"Start drinking, designate a sober driver call a taxi uber whatever you've got if someone you know has been drinking, take their keys and arrange for them to get sober riot at home. We all know the consequences of driving drunk but one thing is for sure you're wrong. If you think it's no big deal drive sober or get pulled over this is. The part of the PODCASTS that we we've been teasing since the beginning Tristan Mackenzie you know the name because he just made his Major League debut for the Cleveland Indians went out there ten paunchy. Sorry about it. I think what month we in, August August I would say I would put this in the. I would nominate I don't know how many nominees we're going to have I. Think we should have the starting nine awards every year at the end of the year. I think it's a it's going to be a nominee. View the year Oh. Okay. Okay. Gotcha. Yeah. I think we should have like now that we have to start nine, read it and everything we have a place where these votes can actually take place like episode of the year interview of the year. Things of that nature I think that when it? By the end of the year of Jay Hayes listening somewhere somewhere out there the add to sprinkler system was acting up again. Yeah. The sprinkler system winning. Yeah. It rained like the day before then his sprinklers went off and he was over saturating his front lawn. So Moist. Yeah. Had to fix that. If Jay gets around to listening to this podcast let's let's do an award show and For me, this is a strong candidate. For interview the year. Trista Mackenzie. All right, we are here with Trista Mackenzie. Indians this was This was a major league debut that if you paying attention last week one, one of the highlights of that. Nolan Jones, who's been on the podcast with US already. one of the coolest moment and it's Kinda like it's it's the perfect picture of what life is like in baseball and twenty twenty. One of your teammates one of your boys he can't even be there to watch but he's on a rooftop across the street to watch your Major League debut. You're out there punching out ten dudes in your Wilder League debut. Did you know did you know that he was out there on all off like Amanda? But. We guys around me help me. An Athlete Game I heard about it. So I. Think you will yeah because because typically all the boys back home like whether it's you know whether you got called up from double a or you're in three everybody gathers around in the training room everywhere wherever the fuck a evey. That's where the boys are gathered around and they're watching you take the bumper the first time. So with an inability to do that, it had to be pretty awesome to get those texts I'm sure you saw those images of no gel hanging over the fuck I mean how ridiculous was that to you what you step back and realize like damn man? I I'm still getting the support. It was it was one hilarious. Last be he was living hanging over.

"No determined in determination yet how long it may go on and weather guys will need to be quarantined or not, but that's another issue. For the Astros to deal with the other one, I think is pretty cool. The Indians brought up Tristan Mackenzie from their alternate training site, one of their top pitching prospects to pitch in the game tonight against the Tigers in Cleveland. Well, if you're the alternate training site, you can't be at the ball Park unless you've been called up to the active roster. So Tristin Mackenzie's best friend Nolan Jones, is the top Position prospect for the Indians. He is at the game on the rooftop of the parking garage beyond the scoreboard in left field at Progressive Field, watching his best friend make his major league debut. That's pretty cool. Inside the numbers. Charlie Blackmon, hopefully will be the guy to help lead the Rockies to a win tonight in Los Angeles. Right now, Charlie is hitting 309 in his career against L. A. That's the third highest batting average among all active players against the Dodgers. That's not too shabby, and Charlie has had a hit in 11 straight games now, including last night that goes back to June of last year. He is hit 409 on the streak with four doubles, a triple three homers and 10 R B eyes six of those 11 games. Dad, Dodger Stadium..

