Fresh update on "offensive tackle" discussed on The Dan Patrick Show
"Patrick. Welcome to the program. It's our to Dan of the damn it. Stand, Patrick show. Glad to have you on board. If you miss Cris Collinsworth last hour, he was great. Had some really, really great analysis. Of the Packers and Josh Alan. And if you missed any of our interviews, you could go to Dan patrick dot com. We will bring back some of Chris's comments coming up a little bit. Later on. There was a UFC fight over the weekend with Connor McGregor being knocked out. Aerial Helwan who covers this sport for the mothership will join us coming up a little bit later on this hour. Your phone calls you're welcome is we always do every Monday? Best and worst to the weekend. What you saw that you liked you didn't like And we say good morning to our radio and TV partner. Our TV partners. Peacock radio Partners numbering almost 400 Cities around America when Aaron Rodgers won his first Super Bowl is back in 2011. Packers fans probably thought this the first of many, but the NFL can be fickle could be cruel. And even though Aaron Rodgers has played in an M V P level Green Bay has fallen short in the playoffs time after time after time they've gotten to the NFC title games. Rogers can be brilliant, but that's still not always enough, and we saw that yesterday against the Buccaneers after the game. He certainly didn't look like himself sound like himself. He's usually pretty even killed a little bit snarky, sarcastic, but He looked defeated, as he said, gutted, no matter what he does, though, the pact they keep hitting a wall and Packers fans during the game yesterday, even after the game were reliving the draft of Jordan Love. If we only would have taken an offensive tackle or cornerback or tight end. Now you got a problem with the Jordan Love draft, huh? Well. I don't know. If Aaron Rodgers gets back to this place. This is M V p season you had Tom Brady and company coming to your place for the NFC title game. But You know, you got to give credit to Tampa's defense. Campus defense won that game yesterday in my opinion. We've seen other great quarterbacks have similar journeys here. You know Brady's the out. Liar, but Brett Farve one only one Super Bowl Drew Brees, one only one Peyton Manning one, too, but more of a bystander in that second one, but Rogers. I don't know He's down. He's out. Does he want to stay in Green Bay? He seemed have a cryptic message when he was on the podium yesterday. When he's playing well, he makes the NFL whole lot more fun. But I asked you is look across the line of scrimmage and see Tom Brady is going to the Super Bowl of the age of 43 Rogers is just 37. I say just 37 because that's the way we look at quarterbacks now, and by comparison, he's six years younger than Tom Brady. Hopefully, he makes another run at a trophy soon, But yesterday wasn't to being here's Aaron Rodgers on what is next after this loss. There's a lot of unknowns going into this off season now. They're just gonna have to take some time away for sure. And clear my head and I'm going to see what's going on with everything. But it Z tough right now. Especially thinking about the guys that may or may not be here next year. There's always change. Just the only constant this business. It's really tough to get to this point. Really, really tough, especially with the only damn one bye week. The playoffs. It's a grind just to get to this point, and that makes the finality of it all. Kind of hits You like a ton of bricks. That's why it's a gutting feeling. In your stomach. The That's what hit me. Because I wanted to leave that in because I think it was just the enormity sort of hitting there. Where you just You want to exhale? You want to try toe not say something you're gonna regret. You know, if you're 30 years of age 25 years of age, you think you're gonna be back? You expect to be back? He's 37. This was a very good year for the Packers. You have to win the home game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. And then Tom Brady throws three interceptions on three consecutive drives, and you don't take advantage of them and then the opportunity with little more than two minutes to go, got to score a touchdown at some point. And you decide to kick the field goal. Cris Collinsworth had a great break down on this, and if you didn't hear it, you could listen to the entire interview, or I'll bring it back a little bit later on. Kevin King did not have a good day at all is he gave up a couple of touchdowns, including Scotty Miller, sprinting right past him for another touchdown, gave up one earlier with Mike Evans. That was the Buccaneers first touchdown. Had a pass interference call Leonard for net, blasted King with his shoulder than wrote him into the end zone to give Tampa Bay the lead. But it was not a good afternoon for the defense it back. But I'm going to give a lot of credit to the defense for the Buccaneers for the second consecutive week. They want a football game and Brady was took advantage..

