"You know, the women's right. And then you see that being used, you know, I'm in the gym doing cardio on a Monday night or whatever, and I see her on the TV in the gym. And this is pretty cool to pay after all that. You know? So I did. I fell in love with a job. And that was, that was one of the hard parts of leaving and asking for the Middle East, I think, was to just kind of walk away from all those people, you know, because I love the coaches. I love that I love the talent that I worked with. And they become kind of like your kids. You know, I always say like Renee Gonzalez and Rhea Ripley both became like my call on my wrestling daughters. You know, I saw them grow and mature and did go on to be successful. So what was your role in the PC? Like where did you go level where you at coach wise and all that sort of thing? Kind of explain that. So pretty much everybody that walks in the door goes to either Norman smiley or Robbie Brooks said right away. And they teach them the foundation and the basics, which I can't teach at all. And then for the kind of spread out between Steve corino myself, Chris guy, and then it kind of goes up a lot of the character Shawn Michaels and I was more of the storytelling showbiz, psychology, part of it, you know, which I love, you know. Right. So yeah, that was it, man. So they would kind of have because there's so many students in the class. They would go through the beginnings with Robbie and Norman. And then as they kind of improved, they kind of leave that ring and go into your ring sort of a thing. Is that how it works? I ring. Every one or two months classes would change. And some people would advance. Some people would stay in a class they ran, depending how they were doing. And now dude it's just a kind of fast track. They may want everybody. They want everybody on television soon quick, you know? So we'll see man. I don't know how it does, but it's all kind of a new system now over the last 6 months to a year. So you mentioned Ripley and you mentioned Raquel Gonzalez so what were you teaching them that you really felt like you said they felt like your kids? Why is that those two and not everybody? I think it's just all about the relationship you create with them. And I had specifically asked for those two, they just needed the confidence. You know how it is. Once you see the confidence changes everything. Yes. And I had never had any women in my class up till that point. And really never again after, which is kind of weird, but. I had them working with guys. I had them in there with ricochet, had them in there with Marcel, Fabian, lilia rushes in my class at the time. And they just needed to learn to kind of lay their stuff in and not hold back, which they would do with some of the smaller girls. You know, and they just needed both those guys and Marcel, baby. And all those guys I mentioned can go. You know, they just needed somebody to lead them and increase their confidence. And that's and that's what happened. So what about from the guys side? Are there some of those dudes that you felt infinity with? Yeah. Street profits for sure. I think you can kind of see the guys that would gravitate more of the entertainment guys. I see, wow, okay. Otis, you know? What a great guy. Yeah, awesome. You know, those guys. And they just kind of, you know, you can get in, as you know, you can get away with as we call the ha ha and the character stuff up to a point, but then for me, personally, I could come and be jumping around. Do my thing. They want to see the worm. But at some point, you have to get serious in there. It can be on comedy all the way through. You know? And yet, can you have to sometimes people want to do too much? And there's nothing worse than bad comedy honestly. Good point. So what were some of the people that came through that a right away you knew were going to be big stars because they had it? And then we'll answer that question first and I have a sister question to that. Definitely notice. I mean, the guy was like, this is the Chris Farley. Belushi like reincarnated. The dude was just funny. He didn't even know what his mouth. He just look at him and his story him. Same thing. Street profits, although I can remember, we would have to do weekly reports, just kind of run down of what we did in our class. And I can literally remember with Ford was a wild man now and just crazy personality wage is crazy. I can remember writing in my reports I need to get him to come out of his show. Oh, you know? And he wouldn't say two words in class, you know? But eventually he came out of that show and they've gone on to do really well. Elias is a guy who worked with early on. You know, we did a Japan, Australia tour back in 2016 and I worked with him a lot on how to figure out how to make that whole character work. There's a few of the guys, you know, was it kind of frustrating at times because there was a little bit of a pattern where you guys would build up certain talents and NXT. And then they would go to the main roster and not get really much of a chance to shine at all. Happened quite often. Yeah, it's frustrating, right? And I can't even explain it. You know, a guy like Bobby Roode, I go, man, they're gonna love him up there. He looks like a man, right? Perfect. You can go up there and a guy like rude dude..

