Predators-Stars postponed at city request, extreme weather

"Dallas Stars postpone their home game last night against the national Predators after request from city officials not to play because of the impact extreme weather is having on the area. Morning from our Mercedes Benz and play no support system, Steve Lamb with significant power outages in North Texas and throughout the state, the NHL said the decision to postpone this game was made by the team's the on ice officials and the league. Upon the advice of Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson. The NHL didn't announce a postponement until a half an hour before the scheduled start of the game. There was powered the American Airlines Center, but a spokesman for the mayor said the arena is on the critical infrastructure grid. But the Stars game is not critical infrastructure. American Airlines Center could be critical infrastructure if they were using it for critical infrastructure. The game was the first back to back games and it wasn't clear of tonight's game. South slammed by winter storm, millions left without power in Texas

"O'Dowd. This is here and now much of the country is in the path of a major winter storm today that is icing over roads, closing airports and causing rolling power outages for millions of Americans. Oklahoma City plunged to a record low six degrees below zero this morning. The last time I got even close to that cold was more than a century ago, Alana Roach to a reporter at the Texas Tribune woke up to an unfamiliar scene here. She is with her four year old daughter, Remmy and 17 month old son, Patrick. We are in Austin, Texas, on Welcome this morning to see what outside Ram Snow. Yeah. What do you want to do in it today? No angels and I'm Valley. No man's Yeah. How beautiful is our backyard? And that scared? It may look good. It may look beautiful, but it's also dangerous. Joining us now is Mark Elliott, a meteorologist and storms specialist at the Weather Channel based in Atlanta. Mark busy day Thanks for making time for us. Absolutely. You're not kidding. And then first let's focus in on Texas because we do not hear about snow and cold like that very often. How unprecedented have the conditions been in Texas? I mean, by all measures. This is just an incredible weather pattern that led to some incredible weather. That's really not done yet. I mean, as an example, you're just hearing from that family in the Austin area. They're gonna have single digit low temperatures when they wake up tomorrow morning, which is on Lee happened eight times in the long Recorded history of the Austin area. I mean, this is an impressive cold air outbreak by all measures and to see the snow across Texas. Very impressive as well. San Antonio officially had six inches of snow from this storm. Wow. Well, this has been going on for a few days because there was recently that terrible pile up around Fort Worth where nine people died on and now looks like every county in Texas is under a state of emergency. And we're seeing millions of people there who don't have power because of the burden on the power grid. It's just so great. So how dangerous is a storm like this? Yeah, I think it's a little bit under appreciated. How? How stress the body can get over When underneath these extreme cold conditions, You have to take all kinds of precautions. I mean, everyone was saying, you know, don't go traveling unless you absolutely have to, and I think most people are listening to that. But, you know, have blankets in the trunk of your car. In case you do get stuck somewhere Know where those extra blankets are in your house. In case you're you know, you lose power for an extended period of time. It is not a comfortable thing to go through. We'll put it that way, Right. And when windshields are that low in a place like Texas, where it doesn't happen very often, it might be worth it. For people to know. Like, what does it feel like? And how dangerous how long can you be exposed to that kind of weather? You know, and single digit temperatures like we are forecasting into central, even portions of southern Texas along with wind chills. That will be even colder than that when you could get frostbite outside in a matter of minutes, So, yes, it's fun, right? Do you have the kid? There's a fun side to this novelty of snow in Texas. But you do need to protect your skin. You need to make sure that you're Getting breaks and getting warmed up because you can really get hurt if you're out there too long. Yeah, And it is not just Texas. As we said neighboring Oklahoma. They've gone days now without getting above 20 F and even Seattle has gotten about a foot of snow. So how widespread is this system across the country? Yeah, A couple of different storms are rotating through what's a a bigger trough of low pressure across, say, the eastern two thirds of the country but then that Trump also extends into the Pacific Northwest. So that's the storm pattern. Storm's coming into the Pacific Northwest, diving very far south into you know, central or even southern Texas and then turning the corner going through the mid south and eventually into the Northeast corridor. So Everybody along that path is seeing ice or snow. Anyone north of that path is in the extreme cold air. And, yes, there is another storm waiting in the wings. So many of the same areas that