"It looks like minecraft graphics, but worse which is. But as good yeah, go ahead. With five seven. What's interesting? Is they put file fantasy seven. You could I can't remember if it was released or if I just got it somehow, but I was playing on the playstation Vita. Somehow I can't even remember if. You did have it on the Vita I. Remember that. I remember if I had legally or not but she. I I can't remember, but anyways. On the Vita, it looked great for whatever reason. It didn't look nearly as bad as it does on PC. Whatever it didn't look stretched it in whatever the rebel resolutions were on that system. It looks fantastic compared to what you're talking you easy. No, that actually that actually makes sense when his shrink less. Yeah, exactly a resolution wasn't nearly nearly as pixelated. Yeah, but that's probably a legal way to get the game so. No I think I think there is a way to transfer from like playstation two to the beat. Oh, it was it was. You're right. You're right, yeah! I bought it on the playstation three and then I poured it over to the Vita, you can have the bill de Forgot. So it was legal as good, so that's another cool. That's other cool topic for remastered to is when they're. The consoles are linked to. You know the the portable version of that select Nintendo Nintendo DS. Sir Playstation Playstation Vita over the new system is called. I think that's appealing to people. DO THEY WANNA play some of their favourite games on a portable device and take it with them I. think that's that's. That's demand as well. which the Nintendo. Each shop has done a fair amount to with Like the original Super Mario Sixty four is now on the DS which you could get. And that was that was a remastered to yeah, it was. In the. Some Games are just plain ported onto. A new system like the n sixty four donkey Kong sixty four is now on the we you, for example you could play that on the the game pet, which is pretty cool. you. Know is the if we're talking about remastered, God's Nintendo is. The King of of that there. They know they know what they're what they're doing they are. Probably the least amount of work until their masters like a lot of their games are literally just released on a different platform and people eat them off and. Everything you just talk even remastered consoles. If you want to call that all classic gone, so is that a remastered or was that just a re release? Probably. They did the same thing like so? They put oak arena of time on the DS. The exact same thing is trigger and you can call those releases, but they still put. They. Still put extra stuff into the game like the added extra dungeons and different functionality. They had the three D. effects Arena Tom I. believe they had. They did some different things with it, so yes I think it was remastered. It depends on again. It depends on our defining it like the graphics weren't knew they didn't update the graphics, but they. It was released. Super Mario was put on the I. Think in. I would have I would agree..

Why is 'The Legend of Zelda' game music so magical?

"The Zelda music is incredibly magical. Well, this is what Jesse brought up with Zelda breath while he's like his music and go back and look at Zelda Accoring time. It's all music only music's around music's free to be upset to be there's no real music Zelda breath awhile. It's like 'cause there isn't and it's upsetting those huge integral important part of the game of the series for me for the original Zelda. And this is the thing. I think people forget about the original Zelda starts with the theme. People think Zelda over theme, they think it's art said up. Okay. What a lot of people. Forget about that zone. The theme is that it starts that they slightly different variation. When you let that title screen role where they tell the story of Zelda and show you all the items you can accumulate. It's a little bit more complex. It's got a few more levels to it. And that Newsweek to this day still gives me chills. Whenever I hear it. That's awesome. It is so cool. That's really what's great. And then you get onto your favorite game of or what you consider the best game of time. And that game is literally about the Korean is a musical engineer literally walk around with an instrument, and you have to learn how to play songs. Yeah. You you have to learn how to play songs in a game this fantastic. Which by the way, chronicles of teddy is an Indian that. Also, does that any more recent give chronicles check it out on steam? Playstation. But if you had to pick as song from offering of time, what would it be? Probably the forest. Forest forest. Do. That's all I think about when I think about Zelda, and I just think about I just think about all my siblings, remember playing it when I was younger and us all attaching everyone in my family like beat Zelda together. Yeah. My school beat Zelda, and we'd all like sing those songs together and such. Did you are you familiar with oak arena of rhyme? It is. Somebody made a mash abou- of oak green of time use it with a bunch of famous songs. It's like a Jay z rapping over