"May have had well, and we've talked to like Jason because you know, we've we're obviously right here at the end of the NFL season. We've talked a lot about having a disgruntled player and what that could do for your locker room. What? What That could do, just just in general and the fact that Nolan Aaron Auto wanted to be traded. At the end of the day, you had to do what was best for for the club and doing that as well, right? You know, for sure. And you know, when a player like no one says I want out, obviously, you know, he was made some promises when he signed this contract or even you know, he watched you know the guys that were before him. That stayed in this organization and I'm sure the same promises were met made to them about surrounding them with quality players, you know, to try and win titles and championships and put a winning atmosphere together and You know, over the last eight years, Iraqis really haven't done that for him. You know, you sign a big deal like that. You're expecting them to go out and make us some big moves, and they stay stagnant and actually didn't do anything at all. So The signals. I think to know when we're loud and clear that it was time for him to move on, and he wanted to go toe. Ah, better atmosphere, better winning Ball club and someone that's going to give him an opportunity to compete in the postseason. And that's you know, that's really all you can ask for. His players just have an opportunity, and it just wasn't being provided to him here. Jason, I want to just say thank you for joining us, man. I'm so happy that you stuck around here in Denver, man. "Away the franchise, it's a great day. I think I was waiting for the all the details of the trade with Nolan and I still don't understand what happened there well, so it's still not official because there are so many things that have to come into play. There's restructuring of his deal him deferring some money. Um, therefore not only does the Not only do it like a whole bunch of people need to MLB has to sign off on it. So does the players Association. So the players Association also needs to sign off on this steel but in the end It is Nolan Aaron Auto going to the ST Louis Cardinals, along with 50 million in cash. To help offset some of the money that he that the Cardinals would be taking on. It's It's a hot mess. It is a hot mess, and it just Mm hmm. It's kind of put my weekend in a bad way. Not gonna lie. Um yeah, and the timing of it? I mean, Friday night when it happened on Friday night, you go, man. They didn't want nobody to see the light of this. No, no, no, no. You still couldn't happen in the daytime. It happened late Friday night after our show. I just couldn't believe it. I couldn't believe that We moved him and then gave $50 million. Yeah, the $50. Million is Yeah, That's the part that you just go. You shake it like you gave Him away and $50 million. Yeah. Now, just to give you an idea. Since 2005. Hey, you know, so I take it back since 2015 Nolan Aaron NATO led all third basement in games played 835. Hits. 952 home runs with 207. Oh, P s at 9 26. Is 33 wins. Above replacement over the past six seasons, ranks third in the majors on Lee, behind Mike Trout and Mookie Betts. They're not already has 18 consecutive Gold Glove awards, making him arguably the greatest third basement in baseball history. He also has four consecutive platinum gloves. As the best defensive player in the National League. That's not just at third base. That's all defensive players. Yeah, I think that that's going to leave. That's gonna leave quite the whole I don't get it. I don't get it and I've been hearing I've been hearing multiple Eyes that I that I stay in touch with who? No baseball really well. Who have all tried to make this comparison. Two. This is what's happened, Baited. That's what the Tampa Bay Rays did a couple years ago when they let Longoria go. It was a similar type deal. And now a couple years down the line. They played for the world serious this year they were in the World Series. But they had to give the team some relief. Yeah, Tell me how that works in the division where you have the Dodgers. Uh, the current world Syriza's champion. Thomas Harding from MLB dot com is going to be joining us 3 36, and he is very respected. He does a good job of getting his information and doing due diligence and he's not going to pull any punches. With what he's going to tell us that 3 36 on his take on the steel. But I, you know, Look, Trevor story is, uh, hey, he has the opportunity to become a free agent. At the end of this season. You know, there could be that They're trying to free up some some cash for him. But then he could say that he doesn't want to be here, right? You know what? Uh, Was on Twitter this morning and I tweeted out something from one of the s I writers. It was the best line ever. Could you read it? You should read it because When I read that I was like, Oh, my gosh. It is good. The big fella. Oh, he's quoting somebody. It wasn't me who said it was, but it was so well, said. It was so well said it was from somebody at Sports Illustrated right. It was years from now. What transpired in baseball on January 29 2021 will be remembered as a Friday night heist. The Cardinals held up the aimless Rockies for the best for their best player and make Colorado Fork over $50 million to cover their tracks. That's from Matt Martel of S. I And I just I saw, you know, because I've been reading comments. I'm just trying to wait for everything to get approved and understand what we're getting back in the trade and There's still no Clarity there. Yeah, I mean, and you could talk about the Tampa Bay Rays and what they did with Longoria. But I don't understand what just happened here on and I understand that people say that he wanted out. I get that. You could have found a trade partner that could give you back some top prospects. Well, obviously, the Rockies don't yet really know what they're going to get. There is, um They're trying to predict what it is that they think they're going to get. But again, you don't really know. And, um But it's very interesting because it is something that you have been talking about over the past couple of weeks. Tirelessly. That if you've got a player who doesn't want to be part of your franchise? Do you keep him around?.