Jake Wood of Team Rubicon Talks About His Latest Book "Once a Warrior"
"Would team rubicon. Welcome a dose of leadership my friend. Yeah thank you for having me on. Obviously i love having primaries here. Mix conversation really easy. I know this is going to be a good one. But man So i followed you ever since team. Rubicon kindergarten Our mutual friend pot. And you know he was involved with guys and he told me all about you. And i've been meaning to have on you for for years and i got sidetracked and you get new book. Said gosh dang. I gotta get you out here so get while i'm excited to join it's It seems like a great time to beyond the shadows of veterans day and the book coming out this week. it's no time like the present absolutely and Happy belated marine corps. Birthday by the way. Thank you two hundred forty five years young man. Oh kin well the the new book coming out once a warrior is out and highlight your story of going to iraq and then coming back and team rubicon reason why i love this book so much i love what you do is one thing i talk about on the show lot is and i think our our main obligation the only obligation where we're here is to make the place better than we found it in that seems to be something you've dove into. You came back from iraq and trying to figure out what your purpose was right in and it's like embrace this mission of trying to make the place better than you found it. How does that resonate when you hear me say that. Yeah i mean. I think there's an element of truth to that. I think there have been a couple of points in my life where you know. I thought i was at this decision. Point where i was either to pursue a life of service. Or i was going to go to do something like on wall street. You know and the first time that i hit that juncture was when i was graduating college in ultimately i decided to go join. The marine corps. Wasn't ready to go. Where a suit. And the second time was when i got out of the marine corps. I thought okay. Well you served a lot. I just got back from iraq afghanistan. i feel like. I've done my part time to go. You'll make some money. Or you know where suit and in then i kind of stumbled into team rubicon and in clearly over the last decade having been one to wear too many suits one thing. I'm curious when you were playing football. Wisconsin Right was it. Wisconsin did get that right. Yeah yeah and obviously the ward kicked off eleven had happened. You decided to go and list which. I highly commendable. But why didn't you consider becoming an officer just out of curiosity. You know there were there. Were a couple of things that lead into that I was the practical. So i i did start speaking this officer selection officers about perhaps going in as an officer and you know bear in mind like you said i played football right so i i. I started exploring this right after my final game which was on january. First two thousand five and i was an offensive tackle for wisconsin. So you can imagine. I'm six foot six two hundred ninety pounds and So i meet this captain marine captain and i tell him think i wanna be an option. He looks me up and down. I don't fit the bill or hate him. Officers are trimmed trim guys and gals right and he asked me goes you know. How fast can you run three miles. And i kind of shorted got pretty mean you know. I haven't run three miles in five years But i can tell you what my forty are dash. Time is any said what you've got to be able to run in eighteen minutes. If you want to be an officer. I said okay. Well that's that's pretty aggressive but there. If he told me i needed to do when he was. You've got to be able to do twenty pull ups to. That's that's not a problem. And then he asked me the the real question he goes. You know you play football. You have any injuries you having surgeries as well. Yeah i mean. I had my shoulder. Reconstructed is my foot reconstructed. I dislocated my other shoulder. And he just shook his head and he said you know what. You're a lot of paperwork kid. I got people lined up outside my door. Join you know to go see us right now and he never called me back. Wow a yeah. But then that was coupled with us some conversations. I was happened with with some veterans. That i knew who are coming back from iraq and afghanistan and they said you know jake if you really are looking to get into the fight in. You're looking to lead people. Their perspective was that this was a squad. War know that the company and platoon maneuver warfare was over and that this was really a squad based warrants. They said you go. Be a non commissioned officer. Be corporal or sergeant in. You'll get all the leadership that you want in. So i took that advice to heart. I i stopped trying to get that guy to call me back in. I got what i wished for. I came an nco. And i led marines and combat.

