"Myself and the crew in in dollars really special time berlin. But i think. I also didn't get to read the entire script. I only got part of the script. So i read the book and loved the book and was excited about you. Know what. I was going to do with shabelle but You know it wasn't until november. Was october november that it really started to take off and and these incredible numbers were showing up that also beth and i watched it. Which is something we don't ever really do. We watched it and we watched all of it in like a day and a half. It's like so many of us it's you can't stop. I mean i guess when you were going to work on this was particularly challenging in the sense that we don't know that much about this guy. he's not particularly talkative. I mean is this is thing where you have to create a bit of a back story of your own in all honesty. No i didn't create a lot of story. there are parts where i do more backstory. Because it's it's more relevant because it comes up and they're a little bits and pieces of it that will show up somebody else to talk about it or whatever but with him. No wasn't there at all. And i loved that mystery about him and in a way when i was first writing was like you know it. Provokes the imagination of the reader or the watcher with somebody like that as to all sorts of different things that could happen or what that story is. What is this guy's history. What's he gonna do. He works in an orphanage. she's a janitor. It's like you can talk to anybody. What's going on with this guy and he sits alone in the basement playing chess by himself and and is Not very inviting at all. And then and then he fools us. You know or surprises us with his generosity. And the unconditional You know generosity that he gives her. It's all unconditional. It's all just really The engine is the love of the game and the passing on of the knowledge. And what that that. Knowledge may be able to provide her with because he sees in recognizes her special gift and that he he's almost obliged to pass this onto to her. I think that's what he realizes. Pretty quickly is that her. Persistence and steadfastness is driven by something. Which is her special relationship to the game at her intelligence however that may be manifested given her you know genealogy indiana with their mom and math and physics and all of that stuff in the way your brain works combined with the drugs but ultimately i think lies there anyways and i think he opens he feels obliged to give that to provide when you're playing this guy and he's obviously not a man of many words like it seems. Am i imagining that..

Retail sales better than expected in January

"Here to discuss. The latest figures is wall street journal. Reporter harriet tori. She covers the federal reserve and us economy farm. Our washington dc bureau. Harry thanks so for joining us. Hi so retail spending is op. And i'm wondering what people are buying. Well the re buying things across the board. I mean this month was amazing. These strong we saw a five point. Three percent. Seasonally-adjusted increase From a month earlier in every category did well which is unusual in retail sales. But there are. Some country agrees the did kind of well that was Furniture electronics we saw big increase in a lot of categories that related to the home. This is a trend that we've seen during the coronavirus. Pandemic is that people who are working from home and studying from home and just spending more time at home generally a spending a lot of money on making their home spaces better improving them. Buying things like new. Tv's new workout equipment renovating different rooms and things like that. So we definitely saw that reflected in the january retail sales report. What did you think when you saw the figure of five point three percent. I was really surprised because the economists expectations were for an increase of two percent. And of course this is coming off a pretty bad holiday season. We saw declines in retail sales in october november and december which is really unusual. Because that's normally a time. When people are out shopping and spending on halloween and thanksgiving and christmas and so on but clearly. You know economists saying what we're seeing here is the impact of six hundred dollars. Stimulus checks that. Many households received another january because this appears to be related to the stimulus payments. I want to ask you about the purpose of the stimulus. Is it meant to help. Businesses or individuals. Are both economists. Are saying that this is definitely a sign that this to municipalities to be working one concern that people had about the first round of stimulus. Checks came through in march. Two thousand twenty was that a very large share of them were saved. They went straight into savings accounts. A man appeared to be because there was just a lot of uncertainty. The unemployment rate was extremely high. People were very very cautious so they want us to take that money and put it in their bank accounts they would have just in case things got even was also a relatively large serve is used to pay down debt but we'll miss seeing now appears to be more people actually spending the money this could be reflection of the fact that vaccines beginning to roll out so people feeling might. Maybe there's light at the end of the tunnel. Also the improvement in the labor market. It seems like people who have just a bit more comfortable now as she taking that money once it hits that bank account and going and spending it on things that they need. Can you put these new sales numbers in context for us. We often see them. Revised offer down after the fact the month to month data can be volatile definitely and it is subject to larger visions and we were a revision of the december number as well but over will the signal that this report sentences. That january was a really surprisingly strong month for retail spending and it just shows the american consumers Very much in the driving seat of potential growth in the first

"Why when the principal came in it costs such big backlash and respond trump. The protesters the principles k. What good intentions. And they wanted the students. Who have you save physically. But what they didn't have they have what they haven't considered was the emotional needs of the students what they've experienced throughout what had happened and the the spirit throughout the protests that they were supposed to stay together until the very end some of them were brought out quote unquote safely within their safe. A lot of them went through a very huge trauma where the whole threat had collapsed and they felt like they were betraying their own senator students for the team. It's always been a question the fact that the principals came in at this acidic timing. And that's the best to luton or could there happen another possibility. The filmmakers interested in touch with the protesters. What happened to them. Since we know a lot will phases legal consequences are still going through the Oh costs us were because there were so many arrests from the protest. There's a huge queue. Took go to court. So a lot of them are still waiting for their trials waiting for their court date and they've just been reporting themselves every month at the police station. Some has already left. does it eat. A lot of them are still trying to recover from the trauma whether or not. They stayed in a campus. Or if they've left what principles or left it any other means or ways. What i if on quite extraordinary as you pointed is well is the difference in generations in how to handle the situation. Is it generally true. To throughout hong kong say that varies a difference in attitude between the generations in how to do with this ever changing situation with a more thorough -tarian style of government. We actually don't feel like it's a generation difference because especially by the time When paulie you had happened actually every age group every across the city whether they're just housewives or older generations. They're all trying very hard in their own ways contribued even if they're not as the campus. There are a lot of people trying to help. Students are protesting to flee the campus. They were bringing resources in food in. They were finding ways to help them escape from the campus. And i think every week we feel that everyone in their own growth and in their own ways or a try and to contribute and participate in the protest actually contrastingly from throughout the years when there were available before in two thousand fourteen from what we saw this time there was a lot more slowly verity unity. What we saw in previous movements was that there were a lot of arguments and different approach and they would. This agreed so much that they will try to stop each other from doing what they wanted to do. But from and from this movement what we saw was not there were disagreements but they would still try to be If as they can for each other and even if they disagree they win stopped each other from doing what they want to do. We wanted to add. This is a process that we see throughout from jilin to the nineteenth to october november. There's actually been a change in the earliest age. There were still a lot of argument. But someone quickly out..

As NPR's Scott Horsley reports, the Dow was up more than 300 points in early trading. The U. S economy grew just under 1% during October, November and December of last year. That's a marked down shift from the previous three months when the economy grew nearly 7.5% as businesses reopened following pandemic lockdowns in the spring, a surgeon new Corona virus infections continues to weigh on in person services like restaurants. All told, the economy ended 2020 about 2.5% smaller than when the year began.

Why Does the Year Start on January 1?

"Every year. The earth orbits around the sun and we celebrate each revolution on new year's day. But what's so special about this particular spot in our orbit. Why do we use january first as the start of our year as opposed to some other day as we go back in history. Most human civilizations did not use a solar calendar they used. Lunar calendar's in fact if you look at the traditional calendars for countries such as china vietnam or for religion such as judaism and islam. They have lunar calendars and their new year's day changes it state every year. Our current calendar can be traced back to ancient rome. The very early romans way back at the founding of the city used to have ten months and that ten months system is still reflected in many of the names of our months today. Their first month was marcus named after the god mars which we call march after march came the months of april ass- maya's and junius the months after this. We're just named after their number until he has sex tellus september october november and december so yeah december are twelve months really means the ten months in latin likewise with november october and september however. Ten months didn't really fit nicely into a year. They had two full months worth of leftover dates. That didn't really fit into any month to rectify this around the year. Seven hundred pc. The roman king numa added two more months to the counter. I annual areas named after the roman god janus and february's which was now the last and shortest month of the year for romans. The beginning of each month was called the callan's so the start of the year was the callans of march or mark. I then at some point and no one is quite sure. When the year began being counted on the calendar of i warious january went from being the eleventh month to being the first month. This might have had something to do with the start of terms for consoles. Romans named their years after the two consuls and power instead of numbering them so for example the year fifty nine bc. Julius caesar wisconsin with kelp. Biblis it was known as the year of caesar bibi however was weak so there was a running joke that it was the year of julius. Caesar it might also had something to do with the fact that january i was the callans closest to the winter solstice. Caesar is actually really important to this story. While the names of the months were very similar to the months we have today. The keller itself was still a mess. Caesar instituted changes to fix this problem. Anti adopted the suggestions of a greek astronomer named side of alexandria suggested going to a tropical year more on that in a bit and created the three hundred sixty five day year with a leap year every fourth year. So that's pretty much. The story right. The roman set january is the first day of the year julius. Caesar sets the julian calender. And we get to where we are today. Nope because in the middle ages the system fell apart completely at the five sixty seven council of tours and there were a whole bunch of different councils of tours so you have to specify. The church declared that january. I was not to be celebrated as the new year as it was a pagan tradition. What replace january first. Well nothing there were. A whole bunch of different days celebrated oliver europe for centuries. Some places used christmas. Which was the winter solstice on. The julian calendar some use the floating date of easter someone back to the old roman march first. And some if you remember back to the episode on why. Christmas is on december twenty fifth us. The important date of march twenty-fifth start of the new year eventually. For a whole host of reasons pope gregory the thirteenth the problems with the julian calender and use the opportunity to standardize the new year back to being january first for good measure. They also made january first holiday which it still is. Today originally january. I was the feast of the circumcision of jesus. But now it's just called the solemnity of mary. Of course not. Everyone was on board with the new calendar. Catholic countries were quick to adopt it but protestant and orthodox countries were not in particular. One country was very late to adopt january first as the beginning of the new year. That country was england. England celebrated their new year on march twenty fifth. In fact their colonies in the americas. Did this as well up until seventeen. Fifty two in seventeen. Fifty england passed what was known as the calendar new style. Act also known as chesterfield's act which is when they adopted the gregorian calendar. The very first thing mentioned in the act was the problem with using march twenty fifth as the new year when everyone else in europe used january first including scotland so when england finally adopted january first as the start of the new year. So did the american colonies for the first time today. Most countries now use the gregorian calendar even if it's only for business purposes to stay instinct with the rest of the world new year celebration such as ted in vietnam chinese new year or rosh hashanah are still traditional festivities held on different days all over the world. The fact remains that there's nothing astronomically significant about january first even though it celebrating an astronomical event aka revolution around the sun so if we were starting new calendar from scratch. What would we pick before. I mentioned that sausage unease of alexandria suggested we celebrate a tropical year and pick that word carefully as opposed to a solar year because there are two types of solar years and they're very similar a tropical year is the time from one season to the next based on win the solstices occur. The current years based on the gregorian calendar are tropical years. However there's also a thing known as ideal year which is when we measure the position of earth based on the location of stars the difference between a ideal year and a tropical year is very small. He said you real year is only twenty minutes longer. This can add up. However the difference between the julian calendar and the gregorian calendar is only eleven minutes per year and that caused a lot of problems over the centuries this has to do with the procession of the orbit that is constantly changing their to logical places to define a new year based on astronomic principles. The i would be one of the solstices. This is something that humans have pictured for thousands of years and have recognized its importance. The winter solstice also is in too far away from january. First the solstice really has more to do with the tilt of the earth however and not the orbit of earth there is something significant about the orbited the earth. That is a point. We could use and oddly enough. It's really close to january. First even though the ancients had no clue the orbit of the earth around the sun is close to circular but it isn't perfectly circular it's a slight ellipse hence there is a point where the earth is closest to the sun. And it's called the para helium perihelion in the year. Twenty twenty one takes place on january second the date of para helium drifts. Over time in the year twelve forty-six para helium actually took place on the same date as the salsas in the year. Six thousand four hundred and thirty it will take place. On the spring equinox so january first is the start of our year which marks astronomical event even though the data itself has no astronomical significance set by the romans abandoned by the church only to be later adopted once again by the church so as the romans did celebrate the callans of january which honors janice the roman god with two faces one which looks into the past at the old year and one which looks into the future at the new

