quarterback didn't have a single one of his first four games he leaves an Arbor with three to his resume and Avery Thomas's with Doug cars in the Michigan lockerroom Doug. I am very does this defense of performances go where does that rank I worked ring I when are like the best defense point performance on scene since I've been here we have a four turnovers the intersection is coming in I worked QB didn't have intersection we had an interception forced fumble fumble recovery it was it was a pretty good game for us they got the ball twice in the fourth quarter once with ten minutes to go and they're driving and you get back to back sacks one from Jordan Blasko the next game cama grown shot out of a cannon yeah I mean a kid gets the quarterback so fast I need it I was a big time play about camera we all know can pretty fast and you may place we we expect that from music he's a great player then they had the the nother dry they get deep in your territory holding holding at that point you guys had about six sacks obviously their offense of wine was struggling but a lot of had to do with you guys in the secondary because Nate Stanley are known to throw to yeah that's one thing we say we say we golf forced him to pass the book because I we made sure like there was a run a ball on this because brown he had a great game plan today and we US by the back seven we just know we had that I come ready last drive they get the ball in the first two plays they throw right at you hello what do you what were you thinking on those two places I'm already thinking like twelve this is pretty consistent receiver and I we noticed like that QB like to go to my side of fear the right side and I knew I had to a lock in yeah ninety we wasn't because the book like I was pretty confident they had given up four sacks all season long coming into this game you guys had eight in the secondary did you feel like you other guys blanket all day because it looked like a lot of times eventually the pocket broke down that there were a lot of coverage and exactly that does exactly what it was like we do our job now back in in the front seven they take care of business about time he breaking about is rose to set so me we were together what about your interception take us through that. yeah I seen decks I had to flick the ball and I seem to go open air I just dove for those big play we need to. obviously then the final play they're looking at a third and forever Khaliq gets in there their quarterback actually through wrong handed to get the pass off the what did you see from there I just seen I hello his just by going to the ball we knew we had to like stop of a solid is I and in this defense we run Nestle although was about one final thing Oliver Martin played for them today former Wolverine did you come across on the field at all actually own. when a gun a razor who resigned I believe I wonder first times they try to face him against me and what happened no. and of course next week you play Brandon Peters it's gonna be weird to be facing old teammates it is a brand is a great guy side to go again so hopefully we get that when a key role every time I think your time thank you. back to you all right Doug thank you very much thanks Amory for joining us will flip to the offense of side when we come back she Patterson joins Doug cars that's coming up next Michigan holds off I would tend to three you're.

"And this is the zone. Come back to him so so much. Amy mos- Matt Leach on the other side of the glass. And we got I told you on the other side coming out going out. We're gonna get John. Borden on from wolverines magazine a John. How you doing, man? Doing great, Jamie. Good to be with you as always you to you gotta be happy about this baseball team. Let's get right to it. Yeah. I'll tell you what you got sixteen teams left plan in the country and Michigan, one of them a lot of congratulations. Have to go. Eric back in that whole crew. I mean to bounce back after they had a hugely disappointing loss in the peninsula game of the series out there in Corvallis. And you think in oh boy, you know, now it's all on the line. They fall behind in the in the final against Creighton four to one in the in the fourth inning there down like that. And you're just thinking why this is this is tough. And to see them storm back, like they did. And just absolutely aflutter runs wins seventeen to six and two to pull that thing out quite a an accomplishment for the wool rains and back to the super regional for the first time since the year two thousand seven, so huge accomplishment for Michigan baseball very huge. Hey, they get as, as a big price. Get the number one team in the country. They do. Yes, they do. And you know what that's going to be a tall task. But it's not like that. They have never been there before they've been there exactly where they're going early in the season and won seven to five feet UCLA, which was number two at the time, so it's gonna be absolutely a tall task with with the Bruins. But you know they they are a hot baseball team right now. And that counts for a lot and the fact that they know that they've been there and done that I think matters as well. So who knows? They've already had a great great season. They've accomplished a lot just in the last few days and getting to the super regional is, is amazing for them. But that's not all they want and I would have to save from Eric back. John down to the last guy on the bench. They're going out there thinking, hey, we're. Why not why not us? We can win it very now. And plus on top of that the, the icing on the cake is guys were getting drafted as they're playing their game. Absolutely absolutely. You got you got some players on this team that are being seen at the next level. And I, I it's just it's a win win for everybody because you'll look at how Eric package has in fact, recruited and that shows up that shows up, when they're, they're picking guys at the next level, and it shows up on the on the baseball field, northern teams once again, you know, how many times have we said it are I it's tougher to win in. Michigan has put everything into facilities, and things like that. So the have indoor practice areas and all the things that they need to get ready. But whole lot of things coming together for Michigan baseball right now. No, it's been great. It's great to see. It was nice to see him on TV playing last night. A game win a little longer than I thought, but hey it was worth every every bit of it. With worth it. Happy to see how how excited they were after the win. Oh, no doubt about it. I mean to have guys just absolutely breakout. Like