one of the oak arena. Time is a good. Yeah. I mean, they're they're like this is fucking great. That force theme is one of them as prequel, by the way that main whistle theme. You're singing to before. Yeah. That theme and we talked about this a little bit. I think in pass up Assode that whistle is the same whistle from the Mario universe. Oh, yeah. Right. We've talked about your like Keith this. And I was like yes Zelda. I'm like, nah, it's from super. Mario was going. They just reused it. So through whistles, also, I think I've told you this book, there's a part in Zelda when he goes Elvis castles at child as link if you look in the windows of the castle, and you can see bows earlier, Princess, peach and Mario in paintings. That's so it's so God damn good. What they're doing intendo. You're so great

"Wow thing think you move. All right. Listen got us, perhaps the only example of an oak arena being played on a rock song. And that was Wild Thing from the trucks, I'm gonna try to do I may not be able to. But I think I can find an instrument that is so rare in rock songs that the person who actually ended up using the sound of this instrument on a rock song had to invent his own version of it. That's the didgeridoo and Australian wind instrument. I mean, this instrument goes back centuries to the tribes of stralia. It is a wind instrument. It was made out of the innards of eucalyptus tree originally and became famous for its drone qualities. I think every civilization sooner or later arrives at the drone as an essential part of their musical of Caballero and in Australia. It was the digital do that supplied that fascinating sound. If you go back to some of those original field recordings from from ustralia that have documented this instrument. One of the most inventive minds in modern music is Richard James otherwise known as the twin? He heard that sound. He is a man fascinated not only with weird and oddball sounds, but in creating his own instruments engineering student in England, and he was able to build basically his own keyboards and synthesizers and percussion instruments and created entire sound world out of them became one of the most celebrated DJ's in the UK rave scene in the early nineties, primarily not only for his heavy dance beats, but for also becoming one of the progenitor of the ambient dance music movement in the early nineties, and at the core of that legacy is his son. Did you do is actually a top one hundred single hard to believe? Now. It's you know, there weren't any eucalyptus trees handy for him to make this instrument, but he loved that sound and he was able to. Reproduce it by fashioning his own version of it out of drainpipes in the back of club in Cornwall England, where he used to DJ, and the reason he said that he wanted to create this sound and put some beats underneath it was that he needed something at for the end of the evening when the crowd was winding down the ecstasy was wearing off and to create a little chill out music for that audience to go home by so he used that digital do some that haunting drone as a model for this particular record digital do from Richard James, aka the twin on sound. "Under my thumb by the Rolling Stones featuring some great marimba playing by Brian Jones. I think that's a pretty common instrument there, Mr. cod. The marimba I'm gonna give not in rock roll. That's a lot weirder. Okay. In fact, I can think of no other rock song that uses the instrument. I'm about to highlight as you know, the trucks the great proto punk band from Andover. England, contemporaries of the Beatles and Herman's hermits and the British invasion but much nastier than all of them. You know, are there one of my favorite pants. I love this band. There'd be no garage rock without the trucks wonderfully ham-fisted, but but brilliant and everything they did. And their breakthrough hit with Wild Thing written by New York singer songwriter chip Taylor, but really immortalized by the trucks, and then later covered by Hendrix in the middle of it for no reason whatsoever. I mean here is that he really primitive nasty guitar sound, a thumping drums, and the imitable voice of reg Presley, right? Who can't sing it all and in the middle of it? They turned to this instrument, which is from South America. Now, there's some debate about where the oak arena really came from. It's a small oval ceramic ins. Strident that has between four and twelve holes, and depending which holes you cover up like a flute while you blow into it. It makes different notes. There have been instruments like that found in China centuries ago. But it is thought that Cortes of Cortez the killer fame brought it back from his encounters with the Aztecs in South America to Europe. And then a handful of classical composers in the nineteenth century began incorporating it, why the trucks turned to an oak arena to do the solo in Wild Thing. I will never know nobody'll know, but it made this instrument famous here, it is on the trucks. Classic single Wild Thing on sound opinions. Wow. Thing thing love you. Voice show. Come on. Hugh..

