Rand Paul: What We Can Learn From South America's Failures

"Paul Senator I get your point You're right I think in the short term you're correct I don't want to be overly apocalyptic I think Biden's approval numbers are clearly indicative that the argument that we can spend money without consequence is kind of gone by the wayside But I think long-term we just the media keeps blocking running like an offensive tackle blocking the story I'll give you a perfect example not to get into global affairs but Gustavo Petrov and Columbia center the guys that devout communists He just got elected in Colombia In countries in South America some of them were just starting to turn the corner And you have this pernicious idea this socialist idea of top down authoritarianism led by big government spending and economic control that just continues to resurface around the world And you'd think after this inflation crisis we could finally put this thing to bed for once Yeah and there's so much that can be learned by looking at the failures in South America You know my wife and I wrote a book called the case against socialism and in it we tell the story of socialism in Venezuela they've destroyed their money prices are rising at 50% not a year a month there's a lack of food The average person in Venezuela has lost 30 pounds not from dieting but from lack of food And their system their economic system and socialism the generals get fat that dear leader president for life gets fat but the ordinary citizen is grounds around There are actually stories of people eating their pets for lack of food But Venezuela has more oil underground than Saudi Arabia so you can take a rich country with lots of natural resources and destroy it with socialism That's the story we need to keep talking about because some of the young people in our country think it would be a good idea to try socialism But it's been a disaster everywhere it's been tried

2022 NFL Draft Picks With Coach Chan Gailey

"On the clock. Number one again. Second year in a row. What are they going to have? Everything. I mean, seriously. Would you be asking for a trade? No. I think that quarterbacks in general have a certain level of cockiness that they need, and they thank a just get us a little bit. We can go in. And you need that kind of guy that believes in himself so much that he thinks he can take the team and get to where it needs to get to, like a Joe burrow. Joe, I mean, he's got some players around him. Just happened this past year that they got it all together. But it can happen in a short period of time that you can put together some people via free agency and draft and get what you need. To make the next step. But I think everybody would be shocked if they didn't take 8 and hutchison and I could see him taking Ed and Neil from Alabama as offensive tackle to help. Right. Because they do have Trevor Lawrence and they want to protect him. But whatever they're playing is do it. You know, don't just get enamored as you said. Don't get the shiny object out there and what just because the pundits say are going to say, God, what a stupid pick that was. If you don't pick the guy, they think you should be. Or make sure that you pick the guy you believe is going to be the best for your team. Well, always

Rashawn Slater Headlines ESPN's Top Rookie Rankings

"ESPN's Jeff legwold came out with his list of the NFL rookie rankings. These are all the rookies that have played thus far first three games, where are they ranking? Across the NFL. While sitting at number one. Yeah. Is I think the most underappreciated. Rookie. In this draft class rashawn slater. Oh, dude. It's able to do what he's doing right now. Yeah, I mean, honestly, for this list to have the number one rookie, be an offensive tackle? Right. You got to do something right. Yeah. Substantial.

"That is the late night game. That is going to be the most exciting alabama florida three thirty. Pm on cbs. Either could be a really close battle or we ended up seeing for to get smoked by alabama. And then the last one this one. I think has a good rivalry tone to it but considering nebraska sucks. This one's not very good oklahoma nebraska twelve. Pm on fox so out of all these guys. That are going to be playing. This weekend. Chris i think that the the ones that stick out to me most and you know part of me if i'm being negative but i'm watching spencer rattler. I wanna see what spencer rattler does. Because he very well could be the option for the new york giants. If we're not satisfied with daniel jones by the end of the season. I if the giants don't finish with a winning season in if daniel jones isn't at least a slightly above average in terms of his performance after three seasons. It's time to move on. That's what we saw. The bears do with mitch trubisky and now could be the time for the giants to get their justin fields. Spencer rattler could be that guy. There also have a really talented tight. End in austin stagner who i am a big fan of. So maybe the giants do keep daniel jones but austin stock. There could be a good replacement for evan ingram. Who probably will not be back. Yeah i think the even if ingram is able to get healthy for the final fifteen games. I think that might just be a question of economics. Where if he plays well enough to earn a second contract. The giants aren't going to have the money available to pay him that second contract that establish nurse on my radar i am also in. This is kind of weird to say. I'm interested in getting a good look at oklahoma's defense because they've got a few guys on their defense. Who are pretty interesting. Nick benito has a lot of tools but he is an. We'll say an unrefined pass rusher. You've got isaiah. Thomas in perry on winfrey on the defensive line and then richard sophomore woody washington in the secondary yet. The giants defense has been. We'll say disappointing to start the year and they have invested in it but if those if those investments aren't panning out you can't just leave your defense to be bad so if the giants could find some maybe value picks off of this oklahoma defense that could be worth watching especially since oklahoma and defense generally do not go together at least not lately their team. More known for turning games into track meets than defensive. Slugfest yeah no exactly regardless though. This is a really good weekend for college football. There's some really good matchups ups goes also throw in there that byu.

"Taylor moton. The panthers offensive tackle agreed to four year. Seventy two million dollar contract that included forty three million dollars at sony. And so he becomes. We believe the only franchise tag player to get a deal done before. Today's deadline now. Keeping months and other franchise deals did go on alert this season. The giants gave leonard williams of big extension. The broncos gave justin simmons of big extension but on the last day the franchise players can sign long-term extensions. This season taylor. JPMorgan's Bitcoin Journey

"What's going on guys. It is monday april twenty six and today we're talking about j. p. morgan's bitcoin journey from worse than tulips to not my cup of tea to a new client product first. Let's do the brief. I on the brief today. Sports in crypto are definitely coming together in this cycle a couple of years ago. Nfl offensive tackle russell. Kun made a now famous declaration. Pay me in bitcoin. He currently takes half of his thirteen million dollar salary and btc and half in fiat. Kansas city chiefs. Tight end sean. Culkin is taking it to the next level. And we'll be converting the entirety of his twenty twenty one base salary. Nine hundred and twenty thousand dollars into btc. Culkin is going to convert his fiat to bitcoin. Salary conversion service. This is the same service that russell uses and it means that the paychecks are automatically converted which detaches them from market movements and allows coke in his own words to stay focused on the game for their part. The kansas city chiefs are aware but their contract is still denominated in. Us dollars about the deal. Culkin said quote for me it makes sense to get paid in the hardest form of currency. And it's something that's resistant. Inflationary pressures that. I think is very relevant in this current economic environment. That wasn't the only. Nfl crypto news today as the presumptive number one draft pick from later this week. Trevor lawrence announced a sponsorship deal with block folio the bonus of which will be paid entirely incredible out clearly. There is a mainstreaming momentum. Going on all right next up on the brief w is going on in turkey. I've been keeping you posted on everything happening in turkey but it's just gotten crazier on april sixteenth. The central bank announced that crypto would be banned as a means of payment. Effective april thirtieth. Two days later turkish exchange codex went off line on april eighteenth. The ceo of that company has gone missing and there are claims of massive fraud. Sixty two people with ties to the platform have been detained now for people have been detained as part of an investigation into verbal coin. Which is another turkish exchange. But none of this has stopped. Turkish crypto usage. In fact it's gone up sharply.