we've been talking about are going to get snow again for the middle and end of the week, including North Texas. The Dallas area could see significant snow again. Little Rock could see significant snow Memphis could see significant snow. I mean, these are areas that don't get snow every season. So to be talking about it twice in one week is just one more example of how incredible this weather pattern really is. I mean, is it normal? I guess what you've been describing No, it's not normal, actually. So what's causing it all to happen? Yes, So there's there's a loaded question, right? Because weather will always happen and, you know, long term averages are made up of weather extremes on so it's winter. You're going to see winter weather, but you don't see this kind of winter winter weather every year, and a lot of people are like, Oh, it's so cold. You said climate change and global warming. There is a you know, ironic component to that that as the polls warm at different levels, it messes with the polar vortex. I'm sure people have remember hearing about that from a couple years ago as that slows down that strong corridor of wind around the Arctic that keeps that cold air locked up. It gets all kinds of wiggly and wobbly And that happens all the time. That polar vortex is always there. But this is an impressive wobble if you will. So all that Arctic air spilled into the lower latitudes where the U. S is and that cold air is, you know, we're really feeling the impact right now. Marc Elliot, the weather Channel. Thank you so much for your time.

"Run out so it looks very nice to go outside but it's not really a good idea right. Am i thought about that yesterday. Amy you know here you get four five six seven inches of snow on the ground and now it's too cold for the kids to go out and enjoy it. I'm sorry about that. That's that's one of the little disappointments alive. How cold is it out there. And how are we gonna today. And how long is it going to stay for. We're in the single digits right now. We're seven eight nine degrees six degrees. Some places of believe dallas love field closest to downtown dallas. Eight has been for the last two or three hours. We're looking at a high of only fourteen today. we're still under a wind. Chill advisory wind chill warning actually because our wind chills are running fifteen degrees below zero or more so in thirty minutes you could have frostbite on exposed skin. It is not safe to be out there unless you absolutely have to be. And then you gotta be bundled up to just about to your is brad. Walk us through the forecast if you would please through today into the middle of the week and beyond if you can yup well temperature. Temperatures will be the big story today. We're done with the precip. We've had anywhere between four and seven inches of snow across the area. And we've had some pretty good drifts to With those north winds Twelve fifteen inch and ready for for dallas fort worth. That's pretty big So today just going to be brutally cold. We have another arctic surge. Coming down this The center of this arctic is just now kind of into the midwest and continuing to sink to the south. You understand that. Brownsville is going to be twenty six degrees tomorrow morning brown. All they're going to be in the mid a hard freeze all the way sal. So what we're looking at today as a high of only fourteen and if we get more clearing which we don't want amy but if we get more clearing we're expecting lows to be really close to zero tonight You might say two degrees here there. I think inside the metro loops of eight twenty and six thirty five. We might be able to stay barely above zero but outside those loops. We're going to be zero to two or three below. I'm looking at whether for you below mineral wells. Maybe three below And we'll continue to have these dangerous north winds so there are four temperature. Records below zero for dallas fort worth since records have been kept. Go away back to the late eighteen eighties. The last time we were below zero one below zero in one thousand nine hundred eighty nine. Then you go back to nineteen forty nine nineteen thirty and then eighteen. Ninety-nine that was our worst one. We were eight below zero on that day so It's very very rare to get this close to zero. And you say we're going to have more snow on wednesday yes well Snow and maybe sleet We're still looking at the models here and again when you're forecasting winter weather it can change on you in a hurry The way the war the precipitation and we say okay. We're gonna get a lot of rain. Got big storms and all that we know how much rain we're gonna get because we can measure the moisture the moisture in the atmosphere. But when you don't know what form that moisture is going to take and where it's all coming from then. There is a concern that on wednesday we could wind up with snow and sleet which would wind up icing things up to some extent because this has been a very dry snow and the ground was already frozen the street forty frozen and so it just blowing around on the ground is not really packing down into ice but if we have snow and sleet we have really wet ice around the then. We could be looking at a whole different picture of things wednesday wednesday night thursday right. Brad thank you and we appreciate it. We'll talk again soon. Meteorologist brad barton's..

