Delivery Driver Charged With Kidnapping, Killing Girl

"A FedEx driver has confessed to abducting and killing this beautiful little 7 year old girl, Athena strand, after he delivered a package to the girl's home. Police found the little girl's body, southeast of Boyd, Texas, where she lived. The driver, a 31 year old, named Tanner Lynn Horner, is sitting in jail right now, being charged with capital murder and aggravated kidnapping, he has apparently admitted to the crime. He's confessed. Now, I'm not going to compare the abduction and murder of a little 7 year old child. To those who are complaining about a Christmas production at a church in north Texas. I know, I know it's not the same thing. I'm not comparing them. But in a way, aren't they sort of similar stories? There's so much evil. Isn't it, I mean, obviously it's an unspeakable evil to target a child like this, and I have to admit, I obsess over why these things happen. 31 year old guy, he's a FedEx delivery guy. How many people in Texas probably encountered him in a normal day to today interaction? Oh, here's your president. Here's your package, mister Smith. Oh, thanks, young man. And now he's in jail. Having confessed apparently to seeing a little 7 year old child playing in the street, abducting her and murdering her.

Caller: Talking People out of Wearing Masks

"Down here in Texas, the mask thing I'm up in north Texas. We don't get a whole lot of them, but when we do, the way that I approach it, what's without trying to infringe my ideas or make them feel awkward about it is I actually ask him, I'm like, hey, are you sick? And then their response is normally no. And then that prompts the conversation, then where I can have them, then why are you wearing this mask? And then, you know, whether or not they want to engage with you or not, is the way that you can actually tell them, hey, that match does more harm. A lot of them are uninformed. They don't even know. I always tell them how you just go look at the CDC report, the new that. And that becomes un confrontational then when a lot of them then take it off, I've had them take it off right in front of me and I've never seen them put it back on on some. So you can start talking about it. I don't know. I mean, it strikes me and I'm sure you're a great guy. It strikes me that asking a perfect stranger if you're sick or not is pretty intrusive. And I mean, you know, I listen, you're going to do what you want to do, but I think you leave people alone. So nobody's business, what their health condition is. And people, people get to be scared. I feel sorry for them. I feel sorry for living in that. And we all were there. Remember when COVID started and we were spraying down packages and I remember thinking, gosh, I don't want to get this thing, and of course when I got it, it was nothing. It was a piece of cake. It was a mild symptoms and everything. I mean, but I've still got people who are furious at me. For sharing on air that I got a vaccine. Now, why that would make you angry is beyond me and why somebody else wearing a mask would make you angry is beyond me as well. Leave people alone. Live your life.

Is There Hope for the Future of America? Dr. Mike Burgess Weighs In

"Hope not that we're going to turn the conservatives will win back the House Republicans will win back the house and hopefully the Senate that at least can put a damper on some of these things and moving forward because I mean, we went through an administration that frankly just does it seem to care. Just your last hot take on that. I mean, what's the feeling right now in D.C.? Well, if the election is about security, if it's about immigration, if it's about border security, if it's about cost of living that has been out of control for months and months and months, I think Republicans have a good have a good shot. There will be a lot of effort on the other side. A lot of time and effort spent on trying to make the election about other things. But look, the president in his 60 minutes interview the other day said, oh, inflation is just an inch up. I'm sorry. It's an inch, but it's a puncture wound, and it's hurting American families. And they're dealing with it every day. Sure, gas prices have come down a little bit because you exhausted this strategic petroleum reserve to artificially depress the price. That's going to run out about the same time that we come into this fall election, but that was that was the strategy to deal with inflation is let's just buy down gas prices with our strategic petroleum reserve, but every other price, every other pocketbook issue is hitting people and sitting them pretty hard. Supply chain continues to be a problem. I don't know about where you live in Georgia but I'll tell you in north Texas. It's not unusual for me to go into my neighborhood Walmart and see a lot of things that are just not available. A lot of empty shelves that has been going out at one point. You said, well, that's a pandemic. President said the pandemic's over. When are we going to start to find the goods we need on the supermarket shelves? So these are these are big questions that people who are going to the polls as follow are going to have to answer if you let yourself get distracted by something that it's not about. And that's what the Democrats are going to try to do.

