We've all been talking about this Mississippi state pitcher all morning off the air too, trying to figure out this guy can throw lefty and righty as a pitcher and he can throw it equally 90 plus miles an hour with both arms. Is there a genetic aspect of being ambidextrous and obviously you'd have to cultivate both arms, but that just seems just amazing to me. I don't know. I think most people who are right or left handed, they can't imagine using the other appendage for anything. All these guys were driving bentleys. Let me tell you something. People can tell your privilege right on site. Which is cool if you're making $5 million or $20 million for a significant period of time. But if you're a rookie in the NBA and that's your only season, driving that Bentley may be short lived. And he put on 13 pounds of muscle, and the reason I mentioned this, I think he can officially beat me in a fight now. I think it's officially over. And I think he knows it now. There's a different, there's a different energy in our house now where he's like, he kind of knows he's the alpha. And I would still beat him because I would fight to the death, but I'd really have to cheat now. Like I would have to poke him in the eye. Yeah, I'd have to hit him in the balls. I would have to like grab his hair and have to basically, I'd have to like ratty piper at basically. I'd have to throw salt in his eyes when he's not looking, but if it's just convention, I'll know all the tricks. I'll still win. It's like my wife plays tennis 6 times a week and I'll always be able to be here because I can always get in her head. With him, I'll still win, but if it's just straight up, like if we're in like a UFC cage or something, like he's winning now. My day is done. It's a wrap. Wow. Yeah. Really, it's over. He might have two more inches. Well, you know, if he wants to pay like $950, they could, it could really work on his yearbook picture to make him whatever weight he really wants to be. "It is we're taping this at a little later today. It's 5 o'clock, Pacific time, p.m.. You can do this in the morning. I feel like that extra 7 hours really gained us an edge. We got killed a $1 million picks. We'll talk about that in a second. Action packed football week. I mean, wow, I talked about Rogers at the top. I know you talked about it on your show as well. I think we're both instant to see how the NFL handles that, whether they handle it this year, whether they wait, but clearly some rules were broken. So we have that. We have the Odell thing, kind of unfolding, where it seems like he's going to get wave traded, whatever, nothing happens. We had the Watson thing. Where it seemed like that was on the two yard line to borrow a football term to Miami and ended up not happening. And then and then your guy McVeigh goes and gets von Miller for a second and a third against Denver to pay his entire salary. Quick question. Is von Miller's still von Miller? Is he 70% of von Miller? The hope is that he is. And obviously, I can unpack this a little bit more that we're three days removed. They tried over the off season to get von Miller and the Broncos were like not yet. Let's see what happens this season. Season starts von Miller was awesome to start to see. And once he got in the field, he was second quarterback. Then last week, the rams traded Kenny young, who was like a good young linebacker to the Broncos for a 6th round pick and a lot of people were like, well, what was that all about? And in those conversations they're like, would you trade von and the Broncos were like, we might trade von? And then it's really funny that they play this game in Houston, the rams. And they don't have great Wi-Fi on their plane. So they take off leaving Houston and they have no idea what's happening in the late window games. They land in the Broncos had beaten Washington and the Chargers had lost to the Patriots. So now the Broncos are four and four, and a game out of first. And they're assuming ah, this thing is done. Like the Broncos, they're suddenly going to say, well, we can actually win the division to call up Monday morning and the Broncos Vasquez like a second and a third. We'll pay for most of salary, but if he goes to second and the third will do it. So they're doing it. And I think one of the reasons Vaughan wasn't dressed on Sunday last week, they thought he might be able to go, might not have been one of those deals. We're like, let's not risk this trade that we're going to be doing with the rams. So they win the game anyway. He's practicing. He looks good and I can tell you like the intangible stuff, which it's actually really similar. And I went to their game last night against the hawks. It's really similar to what Brooklyn's doing where it's like we sold out and we're all in, but like we're not done. We're going to get patty mills. We're going to go and get Aldridge. We're going to go and get Millsap and it's very similar where it's the lift that it brings the other veterans that they know that, wait, the front office, we're 7 and one recruiting, but the front office isn't satisfied. I'm told Leonard Floyd walked into the building. Wasn't aware and caught wind that they traded for von Miller. And it's like running down the aisle like the hallway. He's like, let's go. Von Miller, that's the cool stuff that hopefully it plays out and he's healthy and it's all good. But it's the Lyft knowing we're not just all in. We're all in all in all in it. We had Scott pioli, former patriots executive, and he was the chief's GM and I think we had him on good morning football and he