Warriors must pay $40M in arena debt to Oakland, Alameda County, arbiter rules
The Golden State Warriors must pay off the estimated $40 million in remaining debt incurred by Oakland and Alameda County for renovations to Oracle Arena, an arbitrator has ruled. A 1996 demolition and redesign of the arena’s interior cost about $150 million, to be paid over a 30-year period. Since then, the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum Authority has collected an annual payment from the basketball team of $7.4 million to help pay off the debt.

Okay. We'll just reset this for you. The Los Angeles Rams Kansas City. Chiefs game will not be played in Mexico City because a terrible field conditions and safety concerns. It will be played at the Coliseum on Monday night. And Kevin demo off president of the Rams will join us at two thirty as we sort through. How the details. Go from here time for fast sponsored by Rex. If you're thinking of selling your home. Try wrecks the lowest fee full service agency saving wholesalers twenty five grand on average. If Rex doesn't sell your home in sixty days, they'll introduce you to your next agent to get started. Visit Rex home dot com. All right on one side of the coin, John. Let's. I think it should be heads. It's a good thing that they've moved the Rams chiefs game to the Colosseum on Monday night and tales. It's a great thing that they moved is. I will call it in the air. And I call tales. It's a great thing. Great. Jam for the Rams when they completely didn't expect one they thought they had a neutral field. And now they've got their home crowd mind by Mesa serve with this one on Monday. This is an actual true story. You're going to think I'm making this. I'm not all right. The warriors sent an Email to fans offering a monthly in the building pass. According to ESPN, the past get you into oracle arena for every home game for a hundred bucks a month. There's a catch to this though, the mobile pass get you into the building, but doesn't include a seat or any view of the actual court. Any view of the court. The pass will get you access to the bars and restaurants where you can watch the game on TV it is believed. This is the first time a professional sports team is offering access to fans to be in the building for home games yet. Can't actually watch the game with a view of the court. Here's my question. Do you think some? Like, this will work will it catch on and more teams will do it or will people pass on paying one hundred dollars to get into the building with no seat. I actually think people will do this for one hundred bucks for five or six games into you've been to these suites upstairs people in the sweets, just watch the games on TV. They're really not even watching the game. Now of all say this in the metoo era at the risk of being sexist. But a lot of hot girls hang out in those concourses where the TV's and my wife and her friends go to these games than sitting there seats about twenty percent. And you know, there's even a club as they're still club. It is hide still table. Don't know the answer to that. I mean for a long time. There was a club up there called hide where people just went and drank and watch the game on a big screen TV. No, I think being part of it and being in it. He said, I'm very anxious to to monitor this and see what happens because if it works every team will do it every sport. No question. Oh or right chat. Let's play some NFL this or that. Funchess. You can play John you can play Greg. You can play. I don't have a pen. I do John. You always you go. All right, number one. Patriots lost by twenty four points to Tennessee. That is their biggest loss since a Kansas City in two thousand fourteen or be at Seattle in two thousand thirteen. I think another thing answer a Greg you go first. Seattle Seattle TJ or Kan city. I'm going funchess Kansas City. It is Kansas City in two thousand fourteen. Sorry about that this great. That was great. Yeah. That was their biggest loss. Hi Todd Gurley scored on Sunday. He's now has a touchdown in thirteen straight games. That is the longest streak since a Marshall Faulk in two thousand or be ladainian Tomlinson in two thousand five. I'm gonna go Tomlinson, Greg yet, Tomlinson LT you guys are both right? Are all three right ladainian Tomlinson, two thousand five had a streak a couple of games longer. Patrick Mahomes now has thirty one touchdown passes through ten games through ten games. The only guys with more are a drew Brees. Matt Ryan or be Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. Fudge Tom Brady, man. I agree with them. Drew brees. Greg, of course. Right. Tom precious three. Greg has won the Rams pressured. Russell Wilson on sixty one percent of his dropbacks. That's the most in a game in the last ten years the second highest percentage of pressures on a quarterback is a Tennessee versus Johnny Menzel in two thousand fifteen or be Denver. Broncos vs David car in two thousand two. Go Menzel, Greg. I gotta catch up to you. All go car. I'll say David car. Greg, of course, wrong you I wanted to Menzel Ireland. Four for four and the last one Browns quarter disciplined toward to Browns quarterback. Baker Mayfield completed eighty five percent of his passes on Sunday. That's most for a Browns quarterback in a game since a Vinny Testaverde or B Bernie Kosar. I will go Vinny Testaverde, Greg. I wanted to I'll go coast different. I'll be I'll say any Greg. Of course wrong. Dancers many tests Verdy degree get any right or don't get one. I got him. I beat him six to one opposite on that. Is that's a sad spectacle. Right. That was your what you purposes, you're Michael Thompson answer when I say, Michael, you're the worst three point shooter in Lakers history. He made one of Levin. He goes, oh, I've thrown them all up at the end of games. Of course. Shots couldn't make them. Anyway. All right Mace. We all changed our clocks last Saturday turning those back one hour. No, it's nice. You generally speaking all the clocks changing shelves now. We will spring forward in six months. Yeah. In arizona. They just never changed their clocks, they figure it's only a one hour difference there in mountain time all year. Why don't we do that? It's only one hour. Why don't we just leave? The collects the same all year. Well, I will tell you that. I don't know if you realize it or not. But didn't we pass a ballot initiative to stay on daylight savings time counseling? Now, we passed a law. So so it's going to happen or it's not going to happen. Why is it not going to happen because it has to be federal law needs to allow it first? And if you vote it needs a disorder still needs to be voted on. But I'm in favor of never changing our clock did vote on it. We voted on it. But now you need to use to be federal law approved, and they need a two-thirds vote to make it through third vote of the country. Yes, why does what it said why do we need to thirds? Now. It's more. Confusing verse. That's ridiculous. Leave the clocks alone investigation. Talk. I don't even think you know, what you're talking about. Well, that wouldn't be a I I they are calling her John supermom a forty three year old British woman named sue Radford gave birth to her twenty first child so Friday after her twelve minute labor that was quick she told the media that her new baby girl Bonnie would be her last. She had her first baby when she was fourteen that kid is now thirty K fan all by the way, all with her husband K famously former NFL star in Tonio Cromartie has ten kids by an unknown number of women equally famous fill rivers says eight kids, obviously, all with his wife all this happens against a declining birth rate in the US American women are having an average of one point eight children. What do you think of the supermom and her achievement Twenty-one kids, you go supermom? I have nobody you know, if you wanna have Twenty-one kids you go for it. I think that is a tremendous amount of. An incredible -ccomplish. Yeah. And but if they can support the kids and their parents more power to him. And then what do you think when you hear that a couple has a lot of kids like Phil rivers, you'll hear people kind of snark about. Oh, yeah. He's having another kid. What do you think? When you hear somebody has a lot of kids. I think I'm glad you want a big family. Good for them. I, you know, I never judge. How many you know how other? Here. Phil rivers says a silver says, he has eight kids is man that is a lot of maintenance. It is that's turn meals. It's a lot of laundry college tuition. Yeah. I mean, I think he can afford to handle that. Yeah. But I have one kid, and I'm praying that he'll take care of me when I'm old I think Phil's got that covered. No fill at least one of them's going to say. Okay. One of those kids will take care of them. So isn't that up the birthright birth rate is actually on the verge of declining where population is going to get smaller instead of larger and by the way, their countries like Japan that are averaging less than one kid their population. Actually is declining. People are just having fewer kids fast chat. I may. There's a movie out called the front runner. You said you saw is okay weekend. Yeah. It's the story of Gary Hart who was the front runner for the democratic nomination for president in one thousand nine hundred eighty seven when he was caught with Donna rice. So woman who is. Not as wife on a boat in Florida name, the boat was monkey business key business after a picture of rice sitting on Hart's lap went public. His campaign was doomed and he dropped out of the race. Here's my question. But actually two questions as well. As the movie any good. The movie is frigging. Awesome. Good Hugh Jackman is so good as Gary Hart. He nails it. He's got the hair. So good areas is Australian accent and his wife is played by verifying Migas. She's fantastic. J K Simmons is the place. Did you know nobody Donna rice plays a very small role in this story. She's barely barely in it. It's more about the campaign. It certainly didn't she she was ruined by this for brief time. I assume she I hope she's ok now she I remember her. I think she she got really religious after. But anyway, here's here's long strong recommend for that. I would imagine Hugh Jackman is going to be nominated for best actor, okay? If that happened to a presidential front runner today that exact story would the candidate have to drop out of the race. Or could he survive it in? I think you'd survive, and especially I think all the changed host Bill Clinton. Right. I think anybody can survive anything and President Trump is a little bit indicative of that. Although in real time, it's a it's a little bit of a different story. Like, for example, John Edwards? I don't know if you survive. Now, you don't survive that you don't survive sneaking a camera girl or documentary woman around with you and having a love child, and that stuff probably doesn't doesn't fly. But no, I think the rules of all changed like there was a time. When I thought Gavin Newsom had that thing up in northern California where he ended up dating his campaign managers. Not dating had an affair with his campaign manager was his best friend, and he had an affair with his wife. Life, and it just it didn't stick them at all. Right. And I would say that's the terrible thing. That would eliminate from all future polit political activities, no way, I think that guy can run for president, and it really doesn't matter anymore. So I think that what the interesting thing about this movie. I'm glad I'm glad you liked it. And that it's good. Is that here we are thirty years later. And I think that it would be nobody would even looks totally tame now did totally hand. It's really had to drop out of the race for that. I'll check all right Sunday. Matt Barkley started a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills were placing the Berkeley the great Nathan Peterman nowadays. Peterman was cut the I know in fact. Josh Allens come back after their by to play quarterback for the bills. You know, we always talk about why Colin Kaepernick doesn't get a chance. How about this? This was raised by one one sometimes comes up with great ideas. Why didn't Tim Tibo ever get another chance? I mean what what wouldn't a team like buffalo? Why wouldn't they give a guy like Tibo shot? And there've been other teams in the situation of the years been out of the league for six years. He was ten and sixes starter wanna playoff game for the Broncos. Is it possible that he was blackballed because of his religious beliefs. No, he was he first of all let me correct you. He was given to other chances. He was signed by both the patriots. And the jets the jets not as a quarterback. No. Yeah. He played quarterback fullback and beating out. And so he was giving some opportunities. He just couldn't throw but in an era when name by the way. Admit is an NFL ordered Michael Thompson was an NFL GM. He would've signed Tim tebow in Vince young and had those as theirs is to quarterback gotta be. I mean, at least he's something that's going to give you I mean, buffalo honest God. I mean, God bless map Barkley went out there and won a game for like like convincingly. Really, really? Well, you know, maybe reintroduced himself. I just always wondered why especially in a league where there is a dearth of quarterbacks and we're teams are miserable right now. Why would you not say, hey, that's like well, not only that I think Maytham Peterman is going to be people's exhibit number one in Collin capper Knicks collusion case, I think they're gonna walk in. And they're going to say really, these NFL owners say my client was not giving a chance because of his ability. Here's the tape of my client in his last year playing football. Here's Nathan Peterman five interceptions in the first half. Yeah. I mean, there's just no way you can logically make that argument to to a person. That's that's fairly analyzed feel bad. Good for Nathan Peterman because years from now, we will always remember Nathan Peterman, as this example, right? Nathan Peterman worst quarterback ever that. We can think of is there worst quarterback off the top of your head the Nathan Peterman. No. Not that. I can think of for Nathan Peterman gotta live with that chat. All right funds. Put sixty seconds on the clock. I got game Mace. This is just for you. This is my final question question. Final push. A few years ago Rolling Stone came up with a list of the top one hundred TV shows ever made. I have the top twenty. I'm going to describe these to you. Let's see how many you can get in sixty seconds kind of like the birthday got. Okay. You ready? Okay. Ready? Go bar in Boston. Here's Larry David curb Spock captain Kirk Star Trek by David Lynch wrote. This comma gloss Faris Hawkeye radar. My favorite show ever, president Barton west. Okay. This was Garry shandling is a late night talk show. The Larry Sanders show good. This was. A show that came on after Johnny Carson comedian with a long beard now what sorry David Letterman good. This is your favorite show ever Kalisa. Okay. On this is Judd appetizers show only lasted for a year about high school and how awkward. Okay. This Jon Stewart became famous on the daily show Archie bunker, Allen, the family Tina Fey, Amy Poehler. The Seth Meyers. Rod Serling twilight zone. Bart. Lisa homer. Simpson's. Elaine, Kramer, Costanza Seinfeld. Jon hamm. It's okay. We we get fifteen I've the one opt-out show. It's about freaks and was when you hit and get the final three that we're going to go twenty would have been easy to get Walter white Brigham. HBO crime in Baltimore wire and big pussy. Paulie? Walnuts. Apprentice. Good. If team not bad knows. All right respectable freaks and geeks. Tripped us up that was one when I did it. I went this is going to be that's a really tough one. But they headed it's the Rolling Stone had is the eleventh best TV show, and it's a pretty significant Hannah's employer came thrown to end west wing. Wow. Yeah. It's launched Seth Rogan James Franco, Jona hill. Linda Cartolini a whole bunch of you know, launched a bunch of careers. I see mascot for the Philadelphia. Flyers gritty Grady ingredient, of course, becomes famous on social media for a lot of the wrong reasons. People don't understand gritty looks a little like Justin Turner with a big on because he scares the hell out of kids. That's why people don't understand hard to say exactly what gritty is. I don't know or how he makes sense for a team called the flyers. But gritty received fourteen votes in the race for mayor of Camden, New Jersey. Along with other write in votes for Bill Cosby, and voldemort you travel. Cosby? Kansas measures. By the way, how random is that Camden, New Jersey? Some people got together and said, let's write in gritty you travel. The NBA see a lot of mascots the clippers have got chucked the duck. They even have a baby duck that goes to their south bay clippers games, which is just a door Wli weird two questions. First of all, what do you think of the idea of mascots why worked for the Lakers and the Lakers have never had? And we'll never have a mask, right? If you are a team that needs a mascot. I have. No problem with them. Like, we have one. Great mascot, locally Bailey. Bailey is awesome alias agree. But Bailey is like born out of a great idea for people who don't know we'd told the story a lot Bailey. The lion is named after ace Bailey who was killed in one of the planes on nine eleven and was the was the. At the time the kings director of scouting him and a guy named Mark Davis were flying from Boston back to LA and more in one of the planes had hit the towers and died they went to his family. And they said we're thinking about creating a mascot. We want to name them. Bailey after ace and the reason Bailey wear seventy two do you. Remember? Any of you remember grant you remember why Bailey wear seventy two always seventy two degrees. It's the average temperature year round in Los Angeles and Bailey's great with kids. Always a hospital right on social media. So Bailey is great. But I've no problem with mascots. But I think they're better for college teams. Like, I think Joe Bruin and traveler kind of cool trial Trojan that'll dole deal, but I I'm I'm more of a college math duck. You're not a Chuck the duck guy. You know, it's very gimmicky. It's very clippers yet is so clippers Dhaka's you're masking. All right. Did you are you ought to questions? No. I mean, I can give you more. But we Kevin demo coming up. I can give you one. Give me one. I'm okay, the west gate Las Vegas super book has a line on a mythical game. Have you heard about this? No, okay. Mythical game between Alabama and the Buffalo Bills on a neutral feel right? I guess the spread which team would be favored by how much where's the game neutral field. Buffalo Bills against Alabama the current Alabama team bills, minus six Nath. Okay. Great. Did you did you hear this? Do you know the answer? I do not. Okay. What do you think the spread would be neutral field mythical game between the university of Alabama and the Buffalo Bills who would be favored by how much the bills would be favored by fifteen. All right now, you great. What'd you say may six and a half six fund show and take a shot with the spread would be bills minus eight right? The actual. Line is bills by twenty eight. Many eight point. Yeah. I mean, which made my six Naff with Bill. The game like forty two to ten. But if you had to bet that game you either get Alabama and twenty eight and a half or you get buffalo, and you gotta lay those points rights the right side of the game is the right side of that game. I think. I think you lay the points. I think you lame. It isn't NFL team filled with NFL players me, Nick Sabin and Alabama man, Greg. What do you think you guys are crazy? Give me the bills all day. That's what I said bills. You think the bill's gonna win basically? Yes. Yes. It's an. I find one I'm taking a bills. I've taken a Bill to Alabama owned, by the way, we should ask the fez that we went. Let's the right side of that. Let him let him know that we're coming out them. We got all right there. You have it. There is your fast track. Now, let's restate the top story of the day because it just happened. The Rams chiefs game has been moved folks from Mexico City to the Coliseum. So the Rams will play Monday night in Los Angeles at the Coliseum. Here's what happened the field in Mexico City was ripped up