Also want to mention that is covert 19 vaccines continued to come into Ohio. We're pleased to announce that Cardinal Health Poppy freight logistics business will work with the Ohio National Guard. And the Ohio Department health to help us provide same day delivery services. Once the vaccine is widely available. This partnership or allows to ship the vaccine to approximately 350 locations across the state. S O. That is very good news as well as you may recall when we talked about the National Guard and when friends went out there, and I went out there to look at them practicing. Um These units many times come in adviser, 975 unit doses, so some of those have to be broken out to go into the smaller into the smaller communities. On. That's what will be happening. The guard will be doing that. I'm also pleased to announce today that the CDC has invited Ohio To participate in early scaled launch of vaccines. And nursing homes. As we reported before, we had been scheduled to start this on the 21st day of the month, and that would be Monday. Monday, December 21st in partnership with pharmacy providers. But as part of this scaled approach Heil will begin vaccination in 10. 5 to 10 nursing homes starting this Friday, so we expect to start nursing homes this Friday in Ohio. Our team is working out the details of word when those vaccinations will happen. Let me say in regards and who are nursing homes. Um You will be called. And this is really this point, a matter of simply scheduled nursing home's air on same priority, But the scheduling is something that the pharmaceutical excuse me that the Pharmaceutical companies. Will be actually doing so. CBS, for example, will be doing this Aziz well as the three other companies that air Handling of the vaccinations in our nursing homes. They were thankful to have with us. Friend. I were able to watch these first vaccines being administered. On Skype from the statehouse, something that frankly will never forget. Dr. Thomas. Thanks for being with us again how things go today. Ever. Thank you so much for having Dr Dixon and I hear today if you're representing highest state. It went incredibly well. Today. The UPS truck is shown in the video arrived nearly on time. We were prepared. And soon after our pharmacy colleagues got the vaccine ready for injection. We had decided when we found out over the weekend that we were getting back seeing today to do a dry run of AH Group of individuals. Some are high risk employees. So those that work in the emergency departments and those that work in our intense some of our intensive care units as you've described We don't have enough vaccine in this first allocation to cover all those populations. But the good news is with journal vaccine coming next week. We're gonna be much closer to covering all of our high risk. Employees, But we had just a terrific day with 30 individuals being vaccinated. It was a dry run Tau the check in process the releases that need to be signed and so forth. To make sure that all of our processors are in place to hit the ground running tomorrow with what we are first full day of vaccination at Ohio State. So, Doctor, I believe you as well as the other hospitals or getting 975 doses this week. You got those today grand? I had the chance to see those pull up to the Loading dock. That was pretty pretty exciting, eh? So you will be Starting back in on this number again tomorrow. Is that right? Correct. We have three different vaccine locations, one on our East campus, one on our main campus and then one just north of the Columbus campus, said our Ackerman road administrative facilities, so we'll be moving from location to location throughout the week. Andre. We moving through hundreds more employees over the course of the next few days, So we look forward once again to that allocation for next week and look forward later this week, too, inviting. Really thousands of more of those higher risk employees to sign up to be vaccinated over the next couple of weeks. Next week will will be exciting because we'll be expanding beyond the 10 hospitals to more hospitals throughout the state of Ohio, and they will be prioritizing those who are most at risk in the health care community. So that's that's exciting. Um Contradiction. Thank you for joining us. Thank you so much Governor for having me here. I'm very excited to be here. So you got you got a shot today, huh? I did. "High number right in so as a result at midnight tonight. I guess. Midnight last night this morning, The Ohio Department health banned dancing, walk up ours, buffets and socializing and open congregate areas. Whatever that means. I think we already shut that down. It's the places I've been to You know you go in the the boost our taped off every other booth is taped off, Walk up bars or Nome Or maybe some places they are, but I'm not out running the streets like I used to, because, you know I'm in a certain age now. But the dancing that the dancing band to me is absolute hilarious. I don't know if there are four out if you close everything at 10 