Tahinis Restaurants Puts It's Entire Cash Reserves Into Bitcoin

"I think is this. Is chris coney speaking welcome back so you guys might have seen michael salo over the news media outlets recently. The ceo micro strategy You might be familiar with this already. So i'm not going to reiterate. The whole thing is about micro strategy put in most of that corporate cash reserves into bitcoin and then they make a business case for that so yes. We all familiar with that. We were just waiting for that first. Domino to start hitting and snowballing to other companies which is now happening. I was just browsing the old twitter as i do and chemicals this tweet from to heaney's restaurants who basically have just done the same thing and they have this tweet storms. I'm going to read out to you as to why they've done. What's microsoft's don as well now to heaney's restaurants. I've never headed them. But as far as i can tell. A canadian based company is a franchise of mediterranean restaurants. So that we go thus thus who. Who's talking here. So if you want to follow these guys check the tweets out. It's at the real to heaney's which ta h- h. I n i s to heaney's the real to heaney's that's the twitter handle so check this out. This is from the first of december. This was yesterday at five pm. Uk time so it says we converted our entire reserves to bitcoin in august. Twenty twenty. and since then we've been ridiculed and cold irresponsible fools in our community our reserves in dollah. Tam's doubled since then. Here's why we continue to buy bitcoin forever. Time for a threat. So festival says right that they did in august. Why is it took me this long to hear about it. Have you guys head about this already. Let me know if you already had about this book. This is the first. I've heard about it. And that's what august. September october november four five months ago. They did this. Maybe they just didn't say anything and didn't wanna say anything but it sounds like 'cause we've been ridiculed for it. Well they must've told somebody that follow is all the clients customers knew about it but i didn't say that we got so he goes the tweet storm the first thing they say is our current macroeconomic environment implies that there's going to be a ten to fifteen percent expansion twala monetary supply every year for the next three to five years in breakfast or more assets are going to inflate. Bitcoin is digital gold. And it's going to have the highest real yield because tween You can't pick any more of it old. The other investments are overvalued trades bonds our ethical stocks are grossly valued. Gold is a shitty says shitty store value that debases by two percent a year. Gold is a twenty twenty scam. You'll see governments and institutions pumping it to dump on retail investors who are misinformed because bitcoin is a thousand times better across all aspects. All these investments have some upside and more downside. In our opinion there is no way for the average person to get an etch. Bitcoin hasn't asymmetric proposition. You can get an edge here because it has a history that scared most people away. It hasn't been embraced by all the institutional community. That's changing fast. Now if you confront run this will this shift. Then you have an edge. It's being traditionally difficult to buy an old people can't pick up the phone and buy it if you go through the trouble of how to acquire insecure. It's that will give you an edge. It has all the technology upside of apple. Google facebook and amazon combined from a decade ago. And you saw what they did over the last decade. I get tweet namik says bitcoin is the so. That's a that's a combination. The fast fiber didn't i didn't segment in the b- go twenty six as they go on. Bitcoin is the successful successful digital monetary network. If you come into it right now you'll coming in at least so you're coming in at three hundred and fifty billion market cap. And it's unstoppable at this point so it makes sense to be at the ailey to this threat. Trend bowed pony trend. No threat as the price goes up. The value of the offering goes up because liquidity is the value proposition. This is an example of something where the higher the price the mo- value. We get the more people want to have it. And the more robust against this is not true with a stock as the price of a stock goes up it dilemma from its cash flow and it's p. price-to-earnings ratio goes from twenty to forty to sixty to a hundred as with many things as the price goes up. The risk gets higher with bitcoin. As the price goes up the gets lower. It's such a simple beautifully engineered. Winder that doesn't have all the competitive risks that so many other things have because it is so very simple is just twenty one million gold coins in cyberspace which divide all of the competitors. Bitcoin is the winner. They go on by one or a fraction of one and as people adopt the network value proposition increases as the technology gets better. The value proposition increases and his people like get more productive. They'll swap more cash flows into it and the value proposition increases. They go on to say and essential banks print more money. The value proposition increases again. That's just an elevator pitch. The bitcoin rabbit hole goes a lot deeper. If you're interested dilemma. Let us know we would like to thank the cyber hornets. The honey badges the huddle as the maximalists the developers and the good economists without them we would still be in the duck. Educate yourself look is when knowledge meets opportunity also followers for some amazing content. So they we got. They don't specify in this tweet stone. Exactly how much money into has millions of dollars they put into. Bitcoin as reserves micro strategy did actually say how much they put in. All this says in the fest we is. We've converted our entire reserves to bitcoin. So you know. One hundred percent of their reserves. So i suppose that means more doesn't it. What proportion of the company's assets will preserve the cash reserves. They put into bitcoin not the amount. 'cause if micro strategy said we've bought five hundred million dollars worth of bitcoin and that was only ten or twenty percent of their their reserves. It would make me less than putting all right. So i think that's a good metric. What proportion of the companies reserves not. How much money do they invest in it. Because that's more this objective risk that the company is taking rather than the objective value placed on the stack of money right so that we got restaurants the next company to put all of the business currency reserves into bitcoin. Who's going to be next. Who do you think's going to be next. Let me know.

People Fear What They Dont Know

"People being afraid of things that they don't understand. Yeah that's that's a great topic because in industry when you're talking to other land investors you've you certain types of jargon and a lot of times we don't remember that the public doesn't understand that type of jargon so we can use that to our advantage in some situations but it hurts us in more situations than not for instance. I know you're like okay. What do you mean by that. I could see the look on your face. After i was just i was gonna ask her an example exam so like on a on a by side. Yeah we've got to do all the paperwork for that affidavit airship you know. It's going to be really tough to get this through. But you're working with the pros. This is what we are made to do. We can get that taken care of because getting a title were cleaned up and everything. It's tough but you're working with the right team to get this done. Let's signed a purchase agreement. Let me get it done well. It's laugh at airships. Just a page They just gotta know somebody. That's not making money off this and they can sign it. Not a big deal. But they don't know that they think it's as big ordeal to get all this stuff done and we know it is what it is. Yeah yeah i mean. I feel like the more you know about a subject the more you can talk yourself out of a cell okay. I'm a big opponent of less is more like i want them to be the talker. If i'm trying to sell some land. I'll just give them the bare minimum. I don't wanna be if. I catch myself talking too much. I feel like i'm losing it already. Okay and so. That's why like the best ads. i've ever run or just just enough to get them excited. When i'm selling land. I'm i don't know man go check it out like don't ask me. It's the same like when you're trying to get someone to join the education you want someone to sell themselves on a basically right and so i don't know sometimes you see these. Ads like listing ads or whatever they're a mile long. I'm bored halfway through it on. Probably moving on at that point. Yeah no i get that. And so the flip side of that. When i when you say that i think of ads where we put so much information in it and you start using terminology that in like oh shit as an investor. I'm scared because i don't know what it is and i don't want to seem dumb for asking. I'm not gonna ask them. Do you just said and move on. And that's the that's one of those things for me that there's a fine balance in what we can provide. You wanna be knowledgeable topic to talk to it to make sure that they're they're comfortable with it but also in a way that you're dumbing it down to the person's level of comprehension. Yeah if you're talking about things that only a land investor or i don't know anything real real estate professional real estate consultant If you're talking about the things that only those people can relate to than you've missed your target on people's is already glazed over you know and you don't want that you want them to stay excited about it. Let their imagination run wild and in my experience. The only way to let that happen is just give enough information feed. Don't lie to him and don't leave things out but you're leading them in a direction to let their mind wander beautiful forty acre property. It's got. It's got a nice meadow in some trees. There's a perfect place to build your cabin. I do see this a lot to with them when you talk like say for example. While i'm i'll use our education that goes ample right someone. We talked to hear it. They sound great right. We're obviously we're not lying about the stuff we're doing it every day. it will. Then they tell their friends who have never heard of. This are never done this now. The sudden they're friends start talking way down. There's no no way in hell. This works or scam artist. Right that happens with land to buy forty acres out in the middle of nowhere for fifteen thousand dollars. Nah no way it has to be. Nobody's going to tell you that. That's and that's like you hit the nail on header. Go look at it. Tell me what you think. Let me know when you're ready to make an offer. You just did that. I did it on the phone goes. Hey man you got this. This differ seventeen thousand dollars a year. It's up next to some. Bela is gonna hunt on it. Yes you can. It's yours to hunt on. Plus you got the land on all right next to you. Okay cool well. Can i make an offer. Have you looked at the property. It will no. But i was thinking about going but i i want to know if the owner will make an offer while i'm the owner telling you go look at it. Make sure what you want and then shoot me an offer. Let's talk about it. Okay actually made an offer right then. Yeah yeah we'll take that let's go. Let's say money on a deal. I was about to jump in now. He he doesn't have any land there. But i do say size. Do you have something here right now. I've got someone who's defaulted. They'll make the payment. They've i find the my most default for the entire year are october-november really. I don't know people are trying to save for christmas. Save or they spent that money on christmas stuff. But i mean. I've got a maybe a third or late right now. Wow i don't have anything late right now but i did give my people that were a little bit trouble. People i gave them a breakthrough kovic so already know that they were three months behind. I have one guy. He's starting a business having a shift bank account so he asked me if you could send me he. He only had cash for some jobs did and he is like. We're gonna send me cash birthday card. You want to send me a check from somebody else. So he was doing that. And then Going back to of the bank account. I am way

Is Bitcoin About To Fall?

