Fresh update on "novak djokovic" discussed on The Tennis Podcast

"But yet, he didn't have all the pressure on his shoulders because he was just one British athlete competing amongst. So many others he wasn't bearing that burden Sola. He was almost in terms of the. Olympics flying little bit under the radio and that felt like sort of a perfect concoction frontier Murray at that stage of his career and yeah. As you say, his tennis, the imprint of Ila Yvonne Lendl on his tennis, that day was so clear. It was that. Be. Hard hitting just intenseful tennis. He just has so much intent that day knew exactly what he wanted to do and nobody even Ephedra was gonNA stand in his way. Plus. He was inspired because he he'd already beaten Jackovitch in the previous round and then he himself had watched Super Saturday. Just we. They've got some quotes on that. He said the way. What Mo Farah one, he said I, mean, I do four, hundred me two repetitions in my training. When I'm completely fresh I can want to in fifty seven seconds and his last lap of the nine, thousand, six, hundred meters was fifty, three seconds. It's just unbelievable fitness and it gave me a beast. You saw that the way he strode out to play federal there. Was I think sometimes, you can send swith Murray when he plays against federal. Just being a little bit cowed. By the whole thing, you know federal just owns these places and such an ovation for him and and you're right. It was it was so much louder this time for Andy Murray and it felt like he just was not going to. Allow himself to be subdued. He just came out from the off and just took him apart. He also talked about being inspired by Katherine Grainger. Didn't he was the runner who won? Silver in Sydney Athens and Beijing, and that's I mean, of course, Murray is going to be inspired by that. That was Murray's story Katherine Grainger. Finally got the gold in London just before Mary had the shots to get his Godin. You Know Mary at had four Namus in Grand Slam finals, and then finally had his his moment. I can really really see why he was inspired by that as well as well as super today. He said. To keep coming back. Is something that not many Indie I. Think she'll tell you that she's a lot happier right now than someone who won gold at the first attempt obviously, you wanted to happen as soon as possible, but in sport when it's taken a long time to get that first bravery, it's more special. He was relating very very hard. Wasn't he which is so nice I. Mean I. Know He didn't he didn't. Didn't stay in the Olympic. Village, very few tennis players. In fact, at the Olympic Stadium Olympic Olympic Village just is Wimbledon is on completely the opposite side, of London, to to Stratford where where the the main Olympic Park was. I mean it was it was it would be with traffic. It could take three hours to get from Wimbledon to to Stratford, but he embraced every part of the Olympics you possibly can can't that. That's being swept up in other sports and beings being inspired by the sports. He just completely bought into all of that and. I? Love. It must be such a humbling experience being a lympics as Andy Mark. As Russia federally funded. Al. Serena, Williams. You know they they used to. Completely owning the arenas and the spotlight, and then suddenly they're not that focus and as you say, it must it must be humbling but also. I think some of them. It's not nice. Some of them. Probably light being being the Alpha I. Think most of those, you've just described I. Think love it because under. A massive sports, fans who? A Buzzing de. Athletes, how tennis fans are about them really there in all of. These other athletes and actually think. Great. Athletes often just like to be in the company or around other great athletes. Get a buzz out of it. I can relate to it in their uplifted generally, and and they're also students all of those players that you've just mentioned I. Think they're great students of what other people do and because they themselves are the top of tennis. There's not. There's not so much. They can learn from anybody else within tennis, but you can't overlook athletes in the sports and you can. Hear. So for federal, it's kind. The Third Olympics for him this. This got away I, mean got away in a less dramatic way. He he came away with a medal this time, but it's definitely an opportunity. Mr. Miami was putting a positive spin on it. He said to me, it's been a great month. I won Wimbledon became on the born again and silver don't feel too bad for me. I. Mean, I'm not, I'm not losing sleep through defender. This round I mean I was watching watched a few minutes of the previous rounds against Potrero before we came on here and I, mean at nine all he broke and had a chance to serve for the match Federa- and then he he ends up an not sure where where his chances modicum earlier in the sense as well. But I mean he ends up winning nineteen seventy. In, the third match, I think was well over four hours and what was the next day that he had to come out and play again in the final and I mean he just he does look as you said