"The only spoiler that'll technically give you is it. Doesn't it's not a like a definitive ending. The firm movie thought like Oh shredders defeated and we're going to go away like it almost ends like an episode does whereas just like okay crank and come back. Shredder can come back about rock steady can come back. They do have baxter in it but he does not turn into a fly the whole movie so that was something to look forward to in a sequel so it there were still a lot of fun to that movie. I'll have to check it out. It's I it looked good but I was so so disappointed by the first one <hes> that's literally everybody I know and I was like like I went to go see it. That's when also ACTA cooler came back out and cinemark where I don't go to movies like they were selling it so I I was watching it drinking and technical like this this fucking awesome and a shame as as <hes> think he was rock steady off-duty killed it lake the those two together in the movie were hilarious and I would always like that if that's something to look forward to crane is a little bit different like it's it's hard to get used to a different voice being crier but you're like burned in my mind deal yeah yeah. What's the look him? Though the look is on point though not this it's I would compare to the difference of the Ninja Turtles then a now to where it's like yeah you can look at them. You can see these are supposed supposedly the turtles but at the same time it is different so it's diff-. It's not hard to us too but it's yeah just meant yeah. I get that I mean I was just such a I'm. I'm such a big fan of of Retro Retro Video Game So like I'm always still to this day you know playing turtles and time and stuff like that just all the time and for me I never had like a super nintendo growing up I had the original original Nintendo and then I had a Sega Genesis so now that they came out with <hes> you know that S._N._e._S. classic with a bunch of games on it I figured out how to upload <hes> emulators in Rom Stewart's and now it has like eight hundred games on it but I had never played like any of those Super Nintendo Games so I'm playing you know <hes> what we call it on playing turtles and time on playing <hes> sunset riders and all these other Games that people had spoken so highly of and I'm just like I never played any of this in my wife's like we need to play buster bus loose and I'm like I don't know what that is but sure who week of play that we into playing you know all these Rando Retro Games but I was so <hes> I was never played Super Nintendo at all far better than Genesis I will <hes> put my stubbornness to the side day that way better catalog but that's Nintendo for you. What do you expect I wanted to say like do you remember like obviously with the regular Nintendo there was the the lights Aber and then for Super Nintendo that came out with like the Bazooka type thing? I forget the that S._A._S.. Copa might have been called Yeah like sat on your shoulder at nat look really cool and at first I was like I want that because that's what I wanted yeah then Sega came out with their version and and it was like this gun that could it could be the Zapper bugle bazooka could be a machine gun showed. You like all these different things I was like Oh that's what I want. That's what I want for Christmas by parents had already bought Super Nintendo <hes> even though I changed my mind mind so that Christmas open it up and I was Kinda devastated oh but as time goes on and looking at some of those titles I went wow like that was the smart choice because so much smart choice he's like. I think I remember as a kid one title that I wanted to play because the cool thing about segregate some went to P._C.. It did I remember I was able to play like the sonic collection like Sonic knuckle collection on my p._c.. So I thought that was cool and I was like all all I wanNA play this one game that I really want echo the dolphin. It's really good. It's very strange for a child's game because it's kind of like really sophisticated in Kinda like not wild action. It's more of like these puzzle Kinda game. Can it's really hard bike super hard yeah like as a kid. I was like or plan on P._C.. I'm like Oh God thank God. I have a Super Nintendo. I don't go play donkey Kong country now. I'll be back God fantastic game but like for me like playing those <hes> some of those games that really hit for me. Were you know altered. Beast was fantastic. I'm a big fan of St to rage a specially the second one and he had like I was playing turtles hyper a persona highest which was basically out about spending that one. It's like a bootleg version zero turtles in time but it had like it's high points ahead some very very similar you know <hes> like the story acts they had very similar other parts but definitely turtles time is far superior but there were some good stuff on Sega. I mean <hes> game cold wild guns that was really good and <hes> I don't know not not enough of good no gun star Hero. That's what was called. That was really good but I have learned now in my thirties that Super Nintendo is the shit and I was missing out a loaded in my opinion Super Nintendo has it's the greatest game one of the greatest games of all time and that's