o'clock, last call's at 10 o'clock Who's going out? Dan, who's dancing before tentacle locked? And is this just a wedding thing? Presumably not a funeral thing. But the order was signed by the end of Health department director and it won't affect this morning and you gotta be seated all times and wearing a mask unless you're eating or drinking. I don't know if that's between bites and know if they're gonna be that strict. We also have a very strict master order, which came down Monday. On just so you know, if you're under the age of 10, it doesn't apply to you but anyone 10 and older unless you are absolutely medically necessary not to wear the mask unless it's a medical issue. Where you cannot wear physically wear a mask. And you must wear one under a strict order. And also the return of one way, Isles. I have not been in my Kroger since this weekend, so I'm not sure if we went back to the one way aisles at my local Kroger store, but that's what they're asking us to do once again because the numbers are so high. But of all the things you know they were being dancing. And where are people just randomly dancing? And what kind of dance is it is a ballroom dancer, Because if you're dancing with someone cheek to cheek, you know you're doing a tango something along those lines. That's one thing, but You mean to tell me you can't do a limbo? Because the limbo to me seems if you get a 6 ft Limbo pole. I guess I'd have to be 12 ft. Tall foot limbo pole. You go through the middle of it. You're still 60 depart from the person on your left and your right And if you get a long life jump rope, which is technically not dancing, But it's it's double Dutch. You could you could double Dutch and You'd still be okay. What kind of specifically what kind of dancing? Are we banning here? You know again, I look at this and go case stand of all the things to we were getting really serious. Now. No more dancing in Ohio. Now. What if I'm in my car and I hear music and I start, you know Answered by myself. Like Billy Idol. Well, I don't know if that's illegal, either. Is it only dancing? You're dancing with someone else. And then you hear song on there, you know, on radio or satellite, and I aren't radio theater radio app. Whatever it is, And obviously you start dancing yourself. I don't know if that is in violation of law. And if someone a cop sees you dancing behind the wheel, or God forbid air drumming. Air guitar ng or lip sinking. Is that a form of expression and dance? It is prohibited by law. I have no idea what we're doing over here at this point. At the beginning of this thing, I'm down with it Where the Mass socially. Just got it. I got all that stuff. And now we're seeing a huge spike despite the fact that all the places allegedly that we're going to in dancing in public. Which have long since been shut down a 10 o'clock even though It's not the cause of this. They're still penalizes. Still, it's you know what it's like. Why I gotta get the governor on and asking this question this will this whole policy. Is like when my dad And maybe if you will not remember this right? Dad's driving a car. And you and your brothers were you and your sisters whomever it is in the back seat. Hi, two brothers. My brother's Andy and Rob and my dad be driving the car. Quick, Grab ass in back there. Good My dad loved. Use the term grab ass in your grab ass and I'm trying to drive. I don't know what he's thinking of when he's driving because generally is talking to my mom and they're arguing Who's got the radio on or whatever. I remember sitting in the back of our station wagon and said, What? My brother's quick grab acid. And he would never say if I have to stop this car. He would just like to give you the look. You know, when you get the look from the old man, It's not a good luck and it could have been my two brothers who were doing the grand national grab passing. I could've been sitting there drooling, looking out the window. If I was the one that was closest to him, Usually it's the middle seat guy. Get cracked. I get hit because these two were grab ass in. But it's because I was the closest one. The three of us were there, but I get hit because these two are acting up now. Is that fair? No. Is that and I think that's what Mike DeWine is doing. The ones driving the the station wagon that is Ohio and in the back seat is Maine. You and restaurant and bar owners and dance clubs. Whatever those And the only one who can hit Who's in reach. Are are the bar and restaurant owners. Me and you are. We're doing our own thing. We're grab ass in, right? We're having parties in her house or having people over. We got Thanksgiving coming up the holidays as something like 50% of the people said I'm still doing Thanksgiving. I don't care what you say. Zoom Thanksgiving. Stupid. I'm getting together because I need especially after this long year to spend 2020. What I need is some turkey. I need me some ham. God forbid, I need some green bean casserole. But I need the homemade Mac and cheese. I need my mom stuffing. I need my aunt's pie I.