"Radio 24 hours a day, seven days a week alive all the time. Welcome back in. We appreciate you hanging out with us on the Sunday morning all the time. We have talked plenty of football. We've done a lot of fun things already this morning and calling number. You want to join us, 855 to 1 to 4 to 27. That's 855 to 1 to four CBS. But believe it or not, There's been a lot of activity going on around baseball. Over the last few days. It's like the hot stove started to pick up now that it looks like spring training is only about three weeks away, So I want to talk about the deal that everyone has been talking about, And that's the fact that Nolan Aaron Auto has left Denver. And is now going to be a Saint Louis Cardinal. So I decided I reach out to buddy, my buddy Chris Rogie, who I worked with in Chicago and then when he was in ST Louis, working Down there doing sports radio and in the afternoon drive slot, and I wanted to bring him on to talk about all of this stuff and what it means for the Cardinals. What it means for the The Rockies what it means for the NL West versus the NL Central, and he joins us now here on CBS Sports Radio. Hey, Chris. Rogie. Well, hello, warrants. Holmes. I'm so glad that you were available to talk about this. I want to know. First of all, because I felt like over the last two off seasons The Cardinals have been chasing Nolan, a Renato and my my writing That assumption? Yes, well, Okay, Well, I don't know if they've been chasing him or if everybody has just been hoping they would go get him. But the two entities have been linked at least the last couple of years, maybe three. Go back three years. Everybody's always talking about Nolan era nado. What a perfect fit. He would be. They don't have a third baseman their infield prior toe acquiring Goldschmidt. Their infield production just wasn't there, so they got to do something. This guy's a perfect fit. He doesn't want to be in Colorado anymore. Um Yeah, Why not bring him He plays good defense because they had carpenter Matt Carpenter playing third and he struggles over. I mean, he's fine at 30 is just not. He's not great, and you can tell when he Makes the throw to first like there's this ark in the throw, and sometimes it just beats the runners. Sometimes that it has trouble getting to first base. So there's always this moment where you're like, Is he gonna make this play or not? So now you got a guy who plays that position better than maybe anybody in the game with the exception of Matt Chapman. And now he's he fits perfectly into what they need. So I think the question that I've already been asked before you and I'm assuming you were gonna ask me. This is m I surprised they did it in the answer is yes, I'm I Two names have been linked. For a long time as I mentioned, but the Cardinals tend to The exception of the Goldsman acquisition. They made that happen, but they tend to fall short of it. You'll be a David price. They fell short on him, bringing him in or are you know, signing him? They fell short on bringing back Jason Heyward. They fell short on Giancarlo Stanton, even though they allegedly had a deal in place. To acquire him. He said. You know what? Miami? Um I'm not gonna let you have what you want. So I'm not gonna take that deal, so they fell short on him as well. So it just kind of felt like This Aaron auto situation was never going to materialize. So quite frankly, I'm a little surprised. They made it happen, but they did it and they should be commended for it. They should and you start looking at like O P s at their base. Over over the last decade or so. You could see why they would want an upgrade in that spot. It feels like with the Cardinals that they've been waiting a little bit for Rainmaker and Goldschmidt. I think fits that. Now, when you add the two of those guys, now that you've got your quarters together, this this Cardinals team looks really dangerous to me on a day in day out basis. Well, okay. I know the The concern is going to be and I don't think people should be worried about it. If you're a Cardinals fan, I really don't think you should worry about the ballpark factors too much. Because yes, he played in Colorado. The numbers could be inflated inflated in Colorado, but the Cardinals have had pretty good luck with guys who have played for the Rockies. And have come over to where they are and have done pretty well there to Larry Walker being one of them Matt Holliday