"That he and their operation are this morning and Patrick. Let's dive right into it. Give us an overview of road conditions here in North Texas and what we can expect. Absolutely. Our crews have been busy working around the clock trying to keep the roadways passable. We're using our snowplows motor graters. You can see the smell that's out there. We're also trying to, uh spot street certain areas with icy patches using that sand and salt against watch we could on Lee do so much. We want to reiterate this morning that we want people to stay home if they don't have to be out there today. Patrick is that sand and salt. Is that still the go to substance? Are there other ways to fight ice and snow on overpasses and bridges now? Right now. That Brian that anti Aye, sir, that which prevents the ice trauma bonding on the road surface. That's what we're focused on right now, when it comes to our bridges and our overpasses. Dallas braces for record electricity use as temperatures plunge

"Uh, I looked at my little cell phone here. And it's forecasting on Monday. The overnight low Sunday to Monday is one degree. Here in North Texas here with more bread, Barton Brad that Tell me that's going to change some. What are the models? Scary, scary. Ling Lee sparingly up staying in that in that general direction. Well. I'm gonna be honest with you. I do not know exactly what the low is going to be Monday night, but I'm believing it's going to be in single digits. As we've talked the last couple of days. Some of the some of the models well, some of them have a cold bias. And some don't and that's why I try to look at three or 45 different models. You know, right time. And and see who disagrees with each other and see who's lining up. And when you sense more model agreement on that than you know, you kind of go ahead with your forecast, But I would say this Single digit lows in Dallas Fort Worth can cause damage to the infrastructure. We got down to 16 degrees. During that Super Bowl weekend, 2011 and some of the power plants went down because the natural gas valves were not well enough, Winterized. To keep the electricity running, so I hope they're taking the plant. ERCOT is working on that They're expecting record electrical demand Monday Tuesday winter demand so they're trying to get ready for that sure, but here's the deal. Beyond the temperature forecasting snow in Texas. Pretty tough two or three days in advance, could kind of a stretch and trying to predict how many inches is no, we're going to get it really is kind of a fool's errand this far out, but the best we can do is tell you what we have right now. We're expecting some light. Freezing drills with more actually had a little snow fall out it. Jax were earlier this morning, but Little drizzle tomorrow mainly to the West snow flurries mainly to the West. Tomorrow and Saturday night through maybe Sunday morning, And then this first storm system starts moving in from the West. We think it's going to Just kind of give us a slow, steady increase in snowfall during the day and into the nighttime hours on Sunday. So again we're good today. We're probably good tomorrow Sunday. We're gonna see snow beginning and it could get real heavy overnight between midnight and five o'clock in the morning. That's the time frame we're working with right now. That's midnight Monday through five o'clock. Monday morning and You consider that we just

"He's a six time world champion, and he's also the host of season number two of straight up. Steve Austin Stone cold Steve Austin joins us this morning Stone cold. Good morning. Good morning. Man Beyond wrestling. You got a background of sports. You got a scholarship to play football North Texas back in 1985, and I have to say Was digging through the treasure trove of videos. I was reaching out to people that I know with the with the archives, and I couldn't find clips of you. Do you know where I can find highlights of stone cold in North Texas? Man. I just worked on the project where they've got one play of you paint playing defensive, and it made a good play, getting up too tight and making the tackle that's gonna be coming out here pretty quick, but Yeah. You know what? They were just film and gave them back in the day when I was playing, you know, two years of junior 1000 tears at North Texas State when there's a linebacker blew up bass yellow, the kickoff coverage. We have done all season, came back my senior season and played all 11 or have any games you played started that weak side defensive end and I'll tell you what man. I was good enough. They were division to back in there now Division one, nor Texas State or university, North Texas and It was about experience. But you know what I had. I had dreams of being a pro football player, but just couldn't quite make the grade by a long shot on that, man. So there is gold out there. There's one play one play that has survived the 35 years, huh? That captures you on film. Yeah. I didn't. I was good. I was a good player. That's a local or regional level. Beyond that, man. Those guys have too much talent. In the eighties in