at Shakira concert over the weekend. When the NFL saw the field, conditions and pictures started to get out players threatened to boycott the game NFL fficials were concerned that they couldn't get it recited in time for Monday night's game in Mexico City. I mean think about Mace I complained all year that they moved that game and screwed the ram fans out of their best ticketing game here. Now, they're gonna get it. So if your ram season-ticket older, we're gonna have kevon demo coming up next. I don't know my guess is that if you're a season ticket holder, you're going to be given the option. Season-ticket champ. Oh, we also have heard from listeners who say it would be a great idea to sell all those tickets give you the option to buy your tickets and sell them and give the money to the victims of the fires and the shootings in Thousand Oaks. I'm sure that's something that Kevin's considered to be candid. We don't even know if hill. No, we don't events Jessica yet. Yeah. At at the this announcement came at one fifty half an hour ago. So Kevin's going to give us the latest and what he knows. But what you need to know is there's going to be a football game in Los Angeles on Monday night. The game will still be televised on ESPN nationally and will be carried locally here on ESPN LA just like every other ram game. So the Rams are playing at the Coliseum on Monday, not in Mexico City. Wow. What a crazy game to have at the Coliseum. Both teams are nine and one. The last time there were two teams both nine in one. I think was twenty years ago. Somebody said. At least nine that's crazy. There you have it. Kevin demo is coming up next. We'll see how we're sorting through. All the details of the of the Monday night game. Now at the Coliseum. Mason in Ireland ESPN LA. All right. It is been a big breaking news day early this morning. There was a lot of discussion about the field conditions at. Estado a stick in Mexico City where the Rams were scheduled to take on the chiefs on Monday night. And throughout the day. We heard that the NFL was debating about whether or not to continue with that. And we found out just about forty five minutes ago that the game has been moved to the Coliseum. So it's the nine one ramps versus the nine one chiefs Monday night at the Coliseum and joining us right now is the president of the Rams Kevin demo. Kevin thanks for coming on. How are you? I'm sure it's been a crazy day for you know, it's just another normal Tuesday. I don't even know what day we have. So. It's been it's been a crazy day. But it seems that it's been waiting for the past week. So we this is only dealing with games and not, you know, live your fires are lost home. Well said and we're both actually glad they're moving the game. I think this is great for Rams fans are going to get a chance to watch it. And before I asked you about tickets and logistics. Let me ask you this. Where's the team? And where do they plan to stay between now and Monday. For the team is in Colorado Springs. So they'll be practicing at air force, and they will stay there through the weekend practice, we had arranged mountain advance for the team to be in Colorado Springs in practice at altitude and given the situation we've had around, you know, families being displaced we still have about seventy five staff members who are evacuated Wooding players, and coaches, we thought the best thing to do was to send the team on their way to call spring bus night. They write it last night. I don't have a normal practice week there. And then they'll come back and advance to the game. We chartered a plane today for family members to join coaches and players and staff were in Colorado Springs. So that all families could be together for the week. So everybody is situated in Colorado Springs in ready to focus on on talks team for the chiefs. So I mean, I'm a season ticket holder. I know a lot of season ticket holders are wondering exactly what happens now. Because I I don't think these tickets were part. Of the season tickets that we bought how does this? How does this work? So there will be a couple of ways to go. First and foremost all season. Ticket holders will have their season teeth made available to them at the pricing for the Minnesota game starting today and tomorrow. So with you have seats in the call him they are yours for Monday. If you want them, then season-ticket members will have the option to buy additional tickets the season ticket member benefit, I believe up to four tickets, but don't quote me on that our ticketing people may, you know, yell at me if I'm wrong, so you'll have the opportunity to buy extra tickets for friends and family, and then we'll start a general public on sale tomorrow for season ticket holders who bought tickets to the game in Mexico. The Rams will fully refund those tickets, and then issue your tickets. Okay. So that's the latest on ticket information. Kevin I'm going to read a tweet from Lindsey theory who covers the Rams for us here at ESPN LA. She just tweeted the Rams will be providing thousands of complimentary tickets to Monday night's game to first responders and those affected by the communities. Recent tragedies tell us about that and how that came about. So when you know when this became a possibility really in the past twenty four hours, we shouted organization is Neil from STAN Kroenke on down, especially players and figured out. If we have a game. How do we how do we make sure we honor those who have served our community? So well in the past week from, you know, the unfortunate shootings last Thursday to the fires the past few days, it has been in, you know, an unbelievable week for the first responders who put their life on the lines to to make so many people feel safe. And you know, the idea was let's get you know, tickets to every I respond to that we can find a way to do. So so we are going to the process right now. Truly make thousands of tickets available for free to first responders. And you know, and I would encourage people whether it's season ticket holders doesn't just have to be us. If you want to buy tickets and donate them, you know, we want people to do that as well. So I this game is going to focus on, you know, the unspeakable tragedies communities have had over the past week. And really celebrate the city coming together and rebuild. And while we're thrilled to bring the nine one nine and one ramps the game of the year back to Los Angeles. It's an even better opportunity there to make sure that our people see what it's ridic- community. We have we honor the first responders the right way. And this really helps set Los Angeles on the way to it's horrific rebuilt. So our general manager Scott McCarthy who you know, one of our sales guys markets. They were just here. They had already booked trips to Mexico City. I know that there are other fans who are in the same boat. How do you what do you? What do you say to them? You know, I'm sorry. I mean, we're we're trying to figure out how we can handle fans, obviously, we can refund the tickets as that comes in. And we're going to try to understand that that's the way we can who may tickets, and and what can be done if anything that's a little bit of, you know, we're going to try to figure that out in the next few days and next few weeks, nor I think our first priority right now is making sure the players were safe and feel conditions were correct. Dan to make sure that the families evacuees were safe to try to get a game on on Monday. And while on the list of priorities, making sure we take care of you know, people like Scott market is on it. It's probably a little bit further down the list right now. They should be at the bottom of the list. Yeah. Okay. Get to tell them don't call us. We'll call you. Got him Mark or not my concern? We have a lot. It's ridic- fans. Get buy tickets, and may plans, and you know, we wanna see what can be done for them. And maybe you know, by February. We'll get around. Kevin demo off the CEO of the Rams is our guest. If you're just joining us. The Rams game is going to be at the Coliseum on Monday, not in Mexico City. They moved it. And Kevin I want to ask you a little bit about that. Obviously. This was not a Rams decision. It was a league decision with input from both the Rams in the chiefs. Did you argue one way or the other? Did you want to stay in Mexico where you were you angry? Were you the minute you heard it was a possibility to bring back here? Was it strictly a safety issue or take us a little bit inside the process of what today was like from your chair? Woke first and foremost issue here was player safety for us where could the game be played safely? And I would say new organization we were really looking forward to playing in Mexico City this year, we've made a number of trips down over relationship as a community. We're building a playground with American Airlines cO city on Thursday and Friday, we still plan to do that we were hosting a charity run on Sunday. We still plan to do that in order to been an unbelievable experience for our fans in Mexico and really our organization to play there. I think the difference is this is all about player safety making sure that our players have you know, the best possible conditions to play in. And when it became apparent that. That may not be the case, obviously, our players in the chiefs players became our first priority, and I think Wallin's fantastic hostess game in the call Sam. I don't want to say, we advocated for that we advocated for making sure the field was safe. And also that we can make a decision in time to give people who are planning to go to next to co a chance to change those plans, and certainly to make sure that our fans can fill the call because now the. Challenges. You know, we have a unique opportunity on Monday night to host, you know, one of the games of the year and the NFL and can we fill it up with seventy five thousand screaming Rams fans in honor our first responders and give us a terrific home field advantage. That's the focus right now. Now, the player safety is really been taken care of while. We will do anything we can to help obviously in. It's a it's a unique situation. I can't even think of anything that. There's no no real precedent for this is her. You know the past week. I I don't think there's been any precedent for when you start with you know, the tragedy on on Thursday and the unbelievable response from Andrew Whitworth and Johnny Hecker on our players and then Friday with nearly half of them. We're gonna Dacian having to evacuate coming together. Playing an unbelievable game and winning against the division of Ponant flying out to a different state only to fly find out you're not playing internationally. It's been unbelievable we integrate testament to STAN Kroenke and his leadership to Sean McVeigh and his leadership into all of our players for handling it with grace. And you know, there is no manual for this. But I think most importantly, we have an opportunity really now is the city as a fan base to show the best of what Los Angeles sports is about the best of what the Los Angeles community is about and a were thrilled to be able to play a role to play a leadership role and demonstrating the comeback of the city. And I I think we can show, you know, the nation in the world when an unbelievable environment to call seems to be four four game of this magnitude and or thrilled to have that opportunity. Disappointed to not be playing in Mexico. But you know, this is a great opportunity for our fans and our season ticket holders. I wanted before we let you go. I want them wreak. Sure, we get the information out properly and recap. What you said earlier all season. Ticket holders will have their season seats made available general public on sale begins tomorrow in for season ticket holders who bought tickets to the game in Mexico. The Rams will fully refund. Those tickets and issue new tickets. It did I get all that. Right. That is correct. And the only piece season ticket holders of able to have an additional right to buy extra tickets and a pre sale or working through those details. I was scrolling through that Email when when Steve jumped into my inbox you come on. So that would look the other thing I wanted to I don't mess with the Steve Mason petition. In all things. The last thing I wanted to be doing opposite end of a Steve Mason petition. I'm telling you when I say change. I mean change Kevin you need to put your powers to greater good. I think that's like. Apparently the bodyguard is really good on net flicks. Yeah. I got that one from beetle. Greg says daredevil I say beau Jack horsemen. Bow Jack horsemen some funny. Okay. So. Here's the again, we're gonna hit this every segment. The Rams have moved their game from Mexico City to the Coliseum. Monday night. Rams chiefs at the Coliseum no longer in Mexico. So if you want to go to that game tickets go on sale tomorrow, if you're a season ticket holder, you can go access your online account right now, you not only can buy your seats. But you'll have an option to buy additional CS three four dishes seats, if you're a season ticket holder, and then tickets go on sale to everybody tomorrow is tomorrow ten. Hold on Lindsey just tweeted just two were everything by the way. Everybody's gonna the Rams Twitter account. They just printed ticket details and other game information. So if you go to the Rams on Twitter, they they have it for any any question. You want to ask one PM tickets go on sale to the general public one PM tomorrow tickets go on sale to the general public, and that Twitter address is at Rams NFL at Rams NFL and should point out too that that Kevin demo was on with just just a minute ago. And he said he said the the game will be dedicated to the first responders and to the families of the victims of the terrible shooting in Thousand Oaks from last week. It's been a really really tough time in our community. And by the way, continues to be as the fires continue to burn. And so they're going to use the night to honor first responders. In those families, and we're going to pack the house pack the house for this game. Okay. Another note before we get to give away the t shirt here. Draymond green benched for his behavior last night. At Staples Center, he is not expected to play in the warriors game against Atlanta. So this must have been a significant blow up. Yeah. So they're they're dealing with it. And apparently for for if you if you didn't hear Kevin Durant and Draymond got into it. At the end of games apparently dream on was very define in the locker room that he had done. Nothing wrong. It was at the end of regulation in a tied game dream on grabbed a rebound refused to pass it to anybody dribbled down the floor and turned it over and the his teammates were mad at him. And he came back at them. And now they've ventured them for a game that according to Kris Haines, always say dynasties end. Yeah. Somehow, you just never know how to do it. All right. So give the back story on the Mason in Ireland shirt. So as you guys may have heard. Our last show is apparently June the thirtieth of twenty nineteen. Yep. So I went to war. And I said, you know, what we've been doing this a long time, and I see George Sodano having stuff, and I see the morning show having stuff, and what about us what about us guys who've been here and toiling away and build an audience for years and years. And so I said I want a new logo, and I go to Dan's and bony. And I go to Tom lamb our promotion, I say give us a new logo. And I wanted to look like a shield. I wanted to be a shield because I want people to protect the Mason in Ireland shields. And then I said, okay now there's done I am going to pay for t shirts. And then I was surprised by the fact that even as an outgoing show outgoing June the thirtieth of twenty nineteen we still are getting t-shirts to give away which we thought was nice. This is the last or the first t shirt ever to be given out. And so I have a in true Mason and Ireland forma heavy Mason in Ireland quiz, whoever correctly answers, these five questions these questions are not harvesting. They get the first ever Mason and Ireland Robert in Pasadena Europe. I Robert argue there. Good afternoon. John good afternoon. Robert, you son. You have an excellent voice, Robert. Okay. Robert. So. I'm just gonna rattle these questions off you get all five you get the shirt in the game's over. Okay. Okay. Who is older Mason or Ireland? I believe that Nathan you're out. Because I have silver hair. You think I'm older? Okay. Jonathan in Whittier Jonathan are you there? I'm here. How guys? Going guys. Then. Okay. Here we go Jonathan who's older Mason or Ireland Ireland much older, by the way who Jonathan who. Currently weighs more Mason or Ireland. Late your two for two. Sadly, you're correct. Too many donuts. All right who has worked more Mason in Ireland shows in twenty eighteen Mason or Ireland. Ireland. Correct. Correct. You're close though, although I'm getting to make a comeback as I always did not lives. Oh, no. It is as I always do during basketball season. I do make I do rally. I will bet whatever you wanna bit that. He's not within twenty of me you missed basically the first two months of the year. Right. But I'm saying he won't be within twenty Matru. He figured out that she did miss a lot. But I'll win twenty nineteen. Okay. Hey, Robert is is January for three weeks out about him. Monsters. Here we go Jonathan who used to appear regularly on channel eleven Mason or Ireland. I don't go with Mason. That is correct. I did. So this is it until they fired me, you get the t shirt if you can do this. All right. And this one's a little harder because it's the capper. Yep. All right Mason, and I both love dogs. All right. I have a dog Mason as two dogs. He also had two dogs that passed away recently. Okay. Give me the name of any of those five dogs. And you win the t shirt. That's a tough one. When I say, I know him Mason junior Mason junior is an interesting name that I may put to work in the future. But that is not I am so sorry, so sorry, no Mason junior. So he he Jonathan be confused with two Masons in the he did all the dirty work, which means the first person who can give us the name of any Mason or Ireland dog gets the t shirt AJ and cameo AJ. Do you know the name of Ania Mason's dogs or the name of my dog? I do John Frodo freight show is close enough. Frodo frito Frodo at Prato or close enough. We don't want to be too sticklers here. I'm giving it to you. Did you did, you know, the answer to the other questions? I did. Yeah. Okay. All right. So you the teacher will be going to those questions. We'll be wrong by the end of two thousand nineteen you know, which one which one you will way more than me. Well, I end of twenty one hundred eighty one pounds you're going to get under a hundred ninety seven now and you're gonna under one eighty one. Now, you're going to pick up some weight not season. I go the other way you got to pick up some way. Yeah. Hey, Jay, AJ, hang on. Okay. To go, man. Good job. That's the first Mason, I t shirt and the second one is going to harass Rosner from VIP tickets. I was lovely wife, Victoria. Maybe we'll learn in a yoga Kwena minute. I take it back Victoria gets one. And then Harris could still. The next one. Exactly. All right. So a by the way, Sodano we're being told is in Minnesota or something so busy to join us for purgatory. We are doing purgatory by ourselves, and it's next. But once again, we're gonna update this Ed nauseam today. The ram game has been moved from Mexico City to the Coliseum the ram game Monday night. Five twenty kick at the Coliseum, and we'll give you more details on that coming up Mason, Ireland ESPN LA. All right. So Kevin demo joined us just a while ago. The Rams chiefs game has been moved to the Coliseum. He provided us some details. We'll be a couple of ways to go first and foremost fall season ticket holders while their season seats made available to them at the pricing for the Minnesota game starting today and tomorrow. So if you have seats in the Coliseum they are yours for Monday. If you want them, Dan, season-ticket members will have the option to buy additional tickets. Season-ticket member benefit I believe up to four tickets, but don't quote me on that our ticketing people may, you know, yell at me if I'm wrong. So you'll have the opportunity to buy extra tickets for friends and family, then we'll start a