another so there is precedent for them, acquiring players who have done well at Coors Field. Then also come to Busch Stadium, which which plays a. It's about 15th or 16th and baseball. In terms of of, you know, home runs and offense, so it doesn't play big. It doesn't play small. It's right there in the middle. Don't see any reason he can't be productive there. Maybe there's a little bit of a drop off in his production, but I still think he's going to be a pretty darn good, productive player for a while. So you've got him you got Paul Goldschmidt. Who is in his thirties, now well into his thirties and his 2019 full season first season for them was not great. At least it wasn't close to Goldschmidt standards, but it was pretty good. There was a little bit of a rebound last year. But again, that was only two months of the season. So I guess you could kind of keep an eye out for what kind of production they'll get from him. I would imagine it's still gonna be really good. It's still Paul Goldschmidt. He may not give you like a 9 50 or better O P s, but he should be productive. So you've got two guys in the middle of the order. That should drive in a ton of runs for you. If you're the Cardinals, the question is..

"Michelle Small men from one of one ESPN and ST Louis is joining us to talk about on the Goodyear hotline. No. One air nado, who has joined now in a trade the ST Louis Cardinals, the Rockies are sending a Renato and $50 million, according reports to ST Louis for a host of players I haven't actually seen. The final report is to who Michelle. I assume I mean, there's probably they're very few places in America, where they care more about their local team than they do in ST Louis. So his ST Louis excited to get one of the top 5 to 10 talents in the league on the team next year. I think you nailed it when you said that. This is one of the rare places in the country where you can talk baseball 24 73, 65 and people care as much as they do, And I think a text I got this morning from a cardinal fan really describes the way people here are feeling somebody texted me this morning and said, I woke up. I went to ESPN dot com because I needed to make sure that I wasn't dreaming that this was actually real. And in fact, it is. But it was weird here in ST Louis. For a while. Fans were almost responded with the state of the team. They thought that the Cardinals were gonna remain inactive this entire off season. In the matter of 24 hours, the team goes out. They bring back Adam Wainwright. He was the best pitcher on the team last season. And is it obviously an icon and a legacy player here in San Luis, and they get the white whale. The player that favorite Cardinal fans have been lusting after for many years, and Nolan Aaron Auto, and as you mentioned, the Rockies are kicking in $50 million, and the Cardinals didn't have to give up any of their top five prospect. It's crazy. It's almost too good to be true. San Diego's on the rise. Atlanta's on the rise, The Mets are on the rise. The Dodgers of the defending champs. What is this move do for ST Louis? What in terms of the entail hierarchy where they had right now? That's a great question. And you're right as this offseason has continued on Cardinal fans were sitting by watching the Padres making love. Oh, they got you. Jarvis must be nice. All the mess. They're going to nab Francisco and door that must be nice. And even though the Cardinals had been inactive, they still had ah, pretty clear path to winning the NL Central. They run a post season last year. They were getting players back from injury, and it seemed like Could contend for the division. But you go ahead and you add someone like millenarian auto to this team. Ah, guy who clearly is going to help you defensively. He's an eight time Gold Glove winner. He's a five time all star. You know what he can do From the offense standpoint, that's your shares of your offense even more, and then we look at it. From an offensive standpoint, you're looking at potentially Dylan Carlson, who's their up and coming superstar hitting in the two hole, Paul Goldschmidt and then No. One Erin Otto. You're looking at a team that not only can clearly win the division, but definitely King content for a World Series. It seems that they're not a goddess, where she made it clear that he wanted out of Colorado. What is the divide in baseball right now between the teams that are looking to spend big and