I say it was four to one Michigan comes up with with five runs in the fourth and then just goes on to, to pour it on. I think they wanted to poor on and keep scoring because you'd had a bullpen that kind of let you down in the previous game. But there was no such let down here. And you guys like Jesse Franklin was four hits in that game, Jordan brew with three and that was just a really teed off and left, no doubt to in advance into super regional play. Yeah, it went late and it went long and but I guaranteed and care if you were on that Michigan bench they were just super happy to, to be able to do what they did know it was great. It was great to see him. And it's something refreshing, we're used to. We used to seeing Michigan softball playing on into into the spring into the summer. Now, you know, it's, it's nice to see Michigan baseball thing that program turning around and moving on, like you said, turning a disappointment into into an incredible opportunity. No doubt about it. And hey, it's fun to be one of those left one standing as Sweet, Sixteen as it were as a basketball term. But that's how many teams are left and to have Michigan be one of them. It hasn't happened in a dozen years. So you, you take that any day, if your air package in his crew and, you know you just just look to keep on rolling. So let's move to a football sounds like some guys getting healthy. Some guys are getting healthy and they're cranking it up. I mean from from the wire receiver standpoint. Well, I'll tell you what, if there was a cloud hanging over all of this talk about new offense new offense coordinator, everything else, this spring was the fact that all yeah. You got Donovan people's Jones's out. Nico collinses out, no Tariq black missing time with a hamstring. And you know, it's like, okay we got this Michigan's got this new offense who who they gonna run it with the really big naysayers. And I know that there was one from the east Lansing region. That might have said it would little bit a glee that, you know, DP J might not be playing at all this year might be out all season. So when this week all of a sudden, we hear from Josh Gad that new offense coordinator that, okay? Donovan people's Jones is back. He's working out and he's going to be good to go and basically here that all. All of these guys are going to be ready for the fall. It's, it's a big deal. I mean you didn't want them missing time in the spring because it is a new offense coordinator, it is a new offense and everybody's learning. And, you know, the, yes, they were taking mental reps, but it's better to be out on the field as you well know, but if you know that you're going to have them back, they're going to be able to work all summer with their teammates, who have learned this offense and can be shown and guided in it, and then go into fall camp. Stay healthy and get to that season. It's a huge, huge news for Michigan. Absolutely a major, major development this week. Yeah, it is. And we all said, you know, this is one of the strengths of this offense would be not only the offensive line. But that y why receiving core if it could good healthy. So sounds like they made a turn, and maybe that, that's a big. That's a big plus well, there's no doubt about it. If you just think of if you're Josh gadston, you come in emphasizing speed and space, and your speeds sitting over there with, you know, one one leg it's not functioning. You know, or or something else that is going wrong. It's those guys are going to be such an intricate part of it. And the other thing is, when you have DP J and Nico Collins and to wreak, blackout for substantial periods of time, which you did. Then all of a sudden, you're seeing the other guys that are stepping up. You sing the, the Oliver Martins and the Ronney bells. And it Mike you Strom coming up and just turn and heads all over the place in the in the spring, and then also all of a sudden, you're looking at okay. Yeah, we got the, the big three is as we'd like to think of it if the if they stay healthy. But then you got the second wave that is very, very capable of coming in, in extra receiver situations. In, you know playing on. Ah narrow at their own right. So, yeah, I think not only can this group wide receivers be very talented, but it can also be very deep. No, you're right. And then we got news. I mean, I don't know how you feel about Chris Evans will be suspended for the full year. And in the you know that doesn't bode well in the running back position. But hey it's an opportunity for some guys that, that that have been here for a while. And some guys that have just gotten you. There's no doubt about it. And you're, you know, I threw Wilson's a great story. And I think he's going to be a very valuable back for these guys the way he passed blocks away. He is he's there's a toughness to them a little bit of savvy. I, I like what he does. He reminds me a little bit of Mike heart in some ways. I mean, I know he's not gonna rush for thirteen hundred dollars or whatever. But he he's got some of those characteristics in that he's compact nimble, but he'll take on anybody. That's rushing, the passer any knows what he's doing. But like you said, you've got the younger guys, you got the Christian Turner's who showed in the bowl game that, hey, he can turn it up and he can make some yardage for you. And, and then Zach Chardonnay who didn't even get a whiff of spring balding Mosey had, you know, a relatively routine surgery and he's going to be back. Here's the kid with all the size in the world that, you know, is going to be able to go into fall camp. And really try to make an impression as a potential bigger back with speed, and all those kind of things that the coaches like, so, you know, they don't that's a that's in question Mark area. Only because they have not gotten it done on the field yet. But it's not like there's nobody there that, that can do it. I'd say they haven't and I'm talking more about those ladder. Two guys we've seen enough of true Wilson. No that, that he's going to be able to hold his own out there. But you're looking for at least three backs into the in the big ten play. You're right. You know, us on. Haskins is a guy that we haven't seen a lot of. But I mean if you watch them on film, I mean, in his high school, high school tape, he looks like the real deal. But we just got to see it when he's up against, you know, college football tights, very true hasn't gotten into the snaps and I've talked to people that think, you know, he might wind up having the greatest talent of, of all of them. So that's a that's a good mention there. I think that it.

