"Climate change. A new study suggests. Climate change has influenced the shifting of the geographic, north and south Poles, the study says. Melting glaciers and global warming are most likely the cause of the eastward shift of the north and south Poles. And that had happened in the mid nineties. It was published in the peer reviewed journal Geophysical Research Letters, which is a publication of the American Geophysical Union. Polls are not fixed, and the study also said that ice melt isn't the only thing causing them to shift. The pumping of ground water for agriculture is also another factor. It pointed to changes in water mass in areas including California and northern Texas, as well as Beijing and northern India, where there have been large amounts of groundwater pumping. Daniel J. The Traders Journey: Clarity Understanding Your Plan
"Welcome to the of crypt. I show once again. Version of the traders junie tonight will cover around. I guess the The free checklist to my checklist. So once you found the trade you know what sort of things do you need for. Tried to be tried. But this this is going assad from the actual checklist to find a trade. Obviously i've got three trading strategies for those that don't know three trading strategies they all have checklist of essential factors that must be met and bonus factors that helped to build from ability. And if you've got a couple of trades. John pick which one or which ones to go with. But just for those of you know the trading strategies and trying to work out what constitutes trade to an investment. We'll trade for me requires at least two things. It needs to have an entry and the stop loss. Now i say many people talking about trade. They've taken bit but they they basically don't have a stop loss and it's not really trading buying something and hoping it goes up that's cool investing essentially you know buying it and going well a white until it gets back up to the before still. That's not a great strategy. It's okay for investing if you're looking to be buying solid projects that you believe in long term but that's not trading to me. You need to have an entry in a stop loss plan as well so getting into a trade is one thing was the entry point is where you enter the stop losses where you get at if If you think it's going against you if the reason for entering the trade becomes invalidated this is where you'll stop plus be so they're three things you must have for it to be a try. The third thing as i say is a plan. Now you going to scale out. I take some profit on the way maybe minimize the risk or are you going to take a full profit. You're going to take the entire profit. Two three two one four to one or do you feel as though might be a good time to let this bad boy run. Trial your stop-loss higher lows in an uptrend as they are set and that way you can look to take advantage of potentially much much bigger moves. So that's really really important to understand. What a trade actually constitutes for you and then you can go about how. You're going to plan that something else that you want to consider is what sort of trying to be a you. Are you trying to trade for dollars. Are you trying to try to increase your bitcoin stack for example or you trying to trade so you try to increase your theory balanced now. These are the typical markets. You can try against terror. You can try it against bitcoin. Obviously and you can try it against the theory and there are some other platform tokens. You can try it against such as bonnet. it's talking that sort of thing but more or less most of the volume occurs against the big dogs adult the theory of ambig- bitcon. So if you're going to be trying a theorem for example through twitter. A questions coming about building a theorem stack for long-term investments. If you're looking to build your theory stack. I think the trading against twitter trading trading against theorems a good option. The only issue you've got. He is on a theory as you often have themed books which means you have thin volume. Which means you're susceptible to slippage k so you might not get fulfill or you might get filled at different price. This is more common. Notice calling me. Try against bitcoin or you try and against the dollar ted because there's a lot more volume going on now. If you do decide you want to try to increase your theorem stuck. It doesn't really matter where the money comes from. If you're trying to build your us detail that will send that over and by therion if you'll try against bitcoin and you get a good prophet and you bank in. Bitcoin sent that bitcoin across will transfer that for a theory. And it doesn't necessarily mean you have to try it against that one pay consistently you've just gotta work at what you do your profits and where you move them to. So that's another thing to consider what you're going to do what you're trading for you trying to build a portfolio or. Are you trying to pay your bills. Ossified now ideally. If you're fulltime trader it's a nas position to being where you can actually pay bills and you can keep money aside for investing and building that portfolio. This is something that needs to be considered second to that is what is the plan beyond that. Okay are you going to reward yourself and you must do this. You've got to be rewarding yourself. If you don't plan everything. I've i've i. I wouldn't hold a dream board because such along those lines of knowing what. I'm after this this trips that i want to do with my family There's you know when. I'm fifty years all y'all that i can travel around australia and see this wonderful country from the ocean side. There's a lot of different things different parts of my life now. These goals are tied back to my day to day. Actions to keep me focused. So it's about keeping him on clear and the best way to keep your mind clear. Obviously it's retains bet your exercise meditation diving. Whatever it is you do that makes you and keeps you grounded. That's important when it comes to trading knowing what you're doing this fall helps a kit. You sent in within that moment because remember the only time that you have is the now you've only got now. There is no other time than you have any control of other than right now. So focused on now. Having that clarity of your plan is going to help you and clarity. Well you make better decisions and better decisions. Generally quite a bit or outcomes so this helps have a fantastic day off now.