"Now, rock with us in March, but hang with us right here right now today. Scotty too hottie on talk is Jericho. Here's something funny. We're just gonna jump right into this right now. So it's always cool to start with something fun. So Scottish audience here and the last time we saw each other was that Paul McCartney in Orlando. So he texted me and says, are you at Paul McCartney? I think that he DMs me on Twitter. I think that I'm DMing him back. And I say, yeah, I said, instead of the enemy, just text me at this number. So I put my phone back in my pocket and it starts from boop, boop, like buzzing. Like, the hell's going on. I've got a hundred texts on my phone. One on one, one or two, and then you text me and go, hey man, I think you posted your number on social media. I was just telling a story to somebody the other day. That was funny. Yeah. So I just said, well, I'm just going to know sell it and just hopefully they'll just leave me alone and after about a week they did. But once in a while, I changed numbers now, but for a while, once in a while I was still, was this Chris Jericho? And I was like, ah, it's all my fault. But it's good to talk to you, man. And you reached out to me. It's a new leaf for you. A new time in your life. And it's probably pretty exciting because now and we'll talk about everything, but right now, after years of being in the performance center, which we'll talk about, you're now kind of back on the streets, going back into the ring again. Yeah, yeah, and you know what the coolest part about it is it was my choice. And that was a goal from it goes back to 2007 when I was released as a wrestler, you know. In 2006, my contract was up and they asked me to sign a three year deal. And I was on the fence for like a month. You know, it wasn't happy. I was doing dark matches. I was doing matches with the new flavor of the week and just not really having fun, right? But hell with it and I ended up signing that three year deal. Well, a year into that three year deal, I was released. And I told myself, never again when I do that, you know, and that's kind of where I was at this time around. You know, I was just not having fun, and it was I knew it was time to move on. Then I told myself when I came back, that was one of my goals was to walk away on my own this time. So you can kind of see the writing of the wall when they were kind of deciding the first time to let you go if you weren't being used. Was that was kind of going on the performance center too? Or is it just not fun for you there anymore? A little of both. You know, I saw the writing on the wall. And as everybody knows, you know, NXT has changed a lot over the last 6 months to a year. And for that first four years or so, it would do. It was the dream job. It was awesome. NXT was like the hottest thing in wrestling. The hottest brand in wrestling for a long time. Even though it wasn't the biggest, it was still, you know, we would go to a WrestleMania weekend or a SummerSlam weekend and still a show. It was the cool factor, right? And then just over the last 6 months to a year, a lot of change is happening. And I understand, you know, I understand where they're coming from. But for me personally, it was just like you said the writing was on the wall and it was time to go. And dude, looking around, you know, I'm seeing what you guys are doing over there and I've seen you having fun and Matt Hardy having fun and see Adam Cole walk out there and different guy and just like text them, like, dude, you look like you haven't so much fun over there. And then, you know, do you think outside of AEW, even on the independent scene right now, Mac cardona is out there killing it every weekend. And he says the same thing. He's having a blast. And I'm going dude, I'm the same age as Jericho and edge. You know, I know I can still do this. I'm still in decent shape and if I'm going to do this now is the time. So that's pretty cool because like you mentioned, it's been the last four or 5 years of the NXT. So now to go back into the ring, we've starting to feel that itch, even before AW, did you think that you went into the training zone, maybe a little bit too early or well, I honestly did. I was done. Because I was first offered a job at CW and build a model over there. And there were rumors of them moving to Orlando and becoming something different. But I was going through fire school at the time and I just kind of decided to move out and move into the firefighting EMT thing, you know? Which was looking back as a crazy idea. And I just wanted to do something different. And I said, no, then, and then what happened in Orlando in my own backyard? Not bloom is the head coach now who's been one of my best Friends for 25 years. And it just seemed to all fall into place. And it was kind of a no brainer. And then as soon as I did it, and I didn't know if I could be a coach. I was a backyard guy before there was a word for backyard wrestling. Oh, okay. You know, so I never went to a proper wrestling school. It was never properly trained. I learned on 18 mattresses in my mom's garage. You know, I'm sure you remember that there was a tape out of the time called secrets of pro wrestling. You know, and that's kind of how we learned a lot of our stuff. And we met a guy who got us booked on some local shows and it just snowballed from there. So you said you weren't sure how to be a trainer because of that. Right, because I was never trained. So I'm especially when you have guys like Norman smiley and Robbie brookside in there who could wrestle a paper bag, you know, and with their technical part of it is so good at what they do, where I just kind of bullshitted my way through. You know, I would always do the tie up, you know, take the arm, they gotta take it back. I do a front roll back roll, hand spring and a guy knows what he's doing. And just do it again. But you know what the difference is though Scott is that you have the experience. I mean, Norman had a little bit of it, but as far as being on the main stage for many years, that experience is much more valuable than knowing how to do a freaking hammer lock into a twist lock into a arm lock or whatever. Yeah, and I found that out over time. You know, my confidence built over the 5 to 6 years that I was there and you just fell in love with a job man and working with these kids and seeing them grow from the ground up and all of a sudden their WrestleMania. And so that's somebody like a Lacey Evans. I taught her how to throw a punch. And then I ended up naming the punch..