Texas in college football. That's the S M u days. That's the Pony Express days. That's everything is happening. How was how was the lifestyle and the cultural play in Texas college football in the eighties? Yeah, well, you know, I was in North Texas state, You know, I guess it's hell. The Southwest Conference was still intact under when I graduated from high school. My dad used to plant Rice University's and he played and I don't think this 1958 Cotton bowl and scored rice. She's only touched down in the 21 7 lost two Navy. So he took me to Houston, and he was trying to get rice to take me on. But they wouldn't But you know the football scene and Texans was no different then than it is now it's still a hotbed. High School of J C to college. I mean, that is, ah, very big part of what's going on in Texas. Football. Stone cold Steve Austin joins us this morning on the show. It's so true, it's a religion and it's amazing to watch it grow like that, from the grassroots level was your high school experience that classic Friday night Lights Texas High School football experience. Man. Absolutely. I was fortunate enough to make the varsity team is a sophomore is running back and we went to the semifinals and got beat by team down there in South Texas. I think corn, Isabel put it on our ass. And then we made it to regional. Where was the playoffs? Each one of my years, But we couldn't quite make it to state. A got dang man. Little kind of end of 5000 people. We were back in. That stadium every single Friday. It was a sell out, no matter where no matter where we went, and you know, God Day we played hard and we gave him hell. That's pretty awesome. North Texas Dallas Fort Worth and North Texas in general has produced so many wrestling legends, the undertaker and Shawn Michaels and Hacksaw Jim Duggan amongst so many others. What do you think it is about North Texas? That's kind of hot, but it's kind of like Western Pennsylvania for quarterbacks. North Texas creates the legendary wrestlers. Well, you know, you left out the Von Air should probably the most famous resident family out of Texas. And even over the entire, you know, Genre. Professional Russian monarchs were superstars. I'll never forget when I was a junior and senior at North Texas State, 1 30 miles from Dallas, Texas, so I would ride down to the sport of time on Friday nights. The live show on Saturday mornings on the TV tapings and me and my buddies would sit out there and drink Baird yell at the restless and throw stuff out of it. God. A man with a Texas put out. A lot of great pro wrestlers of the extent of Minnesota did, uh, so did, uh, whether you can id our Calgary put out a lot of good ones. Protections is right there in the thicket pecs. No doubt about it Straight up. Steve Austin Season number two is back on U S. A. And it's a really cool serious because you talk to celebrities, athletes, etcetera, but you don't do it in a normal standard. Sit down scenario, like on a couch. You actually go out to do activities with them. And so you're in the You're in the feel of doing things and then you're kind of exploring their life and career. Do you like that? That kind of project better than the traditional sit down on the couch and do a one on one. Yeah. You know what I do kind of traditional one on one with my broken skull sessions that I do in the Democratic the network and I love that. And I love that format. But because I love being outdoors so much I love hunting and writing my side by sides and stuff like that. I love driving vehicles. I love to be behind the wheel of something, whether whether it's on land or in the water, So this show was right up my alley and you get a chance to do some kind of driving thing where you're talking to him and in some type of activity, what you're using turn into a challenge. When you get something, you know there's a lot of things going on. You're trying to facilitate a conversation. Get their story and doing activity, Man. You're you're buying this going, But you know you're just relying on instincts and you're flying by the seat of your pants. That's what I like. I don't like to remember anything. And that's what I love about this show. I ain't gotta remember anything. I just have to put it out there and respond accordingly. Yeah, you're reacting right? You're getting information and you're reacting to it and Maybe it's a bit of an obtuse connection, but it's kind of like playing. Football is kind of like playing sports. You're just reacting to whatever you have in your You've got to be on your toes. That's got to be exhilarating at times, right? Well, it is. I was talking about 30 yesterday and where he was asking me about it. I said, you know what? Booker is just kind of like because you remember Booker t. From Texas as well, You know, uh, I said, it's just like having a match. You're going out there. You're doing something to elicit a response from our crowd. In this case, a response from the person I'm then I'm interviewing and As they say, kind of an island and the comedy world or the the World of Ad Lib. Yes, and so hopefully always I'm there