contend, and then everybody else it looks like they're willing to give up anybody and everybody. That's interesting because I think no one ever not a look at a situation where he signed that deal with Colorado, and it's clearly a place he wanted to stay. But then the team didn't build around him. And this is someone that once Too. When he's made that very clear. The situation almost has shades of the Shawn Watson in it, where he signs the deal, and then things kind of crumble around him. And there was a lot of tension between he and the Rockies front office there, general manager Just write it, but Hold out into the public, and he made it clear if I'm not going to win here. I want to win somewhere else, and ah lot of teams, especially coming off the pandemic season. Don't have the capital. You acquire a player and a contract like millionaire in auto, and that's something that the Cardinals have gone back and forth on for many years. They had wanted a Renato even before he signed that contract, But I think as the tension continue to go on the asking price evolved over time, and it seems like the cardinal to our mid market team and who are missing that gate revenue that they heavily rely on after a pandemic season. Real life the past year and that this is potentially a deal that could pull off and they went for it. So while there are teams who can't spend big, like the Met or the Dodgers, I think there are other teams like the Padres and the Cardinals that trust their core, and they see a specific opportunity and they're going to go forward as well. Obama Cardinals fan. I'm over the moon with this transaction, But I do have to ask. What's the concern level regarding the fact that Aaron Nado before time Silver slugger is entering his age 30 season and has had numbers propped up by playing it course field. He's not gonna have the luxury of 81 games at altitude anymore. I think if any other fan base were to have that question posed at them, they might be concerned. But the Cardinals have had experience with with this before Larry Walker came from Colorado seemingly did well in ST Louis, Saving with Matt Holliday. We were concerned about the numbers coming out, of course, field in the altitude even pretty well here in San Llosa's well became one of the major leaders of this team, a cornerstone of this team and won a World Series here. Wild Molinari. Natto might be a product in some ways, of course field..

Not all of it's necessarily going to affect the White Sox their ability when the A L Central, but some of it has affected American League teams. One big move last night. I think it's still technically reported. I haven't seen the and to be honest with you. I Hoping for the show. I haven't seen it. But that doesn't mean it hasn't been official. Yet. It sounds like Nolan Aaron Auto is going to go from the Rockies to the Cardinals for a box of oranges and money, So that's good for the Cardinals. And good for them in the NL Central. Not so great for the Rockies because when you lose a player of that caliber, it's it's never good, regardless of the situation. We've been talking a lot about Jack Peterson, though, because the L A Times report by Jorge Castillo linked Jack Peterson and the White Sox, and I think it's really important to mention this. In the report. Castillo wrote yesterday. It mentions that the White Sox and Jock Peterson's interest was a while ago, right? Like some weeks before Adam Eaton even side The request from Peterson side as it seems, Was playing time. Full time kind of stuff. Peterson struggles hitting left handed pitching struggle might be putting it lightly. He did have a better 2020 hitting lefties if he was the 1 12 weighted runs created, Plus the career weighted runs created plus for him against left handed pitching sits somewhere around mid 55 mark, though 60 games. Anybody can kind of do anything on by. I'm sure that Peterson wants the full time job. In the outfield, regardless of the spot, but wants the full time job in the outfield so they can you know this is this is a pandemic economy right for baseball players, too. He's 29 years old. He takes the one year deal has a chance to get something a little larger longer, You know? Hopefully that's the path for Jack Peterson has his career is concerned, but I think the white socks and I think White Sox fans would agree. The defense that Adam Angle brings you and his ability to hit left handed pitching and.