I'll just throw a more from the the. I don't have a bird blow story but You mentioned the spartanburg. And i remember. We had a house show there with. W w i was lucky enough to get book with bobby. And at the time. I wasn't winning any matches. It was just kind of the way it was and we were there. Bobby was booked win and he changed the finish that night. I can't remember who the agent was even had agents for house shows back then might have been. You aren't but he changed the finish and he's like i'm the bad guy you know. Why do i need to win over ninety six. So i think he just basically y is the bad guy winning the opening match but someone was like what bobby this is. One of your towns is like fuck. He's going over the opening match of the show but the baby face over which is a general rule are sure. Yeah yeah just like. I wasn't beating anybody. And just the fact that bobby volunteered to switch the finish right. Which was the right thing to do. Wasn't doing it. Because i was a nice guy who just was the right thing to do for the show but once again he didn't have to do that taking the win and taking his three grand a week and when he did that. So that's a pretty. That's pretty cool. Guy that understands the concept of this yes. Had you not been talented. He might not have made that. Sison chris you gotta put some of that on yourself. He loved the business. He saw an opportunity to do the right thing and he did the right thing. And you know when you loved the business. That doesn't bother anybody. No nobody comes up to me. Don't believe the only thing i could say about bobby. Closing wasn't in the years that i was with the crockett's did a lot of ring announcing to which i loved. The reason i really loved ring announcing was always thought. The pressure was kind of off of tv. You know you kind of have a. And i told you how bobby would come up to me. And he would say push me. I'm pushing back. But anytime the midnight express had match bobby was always having fun. Especially how shown he would look at me a lot and he would say things to me as he takes a bump that he look up. Look up i'll be there. He mumbles something to me. And i remember thinking he's making this fun. He's making fun for me. And he's making this fun for the fans and bobby was always that type of guy to make wrestling fund and he made it fun for me as a ring announcer especially and a tv guy to and if you watch those old watches all studio shows. They always came over us. They always brought their their their job guy overdose and did something and it was tremendous. Maybe feel more part of the action. The thing i will take care of it as maybe we should all stop and remember. This is the greatest way in the world and make eleven you know and the thing that makes it so great. I'm sort of miami Gilbert is probably the greatest job of all time Hilarious just totally. It's wbz given finger to wcw You know during the the war Spike was probably the best worker though right like the job or who could like. I don't know if the greatest work but the motherfucker took some. But that's what i mean is like he. He put in his time as a fuck as a job or like he got the job. Done like okay. what do you want we need. We need a baby face comeback. It's you know the crowd is actually behind as a job or the crowd was always behind him. I don't think he ever didn't have the crowd. Oh no actually One time doing extra work. Gilbert was really present. Yeah that's funny. Yeah was sick dude. it was so funny because i walked right by an like. I didn't even recognize him. Somebody had told me i was like. Oh shit that is. I forgot who or what but he blasts these motherfuckers. Yeah because i think. I think heart he posted to now. I've got a question for you. So there's a lot of dom gimmicks right somebody goes like. Hey this is my gimmick You know drink beer and a hip people cane. It's over you know like hey you know and now you have to because you're paired up with them and it's kind of expected and you gotta be the good brother and you're going to have to take this you know whatever whatever gimmick right and let me finish what is what are you infinity talking about so you gotta you gotta do this. Can you know and let let's get. Let's get this right. Today's day there's a lot of hokey shit right. A lot of stupid stuff like this is stupid. It's not realistic but okay. Let's do it. Because i you know i don't want to get the rap is the is the person that didn't want you know. Do the good brother but backed down there. I'm gonna hit you chairs. So i got a question. What if what if somebody was like. Hey this is my gimmick fucking patch on the ass. I ride like a goddamn horse. Do all this stuff right And you just go okay. Okay okay. Cool yeah that's that's your gimmick with do it. yeah. I'm one percent on board okay. I'm i'm starting this new gimmick to where i just hit people chairs you know like what like now a legitimate question. What you had you had your opponent was like. Hey dev slap you on the ass. And he derived a horse. I stopped all. It's really shit. What if you countered with okay. I'll do all that But i have this. I'm trying to get this new gimmick over. And what i do is i go and grab a chair hit. I just start land landwildfire. Heavy shots headshots. So we'll get your stuff in and then You know. I'll powder out grab a chair. And i'll come in. I'll crack if you times. And then i'll go home. What if somebody did that. What does somebody like. That was their counter to whatever you know. I don't think they've spots would happen either of them nowadays. I think that would happen. Would we mean like riding a like a horse. No if someone. If someone said showing and then i do this and then i do the chair shots. After that. i think they'd be like nah. I'm not going to be the chair as like walmart. Going to the horse it will. That could be your counter right. Hey if you don't want you don't wanna do my gimmick. I'm not doing it. Because i've got a hardcore. Gimmick i've got hardcore gimmick hardcore now the hardcore hogs luck. Yeah twenty twenty one man. You're the hardcore hawks. Google share shot. Get a chair shot. And you'll get a chair so wet bandits but this year the hardcore hogs where the.

So we all get paid more I think that's what's happening here is that like you know what? I think the top guys get part of the pay-per-view, but it does get you noticed and it does get your you'll followers on twitter and re tweet, and then getting considered for those batches that lead to this one I mean it just. Again I don't think you. Guys will always try to do this. Well. There was a guy named Norman Smiley a wrestler back in the nineties and his whole thing was before he beat you he would he would he would help you in the butt and everybody loved it but for some reason, everyone hates it when this guy does it Wrestling..

"You just referred to you, so he already lost him. Yeah, you can't have it Russell, and that doesn't make any sense well. Who should he russell well if it was me booking the show? Would you know. Anyway the Marx brothers and Marcus Smart. I think it's a good idea. Man. I like that I like that. I think I. think that's GonNa Happen in the future. I think you have the ability right now to form a tag team? with some some students. Like listen. Guys You fucking marks anyways Yup right here it is. For and that's the thing man everybody like what I've seen this happen before. Man Promotion brings in a new a new trainee like let's them debut and all that kind of stuff. And They wanted this train to lose for a year. Oh, yeah, you WANNA. Lose every match and this training was like he needed to get a win under his his belt. And and blew the whole storyline. Just just some wins and but it's like man. That's like a What do you say like like? He didn't look at the long-term right? The long term payoff So he he was being shortsighted like any to win tonight right now I need some shears I needed. People think that I can actually like. Win This predetermined match and right man. You just blew like this this big payoff down the road. It would have been like a lot more. You know memorable and all that kind of stuff. I would just let any promoter out there now that I would lose for two years if you'd book me on shows. Mad. I lose a lot more matches than I probably win, but like like whatever do it's predetermined. Man, pay me. I used to be that way. Night started winning belts and stuff and I was like. Gross. Belts back. Forget him at home. If you don't keep them with you, you know what Tommy Wilson told me one time he has. He enjoys more like say like on a big blow off match being the person that loses. Then the person that that wins because that that's your job