Project Veritas' James O'Keefe Describes the Moment the FBI Raided His Home

"James O'Keeffe. How you doing, man? Great to be with you. I mentioned you quite often on our show. Thank you. I don't think you want to be as mentioned as much as I mentioned, though. Because I'm mentioning you for things I think you want to be mentioned for, even though you did nothing wrong. That's right. So we have a lot to talk about and I'm curious about. So let's start with kind of just this recent development, FBI shows up on Friday night to your journalist homes. Saturday morning to your home is that right? They show up on Thursday, November 3rd, to our reporter homes and then on Saturday morning at 6 a.m. to my apartment. And what were they looking for? Well, they had a search warrant for my cell phone. A magistrate judge had signed a search warrant. And they were looking for the phone that I had only the cell phones. Nothing more. And they came to my home at 6 a.m. I sort of came to at 6 a.m. I heard I heard it a very heavy pounding knock and at my first thought was I just sort of not very much of a morning person, but it occurred to me okay the authorities must be at my door. And the first thought that occurred to me was how long have they been pounding on my door before they break it down? Because they give you a courtesy knock and then they're going to use the battering ram. So I sort of ran through the apartment to my front door. It's pitch black. And then I go to open the door and then I sort of think, well, this is kind of a dangerous, scary moment, because if I swing the door open, are they going to shoot me? I don't know what's going on. So I opened the door and there's ten, ten or 12, federal agents in blue, jackets, with big white lights, kind of the ones that are shining on me, so I can't really see them fully. They're shining the lights. There's white lights. They're shining white lights in my face. My colleague Spencer told me that he looked through the keyhole and they cover up the keyhole, so you can't even see who it actually

Virginia Is Proof Why Americans Don't Want CRT

"You. Let me ask congressman Gallagher to put on your PhD hadn't be doctor Gallagher for a moment and consider whether or not an Elaine luria understands why critical race theory is such a toxic issue. And respond if you will to the charge, it's not, I heard that on TV last night and I listened to about 5 seconds of TV. We were doing the Nixon seminar. We'll come to that in a second. And I heard a very respected commentator. It's like the Democrat trope. It's not hot in the Virginia schools. That misses the point, there is no curriculum marked CRT, but they're closing Thomas Jefferson high school to merit admissions on the basis of equity. That's CRT. Yeah, and then it's just empirically true that there is a an explosion of diversity equity and inclusion programs. Within a variety of government institutions, including the military, secretary Austin, his first week on the job, created certain positions with that in mind order to 60 day stand down in order to address extremism in the ranks, even though no one at The Pentagon can define extremism. And so it is not a made up issue. It's a real issue. I hear about it every single day in northeast Wisconsin. And I think it's bound up in this broader woke ethos that the modern Democratic Party is pushing so much of what we hear from the Democratic Party is based entirely on intersectional identity politics. And I think what we saw in Virginia is that Americans views. I mean, just average Americans, center left center right in Democrats Republicans, their views on race are normal. They don't conform to the radical intersectional identity politics stuff, the Democrats are pushing. People want to get along, they don't like racial essentializing. They really don't like it in the classroom, and they don't think the cops and the society writ large are racist. I think that's obvious from what we saw in Virginia and as for swing district Democrats, if they were inclined to think that this was just a fake issue before, I think the results in Virginia should tell them that the American people don't want CRT, they don't want the cottage industry of DEI commentators, and it's so far out of step with the mainstream that it's turning off a lot of independent voters.

Rough Night for Democrats Exposes the Party's Weakness

"Obviously, Democrats are still trying to pass crippling regulations a ridiculous amount of red ink, but they got punched in the face last night. That was a political punch in the face. What does it do to them on the hill, Alfredo Ortiz? How can job creators network dot com help? Yeah, absolutely. Well, this was definitely a referendum on Biden as well, which is I think why the Democrats today are going to be really changing their tune. I think they're going to start changing their playbook, because all that radical woke ism ideas, I think they're going to start seeing that this is not what America wants. They didn't have a mandate to do that. And yesterday clearly, I think, will show that I mean, my gosh, look at New Jersey. I mean, I don't know if they'll pull it off if the GOP pulls that off. But even as close as it is, I don't know about you if you didn't see that one coming, but that just shows you how bad things are. Virginia, though, we're so excited about that. A clear sweep, and when you think about the not only for junkin, but then you've got the first African American black woman that actually is in a leadership role as well as a Cuban, which is amazing. So sweeping all three. I mean, this was a clear sign to the Democrats that those policies that located mentality is not what America want.

"Let's switch back to Friday for a minute. Time to party. Very consistent. What's your impressions? Yeah, he's a cool little horse. We bought him for not a lot of money at OBS. I don't know 50 70. I can't remember. And he he tries really hard. He's got a lot of ability and we ran a good second to one timer who I think is the second or third choice in the race and we were kind of gaining on him. And he won broke his maiden here at del mar in the summer. So I think it's a very tough race and everything is going to have to fall into place, especially from the ten hole. We're going to have to get the right trip and everything is going to have to fall fall the right way. But I think he certainly belongs in the race and he's doing very well. Speaking with trainer Pete Miller, who sends out 5 runners in this year's breeders cup, before we let you go, you mentioned that flavian Pratt is the regular writer of mo for. So he also was going to ride time to party. When you have somebody like Pratt who's written so much for you and is written these horses many times, are you still game planning or do you trust that he knows exactly where these horses need to be? A little bit about, you know, I definitely trust that he knows what to do and where to be because he's extremely well prepared and reads the racing form very well. But at the same time, I don't want to just leave that to chance. So I definitely let him know what I see. And after that, you could just kind of say how the race looks to. How it looks to come up, but once the gates open, it's really on the jocks to work it work it out from there. So we'll just game plan a little bit. Who's the speed? Where we're likely to be placed. And then I'll leave it up to him. We really appreciate you taking the time this morning to join us not only do you have the breeders cup coming up in just a few days, but of course opening day at del mar and I know that's always a big day in the Miller household and we wish you the best not only this weekend, but throughout the delmar meat and in the next year, thanks for joining us on the breeders cup countdown. It's my pleasure guys and have a great breeder's cup. All right, you two, my friend, Peter Miller, trainer of several breeders cup runners this year in the world championships. He's got time to party going into juvenile sprint on Friday. Then four runners on Saturday highlighted by CZ rocket and the sprint and mo Forza in the mile four is probably going to be one of the favorites in that race. I think he's the second choice on the morning line to the Euro space blues who's been ultra impressive across the pond and but mo for's has a little bit of a home court advantage, Jude. He loves it here at del mar and when he's good. He's very good. And del mar is one of those courses where if you have an affinity for it, it really helps. Now he's just got to get the right trip. You know, you do everything you can in the morning with these horses and you get them well prepared and game plan with the riders and then you just have to hope things fall into place. Yeah. Well, that's it. Racing luck. It's number one. Yeah, it's a very common term. It's more important than it's amazing how we take for granted how hard it is to get the horses the trips that they need to have to have the best chance of winning. Yeah, well, we were talking with sheree. Everything matters. I mean, it just never ends. You have to check every box, and then you have to get lucky. Not only do you have to be well prepared, but you have to get lucky. That's why it's so hard. That's why our game is so great because you can't just do the work and get paid for it. You have to get lucky. And let's face it, these are big fields, not everyone's going to get the trip that they're hoping for. In these races, there's going to be a lot of sad faces. I was mentioned one time about a trip that I had in the turf race that seemed to me and Charlie with EM said. Son. You're going to have a lot of bad trips on the turf. Don't worry about it. Just go have dinner and come out the next morning. And he was right. I mean, I learned it was such a great lesson for me to not let it affect your day. Because it's going to happen all the time. Turf racing is tricky. And you can't get too upset if you have a bad trip. Well, take another break. Come back more here in the breeders cup countdown. "Saddle. No. Let it go. You know chuck he'll never let it go. Well, why don't we talk to chuck about the very first job was for my father on the racetrack as a standard Brett and I was two years old. So now he's like an old fart. I don't believe it or not, and this is not about when chuck was in college. He was a tall, skinny, athletic guy. He does not. He's still taught. I'm so far. He's still a guy. The other parts of kind of as kind of with all of us, they've gone different direction as we've gotten older. He's a great guy. Yeah. He's and he has nothing but good things to say and he wouldn't text that to me if he wasn't there. What did that dorm room look like? I can tell you that I put a one iron through the wall after the trailblazers did not cover when Kevin Duckworth and Clyde drexel couldn't hit free throws in the late game one. I figured out that. Yeah. No, no, not at all. Should we really appreciate you taking the time and point to Robbie's look great these last few mornings seen here on in the race track. Hope she gets out of the gate well on Friday. And you never know. I mean, she's only raced twice. There's no reason she can't continue to improve and she really wasn't that far behind echo Zulu last time out. No, and it looks on paper. She is very ratable. She's very easy to ride both in the mornings and in the races. So if she happens to get out of the gate a step slow, there's gonna be plenty of on paper that appears to be plenty of pace for her to run into. Yeah, we race sets up good for her. I like her. I think she's got a good chance. Torabi, postposition number four in the breeders cup juvenile Philly's this Friday here at del mar goes as the 7th race on the Friday card trainer should read, sending out to Robbie, it's her first breeders cup starter on her own as a trainer and she's winning races and bunches clicking at about a 20% clip overall. So best of luck Friday and look forward to senior horses run all winter. Thank you so much. Thanks so much. Joining us on the breeders cup countdown. We're going to take a break when we come back. We will speak with another trainer who's involved in the breeders cup this weekend. Peter Miller, he's going to send out 5 runners in the breeders cup races and he's also excited about racing returning to del mar because his horses love it here where the turf meets the surf. Virginia's Suzanne Youngkin Is Glenn's Secret Weapon