underpowered, he doesn't have the same human being and it shows how well as well by the way that del Potrero did to be jock. Itch to win the bronze. Four hours, twenty six minutes that much the final set alone. took two hours, forty three minutes. And poetry said after the loss to lose this way hurts a lot. It's very hard to talk about it right now, everyone has their time. The US Open might time not today. So. The given the physical and the emotional outlay during that semi final, I can't believe that he came back and won the bronze against Novak Djokovic. No less. I find that. Extraordinary Yeah, and extraordinary and Doporto or words that you'll be hearing together in the same sentence in future. Olympics. Relived podcasts. Yeah. Absolutely. Amazing feat from hormones into poultry in the men's doubles at the Bryan. Brothers. Took gold finally, bit sort of Serena. Williams like kids to complete their career. Golden, slam Only the woodies at done that as a team before the and Canada's Stagno. Nesta, and in the mixed doubles, it was Victoria's rank remarks mini who took. The. Mixed doubles gold. They beat Andy Murray and Laura, Robson, of course that much was lost to be played during the Olympic tennis tournament and it was played just less than an hour i. think after it won the gold gold medal, it was off to suitable rest I. Think it was listed as on the shell. So Andy Murray goes, of course, having had the biggest moment of his career, and then has serie, group to take part in another gold medal match with alongside his partner. Laura Robson and. Take away the singles and that that much low doubles much properly. We still have been one of the biggest of his career because a gold medal looks the same regardless. If the event that you you win it in and I think Andy Murray would have would have seen it that way. That way too. I think it's a shame in a way that it was on the same day that they didn't have A. Day to properly enjoy that gold medal singles and then come out and try and do it again. But you're right because I mean, if he'd have lost to Djokovic in the semis, suddenly imagine the focus that would have been on this other match whereas to me, they felt you to me this felt like Oh. This'll be like icing on the cake it. It's lovely task, but it's not a necessity in the same way..

Can Tennis Stars Be Trusted to Act Responsibly? (With Reem Abulleil)

"Welcome to no challenges remaining Ben Rothenberg delighted to be joined yet again during this corona virus hiatus from the tour by NPR's middle. East correspondent remodel rim. Thanks for being back on the show once again. Thanks for having me I like this. We're spending a lotta time together. It's honestly I been one of the Nice things about life in core is like spending a lot. We're like a lot more time with friends. I think overall to add at the time, and it's time spent like talking. Even seeing if you count Zuma's seeing friends and you know even those no in person contact and I miss that miss all the normal things like there have been. That side of it's been been nice. I will say yeah, same here. Tennis was affected as last show we did which are also on when we did a show a student to. All about for breaking news reaction to Ingrain Dmitrov tested positive for the coronavirus after playing the Adria tour, and that was believed ten days ago from recording. That was on a Sunday that next Monday, we found out that other players born storage fit your choice gate also tested positive day after that we found out that Novak Djokovic she would spearhead the tour. It was his baby. He was the face of it. He had also tested positive along with his wife. Elaina and then a few days after that Gorny Beneath Mitch, who was the director of the Dr leg of the tour in Croatia, the second stop out of what I think was going to be five originally on the tour. Had also tested positive after previously testing negative twice in his first two tests, so let's start there. be the epilogue to our last episode. What did your reaction to Adria tour change at all? Between the trump positive tests which I think we knew could be the first of many and seeing these other big players in including world number-one Djokovic also test positive, and I will before authority also. We have no idea how many other people stand staff organizers media. Media, Whoever hotel workers, whoever at the around the Asia tour also tested positive? So what are your thoughts for the further fall out of I think as soon as I heard about born Torridge, which was the second that we found out about an we also heard about Gregoire's coach. Novak's physio. Those were like the first four I figured. It's not surprising if almost. Almost everybody else got it because there was just so much close contact between them. The whole time they play doubles together. They party together. They did so like it's. It's not surprising so by the time. Yeah, like after after the second wave of tests, I felt like I expected the pretty much everyone positive so actually I was more surprised at the negatives tests. Tests than the alternative ones, but I