"He would come in do a dance one of these coaches in this group goes in and does a dance after they win is like I remember talking to Kyle opting me goes, this place is awesome. And I was so happy, you know, like when I was coaching. Doing player development Rockford. It was more of a mental coach like making sure these kids had more fun. 'cause you know with you know, the more fun. You have the better you're going to be. I know there's time to be business and everything. But like everything goes hand in hand when you're winning. You're having fun. You gotta stay loose. You gotta work hard at times. But so yeah. So I had riding the bus, and I didn't want embarrass him too bad. So of course, no bear on a bus because otherwise I'd have to piss thousand times. So I literally like just dehydrated myself for twenty four hours straight. So I could just sit up there not bothering and it was like being back in the minors, and your your oldest son is committed to Harvard. Correct. Yeah. Yeah. So he got his mom's brains. I heard he's got some game though. He can I don't know where he he could skate like his mom too. I guess kid can fly. No us he's doing real. Well, and all the team he was on here at Chicago. They've actually went back to back national championships. So there's a bunch of kids, you know. And now, it's crazy when you start coaching start realizing this whole birth year thing when we wouldn't well when I grew up, you didn't know anybody because you only played in your town. But now because of everything, you know, all the kids, so it's so he's a two thousand two birth years. So they're drafting be not distract you the next year and a bunch of kids from his team going really, well, so it's it's really exciting to watch their, you know, it's fine. I mean, youth hockey's so much. It's almost like they're young pros already. They literally do shit like his sixteen year old team Norv ally skates better than half of the Vancouver Canucks. Nineteen ninety-five team that I started with all guaranteed guaranteed. I'm telling you crazy. You heard it here. I you're gonna start a fucking little war going on here between the? Oh, keep more. Thank you for coming on, man. And we're going to definitely have to get you on again. And maybe if we can get the audio figured out those live shows will we'll have you there too. Yeah. You know, what I'm just happy? Because the only thing I heard about that was I think you guys posted some pictures on something, and it was funny because they're like who's the little guy next. You who is so miserable. Fucking grenell. Right. Yeah. Grenell? He's our producer member. Are was asking me questions. We were all laughing wit was having the time life like teasing the crowd. Grenell was a sitting there. Motherfucking that sound guy member. He's a I'm John offered to go. Yeah. Somebody asked me, and I'm like, I he was so mad. I know like it's almost like he didn't even know were there. He's like he was blacked out you, so he didn't even know what was going on. Because it was the proudest moment of Grenell's parents life because he was on thing. And they all came in from Boston on a big probably the same bus. You took wherever the fuck you drove. Yeah. He was passed. And I think I think they're gonna be fighting rough and rowdy coming up here. We had a good time. Awesome ov- expert. Yeah. Thanks, man. "Significant time Taylor Heinecke is not the answer. You're not position where you're gonna spend a premium draft pick on a quarterback because you have Cam you're not gonna spend big free agent money on a quarterback because you have Cam. So they're kind of in a holding pattern. But I. Would execute extreme caution because he's still has another six to eight years left in his career after this coming season. I think Andrew Lexa good example. I think him and Andrew luck both twenty nine years old. So it's relatively you can compare the two. He's a few steps before Andrew got into the situation that he ended up at because the might been misdiagnosis with Cam he had a procedure done this last year, and he was rehab and ready to go. But typically do you have some type of setback and he had a couple big hits the one the the from what was significant that did change his season. I'm sure it changed his body and then covering the league this year and spend some time with Cam doing one of his games. I know that he spent an extensive amount of time with the training staff and the medical staff it got to a point that Cam appreciate them so much that every Thursday night. Cam was having a meal cater to the medical staff because they were spending so much time on him and on his body. He did that out of appreciation a lot of people didn't know that. So I knew that there was a problem long before that I don't believe that there is a solution moving forward. I do believe that Ron turn the quarterback coach Norv. Offense coordinator in their relationship with Tyler Hanky going back to their days in Minnesota. Did they do have a lot of time invested in him? He's a little undersized started four years of college. So he does have some experience at the pro game. He does have a big time arm, even though he doesn't look like it. So I don't look for them to potentially look for someone to replace Cam for the season. I think they'll be very cautious in going about it. But you have to realize too that Cam has one of those big contracts. So when you have one those big quarterback contracts, you're limited as far as what you can do. You can't go out and get someone like Nick foles what they can do in Philadelphia. Because Carson Wentz is still on his first deal relearn that he will indeed miss the season. Does that change? What you guys think they're options are if we learned that you know, what they're gonna sit him out for the whole season. Then you don't want wanna have the season as a Washington d try to find some cap room to bring at least some veteran, Armin, loosen. I think it is. I think it's incredibly unlikely that we would. Learn he's going to miss the full year until we are into the year. I think if he hasn't played by week seven, and they're holding out hope he's on the pup list to start the season. And then but to take the hypothetical that they'd say in training camp. He's having yesterday up did make it. Absolutely. But you have to understand too that the owner is wanted his first press conference that he was a minority owner with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But owning the team this is all new to him. So I think that s he owns the team he'll get better at the press conference because his knick's. He didn't have to say that. But I get benefit of the doubt. He's nuit this, and he'll learn how to you know, massage it a little more before saying certain things like this before people were like, wow Cam Newton might miss the whole season. I I'm sure if you asked him today, he wished she could have that part of the conversation. But to answer your question if Cam, let's say has a major setback or something to wear before the year, they realized. He's going to miss the season. I wonder what the teddy Bridgewater market is going to be..