"Virginia is not going the way of California. It did not fall off the blue cliff. Last night is turnout surged across the Commonwealth. I was texting with friends in my old state of California saying please, please please don't become California. And in fact, Lennon, embraced a new model. Be competent, be courageous. Big candid with voters. Be calm. Most of all, be a constitutional conservative. Glenn junkin was and he won. Suzanne junkin is his little known but very effective weapon. I met susanne at my early voting polling place when I went weeks before the election to vote and she was out there working the polls. Here she is last night Suzanne young and the new First Lady elect of Virginia. I love you, like, look at all these women. You all were amazing. Incredible. Incredible. It has been the highest honor to spend these last months, traveling around this Commonwealth. And meeting virginians. You welcomed me in your homes, you welcomed me in your parks, you welcomed me in your houses of worship, you were the most kind hospitable industrious, dedicated, wise, thinking, caring and beautiful people to me and I am forever grateful. I do want to give a shout out to the more than 27 thousand women. That were part of women for Glenn. Incredible. Incredible. You inspired me and sustained me and you girls rock.

"You may not know when some is the first African American woman elected to statewide office in the Commonwealth of Virginia. She was running alongside of Glenn young, and I just want to begin with her because MSNBC didn't carry her speech last night, and it's a fine speech and you should have heard it cut 26. All right, settle down, settle down. I am at a loss for words for the first time in my life. You know. I love you too. I am here. Yes. Record. Motivated dedicated. So. I'm here because of you. I'm here because you voted for me. I'm here because you put your trust in me. That's the only reason I'm here. Thank you. Thank you. That my speech. Want to introduce to you, my husband, Terrence. He's another marine. My daughter, kancha. And my other daughter, Janelle. I'm telling you that what you are looking at is the American dream. The American dream. When my father came to this country, August 11th of 1963, he came at the height of a civil rights movement from Jamaica. He came, and I said to him, but it was such a bad time for us. "By the way, she dares she dares the devil now walking out in front of us, one of the Brad Cox contingent, and she's going to be a major player in the distal Saturday of a neck bode and looks like she's happy to be here in these cooler conditions at del mar, which you don't usually see in the summertime, but for this fall meet, we get them. Jeff, I know something that's near and dear to your heart as the thoroughbred aftercare alliance. Tell us what's going on. What's your affiliation with them? So I'm on the board, the vice president of the TAA and we're excited to once again be the official aftercare partner of the breeders cup. So you're going to see the thoroughbred after Caroline's prominently throughout the breeders cup with a few races that were part involved with sponsoring and presenting. And you'll see booth stationed here during the course of the breeders cup where folks can come and talk to people about what the thoroughbred after Carol Lyons does. And at the end of the day, it's all about looking after the welfare of these beautiful thoroughbred racehorses. And so, you know, it's become the responsibility of all stakeholders in the industry, recognizing that when horses are done on the racetrack, they need a safe, viable follow on career. And so with the TAA does, is it handles all of the accreditation? So making sure that these facilities that we have throughout the country can take these horses and put them in a safe haven, both for just retirement and or retraining repurposing these horses. And then raising funds in an equitable fashion so that you can distribute to these facilities and help them make sure that they can do things the right way to look after these sources. So this is the racing showcase event. And so for the TAA to be the partner making all of those aware, it's a great opportunity. Is there a pledge deal with breeders capital where people could donate part of the purse or that kind of thing? Absolutely. You know, as I mentioned, you know, it's both accreditation and raising funds. So you can certainly visit the thoroughbred after a Cara alliance website and also get information here on track and at any time that we've had a participants running in the breeders cup that have generously pledged portions of their earnings to the TAA, which of course then gets distributed out to these organizations. So it's a great opportunity to take advantage of that. Is this something where the TAA goes out to owners and trainers and continually provides information reminder let's face it, not all of these horses are going to go on to be stallions or brood mares. Where you're going to owners or there is information very easily available to owners and trainers out there. They know that, hey, when this $20,000 climbers is done racing, we have a spot for. Well, the good news is racetracks have become great partners of the whole issue of after care. And so like, for instance, here in California, you have karma, who is one of the bigger organizations. Helping us afford that opportunity for after care and working with various farms and facilities that do this. So yes, it's all about communication and connecting the dots for people to make sure that they know that there's an avenue. There's a resource out there available to them so that they can position place horses. And so we're constantly trying to get the word out and making folks aware with the TAA sort of sitting as an umbrella organization to help with all of that facilitating that process across the board. Go ahead. It's not easy to do that. I mean, there's a lot of people involved and you have to make sure that everybody's on the same page as far as what we're going to do with this horse. The horse can do as far as athletically if somebody wants to use it for a show horse or whatever somebody wants to use a horse for a lawn ornament. I mean, I used to find spots for my old horses all the time before this was even popular. Sure. 40 years ago. I had a horse that was park ranger horse at Yosemite. Weddings and bar mitzvahs. I had a lady wanna do a lawn ornament horse, like she didn't know anything about horses, but she went to a class to learn how to take care of them, and a lawn ornament horse. Wait. What? I trained a horse mask for Vic Tayback called hanto, right? He won here at del mar. And he pulled the suspensory and he wasn't going to be able to be used as a writing horse. But he was a beautiful chestnut horse, big, strong horse. And she was looking for a horse to put in her front yard. She had bought a little farm at somewhere. So hanto had this great life. He had this lady that fed him carrots and took him outside for walks and stuff. Until found a beautiful home. He found a beautiful home, right? But you're right about that, dude. You know, not all horses come off the race track the same