"So when it comes to bitcoin veil of the well look yesterday. I didn't do much sooner. Bit up to down but at all looking walk it might be a little bit confused now. Don't forget that we've been looking at what i've been looking at It has been. There's four hour consolidations. Because what bitcoin has been doing on the dailies. Just kinda climbing. Whether it does it fossil slow it's been clogging but has gone through periods in the four hour focused on trend and we've got another little starting at the moment whether it will continue up. Just don't know that if we if we consider the move that we had back through twelfth Around that period until about the eighteenth oversaw advise. Then we ran off from what bet. Twelve or eleven. Sorry up to the high was sort of thirteen seven then threat that period we consolidated from you know end of october november all the way through to more or less twenty. It's starting of the full of november. And then we ran up for. Ma was at roughly fourteen thousand to sixteen thousand and then we ground higher again. You know we went from fifteen to eighteen and now it's sort of not consolidation period guy so there is somewhat of a a bit of consistency in the white moving. It's not pulling back. Not pulling really daily will start. Hasn't for a couple of wake so the as we extend ourselves highlight do continue to say that there is a likelihood of probability that we will pull back. It's just what normal markets do in the healthy. It's a natural back and a kind of looking forward to it in a way. Because that's what i tried from your name pullbacks to be able to get me to try so just keeping it on at the moment. Obviously the way we had a very strong run this waking guy up eleven percent of very very big move. We are very extended. Pullback fourteen would be very welcomed and you might think. Jeez that's a big full. Look at the moves that we've had him and we've gone from the cradle. Tried backwards ten five with moved over. Eight thousand sorry. Yeah thousand dollars in the spice of a couple of months. So it's been a doozy of a move. So i just signed time be loaded if we do see a pullback seven thousand nine hundred sixty four dollars brought now point to of on the day yesterday up only point to one

How To Deal With Depression

"Hello, Hi and welcome to another bullet points episode where I posed the question. Feeling. Sad and I don't mean sad as in all you feeling a bit blue I'm talking about sad that seasonal affective disorder. In the throes of seasonal change and given how odd the year has been overall for all of us wherever it is that you're listening to this episode wherever you are in the world I thought it would be worth liking this up because it's just a useful thing to watch out for and perhaps more importantly just check in with yourself to see how you doing and if. You're feeling what I like to call funky right now because a few tweaks could actually help you navigate away from that down blue low feeling. Now, before we go any further, it's obviously very important that I say very clearly that I am not a medical professional and any concerns about your health, your mood, your mental health are best discussed with your doctor GP MD or family physician. and. I'm sure we can relate to feeling different and by different I. Mean we may notice a drop in energy feeling a bit lackluster, less enthusiastic all of those things during the cold months and especially. So when eve morning might start looking at summary and then quickly and you get to mid morning and it's definitely winter CEO kind of in this hopeful period of its today going to be Nice Oh actually, no today is going to be really wet and cold. So during the colder months when the days are shorter and the evenings all longer, it can just be a little bit harder to get motivated to feel. To feel that get up and go that just seems to come naturally in the summer, and if you feel a drastic change in your in your mood, your disposition or enthusiasm in the autumn, then you may very well be suffering from a form of seasonal affective disorder and obviously there will be a spectrum it'll be mild, and then they'll be more severe instances. So in the UK, it's on the website and it just being the National Health Service as the seasonal affective disorder is a type of depression that comes and goes in a seasonal patterns. So it makes sense right? So in the wind down in the summer summer you up. And the varying degrees of that down and that will be unique team. It goes on side is sometimes known as winter depression because the symptoms are more parent and tend to be more severe during the winter. The symptoms often begin in the autumn is the day start to get shorter and they're typically most severe during. December. January and February and that's not only when it's dark but also usually when the temperatures really do drop Now I personally can relate to this and I feel as though. When it comes to winter I, have to really fight the urge to hibernate especially in this this time October. November. December I really have to fight that urge and but then I mean I have this instinct to get on the blankets or stay in bed longer will. It sounds really dove preserved my energy like a hibernating bear I have honestly at times had to catch myself and say you're not a bear. You don't need to preserve unity and you don't need to eat all of that. So just don't do it and every time I get that urge to have a D.. Day. I have to remind myself how great it is to go for a long walk on the Crisp win today or even I mean even this weekend I went up for a really long walk and it was budgeting with rain but I had to test out my new rain jacket. So I made into I, made it into something exciting and I tried on the walk to notice how fresh everything smells like when it rains and you go for a long walk in the woods, it just smells incredible and I have to remind myself at that. There is nothing wrong with the DVD I hasten to add we. All benefit them from them. They can be absolutely wonderful but it's just making sure for me personally and I don't know about you that I'm not having too many in a row. So seasonal affective disorder is brought on because the brain is exposed to less natural light and vitamin D during the autumn and winter, and this intern disrupts our production of Melatonin Serotonin and Melatonin is the sleepy hormone and Serotonin is the mood hormone. So if those two are taking a bit of a battering or if they're affected anyway and they get out of balance, you're definitely going to feel in how you sleep and your mood. And you're suffering with sad. Then you may feel quite extreme changes in moods across the season's usually a in autumn winter that'll be characterized by depression. With periods of not feeling depressed throughout. Spring. Summer. The lack of light and exposure to vitamin D and the shorter days mean that the actually pretty prevalent in the northern hemisphere and the instances tend to increase further north you go which makes sense when you think about it let's daylight the signs look out for are things like hypothermia. So that's that feeling of extreme lethargy sleepiness just that feeling that you just want to. Curl up which sometimes valid because you're busy and you really do need to rest but other times if it if it's tipping over the edge and it's just getting all the time, remember what I said about me wanting to be a bad. The other thing to look out for is the urge to an you are overeating or you're craving carbohydrates about some part of it. Also part of it is a notable lack of motivation and energy. You might be irritable and your mood might be noticeably depressed or down. You might also just not enjoy the things that you normally like. He might be withdrawing socially and he might be struggling to do the things that you normally do or even think clearly,

Boston Mayor: the last 10 days

"Anna during his a very busy time to be the mayor of Boston but he is taking time out for us anyway in our monthly Mondays with Mayor Marty Walsh. So welcoming back to the show Boston Mayor Marty Walsh Hello. Thank you very much great to be with you today. Great to have you, I don't WanNa paint this picture mayor Walsh because I was thinking about your last ten days or so a ballot box set on fire daily state. Corona virus cases about a thousand people in person learning shut down the schools the chair, the Boston School Committee resigns even as they make historic move to suspend the entrance exam, the exam schools state lifts the Eviction Moratorium three major holidays ahead it is a massive task to be the mayor of Boston right now how are you doing? We have little election week from Tuesday. Oh yeah that. It's Boston's a great city and I love being there. Obviously every day there's new challenges that are in front of, US diesel jobs, very extraordinary times that will. It's important for all of us understand that you know we will get to all of these things You know it's complicated. I was saying the other day my chief staff that you know there just doesn't seem to be any reprieve at all You know the other night school committee meeting there was historic vote lots of conversation lots of emotion around in the to end the way it was unfortunate. But but you know hopefully after next Tuesday you know you know corona virus and talk has been country for everyone. So after next Tuesday, we'll see what happens but I'm hoping for a certain outcome and that election I think a lot of people who are listening to this radio show hoping for the same outcome I I'm hoping for and you know in this country a lot of. And and right now we have to get through it and You didn't mention but the racial unrest as well. The stomach racism all of that stuff is front and center, and it's important for us to continue to move forward one of the other to get to this time. So you just talked about the election. Let's stay there for a minute. police have made an arrest in the case of the ballots that were set on fire and dropbox and Copley. Square yesterday are you concerned about more cases every election related violence or tampering or vandalism, and how are you preparing the city for that? But. You know I'm hoping that we don't have you violence at. A lot of it's going to be What happens in the election I think that you know you have one candidate in the president. Has undertone of creating. Okaying violence, it's not going to be tolerated here in the city of Boston on the police department has. Is, an has increased patrols in areas where election ballot boxes are located but also preparing for Election Day to make sure that we have I don't think it's going to happen here border intimidatation I. Don't think we'll sit here in Boston but you never know around the country I. Think you'll see different pieces of. What as far as the ballot box fan I wanNA. Thank the Boston Police Department for this action and our alliance. Partners and members of the community played a role to arrest suspects. In copy? Square. For the ballot box incident this was an isolated incident and so we're going to be making sure that we've asked the district attorney to investigate it to its fullest extent. A number one priority certainly making sure that the integrity of the elections are upheld and I wanNA thank all the partners and I think as we continue to before I do not feel I think that hopefully this is an isolated incident and I think it might be but we are going to continue. We have the boxes monitored under surveillance cameras and we're going to be increasing our security. So people feel free to devote and we want everyone to vote. So you know if you if you haven't early vote out and you want to use these boxes in the primary had a couple of places we have seventeen right now in in the final. So we want you to use box. Want you to make sure that you know you do you early vote. Get get all that if you can because the more people vote now on the less lines will have on election day. We talked a minute ago about some of these challenges with the corona virus. The city now has an average positive test rate above six percent according to the city's latest analysis of neighborhood testing data I wanted to ask you. So we've been hearing public health officials for awhile anticipate some kind of surge in the fall and I wondered are the numbers that we're actually seeing now in line with what you expected for this time of year in whatever modeling or planning might have done or or are these surges the surge bigger than you thought we'd be in right now how are you looking it and thinking about it? I don't think categorizes as a surge yet it's definitely increased We're seeing numbers every every week. Now the new numbers as of today from yesterday, and over the weekend two, hundred and seventy three new cases which a lot probably the highest of seeing one day. Actually might be two days in number by the seeing or in hundred something range of the day. Now, for the last couple of days that's the highest we've seen since around June So certainly you know I probably already is making residents are safe and how big The experts have said that we would see a potentially an uptick in the month of October November and December and they also has mentioned that it isn't coming upon all of us that we could actually keep those numbers down by wearing masks and making sure that we do everything we can social distancing avoiding black gatherings I'm also encouraging people to things tonight today to get tested I think it's really important having accurate number of tests you're in the city of Boston. So we get an accurate account with the number really right now six point two percent. In the second piece is down suggesting the people to get your flu shot. Because as we head into this month of September October November area that you know the people are GonNa, get any the colds flu. It'll be confusing want to try and cut down on learn through visits if at all possible.