with something to say, too. You know, When I give me an answer, I could respond accordingly and at all times together and make sense, So there's a lot of things that go into it, and they surrounded with an outstanding team. And the show takes takes all day to film. And it's the pastor's half hour show on TV, and I have an absolute blast making it and you could tell they taking it because I'm laughing my ass off. That's awesome. Coming up straight up. Steve Austin sees number two coming up on Monday, January 11th on Monday 11 P.m. Eastern Time and Pacific on USA Network. Stone Cold, So cool to catch up with you, Man. Thanks so much Best of luck with Season two. Let's do this again. Absolutely Miss Bill for season three. Thank you very much. You got it. My pleasure. Aren't we absolutely yeah. Her kids are going to really enjoy that. Big it's so cool. It is so cute but Thank you for listening everyone You're listening to one life radio of you're just now tuning in and i have tricia cunningham. Where those she is. The president and ceo of the north texas food bank a nonprofit focused on a radical hunger in diverse. Thirteen county service area here in north texas so tricia. Let me ask you this. Do you expect the number of families in need to increase next year in. Twenty twenty one. You know what we're seeing right now. A lot of families that are struggling. We're seeing businesses that are continuing to close and so not only are north or the few things going to be really trying to struggle to keep up with the demand but we see families their resources. There there's no approved additional stimulus packages right for families. No additional improved unemployment. There hasn't been an increase in snap benefits for those who qualify for that programs. Even though the food costs have dramatically gone up and so we do believe there's going to be more needs because just because of vaccine may start to roll out. It's going to take several months for that to sort of become effective so that people can start going back to work. So many businesses have closed at the economic impact of the pandemic. It's going to last for many months if not years longer. Yeah it was going to say for maybe even through twenty twenty two. I mean it has. It has destroyed a lot of people's finances it really has. So how many meals have you provided this year. Compared to last year we closed our fiscal year at the end of june and we were probably on target between eighty and eighty five million meals before the pandemic but that last quarter of april may june. We ended up providing almost ninety seven million meals total in the community just during the covid part alone from mid march through the end of september. We've provided almost seventy five million meals just in that time period so we are we are consistently almost doubling our distribution that we had in prior years because the demand is there are our community. I always used to say that hunger is hidden because oftentimes it's the people that would be checking you out of the grocery store or maybe someone that Was your favorite waiter at your restaurant. We typically serve the working poor but now things have changed that so many of those people that were in vulnerable position have lost their jobs and they don't have enough resources to be able to sustain for a very long period of time so the food bank is helping them to to provide access to food so that way they can stay in their house and pay rent another month or their mortgage or or even helped her child with this learning. It's heartbreaking it. Really is you know how do you believe we can end hunger in the us and worldwide but especially here in the united states. Hunger is a symptom of poverty and so to address that you have to look at the root cause issues of poverty. Some of that included includes being able to make a livable wage to be able to have access to nutritious food so that you can get beyond what the whole circumstance and so you have to rewind a little bit and think about our people not getting the education that they need or the job skills training that they need to be employed in jobs that are gonna provide them a livable wage. Do they not have access to adequate healthcare and then nutritious food to make sure that they can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Why are people hungry. And what is the reason why they are in the situation that they're in and so there are many organizations in our community that are addressing those root causes issues and i think food banks and those organizations working together is going gonna have a long-term impact on our community. There were always the people that need to have access to food. But there's no reason why anyone in our community has to be hungry. We certainly would love to reduce the number of people that you know. Wonder if they're going to have a meal on the table tonight. Yeah what about the homeless. Does the north texas food bank feed the homeless is absolutely. That is one of the the group that we serve but people are often surprised that it's only about five percent of the