And I mentioned you're gonna be working with Sean McDonough this year Sean I'm a big fan of Sean. I've had him on this podcast. We we had some fun with his famous voice cracks Tell me about working with you know, Sean who's done this for so long has done every sport He's done World Series. He's done the NFL obviously Icon on college football tell me about the season going into it with Sean McDonough on ESPN. Well, I'm really excited I think Sean is just phenomenal. I mean, it's just a complete legend and in some ways, you know, I When you're playing or when you're watching as a fan at least for me, I was almost oblivious to the To the names and the and the faces that were on television Of course, I grew up with you know, watching NFL football as a diehard cowboy fan So I was you know Pat summer all and and listen al Michaels and and all the others that have kind of graced the television screen but I I recognized voices before I recognized names and as soon as I became more aware of this side of The game broadcast as soon as I heard Sean McDonough's like, oh my gosh, I've been listening in my whole life To be able to I've only done one game with him and it was the national championship game and we did the radio call 2021 would have been the year and it was Alabama against Ohio State and I was nervous wreck I mean, I'm going and working with a guy that I've been listening to for 20 years 25 years knowingly And I'm like this guy's a legend I just want to get out of his way like I just don't want to mess this up because I've aspirations maybe one day down the road working with him and He couldn't have been more gracious. He couldn't have been more understanding. I was a little anxious I'd never been on a call for a game of that magnitude Either as far as the radio is concerned, but he was amazing and I'm just so grateful to to him and him Welcoming on to the team and they've been together for a long time and look Todd Blackledge. I've said this For a long time. I think he's the best the best guy doing what we do. I think he's just amazing and I've always looked up to him. I've always really admired how he calls the game and I've always appreciated very much all the things that that he kind of Interjects into the game and and just the perspective that he brings so replacing him is as an impossible feat But I'm gonna do the very best that I possibly can It's a big promotion because the number two team which is which is you and Sean gets to call one of the playoff games Around New Year's when that takes place On TV, so it's a big assignment you guys I should have mentioned at the top You have North Carolina South Carolina for week one and your first game together for the season We talked about Sean you're coming off a season where you work with Joe Tess who also in college football circles is one of those guys that viewers and fans Are big big fans of because of his exciting ways Tell me, you know now that you're moving on here. What was like working with Joe Tessitore in the past Well, I've been really lucky The Joe and and Dave Pash who I was with prior to that are two of my best friends Dave Pash is like my older brother. Like I didn't know anything about anything As it comes to calling a game if not for Dave Pash and Brian Ryder I would not at all ever be in a position to have found any level of success in this profession But they really showed me the ropes and took me under their wing and then three years ago I was fortunate to to be aligned with Joe and What I love so much about Joe is the passion and energy that he calls the game with he lives that Way all the time and the guys bouncing off the walls in the booth in the pregame Hitting me talking to three times a day on Monday Tuesday Wednesday and our week leading up as far as prep is concerned like he consumes college football 24 -7 365 I mean every podcast I do he's listening has comments has critiques has Has his own opinions that he wants to weigh in him. He is just an all -knowing consumer So it was a blast to work with him and we've developed such a close relationship I Joe love and I love Dave and and I love Scotty Matthews our producer last year who is just an amazing amazing person and Kim Belton who worked with us a few years back as Well, so I've been really really lucky to be around people that taught me to do it the way I think is the right way Everyone's got their own way of preparing for a game Everyone has their own way of calling a game and when to when to speak when to lay out But I've been very fortunate to been surrounded by very talented people that have helped me understand the dynamic of How to present a game and I've had Drake great truck support as well to kind of help me Figure out the best way to plan a review or a replay sequence or maybe do some art or some Telestrations things of that nature. So whether it's Joe or the or the truck the last few years with Scotty and Jeff for Dave and Ryder and Ryder's of course can be doing some Monday Night Football games now. It's a super pump for him I've just been very very lucky and and very very fortunate. I think Dave Pash is the most underrated play -by -play guy in He's phenomenal. He's And I love hearing that Joe Tess is Wacky, even when the mics are off before a game. I love hearing that that you know, it's the same energy Let me get I just want to be clear about something because I've messed up with math before on this podcast I I once called Roman Reigns 43 when he was 33, which I still saw what you're 35 I am yes, and you've been doing games for nine years This is year eight. Yes, you're gonna see I told you I would mess it up Okay, I was pretty close to be on I've said seven. So I've messed it up. You're not wrong It's my own once you get going. Yeah, my ultimate point is you started doing TV at 27, which is pretty young I think well, what do you remember back when I mean when you started out? How raw were you? How green were you? Did it take you a long time to get I mean because I think 27 is pretty Young to be doing TV. Well, it's it's really young when your NFL career is a dud But I feel like I didn't play as long in the league as I would have liked if I could have started at 33 after 10 years in the show, I would have been perfectly okay with that as well But I knew very quickly when I was wrapping things up in the league I probably could have grinded out a couple more perhaps But I was kind of looking at through the prism of I can start my next life now With the launch of the SEC Network and be aligned With a company at ESPN that I knew would cultivate and help us figure out how to do television It was the right time to go. I was still under contract with the Bengals when I agreed in principle with ESPN and Inevitably was in studio at first which I thought was a really good way to kind of get my feet wet and Understand just kind of the nuance of television lingo how to read a rundown how to Do the telestrator in the studio and more of a controlled setting? So if we busted something, it's like well, let's re rack it Let's go. Yeah, that was Comforting and and figuring out your cadence and your tone the following year Called a game that year but it was Lamar against Texas A &M a very forgettable game Jimmy if you didn't watch that one I'm not sure how you missed it. Well, I'm a better so I'm sure the line was about 50 So that'll that's all I need to know if it was that match I think you could have laid the points comfortably and come away a winner in that one. It got a little sideways Then the following year kind of had the perfect blend of studio and game by doing the SEC nation show With Joe Tess I might add so already developed a bit of a rapport with him and Kind of got to feel the energy of the crowd and the fact that yes, it's structured to an extent But you also kind of have to play to the audience some a little bit like doing a game It was almost the perfect blend and then in 2016 after a couple of games that I did in 2015 That's when I was given my first booth Alongside Dave Pash and I remember right out of the gate. Our first game was Houston and Oklahoma It was like number 11 against number four and I was a nervous wreck I mean just to complete I'm like, I'm gonna if I screw this up It's the last year my deal like I'll just be out and you know, go do whatever it is I need to do so I was a wreck and was very nervous. How long did it take you to get comfortable? Last year, maybe yeah, really For real I have I have butterflies before the game that are very comparable to when I played Still get them will always get them probably and I hope I do because that's part of what I love so much about doing this Job is that it is as close to being in the action as close to being a coach as close to being a player is any other professions In the industry, so I really enjoy it, but it probably took me. I was remarkably over prepared as Far as my week of prep is concerned all -consuming Totally dialed in I knew everything you need to know about the backup snapper you know to the point where it's like this is just I'm getting 2 % of my pregame prep into the show and it was almost it weighed me down some and I was trying to force things in so I Scaled back a lot over the course of a couple years to the point where I could be more efficient with my preparation Understand the things that I write down and notes that I take what's going to make air what might not what will benefit and allow? Me to have strong opinions on the air, even though it it might not necessarily come out exactly as I write it down I'll have a better fundamental understanding of what this team does and why they do it so I would say as far as my week of prep is concerned took me three years probably and then to get Really really comfortable and just having my voice and knowing when to go when to lay out when to allow the crowd to speak on Your behalf when to allow the players to speak on your behalf and to let my play -by -play guy really run with it I would say probably the last three years when I really started to hit a groove.

Greg Mcelroy Chris Russo Brian Ryder Kim Belton Jared Freed Sean Mcdonough $200 2015 Peter Schrager Joe Tess Dave Pash Joe Tessitore Dave Greg $5 Todd Blackledge $10 2016 $50 Last Year

A highlight from Dr. Susie Reilly: "Let's Sell Our House, Retire, and Buy More Bitcoin"