legend Zelda link to the past <hes> fantastic I was and here's another thing I was never a Zelda Fan. Growing up I ahead an original Nintendo and Mike Cousin had one two and I remember that gold cartridge like how could you not remember that you know glistening gold you know chrome cartridge e like what is this and I remember being so hard and I just skipped past it and then <hes> they came out with another one and then I didn't have a super nintendo so I never played any of those and then when it was transitioning over to at sixty four I had had a playstation one so my friends were talking about oak arena time. I didn't play that so I didn't play oak arena of time until away later. I think I got like an Nintendo D._S.. X. L. when they had come out with a <hes> oak arena time and I played on that and I was like blown away and then I went obsessed over old Zelda Games for the only one that I like is linked to the past I I've tried playing the and sixty four games oak arena. It's really good and I think I've tried was rose mask like I had getting them years later. Offer sixty four tried to go back play the original. I tried playing legend link 'cause I was like all it's GonNa be sky <unk> side scrolling. This'll be really cool like my father we ironically that was a game that I wanted to buy off the the virtual council but I bought a US from game stop. That was one of two games that someone bought and left on there. I was like this is perfect. This is a game that I wanted to play anyway and I'm like Oh my God that like I have to stick with linked to the past. I love that game. I beaten it. I don't know how many times and I'll go back almost every year and just tinker with WHO love it. It's very very good. The new one is is pretty fantastic. I bought a we and I was like you know what I love. I Love Zelda now. Let's give it a try and it like took over shit it for me for a little bit because it was I was like locked in on it. The only games that I can remember recently a flocking me into that point was <hes> breath of the wild <hes> Zelda and the new gotTa War really pulled me for a little bit. I've been enjoying red dead redemption right now but I'm just Kinda like piecing my way through it. I didn't really love the new Spiderman heartache sorry but the new red dead is fantastic but did I just it hasn't it didn't like lock me where demand like I'm not over here like canceling interviews and Shit. I would definitely canceling interviews for gotTa War and 'cause I was just I never played gotta war game before. That was my first I I'm playing any of them so the new one and it was fantastic the thing that I'm looking to do because I've I've like halfway out of a gaming. I'm anti it or anything is just as baby. podcasting went on or other interests went on like I just not played as the only thing I'll I play occasionally madden and like this is the first year that I bought one since like Madden twelve okay so as it had been awhile. I needed up upgrade. I want to play but soon. It's going to be the next couple of months months. I'm by myself a P._S.. Two Oh yeah you gotta take it back. Yeah <hes> I had one when I was a kid and I was friendly guy around my trailer park and I lead friends borrowed while I the wrong person borrow it someone. I probably shouldn't have trusted as much as I did. They told me and I say this an air quotes. They told me that their car got broken into and it was stolen turns out. They want to keep it for themselves and they were about to move so he disappeared about so pissed so I I haven't had one sense and now like looking at some of the prices I get system for sixty bucks so awardable now here I can I can buy playstation one and two games so that opens up a huge twisted metal fan so I wanNA play replace some of those I never own but I really wanNA play the backyard wrestling games especially with 'em dog and j pro on the cover of the original and all that Mike that I just recently seen that game for like five bucks yeah or the might have been from five bucks but still cheap. I WanNa play these games now yeah. It's definitely a retro gaming an odd scene but it's definitely if you're looking to spark some Mestalla. It's fun man. It really is like you can buy stuff like there's so many games that I wish wish I had that obviously as a kid you just. Couldn't you know my mom wasn't going to go and buy me every game. I wanted you know so it was just one of those things where now it's like well that game. That was a super expensive. You know fifteen years ago now. Nobody gives this shit about it but I do you know so I wanna go back and play these old games and I don't know that's a people be like all you know getting older. You can't do anything fun like I do a lot of fun stuck. Don't get me like I work hard and married and we do a lot of adult shit but like I go to tunnel wrestling shows do the podcast play whatever video games I want and I'm in control of my situation you know and <hes> I don't know why say get that playstation to get backyard. Wrestling is Nick Mondo in it. I can't remember who's in what what I know. I see peas in both of them so I'm really excited for that. Nj Pro and am dog and I know I don't remember everybody else. WHO's in it okay <unk> now? You're