"Now, listen, This show is all about help, and I'm serious about that, Okay? It's It's not about politics. It's not about religion. It's not about being right or wrong. It's being helpful if you've been lied to cheated or ripped off. That doesn't mean we don't have our own thoughts about things. But who cares right now. Now what I want to tell you is this we talk about Social issues as they pertain to our pocketbook, so I will definitely do that. But you know what I'd like to do. I'd like to. Ah know how you feel right now, though, how you feel right now about, um, restaurants and theaters and our theaters open now or water? They still closed. I feel kind of bad for these places and ideas open. Really Okay. I talked to, um, I talked to some people the other night in the restaurant business. And they say they're making it but they they just aren't making the same. And if this goes on for a long time. They have to make some serious adjustments. Now this goes for everyone in a business that requires volume, even retail. I mean, if you look at Cherry Creek Mall It's It's a ghost town compared to what it wass and I don't know how people are making it. I'd like you to call in. If you run a business and tell us how it's affecting you, and if we can help out, we will. Whether it should be affecting you or not. That's a whole different discussion. Right? Are we still overreacting, even though the worldwide death told the death rate is 0.4% worldwide, less than any other flu The problem is, it's so contagious that a lot of people get it. Not a lot of people die, but a lot of people get it. So is there another way to handle it? Instead of shutting down and and limiting all restaurants in all theaters and all sporting events? Can we just target people at risk? Is there a better way to do it? Does anyone you know we always talk about what's wrong and how we overreacted. But is there a better way to do it? Why not talk about that? Is there a better way to do it? Okay, let's first talk about this Toyota Tacoma. Bev in what year? Is this Toyota? Tacoma. This Toyota Tacoma that I bought is a 2008. Okay, 2008. When did you buy it? It was early in July. I'm not positive A Where did you buy it? Where it was in North Colorado Springs at Early. Overlay. Chevrolet Chevrolet. I'm sorry. Northern Colorado ship is it is a gold dealer show. Is it called North Colorado Springs, Chevrolet. No Mike Maroone E o Maroni away. Got it. Maroni? Okay, So what's the problem? So we bought the home. Basically, it's my dream truck I want in this truck forever and ever to comas are pretty nice. Yeah, What's so what's going on with one in this track? On. So we put about 4000 miles on it. We bought this truck. It was perfect. Everything. How many miles were on it? How many miles when you bought it, Bevin? I believe it was 124. Okay and honor. Okay, £1000, and you put it on. We put 4000 Miles. Sorry. So what's the problem? So we were driving up by 70 who go on an adventure. Go up Tio Winter part to do some downhill mountain biking and I heard what I thought. Maybe with a big rock. Hit the undercarriage of the vehicle. And then all of a sudden the oil light tops on I'm like, Oh, no. So we try to get to the side of the road as fast as possible. Yeah, going down there off round to see married Glacier and The engine stopped, like everything stops. It's just it's dead. And I'm like. Oh, great. Okay, now, Bevin. What did you find? What? What caused it? Did you hit something or what caused it? Nothing. I didn't hit anything We were so so. So let's go to the part of the story happen. Let's go to the part of the story, though. Where you know something is wrong. What is it right now? What's wrong with it? Well, the oil light popped on right, So right and we started it was starved of oil. How did he get starved of oil? The oil drain plug fell out as far as Holy. When did the road When did the oil drain? Plug fallout? I'm Korean. That the noise that I heard was the oil drain, plug falling out hitting the underside of the carriage of the vehicle. We're not big. They're not that big dream plug, right? Right, Okay. But hold on. Did you seize your engine? I hope not. Did you Yes, sir. I did. And they won't they? They're not going to help me. Bevan Bevan, let's let's let's step back here. And I promise you the reason I do. This kind of questioning is to see if we can help you. But why should they help you at the oil plug fell out. Because I'm not the one whose service They were. I've got a vehicle from a dealership that had a check engine light on it. They performed a service. To remove that check engine light, and they did an oil change. During an oyster in service you are she should be able to drive the vehicle as Faras Toyota recommend Devon Miles Bevin. I agree. That if I bought a car or took the car in for service that I would never checked the oil plug. I agree. It's not routine maintenance. I don't I'm not gonna be getting under my vehicle on making seven. But then I totally I totally agree with you. The question is Will they admit that or will they say? If you pulled over sooner, like, how are we going to know how many miles you went with that light on your saying you pulled over immediately. Is that right? As soon as I could get safely to the side of the road. Yes. Can you tell me and be as honest as you possibly can? How? From the time that oil light came on. About how many miles did you go? About a mile, sir. It was right in Idaho Springs. And I heard you sure. Are you sure? And by the way today being Friday is car day, I'd like to get Jeff Pecan or Kevin Kalkan or any of our experts. Are you sure the engine is toast right now. That's what they're telling me. I know the vehicle towed back to the dealership. I had to purchase the Triple A Plan I got and I have the vehicle towed back to them. And that's what they told me. Two weeks later after I had to call and repeatedly call well, Bevin Bevin, Okay, I understand that part. I know you. Listen, I'm not sure I would have taken it back to the dealer. They have a vested interest in showing. It's not their fault. But I agree with you if they did an oil change and did not secure the oil drain plug, and it fell out. That they have some responsibility. However, there is going to be a major controversy as to whether or not you went too far and seized the engine or not. Mark do you feel if you had a car? And somebody changed your oil. That's what it amounts to. It doesn't amount to a used car purchase. Let's just say somebody changed her oil and you're driving up the mountain and the plug fell out. Would you be pissed off? It seems next to impossible when.