"From Oceanside, California on this last weekend in August, 2020 For those of you who have never been here or Even more appropriate For many of you who have come to Oceanside or gone through Oceanside. You might be tempted to think of it as just another California Beach town, and in many cases, it would give you that impression. When I first came down here in 1971, it was just another California Beach town. Very, very much. Part of the military at that point still is Because of its proximity to Camp Pendleton. But it's really grown since then. And believe it or not, As you know, there's ah, a supposed to what? One person said about anything west of the Hudson. There's no there there. There's a lot of their here. There's a lot of history here and joining me now from the Oceanside historical Society is Christy Hawthorne. All right, Christy. Great. Thanks for having me Peter Prison. You've been here. What about 27 years? Actually 37 37 years. You know what I feel? But when you came here in 1983 It to me, right? Even then, it was just orders like a sleeping military beef town. It was a military beach town in the 19 eighties. It was really transitioning were had a kind of hit a rough patch. Economically. Downtown was in a downturn and but we great thing about a downturn. Is it eventually going to hit up turn, and it was just a few short years. Actually, Ocean side began its renaissance. And why Why? Well, because, as you mentioned, we are California Beach Town and who doesn't love a California Beach town? We were the most affordable beach town on the coast in California. And finally, somebody got smart, absolutely absolutely one of the things That we had going for us was the ocean side Pier another way, which is the longest wooden pier in the West Coast. Yes, Yes. So it's our claim to fame. Oceanside has had six piers. We wouldn't be ocean side. I don't think without it, but it's one of the amenities that we offer here. Now. Of course, I hate to ask you had six peers because Well, because, you know, eventually over 130 year period, you know, they do wear out on DH when we the first one was built in 18 88. It was probably low to the ocean. The technology to build those things was an all wooden pier One storm. Goodbye. Yes, absolutely. It lasted. You know all of two years and it was gone. And most of the piers that I see in California these days are not wouldn't right. We have a concrete approach, but ours is a wooden pier. It's probably the most affordable way to build. They had looked into construction. Excuse me all concrete pier in 1927, but the cost was too prohibitive. Really? Yeah. Today. Well, today even appear that we have that was built in 1987 was at a cost of $5 million so on and that's an all wouldn't pierce. He can imagine that cost of rebuilding that today. Exactly One of the things I find fascinating. Is that? What back in 1988? You started the oral history program? Yes. And you've been able to preserve those memories on absolutely because there's nothing like a living history and people who can tell you their journey, you know, not even just through ocean side. But what brought them to Ocean side or the stories of their parents? Or the grandparent's getting a glimpse of what Oceanside used to be in the thirties? Forties fifties? Even you know nowadays, of course, you know the eighties or historic s O. You know, preserving this history is really important. You're just a couple of minutes ago, we were talking to John Daniels and their surf history. Of course. Absolutely. Yes. Yeah, we have the California Surf Museum here in Ocean side, So the surf history is very big. It started here at the lifeguards. They would just use their boards there rescue boards that they were used to paddle out to save someone, and they started figuring out that they could surf on them. And so that kind of transition here in ocean side and kind of very natural way. And But there's much more than just serve history. Oh, absolutely earlier in the show, But you have a tattoo museum here. We do Have a tattoo museum. Yes. On Mission Avenue. The front front line tattoo? Yes. That he got his is the original tattoo and the art is the art from the arcade tattoo parlor that was very big in the fifties and the sixties. World famous tattoo artists. You know you've been here 37 years from the historical point of view. What's the thing that surprises you the most about Oceanside? Well, you know, one of the things I learned recently. You know, a lot of people know here in Ocean side. He may be abroad that you know Barbara Mandrell the You know, huge time country Western singer, you know, grew up here in Ocean side. We're graduated in Oceanside. Hi. Cut her first record in Oceanside. But just across the street from us now was actually the 101 wheel club and country and Western size like Merle Haggard and Little Jimmy Dick ends, You know, they got their start here. They played here They would to her and come to California and so just across the street was one of the things I discovered just a couple of years ago. I mean, I'd heard those but just a research and find this kind of gem things because again equating a surf history with country Western music doesn't Really melt. But apparently did Yeah, it's all a part of ocean sites, interesting culture. And so we have layers and layers and layers. And you can access a lot of this online. Can't Yes, we have a website. Ocean side Historical society dot or do we have a great Facebook page? You have an instagram page. Sure you're up to speed? Yes. From the Oceanside. Thank you. Thank you so much. Peter. That means we have time for this hour would.

