"In the Middle East now and look at the other tournament that was taking place out there. We had the Doha ATP to 50 in Qatar. And yeah, interesting final because we had Daniel meve in his second final in a row going for a second title in a row. Up against Andy Murray, another former world number one. Andy Murray coming through in classic dramatic Murray fashion throughout the week. So many match points saved. Saving 8 match points, a couple of last set tie breaks. He is Andy Murray the most entertaining player on the ATP tour these days. I mean, he definitely was at the Australian open for me. And I just genuinely think he provides the most value for money, almost. I think he's the story of the season so far arguably. I mean, he had a wild card into Doha. Again, I wasn't really expecting a lot. Yes, we've seen him play some fantastic matches at the Australian open. And he was in that first week. He really was I think the story of the particularly on the men's side. The story of the tournament. But again, it's been impressive to see him bring that to Doha and just show just what a battler and how mentally strong he is whenever he's down all these match points. He can just bring out his best tennis and really, really challenge his opponent that it is not done until it is done and it was amazing for him to get through all the way to the final and although he came up a little bit short against Medvedev. To me it was a little bit understandable because I watched some of the I watched the final and there were times when I was just thinking, does Murray look a little bit leggy given how many hours he's put onto the court in this tournament, but also this season as well. Yeah, so in just to get to the final, you know, it was up again, so it was Murray Medvedev and it did end Medvedev straight sets 6 four 6 four over Murray, which I mean, Chris, do you think that was kind of an acceptable score line, I suppose? It's Murray, you know, kind of obviously had a long battle to get to the final, probably quite knackered up against Medvedev who is much younger and was on his own little streak. What did you make of Murray in the actual final was this kind of a reasonable result given the conditions and where he's at really in his part in his career now nowadays? Yeah, I think it's a really tricky matchup for him in terms of Medvedev is also someone who makes you beat him. Especially at the moment. And so I think in this one, it was always going to be an uphill battle to get that ball through the court. Murray's not necessarily known as being one of the biggest hitters but this week I do think he did hit the ball a lot harder than I've seen him, especially on some of the big points he was pretty fearless. So it was one where I could maybe see this going three, but I think kind of the key key thing for me was that if Medvedev was on, this would be a very difficult challenge, even if he hadn't had that much time on court previously. But so many positives though, I think, generally, although that was a 6 four 6 four loss, the only time he did get to only play two sets and unfortunately he was on the wrong side of that one. But you've got to feel for Judy Murray. I mean, I think she did a tweet saying, can't you just get it done in two? Because the amount of times you must have spent watching her son on court this year is something else, isn't it? He's paying everyone, I feel in British tennis, connected to people she sent us through the ringer at the moment, but yeah, great, great result. I think he has already pulled out of Dubai given just he doesn't want to kind of force it. And he's obviously aware of his limitations, but yeah, great week for Murray. Yeah, but also up quite a bit in the rankings to 52 in the world. So yeah, I mean, that's great stuff. And Medvedev also continuing his good form as the first player to get back to back titles this season on the ATP tour. We did also have another well, we had quite a few ATP tournaments last week. Let's go out to the golden swing. And another Britain the final. Another point in the final different result this time though, because we had a Brit win. So Cameron norrie playing out in the Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and was up against Carlos alcaraz top seed world number two in the final. Again, we did say that it was looked like it was going to be another outcross. Exactly. Yeah, golden swing next installment, alcaraz and nori show. Does that mean the Rio open was just like a bigger, a bigger draw, but just slightly more filler. Is that what we're taking from that? Yeah, basically, a couple more serendip in there maybe. More than two third brother of the cerron dolos. Yes. They're actually triplets. But they're not twins, are they? They're just brothers. Oh, I don't know anyway. Let's not get into the seren dolo family tree. But yeah, Cameron nori, he's a winner on the HB tour again. 5 7 6 four 7 5. He came back to win in three sets against Carlos alcaraz. Yeah, Joel, what did you make of the final what did you make of norrie actually being able to topple alcaraz? Because when I saw there in the final, together again, I just kind of assumed it was going to go the same way, but what was the deciding factor in him turning that match around? Do you think? Yeah, I think a lot of people were sort of expecting all same matchup, same result. I do wonder that Carlos alcaraz did look like he was suffering from a possible leg injury.

"I think David itch for kino was playing very well in Medvedev lithium is coach being like I don't really believe in my game and it's probably going to end up being a 6 four 6 four result he said. That's why he had that sort of the rolling sort of motion because he said just continue play and keep playing you play yourself into form. So that was probably one of the biggest results of the tournament because if you hadn't got that together, we wouldn't be seeing the resurgence of him here. Are there other results to say anything? I think he did well to pick up a two 50 last week, but against Medvedev I don't think it ever looked like he was going to get that done after that first set. I think he had a really clear game plan in the first set and then he was just trying to pull the trigger too early. Like he was out of ideas. And you have to be really patient against someone like Medford, especially on an indoor court. And for me, it was kind of the lack of point construction in that last set. It just felt like a bit of a foregone conclusion. So there was some good matches earlier in the week I'd say, obviously with holger, it's a shame that he was injured and he had to pull out. I think he'd been playing too much tennis. I was shocked that he went from Davis Cup straight to Montpellier and then to Rotterdam. And I think if you take an example of someone, someone like eager, who's taking some time off, she looked fresh as anything, and she's even fresher after barely stepping on court this week. So I think maybe it would be good for some of these sort of players who are really plugging your weight at the moment. Such as senator, he's playing this week as well. To take a bit of time and kind of get their heads straight and get themselves into peak condition because it did it like physically. He was struggling. It's quite difficult with scheduling, isn't it? I did enjoy the fact that we did get a Stan Wawrinka Richard Gasquet second round match in 2023. That's a three. It's funny you mentioned Gasquet because I think this cues are newest segment. Who is the current top freshman? In 19 ranking. French male player I believe in the top 50. He seems to be. Wow. He just seems to be perennial, still doing it. On the tour, which is fair blade. He's got an incredible longevity. But yeah, I was almost a little bit surprised because yeah, because favreau defeated public. I know public has been on a bit of a losing streak. I think he stopped that today. And Gasquet came through PCBs. So yeah, I was quite a vintage vintage throwback match up there. And it was nice to see I think Grigor Dimitrov get to a semifinal. I think it's always nice to see him play well, get to the far end of a big tournament. And you had some very good wins, particularly against de manor, third set tiebreak, was very, very fine. Had an incredible passing shot winner on match point. Quite light seeing Dimitrov do well in that bottom half of the draw. Yeah, I'm surprised bublik has any rackets left to play with and to borrow one I heard. That's the way to Kim. Shouldn't go smashing them around, should he? And just one last thing on Rotterdam, Joel, I know you are a purveyor of slightly odd tour level trophy. The Rotterdam trophy explain, it's like, I can't really make kettle turn. It's like, it's a very odd one. It's like a square that YouTubers get as a kind of a celebration if they get like a 100,000 subscribers. They go like a plaque. And I wonder if that was the inspiration behind what Medvedev is seemingly holding, which I feel looks more like a plaque than a trophy, a window of an is hotel? Yeah, it looks like something that would be in the waiting room of a spa or salon. It looks like something you nicked from the ice hotel in die another day, doesn't it? It does a bit. But at least he's got himself a pretty hefty paperweight, you know? Yeah, or doorstop. But we know anything goes, anything goes when it comes to making up the trophy design of an ATP and WTA Tour event. It's stackable Joel. That's quite good. Stackable, unlike some of them, which are quite pointy, you might not get the Paris masters. It goes very true, yeah. Yeah, at least you can transport the roster on one