"And, you know, sometimes defenders don't like that quarterback running like that, you know? Big. We're chatting with John Zorn. Excuse Fox Sports. I noticed this threw the first couple of weeks of the season. The the offenses air so far ahead of the defense's And it's been moving in that direction for a number of years, but it I think you're going to see a lot of games this year where you're going. Tohave point totals combined point totals north of 65. I think that's going to be the norm, right? The only bad thing for the Bangles people since Dad is probably to the best excesses. FDA of fear in your division. That's true followed the foreign pit and Pittsburgh. You know, I think I'm actually think Pittsburgh Defence is ahead of its offense right now. Ben Fuller gets his legs underneath. You know, 100 stuff like that. It's It's hard, really naming a great defense like Minnesota going too, and we always thought they could play defense. But things look like they forgot how to do it, You know, look at Dallas. They want a game and got shredded. That's right. That's true. So I mean it. It's a weird It's a weird, weird season so far and Hopefully, it'll all even on. I'm hoping that eventually, you know, we see fans. Some of these stadiums in October. November of things go well with virus and everything, but I think we're missing that. I know I'm missing watching games without fans. You know, the pipe in sound is not know for me. I think I think it's I think it's disingenuous and we're going to get fans here. For the next home game of the one against Jacksonville on a couple of weeks. Oh, our next week. Actually, we're going to be able to. I think it's 3000 fans 1500 on each side of Ah 63,000 seat stadium, but You know, the journey of a million miles begins with a first step. So that's the first step, I guess, but so what? Right? Always great catching up with you, my friend. Thank you for your time. We appreciate it. You're welcome again. Any time protecting girl. Sorry, John, protecting burrow. Burrow, tackled for a loss five times in that game last Thursday night against the Brown sack three times in the game against the Chargers sacked three times. One would hope one would hope they've been working on that in the ensuing day since the loss to Cleveland, right who lit up the NFL brought to you by serval residential and commercial service one call It's serval. "Cilantro, love, cilantro. This is the time of the year to grow because it loves it when it's cooler outside you. What do you do with turnips? What? Why do eternity the greens eat the tops off If you let him go until they turned into the turnip, That's great, but used the greens for cooking or in fresh themselves. If they're small of them, Okay, I got because I in my life I don't know that I've ever eaten a turn up and the people that I know that have don't love him. You've gotta have a real page for the turnip Green is out. Try to green sometimes outstanding. His marriage back radishes, French breakfast radish. I never let him get big enough to those mature side because I'll pick him small enough. They're about the size of your little pinky college and all put him in the salad. Foolish and all the police touch absolutely outstanding daggone and guard. Can I do garlic now? Yeah, As a matter of fact, I'm glad you brought that up September in early October. If you want to plant garlic, now's the time to plant that in your garden, And if you're if you're going to go with garlic, and it grows great in Ohio, try to do though the hard next. I think you get better success with a hard next versus the soft next and the thing about hard next next year, they'll put that flower escape up. You're the one who kind of comes up curls around. That's that's a delicacy now when it comes to cooking great flavor. See you clip that off and used that in the end you're cooking but the hard next to probably the better ones to try to grow. But between now and mid October you are in garlic planting season. I love it. Love it. Love it Now you you talked about evergreens. You no need moisture. Year round. If I'm looking at my landscape beds have been kind of holding off. I'm thinking maybe I want to put a tree in. I want to play a couple shrubs, those kinds of things this. This is really good time for that, innit? It's outstanding follows a great time for planting, and I think the biggest reason is that was mentioned earlier. More richer developed in the fall of any other time the rest of the year. So when you plant the fall, you're saving yourself time from that have to do in the spring time. Obviously, they're already there to get the washing come to life in the spring, and they develop more loose, so it's kind of a jump start on that now it's a little dry out there. There's no doubt about it, but you'd be watering anyway. So you know now's a great time. You could really technically plan up through October November, depending on the weather. And in many cases right up until the Christmas season. But let's use September October early November as are planting season and it's a perfect one right now. Yeah, it's it's fun to you kind of do the plant hokey pokey the people that have stuff in containers. I know. I think it was some trying. Remember if it was Saturday Morning, Sunday morning for a Sunday morning Monday morning, but we had just a little light coat of frost went up around the house. Butt out, You know, maybe 50 60 ft from the house. Top of the grass and that kind of stuff, and I mean I went Andrzej was actual frost, even though the air temperature you know the onboard, said 40. So I got to really kind of start paying attention to those container plants because I don't want to get him bit. Yeah, we're saying container. I'm assuming you mean like the house plants and things like that can't take the colder temps. Once you start getting down the 45 degrees or so it's time to start acclimating those to get them ready to go back in the house. Put them into shape for about 10 days or so the days are getting shorter 10 days or so in the shade, spray him a couple times with a second cycle so and of course, always do that last check. Pull him out of the pot. Make sure there's no Hitchhikers. The bottom that pop We found bowls and mice and snakes and all kinds of things in there clean all that stuff out and bring him in. The house will be ready to go. So now is the time to do that. I wouldn't I would not. I mean, I I could get a critter too. But a snake. No, thank you. No, no, no. It happens can imagine bulbs. Good time for Bob's. My wife dug up and separated all the I forgive his daffodils, I think, and she had way more than she thought she was gonna have. So she's been dreaming up places to stick all those but still has a handful or two to go. I'm she's still good to plant those, right. Oh, yeah, Same way we're gonna plant ball drive out through the rest of the year. In fact, playing them in January, February, Really? You want to get him in October November? Get him settled in. And remember that you plant him in the fall because they need the cold weather to set up his blues for next year. So falls the time for planning spring flowering bulbs. So if you want to light up your yard planet now, what are you hearing much about winter in Ohio and you know, we think, and we're going to get a cold snow a year. It's going to be another mile. And have you heard anything at all? You know, the old Farmer's Almanac and the Farmer's Almanac. Conflicting again Once again their predictions they're saying one of saying wet, not so cold. The other one in cold a little bit more wet. So I guess we'll find out when we get there, huh? Which, which is better like for your world. The plant world, the grass world the landscape world which winter is better? I'll take the colder winner and cooler weather and let's just stay cool up until about the first of April, then start to break out for us and then kind of cruise into the springtime. You so you you like a little bit of moisture. I just think you know when.

"Loves garden line. He loves to answer the questions in the background. Uh, remember sitting in with him one time on a zoom call, but I never knew how many people were watching and actually listening, But it was kind of cool yesterday. As I'm doing the talking point, my screen kept popping when people would enter the zoom seminar. The only thing I didn't understand is why someone interred ISMs are 10 minutes left in it. I guess they were not necessarily listening to guard line. All day yesterday, then before we did the seminar, but we're going to do the exact same thing. Timewise today the Montgomery County home, an outdoor living show virtually Today is the last day I will be doing the seminar at 11 o'clock again. Thanks for all of you folks that weighed in on that yesterday. I know we just kept seeing The Ah, I don't know if I'm saying this right because I'm not like zoom savvy like a lot of you guys are out there. But it was kind of cool to see the screen that I'm looking at. As I'm talking all those sewing it so inert stones so entered so until entered, it was it was kind of fun. And then I'd see the name of the person who was going to ask the question, and we're going to do the same thing today, so If you were thinking about asking question yesterday, maybe you didn't get it in in time. That is the day to do it. If you don't get your question in on the radio show today, But if you wanted to do it, zoom Woz will do that. I'll do a little a couple of discussion points again. It'll be a little bit of a repeat, but this is just like me doing a home and garden show back in the old days where we would get down with the radio show from home and garden show live on the site and then It was step over about 30 minutes to an hour later and go do a seminar and people get to talk to you one on one, and you know, you get to see him face to face. I don't get to see everybody face to face on something like this, But at least ah, you guys get to see me doing the zoom seminar from well where my home studio is. In the background. Yes, there is the Texas the Texas anthem Kyle Field picture. It is an old picture that's not like something that came from just Since 9 11 it'sjust American flag on middle of Kyle Field, and you can kind of tell it is Look look at Thea. This before way before they did the restructuring and rebuilding a cow field. You'll see that if you want to the seminar, I gotta actually two questions like why was that picture in the background? So I thought that was kind of fun and interesting. We, uh Will take all your garden line calls today as well as we go through and get ready for the seminar at 11 o'clock. If you're not familiar with what this Montgomery County home in outdoor living show virtually is it's basically you get to go online and go visit. All the vendors get the providers And usually, there's about 100 just little bit short of 100. Local home improvement companies with virtual booths. Man. Most of them have deals going on. All right, so This is free you have to do is go to text Would virtual dotcom get registered? And when you register there, they're going to let you know when the doors were open, virtually so to speak, and I'll let you know when we're getting ready to do our seminars. Well, Text TX would w 00 d. Virtual v I R. T u A L A text would virtual dot com So big it. Signed up for that and look forward to talking to you at the virtual seminar, the home and garden show, you know, and this could be our future for the next don't know where we're September, October November of next 3 to 4 months We may be doing a couple more virtual home and garden show seminars for some of these other that do fall home and garden shows. We'll see how it plays out today, you know, will be a kind of good, telltale sign of how that will be for our future. Hopefully, we'll get back to some normal home and garden shows Come, you know, February March April, May 2021 I can't wait to start doing book signings again and we may do a couple around Christmas, depending on Oh, where things lay with the covert 19. But I'll be ready for when it's Ready for everybody else to participate because I want to get the book and as many people's hands as possible, and that's why we'll probably do a re launch of that book in January of 2021 as well, Uh, couple of things we want to talk about, and I did bring this up during the seminar. Yesterday as well. I wanted to clarify and I'll pride do this a couple of times throughout the day. My schedule works, all right. I have not changed my view on my fertilization schedule, but a lot of people here only it's kind of like they hear bits and pieces. A selective hearing. Here. Only what you want to hear. So they've heard me bring up this Sunday lawn fertilizing company and there. Oh, my gosh. He changed his schedule. My God, She's not recommending this and that anymore. That's not true. This is very specific. And when they asked me to look into this company, I said, Well, I'm not going to change my schedule for you Got no, no, We don't want you to do that, Randy, but we need you to understand. And I did. I got to really understand that there is a need for a like a meal delivery service, but for your lawn So there's a lot of people with very ti tiny little arms now, and there's a lot of people that are going to stay at home. They can't get out. Don't want to get out. Don't want to strap on a mask and go shop for a big bag of fertilizer in the store and then Last but not least about the size of you know, are the fertilization products that we recommend on our normal schedule can cover over 7000 toe upwards of 10,000 square feet. So on the tee, tiny little yards. There's a ton left over. And if you don't have the means to store it properly, it can go bad within a few months. So this really targets the exact amount you're going to need for the amount of square footage that you have. So if you do what I have been recommending go to the website get Sunday dot com If you've got a small yard or if you don't Need to get out of the house. Don't want to get out of the house. But you know the law needs to be fed. You know, it's a meal delivery service for the lawn That's get Sunday dot com. When.

"We've got a lot of questions waiting on. Hold the number 799 11 30. Let's go to Gary in Milwaukee, Gary Good morning. We have Barry on Gary. Okay, Go ahead with October November still be a good time to sell a house here with his virus stuff going on. And why would I be better off wayto spring? Well, I guess what type of property is it that you're looking to sell? Is it a single family? It's a ranch. Okay. Where is your house located? You said in Milwaukee. Well, I mean, obviously, this time of year we do slow down a little bit with fall starting gearing up for winter holidays. Obviously, the school year has started. But this year's been a little bit unusual. Obviously, with the virus and just kind of the state that the world is in, you know it. It might not be a horrible time this year because with the virus we sort of started our busy season a little bit later. Typically, things really speed up in March April, and that's kind of when everything was getting a little crazy around here, and we weren't selling as much as we typically would. So, in my opinion, the busy season is going a little bit later into the year, this time around, But what lies at least if you want a listed in the MLS to see what can I say? Why not get it out there and see the reaction? Sir. If you're flexible, somewhat with timing, it might go really fast might take a little longer, But you know, there's a ton of buyers out there right now, especially a ton of buyers that we're looking this entire summer and may be missed out. Maybe, you know, they wrote multiple offers on properties and because things are so competitive my position Gary would be. You never know what you're going to get in the future right now. Put it out there Right now. It's really a good time to sell a house You're seeing offers what? Peyton's your own home within six hours. Yeah. I mean, I would try toe. I wouldn't wait till you know you said October November. I would try to get it in it sooner rather than later. Winter really starts gearing off when we get closer to the holidays, But, yeah, if you're somewhat flexible with timing, I don't think it's a bad time at all. There's so many buyers out there. Interest rates are low and at least you know, having Agent come out to your house and take a look at it and Kind of, you know, ask their opinion on if it's ready or not, If there are some things that actually that Gary that is free of charge. There's no cost for that visit by they do A C M. A. It's called a comparable market analysis. And I will give up the phone number right now for really find have not done that yet to 6 to 73 to 5800, or if you can remember this, Gary, just go to redefine realty dot com. Get get an agent out there. Get Peyton Get dawn are one of the many definitely come take a look And you know, given idea fits, you know, worth it to get on the market yet this year, it doesn't hurt to try and And like we said, if you don't get your buyer, and you're not in too much of a hurry to sell, you could always take it off in those winter months and then go back on in the spring. Are you making an offer that first day you very well could very well. It's a good question, though. With the timing of the year I get a Gary, but real estate doesn't stop. I mean, it could be your doesn't stop throughout the year. That's that's the good thing. And the other little caveat to is. You know, a lot of people are thinking. Oh, I'm not going to go on the market during that time. Well, if you do well, then you've got your listing out. There were Others don't stand out, like stand out a little bit More example in June. Good stuff, Gary. Thank you. And I wish you the best of luck again. Redefined realty dot com. Check it out. All the agents all their phone numbers all their emails air on that website. Next up is Sherry calling? W I said Good morning, Sherry. Hi. Good morning. How are you doing? Doing fine. How can we help you? Well, this was kind of Ah. Just pass it up in the air and see where it falls. Kind of an idea that I have. I'm new to Wisconsin. I'm living here now. And I have a tiny home in Palm Springs, California, which is a snowbird. Location in the winter months for our people coming down from Canada and Alaska to get out of the cold, cold weather or anywhere to get out of the cold, cold weather, and it was a great idea on all being the foran income for someone. It's you're aware of the new, tiny house crazy around the country, correct. Oh, yeah, not so much in this state, although there's a few things going on. Right now. There's a veteran's park being built with 60 tiny homes in Milwaukee. That's a kind of a cool thing about. Oh, not as much as in California. Don't think, Sheri. So your question is that you're looking for a home in Wisconsin. No, My question is I'm selling my place in Palm Springs. I wanted to know what you thought the best thing to do with the two listed in the paper. I'm like I said, I'm a senior citizen, so I'm not into, unfortunately, a lot of computer stuff, but I'm someone could buy it and put it on on our B and B and in the rented out they rent for almost Believe it or not, 2900 plus for 30 days in the winter months. Okay, so you need to sell the house. Now. Obviously, you guys aren't license in California and that we're only license but in the state of a Scott, let's give advice in general, because Zillow truly there's ways to some people put him on one more thing. One more thing. The property is least through the owner of the land. So you don't know on home and you could put it someplace else. If you wanted to curse. It's all tied down with a porch and everything, but I'm just curious Sherry. How big is the tiny home? It's a little under 500 square feet. I mean, there's definitely like you said vacation rentals. There's a market for that type of buyer. Would you suggest an agent? I would suggest an agent in the area. Maybe do a little research and, you know, find out some of the local brokerage firms in the immediate area and interview a couple agents. You do have to be licensed in California wrecked. Yeah, you guys are licensed in Wisconsin only Correct. We are not licensed in Illinois. In other words, we can't you know, go south of the border or anything like that. We are licensed only in the state of Scott's. Baba has said many times over that. We've been doing this show about 15 years. If you want to try selling your house by yourself, it's called, uh Single again. For sale by owner So he also is visible for sale by owner he says..