general public on sale tomorrow for season ticket holders who bought tickets to the game in Mexico. The Rams will fully refund those tickets, and then issue your new, so here's another little wrinkle in this and tickets for this game. We'll be mobile only so fan that's becoming more and more common. When I went to the Vikings saints game in Minnesota the Sunday night game three weeks ago that was a mobile only game. And it's not as complicated. You can the the way to do. It is to download you can get game day tickets right from the Los Angeles Rams or TicketMaster mobile app and enter the stadium. You just put the barcode on your phone, and you show them your phone. And that's what it is. Or you put it in your apple wallet? It's. It's super easy to use. But because of quick turnaround there will be no hard paper tickets. And if like, let's say you're taking a little kids to the game. And they don't have a phone you can put their tickets in your own, right? So it's it's the it it it really goes easy. When when you think about it, and, but there's going to be, you know, the eyes of the world now are going to be on the Coliseum Monday night. The eyes of the NFL the eyes of the world. It's two nine one teams. It's doesn't happen. Very often to the two biggest scoring offenses in the league to promising quarter to MVP Kennett all that kind of stuff. And we wanna make sure that we packed the house for this thing. And it's an unbelievable opportunity. If you're not Aram season ticket holder to go to the game of the year. And if you've never been to an NFL game, this is going to be an NFL game on steroids. I mean, it's just going to be mega stars all over the field. And and again, I cannot wait Monday night. Yeah. You get to go. Now. I know Monday night five. Twenty kick. And you feel good about us to get a load of this. We have Laker games Saturday night Sunday night. And now we have the ram game Monday night. And then a Laker game Wednesday night. That's LeBron's return to Cleveland. Oh, that's right. So a big week for us at seven ten big week for you guys as as fans and listeners, and and also Kevin mentioned that they're going to make thousands of tickets available to first responders, which I think is really cool. Yeah. They for people don't know the Rams practice in Thousand Oaks. So the fires have been raging all around you. See the smoke from their practice us, seventy five members of the Rams organization have been displaced because of the fire and ESPN is showing they had their cameras down there because they were going to televise this game from Mexico City. There's just no way they could've played on this field. This field was awful. And the players were were starting to bite back at it. And it just this makes total sense. And it now gives the Rams a home game and keep in mind. The Rams Mace are battling with the saints for best regular season record and the saints and Rams each of one loss, but the saints the tiebreaker when the head to head game and early in the season, we looked at the saints schedule and said, well, this is probably a loss or close to it this weekend because the world champion eagles are going into the Superdome. But now the eagles are going backwards in the saints are going forward is going to be big faith. We get the eagles here too. Yeah. And so he goes maybe cooked. Yeah. It seems like the saints and Rams are going to battle down to the end. So any small advantage? The Rams can get now. The other thing that Kevin demos told us that was interesting because the Rams were gonna play at high altitude in Mexico City. Yup. They flew the whole team to Colorado Springs last night. So they could practice in high altitude all week they're going to leave the Rams there. Yeah, they're not coming back until Saturday night because they had already arranged it. Kevin mentioned that over fifty different team, employee's players staff coaches had been evacuated because of the fires had been dislodged and hadn't had to make different arrangements. Anyway. So rather than bring them back into an uncertain situation. They are going to do the reverse they chartered another plane. Yep. That's going to fly. The families of the staff members the players coaches, whoever you want anybody that wants to go to Colorado Springs, so their wives kids girlfriends, whoever whoever needs a place to stay the Rams will fly them to Colorado Springs, put them up in Colorado. And then everybody comes back Saturday night. They'll play the game again at the Coliseum Monday night. Now, you're a season ticket holder. Are you going to buy more tickets than you own? We're debating that on text right now, you get how many do you want to normally to normally could buy for more. No, you can buy two more you can buy as many as you own right? No. You can buy up to four more. And if you only owned to these dictators can buy up to four more. Okay. So, you know, and that's a decision for your. I would think you would have no trouble getting rid of them. Although there are a lot of tickets on the market. There are a lot of on sale the general public just well and because the game just got announced less than two hours ago. So there was no game two hours ago. Are we should we should give are we giving away any tickets? We we gotta wait because we don't know how many will be left after they give them to the firefighters. And how many of you season ticket holders snap up their offer? I can't imagine. There are many season ticket holders who will say. Yeah. I don't know accepted some Monday except that many season ticket holders may have made plants because they weren't expecting a game. But what plans would override deal mcdonagh in one team? They'll McDonald and tie now who I know can't us their tickets. They're on the road, traveling with the Lakers right different sonata thing that will elaborate one day night guys like Monday night, if your ram season ticket holder, and you you wanted to make plans maybe you went somewhere else this weekend to go watch the Alcatel you this. We're cancelling our Monday night football viewing party. We don't need that anymore. There. You view it for real. So again, if you're just tuning in Rams chiefs is now Monday night at by what a big weekend around here. USC UCLA at the Rose Bowl right Saturday. Rams chiefs Monday. Actually, a list of things member when that used to be a thing we would have been doing whole shows about it SC and UCLA. Yeah. We remember. We would do we bring on their quarterback from the I mean. Reform is in Keyshawn bets and you're gonna paint your face and I'm going to wear a helmet. And now it's like God. I don't want it you're talking. Oh, jeez. Son. You've the victory bell who can really klaly victim. If you win if you win you shouldn't be outs ringing a bell saying why did we only win two games this year? You know, I mean it come on. But I picked it. I put a ton of money and UCLA USC is broken team that can't get fixed. I think they're done cooked like a goose you're thanksgiving picture six loss team. The core seven list are they six or seven maybe eight I think maybe eight. There's eight loss team. But we're not that broke. Fifteen fifteenpoints. What's weird is UCLA blasted Cal, by the way and wasn't Helton. Like pretty much untouchable at home until recently. Yeah, he's he's lost his first two games at the Coliseum. He's on the road to Nate. Yeah. He's in LA where two and eight June eight okay, you're giving us credit for two extra non laws in eight. We're not lose. We're not losing. Record of two and three is going to be. Help on the. We're we're five and four five and five five and five. Celebrates over eight five five gimme. Eight. I mean, let's say we have a few guess all young team, the B Washington state was congratulations. That one coming up next. The latest warriors who have a game tonight in Oakland, lots of fighting in. They're benching dream on green because of the way treated Kevin Durant last night. We'll have the latest on that coming up. Also, don't forget fifth row Fridays this week fifth row seats to go to the Spurs and Lakers imagine being their fifth road. See LeBron versus San Antonio. Rest of the week five question quiz on Friday at two thirty for a chance to win our fifth row Fridays package fifth row frontage brought to you by super super cots expert, stylists know, how to get your cut just right and game ready. Mason in Ireland ESPN LA all right against the Rams game moved its move. Moved from Mexico City to the Coliseum. Monday night. Five twenty the ram game will be in L A. Wow. Check ESPN for more details. ESPN dot com. ESPN LA dot com. George sodano. We'll have more details on his show coming up, but we want to keep hitting it. Every segment was announced about two hours ago. The Rams game moved from Mexico City to LA. There was a problem with the turf with the field at the stadium in Mexico City. It was deemed unplayable unsafe. So we're back at the Coliseum Monday night five twenty. All right. Another story. That's not getting the coverage. It would normally get because of them ramp story is last night at Staples Center, the clippers and warriors played a close game at the end of regulation. The warriors had the ball with about ten seconds left. Draymond green grabbed a rebound. Kevin Durant was clapping for the bulk. Steph curry was out with an injury. Kevin Durant was clapping for the ball. He wanted to get the ball and take potentially the game winning shot. The game was tied at one zero six drew. Green ignored Durant. Put his head down dribbled the length of the floor into traffic lost the ball and the game ended and went to overtime where the warriors lost in OT to the clippers. Grow. Green went back to the bench and Durant got got into them about not giving him the ball. I'm going to read directly from a story from Chris Haines Chris's, an excellent NBA reporter who for years worked for ESPN and has just recently gone to work for Yahoo. But he was the first person to report this. There's a word I'm going to read that is objectionable. So if you have kids in the car, you may want to turn away I'm going to read this verbatim. Dream on green repeatedly called Durant quote a bitch unquote after he was called out by the two time NBA finals MVP in the huddle for not passing him the ball. The organization is of the belief that green cut too deep in his disagreement with Durant. It's also been rumored, although not reported in the Hanes piece that green brought up Durant pending free agency as if to say manual. Gonna be here next year. Why do I care what you think? Kind of thing. The words are upset enough with dream on green that they have decided to bench him tonight for their game at home in Oakland against the Atlanta. Hawks. It'll be very interesting to see how Steve Kerr and the warriors spin this and say in and give the reasons why they're benching I'm also in the Hanes piece. Klay Thompson Michelson who is typically reserved spoke up in the locker room to the surprise of his teammates about the altercation and stressed the importance of sticking together. So I asked you earlier in the show, Steve is this was something or nothing. It's clearly something. Oh, it's it's absolutely something. I mean, you know, Kevin. I mean, there's. Is now reported they're actually taking it a step further. Draymond green has been suspended for tonight's game without pay. So they're mad enough atom where they're gonna dock them a paycheck. See this is gonna leave a Mark. Yeah. And this is this is not going to end right here. This is going to be a rift that we're going to see all season long in every move by both of these guys particularly towards each other, and is going to be examined considered trying to figure out exactly what's going on. But this is a rift and keep in mind to rant took a one in one deal specifically for this reason. So he could hold the warriors feet to the fire. They offered him two years and more money. He left five million on the table and said, no, I want the option to leave if I don't like it here. Yep. So maybe that has to do with why they're doing this because they're showing. Rant. Hey, look. We're not we're going to stick up for you. Here. We feel dream on was wrong. We're going to stick up for you. Right. And they're basically choosing sides. They're saying Draymond. We're not with you even though you've been here longer. Right. We're with K D And dream onto hothead, but he's always been there. Hot head. Yes. They they've always liked his fire. But you know, you, and I talk all the time. And I always say to you, you never know what's going to end a dynasty people. When check and Kobe went to the finals four times in five years, and they were both in the prime of their careers. Everybody thought well. Those guys the Lakers will go to the finals every year for ten years, which is what people are saying about the warriors now. Sure. And then all of a sudden one day the check in Kobe wanna play together anymore, and they break up. This is the type of thing that causes teams to break up. Will it? I don't know. I my guess is going to two days from now have a by yob press conference and say, oh, yeah, we're fine. But you're right. It leaves a Mark. That's a good way of putting. Yeah. I mean, this is this is not going to be something that goes away. And you know, we we said this earlier, but you know, in in music, we've seen this in a lot of different ways, we've seen, you know, bands break up we've seen. I mean at some point you get sick of each other. I mean, it's amazing. And there are times that you, and I get sick and beach other yet, but it's in this case, it's to type as with with en- Draymond just never backs off. And you need to be willing to back off. If it's going to work there needs to be some degree of compromise in this really is what breaks up great teams all the time. Kobe wanted to be the man shack wanted to be the man and neither one of them wanted to acquiesce to the other one. So they broke up not realizing that they were breaking up the Beatles. Right. And this is this is part two. This would be breaking up the Beatles. You know, the amazing thing about Chicago Bulls was the bulls kneecap their own teenager, Jerry Krause, and Jerry Reinsdorf had that famous quote players. Don't win championships organizations. We championships in Jordan said, okay? Let's see how many organizations you how many championships you'll win without me. And all of a sudden Jordan's at the wizard Scottie Pippen goes to Houston. And the bulls haven't been back to the final sense. Players win titles right period in when you can get these rosters lie in someday. We may look back and say God, can you believe Kevin Durant and Draymond green? Couldn't work out their problems able to people said about checking Kobe now to this day, you know, shaking Koby sat down last year for TNT. Right. I saw the and and it was like, Michael. And I looked at it and went oh my God. Why couldn't you have done this while you were together because I was Steve I tell people all the time I traveled with those shack and Kobe teams, right? The the perception of some people that check and Coby hated each other is completely false. How it's come. They did break up how they just they they would joke with each other and sit next to each other on planes and do interviews together and go to dinner and all that stuff? What they couldn't stand was. They couldn't stand taking a back seat professionally to eat. Kobe wanted to be the focus shack wanted to be the focus filled backed shack and it put Dr bus in a corner. And doctor said I'm going with the younger guy and fill in shack were both gone. And then when Shaq was gone he was free to bring Phil back. Right because there was no conflict and when he brought fill back fill in Kobe got back together on the same page and won two more titles and went through more finals. But this is the first time at least publicly that the warriors have taken a side, right? Have gotten have had been like suspending dream on without pay is a big deal. Sure if they were if they were to say to him. Hey, man, take the night off. All right. Just take the night off in cool off, you know, it's just it's not a suspension, we just want you to cool off and think about what you might have been smarter play. This is you know, what we're going to publicly take Durant side. And say look anybody who treats Kevin Durant. This way is going to feel the wrath of our organization, and now dream on is going to be ticked. Yup. And how he he's a hot head. And and that not that's what fuels him. And this is sort of, you know, this is exactly the wrong scenario, a hothead who feels like they took somebody else's side over his there had to be. We'll go back, and we'll analyze this moment years from now and say boy was this decision. Did they handle this, right? Because now it's an issue of management when you take one guy side over another guy side, there's going to obviously be a rift and the guy who side you took maybe the one that's leaving. And you're left with the unhappy guy. I'm actually surprised that they didn't call dream. And maybe they tried to do this and dream on didn't give him the middle finger, but I'm surprised they didn't they have a home game tonight. Right. I'm surprised. I'm guessing they had shoot around this morning. And even if they didn't think should've called dream on and and Katie into the facility at four o'clock or three o'clock today and said, hey, guys, look, this is the type of stuff that breaks teams up. Let's get it worked out before the game starts right air it outright here right now. Instead the suspend dream on without pay and keep them at home. Very weird. That is we're very weird. I'm sure Georgia Donahue. We'll have a lot to say about this. He's back in Minnesota. I think he's back there working NBA game. Yes, I'm sure he's technologies NBA guys. And again, we want to make sure we hit this a lot. Our our big story today about an hour and a half ago two hours ago. The Rams and the NFL announced the Rams are moving their game for Mexico City on Monday night back to the Coliseum. The Rams chiefs game considered to be the marquee game of the year Monday night, five twenty kick at the Coliseum. If you're a season ticket holder, you have the right to purchase your tickets and more if you'd like and tickets go on sale to the general public tomorrow. George wants to come on for a second pay, George. Hey, what's? Hey, what's up? What are you? What are you hearing about this dream on K D thing? It's really bad. Look, this is the type of guy you don't wanna try full with. I heard what you just said, John. This is going to be a thing like Draymond greens. Also, an impending free agent a year from now one year pass Kevin Durant. This is the exact thing that happens when when rock bands break-up, basically check in Kobe don't know if you've ever been talking about check and Kobe this was the main thing. Yeah. The I didn't hear you. But yeah, they were fine personally, professionally they couldn't make it work. And if this is the case if if it's so bad that they had to keep dream on out of the building. This is something George. It's not nothing. Oh, I agree wholeheartedly. It's kind of like an I'm sure maze. Get attest this right Mace. Like when they eventually break up purgatory, I think people are going to be released ad in a look back at that. Mace? I made you a trade offer an actual real trade offer not like Trudell. Oh, did you. Oh, is it public or is it private? I mean, it's public. I don't know. Can I make it private or public? You can I don't know. What is it? What you go on. So I offered you a miles Turner who's a keeper right and Goran drug posing good players for Chris Paul and Gordon Hayward. I think about that. That's a fair trade from both teams. Yeah. Yeah. Think about that and drag it's to replace Paul and Paul statistically, seven one of his worst seasons. Any K word is still not one hundred percent step monster. Yeah. I'm I'm betting on those two guys turning it around. I would actually keeper is a keeper. Yeah. And he and he's in Indiana. He's like second in line to all depot for all the stats. Right. What round is he I think it's like six or seven. I'd have to double check. All right. Yeah. I will look at it. But I'm leaning in in your favor, George, although I feel like always when I make a trade with you sharks. I'm getting well that is not a no that is not an unfair deal that why I posed it in front of John. So he did actually attest to know. It's it's actually I don't think there's a loser in that trade. And if both of your teams are not in the top three I would do it just to shake your team up. Right. Okay. All right. That so tell the little tyrant that you, and I are making a deal done. Yeah. Do that to mess with your Dell? Gets Dale George. Why are you in Minnesota? I've got the T wolves pelicans tomorrow. So I've got to do all this reconnaissance on. What the hell's happened here over the last week? So I got in here today to talk to some people we're doing some more stuff tomorrow morning. And and I gotta do some hit on countdown tomorrow. Basically talk about everything that's happened here over the last few months, basically. All right. The Sodano show live from Minnesota. Can I get a rush to my car? So I can listen to this is sure we'll rush to your computer. Just accept the trade. Okay. That's a fair trade that's going to trade Djordjevic at showman guys. All right back tomorrow, noon, ESPN LA.