home. That would be quite cool. Actually, for like, imagine like rapha, you know, he's one like Barcelona like 11 times or whatever and actually each trophy was like a jigsaw or a part of a puzzle that completed a mosaic or something, I don't know. It'd be quite funny. Let's have a look at what happened out in Delray Beach, which is the ATP two 50 event. Cam norrie, I think, was the defending champion here, but had elected to play in Argentina instead. Which we think is to do with the fact that he was in Colombia for Davis Cup just prior. So yeah, defending champion not out in Delray Beach. But a whole plethora of as you would expect American players, as it's on their home turf. And it was an American player who won because it was Taylor Fritz, who came through to clinch this title up against the Serbian mirror mirror in the final 6 love 5 7 6 two. So a bit of our second set hiccup for Taylor Fritz, but he managed to come through pretty comfortably either side of that second set to get the title. This is 5th ATP tour title and his first of the season. Chris, what did you make of the final and Taylor Fritz this week? He was the top seed. So theoretically on paper, it was his to lose looking at kind of the other players that we had in the draw. Yeah, I think it's one of those two 50s that we talked about. I think last week that you expect the top seed to come away with a bit like organic center, took the two 50 in Montpelier and I think it was similar results in the WTA where not similar because we thought sakari would be the top seed that would seal it. So it doesn't always happen. It can be especially playing at home. It can be a tricky one to get over the line when there's all that home support for you, but obviously he likes playing in front of a home crowd. Picking up the title, obviously Indian Wells last year. In terms of the tournament as a whole, I think it's obviously a very dominated by mail players. It's a shame that Ben Shelton didn't go further. I mean, American players I should have said, but I was going to say I was one.

"So yeah, there's lots of ancient writings about these giant ancient and I should say the right, there are writings about giants and they're called that and Aki and stuff like that. But if you take them out of context, you can definitely make it sound like the story, like these aliens game here from the Dead Sea scrolls like I was talking about earlier. But in reality it's a fun one and I like that one. I hope that's ancient fucking aliens came down here and just made us what we are today kickstarted us into our journey of society and the Giants just left because the shitty fucking weather here. I love that. If you figure if they can fly all over here, they'd be able to check the weather and go like fuck wrong place. Let's not go there. But they went, they came anyway. David Ike, I don't know if you know who David Ike is. Oh yeah, they have British conspiracy theorists behind the reptilian. He says these anarchies are actually like reptilians, sure, and they kind of takes he kind of takes the stories and jams them together like that's why we have like we're all like some people are reptiles that they master DNAs together. It all goes back to the Denver airport. It's so cool. Now they're not keep repelling stuff. I will include another episode. Yeah, I can't really do the whole anonymity thing. There's too much to it because it's lots and it's super interesting. It's super fun. So if you ever want to just ancient aliens, it's all fucking just fun to watch and listen to, but how real is it? Eh. You know? There's realistic Bible. Exactly. The Bible's part real. So how much of this is real? What do you guys think about giants? Did the U.S. actually go up there and kill? Did this the thing, or is this some guy who just wanted to catch him on George norrie? So like giants just indisputably are not real. There's no fucking way. It's one of those silly things that people say for attention or to make their lives more interesting. However, if they were, you can bet the United States Army fucking killed it. No, I disagree. The united states army would have weaponized it. That's true. You think you think there's a reality where both of those narratives fit and that they killed it and then they brought it back sort of like a Resident Evil three nemesis type deal or where they trained it and then it went south so they had to kill it. They gave it green beret training. The green beret was actually a giant? No, the green beret were trained by the Giants. And that's how they're so good now. That's true. Yeah, I'm with Rick then because if there was a giant there and they did encounter it and that was the case, whatever went down, the Iraq War would have gone a lot smoother because there would have been like 500,000 giants deployed to Saddam Hussein's palace and then spider hole. When did you when did you serve mister Virgil? Also, how tall are you? That was a good one. I got out 5 years ago. Oh, okay, so I was just wondering if maybe you'd heard about giants on base, you know? Thank you for your service. I had heard about this online before, but just on Reddit, never anything from anyone I knew. You never know what kind of shit flies around.

Three ninety-six ninety-six ninety-six yesterday A young woman from cork embarked on of fundraising campaign to 'em raise funds for md which she's also joining me now to talk about Raising awareness of an md. Good morning jim dunnigan. Good morning fiona how are you. I'm very well jemma. Your poor mom contracted md and she passed away. What kind of impact that have on you and your entire family. It was absolutely our chattering. Feel not you know my mom. She was only fifty when she was diagnosed cleared on again And she was just a month after fifty nine th birthday when she passed away mom. Was you know an avid gym goer. Very healthy very fish and amazing nurse. A mother a friend a wife When she got her diagnosis a diagnosis of empty. With no cause and no cure and and the nature of the disease is it's progressively debilitating an ultimately terminal for her family for it was just. It was absolutely devastating devastating and currently of four hundred people living with de in ireland. So there's presumably like four hundred dollars for families going through the same pain that your family had to go through exactly exactly. There's over four hundred in in ireland. There's actually fifty four in car alone So it's it's just you know an particularly down about where we're from There it's it's really affected our community huge For for a family to try and get their heads around. It's just it's so difficult but for the individual themselves were dealing daily with loss of function and ultimately you know that they won't be here most likely the majority of md suffers. Aren't here in three years time. You know so to be facing that. It's just it's just really hard to get your head around To daily loss of function you know for my mother was huge for a woman who had been so strong and so independent and then to to be facing this was just. It was so difficult for her to get through something that i would certainly say that we we noticed as a family And for anybody else. Who's going through something similar is you're so much more than what you can do. You know the essence of of a person the essence of who you are is so much more than what you can. Do you know that must be so difficult for you and other family members to watch though because it's such a. I think it's just such a cruel illness. Isn't it such a cruel condition because as you say it's a tax The the brain and spinal cord un's gradually gradual progression where people walk and talk exactly an in lot of cases it is quite rapid for some people You know even my mom passed away. Quite suddenly at five months into her diagnosis. A lot of people so for you know very end stage of this disease which is You know muscle wasting and weakening lots of speech swallow loss of voluntary movement amd breathing function can be affected your emotions the way that you actually. Pink times can be affected depending on the individual's diagnosis. And just you know. I suppose the no cause and no cure is just. It's very very difficult For people turn to keep hope you know with that diagnosis. And i think that's where the. Da comes in and really really help joseph as well which was the the kind of support the fundraising that that we carried out there on saturday and thus there's one hundred and three intrinsic in the walk while you can Challenge at the moment who are raising awareness. Invitee funds for the i am da So i suppose that that for us in the midst of mums diagnosis. It was a huge source of hope and a huge source of joy to be able to be involved in something like this and the im nda they were able to give you. I suppose advice and support you know because you don't really very difficult to try and talk about it. I'm assuming to older people who haven't gone through is so at least if there's a support there that you know that you have somebody that you can talk to exactly exactly so the da. The offered counseling grant homecare grants equipment and most importantly they had four. I am in the specialist nurses who travel countrywide to the the sufferers of india at the moment and the fundraising that we did at the weekend was the wall while you can challenge. I'm not sure if you've ever hard division if any of the listeners have ever heard it's Originally father twenty coups who was a sufferer of md had traveled in his wheelchair with a team from leisure. Kenyan donegal down to build a hard where. I'm actually from where