A Turning Point: Race Relations In Sports

"It has now been more than four weeks in George. Floyd was murdered nearly a month since we all watched him. Take his last breaths. It feels like so much is different, but real actionable change that takes time. Many who took to the streets in protests have now resumed their daily lives, so now seems appropriate to discuss how sport will handle affairs moving forward. As North American teams and Leagues Continue Their Return to play processes. It is vital that the conversations and promises made when the racial issue was hottest that they do not go away. In a few moments, we will welcome in our panel to discuss how that should happen, but first a look at how we got here in the first place. He will have color have been argued about beliefs, and that's not right. That's not right by any was standards. The point he was making gut twisted from the start. The beginning when Colin Kaepernick I made is public protests peacefully heap I sat on the bench during the national anthem to bring awareness. There's a lot of things that need to change once one specifically police brutality. There's people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable. It was the summer of two thousand sixteen, when he bursts truly used his platform as an NFL quarterback to speak out against systemic racism by police in the weeks leading into that preseason payment. San Francisco capper Nick had watched. We all had. To white officers pinning down Alton Sterling. And pumping. into his chest and back. He saw the traffic stop in Minnesota when Philander Casteel was killed in front of his girlfriend in charge. And captured it could not understand how mental health therapist Charles Kinsey could be shot by police when he was lying on the ground with his arms up in the air, people of color have been targeted by police. Cops are getting paid leave. For killing people. That's not right. That's not right by anyone's standards. And yet from the beginning law in. pre-game gesture was misrepresented and downright manipulated. The Christ came that he was disrespecting the flag that it was a slap in the face to military personnel. But when active soldiers pointed out, they serve to provide their citizens with the freedom of speech that capture nick was exercising. That narrative quickly was quashed when army veterans who had been in battle, echoed that very sentiment out of national football league buildings team needs I would be disappointed if any of our players didn't stand up for the national anthem personally. I, look at that as a salute to the people who have paved the way for us. Our Organization believes that. You should. Respect the flag and so you'll save those individual decisions to expression show. On individual form. And that became the prevalent message. Don't do it here. Stick to sports. The underlying tone. How dare you protest without our approval we're. Do you get off? Colin Kaepernick criticizing anyone in another uniform. Right the men and women lead for this, I- scenic. First hand. For. Somebody do that to get paid millions of dollars. It's ridiculous. Cabinet remained undeterred. United States Army Bet. Nate! Boyer who did tours of duty in Iraq, and Afghanistan encouraged him to kneel and not sit. By, taking a knee voyeur told him you show your respect for fallen brothers that way. So capture nick did. And then more NFL players followed. And yet the public and political conversation in the US would not steer toward police brutality. No matter how much star athletes peacefully attempted to. And the leader in America's biggest chair. Amy Shirley Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL owners? When somebody disrespects our flag to say, get that son of a job appealed right now out each fire. I! Capture Nick became a source of division for standing up against injustice. He hasn't taken a snap since that twenty sixteen season. And at this year Super Bowl USA. Today's jared bell minced no words on why that is I. Think it's pretty obvious. He's been blackballed for Colin Kaepernick not to have a job is just. It's the worst look for the NFL. No conversation was more dominant inside NFL. Locker rooms that season than the Kapernick one teams are made up of players of all ages of all backgrounds of so many ethnicities. If you actually want to listen to different perspectives. If you're an athlete who would want to hear what your peers had to say, there would be no shortage of takes to soak in. But fundamentally the want would be to understand capper knicks fundamental point. After George Floyd one of the League's biggest stars reminded us that many still didn't I will never agree with anybody disrespecting the flag of the United States of America or our country. Maybe that was the crossroads moment because the reaction to. It felt like something had changed almost as. That won't cut. It anymore drew. brees in the rest of the NFL were told right away, the new. Orleans quarterback came under fire. The players in the league had just about enough of the establishment silence. They had captured message. They were not gonNA. Let owners and Roger Goodell get away with it this time. Would have other Jewish Knowledge George if I was. I was George Void. Jewish. And say hi in. Regard. To me right. Breezes all pro receiver found Dallas's bruising runner and Houston's electrifying quarterback, and Kansas City Super Bowl Mvp. And Obi. And they all let you know. We. Condemn Racism and assistant. Matic oppression of black people. National League, admit wrong and silence our players from protesting. Also. Black lives matter black lives matter. Like loves. To Have Patrick Mahomes the next superstar the NFL. Front and center. That was massive. And the very next night the commissioner uttered the words you never imagined would happen. We the National Football League Immune. We were wrong for not listening NFL players earlier. And encourage all speak out in peacefully protests. Read the National Football League believe black lives matter. Progress. Probably a step forward. You want to believe so. The day after the commissioner changed his tune, breeze went to social media again. He'd already made his hollow apologies without actually saying sorry, and he finally seemed to be listening to what some teammates had to say, and after all of that even drew brees somewhat stood up to the president. It won't Change Donald Trump of course, but maybe it will make others think. Perhaps it will create more uncomfortable conversations to allow for a greater understanding among all of us. And at the very least it has given others throughout sport. To have the freedom to finally say their piece open believing they may at last be heard. Or country is in, trouble. Basic reason is race. You're seeing an example of future. That's fighting for you for you. Right now a fine for you got a grandfather that march legs. Dr King in the sixties. And he was amazing. You'll be proud to see us all. Got Pushing? Forward Doing Casey marched with his family. Members of Detroit's organization. An NBA coach using his voice. Over in Jacksonville Jaguars personnel were among the demonstrators. North Philly's finest. He walked. Kyle Lowery's we can. Priorities were set. This though. This is just the start. To silence of countless elites spoken loud. Until you see action from an, don't forget by the leaks themselves. We wonder what the real commitment to progress actually is. What capper protests was about from. The beginning can no longer be debated. And it is now crystal clear to all of us that no athlete should just shut up and dribble. Nelson Mandela famously said. Sport has the power to change the world. Since George, Floyd perhaps we have learned that change can come more from our sporting icons using their voice platform in pursuit for justice than any jumper were swing. Or goal or touched them. Stick to sports. Sure let's stick to sports bettering the world in a new way. Let's start hearing the real message now. And most of all, let's not get the words and actions like Hafer. Knicks twisted. When he tried to begin the real conversation. Before US AGO!