"And the family safe and happy Thanksgiving and Christmas and I will tell you one thing. I want to stop doing the bug Black Show by way of telephone. I need to get back face to face with you. No, no doubt, Jack. There's nothing There's nothing I don't like better than You coming down to my office, whether at home or on the road, you know, chitchatting in the dugout about baseball, you have it. Yeah. When I was doing that, uh from my phone, and you know the sum of these monkey quarters that they put us in and the clubhouse that it didn't seem the same and And putting that headset on, of course, field in talking to you. That didn't seem right either. So Hopefully, this vaccine comes and comes quickly. We get it out to the world and We'll get back to doing things like we normally do in our little small part of this and baseball. Amen to that, buddy. Thanks for taking the time to visit with us all the best. We'll talk soon. All right, Jack. Same right back to you on Thanksgiving and Christmas, pal. All right, That's Rockies manager Buddy Black and it's always great to talk about. We could have done that for a very long time. But much appreciated that the skipper was able to spend a few minutes with us here this morning and I have to tell folks and biggest bodies off the air. Now Grant Smith, the producer of this show, and in a number of other activities here at the at the flagship for the Rockies, and the Broncos and everything else, and Grant said before we came on with the Rockies manager he goes But black might be the nicest guy I've interacted with in sports, and that says an awful lot grant about who he is. And why. Players like playing for him, and every time we get through with an interview, it's just it makes it even more known to me that he is the nicest guy in sports. He just He has a calmness about him. But he also knows so much about the game, which I think is so valuable as a manager that he can relay his messages without you know, becoming heated. He can get his point across to a player. Whether it be a Nolan Aaron auto or a bottom of the guy bottom of the order guy that just came up from the minors. Everyone wants to know what he has to say. And his advice for you as a player and in general as a team and Out of sports. I mean, he takes the time to ask you how you're doing and actually genuinely cares, And it's so refreshing in this day and age Well, and I mentioned it off the outset of when we were visiting with Buddy, You are playing a little bit of rare earth there. Buddy is great aficionado of the music of the sixties and seventies when he grew up into the eighties. Ah, a number of times on the boss after we have landed someplace, uh, on the road, and we're taking the bus from the airport to the hotel. Bud wanders back to the back of the bus where the K away folks and the A TNT sports Ned TV folks are sitting and we play music trivia. And but is right at the forefront of all of that. Just another reason why a guy I've known for almost 35 years now is one of my favorites to say the least in baseball. We've got more baseball talk coming up. We also have Broncos talk Zach Wilson from the Rockies going to join us after the news will have John Elway from the Broncos after the bottom of the hours, so lots to go here on the Logan and Lewis show Jack Organ, the voice of the Rockies sitting in for the gang today. We'll have Maura here on a 50 K away and everywhere on the eye. Hard up, we say big money with our progressive home and auto bundle and used the cash to take a family vacation. What? Who's.

I wanted to play the Bob Nightingale from BUSTER Onis podcast baseball tonight podcast. And then we'll talk to Ryan russillo. About hoops. But if you're a White Sox fan, here's some hope for you. Bob Nightingale today. Talking to BUSTER only about Manny Machado, absolutely hurrying, Chicago, White Sox and only Chicago White Sox. I think eventually get this thing done. It's almost like you've been about BUSTER with the Boston Red Sox reports last year JD Martinez. White Sox get seventy or awkward or sitting on it, and they can tweak some things, but I think I still think you ends up there. I'd be shocked if he's not what about the Phillies Machado. Do you think that they're in play at this point? I'm surprised because I was so much early on your the White Sox or the Phillies. Yeah. You wonder how much he wants to go to Philadelphia? I think the White Sox play the smart trained for yonder Lonzo, there's only his brother-in-law. But is that you know, is best friend light in in John. Jay who is a good friend. So I think everything was equal White Sox went out. I think you'll love to play with yonder at least one year. There you go. So there's Manny Machado. Did. He Meghan happened yet. He said at least one year does that mean about iana Alonzo? He'd like he said man, you would like to play at least one year with the under. How long has yonder under contract for just one year? Or does that mean that Machado may