It's the first not Sam wrestling of twenty nine thousand nine hundred. And I am so excited to be here with you. We've got a lot to talk about. We've got wrestle kingdom coming up. And while we're plugging stuff, I'll be doing a bonus show this week Friday afternoon after wrestle kingdom. I will be maybe like three or four in the afternoon. Opon onto patriotic dot com slash not Sam rustling. Then if you're subscribed to the tier level to gets the live pre and post shows, I'll be doing an exclusive wrestle kingdom Poche. Oh, four all the not Sam shells at patriot dot com slash not Sam wrestling. But so much to talk about this week. We've got our interview with them J F, we've got all elite wrestling the Royal rumble coming up course, wrestle kingdom will break down. But I'd say the biggest thing going on right now is the fact that this morning after I got done with the radio show. I'm taping this on Wednesday for the Thursday release in this morning. I get done with my radio show on Sirius XM and. And I read the news that we have lost mean, Gino Caroline means contributions to wrestling in general can't really be overstated. You know, one of the things that I like to do working with WWE is every time I get a WWE microphone in my hand. I just looked at my hand, and it's corny as it sounds. I looked down at my hand. And I look at my hand holding the Mike with the WWE Mike flag on it. And I think of everything that microphone always represented even back when it had a WWF logo as a kid, and the reason that that microphone represented as much as it did is because of me, gene, Oakland, I think for a lot of us that are of the same generation mean Jean was DeVos that put all the pictures together in in WWE later in WCW. But really his work. And of course in Awa before that but his work in WWE WWF, really. Put him on the map, and how put wrestling on the men means gene had a very rare talent in the sense that yet a name like that he had a presence and avoi- sauce and an ability that made him a household name. But his goal was clearly always to get over whoever. He was interviewing he did what every good announcer should do. And that's to get the talent over that. They're talking to and he did it every single time. He did it from his backstage interview segments. He did it on the stage. There was a time. When WWE's main TV at least that I watched was superstars of wrestling and wrestling challenge on Saturday and Sunday afternoon. It was the syndicated shows. And this was before big names forget about main event level matches being on TV the big names. The biggest names wouldn't even rash. On TV. You wouldn't really see the champion of the world. Wrestling on an episode of WWF superstars, you'd see some of the other talent inaction against preliminary guys against extra talent as it were. But you knew it was a main event show, you knew it was a can't miss show when they announced that next week a star like hulk HOGAN or the ultimate warrior or macho man, Randy savage, or or the legion of doom even would be taking part in a special interview. And that meant that these stars were gonna come out on stage, and they were going to partake in an interview on that platform in front of the audience with mean, gene, Oakland in every time mean Jean delivered. I mean, we all have our favorite moments. It was mean Jean that welcomed. Rick flair and after he won the nineteen ninety two Royal rumble. He had a man put out a cigarette. So RIC flair. Could let the world know that with a tear in his eye. This was the greatest moment in his career. He felt like a fixture in the WWF until eventually left the WWF and went over to WCW where I feel like he became most famous for in that hotline advertising that hotline, but you know, in WCW he also was the guy doing interviews backstage. And the guy doing interviews in front of the audience mean wou. By God, gene. Rick flair it became a it. Just it just rolled off the tongue. It was something. You look forward. You looked forward to every single week. I don't know that anybody in that position will ever be looked at as more of a standard than me, Gino. Caroline. I mean mean Jean is the quintessential. Wrestling interviewer before any of us were doing this before you know, it was it was mean Jean Oakland, and it was him, and it was a microphone, and they said Jean you've got hulk HOGAN, you got macho man, Randy savage, and the stuff that they would throw it mean Jean stuff you'd have to deal with with alternate warrior. Macho man throwing out a bring out every every prop that he could possibly find. My very dear close personal longtime friend hog HOGAN, the things that they would yell at, gene. And you would watch him go through me, gene. Oakland interviews. He would win these things didn't make sense. He would do everything humanly possible to make sense of what was going on. Go to wrestlemanias six I wanted to know wrestlemainia seven and watch me jeans interview. Jake, the snake Roberts, brilliant brilliant. As a as a as a the stuff that he did with Bobby the brain Heenan going back and forth. Of course, what about all the vignettes? He did on Coliseum. Video stuffy did with the Bushwacker. The toys R us commercials. Everything everything I mean mean Jean was as much of an icon as anybody could be and at the end of the day in the role that he was in in backstage interview territory mean Jean Oakland was simply and will always be the greatest of all time. And I don't even think you can argue that. Any did wrestling stuff, you know, up until he was gone up until very very recently. He's been doing stuff with WWE. Whether it's home video stuff for other television stuff. I mean wrestling was his life. And and we were lucky to have gotten to share that life. So rest in peace to mean, Jean Oakland, really sad to see him go. But. I'm glad that that this week and it should be every week. But this week specifically were celebrating the life that was mean Jean Oakland because it should be a celebration. He really when you're the greatest of all time at what you do you deserve to be celebrated. Speaking of the greatest of all time has that for a segue. My guest this week is a young man who thinks he already is the greatest of all time, according to some people Maxwell Jacob Friedman MJ f he's only been wrestling for like three years. That's it. But in that three years has made a tremendous amount of impact if you have any sort of awareness of the independence, specifically the east coast Indies, but he has traveled throughout the country. And I think throughout the world at this point, you know, who MJ f is look him up. If you don't he had the opening match on all in which was a big big deal. I think for. For all in. It was really it was Joey Danila, and it who we've had on the podcast, and it was m j f who really got the opportunity to shine in a pretty major major way. And I've known MJ f for for quite some time. I knew him he went to school at creative. Pro that's taught by curt Hawkins and Pat buck, and he'd be it Russell pro all the time from the time he was a student. And so, you know, I'd watch him. And I don't remember a time thinking like, oh, this kid will get it someday. From the time. I saw him wrestling. I was like this is he's there. He's a wrestler. This. This is not a kid who is learning. This is a person who is a wrestler, and I think MJ f- believed that himself and took that forward, and has just pushed it and pushed it and pushed it to the point where he had the opening match on the pay per view all in this year. He was on the phone call. Steve Austin podcast. He's hell titles in in Ceesay W and M L W all over the place. And now he's in a position where I really think over the next year or two the world's going to be as waster. You know, I see him as a high prospect for an organization like ring of honor who needs to rebuild their their. Their group right now, they're federation as it were their promotion with the elite leaving, you know, m j f would be a great addition their impact to is is figuring out who they are right now, even new Japan. You know, I think having MJ F is an American he'll in new Japan could be tremendous. Let's not pretend that annex t isn't isn't constantly bringing in new people in in a place where that could benefit from having m j f there, and of course, it goes without saying after the guy had the performance of a lifetime in a very short lifetime as he's a very young man at all in that all elite wrestling is not a huge potential win. And the fact that it is about to exist is not a huge potential win for a guy. Like m j f I wanted to start two thousand nineteen with a guest on the podcast that is all about future potential. I want today's show. Oh to be all about looking forward into two thousand nineteen and beyond. And as we look into two thousand nineteen and beyond. You cannot talk about wrestling without talking about m j f so here is on the podcast on not Sam wrestling this week for the very first time, ladies and gentlemen, it's Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Aka m j f the not Sam wrestling interview for the first time, I'm not saying wrestling finally in the not Sam studio. I am blessed. I would say accurate, ladies and gentlemen, somebody who had one of the best two thousand eighteen that a person especially in wrestling could probably have. MJ f is here going on Maxwell. Jacob friedman. Yeah. Bit of an understatement there. But I'll take it. You think? So. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Let's let's go over your two thousand eighteen please. Please all in. That's probably number one church. Sure. Stone-cold podcasts. That's a huge. I don't wanna talk about that. You know, like Steve talk about St. well, you don't wanna put put over no other. Otherwise, I continue to join this list. I mean watching you in MLD w or CDW Scher beyond. I mean everywhere. I mean, literally, literally coast to coast across the border and across the pond, I'm not gonna lie to you. Sam please don't when I was told that I was going to have to do this interview. I wasn't too happy about who told you you can take half too. Well, you don't act like you weren't the one that talked to my publicist we're fully aware of what happened here. And she came to me, she said look. I need you to do this podcast. He's offering us a decent chunk of change for you to make appearance. Don't know a lot of recipes. Don't realize I'm paying for interviews. I wish you wouldn't blow me up like. Lori. Let's face facts here. It's not like it's an awful lot of money. I'm of pretty much doing you a huge solid right now. I appreciate it. But so she she confronted me. She said, I really need to do this podcast. And I said look I've heard this bozo before he walks up to people. He says what's the hap sister, not a real phrase completely Arctic contracts like life-size troll doll. But then she goes, you know, what maybe it's not a good idea because I heard a rumor, and I go I go okay now. Now, I'm intrigued she goes, well, I heard that this man was asked by curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder to lend some money for a toy drive. And I said, please tell me didn't give money to snot nosed brats right now disgust me. And she said no that the issue is that he didn't. That's true. And I said I said, I'll absolutely do this. God cast does who wants to give handouts like that. Right. We're children. Right. They don't deserve it and work for your money. Sam worked for and first of all that's true. Yeah. And second of all for the record. Curt Hawkins in Zack Ryder, they said on their podcast. Hey, we're doing charity thing. Sure. And then after it was over. They were like, hey, we ask Sam, and he didn't give us anything. Like, I got nothing to do with you guys. Look who. Okay. First of all again, not trying to put over. No, no. They don't look the the majors. Butter's? What is that? What it's called matron weather's. Yeah. Pod. Pudgy? It's it's a decent little product. But at the end of the day to to ask somebody to take money out of their pocket. Right. And give it to somebody. You don't even know because what they don't have toys for Christmas. Who cares? That's actually your care. Is it is it is it your problem? Not my problem is certainly not my. So that's why I was excited to come here. Because me, and you were one of the same. Yeah. I've seen that. That's good. But I probably have to start asking you to do a lot of talking for me, you made that I feel like he made that sound better than I could have really I think so I mean, look, I'm always here to defend. But once again that also comes with the fee, and if you'd like to talk to my publicist after by. I kind of blew the whole twenty nineteen not Sam budget on this. I figured yet figured. Yeah. Well, look, I'm Jay do you have a highlight? Are you the type that goes back and looks at a year and goes like, yeah. That was the highlight. Or that's what I reflect upon or do you just constantly move forward? It's hard to take a step back when you have a rocket pack to strapped is you know, what I mean? I know I do just being able to look back with all the intensity. I it's a struggle. It's a struggle for for sure. But when I do have the time, and I don't have much time. Sam as you know, I'm a very busy super-busy. But when I do have the time to look back, I think to myself. Okay. I'm Jay f you are quite possibly scratch that I'm don't be modest. I'm honestly, I am very modest. You are the youngest and fastest rising star professional wrestling today. I mean going into this year two thousand nineteen I it's very reminiscent of when I was just getting out of high school when I played football not that that was all that long ago. But I'm twenty two just just in case, you didn't know. Oh, yeah. Leo rush. The bottom line was was I had a lot of offers and a lot of scholarships thrown my way, and I could have went anywhere. I really wanted to go. I had broken pretty much every single tackling record. There was not just in my school. But in all of Long Island, and I find myself in that exact situation. Now, everybody's asking on on social media, and all these platforms, m j f he's been everywhere. What is he going to do next? There's all these different promotions that are offering him potentially offering contracts. You know, what I'm saying potentially? And there's so many different avenues, I can go and everybody wants to know what I'm gonna do. Yeah. And then the newsflashes it's none of your business. You will most certainly find out because that's just how it works. Right. Just going to see me pop up somewhere, you're gonna go. Okay. But sure, that's the way it worked for all in. I didn't know who you're going to be on all in. And then all of a sudden there, you are on pay per view. That's all I operate. You know, a lot of people. They don't understand the significance. Of mystique. And with mystique comes silence. If I go around, and I go I'm going to do this. And I'm going to do that. And you better believe this is happening next. No, that's not as exciting as when I pop up because I could literally pop up anywhere in any company on any part of the planet. So you're saying what you're known for is not talking. Well, now, hold on a second not talking and not giving away. My next move. I see I move. I move in silence. But once I get to that destination. Yeah. I'm going to be screaming about it at the top of the rooftops. Icy Joyner stand one hundred percent a lot of present a lot of people. They liked to go. This is happening. Nothing one and the other. I don't do that until it happens. And once it does happen. Yeah. I'm gonna talk about it because I'm amazing at what I do. Now. Let me ask you your young man as you just said twenty two years old. It's crazy to be in the position that you're in at your age, you you you trained at the did you train was it create a pro when you train their creative pro wrestling with Pat, buck and curt Hawkins, right? Right. And that would. You're the first big your your the biggest star. I would say I mean. Yeah. To come out of create a pro for short landslide. But rhino where we don't want to disrespect the rest of the people. Of course. Now, I will tell you this creative pa- wrestling if you live in the metropolitan area there is no other option to go as far as a wrestling schools. I would not be in the position. I'm in today without create a pro. And that's a fact granted did I have this God given talent to grab a microphone and meet people not just over the edge of their chair, but to fall off and break their ass. Yes. I already have that. But I needed to understand how to acquire the skill bell to bell. Which now everybody can obviously omit and agree that I'm one of the best most well rounded professional athletes in the sport today. And honestly, you have to give it up to curdle Pat bucket. The Korean pro wrestling academy. Absolutely. I will say till I'm blue in the face. Curt Hawkins is a lousy action figure collector, but a great pro wrestler and trainer. I don't collect children's toys. Brow? Take your. Good for you. Yeah. You keep your mind. You buy things like cars, expensive clothes things. Like that giant houses. I get if I wanna get risky, maybe a penny stock, but really not much right? That's your idea of a wild time. I mean that that's a fun night out. Right. Asking me about you. I see. So you're at how long are you at creative pro before you start realizing that the people that create a pro start realizing like, wow, this is moving really fast for this kid. I mean, probably right away. I mean, I really took to it like a fish takes to water, and how old is you may I started when I was nineteen again, we're talking three years ago. Sure. Sure. I've been wrestling now for three years, and that's like no time based on what you've accomplished, but at the same time, it's a no brainer. I mean, look at me. Listen to me talk. Watch me Russell, right. And that's exactly what happened when I stepped through the hollowed halls of cap. Became very apparent to both of my trainers that God put me on this planet for one particular reason, and it was to become a professional wrestler. So when you're when you're training like that and you start advancing quickly. How do the other students in class react to that? Like when when they stood they go is it an ins- is making insecure. Are they just like cool? We're glad to have somebody good in class. Like, what's the vibe? Like, look jealousy is going to happen organically. Yeah. Did I have a Lambeau or two keyed because I'd tell people I was clearly the best in my class. Maybe you told them that. Look do. I do. I look like a liar to you saying somebody who would ever lie or go by no, I'm very upfront, and very honest. And that's what I would do. So at first it was a bit of a bumpy ride. But once they realized there's really nothing you can do about it, you kind of just grin and bear it. So does that happen where they go? Because when you meet somebody who's I was gonna say with an ego. But I'll say respectfully who's confident in their ability, especially at a young age. I hate that word ego. I just never quite understood. It right. Good. You're good simple. Right. But when you meet somebody who's confident in their abilities at a very young age there is there are people, especially if your peers with that person waiting for them to fall on their face wanting. I don't wanna be around that person almost wanting to sabotage