AP FACT CHECK: Biden skews figures on border, taxes, more

"The AP finds it president Biden is offering a misleading account of what's going on at the U. S. Mexico border at its first news conference since taking office president Biden was pressed on the situation at the border vied says the US will take steps to quickly move hundreds of migrant children and teens out of cramped detention facilities but while the president sought to betray the rise in migrants is little different from seasonal increases in the past it just happens every single solitary year AP fact check found unaccompanied immigrant children have come to the border in higher numbers than what he said according to figures from U. S. customs and border protection authorities encountered over nine thousand children without a parent in February that's a sixty one percent increase from January not twenty eight percent the number rose thirty one percent between January February twenty nineteen before the pandemic while Biden tried to play down his inauguration is the reason many children and teenagers have decided to migrate to the U. Border crisis threatens the Biden honeymoon

"Critics reporting to President Biden's choice to reverse many of former President Trump's immigration policies as the driving force behind the surge of migrants at the US Mexico border. The Biden administration says the opposite, claiming they inherited the border challenges from Trump. There are growing calls for the president to Is it the border to see what's going on down there? But so far, it's Homeland Security Secretary Ali 100 my orcas who is taking the lead from the administration in December, border officials encountered just under 5000 unaccompanied minors. Two months later, that number almost doubled to nearly 9500. The administration refuses to use the word crisis. When talking about the surge hours after taking the oath of office, President Biden signed an executive order that stopped construction on the Trump border wall, The White House said. It's just not Needed. But critics say that stopping construction of the wall sends a clear message that the United States is open boxes. "Trump's future. As he leaves office. President Trump is considering what comes next. The president seems set to maintain a regular presence on social media. But beyond Twitter what plans are in hand? Well, Some suggest Trump is likely to set up a television network to offer entertainment and analysis. We also know Trump has political ambitions with his Super PAC set to play a role in the Republican Party's future. And will trump run again in 2024. Chelsea. You know it Zhar to gauge this president's strategy, or at least his intention in the best of times. But what do you think we will be seeing from former President Trump in 2021? Well, it's hard to protect. But I think we can all agree that Trump will remain in the public sphere one way or another, whether that is through starting his own media company, whether that is a speaking tour or whether that's running for president and in 2024. I think the one thing I'm confident about is the Trump family will be around for a while. If President Trump does not run for, uh President in 2024. I wouldn't be surprised to see one of his family members seek some kind of public office, including the presidency that said, for the sort of larger Republican coalition and what the Trump movement means for that, while I although Republicans lost the presidency, I am encouraged by the Diversity that our party is now being represented. As on by. I think that's only going to grow. And I think you know, despite his flaws, we do need to get President Trump a lot of credit for really connecting with and speaking to Americans from all different backgrounds. It's a bright future for the GOP. Parents. Yeah, I agree that President Trump has been speaking to a lot of people from Bud backgrounds, and he saw something that most everybody else missed in the what we now call his base, the disenchanted voters and non voters out there, many of them non college whites. It's often been said people who are on the wrong end or simply the losing. And the globalism and the other automation. Other changes that have been going on, eh? So he I Advised Democrats. Everybody was involved all experience tension to help Donald Trump did it because I think you could do it hold everybody else did. But he's accomplished a lot in terms of his own self promotion on building a movement that has got a religious harbor to it, frankly, apart is his ability to actually get reelected again. I don't know, people I'm going to throw up. I'm gonna be ready for him this time, including viable Republican candidates and up and comers. But then again around Trump, I've been wrong before and I'm not alone. Huh? Yeah, I don't know what Donald Trump is going to do himself. But he is Su e generous. He's a figure of work for which there is no comparable figure, no similar figure, and he based his success here, not only on his persona And not only for the figure he wasps but on the issues, Border security. No more these forever wards in the Middle East. Get out of those cut. End these trade deals. Bring back manufacturing Give the United States Make America strong Put America foes first Forget all this globalism and the rest of this nonsense in this agenda of issues is gonna have a voice in a spokesman. For a long time in the Republican Party. People have endorsed that agenda, and there's not in my lifetime. Not even Reagan was stronger with the Republican Party base and Donald Donald Trump is today. Helena. Well, I'm not glorifying Mr Trump the way you all are. I see in that picture in chief, as he has in his next phase of life. Hey, will continue to monetize his person, his personality and to commercialize things beyond any ethical lines. Look at the pact that he formed, Uh Any any donations up to 5000 go directly into his pocket over 5000. Allegedly They go for legal fees, legal fees to find lawsuits that were never going to go anywhere and aren't going anywhere. Secondly, I would point out as Matt Drudge goes, so does a good portion of the conservative