"Come October, November December, Right? And all of a sudden. So you someone tracing you saw Mark McGuire in the hotel. Was he talking on the phone to his family? Was he talking to other players? So you thought you saw Mark McGwire saying freaking out, saying, I need to get back home. Yeah, I saw Mark McGwire and all the other players they were trying to. You know, they were just trying to figure out that they weren't catching the point. And they were trying to write. No. They were sending up some sort of transportation again. They couldn't leave. They couldn't leave because all planes were grounded, as you know, for several days, and I would imagine they probably had to take a bus back or something. Right? Correct. Yeah. Wow, that is crazy interpretation with Buster Limo. But isn't that what family's trying to get back to their families, right? Yeah, it was because at that point you didn't know if there was a national terror are like a comprehensive national terroristic threat. Right? And you had no idea. Well, Paris. Thank you for thank you for sharing that story. That's crazy Repairs. That's fascinating. And I do appreciate the phone call. Thank you. 7022575396. We want to hear where you were on 9 11. We're hearing all sorts of these air great phone calls. By the way, I have to say, you know, we have people that were in New York at the time. We just had a caller that was Catching a Brewers game and he was staying at the same hotel as the Cardinals. And he said he saw Mark McGwire freaking out. We have a nurse who just called in who said that she was working at a psych ward. And she wanted to turn the TV off because she didn't think her patients would be able to deal with it. I don't blame her these air. Excellent calls. I really appreciate them 2575396 s. So we have a guy Bob on the line now who was in Vegas at the time. I was not in Vegas yet. But Bob was and he wants to. Ah, talk a little bit about that. Bob. Is that true? Yeah, I've been in Vegas over 30 is I was leaving at that time on valley View Nature Charleston. And it just struck me with an invincible anymore. Scary and also is via station five, which is a Hanson street. It's right near Val. Yeah, Yeah, I know where that is. Yeah, yeah, Every 9 11, they toned the bell. At the same time, maybe was five. In fact, if I'm not if I'm not mistaken, Bob, I think they have a piece of one of the towers there as well. If I'm not mistaken. I've been here. I think they have the bill. Yeah, yeah. Something along those lines? Yeah, I only down there 24 7 to look at the bill. Right? Right. Hey, Bob, since you live in Vegas at that time Remember the story, Bob, if I'm not mistaken that Mohammed Atta and a few of those other bastard terrorist they actually spent some time in Las Vegas is a There were some of the level casinos, not the big man say, stated a very crappy motel nearthe stratosphere. I know exactly where they were staying. So the mystery Bob and you could tell me if you recall this the mystery that I understand it is they rented a car and during the investigation there was like 160 miles on that car, and nobody knows Where they went when they were here. Where do you think they went? I don't know, but they also used they went into like when you go into computer. We're now or to you Pay by the minute, Right? Right. They did that. They did that mailbox or one of these places. We know they went to a strip club two that we know for sure yet. They did. Yeah, well, Bob, Bob, I appreciate you calling us and glad you're saying get a chance Street. Yes, sir. Valley View on Charles. You could view it seven days a week. It's visible. Cool. Cool. I appreciate you sharing that with us. Bob and I recommend all of our listeners. Go do that and pay their respects to five calls about. I bet that they took a trip to Peru ump in that car, but I have no idea that's still up in the air, but I'm glad they're dead. If anything is good that they're dead, let's go to a very thankful that as well, Let's go to a Richard Richard is next on the Vegas take my understanding is he was in Canada. Or flights were routed at the time. Is that correct? Richard? That is correct. And we were. We were so scared because all the planes kept circling around their landing so many planes at once, and we didn't know if there is any more terrorists, so they evacuated all the buildings in downtown Calgary. And everyone was just panic because all these planes are like stacked on top of each other with runways. Wow. But nobody knew who was on those planes. And so you're in the airport, right? As the planes were hitting the towers, or were you in a plane in town? I was evacuated. Okay. Story building wow! Covered in oil and gas town. Right? Right. So we didn't know they were. You know, we didn't know what was happening. So you were at an airport the hours after No, no, no. No after, But we saw it on the local news. It's sure sure. Okay. Raines Stack down the runway. Gotcha. So you saw so you saw that? Did you see the runway when like there were? How far were you from the airport when all this stuff was going on about four miles. Oh, my God. I can't even imagine. Can you imagine Richard? What It was like if you were in the air, and I know that, you know, social media isn't wasn't anything going on back then, is theirs now, However, there were cellphones on there, and people were able to use phones and stuff. Can you imagine Richard? What you are what you would have been going through if while you were in the air, you knew that there was a terrorist attack going on with planes being used because my understanding Is they knew what was going on in Pennsylvania. With that plane that went down. People knew the pilot's new people on the Plains knew what was going on. I would be freaking out. It was just the whole city was in lock down and everyone just crammed in the local bars and pubs and watch TV is like it was dead. Silent. No one was talking. You know the good people in Canada. I have to say you stood by us your country. You stood by us in this country and by the way many other countries as well. Ah, you know, and I think that's a credit to two For the most part when horrible things happen. Usually you see the good in people. And you guys in Canada were so supportive of what we were doing here, and I think we need to remember that. And and most people around the world where the same Yes, we did see people dancing in Afghanistan and Iraq And those bastards that we're doing that. Yeah, not in Canada. You guys have always been with us and had our back and we appreciate people like you, Richard. And thank you for sharing your story. Thank you so much. Thank you. You tell me to 7022575396 your story. What do you remember about 9 11? There's a guy that was in Canada that's recalling the plane's being routed and all that other stuff..

"Could move trees in October November, but Ah, shrubbery do not want to move in October November. Frankly, if I need new shrubbery somewhere else, this is the time of year to buy the new shrubbery and go ahead and transplant it in your new area. There's a lot of garden centers that have things on sale. They may not be perfect specimens, but their root systems air healthy. You get those in the ground and take care of them for the next couple of months and getting new transplants, and it's so much smarter than moving shrubbery. I just got stuff that I put in, and I didn't realize how big it was going to get in one area or there's more sun than I thought. And so because it's a fake, you know, it started about a year and a half ago in so I put stuff in. That probably shouldn't have been in that spot. So I thought I'm not trying to be flippant. With this response to people it is still way Mohr cost effective in the long run. To buy plants on sale right now and get those in the area that you want. Now that you've learned a lesson or two about the growth pattern, because any shrubbery small shrub that's ripped out right now. There's a percentage chance you're gonna kill it. Even if you do prep the soil correctly because you're ripping out a lot of roots on shrubbery vs Separating bulbs and annuals and prions. Thatcher. Okay, all gardens. Success starts with the soil here. Building beds. If you build it, they will come 713 to 1 to Katri. Chester. Hang tight. You're going to have next, Mike, you'll be right behind Hester 713..

Unemployment rate falls below 10% for first time since March

"Continues its slow crawl back, the Labor Department says. For the month of August, the employment rate fell to 8.4% from 10.2% and employers added 1.4 million jobs last month. Let's break it down and go deeper on this report. Joining us live now CBS news business analyst Dill Schlessinger. Jill it It sounds like good news. The market's, though, are skidding taken a dive here. Can you put this into some context for us? Let's not talk about the markets. Who knows why. Day to day things were moving around, But I think that the employment report was pretty much on target. The consensus estimate was for 1.4 million total jobs, although We have to just sort of put an asterisk here. 238,000 temporary census workers were hired. So you kind of have to back that out. Even with the monthly gains over the last four months, we still have 11.5 million fewer jobs that we had at the beginning of this pandemic, So it's still a pretty deep hole. I would say that we've filled up a bunch of it, but There's a ways to go and the unemployment rate improving. It improved. Not just that headline number, but you know, we look at the broader rate, the one that includes those part timers who wanted to have full time work, and that's down from over 20%. Now it's at 14% 14.2. Look these air still huge numbers but really vastly improved from where we were at the end of March beginning of April. So you know you talk about the number of jobs that were added last month. Is that number actually more or less than were added in the month before in July, because it sort of gives us the trajectory When we look at it for months, weren't you're speaking my language lady and we used to say this on the trading floor. The trend is your friend and what the trend is showing us Is that job? Additions are tapering off some and I think that that's sort of the concern, especially as we come into the next couple of months, because obviously we've seen some hiring occur in travel and hospitality. Summer months warmer months where people conserve meals in restaurants outside what happens in October, November, December that is unknown. And I think that the big gains that we saw, you know early in this process. They are slowing down some and that is of a concern, because clearly what the really concern is that individuals could be may be facing a second, lay off or furlough at a time where there's not a lot of support from the federal government member. We're waiting on Congress to come through with Yet another stimulus plan. Nothing so far.