How to Build Positive Relationships

"I really do hope you guys are heading into an incredible weekend. And that you are enjoying spending as much time as you can with your family, while you can. And for those of you who don't have a family, you need to spend time with the lord. And the lord will feel the void that you may have or that you believe you may have. Because. Just because a person is your family member or person is not your family member, does not mean that you can't build quality relationships with other people. I've been living in Arizona away from my family, all my family living for work, Texas, or mostly north Texas area, and I have been able to develop plenty of quality relationships, people that live here in Arizona, I like my family. So don't ever feel like just because you can folk ain't around or you don't have your kinfolk to lean on, that you can not develop positive relationships and be happy and have people that are connected to you as in the same ways that some people use their families. But if you do have a family, then love your family,

And this off season in general is just a big kind of unknown question mark for a lot of the CDL teams. You have rumors and talks around the league from players and organizations personalities. Concerning Paris legion team, what's going to happen with them? The potential kind of optic envy merger that has been ruminating for like the last month and a half. It feels like secret. It's a poorly kept secret, but what can you say about that situation so far? And what can you tell us about is there any developments? Is it pretty much just kind of like being, you know, the worst kept secret still or is it still just kind of being talked about contracts being worked at? What's happening there? I can tell you what you've seen on Reddit. That's kind of what I can say. And talks surfaced of envy kind of absorbing the optic brand for months now. You know, that was at the very, very beginning of the off season, the empire dropped creme 6 and vivid. Real quick and made them restricted free agents. And we're still waiting to see exactly where those two will go. But you know, you can just look at other details, right? The Chicago spot is looking to sell and it's going to rumors are that it's going to Washington. There's even Washington name rumors that you ought to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think of the ThunderCats or something. I thought I saw warriors is like three times a day. You got exactly. There's a screenshot of what looks like shotzi at the optic center over and fresco. So it just connecting the dots. It's not really hard. To see that. But we don't have confirmation right now. So you can't nothing I've learned from a lot of professionals in this business that there are no promises. Nothing is ever a certainty. But connecting the dots, all the stars seem to align. No, for sure. I mean, to put one other big time sports journalist. What is true today is not always true tomorrow. And so when it comes to potential mergers, you know, eSports organizations and where players are landing. You don't know until the official either source comes out and says it or the team itself announces it. So from a narrative standpoint, right? Where do you stand on seeing probably the two biggest one of the two biggest names in Call of Duty merging with another? Is that kind of like is that weird to see? Should I should I feel afraid? 'cause I feel afraid seeing two big names like the Red Sox and the Yankees just combined names and I'm just, I'm not okay with that Sean should I be okay with it?.

Jake Ellzey Wins Runoff Election for Texas' 6th District

"Died in office yesterday in a closely watched congressional runoff between two Republicans in North Texas state lawmaker Jake LZ beat Susan right. In the special election to replace her late husband, Ktrs builds able was in Ennis, where L Z supporters gathered for election night. 20 year. Navy man Jake LZ considered this campaign a call of duty when he answered even though many thought he might not win. I honestly didn't expect this to happen this way. Because it's so hard LZ defeated Susan Wright with a little more than 53% of the vote. The sixth Congressional district includes parts of Tarrant County as well as Ellis and Navarro counties. This district's been Republican for decades when former President Trump and Senator Ted Cruz endorsed right. Political observers took notice. Ron Langen header and LZ supporter didn't care nothing against Susan. But what qualifies her to be in Congress? I don't know. Right? Ran on years of Republican Party involvement. L Z on his military and legislative service in conceding, right said it's time to back the winner. I want all this to get behind him and help him. The sixth District belongs to all of us, L z said. Now it's time for him to get down to business, Man. I'm ready to Love on my family, get some rest and then go to work whenever it's time to start working as the next congressman from the sixties I'm bills able in Ennis.