mom lived all her life so it was very poignant for us that he had done this. You know in the midst of his diagnosis and face. This challenge to raise awareness and funds the phones. He actually raised on ended. Up hiring a fourth indy nurse so in two thousand eighteen he he. He created an offence to actually hire the fourth nurse. that actually came to our door. Two years later you know. Offer all support so it was very poignant and it was you know it just goes to show you know you never know how far something is from your own door. You know on if anybody who does want to support the cause or if anybody does need to get some information do they just contact the. Im nda themselves. They're a website mr Yeah so the the day have their websites and and you can. You don't register with them. They'll offer information pack. And you know if it's something that you're experiencing your yourself and reach out to them. They're they're you know and they're amazing and they really helped mom post diagnosis to to kind of you. Know remained living life to the full as she would have wanted general. Yeah thank you for coming on the air. Most very difficult i suppose no to talk about. But you're you're doing brilliantly and raising. I any any chance to go when mother on the phone. What was she like. You were saying that she was an amazing woman. Always she was just fabulous. She was just one of those people who she was like sunshine personified. You just naturally gravitate towards her. She was just an angel. One of those very special. We were lucky to have her and she's obviously passed it on to you is why because you sound say very prices. Well thanks guys. And how many siblings have you. I see have you got a brother brother and a sister and my brother jason. My sister marie. And then my dad jimmy earl. Flying the flag for an ability. "And one of the hospitalizations thus 'em saw an increase was far eating disorders. Which were up. Sixty six percent compared to two thousand. Nineteen i'm body wise Subsequently had issued a stay Study survey which found that there was an increase in the amount of boys who were presenting for eating disorders. Joining me on the line is Fear now kennedy. good morning. Fina morning fiona and this rise in am eating disorders among boys. Were you surprised not at all fan. I'm grateful for the opportunity to come and talk about this issue because it's so under addressed in the world of eating disorders. Not at all it. Was i surprised. Because i suppose when you think about the pandemic in-and-out itself there was a lot of fearful energy that surround that a lot of lack of control. Our resources were pulled from us and so on. So adolescence and i primarily work in in the adolescent field a of their contacts and the things that we would have ian. Oh i suppose an irish percents Were robbed from them and so a lot of them set out to sort of. They put their energies into self-improvement which was very much around. Daiei saying around and losing some weight becoming fisher an unfortunate for money. The was fertile ground which needs to be present for the emergence of an eating disorder not not existed and then of course they shot up and so upset. I would even see within my own practice at the manors. How there's certainly a lot more young young males presenting to me. Because i think you know ordinarily we associated disorders with women and that they affect more women than they do affect men would like to hear that they're affecting younger males now boys who are teenagers. It's really quite worrying. Okay yeah absolutely. And i suppose look statistics which show that. Three-quarters presentation is female. That leads a quarter mail. So you can imagine the stigma that surrounds that for young men trying to come in and access support and even for parents because parents don't associate eating disorders with with males so they're less likely to pick up on the early warning signs around their son what they might be doing the behavior that associated with these illnesses and so because stigma exists. I mean i had so many people you know. Young men breakdown can call my god. I've got a female and it's not that at all and then the relief that you know they have when you when you tell them like twenty five percent actually is is male presentation under just does that give them you know like that that that they're not alone then that they know that it's not just something that affects women that is affecting men so it's important to get the this message out there today. It's absolutely crucial that we get this message out there. I suppose one of the things is one of the most known illnesses around eating disorders anorexia. And and that's very much you know female orientation but i'm a lot more males present with with anorexia and so around anorexia. What we've got there is gonna need for control and need for stability so few of the young man who has you know maybe a history of trauma and and just to say what we know about trauma fiona before we thought that was an experience or an event. It's not it's how we experience an event. So where you and. I may have a similar experience. How i navigate that and how you navigate it could be very different so you may be absolutely fine and kind of move on through the experience whereas it could really really impact me. And so if that's that the emotional Upheaval remains unprocessed. Than what happened for me as odd. Carry that forward. And i think what think it's sexually terry. The talks a freezer and analogy where you know. If we have unprocessed trauma we put the feelings name oceans away. Because they're too much. I fear overwhelm where we can't deal with them. And so we stuff. Mint there are internal freezer. But then something else happens and you know we stopped them in as well but there's only so much you can put into freezer before it goes into meltdown. And that senate what we call charta ground then furnishing disorder because it's the unprocessed stuff where we need to now have control over lights. I can't control all that's happening here. Like you know a sense of illness or grief. Or i can't control of that stuff away. I can control is my eating and body could into body and how much exercise and that gives me strength in a sense stability and that's very very common and for young men and the other the other side of that just to say exposes us the most of this more fear which is often considered reverse rexy which is more commonly presenting with males. Young males is where you see young men trying to both up and so where somebody with an Anorexia we'll see themselves as being bigger than they are somebody with most of this more will see themselves being smaller than they are so young men will really strive to you know they will take steroids. They will be in the gym. The overdoing the really high level. Closing diet really unhealthy behaviors in order to bulk up and usually what's underpinning. That then is that you know why commonly what's underpinning that is bullying are byu swears if i make myself really strong whereas then i feel that i'm untouchable But underneath actually. I'm i'm feeling quite fragile. Fear now if somebody suspects Their friend or family member has an eating disorder. Obviously to approach anybody about. This is a very sensitive topic and you have to be really mindful of after mental health. When you do approach them is this. When you're approaching a male abusers is different because they they may see it as a female disease. Juno audit isn't it isn't i mean if your arm to a the awareness that this is not a female disease seem that there's quite quarter presentation is nail. That can really help bring somebody's Shame it's actually shame that they experienced having descended style and makes them more open to hearing the options. That's available to them I always say be as direct but as compassionate and the support of as possible so just naming your concerned the problem with eating disorders is. They're helpful before they're harmful and that's why they take hold so quickly. Soil says very easy to get an easy disorders very difficult to recover from one and because in the early stages the the behaviors allying want so. If i want to feel better about myself if i blow south esteem. If i don't feel that i'm good enough and i start to engage in behaviors. That suddenly can me sense of achievement in control and now my peers are looking at me and they're giving me Compliments and i'm feeling good enough then. I'm going to keep those behaviors going. Because i feel i feel really good in the world and that might be the first time that i actually feel accepted. Really seen in a positive light so in the initial stages the behaviors aligned with the echo with equal ones The problem is then if everybody seeing me this way. And i'm getting i need to keep this going so we don't know clear line inside when this becomes moose helpful to harmful a my the time. It's acknowledged like two to three. Years is the estimated time before people present for for help At that stage it's like it has really taken hold and a behaviors are compulsive obsessive. A person's life is taken over. Their mental health declines physical wellbeing declines. So the other thing. I suppose to knows about in eating disorder these multifaceted. If i could do one thing about this i would change the name eating. Because i think it gives such mis concept of these illnesses about these multifaceted their psychological of their emotional or spiritual their behavior and the medical there's all aspects of arson is is affected by these and so for for recovery to happen. All those.