is to get this person over. If you're a heel and his big blow off match and you're going to lose. This is the opportunity for this newer babyfaced wrestler. Really make name, or even just if it's if it's a good story line. He said he always enjoyed that and I was like Oh. That's kind of interesting, like I never I hadn't experienced it, and finally did get the ability to. The opportunity to start doing that like. Losing bigger matches and getting a hopefully a good reaction out of the crowd because you lost, and it is a good feeling man. It is a good feeling knowing this was my idea. This is the finish that I wanted and it worked, and now he just loses tons and tons of matches. If you're good at something, you've got to keep doing unfortunately so true. I think I've brought this up to like. If you look at the trainers now for the perform center, who are they? Fuck I don't know Regal Norman Smiley Robbie Brookside these guys that were never Michael. I mean I'm talking like I. Don't know like. I think he's more of the advanced trainer. Are you talking about like the beginners start talking about like the guys that like are probably in their day to day. You know like you got A. day-to-day. Maybe, but he's working with more polished guys right like he's. He's I. He he's working with. He's the senior year kind of Guy Right. So you have what? Real Robbie Brookside Norman Smiley Matt Bloom these guys that were never like huge in the business, but they were good workers right there solid workers. They went out there. They did the job and it's like these are the guys that are now training the next generation. You don't have stone Cold Steve, Austin and there. You don't have the rock you don't have. Hogan in their training guys. You have these guys that were just the the the fucking foundation right because they had to go in there and they had to work. We'll also for them I. mean part of the problem is. They were kind of a cheat. Code Right with Austin and the Rock and Flair, and all these guys. If you had Hogan, let's see the Hogan Training. School full is it's not gonNA. Work the same because what you're telling them. They'll. They'll have some shit that no one else can offer. Don't get me wrong. How to get the crown on the palm of their hand, things like that but. They're not going to be able to pull it off if Hogan was like. Here's all you gotta do brother. They start punching you and you fucking. Shake your head and you shake your fucking. Keep taking it, and then you rev up and you go around the ring, and then you put your big finger out. You say you. You know what I mean like. It's not gonNA work. Obviously, that's not how they would train them, but they just don't have the charisma that they would have so like the things that are regal could offer. Or brookside could offer versus what a Hogan like. Even though we would put them on this pedestal and say that they're the best that ever existed in this sport as far as like dry money, merge prom promos whatever the case is. That's not the foundation that people have to have like those. They have the intangible that. Most people will never have. And they've taught the basics or the base for this. You know career. The tangible. Come out at some point or another. Yeah, yeah! You know what's the? How long have are been going forward? And I got a real fucking bad too so last thing let's talk about like Chico's right about cheat codes got wrestlers. Are Independent wrestlers right? They came in. They would hold local school or they went to a wrestling school. And they had to work for years and years and years to really fine tune how good they are! They went all over the place. And then you bring in, you know w brings in these these collegiate. Athletes You know very athletic people with athletic backgrounds. You know all these kind of medals and trophies and accolades, and all that kind of stuff and they go, hey. Make. Something out of you because you're athletic, right? You have to Cheat Code. Right, your athletic. Let's get in here, but they do see a problem with that because..

How about one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirty forty fifty sixty seventy eighty eighteen twenty twenty one twenty two twenty three twenty four twenty five twenty six twenty seven twenty eight twenty thirty fifty okay so before before I begin. I want to preface it the conversation with this. I get it. This is hard times. I understand that people are losing their jobs. Be It from the lowest level of employees to The HIGHEST EXECUTIVES. I get it. I know dat the barometer of what's happening now with the pandemic of stuff it's it's it's hurting. I get it I understand. I also understand that. We've we've spoken about it in previous episodes where. Wwe HAS WAY. Too many talents on the roster. We get on their number. The known for whoring the roster they they hoard them so no other people to get them well. Well that's very. Well know what they did was they need secure that no other promotions were to take big name talent because they had to take it for themselves. That's what it was. Bid threw triple h over here to vets himself. Whatever I get it and we even spoke about it many times to wear that there is a. There's a spectrum in which needs to be reopened in a wrestling format because these days. It all seems to be geared to just to fucking promotions and especially in the United States yet it fine and I'm also on the under the assumption as well that look when you sign with. Wwe You know what you're getting into you have to don't act like you're the lost fucking hush sheep. A lost puppy trying to find a new home. You know exactly what you're dealing with when it comes to. Wwe They're gonNA throw you big numbers and tell you and promise you that. Yeah you're you're you're you're you're gonNA spectrum of being a champion you're on the spectrum of being wanted the. Wwe Universe are going to back to because they throw you five figure six figure numbers and you like Shit. I'm I'm making more big one shot then I would if I was cranking days and weeks and years in indies. I get it with you know and especially if you have a family. You're gonNA take that check. Yeah I'm not managing if you take the check me either so which is fine the problem which I I was trying to discuss to certain Andrew shots a JD. 'cause JD and. I had a conversation last night on facebook on a facebook group. My problem is there's a certain TAC. There's a there's a certain way of doing things and there's no comparison when it comes to a local warehouse a local factory or your mom and pop store from the neighborhood or even let's say a fucking you know a walgreens or whatever. There's a difference when it comes to that to a company because not a promotion anymore because W is not considered a a promotion anymore. They're fucking company is a whole company. Like wwe it. There's there's a difference when it comes to that spectrum phone lines are open ladies and gentlemen you if you WANNA call in like I said we just find a way to bring in a whole ski once. I like drop him but Dares I'm sorry but it is. What is what the hell are. We still okay It's it's there's a difference when it comes to a company who is going to be. Let me explain to you quickly. There's there's if you don't know in Business Terminology. There's it's called being in the black in being in the red. This is probably the first time that you've ever heard in any kind of a kind of form of terminology. Such where being in the black is a good thing because usually here blackfriday or call right now. Hold on a second I'll put you back in La turnbuckle tabloid news. A what's up Jay or.