"We come to you live every morning from the seaport district appears seventeen brought to you by chase. And on this Monday. We are talking whole bunch of football including a sensational season that sort of under the radar. Cam Newton is having taken on fixed. Magic and the bucks second quarter or Lobski Panthers. Fourteen seven and that would win trickery. Car back into the reverse three rehearse double reverse courtesy game in space. I loved the way these guys hit us. Norv Turner right now, maybe the assistant coach of the year Panthers up twenty one seven twenty eight seven it's Newton again. And how about this cash from Greg Olsen confidence from Kansas throat this Greg Olsen in Greg? Olson everyone always leaks on is still one of the best tight ends in the game Panthers up thirty five fourteen at the half. Its magic would bring them back that within a touchdown. But then it's Newton again at Samuel again. And it's a touchdown. Cam Newton continues to play good football for this offense. That got plenty of weapons. He has absolutely in the MVP conversation. I'm glad you said that he's not just playing good football. He's playing better football these statistically than it was at this stage in two thousand fifteen the year that he won MVP has the same number of touchdowns. Seven fewer turnovers a QBR that is fifteen percent higher. So what you watch Cam Newton. He doesn't do it the traditional ways. Sometimes he doesn't get the attention that the the more traditional quarterbacks. Do he's putting huge numbers. His team is playing great. He is an MVP candidate. And I just want to talk about no of Turner. Because when no of turtle was hard. Everyone was like how is this going to marry together, you know, of Turner and Cam Newton Cam Newton kind of unconventional type quarterback. But you've got to give credit to heal for utilizing the things that Cam Newton does. Well in depositi has around him. He's drawn up tremendous game plans weekend week out and this. I'm telling this Panthers team there right right there with the saints in the NFC, south bid. You're right on the point of Norv Turner. And here's the thing to north turns core he wants to run the football. Right. But when we think we send traditional ways it's like, hey, get with one running back and a fullback. We'll just run the ball. And no, they're spreading them out. They're getting creative with motions. It's very Andy Reid. Sean Payton, Sean, McVeigh and so- McCaffrey's doing a great job in the run game their offense of lines playing great. But what is doing is equipping Cam to be a weapon Cam is now a weapon again because of the zone read. And getting him out on the perimeter there blocking forum so all zone read surface is protected and you're just watching cams at his best when he's having fun. What he's going through these crazy, fakes and screens to McCaffrey out on the edge and then in between the tackles run game. So we talk about how coaches helped their players be successful. Nor Turner has come in in a loud. Everybody on this offense to be successful. And it starts with Cam. And right now, again, his numbers are every bit as good as they were when he was the MVP. And I've said it before I believe three teams from that division for the second straight year are going to make the playoffs right now. Back to Foxborough. Playing against Rogers, very very difficult. He's good as anybody that. Based sounds top his name for over a decade. Patents takes Brady ones. Rogers it. Jones..