"Actually would go off to really could start saying they all went like a break up in matches but yeah. It's just stay story. If you don evans in terms of him at grand psalms. And i think he set himself the Very very good. very happy. with his clay season finishes on a on a dump squib really and Yeah he will be. I think he'll be disappointed. The he still not doing a job You know at the grand slam tournaments wet the most ranking points are on offer say yet spit of a shame and i it. It does leave door open. I feel for cam nori because that you know that i think they must be quite kleist now between british one and brush number tae feels like you know if there is a time where cam nori comes through and we'll be brushed number one arguably it's probably quite. It's quite close on the horizon. Yeah cam is also still on course for potential third round with rafeh. Say we'll see how that pans out. What man who did get his first win at roland garros was medvedev. Who is part of our collector. This tournament So i think you had him to lose in the first round at she joe potentially but he didn't he at showing fireworks in that much. We'll has bow expecting expecting that to be like yeah like blockbuster and it was just. It was a routine comfortable victory for the deaf. Yeah but blake didn't seem to be into it. Yeah so get down your method. Perhaps this'll be the stove of a long run to the semi finals or the final. We'll have to wait and see another player who managed to scrape three by the skin of his teeth. Janacek sinner saved a match point against a peer effort. He had a match point at five four in the fourth set so sin. Ob very pleased to come through that one. And he's joined in the second round by his two young compatriots at well. Lorenzo musetti who is italian but also call us alcatraz. He's spanish but that a three teenagers to reach second round say base also came through. I'm essentially. I think you called this one joe. He beat goffin straight-sets. Which actually i think that makes it. Six hours lost nine matches against top twenty players. So he's really racking up these like fairly big wins. Yeah he's not someone you want refacing at the moment so Very very impressive. I watched a bit of that one. Tv i think goffin played particularly badly. Apart from that. I sat the second set. Set were particularly competitive. Necessity was able to get it. Done was quite surprised. Lorenzo sonic i was not able to get it done against loyd harris. He fell in straight sets. That did take me by surprise a little bit. I'm but one play who did look really really gets Which sort of also surprised me. federa- against dennis is Came through in straight-sets and you know if this was any normal season with roger federer playing a full calendar year than you know. You wouldn't really bat an eyelid yourself. But but the fact that he hadn't played a grand slam for four hundred eighty seven days. And it's on clay cool in paris. I was wondering if this was going to be a little bit of a banana skin. And he came. He really came through for me in fall colors. Four hundred eighty seven days. It sounds like you've been counting among them off. Yeah exactly when will we see you again. Roja yeah it was very straightforward. He was very untroubled. Very comfortable. said didn't face a break point Estermann not the player. He beats jovic those many years ago at the i. It's fair to say and Yet great with federer. we'll have to see he's a he. He exceeded my expectations in that much and An unlike unlike another topsy. Joe who i think going back to sunday. The very first day of the tournament had quite different experience. Yes dominic thiem. Wow Pablo andy hall. I mean the the commonality shed between team and federal is is undo hard because andrew hall in the space of a few weeks beaten roger federer and dominik table on the Beat roger federer in geneva might remember on on fetters comeback to his home tournament at seven. Yeah he beat team from two sets down he one four six five seven six three six full six full. I mean it was one of the standout matches from round one Box it was something that i don't think anyone really could have expected. I mean andrew hall was zero and twenty four win loss record when two sets to love down in mejia's And he's also zero and eleven against top five players so it was very very surprising and despite the funk that dominic thiem is in two sets up you really felt that that was going to be one result and it was pablo under hall winning in five. Yeah i think this is. The first time that he has lost from tea sets up. I believe so. It's not great. Great from teases is quite a saad kid. I mean this is a guy. This is a guy who expects to go deep at the french open eastern that in the last two two years and him out in round one and have two weeks in front of him with nothing to do. I think he will be an. It's obviously a big time now big period for reflection. But it's a bit sad. We're not gonna see much more of dominic thiem. Well we're going to see him girls. No and him on the grass isn't particularly something you'd put two and two together and say you know. This is a great combination. So i really didn't know what to expect from him for the next few months He's oversee still kind of ongoing issues. You know he just said he was lacking power. It's just not not moving well enough. Just everything kind of is a bit off. He's sort of half cooked. Say is going to take time to get back up there. We hate to see him him up again. One player who had a very different experience was sashes verify who had the complete opposite. He was two sets down and then came back quite comprehensively winning well be bagel his opponent or scott in that fifth set We have we have seen this a few times before from his various i think in early rounds of slams where he's gordon g sets down to managed to come back and i think he did that quite a bit. The nas journey of the ended up winning that say perhaps he'll be a row now. Who knows one thing. That sparks perhaps. A bit of controversy is news that he signed ray lex as a sponsor and in light of the kind of domestic violence allegations. That were made kind of end of loss. J i take thing that's particularly. Go down. say well. I know quite surprising. Yeah you know there will be people out there looking at bronze like relax and thinking particularly with the number of tennis as they have to ready to. You need another one yeah. I don't really really really. You know some people. I feel like we'll have that kind of opinion but yeah very bizarre school line with that first round match very much. A tale of two halves. It was one of those weird batches were even though he was two sets down. Feel like he's still favourite to win it Which went and he was able to fit. Fit the switch in thoughts so Yeah he came through that. And then i just guess finally came out to the women. I wanna to talk about saba lincoln as anka very quickly because i think it was a very good day for both of them As rank came through. Very kind of fun match. I was watching some of this against save his six. Full two. six six three She comes up against clara tolson next from denmark player. I've got my eye on for the future. I'm really fascinated. See how that one goes. Yeah as our anchor in sabah. Lanker fill the could particularly not that part of the draw oversee now with asaka out as well Kavita overseas also out. It's mcgrath it's sorry not megrahi's and top pop. Its opening up for them quite nice. You think it's a free for all they could. Anyone is out for for anyone. I mean suppling still favor. I guess to come through all my pick jammer tevita for the semi never know they. Joe talking predictions all connect. To say isn't going. Say well because we've lost two players. So i've lost serena at a soccer and you've lost sarka and medvedev or they say everyone goes soccer wrong. Everyone that participated unfortunately go go herro as a result of pulling out daughter. Good start for us. He collects a listless interested. My picks were. I had federal getting to round for. Daniel medvedev out in round one so it was not particularly happy with that result of rude getting to the quarterfinals serena williams getting into the quarter finals i had soccer gang out in round three to i think powder pagosa that's not happening caroliina merkava going out in round three out that she had a bit of a today. Say yeah i'm down kim. I'm i'm not. I'm not feeling confident about owning a passing show. Mark the awarded you already. Yeah yeah i move it to come through against petkevich six four in the third set so i one time i was thinking..