way. Some have sound issues, some have various, whatever issues. And so there are numerous facilities. And some places, their primary job or objective is they just they're a sanctuary for a horse that maybe can't necessarily be retrained or be used for a jumping horse or a show horse. So it does require a lot of money and it requires a lot of due diligence on the part of making sure that we could talk for hours about how much went into accrediting and making sure that there's a very detailed thorough process in checklist of requirements that go into becoming an accredited facility. And so the TAA oversees all of that process. And we have some wonderful organizations north of 80 throughout the country that are helping with all of this. And we're constantly looking for more facilities and again, at the end of the day, all of us who enjoy and are involved with the wonderful word of horse racing. It's our responsibility because it is in the end all about the racehorse. Jeff really appreciate you taking the time this morning, not only did we get to talk about snapper Sinclair and the thoroughbred aftercare alliance and talk about Kentucky down, you got to hear the word the name Vic Tayback. If you stick around for the next segment, we'll talk about Linda Lavin and Polly holiday. And the rest of the cast of Alice. What about manics? "Got the better of his faux EZ go or Sunday silence, of course, beat him in the Derby, the Preakness and the breeders cup classic, easy, go or turn the tables on his home course at Belmont park, due to this day, there are still folks who argue that easygoing was better than Sunday silence. That may be true, but three out of four times it wasn't. Yeah, well, that's absolutely correct. And, you know, Sunday silence want to have a tremendous stalling career in Japan. He was a tremendous source. I was able to see him a lot in the trainer in California. So it was nice hanging out with Charlie and watching him train and he could really run. Welcome back to the breeders cup countdown presented by hill and Dale farms Bobby Newman and Jude fell live from the grandstand at the beautiful del mar thoroughbred club. We are directly between the 16th hole and the wire, seeing a lot of the breeders cup hopefuls on the track. And pleased to be joined right now by Isabella Leslie from America's best racing. They've got their big fan choice awards coming up soon Isabella, thanks for joining us. Thank you, Bobby, yes, we're pleased to be here. So for those folks out there that are not as familiar with America's best racing as others, tell us a little bit about what America's best racing does and about the website. So America's best racing is really fan base. So our goal is to get new people entering and then continue them on throughout their racing journey and being able to learn and have access to tons of information. So as we all know, horse racing is a great sport for anyone young or you can come in. It's a lot of fun, there's fashion. There's good betting, good food, good horses, all kinds of entertainment. So our, you know, our goal is to get people involved to teach them about racing, whether you've never been to the track, you should be able to access information that we put out there and it should be able to help you understand what's going on. The race is even if you've never been before never seen a race, nothing like that. So we have really cool content on our website, you know, taking people from step one and showing them all the different things that are involved in the racing industry. Yeah it's really helpful to people that don't have much exposure to the track or living states where there isn't much racing. Exactly. It's a really cool concept. In the old days it was just like you had to have somebody that went to the track to take you out your dad, your uncle, your aunt, your grandma, whoever it was that liked horses and that was the only way to get exposed to racing. For sure. But now with America's best racing on Twitter all the time and the ads on television stuff, people have a chance to actually see what a day the race is like. And chances are they're going to say, wow, that looks like fun. And that's our goal, you know, I think a lot of people just see the Derby and they think that's the big event and there's nothing else going on, and really there's so many other big things going on. So we try to educate people and show them where they can go and what to do and stuff like that. Do you have any mentor programs or anything like that? We do not have a mentorship program. There is one out there that just started through someone we work with so called amplifier saying they're just, you know, we try to help each other out. But there's a lot of content on our website for people that don't know, you know, have no for education and racing or really don't know anything to be able to go on there and find places where they can get you know if they want to get plugged in career wise, but we have a great learning base with goes down, explains terms of what you'd hear on the track about you know different saddles, bridles or even certain type of races from allowance to claiming. And then we also have things on there about betting the different types of bets from trifecta exact, you know, all the different pools and stuff like that. So there's a lot of information on there for people to learn. The website is America's best racing dot net. I'm looking at it right now. And there's great stories on the website as well. It's not simply information on getting people involved in racing. I mean, there's stories. There's breeders got stories. I'm looking at a story right now about the great mayor tepin, who was trained by Mark cassi that won the breeders cup mile back in 2015. So stories about what's going on these days, stories about maybe what's happened in the past. It really, very informational and very easy to navigate. Another thing you guys have going though, in fact, something really exciting coming up is your fan choice awards. Tell us a little about that when they are and how people can watch them. What this involves. Absolutely. So we believe you know racing is really important for the fans. So we created these awards to kind of give the fans a voice and all of this. So we have 11 different categories this year in voting starts next Thursday, November 11th. And so basically you can go on to our website. We'll have links on our all of our social media channels that get you right there. And you can vote for each category and we have categories such as favorite jockey, favorite race call, TV personality, racetrack food, stuff like that. We also brought in three new categories this year, which are the legends, all time favorite Philly, so you were touching on stories that we have on our website and we have a part of the website is called has a legends feature and that has all kinds of stories about horses from the past and kind of brings those back to life. So that's where we were going with this legend's favorite Philly category. We also have a small mid race circuit race track category this year as well. And then we have a favorite bit category, which is quite interesting..

