"In central, not in a perfect position, but I told any B we're not going unless we get moved. We're done. I would sacrifice the whatever it is, $2000 I have remaining credit there. But I'm not taking three people. I'm going to probably take two. Yeah. And then we'll suffer through the booth time. And if the booth is slow, well, well, a one person there. And the other person could go on to the floor. This is my last year for NAB. If any B doesn't, if NAB is a dud, we're done with NAB. Yeah, I only, I mean, I was really for all intent and purposes I was really the only one that worked Danny B show in New York for lips and I mean, I had a couple of folks come by. But nobody was there full time. But I might consider going to the show in London. We might consider that. You know, I'm going to be looking more at overseas events. I think that's a good one. I think that would be kind of new territory. I've been to that show before, and it's a rival the podcast movement. There's a lot of energy over there for podcasting that I think the U.S. is going to be. You just said something right there. I came back from Riyadh and was literally high on energy for a week. Right. Coming out of that event. That's a new market. It's got that feel. It's got that feel an excitement. And it's not that it's not exciting here in the United States. Don't get me wrong, but the market's matured. Right. And. Yeah. There's not a lot of I knew new energy in this market. I found a YouTube video of the Riyadh presentation, but it's in Arabic. They overdubbed it. The English into Arabic, so I've asked the organizers, do you have English version of that presentation? I'd really love to be able to share that with people so people could see and hear keyword here is here what Spotify rep had to say. I think it would be eye opening to content creators. Here, about what they thought about the messaging that they're how they're messaging is different. In that part of the world. Right. Yeah. So what do you think that messaging is how is it derived differently? Do you think? Generally, we own the space. We're here to help you. We're like the government we're here to help. And we've got the presence to help you. And friendly group, but that's the blessing. If that is the emotional feel of it, then that's what it is. That was my emotion feel, but I'm biased. So I would rather hear, you know, I have a bias. I have a pre built, you know, wanting to give someone a double bird sometimes. That's the pre Bill in bias. The urge. The urge. The urge to fly with the bird fly right. To free the bird. You know, and don't take me that wrong, but sometimes I just get like, oh, really? You know, and it's my competitive sense coming out, really. Okay, let's go. All right. There's 800 pound gorilla, and I'm the mouse, you know? Getting ready to get squashed. So maybe it's just envy. David and Goliath type of scenario. And I'm not too proud to not know that, you know. My little podcast hosting company is like, oh my God, I'm competing against those guys. Holy shit. They're shaking in their boots. And they're not. Well, you weren't either, right? No. But at the same point, that's the feeling. Crap. Damn. I need a $100 million right now. Come on, someone write me a check. You know, let's go get them. And if you do know a native Arabic speaker, I'm looking for a social media person for Saudi too. Oh, really? Yeah, absolutely. Gotta have somebody boots on the ground. Gotta be. Some native speaker. This is otherwise you can't communicate. And the new wants is, that's true. Yeah? World is full of nuance. Yeah, it is. It is, but so what else is going on here, Todd? You know, be honest with you. I've had my head down so hard. And just I've got my 5th 5th or 6th blue journal, I filled this year. You know, just like scribbling and stuff. Yeah. You know, I think the number on Sirius saying that they had a 123 million in revenue and podcasting for quarter three 22. That's a pretty impressive number. That's a pretty impressive number. If they did a 123 million, just for podcasting, for their shows, that's a number, dude. That's a number. That is a number. It is a number. And you know, how many, I'd like to know across how many shows. That's what I really want to know. How many shows did it take to earn a 123 million where those shows of properties they own and control? And how much of that revenue share went back to the content creator. You know, how much of that went back did 60 million of that go back to the talent? I doubt it. Because if it is, some podcasters are going to be rolling. You know, that's the thing I always want. I see this big number, 123 million. Okay.