"north texas" Discussed on KILF Morning New Podcast

"Today that's geiko dot com for many considering it a big political upset with jake elsie defeating susan right in the race for congress out of the sixth district here in north texas big reason that People consider it an upset is because former president trump endorsed susan right and joining us now to break down the race and tell us what it means if anything politically as we go forward. Smu political scientists cal gelson. Hey cal good morning. Good morning guys are want to start with. This is an audio cut for you. It's just about twelve seconds. This jake kelsey after he won and we want to get your reaction. I'm sure that there's going to be a lot of political scientists looking at the the various aspects of this campaign for a long time become based on the personalities involved in the campaigns were run so what what do you think about what he just said. And the big picture. Well i think the big picture is that Donald trump's endorsement is still going to be considered to be very valuable by republican candidates. But they will now understand that that's their race to win so they're gonna compete for that endorsement but unless donald trump is willing to do more than he did on the app. Susan right which is a couple of phone calls And an endorsement from new jersey. I is not gonna be enough. So i do think that that. This doesn't devalue the trump endorsement but it does tell everyone you've gotta run your race and you've got to win it on your own and jake kelsey did that By being very systematic You have to say shoes. choosing right. Started out the favorite in this race and she had some big early endorsements not just trump but then the campaign seemed to play defense rather than offense and it was els z. That went out and won it. So i think we had And and susan right Not a natural campaigner not very good candidate in l. z. We had a good candidate and he was able to overcome that That trump endorsement that went to write a lot of times when a member of congress passes away. We see the spouse run for His or her seat Was i guess. A sympathy vote wasn't enough for her. Well i think it was important early on. That's what made her the presumptive front front runner. I think i saw in the in the press that something like forty two spouses have have replaced their husbands when they died in office and some of them lindy boggs replacing hale boggs over in louisiana things like Like that You know the the their spouses have done a very good job in hell to seek for for quite a while. But but it's still the case that voters And maybe particular. Texas voters are going to take a close look and win. Those voters looked at this race. Many of them said you know i. I like donald trump. I sport donald trump but but l. Looks like the guy to me. And so i'm gonna i'm gonna go with him and i also think that that the role that club for growth which is a big national of Conservative organization they put a million dollars in this race behind susan right but they did it in a very nasty way that That described jake chelsea in a way that voters just didn't believe they described l. z As as a closet democrat to liberal you know not focused on on conservative issues and and voters that knew anything at all about l. z. Said now that's not what i see we're talking with. Smu political scientists cal jolson about The election in which jake l z defeated susan. Right for the sixth congressional district in texas cow. I'm curious about two things here. Maybe kind of weaving together. One is the thing that Hasn't been mentioned too much. And that is that. Jake chelsea actually Had twice the amount of money for his campaign that susan wright had and the other is Question about whether or not political endorsements are big a deal as they used to be political. Endorsements are still a big deal because most voters start most racist particularly local congressional races like this not knowing too much about the candidates unless one is a long time incumbent and those endorsements are first signal to regular voters at this is a person that experts and other politicians think well so endorsements are still important but they were never enough not very. Many voters are willing to to cast a ballot for someone simply based on on an endorsement opinion by another person. They need other stuff to confirm That that endorsement And i forgot your second question. Oh it's just the fact that L z had twice the amount of money to spend. Yeah right right that that's important too because money is an early vote And if the votes are going in money terms two alsi and and not Not his opponent. Then that's that's a signal and there were. There were several signals along the way that the right campaign was not performing at a very high level after the early surge of endorsement and that the assumption that she was the front runner she. She looked like she was trying not to lose this race. And jake kelsey went out to win it attorney general. Ken paxton got former president. Trump's endorsement yesterday we know that paxton has had a lot of legal woes of late. Is that endorsement gonna help or hurt him. Well just like you. Endorsement of susan right It's going to help but it's not going to be enough And i think it's even more the case in the in the ken paxton race as susan. Wright didn't have serious negatives she just didn't have serious positives to build on in her campaign. There's nothing particularly along with her with packs and there's lots particularly wrong with him. He has several as you legal woes. That will play out in the coming months and years so i do think that the trump endorsement is important. George bush certainly wanted it and try to win it Failed to do so and so this is a warning to paxton that. Having trump's endorsement is great. But you have to win your own race and whether he can do that or not remains to be seen. I think that's what we've taken away from this conversation. We thank you very much for it as always thank you all right. There's jason smu political scientists..