"And they'll have a thirty man taxi squad where they're gonNA have different players. They can call up so that guys that are just kinda working out all those types of things. So what was really interesting to me was to see some of the prospect decisions that were made with these sixty men, rosters and again these. These guys are gonNA. Be Around the major league club the whole time, but you want to try to keep an eye on some of your guys. You want to try to do whatever you can with simulated a games keep them close to the major league facility. Stuff like that so when you look around at this here. What's really interesting is the players that will be available for the entire season. Because you're going to walk into situations here this year, where maybe a team starts, you know ten, twenty, five or five and twenty something like that well at that point in time in this format. You don't have time to play catch-up. You only have sixty games, so you better start. You know at least five hundred or better to give yourself a chance, so it's invariably going to happen here. Is that by the time we get to September? Some of these teams will start using these prospects. Some of these teams will start trying to take a look at these guys either in. A spot start capacity or low leverage, or have them around the team. You know to be that. Pinch runner, and the tenth inning, or maybe just get a few swings here and there, so that's something that's going to be really interesting to follow as the season goes along the teams that are playing for anything. How do they structure this? How do they set this up? And I talked last week about season. Win Totals in about some of my thoughts those. This has to be a big consideration now because this is already going to be a lost season for a lot of organizations in particular teams that aren't very good. They wanted their players to develop at their AA AAA affiliates. Maybe get that September call up or after the super to deadline. Something like that well now. The only option for those players. is to participate in some semblance of these sixty games, so you're GonNa have teams that later on in the year may go with a youth movement, and it's also difficult, too, because you have to acquiesce to the wishes of the players that are on your major league roster, the guys that are up for contracts and what to make money so I don't envy these front offices this year, a lot of very tough very personal decisions will have to be mainly in the year. And, that's going to be something that's going to be kind of interesting to watch especially with the Labor negotiations coming up all the strife between the two sides. Already. You know what happens. What happens with that? This is going to be almost a powder keg. You know because a lot of things could explode a lot of different ways, and that's assuming that we don't get you know a massive outbreak of cases where you know, things have three put hold things at me canceled stuff like that, but specifically from a player personnel standpoint here the Yankees Right. Guys like David Garcia and Clark Schmidt the raise Shane! Baz, Wander Franko the top prospect in all of baseball, nineteen years old is going to be around the team. Do the rays who are a very progressive organization to begin with. Do they give him a chance to get you know fifty plate appearances over the last week week and a half. If something happens, they're dot the running. Use Him. Anyway. The Blue Jays Neat, Pearson. He may be in their starting rotation. Right from the jump. They're not. They weren't expected to be a primary contender this year. So why not use him as one of your five starters every every week? That could be an option for them. Most of the top system prospects are on the J sixty man roster. That's not necessarily the case. A lot of teams are white that but the Blue Jays are one where they've taken all their top prospect. Guys, so that's an interesting situation. The tiger is maybe the most interesting. Because their rotation is not very good. But all of their top pitching prospects are on their sixty man roster and. Several of these guys may end up making the team. Guys like Casey Mayes Teric, scoble. That manning. Alex Fado they've got guys that are probably better than what they have. In House Matt Boyd and maybe a healthy Michael Fulmer so the Tigers made go full full-fledged youth movement. Try to get some something that looks like a year of development out of their young starting pitchers. The Indians Nolan Jones. No Jones is going to be with this ballclub when they trade Francisco Lenore. They'll probably. Probably Move Jose Ramirez too short for the time being maybe he plays second I don't know but Nolan Jones he may be an opening day third Baseman for the Indians and twenty twenty one tyler Freeman, another pretty good middle infield prospect George Valera, one of their top outfield prospects, if the Indians go in the tank, and they've been a slow starter during the Terry Francona years. Do they trade Lynn Door. With this abbreviated season, do they bring some of these younger guys up? possibly. The royals they're probably not going anywhere. Even in a sixty game sprint still probably not going to be a very good team. Bobby Witt junior brady singer. Do these guys get some extended playing time? That's a possibility for the angels. Joe Adele Brandon Marsh couple of outfielders for them a team that has been desperate to find offense over the last few years. They get Anthony don't now. They still have trout. Obviously. Shohei Otani is back. This offense is looking to live better, but maybe a guy. Guy Like Adele can work. His way in play left field something like that. Maybe Brandon Marsh same thing the angels see that's the difference here you want look at the composition of these rosters. Angels' the Astros. They don't have a lot of great prospects anymore. They've got some good ones most of their guys already in the Big Leagues Forest Whitley hasn't been healthy in a sixty game like this where he could be very high leverage or mid leverage reliever. Maybe that's a good thing for them. So teams like the angels, the Astros you're the Yankees, the raise the Indians. They're able to use these prospects. To kind of supplement, the roster a little bit. Whereas a t, Mike The blue jays there wouldn't be better. I think because they made a lot of transactions over the off season, but it makes sense for them to have a lot of their top prospect, because if things go awry. They can evaluate what they've got mariners. All of their top prospects are on hand. Something another team where you're. They're probably going to play a very young lineup especially as we get deeper into this thing. These things have an impact on the season long bets, and not even just with that team specific win total, but again remember every team within the division is playing ten games against the division opponent. That's one sixth of the Games that you're playing if the mariners or the Blue Jays or the Tigers or.