"So did you actually have a conversation with your husband at one point and say, you know what, we should sell our house and put all of that money into Bitcoin? Yes. I did. How did that go? Welcome to the Coin Stories podcast, where we talk about investing, hard money, Bitcoin, and how technology is revolutionizing the global economy. I'm Natalie Brunell, and I'm here to learn with you. So this is for educational and entertainment purposes only, none of the discussions should constitute as official investment advice, and you should always do your own research. Make sure you're subscribed to my page so you don't miss out on any new content. This show is made possible through partnerships with companies I trust, and I'm very picky about who I partner with, so I hope you take the time to listen to the ad reads throughout the show. First up, Swan. I partnered with Swan because it is a Bitcoin -only company that is focused on helping people save for their future and self -custody their Bitcoin. Swan can help you start a direct deposit to take advantage of Bitcoin as a savings technology and learn how to take it off the exchange. Swan also offers retirement planning with an IRA, tax loss harvesting, and a white glove private client service. I use Swan to dollar cost average, and I deposit a little bit every day that's equivalent to what I might spend on a meal so that I add to my future nest egg and lower my yearly cost basis. Swan Studios produces my hard money news reports, simplifying Bitcoin for mass audiences, and documenting Bitcoin adoption around the world. To learn more and get $10 in free Bitcoin, head to swanbitcoin .com slash Natalie Brunell. All right, next up, Bitcoin Conference 2024. It's time for the show. Hi, everyone. Welcome back. If you don't know this Bitcoiner, you are missing out. I'm so proud to call Dr. Susie Riley a friend, and you have to follow her on Twitter X, whatever you call it, because she has one of the funniest pages out there. Susie, thanks so much for joining me on the show. No, thanks so much for having me, Nat. I'm excited to be here and thankful to call you my friend as well. Well, I'm so excited to hear your Bitcoin journey because you have such an interesting backstory. A career dentist, retired recently. You have a clinic in El Zante I want to talk to you about, but let's just start from the very beginning. Where are you originally from? Tell me a little bit about your career in dentistry and how you got into Bitcoin. I grew up in San Francisco and then went to Ohio State for dental school where I met my husband. We settled on Atlanta to practice dentistry together, bought a practice there in 1998. And I've practiced until this year. Sold our practice and have retired to Hawaii. Along the way in 2018 is when I first started purchasing Bitcoin. My teen son at the time asked me to buy it. I just did it to appease him. It wasn't something that I studied or believed in at all. But that has led me down like so many Bitcoiners, just many rabbit holes. And I think it really changed how my husband and I saw our careers. We loved dentistry. We were incredibly successful, had all of the trappings of success, but Bitcoin made us realize that those trappings that we enjoyed, our cars, our homes, all of vacations, felt like traps. They no longer felt like a reward anymore. And so we started in 2021 looking at selling everything and trading our time for freedom instead of the up. Wow. OK. I want to dig into a little bit more of that because one of the things that amazed me is when you told me at one point that you sold your house to buy Bitcoin. So before we get there, let's just talk a little bit more about money. I mean, growing up, did you choose dentistry because it was going to potentially bring you financial stability, something that looked like it was going to be lucrative? Tell me a little bit about kind of your back story with money. So I didn't go into college thinking that I would be a dentist. In fact, it seemed like a disgusting career to me. I wanted to go into academia. I loved research. I loved publishing. But one of the grad students in our lab, his father was a dentist. He had a standing Friday date with him since dentists don't work on Friday generally. And he would tease me and say, this is a horrible idea for you to go into academia. I think. And I'd say, what do you think I should do, Dr. Kevin? You should be a dentist, which again, I just I couldn't imagine doing that. But he had me interned in his office and he was this beloved character. He had a great lifestyle. He lived a beautiful, beautiful family, family man, and it sold me. So I went all in knowing that I've always wanted a lot of kids. And so I then went to Ohio State for dental school, met my husband. We have four beautiful children and we practiced for 26 years together. Well, I mean, you have what so many people strive for, what they dream of, but you mentioned that it felt like trappings, like you were trapped by some of those things. So let's let's kind of dig into that a little bit more. I mean, having all of these things, especially being able to maybe afford the nice house, the nice car vacation, why did it feel like you weren't fully in the in the value of freedom and living out in a free sovereign way? Well, I think that when first of all, as a woman and a mom, a working mom, you always feel like you're never doing enough. I think when I was giving fully to my kids, I felt like I was neglecting my, you know, especially when you're a business owner, I'm like, oh, I'm neglecting running the business. When I would pour more time into the business, I definitely felt a lot of mom guilt about I wasn't giving to my kids the way I wanted to. So I think you're always balancing that, which is tough as a woman. And then so many times it's no matter how much we made over the years, we built this little practice to get this huge practice, very successful. But no matter how much we made, we somehow found a way to spend it. And, you know, we went to the bigger house we get. So it did begin to feel like it was this hamster wheel that we were constantly, you know, just we were working so hard that we wanted to reward ourselves. And so it'd be like we'd go on a bigger vacation, we'd get the fancier car, oh, we need another home. And you when look at it as a big winner, it starts to feel like this is a trap. This is what they want from us is to work harder and to just keep the system going. Did you notice just prices going up, especially in sort of those more scarce assets like real estate? I mean, I'm thinking about just the conversation that a lot of people are having this week about Paul Krugman saying, oh, we should move the inflation target to 3%. Yes. I feel like so many people, we don't study the financial system at a young age to be able to question something like the inflation rate. Did you kind of notice, oh, things are getting more expensive, but I can keep up? I think for me, and I think this is a lot of people, and it's sort of a shame to say it, again, as a business person that I thought I was educated, I thought I understood the financial system, but I really thought inflation is natural. Of course, things get more expensive over time. Of course, a soft drink costs 25 cents when our parents were young and it's $1 .50. I thought that it's just the way things are. I didn't question it. I didn't question fractional reserve banking. I thought the Fed was a government entity. I knew the dollar wasn't backed by gold, but I didn't realize it was backed by no gold. There's so many things that I didn't understand and just thought, why should I study that? I'm successful. I think that's by design. I think we're kept in the dark. I think it's meant to be that we're not supposed to understand. Even talking to so many of my normie friends now or my dentist friends now, if they're doing okay, they don't care to learn. It's like, it'll all be fine. That meme about it's fine, I hear it all the time. Why are you worrying about this? It always ends up fine. In order to preserve your wealth, were you investing essentially in real estate before and maybe a stock portfolio or how were you seeing that ability to plan for your kids to hopefully have some sort of a safety net and be able to take care of their needs into the future? Yeah. I mean, absolutely just pretty traditional stock portfolio. We had a wealth manager. We had commercial real estate, tried to always have some passive investment. We owned our building for our practice, all these things and did well. But when Tesla made the announcement in 2021 about that they had acquired Bitcoin, when that came out, my stupid little Bitcoin on my phone, rainy day that I would sock away a little bit, I looked at it and I was like, holy cow, my nothing investment that I really didn't pay attention to was now a significant amount of money and had outperformed everything else that I had invested in. And that's when, of course, I started to see Bitcoin differently. To me, it became, oh, this is something that people can get rich on. I think that's the first thought that comes to your head. So I went full, I'm going to invest in altcoins. I'm going to find the next Bitcoin again. I believed in all of those fallacies and I went full altcoin investing. I took trading classes, all those things. Oh, wow. Yeah. And did well, but it was a maxi on Twitter, a toxic maxi on Twitter. I just started to get on to Twitter in 2020. I'd been on for a long time, just not active. And it was a toxic maxi who told me I'm an idiot and that I knew nothing about Bitcoin. And here I was, I'm like, well, I'm going to be retiring from my Bitcoin holdings. And he's like, I'm not even talking to you about it until you read one book. You've obviously read nothing. And that was for me, of course, I had many people tell me, you need to study Bitcoin. You need to read more. You need to, and I was like, I'm watching YouTube videos. I need, I know all I need to know, but getting me where it hurt most, my ego, that is what caused me to really read the Bitcoin standard and it opened my eyes to everything. Same here. Thank you, Safedine. Yeah, Safedine changed my life too. Wait, so, okay. It was your son who first told you about Bitcoin. How did he know about it? And did you, I mean, you clearly had a journey, right? It's like, no, this isn't a thing. I'm skeptical. Yes, maybe it's a thing. I'm going to invest a little, but also venture out into all these other cryptocurrencies. Oh, no, this is the only, the real one that I should be relying on that has the properties of money. Can you talk about sort of that journey and how, how your son discovered it? Yeah, so my son, like most teenagers, you know, his age was 16, 17 at the time were gaming. And so a lot of these young guys would talk about Bitcoin. And so, I mean, he came to me and he was like, you need to put, you need to buy, you know, 10 ,000 And was I absolutely not. And, but he didn't let up. I mean, it must've been six, seven months. And eventually he put an app on my phone. It makes me laugh. It was called Coin Mama. And he was like, my mama, I don't even, I keep meaning to look if it's still around, but it's, that's where I got my first Bitcoin. And so, and I only did it because he installed it on my phone and it was too, he was relentless. So I, it was to shut him up. What year was this and how old was he? 2018, 17. And so, wow. Yeah. And, and so I think my first buy was $20 of Bitcoin. And then, and again, it wasn't, I genuinely believe this was something that criminals use, that it was dark web stuff that I didn't want anything to do with it. So I didn't look into it. I was, it was an easy buy on my phone. And so, but then I would kind of, I never really paid attention to news stories or anything like that. I would just, but if I didn't go to Starbucks that weren't that week or, Oh, I didn't, you know, get my hair cut or I'm just going to buy some Bitcoin this week. So I was buying like little $20 here, $10 there for, you know, three years. Wow. Okay. So, I mean, for you to go from kind of, you know, dipping your toe in, buying it here and there in, in place of what you might spend on a coffee to actually selling your home and putting it into Bitcoin, how did, how did you get to that level of conviction that this is something that's here to stay and it is the best investment I could possibly make? It really went, to me, the difference between crypto investors and Bitcoiners is Bitcoiners are always so well read and they study so much. And my life motto is to always be in this drunk environment around people smarter than me. And when I kept hearing from these people were smarter than me, this is what I believe in. You know, I mean, there's people, you pest a fish, James Lavish, so many of these people, Jeff Booth, you know, that I'm like, I look up to them so much and they put their money where their mouth is. And then I would study a little more and I'd read a book that they'd recommend and I'd, you know, learn a little more, something, some light bulb would go on and you know, things like, my real estate holdings, they've done well, but they didn't do as well as my Bitcoin. It was, and then when I say, oh, yeah, this inflation isn't natural. These things are, yes, it looks like it's, my homes are worth so much more, but it's really the money is worth that much less. There's such a shift when you study and you're not all about the money that you realize things are so broken and it makes you want to do something to help change the system. Well, you know, I'm curious because I totally agree with the people that have sort of made it in the fiat sense and they're doing okay financially. They probably don't have a reason to question the system that's working for them. But why do you think that we're having such a tough time breaking through to the normies and really getting a significant amount of the working class that is really struggling with the disadvantages of the current system and with inflation? Why aren't they taking a look at this as an alternative just in coming to it in droves? Well, I think when Bitcoin is doing well, I know my experiences at my phone, text messages, email is blowing up like in 21. I had everybody just so excited about Bitcoin and crypto at the time as well. Like, you know, everyone was ready to put their jobs and become full time traders. It seems like you could do no wrong. But I know since then, like there are some members of my family who are late 21, they were ready to invest a significant amount into Bitcoin. And then it's these terrible, you know, FBS and no plan and all these things. They hear these things and they just don't trust it. It sounds like some it sounds like a scam to them. And I think, again, that's intentional to have all of these things seem like they're Bitcoin. And it scares people off, especially like my parents generation. It's terrifying. Well, what will change that? I think one of the best things Bitcoiners do is to differentiate Bitcoin, not crypto. It's something that I say all the time is that, you know, if you understand what Bitcoin is and then if I have family members who start asking me about Dogecoin or something, you know, Ethereum. And I just start talking about this is how it's different. I will I'll see a little bit of the light bulb go on. But I think until we see, you know, legacy finance, really, I think I think these ETFs coming on the line will be terrific for older investors and give it more legitimacy. That will make a difference. It's time for a quick break to hear these messages from my partners. Fold is the best Bitcoin rewards debit card and shopping app in the world. You can earn Bitcoin on everything you purchase from Amazon to groceries to your Bitcoin conference tickets with Folds Bitcoin cashback debit card. Coinkite produces the cold card wallet, which is the cold storage device. I am switching to for safekeeping my Bitcoin. It is Bitcoin only. You can verify the source code. It's ultra secure. And as I'm learning, it's easy to use even if you're a beginner. If you head to their site in my show notes, you can find all of their products from cold cards in different colors to seed plates, tap signers, sats cards, block clocks, which I have behind me and more. I'm also in the process of creating some how to videos on cold card. So watch out for those in the near future. Become your own bank with Bitcoin and Coinkite. All right, back to the show. So did you actually have a conversation with your husband at one point and say, you know what, we should sell our house and put all of that money into Bitcoin? Yes, I did. How did that go? At first he said, okay, he was willing to sell the house because the carrot I had at the end is let's sell our house and retire.