What the Trent Brown trade tells us about Bill Belichick’s thinking

"Notable today trent brown. The you know pro bowl top you know. Left tackle offensive tackle in the entire. Nfl when the top guys on they traded him back to the patriots this interesting he was unhappy clearly The raiders were unhappy clearly because he's barely played so even while the raiders had like this dominant offense align at times. Trent brown was even playing for them. Sometimes you know last year. I feel like he barely played due to injuries and everything else. So the raiders weren't appreciate the effort. They felt like he could push through some of that probably. They felt like he was out of shape. You know Might may i came out and said that that when he's in shape and healthy is one of the best hackles ofo ball when he's not he's no good for you so My assumption is my guess of. I had to predict out. Trent brown will be entirely healthy next year. Because he's a patriot now and so he will not do injury concerns. He won't have all these issues because he's happy because he thinks he's on a winning team. No surprise surprise. Trent brown the patriots wearing good last year. The patriots. don't even have a quarterback sir. They don't if he can't come back. That's great but bro. You don't even know your protection. You don't even know how this even the plow because they didn't play out so hot last year now another get a lot of players back that You know took a year off because of covid. I fully assume. Bill belichick is anna. Start to repair this team. The best he can But you know the they're left guard go. I believe they decided to franchise tag him. That'll be interesting. But this always you know as a raiders fan. This kind of stuff always annoys me because players leave the traded with ever. They go to another team. Take the pay cut because he was getting paid. More with the raiders. That was annoys move. Obviously the raiders always play pay. You know a bonus they always have to pay up compared to other teams especially a successful team like the patriots so right so okay that comes with the territory. Donate to play the game. I respect that. And then you know. I hate when these guys on twitter and they started. Tweet tweeting my. They're so happy so excited. It gives me those antonio brown vibes when he left the raiders. So yeah that's it's frustrating but listen term row with some non baloch patriots at which But it's raiders all

Dallas Cowboys Reach Multi-Year Deal With Star Quarterback Dak Prescott

"Salary cabin number for two thousand and twenty one is going to be twenty two point two million dollars all right now. Head dak prescott. In franchise tag again this will happen in a procedural sense but had to cow tried to go at this with dak prescott on the franchise tag for the two thousand and twenty one season. We've talked about this a number of times. That value would have been thirty. Seven point seven million dollars so the fact that the cow is now have him onto the books. We're talking about the value that is on the books in the books. However you want to look at the books whether they're e books or physical books whatever the case may be that value is now twenty two point two million dollars now. I know that we have all said some things about the dallas cowboys but they are not complete dummies. They surely budgeted for the franchise tag value. Because let's be honest. They came about twenty four hours. We think you know. Close to having the actually placed the franchise tag and maybe carried out with that prescott. So the cowboys have room for the franchise tag at the very least so you look at that quake matt that adam schefter was kind enough to do for you. That is fifteen point. Five million dollars that the dallas cowboys suddenly have because they've got this long term deal with that prescott. This is something that we've been saying for two years now. If you do this you can. You can kick this down the road. You can prorate it you can extended you can whatever term you want to put on it. You can spread the impact of the deal out of the signing bonus of the overall guaranteed money out over the lives of the contract so it doesn't hit you all at once. That's the one killer about the franchise tag is that it is fully and completely guaranteed in franchise tag is a one year deal so the value of it last year and dak prescott was on the tag for thirty one point. Four million dollars. The two thousand twenty dallas cowboys had to absorb that value all at once and they would have had to have done it again. Here in two thousand and twenty one but because they have adjusted that they now have fifteen and a half million dollars that they were seemingly budgeting for dak prescott that now they can apply to different areas. Maybe it is a safety. Maybe it's a defensive end. Maybe it's a defensive tackle. Maybe it's you know an offensive tackle. But they want swing tackled death whatever the case may be. We know that the cowboys obviously hold the tenth overall. Pick in the draft. They could go a number of different directions there. They wanna cornerback kayla farther patrick's retain do wanna take one of the tackles and rashawn slater as all this is. This is setting up and this is an important thing. I want you to hear me here and watch me here. You cannot waste this money. If dallas cowboys the whole point and getting this done with thac prescott besides obviously establishing having the best player on your team for the foreseeable future the point in doing this is to alleviate the salary cap space now. And i don't like the term when now if you watch us often you know that but you look state of the nfc east. It is by sudha. I mean the philadelphia. Eagles are a disaster. The new york giants doping daniel jones is legitimate. The washington football team has a great team but is void of the most important position of the game and a quarterback. Maybe they'd get somebody this cycle as we all expect quarterbacks to change teams at a higher rate than usual but the case in point is at the dallas cowboys are now. We're going to see this all day on tuesday by the way and we'll talk about it of course but they're going to be overwhelming favorites to win the nfc streit and you think about the conference that they plan is really a contender in the nfc. And i mean that with all due respect to the reigning champion tampa bay buccaneers. But you've got the bucks you've got the green bay packers and then who scares you. May maybe the rams you believe in matthew stafford but the point is thinking about the afc. I mean the. Afc has the bills and the ravens and the chiefs and the titans and the steelers and the browns. I mean you could go. A number of different ways. Did the colts have carson. Wentz ends up getting his act together and so the cowboys play in the weakest division in the weaker conference and so now they have this opportunity to really kind of take their future in the here and now they have fifteen and a half million dollars that they weren't necessarily planning on having use it and if they don't use it it is all for not so i mean we are all imploring the dallas cowboys to ultimately use this salary cap space. This is a very very very luxurious gift. That they now have been afforded that they didn't previously have so shattered of course to the dallas cowboys. Let's see here let's move. I'm i wanna talk of course about the bonus the dak prescott because well. It's stupid large. I mean it's amazing. Dak prescott has now the largest signing bonus in the nfl. You look at joe flacco. Once upon a time. Got forty million. Dollars matt ryan forty six and a half. Remember if you're on the fence about this value. We've talked about this before as well. Matt ryan became the first quarterback in nfl history to average over. He had thirty but to average at least thirty million dollars per year with his new contract that he signed with the atlanta falcons in two thousand and eighteen. That was three years ago. Dak prescott signed a four six year. Deal whatever you wanna call it. That was three years ago. They matt ryan signed that he was the first quarterback to hit the thirty million dollars a year. Mark prescott just hit forty but the reality and we've been saying this forever is that there are so many deals coming around the bend. Josh allens gotta get paid. Lamar jackson's gotta get paid. Baker mayfield's got to get paid extra calories. He's going to get paid the year after that. It's going to be time for joe burrow to finally get paid and when all of those players get paid this forty million dollars a year. Mark the dak prescott got this one hundred twenty six million dollar. Total guaranteed is sixty six million dollar signing bonus all these things that are currently the top of the nfl. The most in nfl history. That's the verbiage in determining that you're hearing associated with this and it's all literally true but it's all going to get pushed down because all of these players on this list. Joe flacco matt ryan matthew stafford at fifty million signing bonus. Aaron rodgers fifty. Seven and a half russell wilson not going to be a dallas cowboy now by the way sixty five million dollars. Dak prescott topped that all of these quarterbacks in all likelihood we'll top that that's the reality of the nfl things are always moving in one direction. It is up