"Most. Everything's going to be bunched up in this sixty game format unless some team just goes ape shit, and those forty and twenty or forty, five and fifteen something like that. So you're going to have to win the game that you're supposed to win. And that means your bullpen is to be reliable. And Yeah mostly good bullpens are teams that have short prices, so that is a little bit of a catch twenty two there, but it team like the padres could do really well in this format with that dominant bullpen. Maybe a team, the as not that their prices great, but maybe it. He like the as can't actually run down to Houston in sixty games as opposed to over one hundred sixty two games. A team like the rays can most definitely run down the Yankees in this format. So again you just Kinda WanNa look at each individual situation, and you also want to look at the schedules are going to be playing. If, you're going to dabble in the futures market. And something else here I think is really interesting to in the Atlanta braves GM. Alexandroupolis is already talked about this. They're going to do piggybacks. They're going to do four men rotations. They want to do some different things with their starting pitchers, because they have so much starting pitching depth, and in particular early on in this abbreviated season, the roster thirty men after two weeks ago was down at twenty after two more weeks. It goes down to twenty six, so if I'm an MLB team looking at the first two weeks, I'm loading up on pitchers and I'm doing piggybacks. I'm doing. Man Rotations I'm doing openers. I'm doing a lot of creative. Things could try and stretch out starters a little bit. And also put myself in a position to where maybe I've got those starters in better forum for the latter part of the season of also looking at the schedule I'm trying to align my best starting pitchers with the Games that will matter more. You'll have your the Indians. You've got to set this thing up where you get as many bieber and clever starts against the twins and white sox and humanly possible. If you're the Yankees, you want Garrett. Cole facing Tampa Bay as much as possible. So, these are things that these teams are going to have to figure out but for us from a handicapping standpoint. I mean this is going to be difficult because you may have a lot of scenarios where starting pitchers go two or three innings. You're going to have multi inning, openers and piggybacks, and all that kind of thing. You're going to have teams really trying to limit the usage of their fifth starter, because you're only playing sixty games and there are six off days. So you can find ways to manipulate your rotation to skip that number five. To go with foreman rotations stuff like that. This is Trevor Bauer has always wanted for the reds. He wants to pitch every fourth day. He feels like with his training and his preparation. That's something that he can do well now. Teams can experiment with these things you don't have to worry about a third time through the order penalty because you've got a little bit of an expanded roster especially in the first four weeks of the season. You can pull guys going twice in the lineup. Or wants through the lineup stuff like that, so teams are going to be really creative here with this, and so from a betting standpoint from an individual standpoint I'm kind of concerned about that because you're going to have a much, obviously, everything is so much different here in twenty twenty. We're going to have any much different structure and set up for these Games where one team maybe doing something kind of unconventional outside the box. And other team might not be. Other team maybe doing everything traditionally. Furthermore. Prospects right? There's no there are no minor league games this season. There's going to be taxi. Squads Local Minor League ballparks for these teams, but there will be no minor league season. So if you're the marlins or the orioles, when the Tigers but the Tigers are good example, right? They've got some pretty good pitching prospects guys look at Casey Mayes. Well you just like Casey. Buys make ten starts in this abbreviated season and not worry about it. If you're the Indians. You try to fit Nolan Jones in there somewhere because next year you're probably moving Jose. Ramirez back to short and Training Francisco Lindor. So you try to find out if Jones is your third baseman. A lot of teams are would have these prospect decisions to make where they're gonNA. Have to decide. You know what do we do here? Do we try to make this big push to win? The world series in this abbreviated season, or we worry about our long term, organizational health and play some of our prospects. Do, we see maybe some better start. Do we see the white sox run Michael? Kopech out there in high leverage relief situations. You're. There were a lot of different things if these teams are going to do and each team's individual situation is going to be different. So, that's another reason why I don't think futures are great. Even seasoned win totals are going to be very dicey and if you take anything away from my MLB rambling here today, it should be this and listen very closely. Do not bet any futures right now. Don't bet any futures until the season is about to begin. Because the last thing you WanNa, do is get locked into a future and somebody gets hurt or not. One guy gets covid, but eight guys have it several guys test positive. What is the ceiling for a team? If eight guys get positive tests and all of a sudden, they're out two weeks. You're the start of the year something like that. There is no reason to rush to the market. We always talk about getting closing line value and trying to get ahead of the number and stuff like that, and that's critically important. International cases this.