nine hundred thousand people that are food insecure. Today that we're serving we work with so many homeless shelters and programs that do feed the homeless and we help provide food to their programs to help feed them. but it's a very small percentage. Like i said the most of the working poor and then we have senior citizens that You know they've they've worked their life but they can't make ends meet on social security or they have to make trade off of. Do i buy my food or do i buy medicine. And then of course you have children children that are going to school and often get their meals from school and they struggled to have an f. Nutritious food to eat on the weekends or even during the summer months or even the longer breaks so we have to take care of those families. That just need a little extra help. Well i encourage everyone to and that's one of the things. I wanna talk about real quick here. We'll not real quick. We only have a couple of minutes. But i certainly want people to know what's the best way for the people out there listening in the community to help and donate in their area. Not just this holiday season but moving forward through through this financial crisis that our country is going through for the north texas food bank and food banks across the country wherever you're listening The the probably the best way right now. It's financial contributions. Here at the north texas food bank for every dollar that's provided three meals can be provided with that dollar and ninety five percent of all of our resources go directly the feeding programs so we keep our overhead low so we can serve more that way. The second thing is volunteer. We are shifting in an adding more volunteer opportunities. People feel more comfortable and the masks. Socially distanced environment to be able to help out so volunteer with your local food bank There's external mobile distributions. That are outside as well as their opportunities inside. The third way is if you do want to give food try to give it invokes. Choose one item like a peanut butter or canned tuna or something so it makes it easier whenever it's donated to the food bank that you don't have to sort it. It's all one date code. We can immediately get that in there because it takes extra labor if we have to go through the sorting process. But that's a great way to do it. And i know our banking others. They actually have virtual drives online. So if companies want to Do a virtual food drive. Since many of them are not in the office or organizations. They can do it. Virtually as well and then that can be used to purchase food. yes and then touching information and tricia. We're gonna. I'm gonna have to go we're going to have to cook is gonna have to have you come back otherwise. I'm going to miss the miss. The goal We have a couple of seconds to get off the air. thank you so much tricia cunningham. I encourage everyone to donate to the north texas food bank. That's nt fb dot org. Everyone help out please. Oh my gosh. It breaks my heart to think of so many people that are hungry. Anyway you get one body get one mind and you get one live. Get out there today and make the most of it..

"Living in North Texas in works of medical city Plano Linda thanks for the time of those of us who watched the events unfold help us understand what happened that day I would what was your morning like before it happened well it was a normal day in the beginning at the time I worked in insurance so our biggest client was renewing their policies so I knew I had to be a mark early that day and today just started as normal. until it was at the eight forty six on eastern time that morning all hell broke loose pretty much my the right got pulled out of my world my desk literally shook it moved away from the wall and slammed back and. everybody was. trying to figure out what was happening in the strokes were going off and the alarm system was going off and my supervisor came through and yeah we were at that point just staying Pat because. when you work in a high rise fire drills become like a part of life since you have to know what they want you to do before you do. and then our manager came through and he was like we have to get out now. and then I realize that our dear friend of mine wasn't with us so I funneled the opposite direction of what they wanted us to go and. and I wanted to make sure that she was okay and my manager followed me and my supervisor followed me and. this smell in the hallway was unbelievably strong and you knew it was the gas so we thought a gas line exploded. elevator doors were sucked in kinda like us the shape. as we made our way through and got through to the ladies room he checked in nature that nobody was in there and then we just funneled into that here case that was right there and that actually was considered an external fair way. so it doesn't go into the heart of the building it basically runs along the outside wall even though it still increased in building eight lead you down and out to the street it is one of those things where you you read about it the you hear about it you