"And sometimes you have to trick them accurate. Remember the name? He's six game. Then great pain and the last drive of the game. We had the field goal. Did they wanna collar trae like ten plays in a row? Do the buckeyes couldn't stop it? That must have been a great feeling world four Bausch team going into Columbus with the backup quarterback and dominating the second half against the Heisman Trophy winner and the buckeyes ruining their season. Maybe listen, we have a call out every day to every fan in Michigan. Because listen, this is the longest drought history this university that we have won a big ten or western championship. And I put one I'd be live vicariously through the glories of you young people Jenny. I never won a big ten championship as a swimmer. And I never won a big ten championship is a football player. So I had to live vicariously peel. There's nothing there's no better feeling than being a champion. And Jamie was a better feeling to you what I want. You can just say whatever comes to mind eighty sixteen that loss for Minnesota and the rose Paul, but your big ten champions. Eighty five teen that only lost one game. Didn't give up a touchdown to go or Jim effort or chuckle on all these high draft picks. But you finish number two in the country. But you didn't win the big ten title. What was better feeling for my JJ? I can't choose their wait a minute. I love I love. I just loved for years and at the university. But I mean, it's always you go there the with the big ten JP chip. But what about the? We have to the eighty four season that you guys wouldn't even nobody gave me a chance to. Schedule. That's my favorite team of all time that I've seen play live that goes back to all my buddy coach McCartney's mobsters team before you know, what I was in high school in the mid seventies Carney's monsters, I can still remember to produce game and the kind when both talk to the press and not himself educate with a six penny back at me. That's my favorite team of all time. He will always be my favorite team even more than ninety seven which gave me such great memories of such create feelings change, Walter. I just wanna say and many your dad has a good teams, you know, back in the late seventy seventy seven seventy eight, blah, blah, blah. But you know, you don't realize it because all that success. But after that eighty three season we lost Illiinois and the eighty four season when he had bad record eighty five season was just you guys. Maybe so proud Billy Harrison, Mark. Mr Hammerstein would swore to the ball. And that second Gillian Brad Cochran soup Campbell. Man, you David Arnold and offense. You guys had you guys win the wishbone and just put a smile on my face around there. Forget the game. And I know I'm rambling right now. But I remember the game. He went to Wisconsin the world on a Saturday night with the crowd was really loud in James Joseph was just throwing the ball down the field. And they couldn't stop you from towing the long ball cut that he was up JJ. I remember listen Cheney. I listen, I still get a good feeling nothing to do with that. Once again, I gotta think Maddie's, daddy, and you James, Walter and all your teammates. But especially one Glenn Beck from putting it all together. And no matter what you are if you're like, Gary run cost country or track or you're a swimmer or golf or wrestler, Ocoee player or even Richard wealth who probably could have been a tight end in a basketball player. Everybody at the university looks up to the football team. And you guys are what about for most of my lifetime the players in the teams have represented the wolverines extremely well. Well, thanks. I think good debut, and you tell model Iowa's go blue a four letter word. Seven three four nine hundred ten fifty. Thanks for hanging on Jake doing. I really go a hundred and thirty five frigging days. Toko. Michigan football, frequencies it. I just wanted to say I can't see why we can't compete can compete on basketball, and under sport football and baseball when we can be I think we can win the big ten in the national title one game play woman type, and I just wanted to spend the shadow JJ of here areo to Eric into Anthony and stuff listening out there. I just wanna see I really enjoy listening to this show. I'll hang up and listen winner rule butting up to listen. Thanks, Jake, Jake guy. He had a lot to say today. He got it all out to everybody. Wow. Would you do Minh? Look, we're on an abbreviated show. How to just try to incite, you know, 'cause people going you know, what I'm saying? I mean, I get it. I get it. Thank you guys. JJ going. I get it. I mean, look he asked me a question. I got fired up about once. They I would you know, you can't be stopped. You all look at one of those. Let's do that. Again. That's what you do. Pounded. I know what you don't think we can feel that way throwing the ball to. Well. Yeah. We can feel we can still sight the feeling of you can't stop us. Running around fake that ball up it after you've been run over the whole, you you you pull that ball. You got that you got the RPO going. So you you you you've been running it running all of a sudden they came up. Oh, it's over we go deep down the middle. But even to the side we've seen it with our Michigan defenses where it's happened us. And it was more say when Michigan play day Aben don't break style of difference. And then we would play these spread offenses, and it would be like we couldn't stop these guys to save our save our lives in somewhat. It was by you know, again, there was a few differences for. But you know, it's not I know we think of it as landing up across the line. Smacking them in the mouth and running down their throats, but you can still have that same feeling throwing the ball. Oh bit to right. I don't think we are. I don't think we we're not Abadie anything if we're going to do anything we go. Deep on somebody. That's what you're gonna do. I mean, the the offense is geared to go deep, but you have Arpaio's in the minds of the quarterbacks. They make that decision. They see that. They see that good release. But that receiver and he's coming down. He's like, oh, wow. He sets back and he puts it in there. That was the left ET's in it. I'm just saying, I'm just I'm just showing, you know. Yeah. No it. It is it is nice after a few, you know, again now after four four seasons under coach volume having enough time to recruit we feel like, you know, I remember when was it was when we lost the Oregon so two thousand five six seven two thousand seven I believe it was with Dixon dentist Dixon came in doors apart Ryan Ryan leaf younger brother was the backup quarterback gets hurt. They ended up having to go to leave where he wasn't. He certainly wasn't that mobile right mobile thread, then Dixon was that completely changed their offense. It does feel nice with this style of offense that we're going to it seems like we have a few guys who are capable of being able to be that dual threat because that's part of the biggest threat of the spread offense because we've seen a Duda Dundas a lot of times, although they're playing men men coverage. Those wide receivers go down. Quarterback takes off. I think. I think you need a guy debit quarterback. But you know, making vulnerable you can't be convertible or he will get knocked out. I that's you can't put them in situations where he you give him the option. Okay. If this guy comes down, you need to pull that or you need to get rid of that ball, you need to give that ball away. So he's gonna learn these Gordon Mexico. Learn reads, so they don't get knocked out of the gate because in the earlier years that you bought it out running ads bread