"Can tell a lot about people's general state of mind based on their social media feeds. Are they always tweeting about their biggest peeves or posting pics of particularly cute kitties? Well in a similar fashion, researchers are turning to twitter for clues about the overall happiness of entire geographic communities. What they're finding is that regional variation in the use of common phrases produces predictions that always reflect the local state of well-being. But removing from their analyses, just three specific terms, good love and L. O. L. Greatly improves the accuracy of the methods. We living in a crazy Kobe nineteen era, and now more than ever will be using social media to adapt to a new normal land. Reach out to the friends and family that become meet face to face. "Backup Sam Darnold there that courtroom. I think DARNOLD FLACCO David Fales. Who A guy from San Jose state ago. David Morgan the shaft in the fourth round. Flack seem to make the most sense if one of the veteran quarterback because you know have a guy who won the Super Bowl played in this division who was the first trump picky handle those pressures any managed to exceed the expectations. That I think Joe Borough is GONNA is GonNa be those expectations are now going to set on borough so that could have been a nice opportunity. A Nice mentorship for have but really what's what's really the value of How are you GONNA put a price tag on that when you take it away roster spot from someone else who can contribute the bengals have been our record for saying that the mentorship in the leadership aspect is not gonNA come from the backup quarterback spot? You WanNa see what else Ryan Finley has in the second year. You like the upside the Jig. Dollah as those are your three quarterbacks so you're gonNA roster then have three coaches in Zach Taylor. Brian Callaghan Dan Pitcher. Who have all been quarterbacks in their lifetime? Have all coached quarterbacks in lifetime at least this is the first year a damn pitcher is GonNa be the quarterbacks coach. Those guys are all not even forty years old yet and typically you think that the veteran backup quarterback spot is somewhere in the rage age range of like thirty five to forty so it's not exactly traditional compared to what you see in the form of Jospeh counter or somebody like that who also think on the market. I think it's more wise. Use a roster spot elsewhere when you get the same value of a backup veteran quarterback who can offer leadership to colleague borough who in all honesty? I mean winning it to this question next regarding boroughs age but like Birds GonNa turn twenty four this year Ryan. Finley turned twenty five next year. The for having guys. Who aren't that experienced there. They are still in the older side. You have guys through twenty one twenty two years old of this position group and again you have coaches. You have multiple coaches who have experienced playing and coaching position. I think anything that you would expect Joe flacco to be able to to give advice on aside obviously going to the playoffs winning super which I think some people would still value having that. I think whatever you would siphon that whatever you would value in the of quarterback you're GonNa have in the coaching staff to extent so I don't think it's a big party for them and I also think it's it should be heard you all so. We had a text from Dany from London over pond. Hi Danny he's asking Joe. Borough is a little older than Lamar Jackson. Only a year younger than Patrick. Mahomes into Shawn Watson. Rebuff drafted three years ago. Now how will boroughs age entering the League as a rookie manifest itself in the short medium term? It's interesting because Joe Borough is actually young enough. Where if you look back from like the nineteen eighty-three draft class which was like the pinnacle of quarterback classes The vast majority of successful quarterbacks in the long-term are usually twenty-three You rarely see quarterbacks who are as old as Joe. Borough TURN INTO MULTIPLE. Quarterbacks typically basically every position the younger you are in the more talented your at that age it bodes well from for your long term output for your long term potential Jo boroughs. Not exactly he's not Finley. Who was twenty four when he was drafted intern? Twenty five in December so from a long-term perspective thing. Joe Borough is just inside the age range where you're comfortable that he still has room to grow but for the short term. I do think it definitely helps. I think if you have a guy like Amar who's twenty one when was drafted then develops in his twenty two twenty three year old. That's like the dream right. You have multi user experience when you're the same age the guy who just got drafted by by your rival team with borough. He has two years of starting experiences of college quarterback but he also has five years of being a quarterback in general in call it system. I'll be three years at a whole another school with a whole nother system. But yeah he's not he's GonNa be. He's GonNa have wide rookie moments. That's that's not going to not happen. He's still a rookie quarterback the majority of those even in today's age we're going struggle. Compared to League average is based on the years but yeah I think it does help for him to be a little bit on the older side. I think he has more leadership experience than other rookie quarterbacks who have to start in their first year. That's that's going to be the key thing you're gonNA have words with Joe Borough. It's not going to be perfect. It's not going anywhere. Close what you saw. Nineteen if you WANNA say it's can be between twenty eighteen point that I think that's a fair assessment but the jumps from callers to the. Nfl is is big. No matter how old you are no matter what your experiences age in the oldest always help you like Margaret. Sanger was twenty seven years old now be. He didn't have a lot of college experience. But you know I if found out that he was just as athletic powerful as NFL guys. If you didn't have the mental fortitude to hand then least nearly early years you're gonNA amounts anything regardless of how much older work read other rookie. So it helps in a certain way. It helps in his long-term as well because it's not exactly on the older older side for the position but at the same time he still rookie and he's still going to go through some of those words that you would see even with guys on the younger side. We also had a text from Steve Johnson from Seattle. He was asking about schematically. What are the bengals trying to do on defense? What is their identity? There's also a comments there. There's also a common early on about If we're GONNA do more exotic things from from a defensive perspective they're gonNa have more bear fronts or if they're going to do more guys blitzes and honestly like that's not anything really new like we saw that. In the Mike Zimmer days we saw them the Paul Guenther days when we even saw that in certain extent last year. In Luma's for defense I do think with the question of bear fronts. I think we could see a slight increase in there. Because now you have two guys. We confident at three taking spots. You have imagined this you have Gino Atkins Dj reader or three texts. Remember easier was more of a big APP. Defender appear three technique last year with the Houston. Texans anyone Your nose tackle. He has the ability to push the pocket from that technique spot. And now you have nine Gino Atkins in these certain situations. Josh Suppo becomes your True Zero Tech. Your true knows the guy who lives up right on the on the nose of the center to three techniques and a pure noses what makes up the base of a bear front. Then you have to five techniques or you'd have to stand up defensive ends either either one really works at remember this one specific example when the bengals where the jets a few a few years ago you had Michael. Johnson Carl's dunlap. I actually standing up in in those certain situations when you had Gino Atkins Couple other interior defenders making up the interior of your bare front. But now I think you're more comfortable with the quality in depth of personnel on the interior to run those reforms formations because at the end of the day. If if you're different sacco's getting blown off the ball and you have your linebackers plan a little bit off in those certain situations. You'RE GONNA get gassed up front in your defensive ends are earn observes where they can get leverage from the inside. If you have guys like Atkinson reader can hold her own the point of attack again like to bow. Who can maybe to gap in those situations? Then have linebackers Germain Pratt in the Josh. Vines Logan Wilson who can basically stack shed from the second level. Blockers