think the the biggest thing that stands out obviously for me. In terms of the different thing is that Goran tested negative twice and then tested positive, so that kind of gave us more Obviously, we know that that can happen, but the fact that everyone who was kind of defending the tour. Everyone who is getting? Everyone. Who thinks that oh? If I'm negative? I can go play another tournament. Someone like another term all that stuff that kind of with Goran testing positive. I guess it was A. Kind of a cautionary tale for everybody else guys happened with Goran I think I think it is a really useful real world example honestly. We know about this incubation timely theoretically, but hearing someone like around been a little bit stride into the beginning. He was the one who is announcing it on court. Instead Darwin the tournament was stopping there or when the event was stopping in Chicago. Tournament when the event was. Stop there, saying Hey, don't blame me, I. Don't have coronavirus. It's not you know I didn't do it. Essentially it was. Sort of said somewhat ingest on court at when he was sentenced. Georgia Jovovich, that's the cancellation and see him. Yeah, that's positive. Eventually the show like yes, we know intellectually seeing a real world. Example of someone had not delayed time. Yeah, it does does make realize. Hey, you really. That's why we're doing. The fourteen days stay inside where people are doing that. When they possibly exposed or other things to make sure they don't have it incubating and yeah. THAT GETS TO DONALD team a start with him. I think there's. Say That team. The team comes up from. Adria tour and goes to play the UPS. Just the ultimate showdown event held the more Academy in France. And he gets tested upon arriving. There tested multiple times there from what he was saying in. He makes a joke that he's the interviews. The his most negative guy on tour which some people thought was in poor taste. Honestly have demonstra problem with understood it. If you've been had blood drawn six times in a week if you're allowed to make a joke about it. It, but at the same time I don't know. He's playing and I wish he was not playing. I. Just don't think it's worth the risk for having candidate playing tennis. If I was holding tennis admit that had previously booked dominic team I would say sorry, but we're gonNA. Cancel your appearance of the tournament. We don't want anyone who's been clearly exposed to the. gorgias stick corona virus cauldron. That was Adria tour to come here I. think that just negative within the window is not enough to show that you're not possibly caring and or contagious we we've done that now. Seeing team, go from the the ups to pull out of that to go to various other events and he. He's scheduled to play Austria an accident going to go play in Germany after that I. it just seems like he's just trying his. He's really working overtime. Trying to be patient zero as possible.

Djokovic Has Coronavirus

"We'll fake. He said we might be back with an emergency podcast just amid twenty four hours after according to last one and back, we are because there have been developments in. The covid nineteen crisis that's been developing on the Adra tool. For probably over the course of the past two weeks, but is only presented itself to us over the past few days. We've obviously been following an extremely closely. We're expecting a statement from the world number one and one of the organizers of the Adra Tool. Novak Djokovic today and we have had the statement. In fact, we've had to statements from the world number one. Read you the first one just now. It starts off by confirming that Djokovic has indeed tested positive for Covid nineteen immediately upon his arrival in Belgrade he was tested along with members of his family and his team He wasn't showing any symptoms, and he says that his result is positive as his wife Yelena. Both tested negative. He goes onto. Say Everything we did. In the past month we did with a pure heart and sincere intentions. All Tournament meant to unite and share message of solidarity and compassion throughout the region. The tool has been designed to help both established and up and coming tennis players from Southeastern Europe to gain access to some competitive tennis while the various tools are on hold due to the covid nineteen situation. It was all born with philanthropic idea to direct all raised funds towards people in need, and it warmed my heart to see how everybody strongly responded to this. We organized the tournament at the moment. The crisis has weakened believing that the conditions for hosting the tool had been met. Unfortunately, this virus is still present, and it is a new reality that we are still learning to cope and live with i. am hoping things will ease with time, so we can resume lives the way they were. I am extremely sorry for each individual case of infection. I hope that it will not complicate anyone's health situation, and that everyone will be fine. I will remain in self-isolation for the next fourteen days and repeat the test. In five days