I've been coming since I'm 21. It's a great beach town. It's got great history. It's uncrowded and I can tell you in the era of covert 19. The beaches here are now open. The restaurants are open. Mars or not, but that's okay. I don't need alcohol to have a great time. And you know what very manageable location. Even get here by car. It's about an hour and 40 minutes from Los Angeles. About an hour from San Diego. You could take the Surfliner. Of course, the Amtrak from L. A to San Diego stops right here in Oceanside. And the cool thing about it is you really are on the ocean side. When that train pulls into the station. You're looking right at the beach. It's great. Ah, lot of things to talk about in the news this week, So let me get to them. I'll give you the tally. From last week. Remember? I mentioned that 34 airlines had failed since the virus started that figures about to grow. However, one piece of slight good news At the very last minute in the high court in London, Virgin Atlantic got bailed out when the creditors decided to waive about 20% of what was owed to them. And there was a $1.2 billion a package that will keep Virgin Atlantic in the air at least through next February. So that's good news. That may not be flying as many flights, but they will stay flying. In the cruise business a little bit later in the show. We'll be talking to our maritime historian Peter Kananga, who also happens just to live here in Oceanside, as well on a report that he'll give us on which ships Are still sailing, but maybe only on a one way trip to the scrap yards. That number continues to grow. It's AH, it's disturbing and sad on and that's going to continue. Uh, speaking of cruises earlier this week. You may remember. Last week we talked about the Centers for Disease control, no sale order that's extending through October. That's not new, however. There's every reason to believe the CDC is going to extend that through the end of the year, which wipes out the rest of 2020 for most cruises. Princess has already announced delays of their ships sailing into next year. 2021 Crystal is delayed. All of their cruises. They cancel them all for this year. And then just three days ago, Cunard announced they were pushing back the sailings of their three main ship's right. The Q M too. The Queen Elizabeth in the Queen Victoria, as far back is next May. Wow, I didn't see that one coming, so there's some news there as well. And we're going to see what happens. Peter Kananga will have a more detailed report a little bit later in the show. In the hotel business. Not great news, either there some motel. But someone tells by the way in Dr markets that are operating now at about 51% occupancy, which compared to what it was three weeks ago is huge. And not the most financially financially sustainable figure, but so much better than it Wass. However, most international gateway hotels are closed. Most big city hotels are not really open the way they used to be, or they're not open at all. And what's really scary and we'll be talking about that a little later in the show. With our travel icon Jerry Inzerillo he's calling in from Riyadh in Saudi Arabia is foreclosures in the hotel business, not marry at Hyatt Hilton. You know, not not the not the the big brands that you know. But the actual owners of the hotels that these brands managed the foreclosure numbers are going way up people unable to pay their debt service and may not ever reopen. If it all you know, maybe in the short term, so all of that is leading me to my next item up for bids, which is October 1st going to be a very dark day. In the airline business because that's the day after all the cares Act provisions run out that required the airlines to keep all their employees on staff and to keep their planes flying all of their schedule destinations. As you may have heard. I know. We talked about this last week about a leaked memo from American Airlines about number one. How many people they're going to furlough on that day, and how many routes they were going to drop up to 30? Well, it turned out to be true. Earlier this week, American announced 15 of those cities They were going to drop. You'll find them on our website Peter Greenberg dot com but they include cities like Roswell, New Mexico. And New Haven, Connecticut and Springfield, Illinois, and many, many others, the 1st 15 of 30,.