"Well I. Think you know. The one thing about This particular event with the Cancer Society is that year year it is a volunteer led and American Cancer Society staff supported. So you know it's a very local flavored meaningful event in each year the cancer society and. Group of past chairs Identify people that have been. I think involved in the community and involved or touched in by cancer in some way, and we actually were asked in March of two thousand nineteen by Julian warned Yoder who were the two thousand, nineteen chairs if we would. Consider. Coming on as Co chairs for twenty twenty and having been touched by cancer in our families, and of course, with me being North Colorado medical, center for so many years and affiliated with the Cancer Institute. It was important for us to. Say. Yes and That's what we did. I'm so glad to did I couldn't have so many great leaders in our community have been a part of this over the years and I'm so glad that you and Julia are taken the helm this year. So I can't even imagine how busy you are preparing for this we we connected briefly the other day and I know you're in meetings all the time things are changing constantly So how do you choose your committee chairs and how many subcommittees do you have as part of the cattle baron's ball this year? Well, we have We have I would say about eight, ten different groups, and. We Chase people based on a couple of things. One a lot of times There are people who have served in a chair capacity of a committee area in the past who obviously have done very well with it and would like to continue contributing their time. So the first thing that we do is look at people who have been involved in the past and would like to continue and then we that's one of our major responsibilities is selecting chairs and We look at people who are Involved in the community and interested in expanding their involvement to other organizations, people who frankly are known as people who can get things done and willing to devote energy and. To the task we have. silent auction, and live auction groups that have chairs which you thankfully have said you would help with and lead in the silent auction area. This year, it will be combined into one online auction, but we also have volunteer coordinator facility decor just every committee that is needed to support. "HSE podcast. You know when you hear that beautiful British voiceover and then my voice comes on then you definitely know. We are global in nature. So we're sponsored by Anderson Hauser. A global leader themselves in process automation and measurement instrumentation innocent houser the people for process automation. Well guys. I don't know when you're going to be listening to this recording. I hope you're not stuck in place by the time you hear this. You may be were stuck in place right now. Is We make this podcast. Still working from home still trying to be. I was texting someone the other day. I said you know working from home trying to be a functional adult in the spell. Check on my phone when. I type the word functional. Route up the word fictional so I feel. Maybe more like a fictional adult than functional adult. I know the closeness among family has been tough for some folks you know. Maybe a little too much closeness. I heard a statistic the other day that four out of five people felt closer because they had been brought together. And all this but that one out of five. That was a different story. Fact I heard about a married couple of the other day and they head kind of had a little little too much too much closeness and finally the guy lost it and he said you know I was a fool when I married you and she replied yes. I know but I was in love with United Notice at the time so anyway one of the ways to deal with this is to try to laugh. There's an old saying that whatever you can laugh at you can learn to accept. There's an old saying among pilots. When you get into trouble up in the air. They say fly the plane and what that means is don't lose focus yet to focus in the middle of the storm. You have to do what you would normally do to survive. You know. You've probably all heard the famous story from the late. Dr Robert Schuler. Who was this famous motivational positive mental attitude guy and all that sort of thing and one day he had to speak. I believe it was at an Iowa farmers conference and they had like the worst drought or the worst crop in seventy five years or something like that and and he was you know how is he gonNA come in and present all this positive mental attitude stuff and finally. He stood up before them and as he began to talk about the situation he said tough times never last but tough people do and that actually became the title of one of his bestselling books. And so that's kind of where we all are here right now folks tough times never last but tough people do and as a matter of fact. I have as my guest today a couple of people who exemplify that. I have with me Nick Wilson and his partner James Browder and guys are from a company called sanitizer for all and we're going to talk about how that came about. Hello Nick and Hello James. You guys there. Yes Sir how are you? I'm good? We're hoping you know one of the problems with this working from home and staying in place and all at you know. Usually I do these podcasts. And I'm looking at you in the eye. This makes it a little more little more difficult and we're hoping the marvels of modern technology. Not Let us down here so nick. Let's start with you. Actually both of you are originally from Texas. But I'm talking to you you're in Colorado right now right just sir. We're both appear in Colorado. I'm in Denver affectionately referred to by some of US is North Texas. Yes it is a lot of Texans up here although I don't think the people in Colorado appreciate that so my apologies for that nick. Let's start with you. Tell us about yourself your sir well. I'm here Denver and I like calling it North Colorado. I Miss Texas but I do love Colorado. There's a lot of Texans up here and we have bluebell but you know James Started. He's a founder. And pull me in here just in the past few weeks sanitizer for all. I've been in oil gas just a little over ten years now and I told you Russell the first thing for me all gas was actually the deepwater horizon response the pulled me in so I kinda come full circle here a little bit. Okay so wait a