"I've never considered myself the biggest sports fan. Although I've always followed sports because, well, I had a love for it as a young man. When I was in the media, you needed to follow what was going on in sports. When I lived in Alabama, I followed Auburn. We carried it on the radio, so I still follow them to this day. I follow Ohio State football because all of my friends in Ohio, Ohio State fans. Well, the one thing we've seen the last few weeks, people talking a lot about all these changes in the college football conferences. The Pac -12, which used to be the Pac -10, is now going to be the Pac -4, or maybe obsolete. And this has nothing to do with wanting to play better teams. It has to do with sports revenue, the economics of sports, and the one thing people are noticing now is, they're playing for the big football contracts, the big TV contracts, the big money. But what happens to the other sports at schools? It's one thing when you're a football team and you only got to play 16, 17 games a season and travel halfway across the country, but when you play 20, 30 games, you can't be crisscrossing the U .S., and more importantly, you don't have the budget for it. Short -sighted thinking? Perhaps. It'll make football interesting. And that's what a lot of people are talking about right now.

A highlight from Precision liquid cooling lowers costs by 40%, dramatically reduces data centers environmental impact, Iceotope Podcast

"This is Doug Green and I'm the publisher of Telecom Reseller and I'm very pleased to have with us today Dr. Kelly Mullick who is with iStope. Kelly, thank you for joining us today. Thank you for having me. Well first of all, congratulations on your appointment. You're the Vice President of Technology Advancement and Alliances at iStope and we're going to be talking about that new position and also we're going to get into what you guys do and how you solve problems. But quickly, what is iStope? So thanks for the question. So iStope is a company based in and headquartered in Sheffield, the UK, Sheffield, England and we are the designers for precision liquid cooling which is a type of differentiated liquid cooling in the market and we're able to show with our technology up to 40 % reduction in total operating expenses in the data center. So we think this is really important for the market today. Now Kelly, before we dive into this a little bit further, when you say liquid cooling, what does that mean? Help me understand what that means. Yeah so liquid cooling essentially means the cooling mechanism is with liquid so like a fluid so like you know think water or oil or some something that has a fluid composition as opposed to traditionally most cooling done in the data center is done with air so think like large scale air conditioning units. And by the way, as we just mentioned your new appointment, this matches very perfectly with your educational and professional background. You are in fact a rocket scientist. Well technically yes. My background is extensive in chemical engineering but I did study at the Ohio State University with a very great scientist. Her name is Dr. Barbara Wieschlozel and we studied you know the thesis of my PhD was around fluid flow and supersonic nozzles. So you know as in space but here with especially the growth of AI with 5G and a lot of the other challenges our readers are facing you know how why does cooling now matter more than ever? Well it matters for you know for two primary reasons. One is really sustainability and you know looking to reduce a worldwide energy consumption. So for example global energy consumption on a worldwide scale is expected to be roughly eight percent of total energy usage by 2030. That's pretty significant eight percent of total energy usage and you know we're also being faced with things like climate change. We're seeing those real impacts of climate change. The increased wildfires, increased you know hotter summers and more severe thunderstorms. These are all impacts of climate change. So thinking of sustainable solutions that are going to be needed to support this huge growth in demand for energy usage is really critical and we have to do that to you know leave our planet in a better place for our future generations. The second real reason in terms of sustainability is the water usage. Today when you have an air -cooled technology you know a single data center, a single you know hyperscale data center is using roughly about a little less than a billion liters of water per year for a single data center and that's not something that you often see reported and when you have areas like even in the U .S. that are drought you know faced by drought like in California and in the in the southwest even in parts of Oregon.

"Dennis Prager here. Thanks for listening to the daily Dennis Prager podcast to hear the entire three hours of my radio show Commercial free every single day become a member of Prager topia You'll also get access to 15 years worth of archives as well as the daily show prep subscribe at Prager topia calm Hello, my friends, I'm Dennis Prager great to be with you. I hope the feeling is mutual And I assume to a large extent it is because that's why you're tuning in America has been Divided often there always been people if you will on the left people on the right Certainly, there was a division over slavery. That was dramatic to the point of hundreds of thousands of Americans slaughtered in a civil war What is new in the division today There are a number of things and it's a worthy topic Certainly come to the fore because of the indictments or the charges brought against The leading Republican contender and a former president unprecedented actions in the United States Presidented in virtually every dictatorship What is new is that the two sides have a different perspective Have not just a different perspective that's much that's much too mild The two sides have a different perception that's the word I wanted of reality See the north and south did not differ on facts They differed in values, but not on facts We have today not only Values that are diametrically opposed to one another between left and right We we don't even agree and this this is what is the first on reality If you think it is fair For biological men to compete in women's sports. It's not a matter of values Where where where why is this a values issue? This is a reality issue either. It's fair or It's unfair. That's that's a fact either men have an advantage Whether or not they call themselves women or they don't have an advantage whether or not they call themselves women either men who say their women should be put in women's prisons and women's locker rooms or they shouldn't That is not a difference in values that is a difference in reality We perceive reality differently. I read the New York Times editorial defending Jack Smith We don't agree on on reality. It is not again only an issue of values There is a values issue you better have a massive massive reason unprecedentedly serious reason to arrest a former president and the leading contender of the opposition or you are communists or Fascists or any term you wish to use for people who wish to have dictatorial rule in a country There isn't outside of Alan Dershowitz there isn't a liberal let alone a leftist of whom I am Oh, yeah, there is a Jonathan Turley right Jonathan Turley is another liberal And I say that despite the fact that Jonathan Turley attacked me many years ago Bizarre it just shows you how deep this stuff is because he writes a lot of very good stuff He called me a Judeo -Christian fascist. Did you know that? That that was a new term I've been called everything but Judeo -Christian fascist Because we know the history of Judeo -Christian fascism is so long and dark what It's Yes Anyway another by the way, it's another example of we know what they know and they know they don't know what we don't They don't even read our perspective or hear it or watch it. We we have all we know theirs. I read the New York Times How many New York Times readers read the Wall Street Journal editorial page? This is a terrible a terrible day in America, I Wrote 20 years ago that we're having a civil war and I said and I pray it remains nonviolent I'm not sure that this is not an act of violence isn't isn't every arrest an act of violence Now it as I have I wrote many years ago. There's moral violence and immoral violence So you may say it's moral violence arresting people and it usually is But it is violence and if it's not moral You you have Done something that only the Lord knows what it can lead to It's a very very very very bad thing in American life He told pernicious is that the word what was the adjective for the word lies In the indictment that the headline of the New York Times yesterday We'll find it He was let's see This Is the wrong one I want to get today's Column from the new the or the way the New York Times has reported it There we go You should know by the way, this is very distressing Judges signed to Trump Trump federal case Tanya should come shut Ken Has sometimes handed down sentences tougher than the one sought by prosecutors The woman is a left -wing activist That is who the judges the federal judge The federal judge assigned to former President Donald Trump's latest criminal case Has been publicly critical of January 6th as imposed lengthy sentences on Trump supporters Who went into the Capitol I Know one such John strand who's in not only prison but a particularly Severe prison and all he did is video of him. All he did was enter the Capitol These Most of the the vast majority of the people who went to the Capitol that day went to demonstrate Not to insurrect the day they used insurrection I Realized we're entering The realm of propaganda I He's used the Reichstag fire and I was right The German Parliament was burned in 1933 just as Hitler assumed power in Germany and The Nazis used that fire as an excuse to jail opponents and and rule by Dictatorial decree Ever hear of the term state of emergency Yes, that's what they did Should come a former public defender has shown a scrupulous concern for the rights of criminal defendants During the final years of the Trump administration. She repeatedly frustrated Justice Department efforts to accelerate the execution of federal inmates The Supreme Court reinstated the executions she blocked Supreme Court has overturned her Chitkin would oversee a trial into the case Which she hasn't yet scheduled Trump will make his initial appearance in the case Thursday afternoon. That's today, correct? That hearing is expected to be overseen by US magistrate judge Moxilla Upadhyaya Upadhyaya The indictment unsealed on Tuesday Which accuses Trump of criminal scheme of a criminal scheme to stay in power? after his election defeat the reading from the Wall Street Journal has been randomly assigned to Chutkan a 2014 Obama appointee Who was confirmed by the Senate on a 95 to 0 vote Like to know who the five were Who voted against her? She's not inclined to give people involved the benefit of the doubt Said Douglas Berman a professor of criminal law at the Ohio State University Two worlds in one country Gold dealers are a dime a dozen. They're everywhere what sets these companies apart and whom can you really trust? This is Dennis Prager for am fed coin and bullion my choice for buying precious metals when you buy precious metals It's imperative that you buy from a trustworthy and transparent dealer that protects your best interests So many companies use gimmicks to take advantage of inexperienced gold and silver buyers be cautious of brokers offering Free gold and silver or brokers that want to sell you overpriced collectible coins Claiming they appreciate more than gold and silver What about hidden commissions and huge markups Nick Grovitch and his team at am fed always have your back. I trust this man It's why I mentioned him by name Nick's been in this industry over 42 years and he's proud of providing transparency and fair pricing to build trusted Relationships if you're interested in buying or selling call Nick Grovitch and his team at am fed coin and bullion 800 2 2 1 7 6 9 4 American federal .com American federal .com So the judge that is overseeing the Prosecution and I would say persecution of Donald Trump is a left -wing activist She was part of lawyers for Obama She's the person overseeing the trial she's the judge She is regularly handed down sentences in line with or above what prosecutors recommend That is very rare. By the way making numerous statements concerning the seriousness of the attack on the Capitol and the future threat of political violence driven by Anti -democratic sentiments said John Lewis a research fellow at George Washington University's program on extremism This is all reported in the Wall Street Journal The New York Times is livid with regard to Donald Trump and The his lie that the election was dishonest Let's say it was a lie Do you understand that you're allowed to lie except under oath You're allowed to say a lot of horrible things Nazis demonstrated in front of a Georgia synagogue last month and when the police were asked why they didn't stop them they said because they're exercising their free speech and I am a Jew and I agreed with the police If free speech is allowed it allows for terrible speech it even allows for lies. I Am allowed to say the earth is flat. Is that a lie? Can I be arrested if I get a public forum and say the earth is flat? No First of all, sometimes lie is not clear. Sometimes lie is used as a political weapon We're told that we lie by saying that men and women are basically different. That's a lie It's a lie. We're told by the American Medical Association That it is a lie that men have an advantage in sports Right, these are all lies The stabilizing that's right. Okay, you're allowed a lie, but you can't tell a destabilizing lie to Say that this is not the America I grew up in is like saying that it is cold in the North Pole It is not, you know, I do a podcast with a 23 year old young woman Dennis and Julie it's called and you would love it. It's It's quite remarkable. She's quite remarkable. So I have Philosophized over the following question Who has it worse emotionally? young people Who never saw a free America? Or those of us who are old and did see a free America and are watching it disappear. I Don't have an answer to that question Mm Memories are very powerful and can be a source of comfort and they can be a source of distress if the memories are Over I Don't have an answer to that question. She doesn't either She sort of doesn't understand the America that I grew up in. She believes me. She understands the words When I was a kid, I remember this so vividly I grew up in Brooklyn, New York, we would play stickball in the street So, you know the guys would yell at each other and some guy would say something stupid or mean or whatever and somebody would say shut up and That kid would say Hey, it's a free country That was the answer of the guy who said stupid things are even cursed It's a free country. It was built in you could say anything Even things that are wrong or at least perceived as wrong The president of the United States and the leader of the opposition is going on trial Because he said things that the opposition doesn't believe are true The my favorite is Jack Smith wrote in the indictment That Trump knew that it was a lie that what he was saying was a lie Really then why don't we put Donald Trump on a lie detector There was no doubt in my mind that he is a certain That he was defrauded of the election as you are that Of your name. He is as certain of that as you are of whatever your name is This is what we've come to It has been a revelation to me in my older age You know, you think you know a lot especially if you spend your life thinking and writing and talking I Never realized until the last few years How many people are governed by emotions Trump is the perfect example People I respected voted Democrat because they hate Donald Trump It is better to ruin America then vote for a man. I hate I Feeling is another country where this is happening. Well, we'll talk about that in the next segment But that's it people are emotionally driven One of you wanted a lie, here's a lie. I'm about to tell you a lie that the Enlightenment ushered in the age of reason I Wish we were living in the age of reason If we were living in the age of reason forget a Judeo -christian age just the age of reason Donald Trump would not be on trial It is pure undiluted Passion So here's the question Is there a more powerful force than hatred? Please make a donation during the break a Meliorate thank you amelia rate. Excellent Sean Sean has a slight OCD problem, but it's very slight If you realize what I've accused Sean of white supremacy OCD My guests are true experts on the Middle East they're in from Israel Felice and Michael Friedson, I've known them for years. They're wonderful human beings and they're honest You know if I didn't ask you personally and I'm not even sure now I know your politics Which is such a credit to you to you both So Israel has been wracked with unprecedentedly large Demonstrations, so I'm curious you heard me you were in the studio and I said, oh Maybe you didn't might have been right before you came in I said America is now one country and two worlds. Is that true for Israel? Is it that severe? Israel is fighting Internally, I'm not so sure that they're trying to Undo what was done as much as they're seeing openings to pick up the power that they might be able to get their hands on so each side is looking for the mechanics of Functioning in a government where they say things are unconstitutional and yet there's no Constitution or laws Go through on the way to being approved as a law of the country Goes through a system whereby somebody will yell it's unconstitutional and have to go through the Constitution committee But yet there's no Constitution. Yeah, that's a phenomenon I will admit but I am curious about the depths of the division what I described about America Do you would you say that about Israel today? It's two countries or two worlds People won't talk about it. It's the kind of discussion that certain things are off limits nobody wants to be accused of doing something because they don't like the sardine where the Ashkenazim where they're taking those kind of intranasian battle Decree you have the phenomenon and I I I shudder to ask the question Do you have the phenomenon that we have in America and I'm telling you it is widespread of Children, I don't mean five -year -olds or ten -year -olds I mean 20 and 30 year olds who will not speak to a parent because of how they voted It's starting to seep in that's what I was about to add and you are beginning to see this happen. Really? Yes Yes, so this has been very divisive But you know Dennis I have to say there are issues here that are far more serious. You're looking at Iranian nuclear proliferation Imagine around October November it could happen and Israel has to go solo Something kicks up off the war. There's been all kinds of tests on borders with Israel whether it's Lebanon It's all of Iran's proxies and all of a sudden you have reservists right now that are saying that we're not going to show up Because of the judicial reforms and we're talking about 10 ,000 or more reservists. We're talking about Air Force pilots We're talking about those that manned drones we're talking about intelligence officers and you can read this every day This is getting to the heart of the nation so I ask you that even if Prime Minister Netanyahu may be correct and if even if you agreed with Prime Minister Netanyahu in terms of the fact of how judicial reforms should play out and when Sometimes the timing for the sake of a nation's security Might be more important and I'm throwing that out because I think people sometimes stop short and don't look at the big picture So even if Netanyahu and his supporters are right It's not it may not be the time because of the security issue. It's one one I have to admit I read that there were people members of the Air Force for example who threatened this and I couldn't believe it because Iran doesn't care if you're pro or anti Netanyahu pro or anti judicial reforms They want to kill you like the Nazis did not distinguish between left -wing and right -wing Jews secular and religious Jews They don't see it that way. They are willing to jeopardize Israel These reservists because of politics. Yes That's how bad it's gotten. So I think that Israel is at a very dangerous moment Where there's such a discomfort look you have high -tech Israel with many of the techies taking their companies already and moving out Now I hear it's happening now too with the doctors and I think that's probably less so but when you have two industries That are so vital to the state of Israel. Then you have to ask yourself why now? You have to ask yourself if you're an activist in Netanyahu's camp, yes you do So the question that many are asking is why now Well, the opportunity presented itself now Yeah Because he won with the elections were coming and going coming and going and finally you got a chance to put the numbers together Right. What's what has people? Pounding their heads against the wall is wondering why when the For example, we're now at something like 30 or 29 consecutive weekends of multi tens of thousands of people marching in the streets We fly in an airplane headed to Israel and we hear the conversations like oh, we'll meet you after the demonstration Or you know, I'm coming to visit Israel I may not go to the Western Wall this time, but I'm not going to miss the demonstration on Saturday night it's become the culture of the country and as it spread each sector within the nation is putting their hat in the ring to be the deciding factor of pushing the Numbers over the top. I guess you'd say what do the supporters of the current situation? Of the the anti -netanyahu folks, what is their argument with regard to the Supreme Court? That they should be allowed to rule on anything without reference to any Constitution Well, I give the this Constitution that aspect of it has fascinated me free free decades Now the idea that when they say it they believe they're talking about something being unconstitutional But they don't take the next step to describe how it becomes unconstitutional because that's their opinion That's why we have what's called the reasonable yes, that's that the reasonableness clause Yeah, all right, we're gonna be back in a moment Folks two great countries are in trouble That's the bottom line the US and Israel to democratic The editors of the editors of the media line org a source of non -biased news about the Middle East Michael and Felice Fritzen are in town from Israel and What they're describing? I mean we have not reached the point where we have Members of the armed forces taking a political position and saying they they won't show up That's I have to say that's that's scary and we're not threatened with existential annihilation like Israel is If these people don't show up a Hesitation is everything and if they're not practicing it's a big problem What is their what is their statement This is not a country worth defending if we don't get our way on the on judicial reform That's basically this the gist of it if you will leave that part of the imagination, but clearly that's what they're saying It's not a democracy anymore and because it will cease to be a democracy if these So if this this notion it will cease to be a democracy That's what they say here on the left.