"To the Yankees kicking off their. post season series which I think it's fair to say at this point it's going to be the Minnesota Twins I mean unless you tell me Houston is just got a flat out collapse and lose out the remainder of the year the Yankees are setting themselves up yet again to play a team that day of the store glee own over the last two decades and well the two thousand and nineteen Minnesota Twins don't have anything in common with two thousand three in two thousand four. AJ Pierzynski Emporia hunter and shot Jones are walking through that door. or two thousand and nine in two thousand ten with Justin Moore Nolan Jones our in Michael Kidd dire. these are very different Minnesota twin twin teams they're very different however. dad better starting pitching a deeper in the bull pen and it to a lot of static can not do you know what a ball. in trying to figure out what your rotation is gonna look like. Severino to me is the guy you wind up again. the reason you are him up in game two is because you know you're gonna be using a ton relievers most likely the Severino start. because a lot of pages if he's not efficient. you have a day off mixed in between games doing N. Tory. good strategy. you also hoping that in game one you get a good amount a lying data levers paycheck and if that is James Baxter Masahiro Tanaka you probably can count on that. I would wind up the rotation ten aka Severino packs in boulder. that's what I would do. don't feel right now the Yankees gonna do the opposite they're gonna girl. accion Severino than aka. this is about bags in Antarctica and who's starring twice in this series. maybe I'd use going to set it up will lose Severino stretching game one again five I'd be very very surprised. bad things been dominant. game five Jana folks last few months he's been incredible but in a five game series the guy one going twice the guys got. the most. battle tested demeanor and look and feel about. that has all of that. can you be get Masahiro Tanaka on extra rice grown any game on any began a minor stress going into game five. you'll be will get to that point. that's the way I'm set it up. Tenaga Severino backspin Oprah let's say the Manhattan our good buddy Robert he joins us on a phallus out Robert AJGA you know usually you and I discussed NFL and ideas about Sunday and I'm very curious but I guess so wait till Thursday or Friday or whatever that deeply analyze a certain game on for the afternoon different looking forward to but let's be switched to baseball. I really don't have any dog in the National League I still kind of a Dodger fan from way back in Brooklyn I remember how held her and I remember the dad's minute all the announcers said Carl for real and all that stuff. I gotta tell you JJ I'm developing a soft spot this Milwaukee T. **** may look when Christian yeah which went down I said all that's a big old off the cliff good body call it the dogs the party's over but boy this is the walk and I can't even tell you JJ who their front pitching is I can't tell you with their races and I'm kind of hoping I don't know great kind of hoping that they go deep in the playoffs so here's my two part question to you part one who do you like the wild card Tuesday night Washington in Milwaukee I don't even know what the picture would be big you can tell me and number two who's going to give the Dodgers the toughest tasseled Milwaukee Washington St Louis or Atlanta let's start first with your second question to me the biggest challenge for the Los Angeles Dodgers in getting to that third straight World Series would be the Atlanta Braves and the reason I say would be the land a Braves is all of their young line out they have improved their bullpen their pitching is better than people give it credit for I think that land is the real deal and I think that that post season experience that they had a year ago he's really going to help him out now is for is always going to be the one to call in the National League I think most people Robert would tell you it's going to be Washington because they would have mashers are lined up the page that game and that the national board the likely will be playing at home I would sleep on the walkie breus you in on it only three they could go what would your if they could go with Davies they could goal opener I don't know what the brewers would do as far as who would start that game I I don't know that's a very very good question and let's be honest they don't have that ideal lockdown guy that the national still no matter who walkie throws in the wild card game. they're not matching Mad Max well here's the problem I have with the nationals. yeah they're both have eighties pope and they're also with team the Robert that has come up small in the post season in these are what action games over and over and over again and I think it's a national team that if they wanted to trouble and the face of adversity I'm curious to see come playoff time how they handle it well I tell you what JJ looking forward we start next Tuesday night then we get to Wednesday's game and then starting October effect at the third with or whatever it is a week you know we start you know with real October baseball so but I can't wait for your weekend takes a urinalysis like I say there's a certain game on Sunday afternoon that I would like you to analyze it as only JJ can do with your keen mind so there you go what I will do my very best I appreciate the call is always