"november 3rd" Discussed on The Horse Racing Radio Network Podcast

"Vale farms Bobby Dylan alongside my co host. We are staring directly at the racetrack here at the beautiful delmar thoroughbred club. You can't see a lot of sky right now, Jude, as it's the typical morning fog and overcast that we get here in Southern California this time of year. Temperature right now. Somewhere around the high 50s, maybe 60°, but going to be great weather when we get to breeders cut Friday and Saturday probably closer to 70 both of those days. Yeah, it'll be nicer this afternoon too, about one o'clock the inversion layer wears off and everybody will be out on their surfboards and all that jazz. So it'll be fun. We are actually sitting directly facing the racetrack here at del mar a bright smack between the 16th pole and the finish line, which is a great spot to see a lot of the breeders cup entrance go by and getting their final prep. And we're not going to see horses working out, although we did see one yesterday with classic hopeful stiletto boy, actually going 52 in one breezing for furlongs, which is pretty rare for this close to race day. But most of the other ones we're seeing them just kind of stretching their legs. We'll see a lot of them going past us underneath the tunnel through the grandstand to the paddock area to school there. Love to get to see these European shippers and their processions come out. We've actually seen several of the Euro stretching their legs on the turf course this morning. Yeah, that was cool. There was a couple of horses that were galloping down on the temporary rail and the rider came through. Breezing, but galloping pretty fast and yelled to get them out of the way and they moved over and a Daria. She looked fantastic this morning galloping. Did you see her? She was a strong gallop this morning and of course last year's breeders cup filly and turf champ. What I think they're instructed to do on the turf course is pretty much stay as close to the outer rail as they can be. They've got cones set up pretty much halfway out the turf course. So they're not letting anyone really gallop down on the inside. Of course, today is actually opening day at del mar. So they will be racing on the inside I believe they have turf races scheduled these next two days as well. So they've got where the breeders cup will be run, which is way down on the inside. They're not going to be working. I don't even think they're going to be racing. They'll probably have the rail out a little bit for these first two days. But the workers they stay close to the cones if somebody is really galloping strongly. But the ones who were just kind of stretching their legs, I think they're instructed to stay on the outer rail. Yeah, they are. That's the way it usually is. But for a lot of these European writers, they come in here, they're not used to having that restraint their galloping horses and fields and, you know, not necessarily the way we do things here. So it's tough plus the horses are going the other way. They're going left hand instead of writing and it's tough for some. We actually, they just had a little bit of a renovation break and now the renovation is done and we can see a big gathering of horses coming onto the racetrack. The barn area here at del mar is directly on the other side of the racetrack. So the horses will come on to the track. Somewhere near about the 6 furlong shoot point. And we see a lot of them kind of already backtracking their on the Clubhouse turn on the outer rail and making their way over to us. We just saw a horse working. That was a bob hes coming down the lane there. Right, not a breeder's cup horse. Undercard horse. Like another one here. We see a few, but we see a lot of other horses kind of backtracking. So we'll keep you up to date on what we see as they go bias this morning. We did have some news dude yesterday after our show and it involves the breeders cup filly and mere sprint. It was a race that was only a field of 6 to begin with because gamine seemingly scared everybody away, but now it's down to a field of 5 as long shot hopeful as still a talent also was scratched out of the race. Apparently a problem with her right foreleg. Yeah, they said she came up a little off and, you know, that's unfortunate, especially this week. You certainly don't want anything to go wrong if you're a trainer and owner, but you know, got to take care of the horse, so she's out. That's good. So now the breeders have Philly and they're sprint which is actually the first of the Saturday breeders cup races is down to a field of 5. By the way, interesting to note right now, hot rod Charlie has just come onto the track he's in front of us and he's being ponied by lava man. The ageless lava man, they just literally came to right in front of us, turned around and now we're going to start going the correct direction on the track hot rod Charlie's made a good appearance every morning here in Southern California, Tripoli, going to be coming on the track. Here's royal flag in the disk staff, a Chad Brown, hopeful in front of us. My sister Nat is following her. So we're starting to see once again with this second set of in fact, it's probably the third set of workers. A lot of these are the breeders cup runners coming out. Yeah, it's very difficult. You can see on the big screen here to even see some of the horses galloping because of the fog. But the ones that are coming by us, there's Kumari, she's a fast filled boy, she looks like a quarter horse. Kamari coming out in front of us. And we're really have a tremendous vantage point. We need to find out if we can sit here during the break during the races every day. This may be the best seat in the house. Pretty good spot. Right now, back to a steal hotel in toso, though. Even though she was going to be a long shot in affiliate and mayor sprint and probably not a lot of people thought she was going to win. It wasn't like she was running poor races going into that. She was only a few lengths behind the me and the few times she ran against her. She was only three likes behind CC, and these are the major players in the race. So she's not beating those really tough Phillies in marriage, but she's not far behind them and the fact that she's out of the race. Well, it takes a closer out of the race. And it makes it down to a field of 5, and that's important. Even just from a wagering standpoint, remember there are three pick 5s this year in the breeders cup. They have the traditional early pick 5, a traditional late pick vibe, but they have a middle pick 5 as well. And by the way, Kentucky Derby champion Medina Spirit. Now on the track. And wearing the very easy to spot Bob Baffert colors those blue and yellow checks that he's had ever since. He trained quarter horses many, many years ago. Yeah, back in the day for Dutch masters. Dutch masters. I remember a lot of kip diedrich in Bob Baffert duos at Los alamitos as they were trying to chase down Blaine Schwartz and James lackey. That's right. Folks, horse racing's world championships are here. You can bet the breeders cup risk free with TV G that's right new TV G players can get started with a risk free bet up to $300. That means you'll get up to.