you had to have a slash running back a running back with an art. That's what you had to have. Now, you got more passing oriented quarterback with good legs. If he has uses if he has the user's legs. But really you want that ball in the air. You don't want in quarterback to get hit. No, we do not. But it's also with with the style of Buffon's with only, you know, having. Guys up front. It's it's something that is is inevitable. You're right. But and our defense is a testament to it. We're going to come after your quarterback. I mean, no matter what we're going to knock your quarterback. We're trying to knock your quarterback up. You know, what they say? How do you kill a snake? You chop off the head. So that's what you do you go after the quarterback. So you've gotta have one or two maybe three guys that can play quarterback and understand what they're what the what they're supposed to do. Because every time you're leaving that quarterback out the dry, even if he has the road the ball if he has the pull it if he has the past. He's gotta read off that the that hot that hot read that's gonna come at them. Or you've got you know, again, you've got gotta tight end split out three or four wide receivers. There's gonna be some times where you're going to have to take a shot to deliver that ball. Right. And that, you know, it's, you know, it's football. It's a violent. It's via. Rough game. But like you said you wanna do whatever you can to limit those. Right. That's I mean, that's the key. And that's the only so much. I like when I hear I just hear spread. I hear pro spread that has pro aspects to it that keeps the it's it's, hey, we still have the big office of light what downsides of the light. But now, no. Try to get quick quick little library. We got big football offense of live. And now they're gonna block. So that's what they're gonna do. Yeah. We we're still getting some big boys. Forget I can't remember the name of my head. But the offensive linemen that we have in next year's recruiting class already three thirty. Yeah. This guy's coming. Big boys. Jay mo. You got some guys coming. So you're gonna see a difference of t that that's they made read the spread. But they're going to run the ball to but will be dear. We would have made the passing game. Not fifty fifty fifty one sixty sixty forty seventy thirty that year receive is going to catch the ball. And probably got I think that's why they got quick quick guys. They got these big wide receivers that could go up and get the ball with these big aids. They fight for the ball got to be able to go get it in. But you know, we've only seen a limited amount of three black. But he's looks like he's been able to do that. But you know, Nico through the end of last year and really that Ohio State game the the ones that he went up and got right. He he's proven that. He can be that guy. So you know, like you said, hopefully, we've got a few of them. Yeah. Well, you got a few. You got yourself receiving core that there it's an older but younger receiving core. Which I mean, you like it. Guys that fill in that are going to play. If you run if you run a nine, which is just flat road, they go over and take a break. He may get mad because the guy that replaced him. He he scored touchdown. Next guy. Like, you said there's a lot of them right now coming in as a sophomore. You know, we've heard about a lot of these guys in the freshman class Oliver Martin another guy to along with the other big names that have been around for for a while now. So yeah, should be should be exciting to see we need to take a break. We come back. Hey, we still have the phone lines open. You're good. You're listening to the m zone. "We're we're we're getting close to being able to hit those deep throws those shots down the field. Now, Oliver Martin Roddy bell, Mike, San sill, Tariq black still. Doing some good things. Really also want him to take the next step. You know, really become a detail player detail with the technique detail and better conditioned, but he's he's he's in a position to also take a take another step. And so I think we're coming along really good in that area. Nobody really the finished product yet. But you know, on their way, you know, on their way, but they got the got things to, you know, some puzzles two pieces of the puzzle to keep keep putting together, but very impressed with with that as well and short yards running game. We gotta get better at we're right now, there's going to be a real emphasis in the next two practices of you know, running the ball inside. We're not we're not playing with the pad level and the and the and the strike, you know, in the finish that we need to. So that we're gonna hap up the old inside run, drew. That drill drills getting getting aft- up and ramped up as say a little froth going. Bo would say it's time to grind little meat. So you. Two more practices left with two fractures left. Yes. Tuesday and Thursday. And then so next week on the podcast will do a little spring ball recap. It we'll do a little more football than, but there are a couple of things I do wanna hit on as we open things up here and attack each day, the Harbaugh's podcast as you've actually where I was going to go with this originally before we jumped off into the football conversation because there's so much football going on. Did you happen to have a chance to see the biggest story in sports over the weekend with Tiger Woods went in the master's and pull him back and greatness rising back to the top. Yeah. That was that was a terrific tournament. And. Really really happy for for Tiger Woods. You know, somebody you've kind of feel like you're, you know, we've all been watching for so long, and it was a thrill to see him. You know, having a heaven the thrill of being right back in that in that moment, you know in that championship chase. And and he delivered yet again that was a great moment at the end when he's there hugging his kids. And I know you can have now like Jack. I'm sure you as the embrace of father, son or mother and a mother and son with him and his mom and then him with his kids. And now you after big wins or you after your kids have big wins. You can relate to those really special private moments that are very public. And for me. It was back when his dad was still with us and one that I tournament is dad waiting for him. And they ended the story by on the Bob Hope show and his dad how he got him involved in golf early. You gotta think that his dad somewhere. It's got a big smile on his face. And then giving him a high five I'm sure he does something else has been a hot topic. Around town as of late. It's something that you actually deal with a lot of the football side of the not quite as much as they do on the basketball side. But right now, coach lines dealing with a couple of guys that have, you know, they make a decision to leave early and in the NBA, you can you announce you go through the full processes a lot to go through and then you could withdraw or not. But as you guys go through the process, or if if maybe one of the basketball players came to you and said what what is your advice, a young guys when they're if it's their a borderline guy, whatever it might be. And they're just they're kind of sitting there not really sure exactly should they leave school early. Should they go pro? And they come back is there specific kinds of things that you talk about what the guys or advice you'd like to live by. Yeah. I do I keep it real simple. I mean, get your degree. Once you have you degree in your in your pocket, then that would be the time to leave college and move on. With your life's work your life, your next life's endeavor,.