Isaiah Wilson Reportedly Upset With the Titans for Not Acknowledging His Birthday

"Wilson offensive tackle. We turned twenty-two on February 12th. Great twenty-two. That's one more than 21 no one cares and according to sources Isaiah had quote begun to sour a situation in Tennessee after the Titans did not wish him a happy birthday earlier this week. He tweeted quote. I'm done with football as a Titan. No further comments. He has since deleted the Tweet regardless of the birthday situation the Titans GM also put Isaiah on blast last week saying that, you know the player they drafted last year was not the player they got and that he needed to rededicate himself to being a pro football player. I can't imagine God If you're on Twitter crying about a birthday wish I can't imagine how things would have soured like just internally right when I first saw this article the first my first very thought was who and I'm sure half the team probably thinks the same thing. They're probably like Isaiah who like was this guy even a starter? Well, I remember okay, so you probably don't cuz it was a while ago, but during the draft remember it was the draft this past year of think of socially distanced, you know, everybody was at home set up that way like on a giant Zoom, right? So remember he was the one that got drafted and then the girlfriend went and sat in his lap and the mom was like hm. Like we talked about this whole thing about how you would have been just super like tiger mom to with Hudson if this girl was all up in a slap cuz she was like get up get up out of his lap. I don't remember. I don't remember. Yeah, I'm going to share my slept since then. That was a long time. I barely remember what we talked about God. I'm going to share my screen with you. Here's the part. Let me meet this. This is very compelling. Here we go. Okay, so see how she's there hugging him. Oh, yeah. I think I'm offering yes and then the moms like Scrooge back up. Get up. Get out my gosh hilarious watch Amie. We're going to replay this song and watch that she's just all about she's my boyfriend. I just hit It Rich. Oh, he's going to buy me a bitch get up out that way. "Um It was really nice to see that he was still very supportive man. You know, he text me and motivated me in the morning toe. Be ready. And you know, he was happy to see Mr C that you tweeted out in January early this month, said I'm very grateful to finish the entirety of your two healthy and strong. That being said, you're three Is where we make the statement. So the statement for your three for you is what This statement for me this year without being so specific is just showing that, um there was progression from your one year too, And I think I anticipate there's gonna be a similar jump in. Um and Accountability and and my role with with the team and from your to do your three and so I am preparing all season for that. And you know, I've had a lot of good defensively, Garrett and I'll actually go train with him. At some point in February will start training together, too. So you know, my mind set is to take what I've been able to observe from somebody I look up to, um, football stands and in a in a real world sense. Who's Gary is one of my really good friends? And you know pride that my own life I saw what it took for him to get Where where he wasn't your three to your four. And, you know, I think, um, I would like to use what I've seen and learned in my own life in my own progression in my football career. Now, are you Are you left tackle little There you were. You were able to play the right side as well. You know, You've got some decisions coming up. I think this offseason the right hand side of Garrett's got that contract on the left side. Is there a chance you could you could kick over the right hand side. We got a couple of bookends that resided together. Yeah. You know, I played my play little type of my whole college career. And, um, I'm one of the really good things about Coach Munch. I guess as soon as I got to the Broncos started cross training at both tackles and so You know, it's I got my first real live reps this year when we played the rate of the right tackle and you know I was. I was happy to finally get in there because I had never played any game that right tackle ever before, And so, um, I know it's really good experience for me, and, um now I kind of understand the difference because there's a couple of differences and Stances. And, um, you know, where do you put your body weight and you know you're using a different hand primarily to do your to do your punches with. So, um, you know, I played both titles and I prepared at both. And this offseason I'll be trying to enhance my ability to play right tackle because I know I'm comfortable left. And then by the time I'm ready to But all my, um Put all of what I bring to the table. Um up against whoever's whoever's uh across from me. I'll be able to say that I can play right tackle much better than I was able to play last year and play left tackle of the high level. I know I can play. So you kind of equalizing both of those, uh Of those skills, But those talents that's I think is a big goal for me this offseason shouting here with Calvin Anderson, Broncos offensive tackle Just a few more questions here for you, Calvin. So this this last year, I felt as though the offensive line took some some pretty important steps forward. Now, Mike Munchak, I think helped a lot for the consistency from year one to your two. And I know that Garrett talked Ah lot about that. But from your perspective, I mean, having the playtime you had and then and just being able to kind of be in that room. What can we expect from the offensive line this up coming here? Yeah, you should. I think people should be expecting even more continuity. Um, way were able to gel more this year than we even worthy a year. Prior, which again is a credit to Mike Munchak Glass think what's being built in the room? Shouldn't go on notice. Um, you know, we have way have a culture that's developing that is supporting. And, um, is making it a priority to be consistent. So that think you see that at a specific guys. Garrett Telegram. Like you start seeing the guys are Um, this this idea of consistency is being, um Is translating the people's place, So it's not just hearing it from Mike and knowing it from, you know, the um track record. He's had many fellas, a coach and all that, but also you're gonna be able to see it now, even more so and as we go into your three In our consistency on the field, So I think that's what people should expect people they should expect great things from this unit. I think we've shown flashes of that. And as we progress further with these last two years, I think we've shown more of ah, more of an opportunity. We all take seriously to be consistent. And so I think that's the biggest thing people should expect in your three. Give it away from football here. We got wind from our producer that you're actually outside the country right now. And, you know, would you recommend the place that you're currently at for a long suffering radio host, definitely trying to get away from his radio partner for a couple of weeks. Look, I'll say this man. I know my family is actually originally from the Caribbean island, So I'm currently in ST Lucia. And I don't know if I could recommend a better place for somebody if you're wanting to get away. Actually, if you like the water. Um I mean, you're never You're probably not gonna find any clearer waters anywhere on the planet so I would highly recommend it. You'll definitely be able to get away from S O. Would be a good A good idea for you, Tohru. We consider the island and I know I'm biased, but I would definitely recommend it. I jotted down there. Very cool. Well, hey, Calvin. Obviously, that was such a big performance. Against Carolina. And you're I am excited to see what you can do this this next year. I mean, Mike Munchak, we've said this awhile about you saying Well, Mike Munchak wanted you here on this team. They took you from that practice squad there in New York. They brought you here and he sees something in you and that I think for a lot of the fans that listen to this show, and Broncos country in general is very intriguing. And he's so far has obviously pushed all the right buttons with this offensive line. Can't thank you enough for the time man and enjoy the The rest of your time this offseason. We'll check in with you again here soon. Absolutely, man. I can't wait to be back on the field and you know we'll we'll stay in touch and be well, You guys are fucked. You guys. It sounds good. "I would be remiss not to mention former Broncos offensive tackle Tony Jones. Who, of course, was on those Super Bowl. 32 33 teams passed away at the age of 54, right, and it's something that you know, I got a group of guys that we stay in close contact with that. Was put out to me the day um, shed some tears because this guy was such a Monumental man in my in my life as athletes and the way that he Um Let his family was just really It really was inspirational. So Tony Jones passes away of 54 years old. He had Hey, had a blood disease. That, um Was just devastating to his body where he couldn't reproduce. Blood cells, and, um, it lasted a little over a year. It's kind of a plastic anemia. Uh, Andre. Tony was such a private guy. He just never never said anything about it. You know, talk to Crockett today, and he said that he knew something that he had a kidney transfer. On and Um Said that he was getting better, but he never, you know, he never really, really, really recovered. If you can't make blood cells, it's pretty dire. And so we found out about that today. I called some of the guys that may not have been on the text read like guys like Anthony Lynn, who Was shocked as well, who was the former head coach of the Um of the Chargers and just talk to some of my teammates, and it's just, you know, Z one of those moments where you just say, man, Just try your best to enjoy your day. And make sure that you are giving yourself every opportunity every day. To live the best data to possibly can. You know, you just never know when your time is called. You know, it's sad is that I always think to myself. You know, the folks that you didn't know were sick. And when they're gone, everybody is so surprised. To know that they were suffering for a long time in that nobody knew because they kept it to themselves, and they were private. And I would have loved to have a cup of coffee with that dude. One more time. I mean, he was It was fantastic man. I mean, T Bone was on those guys that you just kick back in the locker room with and have a laugh, And you know, it just said it's just a good spirit. A good soul. I'm talking about one of my best teammate. I played against Tony Jones since I was a rookie in the NFL and When he came to the Denver Broncos. We won two Super Bowls, and he blocked the minister of defense to almost a status day and Super Bowl 32 maybe one of the greatest performances for a guy who play left tackle his whole career. And because Gary Zimmerman couldn't really play on the right side. He moved over to help the team and he did a great job against Reggie White. And we won that football game. You know, just just the Just just a fantastic guy I and, like I say it was just a better man. Why He was memorable to me. And he is my my favorite player when I was a kid coming up. My favorite player for the Denver Broncos. War number 77. And who do you think it was Mecklenburg before that, Who would have been crazy? Crazy? Lyle Al's a toe. I loved me some while Al's a toe in that orange crush defense. Lalo Zeta war that 77 That was like one of the first football jerseys I ever had. When I was when I was growing up. I wasn't a Bronco fan, then. I became a Bronco fan in 1987. When I got a chance to see them on CBS for every Sunday with that TV, shaken and trying to figure out what's wrong with the TV. You know my thunder, baby, right? I mean that my high thunder Been e wanted a piece of that man. Soon as I saw it. I just knew I just had to have it and We watched, you know it was the game that was on every Sunday. You know, So that's that's what we watched. So all right. Well, when we come back, we will catch up with R K away. Broncos insider That is that Brandon Crystal. We will do that. We will also dive into both e A, F C and NFC championship games. They're coming up on Sunday. Antonio Brown.