"Everything that i was supporting to win. Of course i will be honest. Those were those were the two races that bothered me even more than school board Because i literally would've devastated that community and that that that was just i couldn't i couldn't deal with the thought of as been passing mayor jong gates entering his third term as mayor have chance to have him on this morning he and i were texting last evening right before the results were coming in. I'm like hey john how you feeling. He says little fidgety. Yeah and you. And i talked about it a little bit yesterday to you know. I think i had spoken with the mayor ahead of time. And i think most of us were concerned about a runoff possibility You know in order to win the seat of mayor you have to have fifty percent plus one vote and anytime you have three people running for that seat who all basically comes from the same philosophical belief. You don't know how much of that is going to be split. The only thing that went into that. I wanted out election with last night. Cautiously optimistic was there was no democrats on that on that ballot for the fact that there was no democrats on that ballot and the fact that mayor gates works well with everybody whether they're republicans democrats are not. I was really cautiously optimistic that he would carry that democrat. Vote and i think that's exactly what we saw last night. We saw john not only pull the republican vote but he also pulled the democrat boat. And when i saw his seventy percent it was kind of fame thing. It was like you know We've got we got four more years of somebody with an even personality and even keel and an inability to get along with anybody. Well then i can't agree with you more and it's i mean. He is the hitomi of grace and humility and again this morning talking to him. He's like you know. I never take anything for granted and certainly wasn't going to do it. This go round but was hopeful that you know his actions and his experience would rule the day and indeed. It did yeah. That's very very fortunate. What about those statewide issues. Surprises there when you look at nineteen twenty. You know again. I'm going to say that i'm surprised. I went into the election yesterday. Very worried. about seventy eight one. Twenty and my worries were came to fruition Disappointment is huge. And i said this this morning at the republican breakfast We have got to get away from worrying about whether or not twenty twenty with stolen election. We have got to get away from constantly. Talking about the dominion voting records. We have got to get away from all of that. We if you don't cast a ballot and if you don't pay attention to what's going on. I don't know how many people i heard say. Oh no across the board. Because all they're trying to do. Is you know mess with us. No you can't do that. You can't just vote no across the board because you don't understand it or because you just have no trust in government and you can't not cast a ballot because you are. You convinced that the last election was rigged. If you don't trust a ballot you have absolutely no chance at all of winning. You know whether you think the election was rigged or not Our governor spent billions of dollars in code. Release money where he wanted to spend it. The state legislature had nothing to do with where that money went he walked in and said this is where it's going to go our state ag. He's spent every penny that he gets in lawsuits such as the tobacco lawsuit where he wants to spend it. Our state legislature have no say in that the secretary of state. She's been her fine but her penalties where she wants to spend them. Our state legislature gets no saying that so when all that big money goes into their offices. They spend it the way they want. Seventy eight would have changed. That seventy eight would have put that money where it belongs enough in the general fund and have the legislature appropriate it now our governor our ag and our state and our secretary of state are going to continue to be allowed to spend money. However they want to spend it in very the when it came to the proponents of amendment. Seventy eight now hurt sad that it's tough to pass anything a measure During a you know a normal year election as opposed to an off year election but it seems to me. I mean it was. It was pretty clear. Yeah i don't think it was a messaging problem It there's always a problem getting people to make changes to the constitution. And that was a constitutional amendment change. So that's always an issue because a lot of people don't wanna mess with the constitution. I don't think it was the messaging problem. I think it boils down to what i just said. It was a distrust in government. It was late. I i'm gonna lay it squarely on the republican party. The republican party They they don't trust government right now. They don't trust the election system right now so rather than just go ahead and cast your vote anyway. Jump to make sure that it's casted. They decided not to cast votes and they decided not to pay attention to the election. And that is the shameful part carly said this morning while county. Had a thirty percent turnout in voters. Are you kidding me. Thirty percent dot of shameful. And i can tell you between now and twenty twenty one or twenty twenty three when we have another off year election. If i hear every single person that says anything to me complaining about anything in the twenty twenty one election the first words out of my mouth are going to be. Did you vote if the answer is no. They're not even going to get a response from me. 'cause i'm not going to justify their complaints with anything if they did not vote and i don't care why they vote if you don't vote you don't get you. Don't get a right to complain. Well complacency Doesn't get the job done and falling into that belief system that narrative of the election was hijacked. And everything was rigged. Well i would save. Virginia's stands in stellar sterling. Bright shiny opposition to that as you had a republican elected governor right and and and even at that whereas the new jersey election right now. Last time i looked the new jersey republican was ahead in the republicans ahead in the gubernatorial race in new jersey as well too close to tell. Yeah but even to close to tell you know when the last time love gubernatorial race in new jersey was saying that's like saying that the mayor of boulder is a republican. I mean seriously this is. This is unapproved of that. The new jersey race is that close and that we could actually have is a dead editorial on how people feel in this country right now and on joe biden's policies and you gotta you gotta vote whether you think it's going to be whether you think you're going to be counted or not and guarantee you. It's not going to be counted if you don't cast it better myself. Sharee investigative journalists complete colorado are welded county political insider. Thanks so much for your time. "Nine now on your state colorado's voice one or three one thirteen ten jfk mornings with gail from the auto collisions specialists studios across this piece in the denver. Post just wanted to toss it out there for your consideration it was a piece by alexander. Bernez this as you had governor. Jared polis laying out his plan for a record forty billion with a b. forty billion dollar colorado budget saying on monday that well This is what we need to do. We need this Forty billion dollar budget and fiscal year. Twenty twenty two twenty three by the way which is a four percent increase from this year and yes in case you're keeping track a state record now. The amount of money in the budget is dictated by economic conditions. Not the governor's own politics says alexander bournissen posts. Such growth in next year's budget is possible as a result of the state's faster than expected recovery from the pandemic induced recession of twenty twenty now just last year homeless signed a twenty twenty twenty one budget of only of that. We're only talking billions there but of only thirty billion dollars. The total was later adjusted. Upward comes as no surprise as state analysts were warning of more lean budgets to come but they're dire predictions have not materialized in september new had state economic analysts telling the legislative. Jbc that they project the state legislature will have a fifteen point three billion dollars to spend out of the general fund general fund by the way covers education and health care spending among other arenas for the fiscal year. That ends june thirtieth. That's a seven point. Two percent increase from last fiscal year and the analysts forecast increases of about of four percent of through at least twenty twenty three twenty four budget now. Polish touted his proposed budget for the twenty twenty two twenty three fiscal year as being quote responsive to voter concerns saying it's about tax and fee relief. It's about reducing crime. It's about reducing homelessness. It's about making more housing opportunities affordable for colorado. He sat our whole budget is oriented around meeting. The needs of where people are and helping to solve problems to improve the quality of life in colorado now. The proposal is far from guaranteed to be adopted because the legislature again not us writes the budget. Lawmakers returned to the capital in january and should finalize the twenty two twenty three budgets in early spring. By that time it's possible likely. Even that state economists will have released new forecasts that alter the total amount of money state government can spend so interested in some of the highlights. From the governor's proposal. Here you go. Two billion dollars set aside. In general fund reserves often referred to as rainy day cash for the state an extra one billion dollars. That's an eight percent increase by the way in money available for the legislature to spend out of the general fund and increase in per pupil state funding of five hundred. And twenty six dollars. I would take up to about ninety five hundred dollars a piece at the k. Through twelve level six hundred million dollars in relief money for employers for unemployment insurance payments during the pandemic five hundred and thirty million dollars over three years for dozens of health projects and programs for people served by medicaid four hundred and twenty four Million dollars to address colorado's poor air quality and it has been rather drastically hideous this year including two hundred fifty five million dollars for quotes rapidly. Greening our transportation system. Oh yes and school buses in particular two hundred million dollars in new state funding to support cities in a homeless homelessness crisis. A hundred and seventy five million dollars in new housing investments met largely to spur the development of affordable places for people to live. But we're not done yet. Stay with me. A one hundred and thirteen million dollar public safety package This is something that pulled us hopes will reduce crime and recidivism. Forty eight million dollars in that package will go to behavioral health initiatives to prevent crime. And help people get mental health care and addiction treatment hundred four million dollars in business fee relief including seventeen million dollars in waived fees related to opening a new business. What isn't covered in this thirty million dollars to create new childcare facilities. Oh two point. Five million dollars to create something known as the colorado equity office which the governor said will employ nineteen fulltime staff quote responsible for creating an equitable diverse and inclusive work environment throughout the state and a three percent across the board wage increase for state employees. Who for the first time this year. Where allowed to engage in collective bargaining against the state. Now in many cases police is relying on federal american rescue. "Sullivan said that while it wasn't intentional. And they didn't necessarily know each other before entering the race She aligned well with both bentley and norwood norwood for his part said. He was excited to continue the work of a superintendent. Dr drew pilch and the previous school board. He also mentioned that having todd at northridge high school for twenty years. Well he knows. Teachers are pretty darned stress these days adding we need to put the fun back and teaching. We need to find a way to support teachers administrators and families and norwood also said he wants you folks in the community to know that he wants to hear from you. Other important issues on that Weld county ballot. Does voters decided to keep greeley moving freely moving. This is a ballot measure to well. It was very popular with voters on tuesday night. It passed and again. I need to find the most updated numbers here. So pardon me as i Noodle through this talk much just jess for an it all right. It passed with eighty point two per two point eighty point two eight percent of the entire vote. That's what happens when you shuffle. Papers greeley voters. I approve the keep greeley moving tax. That's at point. Six five percent food exempt sales tax in twenty fifteen. The tax was indeed a set to expire in twenty twenty two now. According to city documents during the first five years of keep greeley moving the tax the city was able to invest in four point six million dollars worth of concrete repairs including thirteen miles of sidewalks. Five point eight million and co coding eight miles of roadway five point nine million dollars in patching one hundred and forty eight thousand square yards of roadway and. Just put that into context. That's about twenty three football fields. Twenty nine point one million dollars in overlaying fifty four point nine miles of roadway Well the list goes on and on now to previous city council meeting. The city's finance director john. Connor said if renewed keep really moving would raise about thirteen million dollars to help various projects. Move forward so. That's just kind of the reader's digest. Look at some of those important issues. Now we also need to get to to g and h which i mentioned earlier Went down in flames. That would have impacted the city's ability to procure water with the changes in the charter. So we'll get.