"Still take advantage of that great deal. Go blue and get an upgrade to a twenty ounce, drink free, cookies or chips. I was over. There's a few minutes ago. They told me cope people have like bellowed out like walked in there. And on the blue really loud, apparently someone yelled, go green. And I said, well, did you give you give the discount personnel? Go green. And they said they did. So if you're a Spartan fan listening to this show, you can say go green, but they draw the line with Ohio State. You cannot say go bucks that just will not get you any type of upgrade whatsoever. Nine four west. Eisenhower Parkway terrific old fashioned submarine sandwiches. They make them all to order right in front of your face. When you walk in determine, you know, what kind of bread you want. We recommend everything. What type of me? Meets what type you know, if you want the these guys got the steak hoagie today, get buffalo, chicken, whatever you want on it recommend a getting a grilled be everything bread and see putting the develops sauce on top of it. You can see the entire menu at two Bellas dot com. D I B E L AS dot com. Before Zach promised you a little bit of football before we get into that. Ms on ask you, I saw this tweet in between the break. The Michigan has the most college alums in the NHL playoffs. They have twelve nice. And I'm wondering who you think has the best chance to. Win a Stanley Cup. Well as far as the team or which one the alums. Yeah. Which one of the alums nobody plays for the not place for the predators. And I don't think anybody plays for the lightning and nobody plays from the flames who are three of the top one seeds. However, Carl Haglund place with a capitalist who are one seed in the in the playoffs, you Zakheim and the Toronto Maple Leafs. Were you know were good team this past season? Winnipeg Jets pretty good team this year, you got Trueba cow Connor Andrew cop. I'll play for the jets. Yeah. Who do you think has the best chance which which former wolverine will be raising Lord Stanley's Cup this year at this point right now. I don't think any of the alums will. No, I don't think. So I think right now, I think Sunday we kinda gave our projections. As far as who we think would get to the Cup final and. I think got Tampa. And Winnipeg, but Tampa is way too damn good Neo Nikita kucherov. You know is going to be named the MVP. There's no doubt about it. You know, the ease the top point getters well too. So I think it's what he gets a not the rocket Rashard. But like whatever the award is for top point of the season, obviously, they clinched they clinched the the the presidents trophy like three weeks ago they clocked up their playoff spot about a month ago. That's how good of a team they are. And you know, barring any injuries in the postseason. I think Tampa Bay probably wins the Cup this season. All right. So that no no former wolverine would be raising the Cup if that were to happen. Can we talk a little bit about how good Tampa is? Yeah. They have a plus one. Oh, six goal differential. Yeah. Two games. No one else in the entire league has more than sixty two goal differential. So you're saying that's good. They're like a half goal better than everyone else in the entire league per game. This is why everybody wants hopes that is comes to the wings. Right. Yeah. But there's a lot of rumors out there that he may be taking the job in New York. Could I yeah, I don't really want to go down that rabbit hole right now. Just because I mean, you brought it up. I don't know why. I know I know. But if that were to happen. I think there'd be like meltdown city here in Detroit. Well, yeah. No. I know. That's yeah. So I just let let's save it for why there he goes there does not go there. Okay. Right. No. I'm not. I'm not. Yeah. I'm just I think I I wanna I don't wanna like create any stress today's stress free day and join the show, no heart being everybody. Everything's copacetic. Given Joe Harbaugh a lot of credit earlier in the show of you. Missed it talking a little spring ball as we get ready for the game on on Saturday. Open practice, scrimmage, whatever you wanna call it talking about a pleasant surprise. This off season was the hiring of Josh Gad is give a lot of credited Jim Harbaugh for stepping outside of what I perceive as his comfort zone. To to make a significant change to his program that could change the trajectory of a program that in my opinion was stagnating. So just want to keep it. Keep the good the good feels the good vibes going here before we drop you off. For Tigers baseball at twelve forty five today. So we did talk. I did mention you know, what is the most important thing. Interesting newsworthy thing we have learned about spring football so far for Michigan. And you know, if you've listened to this show consistently, you know, that one of the the tropes that we go to is always pay attention to who coaches talk about first, and who they gushed about when in press conferences. So I would say the most interesting stuff that we've learned on a positive so far has been the Mike Santa show news. Yup. Young early enrolled freshman wide receiver that too. I mean, whoever you know, Harbaugh or wide receiver of the Gaddis or your teammates. Everybody wants to talk about this this. This early enrolled freshmen I would say the the overall feel for the offense of line. How how confident they feel in the fall returning starters and the battle at right tackle between Jalen Mayfield. And Anders stupor. I think that's probably been interesting noteworthy because you get that consistently from everybody not much really on the running backs. I wouldn't say there's been a whole lot in the quarterbacks. At titan. A lot of talk about Eric all and Shaw. Mccune? It seemed like Harbaugh went out of his way to talk about Sean mccune. So you can take some positive from that defensively. Donovan jeeter talk, Don Brown, Jim Harbaugh, Shaun nua. Everybody has has really highlighted the performance of Donovan jeeter. So I would think those on the positive side. And if I've missed any here, but those are the ones that stand up to me that we've heard so far this spring. Hey, covered them all those are probably my three. And I would say on the on the negative side is just the injury situation. You know, not having Zach charbonnet for the entire spring, which they they knew and they signed him nude. He was going to need some surgery. They want him to be done here. But not having Zach Chardonnay this spring, obviously, the Chris Evans situation as continues to unfold. You know, they've been banged up. They go Collins missed the spring so far down people Jones