"That you you just thought that they were going to stay in in that promotion because that's all they did and whenever you saw them pop up in WWF it was i holy shit really you didn't know that that would happen and it can move territories imagining after the transition with with warrior it became a weird it kinda change in the early nineties it was weird that's what i wanted to ask you both actually what was the big difference between eighty nine and ninety nine ninety ninety one nothing major was really what changes starting to see in a minute later in ninety one ninety two because that's when WCW ted turner started making the moves to start making more mainstream because in my neighborhood we'd have cable yeah everywhere else when you doc anywhere else in the city you had cable i remember i lived in a project so we didn't we didn't really get fucking cable like jeez yeah but but anybody who had cable you had TBS superstation so i would only now after i was only able to watch WCW stuff on videotape or are i had to go to somebody's house who had like satellite kinda ship yarmulke work yeah it wasn't it wasn't it was rare because anybody who had satellite i i was thinking you put it on this channel because i want to see something like for white and it will be the confusing what fucking watching this i was already by ninety one i was fifteen sixteen years old at the time but yeah that's what i was mark how did you get to watch the later portions of like the WCW stuff like that well beater picks and and we are here like remember don't felt like when you get porno the wigley back back as soon as they lines get real wigley oh dan give us we didn't have people all the out on the south side of mexico way down south unstable but they didn't get those channels because obvious to rear has in here in mexico that each channel muckleshoot weekly television every week what what man i started loosened luck to see reviews for all that i only see royal rumble for menia and so much fun that's it oh yeah that's it only in extreme if he took over i i lean wash it and watch it and you right now i'm starting to like okay we're going to see what's going to happen but i don't see what can you do to necklace that's it man tokar i mean it's like oh my god every now anyone is an actor so here in mexico i'm talking about the mexico i don eight programming of the united states markham's what i'm gonna do a thirty minute pre do a thirty minute about this probably tomorrow probably do it and hopefully you what was your biggest moment in the nineties what was what was the highlight of the nineties that just a doorman the population take your shakur was like wow this is amazing previous obtained nobody can beat them the joke of sooner versus long i'm gonna take her i got into a cockatiel chuck norris was there with him inside protecting because guys trying to about and take your what's the ninety speaker for me was the next step for brooklyn because he old he owns feel that the US he was the undertaker marquel wait was that the need for his day he retires i that's gonna even see lesser less less wrestling because you don't what he wants to hit the mike michael jordan oh i'm i'm gonna get in trouble for this but it's like michael jordan wrestling looking for me you might you might not because honestly there there there are a lot of people who could co sign what you say that look dat was probably the biggest time in the ninety s for for that demographic that that's wendy india gravitated when they had that match that that that that undertaker versus hulk hogan match that that's when the tide started shifting a little bit because you know you had a guy that defeated hokka mania besides i was ultimate ultimate warrior and he looked like a threatening presence in the ring he looked like a hookah work and i i'll do a thirty minute smoke about everyone i remember later on but dad no no you you nail on the head in the early ninety s to the mid nineties probably probably to fool the whole nineties run on the take it was a big fucking presence he was the judge of possibly being the poster guy w we in the nineties he's what do we always found a way to change their markle i gotta let you get above but thanks for calling in and as always thanks for the support fam- the guy and then guys tatum martin mook marco them no one when when he not he he know that on head in that transition that was probably the big transition when you talked about what was the biggest transition was the introduction of dealer at survivor series right and then there had uh-huh google the same night so right because he was supposed to be the he was the undertaking was supposed to be the one that came up and somebody said don't do that don't do that yeah and then they had a pay per view of that tuesday at the firm to put him over with hogan and it was it was kind of a transition of what wrestling was but it went more to more realism no it was more of the things where the gimmicky he was starting to get a little bit more hacky or i would say do dumpster it's hard because the new generation guys kind of thing you still it had the razor ramon you had the ninety two it was known about the same time all was starting to show nineties was a nightmare because that's when WWF started bringing in a lot of the the midsouth guys NWEA guys the more talented little by little that they were oughta aw outta those those those territories resercher and shit like that it was weird but you didn't really like eat you by at that age was fifteen sixteen years old yeah like all right over that shit the gimmicks just the gimmicky about age i was already like the gimmicks was done but dan this is what happened WWW i had gotten i got cable now oh man cable is probably the biggest fucking invention attention for wrestling ever besides the m- the dawn of the day when a gorgeous george i came out on dumont network and shit like that back in the fifties dan rea eventually arresting happened during cable i can imagine because it was a big fucking explosion after the viewers got a big bang wrestling turnbuckle tabloid who's this hello in the bay bridge ben calls in italy van dyke play my british way i'm at work so i can never been well i am unaware wick i begin to feel as though that we don't we don't we don't we don't get any love from you anymore i call it outweigh came on save me but i know i know this is the one that