MAKES THE BEAR FRONT. A little bit more effective. Because now you're able to utilize that whenever you feel comfortable Depending on what what type of formation personnel the offense is running in certain situations you have the personnel to handle it in be stout around run defense and also it creates a pass rushing opportunities. You can run some stunts on loops. You can basically have to Po- 'EM redirects his decoys you have atkins loop around. You can do stuff with Sam Hubbard from from all stance you can have him lineup as awful linebacker basically sugar sugar gap ing up the Big Apple. Maybe even the Situations you have a lot more versatility in options with this defensive front. The bengals now provided that most of them are healthy. I think that's where a key Davis either comes into play. Because he has experienced the Blitzer Logan Wilson in Germain prior both experienced blisters in college in lease we saw of that in the preseason with Pratt. But yeah you have a lot more options with this defense. I think from identity standpoint. Now I think it's still that three four in base but you're still having four down linemen two linebackers for the most for the most part. Because that's just what every defense looks like. Now offense are not changing their not going away from the direction of their heading to right now the progressive in the same way in. That's just not slowing down. See still need you guys who can play. You still need seven guys. Who can play in space and you can't really afford to have five down linemen out there from majority of the time even though you know if that's the strength of your defense on the defense line you still need guys who can drop back in coverage for fifty or sixty snaps the game so the the the identity is still just your four to five. That's just the nature of the NFL. Now but in those situations I guess if you WanNa talk about when they play in the AFC north and they're facing run heavy teams. Yeah you're still. You're still having those three or four multiple looks. Were you guys Lineup in two points dances in three point. Stances on the edge and you have Here in Gina Raider which now you can afford to go four three and three or four looks. Let's see let's go back to the comments section from Jay Cooke Tj Who's from raved about working with John Ross. Speed quickness combined is a match so hope they stopped trying to use Mrs Deep Ball Receiver. That should not be his main route. That was one of the one thing that bothered a lot of us about Ross. Rookie year was that it just seemed like Marvin Lewis had zone opinion on Ross. In general maybe. He didn't want him on the team at all but it just seemed like. That's all they really cared about was just as deep speeding just as ability on routes nine routes when.

"Find quality guys in guys that you want style were valuable and worthy of these contracts you can make them expendable so yeah. I don't think Gio spot Is particularly safe. If if Indus improves to be healthy if Anderson proves to be effective I think that in effect makes both him and mixing expendable so good question. I think it's something that the bengals have to basically mask themselves before they give Joe Mixing of deal. That's worth ten million dollars a year We'RE GOING TO GO BACK TO A. Go question here from ten who who emailed us any chance of the bengals moving Geo to a slot receiver position this year. Seems he has lost a step on third downs. He's getting bull rushed every time he's the bengals from day one. Also Tim wants to say I salute thing that has lost. Its effectiveness as pass. Block is still think he's affected is definitely the best one of the AD. Do think that we have to give credit. Joe makes him for beat being better in that regard any was this. I think we saw some slight improvements from him as past protector. But I think in this offense offense specifically you have basically Joe Mixing being the Clyde Edwards Hilar- who guideline about wide or in the backfield as just now labor seaver. Don't really worry about pass pass protection because that's not. What did leave the past walking duties to Gio i? He can be fine as a receiver in those situations. I know there's other offensive schemes that could utilize his talents there. Which you already have a guy like mixing who can do the things that you imagine. Gio could do. I don't think that energy was appointed his career where you can't handle pass protection duties because that's going to be important you know when you're in when you're in these personnel groupings. That you want Joe Borough to being. You can't always have them in an empty sets needs. You sometimes have six-man protections against third-down blitz. Games would not so the have a guy like Geo who you feel comfortable rather leaving him on an island to take on a number of edge defender while you have may be mixed on the field same time out wide running bubble screens running some quick slants or whatever because you already have a guy mixing who can do that. I don't think that changes what you do with Bernard especially if you just have a template of the running back that thrives in offense that's led by quarterback mixing becomes that Bernardo don't think changes that much therefore I don't think is usage changes. That's much either. Hi I'm Ariel Jim. Ross host of the tech podcast resets. And I'm here to tell you about some of the stories. "On deep routes. He did have kind of yards after the catch. Big Play against the forty niners junk time. But I'm talking the screens. I'm talking and around all that kind of stuff. There was those were plays that were part and parcel of his college career. Where he made some big plays wasn't just the the deep balls where he outrun. Outran everybody the yards after the catch place so I would like to see the bengals institute that I know. It's a little more difficult to call those when there are health concerns and whatnot but you drafted the guy for a reason. He's got speed. He's got shifting Use it and you know if you're able to get the ball out quickly. Get it to him in space. And he's able to make things happen. "Be able to protect so you touched on the wide receiver definition strapped class. Solomon and you You know you you've got the bengals talking about how they want. Aj Green in the long term plans. You you brought him up just a second ago. Do you think it's the right move to spend quite a bit of money on on him to remain with the Bengals? I mean on one hand. You've got the veteran star. Receiver that you can help prop up your rookie quarterback with but on the other hand you're paying a guy on the wrong side of thirty with a couple of big injuries the past couple of years Jerry. True but let's ask ourselves you think the Arizona cardinals of doing the right thing by continuing to creep back Larry Year just that Kinda guy is the presence he hasn't locker room. You were part of some of the most fun and innovative. Nfl teams bengals teams At the time I'm GonNa put you on the spot a little bit. I don't I don't know if you have a specific entertaining story to maybe bring us behind the the bengals curtain a little bit whether it's about. But we've got some fans that listen to this podcast that both remember you as a player but also some on the younger side didn't experience those teams that you were on. John I cut you off there when I was doing our little show Promo. I think he had something else to add. Yeah just real quick and in the comments section when we were talking about the whole discussion from Brandon Allen Penrod facebook. How do you feel about versatile? Guy Legs Three that's the the guy I'm actually kind of the the basically what I was alluding to in terms of guy who's more of the linebacker sizes you can play you know you know in a two point stance on off the ball but it also bright provided I just I just wanted to say that. Allow because he was Kinda reading my mind in terms of what the player I was thinking of so Kudos to you brandon. Yeah let's let's unless we get a couple more here we can maybe end on this because it's a good segue off of what we were talking about the defense and I think the last question mentioned this player and Drake her Patrick. We had an email from Thomas Mack asking about the viability of Drake. Her Patrick potentially transitioning positioning to a safety role. Sometimes it hasn't been as frequent lately but sometimes you see corners transition into a safety role. Maybe they loses staff there at the end of their career. That sort of thing. The Thomas Thomas is Take on this is you know. He's got decent size is about six hundred pounds. He's always kind of been a willing tackler. And you know he's got the length and all that kind of stuff Tends to get it kind of Baha. He tends to get a lot of