Jake Wood of Team Rubicon Talks About His Latest Book "Once a Warrior"

"Would team rubicon. Welcome a dose of leadership my friend. Yeah thank you for having me on. Obviously i love having primaries here. Mix conversation really easy. I know this is going to be a good one. But man So i followed you ever since team. Rubicon kindergarten Our mutual friend pot. And you know he was involved with guys and he told me all about you. And i've been meaning to have on you for for years and i got sidetracked and you get new book. Said gosh dang. I gotta get you out here so get while i'm excited to join it's It seems like a great time to beyond the shadows of veterans day and the book coming out this week. it's no time like the present absolutely and Happy belated marine corps. Birthday by the way. Thank you two hundred forty five years young man. Oh kin well the the new book coming out once a warrior is out and highlight your story of going to iraq and then coming back and team rubicon reason why i love this book so much i love what you do is one thing i talk about on the show lot is and i think our our main obligation the only obligation where we're here is to make the place better than we found it in that seems to be something you've dove into. You came back from iraq and trying to figure out what your purpose was right in and it's like embrace this mission of trying to make the place better than you found it. How does that resonate when you hear me say that. Yeah i mean. I think there's an element of truth to that. I think there have been a couple of points in my life where you know. I thought i was at this decision. Point where i was either to pursue a life of service. Or i was going to go to do something like on wall street. You know and the first time that i hit that juncture was when i was graduating college in ultimately i decided to go join. The marine corps. Wasn't ready to go. Where a suit. And the second time was when i got out of the marine corps. I thought okay. Well you served a lot. I just got back from iraq afghanistan. i feel like. I've done my part time to go. You'll make some money. Or you know where suit and in then i kind of stumbled into team rubicon and in clearly over the last decade having been one to wear too many suits one thing. I'm curious when you were playing football. Wisconsin Right was it. Wisconsin did get that right. Yeah yeah and obviously the ward kicked off eleven had happened. You decided to go and list which. I highly commendable. But why didn't you consider becoming an officer just out of curiosity. You know there were there. Were a couple of things that lead into that I was the practical. So i i did start speaking this officer selection officers about perhaps going in as an officer and you know bear in mind like you said i played football right so i i. I started exploring this right after my final game which was on january. First two thousand five and i was an offensive tackle for wisconsin. So you can imagine. I'm six foot six two hundred ninety pounds and So i meet this captain marine captain and i tell him think i wanna be an option. He looks me up and down. I don't fit the bill or hate him. Officers are trimmed trim guys and gals right and he asked me goes you know. How fast can you run three miles. And i kind of shorted got pretty mean you know. I haven't run three miles in five years But i can tell you what my forty are dash. Time is any said what you've got to be able to run in eighteen minutes. If you want to be an officer. I said okay. Well that's that's pretty aggressive but there. If he told me i needed to do when he was. You've got to be able to do twenty pull ups to. That's that's not a problem. And then he asked me the the real question he goes. You know you play football. You have any injuries you having surgeries as well. Yeah i mean. I had my shoulder. Reconstructed is my foot reconstructed. I dislocated my other shoulder. And he just shook his head and he said you know what. You're a lot of paperwork kid. I got people lined up outside my door. Join you know to go see us right now and he never called me back. Wow a yeah. But then that was coupled with us some conversations. I was happened with with some veterans. That i knew who are coming back from iraq and afghanistan and they said you know jake if you really are looking to get into the fight in. You're looking to lead people. Their perspective was that this was a squad. War know that the company and platoon maneuver warfare was over and that this was really a squad based warrants. They said you go. Be a non commissioned officer. Be corporal or sergeant in. You'll get all the leadership that you want in. So i took that advice to heart. I i stopped trying to get that guy to call me back in. I got what i wished for. I came an nco. And i led marines and combat.