now, already going to be a busy day today for we'll certainly for the British tennis media because it was the first day of. If Jamie Murray event the battle of the Brits. But obviously with this huge kind of. Story transcending the sport developing It's an even busier day. So what does I'm? Briggs want to nine PM. He wants a message David Law, saying Don't close your laptop to seen Simon. Join a common. The tennis podcast Hello Simon. We, can he Simon? As a slightly weary voice, but we're. We're very glad to have the house he day been. Well, actually I. Play tennis this morning Mitch was. Day because in. About, one o'clock PM. statement dropped in just actually almost as the first big hit in. What you might describe elite tennis in the UK in Twenty twenty. Almost simultaneously as Jamie Murray went on colts. Who Doubles match? The statement jobs and the news course navy tested positive. I. Mean The I think if you're talking about the address. It wasn't as big a deal today. The positive tests were concerning But the how many do we hereby stay ahead? Five hadn't made by the end of the end of the day and I will on Sunday night. so today it felt like a continuation rather than being quite the bombshell yesterday when. Magi my busiest every day on twitter. What were your initial reactions were? It's joke Richard subsequently released a second statement on instagram tonight, which we will come onto. But what were your reactions when that first statement came out and how? Much, did it. Differ or not from from what you were expecting from him, not in terms of necessarily the results of the test, but As somebody responsible for that tour in that tournament, his sort of degree if the responsibility is prepared to take etc.. Yeah well I mean. There was a sort of Was a source of slight cheesed-off tone to it wasn't at the. He was sort of disappointed that we hadn't seen his pure intentions. For what they were a? and. Almost implication that that should have been enough to satisfy. On, lookers than indeed know the mysterious workings of the virus, and it was a bit of a mystery that has not recognized his pure intentions for the. Positives that they were. So, he kind of sounded a little bit. Petulant in the first statement, and then by the time the second one came out, he was a lot more. Apologetic fellow somebody might have had it worse.

A Tennis Star Catches COVID-19

"Welcome the no challenges remaining. It is Sunday. June twenty first twenty, twenty I am Ben Rothenberg I was working on posting are editing an episode that I recorded a couple days ago with buddies and frequent guests, this show remobilize into all and Louisa Thomas also this episode for the beginning of it. round table talking about the open their plans etcetera etcetera. Then a couple less than an hour ago, there was a posted popped up. I think I dream and remained Toumani. Join me again hello. Hello. Irene was the first one is. If I saw a post, this poster came up on your instagram feed, and can you describe what you saw instagram? Basically posted a photo of himself with a mask, announcing that he is back in Monaco and tested positive for covid nineteen an he apologized for possibly endangering others so yeah, it was him basically disclosing that he has positive, and as we know agree, gorgeous got back from Croatia where he was playing in the Adria tour and a couple of days before that he was playing in Belgrade as well, so he's playing Novak store, and yeah, and we mentioned that obviously on the podcast we recorded two days ago. I it it should be noted that we've seen many patriots of Griego over the past couple of weeks. But that's the first pitcher. We've seen what I'm wearing a mosque. Stu Point to money no I think. Yeah, so this is sort of tenses. Thing hopefully it get to a Rudy Gobert moment in tennis where Gregoire realized I have nothing fallen close attention, paying close attention to the Adria tour, but grew on court yesterday a Saturday in Croatia playing a match inside our Croatia as part of this Adria series traveling around the Balkans he was in. Serbia and we talked about this. A bunch on the show and I think I will probably still. Post the show recorded before, but I feel like this will change the tenor of its I want to post these. Get this one up I throw show that we are connected to reality more than maybe the other episode from two days ago because I think as Louisa, early people say on the show like. In these times a lock change short period of time, this is obviously a big moment for tennis. One that I think it's fair to say that we all feared was very possible with looking at Adria series, which is exhibition event sort of started by Novak Djokovic determined director. Quote Unquote was Georgia Djokovic of ex brother. It was being held in Belgrade and a few other planned stops around the Balkans They just actually after the news of Dmitrov positive test. They just can't sold the final match of today's session in. Montenegro which was supposed to host next weekend had already said thanks, but no thanks to Adria tour canceled their leg of the