pe- is and stuff on the on the boundary so maybe kind of creating a rover role or or something like that. Would that make sense for drake. Her Patrick or is this this guy that should really be looked at pretty heavily as a cap casualty this year definitely the latter but I also like corners. Its Catalogue Offense Line if you don't notice them you know. They're pretty much doing their job. But when you do notice dre it's always either. He gets grabby Oregon. It's been by double Moose. And that was more of a frequent issue later in his career. But it's still it's still does pop up every now and then you just goof off their you know you can't really trust them in space you prefer in just bumping around coverage but he doesn't have the nuances in terms of ham were to you know thriving in bumper coverage one hundred hundred zero time so I think it's not really the case of Leon Hallway when he was more in a safety in the latter part of his career. kind of worked out because you is a fluid mover in space and he can trust. Is I think if for Patrick the more space you you you put them. In between in terms of just taking deep shells and coverages I think the more volatile player he gets. He's already pretty volatile player. I think he is who he is. And I don't think moving him from quarterback is GonNa make become a better player I it could make him only a worst player in. I think with how much money they're paying him now. That's a lot of money for safety to make in the anyways. So if he's not negative cornerback back in you by Robson's to go without the position with the money he's making. I think it's more of the fact that you just gotTa move on from him than just try to change positions. Yeah I'm pulling up. Some of his is Some of his statistics here. Here's the concerning thing and and it depends on what you WANNA do your corners of what you want out of your safety fifties. I think all in all the bengals would love to create more turnovers. That is something they have not done. And even withdraw missing you know. He misses a couple of games here. And there in twenty twenty six hundred seventeen two thousand eighteen and then missed quite a bit in twenty nine thousand nine. Here's the thing John. Since two thousand seventeen over over three seasons granted he missed some time time last year. But one interception You know that's not the the only indicator of cornerback success in the NFL. But it's a big one and Dropped interceptions to be honest. It's it's high I mean that's that's a good point because you look you look it in here passes defended you know sixteen ten fourteen nine. I mean I would venture to guess that at least in from Twenty Sixteen being through twenty eighteen at least five of those were dropped interceptions combined over those over those seasons. I mean there are. There's an immense amount of those so That that kind of stuff kills them also but You know it's an interesting idea to think about having drake her. Patrick move into safety safety. I don't know I don't know that that would would work. I think you'd maybe need to create some sort of kind of rover ish role and let them kind of have free reign a little bit but like you said sometimes he just gets out of control plays in when you when you give a guy free rein like that and he has the propensity to kind of get out of control. It's a little scary. So maybe it's the bengals hang onto him for one more year and draft corner higher than we think and groom that corner to be his heir parents but You know it is. It is a critical offseason at that position in for Drake. Patrick definitely any others you want to get to before we get out of here us go one more. We go rob fruit from the facebook comment section. How do you think the bengals will be infrequency this year? You're in the ASS two or three two or three starters or just squad players It it's the biggest It's one of the biggest questions we have because we don't know how much more aggressive they're gonna be knowing knowing that they have any they're going to get any dawn contract book. They're going to now be built around a rookie quarterback. I do think we're GONNA see at least two starters in free agency Stein. Depending on the quality of those players will be up in the air. But you know I think they're gonNA address some something linebacker position because they don't have a lot of bodies in in the first place but I- against not going to be these high level players that you know we want every year but I do think that they're going to be a little bit more active because they do have more room to work within the working with a new type of scenario a new way of you know building around the team I think he realized that they can't all do with the drafting really lucky with the draft so now they have a little more space as to work with. I think you're gonNA see maybe one or two mid level starters more so than they did last year but not at the level of whatever teams are so we are ending the show in The one of the best ways I can think of. We've got good friend John From Kentucky on the Line John. How are you sir.

"Gotta get immediate impact layers. Thanks rob appreciate it. Y- you know I don't I don't know those. Those players offhand John I'm maybe you do. I gotta I gotTA check out Do some research on them but some good fuel there for us to to continue our prospect watch and you know safety is a really difficult position to to kind of evaluate. I feel like it's been a tale of two seasons for Sean Williams and Jessie Bates. I feel like they started it off very very slow and look like they regressed in I think of late especially Bates has stepped up and made some big plays and I think that probably correct me. If I'm wrong especially with the elimination of Preston Brown you know they're still going to want these rover type of guys a safety or to kind of being able to play up to the line in a little bit while being able to cover. You've got your Centerfield guy in Bates and maybe kind of have the three safety look going forward. And maybe that's where a pick that makes sense. So yeah like they have. They're pretty strong seizure. Another pretty said Clayton federalism and Brian. Wilson are pretty good back unfortunately Wilson's on I r but those are pretty good as as your reserve backup cities guys you can rotate in and like you said. Jessie Bates has improved or over the past several weeks. Because I think at the last show he leads the NFL in safeties in interceptions but also Louisiana fell on missed tackles so he's kind of developed into who we really thought he was as a prospect going. Salem's is still stable member of secondary so federalism I think is a free agent so I think that might be the one area where they could look to you know Compensate for that loss. But I'm not exactly familiar with the Pittsburgh prospect for Derrick Brown and he was the young questionable. You know not unquestionable but one of the better defensive players in the SEC this year out of Auburn Kinda similar to Quinton Williams and the way he plays Mrs Overall Repertoire of moves to get to the pastor. He's not the most productive pass rusher. Nobody does end up getting in the news and stopping runs in terms of stops. At the line of scrimmage. So he's GonNa have really profile going into the draft. It'll be interesting to see how he tests but I think he's pretty locked into a first round pick as as now because he's had two or three really good seasons at Auburn in in terms of finding guys who can stop the run. He's the he's one of the best in class. I don't think that there is a pressing need right now for the bengals in that department because they do have to Po- they do billions obviously. Have Gino in Glasgow coming back injury and they seen some promising major. Brad Rennell Ren this year so it's looking really clogged defensive tackle but I think a couple of guys are impending freedoms as well so those the two positions where I think they're pretty set in terms of feeling bad defense but a couple of free agent losses could open the need for those two positions. So was it was he referring to Derrick Brown is it yes okay okay. I thought he said offensive tackle. That was my mistake now. That's why wasn't coming to mind. Yeah I mean You know. Sec Defensive Player of the year is a very very good player. So I am familiar with him. I there was just an offensive tackle off and I was like I don't. I'm not sure who he's referring to. But I definitely know who is who he's talking about now Where do you want to go next John? Let's see here I we got a question from facebook from Rob Bellamy deal. Drafting a quarterback impossibly chased young in the same round. So that would imply take young first-overall intriguing backing for Sean for quarterback. I think somebody else