How Pat Boone Offered His Life to Christ

"My guest. Today is mr pat. Boone pat boone. My friend welcome to this program. Lets me it's radio so feel free to talk and listen pat. I gotta tell you. I got to tell my audience just to set them up for what we're gonna discuss. I had the privilege we were in dallas together at the are a couple of weeks ago. my daughter and i had the joy of spending some time with you At that dinner there was a special dinner and Then album and i might producer. Were in the room The next day. I think it was two days later when you got a very special award and that got me thinking about you and your career and i said i want to have you on this program to talk about your career. Talk about anything you want. But that evening was so special pat. I was sitting there watching. They had put together a beautiful video. Package introducing you and your career before they brought you up on the stage and to be reminded of all the things that god has used you to do over the years. It was overwhelming. I said i want my audience especially younger folks. Who don't know you to know about this stuff. And then when you gave your speech i thought this is getting more ridiculous because it was one of the most moving beautiful speeches pat. It was amazing what you said. So we're going to put that on my youtube channel my personal youtube channel so people can watch it but let's just start there pat. How do you. i mean that that was. That was an amazing evening. What was your response. Or what were you feeling that evening to get this lifetime. Legend award well. It's ila mixture of feelings. Erica of course Happy that i was given being given an award and singled out amongst a lot of other people who i feel sure more worthy but very emotional because as you heard me say and i won't say at all is my life was getting underway in my late teens. I was asking god. This was personal just between me and him to use my life and some way that that would please him that would serve his purpose. We're up in the attic. You were sixteen years old or something like that. Yeah yeah about sixteen. I had claimed this raw unfinished attic. Full of kinda junk. That's everybody's excuse at my penthouse. Because my brother he was younger than me. We'd been sharing this double bid and our modest home in nashville for years and of course we were. We loved each other. We were brothers but each of us would like to head the bed and the privacy to himself when you hit sixteen. You're a man you want your own room so you head up to the attic. I understand so. I asked mom and dad if i could have the attic. And it's well. It's just an attic and i said yeah but there's room and i can put caught up there and it'll be my place and nick can have the double bed here downstairs and in the bedroom. So that's what we did. And i will say that being up there alone lot of the time i could study up there had light. It was raw. It was nobody people would have felt. Sorry for me. I guess but i enjoyed it because it was mine and i was. I had the privacy. So i used some of that time as a young christian to talk to god and just say i. I don't know where this road. I'll look out the window up this curving road out the window of the advocate. It went up the hill and around and around the bend and it was like a an assembly assembly or a parable to me about my life. My life is going around a bend. I don't know where i'm going. But god please use me in some way that will serve you and will bless all the people. It was a simple prayer. And i didn't know what i was asking but but i met it and i repeated it and and then i'd come down and have breakfast and go to school and I just never forgot that. I had pledged to myself. That what i didn't know what i didn't tell you i didn't mention that night because i'm the oldest of four kids and i've been blessed than many ways beyond my brother and two sisters. I love him and they love me. And we're very close. But i was singled out and i asked my mama since i was the first born. Did you ever do when. I read about little samuel. And and and his mom who he couldn't even have a child and god miraculously gave her the child then she raised him to heaven and and gave him to god. I said. Did you ever do anything like that with me. And she teared up. She'd never told me she said yes. On when you were just an infant Do before the lord and said he's yours lord using for your purposes. She never told me that until i asked her. As a you know in my fifties. I never knew she had taken her. First born son and like hannah and samuel just raised me up and said take him lord. He's yours so with all of my failings and faults and mistakes all through the years and i made plenty of people who know me know about him. God is blessed in us and directed my life and i've had that sense that That he had a purpose for me. Well it's it's just overwhelming and again you know for for people especially younger people tuning in who don't know when i mentioned to my cousin in greece Who i guess he's just seventy this year that That i had become friendly with you. He couldn't believe it. He thought pat boone. What he's in greece. But i mean the whole world of certain generations knows you knows that you were a recording star hitting every every bell that could be wrong top number one hits everything movies everything and of course younger people. Today they would. They would have no idea about that. So i said i wanna go over your career because you talked about this about giving your life to god having no idea. Let's be honest what what lies ahead. And what lay ahead for you. You met the queen of england twice. You met everybody. We can possibly think of Elvis you're friendly with all these people. Every bob hope whoever it is it is a staggering career. That you've had. And i just wanna go backwards and let me just ask you said you know the queen of england so you met the queen of england twice it's hedge. It's an embarrassment. It was because i met her twice. The second time was when i was deeply deeply embarrassed. the first time i was in college at at columbia university had transferred from north texas state to columbia was having hit records and my career was taking off an astonishing way so in college. You're having hit records and your careers taken off. So what nineteen twenty twenty one. Twenty two to twenty one as as i launched the first ever of of musical variety show for a guy my age at twenty one on On abc television. And then and i'm still in college. I'm taking classes every weekday and saturdays to at columbia university and siring four kids hiring for kids. That's is that the most delicate way you could put it pat boone siren where kids these lovely women that are now some of them grandmothers. Okay so