NVIDIA's Shield TV gets a huge update five years after launch

"As everyone knows here, we are an android news covering the latest and greatest android and everyone knows that I'm a big fan of the Nvidia Shield and the other day we were watching TV Anna turned on my Nvidia Shield and said and update is ready to install a two am and I said Ooh install now and then we had to wait ten minutes before we could watch. TV. So Jason, it even happens when you're watching TV but. Invidia Shield got an update. In fact, it's the twenty fifth software update over five years for envision she'll. Video she'll TV first launched may twenty fifteen, which is crazy that has been around for five years But so this twenty-fifth author update is a reason to celebrate because it includes some very features upgraded four K. upscaling system. The now works with three hundred and sixty P and fourteen forty. P in addition to the previously supported seven twenty P and ten eighty p. I like the support for three sixty P because I'm too. Yeah. Let's let's go down. Let's go down sizes. The PRO model supports upscaling for sixty frames per second content, which is great for sports if you're a sports enthusiast. And major update to the remote control interface. The customer button can now be programmed for double and long press actions so Much like the way you interact with the android with with double taps long presses, you can use the remote to specific area and hold the button to get a different set of actions based on the long press and you could actually. Program those to do whatever you might want them to do, which is great. And it had a few other updates for home theater applications. You know it it it. Support for HBO Max and a lot of their partners and things like that. But Hey, five years on product life cycle invidia still sending out updates. It's a gem in the video hardware offering. It's completely may you know it's complete change our home theater experience now, there's a remote control that's easy to use. My wife uses it the put shows on for the kids I love the Nvidia Shield I love they keep updating and so It's great. She'll TV go get it. They are not as Bouncer I, just like the product. So it's the I. Think I think again, we've mentioned it on episodes past this device was the family of devices would end up in our android hall of fame. If ever, we were to make that a real thing other than words that we say every once in a while on the show who knows maybe we'll actually create something like like an experience that you can actually go to and walk through and like Oh remember that. Yeah that's great. anyways. That's that's like a few years down the road and we all know why I think that anytime I see the she'll TV has another update like I. Find Myself inclined to add it into the rundown not necessarily because of the features because the features are great in and of themselves but just because I want. I'm sure you guys would agree I want to encourage anyone that's still supporting their hardware hardware five years later to keep doing it so I feel like if we keep like. Making a big deal of it. When they do it, then donald encourage them to do more, and then maybe that ends up being example for other hardware manufacturers to kind of do the same kind of like how far can you go? Where do we think? In is going to stop with this like what? What is the we're not gonna do that anymore update. Do you think we're nearing that or are they just going to keep going? Why would they? Why would they stop though people? If they just released the the released new upgraded updated hardware that's I got the Invidia Shield TV pro little set top box, one those came out earlier. This year right it wasn't last year this year I time it might have been late last year. I forget late last late last year it was like October November. So they just came out with new hardware people are still buying the product is going for five years android in Android TV keeps developing and and clearly some sort of priority for Google. So why stop updating the invidia might be one of the best examples of how to support your hardware. Yeah I really agree with you on that run one of the best examples of how to support your hardware it. This is akin to I WANNA say Apple Support of older iphones. Like because this is unprecedented in our android worlds and just lately we were like Yay Samsung is committed to three years for phones. But like look at Nvidia, they just keep pumping it out and you know I think it's because they realized. It was a cult favourite there. One of those really good. Manufacturers when those companies such a cachet in the gaming world that I think when they see that they have kind of. Fans, service one of their devices that they're going to support it because. You want fans fan sell things. In I'm. Jealous I'm jealous. I'm still here with my box. Okay. No shape jammie but is still working. You're having problems with them. Aren't you? We don't sit in that room anymore because there's white couches and I have a newborn baby. So I but I'll tell you every time we turn on that set top box. Like fifteen minutes twenty minutes of updates before we can watch anything. So we have to plan it can't. It's Power it up before you power. Sure that get those things out of the way. So it's there and working. That's no good The Shield definitely handles that differently, some folks in the chat are pointing out, and this is true that a lot of the updates in this new software update don't necessarily apply to the older version like the the upscaling I think is more isolated to the newer models, but there are some features and I think the point is that there they haven't forgotten it entirely right? Like there is a feature that's included here that says the older models. Now have an option to always match the frame rate of content in that's being displayed in a home theater setup. You know it's I'm sure that's a feature that certain people would might be really wanted to see but at least it shows that they're they're paying attention to it still and that they're supporting it. To some capacity and I I also wonder if their security updates are kind of included in here, I didn't necessarily see them call it out in there but I would like to think that if they're doing these software updates, they're also kind of paying attention to and platform security updates to keep it secure, and if that's the case, then that's that's great as well because that is applying to the older hardware no matter what they're paying attention and that's more than a lot of manufacturers are.

Dr. Andrew Weil - Spontaneous Happiness

"Doctor Wyle. Welcome back to the show. Thanks good to be here again while we got a lot to get into really enjoyed our first conversation and we got into a lot of different stuff and I wanNA take time and get into some new subjects get a bit deeper into some of the stuff we covered last time but you're such a wealth of knowledge and have so many different areas of expertise would I decided to do was pick one of your many books which I pick spontaneous happiness and Kinda use that as an underlying. Theme for our chat today. Okay. So a lot we can get into within that. But first of all, let's talk about your post you put up on instagram yesterday you you shared a short video of yourself eating the prince, which is a mushroom I hadn't heard of this one before. So tell me about in how long have you been consuming it well, it's one of my favorite mushrooms. It's not a common one I found that various parts of the country the property where I live at the moment in British Columbia they come up. At this time of year and sometimes in the fall, it's a big. Very Meaty, beautiful mushroom us, fairly easy to identify. It's related to the button mushroom. That's in that same family. It has a very strong fragrance of almond extract that persists when you cook the mushroom. So it's just delightful and I was so happy to find these and they tend to get attacked by insect larvae very early on. So it's hard to find a specimens that are intact and the ones that I found your so far have been completely pristine. So sliced them up, sauteed them in olive oil little salt and pepper, and they're great knifes some more coming up that I'm going to. Pick today Nice. So you're foraging those rate on your property. Yeah. Yeah. Just a few steps away from my house. Very cool. Any other mushrooms or any other forging going on this time? Of Year the Mane Mushroom time here is the fall of particularly october-november. This been an unusual season here with a lot of a lot of rain cooler temperatures. So we also had Shanta rails fruiting, which normally don't do that at this time of year. So I had a meal of those as well. Nice, and with the whole pandemic going on I know normally spend the summers see where you're at now and the. Winters down in Tucson was a hard for you to get up north in get to your your summer home while fortunately I married a Canadian last year. So I was able to get in as an immediate family member. The border is still closed. Congrats I didn't know you'd gotten married congrats to that. Yes. Thanks. So what about the gardens? How're the gardens doing? They're fantastic it's unusual weather. There is a very hot early spring here, and then it's been cool and rainy but things are doing really well I've been harvesting lot of lettuce herbs potatoes tomatoes aren't right yet corn is tasked. Laying beginning years I have a lot of bees I get a great deal of my food from the garden. Let's talk about besides the food and this ties into the whole topic a happiness that we're going to really dig into talk about on a mental and spiritual level. What do you get from being in the garden while first of all to connection with nature and when I was looking into the reasons for the epidemic of depression that we have in North America, you know one of the factors in Addis disconnection from nature I mean there are many other factors, but that's certainly one of them. Even been described as nature deficit disorder I. Think any way you can connect with nature spending time outdoors. If you're stuck indoors even being around houseplants or companion animals is helpful but I, think that's something we really need for mental emotional and spiritual well-being right and talk about how you go about incorporating houseplants in tier environment in the home and specifically what that does. and My home in Tucson, my home is really filled with house plants here in BC. Since I'm not here, all year, I don't have plans inside but I have a you know an incredible landscape and forest here and and Garden Bing around plants makes me happy and I'm very tuned into their well being you know people talk about having green thumbs or Brown thumbs I think it's mostly a matter of paying attention that if you pay attention plants, let you know what they need or what they're not getting. Have you always been a green thumb or something that took you a lot of years to get to. Now it's from early childhood and something I got from my mother that she got from her mother even though I grew up in a row. House in Philadelphia had very little land around it my mother and I would garden we plant sayings and Plant Bulbs and that really awakened my interest in the plant world, and ultimately that led me to be to study botany as an undergraduate.

Trump allows some unemployment pay, defers payroll tax

"Payroll tax cuts because they're they're coming. Starting September 1st, we're gonna have payroll tax cuts. September, October, November December. From executive order Technically Executive memorandum from the president. In addition to student loans being continued to be deferred eviction memory, our moratorium extended And then the extra $400 per week of unemployment benefits again. Executive order from President Trump Now how did the payroll tax Cuts work. Granted, you've gotta be working to get a payroll tax cuts, so this does not help the unemployed, But it's going to put more money into people's pockets and you do some math here so first off a couple thoughts. This is brand new, so people are trying to still try to figure it out. But from what we understand this is about what this thing is gonna look like September 1st until the end of the year. If you're making less for $4000 or less. In any two week period. That's of any bi weekly period. So it's equivalent of this of this impacts anybody that's making about two grand a week or $140,000 per year or less. Or less. And it seems as though this is going to be determined by your bi weekly pay period. You would be in this group that's going to get a payroll tax cut. Remember the payroll tax cut his FICA and Medicare. You put them both. Together. It's 7.65% so let's do some math. Here again. If you're in this camp, $104,000 or a year or less. Or $4000 or less in a bi weekly pay period, which sounds like the more important calculation here. It's not your annual number, but it sounds like it's a pay period numbers how they're gonna look at this. If you're gonna take 7.5% off of that, which is the employee portion of this That's about 306 bucks a box for every two weeks ago at the Max. So if you're making right at the 4000 levels, said Boyd, 65% is $306 for a two week period and then times to turn up months. I look at this monthly It's about 612 bucks a month. That's really money. Of 600 bucks a month for the next four months. September, October, November, December. That's about $2500 a year. Money that's just directly in your pocket that you wouldn't otherwise have. You're collecting Mohr out of your paycheck, because less is going Teo and medical lessons going federal government

"How's it going? I just got haircut. Go on I. got my my quarantine haircut. Okay Okay Everything. Tell me tell me how this happened. I mean the way it happened was that I wanted a haircut and I got one. but long johns are close right now. Closeness how you did this? Yes I. Okay. So I have not had a haircut since I think September. Mahathir's gotten very long. Which is fine and has been fine. But you know my children's hair is kind of a little. Length and also just it needed some help and I was really ready for a haircut and my beloved hairstylist Chai. is seeing clients outside mast. We should say that only indoor beauty salons closed, but you can give haircuts outside, but a lot of most salons are not set up to do that. Yes. There is a barber shop near me. That just has a barber chair outside and a barber giving haircuts radio on the sidewalk which. I find kind of delightful but this was you know I I have a relationship with my stylist we like. She knew. Are. Quarantine boundaries and we talked you know she was clear about. How she handles things and she's very meticulous and her cleaning in space giving and her mask wearing and my kids and I all wore masks and we didn't touch except for her hands on our hair. and. I feel really I feel like it was a decision. That's great. Now, you who've been talking briefly. You had been you've been contemplating perhaps going short. Yeah I'm still long I went long. I I approve I really like your long hair. You're the first person I think to compliment my long hair and it made me feel good about my like I hadn't even really realized it had gotten long and one day you were like Oh your hair and I'm I'm just Kinda you know I have not had very long hair. In about twenty years and I should say like when I was in college and high school I had like you know hair past my boobs. I. Had a girl on fish tour in nineteen ninety-seven hair. And? It's Kinda getting back there and I it's very hot. Having Long. It's very hot. Yes. How it looks I really like it and so I'm I feel like this is a fun time to just explore new hairstyle and you know my plan is just grow and grow, and whenever I cut it I would like to donate it if I can so. I don't know I have long hair now dory that. So I am I'm into this for you. Well. Thank you Yeah I was really I was. It felt really nice and like I have one of my kids like they have very thick thick hair error that is really bothering them right now and so it really. Comes to have it. Handled by a professional so I felt like it was a good. I. Don't know it was definitely an and thing we. We all really wanted to do so I'm. Glad to have done it. To go vacuum up a lot of hair out on our patio. What's happening over here fresh hair. Fresh hair that's exciting. I. Haven't cut my hair since. November. October November, are you contemplating outdoor trend? Or is that just not a our agenda just not on my agenda right now I am not confident that the that the person who cuts my hair. Is maintaining social distancing and I don't think I would feel comfortable having them. Cut My hair right now. And my hair is long like I. Think if if my hair was short as it has been for a lot of time in the in recent memory that I would feel if I still had bangs I would feel like Oh. Gosh I really go haircut. But now here's sort of like long and straight and it's like All right. Yeah. So I haven't. I haven't like sought out a haircut. Nor if I sought out hair color. Just kind of like. All right this this this is it. I mean grant. It is what it is. I. I feel I feel completely just like neutral about it. You know what? I mean Do I mean. Also like it is it is For. Many of us, it's not necessary so like you're good row. Okay. But you know what? I don't feel neutral about what? My eyebrows, oh fascinating. Your I feel like. Rouser like out of control. Okay. This fascinating. Well, we're growing them out for awhile. Yes. Yes. I have been growing out for like two years but as part of that growing out, still I was still getting them shaped every few months. And I'm now so nervous about. Maintaining them myself because I feel like in the past I've really overpe plucked. That I'm I'm scared to touch them myself. And now, I just feel like they look like. Two