that the issue is I perfect balance. I'm incapable of falling down. That's the issue is that that eventually if the skill starts to be starts to back up all these statements being made, you're kind of screwed. No. Because there's always there. Sure. There's always gonna. People. And I think that's where ego kicks in is the people that show up and they start doing all the talking. But they don't have perfect balance. And they do fall on the face. And I'm sure you've seen that before. It's sad. It's sad. Because you don't relate to that. And I never could. Right. I mean, I was literally born and bred just to be better than everyone else. And that's not like that's not me like attacking you the viewer or the listener. It's just straight fact, I see I see. So you played football in high school. Yes. I did. Did you have did you think that you were going to do that professionally? What occurred was I would been offered all these pretty much full rides. I had went to a school which legally I cannot name. Why not well, unfortunately, what had occurred was I had went to the coach. And I said this isn't for me. And he he well we're thinking about starting you as a freshman. That's a very big deal. Don't you understand an internally? I knew what I had to do. And what I had to do is professional wrestling because I grew up watching and idolizing guys like Rick flair Roddy, piper Tully Blanchard. Hot stuff, Eddie Gilbert. The list goes. On and on which is by the way, an amazing list for somebody your age. Sure absolutely need much twenty two year olds. And not sitting there with hot stuff. Eddie, Gilbert tapes. Well, we'll get to the issue with people of my generation later on. Oh, good. Good. And what what occurred was the coach wasn't too happy. So he said, well, we can't allow that. And in walked a six foot seven most likely offensive line linemen. Let's just call him, Sal, because obviously I can't legally say his name, and he followed me around everywhere. And eventually what it come to was I had to wait at like the very late. We're talking in incredibly late. You finally went to sleep any followed me for two days straight wherever I went bathroom locker room. If I was going to go hang out with a girl. Follow me everywhere. So I just waited I got in my car, and I drove all the way home got out of my car. I looked at both of my parents. And I said, hey. I'm going to be a professional wrestler, obviously, both their responses as Jewish parents wasn't. Oh, great. Right tastic, right because 'cause you're not going to them because the pitch of the beauty of football is that you don't have to convince your parents. I'm going to be a pro football player you're going I'm going to play football. But in their mind, you're getting a free education education precisely so now I was trading getting a free education. According to my mother to get hit in the head with steel chair. Right. Barb wire what have you? But I think it became very apparent to them. Just like a king became very apparent anybody else who is in my life. When it started training that they had nothing to worry about because you're taking very very seriously from the jump. Absolutely. Thank you. Listen, and you had to write because to to. You know, there's that thing about like having nothing to lose is not always a great thing. Like when when you've gotten yourself to the point where you have a lot to lose in the sense that you've your entire pride to lose just made. Here's what happens if you fail at wrestling. You've made the stupidest decision in your life. If you don't fail at wrestling. You've got this amazing story of knowing that you were bred to succeed absolute. So you've got no choice but to succeed, otherwise, you're a fool. Well, let's not like act that I'm like, some blue collar schmuck that doesn't have money in the in the back doesn't case. This doesn't all go. Good go. Right. Okay. But you could say I'm gonna American hero. You can say I'm living with American dream and following it on American hero with the trust fund. Absolutely. You know what? I couldn't put it better myself San liking you. I'm like good. You're not an attractive, man. Okay. You by any means. But I like you. Yeah. We didn't need to for sure go there. But but so how far into training? Did you feel like I'm ready to start the second because really? There are people who spent three years training before they should have any real matches of know, which is very accurate. There are a lot of guys that I have come come around on the independent level. Even when I do TV where they said, we didn't even have our first match until we were two years three years in. I had my first match, and I was three months in. And it was amazing. Great match. Oh, dude. It was honestly if we want to get serious. I'll look in this Cameron say my first match is probably better than most people's like who two hundred who is the match with. I was in a tag team match was me. And at my at the time, I was tagging with a guy by the name of bear Bronson. Okay. And we were tagging against a to students who quit because that's what happens in wrestling. And it was a great match. And then like two months went by and they were just like wrestling card, and they quit with that. But that's evidence that it's not like you were in this match with somebody that was able to carry you through all very very, very new students. Wow. Which is that to me is really intelligent by Hawkins and pack because it okay? If you throw somebody in there with somebody who's this amazing talent like myself, and they're just. I'm not gonna say helping you succeed because at the end of the day. We're all trying to win. We're all trying to make money, of course. But still you might be taking it easier on them because you know, they're new to the sport. And you're obviously, you're looking to beat them, but you're not looking to murder them. But when you throw somebody in into the trenches into the big deep blue without you know, what the heck is that thing called. I've I is that what it's called water safety net. No, you put on this big jacket thing. Look, I'm not a scuba diver. Remember last professional broadcast, honestly Sam you, and I both I've never gone scuba diving there for what I don't get. You have hardly onto skiing and lose that's your. That's another thing. You liked that? You like winter sports is absolutely. Yeah. But back to the topic at hand. Yeah. When you throw somebody in that scenario, they only have two options, you know, you can swim swim elegantly or you could drown and die. And I swam like an Olympic gold medalist. Grano and some people just don't do that when they dive deep in right? You just happen to be able to have that skill hundred percent. So when do you start leaving training and going, okay, I'm just I'm a fulltime wrestler now. So it was it was interesting for me year one while I did. Well, a lot of stuff did happen in my first year of wrestling. It was a lot of me getting a in my car and driving to these shows, which is which is a joke because I didn't want to offend anybody. So I didn't take my travel air jet. I just got in these cars drove to these shows, and I showed face, and I would I would help around as much possibly could granted. I would hold a broom. And like pretend I was sweeping. But you're not gonna to the naked eye. Like, I'm doing something. Sam Bradford manual labor Jesus Christ. No. It's not where you come from. No, right. No, right. Does it look like I am saying no tastic pulled up in your beamer? I mean, it was amazing. What would happen is they'd give me an opportunity, and I would go in there, and I would kill it. And then they'd say, okay, we're gonna use this guy on a regular basis that happened in a ton of different promotions in the northeast, and then it floated over to the midwest. And now, it's pretty much voted over everywhere. Right. So it was it was just the reputation built. Very quickly. Yes. Wow. And at what point did your parents start to go? Okay. Because it's one thing for parents to say, he's good at this. He's taking it seriously. It's another thing for parents to go. He can make a living doing this just as a life that he could do have they gotten there yet. We'll now I am making a living off of it. Right. So now, they're now they don't have issue with it at all, right? They're completely on board. Which is pretty pretty crazy. I mean, I'd have to give shout out to my parents. They they raised an amazing kid, obviously radishes thinking, but also the the support that I have a lot of people. And again, this is something that jealousy might come behind a lot of people don't have that support system. A lot of people don't have two parents that are that look where they hesitant. Absolutely. I think anybody's parents would have been especially somebody who grew up the way I did. But they're now backing me Andrea and ten percent. They want to see me succeed. And they love the fact that I'm loving what I'm doing, and it's really cool to have that support system. Yeah. And I would imagine seeing you on pay per view was kind of. Well, my my parents were in the building they were. Yes. And phil. When when they see you doing that is clearly they haven't seen you because you haven't done anything on that scale. Sure. But when you're able tell me about that scale when you go out there, you know, you've had all this training as it were by training. I don't mean school. I mean, all the matches that you've had, but they've all had crowds of various sizes, but nothing remotely comparable to ten thousand. Right. Your tenth out. What would you say is your biggest crowd you perform in front of before ten thousand? Oh, man. I don't I mean, I had done a genetic spring break. And I had a why? I'm sure he thousand three okay? Maybe like the some wrestle pro shows that legitimately if you pack out that route way rec centers a lot of people's I done big shows. But to that magnitude, it was interesting sitting the locker room with guys who've been wrestling ten twelve fifteen years. Yeah. At all in and they were saying holy trip. People. And I'm sitting there like, okay? So you weren't at you didn't really think about it. I was I didn't I don't know if I was trying not to think about it. All I was concerned with was showing the world who J F is. And what I'm Jeff's all about now today at all in are they talking to you about where cameras are playing to this camera in that camera. Like is that something you're aware of I had one discussion. And it was with Cody Rhodes. And I had walked up to him. This was before the match. I said is there anything you would like for me specifically. And he said, I brought you here for a reason. And that was the conversation. He said just stick to the amount of time. That is allotted. If you go over the time, I don't care. I'll have the ring. You know what I mean? Right. Right. But that was those speech I was giving antibody right? And after matches over I walk up to Cody I go, did you see it? Stop me. Getting goes brought to you for a reason. So I was like, okay. And it's it's crazy that somebody like him and somebody like the bucks were eight we're willing to give me that opportunity. And and be had that trust in me, considering I've only been doing this for three years, which is telling, but it's also telling of their character, right and them as human beings that opportunity mental lot to me, but that opportunity was earned, and I think that a lot of people might struggle with that. But I was like killing I've I've literally wrestled nearly every single top tier independent promotion in the world US now UK, Canada, I've been all over the place, but like the most goosebumps ever had because the second my music, it my match wasn't announcing the second my music hit and the second they showed the Burberry Tron with m j f on it. They rain down booze. Right. Rein them down. They knew damn well who I was. So that's what I was watching. And we did a Poche is watching Pappa. Can we were watching it home? And we I pointed out to Pat or Pat will whatever we agreed that. What was great about that is that even three years in you're able to communicate to not just the audience some of whom new use some of you did not know who you are. But the audience at home, and I would assume the audience at home a lot in know your, but immediately, we know who's the good guy who's the bad guy. What's the story being told like, we know don't think I'm a bad guy Sam? But I don't think so either. But, but we understood why there was a an attraction to booing you. Absolutely. And that was my thing. I was like what is going to happen. When my music plays. Right. They're gonna know. And there was a rain abused before. I go through the curtain and once I went through the curtain for the people who might not have been aware. I got them to understand what our is out real quick right rear. Real quick. And that's something I've always took great pride in and back to the generational thing. I think there's this weird struggle now where I can I can if you walk up to me, and you say, I'm Jeff what are you all about? I'm going to say, you know, what I'm all about them all about being better than you. That's it. If I walk up to somebody in my age group, my demographic, Mike experience level, and I say, what are you all about? They're not going to have an answer. They don't know who they are yet, which you know, what cool. You know? It's wrestling is supposed to be a carnival act. You're supposed to have every single flavor of ice cream, and it's awesome. But if every single match if every single match is super kicks, which by the way, why are you doing that? Because the young bucks ready to another doing a better than you. Right. If every single matches a Canadian destroyer, why are you doing that PD Williams is mardi doing, you know, if every single match is cutters. You know? I've heard Randy Orton those pretty good cutter. I don't know if you've heard of the guy. He's right. It's it gets born. Right. And that's why it has almost like you're cheering for the move. Right. Like when when a young guy throws a super kick. It's almost like if you're chairing your cheering for the young bucks. Sure. When a young guy throws a cutter, you're cheering for the Randy Orton smooth. But shop is thrown what do you hear? Woo. You hear woo, right? You don't hear go guy who just through that job? Right. You hear? Woo, right. You need. And I don't understand why nobody understands this. I'm one of a kind. I'm Jim you. I'm not trying to be anybody. And I think everybody should try to patent or self after that everybody should be their self turned up to one hundred. I hate to quote, Stephen. I hate Stephen. But that is a quote he said, and it's completely accurate to me. And that is something I pride myself in. I'm not going out there to entertain you allow me to make that very clear while I don't care what you think. Wow. I I really don't care. All I care about is winning and making my money. I'm not going out there to be circus. Oh, les? I'm going out there to win a match. Right. And that's what I loved about guys. Like, I mentioned earlier piper flair Tully. I mean, I I can go on and on Chris Candido. There's so many people have influenced me. So when did you start watching wrestling Bowman the the first match in full I ever saw the well the first blip. I saw was it was like a smackdown show. I think in I saw like Cain kind of. And this is me trying to remember I was like six or seven, right? But then after that, I was so unanswered by my uncle had put it on the TV when we when we were over his house for dinner, Alan Weisman. How you doing? And I said I grabbed him, and I'm I'm a small, you know, young man at this point. I grabbed him I said what was that? Because I want more of it. And he said that's wrestling. And I said, and I ran up to my dad, and I said we got to go to Hollywood video like right now. My dad was like we're kind of eating here. Hold us went off. Okay. Maxwell. I was like whatever dad, and then I went off. I had my caviar, and my I'm not going to say what else I had. I don't want to offend everybody. With what I'm eating, but you did have caviar. And some steak, you know, what should I just list off everything that garlic, mashed science, really solid cream spinach. And or and this is just an average night. I mean, yeah. Okay. Come on. It's impressive. Yeah. That's how the Friedman's do it. Right. And the next day my dad, drove me in a Hollywood video I picked up this DVD. And there was the scary looking zombie man on the cover of it, which I would later turn out to be the undertaker. I had no idea who it was at least. It wasn't easy ws ambi-. Sure that very well could have been him very famous that guy. Yeah. Almost some might say almost as famous as the undertake, I think, so I've got all the TV's CW zombie on the cover there you go. Yeah. Man of many matches. So I pop in this little DVD, distaste. And I'm like, okay. I look at the back. There's a menu and it says homeless oh match I go that sounds interesting. So the first match ever watched in full was undertaken versus mankind in the hell in the cell. So right off the bat. I'm like. This is the most insane thing I've ever seen. Right. Both. These men are crazy, by the way for a guy that would end up wrestling in CW. Sure. Sure. Right. Absolutely. And honestly, I remember going into my mattress joy in LA and looking at that top because we had pretty much fallen off off the top of the building. I forget how you would even phrase this you have the bottom floor, and it was called the second floor. Whatever they got balcony balcony. Exactly. Yeah. And I looked down. I said I'm going to new Jack position. I said I'm going to throw George hill off this balcony because I hate him and his brains fried and I want him dead. Right. And he's been in here in the studio, by the way, he sent. And that your I'm sorry, you should probably clean this chair. Okay. But unfortunately, didn't work out that way, we both fell down at the same time. Which is you know, I came out on skates. Thank god. And I won the match. But you know, these there's obviously things in wrestling that you see at a young age that is going to make you like a Namur by it. And that that match it totally hooked me in. And then after that, I I knew I was going to be a fan for life. And the moment I knew I wanted to be a professional wrestler. I was at Madison Square Garden, it was the very first elimination chamber survivor series. Yeah. The elimination survivor. What year that was? I'd like to say two thousand. It was the is the first half of the first decade of the two thousand four and two thousand three or two. I just remember. Shawn Michaels with the little Dutch boy haircut. Yes, tights. Yes. Hard forget. Yes. And he wins the match with cowboy boots, right, dude? It's the pose. And I looked to my left and look to my right? And everybody's standing and everybody's clapping. And everybody's freaking out. And I remember tugging my dad, and I look at them. I'm gonna go I'm to do that. And he laughed. He was okay. I like all right. And I knew deep down after that. I was like I can do that. I wanna be able to make everyone in a room stare at me. And not wanna look at anything else in on like everybody else on the scene today. You'll see matches people beyond their phones that Brian happened during the day of match. Right. It just won't happen. Right. And that's something I take pride and that's interesting because about probably eight years before that survivor series. Probably. Yeah. Probably survivor series two thousand two's, maybe six years before that it's nineteen ninety six. I was there watching Shawn Michaels lose the W championship to psycho said. Yep. But I was sitting next to my dad dressed head to toe his gold dust, and my dad was just sitting there going like, I don't I don't know. What am I doing? What am I what am I doing rest assured, my incredibly affluent father had no idea what he was doing? So you are not alone. You're not alone. We got so much more with 'em J F to get to. You know, you're coming in and a weird time because I was a tape trader. And I know that that's right when tape trading started to kind of go away because digital was coming in DVD was coming in and it was replaced really quickly by YouTube. How does one at your age go from like late nineties early two thousands? I'm just getting on board with this figuring out who everybody is too. I know the kind