All eyes on Nevada: Election officials won't rush pivotal vote count in presidential race

"Outstanding state is Nevada, where Biden has been leading. If Biden wins Nevada. He wins the election. NPR's Leila Fadel reports. Nevada State officials will resume ballot counting this morning. The secretary of state made the announcement after early votes, Election day vote and mail in ballots received by November, 2nd recounted. What's left account are the mail in ballots the state received on Election Day provisional ballots and mail in ballots that are still arriving in Nevada. Every eligible voter was mailed a ballot in the midst of this pandemic, and the state will accept ballots postmarked by Election Day until November, 10th. President prematurely declared victory in this tight national race, adding he'd go to the Supreme Court to stop ballot counting. It was an unprecedented move that many expected as he once again falsely called fraud. It raised the specter for ugly battles ahead in places like Nevada, where ballots are still being counted. We need the FBI. We need everyone who knows what these people have been off. And been doing and the real crimes that have already laid out in the special counsel investigation and in the Senate intelligence report, and we need to go into the money and really dig deep in his money and find out how corrupted boss man is and how he used that corruption to corrupt other people and who they are and what what have we actually been going through we need that come to Jesus. We need that moment. We need all of the underworld off into the light we do we need it into the light. We need the floodlights turned on Americans can handle it they can deal with it. Right people are going to be really embarrassed at the Gulf War. It flow those flags on the back of their trucks and war that merchandise. They're going to go crawl into rocks for Shane help. Julian. Julian lamden says d e r s said it they said you could show your taxes even if you were under audit. So if that's true, then it's whether they're auditing or not. They'll they'll say their rules, but they won't disclose what what they're doing. Like I don't believe I could be wrong, but I think I'm right on that. So and and you know, you got you got Bill bars daughter in there and since then now and you've got you got to Steven mnuchin on the treasury. This is the yeah that we get rid of these people. "And I don't I have to I have to own that on my wife told me not to do it. She probably hates Trump almost as much as Melania hates him. I mean probably not as much but she's up there and I thought I told her no, I'm going to go do this and I was trying to normalize him and she like this guy's not a normal guy. He's going to chew you up and spit you out. Don't do it. I did it. Yeah. Well I go so whoever asked that question, here's what I would say don't put your pride in your ego and your self narrative into your decision-making. That's what I would say. I would say take a chill take your ego out of it know what you're good at know what you're not good at home. And enjoy life and I didn't do that. I wanted to go work in the White House and fly around on Air Force One. And so I have an empathy for the people that are doing that right now and I also know in the back of their minds are saying wow, what a mistake I made to work for this limited, but the but did you already know before you said yes of what a scumbag that Trump was. I was overlooking it. I had cognitive dissonance override. I was doing what many people are doing right now. There's people that are texting me. He's a scumbag but he's my scumbag. I'm not voting for communist. Okay the last time it was he bought some bag, but he's not Hillary Clinton not boy for Hillary Clinton. Okay, and so, you know, he's a scumbag and so this this this Emmy own bottle. I forget in the shots yet. Everybody hold for fucking idiom bottle over Trump. Okay, it doesn't even fall but I would get better decisions in trouble. If you know what we were fucking do we flip a coin and then that's how the Evian bottle would make the decisions. If a monkey flip the coin to be making better decisions semester Trump. Well just thousand because I do want to move on to more important issues. I had do you know the political pundit former? I forget what network commentator her name. I'm stuttering Cheri Jacobus used to be a republican as well. But she came out against Trump right in the beginning, you know, and I had her on and she was like, you know, like not angry but saying like guys like you and Rick Wilson like our legs A train, you know, like and everyone is writing books now, but yet they supported him three or four years ago..