"Six till October November. I mean, look at last September and October. And Ah, Manny knows two months of no rain virtually and still in the nineties in October, Think as tough man last September and October of Bertel, you can never tell Lee. It's always a big mix bag in Alabama. All curious were about up for the next right. We do need to mention the garden centers open 8 to 5. You'll come see us. We're 18 55 Carson Road Peace, Kate. When you pull up, you'll see all the garden greenhouses. And all of you know, all the plants and all that stuff. We're here Monday through Friday. Five. You'll come see us. It's 854 4005 if you want to call in and set up an appointment for Landscaping or long hair or irrigation. If you won't not lying if you want a patio or a tiny wall built, uh forced mulching is a big thing right now. Obviously, irrigation is a big thing, because this time of year it You know, we've had some pretty good rain over the last few weeks. But, man, if it turns off hot and dry like it did the first of this past week, then we literally I mean, Four days. You won't even know you get all that. Yeah, man. It's crazy. How? How fast things will dry out. It will like you say, Chris Keith, you know we go three weeks of getting a really good rainfall. And it stops raining on Monday and by the end of the week, you know about it By the Friday you'll start to see yours with hot spots poppin up and yours getting drowned. Then you go into the second week in the rain. In the New York really start looking bad, and it just gets worse from there. So it's only a matter, Tom before you know, we're really all of us are going to have start dragging hoses and turning the sprinkler system on pretty regularly and if you don't have an irrigation system Installation of one. That's something that we can handle irrigation repairs. If you're gonna lace on, I don't care whether we like it or whether you like it just makes sense to put irrigation system in I was a gentleman's house up the road and Morris that really, really super hot day and he just lied about 8000 square feet of solid. He's like, probably should've put an irrigation system on but I decided not to because I could drag hose around and get it. I'm like, yes. Go only last so long before that gets whole foot is like painting, But I don't care. I don't care how How diligent your and how retired your 8000 square feet dragging hose Randall any anything cool. Now, and I mean, just a little oscillating Spring Creek that Ah Areas. Idea. Just Brady Yard the other day, Kris for Bill Woods. I don't know if we treat his yard or not. You asked me about the name is not familiar. Treat two or three in a row out there pretty close to him. I'm pretty sure And he's got a backyard up there in that is ah. Too shady for Bermuda, and he's got some drainage issues, too. His.

College football in the spring? It's yet another idea being floated

"So we don't know about the future college football this season obviously there's a lot of reports floating around to maybe games played in front of no fans Notre Dame's athletic director said he's not interested in playing games a frontal fans Mike Gundy wants games played right away yeah and Kerr Kerr free was kind of the dooms dayers suggesting that there was not gonna be college football played all this year well there is a new suggestion or theory that perhaps college football could be moved to the spring semester that kind of like spring sports you could have college football's start after the Superbowl February March April being your three months of the year you would play college football instead of September October November now I think we're a ways off from this being a reality but it's a contingency plan because you kind of have to fit in your sporting season two the semesters because you have student athletes there so morass I gotta say yeah we we've been frothing at the mouth for spring football and we've seen the XFL failing the alliance fail but wanted to wouldn't fail is spring college football and it would be hard to sit through the entire fall without it right by if we had college football on a platform to itself what you do is you're talking football from real games from the start of September through may the you would have a real football games significant important football games September October November December January and then roll into college football February March April may be into may you would be beside yourself and dare I say it on national championship game played on the weekend instead of a Monday because they don't have to worry about the NFL playoffs as well as a pay off at the end instead of playing the game until one AM on a Monday night how great would that be it be great I've always said this I I think the college football is obviously a monster but that the one thing that could make college football even a little bit better is if it moved away from the NFL schedule because then I would treat college football like the NFL in all the markets in major cities that have NFL teams and look it would take away the crisp traditional fall air and you know going back to school and all that stuff if you would turn

"But it is going to make for October November and then I say December to be that much better all Billy we gone now that we got this beautiful beautiful beautiful thing that's the power radio I guess you could say being set up from home we welcome a guy who knows a thing or two about call in and see double a tournament game hopefully he'll be calling NFL games before you know it we welcome an injured cat on over at CBS sports and you without her brother how are you J. always a pleasure talking to you my friend how are you Hey don't hang in here I mean I'm probably knowing all my neighbors in Brooklyn is on doing shows six days a week so if you're walking around in the neighborhood you know my apologies if you hearing my loud and beautiful voice but you know your god it's usually very very busy this time of the year so I guess my first one is how has life been locked down in quarantine been treating well completely different than anything we've ever experienced that means you said you're doing shows in your house and your vents you just talk about the NCAA tournament in the masters two events that I've been fortunate enough to work every year with CBS and we here we are at home I mean my wife is a news reporter at channel two in New York so she's been busy and I haven't taken down the old school duties with our five year old son CJ so it's been great to be with the family but obviously is is so different than anything we've ever experienced in priority number one health and safety and that's what we gotta keep focusing on but there's no doubt it's very sad to miss the events you just mentioned and who knows when we'll we'll get back at it and you must have a while for you you're doing that thrilling game the final weekend of the regular season you do in the mountain west tournament what Utah state winning and you're thinking it's the appetizer right you're saying while this is only the beginning of the crazy calls in the crazy finishes that I'm gonna seen doing tournament games over the next few weeks and if I told you on that given day Andrew that it would be the last you know warming game the last game of significance you would do there's no way in the world you would believe me correct no it was crazy and that is barely a month ago and now the world has changed since then but when I called that game and you mentioned it was a great game at Utah state pulling it out in the mountain west title game took off my headset and I thought okay you know in a week I'll be right back at it will be get ready for the NCAA tournament that was never in a million years that I thought well maybe if this virus got bad who knows what happened yep and that did not enter my mind on March seventh here we are on April eleventh and the world has changed so the main thing out quickly everything happened well obviously we're doing the right thing gotta be staying home and staying safe but it's just crazy how quickly everything turned okay and you now that we're like this the style to mode and I feel like I'm watching all games like crazy we'll get to the event you were part of with Syracuse that I watch for like two or three minutes in between commercials because you know I needed to feel that dystology of two thousand and three in Syracuse won a national championship you called a lot of great games over the years I don't know if you've ever been asked this question and maybe it's impossible for you to pick one but is there one game that maybe stands out above the rest you wanna Mike you call in the game that you think of maybe in many ways is like the highlight of your career that's a great question and with C. B. S. as you mentioned before I even joined we have so many great events from the NFL the March madness that the masters for golf that I'm involved in now but it but when I look back on it to me it's the two thousand fifteen NCAA tournament when Georges St and Ron hunter who's coaching with a gimpy leg saw his son R. J. hunter hit that game winning three against Baylor and Ron hunter the coach fell off his stool had his son hit the game winning shot I mean the drama that unfolded in the upset of the NCAA tournament they were a fourteen seed that beat Baylor huge upset in Jacksonville I look back on that call in that moment the NCAA tournament and thank you Sir all run under the here the now the coach at U. lane I did one of his games and every time I see him I just light up because that was a really special moment for me and obviously more important for them we got into cattle on CBS sports usually a very busy time of year for him but obviously live in a much different world Andrew it is weird that I'm sitting here watching like old school masters replays and listen for me I didn't live through eighty six with Nicholas so I know that's going to stand out for a lot of people is the most memorable masters then you have tiger whether it was a last year or as tiger's first masters coming on the scene and dominating the way he did but maybe it's because I'm a lefty and on the hackers so I wish I could hit the ball and hit the soda shots that Phil can pull off on a weekly daily basis when he's feeling it but that two thousand four tournament and he gymnasts are going through it earlier in the day on TV that for me will always stand out him hitting that point winning his first major so you put around the tournament you've been a part of the tournament is there one particular master's nephew stands out above the rest well first of all you nailed it today non medical setting dance they were great on CBS on tomorrow Jim Danson doctor what you're gonna do of a similar thing reliving last year's masters which I think is gonna be awesome as well Kim was telling us someone of our conference calls recently that new tiger and Phil will both fantastic and then we saw with bill brought to the table today and I expect more of the same the tiger tomorrow you know I've been called up put into this week JJ I watch you know that the eighty six masters reply watching all the highlights it's so bittersweet the C. Augusta national in all its glory and could not be there but you do get a chance to relive the moments and no Nicolas eighty six was really just a phenomenal drama that we saw earlier this week but you know last year I don't know if I've ever experienced anything like being there and calling it would target one I was calling in on direct TV of course your nasco are on CBS but but the but the that was just so surreal every member because Manson Faldo laid out and didn't say a word when when tiger one on eighteen and I did the same thing on the direct TV channel but it was more because I was speechless I've never I've never really watched a sporting event and then and then speechless before and and that was the case when tiger came off the eighteenth green and his kids were there and thinking about this first one when he hugged his dad and I was talking to someone I mean look at night I'm not taking anything away from the Nicolas thing no I love the bubble Watson playoffs out there compared to the other ones we talk about that that was a really neat scene with a shot on the second playoff hole but but tiger last year it's going to be really hard for me to see some of that in any sport top that last year at Augusta engine is it crazy to you watch the eighty six master's tournament and you watch like last year's tournament these guys look like completely different prototypes is an athlete I mean I know you can do this in all the sports an old baseball game or basketball game but I mean you see somebody's does dolphin in eighty six and I don't take anything away from them but you know they will cut me you know coming guys you know guys you see on the street now I see all these golfers I mean do they jacked I mean you see Dustin Johnson you see Justin Thomas Tiger Woods you name it it just kind of goes to show you the evolution of the athlete from eighty six to where we are like twenty nineteen twenty twenty it's crazy said totally different game in fitness and being physically fit it becomes such a big part of it but what I really like about it because if you look at the champions you have to go back a little bit a little ways to but there's so many different guys that can win at Augusta mean Jack Johnson in oh seven the thought of being a you know strong muscular guy and he made his way around the course and one in Milano Carrera the ease you don't think of him as the guy that lives in the gym but at the same time he's able to win so that's what I love about a gust I feel like the course is always the champion but who's going to you know go along for the ride and yes other tournaments you are going to need distance more than anything but a Gus that to me it's about experience it's about knowing the greens and knowing where to miss that's incredibly important and that's why you get a variety of guys that can win on that course okay and you I got to ask you about this because this I'm doing a show in between commercials I got the CBS sports network on I'm re living at two thousand three championship and your report of these unbelievable live stream mellows down McNamara is there J. Hines down what buddy Adam Schein is there your involved how cool is that scene with the a lead logs the Syracuse elite just shooting you know what breaking down maybe the greatest moment in Syracuse is program history first of all I'm not on Facebook okay so I may I'm late to the game on that I guess but this whole thing going on as you described in they're bringing back guys you watch on CBS sports network the Syracuse can't this final and I can't watch it because I I don't have Facebook so I is I'm staring at a screen blank screen watching the game and all of a sudden that park who's the radio voice to Syracuse and put this whole thing together brings me on the the zoom okay the first I'd seen it the amount of ominous square engine bay I've is above being camelid cities below me on my zoom street and this is what I did no idea Carmelo is on I do that day I was going to be a part of it but I didn't know he was gonna be on right then so I joined his Megyn bands that it you're welcome and I always I was blank I'm like what am I doing on this thing we've got Gerry McNamara got Mike Hopkins they are governmental meet Adam Schein shouldn't be on this thing but it was fun it was an honor and as you said at the Syracuse a llama a very proud moment it was so cool to relive that game and watch it again you forget so many little moments and you know look we all want live sports back world do you know we're all waiting for that day when we have to put these old classic games that serve the purpose and I've had some fun especially with that one at eight zero quick before we get out here I'm all fired up dress less than two weeks away my team got three first round picks it's to our boss I don't think they can borrow I want no part of Justin Herbert so when it's all said and done and my celebrating the quarterback I want where my team's uniform in two weeks but I pick it up and make a lot of sense for two we noted that there I. on him for a while and by the way you got an incredible loss season your team I mean I would love some of these moves they've made the bringing guys in.