asked the question of what we think about trading down the first round of shooting up into the frustration. Forget like Jalen hurts so I think that's really besides Herbert. The other quarterback the tree with in terms of smoking quarterback who's not burrow or two at the top the round. I was really excited about hurts towards the beginning of the season and I wasn't really concerned about him playing against poor. Big Twelve defenses. I would just looking at the big a game. Moments looking at some big time throws down the field just marveling at how much success that Lincoln Riley has had over the past two or three years with whatever quarterback he plugs into that system. It ends up working in hurts. I think has a great mentality in the great a mental presence for the game in how he was developed. As you know Nick Sabin type player realized that he lost his job. Two more towns quarterback ended up going to assist them. That like like we said has developed. These quarterbacks astronomically in such a short period of time and some really well Oklahoma Oklahoma came back from a loss earlier in the season. All the way to the cultural playoff jumping a couple of teams the process m beating a very good Baylor team twice But in terms of our talent is not as good as bakers was coming out of college is definitely not as good as calories coming out of college in. That's GonNa be the one thing that really hinders his overall value. But but I think his mental capacity for the game is going to help them. You know maybe Garner outta solid career as a spot starter maybe someone who develops later on in his career. I'm not sure sure that's worth really training back up into the first round definitely for a team. That needs a quarterback in the bengals could classifies that but I think the safer places. Just get the quarterback of the top of the first and not I have to worry about that yeah You know I think I think it would be a a splashy move if the bengals were to get what's widely viewed viewed as the best overall player in the draft and chase young. And then you go back and you get maybe one of the big you trade back in and you sacrifice a lot of picks The bottom line is these things can be done. These things can be done. We've seen teams move back up. Give a lot of capital do it. It's just a matter of the bengals willingness to to do that they do not like to part with draft capital. And that's just how it is. They just don't like to do that. And that's how they like to build their team especially in recent years and so you know sacrificing the next couple of classes potentially for two players that while that those could be to franchise changing players they view it as we're sacrificing our teams health long term by giving up all of these picks You know I I see the I do. See the wisdom in getting chase young and then coming back up depending on how what you have to give up and all of that to come back and get a quarterback the issue is it's probably going to take an antidote and trade used that pick a potential mid round. Pick us that. Pick as part part of the package to move back up. And then you're getting a quarterback that probably needs the development or needs to rehab in the case of two of he ends up falling. You know you're going to need to give you. You'RE GONNA have a developmental guy you're going to be taking and then you got rid of your potential bridge guy and Dalton if that's got your plan so then you're throwing these guys out there right away when maybe they're not ready that could yield.

"X have been cleaned talking. A lot of that has been tributed so the fact that he gets the ball Really quickly because necessarily can trust his offense line to withstand protection but the overall perception into the offense line is a lot worse than what it actually. It has improved over over the past three weeks. It's not as catastrophic as people think that would assume that JOE BOROUGH IS GONNA get killed behind behinds off the planet is that it's not as bad as people think right right We're GONNA WE'RE GONNA move on here again. Get to US we've got. I've seen some questions coming in the comments Tom. There of both the facebook live since jungle facebook page and are orange black out our youtube channel. So keep those coming. We're going to try and get to those you can also tweet them at us at bengals goes obi email them the CETERA. gmail.com you can give us a call or shooting attacks nine four nine five four two six two four one will be answering some questions. There's also a common thread on Cincy. Jungle Dot Com if you are so inclined to leave one there John kind of continuing on the quarterback conversation here. We got got a question about just in Herbert have your perceptions changed of him both because of his play and speaking to Joseph Yoon this week now not necessarily I think the first time I really started to watch him was around that Arizona game and then when I watched live obviously liked what I saw a lot from it. You know in general. It's it's hard to project quarterbacks like him who have such who have had such volatile Path and the fact that he showed such raw positive positive traits intriguing but also realizing that you're still a lot of problems with overall he's had struggles obviously against good defenses Game really kind of put put a lot of the struggles in into perspective but I think at the end of the day he he has the most questions out of these three quarterbacks that are worth taking the first round pick and you know I. It's a question. Love the fact that he has a lot of experience with the fact that he would be better served to rest or to be be benched in his rookie year. pint of veteran quarterback so my perceptions of hasn't really changed that much. It's almost it's almost like they were really just overall confirmed rather than just learning anything new about him. So the overall I think he's still the same quarterback that I think a lot of us thought him going into this year yet. Here's the thing to Herbert's twenty one to twenty one They're GONNA be twenty two but burroughs twenty three and that that is a big difference in terms of development of a quarterback where they're at You know herber tad more kind of more starts. I think the one thing to kind of You know a lot of people don't realize we talked about the drops by receivers. We talked about that with Josephine this week. From addicted to crack We so we also add also to note is that he's been through three. I believe three head coaches and three offensive coordinators. Two different systems. I'm he's still put up some numbers particularly the last couple of years. But there are some there's some development that's needed there and there is you know there's there's some bad habits at times that pop up on tape that need to be rectified. If you're going to rely on him otherwise you know you're gonNA look at a Jake Locker. A Blaine aimed Gabbard someone like that as your you know as maybe who he ends up being instead of a you know a franchise changing I I think the ceiling is like I said higher on a guy like that than than a guy like borough maybe not by much but I think the ceiling is higher because of the size the tools all of for that but I think there are some concerns and in some of those the two teams the teams to biggest games this year against Auburn and the the win they had to have on the road against a Mediocre Arizona State team he he looked very vulnerable so there there are some issues there I think my mind has changed a little bit on him but I still think I'm still really intrigued by the tools really intrigued by the skill set and You know I think if given the right situation may be given some time to develop. I think that that's GonNa be key for him. Whereas a guy like borough he's ready to go right now That's a guy who's ready to come in and start right now can't say really the same about two A.. Or Herbert for for differing reasons. We've got a call on the line. John I believe it's our good friend. Terrell Terrell. How's it going today? You guys doing we're doing. We're doing well here for our quarterback man. That's about it though I. I'm a pitcher now. Just get some big. I feel like this real good safety. The trump ace Berg each could cover tunes. Episodes live recordings of the episodes that we have of this show John On. Kick US off my friend. Yes Right into the live comments go from. Alexandra is a frequent listener. Frequent fan of the show. He asked him. I the only Bengals Fan. That isn't drinking the job borough kool-aid in my opinion he has Mitchell he has Mitchell trubisky project and or comparisons catastrophic move of the pass on chase young or two tunnel. Will the bengals have the same boring. offseason approach Yati Yada Yada Margetts down the