"The Goodyear hotline. I can't say what it is, and I hate doing that. But we almost had a heck of a, uh, a mistake here on this show, which would have been really funny after it happened, But it didn't happen. And that's why there's such great professionals. Here on ESPN Radio Myron to make sure we are on the straight and narrow. We need it, man you got to. You got to keep us in line for sure. That's right Now, you know, one of the most interesting stories to me that's happening in the world of sports is down is down in Dallas. With the Dallas Mavericks because First of all, the Dallas Mavericks are an interesting franchise because this is another team that you think. Okay, well, what's their window right, like the West was kind of open this year. They won their first game in the playoffs. And you see Luca putting these crazy performances up and you're thinking you know what Maybe maybe Dallas can be can be the team that sort of makes a run. Now the season ends and everything seems to have collapsed. Rick Carlisle's gone Donny Nelson's Gone Their stories about like professional gamblers fighting with Luca Dungeons who work in the front office of the Mavericks. It's kind of an insane situation. And yet you've got the superstar. This prance ended superstar on your roster who seems a little unhappy with everything. What's going to happen in Dallas? And does it feel like the old soap opera prime time soap opera Dallas is actually moved to the basketball facility? It does, uh, feel like that Funny story actually went to a party for the new addition of Dallas at the Final four. Some years ago, there's a new shell Dallas that kind of brought it back. Remember that they brought Dallas and dynasty back. So they had the whole crew at this big party that I went to was kind of like the old Dallas by the way not to get off track here. But did you like J r Bobby Ewing? Oh, yeah. That was a good show. It was good. It was. It wasn't very popular. Anyway, Go ahead. But I mean, you know the thing with Luke is he's good in terms of he's not going anywhere. I mean, he's set to. I think signed an extension worth $200 million. He can't make more money anywhere else. Luke is going to be in doubt. The question will be who they put around him because you know in this league, man, your young star, whether you like it or not, You gotta cater to them. You got to make sure they're happy because every start asleep has the same power and we saw this with Anthony Davis. Chris Paul carry Irving. If a superstar in this league says I'm not happy I want to leave their team will say no, no, no, There's no way we train you. But after a few months, it might even take a year. They're going to make that decision because at the end of the day, you got to get something in return. So you don't want Luca getting to the point in the next 2 to 3 years where he's like, I don't want to be here because that deal is not going to matter, you'll be forced to trade him. So they got to bring in a new coach because Rick Carlisle is gone that I think Luca likes. They have to have a good conversation about Luke. I don't think you let him make the decision. But I do think he kind of has veto power on who comes into the organization because that's the number 123 and four player. That you have to make sure it's happy going forward. Look, I I know absolutely nothing about Luca. Except I watch him and think. I've never seen anything really like that before a point guard that's kind of built like my mechanic, but also oh, but I feel like at any point during the game might sneak off to smoke a pack of cigarettes during the game, but yet is unstoppable in a lot of ways. But he also seems to me to be pretty temperamental, and I think it's going to be interesting to see how you navigate that. You know, the when you hear about there was there was all this talk about? Well, they're going to bring in poor Zynga's and that's going to really work, which I always I've never understood our American sensibilities that we think two people that are both not from America that they'll certainly get along like the rest of the world is just The rest of the world is just so happy with each other that you just have one foreign player you put in another one. Well, they'll get along, You know, I mean, but apparently that hasn't really happened. I do wonder, though, if you give him that amount of sort of power if he's a temperamental sort, anyway, how does that work? That's something for Mark Cuban to to figure out But I think that's just the way the league is. When you have those rumors about your star, not necessarily being content with what's happened in your organization. You go all in and and you figure it out. And here's the other thing, Matt This generation of stars. They understand that they have that power. They have watched players walk out of Supermax contracts James Harden going into last year was never going to get traded. There's no way it's going to work. He makes too much money. Who would ever do that? And then you know what happened. That's got them, right. So I think young players in this league are seeing that map. They're going. You can sign me to whatever you want to sign me, too. But I have the control and the power. That's why you got to Give Luke at least the sense that he has some say and what kind of happens next, But you're right. There's a line between that and making him essentially the GM who gets to decide everything in Two of the people that made that sort of move possible, and it's prime time. Matt Jones Meyer Metcalf, where players control sort of the movement are the guys with the Clippers with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George, who both sort of orchestrated their moves to play with each other..