event. We sort of imagined Asia tour, which was an event. Whichever one you twenty? How about you described? He described what what we saw because he posted a bunch of photos. From recent days what Adrian Tour Bend like the got people concerned something this. Business was sending. The optics are not good. Let's put it charitably that way. Yes essentially what we've seen is What is a very regular event in very abnormal times you know? Whether it's you look on twitter on on streams on on Youtube big crowds in the stadium at Novak's Club scene players. And hands and invading each other's personal space and Interacting with fans you've seen videos of. Them are on the out in a club stripping together. and. Will these images that would be normal in normal times, but these aren't normal times, and it makes you cringe a bit. And so there there there's been tons of criticism and. Of course. Rich kind of. Received a lot of criticism for an we actually spoke. To US ball. And he said kind of that. He's aware of the criticism from the West. But you know what while things may be bad in the UK or the, us, it's not. It's not the same in Serbia. And, yeah, and for that reason you know people have been kind of reacting to that and reacting badly, and that's kind of where we. Can I add? They also had a kids day. That had a lot of kids. We've seen the photo of that as well and they've had a football match, and they've had a basketball match in Croatia. They went to a concert with Donovan John August the new version others the other day, and the thing is you have players who came from countries. Who aren't Serbia and Croatia in that? You have you have players someone like Gregoire? Who flew from the states, then winces Bulgaria, possibly also to Monaco. You also have such as Vera. Vera who's traveling from different places Sasha's also saddlebrook for quite a big portion of the quarantine time you have people traveling from different places, and they got off the plane, and you see the video of them getting off the plane and immediately hugging Novak, and immediately being welcomed people into walking around the no masks I don't understand how you can get a flight and already know that that person that person didn't have time to get tested, so that already was

A Pandemic Dahhhling, Do You Know What That Means?!

"Hello everybody welcome back to the body. Serve Jonathan and I'm James. His I told you had a bit of a surprise for you at the start. Those, Where we're watching the great, we've got one episode left and it's filled with Hazaras. That is the catchphrase. We are in the middle of pride month, and before we get into the show, a special shot and thanks to Tom Humber stone who has been or designer over the years for? Various artwork that you may see associated with the body serve, and he's given the body serve a pride makeover, so we've updated all of our various socials and websites, and you can have a look at what he did there. We think it's just swell, so thank you talk so there's been a lot of news this week. Tennis's not exactly back in full swing, but it is apparently coming soon. The plans are in place for the US Open Roland Garros and for the WPA of pretty full fall. Schedule this to happen in one day. Basically. You wake up before i. do so when I got up. We'll tell you when that was or when that typically is. Knows a lot for me to catch up on. It took a while took like full day very like I had a a grasp of what was going on, and what it felt like to me, was one domino started, and then everybody was like damn. Yes, so the USDA teased a little bit earlier in the week that they were primed to go ahead than a big announcement was coming pending government approval we had heard rumors about the zoom calls this huge. ATP Zoom Com that no Ruben was talking about on the behind the rocket podcast, criticizing Novak Djokovic for allegedly not being there, so we knew there were is nothing alleged about to. He was not okay. The whole point university I don't WanNa get spread cheated. You know everybody's got to be charted once in a while. The so there were there were murmurs throughout the week, but. Wednesday at ten am. The US Open holds a press conference in the empty and cavernous. Arthur ash stadium. Stacey Allaster is there? They have a few other folks on court physician. Mc I forgot who that was. Sorry. My reporting skills are just not up to snuff over the the tennis break, but it was very much a public relations event. There were a lot of sport reporters on zoom. So after the the press conference happened, or after the main presentation happened, there were individual questions by. Reporters who they showed on zoom, and when we found out that there wouldn't be media physically on site. We got the sense that this, too was a trial run for what the media access will be at the actual tournament where presumably players will be interviewed via zoom. Right, so the big announcement as I'm sure you've already heard that the US Open will go ahead. As planned in the the same part of the calendar in New, York City at Billie Jean, King National Tennis