experience that were literally you took that stair case instead of the other one and we're talking today yeah thank god my entire company got down and out even ones that one down the center by. most of the people that landed in the lobby of the trade center were seriously hurt or did not make it out at all in eighteen years later you're now working in North Texas can you believe that you're here and what are your thoughts today I'm glad that we are here and I am grateful and thankful and blast of gotten out of the building it's very bittersweet for me because I remember the family and the friends that I lost when you. friendship for me were like yeah if I knew you were a very long time you became part of my family so you're for indeed if the G. making yeah in fact as I came out. of. the building we went through the financial center when I came out the financial center on the other side she was standing right there and we hugged and she was like they wouldn't let me go back to get you because she wanted to come back to get me to make sure I was okay Linda run docile join is on the KRLD news line now living in our area but at the time working in in one World Trade Center and one of the survivors and the president was at the Pentagon and laying a wreath there along with former president George Bush and telling the victims' relatives over there that this is your anniversary of personal and a permanent loss southbound thirty five W. in fort worth still slow as you're heading toward the north loop traffic and weather together on the aids coming up in three minutes get breaking news alerts from newsradio ten eighty KRLD directly to your phone download the radio dot com after then favorite KRLD weather's breaking news in.

"North Texas to become the next director of national intelligence Republican John Radcliffe represents the fourth district that covers the area just east of Dallas all the way up to the Oklahoma and Louisiana state lines as there is a big district goes from from here all the way up to Texarkana CBS correspondent Steve Dorsey joins us live on the K. are all the news line to the talk about this Steve let's talk about that Dan coats first he's leaving eyes is his choice or is he being forced out or do we know at this point well according to his resignation letter that was dated yesterday it's his choice he's made it clear that he has been planning to leave at the appropriate time to the president singing in his resignation letter that he discussed this previously with them he says he wants to begin the next chapter of his life and that the office of the director of national intelligence is is best prepared to to welcome a new leader and it is John reckless North Texas congressman why Radcliffe directly is by any measure a strong supporter of president trump we saw the most recently during the molar hearings on Wednesday where Radcliffe Assam aggressive questions of Mahler's investigation wall Muller was testifying to the house Judiciary Committee and he he really question the integrity of the conclusions that Mahler's investigation reached and and I think those were the reasons why the president shows and the like that he likes loyalty to and yeah you mentioned brand click very loyal to the president is there concern among the president's opponents that he might just wind up being a rubber stamp for the president yeah I mean most the most vocal concern perhaps referred to from significant Democrats is from Nancy Pelosi who pres Dan coats and also said that the incoming director of national also as much must put patriotism before politics and there's also criticism on the campaign trail included for people to judge presidential candidate Democrat into said that the director of national television has experience in intelligence and not be a partisan and this is they what they say is exactly happening Steve thank you appreciate the time that is the CBS correspondent Steve Dorsey with us here on KRLD it is now nine twenty four lady liberty is officially a missing person there is a headline you've never seen before the statue of liberty has been stolen relax not the one in New York harbor the eight foot tall replica in Fargo North Dakota K. "I understand that North Texas coaches are proud of how deftly their players executed their trick. The players are young ambitious athletes who will do just about anything to please their coaches and prove themselves. If Arkansas had seen through North Texas trick sophomore Kagan brewer, not his coaches would have been isolated and defenseless on the field. Even more vulnerable to head ringing tackles at the fair. Catch rule is meant to prevent North Texas won the game by twenty seven points and a lot of attention with their trick. But what are the coaches really win for their players? And you're listening to NPR news. Hi, this is Chris Daly tune in this weekend for live from here. Wolf chat with our guests. Casing must graves. Plus Cory Henry in the funk, apostles and comedian way hope you'll join us for all this and much more right here this weekend, and I'll come your way at six PM this evening here.