of history that you just listed like where what are you at? What point do you start devouring content? Where do you get the content? What is it? I just remember. I was in this great abyss of YouTube which happens to everybody. Yeah. And I'm watching, you know, stuff at the time stuff at the time and then out of nowhere. I I see like this this photograph of a dude in a kilt, and he's sitting down on a couch and his feet are up on the stool, and I'm like who is that guy. And I clicked on it. And this is I'm sorry. I don't go ahead. This guy's chewing gum, and he's being incredibly ridiculously rude. And there's a British guy next to him. And he keeps. To talk talk to him. And he's shot up. You know? And there's another guy who seems like it might be as boss, and he's trying to talk to him. He's telling the other guy it's about it was all about him. And I wanted I literally I was like oh my God. This is getting me riled up. Right. Like, I'm gonna punch this guy on the face. Right. And I like that feeling it's awesome. Right. It's awesome. Right. And I was like I want to do that. I want it 'cause you recognized immediately. You went one step beyond your feeling of. I want to punch this guy in the face to own my God that guy just did something that makes me want to punch him in the face xactly right there. Then that's a job. That's that's the thing that that's not just a job. That's my high right people if they right. You know, if you want to do your thing man, do whatever whatever gets you go and do your thing. You know, it gets me going. I love when I hear stories. First of all I've had fans swing on. Which is hysterical because you're all very small and frail compared to me, but I've had fan swing on fashionable wrestling. But also, I love the idea that there's a guy come into the show and he's looking. And his friend. He's going this. Stuff's fake. I don't care about this. This is BS. Sitting down. He doesn't care about any matches on his phone entire night. And then I come out, and I got grabbed microphone. And this guy wants to kill me. Now, this is real to him now as it should be because I'm no joke. I'm not fake, I'm genuine. Nobody's more clearly than me. Very clearly. Yeah. And this guy wants to hit me so bad, and he goes home he gets in his car. He gets in his bed, and he's going I to go to that show again. And I want to see this guy get beat so bad. And then he goes again, and he tells his friend all these other guys are be 'Seeing that guy that guy's legit. And I want that guy. Deb. That that is what I love about professional wrestling. And I and I wish more people love member. I watched Memphis global force and Awa and like, that's what I watch off the network like the WB product right now is like. Anyone who sits on this chair, and looks you and is like WWE, okay to it's it's it's right now currently present day. That's the top product. Yeah. One hundred percent right hundred percent. So, but for me, I always always always prefer just watching the old school old school school Ryan school, which is interesting because like I get that for me and people of my generation because part of it is in his style jet. It's like this is what we grew up with. So I'm gonna turn on Tuesday night titans. Because I remember when I was a little kid Tuesday night titans was on. But for you who Tuesday night tines has been off the air over ten years before you're even born the fact that you go back, and you're like, no, this is my stuff to kind of amazing. Yeah. I mean, I'm kind of amazing guys. I guess what do you expect? I guess so so you do, you know? Why you were the guy that the guys at all in selected other than the fact that you're very very good. I mean, just just the idea that like most most of the people at all in you could go we'll either that's somebody that they is part of this thing. Right. Somebody that they work with somebody that creatively. They collaborate with they wrestle with whatever. Or it's one of the best non WWE wrestlers in the world. Clearly, they're going to be at all in. And you're the one who's like you get the one spot for a young guy. Right. I mean, there wasn't any other. There was it was me. And I guess you can count Marco if you count that. Sure shirt. But Marco, even like, we know I think, you know, what Marco was like you had is match with Giannetta at now this show, and it was like, whoa. Who's this? Who's this guy that looks like a little kid? That's Maine's who's this frail little boy. Right. Everybody wanted to know the fray, a little boy, exactly. Yes. Exactly. A little boys legs broken while. That's what happened. Was a friend Marco if you're listening to this don't get hot. It's the truth. You're very tiny. Okay. But while he's invited to respond in any. I would love him to him too. I I wrestled Marco before he got injured actually. Yeah. I absolutely beat him to did you mop the floor with them. Oh my God. Yeah. Oh god. He's he's an infant. I see this is he's a smart little boy. I see I guess that'll do it. If he came out through the curtain with a lollipop, you would be confused, and you would go whose child is this. That's true. That's marco. That's true. But to answer your question, right? I was at a show in Canada. The honestly the number one promotion in Canada, in my opinion is alpha one. Okay. And I was at that show and Cody Rhodes is on a show, and I suppose Cody must have watched my match and after that. He had just stayed in touch with me randomly or sporadically and one day through DM on Twitter of all things. Gopher. He was like, hey, are you busy on this date? Like looking at the calendar going like oh that day. I got a lot of things going on Coney. Don't know. I know I'm I'm of ale. Yeah. And. Yeah, that that's how it went down, Cody. And then Cody after the show on JR's podcasts, which also meant a lot to me because he has been a mentor to me on the podcast. He said if there was one person that impressed me, the most it was m j f and that meant the world to me. I mean, I'm sure I'm sure I impress pretty much everybody else. But I was impressed. I don't really care about everybody else's opinion. There's a handful of people's opinions I care about he's one right? And that meant a lot and it also meant a lot debt before the show even happened. He said I reminded him of a younger him on one of those the all elite videos. Cody, Cody went off he had his own thing was what was code USA doing with with David Ghana right that. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. And I was like all right here we go and ever since then it was honestly it was crazy before that with the bookings. But after that, it was totally gangbusters. So when you start doing CW? You pretty early in your career. Yes. Did you ever? I mean, first of all how familiar were you would death match wrestling. Because for me, I'm a teenager in late nineties early to early two thousands. I mean, I had the first three CDW VHS tapes from the website. I watched all the Japanese stuff. So I grew up when kind of death match wrestling got that boom. Sure. How familiar with it were you? I hated it. You did hated death match russula her I especially being a fan of the old school, right? It. It's disgusting to me. I still hate it. The undertaker and mankind match to me was different. There was a story truly being told this man had to overcome every single on imaginable. And he still kept getting up to his feet by some grace of God, he was a madman. Right. But I could comprehend everything that was going on, and I could sink my teeth into it. And. Even made a guy like me as despicable as I am kinda rooting for right mankind. Right for them a little bit not going to say more than undertaker because I do enjoy watching people get beat up, but especially bigger thicker, people like that. Oh my God. Yeah. But it becomes impossible to notch here for this. Right. But a lot a lot of stuff I've seen from death match wrestling and not all of it. There are some people have mastered that craft chair. But unfortunately, it put a sour taste in my mouth before. I got involved in wrestling because it would just be guys hitting each other over the head with light tubes for like, no, no earthly reason tombstones off the top of the ladder through like three tables on fire, and I'm just like. Right. And I mean, and you saw that a lot in the wake of ws X PW shows up, and then people start going like what if we just take the hardest of hardcore that he CW hadn't just do it every show. Exactly, you can't. And I still hate CW CDW the fact that I had to hold that title. I only came there because I wanted to help them they needed fixing. I see the place was in complete turmoil. Right. I I I remember walking up to triple ten day hide. And I said I said look Larry it God this company's gross everyone in here looks like they have hep, and we need to clean this place up a little bit. How about we put somebody on your roster that when you put on a poster people aren't going to gag? Oh, you know, that was the pitch that was that was that's all I needed to say and DJ's responsible yet that makes a lot of sense. And it was honestly after that. That's that is how I got associated with CDW. I was never truly a big fan of the product. I see I'm a fan of me when I was in the product you like that, obviously. Right. Yeah. Are there any what was what was the most brutal thing that you did over there? Was it the genetic match, and I they they corner me and offered me. Money that nobody would ever say no to to do Caja death. And I was about to do Caja death against Ricky Shayne page guy who I hate, but I will give credit to and say he might be one of the most underrated independent wrestlers on the scene going today. But you don't like him. No, no. He's fat. Right. But is okay, right wrestling. But he's fat. I see. But what occurred was I had wrestled a match with same mcallen at eight w and I brought my elbow. So I could not do that matchup. Thank god. You're not you don't sit there going like, I don't know rats. You know, what I mean, you know, you don't go cage of death. I hope I rotate back there because that's the one thing in my career that I didn't get to do. Yeah. And as as I was in a brace at home watching cage of death. It was manse Warner versus Ricky Shayne page. I was sipping on wine just smile in year to year because I was not involved, but I got to enjoy it. And I can assure you the matchup that manse Warner and Ricky Shayne page at at cage of death was unsure fans. Would appreciate that. When more than what they would have got for me because what you would have got from me was calculated intelligent decisions. If somebody was running at me with barbed wire. I would move out of the way, right? If somebody set up glass in a corner, I would kick it and break it if somebody's breaking it with your. What an idiot. To the top of the cage and tried to jump on me. What would what would I do Sam row at the way? Yes, you're you're much smarter than you look out of the way. So I just thought this strategy of just somebody sets up the glass, you just break. I never understood stand up kick the glass stop. It's just stop it out. Right now what idiot, right and makes way more sense. But I digress. Falling through it. No. At least you go in with strategy at least you're going strategy. So when. Do you have any twenty nine thousand nine goals? Do you sit there and go? Well, we look at the landscape, and I would say ring Avante her is in a space, where they're rebuilding in the sense that you know, the elite in the boat club or are not going to be there anymore. You're looking at impact wrestling, that's completely rebranding themselves. And I think still in that process of figuring out who and what they are in. I think a good way. Sure, obviously all elite wrestling bus onto the scene this week. And then there's always, oh, I don't know annex t in WWE sure doing what they do pretty well still heard of him. So here's my thing. I feel like the prettiest girl the ball. Right. You also have have a unique opportunity. Right. I it feels to me like now more so than ever it's up to me. Even though there's not like the big WWE or WCW bubble, blah. Smaller organizations are signing people to exclusive deals whether it's fully. The exclusive or just exclusive in the states, or whatever it is. There's a lot more exclusivity going on in promotions. And never before which isn't necessarily a good thing in the sense that you right now get to go and wrestle all over the place right here and get better every time and maybe being locked down to a single organization wouldn't be the best thing to do at twenty two. Right. You have no idea what I'm going to do. But as I said every day, I feel like the prettiest girl the ball as as I ascend into the early stages of two thousand nineteen all of these companies are very much so interested in certain people, I see, and I'm never going to as I said, I'm a man who works who walks around like a ninja silently until a deal is done and United States. I'll be screaming at the rooftop. But I'm not saying anything, right? So if I asked you sure, do you know, whether or not you're even on WWE's radar. You wouldn't tell me, I don't know. I have no idea. Right. I have no idea if I'm on impacts rate. I have no idea from unreal honors radar. Right. I have no idea. And that's the thing is you guys get to have the blast in the fun of all time of watching a prodigy in two thousand nineteen which he going what's he doing? Where's he going to do next? What is he going to do next? It's exciting time. It is an exciting time. It's very exciting. And I'm not the only guy that's in the in the position that I'm in. There are plenty. There are plenty of other. Look, I'm not going to say there's anybody that is talented Zion. But there are other guys on the independent level right now that are in a very similar position who is your favorite opponent to you have had the pleasure of sharing the squared circle. With or the displeasure. We'll have never really enjoyed wrestling any of these professional wrestlers because a lot of them aren't exactly would you wanna touch some of these guys Samling was let's face the fed on when that means. That's why I brought this one hundred percent, and I respect that. I mean, you also broadcasts because you're a very small, man. But who ya I mean that would be the other issues have I try to touch them. I get hurt. Absolutely. So. There are plenty of names that come to my mind people that made me look human in the squared circle. John what when I say human, meaning not like a God. Because ninety nine point nine percent of the time when somebody is in a ring with me, it's like trying new. Let me I'm trying to think of a good example here have you ever tried to lift five hundred and fifty eight pounds of sheer weight off the ground while singing the pledge of allegiance backwards. And jumping up and down have. I know I haven't done. Okay. That's because it's almost physically impossible sounds dreamily different very difficult. That's what it's like wrestling me. However, whoa. You're the five hundred fifty eight pound on that seeing to obstacle. Wow. However, there are people who have made me look human. And when I say that there are people who have made me, look, you know, you so you get right. I'm sure the less listener gets or maybe they don't Mike over their head because I'm assuming that most of the people are listening to this aren't exactly all that breath again. Now, your problem. Now, my problem, not my problem. No, I'm paying for their education. Now, my problem. No, you're not you've made it as clear as you can. I would have to name guys such as unfortunately, I'd have to name Joe L, even though that guy is so fried. Joe Genoa a guy by the name of VS k Alex Reynolds, Ricky Shayne page Ethan page Jimmy havoc Sammy Callahan. I mean, I it's it really is a struggle for me to try to pick out names in the very small category of people that almost looked equal to me. Right. But those are the names that pop up in the front of my head. And then there are also names of people that I watched I think talented Stokely Hathaway. I don't know if you're aware, of course, I've never wrestled him. I never would Russell them. We're BFF's. He became me. Absolutely. I'm sorry. Do you feel like I shouldn't have Stokely out the way as my friend. What are you know? I don't know Stokely that. Well, okay. Most people don't. But you know, who does probably this guy. Yeah. That's what I thought. He's a tremendous talent. There's so many people that have stepped in the ring with that. I had a lot of Matt cross as well. Yeah. Hundred percent. Of course, do you have anybody looking forward that you're like that's a match that I wanna have just whether it's to prove to yourself whether it's to prove to other people, whether you just think it would be a great competition to display to the world. Cody Rhodes, you'd like to have a Cody Rhodes, I would like to wrestle Cody Rhodes and I- I- Cody Rhodes, I might not be his best friend as my best friend. Let me to make that very clear because the opportunity that he he got hit in. But I would I I see that being a match up that would Kwait to a dusty flair. Quite a state in the coming years. And I think somebody would be able to take a step back looking at or or or tally dusty. I mean, there's a lot of different. But I personally feel that match. It would be absolutely incredible. No, I would do fair square. There'd be I wouldn't be up. Any, you know, there'd be no tricks on my sleeve. I wouldn't be thrown eye pokes. I wouldn't be low respect for that. It'd be clean match. Right. It'd be a clean match. She and it would be fair straight down the middle. Just to see who is the better, man. That's all that's all. And I think that'd be a very interesting match for people to watch. Now, you have an and I'll tell you how I got here. Of course, you know, who is the last person on this podcast that I said who would you want to compete with? And they said Cody Rhodes was David Arquette. Sure, David Arquette, David are kept bought me a Burberry scarf. He did did you know that? No, I didn't know tweeted about it. David arquette. He hit me up. He said, hey, I'm a huge fan. I responded everybody is what do you want? Right. And he said I'd like to buy you a Burberry scarf. All in. And I said, yeah. Man, whatever. Warren. I wore the David Arquette Burberry scarf out credit matchup. Yes, that's incredible. But he reminded me of Nick gage, who I believe you also you have a match up coming with Nick. And I have to ask you is this something that weighs on you. Does it because to me, you know, like you said, I'm not a physically imposing, man. I'm not somebody this isn't my forte. But of all the people that I would want to be in a wrestling ring with if feels like Nick gage would be bottom of the list. Nick gage is a ex-con a jailbird and scumbag, and I think anybody the way I was afraid because he was in jersey all pro I was afraid of Nick gage before he went to jail less. There's no reason to be afraid of somebody who has about as many teeth as they do brain cells when I walk in to the inspire pro wrestling event, we're this is occurring by the way. Ladies and gentlemen, in Texas. I can assure you I already have a game plan we discussed it. If he tries to hit me with a chair. I'm going to move out of. The way you void the chair. If he sets up a table and puts me on top of it. I'm gonna get off the table. If he sets up a pain glass, I'm gonna stop what type of offense though. Are we thinking there's there's the defense what type of offense? Are we thinking Sam? Yeah. A good offense is a great defense even staffer is. Yes, they say that in sports. You're welcome. Yeah. Yeah. So that's it when you break enough panes of glass with your foot he can't professionally wrestle. I mean, he he's just a done match guy. I your are you really going to look at me and tell me Nick gage, proficient as a professional wrestler as Maxwell Jacob Friedman. I'm not getting involved in all that. I'm sorry. I don't I mean again, I'm because I'm not a professional wrestler and trainer Sam Knicks not here. Just to clarify. This is broadcast everywhere. You know, I don't need to be involved in all that understand their this is this is between you and Nick gage. I'm I'm happy as long as the people are happy to put it lightly. I look forward to bringing the American do Justice system to Nick. Gauge wants more judicial system is that