"December we averaged eight point two we had just in October November November month where we average one point eight inches now I mean more coming in what shall fall that woody qual what we usually get in the whole month of December I mean these are just a really interesting meter logically exciting the test that's what I think of what I think it is just as exciting all the excitement of being called myself acting broken and all these other things I'm so happy about that but I'm not happy about it because there's so many people that have to work outside and quite frankly you know usually weather service departments around the country and here in Illinois in Indiana they do what's called a winter weather preparedness week this week is winter weather preparedness week in Indiana we needed to be prepared like a month ago right because the is going on and that's how unusual that says that I think that's why I brought up the whole point about it make sure you too detached your garden hose from outside your house because that's that's something you know people don't think about going to thanksgiving around here right as you think you might be be outside you want to clean up as a lease or whatever the deal is is good thinking well you know we have these prolonged or really deep cold snaps that are going to create that kind of a problem but yet we did have it and think about it until I get my little push notification today and when I mentioned it to some like it like when I have to work this morning and over at the other place and I mentioned that the only god forgives you that too right and it's like everybody's forgetting to do it so I'm I'm you know I'm done doing a public service all right so Ben is it has freed me now from you can tell us where the big road trip yes so it's only me and Ben Bradlee enjoy down and as for party and a fourth party who shall at the moment remain nameless I think he's he's he's like I don't know what the hell he's worried about thank you Mr gate yeah yes because at the end and and you know what he's doing with a I think you call himself that we are going to the Notre Dame maybe get so I don't know why there was such a big secret I was afraid to maybe the name I know we were in there that was going to be an air strike I don't know it was whatever it is but that's lives over doing Saturday you can leave your leave Friday or Saturday Night Live involves is our name is that spending the night you make in the weekend out of it now Saturday our return is questioned I well I can imagine but we we got we got a designated driver we got a separate vehicle is going to take us down there so that there is a little you know anything else happens takes over there I guess because nobody was really down it's over its lateral to over there yeah it's over but you know again I am just yeah just going yeah is getting a lot of lake effect snow over there today yeah now I guess is my question just quickly tell me what the weather's going to be like down there and it really be helpful I it's going to be colder it's good because there's a ton of snow right because I don't think you're gonna have to melt that we're gonna get most likely will not and they have been dealing they've been under which a storm warnings they were earlier today they expired by now but that lake effect snow was continuing to fall there I'm not sure the exact amount but yeah it's definitely going to be colder there and I don't see much in the way of nothing have a good time well do different road trip in that one we will will require a plane hi honey bees yes some place warm was a bit Saturday what windows are warm up happened when we start to feel a little warmer than we feel no here's the thing over the weekend by Sunday and Monday were looking hype around forty I mean that sounds like but it's still below average the trend does show that probably by late next week we should get temperatures back up to average which by that time will be in the upper forty good stabbing and yeah I'm just they are just editorializing yes No and then beyond that he may be the return of a little more back going where we get below average temperatures buckling right here this is the this is just it's just it's so disappointing to me because I look at this I think it's good for all of us right this for it we're looking at six months of not going to be nice I was Hopin I we are all hoping for a you know a little bit of the the little warm up good because we had it last year I just and then just not feeling it right now and I'm colder ready and my toes are cold and there's water everywhere and it's been it's damn it then there's there's green greasy grimy snow double ran all over the streets of downtown Chicago and I just don't like a Tracy brother now listen to me you can see Tracy Beller on the ABC seven news starting at like one thirty in the morning or whatever the hell time together he's going to bed right now thank when my alarm goes thank you for staying awake to talk to us I appreciate your light night night in a road trip soon yeah oh my god yeah yeah out to a road trip to Tracy Butler has half she has half of the Xena and she's out all right thank you my kind of girl if she somehow still find a way to find Xena somewhere I don't know how she there is enough so out there alright it's time for "In October November in late July twenty sixteen soon after with WikiLeaks, first releases stolen documents a foreign government contacted the FBI about a may twenty sixteen in cow. After with Trump campaign foreign policy adviser, George popadopoulos popadopoulos, it suggested to a Representative of that foreign government that the Trump campaign had received indications that the Russian government from the Russian government that it could assist. The campaign through the anonymous release of information damaging to democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. That information prompted the FBI on July thirty first two thousand sixteen to open an investigation into whether individuals associated with the Trump campaign were coordinating with the Russian government in its interference activities that fall to federal agencies jointly announced that the Russian government, quote, directed recent compromises of emails from US persons and institutions, including US political organizations and these thefts in disclosures are intended to interfere with the US election process and quote after the election late December twenty sixteen the United States imposed sanctions on Russia for having interfered in the election by early twenty seventeen several congressional. Committees were examining Russia's interference in the election within the executive branch. These investigatory efforts alternately led the may twenty seventeen appointment of special counsel, Robert S Muller the third. Order appointing. The special counsel authorized him to investigate quote, the Russian government's efforts to interfere in the two thousand sixteen presidential election end, quote, including any links or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the Trump campaign as set forth in detail in this report, the special counsel's investigation established that Russia interfered in the two thousand sixteen presidential election principally through to operations. I Russian entity. Carried out a social media campaign favored presidential candidate, Donald J Trump and disparaged presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, second Russian intelligence service conducted counter intrusion operations against entities, employee's volunteers, working on the Clinton campaign, and then released stolen documents. The investigation also identified numerous link. Between the Russian government and the Trump campaign, although the investigation established that the Russian government perceived it would benefit from Trump presidency and worked to secure that outcome, and that the campaign expected it would benefit electorally from information stolen and released through Russian efforts. The investigation did not establish the members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities below. We described the evidentiary considerations underpinning statements about the results of our investigation and the special counsels charging decisions, and we then provide an overview of the two volumes of our report. The report describes actions and events at the special counsel's office found to be supported by the evidence collected in our investigation in some instances, the report points out the absence of evidence or conflicts in the evidence about a particular fact or event in other instances when substantial credible evidence enabled the office to reach the conclusion with confidence the where that happen. And a the report states that the investigation established the certain actions or events occurred. A statement that the investigation did not establish particular facts does not mean there was no evidence of those facts in evaluating whether evidence about collective action multiple individuals constituted a crime, we applied the framework of conspiracy law not the concept of collusion in. So doing the office recognized that the word collude was used in communications with the acting attorney general confirming certain aspects the investigations scope, and that the term has been frequently invoked in public reporting about the investigation collusion is not a specific offence or theory of liability found in the United States code, nor is it a term of art in federal criminal law for those reasons the offices focused on analyzing questions of joint criminal liability was on conspiracy as defined in federal law in connection with that analysis. We address the factual question whether members of the Trump campaign, quote, coordinated a term that appears in. The appointment order with Russian election interference activities, we understood coordination does not have a subtle definition in federal law federal criminal law. We understood coordination to require an agreement tacit or express between the Trump campaign and the Russian government on election interference that requires more than the two parties taking actions that were informed by or responsive to the others actions or interests. We applied the term coordination in that sense. When stating in the report that the investigation did not establish that the Trump campaign coordinated with the Russian government and selection interference activities. The report on our investigation consists of two volumes volume one describes the factual results of the special counsel's investigation of Russia's interference in the twenty sixteen presidential election and its interactions with the Trump campaign section one describes the scope of the investigation.

"The hag factor. Of course, she appears in Pepe pig videos. This is creepy sigh up or something that certainly if you want to believe that the paranormal is at foot here that it's stuck in under the radar superior children's videos. It's also remarkable that it shows up as we said earlier in Pepe pig video, especially when we talked about the hag writing the pig. We talked about the black pig prophecy with Tracy twice. And it's pretty scary stuff going on the internet. Basically, you heard Bela who called the program six years old saying that apparently this woman showed up while she was watching Pepe pig with big eyes and a big smile, and she said she kills your family when you lie or when when they lie and she whispered docs, children anyway. Very creepy. Triple eight six seven three thirty seven hundred trillion six seven three thirty seven hundred. Let's go to Alex in Colorado. Hi, Alex from ground zero. Hey, thanks for taking my call. So the bat I received an Email. Late last year October November. Person named Momo. Back. Then I gotta lotta span. So I didn't really say, hey, just deleted. Now. I'm wondering what would happen something else? Earlier today. I never really thought about my mom told me earlier don't look him up on you to don't do it as you said, it was big in Japan. Apparently, I question why is so big in Japan? Was an art. It was okay. It's a work of art. It's basically a Chinese actually a Japanese demon that was created for an art art work. It's the it's this demon looks like something out of the ring. It looks like a haggard. It is connected to what looks like a plucked chicken body with with of course, the chicken feet, and it's a very creepy visage for some reason, it it took on this form of Momo and internet and internet meme spread around back in August. And we had talked about it. Then we said something was going on where there were complaints happening. Where people were saying they were children were watching continuous video sad kids YouTube kids videos, where during the videos there were ads in links or taking kids to strange places where they were marketing teachers talked about rape. There was one that took a two kids to Amazon that showed old men in diapers with crutches. Just sit Denver weird oddities that they said were happening. And then, of course, Momo showed up and Momo took on this personification of the blue whale challenge. Which is something where there's there's actually a list of things that they want kids to do. And basically what it does is it mine controls them and discourages them and puts them in a in a fit of despair and tells them that they need to go to bridges in dangle their feet down off the bridge. Then eventually people jump up bridges and die because they commit suicide. Now, there was a report from Mexi. Reports from South America that Momo had appeared a little girl in Buenos Aires had hanged herself saying she did it for Momo. There was also the Mexican authorities internet authorities in Mexico were saying that it was a phishing scam. That, you know, kids recalling it just out of curiosity, and then MoMA would call back announced them for their location where they live, and and what their names are. So they could fish information out of out of the kids, and that they blackmailed emotionally saying that if you if you tell anyone about this, or we will tell something about you that we know, and we'll tell your parents and the kids, of course, being scared. I would say don't tell my parents, and they were frayed that there'd be revealed or exposed and so they killed themselves. And so this this is this is continued now, I guess I mean we thought that it was over being back in August. Where report I thought it was over by October. But apparently, it's resurfaces down reach the mainstream and people are in hysteria. And that's why I wonder if this is a well thought sigh up, or if we really want to get terrified we can say something got loose into the internet that it's got a mind of its own kind of a goal. To the machine. Said I received an Email probably early middle November last.