"Dominic thiem crashes out and cam nori is the last singles brit standing a kim. What a few days. We have had in paris round. One is nearly a sunday monday. Tuesday i am absolutely loving it. We've had the holiday in the uk and it's just that may is just enabled me to sit on my safer have a drink and just take it all in and i feel that was the only way to enjoy round wa because there is literally so much to talk about. Yeah it's been around of thrills and spills but if debate and specs spectra as well and news is kind of reverberates. It outside of of the tennis world i think as well And it's also been lovely weather. I'm thinking those like some vibes like the tennis here in the u. k. And the style of the girls around the as well definitely getting those vibes again which is great But yeah there's so much talk about. And i guess there's any one place we can start really joe when that as with the a soccer News which is that. She has withdrawn from ridden garros. On really i guess you know. We talked about the fact that she had decided that she wasn't going to be doing the press conferences in our preview episode. But i don't think any of us envisage that it would lead to a withdraw rule and it's sent of debates are out into the atmosphere about you know the role of the press and mental health. And what we can do. The slams can do it. All the tennis governing bodies can do to help the players more Because we'll see us. August really struggling with mental health at the moment. She's know in a particularly good place is been a a real shock to the system has been a real shock to the tennis system. I think and i think this is going to be looked back. On as a landmark moment you know namely soccer's one of the biggest players in the school. Something like this happens. People are going to take note of it. We've already seen people taking note of in the you know in tennis in the tennis media Tennis players Former players journalists. And as well as everyone outside of tennis you know we. We've we spoke before the puck costs about the fact that your friends have been contacting us for like what's all sort of your viewpoint on it so it really is something that has struck a chord with lots of different people and i think when you look at this kind of story and kind of how. It unfolded really. There's been i think four kind of key moments particularly for me in terms of that statement asaka put out pre french open talking about talking about the fact that she wasn't gonna do media Gt's at the french open. We then had a sort of response from all four grand slams The know the coming days from her original announcement saying that's fine but effectively. They will kind of give her in and set the wisconsin. Rules are rules. And if you're going to be turning out to play my tournament you're going to have to essentially do media now. They did say that they had reached out to her in that statement but it was a collective thing between french open. Us open wimbledon and the australian open and then the bump show really kind of hit yesterday when again. She came out with another statement on on twitter to nounce the that she had withdrawn from roland. Garros which was all the more surprising because she paid a first round match and had one had looked pretty. Good and Yeah it just sort of the situation source of snowboard and a lot of people kind of saying that tennis didn't really handle itself in the best light and we've seen the the grand slams has come out with a completely opposite message offering support to a soccer and and being a much more feel less. I feel potentially kind of combative and arguably aggressive which i think some people have saw the original message as but seeing it now is a bit more supportive. This is about mental. Health is about opening up that compensation and the grand slams want to want to play a role in helping us all kabbah. Yeah i think maybe in that first statement that she put out in a prior to the tournament starting maybe the point she was trying to make didn't particularly come across as well as as we now understand from her scenario and the kind of anxiety and depression that should be she's been suffering and you know higher herrings. Rt dealing with the media. Which i think she's had throughout her whole career pov who she is. She's quite introverted and shy. It's a natural public speaker by any means which. I can compete any kind of undecided because i have a very Like versus myself. And it's i think. I think that maybe the team dropped that statement will management who was ultimately responsible for putting the out there. Maybe they could have made it clear which i know in her second statement. She kind of referred to an alluded to that. She could have made it clear but i think i. Yeah the slams. Obviously they try to reach out to her. I didn't know how how well they manage to do that. what the dialogue walls between us awkward not on the grand slams and the on the f. f. t. but i guess they were kind of going by the rule book you know there are rules and i wonder if they just thought. Oh if we if we make an exception for her other place starter you do the same. We're going to have like a big situation on our hands. Obviously we do have a situation hands. But i think in hindsight is probably is the best decision that she's withdrawn and say that she can take the time for herself. She needs to get help recover and kind of web three this but oh say for the governing bodies to kind of think well okay what can we. What can we put in place for players. Who really are very uncomfortable. Doing the kind of media requirements that the sport have and is there another sort of way through where they could kind of come to a balance where she d like a bit of media but not the same as before because it is quiet intense. Also and i'm sure there must be other players. He sympathised and say what rav a not go through. Eat as i experience off to every single match. They must be other things that they can do to engage with the playas but not.

"An i think he made a good point. That you can't just dismiss Things that you just think. Oh just wait are too far out there but And this is my test for a lot of people who bring stuff up and 'cause i always say. Is there anything you won't believe anything. Dismiss out right and most people say no most people enter this type of thinking. And when i say the easter bunny none at a time ten times people will say possible now. Would you dismiss the easter bunny. So please betting obviously not real. But they're making like some real origins from where that story comes from. Better interesting okay. I liked that with christmas too. There's a real we're doing a psychedelics. Documentary and There's a really great christmas story. That involves a psychedelic mushroom called the amanita area. Where you know. I you hear it. You're like this is ridiculous but then the out if you start looking at it and you see like some of the stuff that the outfits that the shame in where up there are exactly like santa clauses outfit so there's certain little things that you can kind of tack onto if i were a. There's anything that i don't believe in religion. Yeah i get it but it's hard to see the six bunny anywhere coming closer. But i agree with all the christmas law. And there's lots of that but you just said something fascinating about doing the thing on psychedelics. Are you familiar with the tale about or the idea that The burning bush that moses supposedly saw was with full t. now when you hear those stories. You're like oh of course actually be a real story now. Originally is obviously entirely made up right. You hear something like that you know. Maybe that actually did happen. "Maybe there other exercises that are similar to that that you could do and maybe there was something physical that you are trying to do to get stronger and eventually you have to get stronger to be able to do that thing. And it's always a work in progress to you know for martial artists you know you can learn how to throw a punch you can learn how to throw the perfect punch you could maybe be the best person in the whole world at throwing a punch the most power whatever it is but you not always going to knock that guy out. You're not always going to have success with that thing that you're trying to do. And so even. The mindfulness professionals like in my family had people from ucla. That are part of this huge program that they're now doing where they can get accredited and it's becoming more official thing and they still have problems. You know they start where they have. These things happen. We're all humans and so there's a lot of stuff that we're just victims of by being a humid and kind of the more you become educated about those things you become kind of forgiving yourself for those things. Maybe you have something that you do. That really don't like and you feel like you're blaming yourself for that. Well the more you can kind of not blame yourself and realize this is a common problem and that there are ways of dealing with this and i could be better at it of some of it is just noticing physical stuff like when you get angry. You heart starting to get more beat. I'm starting to like certain little things and when you start to become more aware of those physical things to then you might be able to say. Oh this this is the path. When i started to get angry the me it happened with aids. I think would decrease in a natural decrease in testosterone. "Let's be honest like you said if this medical marijuana why is it that you go to a dispensary to buy it. Why is it that you're not getting this from a doctor. And the reason is that it's it's too complicated of a situation and they really wanted to just kinda get the the money benefit of this and then be able to a standing point where we're like. Yeah you as a cancer patient can use marijuana to help you but we don't have that a definitive evidence to prove that it is effective medicine. So we're not gonna take any sort of liability type of stance You know encouraging this. And ross the board doctors have just been unmotivated to learn this. You go a look. We've had medical marijuana here in california for over twenty years you go to see a doctor. It's extremely unlikely that they know anything about cannabis as so what. What did we do. We we legalized recreational before. We even had the medical thing down. And that's what everywhere is doing and you hit on the head. The reason that they're doing that is because of money and that's for me. As a an authentic person in this industry i came from before there is any medical marijuana anywhere and to watch this whole process for these poor people that authentically need this medicine. And then to see like oh. They're so against it when it was just medical marijuana then you see the profits in colorado and then all of a sudden you start seeing. Well we're gonna just recreational legalize any colorado and then they see even greater profits and all states to start saying all we're all going to legalize it now. Nobody cared when it was. Maybe this could help your cancer patient. Maybe this could help your kid with seizures. Nobody that's a. That's a really Way to look at things. And i haven't had that perspective before but i i see where you're going within. It definitely can make angry to think that way about years again down there..