was like, none of this matters unless they win. So we can celebrate their all in stuff. And I'm like, it's a great point, but the rams know that. They're very deliberate. They're like, it's Super Bowl or not. They know it's a failure, if not. And they'll deal with the cross that bridge when they get there. It's a cool philosophy and it's for veterans. Like the young guys, they'll have to deal with that when it's time. But these veterans, they love it, the coach loves it. And they're all in. It's an interesting parallel with the nets. I hadn't thought of that. So you think like, 'cause we saw this in basketball and I don't remember when it started. Sometime this century, it definitely was the last century of guys kind of doing the ring chasing thing. I guess maybe Mitch Richmond started it with the Lakers Lakers sure. And it's like yeah, and the older guys would kind of gravitate towards the teams of the superstars. So like, for instance, Odell, let's say Cleveland waves Odell. And could he look at it and go, I'll just go with the rams and try to win a ring and then I'll figure out my big contract next year. We certainly haven't seen it work in football. The paths, I think they're in the Brady Belichick the peak. They were always like trying to cherry pick the ochocinco, Albert haynesworth type guys. Trying to get him on small contracts with the thinking you're going to win if you come here. But for the most part, the football part is the time span is so short to make money. I think it's pretty hard to be like, yeah, I'm going to take the minimum for a year, just try to win a wing. What does it get you? Well, I mean, it's interesting. So Desean Jackson sort of did that with the rams and what happens to a lot of these football players. And again, I'll open the bag of what really happened there. He came in to McVeigh's office and was like, let's talk about my touches. I'm only getting 5 to ten snaps a game. I want to play a role in McVeigh's like, dude, you're in your hometown. We're 6 and one. You're getting on the field. I don't know. And he said, I'd like to explore a trade and Sean was basically in the front office. We're like, sure, like, explore a trade. Where do we go from here? So I think with a lot of these wide receivers and Beckham might be included. It's not enough to just be on the team. Like Lesean McCoy has two Super Bowl rings and is like happy to have those. But it was with the chiefs in the box. And I don't think that validates his career in any way. In the NBA, and it's less people in the NBA, too, where it's like, yeah. If you're in a 9 man rotation, the NBA, you're really playing. And NFL just 30 guys are playing? 32? It's like one of those deals where I look at the NFL and you talk about your friend who's a Vikings fan. They're three and four. They've got a lot of good players. They're not winning anything this year. They're probably not winning anything next year. It's like purgatory. And I was watching the hawks last night and they're good and they're young and they're going to be fine..

I don't want to fuck the bill for Belarus. It's all kinds of escapades that the Russians have been up to recently that you know, I'm not super costly, but when you start to add them together that increases the bill, and if now Belarus becomes financially dependent on Lukashenko on Russia. That's also extraordinary, awkward for Vladimir Putin, who was himself said that he wants to stay in power somewhat indefinitely. But if lucky, Shankar goes, is a result off a popular surprising It's pretty bad for Putin if Russia is already overextended. Is there a chance that Putin might say Look, this is not worth the hassle and encourage Lukashenko to respond to the EU's demands and Become less of an international pariah. It's possible. It depends on whether there see you no greater upside than a down side because again, Putin will not want to see Lukashenko ousted from power as the result of a grassroots opposition movement. Now, if Lukashenko then becomes dependent on Russia on Russia helps orchestrate his removal, or at least in the manages to get him completely subservient to them, And that is a different matter. But right now, I think it's unclear so the Russians are watching to see how everyone responds. And of course, what Lukashenko has done this but the whole world on notice because if we let lucky Shankar get away, if with this we could be pretty sure in the context of the rest of the world, not just in Europe that others will attempt this, too. No. You've been speaking with Belarusians and exile. How do they view this week's events? Well, that completely shocked, as are many of the citizens of neighboring countries and political activists from the Baltic states, Poland, you know you name it. You have to also bear in mind that the road large Belarussian diasporas outside of Belarus. So there's a lot of countries with stake in what happens in the future of Belarus. People are very worried about the collapse of the country. A strong reaction to Lukashenko. People fleeing across the borders on, of course, is a great concern about the potential absorption of Belarus by Russia as well. So there's an awful lot at stake here. And people extraordinary worried about European Union, the United States and others not having a sufficiently robust response that puts Belarus on notice. So when the NFL receiver come come home and all season I'm in shape to show how it should look. No, I haven't just been sitting on my butt. You know the past 10 years, so they love it. You know, obviously they watch me growing up and being able