"offensive tackle" Discussed on WFAN Sports Radio_FM

"John Machado. Just tweeted this out Kyla Murray and life Fitzgerald We're talking today about if a player has ever won a high school college and pro game in the same building. They couldn't think of anyone. Murray has a chance to make that happen Monday night, John said, when the Cardinals play the Cowboys at Jerry's world at AT and T Stadium So you knew someone was going to be able to fact check this and I'm sure someone has done this before. I don't know if more have. But Omar Ruiz, who works for the NFL network, he said. Not only is Andrew Whitworth e. Always young offensive tackle for the Rams. It seems like he never H is he's been around the league. It seems like forever. He's won a game at every level at the Superdome. He won a high school. State. A college national championship game and an NFL and of C championship game all in that building, so he won. A state high school state championship in the Superdome. A national championship with Ellis you in the Superdome. And then he did win a NFC title game. That was the always memorable no pass interference call. Ram's going up against the saints. So how about that piece of information for you? Kind of like the Cowboys on Sunday night or Sunday. I should say a Monday then it's a Monday game. I like the Cowboys on Monday, though. I think a lot of people are going to pick the Cardinals. Because it's an easy pick. No, Dak Prescott. We know what the cardinalsoffense could be. Dallas is defense stinks. I think the overs a safe play there. Watch the game on the B in 20 to 13. Whenever you think for sure that the overs get a hit. You know, right away after the first quarter. Oh ho home. It's three. Nothin. Oh, it's too nothing, Maybe on a safety anticipate a lot of points. I just have a feeling adult in first start with Dallas the way he finished last week, I know was up against the Giants. They still got a ton of offensive talent there. Frank. It's a close game, but the Cowboys find the way to pull it out. That's a game. I hope that games in the forties, but if it's that in the forties, it may just be matriculated ball up. But now the field are moving very quickly. I should say up and down the field and whatever defense could maybe off a deflection. Catch a football man. Take it to the house. Maybe that's the determining factor. The foot field position Or maybe a defense gets a score. So and baseball really quickly. You gotta game six right now. Rays are up in the Syriza 32. It's scoreless so far. Last night, you had the Korea walk off home run. And then also last night. The Dodgers bats did nothing. Kershaw allowed a solo blast and then allowed two runs in the sixth inning. And the Dodgers now are down 31 to Atlanta Braves. Here's what I'm pulling for. I want a game seven between Astros and race If you listen to the show, I want to see the actors in the World Series. And then on the N L side. I would like to see Astros Dodgers, but I don't think the Braves are going to lose three games in a row. And yesterday we were talking about this. Where The baseball playoffs. They don't have the same flavor. As last year, like last year that run the nationals went on was amazing getting to Josh Hater. Then you had the NLDS where Kershaw allowed the back to back, Jax. To Anthony Rendon Bone who's now in the Angels and one soda. NLCS. I think it was a sweep. Nationals over the Cardinals in the world. Siri's You had a very good world. Siri's That was fantastic between the Astros and the Nationals. So there was a lot of fun and those playoffs last year. And this year. Whatever the reasons, maybe, Yeah, there was some moments. Hakuna with the bat Flip. The craziness between The Padres and the Dodgers. When you did have Bellenger robbed the home run. Up against Fernando Totti's junior, but You know, Yankees and Reyes was good, but I don't feel a lot of love for this MLB postseason, and usually I'm always all plugged into the MLB post season. I finally figured it out last night. Why I'm not that intrigued by it this year and has nothing to do now A cove. It has nothing to do with the 60 game season. I just think these games, don't you don't let them breathe at all. They're playing each and every day. Back to back to back to back to back to back to back. When you get a big win, and let's say a game five It's fun as a fan to enjoy the next day. You know, or at least have an off day in between. That's not happening. Where now it's every single day you play. You don't even get to digest the game. Which may be for the players. It's better because you want to try to get through this as quick as possible. However. If you're playing your loser, you probably prefer to play the next day. But as a fan, it's It's just like you can't even react and enjoy the moment or Be miserable, be upset for a day. And you quickly forget like what happens in them. Bam! It's the next game. I don't like that. I like and I know baseball. You know, you end the plan. You know, you have so many games. You got to get them in, but I kind of enjoy. We're after there is the game being ableto fully react to it for a day and then you get to the game the next day. Where Right now That's not the case. You don't even get one off day. So that's probably why I think you know, I don't think that's the deciding factor, but in my mind You know, this will probably the only time we talk about yesterday's game. We will talk about Kershaw later on the show. Do you agree with that at all kind of green that there's just no, like natural breathing on these games, like have Ah, big game and then let it breathe for a day. Then you get back to it the next day. Yeah, I agree with you. I always love when there's a little bit of buildup. It's one of the reasons I'm such a big NFL fan as you get the build up over the course of the week. But normally in the baseball postseason, you get the first two games than a little bit of a break and gets a kind of Yeah, they're all that. You know, the information took in the first two games. Some anticipation builds for Game three. And then the same thing between games five in Game six, where you build up some excitement, you have some story lines. You know, from a talk radio perspective, you get a day in a kind of go over everything that's happened in the Siri's. But this year, you just don't have that. And I think it hurts a little bit. I also think and this might be just me from a strategy standpoint, too, because, like, for example, I don't know You could have a picture. Go off three days rest. And a quick turnaround game Now it's like, all right, your pitcher pitches in Game one. It's you know, you gotta go trot him back out there in in Game four. You know if you need to go win game for you could, but Hayes. He got two days rest there, So it just It stinks on that part. Yeah, it's tougher. These managers to work around that and then maybe it's just me, but I always love when the team's playing their home stadiums them, not playing The home stadiums for me hurts a little bit. Not that badly. But you're missing. It matters that much because there wouldn't be fans or maybe that who knows what would be the case. But Yeah, The fans play such a big role, not like the rank of the season. But the MLB postseason there is that environment when everyone standing up on a on a 32 pitch, a clap and going nuts with the rally travels at everything you do sort of miss that, But I really I really do think That, you know, Let's say when you're changing sea change in sight, and you get that extra day. Just the Let the gay marinate. I think it builds up some excitement there. Or if your team that lost it's like all right after the one day misery is a guy that I can't wait for the game to see what does transpire really quickly on the NFL, though there were four positives are thought to be positive with the Indianapolis Colts is when I woke up. Saw that I'm like, Oh, yeah, we're going to get Bangles and colts Which I know is not a marquee game, but I don't want to do any of these games get postponed. Then we found out those were all false positives. Today. The Pats had one positive. James parents Now, here's my question. What happens with that? Pat's Broncos game since already moved it from last week to this week and give those teams the bye week. What.