You're being thorough. Ah. Here we are. London. Lobby of the Bridgemont Building. Approaching the security desk. One second. Who are you here to see today? I have an appointment with Eugene Demeter. IDS? Uh, yeah. Sorry. IDS. What was your name? Charlie Lattimore. We could skip the elevator stuff and all the waiting around in the waiting room. Why are you playing these at all? I needed to be top of mind for you. Charlie? Yes. We're ready for you. Great. Do you want to help with the bag? That's all right. This way. You worked here long? Me? Maybe four months. Are you applying for a job? I am. Oh, amazing. Well, it's a great place to work. Lots of benefits and the location, obviously. Hi, Akshay. Hi. Hi, Nia. This is gonna sound so dumb, but I've been going on so many interviews. What exactly is it that you do here? IDS. A lot of things, mostly centered around events. Insurance, logistics, marketing, you name it. Anyway, we're going to put you two in here. And make sure Gene is on his way. He's not great at time management these days. Here he is. Good luck. Thank you. Hello. Nice to meet you in person. You are Charlie, right? I am. Do it. I didn't want to get my wires crossed. Can you imagine me blathering on about Limetown and you're the wrong person? Look. Gene. I'm a little nervous talking to you. You're very intense. I'm going to be telling you things that I've never ever in my life said to anyone. Gene, I would urge you to take your involvement in Limetown very seriously. I do. And from now on, be extremely selective in who you talk to about this. You think you can do that? Yes. And I'm not ignoring you. I'm just writing this down. Be selective. No, I also wouldn't write any of this down. Oh, God. That obviously goes without saying. I haven't really been getting a lot of sleep in the past few days. I might need you to hold my hand through this. It's all very new to me. Would it make sense for me to tell you who knows I'm involved? I think let's wait on that. What I would like to do first is come to an agreement about terms. Okay. And then maybe take this to a more private location to discuss the scope of your involvement in this thing. Absolutely. You want to talk about money? I would. Normally, this kind of thing would be more fluid, but considering the scope of this project, I'm going to need to ask for a considerable amount of money up front. Well, that seems fair. I would need 1 .2 million to get started. One point... 1 .2 million pounds? Yes. To get started? Yes. Hi, Nia. What's going on? I'm sorry to interrupt. Someone's calling for you, and they wouldn't take a message, so... Who is it? Special Agent Marcy Gravis. She says she works for the Department of Homeland Security. Tell her I'll call her back. She said it's urgent. Tell her I will call her back. I'm in a meeting. Okay. Thank you. I don't have 1 .2 million pounds. Correct. You have 1 .5 million. And this bank account. I'm leaving room for the fees. Well, that's... Look, okay, look. See, that money's for my kids. Well, I think if your kids had the choice between having that money and having their dad, they would choose the letter, I would hope. I understand what you do is very challenging. I do. But can't we just be reasonable and bring it down a little bit, just to start? I mean, maybe we could just work our way up to that number. No, no, I'm sorry. That is the starting salary for having your life unfucked. Yeah, but I have... If you're not willing to pay that, I can't take you seriously. But I am serious. Then say yes. I just feel really kind of majorly pressured here. Christ! Mrs. Demeter, now there are some men here, they're from... Sorry, where are you from? Just tell them I'll be out in five minutes. Okay, I'll do it. I can't in good conscience give you that much money. Not without knowing what that money gets me. It gives you a chance. A chance to do what? A chance to not go to jail for the rest of your life because you're financially tied to the greatest American conspiracy of all time. I'm paying you my children's future for a chance. It's one more chance than you have right now. Oh, God. Look, I think we got off on the wrong foot here. I'm not a bad person. I didn't boil any people in acid. Oh! Damn! Okay. Okay. Okay. I'll withdraw the money today. You're hired. Okay. Well, congratulations then. You're a millionaire and you haven't done anything yet. That's not true. I've already removed the single most incriminating piece of evidence from the equation. What am I looking at? Tapes. Lots and lots of tapes. The ones your former employer, Brenda Radowski, AKA Terry Falstaff, AKA Lenore Dougal, sent to Leah Haddock's producer. The Oscar totem tapes? Sure. To be clear, that's a bit of a misnomer. A lot of them are Oscars. Others are from after he died. Some are just nonsense, thrown in with the rest. It's not exactly a curated experience. What it is, really, is an insurance policy. Everything this individual hid away because she knew it implicated some very powerful people. And now, it's yours. You're giving these to me? Yes. Put them somewhere where no one will ever find them but you. Don't tell me where you keep them. Okay, but shouldn't you have them? I already pulled the audio off them. I don't understand. How do you have these? How isn't really a question you want to ask me. Right. But I think you'll find as we move forward that intercepting a package is a pretty small order of business for someone in my line of work. Grab that sheet of paper. Yes. I want you to write down three numbers. Mine, your wife's, your lawyer's. You're going to stick that in your pocket. It's the only people you talk to for the next week, okay? Is this a test? You said not to write anything. Eugene, just do what I say. And don't call them from your iPhone. Put that in a drawer and buy a burner. Do you know what a burner is? It's a cheap phone. Correct. As for Nia and Akshay and all the other people running around here with their heads cut off, they're all getting something called mandatory professional development. Say that with me. Mandatory professional development. We want them scattered. It's hard to put together a story if all the key players are in different locations. Sound familiar? It does, yes. What about the special agents? Who? The suits in the lobby. Oh, they don't know anything. What? They've been paying visits to anyone even vaguely connected to Fitzgerald and Butler. Well, they don't know anything. Not really. Well, you could have told me that. No, Gene, I don't think I could have. Mr. Demeter. Go away, Akshay. Just leave me alone. Uh, yes, sir. On the back of that, write this down to Pink Norrie, 12 Canley Street, 1600 hours. That's where you're going to meet me. That's in half an hour. Yeah, Gene, we're on Limetown time now. We don't really have time to burn. Okay, I'll make it work. And when you talk to the agents, make sure you ask lots of questions about Leah Haddock. Why? Everybody on planet Earth wants to know where Leah Haddock is except the guy who took her. We'll be right back. Who can speak with you in a safe online environment? At that point, did you think Eugene knew where Leah was? You said you listened to the tapes, right? Yes. So you have the facts. Why bother with what I think? Interesting. Why is that interesting? No reason. Let's continue. Pink Nori, a few minutes after five. Jean Demeter is over an hour late. The only people in the restaurant are the wait staff and an older white gentleman who was working on his laptop by the window. Go ahead and give Jean another... You want more hot water? Sure. Thank you. You still want to wait on food? I think that's my friend. Oh. I'm with her. Thanks. Could you give us a minute? You all right? I don't know if I'm built for this. It was one thing when nobody knew. I just hope this all gets easier. I assume it