not what I said, you said judicial system. However, I want to pronounce something right way to did you that was rude. I watch yourself. I watch yourself. I apologize. But you on it. Yeah. You wanna bring down the long arm of the law on Nick gage? Absolutely. Okay. Well, good luck with that. I think you if anybody can do it. I don't see why not you hundred percent and J F. Is there anything that? You would like to alert the people to what I would like to alert the people is my two thousand eighteen was absolutely tremendous. It's hard to argue, you know, yet. And like I said we had this conversation in the beginning of this conversation about ego and confidence, and I would love to sit there because of how confidently say that go it wasn't that. Great. But it was sure, you know, no matter whether whether anybody likes you or not you had a great twenty eighteen nothing you can say about it. But however, if you think two thousand eighteen was interesting, I do just you wait. Just you wait for two thousand nineteen because I am going to blow the roof off of every single idea that people have behind experience levels in age. I am going to change the game. I appreciate what people prior to me of done in my age bracket. However, I am going to make people forget how long have been wrestling because they're going to go. This person is uncompetitive to anybody who has ever stepped foot in our sport. That is what my two thousand nineteen is going to be thank God lofty goals, by the way, when I work question when you get injured, right? And you miss cage death. You know, the whole thing your first major injury in wrestling was it. I I had a knee issue. I I must my NIA one time. Did it take you out of wrestling for a little bit? But it wasn't wild. It was nothing crazy. Do those injuries? When it's early in your career. I feel like those are the moments where realization starts to sit in those are the those are the moments where I think some people go like, you know, what I can't I can't do this. This isn't going to be the first one of these will buy what are the thoughts when you're young? You got no guarantees you just starting to build a little momentum. And you get taken out. We started happened to Joey genitalia was on eighty. He was also there for all in as he was. He was doing all kinds of stuff us getting ready for his next big show. Oh that had his name all over it. He was on not Sam wrestling. And then boom he's out for year. What does it do mentally like, how do you? How do you get yourself through an injury? When you're at the level that you're at for me what I would say personally and professionally when when it happens, it sucks. There's literally there's no other way to describe it. Because not not only do. I love money. I love wrestling. Right. But without wrestling. I don't get what Sam money. Exactly. Right. Both things. Go away. It's either both or neither. Yes, right. Luckily, as we said, I got money to blow right? There's plenty of money, but you like to earn more. Yeah. Who doesn't who doesn't like getting more money? Right. But to top all that off. It is frustrating frustrating sitting back and watching everything happened while you're gone. I was only gone for like four or five weeks, but still it gets annoying. But luckily, what I can say that me and a guy like Jamila to I'll give I'll give the devil his due. We both are capable. At getting people's attention outside of the realm of bell to bell. I am capable of taking to social media. I am capable of making a video of just this me. And you talking a podcast an interview. And and I'm able to make sure that nobody forgets who I am or my name. So I wasn't nervous. I was just pissed off. Right for another person. Who might not have the same capabilities, which nobody really does is I do with a microphone in front of my mouth. I would have been shitting bricks, right? Because the way, you know, some of these guys get over and get their fan base is by moves which again, I'm not knocking it we need different flavors ice cream. But I don't have to worry about stuff when I get injured because I always can put a microphone front of my mouth. It's just good to be you man, dude. You have no idea. I got. And I wish I did. Sometimes I have no one ever will though. Look at me make eye contact. Okay. You will never know what it's like to be me ever, bro. Arm thirty five. I haven't gotten there yet. Good. Okay. It's not going to happen. That were me. I'm making eye contact with you because I wanna make it very apparent. Okay. You will never right ever. Right. Being the same position. I'm in ever. You are going to die knowing that. Right. Do you understand that? And do you mean, I might go better or you're just saying always less than? Always less than me. Okay. Now, I'm gonna look at the viewer. Okay. Was well, can you can we can we own this camera? Thank you. Yeah. Here you go. Here we go go for it. You never. Yeah. Ever attain. These same exact lofty goals that I have right at the tender age of twenty two Jesus ever. I don't care if you're thirty forty fifty or about to break a hundred good luck because you are going to go into the grave knowing that my name is Maxwell Jacob Friedman. And I'm better than you. And you know, it sucks. Thank you for joining us MJ. Absolutely. It's been it's been uplifting to Santa leaf. That's what I did. All right. But I appreciate it. Thanks. Thanks for having me. Of course. We just shook hand, ladies and gentlemen, that's how Boeing doing. Well, we'll get she don't think of it. All right. All right here is Sam Roberts. What a great interview with MJ f you know, we're going to have guests like that. I don't know if it'll be m j f exactly, but we're going to have guests. We're going to have all kinds of stuff going on in Phoenix on January twenty fifth the Friday night before the Royal rumble CV live copper blues. Live in Phoenix, Arizona, make sure that you're there. Seven thirty PM Friday, January twenty fifth not Sam wrestling live. Get your tickets now, just a Google live, Phoenix and the place. Oh, come right up. You can see him there. January twenty fifth. Get those tickets now. M j f was great in J F is the perfect guest to have on today. Because today's all about looking forward, you know, last week on the show, we ranked the top ten moments of twenty eighteen and the reason I like to do that is because we start twenty nine thousand nine with a clean slate so much going on even in the first three days. Of twenty nine thousand nine it's unbelievable. What's happening in this world of wrestling within the WWE outside of the WWE within the United States outside of the United States. I mean think about everything that's going on right now you've got to shake up happening on Ron smackdown. You got the Royal rumble around the corner. Wrestle kingdom is this week. All elite wrestling is happening. It's actually happening. The announcement has been made wrestling journalists are arguing with each other on Twitter, Vince Russo and Bruce Prichard or fighting with each other over who's Aligarh. It's an amazing time to be a wrestling fan and watch the circus happening for all of us all of us. It's just entertainment as far as the I can see from wrestling on TV to wrestling live to wrestling on podcast. You can literally in two thousand nineteen just decide that wrestling is all you want to consume in your life. And it would you still wouldn't have time to consume everything. That's how much stuff there is out there. It's a good time to be a wrestling fan. Let's do it. Let's try to break down everything that happened. Just this week just in the first couple of days of twenty nine thousand nine hundred and take a look at what this year is starting to look like folks, let's get into the state of wrestling. It's now time for this week's state of wrestling. Yes. It is welcome to the state of wrestling, the first state of wrestling as a matter of fact of two thousand nineteen of course, we covered me Gino ghrelin at the top of the podcast is the life of mean Jean is by far the biggest story of the week this week. But that's why I wanted to start the podcast with it and stay save state of wrestling for some more topical items. Of course, in state of wrestling, we go over the top five stories of the week who to me unusually it's in order of most important, you know, the top five most important, meaning number one is the most important, but. I'm gonna start with wrestle kingdom thirteen at number five realistically. It's probably excuse me, realistically. It's probably the number two story. But starting with number five just for the flow of conversation. I suppose wrestle kingdom thirteen goes down on Friday, three AM eastern local time here in New York City is when it starts, of course, I believe it's on new Japan world. I know it's on fight dot TV. I know there. There are spots to see that. That's always a struggle here in the states to figure out where the best spot is to see wrestle kingdom. But there are plenty of spots. And I think fight dot TV is going to be on demand as well. What we're going to be doing on patriot is Friday afternoon. So it's gonna give everybody plenty of time to see it. We're not going to do immediately after the show, but some point on Friday afternoon, I'll be doing a live wrestle kingdom thirteen post show. We'll be able. To talk about all the matches. What went down what we thought of the show everything probably sometime, you know, three or four o'clock in the afternoon on Friday after everybody's gotten a chance to see it. And it'll be for believe superstars and above. I don't know, you whatever the tears are whatever. Whatever tier gets the the live pay per view Poche shows. That's the tier that's going to get this live pay per view post show. So the wrestle kingdom Poche show. Coming four patriotic users at patriotair dot com slash not Sam wrestling. Of course, the not Sam shells. You guys can log on Friday afternoon. I'll send an Email and everything when I know what time, but you'll be able to communicate. And of course, as you're watching the show, if you wanna send a comment to me either in the discord room or on patriotic page, I'll be able to incorporate those questions into the live Poche show. So go ahead and do that if you're a member if you're not a member sign up patriot dot com slash. Not Sam rustling become a not Sam shell today. You know, interestingly enough there is no there's no battle Royal this year. You know, the last several years of wrestle kingdom. The pre show has been all about the battle Royal and tons of surprise entrance and legendary entrance, you know, whether it's bad ass, Billy Gunn or juiston thunder ligers this year. The pre show is kicking off with the gauntlet match to to determine the number one contenders to the never open, wait six man tag team championship. And that of course, is the most violent players with to Gucci Versace, Yuji Nagata, Jeff Cobb, and Dave Finlay versus chaos versus Zouqi gun versus the elite which is represented by hangman page Takahashi and Marty skirl, you know. This show wrestle kingdom. I think it's going to be interesting for a lot of reasons. First of all it's being reported at the time of this recording that already right now today, it's officially sold more tickets than they sold last year for this show. There are more tickets sold to this year to rescue kingdom thirteen than there were paid attendees at wrestle kingdom twelve which as I've said, look, I said this going into twenty nineteen the only way to really figure out how you're doing in this life is to think about where you were three hundred sixty five days ago. And have you improved in any way, shape or form, are you better even a little bit? And if the answer is yes, you're crushing. So new Japan wrestling, thirteen more tickets sold even if it's one more ticket sold in wrestle kingdom, twelve congratulations. You're crushing. This show is going to be interesting for a lot of the same reasons. Why ring of honor final battle was interesting in the sense that. What is the future of the elite in new Japan? Now, it's a little bit different. Because in ring of honor. We knew that Cody and the bucks ring of honor contracts were expiring, we didn't know exactly what that meant. Now. We know that all elite wrestling is happening. It's happening soon. There's going to be a press conference on Tuesday. I believe to break it all down. Maybe we'll do a bonus show on patriot. After that press conference happens. But will they have a relationship with new Japan the way ring of honor does I would guess, no. I find it difficult to believe because ring of I'm wearing of honor has the relationship with new Japan. So I don't know why ring of honor would also want all elite wrestling to have relationships. I would imagine that ring of honor will be the ones that all lead is really competing with realistically more. So than WWE at least I saw and new Japan is kind of ring of honor's trick in their back pocket right now. So I would think that ring of honor's contract would not allow another partnership with another organization in the states. So will this be the end of the elite in in new Japan? Of course, mardi girl is sticking around ring of honor for at least a little while. But hey, man pages. And hey, man pages showing up with all league wrestling, he's already there. He's already apparently signed. If you look at the images, they're being posted. And we'll talk about all elite wrestling as state of wrestling continues. But you know, I when you're looking at it Takahashi Mari skirl they've got time to stick around in new Japan, theoretically, but hangman paged is not if this all elite wrestling is what it is. So you know, does the elite get squashed on this show? Finally, will they use their time to to make the bullet club and j white and the the the Tonga's look like a million bucks. I don't know. I would imagine the elite will not be the number one contenders to the never open, wait six man tag team championship. And I hope I I would like to see chaos get it, and they're represented by Goto Virata, and Chuck Taylor Chucky t so those are the guys that I think I would like to see. Them or Suzuki gun, I suppose, which is Zouqi Lance Archer and David Smith junior. But probably chaos would be my pick for that one big match. This is never openly championship. And this is one that people are thinking could steal the show a Bucci versus will Osprey. Of course. We'll Osprey was not involved in the WWE's cruiserweight classic. A Bucci was. But these are two guys that I think really need to make an impact in twenty nineteen. You know, there's certainly talked about they're certainly very much beloved in the world. Of wrestling. But are they at the top of the list, you know, with with more and more organizations popping up? I think that there is more competition and more reason to fight to have your name at the top of that list of the guys that people are talking about big money being put into all elite. Wrestling WWE is going to have to compete with that by offering bigger money than ever for annexed t signees ring of honor is gonna have to compete with that by offering bigger money in order to get that big money. You have to have value. You have to p you the the organizations have to know that you're going to bring audiences to see you. So that is the job that abortion will Osprey have at this show. And I'm what are they gonna be staying in new Japan for the next ten years? It's just the landscape of wrestling is changing in a way that you gotta make an impression and this is the opportunity for those guys to make an impression. And I think they will. I think we'll Osprey probably needs the win more than a she does. But I would my preference. Would probably be a Bucci winning. And again, I'm no, you know, new Japan expert. I don't watch every show. But I guess I know enough maybe I don't depending on your perspective. We got the three way tag team match for the I w GP junior heavyweight tag team championship, which is Suzuki gun versus Ripon G three K versus the Ingore Nobelists. They hop home. You know, I'm hoping it's Bouche Takagi. You know, I I love ally mainly for Naito, but you know, when that allied J logo pops up I pop when that logo pops Sam Roberts pops. So that's who I would want to win. This one Zack sabre junior is another guy who's got to make an impression this year. You know, Zack sabre junior is a guy who was in the cruiserweight classic. Who did not take the WWE up on you know, entering the two. Oh, five live landscape, which maybe is a good thing. You know, two. Oh, five live was not exactly the runaway success that I think some of the guys there thought it would be. But when you look at it. I mean, I think. Drew glac is doing great in terms of the character work that he's done clearly. You know, there are standouts into a five live. I think in general. Not so much. But like Mustafa Ali is now on the main roster a smackdown. And he's in the conversation of main event guys, you know, Mustafa Ali has a very smackdown early smackdown. Vibe from the initial draft when you guys like edge, and Ramos stereo and all those guys kind of Eddie Guerrero on the come up about to become the next class of WWE main eventers Mustafa ALI'S in that conversation in two thousand nineteen and two oh five live is what got him in the door. I mean, look, guys, etc. Alexander, and buddy Murphy that have gotten mainstream pay per view matches. You know, again, I'm not saying Zack sabre junior should have gone to to five live. I think as much. That the whatever not panache, but as much weight as a junior holes, I think he can do even better outside of WWE at the moment. But this would be the year to do it. It's exper- junior versus Tomohiro Ishii for the British heavyweight championship. You know? I mean, Susan Cain have a British heavyweight championship. Not the worst thing in the world that has exit between junior hold the title. It's a three way tag team match for the tag team championship every match is title match. I don't know how people don't criticize new Japan for having way too many titles. Of course, Thomas Tonga and Tonga Loa the guerrillas of destiny rubbing, the bullet club hard versus ally that sonata and evil versus the young bucks to me. I think that this match is all about the grill is a destiny in the young bucks. You know, there's been a lot of tension about the way especially at Tonga is. Identifying and defining the bullet club, you don't Cody stepped away from it. But at the same time you look at Thomas Tonga's tweets Tomasson is one of the dangerous Twitter's in the game. And he's kind of made inference that the stuff the elite was doing was not was an offshoot of the bullet club. And that he took ownership back the bullet club. You know, when you talk to AJ styles when he talked to even fin below her about the original bullet club Thomas Tonga is a name that comes up. You know, this is deducted the machine gun Carl Anderson about Luke gallows Thomas Tonga is. Is he the last member left of laughs founding member of the boat club Golo is there too? But one of the founding members of the bullet club, and he's gotta take ownership back of this thing. I would like to see Tommy Tonga pin one of the young bucks at this show to retain the I w g p tag team championship. And just a really cement that the bullet club is a strong force in new Japan. Of course, you're going to have to see that in the match between j widen Okada. Now, that's a bigger match because. Jay white kind of needs. The wind cement him as the next American star of new Japan. But at the same time, we're gonna job out the rainmaker at wrestle kingdom. You know? I kind of I have a tough time believing that Okada's not gonna win this match. But Jay white really needs it. So we'll see speaking of needing juice Robinson is going to need that. I w GP United States championship win from Cody Rhodes, and I think he's gonna get it. You know, I think Cody Rhodes is moving onto all elite wrestling, and this is going to be Jews Robinson's chance to shine. But as seriously is Cody Rhodes takes wrestling in the wrestling business and tradition in the way things are done. I would imagine Cody is going to make sure that this is a classic and Jews Robinson is going to be right there, making sure it is to you know, we all talk about Cody Rhodes and the way he left WWE, but let's make no mistakes about it. Robinson left annexed. E to find