Dallas Cowboys make handful of roster moves, activate Brown from IR

"Tyron Smith is now gone for the year it was announced on Friday two days ago Mike. McCarthy confirmed the report from NFL networks. Mike Fellow and Jane Slater Day before Mike McCarthy confirmed the tarrant Smith will undergo season ending surgery next week the cowboys are hopeful that he'll be back in two thousand and twenty one the Dallas cowboys already down there other offensive tackle in Lyle Collins Who Unlike Tyran Smith did not play a down this season. Also, it's worth mentioning that Travis Frederick. Retired shortly after Mike McCarthy took over as head coach his replacement if you want to call them that in Joe Looney. A sprained MC l. he is scheduled or slated I should say to miss the next two to three weeks just depends how that's going to go tyler beyond the cowboys fourth round rookie out of Wisconsin. Same place they got Travis. Frederick. Of course, seemingly is a much more stable option than anybody that's going to replace tarrant Smith or Lyle Collins but I bring all of this up to say that when my McCarthy. Signed his contract to be the head coach of the Dallas cowboys he did. So with likely knowledge that at the very least tired smitten, Lyle Collins would be playing for his football team and quite possibly unless you knew at the time that Travis Frederick was going to retire the Travis. Frederick. would be playing as well. So he's now down sixty percent of the offensive line he thought that he. Would have their many defensive players that are out Joe McCoy. One of the teams biggest off season signings is gone because he got hurt on the first day of practice and so this this team and where they are a month into the season is very different than the one Mike McCarthy sat down implant. That's all I'm saying it is definitely true that you have to adjust in the NFL. That's life things happen injuries happen with stuff happens that sports that's life like I said and so Mike McCarthy ultimately has to be held responsible for that because he's the head coach that's the hat that he wears, but it is worth saying and that's why I said now let's talk about some of these injuries and some of the roster moves the Dallas cowboys made ahead of this game on. Saturday day before this that you and I are talking day before game. Day the. Dallas. Cowboys made a handful of roster adjustments. It had been rumored all week long that Anthony. Browne would be returning from injured reserve and remember that injured reserve operates differently due to cove nineteen protocols and now nfl players only have to be on injured reserve for three weeks before they are eligible to return Anthony Brown. Is Eligible to return. It was speculated all week long that he would rejoin the cowboys they are in massive need of help in their secondary. So they officially Anthony Brown bag he is the first player that the Dallas cowboys have brought back off of injured reserve so far this season other candidates for this potential obviously include Sean Lee late and vanish. We'll see about cam irving things like that. But Anthony Brown I one. So the cowboys activated Anthony Brown. He is now part of the fifty three man roster, of course. So is Francis Bernard a fan favourite linebacker, undrafted free agent linebacker out of Utah many people, Francis, Bernard in the training camp portion of the year. Obviously no preseason he is. Now on the fifty three man roster, the cowboys have needed massive help in the linebacker. Department So far this season