to show how it should look in person and talk about the game of football in general and route running and footwork. Man, This is awesome. Like I really enjoyed that two hours. That's man. We're just, you know? Yeah, this afternoon. I like it. Good stuff. We're told Chad Ochocinco, a couple of old pros. The only threats were when the Steelers ripped off 11 straight wins, But let's be fair. As much as you know, we were loving it. And, you know, competition just breeds. You know, more interesting results for us his fans of his broadcast or so the fact that they were, you know, unblemished in into, I guess that would be November. Obviously the fact that we all knew the bills were coming. It added some uncertainty. A put quotes around that, But think about the narrative with the Chiefs this year, whether it's right or wrong is team 1 15 1.5 the time we get on the air on Monday, saying they didn't even play that well, 14 into 14 for 14 years, don't count. Yeah. Yeah, but they don't even play that. Well, No, they didn't do it for very long stretches. We were Probably more critical, which speaks to their greatness and their explosive powers. You know these players during the regular season And then all of a sudden they act like a genius. They go. Oh, my God. You've seen this guy, this Smith guy in Alabama. Yeah. Yeah, he's been doing it all season long. The jet should take him Number two. Overall. Also based off last night is when now Now you've seen enough with Devante Smith. Was it the previous game or the previous game or the priest? Yeah, So now they're talking about Devante. Smith, who wasn't even on the list for Heisman candidates to start the year wasn't even considered the best wide receiver on his own team to start the season. It's almost like this meteoric rise like Joe Borough had way we've seen this recently. Where you go. Wow. Where did this guy come from? Mean, Joe Burrow came out of nowhere. He was going to be targeted as 1/5 round rap pick. Right fifth round draft pick. Then he's number one pick overall. Devante Smith. Nobody knew him. Or at least you knew him. But you know, you thought all well you know, they've had Judy and rugs and waddle and you know this other guy Devante Smith as well. And then all of a sudden he becomes the featured guy. And then wins the Heisman Trophy. But what I take him number one overall, I'd have to know a whole lot more about him. Number two number two. Overall, I'd have to know a whole lot more about him and what the Jets are going to do. If the Jets stay with Sam Darnel, then you take the Vontae Smith. Is Jamaar Chase member Jamaar Chase didn't play this year. He's the L S U wide receiver. And was widely considered the best receiver coming into college football this year. Is he better than Devante Smith? Is he different than Devante Smith? When you have that wide receiver You can get open in college. Can't always get open in the NFL. Now they do jet sweeps. They do all of those things to try to give you a little bit more room to maneuver very thin, Very small. Um, but you got to get your hands on. And if you don't Then you're in trouble because he'll make you pay. He made a corner. He turned the corner last night. It just simple route. He turned the corner. There. Three guys. They're from Ohio State, and he ran right by them. And they had the angle. There's nobody else in college football who has that now we've seen other players have unbelievable speed. What he does, and the scout said to me last night as we're watching. Because he said, he sent me a note he goes. This isn't fair. And I said What is in fair he goes. Devante is just not fair. And he said he reminds me of Chad ochocinco in running routes, he said. What will be lost when guys run fast? Nobody ever talks about. Do they run a route? How do they run their routes? It's just like Henry rugs can run by you, but I don't know if he could be a great football player. Jerry Judy did not play well for Denver this year. These were all very talented Alabama wide receivers, but what separates Devante Smith from them from what? I was told his ability to run around. And run a crisp route. And I said, Well, could he be Steve Largent and Bob Hayes? And he said, his ability to run around like Steve Largent, who is as good around runners we've ever had And then Bob Hayes's as fast as anybody who's ever played the position. Hey, said he has that ability. That hybrid of I could end any settees humble. Said one of the traits nobody ever talks about what Devante Smith is. He's humble said Did you see him celebrate at all any of his touchdown last night? Maybe celebrate. Does he do any of that? He just He plays football. He's an entertaining. He's an entertaining football player. He's not an entertainer. There's a difference now. I don't know what he's gonna be like when he gets to the NFL, but what you see and what you saw, According to this NFL scout who's the source? You said he's humble. Goes out there in place. He does all he does everything that you want a player to do. He's not a star. He doesn't act like a star, and he said, that's very attractive. When you're trying to put together a game plan, he might be a decoy. At some point when it gets to the NFL, like you've got to be ready for a variety of things when you get to the NFL, But he said, it seems like he is equipped to get ready for that next step. But give credit to him because he is a unbelievable route Runner. Yeah, I always worry when again like you said he's got more than just speed when speed is the number one thing, and when someone's wispy, wiry, I get worried.