in yes Robert is all fired up for the patriots and the Buffalo Bills which will be a juicy game on Sunday because the way on to the surprise of no one rain owl and buffalo after they met live sweep and a win against the Cincinnati Bengals but had a lead surrendered that lead came storming back in the one in the fourth quarter Sean McDermott and Josh Allen a three you know on the air. the bills I think you have a very good chance of making the postseason. with their schedule they got two games left for the Miami Dolphins staff some soft games along the way both of you get the ten. every year you want to prove to me that you can there I say look the patriots in the eye and be a legit competitor them you can find a way to beat. so in front of a rocking crowd Reno buffalo can you find a way to slow down the freight train it is the bats but before we New Jersey Leslie he joins us these on a family that Leslie I know it's not gonna be popular what I'm gonna say but it was the two things here one the message to retain the key tell it. wow I gotta be honest rely solely. coming from you this is like shocking shocking stuff I got a man I'm startled by this. listen to part of a wall because the Mattoon could hire the public will draw draw the Bruce both G. "It's fun to speculate on who's raise. Parents were but there answer was. A non answer in a way. It's they didn't even give us anything. So it's fun to speculate. It's oh it was wrong. But that's, that's cool too. It was there there. There is no answer. So you were trying to solve a question that wasn't there. We'll both and the same thing with smoke. Who smoke? What is he going to do? He's going to do nothing. Didn't mind it. I don't I don't I don't let that aspect ruined a movie completely for me. Even I wish it was a little bit better. But I think both sides of that argument kinda throw it out. And like you said, oh, you didn't come true. Which is very expectations. That's why I don't like it which is very service level. And I mean yeah. The other side saying, oh, just because it subvert your expectation doesn't mean it's, it's good or it's deserved or things like that. And. This story just a middle ground. You're some conversation to be had about it. And I think it makes with the one off or something that, like, oh, I'm gonna go see this movie a here, exact good reviews, and then it happens in that and you're like, whoa, I was not fucking expecting that, that's I haven't seen something like that. I didn't think that was going to happen. And I think it's more favorable rather than something even theorising and thinking about and trying to played out your head for all these years to questions washing game of thrones first season when before that does first questions, do you, did you see that coming? No genuine and to how is it? How's was it reacted to? Oh, people get knows considered brilliant. Yeah. Who's a stunning revelation and kinda set the set the table for what the show is going to be. But that's the thing game of thrones is very much. You always need these in John in. John twist would have been if nets the bad guy. Right. Oh, wow. Ned was working a little finger this whole time to usurp. Okay. Then, yeah, that would suck that would, but you get into game of thrones. You don't realize that you're settling into a deconstruction of the drama that it's taking place in so Ned dying is your first introduction to what this show is actually going to be. So that's that is truly the essence of a Saverne of expectations. But every movie is subverting your expectation because you don't know how a movie is going to end. And if a movie is very predictable than it, usually sucks. But it's, it's very specific where people are just throwing this around for everything the using it as a defense or a criticism. And it's kind of gotten out of hand while was having a conversation and or something like you know what would you want to? Like, all right. Director going into like a big franchise like let's say a Star Wars, or they're remaking something an already established property con-. Like what a turn teams doing. We're Star Trek. Yeah. I guess. Yeah true. But it's like, you know, debate like would you rather them give you everything that you want, as a fan or would you want them to put their own spin and kind of depends on the director of his Tarantino new, I trust them? So it's, it's, it's a fine line. And I think I wanna go in not knowing most most the time and just kinda see, like where does this take me? What is this guy going to do to kind of expand on what I already know and kind of I want some new things sewn in their keep me on my toes. But, you know, sometimes people perceive that is going to far or strength too far away from what they already was, what is established in what they wanted to see and doesn't work at all the time. All right. This question here from curium Nolan Jones at curia Nolan j scariest horror film. You've ever seen and why. I would say. Yeah. Because I believe in that stuff. The conjuring is very scary. "He could be in Cleveland as soon as next year. And I'm thinking just kind of a head. When you ask about Jason kipness. You move Jose Ramirez to second you put Nolan Jones of third base in you have power hitting prospect. Bobby Bradley, come play first base. Let's middle infield that set for five seven ten years. So when you look at for instance, will Lindor and you look at guys that could play shortstop not just with him outright