candidates north as bengals now game changing prospects earthy P with Baltimore loaded question but but a lot of it stems from the same problem I the whole Mitchell. trubisky thing was that he was officially a one year starter out of UNC. Had One pretty goodyear. There I'll be not against the great schedule on albeit. I don't think you really finish your strong and I think the NFL salt his potential in that quarterback back class. Along with the the Steve Risk of Patrick Mahomes Shawn Watson declared him the best quarterback in that class in Chicago based on with that trade up one spot for him and now during the message they are because they're busy was never that good and the history of one year. Starting quarterbacks coming out of college isn't very good. I think Cam Newton is really the lone exception for someone like that's really really fulfil. What potential that he has so one year? Starters are always a risk. I think both doing asking skyline worry. We're also when you start his job he does have to use a story inexperience at Lsu Lsu and the thing you love about borough in his growth in two thousand. Eighteen was the fact that is twenty season. Dingo off to a great start. He looked very average. And that's why going into this year. He was projected as the day three pick but he finished the twenty ts law. I think pro football focus greater than with four games above eighty five over offense of grade to finish out that season so we had he showed signs lots of promise to finish out his first year. Starting and obviously we've seen the growth that he has in the second year starting so no. I don't think it's risky. Comparisons is that apt in the sense. bisky truly only had one one year starting experiencing it was also more on the older side of of the age spectrum along with borough so I don't think it's a direct one comparison. I think you'd look at the just comparing comparing the physical traits in the in the intangibles between the two quarterbacks and I don't think it's necessary close either what burroughs doing Lsu in his second year starting out. I you're starting is is astronomical compared to what we've seen in recent memory and that's what makes him the clear cut number one overall quarterback prospect in the draft in much better much better prospect than than trubisky was overall. Yeah so I'm I'm sharing a some some of my screen. Some statistics here for Joe. Borough mean you're looking at. He's got thirteen games in two thousand eighteen that he played in so I mean he's he's not really a one year starter and that's kind of where I've learned my lesson a little bit with him You know you kind of just look at today and you look at this year you you say well. This guy came out of nowhere. Where where's this been? Where's this been? Well it's opportunity. It's the right scheme. It's the right place. It is talented around him on that team. A look my thing with him is he's played what I what I have grown to really like about him his consistency and his play in big games. Now he's got probably one if not two gigantic game coming up here for his resume coming up in the College Football playoff and potentially the national championship. ESPN ship so that. That'll tell us some more things about him but he has been consistent. He has not been turning the ball over and he has been making plays creating. But I mean for six interceptions against forty eight touchdowns. This year is silly. I mean that's just silly. Statistics the thing about him. Though that I think some people we'll get worried about. I think icy him as the highest floor. Guy Of the big three quarterbacks I think his floor is the highest and I think that even if he doesn't quote unquote pan out or quote unquote live up to expectations. I think his floor is an at least Andy Dalton ish level I think he can he can get you to be competitive headed. I think he can make plays and he can while you at times at the at the NFL level. I think that's his floor. I think the ceiling may be a little lower than a guy. Maybe like to maybe like Herbert. But the risk level with those to other quarterbacks are significantly higher for different reasons so I you know I think hi floor maybe not as high ceiling and that's okay for a team like the Bengals at already you know despite being one twelve. They've got talent especially if they bring back. Aj Green Green. You've got mixed in for another year. Cordy Glenn came back. He looks to be kind of in the right mindset if things and and Healthier Joan Williams was activated at practice to practice This week so you know you've got some pieces in place going forward in twenty twenty if you get the quarterback position settled. I think the hype is really really high right now John. I think a lot of it is rightfully earned but I do think with hype does come lofty expectations. And I think there's gotta be a little little bit of caution there too and that's and that's fair and to answer. Alex is second part of the question. How Baltimore's really stand in the North Jason from over the cab dot com the guy who runs the website that focuses on sports contracts specifically pretend to the NFL? You posted a chart a couple of days on skirt. It showed the winning percentages of NFL teams from twenty seventeen to twenty nineteen and compared them to percentage of hunger in town the two teams with over seventy five percent of the roster coming from their own look draft classes would not or the bengals ravens and right now the the difference in winning percentage Ravens are just under seventy percent winning percentage. The past three years in the bengals are just over thirty percent so so the in terms of how they're structured and how they build their teams the very similar but obviously like Alex said the need game. Chaining prospects and I don't think the bengals philosophy is necessarily going to changed dramatically overnight over the course of one season and then totally dabbled. Ravens are doing because the ravens are so far ahead of everybody else in terms of team building management an analytics in all their other departments. Now much expanded this than the bengals but the bengals draft players because the way that they're going to build the teams build their team is not going to be much different as long as Mike Brown in that ownership maintained status. There I think the ravens strike the gold standard. Don't take more than just one season for the Bengals to completely evolve but in terms of of how they build a roster rosters. It's very similar but obviously the Ravens had immense amounts of success has three years drafting in making the most of their draft capital. So yeah like the Gold Santa Right now in the bengals are trying to emulate that. They're still obviously behind in that regard. Yeah and the put a post up a little bit earlier on since jungle. The talked about the steelers. Their Organizational Culture Jermaine. They're on their third quarterback. They're eight and five. They know how to build a team. They know how to win. They know how to make it work just kind of quickly to finish up the Joe Borough a conversation here Knicks Amino in the live facebook says Burrows offensive line is good. He'll get killed here. Here's the thing I mentioned Joe Williams coming back if he pans is out. That's going to be a good player. You would probably get either right. Tackle or left. Guard improved once. Williams's back you either. Slide cordy Glenn to left guard or potentially I would say right tackle And then you may be have Michael Jordan or billy price or those guys maybe duke it out a little bit left guard. trae hopkins his hat a decent year. You know at center so you know. I don't think in John Miller has been okay. Yep so I think I think there's that back there are some some additional promise. Yeah injuries in. We know that the the what if but I think there's some promise there but also borough is very good at creating creating is very good at avoiding pressure rolling out making a what should be a sack for many quarterback at the college level or NFL level. Making that into even a three to five yard gain to the running back to create a third short instead of a second or third and fifteen So I think John I don't know if you have any expanded ended thoughts on that but You know I think he's. That's that's one of his best. Ranks is creating a upon seeing pressure like we talked about it earlier the year when Phillips from Provo focus came on in the problem's not necessarily of Dalton facing a lot of pressure. But it's the fact that he's not doing anything when when he he has a clean pocket and those problems haven't been erased at all. There's only five quarterback this year with a higher percentage of dropback rate and all this year he had six percentage drawbacks..