Dallas Cowboys make handful of roster moves, activate Brown from IR
"Tyron Smith is now gone for the year it was announced on Friday two days ago Mike. McCarthy confirmed the report from NFL networks. Mike Fellow and Jane Slater Day before Mike McCarthy confirmed the tarrant Smith will undergo season ending surgery next week the cowboys are hopeful that he'll be back in two thousand and twenty one the Dallas cowboys already down there other offensive tackle in Lyle Collins Who Unlike Tyran Smith did not play a down this season. Also, it's worth mentioning that Travis Frederick. Retired shortly after Mike McCarthy took over as head coach his replacement if you want to call them that in Joe Looney. A sprained MC l. he is scheduled or slated I should say to miss the next two to three weeks just depends how that's going to go tyler beyond the cowboys fourth round rookie out of Wisconsin. Same place they got Travis. Frederick. Of course, seemingly is a much more stable option than anybody that's going to replace tarrant Smith or Lyle Collins but I bring all of this up to say that when my McCarthy. Signed his contract to be the head coach of the Dallas cowboys he did. So with likely knowledge that at the very least tired smitten, Lyle Collins would be playing for his football team and quite possibly unless you knew at the time that Travis Frederick was going to retire the Travis. Frederick. would be playing as well. So he's now down sixty percent of the offensive line he thought that he. Would have their many defensive players that are out Joe McCoy. One of the teams biggest off season signings is gone because he got hurt on the first day of practice and so this this team and where they are a month into the season is very different than the one Mike McCarthy sat down implant. That's all I'm saying it is definitely true that you have to adjust in the NFL. That's life things happen injuries happen with stuff happens that sports that's life like I said and so Mike McCarthy ultimately has to be held responsible for that because he's the head coach that's the hat that he wears, but it is worth saying and that's why I said now let's talk about some of these injuries and some of the roster moves the Dallas cowboys made ahead of this game on. Saturday day before this that you and I are talking day before game. Day the. Dallas. Cowboys made a handful of roster adjustments. It had been rumored all week long that Anthony. Browne would be returning from injured reserve and remember that injured reserve operates differently due to cove nineteen protocols and now nfl players only have to be on injured reserve for three weeks before they are eligible to return Anthony Brown. Is Eligible to return. It was speculated all week long that he would rejoin the cowboys they are in massive need of help in their secondary. So they officially Anthony Brown bag he is the first player that the Dallas cowboys have brought back off of injured reserve so far this season other candidates for this potential obviously include Sean Lee late and vanish. We'll see about cam irving things like that. But Anthony Brown I one. So the cowboys activated Anthony Brown. He is now part of the fifty three man roster, of course. So is Francis Bernard a fan favourite linebacker, undrafted free agent linebacker out of Utah many people, Francis, Bernard in the training camp portion of the year. Obviously no preseason he is. Now on the fifty three man roster, the cowboys have needed massive help in the linebacker. Department So far this season

to happen next year but this is unlike any other NFL draft and it is not even close I wonder what you all think about some of these are some of these products will get through it a second what's Harvey are in fact a real doing hobby are we doing tonight ma'am right each day what's up how you want to call in about that parade whichever brand is one huge thought about that the town of Sonoma pick prediction odds seem sensible tried to kill all the crab grass out there at eight in the drive a defensive back you want me to find a good brother thirty one disappoint to Sherman if you're better than other people just you know an answer heavily armed police put it back in an inmate at the