Charlie Kirk's running the White House, folks. I want to thank Charlie. He's an incredible guy. His spirit, his love of this country. He's done an amazing job building one of the most powerful youth organizations ever created, Turning Point USA. Wow, this is by far the largest chapter leadership summit we have ever had. Great to see all of you, but having a good day. Good. Well, I want to say thank you guys. I see so many familiar faces. We had a fun year this last year, didn't we, on tour? Raise your hand if I came to a from New Mexico to anybody, UC Davis. Where's our UC Davis? Yeah, that was quite a visit. That was terrible. We survived. UC Santa Barbara, that was something. How about Ohio State, the Ohio State University? You don't boo. You don't boo our chapter leaders. You don't do that. Here's Danny, doing a great job. You guys are on the front lines. Every day, I get asked the question by people that are 30 or 40 years older than you, and they ask me, how can I save the country? What can I do? Some people have private jets, yachts, second or third homes. Now, you are probably like, I want the private jet, the yacht, the second or third home. You should want that stuff. But guess what? You have a thing that millions of people wish they had, and that's you have something you can do every single day to help save the country. You have an action item where you could say, you know what? The country is falling apart. It's collapsing. We're seeing Western civilization basically be stolen from us by some really, really bad people. But you're going to be able to say for the rest of your life that you took your college and high school years, and you decided to stand for truth to save the greatest nation ever to exist in the history of the world.

A highlight from President Biden's trip to NATO Summit 2023

"Welcome to today's podcast, sponsored by Hillsdale College, all things Hillsdale, hillsdale .edu. I encourage you to take advantage of the many free online courses there. And of course, to listen to the Hillsdale dialogues, all of them at hughforhillsdale .com or just Google Apple, iTunes, and Hillsdale. Morning, glory America, Bonjour, hi Canada. Good Wednesday to you. I'm Hugh Hewitt in the Studio North. President Biden went to bed. That's my lead story. And you say, why is that a lead story? There's a lot of news going on. Former President Trump is picking a fight with Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds. We got a lot of John Kerry audio for those of you who want to go back to sleep. We've got questions about the Hunter Biden plea deal and whether or not Judge Mary Ellen Norika is going to do right. Well, Joe Biden went to bed. That's the lead story in the Telegraph. Biden skips NATO leaders dinner to, quote, prepare for a big speech. So, presidents tuckered out. All right. He's got to go to bed at five o 'clock because he's up at 6 a .m., which is not true. I go to bed early. You know, I got to get up early. If I sleep in, it's 5 15 when I get up. If I get up at the normal time, it's 4 30. But either way, I'm always on the air somewhere at 6 a .m. in the morning. 9 a .m. other places, 10 a .m. other places, 1 a .m., 1 p .m. other place. But I have to get up early. So I understand going to bed early. But the president flies all the way to England, which is like a three hour flight, right? It's not like he's gone around the world as Japan. He's got jet lag. You went to England from Washington, D .C. It's actually less of a change to go from Washington, D .C. to Denver. So he goes over to England and he gets completely lost with the prince. He's wandering around. And then the reports Telegraph Joe Biden skipped a dinner with NATO leaders last night to head back to his hotel in Vilnius. I'm sorry, not in England. He went on from England over to Vilnius. He went to dinner back to his hotel in Vilnius to prepare for a, quote, big speech. U .S. official blamed the 80 year old president's busy schedule on his absence at the gathering of the NATO alliance's leaders. Mr. Biden has spent the weekend at the beach before arriving in Sunday Europe on night, had Anthony Blinken, the U .S. secretary of state, attend in his place. That's going to be thrilling to everyone. I like Tony Blinken. I mean, I'd love to go to dinner with Tony Blinken. Very got a lot of good stories. You got every head of state there. There's a war in the middle of Europe. It's like going to the Tehran summit with Churchill, FDR and Stalin and FDR saying, let me send over Henry Wallace. I actually, Cordell Hall, I don't know who it was. And the idea that the president of the United States cannot stay up for a NATO summit isn't about time we had a talk with the president about just showing your cards. You're not running for reelection. There's just no way. You're 80 years old and you're feeling it. But let's give a listen to what he had to say yesterday. Cut number one. President Biden has arrived in Lithuania for the NATO summit. And he doesn't know where he's going. He's looking around. And if you're watching on the Salem news channel, you can see it. Whoever is the president of Lithuania is taller. Now he's turning around and wants to go back on the plane. Then he shakes hand and he moves forward. OK, cut number two. President Biden, Jan Stoltenberg, who is the leader of NATO and has been since I was seven. Keep going. Cut number two. Mr. President, it's great to have you here at the NATO summit. It's good to be here and thank you for continuing to deliver. I am, as I've made no mistake, not at all surprised. I've been telling the fact that I think it's really important at this critical moment in the whole NATO issue that you continue to lead NATO. You're trusted. No one knows the situation that we're facing better than you do. And this historic moment, the adding of Finland and Sweden to NATO is consequential. And your leadership really matters. And we agree on the language that we've proposed. OK, he's really sold on this Finland and Sweden deal. He's got that committed to memory. Finland and Sweden are coming in. Cut number three. This is consequential. And your leadership really matters. And we agree on the language that you proposed relative to the future of Ukraine being able to join NATO. And we're looking forward to continuing to unite NATO. They've heard me say, my American president heard me say many times, I still think that President Putin thinks the way he succeeds is to break NATO. Not going to do that, especially when you listen to us. So thank you for the moment. I am reminded of A .T., my beloved grandfather lived 101 years old on his own wheels in his own house. And I love the guy so much, Gramps. And he was a fireman, so of course I looked up to him like a giant when I was three or four. But A .T., as he got older, was always a go get him kind of guy. Didn't really, not very good on the details. Where are you? Are you at Yale? Are you at Columbus? You go to Ohio State? Not real long on the details, but great on the love, right? That's what grandparents after A .T. do. Not long on the details. They're at the baseball game. They're not sure if you're supposed to steal second or not. They're not even sure if it's a baseball game, but they're there and they're cheering for you. And Grandpa Joe is just great. He's there for Jan Stoltenberg. But it gets a little bit worrisome when he tells the Lithuanian president cut number four. Our pledge to to be with you has not waited. It didn't take us long to get thousands of troops here to want Russia invaded the second time. So we'll be able to be assured that you're going to have all that you need. If you have sector defenses today, you can send him along. It's all kidding aside. All kidding aside, that's after he jokes about Russia invading Lithuania.