movement in this country. And that judge who had Buchanan has followed and talked very fondly out for a long time, basically had a headline that said it's time to move on, Andre. I'm echoing Matt Drudge, Uh, this president the way he's behaved, since losing the election is disgraceful, the way he is willing to tear down American democracy to serve his own selfish need to be, uh, too may not seen in a zoo loser. So what he does next I don't know. But if the Republican Party can't figure out how to elevate other candidates on to figure out what they're about, other than Mr Trump's, uh, particular winds at any given moment, they don't deserve to be all the major political party and I'd love to see what they're going to do with Marjorie Taylor Greene that the open Open Human on supporter who was just elected to Congress. Do I get to tie her around? Every Republican the way you will look at AOC is some sort of destructive force around a Democrat. She Yeah, I'm gonna try to do it. Well, let me let me ask Chelsea on that point. You know the element. I wanna makes a legitimate observation that You know, there was some rather odd characters in the Republican Party alongside AOC, who do in some sense represent that kind of populist momentum birth by Trump, or at least brought to another apex by Trump. I mean, how do you Kelsey see the various intellectual populist strands of conservatism dealing with Trump? You know, in exile? I mean, he may be Napoleon returning to fight another great battle and get beaten at Waterloo. But you may not be. I mean, it's a hard one to judge This is actually the threat I'm most interested in following over the next four years. Is there going to be a figure that is able to connect with trump space in the way that only President Trump has been able to do thus far, but perhaps won't turn off so many moderate voters with his or her tweets. I think there are a number of promising figures I can think of Dan Crunch on Nikki Haley, Josh Hall of Holly, Marco Rubio and Was our only political figures. I think conservatives are more and more enthused by outsiders coming in and looking to shake up Washington instead of electing more of the same, which I'm sorry, But it is exactly what Democrats just did by nominating Joe Biden as as their candidate for to represent the Democrat Party. So I looked for more shakeups in the future, Whether or not we'll have a figure like that. Connect with Trump's beast again without you know, maybe some of the tweets and some of the personality traits that works so appreciate it. We'll find out it isn't here and answer about Marjorie Taylor Greene. To be honest, I don't know..

"Life. It's the Benson show. For the first time since leaving the Oval Office. President Obama is now calling out President Trump by name saying Trump is capitalizing on resentment that Republicans have been fanning for years. Obama was campaigning in California this weekend for democratic house candidates running in GOP health congressional districts. Obama's words, put vice President Mike Pence on defense on Fox News Sunday, very disappointing to see President Obama break with the tradition of former presidents and become so political. Yeah. That's that's that's that's what he's done. We talked about it on Friday. And I look. There's an unwritten rule that you just don't you've had the job you get with the jobs all about and you smile and. Say a tough job and you move on. But he can't stop himself. He thinks he's doing it for the betterment of of us like this. He's saving us from ourselves. And I'm gonna tell you guys this right now, we deserve what we have good, better indifferent. This is the the politicians and the government that we deserve. We live in a world. Of reality television. And we got a reality TV president doesn't mean he's going to fail doesn't mean. There isn't going to be some really good times. And it doesn't mean there couldn't be some issues that have nothing to do with the manufacturing of this. Or there's a controversy over here. We're gonna do this. And I mean, it's hilarious. You look back. And everybody's like, you know, I mean, what what when you when I was watching the CBS thing, and I just read this article, and they talk about the rhetoric every time Trump says something it's rhetoric right? Every time he says something it's rhetoric and every time somebody like Trump would say some I mean Obama saying wasn't rhetoric. Why is it rhetoric from one side and not the other that to me is very interesting. Well, it's because that's the way the media is going to spin it right because they liked him. And we live in a world of likeability. If you're liked you can get away with a lot of stuff. Right. They will look the other way they will not press issues that need to be pressed. They won't ask you question of. Why did you let shell drill in the Arctic twice? Hey, why why are you said you're going to get us out of all these wars and all this stuff, and instead of quick from you know, we were in to now, we're we're we're heading into seven. Railed against big banks and all of these kind of things and yet you're taking big money for. Meetings and given raw speeches to them. Like, you're like, many other presidents. I don't fault you for any of those things. I look at the media and said why is it bad for him? And over there, you cheered them on one of the big things is he's likeable. Likeable and don't confuse likeability for competence. I don't think he's an incompetent, man. No, no, no, no, don't do people roaming the chat, daddy's cap it. No. Boy, do you look at the job look at this look at the job of President Obama look back. He has one big victory, which is ObamaCare. And out of that it's been nothing, but a disaster for a lot of people not everybody. But a lot of people. Please likeable and likable goes a long way it does. And now politics is more about likability than anything else. Look at Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz just isn't likable. I'm sorry. I'm sure there's people who live for Ted Cruz. Dick is a great, man. He's he's not likeable. I can tell you this right now. He probably wasn't likable