"I mean they, you know, even Ben Ginsberg has been practicing law for the GOP for forty years has spoken out about and he wrote an op-ed was published this morning in the Washington Post speaking out about it. It is Jim Jim Crow like practice. We're Hispanic American black American communities. Let's see if we can suppress their vote not count their vote so that we can get the vote up in the place that we want to sustain our power. They did that after the Civil War the Civil Rights Act in nineteen sixty-five the 26th amendment stopped it for a little while or at least made it harder to do with the Republicans job. Been very good at Boiling the Frog over 55 years meaning, you know, a little tweak here a little tweak there. And before you know it Stacey Abrams is not the governor of Georgia. They've got the wrong guy is the governor of Georgia and they've been doing it for a long period of time. The problem is is that mr. Trump is so crazy that he he he he's always in a terrible situation where he lets, you know, exactly the same role in the venality of his personality. And so, you know, they they're they're just fully transparent now and they're just going full-on Jim Crow. So it's reprehensible the break spot at all of that is that it's so public. It's so obvious that hopefully we can figure out a way to correct it in combat and so frankly unconstitutional so so let's let's see if we can combat it off Court said that that hundred and twenty-seven thousand votes had to stay but it's got to go up to the court of appeals. Now that's a very partisan court of appeals. They may reject a hundred years. A 7,000 votes. So I don't know it's not going to matter because Trump destroyed himself here because he said to everybody I'm going to take away your right to vote. I'm going to walk not have a mail drop box. I'm not going to have a mail sorting machine. I'm going to let the air out of the tires and some of these post office trucks so you're not gonna be able to vote as everybody said okay go scram. Mr. Trump. I'm going to go wait on line early voting and I don't care if I got to wait with my lawn chair for twelve hours. I'm voting and so he triggered off 95 million people early voting. Okay. And so we have more people now that if I think voted in some of these states than all voted in its entirety in 2016, and that's mr. Trump's doing so the great irony John is that mr. Trump is bringing us all together. He's unifying us. He's a unifying figure. He just happens to be unifying us against him..

"I think what we're doing now in denver for example is really destructive to businesses and it will certainly hurt the economy by going to twenty five percent capacity. That's problem I don't think. I don't want to see that expand throughout the state. I wanna see us go back to normal as soon as possible. But i think once you start to lose options when you don't see kristen site the pressure mounts for the governor or for cdph or for mayors or for county commissioners or boards of health to really sort of make decisions that they don't like and we all like them you won't like no one's gonna like them but if this doesn't stop if this doesn't slow The options of how you address this become more more limited. Chris why is it. Why is it. Seems like the governor's obviously more hesitant to issue a statewide a statewide regulations. This time around is that just because there's more information more data now or why is it. Why is he not taking the swift action of of putting in place a statewide regulation. I think there's two answers to that. I think you hit the nail on the head. I think there is more data. We've gotten better at surveillance. We know what's happening individual county much more than we did back in march and april when there was just sort of a. Hey this is getting out of hand and we don't really have a good handle of what's going on so i think that's part of it. I think there's you have to be realistic. There's political pressure here to nobody wants to be the governor to shut state down again. Because you know minus i mean the one thing that helped back in march and april when we closed everything down is that there was at least the idea of some federal money coming into the state of colorado to help businesses to help people who are newly unemployed right. Now we don't have that guaranteed money from the feds and so If you if you go into another lockdown when you don't have a backup plan that could be a real problem and then you you know we are economy back in march and but Maybe to some people. Maybe some people like this. Maybe some people don't but there was a federal backstop that they could rely on federal money to come in without that federal money coming in. You're going to do long term to the economy with a lockdown and everybody who's making those decisions are much smarter than me and they know that the consequences of what happens if you shut things down. It's it's really a terrifying proposition to even think about that The governor did issue. It's going to be three hundred and seventy five dollars to anybody who makes less than fifty two thousand dollars a year so some state money coming back that way but The answer i here let me put it this way. Chris and let me see if you can put some anxiety Eddie's panic time yet. No no and i think the key is is to to be aware of what's going on. I've tried to stress this over and over again. Is that arm yourself with information. You will make better decisions for yourself and your family when.

"Two right now but the question is once the hospitals really start to fill up. It's it to me. it's not necessarily a do. We have enough rooms issue but it starts to become. We have enough staff issue. Do we have enough nurses. Do we have enough doctors. We have specialists. Who know what the heck they're doing when they're dealing with these patients Two three months ago easy the these patients were well taken care of. There's people that knew precisely what they're doing but there's a limit to what healthcare can do when the system is strained particularly from a personnel issue. This is a labor intensive type of operation hospitals. When they have somebody who's very sick with covid have to have a lot of staff and the question is can we continue to have those staffing ratios. That keeps us comfortable moving forward right now. Sure i think. I think we're still there but since we haven't seen the crest yet the question is where does this go. I think our report saying that there was about eighty percent of the icu. Beds it may have been your report. Actually chris saying that there was an eighty percent of. The icu. Beds have been occupied. Obviously not all over nineteen related. Is that still the case or have you seen any new numbers on that yeah. I'm actually just looking that up right now. The number so basically hospitals tend to keep their. Icu's fairly full We may have talked about that before. But it's not like they're going empty out there. I see us for the last. Few months have been sixty to seventy percent range of being full now. You're starting to see it creep up in the upper seventies. There's still room hospitals like to say this all the time just because they say there's no let's say we have thousand. Icu beds hospitals can maneuver where they can add additional capacity for issues. They did that. In march and april where they got really ingenious in terms of how they would convert some rooms though be quote unquote normal patients for people. Who aren't very sick to icu..