beach I go to a broker to stop the run first and foremost at three technique either Betty tackle believe decides to tackle Auburn but I want to also make a draft a projection for any harm which you know you feel bad about washer Piane peaks as well as his trade you can't add time answer the doctor trade I was gonna say would be Trent Williams and the thirty first are currently in the Washington Redskins given an artistic around peak for kwon Alexander in the thirty first overall pick and the reason behind that because I feel like great remote place so well last year the inside linebacker spot next week wanted Sam backer making more let's move him in that spot could you know stay we accord transitioning out when she left tackle has currently split right forty five younger than Joe Staley you lose that calorie cap hit that one getting with check your player Greenlaw you could houses here at that outside linebacker follow mobile nine games in the regular season and it could really well at that line up and you get a card or a office to tackle replacing here too we try to win you can keep a guard for the remainder is career yeah I saw also a hobby here here's what I would say about all that I think there's some reason behind everything you're saying so that's clearly well thought out I don't love the idea first and foremost original projection that you talked about was the forty Niners making a pick at both thirteen and thirty one I'm gonna trust not a male co who said earlier this week there's a one hundred percent chance that they trade at least one of those pets so now that's what you're talking about and and sure Trent Williams of the of the Redskins appears to be on the block and available and the kwon Alexander name came up earlier this week as well for Mike Lombardi I don't love it for a few reasons right now I'm your moving too many pieces around putting stay away in a spot where you've never seen them you're putting words when she had a spot where you've never seen them they like school and broad scale what happens to those guys your you if you do give up on the on Kwan and I realize it's a trade that changes some things a little bit but you you're basically reading yourself of one large contract just to bring in another one but what I really don't love about it is that if the forty Niners are going to make a trade in the first round I want pics I want more pics and I think they do also when your cash strapped and you're getting ready for George Kittle and his extension you want more cheap labor without a better way to say it more cheap labor they want more picks because they need production out of guys who aren't going to make a lot of money so getting rid of one of those contracts just to replace it with another one and not only making the move but not really gaining any draft capital because of it I'm personally not a fan of that I would love to see in fact I I'm kinda high on them trading thirteen because you can get a hall you can go from thirteen to sixteen or seventeen and pick up two more picks and what are you really losing their depending on who it is you may want but I think that's huge in this draft the forty Niners right now are not in the second third and fourth rounds they need to be at they need to be at and and so I think they will be for me any trade they make needs to bring draft capital with it unless you're straight up going player for player Matt breeder for OJ Howard or something like that all right coming up just off the top of the hour we're gonna get into some of these some of the best NFL draft prop bets well the draft to be hacked well the number one overall pick cry total round one trades how many draftees will be seen in a tie total dogs shown during the first round I wish there was one for kids because they run into the room to you now I know we've seen that on every talk show in America all well any draftee be shown drinking beer I hope so well pizza be seated in a drafty home well you put a camera on mine the answer is yes but I'm not getting drafted tomorrow we'll get into all of those coming up later on after the top of the hour coming up next Steve powers solo pro football focus he's fantastic and he's next all these wars later.