now. But you know, assuming contract stuff happens in knock on wood. Forbid that he's not in Cleveland. You know, those guys that are invaluable now to the Indian system. I mean, this is almost a sixteen war between two players when it comes to Ramirez door when it comes to friends at school endure, man, he is one of the best characters in all of baseball. What does he actually mean to this organization in his see kinda like, you know, the centerpiece to the entire team? Yeah. I mean, he's the glue that holds it all together. He is not just loved and Cleveland. But he's in my opinion, if not the most he's one of the most marketable players invasion. Absolutely. And with rob Manfred. Make comments about my trout, not being marketable or whatever. The the context was pointing it was it was a dumped take that Manfred had but Francisco Lindores one of those guys that you could market, you know, look at the porta Rico game last year. One of the best moments of the entire major league baseball season postseason Ray season spring training. It was was the home run that Francisco Lind or hit in Puerto Rico. When the Indians played the twins just set entire nation off its set. The entire thing off it made every second of planning every second of expenses every second of travel every second of headache that the major league baseball brass the front front office people within the Cleveland Indians and Minnesota Twins. It made all the headaches and all that trouble to get them to Puerto Rico worth it, whatever that costs them. It was worth it. Because of one swing of that Francisco Lindores, the kinda guy that. He's a guy that can make any major league baseball team better. If you plug him into that lineup. He's the guy that's gonna hit close to three hundred. He's gonna get home runs. He's gonna hit home runs which. Yeah. The home run power. When it first started happening was kinda surprising. He hit fifteen in two thousand sixteen that was thought to be like the roundabout than all of the sudden he comes up, and it's thirty three twenty seventy. It's like, wow, that's a massive spike, then he doubles down in its thirty eight last year. So I'm not saying he's gonna hit forty this year. But what it is that expectation was a thirty home run ninety RBI season with twenty five stolen bases and a three fifty on base. Is that it that's a realistic? Expectation for Cisco indoor this is a if there were preseason MVP awards. He might would preseason MVP the American League, we were actually just going through kind of preparing for, you know. As Gabby stands in switch. Hitter batting lefty He is oh for. To strike out on a ground out to. Second the wind and the pitch but, he with a drag bunt first base side Jackson can't get it second baseman. Lipid glove toss defers not, nearly in time, that was a perfect bunt single by Gabby may he hit a off. The six Well you use the. Tools that you have in your belts and. For Bahia tool number one is speed A really. Good job wielding the bat and pulling that blunt too far for Jackson the pitcher to get to it and the goal there is always. To roll it toward the second base area toward the second baseman so that the pitcher can't. Get it the first basement can't get it in the second basement has to charge make a tough play it's the toughest play for, the second baseman today on that, ball above anybody else because are the first the furthest from first base the pitch. To Barati. A, swinging a fly ball shallow left McLean coming in toward the line makes the. Catch route number one That's what. May he did now running on I with one out after the fi- Rostker Gonzales we're talking about the Catholic playoff hopes and we, started by saying the loons aren't, out of it, because they're in last place but it is a very very congested. The vision And it's. Really anybody's division to win anybody's wildcard, to win sixteen is fighting for two spots or the captains have not fallen that far, out of favour despite a, five game. Losing streak This is. A team that, could really get hot in a hurry. And think the offense. Really is to center around this guy Oscar Gonzales here's the pitch swing and a message of, fastball middle away nothing in one If. The captains are going to make a run that is predicated. On offensive success With Nolan Jones promoted to high. A Oscar Gonzales has been one of the best captains hitters in the second half Will have to be the igniter Other pick off to I mean he evac safely Oscar waiting Jackson picks. Off lows, play back again Hard to Understate how important Nolan Jones was to. The offense once he got going But with him gone somebody else has to step up and I think. Oscar's number one candidate Here's the pitch in the dirt sliding block they'd by patriot Gotten off to a slow start at August. Two for twelve But his second half numbers I think show that he has the ability to catch fire spin interesting have, to have split for Oscar Now the set from Jackson the pitch in the dirt and a block by Petri It's interesting because from a batting average perspective. He's, been better in the, second half but he slugged better than half number one More home runs more doubles higher, slugging percentage result a Jairo PS but, I think the bigger difference for him is He has struck out. Less pick off I may, back safely again they're, really keeping a. Close eye on him his selectivity has gotten better And it's just going. To be a matter of Him squaring the ball up like your