"offensive tackle" Discussed on KOA 850 AM

"So you're playing little bit offensive tackle. You're expected to be a receiver and be able to go out and catch a football. And if you're playing in Rich Ganga relevance, your expect to be running back to But it's you know, there's multiple things you're trying to learn as its side and and I think either they're just becomes a confidence. The game slows down for you, but you understand I don't have toe not the man who would be Quentin Nelson and Manhandles Guys is rushing the passer. Ijust got rerouted. If I read about him that buys my quarterback 1/2 a second. That's the difference between Get the ball out. Not I just need to be able to track the ball, make the catch. Secure the football down the field and by the chain move and get us a first down and goal, But I don't have the house the ball every time I'm gonna be the same guy. I was in college where I'm running The deep post and split into safety is going to be selling insurance or risk their life. You know, you don't have to be that guy. Just go out there and succeeded the little things that'll build confidence and make it better. Zachary strikes me as that kind of player. Where he I mean, he's got the ability and talent to do pretty much whatever he wants in the field, Travis Kelsey's same kind of deal, but they seem like they they understand their role. There's sometimes they're just taking a pitch, and they need to do something with that. Sometimes they just need to get out. Let those guys those guys are different layers. So they've got that nasty mentality. They've got that want to be, you know, blue collar who wouldn't know fast got sound. Sometimes, but he's he's a little bit different player and he's more than that. He's one of these, an elite athlete. At a level that those guys who are elite athletes aren't And he used to put that together. Just be that you know that. That's why he needs me. Don't need to try to be those players. He's there. Be who he is He more like Darren Waller. That's we're having Ingram. That's who he is. You know it. Just be that guy be good. It would be great. Which great at You know, learn to do some of these other things. So you could be a little but you don't have to. You know, I could be the guy that they're running. Ah, option sweep shovel pitch. For you. Don't you don't have to be that guy. You know, you know, you know what to do with Kelsey, right? And you don't have to be Earth's where you're you're the the pic man and the downfield screen. You know the illegal pick, man that out if you don't have to do you want to be a guy Just just go out there. Catch the football go out there until the blocks where you need to, and and and let the game come to you be confident the areas where your weekend you struggle at tracking the football near quite their practices Got stuff. But you noticed with a lot of these titans that I'm listening. They Khun B, a number one for a team. So George kills an example of guy who's the number one target tight And I mean, that is I, and there was a lot of miss evaluation on him coming out, You know, I mean, he's just a complete 360 degree three dimensional Titanic. I can block he catches Ron. You can you know all those things, But my point of this is Can know a fant be that in some games that like like, say, maybe, for example, because they can't be George Kettles, a blocker. But when the hand B is as productive as those guys in terms of acquiring yardage, that's my point. If there's a way to utilize everything that you just laid out of no offence, abilities as we're going to exploit this, they're going to multiple times in the game and get a ton of targets this year. Yeah. He's going to be that guy. He's going to be a feature of focus. Everybody's talking about courting sudden. And Jerry Judy KJ him. Dude, I'm telling you, the player to buy alot is no offense. Because he is going to get those tar. They're going to force feed him. That is the Pat Shurmur offense. They love that tight end screen loves it. He could not have case Keenum in Sam Bradford throwing that thing enough. So you're going to get tired of the targets that fan gets You know, you sure like to see Jerry do to get some of the backsides led, you know, it's gonna be. He's the guy to invest it. He's going to get the target. We'll see if he could become the guy that we think you can. But he's going to get the targets. It's funny reading some of these quotes from the execs and NFL coaches talking about Evan Ingram, because you just said, and honestly what? I I remember asking Pat Shurmur, his introductory press conference. You know, we actually got to go in person to these things, right? I remember asking him. Does he remind you all of Evan Ingram, another first round draft pick, and he said, Absolutely. It's funny going through this because they describe Evan Ingram is not a tight end. He described is just a big receiver. Well, I mean, he's that's what he is. And the current Tight end air quotes We don't run in line off strongly guy anymore, you know, and and split back pro set. We don't run that kind of stuff anymore. So the current tight end has to be a guy that you could pull up next to it. Be a willing block, or at least that you could pull it this time, but also really just got to be an off the line. Why? I mean that that really what you have to be. And Jimmy Graham. Kind of set the mold for that, But you better keep room something that the guys that are like that. We've seen the transition that over the years really, just guys that are bigger, maybe a step slower. In terms of their overall speed, But the reality is they're just kind of jacked up receivers. You know Mike Williams, the guys that you see now he would be a tight and that's what he would be. It would be that off the line. Why it's what he'd be in the program. There's actually a role for him. That didn't exist in previous years because you were still trying to pigeonhole guys in the you know strong, I wee guy you know, in line tight ends and stuff like that. You have to be able to do that a little bit, which no has done wrong. But most most offenses these days, the most popular The most popular personnel packages are 12 and 11. Right, which is too tight ends single single back case and shotgun three wide. No running back, and so you have to be able to split out. And if you're not, then they're going to find guys that can do that. And so, like even the Kubiak offenses still uses too tight, You know, 12 personal too tight. They still spoke about. So, you know, I think that that's the thing you saw the Njoku trade demands of what I did See that I don't want sure if that story got dropped the way he dropped football. Well done, sir. Well done. We'll get to Ben's best bet of the day also will let take a look at the quarterbacks touching quarterbacks, according to ESPN. the reason behind that because I feel like great remote place so well last year the inside linebacker spot next week wanted Sam backer making more let's move him in that spot could you know stay we accord transitioning out when she left tackle has currently split right forty five younger than Joe Staley you lose that calorie cap hit that one getting with check your player Greenlaw you could houses here at that outside linebacker follow mobile nine games in the regular season and it could really well at that line up and you get a card or a office to tackle replacing here too we try to win you can keep a guard for the remainder is career yeah I saw also a hobby here here's what I would say about all that I think there's some reason behind everything you're saying so that's clearly well thought out I don't love the idea first and foremost original projection that you talked about was the forty Niners making a pick at both thirteen and thirty one I'm gonna trust not a male co who said earlier this week there's a one hundred percent chance that they trade at least one of those pets so now that's what you're talking about and and sure Trent Williams of the of the Redskins appears to be on the block and available and the kwon Alexander name came up earlier this week as well for Mike Lombardi I don't love it for a few reasons right now I'm your moving too many pieces around putting stay away in a spot where you've never seen them you're putting words when she had a spot where you've never seen them they like school and broad scale what happens to those guys your you if you do give up on the on Kwan and I realize it's a trade that changes some things a little bit but you you're basically reading yourself of one large contract just to bring in another one but what I really don't love about it is that if the forty Niners are going to make a trade in the first round I want pics I want more pics and I think they do also when your cash strapped and you're getting ready for George Kittle and his extension you want more cheap labor without a better way to say it more cheap labor they want more picks because they need production out of guys who aren't going to make a lot of money so getting rid of one of those contracts just to replace it with another one and not only making the move but not really gaining any draft capital because of it I'm personally not a fan of that I would love to see in fact I I'm kinda high on them trading thirteen because you can get a hall you can go from thirteen to sixteen or seventeen and pick up two more picks and what are you really losing their depending on who it is you may want but I think that's huge in this draft the forty Niners right now are not in the second third and fourth rounds they need to be at they need to be at and and so I think they will be for me any trade they make needs to bring draft capital with it unless you're straight up going player for player Matt breeder for OJ Howard or something like that all right coming up just off the top of the hour we're gonna get into some of these some of the best NFL draft prop bets well the draft to be hacked well the number one overall pick cry total round one trades how many draftees will be seen in a tie total dogs shown during the first round I wish there was one for kids because they run into the room to you now I know we've seen that on every talk show in America all well any draftee be shown drinking beer I hope so well pizza be seated in a drafty home well you put a camera on mine the answer is yes but I'm not getting drafted tomorrow we'll get into all of those coming up later on after the top of the hour coming up next Steve powers solo pro football focus he's fantastic and he's next all these wars later.