from Ohio and said you did an N._F._l.. Based podcasts. Do you think that Baker Mayfield is the future feature God I hope so I was. "You said you were ghostbusters. Fan Big time yeah good yeah definitely a I mean when you think about I'm thirty four so you're near thirties right yeah. I'm third the the share will be turning thirty the three thirty-three go so same age bracket so pretty much we probably watch all the same shit growing up so it was like big in the Ninja Turtles Helio big into into ghostbusters when they even even had that animated series and <hes> I was just a huge fan I always had the you know the figures and stuff like that I didn't have wrestling figures growing up but I had a lot of the the Ninja Turtle figures and a lot of <hes> some of the ghostbuster figures remember having the the rolling the trap where you would hit the pedal and open yeah the yeah the trap the Proton Hack Adamo from having and stuff like that so I would just such a a huge fan of of of all of that never remember you know when the Ninja Turtles Live action movie came out and it it still good and especially in comparison to live action movies that they've come out with now what your dog shit but always defend the second one though I haven't seen the second one because I was so disappointed in the first one I I will go out of my way on your on your recommendation to check it out though myself and Brent Isan we have the same viewpoint on like the first one wasn't that good but come on in the sequel you get bebop you get rock steady and good luck running it great you get in. It's like it's really fun. The only spoiler that'll technically give you is it doesn't didn't it's not a like a definitive ending for the firm movie thought like Oh shredders defeated and we're GONNA go way like it. Almost ends like an episode does whereas just like okay crank and come back shredder can come back bebop rock steady can come back they do ed Baxter and hit but he does not turn into a fly the whole movie so that was something to look forward to in a sequel so it there were still a lot of fun to that movie. I'll have to check it out yeah it's I it looked good but I was so disappointed by the first one <hes> that's literally everybody I know and I was like like I went to go see it. That's when also ACTA cooler came back out and cinemark where I don't WanNa go to movies like they were selling it so I I was watching it drinking an article my this this fucking awesome and a shame as as <hes> think he was rock steady off-duty killed in lake those two together in the movie hilarious and I would always be believe that if that's something to look forward to Krang is a little bit different like it's it's hard to get used to a different voice bankrupt but you're it's like burned in my mind deal yeah yeah. I'm what's the look him. Though the look is on point though not this it's I would compare it to the difference of the Ninja Turtles then a now towards like yeah you can look at them. You can see these. You're supposed to be the Ninja Turtles but at the same time it is it is different so it's diff-. It's not hard to get used to but it's yeah just meant yeah. I get that I mean I was just such A. I'm such a big fan of of of Retro Video Games so like I'm always still to this day you know playing turtles and time and stuff like that just all the time I and for me I never had like a super nintendo growing up I had the original Nintendo and then I had a Sega Genesis so now that they came out with <hes> you know that S._N._e._S. classic with a bunch of games on it I figured out how to upload <hes> emulators in Rom Stewart's. It's a now it has like eight hundred games on it but I had never played like any of those Super Nintendo Games so I'm playing you know what you call it on playing turtles in time on playing <hes> sunset riders and all these other Games that people had spoken so highly of and I'm just like I never played any of this in my wife's like we need to play buster bus loose and I'm like I don't know what that is but sure who week of play that we we end up playing you know all these Rando Retro Games but I was so <hes> I was never played Super Nintendo at all far better than Genesis I will <hes> put my stubbornness to the side. They had a way better catalog but that's Nintendo for you. What do you expect I wanted to say like do you remember like obviously with the regular Nintendo? There was the the lights aber and then for superintendent came now with the Bazooka type thing I forget the S._A._T.. Scope it might have been called Yeah like sat on your shoulder at nat look really cool and at first I was like I want that because that's what I wanted. Then Sega came out with their version. It was like this gun that could like it could be the Zapper. COMMUNICA bazooka copy machine gun showed. You like all these different things I was like Oh that's what I want. That's what I want for Christmas by parents had already bought Super Nintendo <hes> even though I changed my my mind so that Christmas open it up and I was Kinda devastated. Oh what as time goes on and looking at some of those titles I went wow like that was the smart choice because so much smart choice voice I remember as a kid one title that I wanted to