Centre with no spectators, and with a lot of health provision in place, but listen I'm still surprised that they're going full steam ahead. I'm still extremely skeptical and especially what we're seeing now in. Clemson University for example. was. At twenty three members of the football team tested positive for COVID. The exploding numbers and Florida Arizona California baseball has affected right now. Golf is affected right now pretty much every sport that you've seen. Attempts to restart has been affected in one way or another in tennis. Not going to be immune to that and we'll get to why. We think that that's the case based on what's been going on overseas. Break so I? Guess I'm getting ahead of myself. Let's just go through the actual news first, and then we can comment on it as part of this abbreviated summer schedule, or there will be the Washington D. C.. C. Tournament, the city open held in DC, starting August fourteenth for the men I. Don't think we have heard about the possibility of a winds tournament yet, but I believe it's being discussed because it's typically joint event, right, it's not currently in the WTO calendar, but apparently that is still open, then the western and southern open. That is normally in Cincinnati will be held in New York City the week before the US Open. And then the US Open and because Cincinnati is moving to new. York. That means that there will be no qualifying. For the US Open because typically the week leading into the Grand Slam in New, York, city. It's this. It's this week long. Qualifying Extravaganza pretty much and so with Cincinnati playing that there's no room for qualifying

Tennis to return, but not as we know it

"To the tennis podcast. It's not relived. It's not. An oral history, it's not Chris Evert week anymore, unfortunately, although I did very much, enjoy a Chris every week it's. It's a tennis podcast with actual sources, tennis based news and talking points in it, which is a very interesting alien prospects don't adjust your whatever device you're listening to his own This is reality. We're GONNA be talking about the prospect of actual live officials sanctioned tennis at some point in the not distant future. Myself Catholics David Law is in the house pro. I know you know doing it this way. Round David, but usually say something a bit more than a day yeah okay yeah. I'll say that Yeah, IT'S A. Visit to I I. Did you think we were done for the year when we were about? Ago Yeah six weeks ago. Yeah, I've I've always been been adjusting my expectations and thoughts and. Hopes etc sort of at every every turn along the way, but oh, yeah, absolutely. There was a long time when I was pretty certain that we've done for the what about Ema. Absolutely. Yes, ME, too. The future is a thing again. We're talking about it rather than the past. I missed the past. Just come to really enjoy the Paul the past safe, certain ground, and suddenly all the uncertainty and Rumor is back and we're not quite sure where we're heading again. Don't worry. It's still got fourteen shows with the past. Garnsey from Wimbledon as things stand at the moment and barring barring. Ya Cataclysmic Star events. Obviously which we've come to expect in life, we are going to be recording five grams slums worth of daily podcasts to Antigua and see which. One makes me all these conspiracy theories about five gene stuff. Was the coronavirus. Some sort of David Law manufactured events in order to find a way for us to produce. More podcasts in the twenty twenty David has the biggest grin on his face. It's definitely the silver lining that I can find Five slams. Yeah, we are. Explained probably explain why. Let's chase of the news because we've actually got. Live actual tennis news to to hit you with. Today today well, actually, it was more yesterday, wasn't it? Because the US Open and I mean it's been a not brilliantly kept secret right it was. It was leaked to the New York Times. It's been it's been all but confirmed for for a few days right? Yeah, it was clearly coming. Decision had been made an frankly even if you go back to late last week, and the all the plans being talked about by the New York Times and John Wertheim has been writing the story as well for sports illustrated, and then we did. We did a conference call. Would Feliciano Lopez with a? Dozen of the British journalist, because this is of course, fever tree championships week should have been the Queen's Club where Lopez won both singles and doubles titles last year, so he was talking to them a little bit about that, but he also really gave chapter and verse about the player meeting they had last week the. Zoom call now we're all we've all suddenly discovered. What zoom is over the last three months? This video conferencing ten. Days David Law I've done a lot of. but on this particular eighty, a planned meeting one they had four hundred players on, and this was the USDA and the the tools tending the players what the plan was to try to make the US Open plant. This is on the ATP side I leave. It turns out none of Novak. Djokovic handed out Roger Federer were