you figured i guess i'm gonna calling for this you gotta talk about the nights we have to talk about the ninety s he said now you mentioned in the comments that are EC w was your introduction to the nineties wrestling yeah yeah yeah i was born in december eighty-eight so i was technically not too when the ninety stole it and it's wrastling franchise i focused on watching movies easy w 'cause i'm not that broken you pitch it on fuck you you know i'm sorry but the guy that's new york shoot i if it was brand new so yeah go ahead sir yeah so i saw one of these wars aren't fucking guys at least pretty cool so yeah yes stingl DC so watch it'll be in then and as time grew on and knots landing star h being like oh there's over wrestling promotion so then style watching coaching WCW dotted even watched two very much in the nineties but then i started watching WWF guy i remember watching you hello you guys were quick to get ec w out there it was on videotape okay houston east videotape watch it okay watch all that hey i was tapes yeah always tape trading it was definitely tape trading you pay per views the day after at my video store because he always recorded it and then he will play it at the store at the store and are watching through the glass because he was trying trying to entice people to rent it from illegally to rent the videos so i will watch it through the glass and then after a couple of views he would tell me to come in and i'll i was i know i'm good because i thought he was like a pedophile such data some shit but he was cool but he neighborhood so he was cool so i really wanna touch you know he wanted it says my dude i was kind of offended because i had i had a pretty dick so i was asked why not why not should i was kind of attractive but honest kind of the guys i kinda soul from w. i mean if you talk about don't be do i is simple as long as the kind of people i can select so when did you find out that the repo man was actually the one half of demolition i went to find out for a long time exactly right yeah yeah i was like repo mine big boss mom those kind of guys are w i was watching this is this was my his day night the kid i would watch baywatch from sticks still seven not not make no judgment here there was there okay i got you and then i'll watch nitro thunder three hours after that was thursday night but it wasn't when he was doing it was like medusa was in it courageous giving those those calls earn out thousands shit off i penny penny you got the norman smiley i don't know that's my guy come on vialli was what kind of guy fawkes was number normally normally look like he was fifty he was only like twenty years old man man norman along about fifty inches longer when it comes to the nineties wrestling if i go to you and be like nineties wrestling what is the first name that positive in your terry foam dreamer oh yeah i wasn't sure w but then west watching WCW faced guy i really gravitate gravitate to because i'm pero wow bureau out of all guys okay cool at the time he was with he was in a eh stable where's the misfits and icy PIN number crossing the dead cool some and so i love those guys because they were they were different but yeah so i don't be rough wasn't really much of my thing in the nineties and then go back and watched you on about your favorite pay per view with a ninety bed duty w bailey do we have mummy issues benue sonoko is mummy issues british issues issues this is you seem to gravitate to the doc the darkness so you have mommy issues guys guys that were a bit like different kinds of things so like i say AC w bailey legal nineteen ninety thousand phase televised paper i made was my dacre my favorite pay-per-view time lately it has to be that that that was the that was the forefront of what it was the counterculture trow what wrestling was.

It's time for Wade and his co host to dive into the listener mailbag the art so we have an eclectic mix of of emails I I'm going to and I don't normally do this. We're going to the same thing we started with at the beginning of the flagship before the mouth and that is the topic of A._W._S.. Announced Take Match V._I._P.. Member Chandler from Indianapolis Indiana said with in Chris Jericho's match against Kenny Omega in the box taking place on A._W._S.. First episode of T._V. on in October who could mystery partners be. Do you believe they are wrestlers. Already thirty opened openly scientist or they take the opportunity on national television debut a newly scientific team or two single stars so now I asked on twitter since we originally talked about this. Who Do you think is going to be his his mystery partners? The most popular response so far is Norman Smiley ANWR office office which would be awesome way but maybe not my it would be awesome but maybe not what I would advise them to do. <hes> the actual most serious option that I think is really intriguing. Although personality wise is kind of quirky fix is l._A._X.. You know that would be that would be great but some other you know. Somebody said I'd like to see them. rant pairing way Damian said to X.. Dodo you guys who had distinct characters yeah. I think I said L._A._X.. Earlier in the show grow as kind of a a team that would seem to be free agents at that time and would be available to eighty W.. <hes> you know the lead Barrett Damien Sandow ish answers is is going to be tough because that's going to make people think of Okay T._N._A.. Tried to do this. They try to take all the former W._W._e.. Wrestlers and make them huge stars in T._N._N.. It didn't work enough info why they weren't top stars Yeah A- and they they even did that Damian Sand how you know he was in T._N._A.. And it didn't work so <hes>. I think you want to stay away from that. I think the thing with L._A._X.. Is They have that <hes> name recognition from the indies as a top tier tag team. <hes> you know maybe a level under the young bucks walks and they don't have that W._W._e.. Failure stench on them and they're a team that I think even if you don't know who they are <hes> you get over with you just based on their personality and based on their entering work so I think all of that sort of conspires to make them in my opinion right now without doing any research about WHO's out there who's available my my favorite choice for that spot right now somebody said and I want to if you agree with this really hope it's not L._A._X...