Miami Dolphins Draft 2020 – Beefing Up The Defensive Line
"The dolphins coming in with Pick number five. They have a lot of needs to. What are they going to do with that quarterback position? You know what they do. They desperately need a quarter of quarterback. There there's no doubt they they do have. I don't know if this makes you feel any better about their situation. They have Josh Rosen. They have Ryan Fitzpatrick. Are Those guys? You're going to build around probably not. I'm hearing that there's any from Justin. Herbert to to attack overall is going to be there. I think the dolphins are going to surprise a lot of people. They're going to get the unsexy pick here. And they're going to take an offensive lineman out of the first round as well. I wouldn't be that shocked overall. I I could see this team doing it but I keep going back and forth to be quite honest with you of what this what they might do because that quarter quarterback is so important obviously for your franchise as you build but the bottom line is the dolphins have a lot of needs. You know they want to take a quarter. But you know you're hearing you're hearing all this thing about the Wunderlich score you're hearing about the you know. Obviously the injury is there. They have three first rounders. So could they wait a late around and see? What happens to some of these quarterbacks down there or do they just flat out go with a guy that could be more of a sure thing for them at the end? I like Andrew Thomas. The offensive tackle. I think they're gonNA go with the Linemen and the Miami Dolphins fans are GonNa be very upset but this is based on everything that I continue to read. They have sent sent up a lot of smokescreens but I could see them going with an offensive Lineman to say listen. We're we're going to be an interesting spot here either way we go. We're just trying to figure out the next step for us in our rebuild process and a process so I could see this team doing that but I think they go with Andrew. Thomas the tackle out of

The right type of player at the right spot. And they brought Lee Smith back who is like an offensive tackle different. But he also did some things that, you know, you look at his his highlights from Oakland and they threw him the ball so he can do some things one of the names that's been bouncing around with Brandon bean with Lorenzo Alexander with. Josh Allen as Jason Croom. He has really elevated his game. You know, speaking in the break, he's an, he's a tireless work has really worked at it really craft. He's gotten himself into the NFL now. Whereas maybe a fringe player of practice squad guy he's a legitimate player, but there may not be room for him on this roster particularly since the drafting of Dawson, Knox and Kami Sweeney. So you got these guys. How do you see shaking out there? They had they came into this off season. With only Jason Croom at tie, which is kind of wild, but they added four different substantial pieces to that and quality promising pieces of right. So I mean Tyler Kroft the injury to him. I mean that had to dishearten the bills because that happened I ta practice. That's just like I'll come there's foot. They were counting on him as much as they're counting on Mitch Morris. You know what I mean? They thought he was going to be he's plug and play. Right. Nobody was going to beat him out. Yeah. I mean he was he was the starter. He was the type. And he was the guy who is going to allow them to afford Dawson, knocks the time in the, in the shadows to be able to develop a little bit as a route runner, and as more of an all around tight at, but now that he his start of the season is certainly in jeopardy because the start of the regular season as to the point where they started OTA's would put him around the three and a half month range of from, from injury around the start of the c-. Right. Exactly. That might be a little bit too soon for him to get into it and not to mention it's probably going to take him longer than just the three and a half, two months to get himself acclimate. Well, I think that's what I think is part of it. I don't think it'll take him that long to get back on his feet star. It'll take him that loan to get in shape and be. One hundred percent over the injury. I had surgery on that foot from my understanding is so yeah, it's I think that's start to finish. I think he should be one hundred percent by then, and hopefully we'll be able to hit the ground running by because he'll be able to start doing some things on the side by himself. He'll he'll he'll be in meetings, he'll be at practice. He'll watch these guys. He'll be catching the ball standing still, you know, that kind of thing he'll be up on his feet, and then they'll start running a little bit. So he'll by the time formats is over, he should be able to be the guy he is. But then but then if he is not eligible for the start of the regular season. What do you do if you're the bills do you keep a fifth tight end on the roster because as it is right now they're probably keeping four between Croft Dawson knocks lease myth. Those are the three it seems like locks at this point in time, just based on how much resources they put into each one of those guys and then the bub-. Guys are Tommy Sweeney nj and Croome. So what do you look for in this, for