minute wait a minute now. This is an HSE PODCAST. So of course things like deep water. That definitely gets our attention. So how were you involved in it yet? Why I wasn't Texas in right after happen at a lot of friends that went over in the Disaster Emergency Response Sector. You know the industry Good friends from college. Sam Houston State University where I got a Mexico where I'm at James. They were over in Pensacola. And I went to go help with the cleanup aspect working on the beaches in the I kinda hops skipped in a jump to grant Louisiana and I was there for a few months working with fishing wildlife. You know everyone else down there. We're all contract. You know under talking about environmental cleanup. Is that what we're talking about? That is right. Yes so that your specialty is the environment. Well that's where I started. I started down there for a few months in a tie back suit cleaning up. Whatever came ashore run around you know South Grand. Dial skiffs the government entities in. You know putting booms outs in decontamination. And it was a very high opening experience oil and gas. Not The roots are expected going to school to work in sports entertainment. But that was you know. Right right after the Mix of the big recession in. That came up and I said well. There's a lot of work that needs to be done down there nights good friends. I went out and did that for awhile right after that after that. Hot Summer in South Louisiana were Suit you know twelve hours a day at twelve hours but a good bit of the day is when I came up here to Denver once again. A lot of friends gasping from Texas. I got into the gas sector working on rigs in kind of progress since then. She'll what we're doing on the rigs. I started as a madman worked for. Halberg up here in Colorado Wyoming and Jane's have a pretty big network of friends growing down Texas. Of course you know working on a gas but SAM HOUSTON. We both played rugby. And a lot of guys at Sam. Houston we had. Some good mentors. Are Godfather. His name cheeseburger? Nickname nicknamed nicknames in. He recommended some of us to go out and work in the field because he was doing. That is mud man to so james was one he can tell you about that and I was one as well and that's kind of where we both started in oil a GAT while I started cleaning up but for the brunt of it I've been working on. The drilling side is a you know as drilling fluids engineer. Well it's a fancy way. Exactly exactly that's actually the mud. Man Does not get his. Do you think about everything involved in drilling and Olawale and I'm a little bit. I'm a little bit biased here. Because that's besides environmental got into the drilling fluids side as well also have been much school but you know the only thing holding everything together is the drilling fluid and the only thing making that whole you know drill and cleaning it out is the drilling fluids. So it's really important for those of you listening and again we do have a very global network. These guys are referring to the Houston Texas area. Which of course everyone will recognize the school. Sam Houston State is about sixty sixty five miles. North of Houston actually have a friend who is a mud. Engineer also got his start in hospital his Sam Houston State graduate. The funny part is he got his degree in Criminal Justice which Sam Houston State. University is known worldwide for its Criminal Justice Degree program graduated with that Criminal Justice degree on Saturday and Monday started mud school and had looked back since what reminded me though is he's from Canada originally and he also played rugby and I find a little strange that have good southern school of you know. I didn't know even played rugby and Texas Russell who is at by the Fella Grant Petersen. He's long long before y'all's time though. He owns conquest drilling fluids. So all right James. Tell us about yourself. Well I've got a background very similar to Knicks I. I started in the timber processing industry before and oil and gas and housing market crash. I can seven sure everybody remembers and put me out of a job men and that was the first time I've been laid off what I was seeing in oil and gas kind of reminded me of those times. You make decisions. I made to start this company after that off. It what I could do to make ends meet Allan Opportunity. Amongst friends the same friends that Nichols from Sam Houston State got my resume in front of Halliburton and the next thing. You know I'm a mortgage near did that for a few years. I learned quite a bit about the job of doing the best job in the field and got another opportunity to go to work for breaking supply. There're a wholesale drilling fluids that enables retail smaller retail companies to pursue work as a retail company. So I got to work with dozens of drilling fluids. Companies from a very small to the very large in eventually became air. Us supply chain manager learned a lot of the process procurement of the products that are used the importing products that are imported in at the beginning of this whole thing Kobe nineteen. I didn't really connect the dots of our might be able to make that work for the business. Eventually I started looking into it and realize that some of these products that people couldn't get like hand sanitizer to buy you to get a new who me okay. So let's backup here just a minute. So both you and nick though you first of all became casualties of this latest oil and gas downturn and all that sort of thing is that correct or did it. I did I. I was recently just with Weatherford whether I had a large layoff. Just like most of the major service companies hearing last so is about it's been a blur last. Few weeks search accusing. I think it was about three weeks ago. Now that was a casualty with Weatherford James. Audit you with him with break. Him actually never ended up getting laid off. You saw the handwriting on the wall and you saw another opportunity then hung rats etta the curve. It seemed inevitable that I would be laid off just like anybody working in our industry. It just seemed obvious that it was probably going to happen and I decided not to wait for that to happen and took these steps company. Okay so this company has sanitizer for all will put the website. It's SANITIZER FOR ALL DOT com. We'll put the website in the show notes. So James You started this company. When when did you start?.