"But i don't think it's going to be like that because i still believe there are more split ticket voters out there than what these polls give credit for. And that's why it's so outdated. People know people know that a lot of organizations have a lot of information about them. They're not gonna go out of their way especially in a world. That is so next next next next next. They're not gonna take five minutes to answer this fall. Sometimes i sometimes the tax that come in. They don't make sense there. The i don't wanna talk to him. I get enough texted on the day. I spent enough time on my phone. Don't respond to him. There was one i. There was one that. I responded to now that i'm talking about that. There is one. I responded to die told them. I lived in canada so i don't even know why they're there bothering me. I was. I was a smart aleck. And you know you get a ton of those responses to you know you get people vote. Say yeah i'm going to vote for joe. Biden cast a vote for donald trump. Yeah voting trump twenty twenty and then cast a vote for joe biden. I mean that's how a lot of people work. They don't care these polling these polls are outdated and i would not i would not listen to him now if they bounce back and say yeah i mean if they predict everything correctly then absolutely maybe they got something forget maybe they approach it differently but me. I don't think they've changed a whole lot since two thousand sixteen and they missed by a mile on that one. They missed badly. There was nobody there. And i think that weld county has done a very good job and so does killer media reporting on this out of the greeley tribune. You've seen if you've been paying attention to this you've been seeing how many Areas around the nation have to you know socially distance and drop in their ballots. How are these different amendments going to take place and why are they so damn hard to read. Because i don't know if it's just me. Maybe i'm just a moron. I've said that on this program a couple of times that you know. When i don't know what i'm talking about obama will be the first one to say it but a lot of these the the wording in a lot of these amendments in these propositions. It's so confusing. I had to re read a couple of. I sat there and and i hope a lot of people did and i think that this year we saw more of people legitimately sitting down in researching on these propositions and these amendments and these candidates for that matter but it took me longer to fill out this ballot than it has in any other ballot In any history. And it's kinda crazy the wording on in what it all means so i found a pretty good source if you guys have not filled out your ballot in maybe you filled like all but a couple there or you're getting ready to vote tomorrow in person. Good for you what i would do. This has been. This has been a great asset of mine. It's ballot pedia dot org ballot pedia dot org It's a nonprofit organization..