Judge Amul Thapar Reveals His Surprising Sports Allegiance

"Because Amul Judge Kapar, in his brand new and terrific book, The People's Justice, cites the Judith French Counsel in the Cleveland voucher's case, used to get psyched up using this music. Good morning, Judge. Welcome to the Hugh Hewitt Show. Good morning. Can you hear me okay? I can. It's great to see you. Welcome. Glad you could do the video, Judge. Judge, I wanna begin by telling people a little bit about you, if they don't know much about you. You've been shortlisted for the Supreme Court twice. You're still a young man. I expect that to happen again. Born in Michigan, and your father wisely moved you to Ohio at a young age. I hope you grew up cheering for the Buckeyes and the Browns. Is that the case, Judge? You know, I'm not anti -Browns like you are anti -Bangles, but Joe Burrow and the Bengals living down by Cincinnati, it doesn't get much better than that. And so when the Bengals are out of it, I cheer for the Browns. I like them much better than those teams out east. And the cardiac kids were fun to watch as a kid, and Brian Sipe, and Bernie Kosar. But the Bengals are at least making it to the Super Bowl view, and this year we get to open and close with you. That's half a wrong answer, but let me press you, because Urban Meyer's listening right now, Judge. Were you a Buckeyes fan? Because you went to the Ohio State Law School for one year, then you transferred out to Bolt. Are you a Buckeyes fan, or did you root for that team up north? You know, my dad's a Michigan guy. I started with Michigan, but once I went to Columbus, it's infectious.

The One Must-Have Skill for Successful Podcasting

"What is the skill set that you absolutely must have if you're going to be a podcaster who builds an audience, it doesn't happen overnight. It's an incremental addition, somebody does word about, hey, have you listened to Buckeye talk or if you're in Alabama fan? Have you listened to college football survivor show? If you're an NFL fan, I think and you want to know about the brands if you're from ESPN, you got to listen to Mary Kay and Dan and Ashley. They know what they're talking about. So what's the skill set? Mary Kay has got 30, what's she done this for 25 years with the browns? You can't replace that. You can't make that up. No. So I do think the depth of knowledge is a requirement. I don't mind if I'm listening to people and I do this. I'm wrong. I'm wrong. But I still feel like I always know what I'm talking about. I just within that might be wrong about a prediction, wrong about how I view the game, but you can tell when people don't really have a grasp of the subject. So if you don't have a grasp of the subject, it is hard to podcast about that. Doesn't mean you're always right. So that's one. Really the main thing for me is framing that you are talking about a thing that everybody talks about. But you frame it in a way that either people haven't thought of, your audience doesn't have time to dive into it that deeply because for them it's a hobby for you at your job. The framing and synthesizing information. But as we're talking about the Ohio State defense, but we're going to frame it in a way that you haven't thought of that we've done research about. And then the two other things are confidence. They can tell if you're not confident. You have to believe in yourself. But then I also think within that, you have to be self deprecating. And you have to make fun of yourself along the way, but you have to be rock solid in your beliefs. Because it is no fun to come and listen to somebody who's like, well, I don't know, maybe say what you think. What's wrong, admit it? Admit when you're wrong and then come back and be strong with your next opinion and believe it, don't be fake about it. Know what you're talking about, but then if you said, hey I thought they were going to lose, but they won. In 2019, I predicted Ohio State was going to go 9 and three. They went 12 and O and made the college football playoff. People still refer to me as night and three Doug. When they sent me questions on and I own it, man. I own it. Oh, I

The Surprising Success of a Niche College Football Podcast

"Marie's has worked across three platforms now. Orange and brown talk where he contributes. Buckeye talk where he hosts and drives the bus and has two colleagues who are basically co hosts like I was for the debates. And then shahan Jay araja is his co host with the college football survivor show. How is that taken off, Doug, by the way? I listened that during college football season, I don't listen to it when it's off season. How is it do off season? Okay, so it is interesting. There is a part of this, like local is sort of easier sometimes to latch on to, right? You think, oh, there's a bigger audience with a national show, but local people want their thing. And so if you're giving somebody all a high state, I love Ohio State. I want to Ohio State 5 days a week, boom, here we are. When we're doing a broader, we're doing a bunch of teams. And if you're in a high estate fan, it's like, hey, we're talking about Utah a lot today. We think it's an interesting topic. We think it's all connected, but it's not Ohio State. It is a little bit of a harder sell. So I'm happy with it, but we're still trying to get more traction, but we understand that it's just a different thing. Especially the podcast world hue, right? All these little niches, you can get your little thing and I think that's probably the most attractive thing about podcasting. It's not the breadth. It's the specificity that really attracts people.

Revolutionize Your Podcast With Text Messaging Subscription Model

"Oh, one of the things I've completely ripped off from you. And in fact, I believe every Salem host will be ripping off in this you introduced me to the text messaging and we don't charge for it because people already subscribed to it. But that is your rants what I call ransom rambles because they're not always rant. That is a brilliant stroke. And I believe every successful podcaster will move to that model of tech subscribers because they add a lot of value. You want to explain how you came up with that or was that something Cleveland dot com came up with? Yeah, so it's a company that was sort of created through our company at advanced local. And it's called subtext and it's a way we call it sort of a podcast in your pocket that it is a tech subscription that you can send texts out that people get in their phone and it's just like a text from a friend. It shows up that way. Hey, it's Doug. Here's the thing I think. So we send news and analysis about Ohio State football to people. And we do it a couple of times a day. But the other thing that we've really fallen into is we send surveys to people. What are you thinking about these topics that are happening in Ohio State football? And then we solicit questions that we answer on the podcast sometimes. And we, as you said, we've fallen into this thing we call rants where it's not a question. It's like, what's firing you up right now? So send me your rant, and then I will read it on the podcast, and I will then respond to it myself. So it's a way to stay connected to people, to me, if you listen to a podcast and you like a podcast host, then you don't mind getting a couple of texts from them during the day when you're not listening to the show. You actually would enjoy it. You want their expertise, you want their personality right in your phone, and we charge a couple bucks a month, but they're the producers for our podcast, right? They send ideas. They send questions. They send rants. They answer surveys. There are focus group and it's sort of the level of die hards that want the podcast, but also kind of want the podcast even when they're not listening to it. I

Ohio Senate Candidate Bernie Moreno Talks Anti-Americanism

"Story is amazing. I mean, so you've come here, you built something from nothing. And so Bernie it must drive you nuts when you hear some of these activists at Ohio State university or any of these schools say that we're racist. We're an awful country CRT. I mean, you came here. You had to build something from absolute nothing. Talk about this cancer, this virus of anti American ism that is spreading throughout our country. It's the most dangerous thing we're facing Charlie because the reality is everybody in America has the incredible privilege of being in this country. This is the true privilege as being American. And this is the greatest country on earth, even with our problems today. We're better than the next 5 countries combined. And we've always been a great country. We've been a Beacon of hope for the whole world. And what the left, the radical left, and the media, especially in universities, is teaching our kids that there's something fundamentally wrong with the country. When the reality, there's fundamentally something wrong with them. You know, here's the deal. You're not seeing Americans fleeing the country going to Mexico and Mexico asking us to put up a wall. It's the other way around. We have millions of people that want to come to this country, black people, Hispanics, now Chinese nationals. This is a great country, but we have to control who comes here in an orderly fashion. And that shouldn't be controversial, Charlie. That's just common sense.