play because the cooling about second game some of them went to P._C.. It did I remember I was able to play like the sonic collection like Sonic and knuckles collection on my p._C.. So I thought that was cool and I was like all all I wanNA play this one game that I really want echo the dolphin. It's really good. It's very strange for a child's game because it's kind of like really sophisticated in Kinda like not wild action. It's more of these puzzle Kinda game. Can it's really hard like super hard yeah like as a kid. I was like or playing on P._C.. Oh God thank God I have a Super Nintendo. Go play donkey Kong country. Now I'll be back God fantastic Zi game but like for me playing those <hes> some of those Segi Games that really hit for me. Were you know altered. Beast was fantastic. I'm a big fan of St to rage especially the second one and he had like I was playing turtles hyper stone heist which was basically laid out by the suspension that one it's like a bootleg version tear turtles in time but it had like it's high points ahead some very very similar you know <hes> like the story acts they had very similar similar parts but definitely turtles and time is far superior but there was some good stuff on Sega Amin <hes> game cold wild guns that was really good and I don't know not not enough of a good no no gun star Hero. That's what was called. That was really good but I have learned now in my thirties that Super Nintendo is the shit and I was missing out a loaded in my opinion. Super Nintendo has has the greatest game one of the greatest games of all time and that's legend Zelda link to the past <hes> fantastic I was and here's another thing I was never Zelda fan growing up by had an original Nintendo and my cousin had one two and I remember that gold cartridge like how could you not remember that you know glistening gold you know chrome cartridge like what is this and I remember I'm being so hard and I just skipped past it and then <hes> they came out with another one and then I didn't have a super Nintendo so I never played any of those and then when it was transitioning over to at sixty four I had eh a playstation one so my friends were talking about oak arena of time. I didn't play that so I didn't play oak arena of time until away later. I think I got like Nintendo D._S.. X. L. when they had come out with a <hes> oak arena time and I played on that and I was like blown away and then I went obsessed over old Zelda Games for the only one that I like is linked to the past I I've tried playing in the end sixty four games oak arena. It's really good Anna Traffic. I've tried Maziarz mask like I had an getting them years later off. Your sixty four tried to go back play. The original. I tried playing legend linked. 'CAUSE I was like all it's GonNa be sky. I side scrolling. This'll be really cool like when I bought a we ironically that was a game that I wanted to buy off the the virtual council but I bought a US from game stop. That was one of two games that someone bought and left on there. It was like this is perfect. This is a game that I wanted to play anyway and I'm like Oh my God that like I have to stick with linked to the past. I love that game. I beaten it. I don't know how many times and I'll go back almost every year and just tinker with love it. It's very very good. The new one is is pretty fantastic. I bought a we and I was like you know what I love. I Love Zelda now. Let's give it a try and it like took over Shit for me for a little bit because it was just I was like locked in on it goalie games that I can remember recently of locking me into that point was <hes> breath of the Wild Zelda and the new you gotTa War really pulled me for a little bit. I've been enjoying red dead redemption right now but I'm just kind of like piecing my way through it. I didn't really love the new Spiderman heartache sorry but the new red dead is fantastic but I just it hasn't it didn't like lock me wherever like demand like I'm not over here like canceling interviews and Shit. I would definitely canceling interviews for gotTa War and 'cause I was just I never played gotta wargame before. That was yeah I I. I'm playing any of them so the new one and it was fantastic the thing that I'm looking to because I've I've like halfway Outta. The gaming I'm anti-eta or anything is just as like baby. podcasting went on or other interests went on like I just not played the only thing I'll I play occasionally as madden and like this is the first year that I bought one since like Madden twelve okay so it's been awhile I needed up upgrade. I want to play but soon. It's going to be the next couple of months months by myself a P._S.. Two Oh yeah you gotta take it back. Yeah <hes> I had one when I was a kid and I was friendly guy around my trailer park and I let friends borrowed while I believe the wrong person borrow at someone. I probably shouldn't have trusted as much as I did. They told me and I say this. An air quotes told me that their car got broken into and it was stolen turns out they wanted to keep it for themselves and they were about to move so he disappeared so pissed so I haven't had one sense and now like looking at some of the prices like I can get system for sixty bucks so they have to.