"We'll get into those numbers as well but interesting turning to again a flashpoint in elections across the country those typically sleepy little skill school board races where for decades the incumbent ran unopposed unchallenged. Well these days Those school board races are top of mind for so many as a parents getting increasingly involved again if there could be a perceived silver lining. There's nothing good about a pandemic. I mean i totally concede that point but if there is a silver lining the factor over the past one thousand nine months. People parents became more engaged in their child's education. And if you're a parent you're sitting there nod near head as well in school districts across the country near and far did everything that they could in order to keep the students engaged throughout All of the shutdowns lockdowns a quarantines That were the pandemic over the past nineteen months. Parents got to see firsthand. What was actually going on in the classroom now. Some very supportive of what was going on there other saying no wait a minute. I'm not so sure. This is ideal for my kids. So once again The school board races across the state around the country of tantamount importance. Kelly reagan writing in the noko co optimist. So good to see some optimism that these days really been school districts cool board. We'll see three new faces Following yesterday's election while incumbent michael matthews was reelected newcomers. taylor's sullivan rob norwood and kyle. Bentley will also joined the board. Now you're well aware in total for school. Board seats were up for grabs board members. Rhonda solis and john. Kelly were term limited matthews. At ray tally psychot- reelection now in an interview kyle bentley said. He was inspired to run for school board when he saw what is kids home during the covert nine thousand nine hundred pandemic. We're learning in school. He said i wasn't happy with it. Believe that the school could do better adding. It takes a village to raise a child. He said my children's friends who come over. They feel like my own children. In general i want everyone to do better to be the best. They can be me running. Help make that happen. Well that's what. I want to tailor sullivan. To some degree echoed. Those sentiments saying that she too was unhappy with what she saw her kids learning in school frustrated. She was motivated to run for the school board seat to make a change. We've got to get back to teaching our core subjects. She said the social and emotional stuff she added should be starting taught at home and not in the classroom..

We work together being evans and greeley. We're really just kind of one large community with two separate naysayers. He is phenomenal. Said mayor rudy evans and just a leading greeley into great. Great places in to the future now is one of his opponents. we're talking about john got three He led the group. Save greeley's water. He doesn't take anything for granted for an election cycle. I work pretty hard so jim and john. He said one of the things. I liked about this particular cycle. This election was that everybody kept the bar high. And isn't that refreshing these days in all the noise and the caterwauling yelling and screaming that we're seeing When it comes to anything political mayor gates went on to say there was no mud-slinging. I think it's great when you can have an election like that. He said everybody's cordial and i appreciate the fact that they ran. It gives a voters options again. Constitutional Carry Is Now Law in 21 States

"And what's your hottest Second Amendment story right now, cam? Well, I think right now it's the upcoming Supreme Court case. New York State rifle and pistol association versus Bruin, which is going to address the question of whether the right to bear arms actually means anything like the right to keep arms does the Supreme Court answer the question about whether or not we have the right to keep arms in 2008 is the Heller decision, which struck down D.C.'s ban on handguns. And now they're going to be weighing in on the right to carry. They're taking on New York's carry law. So oral arguments are coming up. November 3rd and I'd say as we're getting ready for that to take place, there's a lot of anticipation. That's probably the biggest story out right there right now. And I think that this is a very interesting development because you've got blue states now that are trying to restrict carry more than more than maybe they were in the past. And at the same time, you've got largely red states going the other direction with constitutional carry Texas. Just a month ago became a constitutional carry state. And I believe that that's 26 states. Am I correct on that 26 states? I don't know constitutional carry? I never did 21, 21. I wish we had crossed that halfway point of more than half the country was a constitutional period. Probably going to take another couple of years to get there. But yes, I mean, it is incredible now because just even a decade ago, I think there's a handful of states that said if you can legally own a gun you can legally carry it. Now well over two dozen, there are 42 states that say if you pass a background check and you have undergone your required training, we shall issue UA concealed carry license, but New York, California, New Jersey, Massachusetts, a couple of other states. They have a different view. You can pass the training. You can pass a background check. You can provide the character references that you have to provide in some cases. And still, you can be denied your concealed carry license because you haven't demonstrated a good cause to carry a God. Justifiable need to protect yourself in public. And really, that's the that's the question that's presented to the quarter right now is whether or not these sort of May issue policy that deprived the average American of their ability to bear arms, whether or not these laws are constitutional.

Congressman Hurd On Why He Decided To Leave Congress

"Congressman. Will Hurd and headlines will pop up more than one calling him the future of the GOP hurt himself has expressed wonder at what he's been able to get done in Congress. Last week, he took to the House floor and talked about the opportunities he has been given how his words a young black kid could grow up come to Congress represent a majority Latino district and get 17 pieces of legislation. Signed into law well heard made that comment in his farewell speech. The so called future of the GOP decided not to run for re election this year after three terms and we wanted to hear wife Will Hurd, Republican of Texas. Welcome back great to speak with you again. It's always a pleasure to be on. Why leave Congress now? Cause there's opportunities to work on these issues that I care about in other ways. You know, everybody always asked me. You know when I decided to go to Texas, saying them versus Stanford They thought that was a crazy decision When I left the job at the CIA, because I thought I could help the intelligence community a different way by running for Congress. Folks question that in for me. The opportunity to continue working on these. What I consider generation defining challenges in other ways is exciting, and I also believe these jobs weren't created. To be in forever on the fact that I've gotten more legislation signed into law in six years, and those people do in a couple of decades. I'm pretty proud of my my legislative accomplishments. Stay for a moment on the Congress that you're leaving behind. I want to play another moment from your farewell speech on the House floor last week. My final message. For my colleagues as I depart this body. Don't treat bipartisanship like a four letter word. On leeway. Big things have ever been done in this country. Is by doing them together. And Congressman. I got a note. You delivered that speech right before 126 of your Republican colleagues in the House signed on to support the Texas lawsuit trying to overturn the results of the presidential election. Does it feel like the climate for bipartisanship even exists right now on Capitol Hill in the problem is on both sides of the aisle that we're seeing that in the cove in 19 negotiations right now and yes, I think It feels like things right now are terrible. I think the all you see on television and the newspapers is about to divisiveness. But the reality is is the number of people that could that approach me and they want to see people get things done. I think the biggest takeaway from the 2020 election should be don't be in a hole and don't be a socialist, and ultimately, I don't think either side is going to realize that And if both really, that's your biggest takeaway, don't be in a hole and don't be a socialist. Yeah. Yeah, because how did Republicans of down ballot from President win? And then President Trump lose right? It's a great question that I've been putting to a lot of your fellow Republicans. Yeah, and ultimately, it's because the American people want to see Sensible things get done, And then they didn't believe that defund. The police are getting rid of private insurance and things like that was where things should go. And so when you look at this last election 8% of the of the Congressional seats were split party right where we're in the previous presidential election, people voted for one party of president One party of Congress that's about 34 seats. 40 years ago. That number was like 160 Plus, unfortunately, a lot of our district's are designed for people only talk in primaries and so people are constantly talking to the fringes. Of their party, not the middle, which is the largest stay with the results of the November election, though, because it is many Republicans who have stood with the president and his efforts to overturn those results. Has there been lasting damage done to the faith that Americans of both parties have historically shared in the outcome of our elections? There is an erosion of trust for sure. And at many levels rights, and I think this erosion of trust has begun many years ago when it specifically started. I'm not smart enough to figure it out. But what about the erosion of trust? Just since November 3rd? Yeah. Look, you'd have to ask them because you know, I was one of the first people to Congratulate President elect Joe Biden. In this case, this was probably one of the most secure elections we've seen and democracy is not always it is not always pleasant, but this is going to lead to continue distrust and and at the end of the day when I look at where the future of the Republican Party needs ago, we need to be growing the party. We need to make sure the party starts looking like America. And when things like this happened, then it's hard to grow with those people that distrust you. Will you stay in the Republican Party? Yes, of course, I believe in and freedom. I believe freedom leaves opportunity Opportunity, Lisa. Growth and growth leads to progress. This is what I believe. I think, unfortunately, yes, the President's the titular head of the Republican Party. But not everybody believes that way. It's just like People that are married. Don't agree. 100% of the time with their spouse. And so for me, I'm gonna continue to work on those issues and those principles I believe in help candidates across the country. That would be people that I would have loved to serve with when I was an electoral office. Let

"Judge in Wisconsin has dismissed a lawsuit filed by President Trump's legal team. The suit contested the handling of the November 3rd election process. In Wisconsin yesterday, U S. District Judge Brett Ludwig found that the rule of law has been followed in Wisconsin's handling of the popular vote. In his decision to dismiss Judge Ludwig said Trump's challenge of Wisconsin's Election administration quote could have been raised before the vote occurred. On Monday morning, Wisconsin Supreme Court is expected to rule a similar trump election dispute lawsuit.