"Is, is a product of great coaching or maybe the sample size is not large enough yet, and we don't know which is clearly true, and we also don't know how he'll react to pressure in the NFL. We didn't see much of that in the preseason, but you're one hundred percent, right? He looked much cleaner with his foot work. He was more accurate throwing the football in the preseason. Then he was in his in his last. Year at USC. Yeah. Some of that could be Josh mccown that to hell of a quarterback room. I mean, it did the great coaching matters. I mean, it does more than people probably think account wanna go to your big, play Cowboys Panthers. We got Norv Turner entering a relationship with Cam Newton. I know what Cam does, and I know what norm likes and they're two different things. Sometimes give me what you expect at least whether it works or not. What are we going to see here in this relationship between the offensive coordinator, the veteran and the veteran quarterback Cam? Well, it looks like you're going to see what north had done throughout his career and offense. That starts with a run game, and it appears it'll be Christian. McCaffrey really worked hard in the preseason whether he can hold up as a quote, unquote foundation back is is a question of speculation. But the one thing we will see in this takes us right to our play, and we can start it now is you will see McCaffrey as a receiver out of the backfield and sir. Certainly split as well, but out of the backfield he is as good as there is, you know, he's the have Alvin Kamara who's terrific. McCaffrey is really good. And here you see him. He's offset in the backfield. This will be man-to-man against the New Orleans Saints. You have the linebacker, Craig Robertson. So what you're going to get is a man to man matchup and you see McCaffrey is going to square up on them, and he's going to beat them with a move great move here. And it becomes what we call an angle route or Texas route. That's just really, really good. He is a really difficult match up on these kinds of routes out of the backfield, particularly man-to-man on a linebackers. And now you go to the preseason. This is now north Turner as the offensive coordinator. This is a little different, but same concept man-to-man on a linebacker. But this time, Colin instead of working outside, he works through the line of scrimmage, but you get the same one on one matchup against a linebacker. And this really is what they wanna do to help Cam. They wanted to find quicker throws. Does get the ball out of his hands quicker because Cam does have a tendency to want to hold the ball and make plays down the field and he can get himself in trouble. So McCaffrey will be critical as a runner, and he'll be just as important as a receiver. I'm really excited to watch that game, and I got to tell you the NFC I really don't. I really don't. I love Atlanta this year, but I don't know what I'm going to get out of the NFC. There's no days off. There's no weeks off, Greg, so so. Good. Yeah, Greg, Cosell NFL films over three decades. Great talking to you can't wait for the year to start tonight. Thanks, Greg. Thank Colin appreciate it. Good stuff. All right. TJ cushman's oughta final hour just so many story lines. And I also think the big thing in the NFL scoring is going to go up. When's his back? Eventually, Aaron Rodgers is back. Andrew luck is back, sound Watson his back, and you have a catch rule now that's been flipped. So you're going to have at least. I mean, I think three to five hundred catches are going to be allowed that we're disallowed last year. Some of those are gonna be touchdowns. You're gonna have some helmet rule, late hit stuff that is going to see automatic first downs. Ejection of defensive players may not get a ton of Jackson's, but you're gonna get some automatic first downs. Some of those are going to be in the red zone and going to become points. So expect more offense this year in the.

"Now official carolina panthers have reached an agreement in principle with former nfl head coach an offense of guru norv turner to become their offensive coordinator so an official announcement could come as early as friday turner 65 and he's going to replace mike shuli you make a really good point about age we don't think of pete carroll is being 66 because he shares act doesn't act like it on the side but that this is the exact opposite you know when you think about bevo leaving after seven years as the offense of coordinator i think the seahawks had to hope for a long time that their coaching staff was going to give them a succession plan and instead it looks like we can be blowing everything up yeah absolutely man we'll have to get more into the north turner staff i'm intrigued david seems pretty optimistic about what he can do he's had some great success in the past but he isn't a top fifteen often since 2011 and i'm just not sure that he's the answer particularly his relationship with cam newton how those two will get a long wait and see but but questions with both we'll teams here at the panthers and the seahawks on how to extend the run that they've had of late you can hit us on the 1800flowerscom twitter feed at serious pain at jason fits at spain in fits with your thoughts on what job is better seattle or carolina but straight ahead more on the seahawks in their future with pete carroll we're going to be joined by brock hewart plus we'll sneak some nfl playoff questions in there as well it spain and fits that spain and fits on espn radio in the espn at swain and fits she says meeting i'm jason fits.

"Yup absolutely so did you think carson once you think that was discussion that was had in philadelphia facilities like hey you could possibly try to play with this or is that something that most guys won't even put on the table when the here that they toward their acl uh i think the answer is no that would not recur in believe me in the village berber could jewish and i'm not the one that brought it up the teamed up one brought it up and disgusted with philip that brought it up and disgusted and demanded it and we explained in the re inquires honestly your norv turner said you know we're good fill it we can you know billy will continue this and it was philip's insistence in acceptance of the risk are highly doubt that uh philadelphia eagles were the team doctors proposed that to were carson went for a couple of reasons yes he's a young quarterback hugh is younger than philip was philip was fairly young at the time to totally different type of quarterback of course i have no idea of the associated injuries but it has come out on in the media that there was some sort of partial i banned indoor meniscus that might complicate things were carson wentz in you know you saw the instability just walking uh on the field whereas need jetted out to the to the outside in what we call various that is concerning uh and and also you can't risk the franchise in in caused further damage different type of quarterback and also what philip was hurt in the ah divisional championship the divisional round and he wanted to play in the afc championship minutes to get to that point for carson once that's it didn't do the math year but at least six plus weeks away in terms of in many games away so that obviously would add to the risk um.