"The central pylon rotates, causing the arms to spin or the centrifugal force raised the gondola's high off the ground. While this happens, the central pylon begins to sway and massive arcs, bring the gondolas and those thrill seekers strapped within. To hide more than 20 meters from the ground. KMG boasted this ride requires only three people to assemble. And can be ready in just three hours. The ride had been in operation for 9 hours that day. Onlookers watched with fascination as the fireball started up. The arms reaching their top spin and the pendulum making greater and greater arcs. Counting down the thrilling moments until they would have their chance to defy gravity. Then came the terrible sound of tearing metal. Here is the actual sound of the accident. Onlookers described pace as something flying off the joint where one of the gondolas connected to the arms. Here is eyewitness, Julian Bellinger, describing what he saw to ABC News. So on the ground, it was me and my Friends, we were just recording each other on SnapChat and we had deleted the video because we heard commotion on the on the ride. And it was people on the ride, like slow it down, it's too fast, and all this. So people on the ground beside me and in front of me in line because I was about to get on the ride. They all were like, wow, wow, wow, slow down slow down, and all that. So the people that were working it had pressed the emergency brake and in the video, you see it go up, and then when it came back down, a piece had felt. So then that's when I had followed it up, and then when I just seen the people fall out, I turned my head and I just, I couldn't watch it. People were running away, crying. You just don't expect to see stuff like that, especially at the fair here. Britney mail and her sister Kylie, who were next in line to ride the fireball describe what they saw. The ride was going as normal and then all of a sudden you see people flying out. And then the guy hit the emergency stop button, which then made the seat fly off and people flew off as well. It was likely that the sudden jolt of the stop button and rapid loss of velocity that caused the gondola the Tyler Gerald was riding on to break completely free from the arm. While the pendulum was still on an upward swing. The momentum through them higher still into the air and flung them far from the ride itself. The incident was filmed and it is horrifying to see the gondola break free from the ride and bodies flung in all directions. It's all I remember is hearing the loud crash of the car snapping off the ride and then just people screaming and screaming and screaming to stop stop stop. We're thinking of those killed and hurt and that terrible accident at the Ohio State fair. And such a scary moment for all the family there need a fear that a lot of us have attended over the years and there's so many of these fears that are still going on across the country. Yeah, this was the first day of the Ohio State fair when that popular fireball ride broke apart in midair. You see it right there. At least one person was killed as Robin said 7 others injured this morning all rise at their house state fair are shut down. Four riders received serious injuries that saw them hospitalized for weeks. Casia Lewis did not even regain consciousness for several weeks after the incident. On the ground, several people were injured when debris from the ride rained down upon the crowd. Kaja Lewis did regain consciousness. However, her boyfriend who was riding alongside her. Tyler Gerald did not. Along with the tragic loss of Tyler's life, there were 7 people injured. 5 of them seriously. 8 victims of this disaster was enough to prompt the Ohio State fair organizers to shut down all amusement rides for the remainder of the 2017 show. Immediately investigations began to determine the cause of the tragedy. And to answer that all consuming question who's to blame. Initially, the authorities from the board of agriculture expressed deep regret for the victims and their families. Along with some bewilderment that struck summer's tone deaf under the circumstances. Inspections have been conducted multiple times within the week, leading up to the state fair opening. Including one completed that very morning. No safety issues were flagged at any point. The company that owned the ride, amusements of America, made their own inspection and logbooks open to investigators. They had not found any problems in the years they had been responsible for the fireball ride. Eventually, investigators worked their way back to the original Dutch manufacturer. KMG after reviewing the findings of the onsite investigators, they communicated that excessive corrosion on the interior of the gondola support beam had made the ride unstable. This was something that would have occurred over the course of many years. And something that would have left no visible signs to most safety inspections. Only a complete dismantling of every component would have revealed such a flaw. And surely it's not reasonable to expect such an expensive and time consuming process every time an inspection was required. After reviewing it all, county prosecutor Ronald Bryant said there's no evidence of previous history of failure, nor he said, is there any evidence that signs of this particular failure were noticed by any of the owners, inspectors or operators of this ride prior to the actual failure. And prosecutor O'Brien said just failing to perceive.

All right, Let's jump back into it, Shall we? Let's go to Carl. You're on 16. W T. V and Good morning. Good morning, Bob. Do you know the origin of the designation? The Ohio State I do not actually. Okay? Uh, former President Jennings. I believe it was Former President Jennings decided when he took over. Back in the nineties. I think that, uh, there's you know, Oklahoma State University, etcetera. And he decided this was the Ohio State University. I met the man, very, very handsome guy personable. Nice, nice fellow and met him half a dozen times down south campus. So it was President Jennings, who introduced the okay. I was unaware of that. So I know I appreciate that. Okay? Um The next topic. I wanted to get to little sideshow off of that. Oh, back some years ago when I was married to my former wife. Good person. I'm not knocking but very stubborn. Sure, and, uh, I met her. Professor. She has after being grad school for a couple of years. She picked a professor. Well, this this guy Bill Doctor Bill. "Ohio State had offensively with with the new quarterback, and I'm like, Oh, you know, it comes just shove them and those two teams are playing. First of all, It's gonna be a great game. But I've got to go with those offensive playmakers right this second. Heather. I want new blood in college football. I think it needs a shot in the arm. That's one of the reasons why I like college football playoff expansion data will eventually happen. But who who, realistically? Help their chances that much. Was it a UCLA? It was, was it Cincinnati? It was, You know, what are these nontraditional college football playoff teams had a good weekend. Well, I think I mean, you nailed two of them. Look, I put Cincinnati number four this week because I'm sorry. I'm sorry, Oklahoma. I'm doing about what I saw, right this skinny minute on Saturday, and since now he's one of the few teams that went out there and took care of business against the team that they should have. And Desmond Ritter was spectacular. He threw me through four. Four touchdowns and rushed for another. Um, you know, they've got a chance to be undefeated going into Notre Dame and guys. We talk about how North Carolina impact Clemson schedule. Oh, my God. The Hoosiers. I mean, how embarrassing Like, just just in Denia actually in Denia Hoosiers If you saw the misspelling of the jerseys, yes. Yes. Yes, it was. It was hard to miss that. But they, you know, I thought that going on the road back to back for Cincinnati and beating Indiana and Notre Dame Had a realistic chance to get them in the committee's conversation. Now, I don't think going on their own being Indiana is going to do much for them at this point, but going on the road and beating Notre Dame can But the point is they they did a great job and they took care of business. And they looked like the Cincinnati that we thought they were going to look like I Washington UCL again last night from start to finish and man That immune? You knew Chip Kelly was going to put it together At some point. The man is a good coach. And it was just still a bit of a question, though, as if this year is it, and I think it's still kind of a question. Let's see him do it for the next you know, 11 12 weeks or what? It might be, but man, they they looked good. They had playmakers. They played discipline. And they really beat and outcoached else. You soundly so I thought they played very well on a day when Oregon showed they had some questions. No, no, I agree that Heather Dennis joining US college football playoff Reporter. Be interesting to see with U C. L A. And I mean else you we've seen, you know, without Joe Brady and Joe Burrow, which is not the same program, so we'll see Just how good they are moving forward. But you're right. We can only go on what we've seen in U C l A look Pretty damn good. I want to circle back quickly. Two years Cincinnati observation. I agree with you, and starting on a higher plane is good, because you have less to go to get into that Top four. But your point about Indiana is one that I made earlier is that This looks like a playoff schedule, where a group of five things have to align. You not only have to start top 10 or top 15, but you also have to have meat on the bone on the schedule. They got Indiana and Notre Dame. The problem is they're reliant on those two teams to be good. And if Indiana is like a 500 team or an eight and 14, and they go on the road and also beat Notre Dame I get it, Heather, But we've seen what the committee does with strength of schedule with a group of five teams. How confident would you be that if they went out, they they should feel pretty good about their standing. Would be confident that they would be in the conversation because you would figure they're playing a ranked team in the American Athletic Conference championship. Game two right And that's part of the piece of the puzzle is what does the committee view that? How do they view that league? Right? We always know that they say we don't judge conferences. We ranked teams. But you know what they think of the conference by how many he was the rank, you know. So we've seen that with the SEC. Time and time again, So I'm certainly not going to say that if they go undefeated there in because they be Indiana and Notre Dame? No, thank you, right. But how do they look? During all these games can get another ranked opponent and to your point how to Indiana and Notre Dame finished in the CF piece Top 25. What happens in all the other power five conferences. Right, Heather last quick question for you. College football playoff this committee. This working group supposed to get back together? What in late September is that what's the next step for all of this? Yep. September 28. So any fans of college football who are listening to this hoping for some grand resolution coming out of Rosemont, Illinois, in your big 10 offices later this month are going to be severely disappointed because multiple sources are telling me that the president might not even vote on expansion. At this point. I mean, things have just gone so many Different directions. There's a bunch of political, you know, moves involved in this now, with the Oklahoma and Texas going to the he so I think it's inevitable. The playoff is going to expand at some point, but I think that the door on it happening before the end of this 12 year contract is closing quickly. And if that's going to be the case, you know who's going to be hurt by that the alliance because the Pac 12 in the A. C C had horrifically bad opening weekends is not going to get any better, but I'll ask. That's what they want to do. Heather Dennis, Thank you so much. We appreciate the time, all right. You bet. Thanks, guys. There it is. Heather Dinner joining us in a good year hotline Brought to you by Goodyear with every mile on the road to greatness. Goodyear more driven. We continue to drive this college football bus and what we liked out of the weekend, including one upset. No one has given some love to. We will do it. Next on ESPN Radio. "Game from justin fields and then adds more to it why we have these conversations because he mentioned the fact that he had they had really one padded practice before that game so timing and rhythm you know is not going to be there so that made that even more impressive to me you know. I thought it was very impressive. Performance because always in wanna look at prospects where they're going through their worst moments. Because i want to see the level of resilience and toughness today bounce back do they. Shower is at the end freedom. And i think coming off the heels of that spectacular performance against clemson missing most of the preparation week due to the injury in ensuring implant alabama. I thought it was a gritty. Gutsy performance wasn't best performance. But i think there were some some flashes that you can kinda cling to the suggest he's going to be an outstanding the next lump no doubt do wanna remind everybody we are going to have our three sixty series coming up soon which this year will be on three players. "Voting. Stands out to me. Is his accuracy Incredibly accurate short Indeed. I love the deep accuracy shown. I mean, he makes the difficult prose look easy, and he's probably got four or five throws a game. It's just they blow you away. I mean to your jaw hits the floor and he makes him look easy, and it makes him look effortless, and he also has a great feel for ball placement. That's the biggest thing with him. A lot of the Alabama Yards come after catch because he puts it in the perfect spot. The receivers never slow their mo mentum, so they're full speed running through the catch. Next thing you know, a receiver. With all the momentum in the world and a full head of steam, they're difficult to bring down in the open field. So this passing attack has taken flight in large part due to Mack Jones is understanding his ball placement and his ability to push the ball downfield off play action because they have a very good rushing attack as well. Have a great offensive line in front of them. And some of the best receivers in the country, including the best in Devante Smith testy back to you. All right, Shaun, Greg. Thank you very much. Sean and Greg will have our call coming up. Kick off is just over 30 minutes away. Let's go inside the defensive keys against each quarterback That's brought to you by Liberty Mutual Insurance. Liberty Mutual customizes your coverage. So you on Lee pay for what you need. Trevor, Ohio State's defense against Alabama's Mack Jones. Don't be an open book, the skies what the coverage will be What the blitz looks will be. Pre snap so that Mack Jones can't sit back there and read your playbook and nowhere to go before the ball is even stepped. He'll torture sometimes, but you've got to make sure that you're in position Tau create a mistake from time to time. Alabama against Justin Fields. Alabama against Justin Fields. They've got to keep him from getting out and running, causing trouble. What they've got to do is rush him and discipline rush late to keep it from breaking out. But then they've also got to put pressure on him just in fields. His production goes down far more than other quarterbacks when he's pressured in the pocket, so you can't just keep him in the pocket. You've got a pressure him when he gets there. One of the things that that will do for the Obama defense is that fields tends to look at one receiver. He tends to not come off of that receiver to the second look when he's under pressure if he's in the pocket, and they can do that, That's the best way to stop Justin Fields, who overcame a hard hit to the ribs and the first half semi final game, six touchdown passes a career high and Ohio State record fields and Ohio State against number one Alabama as we count down to kick off and coming up on college football live Which players on the field tonight will we see on Sundays? "You on a wild card weekend. Can you set up for this afternoon's game? Tonight's game Right now, The Titans are leading the Ravens, 10 Nothing. And tomorrow is the college football playoff. Between Ohio State and Alabama. ESPN Radio's presented by progressive Insurance and all guests appear via the Good Year hotline. So right now in the NFL, the Titans again lead the Ravens. 10 Nothing 10 minutes to go. In the second quarter. But tomorrow night we've got a good one. As college football is going to come new clothes, which is sad, but, hey, we made it right. So it's been kind of a weird week J. In terms of Ohio State in Alabama. There were kind of rumors or things circulating that maybe the game is going to get postponed because of covert issues with the Ohio State in Justin Fields health, you don't know if Alabama's going to get the receiver back. There's been a lot of ifs. However, The game is going to go on his plan, and it is tomorrow night. On. We're going to find out who's going to raise the trophy. Find out tomorrow night because football playoff national championship presented by 18 T coverage begins at 7 P.m. eastern on ESPN radio and the ESPN app. What do you like in this one? Jay? It should be interesting because I expect to shoot out and that's all. Obviously on the foundational belief that Justin Fields will be healthy enough. His ribs are good. And he's able to be the mobile productive with his arm quarterback Do we saw against Clemson? I mean, a lot of people counting this guy out. He was on a free fall on the draft board. Did you take a look at Todd McShay is where he was to now where he's moved up. Simply off of that game versus Clemson. Has a lot of people believing me included I was covering that came with a C C network with the focus on Clemson and assuming that they'd be moving on in Miami and I would not be here next to you. I would be down there covering the national championship. That was not the case in this game. I look at what Alabama was able to do against Notre Dame, and that was essentially toy with them. Alabama was able to run the football Nagy Harris, who finished fifth in the Heisman, voting back Jones and Devante Smith. Obviously, the chemistry between those two really reared its ugly head versus Notre Dame is the Vontae Smith scored three touchdowns, setting a Rose Bowl record. In this game against Ohio State. Ohio State is a second best rushing defense in college football. So to me. I'd like to see them. Just go all in on saying, Hey, we're gonna try and stop the run. Take it to the air Mack Jones. Obviously, that's a strength. But can there be some mistake's made their the secondary from Ohio State is questionable. But, Shawn, wait is back there. Can he get one? And they steal a few there. Can they make some mistakes when they're going to the air that much? Because run games? Not working. That may have to be a focus, but ultimately the analysis with this one starts with can Justin Fields be healthy enough to be productive? Is what you have to do against Alabama's put up points early on, You have to show that you can score with him. You have to play that game pressure early. Notre Dame got close to applying game pressure. But then he and book had to turn over in the third quarter, and it was cruise control from there. Damn. It needs to feel like they're being tested throughout this game. Then you hope for mistakes, But this game is going to be one in the forties, and Ohio State has to come to grips with that, no matter what their defense does. Dan was gonna find 40. They're averaging about 50. So can your offense meet the challenge there? Notre Dame was able to despite all I said, hold Alabama to a season low 31 points. We still have the firepower offense. They don't have a quarterback good enough to match Mack Jones play for play Justin Fields is that guy? So can their defense match with Notre Dame did despite the fact that I said Alabama at all this success Can they meet that mark that standard Ohio State's defensive with Notre Dame did and then go score with a better quarterback in a better offense? I think it should be a great game. I think it's gonna go one possession finish. All right, we will find out. This is game Dan, ESPN radio and on your ESPN app. We are seeing Jordan Cornett, former quarterback for the Buckeyes. Cardale. Jones was on game day yesterday on ESPN radio, and he said he had Justin Fields might be hurt, but it seems like everyone's hurt on both teams. Here's Cardale Jones. Help center. Not he's going. He's going to a hospital, but I've seen the wind behind center so that I can imagine him going into the game. There's no way that he's not going to play in their game. And you don't think about how what percentage you have. You've got onto injuries. But guess what? Attend the other guys that you planned? What about what they got some type of nagging injury as well. No one will be 100% going into this game to everybody's dealing with something, so I'm pretty sure he's not gonna let that hinder him or even play a part in his decision of playing this game at the national championship game, got their little online and you got all summer to recover. No doubt about it. So that was Cardale Jones, former quarterback for the Buckeyes, and so he knows that Buckeyes program really well, in fact, Jane I talked to Cardale Jones. What was that two weeks two weeks now, and he had had dinner with Urban Meyer the night before, Like he's very plugged in what was going on while he was in college, and he says, Oh, issues secondary. Gonna do Okay against Alabama, Take a listen. Think it's going to be a challenge. I mean, this is a great offense by Alabama, but we also have a pretty good secondary starting to come around. You know, we started a little bit in the beginning, but I think they're starting to find a group of next week spot and this is definitely the top challenge of the year. Kind of shut down, all of them, not just passing the fact but their offense as well. Okay, So that was Cardale Jones, former quarterback for the Buckeyes a little more sound for you. Here. Let's talk Go to the Alabama side. Here's Mel Kiper Jr yesterday, saying album, Alabama's offensive line could be a little shaky against Ohio State's defense of line. Take a Listen about Kiper Jr. The Ohio State Front, four dominated and really got after not over. The quarterback was disruptive in the backfield against the run, So I thought the offensive after Clemson was overmatched. Alabama's offensive line doesn't have landed Dickerson but the best offensive line in college football still really good. The key. There's going to be Me pressure up front bothers quarterbacks in the middle of field, disruptive them along the interior. That's Tommy Toki I and Haskell Garrett against that new center there was in for a landing Dickerson and held up against you against Notre Dame. But will he hold up? Chris owns against Toby, I and Garrett. Yeah, It's an interesting point there from Mel, except for the fact that I'm glad he did mention the cabbie out that Alabama's even without Patterson is still the best offensive line in the country. And that was a question with Clemson was the The resistance it could provide in the offensive line versus Ohio State. It will be a markedly different challenge, but because I think Ohio State is built to be to stop the run, even against a talent like nausea, Harris and Alabama's run game It then becomes yet to fold. Can you then put pressure on Mack Jones, where he's seeing guys in his face when throwing a football? It's gonna be a big time challenge. Because Alabama is he lied up front. But if there's going to be a place where there can be some challenge to try and mitigate the distance between these two, it's understanding. It's gonna be a shootout..