has missed the spring and has a lingering injury that might might carry into the summer and the fall. And the defense aside Levert hill, as you know, has had a procedures miss some time has been back, but they've been relatively healthy to foreign the Vert hill they've been relatively healthy defensive side of the ball. Sounds like compare the offense aside of the ball. Probably mean. Yeah. It's I still think this is a relatively normal amount of injuries. I play this out the other day. I think fans are just used to it being kind of petered out like oh assistant coach says such and such as banged up. And it's like a vague term. It's one at a time, whereas harbach came out and almost seem intentional. Like, I think the fourth thing. The w- the fact that we saw four on Saturday makes me think that was a little bit like when Greg Zordich, Mike shortage, Mark shortage. Yes, I thought Greg Madison. That's what I was thinking. Anyway, Zordich kind of like, oh, lavar hill, he's really missing a lot of practice. You know, he's he's hurt. Nothing. We can really do and suddenly before hills back in practice because he got called out publicly. So I almost I I don't know don't force situation because he did leave the bowl game with an injury. And he he admitted he had a torn plantar fascia torn. Yeah. I mean some type of injury that he suffered during last season. So. It's you know, there's injuries their significant. But at the same time as always injuries, and that are significant in spring balls, just not usually Harbaugh running through the list, outlining it, all of them in such clear detail. Yeah. No, that's that's the truth. So I mean, I would think those are the those are the major issues confronting this team. How much we learn about them going forward? You know, is there hasn't been more good than than bad. I think it just depends on how long how lingering those injuries are. I mean, if you went to the open practice on Sunday. On Saturday this past weekend. Michael for was out there not going through enough the whole thing he wasn't in seven on seven. But clearly. I mean, he's already stated as in injured. So if there was no reason for him to be out there. He wasn't closer. Right. Yeah. That was the end of my point. Oh, okay. I thought you had a little bit more, you know. If he's out there. He's out there. Again, there's nothing really to hide. It's not like he's like preserving the integrity that he proved these not injured Harvey said he's injured. So there's nothing I think that one's going to be a little bit more of a. He'll be back sooner than then fans might have initially thought. So I would say for most part pretty much average spring, nothing really, you know, major one way or another the data the people's Jones thing, I think is the biggest thing that's come out of the spring because if he has hurt and it impacts him in terms of training, this this summer, it impacts him going through the fall, you know, that's that's a spot where I and I feel more for the for him than I do for the team a team. I actually think could be okay because Tariq because of you know, what they're saying about Santa stroll because of Ronnie bell because of Oliver Martin they've got a lot of options at wide receiver. Nico collins. You know, if there's no done with people's Jones is at the opening Nico Collins to ascend into like this massive star. That could be the case. I I just think that for the I mean, he seems like a great kid. He seems like a potential NFL first second third round pick. He seems like someone could have a great future in the game. You just like to see him get a one hundred percent. But I didn't ask this question on on Twitter. What if you think is the most important the biggest thing that you have learned most interesting noteworthy about Michigan football, and we will reach some of those.

"You can tell. What about the specialist coach haven't heard much about the kickers in the punters? There's a real battle going on at kicker right now between Quin Nordine, and Jake moody and William Hart is doing an excellent job as the punter George Carrington as a heck of a strong to in the snappers are are doing a real good job came in Cheesman having a very good spring. And we also have a grad transfer. That'll be coming in as well, let's say his name that we're really excited about. But instead, I can't say the name. So that's that's where the specialist. Good battle going on a kicker. I mean, we're we're going to have whoever the kicker is going to be. We have a really good kicker, and we're going to have a really good backup kicker as well. Hearts holding Dylan McCaffrey's, holding and returners Ronnie bell is right now starting as the punt returner and kick returner as I said, Mike Sanders shows backing up as punt returner, and amber Thomas is backing up at. Kick returner Oliver Martin is third punt returner. Mike Barrett is the third kick returner and Mike Barrett's the fourth punt returner and Mikey, Sandra. Still and Oliver the fourth kick returner you didn't touch on the offense line. I don't think very much, but did that so much last week that but the one thing I like about them. They're there every day and same guy's That's a great name. guy every day. I mean, you see them lining up there every day. Whether it's snowing or whether it sunshine, or whether it's seventy degrees, or whether it's ten degrees. The same six seven eight nine night is crying play after play after play and all that relates into. I think so right knitted unit game day. You're exactly right. There's no question about that. And there's there's there's a magical thing thing that makes you feel really good about yourself as a football player when you make all fifteen days spring practice when you're there every single day doing the things that you're talking about right now every single day, you're there, you're vailable you're playing you're getting better you practice in football. No question. I shared I shared with the team that John Harbaugh sent me a couple of weeks ago. He said I read a book and the title of the book was how to get good at anything. When you're a human being he said that was the title and inside the book there it had one word in the one word is practice. Sort of able to show up fifteen days and get make every single practice and you're getting better football by practicing football. And I think your teammates really begin to trust you when they see you every day, you know, when they see whatever, you know, some days, you're not just showing up it's coming there and giving that same effort every say, it's not up and down and sideways type thing it's at same top before.