gets easier. Does it? Did you get rid of your phone? Yeah. I didn't have time to get the burner phone. But I told my staff to go home and await further instructions from me. Oh, and I bought the first cash payment. It's in the bag. You can look at it if you... Don't touch the bag. OK. I need to ask you a couple questions. Shoot. Do any of the remaining 163 Limetown survivors know who you are? Would they recognise your name from a list or be able to pick your face out of a line -up? No. You're sure? I'm sure. I interacted never with them. That's good. Question number two. Do you know where Leah Haddock is? No. Do you know who took her? I do. You do? I do. Anything for you to drink? Yeah, I'll take one of everything. Sorry, only kidding. Let me look at the... Is this the drink menu? Sorry, do you have whisky? We have beer. Yeah, yeah, beer's great. A single beer. Thank you. The man who abducted Leah Haddock, his name Daniel Rasmussen. R -A -S -S -M -U -E -L -L -E -R. OK. How do you know it was him? He told me. Before or after? Before. He confided in you. I guess you could call it that. Well, what would you call it? Not confiding. This guy is like the employee from hell. I don't say this lightly, but he's a deeply disturbed individual. Are you hungry? No, no, Gene. How is he your employee? It's complicated. By design. I was responsible for withdrawing the money and bagging it. He was responsible for delivering it to the people who needed it. The Limetown survivors. Yeah, I realised later. You didn't know you were paying Limetown survivors? I had no idea. It's not like someone sat me down and says, hey, you want to join a conspiracy? I was 27 years old. I was working as an associate at what is now IDS. I was called something else back then. I was just paying my dues, hoping to put a dent in my loans. And one day, out of the blue, someone says, hey, Brenda Radowski. Lenore wants to talk to you. Be at this hotel room in an hour. I'm like, OK. Why does my boss's boss's boss, Brenda Radowski, a very accomplished person and highly respected individual, who everyone in our firm seemed to be scared of, want to talk to an associate? I'm nobody. But you don't question things too much, you know? You're conditioned to do what you're told. So I went. And when I got there, she was very nice, very welcoming. The whole reason I was there was framed as, this is the kind of things all the associates are doing. It's just a side job. So she sits me down, hands me a stiff drink, and says, are you interested in making some money on the side? I mean, OK. What kind of money? She says, and I'll shit you not, this is what she told me it was. A botched class action lawsuit. Our fault. A total clusterfuck. So Brenda says, my help was needed in making these giant annual payments to people all over the world. It was all very simple and straightforward. I'd get the list fed next to me, and on it would be the names and addresses and payment amount, and the date I was supposed to deliver this information to a third party. My partner. So it's a two -person job. I take the money out, package it up. This other guy delivers it. I mean, obviously this is a highly unorthodox task she's given me, but what do I have to lose? I mean, did it occur to me that maybe I was doing something that wasn't 100 % legal? Not daily. Did I ever think for one second that I was paying the people of Limetown to keep quiet about the existence of mind -reading technology? Not even once. So how did you find out you were paying survivors? Daniel told me. Like I said, the way it was set up, I'd never need to interact with him. I only needed to get the money to a certain place by a certain time. Where? The marina. There's a dock with a blue light at the end of it. It's just past the bathrooms. There's a boat called Richard's Folly. The back door would always be open, and I would drop it in the cabin. For two years, I did just that with no problem. And then one night, he was just there, sitting in the darkness. Why don't you describe this Daniel for me? Okay. Well, he's a very large man. You're gonna laugh, but the first time I saw him, I thought he was a kayak or something, propped up against the wall. Then he started moving. The first time he talked to me, the first thing he said was that he had a secret he was keeping all to himself, and that he was tired of keeping it. Then he told me who the money was for. Why would he do that? I didn't ask. Excuse me. Could I get another one of these? Okay. So this Daniel guy does the job for two years after Limetown. He transports the duffel bags full of cash to the people he's supposed to. He gets curious who these people are and does a little digging on them. Maybe he asks one. And then something changes. He knows what he's a part of, and he decides he's going to spill the beans to you, the only other person in this conspiracy he knows. Well, that's possible. And you were unfazed even once you knew these were Limetown survivors? Well, I wouldn't say that. Just not fazed enough to stop. Not that I could have. I tried once in 2010. I had so much money already, and my daughter had just been bought. It just felt like time to pass the torch, and I don't know. The only way I could think to end it was to tell the only person I knew who was in on it. Lenore, whatever her name was. At this point, she'd dropped off the face of the planet. So what did you do? I waited for him. I went to the boat with the money and I sat in the darkness. Just like he would. I waited. A few hours later, I heard it. The heavy creak of this massive man walking slowly down the dock. Like he had all the time in the world. I remember. He stopped at the door. The glass door that leads into the cabin. It's so big he blocked out the light. He just waited there on the other side of the glass. He was looking in at me. He knew I was there. I don't know how he knew, but he knew. So, after what felt like maybe ten years, he slid the door open so slowly. And he walked in. Slides the door shut behind him. He says, and I'll never forget this. Do you want to know why I never go to the dentist? I mean, this is how he talks. Like, he's talking past you. Like, responding to something you never said. I didn't say anything. I was too afraid. So, he takes a step closer. Rattling the glass. Then he asks me again. Do you know why I never go to the dentist? I mean, he's nearly on top of me now. He says, one time I heard a story about a little boy named Kiernan. Who waited for his dentist in the dentist chair. When some stranger snuck in and poured lye down his throat. Kiernan's my son's name, if you didn't know that. So, I don't remember exactly what happened after that. But I remember I left the money. And he let me leave. But the assumption was that I would be wise not to get in the way of what he was doing. There would be dire consequences. I asked myself for years, why would Brenda hire someone like this? That's when I realized that Daniel's job, it wasn't just about delivering the money. It was keeping people quiet. No matter what it took. Including Leah Haddock. So, why abduct her? I don't know. Lenore, in her final conversation with Leah, seemed to think she'd be kidnapped as some sort of pawn to get to a meal. Sure. Why would Daniel want a meal? Do they know each other? I don't know. I'm assuming you heard Daniel's threat to a meal on Sincerely Sandra. Be at the bridge in 72 hours or Leah ends up in pieces. I did. That stands at 57 hours and counting, by the way. Yeah, I'm very aware. So, what's his motive here? Daniel does a job for a decade, keeping Limetown survivors alive, paid, quiet. Leah starts broadcasting the story of Limetown for the first time, and so he attempts to shut the survivors up. He takes out Warren, then Max. But if your whole goal is to keep Limetown a secret, why not just kill Leah? I