"About getting your flu shot this year. Let's turn our attention. Out of the corona virus and the weekly update from governor dewine user the key indicators today and sadly we have shockingly high number of cases four thousand nine hundred sixty one. This is an all time high and put this in perspective about a month ago. Four weeks ago That number was about a thousand so now it is five fold up and seemingly continues to go up all the time we're now at eighty six percent of ohioans. Our fellow citizens who are living in red counties eighty percent six percent of population state is now living in a red counting Hundred percent of the state's highest. That means that there are enough cases during the past two weeks to get the high instance that the risk of catching this virus in every county is very real and certainly very concerning as i mentioned before team talks to local health commissioners throughout the week. I talked to them at least once a week on monday morning. when we have all the health commissioners on phone call but they continue to share with us some of the stories and we share them with you really just to kind of give you an indication of where we're seeing the spread We're seeing significant communities spread in every county There's a lot of spread directly in household so when one person gets the virus does the rest of the people who live in the home Schools are continuing to do a great job. gatherings including weddings and funerals and parties. In people's homes is really where we're seeing much of the spread in some cases The health departments have given us some stories. Let me just read a couple Woman went to a wedding where she contracted kobe. She passed it on to her mother. Her mother is the caregiver for a couple in their eighties. Now the couple in their eighties have seeking to see it just passes from one person to another to another another example. A group of teachers had halloween party with their bubble of people they usually spend time with. But there's another group of teachers party down the street. New group at the second party visited the people in the first party. As a result they recovered positive people in the second group and now more than ten teachers are sadly quarantine. Another story college students hosted a house. Borey highschoolers attended on october twenty fourth about eighty people attended there now at least five positive cases associated with that party now. I want to announce some key additions to our existing team that is fighting krona virus and additions to our administrative structure at the department of health. As you can see from the numbers we are now at a critical juncture in our fight against the virus cases are spiking all across the state of ohio. They are at an all time high the same time. The good news is we're closer to getting a vaccine as someone once said. It's always darkest before dawn but the light is coming. I'm confident of that. And so we need to be ready for that. Our game plan is straightforward and remains straightforward. The best way that we can defeat our common enemy is by doing three things. We must stick to the basics to not endanger ourselves our families nor others that means back to the basics worry mask maintaining distance not gathering in groups especially inside. We're almost continue to focus on protecting those. That are most vulnerable of getting the virus and we need to go on the offense with the pending arrival of the vaccine finding a pandemic demands a multi faceted response one that requires us to focus on our short term needs but also not lose sight of our long term goals. In sodas very important that we battle the virus. We continue to build out the ohio department of health because the ohio department health is the epicenter for this and they were really carrying out two separate jobs related but separate one is the normal function of the health. Department which vitally important to the safety of all ohio with the other is fighting the pandemic along with their partners at the local health level work ohio department of health and the local health departments work. They both do working together. As vital to the wellbeing of all highlands. We have spoken in the past of the social determinants of health which includes such things as income education levels physical and social environments bell of healthcare mental health treatment and other support. Networks where you live and your zip code. Many times plays a significant role in the health outcome. That is true for many ohioans. You'll how department health is foundation for effort to promote a healthy ohio working with the local health departments. So that no matter where you live in this state you have the opportunity to thrive and that's the goal whether it is working on infant mortality issues or maternal mortality issues. Well baby vaccines protecting children. From getting sick from lead poisoning decreasing tobacco use vaping or fighting infectious diseases. The ohio department.

"And now we're getting word from the the emergency management association so let's go to the neckline code issue that's in front of us all one of the biggest things that we are currently working on is managing the information for all of our partners obviously there's a lot of information coming out from the state from the different departments within the county and from our local jurisdictions and all that's coming into our emergency operations center which has been activated for over a week now and bring that in between that together so actually one of the difficulties that we face is the fact that this information is constantly changing I passed out to all of you our latest said Rep which we just issued right around noon that's already out of date because we got our second confirmed case so we're trying to get at least one situation poured out daily and we share those with all of our local fire chiefs of police chiefs all the local elected officials mayors the township administrators just so that everyone has sort of what we call that common operating picture and constant communication so that we can work to anticipate any needs that our communities might have as of today we currently have eight of the four nine jurisdictions that have declared states of emergency and clean the seats Cincinnati Anderson township Colerain township Norwood Woodlawn Lachlan deer park and spring Dale in addition to the county's declaration the state and the federal decorations that we received one of the other things that our office is currently working on regularly to this was the coordination of PP amongst our first response partners PP protective personal protective equipment for first responders and for the hospital so things like the gloves N. ninety five masks the surgical mask and one of our big efforts is really coordinating the sharing of information between the local fire departments and hospitals as far as the regional cash that Greg talked about making sure that everyone is aware of what the limitations are how to appropriately ration the use of PPE and if they do need to request that from the region cash making sure everyone's using that same process so that we can constantly monitor our resources and anticipate any potential shortfalls which right now we don't cash is going up also communicating with the state of Ohio EMA in Ohio department health so that if we do need to request state level resources to supplement what we have in the region a we're prepared to do that and that's not something we have to figure out when that time comes so my questions thank you thank you for the update I any questions or comments for right no question thank you all right and again.