"I think my favorite. I don't think I know that my favorites held the game is still the wind waker. I I love the wind waker, but that's a variation on a theme. Right. Like, I feel like essentially every Zelda game that came after awkward enough time was just a remake of Austrian time with one or two new mechanics or different art style. Or he's so good. I can't believe this. I wish they'd bring it Shimon. I wish they'd bring me too. Because you know, what they did with the we you've version the made it so you couldn't invert your controls. Even that's the way the game was originally played. Yes, I'm salty. I see always volt invert because Oakland of time you can only play inverted. Guess I forgot about that. Which is weird 'cause I never played anything inverted. So. I wanna talk to you guys a little bit about what what you think about Australia's impact on subsequent Zelda games. Obviously majority mask is like this direct sequel uses a lot of the same assets different feel and a totally different theme, and and mechanic. So so the biggest thing in this didn't come out of oak arena time, but ochre Reno time wrote the three D template was the setup that the gains would continue until breath of the wild. Where you go into you figure out how to open a temple you go in you, find an item that item is used usually to escape that very room that you found it in and then the boss boss uses the mechanics of that item for you know, to teach you how to use it for the future. Right. So it had kind of like this very confined setup of he figure out how to do all these cool. Puzzles Hughes the tool and then beat the boss with it. And a lot of games. Follow other games followed that too and that became the template. And I was really glad to see a broken with. Breath of the wild at the same time. I miss the concept of having these boomerang puzzles and these hook shot puzzles like really like that about these. There's a there's a vocal contingent. Now the breath while has been out for a while that of people that are saying now saying what will what breath of the wilds actually bad hook shot because it's not like the old old versions of Zelda. What about you guys? Do you have any any thoughts on subsequent zelda's, and and Austrian his impact on I think Corinna was bad for the series? Like, I think it's my it's my favorite Zelda game. And like, I love it. I really wish to series had not taken away the bad parts of it. Which are like, let's just what para saying, I don't think they should've taken away. Like, let's do this exact sil- dungeon from here on out. And let's take the these not an open world, but like a series of interconnected places hub and hubs and make that Zelda like, I'm so happy that breath, the wild broke out of that. Yeah. Me too. But but breath wild still is doing the same thing dot Grena. Did it just which is like changing, you know, from two d to three D that jump was as big as Aquafina too breath wild for me because of the because of making open world work like that jump was so crazy huge. I'm so happy. It did that. But I'm sad that after Corinna was exception of the game. Boy games majorities mask. I think. I would sort in twilight Princess, we're just really the wrong direction. Yeah. I'm not huge proponent really love news as well. Skyward sword ahead issues because of the game play..

"We you release right Nintendo has a history of doing this exact thing, they show version of Zelda that is not anywhere near a final version or final design doc because they're just they know that people are hungry to see that. Right. And it's a good way to showcase what that system can do. So I thought that was really interesting when I went back and looked at the space world them. And I was like these hasn't been doing this for years. What's so funny? How bad this looks compared to what an oak arena fight combat sequence. Would look no fight or Corino time combat see sequence Lou would look like it's so simple and the character models kinda crummy. I excited I mentioned Miyamoto's GD talk, and there's one one quote in particular. Now, I found this whole article on Jan, and it's really interesting because he talks a lot about Zelda. But he talks a lot about just the early years of the sixty four in general. But he says we designed the entire game by organizing these small teams and conducting tests to confirm memory size and processing speed let us recall Jairo field. The outset field or the outside field from the legend of Zelda the characters that appear in the field all share the same ram. So the following scenario. We have the great bird Qabala, we have the skeleton enemies. And then once the bird has left the field the marathon man appears when link rides the horses and adult the only enemy to appears the ghost. So the scenario was written to match these types of design specifications. Right. So he's talking about like the way that the ram is parked out across the fields as your triggering different events. Right. Like, your he's continually writing if then segments that that say like if you're on the horse that only this enemy if you've already seen this. Then this thing appears like, it's really really smart design, and that's something that didn't exist. Before you can see the conservation. That's required in this game because it has a past and present or past and future, which one it is. But that means that like you have to use the same spaces over and over again and change them up. And and if you think about it now, they did conserve a lot by making the spaces empty when you come back as an adult like that is probably more space saving anything else. Like, it's pretty lucky that there's an apocalyptic event because you don't get to talk to any villagers in the future. Right. And your hometown is completely empty and IRO field has ghosts. Now, they have this. I mean, this this economy, basically, knowing what they have to work with and then building the game design around it and the graphics around it you can see when you play this game. Nowadays, we have these open world games. And you've got you know, complex geometry rendered even at a distance. I mean, look at something like red dead assassin's three then you go back to Corinne time. You realize what they had to do in order to get even death mountain to show in there. It's it's a flat. You know? It's a flat show you get. Get closer. They do a different version of you get u you you climb the hill. You get another version of it and they place curves and corners, and such as smart ways that that you never you can never break the world. It exists without them having to render everything it's just it's so awesome. About thinking about what a team like the guys and gals behind God of war. This generation learned from legends Zelda in terms of like you're writing that boat. And you're doing all these switch backs in the water to let that next area load. Exactly. The kind of thing that you're talking about like in a primitive state twenty years ago. Yeah. Right. I think it's really. So the way I love who transcribe the person who transcribed. This GD talk official person a Gaballah for the for the bird. Porgy Bora Bora. So one thing another thing that they talked about in this GDP address is that how much Ponant changed the game..