What shows that you watched what succeeded. What's fallen, what's resurgent what's having a recover resurgence? And What is shocking us today, and here's what shocking us. One of the headlines from Variety is this Curse of Oak Island. No, No, Hmm. Curse of Oak Island, was mentioned as one of the big winners of the 2021 television. Syriza's Listen what they wrote. You guys face it. You're gonna have to watch it eventually and then start talking about it. Mean, you watch all this other crap You don't write. You have to watch this. The best thing about it for me is the history aspect. I'm learning a lot about history that I didn't know. But then you know if I was gonna divide it up, I'd say it's 50% interesting in the body of history and then 50% just really, really irritating and I just want to grab somebody and shake him. I say this because this is shocking to me as someone I was a nerd kid that kept you know when when other kids were collecting baseball cards and baseball stats. I could tell you what network shows were number 123 and four. Then you know in the eighties and nineties anyway, that I was treading ghost stories and making my own Weegee boards. The fact that a network show was considered a hit with 2.6 million viewers in that demo is shocking. It is honestly because we all you know there are few shocking hanging on still. Network shows that do really well. Here's Here's also what shocked me. No wonder it's been renewed for its 80th year. Grey's Anatomy is tied for number six. With 2.5 million viewers. Is that shock that shocks me? Just been on the air like 20 years? Hasn't it premiered in 2004? Wow. Yeah. Now let me go to total viewers. That's everybody. "Difference. 123456. I'm trying to log in the computer on and I only know my password. 123456. That's clever. Yeah, but Tim Conway Jr show weeknights its eggs. It was exceeded in cleverness by actually saying it on the air on K F. I I don't think the guy I'm sorry. Guys die tonight. Turbulence. Pizza guy. He's got a whole morning crew. Friday morning. February 15th. Tomorrow is a handle on the law. Also, Niels a. Vedran, the fork report 2 to 5 p.m., and no doubt Neil is going to be talking about I'm guessing now, Neil the Super Bowl on Sunday? Yeah, when some foods but also its National Pizza Day on Monday. So we're going to be talking about pizza throughout the day as well. Which ties in? Of course to Super Bowl? Yeah. You remember when we you were here in those days? Years ago here on Ko Phi and I was doing weekends, We would have a pizza tasting contest. We will you ask any pizza place within five miles radius. We were going to grade the pizza. So just bring us some pizza and people would come and we would have stacks and everybody got a good grade. Uh, this is delicious. Yes, is good. Theo old radio days when we would just say Bring us food on the air. And like we had boxes stacked up. And those were the days Yeah. Like some of this stuff, Those were that it's basically that's basically the fork report but basically made a show out of that. Bring me food. Yeah, Let's talk about your food every time I listen, the fork report which I do alive, uh, you're eating something. Yes, it's what I do. And I know it's get people excited about food. I'm excited about food. You know you were talking about this earlier about Super Bowl is I will tell you if you go and you look up Super Bowl today, you Google it You're going to see justice been, if not more stories about food. Then you are about the actual game. Yeah, Bad. So what are they tradition, guacamole and chips. What are number 123 Potato skins, a spinach artichoke dip, which is very popular in California and Nebraska, New York. Um Deviled eggs is a great one. And you know what I will tell you. Deviled eggs are very simple to make. Use a little bit of mayo, little mustard, salt and pepper and you mix it up with the yolks, right? Put in a tiny bit of Maple syrup in there and some bourbon. Top it off with some bacon. Oh, it's very good. You can customize all these things. Jalapeno poppers pulled pork pizza, obviously, um, you know, Okay. Sweets, cakes, cookies, pigs in the blanket. Wings. These air all You know the standards that people love not show since one of things there's ah, friend of mine does this and I thought it was just an extraordinary idea. And that's making pizzas. Make your own pizza. But on your grill on the barbecue. Yeah. Where you simply you? Are they doing it directly on the grill directly on the grill where it's so here's the method with that that people have to keep in mind. You take the dough, you oil the great You put the dough on there with blank with nothing on it, but the dough on there Once it gets the grill marks you flip it over and then you put the toppings on quickly, and you shut it, and it will melt off. The top, and that way the dough will be cooked. If you're using ingredients that need to cook like sausage cooked them before. If you need anything to break down, like, you know, like, I don't know if you're gonna be putting Bell peppers or some like that on there, then you want to break him down before sauteing little bit, but it comes out with a lovely smoky Slightly charred, very easy to do, and you could do group and you could do a lot more because you're you're limited in your oven, obviously, and it cares very fast on the grill because your girl's gonna get a lot of hunter than your oven. Probably. Yeah, oven. Even you know my oven. I was thrilled because we got a new oven. Gosh, within the last year or so. And it goes the oven goes up to 5 50 most of it home ovens. Don't they go up to 500 which is usually on broil s O. It really makes a difference When you're making a pizza now on a grill, you get a grill up to 7 800 degrees Easy peasy so you can get all that. Chart of puff the dough all of those things. Another simple thing is doing your flatbread pizzas. There's a lot of stone fires a company that makes them Um, you confined naan bread? Um, uh, East Indian naan bread. You confined, uh, different types of kind of partially cooked dough breads like that. And they turn out wonderful Joey Little crunchy. Bake him off in the oven about 3 50. Maybe turning on, you know, for about 78 minutes, then put it on broil for about a minute or two. And you can get a nice crispy yet doughy in the center. Simple if you can't find a pizza place, or you want to be able to pop him out there at the house. He had those crates second and on. Really, They're so good. What are you doing on? I always ask these questions. We end the show. What are you doing? If anything for Super Bowl Sunday food wise? Yeah, we'll probably have it on here at the house. But we're not. You know, we're not doing anything. We're not having anybody over. We're having some work done the backyard so the it's hard for me to get to the outdoor kitchen, so I'll probably do stuff inside. Uh, pizza is something I've been working on pan pizzas here in the oven is something I've been working on. I will probably do a artichoke. And spinach dip, which is really, really great. I love to take you get a nice bed Get you cut it on the bias, make little cuts. They're just brush it with a little bit of all of oil and Cut a garlic clove and rub that on that, and then put that in under, broil a couple minutes and before right before we leave little Max is he developed a taste for food like you have become a little gourmet. No, but you know what? When I was young there, I had a very simple palate and it's Grown he. There are certain things he loves. Smells like you're coming ago that smells delicious. Or that smells tasty, but he still if it's got textures, kids tend to be weirded out by textures and certain off colors like if if he sees a little black specks of pepper, he goes one of those If it has nooks and crannies or shadows that he doesn't understand. He goes, what's in there and I go, nothing. That's just that's just a little hole Hill go. No, so it's interesting to see what things turn him off..