on this call, but anyway the had four hundred people on it. And Lopez gave us chapter and verse on on this This media conference about what was said, and the lengths that they were going to to, and also that he was assured he was absolutely sure that it was going to go ahead. The US Open is going to happen. He said he also said it should happen. In my view, it's time the tennis to get rolling because. Bear in mind. He's not just tennis player these days He's a tournament director. He is going to be. Fronting one of the events that will take place in the remaining months of the tennis calendar. That's Madrid. He's the tournament director there, but he had a pretty stark message for the players in that call that we are going to have to accept less prize money. We're going to have to get used to that. We're GONNA have to basically stop being so precious what he was saying and understand be realistic about. The year we're in the climate. We're in the situation we're in

"An insatiable telegraph, Catherine Matt surname, yet what he's officially Matt. Now, he's not on grand Matt's because he's already. He hasn't is degree taken away from him. He's still is a graduate and he was a student, but these are all past tense because he's now officially right? So this doesn't feel right now. We'll get used to this is the new what do we think about Kickstarter, Matt? Well, Well. cool. Melvin matt's. You know been in gone, so it's just mass. So where? What do we what do we say aside from what I've just said about that men's singles final will? Is it contest? It was a huge disappointment as a performance by Novak Djokovic. It was sublime nine unforced errors in three cents. I mean to go with five and four stairs in the semi fourteen. Stairs in six sets. Absolutely sublime. Yeah. I mean, just ridiculous ridiculous level of tennis ridiculous achievement to in seven here. Seven out of seven. He's never lost a final here. Move ahead of Pete Sampras on the all time list, all of it. Absolutely. Sublime. But I feel a bit weird about the final about the fact that the me rough on the dole the greatest competitor ever in men's tennis didn't show tonight. He was mentally not there from the word go and throughout and I I'm struggling to to make sense of it all and I think that saying that detracts for. Joke of inches performance victory. Kit's? I mean, it's it's a testament to to Hyun adult is what he's a chief. And what he's done that. He's pretty much the only person on the planet that of the tea sets that performance from the dollar after the first he sets going the way they did you still thought Rafeh maybe had a bit of Jones. The league didn't school. To do even a fraction joke of it. And it was old must have been bit odd for him was happening on the other end of the core. I think both of them felt weird about it is just so not what was expected you. You talked and described you'll come sation with Novak yesterday. And how he seemed to be relishing the idea of the scrap because that's what they've always had pretty much. I mean, look, I say, it's the least like school, and I think straight-sets is the least likely school because equally would have been absolutely gulps. If Tiffany dalit one straight-sets, but the the weirdness you describe I think is act- because from the first even I two points of the match Nidal just wasn't feeling the ball out there tall. He wasn't middling the ball properly. He wasn't all of that aggression, all of that flat. Piercing hitting that that we've been seeing from him those big service bums, none of it was apparent today. Part of that is causing offense. Because you've got a guy who is his creek tonight's up the other end of the cords and just knows how to defuse the game of refunded out probably in a way like nobody ever hats. Yes. Didn't require diffusing today. I it wasn't that. He wasn't a joke, which nullified Nidal brilliance. Jovovich was just brilliant in his own, right? It wasn't about. There's nothing to to to notify. It was. I mean rough on those game was so off. He was so tight at the star. And it just when it's like that it just feeds Djokovic. He just puts it in Dhaka is hitting zone. Yes. And joker ventures literally teeing off. I always. I was thinking the analogy with. Whenever fish plane. Like that is it's like the cool is like a trapeze you and never took down the sort of end with the with the show. He's not having to cover much cool. He's just standing there and just maneuvering the board. And now the guy's looks like he's covering more coal because you can spread the play and. Jovovich just brush brush them aside. It was never close almost all my s- humiliation. If it weren't for the fact that an adult have been brilliant six previous matches and has that to to put a feather in his hat. It was. It was it was a bruising. I mean, we were wondering whether those new style of how tennis would have any bearing on Djokovic still wondering that because? Wasn't there? I mean. As you said a big part of that is because of what Djokovic can do to him, particularly I think on the return he can get in there..