"Now is the GameBoy player desk. Oh, yeah. I have of dollars on a chalkboard. Millions. Russell Hopson just says, Mario golf. Yes. Sure. Do it again. Yeah. Great question places. Mario golf. I'm not much of a golfer mini golf though. Yeah. I mean, that's what. Well, okay. See Margaret golf is. Just fun. That's great. Yeah. Yeah. The last Mario golf the one for three D S. It's like such a great Mario golf game. Like perfect. I love it. I wish that they would do another one for the switch. They'll be one. But I want them to do somewhere in between like more RPG stuff than tennis ace's had both out all that stuff that they put in tennis campaign. Yes. That's why can't enjoy Gulf story because it had like an over world map, and some silly side quests and all of that you finished golf sorry. No. Yeah. No joy. I didn't love it to the end you play Greece. I liked it. I will play great tried grass. I will put lake good heath past Patou. Last question. Terry leads asks sorry about that. Charlie's asks do you think we will see a re release of Austrian of time for its twentieth anniversary whether that is an ten sixty four classic or switch remastered. Well, here's the deal. So offering of times anniversary is coming up in like two weeks. So I feel like if there was going to be inaugurating of time remastered. We would have heard something about it unless they want to say like bomb relations offering time is now on your intendo switch which would be great love the play that on my switch. What sucks about the lack of a dedicated virtual console is that there's currently no like vehicle for that to just happen. Whereas a couple of years ago, they could do that right on we on three D S on. We you can just be like, it's the birthday of Donkey Kong. Here's the here's the old Donkey Kong. Now, it's just basically any game. So that's the only place they have to put those coolest thing for subscribers to the online plan to just say, here's a Zillow zero dollar version of oak arena of time ever described. It's free. Okay. Let's hold it. So many times what does doesn't mean anything they've sold all of these things so many times yet here, we are can sell it so many times again back, you know, what that would raise expectation that you get more large the GameBoy lodge coming out. Time. Get nothing long story short. No. I I mean, I don't think we see that right now time re released for the twentieth anniversary. But the good news is next week's NBC. We're doing a special extra long episode fully dedicated to operate enough time. We're going to talk about our favorite time memories. We're going to talk about the development of the game sugar. Motta will be here. No that's about a that is not true. But you called him though. He said, he he's he's working on the Mario we're gonna that Moore movie trying to figure out how to make it very cheaply that was alive. And all that other stuff is true next week's NBC is going to be a very special commemorative edition offering of time. Twentieth. Anniversary retrospective episode still working on guests for but it should be good episodes. I will not be here. But you boys enjoy and here, I will not be here flying, you hate. Okay. You know, one of my favorite games of all time. I hate it. That really throws a hammer in the old spoke. Well, remember in that game? You guys talk about. This. Isn't it weird? When you go to redesigns that mean, you cut it in half bring Sam on. Yeah. Well, you can just live techs and mustaches Cynthia I could do that. Yeah. Sure. Yeah. Call you got some new record us like a little cell phone video. You're killing us your favorite whatever obviously over so. Guys. Thank you so much for joining me. "It's time for our favorite segment of this week. And every week what is making us happy this week stave and see Thompson, what is making you happy this week. We'll speaking of sunrise sunset, I just drove my son to a campus, visit university of Wisconsin in Madison thirty hours in the car during which we played each other a lot of music, and he pulled out his phone and was playing me all this video game music that he loves he is an intendo STAN. And so he's playing me stuff from Dr Morio and split tune in smash Brose and sonic enough. Goals just different music played in video games that he loves he got a chance to show off his passions. And I got a chance to jump in and tell him what I thought his stuff sounded like. So we've got to take turns weaving through of different rabbit holes where he would play for example, knuckles is wraps which are these kind of Harris terrible. He's early nineties style. Pop. Hip hop. The best of them. And that'd be like, well, it sounds like the Humpty dance and he'd be like what's the Humpty dance? And then we listened to the Humpty dance at which he cut off about two verse. The win the ruin scholar too too funny. The money. Got the Brown. He played music from the legend of Zelda oak arena of time and was talking about how much she loved that. I'm like, okay. We have to listen to Rigo Gabriela right now because it sounds just like this, and you will love it. But what I was most proud of was he played me. This little piece of music from when you visit the we shop. And I heard that an immediately said we have to listen to one Garcia Eskin..