greener pastures, and he is really carved out a career for himself without the notoriety that WWE TV brings you being on the main roster brings you a certain level of notoriety. Choose Robinson left that company the security of that company without that notoriety and has really made a name for himself. And I think within the next two years or so Jews Robinson is going to be a name on the top of everybody's lips Kushida versus issue Maury for the item BGP junior heavyweight championship. Let me some Kushida the big too big matches. Chris Jericho defending that I w GP intercontinental championship against Naito Naito needs this one night. Oh needs this one. And who knows what Jericho's doing, you know, who knows Jericho is gonna stay with new Japan. Maybe Jericho will do stuff with all elite wrestling Jared tends to know how to be a part of what's cool. In wrestling. So he may be waiting for the dust to settle before. He really figures out exactly what he's going to do next. I think it would be a great relationship to have him be a part of all elite wrestling, it would add that extra level of star power. And at the same time maintain his not keep him, but maintain his relevance in the sense that he's maintained his relevance tremendously by going from WWE hitting up new Japan now to go to all elite wrestling, and then maybe do something else for WWE. Like, I you know, Jericho is just on another level right now. But I do think it's time for Naito to get that intercontinental championship match back. And of course, Tana Hashi who I think last year when we talked about him we kind of talked about him falling off a little bit. And I got a little bit of criticism for that. And maybe it was well-founded because he has completely cemented his position as one of the icons of new Japan. Pro wrestling for sure one of the great heroes that the company has and will ever. Have. And he's got that idea. BGP heavyweight championship match against Kenny omega. It remains to be seen where Kenny omega is going is all elite wrestling happening for Kenny omega. If it is I would imagine it's Tana ohashis time to be champion of new Japan and the idea BGP, but if not, you know, I think a lot of people think that this one may be going in favor of town Hashi, which could be a good reason to give it to Kenny O mega. We'll see what happens, and we'll break it all down over on patriot dot com slash nut. Sam wrestling Friday afternoon after the show is done. But I'm really looking forward to seeing it. It's always such a fun time to watch wrestle kingdom. I wake up in the morning on Friday before I go to the radio show. And and I'll be able to watch parts of it live. I I love it. I love it very very much. Speaking a big shows story number four is the first push toward Royal rumble promotion this week. Of course, you know. It's been pushed towards a little bit. You know over the last couple of weeks per this week was the first sort of full-fledged. Here's what's going on at the Royal rumble. We've got our universal championship match between Brock listener and Braun strowman. We've got our WWE championship match between Daniel Bryan and AJ styles. And what a tremendous fatal five way match to determine Daniel Bryan's opponent this week on smackdown. As far as the Royal rumble matches the men's Royal rumble. We've got our truth who's coming in at number thirty because the he and Carmella won the mix match challenge. We've got drew McIntyre who had a great cage match with dolph Ziegler that claim market gets better. And better every single time. I see it. It's amazing that it doesn't be head people and all three members of the new day also announced for the Royal rumble for the women's Royal rumble. Of course, Carmella who won the mixed Mitch challenge with our truth as previously stated we're going to have Natalia who announced on raw this week that she was going to enter because she wants her rematch with ROY. Ronda Rousey to go down at wrestlemainia Sasha banks and Bailey both entering ember moon and bring embrassing entering in an effort to make this her year and all three members of the riot squad live Morgan ruby riot and Sarah Logan, all entering the women's Royal rumble. Now, there was some mention made of the fact that they're not specifically advertising anymore that the winner the Royal rumble will get to main event wrestlemainia they're saying that the winner of the Royal rumble will get the we'll get a championship match at wrestlemainia, which I think is fair, but also not a shock. I mean, the winner of the Royal rumble can't get the main event of wrestlemainia because there's two Royal rumbles. So you know, we can't the winner of the men's Royal rumble. Plus there's four championships total in two matches. So I don't I don't think that that's shocking. And it's also not like it was ever guaranteed ever since there have been two titles. You know? I mean there what about now Burto del Rio winning the Royal rumble? So that he could wrestle edge. I at wrestlemainia, you know, I I don't do the Royal rumble has ever been about main eventing wrestlemainia it's been about having the championship match wrestlemainia. There was a time in WWE when it was all about the championship match. We knew that the WWE championship was going to be the main event, but. I think once the draft happened ten or more years ago that all went up in the air. You know, once there was more than one champion that all went up in the air. And now that the women are becoming with the women are becoming and we're looking at shows like survivor series where the women are legitimately main eventing. You know, I don't think there's any reason to sit there and say we'll clearly the winner of one of these two matches is going to main event the show. You know, it'll be interesting to see on smackdown. Of course, the conversation between Carmella Charlotte and Becky Lynch over who got the women's championship match at Royal rumble. I really wanna see Charlotte and Becky Lynch in the Royal rumble match. I think it will add a level of unpredictability of both. Those superstars are in it because Charlotte or Becky could win that thing because I don't think anybody's convinced even though everybody wants Becky Lynch versus Ronda Rousey. It'd be the main event of wrestlemainia. I don't think that wrestling fans are convinced the WWE is not going to either go for Charlotte versus Rhonda or some kind of a triple threat scenario because both storylines have been left open. So either way I think we'd be much better served at having a Carmella Oscar match at the Royal rumble. But then you look at it again, and you go we'll Carmelo is already the number thirty participant in the Royal rumble. So odds are she's not going to get the title match. There was a graphic that popped up. I think one of the weekend WWE shows the Becky Lynch versus Oscar would indeed be the match at Royal rumble. Now. There is this possibility the Ronda Rousey interferes and stops Becky from beating Oscar Charlotte goes on to win the Royal rumble. And then she challenges Oscar, you know, there is still this possibility that even if you've got Becky Lynch versus Oscar at the Royal rumble in a singles match. You could still have Becky versus Rhonda at wrestlemainia just have the winner of the Royal rumble challenge, the champion who isn't Ronda Rousey, you know. That's the beauty of not guaranteeing a main event slot. Just guaranteeing a championship match at wrestlemainia. So I'm excited for it. I love Royal rumbles probably my favorite event of the year. And I think this one will be no exception. It's just unpredictable, and we're able to have so much fun with it. I think on the men's side drew McIntyre is the one you gotta be looking at you know, we can move on to story number three because it kind of ties into all of this. And that is the two showdowns that we've seen over the past couple of weeks. We didn't get to talk about AJ styles in Vince McMahon last week because last week was all about the year of two thousand eighteen but on smackdown you've got AJ styles being confronted by Vince McMahon about being the real AJ styles. Vince hits him AJ knocks him in the face knocks him out. And that sort of tension was played up again on smackdown. This. Week. You had something similar on raw. But it was done. Well enough. The people. I don't think felt like it was repetitive. I certainly feel like it was repetitive. The segment between triple agent Seth Rollins. I thought was was great. Now. It's interesting that both Seth Rollins and AJ arguably the top good guys on either show right now, in my opinion. Good guys on either show right now are having a thorny figures on Ron smackdown. Tell them that they're not doing well enough. It almost makes me sit there and go I wonder if this is Vince McMahon's way of saying, hey, you're not doing well enough. Or if it's purely storyline who knows? But the fact that it's the same story lines basically is happening on both shows. I think that's a risky scenario. I think that these two have been executed differently enough that you know, most people it's probably kind of going under the radar. I just think that we need to keep moving them into separate directions. And who knows maybe end up with a Seth Rollins AJ styles match at some point to really determine. Who the dominant force in the WWE is. But I think that I think that AJ styles Seth Rollins and drew McIntyre our your three guys to look at in the Royal rumble. Now, the fact that AJ styles has his match with Daniel Bryan would lead you to believe that he's not going to be in the thirty man, Royal rumble match. So I'm kind of left with Seth Rollins and drew McIntyre in the thing. Those those would be my my picks, and my preference would be for Seth Rollins to win for Seth Rollins to capture. The universal championship from Brock Leser. And for drew McIntyre to come after him following wrestlemainia that would be my preference. But my preference doesn't always win out. But I just I think the vote those segments were great. And quite honestly, I think that and who knew leave is sense the shakeup, which really didn't seem all that dramatic when it happened. I think the shakeup was more of an acknowledgement. That the WWE saw what was going on and decided to move forward because Ron smackdown have been much better in the past couple of weeks the holiday, and they were taped. So it'll be interesting to see how they live but the holiday versions the Christmas and new year shows of Ron smackdown, especially the two New Year's shows fantastic better than a lot of shows this year and usually the holiday shows of the throwaway shows, but the Christmas shows, I don't think we're in the new year shows weren't even a little bit throwaway show at the new year shows, which is that you have to go back and watch because they were better than a lot of shows in two thousand eighteen you know, I do think, you know, when you talk about the like, the fresh start battle Royal thing. You had Apollo crews looking strong, your they're taking some time to tell Zack riders story about not having a match on raw and about you know, only ever buying figures on EBay, not having a real action figure collection. I think they brought that up. But I don't. Necessarily believe that those stories are gonna pan out. You know what? I mean. I I think that WWE sometimes have a tendency of being like, okay, let's refresh. Everything let's get these guys that maybe haven't had the greatest win loss record that. Maybe haven't done that much in the past year or two, and let's do something with them. The WWE has a tendency of of starting that. And then realizing like, oh, yeah, I guess this is why we didn't do anything with them. And they still kind of don't I mean think about all the many pushes that Zack Ryder has had in his career and anything Apollo crews is in the same boat. You know, that's not to say, you should be pessimistic about it. But I think realistically. The guys in the in the fresh start bad. Royal are probably not going to get a fresh start. I think fim valor might you know, I think guys that are on the cusp of being main event guys might have an opportunity here. I think Barron Corbin we'll get to a place where he's a big main event bad guy. I think imbalance going to have a pretty good year. But in terms of those other guys, I don't think no way Jose is going anywhere anytime soon. Let's talk about the number two story the week. That's Johnson is returned to smackdown. And the fact that the WWE decides to use that moment to push forward Becky Lynch, which I thought was such a great step forward such a great opportunity for Becky Lynch. And as I sat there, I was like, okay. You know, when John CENA first of all Zelina Vega comes out, and I loved it. They're giving Zelina Vega. Paul Heyman's lines. My name is Alina Vega. And this is Bob, blah, blah, blah, blah. I think that they're doing that on purpose. I think they want people to drop parallels to Paul Heyman and Selena Vega. There aren't that many managers agents advocates there aren't that many people in that role in WWE right now. So I feel like when somebody does pop up whether it's Drake maverick or or Zelina Vega or Paul Heyman. It's because. WWE has a lot of faith in those people. And I think WWE has a tremendous amount of faith in Selena Vega. And they should I mean, she just instantly has a way of going out there and owning arena, she gets on that microphone and she forces people to pay attention to her which you can't take for granted. I mean that is a that is a very valuable skill to have. So I was really happy to see her get the shine in that segment, and I was happy to see Johnson and Becky Lynn together when they've formed the tag team, I was like. Let's not make this hokey because you run the risk of Becky Lynn coming across like, John CENA's assistant. You know what I mean? Becky Lynch to get the rub from John CENA is a good thing. But to get what I call the tugboat rub in the sense that okay? We want you to cheer for Becky Lynch because she's friends with John seen like I don't know Becky needs that and that's why I thought it was so great at the end of the match when Johnson it goes for the handshake with his hair all over the place and Becky Lynn hit him with the you can't see me completely faked him out and walked out elbows. Pointing outwards proud as a peacock walking up that I'll as if to say now, John I don't need to shake your hand in case. You hadn't heard I'm already the man loved it. I thought that the fact that it ended. There was perfect. Let's get to the number one story of the week. This is really this is the one all elite wrestling is confirmed all elite wrestling is announced New Year's day three AM east. Eastern time twelve AM Pacific, Cody Rhodes in the young bucks announced that they put up the logo all elite wrestling is happening double or nothing is happening. We can assume the double or nothing is an event of some sort maybe their second big pay per view. Now, here's what we know about all elite wrestling based on their Twitter account. We've got Cody Rhodes, the young bucks hangman page. And and and and the family of those people based on the photo, we also saw Frankie kazarian Christopher Daniels Scorpio sky. Those guys were also on the flyer for the people that would be at this all league wrestling press conference event thing that's happening on Tuesday, which I'm excited to see what what what comes out of it. But they are. They're doubling down double or nothing and they're betting on themselves. Apparently, they've got a money backing them. They've got a guy named Tony Kahn who is a co owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars comes from a family that is reported to be valued at over six billion dollars. So they've got a one with think of any apparently he's a big wrestling fan too. Which is a good thing. So one would think they've got a pretty significant financial backer going on Cording to Dave Meltzer. They've got multiple parties interested in television, especially after all in went. Across so. Well, people liked it the production value was high. Don't forget they were able to get the all in pre show on WGN, even if all elite wrestling just manages to get a weekly time slot on WGN that would be a huge huge yet for them. I think the young bucks and Cody Rhodes I read are being listed as executive vice presidents one of the rumors. I read was that the young bucks we're going to be in more Booker positions. Whereas Cody Rhodes would be more of a producer position. I don't know what that means to all of us so much other than the fact that these guys are going to be the creative force behind this show behind all elite wrestling, and look, you know, I think that. I think it will be interesting to see exactly how this thing is laid out. Cody comes from a bloodline of promoters, the road's name goes with promoting wrestling dusty Rhodes, right? Cody also has been in the belly of the beast. He was raised in the WWE. He knows how it all works. He knows the secrets he knows the things that would never occur to you. Or I at a very very valuable asset. Now, again, I would've loved to see these guys pop up in the Royal rumble. But for the wrestling industry as a whole. This has the potential to mean a lot more. You know, it's really really crazy and Cody talked about it a little bit this week that you've got three guys that are three of the hottest free agents in the world. And they've all decided to trust in themselves and each other as opposed to doing what traditionally has been the obvious move, which is head over to WWE. I don't know if I would have made it made that move Cody. Luckily, his bended WWE before because the thing about WWE is your kid. You're wrestling fan. You have a dream to be arrest. Ller? It means you have a dream to be in the WWE, you know, and Cody and the bucks are changing all that. Now. You know, I I think that this is the best news for people. Like m j f who was on the show today. I think Dalton castle I think guys like that. This could be incredible news form, you know. One question was brought up which is did ring of honor make a mistake partnering with them to promote all in because what they did was to promote and produce. Because what they did was they created their own competition at the same time without all in. I don't think the Madison Square Garden show would have happened. But new Japan had a lot to do with that historically. We're going to have to wait and see I mean of ring of honor survives this thing. Then I don't think historically will look back on this as a mistake, but of ring of honor goes under then I think this will be the moment that people go. Yeah, they never should have done that with all in it proved to the world what Cody in the bucks can do when they're together. So we're gonna talk a lot more about all elite wrestling after the press conference. You know, I don't think immediately. It's going to be competition, quote, unquote to WWE you have to understand WWE is closer to Disney than it is to ring of honor WWE is a giant entertainment company. You know? So starting a wrestling promotion, you're not going to compete with WWE on a real like mono e mono level. But. All wrestling has a major opportunity to jump up to number two really really quickly and the more successful. They are the more investors. They can get in that company. The more people that can get putting money into that company in the more money. They put into the company the more likely they are to get to a place where they can compete with WWE look. For a long time. People's did not think of WCW is actual competition for WWE, and then the Turner organization decided to spend some money on it, and it became competition for the WWE. We'll see what happens here. The wrestling industry has a lot of talent in it. And the WWE has a lot of people that could benefit from knowing that there are other places to go. If they wanted to go. All elite wrestling has to be able to maintain that's going to be the key. Here is maintenance being able to main tame being able to stay alive. Not put on one more show not be open for a year all elite wrestling needs to have a plan to stay open and to grow over the next five years. And if they've got that going on. They're going to be a real real force. I can't wait to see what happens at this press conference. It's an amazing time in the world of pro wrestling two thousand nineteen is fabulous.