"And we we both kind of realized that even dating back to when we were younger playing the video games on like, PlayStation, PlayStation, two back to whenever you could start doing the recruiting classes I used to simulate the games to get to the weekly recruiting stuff and do the recruiting stuff in the offs. Like, I love I just loved it. And when I coached albeit at a very low level, it's just the idea of identifying and finding pieces to plug in. So I think there's something about just the way different people are wired that they can't get enough. Like my dad is a diehard Michigan fan. I don't know if he ever reads myself, I don't think he's just not that super crazy into recruiting. And so I think it's just it's something that you're either into or you're not an I don't think I've been doing it long enough to really see a huge huge change. I mean when I started doing it that was kind of when social media really started to explode. I mean Twitter has been around for. I don't know. How long has Twitter been around? Since I started. I started using Twitter a lot in probably like two thousand eleven but I don't think it was nearly as big then even as it is now in terms of, you know, the kids tweeting out every little thing that happens with their offers and their visits, and their pictures and the graphics and all that stuff is probably within the last five years, but it just gets it just gets faster and more. And sooner you know, every year. I don't think there's any question about that anybody who pays attention? Sees that happening. How was it yesterday national signing day? This is the second year where they've had this this to the split where you could sign in the second week second Wednesday of December or the first ones there February. And last year we saw a lot of players. We saw a good portion of the class sign in December of two thousand seventeen but then there's still players left. The did in in chosen eighteen this year. It seemed like it was ninety percent of the players signed in December. And then very few or signing yesterday. How how was yesterday for you? Andy think? Defend like yesterday's waas its importance where they should just go to one signing day in December. I mean, it's almost that. Now like, you just said, I mean, the I put a message board post up about this kind of got some discussion going like the December signing period is not the early signing period. That's that's the sign in my opinion. I mean, that's obviously when I don't know what the number is. If it's seventy percent eighty percent. But I think it was somewhere in that range were signed eligible kids were signed in in the seventy to eighty percent range back in December. So I don't really know if it needs to go to one I don't really know if I mean is it really hurting anything to have to not really it's it's kinda strange how much it shifted when I when they first proposed this idea, I immediately thought of kids like eight and Hutchinson. For instance. I mean that kid the whole coaching staff at Michigan could have been let go and he's probably still coming to Michigan. That's the kind of kid I thought would use that early signing period to just I'm going to Michigan. I know that's where I'm going. It doesn't matter. What happens I'm signing done. Well, and we've seen it be very very different from that. Almost everybody signs early. I think a lot of them want to just get it over with and get it done. A lot of them are sick of the process by this point. But then there's some that still take it out to February. And some that still haven't signed even as of yesterday. So it wasn't. That was the intent was essentially just the players that that wanted to get over with that have been committed for a while could sign, but it was never supposed to be the coach is essentially pushing for every kid to be ready to go make their commitment and signed their lead of intent or we may not we don't have room for you after that type of thing. But that's essential. It's becoming two years. There's definitely been some cases of that. I think I think because there is an opportunity to get to get the kind of get the official work done. I mean, a kid being committed verbally really doesn't mean anything we all know that. So when a kid finally signs that letter. And even that's starting to we saw five star McCoy who signed with USC and enrolled early and is now already at Texas. He transferred already. So my God. I mean, like I said things are getting sooner and quicker and faster. But anyway, it gives the coaches a chance to shift focus, you know, earlier. I mean in those two months make a difference of getting you know, like like, we just talked about the eighty or ninety offers out in the month of January or whatever it was. Now if Michigan is still trying to sign twenty five kids up until yesterday. Maybe they're not out on the road as much seeing those twenty twenty kids those twenty twenty one kids and given all those new offers out, so yeah, I mean, I I don't know what the exact Genesis of the idea of creating the early signing period in December was, but it's clear that the coaches are that's across the country. Not just Michigan all coaches are trying to get as many kids signed in December as they can. So they can start shifting their focus to just a couple kids in February. And then the classes beyond the the younger kids all right with this recruiting class. I think they're seven or eight. Eight guys that have already enrolled at Michigan. The biggest one is probably Zach Chardonnay who now comes into focus because of Chris Evans. I you know, when when you look at this recurring class and Zach and our kind of joking about it. You know, does it address its needs. I mean every class nowadays addresses it's needs because you're you're signing two or three players at every position seemingly. But you know, how did you feel overall? It was ranked top ten according to the sites. How did you feel about Michigan's recruiting class that they've put a final bow on yesterday? I think it's really good top to bottom. I mean, there's some star power with five star dachshund hill and Christopher Hinton. There's some some needs that definitely needed to be addressed which like you said that that's the whole point of every classes geared towards Philly needs and plugging holes. But I think it's really complete when you look across. I mean, there's not really any position. That was missed you know, they got a they got the quarterback they wanted. They got a running back. They wanted several receivers of different types six offensive lineman five defensive lineman a couple of safety. Some versatile athlete guys. I mean, they really they really did hit everything and there's some really good players in there from top to bottom. There's some high floor guys that aren't very flashy. You know, a guy like Nolan rumour who's rated high. But I mean, he's an interior guard. He's gonna play guard or center Zach carpenters, another one another interior guy. But those guys are you kind of know what you're going to get with guys like that big strong interior guys. Then you've got some high upside guys to where you know, maybe there's a little boom bust with them. But then you've got some guys that look like can't MRs too. When you talk about the dachshund hills in the Chris sentence of the world. So I I it really does look very complete. I mean, it kind of you always think that when you see it I on paper and then in a couple of years like man, I can't believe that kid didn't pan out. I mean, you see that with every group, but it's really hard to look at this group and kind of try to find that kid. It really is to say like, you know, that kid might not quite be what they're looking for what they need. It's hard to pick. I wouldn't say it anyway. But it's hard to it's hard to find that when you look. At the group. Well, it's interesting to me is is this group in some ways, the talent that's coming in has to replace not the seniors that just laughed, but almost a little bit of the seniors that just left and part of the two thousand sixteen class because you've already lost. Rashawn Gary you've already lost