"But nothing that I felt pulled me you know what I mean? And with everything I felt like I was pushing as soon as, as soon as he said that I was like, that's it. There wasn't a doubt in. Not one doubt in my mind that it was going to get signed, Chris, so do you go there? What happens? So I have my tryout Rubbi Brookside Brookside and William, regal and Jay or were there and Jerry Briscoe on Norman smiley was there as well. And I remember just going through all the drills and everything, and like, anytime, we got tired. I just. Little bit embarrassing thing ODA. I'd sing, you know lose yourself for him. I just knew that I'd get it. I knew that that was what it was meant to do. Kid. You're part of the team more or less. They saw the little that I had for, and they asked me to put. So they had me, I did while anomaly drills and everything like that. And then they asked me to promos, and I was like, yeah, you've been crouching all, yeah. And then, like with the acting background and everything, like that, that just helped me and then actually do acting up. You a lot a lot. I think do you prefer working killer, baby at the moment? I like working baby. I'm excited for one. I turn he'll, eventually though, because I think when it's time when it's when it's short Ganic didn't flip seventeen the rock and I wanted to turn, he'll just because I always preferred working he'll and didn't go my way. And so anyway, when it's time. Yes. Told me when I was when I was on the Indies never never worked baby. Haters, always worked. Yeah. So it's weird for me at came here, and was a baby recipe different. Yeah. But I just find there's more of a comfort zone of working hill, because you can trip you can fall, you can have on your face. You can screw up. Now, you don't necessarily want to but as a baby face you don't really, you can't. You have to stand for something. Tell me about your connection with the crowd, you said early on you connected with the crowd. Why do you think you're able to do that way back then because you've really connected now explain the connection with the crab because a lot of people don't get that one of the. Things that I loved about you mattress Sasha at the pay per view. We're just mentioned was that y'all worked in the ring, and you didn't pan or to the crowd. You weren't begging people to tune into the Majer. Yeah. This part where you cheer me it was a straight up bad ass wrestling match. Why do you think you connect to the crowd? What are the people saying Becky Lynn that? They like I think it's that energy. You know. I don't think it's anything Tonj -able, but I think it's, it's a passion or or feel like they feel like they're very protective over me. You know as well which is another thing. I hear a lot of people talk about how they got a lot of negativity in their social media, and everything like that. I can't say time fleet that I that again much of that, and they're very protective on. I think it's just an energy. They know that I'm passionate a bit this thing know that I've worked hard for this them on. I think it's, it's a genuineness. They can they can sense that or something they can sense that it's real because people pick up on that stuff. They might not know why they, they like something or why they don't. But I feel like they go through the struggles with me, you know and, and they pick up on that. But they know that I can see it at the end of the tunnel and they can't too, and they join me on that journey. You know, and a lot of the time I feel like it's real, you know what I mean I tried to bring a sense of reality into it. Thank you, has to be the businesses work. But I mean for crying out loud. Good work. If you saw in Mexico you saw as technical style in. Yeah. I know he's gonna be known for the big wiggle. But hey even get that over safe Finley as awesome. Damn right. Emmy great match. They saw with this, and I don't even like hardcore matches abyss is, is a is a I don't know how well, he does an agent, but son, j Dutt Sunjay Dutt was awesome. They got plenty of guys that are, that are great that are they were great workers, whether they are. And wwl, here's out loud. Yeah. Jobbers get out of here. Come on. I know he didn't mean it like that. But I mean listen Sean himself, Shawn Michaels himself. I mean heave and said, I'm not that great a trainer. Like he understood there, so many this is not just this is not just pro wrestling. But you can you can find someone in every sport who will tell you this. Okay. There are so many great athletes who are the best in their sport. Who will tell you too. I couldn't teach somebody to do this. I don't even know how do this. I just do it. I mean, you don't you don't there's not a requirement to be like, one of the best workers of all time to be a great agent. Williams baseball player, Cade, the grid, one of the greatest hitters of all time was manager was a horrible for one of the reasons why was because he could not understand how people couldn't play like. Him because it didn't come naturally, naturally them as it does to you, some guys who are just great at something are not great. Teachers sometimes as you're on the air what's going on? Brian you wanted to talk about this third hour off on staying that did that they're doing, like a like a long-term planning? And obviously, if they did have a long term, planning, maybe they wouldn't have to do things like this, where they're just trying to keep the ratings from thinking even further. But I do think that it's an ideal that may work short term simply because of people counting, you know, took him back to like the oats raw where everything was a little bit darker. And I mean, you know, maybe they can bring kith right? Why in the third hour, maybe that'll help time to or you know, just maybe kinda give it a little more edgy a product into our, and maybe you know tip if rarely keep things from going, you know, twenty percent drops from, you know, the first hour to third. Well, I mean listen. They gotta he hasn't had darker program since nineteen eighty five though, it's not darker programming. I mean it's. It's is there something in the third hour that people want to stick around to see if the third hour does. Well this week it is because they really tried. They try to convince you the Brock was gonna cash in at the end of the show. They pushed it and pushed it and pushed it incessantly for three hours. So if the show does a good third hour rating than that helped. But, like I know this is no, I have to explain things like this, but, you know, it used to be that the beginning of the show, they would build up a main event, it would push it for three hours and they would delivered at the end of the show, and like you stuck around to see it now, it's like we build a big match at the end of the first hour. And we built a big mansion, the second the second hour and then we totally give up in the third hour and even Barron. Corbin sir nights made event, and then they can't figure out well that was a little bit different because it started so late. But, you know, most wrestling shows if they had a main event, they built a main event. Throughout the show, and then they delivered it at the end w doesn't do that anymore..

Because, you know, even though we've spent the most of the episode just really being down on the superstar shakeup, there were some moves that were made that I think we're gonna enjoy the long run on trying to Ross one of them fin to smack that another one, but Kevin Owens with the new day is another one of them. And they got their first win as you unit and Kevin got to step in for biggie and really fill that role. So because I enjoyed that those bright spot for this week the new come in number two number one. Got Mark Henry the number one. You mentioned his Boston open show. They're having a conversation while it's right now as recording. But by the top people here that they're gonna be able to go listen to serious about just black wrestlers in the history of black wrestling, and they got some people call him in shoemaker call then Darren young called in we call them. I think it's a conversation that needs to be had and heard I think people are gonna enjoy listening to it. So after you check this out go check that out at saw busted open from today. Friday, April nineteenth as it should be up should be up. Now. Yeah. Exactly on on your Sirius XM on demand. You definitely definitely look for that. And I know they put clips on YouTube and stuff like that as well. Also, I meant to mention when I was on that show. Norman smiley. Oh, yeah. Who's who's? Now. A great annexed trainer and world class guy who's been around wrestling, forever WCW and all over the world. So did you watch. Did you watch the bruiser Brody vice land show this week? I did not. I caught the Montreal. Screw job one though. So you so yeah, I I got to watch the screw job one. Because I watched on the on the app, they had bruiser Brody. And that was probably the one I was most interested in. How is the screw job? One. Does it introduced us to anything? We didn't already. So to answer that does it introduces things that we already know. I would say, yes. But it's like so couple of things right? Thirty seconds in Bruce Prichard mentions. You know, it's Brett's last day with the company he should've dropped tight. Title. And I had to sorta roll my eyes at that. Because it was not breads last company he had three weeks left on his contract after survivor series. So for them to just set it up in that way. It's just like, okay. This is the documentary supposed to be having the facts people is one of the facts, and it's it's it's a false premise L A. So I mean, if you set aside some of the things that you know, to be false that they present yard you can be into tainted by the presentation style. But just right off the bat. Then was that idea that? He had limited time on the clock. They weren't. And the other thing was Jim cornet and Vince Russo both take credit for the idea of the screw job. Interesting into wanna take that they were at a meeting with Vince together. In the weekend of the week before survivor series. Like in the lead up to it in Connecticut advances house, just those three of them. And then the stories diverge on the one hand you have Jim cornet. A really interesting history lesson and then say. So I told Vince you get ready to sharp shoot of nobody'll see comment ring, the bell, boom. And then on the other hand, you have been Rousseau's say that's not true. I'm actually the one who suggested to vents in this meeting. And then it's just like, okay. This is this is ridiculous. But it's good ridiculous. Because now the conspiracy theory gets fleshed out even more like who's telling the truth here. So it's tightening for sure I will take it all with a grain of salt as far as it being a super facts in the definitive word on what happened in Montreal..