"My name is John Marks and way have what a great football weekend but the weekend goes into Monday as we have a college football national championship game. Ohio State Alabama. And the Crimson Tide or eight point favorites. Are we giving Ohio State a real shot to win this game to discuss that and more is John Hayes, John C. Supervising producer for the athletic college football? Formerly with the Paul Find. Bomb show is the executive producer. Longtime executive producer. What is up, Mr Hayes? How are you? John. It's good to talk to me. I'm doing great. You said it. This this weekend of football is is awesome. It's been a tough call for everybody, but I feel like it's a good time to celebrate this for good three days for sure. All right, So John are people overlooking Ohio State? It's tufted. It's tough to really get a good barometer. Right now. For me. There was some concern about Justin Fields and that injury then you had the code would scare are you overlooking Ohio State? No, I'm not. And I think people are and I think as soon as I assume is this line was set when the national championship game came to fruition, and Ohio State took down clamps in the dog, which, by the way I had out right in that game is well, um, I said to myself. Ohio State's being being overlooked. It was. It was an easy line TOC set Obama always favored in the national championship game again. Alabama Nick Saban the whole nine yards with it with this football team, John and for me on the field. I have no issue whatsoever with Ohio State. You started to mention of things that are that are also feel that concerned me is Justin feels 100% if he is 100%. He's the best quarterback in this football game, and we know how important that position is in this sport. And for me. I like Ohio State tomorrow night. I like the points. This team does it for me, and I think what happened because of the cancelation during the season. Ohio State playing six games Not against great competition. Nobody really got a full picture of who this team exactly is Until that game against Clemson, and by the way, the number one consent distress pick Trevor Lawrence, who was ineffective against the Buckeyes defense got outplayed, right Justin Field, So I grew through the take away from me. And the most impressive thing of the two games was Ohio State and Justin Fields. The overreaction of Oh, I don't know if he should be the number two quarterback drafted and, you know, drafted this year. I don't know how good he is, too. Wow. Maybe he should be taken over Trevor Laurence, Right. Like how much? How much of it. What's the difference between Mac Jones and Justin Fields in your mind as far as the quarterback? You know, first and foremost is about a dual threat capability. It's when things break down backfield for Justin feels he's able to get outside the pocket to make things happen with his legs. And as as you've seen, he's not like your typical dual threat college football quarterback that that maybe is an athlete who struggles little bit thrown the ball downfield. He put that on this play again. Tension as well, not Jones. On the other hand, he's somebody that has been in Nick's Savings program for years. Never played. Studying. Really reminds me of John is Greg McElroy. A guy that can do wonders in the Nick Saban coach football team because you've got Running back nausea Harris in the backfield. You've got two guys on the outside in Parker and and waddle that can and Smith that can really get the job done. And for me, just just just put it this way. Really, When you think about Back Jones. He's the wrong guy at that Heisman ceremony on Lee reason why he was at that Heisman ceremonies because the pieces that he had around them in Alabama and because Justin Fields only got to play six games. You should've been the guy at the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Yeah, I agree. Jalen Water. What's the status? It's mind games to me like when I first saw this announced Jalen Model could be available for the national championship game. I think Nick's David, he's doing it again. Not good on the field. He knows how to play mind games off the field. This is going to be a game time decision. Nobody really knows Unless you're inside that program. He's clearly going to be warming up before the football game. If he looks good, I wouldn't be surprised. You get some rest out on the field, but it's just so hard. It really is so hard to come back from an injury that quickly and really show out in the national championship game, But it can be done and To me. Honestly, I think people are making a little too much about his return to the game. I think Alabama with her without Jalen model is pretty much really the same football team. Yeah. John Hayes on air. That's how you can follow him on Twitter. And his name is John Hayes is the supervising producer for the athletic college football. All right, So this next saving team I think I was just program with with with Nick. That he didn't need to have a high powered offense with a great quarterback. He needed the offense that can move the ball that can score. But his defense was kind of his calling card. This team almost feels the exact opposite of what I'm used to, with Nick saving right. You're exactly right. And by the way, it's not by accident. That this team is this way, I think As Nick Saban. You look back to his team losing in the national championship game against Davos, Sweeney and Clemson and all the sudden high flying offense is becoming the norm in college. I used to make fun of the big 12..