shoney's capable of doing doing some serious damage Mahia, leading from I with one out. Two in one the count top, of the six here's. The pitch a high shopper too short a Maya gloves goes to second one on the first in Gonzales beats the throw from lipid Mahiout at second to gone six four. Fielder's choice Jose Medina to the plate Tune-up it There's another guy who could be the catalyst for, this offense Jose. Medina Don't write off what he has done, since July Excluding today He is A total of eighteen for fifty two, three forty six average in that span with three homers and. Four, doubles no the. Double today Here's the kick on the pitch fastball inside one. Ball, in those strikes Talked about selectivity Dina, I think in the last. Few games shown how selective he can be here's a number for you Is five walks. In the second half yet seven all of the first town off back, to first Gonzales back safely Actually we have six walks Andre, Jackson to the set Now the one oh but of fouls it back over our heads out of play So far tonight Medina double and a walk the captains have three hits Medina doubled in the second Laureano. Singled in the, fourth, and Gabby Mahia with a bunch single listening in the sixth To nothing Great Lakes The captain's trying to claw back Jackson. To the set at the letters the one one in the dirt nice sliding block by Petri Mugniyah back to first base Left-hander Austin Rury getting loose in the bullpen for the loons We saw him back at classic park.

"The indians paying a big price for a manny machado especially as we say when they're going to be so many great options in the third base market like dacas yes i think it's much more likely that they do the ladder that they go for a modest upgrade at third base if anything at all they could also just say you know what we're going to spend any any resources we have on upgrading the bullpen because because of what you just described and because their system is a little topheavy there's three or four prospects were really good and then there's a bit of a drop off in in perceived value within the industry after you get this past those first couple of names and if you package if you say all right we're not trading bahia we're not trading mckenzie's had some issues this year anyway we're not trading nolan jones we'll talk about guys after that then you're not getting the machado types if swimming that the orioles are holding firm on a premium price for that you're going to go get bullpen help and given their position in the standings and the the way that bullpen pieces do tend to play a little bit knock tober it's probably the right strategy for them anyway given their position in the standings and the state of their farm system would you agree with me real quick double back on the indians that the potential if they were to actually give up prospect for machado that investment we have a chance to evaporate very quickly dallas yes they were but i think we all thought they were going to be bianchi's last year they looked like the better team they had the matchup seemed to particularly favor them the yankees we're coming out of a wildcard team where they had just used severino was their best starter in this would only start one time in the series it's one thing we know about playoff baseball the biggest advantage you can possibly have are we stayed people ask me what are the odds of this wanted to series this team when it's never more than sixty forty and even that is probably stretching it the worst team the inferior team wins all the time so paying a lot for an upgrade just for fifteen at bats in october is kind of stupid yeah it really is indians people are not stupid they're really good at what they do we got about two minutes left and so that leaves us the two teams that i think you and i would agree might be at the forefront of this conversation the dodgers who earned certainly have the the form system to get manny machado and the diamondbacks who from what i'm told don't have a lot at the top of their form system but they may be more motivated like i've heard from other teams they think that the diamondbacks window for win the nationally west might be better now than it is in upcoming years because aj pollick is in free agency patrick corbin senator free agency paul goldschmidt could be a free agent after next year so the thought has machado and talked to the orioles extensively during the winter about machado so they could be aggressive the dodgers could be as well but i just never have seen into friedman who runs baseball ops for the dodgers ever been a person who's going to overreact in overpay and that's what the oil is going to be looking for yes i so i agree with all of that starting with these the two best fits we have the diamondbacks are a little more motivated i think dining the diamondbacks front office also more aggressive in the trade market but they are less well equipped to make a major deal especially because one of their best prospects of the guy had raided i in their system coming into this year john duplantier a starting pitcher who missed his whole sophomore year at rice with shoulder issues is now on the shelf again with biceps tendinitis which is usually shoulder soreness essentially and we're talking about the orioles who could flunk a pitchers physical if he sneezes during the examination i cannot imagine that they're going to take duplantier as the lead prospect in a deal for machado and hand wave away the.