"It's all I wanted to do a time training. I did a frog. Splash over the crash pad and landed straight on my face bus today, bleeding everywhere. And then I was terrified to do a frog splash until until I got to the main roster. I have to do it for wrestlemainia, but I was terrified ever since that to to do a frog splash. But I really didn't feel like I found my way of what I was doing until I got down to an extent I started working with dusty Rhodes in. Training with the likes of joy mercury. Norman smiley. I feel like those two really helped me with knowing who I wanted to be as a wrestler, but just teaching me just this little things that kind of click for me, even more. It's beginning. I mean. Sore Jay, but I just think back to like get I getting in and just being a black hole of charisma just like knowing with your hands. Just it's it's a weird concept you grow up watching it. And you think ok well, this is it, but it is a hard thing to get used to. And it's I think we've heard from pretty much all of the guests on the show that at some point dusty has put his fingerprints on them to to help them kind of discover what it is or regal or dreamer. Those seem to be the three names that always pop up. So it's nice to hear Norman and mercury get there due to. Yeah. It's it's pretty crazy mean when I first got started. I was just more just so thankful and happy that I got signed by the the I I was just I felt like I was too nervous to even try to stand out because I'll just trying to be myself of just as happy go lucky girl, just like.

"I'd say in the card, and so man, you know, I'm a young guy in a business not even a year. And of course, you know, Danny Davis nightmare, Danny Davis. But in probably at that time fifteen years and was a hell of a hand great psychology premier worker. And so I figured man. I ain't gotta think about nothing always because I always call all my matches because I don't hear very good. And so I'm just gonna listen to Danny, you know, so because he's a veteran and by all rights, I should and saw just went up to him before went on to say Damian. And then you want to do tonight. He goes, no, no Rogers listening to you. This kind of guy. Danny Davis is I said, I said Danielson, I didn't think of anything all day. I just figured I listen to you. Because you're you got no kid 'cause I seen you work. You got it. If you get lost. I'll give you a hand. And that's what Danny Davis did for me back in the day, and trusted me and got me out of a couple of jams that night in a ring. And I always loved working with him one quick story. What about a role one time? Danny's chop chop people. Yeah. And so he backed him in a corner started shopping about three times, and he's mummy. Ran a started shopping me. And after about three of my home and ask the doodad like the hardest hand at world in his bayton at tar out of my chest almost bleeding. So I left him a little note, Dan, east always travel with the Cameron, I left I went to the dressing room because I was eliminated somewhere in some little crappy town, and I left him a notice that F you and your chops and Gobert cross dressing. Wait wanna read it when laughing but daddy Dave's helped you out help me out back to the performance center. Who are the guys training these cats? The ring there's actually a pretty pretty decent crew of build demont. Norman smiley, Nick Dinsmore is finally down there. Billy gunn. I want to say this is a crew of about seven trainers. And they also have some W w W superstars is still based in Tampa summer now based on Atlanta's as well. So you have a current flux of WW superstars coming in there right now they bring in w superstars in air for a reboot or just to. Filtered through and drop some forward warnings kit. I just think it's for more information. They're honestly, they're given the people who are down in an XT every single chance to succeed. I mean, their practices can go from camera straight to Connecticut live time as it happens. So not only do you have your trainer's down there. But you have who's ever watched it on the other end in the tower looking at you as well. I get an opportunity yet. How often do you go down there since it's opened I've been on their four times. Now your day. What are you going to go down there and give them a motivational speech? Dannon dropped some information on them talking about the road. I'm actually I've actually done different things. Every time I've been down there. I was a TV broadcast at full sail. And I was just a advertisement events. I was not on television as just afterwards for the house. But after I talked to the entire group they have an auditorium setup that the group changes in. But I talked the entire group and told them what an opportunity and t was because it is just that like triple h goes to every. You don't have a better chance again spotted by somebody that by him like every time you go through the curtain in the next you got a chance to break out. Right. And then another time was when I was rehabbing my elbow. So I actually got in and got in the ring and got in the ring with some of the guys I just did a muscle and fitness shoot for a cover. That's gonna come out and wrestlemainia I did performance center. And I I worked out with Antonio's Azzaro, which he is another abnormally strong cat. I've heard. Yeah. And just wonderful in the ring. He is the stuff. He does is pretty impressive. And I was down to the performance center itself. Just to take a tour of the place. Check it out..