"Anthony Costanza was cincy jungle dot com in the orange and black insider bengals podcast. I hope you are doing well. I know it's a little late for some review on this Friday evening but we're doing a little impromptu queue in a me being on the west coast. It's not so late for me but I wanted to we're we're. We're going to do a bengals mailbag feature on the on the website. We're going to we like to do the listener questions on the podcast feed so I thought I would come at you answer some questions you have leave me. Some questions in the comments section would love to hear from you as the bank bills. T- up week three going a two buffalo buffalo to know the bengals our own too so you know kind of a daunting matchup. If you will come in coming down the pike year now again you can leave your your questions comments anything you want me to kind of touch on here at. I think I'm simultaneously streaming on facebook and on a on cincy jungles facebook and on the orange black insiders youtube channel so I you know if you want want some questions answered. Leave them on either one of those you can also tweet me at C. J. Anthony or at bengals. Obi wanted to to start off with this one. I did get this tweet. A little earlier. Today was from The username is owed at at D. E. I know this may appear to be you dumb question but in context to the full season not game to game. which is it better to have on? Sunday a win or a very good performance but I don't mean finishing with a moral victory victory or heroic failure. I I understand it sound. It's weird award way but I do understand the question. I think it has to do with ten of the tanking aspect it has to do with the you know. How are we going to feel about the team. You know is a wind going to essentially hurt them at the end of the year if they WANNA get one of those high picks essay said this on this week's episode of the the the podcast if you're if you're tuned into that you know the bengals can still remain competitive. They can salvage this season and if they want to get a quarterback one of those high quarterbacks next year they can still make that happen. They can go and move up. They have to sacrifice draft capital. The thing is they have to do things that they are not traditionally. They have not been traditionally comfortable with sacrificing draft picks that is spending money that is using capital a lot of teams do this okay. Houston moved up in the draft to Shawn Watson and they were a competitive team Kansas City the same thing with Patrick the home a couple of years ago they were I think in the twenties moved all the way up to two ten or eleven whatever it was to get Patrick home so these teams can do that. Cincinnati can do that now. In terms of the question that the listener gave us about this weekend I think you WanNa have you gotta get that win. it's on the road owed. If you're GONNA do anything this season even come close to sniffing the playoffs. You GotTa get this win. You probably have to have a win next week against Pittsburgh on Monday night the Bengals don't I've said this a ton of times. The bengals don't have a home game left in September. They only had one home game and that was against the forty niners and that was an absolute disaster so oh I think for a lot of different reasons feeling good about things moving forward showing progress in and the coach is being able to get this team to improve week-to-week to not make the same mistakes. I think it's a big deal if the bengals get a win this weekend as opposed to just kind of playing well L. because usually if you lose you can point out a couple of big mistakes when you're knowing three team it kind of points to you're just not a very a good team and this new coaching staff is overseeing a team that is making error so I think for a lot of different reasons you want to see the bengals win instead of just kind of getting eating those moral victories dull Narsey. What's going on Dalton Godiva good to see man. Are we looking at getting a new kicker no I don't have to my knowledge. I don't uh I don't know that that's going to be the case. you know Randy. Bullock has been there guy and you know. There hasn't been much news on the on the kicker front in terms of you know they're bringing in competition a randy bullock being on the hot seat that sort of thing so you know. I I think if these big kicks continue to be missed by bullock then yes the bengals have brought in other The bengals brought in players to try out throughout in the early part of the season. They signed a linebacker after week one so I mean I think they're going to look at a potentially actually going to potentially get you know they're. GonNa look getting guys in here for a workout if continues to miss them kicks but for now it appears. It's randy bullock's job. He makes the kicks. He's supposed to make he misses the ones is that you're still supposed to make their tougher but in this league especially in a team that is just desperate for good things. They're a team in transition. They've got new coaches they need to they need to cling to every point opportunity possible and randy bullock his as left you know six six points on the board for the bangles over the past two weeks and that's not good that wouldn't have you look at the score last week when fuel will probably wouldn't have made a huge difference when you look at it that way but at at the time it was a critical miss. The bengals were kind of trying to climb back in the thing. There was a a two possession game at the time he misses the ball missed field goal in ball ball hooks laughed and you know that's not that's not good and then obviously a one point difference in week one one missing that kick looms large Stephen Spivey. What are the keys to the game against Buffalo Great Question to me. I think the you know there's there's basically two things you can you look at right. It's better play from the linebackers and or the defense itself especially the back the back back into the defense right the linebackers safeties have really regressed this year after Sean Williams and Jessie Bates after having really good seasons last year they they've been victimized is a pretty pretty often. I think it's because they're playing a bit further up in the box than they are used to because they need to mass those linebacker deficiencies so I mean basically you look at that area or the run game to me. It's the running game you have to get the running game going because that not not only shows that the running backs to bring productive doc but it shows a boost offensive line play and when you have a boost offensive line play obviously the running game. The passing game works all of that I think the passing yards will continue to be there. The passing place will continue to be there have been there the first two weeks you know one of the leading passers in the League in terms of yardage so I think those will be there. It's finding balance being able to use play action and you know Buffalo score some points but I'm not this isn't a Kansas City chiefs offense here so I think if the bengals were to get some yards put some points up. I think they can you know potentially win a shootout if they're able to run the ball effectively use those running backs effectively you know. I I think that like I said the passing yards will be there. It's just a matter of how that works. I'm obviously do you. WanNa see the uptick in a defensive play from week to but I think for now I think you've really gotta find that balance on Offense Fence Act Taylor preach that all off season. That's been kind of a little bit of a surprise really throughout the entire preseason and regular season at the bengals haven't been able to run the football. I mean we knew do this. Offensive Line had issues. We knew there is you know injuries and you know not the not the biggest household names on that line but late last last year with kind of a patchwork line they were able to run the ball very well you kind of figured they would be able to do at least a little bit of the same they share with very similar cast members numbers maybe even you know perceived improvements along certain areas and they haven't been able to do anything so to me. I think the biggest key is in running a football this week in finding balance. Obviously defensive plays another key but for me running game is paramount this week I see in the in the believe it's the live youtube chat. you know there's there's talking you know talking about trades and whatnot Trent Williams that that