instance, do you, keep Croome, because, because Croft is off to the side, and might not be available to you at the start of the regular season. Whereas, but you already have Dawson knocks there. And do you just keep Croom just just in case that Dawson knocks isn't fully ready or B with Leigh Smith? He offers a certain amount to your offense in terms of being that six offense lineman, essentially, and by all means that's kind of what Tommy Sweeney is too. So they have to ask themselves. Okay. What can they sneak onto their practice squad, more capably? And would they be able to do that with Jason Croom? We'll Jason Croom have a summer worth it enough to be able to stay within that top four range in and outranked Tommy Sweeney because if there's one thing that we should know about Brandon being he does not like to cut his draft picks. Do you know the only draft pick that they cut? Of his last year out of training camp. Austin parole. Made it. I mean, they, they McLeod they kept all of them and I did release. No, they didn't was Robert Foster. They really brought him back in the core. One of the things about this, as well, as, I think it comes down to a little bit of what Brian Cabell wants to do. Sure. If he asked, and I think they'll listen to whether whether it's a draft pick or not. I think if debuted comes listen. Lee smith. Good tied into but he's not good enough in the passing game for us. Because when we stick him in there, we're going to start to become predictable Croome is good enough and getting better at running at run blocking. Well, that's going to be the big thing for him, right? It's, it's going to be, it's going to be better for us to be unpredictable than it is to have a guy who can actually dominate at the end of the line of scrimmage, because then they're going to be on their his little bit with crew in there. They're going to have to cover him, not realizing, he's blocking them that kind of thing for it'll come down to the way, the coaching staff wants to utilize these guys to me, it looks like Tommy Sweeney Croome and to a certain extent at this time because I don't know any better. Dawson. Knox. And of course, Tyler Kroft, they're all kind of trying to be all round guys. Right Lee Smith doesn't make any bones about. He's an offensive tackle leadership guy, solid guy in the room, who's got his uses big time, I think, Sweeney's more in the mold of Leigh Smith, and he has Tyler Kroft if just by just by watching him. He seems like his strong point is in the blocking realm, and it's not a great athlete you Syam. Yeah. He's huge. He's huge. He's, he's absolutely huge. He's, he's kind of a plotting runner you see it on the screen right now. But he also has the ability to find the space and for those short intermediate spots. He's not going to get you a ton after the catch. But he's also fairly good in the red zone. So that's why I'm just wondering with with him because he is somewhat in that mold of lease myth. So if something happens to lease myth. Tom Sweeney kind of reminded me of Pete Mets, LARs are six eight power forward in hoops. He is never very fast between, like what six four six five basil is all six five. I think I need. Big dude. He might I may be wrong. He may be not that tall, but he strikes me as being a really big guy. He's no, Pete Metzler size wise. But that's a type of player he is maybe a little bit faster now that because he's probably in his twenties. And I played with Pete when he was late twenties and thirties. But right. You know, very good hands got an awareness can run around and you can get a little bit of separation, even though he's not going to outrun anybody. So it's gonna come down to him and crew. It really is for me because they're not cutting Dawson knocks. They're not cuttingly Smith. They're not cutting Tyler Kroft, it really coming down to if they want to keep five tight ends and right. Or if they feel like they can try to sneak one of those guys on the practice squad because if they try to sneak, Tommy Sweeney on the practice squad. I think he's probably getting picked up. Well, if they're going to take nine offense of lineman, instead of ten this year that gives them one extra. They didn't have last year. Maybe that's where they'll use it on on offense of line slash tight end. Sure. And but, but that I mean, already keeping four they only kept at most three last year. Right. So they're already attributing another spot likely to that tight end spot. What do you think the chances are and I, I don't want to change the subject right away. We're not gonna get to all seven of them. We got the offensive line and tight ends. One last thing I want to get. He said, what does the I'll ask you this? What is the position on the Buffalo Bills? That is the deepest and has the boast quality and is the reason I ask is you got too many of these guys and a lot of teams don't have any of them, and we're gonna make a trade. I'd probably say corner, that's what I thought you would say. Yeah. Because I mean they have Travis white obviously who's, who's their number one starting going backward. No, no option up. They're going to sign him to an extent. It really all depends on how Levi Wallace develops this spring and summer because I think he has a ton of potential and the way he looked in those seven games last year. He