Space station marking 20 years of people living in orbit

"Space Station marks 20 years in orbit on Monday, when the first crew, including American Bill Shepherd and Russian Sergei Krikalev and Yuri Gidzenko, first moved in. On November 2nd of 2000 Space Station consisted of only three small rooms and one Oil it. The complex is now almost a football field long with a lookout tower and three toilets. Over the past 20 years, 241 visitors from 19 countries have floated through the space station hatches, including astronauts, construction workers and several tourists who pay their own way. The current crew, like the first includes an American and two Russians, marking the two decade milestone by sharing a special dinner and enjoying the amazing views of Earth. "Will end November 2nd Don herring Mitsubishi between Beltline and Story Road at Airport Freeway in Irving. Plano Parkway at 15th, Plano and Highway 67 just passed. I 35 split in Dallas. And we're back. That was fast, and we got absolutely nothing accomplished. We've already blown a quarter of the hour. We're hoping the audience had as much fun as we did were still laughing. It's fun. You know something? It's I think it's just the release of the stress of this year. Will I can agree with how everybody is so mad. Politically as if this doesn't happen once every four years, and then we've had the pandemic, And now they're saying it could get worse again. And but at least At some point, you have to find humor in all of it because we adapt and we survive. Absolutely sure we are so many great things are happening right now. I mean, it wasn't Halloween. It's last day of the month. We'll have a big push to finish out strong and then Wednesday is one of my favorite days the entire year. A day. The political ads go away. Hopefully, first thing we don't have is, you know, we we really don't have a CZ. Many is maybe we could have Because I haven't voted since 1976. But but the first time I voted my life about the time you get to page five, and you go on Who are the hell are these people running for justice of the peace for this barrier, Right? And you go. What is the point of this just by incompetent people. That being said this year, it may not be over on Wednesday. That's the fear. And this week. We still have to do new ads for next month. Whether it's over, not so. What is true is we're still gonna have so cars. That's exactly that's exactly true. Customers still want car so we're all in a good spot. I would say we're probably in great spot because turning out to be a very Good year. Overall, there's no doubt about that. Sembene sent. China has come out this week and said they're going to ban new gasoline powered cars by 2035 in order meat, a 2060 pledge For saving the planet, which by the way, sounds a little late. Maybe, but it's not really a total ban because they're going to allow hybrids. Right, And I think hybrids are going to get more interesting because going tohave hybrids that act more like a Chevy Volt. 0 40 50 60 miles before the generator going Outlander ptv of which you own the market on those justa few appearances to go on the show, Did you not done? It's correct. Did you not have like 10 of them A stock and they were all gold and going that day Set the market on the P A TV. No, we bought the market that's called smart. Now he's suddenly the hit that you had 10. Yeah, and you had to get a couple more that we didn't have to get more came on the show put out a figure. And by two o'clock in the afternoon, they were all gone. While that's awesome power of dawn, and Ed knew our man. It is what we've always known about the car business price sells cars. Nowt. But China's announcement there now falling in line with your England, Germany, the Netherlands. Everybody's saying gasoline powered cars have got to go. And they're putting a hard date on it, and that hard date is not that far off in the future. How is this going to work? If the public says I think I'll pass? I think demand will still drive the market. I think in 2035 if the public says, I think I'll pass. I think a lot of what you're seeing today is political theater, and those states will be pushed off to 2070 year 2075 or some other future date. What do you think will? Well, I mean, I think it's it's definitely it's needed to step in my direction. But it's probably too far to get rid of everything. So again, they said, allow hybrids that that's what gets left out the stories of that, and you know how expensive this car is going to be ink in the average consumer Fordham that were the other piece of it's going to come. I almost get the sense sometimes that they don't care about the average consumer anymore will Well, then that's an issue. Well, to me, it is to me it is. I mean, look at all the great cars. As I pointed out last week that used to be there was a three way fight for the best selling car in America. Ford Taurus, Honda Accord Toyota camera, and In any case, you had to go well over 400,000 sales in a year to see which one of them one for the year. That's over million cars, soul. Now. Ford sells main copies of the Ford F Series truck. And if you count GMC and Chevrolet together, GM sells a million copies of the truck and you've got a Thanh. Will that actually two tons and one But you have a lot of the all new Escalade coming in, but you've only got 14 left unsold. That's correct. Okay, so it's only high priced. It's bigger than it ever was before. Yeah, about six inches longer. Yeah, and so You've got people stand in line. Get him and most of the ones that are coming here. Always sold Yes. Okay down was last time we had that many problems at Mitsubishi, other than that, plugin out land, you know, I wish I had that problem when you did that Saturday. Yeah, but he's got it for months. I had one day a long as we get it just a little bit. It's nice tohave. I'm seeing this with the story of the new Bronco that's coming out. Oh, my gosh. They're claiming they already have 140,000 soul. That's either true statement or they're emulating Elon Musk, right? They just sold one. So I'm on a charity.

Bill, Brazil And Michael discussed on The Morning Toast

"Rats uneven like rats, but it's just like look fucking rats to cancer to just to come up with a thesis that you're unsure of right? Thanks, thanks. We need Bill now more than ever Brazil is so pertinent, and I'm feel bad for Michael I like, and we like tests makeup on at like you're putting lipstick on again. I'm not a rat. I don't have Redskin totally. It makes no sense. You should do the best idea instead of animal testing because like a lot. Beauty companies to their right have gotten rid of testing on animals, but like a decent amount of the really big ones do and I just came up with the best idea. So we should stop testing on animals because a and b it's like, we're not animals. So it's like, so what some mouse got a rat. A rash from this lip gloss. Like, it might be time for me we should test on like violent criminals, we put them in prison. So there they have no use for their bodies. Anyway, and said of giving them like the death penalty, like they'll just get rashes and stuff or the cream will work, and they'll be super hydrated totally on a mot testing. Yeah. But and you can off like if you choose you can be like, I want torture or I want the testing or like death row. Okay. To like, it's really hard to get someone on the death penalty. Like it's very uncommon because like it's a long process. And then if you actually do it there's a million years to overturn it. But instead of an appeal to like spend life in prison, you can appeal to your body to science different. Kinds of it. Not also like cell phone Decian testing, right?