"Doyle. And there is no Jeff Tyminski today. I know things are supposed to be back to normal. They're supposed be back to normal yesterday. After all the vacation time after the holidays was Monday, January 4th. Everything returns to normal, except it didn't return to normal. Kaminski and Doyle show. Jeff Kaminski is out again yet today as he was yesterday, he's under the weather. He does not have cove in 19. He does not. It is not covered, but he is sick. So he isn't here. I wasn't here yesterday. Well, first I'll have to introduce my co host since just not here. Ladies and gentleman, Joe Vote Trueba. Hello. Hey, Joe. How are you? Happy New year. Belated lack. Thank you. All right now. The reason I was in here yesterday dovetails into what we want to talk about. For this first hour. It's not a happy topic on one of those fun, lighthearted devil may care topics that I enjoy so much. This is more of a serious topic. Yes, I was not here yesterday because I wanted to spend time with my wife. Why did I spend time with my wife Because her father died over the weekend. So she was pretty upset about that. And my father in law was a great guy. He Woz, a radio junkie. Absolutely loved radio. Absolutely. When Jeff and I worked in the 90 used to listen online when it was first available to listen on the Internet, and he's used to email me every day about the topics we did, but he got so hooked on it. After Jeff and I left, he kept doing it to our replacements. Oh, no. What's got in case he came in case of, Bartholomew said. You know your father in law's emails, May I said I could for you. That is dedication. Yeah, And he was a big fan of that. He lived in ST Louis. He was a big fan of the stations there on. He was just a great guy and he died, You know, basically Old age wasn't covert, either. He had not been doing well. It had a serious of setbacks and had pneumonia. And then he had taken a fall, and it just Everything called up here, so it's stage four lung cancer. And everything just kind of caught up with him. And so he passed on. We found out Saturday night. So that's why I took off yesterday to be with my wife. But I'm back today and some of the arrangements for My father's My father in law's memorial are up in the air. Now there's covert, obviously restrictions everywhere, including where my in laws live in ST Louis. And having a memorial service is problematic. To make it even worse. My sister in law, the eldest of the Children who has the power of attorney in his would run point on all this kind of stuff. She has a nasty case of covert herself. She's in quarantine, but they talked to the church and They decided that what they're going to do is have my father was cremated this week. Okay? And then my mother in law was still around. You will take the ashes home and then in the spring sometime, hopefully by march. We'll have some sort of memorial service will go home for that, or go there for that, Um But until then, nothing because of the pandemic, which is what I wanted to talk about. If you had a funeral, you've had a loved one pass. During. Well, jeez past 10 months. What did you do about it? Did you have Ah, typical funeral. Did you have to have a memorial service? That was different in some form where people had Tonto, You know that just breaks my heart. Our phone numbers 123 1 on 1.5. Radio station is near to cemeteries and for a while during the pandemic. Sometimes I'll be driving to work and you would see a line of cars on the road and then people of defense and that was just heartbreaking. Yes, and they would have the graveside service. Not the actual great, but I don't think they do anyway. But they had at the graveside service very close to the front gates so people could see from the fence. But that's what people were having to do with the restrictions that were put on on gatherings and though they've loosened them, especially for funerals. But they still have the sterile restrictions in place. Fleming how how many people can go and the CDC guidelines on funerals. You know it Z about what you would expect. Maintain social distancing If you don't have to have the service in person don't do things remotely have zoom calls. Have memorial service is virtually that kind of thing. Which good luck telling the families that, you know, and it's such a sad substitute, and I realized the necessity of this. I'm not denying it, but just sad because these are things that are gonna be duplicated. I mean, because these people are never gonna have another funeral. Gonna have never gonna have another memorial services. This is when they die as the people morning. These losses. I mean, you almost have to kind of feel guilty that even even if it is out of your control, like party has to be like man like this is all we could do for you, even though like it's all that we can do for you. And I don't know if this is the right word. That's kind of anticlimactic. It is so we knew that my father loved was not doing well. We didn't know if obviously never know the day nor the hour but We knew that was probably gonna happen