ultimately want a one year deal because like he said the White Sox have a seven year deal out there for them? It's to be seven years with three player option after three years three year out that. That. Seems to be unlikely possibility couple of player options in there, or do you think these days guys may want to just play one year one year for twenty five mil and then I'll be a free agent again next year. I just don't know the free agent market is going to change drastically in the favorite players, don't either. So have you got a seven year deal for good coin? Maybe that's the best. You're gonna get. I like what isn't Nolan Aaron auto and the Colorado Rockies may be revisiting a long term extension right outside the cubs and Kris Bryant, maybe that's conversation that gets restarted as well. Yeah. Ryen russillo. Does great work for ESPN checkout. His podcast does really great NBA breakdown as well. And we love having him on. It's been a while Ryan joins Waddle and Silvy on ESPN one thousand Ryan, what do you think of Otto porter on the bulls and his contract? Okay. Well, I'll give you my full Otto porter. I liked him to Georgetown. I was like, wow. This guy can handle ball. You can run your offense through a really good pass. He does a lot of things rebellious is that you like long enough to switch defensively, and you can shoot some threes. But the problem is paid over fifty million dollars for the next two years of a guy that you're gonna forget us on the for entire twelve minutes veterans, and that's the truth about all the porter is that there's any moments where like. Wait a minute. We might have something here because he is incredibly talented. He's a very well rounded player, but whatever that's switch. It is. And Silvy doesn't know it. But Waddle has it. Where you decide like tonight's my night. Switch doesn't go out enough. Neither did mine. So pleasing than it. Okay. So okay. Our conversation is started. I give it a six right now. In terms of positivity with regards to our bulls, please paint a rosy picture going forward. Tell us that there is light at the end of the tunnel at some point in. It's not a train about to just destroy us. I know. I don't I don't know. How why did I liked by Laurie? I don't take that kind of trade. Like a lot of people were looking for the deal over pelicans. We're looking for a top lottery. Like, whatever you're training. These stores hoping water the peace and a chance of accepting to replace the guy. He's got rid of four. Workout. I liked Carter. Part of it is. She killed Cocco per se. So we decided whatever space quarter a corner probably is overpriced. You told me here's everything now. Now, Doug just kind of voice like it's there. Outrageous every couple of their cities. Well, that's what twenty five other cities. I'd say no specific cargo win. The way it works. It's really hard for me. Bring anybody yet? Boston could bring good again for decades. They get torn achilles. So it's not specific cargo. But I don't. Society. Mortar all this. Because it's still free. I gotta go anywhere. What? Nobody's doing any more. Oh, I don't feel. Special enough that attracts right, then evil cycle. You gotta get star to get a star. But you don't have a star. So how do you get that one? And that's my question for you. Ryan the bulls are right now fourth in the lottery. So yeah, they still have a twelve point five percent chance to get the number one pick. But they could fall as far as number eight, and they may in it's not a real deep draft. So if they don't get a top three pick and they're not playing the free agent game. I ask you the question. How do the bulls get a star? One of those guys have occurred into that. I don't think there's going be that other stuff that he can get through. Second year. Players. Artists not going to be a star. So I think you're asking. Way to fix that. I probably would. That's why I think this is something I always save. This league is the hardest thing. It's impossible to acquire. Mattel. Guys. Like, I think those guys on this whole. Otto porter. All right. Well, this is kind of ridiculous salaries the next ten years, but whatever. You know, hopefully, more competitive. West one of those guys. Like a story. We're having a corn. I think. Stories. I've ever watched the league that you could start at where you're at. Three. Unless deputy on the roster developed into that which is really rare. I don't know how you're going to get together star there and has cargo. They are. Oh, they're by themselves. That would be really weird. Alexa. Right. Ryan on Holden. Let's say if we get a get a clearer phone line in there too. I wanna I wanna see what his thought is to on the coach. Yeah. Most bewilder doesn't that? Yeah. Y it all does it all does. I just when when they made the change from Fred, and they decided to go with Jim Boylan. I just never understood why they were in such a rush to name him anything other than the interim coach. And even now, I don't