Bush. You've already lost David long in. So you've already lost while. Yes, you Susan fifteen Zach gentry you've already lost some really key important players. And so you need to increase the talent. And did Michigan overall get more talented with this class? I think they got they got different talent. You we saw Michigan. Bring in a couple of receivers in this group that they hadn't really recruited before these athletes hypes the Giles Jackson the four he ended up being relabeled as a wide receiver but for most of his recruitment. He was an all purpose back, but he kind of did everything in highschool Mike sane refill who's on campus as one of the early enroll ease was listed as an athlete at a Massachusetts. He did everything in high school played quarterback receiver running back. Db returned kicks and punts. George Johnson almost exact same way. He's George Johnson the third and Mike sane russillo. So similar in one was from Florida and one was from Massachusetts. But they did like almost the exact same thing. Johnson was a little more of a fulltime quarterback in high school, but won't be that at Michigan. But they got some of these guys that we really haven't seen before when you think back to you know, a class or two ago where they brought in these big bodied receivers Donovan people's Jones. Nico Collins, Tariq black Oliver Martin a little smaller, but still more probably more put together than a couple of these guys. And that kind of speaks to the shift that we'd maybe see that we will maybe see in the offense with Josh Gad. He keeps tweeting, you know, speed in space and he wants to get the guys the ball for them to make plays. And those are the kind of in these guys were brought in before he was even there. But it kind of speaks to the big picture of maybe Jim Harbaugh's looking to do with the offense. And you know, it's hard to say if they if they got more Michigan's got talent. I mean they've had talents since Jim Harbaugh been here. I don't know if you can say, they got more talent just because this group, but I think those are. A couple of different guys. Especially those receivers that we really haven't seen before under Jim Harbaugh. Well, speaking of Josh Gaddis, and you get a chance to talk to these recruits. And so what is their level of excitement about working with Josh Gad has and have they told you express to you this idea that Josh Gad is a will be have the autonomy envy will be running a the type of offense that Michigan fans have been clamoring for for the last couple of years, it sure sounds like it. I mean, like, you know, we're not going to know until we know we're we're not gonna find out early. We all know that. Will there be a spring game this year? I don't know we saw that one. We saw that go by the wayside last year. So we won't really know until we know, but the recruits are certainly being told that that's going to be the case. And and Josh Gad is certainly seems to be pretty outspoken about what he plans to do. And what his intentions are. I know. Divi devil developing ten the three star wide receiver obesity. So an instinct kid who looked like a Michigan state lean for a long time is really really high on Michigan now after Gaddis being hired. He said he was blown away during a film session during junior day event a couple of weekends ago. Just Gaddis put on a film cut up of all the stuff. He's done a his different stops with his different receiving groups and what he intends to do at Michigan. You know, he used he used that. He used that term. I was blown away when I was watching the tape, and you know, that's you get some of these cliche answers. A lot of times when kids go on visits that seemed pretty strong that seems pretty legitimate. I know Josh Jackson was really excited when he met him for when he met Gaddis for the first time in person during this evaluation period a couple of weeks ago. So the right things are being said, you know, we'll see how it we'll see how it manifests itself on the field. But right now, it sounds like that's the direction things are going. All right. When we come back talking to brain, Brown and delivering dot com and rivals dot com. The rich get richer in football recruiting. Plus, how did the rest of the big ten do compared.

"He was going to break the record. Captain weren't you guys get ghetto plaque? If you're gonna present Johnny at the high that thing real quick after the game. Yep. That's true. That's true. Yeah. I remember I fumbled turn the ball over in that game. And yeah, it's not a good feeling. That's not a good feeling being a senior in losing your last game in Michigan stadium. So I think our guys they've been really focused. They practice really good. I mean, they choose to play at a really high level each and every week, you know, we're just we just going to be tough ballgames. So it's a big big challenge. But also just going back to the the game against Rutgers. I do want to point out that the shape. Patterson was was phenomenal in the ball game. I mean, some of the throws he made whatever you asks you to do he does. Whether it's run the football. I'm self hand off zone. Re quarterback driven runs outside inside. He does throws the ball from the pocket. Really? Well, and. Throws the ball out of the pocket. Always good as anybody. I mean, I really think he was drafted by the Rangers this past off season. He's infielder. You could really see can't you dead? I mean, some of those some of the ways he gets out of the pocket and he's able to the Turkish box work his body. The hips the shoulders doesn't matter if he's thrown to the right or throwing the left equally. Well, either side there were three throws that he made since you're bringing this up though, I think it was the third down he scrambles left, and he finds Donovan nice soft throw a completely turned back to make the throw. This the roll out to the left where he hits Donna in for the touchdown. And then the scramble all over the place where he eventually finds Oliver Morton for the touchdown three very different plays in throws and all terrific and all on the early early in the game third-down hit Donovan on the sideline. Each of those throws was put in the exact perfect place. The one that Donovan we threw it back to Donovan. In the us go into his left threw it back to a wide open. Donovan and that was amazing the way he talked his body on that one. But the accuracy of the throat Oliver Martin with throat Donovan on the sideline on the third down earlier in the game to go into his right now. It's just I mean, that's that's high high level athleticism, one of the real arm town youthful passes was to Zach entry when he threw it. I think it was third down situation, and he kind of seem route. Yeah. And he put it out in front of Zach. And he went that laid off those long arms and caught that ball out in front of him for a big big third down. Yeah. In fact, it was defensive holding was called on the play. It was that contested. It was it was a I was a tight catch tight tight throw. No question about it. But yeah, he's been great in the receivers. Again. The receivers continue not to drop the ball whether they're wide receiver backs or tight ends. I think we've had three or four drops on the season. And that was not easy catching the ball. I catch a lot of balls pre-game pride myself on dropping zero. This this past game. I draft to in the pre game. And our receivers drive non end again. Versa. You know, a guy that Sean McCue is that McEwen that youngster may be as good a blocker. And so I've seen in a long time. I'm not just talking to university of Michigan. I'm talking about block or not just tight ends talking about offense of linemen and fullbacks. He is doing an outstanding job for you. He is maybe our best blocker talked about how he box ends bucks defense. Alami plex linebackers, you plex safeties. He's got real instinct. I mean there are times when he's blocking up in the whole around the edge and his back is to the runner. He doesn't know whether runners going he senses that he knows he's been coach. So well, also by shero more is doing unbel-. I know you love Sharon more as a as a coach. And what a rising star..