I'm glad to see that Fox News is starting to interview those folks up in South Lake. Who, uh, basically beat back teaching of hatred in our schools. Uh, NBC News. Got it wrong. They were appalled by the teaching of racism, taxpayer funded racism in our schools critical race theory, the 16 19 project, they were appalled. At the bastardization of our history. And the teaching of hatred for somebody's skin color. This particular case it happens to be white. We would not tolerate teaching hatred of blacks or Latinos. We shirt certainly shouldn't Tolerate the taxpayer funded teaching of hatred of whites. Teaching hate is never good. Never good. Never permissible in Gove Ed. Yet this is exactly what they were doing up in south leg. And upon hearing about it. 70% of South Lakes community rose up. We might even ask Bill around about this. He was a former high school teacher, as many of you know any rights historical books. That are Tremendously accurate. That air bear out real history. The teaching of hatred is catching on, however, inside of Democrat socialist circles I'm reading from Yahoo News, now a Texas Democrat Socialist. Is facing calls to resign. After he posted a racial slur aimed at Senator Tim Scott, a Republican from South Carolina. For those of you don't know Tim Scott is a black man. And one of the worst things you can do is trust me. I know the a person of color and wander off the Democrat Socialist Plantation. The only people who are allowed to have a point of view is if you agree with white liberals. If you disagree with white liberals, you lose claim to your heritage. You want to know why? I know why. Because After Senator Scott's eloquent And superior address. Beijing. Biden. Before the joint session of Congress. Um After he delivered that The The outpouring of racism from Democrats was Overwhelming. It was And this is something that I have known for years. This is something that ABC, NBC, CBS, The Democrat, Morning News. Have worked to hide. About Democrats, Socialists. But is it is there the originators? Of Jim Crow. They are the originators of the KKK Socialist Democrats. That's a matter of historical fact. And it's something they've been trying to hide Lo these many years. To erase the stain that socialism and Democrats have in racism and slavery. But After Tim Scott came out and just outshined Beijing Biden with a hopeful message. With a cogent message. With a message of freedom and liberty and These left wingers. Who are really some of the most hateful people in the plan. They could not, they could not. Let it go. "Recognized nonprofit, providing college career and life readiness programs to middle and high schoolers in underserved communities, with a little more than a month month and a half to go until the end of the school year. The like the students and family that the fact that we become face to face with students and we work with them and small groups, one on one And we help them complete all their college applications. Their financial aid forms do resumes and the workforce in life readiness training that these types of activities absolutely helped to change the trajectory and the lives of students. How has the cove in 19 pandemic affected the work that you do? And how did you pivot to make sure that you were still able to help the students that you serve? Well, that's very, very interesting. The good news and it is that we are small enough yet big enough flexible and agile enough that we were able to pivot pretty quickly. Actually, we got the news just as the school district's. "7 47 would be a Tuesday morning news continues. Got palabra until nine and Crystal Saito's him here. So get ready for that at nine o'clock. Alright, how I need some help on