Will There Be Second Stimulus Check Before End of 2020?

"Our show today with the conversation with Jason Turner. He's the head of multi asset strategies. When trust wealth management you can visit when trust wealth dot com to connect with Jason and his people. Welcome to the show, Jason. I hope you're well. Thanks. I am and good to be with you again, John. You know, I sort of Promoted this conversation is saying the good news is that Things may be bad enough that they're going to get better. That is some of these jobless numbers in Illinois and elsewhere are are Maybe this sort of thing that's going to push the Congress into finally getting off the dime here. What do you think about that? I would agree with that statement. As is unfortunate. That sounds that things have to get bad to get to get better. This has created some momentum for another stimulus package that quite honestly before Thanksgiving, I thought was an impossibility before the new Congress was stated in January. It's funny because some of our guests have said it would be impossible for them do not have one before the election. Now your horizon was Thanksgiving. But a lot of people thought this would happen into the election because nobody wanted to go into November. 3rd not having passed something past that point Then you thought maybe they wouldn't do it at all, huh? I thought with the lame duck session of Congress on the high level of political polarization we've seen throughout the course of this election cycle. It was not likely that we would see something, however, as things have gotten worse from unemployment perspective and from underlying economic data. That has pushed the members of Congress to come together and try to reach a bipartisan agreement to provide at least a lifeline for a few months. For those Americans that are really struggling. How is it shaping up? Then? What are you looking at? Yeah, I think what we've seen in terms of the bipartisan effort from the members of Congress have been working on. This is an extension of the unemployment programs that have been critical Both of those that are self employed gig workers and the like, but also to those that have exhausted their statement benefits so an extension of additional benefit beyond any sort of state limitations. And then an additional of $300 per week in terms of federal benefits that we saw on the extension that was forwarded late summer after the initial $600 additional benefit wore out. So instead of the 600 boost, you get a $300. What about a gnat's unemployment? What about stimulus? Are they going to send checks directly to people? And that's the difference in the two proposals that are out there on the bipartisan congressional effort. There's no individual payments to individuals. The proposal that was put forward I believe yesterday by the Treasury secretary traded that $300 additional federal unemployment benefit for $600 stimulus checks directly to Americans. Is it fair to compare what we're doing to other countries? I mean, where this republic and we are capitalistic and not all countries in the world are those two things, but I did see a chart that showed what are Aid to our citizens is like in the pandemic compared to other Western countries, and ours is small compared to what Germany and France and other countries air doing for their populations. On a relative basis. That's true. I obviously the size of the United States economy relative. The size of some of those economies in Europe is a different factors on absolute dollar terms. That's a little different picture. But you pointed it out well, that we're we've got a capitalistic bent to our our Republic. And that's different than the constitutional democracy should find in Europe that are a little bit more focused on a common welfare and what we've seen work in Europe in terms of the German model, for example, where unemployment is not skyrocketed because they provided Payments to businesses to keep people on payrolls as opposed to unemployment benefits. It has a different effect in the short term, but it also changes things in the long term. The American approach provides for a potential long, longer term, large scale restructuring of the American workforce For what may or may not be a different world after we emerged in the pandemic. First new European approach and promotes the the status quo from from pre pandemic times. One last thing into your crystal ball. Anything else that you're seeing her that we should know? I think the interesting development we've seen with the push towards additional stimulus. Now is a revision in GDP estimates for the fourth quarter and for 2021 looking a little bit more. Rosie. I think we were expecting Moderately strong fourth quarter because we had some some effects of improvement. I think we're expecting a little bit better fourth quarter now because of the prospect of extension of stimulus, and we've seen some Some underlying stability and consumer spending through the holiday season. I think that'll bridge into next year, particularly with the vaccine developments. If we do see vaccines distributed, we should see stronger 2nd and 3rd quarter 2021 GDP results they were initially expected actually could see, uh, full year GDP growth and in 2021 north of 5%. About that. I'm thinking of Jared Kushner, who in the spring said that in July, this economy is going to zoom. He may have been right but just had the wrong year. I hope that I hope that's the case. Trump Acknowledges Transition Of Power, But Stops Short Of Conceding

"To most voters, the impeachment didn't play a role in who they would eventually vote for nine months later. The pandemic, Social justice and the the economy economy where where the the issues issues most most people people said said mattered mattered to to them them when when they they cast cast the the ballots ballots on on November November 3rd. 3rd. This This week, week, the the federal federal government's government's General General Services Services Administration Administration announced announced that that it it would would acknowledge acknowledge the the outcome outcome of the election and let President elect Joe Biden and Vice President elect Kamila Harris begin the transition of power. ABC is Karen Travers covers the White House for ABC News. She talked with Sherry Preston. What's your overall thoughts on where we've come this past year in in politics care act, you know, Sherry. It's like you blink and you kind of forget everything that has happened before October 1st. Let's use that as our marker because that was when the president announced that He and the first lady had tested positive for covert. And I feel like everything since then, has just been on this hyper speed that trying to put together a year in review pieces, trying to talk and reflect with colleagues and friends and family about what this year has been, and it's almost impossible to make this list. But it is incredible to think that we started this year in the throes of impeachment feels like four years ago. On and it was such a big story. And it was these story for so many weeks and how quickly we moved on from that. You remember, the president gave his state of the Union address in early February as all this was still happening, and at the time the Democrats were in their very intense primary. Bernie Sanders was surging. He saw him winning some states. Joe Biden was Trailing and kind of fading at that point and, wow how things turned around so differently in just two months, of course, with Cove in the Democratic primary settling and there was a kind of a sense of Panic and unease at the White House of what this crisis was going to mean for the president for his re election and for the nation. And when you look at what most people were talking about, and what mattered to them, mostly what wasn't even the impeachment wasn't even mentioned. I mean, you know it was the economy It was it was covert. It was social justice, all the things that we all have been talking about for this past year and played such a crucial role. In the election itself, going forward if you were to, you know, put your cap on and say OK, a year from now, you know, I know it's hard to do but any thoughts on that You know, I think the first year of a Joe Biden presidency is going to be dominated by his team tackling so many challenges and and big crisis that they have to jump in on day one, and it's very similar, you know, similar and not similar. Let's say apples and oranges. A little bit of I covered the transition from the Bush administration to the Obama administration. And if you think back on what was happening in 2000 and eight with the financial crisis, the incoming Obama team knew how critical it was to be on top of things quickly and that, you know, he promised a lot of things on the campaign trail. But they couldn't get any of that until they tackled what was immediate in front of them with the economic crisis, and I think there are some similarities and parallels with Joe Biden coming in, and perhaps that's good that he was around for that in 2008 in 2009 to see how the administration tackled those things. First and foremost because they're coming in with the pandemic raging, you know, certainly by all the public health officials accounts that the numbers over the next few weeks with the holiday season on You can have a big agenda of what you want to do and how you want to work with Congress. But they've got to focus on the pandemic, getting that under control, making sure the vaccine is being produced at a large scale and the distribution of the vaccine cherry. I think that's going to be the story that we're covering for months next year. How they roll that out How effective they are, how people get it. Do people get it or they're still questions and skepticism? About even getting the vaccine that is going to be the big focus for Joe Biden and his team and Jerry, you can have big legislative agenda, but depending on how things go in those Georgia Senate runoff races He may not even be able to get to that agenda. The Republicans control the Senate with a very slim majority. Democrats, of course, control the House. That's going to change all the calculations for Biden and his team, So they acknowledge that you talked to officials now and they say we kind of don't know the world. We're going to be stepping into in some aspect on January 20th. The sources have told Jon Karl that the president has no intention of stepping away from politics. In fact, he fully intends to run. President again, while that mean for all of us over the next four years, I mean, especially for the for the Republican Party to when there's a lot of people who were waiting kind of going OK, Trump's gone Now we move on, but not really right. And and it means and this is going to be like covering No other former president. I mean, how much were we talking about George W. Bush in 2009 through 2012. We weren't because he wasn't tweeting. He wasn't doing events. He went to Texas and laid low. President Obama for the most part, until recently it on the sidelines. He did not get involved in politics. He didn't respond when President Trump was tweeting about him, criticizing him. He was writing his book for several years and only recently came off the sidelines to campaign for his former VP Joe Biden. This is going to be a whole new model that we're not used to dealing with.