"The dolphins coming in with Pick number five. They have a lot of needs to. What are they going to do with that quarterback position? You know what they do. They desperately need a quarter of quarterback. There there's no doubt they they do have. I don't know if this makes you feel any better about their situation. They have Josh Rosen. They have Ryan Fitzpatrick. Are Those guys? You're going to build around probably not. I'm hearing that there's any from Justin. Herbert to to attack overall is going to be there. I think the dolphins are going to surprise a lot of people. They're going to get the unsexy pick here. And they're going to take an offensive lineman out of the first round as well. I wouldn't be that shocked overall. I I could see this team doing it but I keep going back and forth to be quite honest with you of what this what they might do because that quarter quarterback is so important obviously for your franchise as you build but the bottom line is the dolphins have a lot of needs. You know they want to take a quarter. But you know you're hearing you're hearing all this thing about the Wunderlich score you're hearing about the you know. Obviously the injury is there. They have three first rounders. So could they wait a late around and see? What happens to some of these quarterbacks down there or do they just flat out go with a guy that could be more of a sure thing for them at the end? I like Andrew Thomas. The offensive tackle. I think they're gonNA go with the Linemen and the Miami Dolphins fans are GonNa be very upset but this is based on everything that I continue to read. They have sent sent up a lot of smokescreens but I could see them going with an offensive Lineman to say listen. We're we're going to be an interesting spot here either way we go. We're just trying to figure out the next step for us in our rebuild process and a process so I could see this team doing that but I think they go with Andrew. Thomas the tackle out of

"It's interesting that you say that because one of the guys I liked most in the draft was Trevan in Waco the tight end from West Virginia who's just like a blocking monster but you can also put him at fullback. I mean so it's just that's one of my favorite positions right now. It's just that guy who can do a little bit of both it's your fullback and your age back these move around and trust me. No one in the world wants nice to hear. There should be more personnel than this guy so hearing. You say that makes me very very happy. I really think that you're right. I mean it is if you go and you look at what what it in early two thousand you had just he had almost too much threat. It was all ten personnel and people were realizing well. We can't run the ball if you don't run the ball. You're basically three point shooting team meaning that if your knife you'll have a bunch of three point shooters by what happened to look what happened to the warriors they lost Tutus. They couldn't shoot anymore. They lost lost in. I think it comes down to that more and more teams and our I'll never forget this at Baylor when we went to eleven personnel and we've put that blocking tied in basically a glorified offensive tackle in the backfield it changed the offense completely even more explosives because now you have to honor the next guy in the box and I think that's why twelve personnel with a high which will now you can find these hybrid tight ends. They can play receiver. I think that's really where it's going to be now. You can run the ball but now you also have a guy. That's a matchup monster defensively and they have to figure out what they're gonNA do awesome again. This was fantastic. I can tell you I learned a significant amount as Kevin said we talked a lot about offense on this show so it's nice to actually pivot a little bit once in a while the to be clear to clear offensive will resume next week back to continue to talk about offense but it's nice to have a little variety absolutely thank you so much of the time really appreciate it yeah anytime guys anytime awesome..

"That safety. Take the best guy at that spot. Available in round two. Yeah. I mean, they're they're like uncomfortable. How good of a spot that there? I mean, the people making the decision decisions are not. But the fans just like don't even understand what to do because they've made a like fifteen years off of just dying for the first round of the draft in early. And what are we going to do who's our quarterback? And now they're kind of in good shape. It's crazy, but corner I corner and safety. I agree. I think you you get Denzel warden great pick last year. We all thought that they were going to go with the edge rusher. They went with the corner, and he wants to having a great first year. TJ? Carey was a good player. I think very overlooked from year ago, but they could use a number three or upgrade care over carrying and move him to the nickel spot, and then safety is you mentioned offensive tackle linebacker. Those are going to be the spots that you probably see them go. But they're they're Finally, I mean, it's been forever. But there. Finally in a position where they could actually just take a good football player at pretty most positions and be okay with it because they're not desperate for a quarterback or two or three other really severe position needs the Cincinnati Bengals. I don't know I'll start with you. But this this is the team where you don't know whether to set the win total of five or eight. I mean, I really mean that a sense that it on the upside on the upside you have all these guys that seem like maybe there's another gear to be found in there. And then on the downside, you say all right as Andy Dalton Pete as Gino Atkins at thirty one peaked has AJ green Pete as even a guy like cordy Glenn peaked. I mean, you really don't know with this team. So again, and we also don't know how to evaluate them. They've had such a similar coaching situation for years and years and years not just from the from Marvin Lewis perspective, but also consists of runs of assistance, and you don't know if they got Sean McVay or if they're chasing, Sean McVay. I just don't know where to go with this team. Where are you going starting a number eleven overall? Yeah. Projections in August will probably have them in the cellar in this division. That's just the way it's going to be you know, Baltimore is not going. To be in a seller of the Pittsburgh Steelers, aren't and you know, the Cleveland Browns, aren't there the favorite to win the north. So they have seen nor. So it's going to be the Bengals. Former patriots offensive tackle intends to sign a four year sixty six million dollar deal. That includes thirty six point seven five million dollars in guaranteed money that will make him the highest aid offensive lineman in NFL history. Of course, we saw that distinction ended out last year to Andrew norwell to need solar now that tidal year later is handed off to Trent Brown and in back to back years the patriots defensive line coach Donte score Nekia should get commission on what he's doing miracle. Guangming because he elevates these guys play and Tom Brady gets rid of the bowl very quickly. And then the outfits tackle goes the free agency and caches and is set for life and with the raiders landing Trent Brown. They've now got in Tonio round Trent Brown or no the Browns that I'm aware of the tickets time when they will been there from Stroud. Straffing from. Our from left tackle to right tackle and use Trent round at left tackle. So again changes Live for for the rain. the rain. But just was one of the top free agents in this class when he was in San Francisco in two thousand fifteen chip Kelly. And he goes to New England for what a six around or fifth round pick in two million dollars. And they're gonna Super Bowl out of the patients that he commenced story. So so this this this was a trip exciting for the raiders who are trying to rebuild that offense. Would I expect? Now is that you'll say goodbye to Donald Penn? Save seven million. No, a cash there amongst the mother cash savings that they're in the process of doing. Well, I tell you what raise your hand if you've talked about the raiders over the weekend, and that will continue because listen, they're a team that's got money to spend clearly needs to rebuild and shake things up. And so far. That's what we've seen. But here's what we saw. Oh, by the way, he didn't know Antonio ground heading to the Oakland Raiders, and here's the ramifications. There always are of this deal. He gets fifty million on his new three year deal. It goes from having no guaranteed money to over thirty million dollars in guarantees. Meanwhile, the trade leaves the Steelers with over twenty one million dollars in dead money on their cabin. That's over ten percent of Pittsburgh, total cap space for the raiders they didn't have to give up a whole lot there. I four picks. No, booklets, still has four of the.