didn't look like a rookie. It just seemed like he was always within himself. And he's just always whenever you speak with him. He's just very level headed. It's always the same never too high. Never too low. That, that's exactly the type of demeanor, you want out of cornerback and not to be totally cliche. But I mean he's also got the, the, the run tackling ability. He's got or the willingness to do it. Which is a prerequisite for Sean McDermott. He's got the long arms. He's got the height. He's getting stronger, or at least trying to and that was a point of contention for them last year. He's built like Kevin Johnson. The guy picked up from the techs long lean guy remote. So that is if you go back and look at Sean McDermott first-round, pick, right? If you go back and look at Sean McDermott history with Cornerbacks. He has always valued. Those tall lean long guys to bring into a system because as zone corner, more often than not you need that extra length ship, a pass the more strength, the more length and size. Wake up some space in his own. So that's why Levi Wallace if he shows that, that kind of veteran savvy and that stuff that Lorenzo Alexander was talking about with him early on about how he's got this self-awareness where he's continuing continuing to try and evaluate himself as to how they're going to scout him. Humility, right. Exactly. So he he has every chance to win this job. And if he does that makes one of EJ Gaines, or Kevin Johnson, potentially expendable, but then again, would you necessarily want to give up on that depth because they didn't have the cornerback last year? How many times did we see Rafael Bush playing nickel and he's a safety and they teams were just burning them left. And right in Rafael Bush is a good safety good in the big nickel scenario. But when you have in playing out of position almost on down in down out that is a weakness that teams are going to pick apart. So when you have you J Gaines, who can move inside and outside. If Taron Johnson. Becomes injured. Then you have a suitable backup there. If one of Davies's white or Levi Wallace goes down. Then you have Kevin Johnson that can play the outside and offers that physical brand. So it's I mean sure you can try and trade one of those guys, but quarterbacks get hurt in the NFL quarterbacks get hurt in the NFL a lot jobs. Steve Tasker on one bills live from one bills drive..

Diana Rossini booger McFarland. I'm Wendy next. And we will continue to track things as we make our way toward the start of a new league year. But let's begin with this because things happen as they do in real time jeopardy. Some news already this afternoon. Brown. Former patriots offensive tackle intends to sign a four year sixty six million dollar deal. That includes thirty six point seven five million dollars in guaranteed money that will make him the highest aid offensive lineman in NFL history. Of course, we saw that distinction ended out last year to Andrew norwell to need solar now that tidal year later is handed off to Trent Brown and in back to back years the patriots defensive line coach Donte score Nekia should get commission on what he's doing miracle. Guangming because he elevates these guys play and Tom Brady gets rid of the bowl very quickly. And then the outfits tackle goes the free agency and caches and is set for life and with the raiders landing Trent Brown. They've now got in Tonio round Trent Brown or no the Browns that I'm aware of the tickets time when they will been there from Stroud. Straffing from. Our from left tackle to right tackle and use Trent round at left tackle. So again changes Live for for the rain. the rain. But just was one of the top free agents in this class when he was in San Francisco in two thousand fifteen chip Kelly. I thought he's the best tackle he had ever seen Chris long when he went against them when he was with the Rams study was the best tackle played against. And he goes to New England for what a six around or fifth round pick in two million dollars. And they're gonna Super Bowl out of the patients that he commenced story. So so this this this was a trip exciting for the raiders who are trying to rebuild that offense. Would I expect? Now is that you'll say goodbye to Donald Penn? Save seven million. No, a cash there amongst the mother cash savings that they're in the process of doing. Well, I tell you what raise your hand if you've talked about the raiders over the weekend, and that will continue because listen, they're a team that's got money to spend clearly needs to rebuild and shake things up. And so far. That's what we've seen. But here's what we saw. Oh, by the way, he didn't know Antonio ground heading to the Oakland Raiders, and here's the ramifications. There always are of this deal. He gets fifty million on his new three year deal. It goes from having no guaranteed money to over thirty million dollars in guarantees. Meanwhile, the trade leaves the Steelers with over twenty one million dollars in dead money on their cabin. That's over ten percent of Pittsburgh, total cap space for the raiders they didn't have to give up a whole lot there. I four picks. No, booklets, still has four of the. I thirty five picks in the draft, including those three first round picks. So really we will see this continue to play out. But wow..