"You know, what do you think? Well, I think Pennsylvania is very close. I think South Florida is very close. It's very close a lot of places, but the polls have been calling it for Biden. I'm not there so I can't really talk about it. But practically every single pole in America has said he's going to win said he's going to win and those two critical states, which if he wins the game is over. He's one if he takes Florida and mom takes up Pennsylvania. And then it says it's looking good Michigan's looking good. So it's looking good. The only thing is that some of us who lived through 2016 whatever you post said Hillary was going to win. We we still have a little bit of a nightmare or concern about that. Hopefully the pollsters have perfected their their their their their their page. Passion have a more accurate read this point, but it's amazing how how every single pole practically in the whole country is predicting abiding wage except for one. Yeah, and I know and but you know what really got me nervous Carolyn is that they like the Wall Street Journal poll like was like biting up 10% nationally, but the swing states are tightening and that like scares me. Well, I think it's it's scary because so much is at stake. And I'd like to make America normal again, you know back and putting people first and saying foreign policy and working together with our allies and and moving forward. So there are a great deal of steak. This is it's amazing. The number of people that are voting off the number of the amount of intensity in the selection when we had early voting. I I couldn't believe the lies they were unbelievable people were waiting in line five hours long and it's all across the country. I'm hearing so I think that ultimately the American people will decide Bond thing that we must be patient with is every single book has got to be counted and we can't make any determinations anywhere until every single vote is counted..

Jazz got called for president trump well but shades of two thousand sixteen coming back here in twenty twenty and i think i think what people have forgotten and it's even worse. Now this is what really this is. What really i guess. Mazes surprises me about is we knew this was gonna happen. I did a story on this. The republican influx of vote was coming today. trump has pulled all of his supporters. Don't vote until election day. Vote in person. We don't trust the system. We don't trust the the post office and despite the fact that probably most of his supporters didn't listen a huge chunk of them did. I don't know if you guys saw any of the lines here in weld county today. But i drove past a couple of the polling places and the lines were unbelievable. I'm so it's not surprising to me that these are coming in layton flow because of the fact that he has told people to vote on election day and those boats are coming in late. I guess the bigger surprise. And i don't know if you guys have noticed this but he's winning the popular show exactly. It was kind of like shades of twenty sixteen right so many comparisons flipside all those people who voted for that proposition hearing colorado. Careful what you wish you saying. Are you kidding me right now. If we would have passed that this year president trump would have got nine more from colorado at the moment. But but that would have been. That would have been like the icing on the cake. I told somebody today about the whole pennsylvania. Free day voting thing. I said quite frankly. The fact i don't agree with it and i think it is against the constitution that said if in three days again it's most of those late voters are going to be republicans that are coming in if pennsylvania if biden is leading by a small percentage at midnight tonight and they continue to account for three more days and trump ends up winning. Talk about a backfire on the democrat. Right in he. He's leading by thirteen points right now. President trump leading by thirteen points. Right now too so well and that essentially it comes as no surprise when you think about oopsy. Joe biden talking about transitioning transition. He's going to heck with fracking going to transition from the oil and gas industry and he telling voters in pennsylvania. He's going to do that. I couldn't imagine pennsylvania breaking for job. No and kind of the same thing in weld county. And i know well. Obviously it's always going to go for for Donald trump in that area. While normally see you air force and wyoming obviously. Cu game isn't happening this year but those three games cfu has lost twelve straight of low. So that means four seasons in a row while losing every not just a rivalry game every single rivalry game. So i will. I'll need to do the math but the majority of the roster has never won a rivalry game that is like i say i know it's true but every time i say i'm like wait. I have to check my mouth. "I can i. I suppose what's the benefit of naming whoever's going to start this week I kind of your point. My counter argument is always if you have to hide who. Your quarterback is not in great shape. Exact from doesn't have to hide. Well i shouldn't say clemson right now over the issue but but when everyone's healthy simpson doesn't have to hide who starting you know intuit tag. By with alabama. Nick sabin then have to hide who was starting right and it instills a certain amount of confidence in the team. How you expect your quarterback to be the leader of that offense and then when you don't announce who the starter is how is he supposed to feel like i'm the man i come out here and sometimes it leads to in my opinion leads to tight play. It leads to rush decisions trying to make too much happen. And i. i just don't like it Stephen iso like you said trying to place a mind games. But let's look forward to this border. War kevin is that really going to matter. We just watch wyoming dismantle hawaii late night. Game what. What are your thoughts. Early on this one wyoming is wyoming is exactly what wyoming usually is they They're kind of a fierce that fierce ground and pound run gain. Dazs likes to talk about. That's what wyoming actually does and they've really built that and you know they had. I think it's fifty nine russia. Tim's last week against a hawaii. They've invalid as a really good Running getting catch the ball while to wyoming. We'll just wear and wear and wear on you and you may control them for two and a half quarters and thank you doing good and then all of a sudden your gas and they just keep coming at you. That's the type of battle. let's us in for Which is like. I say kind of expect if you look at some of the recent board wars have been a couple close games that wyoming has one late and and i think exactly what i just described. There is a big part of the show. It's it's one heck of challenge for week two and Like i said. I know it's just the second game for a and and staff but i think it's important game because of kind of where the fan base is right now talking with kevin line love the colorado about Football just watching some of the reaction from from fans. It wasn't great. I don't think that a lot of people have a lot of patience right now. Kevin you add in the fact of what took place with the covert one thousand nine investigation With some of the the racial issues that were brought to the forefront early in this year and then you add on a butt-kicking kicking like that does it feel like there's Increase pressure on stephen to get things corrected in a hurry..