can do that's almost a weekly topic right I don't. I don't see Trent Williams I don't know if Trent Williams is a guy that the bengals will target because he is a guy that that will that is You know commanding ending a lot a high profile high yield. He will need a high yield of draft capital in you know obviously veasley money the bengals would probably want to extend his current contract that sort of thing so I just I don't foresee that happening in the last as we get closer to the trade deadline. The redskins are willing to part with them with for a little less just to get him off their books and get them out of their locker room. All that kind of stuff stuff you know unless they're really looking to part with him for a lesser amount in terms of draft capital that sort of thing. I don't see it happening. The according land thing kind of throws a wrench into the whole works this would this really wouldn't even be a topic of conversation. If cordy Glenn had been healthy he still dealing with that concussion issue. I'm we're we're going. We're going on a month plus year. That cordy Glenn has been dealing with this then you lose Jona Williams to me you know I think it would be great in theory very few have Trent Williams for a handful more years if he can play effective football than you've got Joan Williams kind of is your book ends over the next couple of couple of years but you know I I this is that's not the type of trade usually this. This team makes granted. They traded for Cordy Glenn last year but that was kind of a shell game in terms of moving moving around the draft that they moved back a little bit in the draft and they got him on a contract. That was pretty team friendly that sort of thing so I just I don't really see I don't really we see that happen. again. I'm Anthony Costanza with CINCY JUNGLE DOT COM and the orange and black insider bengals podcast appreciate you joining us on this Friday a evening. Were getting you set for week. If i miss <hes> backside safety that's down so <hes> i always say bobby hardware john miller <hes> those are kind of the guys who are komo vocal guys who are really the rocks of the room right now as i continue to catch back from this you see john french of his. I was breakdown passer researchers. We talked about it on his rookie. It's a good thing we got guys who do that. They're doing that at all. No and i'm going to go and watch what he does is in the guy. Who does that. Stuff breaks out the film's mixon rush spin club those contacts. We have all uh john. Thornton was the hardest mod for you to execute verses your best block. The left hand punch yeah right now. I think <hes> is is your nose. I know when we play ball with pittsburgh. Zero knows right now. Especially those big bodies again grant williams three forty according to his roster rate dude. Ah can't hayward another kind of guys just zero to go. Those are kinda the tough ones for me <hes> just again you've got your on an island because taking the guards tackles to mass walk <hes> and then <hes> the easiest for me right now as i've developed a pretty good consistency with a reach park chasing technique watched some guys in <hes> anytime we're doing from the outside zone work. It's a lot better than last year so it's going to be huge and you guys you guys are doing more and more zone with rance gupta so you prefer dunes. It's gonna be very going like man gap <hes>. I think i think the n._f._l. I the whole zone right now. I think that the that you see that more often than when you see the one off plays where it's blocking and some of the pimple schemes <hes> it's just it's just i think what makes the rams offense so unique is is is the compliments based on a in comments routes on past protections routes on pass and some of the different things that coordinate and make it easier for offensive lineman so of you bring a guy timmy makes it easier versus. I have to go run another nine yards to go. Get that guy so and i think that's what you'll see. Especially the rams offensive line those guys are highlighted so well because because of the different things that are going on so what's going to be a difference in a lot of people are going to shrink. Have you heard that they're grooming him in silence alexa <hes> <hes> carl no <hes>. I haven't had to block him. <hes> don't really know which particular stuff you're talking about that. They were trying to get him. One on one was august various talking talking to okay no. I don't know how to block carl his but i know he looks looks pretty. The genus still the toughest. "Anyway, he kind of intimated that the new OBI wan kanobi film going to be filmed in Ireland. So he says, I'm along the effects here we go. What was the biggest grossing movie last year Star Wars? And where does George Lucas proposed to make a follow up about OBI wan kanobi Northern Ireland? Okay. We've already had you immigration kind of say, no, that's not gonna happen. And I'm not sure after the whole solo debacle where the didn't make as much as they thought they were going to than they kind of canceled all the and Cillari movies are not cancelled with put him on hold indefinitely. Maybe borsch Johnson. Just doesn't know what's going on. Currently. I'm sure that that one point it was slated to film in Northern Ireland. But you know, they're pulling back the reins on a lot of the Star Wars stuff. Now, they don't want to over saturate. I'm not saying we won't get a we won't kanobi story. I would be happy to watch that solo was a good movie. I don't care what anybody says. It was good. Critics were wrong. Go watch it. So. Yeah. We may or may not get nobody one movie the Northern Ireland Boris Johnson seems to think so, but you know. Politicians have been wrong on more than one occasion. But one thing we do know is the next one episode nine is going to be coming out next year December twentieth. Two thousand nineteen Mark your calendar. Episode nine into the third trilogy. Will they start another trilogy? I don't know. I haven't heard anything I kind of think maybe they should leave the trilogy's alone and just start doing these standalone movies. You know? I think OBI wan standalone after his trilogies done will be great. I would love to see more backstory on law. These other characters may be some of the more unsung characters. Hey, how about a boss how about an eighty eight any of those other cool characters who were just kind of just under the radar people know about them, but not everybody. There's an idea for Disney. I just made you some money follow my ideas, you can Email me for more ideas. Anyway. Probably won't see you'll McGregor. Obi wan kanobi? I'm betting against that. I'm saying Bush Johnson's probably full of it. And we won't see anything until after the trilogy the third show jeans. Okay. If you don't know who Thanos is by now, you live under a rock the adventures of entity war and him making cameos and all the movies leading up to that. You gotta know Thanos says man, they did such a good media blitz with him. So well that they have discovered a new dinosaur in Brazil, and they have named it after..

"Drug treatment or neighborhoods safety that would come to fruition. If this were to be passed by the Ohio legislature. You know, again, too as you say the legislature had they taken responsibility. We may not be in this predicament because they can change the law a constitutional amendment. You just can't willy nilly go on and say, well, we're going to tweak this and tweak that doesn't it take some thority from judges that might offer you can go to counseling, you can go to rehab, but if you don't you've got to face some jail time, doesn't that kind of exit the plan for you as a judge. Absolutely. Even if this were a legislative proposal rather than a constitutional proposal. If somebody told me I had to reform. A drug addicted person. And this is a difficult task you're talking behavior. Modification if I don't if I only have the good, but no bad. No, no, no, no stick to go along with the carrot. When I tell somebody you need to do this you need to go to this treatment program, if I can't put them in jail, and that's what this constitutional amendment would provide. Then how do I get them to do anything? So first and foremost, the big problem with this is that they want to put it in the constitution. Just today. I looked up. How many times are OBI statute the operating a vehicle under the influence has been modified? I looked up. How much our probation? Statutes have been modified and our drug trafficking statute.