don't know. Clearly, in Daniel's mind, finding a meal is more important than Leah. It's more important than the story of Limetown being made public. It's more important than the secrecy of your entire operation. What does it matter? I'm just having a hard time seeing how doing a deep dive into this maniac's head is going to help protect me and my family. I mean, what exactly is our plan here? Our plan is to make Limetown disappear. Are you kidding? I'm not. With everything that's happened, your plan is to put the cat back in the bag? Yes. Doesn't that seem impossible? Only if you care about the well -being of the cat. Look, it has been 38 hours and 15 minutes since Leah haddock disappeared. In that time, there's been this flood of information about Limetown. No one person can wade through it. There's a thousand people every hour who say they know for sure who took Leah haddock, another thousand who say they know one of the survivors. And then you got another thousand who say they're 100 % sure that the guy who works in the mail room has the exact same voice as the guy who showed up at Leah haddock's hotel room and banged his head against the door screaming her name. Right now, everybody knows everything, so nobody knows anything. And that, Gene, is a good situation for us. 15 years ago, Limetown was the biggest story in the world. Five years later, it was just another Wikipedia article. Do you know why that happened? Guess. People moved on. Exactly. But people can only move on if you let them. The story can't be allowed to develop. It has to remain a mystery. If I do my job right, in five years, five months, people will be asking themselves, Hey, whatever happened to that reporter that got abducted, did anyone ever find her? Shrug. People, deep down, they want Limetown to be a mystery. That is what they love about it. So our goal here is to make sure that Leah haddock and the person who abducted her are never seen or heard from again. I see. Do you? I don't deal in euphemisms, Gene. With your acknowledgement, I'm going to kill Daniel Rasmuler, and I'm going to kill Leah haddock. And we don't... I mean, there are no other options. Not from where I'm sitting. Okay. Okay. And when it's done, me and my family will never have to worry about this. I don't believe in half measures, Gene. Last question. On the Sincerely Sandra call, the demand for Emil was to be at the bridge. Do you have any idea what bridge they could be referring to? I don't. Do you know who would? The implication is Emil would know where the bridge is. Who knows Emil well? Living. Is that a real question? I mean, I don't know. Jesus. Allison haddock, I suppose. The wife of his brother, Jacob. She's the only person in Emil's life who isn't missing or... Dead. Missing or dead. So, Allison haddock. You're telling me you're going to go talk to Leah haddock's breathing mother and try to get the same information pretty much every law enforcement agency in the world is after? Yes, Gene. That is my plan. Now, here's what you're going to do. You're going to go home, pack a couple suitcases, and get your family to Worthing. Do you know where Worthing is? Okay. Once you get there, there's a travel lodge called the Worthing Homestead. Room 22 is already booked under the name Harry Frost. Pay in cash. Don't do anything but stay in the hotel and wait for my call. Do you understand? Yeah, I think so. You think so or you do? I do. Then wait for my call. Was that the first time you'd heard the name Daniel Rasmuler? Yes. When on Oscar Totem's tapes did you first hear him? Why do you call them Oscar Totem's tapes? It's shorthand. But you know there were as many of Lenore's tapes mixed in as his. Yes. Apologies. We shouldn't forget Lenore. She was very thorough. Yes, I'm flattered at the connection you're attempting to make. So when did you first hear Daniel? After, on the plane ride home. Were you surprised with what you heard? Yes. Why? Because it was surprising. Charlie - I don't know what you want me to say. I just want your opinion, your thoughts. But you're only asking me questions you already know the answers to. I'm trying to understand your choices. You're just a boy wearing men's clothes. Just play the conference call. Get on with it. This is from 45 days before the panic. A conference call Lenore conducted from Limetown. Can we say that again? Who's outside? Can you mute your line? I Hello? said, as of this morning, half the town has the tech installed into their brains. That's a very big problem. Yes, Kelly. Thank you. Jeez, that's a whale of a problem. Lucky for you, I solve problems. What is the proposal? Complete eradication. Complete? Yes. Outside of the asset? Of course outside of the asset, Kelly. Is no one going to say anything right now? She just said we need to murder 300 people. Who is speaking? Rasmussen. My name's Daniel. Ma 'am. Ah, the new leader of the task force. Welcome to the big leagues. Daniel, it's not polite to make subtext text. I'm not interested in being polite. This isn't up for discussion, Daniel. We have no other option and even less time. With all due respect, of course there are other options than mass murder. You're doing it again, Daniel. Think of how this plays out. Really think ahead. That's over 300 loose ends. We're trying to zip things up over here. What the fuck is happening right now? What are we doing? Our jobs, Daniel. There's a way to do this. You said half the town has the tech. Yes. That's an asset. That's the option of a long -term study in an organic environment. Hello? You're a smart man, Daniel. Wait, I'm lost. He's saying we keep the people with the tech alive to study the long -term effects. I think I can sell that. Is that an option? Theoretically. Well, that seems pretty good. So what would need to be done? Daniel, are you willing to claim responsibility for the survivors? And before you respond, let me explain what that means in basic English. It means until the day these 163 people die, after living long, full lives, they never speak a word of anything that's happened here. And if they ever do, then that is on you. That is your responsibility. And that means when I personally dig the mass grave, your unidentifiable corpse will be buried in all the rotting meat of your mistakes. Is that clear? Jesus, Brenda. I don't know about all that. Ken, stop talking. Is that clear, Daniel? Yes, ma 'am. Wonderful. Let's play it out. I'll start the Excel sheet. Great. Please be sure to CC me on any correspondence. Of course, Kelly. How could I forget you? Ms. Rudofsky, thank you for listening to reason. No, Daniel. Thank you. Daniel saved half the town. What a guy. Lenore was right. I should have tied up all the loose ends. You genuinely believe that? You can't honestly believe otherwise. Oh, I do. And I can. I would have appreciated working with her. She was quite a person. But she got old. And she got sloppy. She had a change of heart. Like I said. When did you hear the second Rasmiller tape? I don't want to hear the second tape again. Would you rather I pull your fingernails out? Yes. That's why we have to talk about it. Please don't play that. Were you listening alone? Stop. You do dream, don't you? Fucking stop. She never hears your screams, does she? Just turns the volume up. What surprised you most about the second tape? Please don't make me listen. This is important. This is the first time you knew. The first time you knew there was something after Lime Town. Let's turn the volume up. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. Yes, ma 'am. Please. Please stop. Please. Don't you get in. If it's just what I've done, then how can I have done this to you? Are you ready to tell me where Leah Haddock is? I already told you. I can't tell you. Then we'll continue this conversation in a few days. Please at least leave the lights