"And demanding whenever I hear a news news broadcast or report something concerning. California's if there are only two places in the world wherever I'm listening in from California. The needs of the union are more important than just the needs and wants of of one St. particularly California. I think we should vote to just kick them out of the union camp. Jim, I will ask the, Mexico and agenda. I I don't lump all Californians in with the politicians that want sanctuary cities the night. Yeah. The new the new California New California governor wants a sanctuary state any illegal come on in. We'll we'll welcome all of you. That's Gavin Newsom who is clearly an idiot. But there are plenty of Californians who don't like the way their government operates, municipality wise, state wise. I in fact, there was a movement at some some point last year. I remember there's been trying to secede as far as having a northern California. And then a southern California because you do have areas of conservatism where the ideologies are quite different in the state of California that didn't go anywhere. It was also that move in in Colorado some years ago a North Carolina north Colorado at a a South Carolina, Colorado is well, Jim thanks for the call. Let's ramp. Terry Terry is in Panama City, Florida back to the Florida, panhandle. Terry good. I'm glad Terry got in on this chatter of using disaster relief money needed by hurricane victims in Florida and other spots to build the wall, Terry, you're on Schnitt. Hello. Schmidt. I think a lot of chatter get drummed up by the Democrats to even make prompt look worse because there's still a lot of work to do. And I just don't think Trump is gonna take money that needs to go to Panama City Mexican beach port Saint Joe these communities get these families back to where they need speed. I think that that would be too much. I think this is just a lot of rumor crap coming from the Democrats to even make Trump look even worse than what he's not. You know, you can't you can't attributed all just Democrats because there has been rumblings coming out of Republicans on this. And I agree. I hope the president would not take money earmarked for disaster relief. Just some more of the details here, and I know it doesn't sit well with the previous caller from the panhandle. Your in Panama City doesn't sit. Well with you. What we do know is that the White House has directed. The. The army corps of engineers to go through its budget to find money for the wall, including including thirteen point nine billion dollars earmarked for Puerto Rico, Florida and Texas, and then an additional disaster areas in twelve other states officials in Puerto Rico and don't get me started on some of the Puerto Rican. Governmental officials when we have problems there. But they came out this morning saying that put politics aside, because I agree with the statement that diverting disaster money for the wall was unacceptable. I know that a lot of people in Florida in the panhandle affected by the hurricane will also agree with that. But that that's what's being. That's what's being talked about. What was that money earmarked for for the cord engineers to work on? I would want to see what projects that was going towards. If it was going towards like rebuilding of Mexico beach, infrastructure and things like that that I would have a problem with it. Engineers related then maybe okay? How's that going? Perfect. If a poor Hanes off on doing certain things the wall. Well, the the issue here Terry is his the money the thirteen point nine billion for the army corps of engineers was specifically you're marked for the army corps to infrastructurally infrastructurally rebuild and work on these disaster areas. So the money would be taken away from folks like you and Panama City, Florida and then use. Exactly, I think we're we're all in agreement there it shouldn't. We gotta figure out another way to build the wall. Not by taking that money and not by the declaration of a national emergency, Terry. Thanks for the call. Appreciate it. If you're on hold Georgia, New York, California, Florida, Texas, if you're on hold hang on. We'll get you calls coming up in just a bit Huron Schnitt. Sponsor this half hour.