"Yeah. And you Hyo ST Columbus. This is something we've been, you know, discussing a lot, and I talked to Shelly Mire early her this this season and She said that she could never imagine urban taking an NFL job, she says. We're college football people. She says that he wouldn't be able to handle the control factor and Way he motivate players at the collegiate level is, you know he really influence sent on and off the field in that motivation factor is he really wants to develop them long term in the NFL. It's a different culture. There is a business. So Shelly had doubts. But this was back in October. When I spoke with her. I do know they like Florida. I did ask him about the Texas job. I think Ohio isn't really concerned about that one. I think that he's got good roots here, Shelley says. They're very happy and he's healthy and he's doing a great job in TV. But, yeah, it could be a real possibility. Now, since they're giving him an offer, he may not be able to refuse. But you know he can hold his own coaching staff and his son in law and his grandsons are in Columbus because he's coaching for The Ohio State quarterback Cory Dennis. And if you could bring family with him, his son is training under Luke Fickell in Cincinnati. He could build. It is a little family unit on his own coaching staff in Florida, So I mean, that'd be interesting, but Do you know that he's certainly called Columbus and Florida home? Yeah, it's it's really important. I owe a lot of people from covering The NFL. Lot of people have a ton of respect for Ryan Day, and a lot of people thought that you know, at some point, he might end up being an NFL. Head coach, but he's done a tremendous job off there. There's the old adage that you never want to be the guy replacing the guy. It's it's cool to see Ryan Day be able You pick up where urban Meyer left off with this program and take it to you and keep it at a national championship level. Yeah. You know, Harry Combs spoke about this earlier this week, and he said that right from day one. They knew that Ryan Davis special He was calling from really creative place. Great offensive mind, and we saw some of that nicklinson game of some trickery. He pulled out of his hat, and I think we'll definitely see that in the Alabama game, but his fellow coaches that are greatly admired really respected him, and they had full confidence that he was their God. He does have NFL experience, and he said he made it very clear You were very happy. And Columbus is building such a great team of his own. Now. I mean, he had one of the top recruiting classes and There's long term potential here, and he is really doing well, Columbus. He loved it here, so I think that Ryan Day will stay here, you know. Or wild, but you know, he he would be great in the NFL, but I know that he's doing a really great thing. He was handed a You know a top program. He doesn't take that lightly, and he's been doing a phenomenal job. What do you think is the key? If if Ohio State is going to beat Alabama what has to happen? Yeah, You know, everyone's saying there's gonna be a shoot out and there's two great offenses and the defense. Is there actually something that are more of a weaker point for both of these teams. I think that it's going to be one of the line of scrimmage. You know, there are concerns with our secondary, so they're gonna have to rely on the guys up front and to really pressure Mack Jones, But he's got weapons you know, and his staff they run real, so I think that That is going to come down to. I think probably Justin feel that he's gonna have to play his best game. And in the hospital is gonna have to put themselves in order for a hostage to win this one. But it Z in Alabama's control. I think that is upto out of state to stop them. Are you Are you covering this game or you covering it from afar? Yeah, I had a flight for today. But you know the criticism the pandemic, they lowered it. We had three people on our team going and they had a lower it to do so And at the last flight out so Yeah, I'm going to cover it virtually this year and pretty bummed about that. But I'll husband wife hits and it'll be fun. Yeah, I mean, but I mean, you have been on the sideline for some pretty big moment so far this year, though, So that's that's a super good thing. I I appreciate you being available. This was a lot of fun. Ah, good luck on on Monday night, it'll be a very interesting game. Thank you. I appreciate it. Go bug that is Stephanie OD. Follow her on Twitter it Steph OD, and she covers Ohio State, and she does a great job doing it. So see, even as the Alabama grad Concave some space to Ohio State. I'm telling you All right. They manhandled Clemson. It's not usual that you see a matchup with the Clinton team, and they're not the most athletic team that they're not the most physical team. In Ohio State, just Dog, walk them. As the Alabama fan. I was sitting there. Watch the game like Oh, no. These boys are ready. They are ready to play. So I went back and I looked at the Big 10 title game. Then versus Northwestern. Northwestern did some very Northwestern's a really good defense. They've got guys that are gonna go in the first round. Think Alabama has more talent. Defensively, and I would imagine that Nick's even is going to take some of the things that he learned. From watching the Big 10 championship tape..

It's comes from Matt Matt km sir. Mr. President, sir. What are you go? Thank you, sir. Mr. President or what is your New Year's resolution is the first question and what do you plan to accomplish in your second term after you find the votes in Georgia? Well, that's two questions with them both very powerful. So we will answer them. New Year's resolution was to finally do something about these very sort of old-fashioned offensive. Incest laws that wage in this country. We have to we have to get sort of modern and and and stop thinking in the past on certain things and as far as plans for a second term firing squads for Democrats. If you can bring powerfully back to life either the great Jeff Epstein or the great Sir Jeff Epstein or the gray Fred Trump, which would it be and why well, that is a good question. But obviously the choice would be the great Fred Trump. So if you listen to the episode was voted best offer that person because Jeffrey Epstein Sir, Jeffrey Epstein apparently is Breathing Trump's clean air. And so why would I bring him back if he's already alive according to the great Glenwood? So what I would say is we would bring back very powerfully the great Fred Trump who would be so proud to see how strongly I've done. All right. So since Sir Jeffrey Epstein is possibly alive you would bring back your father. So then you would have both alive and can you imagine can you imagine what we would do all three of us together? It would be like Reinventing the Rat Pack. there really would be you would just need you would need an African-American part of your rat pack. Who would it be Herman Cain's dead body. Ohio State Radha, Clemson, 49 28 Fields played most of the game in pain as he took a helmet to his lower back and ribs. But I didn't exactly know the extent of his injuries. They didn't. They didn't really tell me anything. I took like a shot or two, and then it's in on just this ran back out there, but I mean, it's pretty much my whole rights for. "I watched the clips of brian. Kelly press conference and he looked like he was exact exasperated. And i don't know if you're a notre dame fan. How do you feel about this. Because he's i mean he's a really really good coach. We do these top. Twenty five lists every year and brian. Kelly definitely should be in the top five and they have really good players. But i don't know and he's right alabama's done this to almost everybody. They actually didn't do it. The florida but you know was there were still you know it's like we'll see if ohio state gets closer. So let's let's fill people in on the quotes if they didn't see them after the game not surprisingly. Maybe he was surprised. I don't know he was asked a lot about. How does the here how frustrating the question was how frustrated is. How frustrating is it to get to a playoff again lose by this margin the margin not the issue. Losing his losing. I don't know really. What the inferences. This football team battled and they made more plays they being alabama made a few more. Plays on the perimeter. I'm not sure really what the question is when you lose football games you know. There's a few more plays jeff to make. We had the opportunity. You watch the game. I watched the game <hes>. So everybody needs to continue to carry this narrative that not not good enough. Look at the scores of the games. The albums played all year. And i think when you start changing the narrative little bit then somebody asks as you look at it. You feel like the program has gotten a lot closer. What's the next step. You feel like you guys could take need to take i. I don't really wanna continue to go down this path. We're going to keep getting here okay. And we're gonna keep banging at it and you guys watched the game in you. They had the college football player of the year. Who made some dynamic place. We battled. We were right there. So we're going to keep getting back here. And i'm sorry i don't like it or the national media doesn't like it but we're going to go back to work we're gonna keep recruiting. We're going to put ourselves back in this position again <hes>. I mean i know. He's got to defend the program. And you know what's he going to say like. Oh yeah we're we're we've got a ways to go <hes>. But you're right like if you're ordering fan who who still believes deep down the program. That should win the national championship. How do you feel about your coach. Basically coming on saying he's basically trying to say yeah. We don't have a devante smith. We don't have nausea harris. But we were good enough that like if we caught them on the day we could one maybe is that is that we took from it. Yeah and i'm thinking about it. It's like this notre dame team. And i would say it from the last from the jalen smith <hes>. Ronnie stanley era up. So whatever it is i guess. Maybe it's the last five or six years they've had like some special athletes right. I mean ronnie stanley elite talent offensive lineman jalen field. Jalen fields. Jalen was is home. Ultra talented linebacker. They've had <hes>. Kyle hamilton is as athletic as any any safety. The country i mean they have some of these guys will fuller was as fast and dynamic as any receiver just about. I mean it's not like they haven't kyran williams of big time running back they just don't have quite enough of them right. I mean like they don't have any of them. It's not like you know. The the line from joey galloway said like northwestern's a bunch of reese davis's you know the inference there is like notre dame has has some guys who would play anywhere and they've always had a bunch of good offensive linemen. They have good tight ends. I don't think they're light years away from having like a team that could win a national title. I mean they're they're a top five team. It's just you know. I don't know like like maybe this is a better way to frame it. Like if they were playing ohio state they have somehow gotten by alabama. I mean <hes>. Let's take alabama out of the equation if they were playing ohio state and somehow it was a two three game. Let's say let's say that it was just a playoff game but it wasn't. You know as the i. I could see <unk>. Notre dame beating ohio state. Even after what. I just saw from ohio state alpha. If justin feels plays away did tonight. I couldn't but <hes> like i don't think it's out of the realm of possibility like i think there are. You know i watched their. I think notre dame's better team than georgia. I think not notre dame honesty's a better team than florida now. It's easy to say that after you've seen some of these teams get exposed some but lake and those teams. Those teams have played with alabama on a given night right. So i just don't think they have as much margin for error right

"The first sample. Ohio State will get the football to start the third quarter after winning the opening toss in deferring Unbelievable, John. And this is I almost can't believe my eyes, especially the way this game started. Clemson. At the football marched down the field. Seven or eight plays and scored a touchdown. We thought it might be a long night for Ohio State, but Ohio State is dominated the second quarter now. 21 to 0 here in the second quarter as we were tied 14 14 after a quarter. And man, this offense you always knew there was a V eight under the hood. Sean. It sputtered. It ties. But tonight they're running on all cylinders. And this is what everyone has known that this office was capable of is what's unfolding here before our eyes. 394 yards of offense. Now for Ohio State. Kickoff is a fair catch at the 19 yard line and against the 3 94 is Clemson's 1 96, most of it in the first quarter for context functions only averaging surrendering 298 yards. The entire game. So this is unbelievable. Offensive output here for Ohio State and again. Look, they're so balanced. I mean, 223 through the air and 1 71 on the ground. That is some complete football right now, And this is scary. No matter who you are watching these Ohio State Buckeyes. They are coming from the 25 out of the shotgun. Lawrence with 10 seconds left in the half will handed off running forward and past. The 30 is Travis See Tien and that'll do it for us through two quarters at the Mercedes Benz Superdome in New Orleans, but I think your friend it up pretty good. I don't want to call it shocking, but it sure is a surprise as to what we've seen so far through one half of the semi final game. I will say this, Sean, I would never count number 16 hour. If you think close is going to go lay down half time. You don't know these guys is Trevor Lawrence is one of the greatest leaders we've ever seen in college football. Like guarantee they're gonna come out in the second half and give Ohio state their best shot. Clemson.