kid. If probably wasn't he probably wasn't super likable as a kid. So coming out to things Obama loves the campaign, and he wants to be a star maker. He wants to be a star maker. And how was he going to keep a lot of the stuff that he's done? He's got to get people elected because if he can get people elected. They can potentially go in there and stamped down on the TV that is Trump and the things that he's trying to do. It's not good for the country. But I think President Obama's supposition is that this is an unusual time. We have a president calling for the Justice department to investigate political opponents. So I think President Obama wanted to go with tradition like President Bush did, but he felt like for the sake of the country our constitution and our norms of behavior. He was obligated to speak out. Why was he obligated? I don't really want to do this now. And now, you're setting a precedent? And this what we have. I don't want that. But this is what we're getting now. But understand something we have a world now where it's all about popularity for a lot of people likability, not competence and not saying he's incompetent human being. I never had anything against President Obama personally. I thought he was a good guy. I think he tried. I think he grew up in a world of politics like a lot of people gravitate to that to that political world on the left, and they love it. And they soak it, and they eat it up. And that's never been me. Right. I'm independent, libertarian, whatever. You wanna call me? I just never been in that world where he was at and he plays. The political game is good as anybody. And he was part of the system as much as anybody and the media overlooked it because they loved him. They fell in love. They didn't the media didn't even follow it like with them. Philon? Fair. Likable, dude. I look at Trump not a fan of them. Personally. Don't know the guy don't care too. I never have politicians on you wanna know why? Because when you start to like him. What can't you do? It's tough to criticize people you like a special you have a relationship with them. I want to give it to you straight. But I can look through the BS when it comes to the media, and there's plenty of that out there, but the media loved him and the public liked him Trump. The media loves to hate him. Can't stand. Anything about him. He's got some hardcore people that follow him. But we're still motoring along. Here's the nation. We still are is he likable. That's for you to decide. Maybe he is. Maybe isn't is he lovable again. That's for you to decide. But when it comes to the popularity side of things the media always loved Barack Obama. They always will the funny thing is for all of this stuff. Right for all of this who should they love because of tell you what the media has made a killing with Trump a killing that it make with Obama. If you pair off these to President Trump versus President Obama, the one who is most popular today is President Obama. So if I were a democratic candidate having President Obama campaign on behalf of me or President Trump campaigning on behalf. Republican the dynamics right now favor, President Obama. But this is a clash of the titans that I think we're gonna see it unfold in the next eight weeks clash of the titans were crash of the titans released a crackhead who do you think the cracking would be would it be Hillary? She's kind of cracking. So Hillary's, the crack, and if you guys ever saw the clash of the titans would that make so who so then means Trump has to go find Medusa because that's how they stopped the crack. I sweet movie. God, it's the likability thing. And that's the thing that frustrates me. Because I think in this day and age week, we confuse likability with with competency. You competent to do the job. You're gonna bring us results. I am not a fan of the fact that that he's out there doing this and the Trump and him or fighting, and somehow he's you know, the media's fawning over Memphis if he's doing the United like he had to step in and be the bigger person here. God I had to step in. I didn't want apple Stephan. But I have to step in and take control here because nobody else will do it. Such a bunch of BS and crap really is. But likeability is vitally important. It is is the thing. I said about Hillary Hillary didn't get elected. For a lot of reasons. But the number one thing for me on the top was she wasn't likable. She couldn't relate. She's a likeable. It was like you owed her something. She's a woman you odor, your vote. She was going to break boundaries in the ceiling, you odor, the vote coming through the glass, you odor, the vote. You owed her something in all the while. She looked down upon you. And she was flabbergasted that anybody would ask questions about a server that she kept in a bathroom in Denver wherever I can't believe anybody would ask that. Or questioner about Benghazi or Libya or uranium one? Or any of these things? I can't even believe that anybody would ever ask any kind of question. Like, how dare you? Did you know who I am? If there's anybody in the world. That I think would use the don't, you know, who I am. She would be at the top of the list, she would be and I'll tell you this if she had an ARA by her name, and she was running the media would love to destroy because I had friends who are still in the media, and they couldn't stand her. But the narrative needed to be paid a certain way when it came to the D And the R three two three five eight twenty four twenty three at Chadbensonshow is your Twitter. You can tweet at us love hearing from you. So your bathroom you go in there and you open up your medicine cabinet. And you're like, okay, I'm gonna shave and all this stuff. And you got you got an old razor, right? I gotta get near razors. Gotta get to that. So I'm not gonna shave today and your hair stuff's running out. You got like four different kinds, and it's just a mess now picture, this you go into your bathroom you open up the medicine cabinet. What do you have dollar shave dollar shave dollar shave dollar shave dollar shave, go near shower? Dollar shave dollars. You do you see.