"But that's not that's so far from the truth with Andrew he does not want to be treated any better than the last guy on the Ross now thank that. Humility piece is what draws everyone to his attention. And aside from that. I mean, he's a heck of a talent as you mentioned. He he has all the twos cerebral ability, a think he's his likeability is just through the roof the one area that I think Andrew has taken a step for this past year is being able to adapt his game. You know early on. It was less dropback five seven, oh I wanted to to ball deep all the time. And you know, we saw where Gat him he didn't he weren't able to finish some season. So I think he's matured in that level. And I think at some point Andrews gotta take the bull by the horns and star raising his voice. Bit. Thank you. I this is my knock on Andrew. He always takes the blame. Yes. He is. He is almost to a fault. It's almost false humility. Yes, it is. Okay. Sometimes to call a guy out. So I was there for three years, and I've never seen him screaming at anyone for given up a sack dropping the catch. I get it. But all it takes his one time you have to do it all the time because Chokwe Gado he he didn't want coach. He wanted coaches to coach not just scream and holler. And do all that stuff is because sometimes it doesn't work an Andrew's case. All it takes us one time pie Brady barks about twice a year. Yeah. Oh I've played against Brady. And Brady will give it to the refs the offensive tackle the running back. The deepest guy. He screaming at everyone when it calls for it. And I think Andrew when he can it's not who he is. You know? So if you understand if Chris Ballard understands that's not who he is you go you go out and get offense alignment who can be Andrews kind of alter ego, and you go it's always the problem to quell Jackson eleven years in the NFL pro bowler Browns, and then the colts Antonio Brown. I have a theory on this. Okay. Is that pro athletes, you probably have friends who are pro athletes in other sports. You guys go to the Gulf events charities know, the millionaires pro athlete club. And so you have a lot of friends and you'll Andrew luck's got a golf tournament you'll go to it meet other guys. And so you probably know a few baseball guys hockey guy, some NBA actually, don't I'm not important. You're not that important. But I do have a theory on this is that NFL players. It's the most watched league, it's the most popular easily. It makes the most money. They watched Bryce Harper's contract. And there's a little Chelsea thirteen years. They watch NBA guys be be promoted marketed bigger than everybody as a little jealousy that Antonio Brown is looking at the Bryce Harper deal is looking at LeBron and he saying to himself. I get a voice NBA guys. Get a voice baseball guys. Get a voicemail yesterday. Bryce Harper said hell, ya gonna recruit might trout. I do think there are a handful of NFL. Players to get frustrated and Antonio's one of them that the NFL is popular makes the most money, and you always feel like. You can be cut any fifteen minutes..

"Giants right now i i would seriously be looking for possible upgrades and they're going to be hard to find i cornerback at offensive tackle and at linebacker because i do think the depth chart their for the giants is extremely thin in those three spots yeah i would tend to agree with you there and uh i guess you noticed that victory crews let go by the bears and that just uh it's kind of sad because he had such great potential in those injuries have just taken it out of them and the bears are desperate for receivers maybe hooks on somewhere else but uh it doesn't look good for victor cruz at this point yeah it's a shame i mean everybody's rude form for sure i think you just same thing about that richard is that it look like he might be ticketed for jacksonville or caroline during the offseason and then all of a sudden he wound up out of nowhere taken a deal in chicago and the way i understood it was they called them and said sight unseen uh we'll we'll take you and so he answered the call and the next morning he's out there on a plane of chicago when signs what the bears i thought that was kind of interesting because you know especially with the guy coming off of significant injuries and dwindling production uh usually hit gift the guy workout first my understanding was chicago promised to sign him if he just came out there and and put his name on the dotted line so that was a surprising shiny to me despite the fact that they did not have a whole lot of talented wide receiver well obviously that didn't turn out so well now did not other positions i mean you mentioned linebacker what about like third tight and things like that i had a caller hit me with atr it's show in terms of will tie and i.