the numbers. You're his guy. Hold on. I've got my computer here in front of me. I want you to explain this to me because we haven't heard much about this. We've heard about the new strain of covert. We've heard that it is more contagious. We've heard about increases, you know, daily. We heard about Tarrant County on things of that nature. But then we've also heard. Don't worry about this New street. Have a week. I haven't heard Dad know that you may have heard. I haven't. I haven't heard. Don't worry about it. Nobody talked about the new strains, and that's really You know, it's kind of a normal thing for it to happen. Yeah, but by not worry, they meant just it's not more. It doesn't do more damage to you, doesn't it? You stick? Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Go ahead. Go ahead. The U. S code hospitalizations. Have dropped to their lowest point since January. 2nd In 10 states. New cases are falling. So as of today, there are fewer people in the hospital with co Vered Then at any point in 2021. Okay. And the question you have. Why aren't we hearing about that? Why aren't we want You know what? Why is that number not of interest. Why is the fact that 10 states have actually are actually seen a decrease in the number of cases? I guess, because I mean, Terry County here we are. Pops in the state force as far as CO Vered cases. You know, hospitals aren't full, but I mean, do you know we're having a We're having a terrible time with covert here in North Texas, But when you were you were just huh? But when you look at the state of Texas New cases per million 566. That's half of California. That's half of South Carolina. That's half of Virginia. They have over 1000 new cases per million. Well, I just go by the numbers. That's what I'm doing. I'm you see, that's what I'm using The numbers here. Yeah, yeah. I mean, these are actual numbers. Texas at 5 66 per million. Virginia's and 1161 per million Well, it's like saying you've got lung cancer, but it's Listen. It's only in one lung this, so you'll have to worry. But so you've got 1000 cases, one state or one place 500, the others. Still, you got the cases. And you have to worry about it. You know? So why is no one talking about this? This decrease that we're seeing? Why is no one talking about the fewer number of hospitalizations and believe me, I'm not one to say that we're rounding the corner on anything. Yeah. But but you know these air these are some positive signs. You finally make a guess I'd have to think we'll probably start hearing about it and 27 hours and 10 minutes. You think so? There it was down to Thursday. Thursday it will be held. The president has gotten finally got a grip on this right? Right. Well, that's true. Yeah, I mean, well, you know, you pay attention to that. You let it make you mad or whatever you wanna do, but that's what's gonna happen. This is part of the 100 Million vaccinations and 100 days that Joe Biden has put forth. Yeah. Even though his administration says that 100,000 Americans will die in the next five weeks. They still are, you know, saying, Hey, we could We think we can do this 100 million vaccinations in 100 days on October 22nd. He said that 200,000 people will die of covert between that day in the end of the year, right that that happened. No, no, we're getting close to 400,000 total. Do you mean death? Yes. Yeah. I don't know what I don't know if you look I don't know how to look at numbers, right? Like this. All I know. Is it all around me? We had a friend. I've this Last week. Government Hmm. And that's all I look it up. So I just think it's so I just think it's a bad bad deal. But you gotta be aware of. Yeah. Traffic lights. All traffic right now. Here's money.