within the next six months. It was likely so then, when it did happen is like OK, well, now it's time to spook spring into action. Let's put those reservations make the flight reservation to get a hotel. Make the arrangements to go visit for the memorial for the funeral, and none of that's gonna happen. I mean, I was all poised and ready to go on Sunday to start doing things that my wife said No. I have to talk to the church. They're not going to do anything. And for a couple of months if then, and they will have a memorial service, and until then her dad's gonna be cremated and the ashes just setting on the mantel at home. So I mean, I know it's not all about me, but for everybody who would want to mourn him. There is a scent of sense of anti climax where the things you would normally do at a time like this. A lot of them. You just can't do so if if that's been you over the past few months if you had to bury a loved one or try to what is that funeral been like for you, 100 to 831 on 1.5. I know everybody looks back to 2020 years as the terrible year, but it's spreading into 2021 now and it's still governing how we can observe rites and rituals. Whether they be weddings, whether they be funerals 1 802 831 of 1.5. And I looked up the CDC guidelines just just to see what they had to say about it. They talk about grief being normal, But I'm just paraphrasing this grief is normal. But you have to accept the fact you have to do things a little differently now that you can't have The typical funeral arrangements as you might. They do say that use technology to connect virtually with family and friends during the grieving process, so you can still grieve. You could still interact with loved ones. Just don't do it in person. Yeah. Um Modifications to rites and rituals. Avoid touching the deceased person's body. Your personal belongings, ceremonial objects, all that kind of stuff. But see those those of the recommendations if you actually can't have a service I mean, for a lot of people..

"2020. Finally, in our rear view mirror. We chatted with CBS news business analyst Dill Schlessinger about how we can begin in 2021 to rebuild our finances. After such a terrible year, we get the Fidelity Investment survey of Financial resolutions every year for about the last 12 years or so. I've never seen a number this high in the survey. You know, it's pretty much every survey says. I want to save more want to pay down debt. I want to spend less. But you know for this survey for 2020 for our resolutions of 2021 30% of respondents said they're going to be in survival mode of 2020 in 2021. I think that that is A bunch of people who were sidelined from the from the labor market, but also people who have jobs and her just feeling nervous. So I think that we're all got a big case of the jitters. For our health for a financial Well being those converged last year and hopefully they will dissipate throughout 2021. That would be nice. Now prior to pandemic you advocated guidelines called the Big Three. What one is this again? And should we try and get back to that now in 2021? Well, I think the Big three are always important. The first of the Big Three is to fund an emergency reserve fund that can cover 6 to 12 months of your living expenses. And I know that seems like a lot. But I think another lesson of 2020 is that many of us learned that the things we thought were sort of like, Oh, we have to. They're not our have to use their the want to, you know, the have to is I've got a free feed Me and my family. I've got to pay my rent. Beyond that. There's not so many things that you have to do so we want people to have that. That safety net of 6 to 12 months of their living expenses. Number two is to reduce credit card or other high interest debt and number three is to fund a retirement plan to the best of your ability. Now I'll tell you my lesson, and that is that I've been doing this for decades now. And I used to sort of spread those big three and say, Well, if he had 30 bucks, I do 10 bucks for each of the Big three. Now I'm much more focused on the emergency reserve. Funny. I really heard from countless numbers. A number of listeners who were really freaked out. And the ones that had an emergency Reserve fund just were able to kind of get through the crisis in a much more reasonable way, without doing something that would Basically screw up their financial futures. So again that emergency reserve fund that sort of number 123, and then you have the others behind it. All right. What about updates to wills and drafting healthcare proxies? Is that something we should be looking at in the new year? Well, I mean, I don't know if this if this position is taken in the new government, but I am the nudge in chief right now. Okay? And so I know that throughout last year I came on your air quite a bit, and I talked about the things we had to do. And I always talk about a state planning. I think after last year, many more people are much more attuned to this. And so let me be clear that having a will having a power of attorney having a health care.