know why you wouldn't go through a coaching search and decide, hey, if at the end of the day, you feel Jim Boylan is the best guy after you've talked to other people. Through a an. Search and you decide Jim Boylan Z answer. Then I get it. But why why now ask Ryan, right? They know what do, you know about Jim Boylan that we don't or the gar impacts actually feel that he is the right guy for this job going forward. It feels very outdated. It feels a lot like baseball stuff. Whereas the other players manager you brought up a tough guy. And then if you had a tough guy you brought in like a real, right? And I think after Hoiberg they wanted to get tough. And I don't even know if that's the way more like, I think this is one of the smartest basketball people. I've ever sat and talked with like I've sat and watched games when you were into I thought I'd hang out. And I would be like man, I'm almost kind of embarrassed. I don't think I know what he's talking about right now. But I don't know if that approach works anymore, and I I it feels like I understand what you gotta do. Steffi's guys out of it. This is the point that I've made. This league is weird as much as I love this lead. You have a collection of superstars also unhappy. I don't get it. Kyri so bummed out. They Anthony Davis. To rant hate everybody. Title almost every single starting. This week is upset like sad and weird. And what's your theory? What's your theory? I think there's like this is great. I really think that it's great that players are treated. The players the enemy. There's a lot of students that I can understand being a mostly invested in the player. And then when he leaves like, look, I remember being twenty the the. Upset about these papers realize gonna make. News like, you know. Somebody left area doubt. But. There's this media push now. The value. The media say anti ownership. They actually almost think it's his political leaning down. Where is this impairment of the players? I think it's the usual. So I think the player these guys are so special. The Senate is the best athletes in the world. It's incredible. But they're just so they're so upset because switch to now. That's the only way they see the world. That's part of this week. Play hoops and don't people championships. Like, that's an awesome late for whatever reason. These guys have kind of gotten together and act. Good. And I I don't understand it. So I think the hardest thing now you hire. You also have to have a guy like Brad Stevens who has. Reggie study. And just supports every player Abidine, Nevada. It was more. Because today's players. I don't think I'm wrong on this. Like all the guys. The. Coach. That's it's unbelie it's an interesting point. I mean, I would suggest watch your own highlight film and call your accountant and have him show you all of your assets. And maybe you'll be a little bit happier. Tomorrow before we let you go. Ryan. RJ Barrett or Zion. Williamson who we take you have the number one pick. I still have more work to do on this. But. Teams teams in on. Then then the media does, you know? Like, this stuff is awesome. Don't get me wrong. And if it's even the team Stoughton because there's up there, the marketing department would actually be door down. Take him, right? And teams are trying to find ways to quit guys out there that you have to guard. I mean, that's what the Milwaukee Bucks. Golden State is done by substituting puzzles. Blooming much. Except the bad. But. I don't think that's separate as the way. It's possible. That makes sense. Yeah. Ryan great stuff as always we. Appreciate your time. Thank you. Thanks. Ryan. Yeah. You got it. Ryen russillo. It's amazing pitchers and catchers in two weeks. This can't even take anymore. They are team Lewis. Don't wanna see anyone of them end up in the NFL east get outta here. When I hear Padres. You're White Sox. That's great. But it's like this is ridiculous. Yes. Well, he did leave San Diego without a contract, but they did meet yesterday. I was telling you all the big money teams are out of it. The dodgers are out of the Yankees are out of the cubs are out of it. The the Red Sox are out of it. There's really no they're they're negotiating themselves for the most part. Yeah. Down in Washington says we're already now paying so many more guide. "And we'll if you didn't hear that sound we'll have that for you in a second. I wanted to finish off the dodger discussion, which I promised. I would let you hear what Jeff passan said. So Jeff passan basically said. That the dodgers need to kind of just dodger fans need to forget about Bryce Harper that Bryce Harper and particularly his agent, Scott Boris is not going to allow his client to take a five year deal. No matter how much the salary is. Because the dodgers also going to be unreasonable. So I know that on here. I remember having this conversation with Mason and Ireland before the holidays when that story kind of got hot gained a little traction that the dodgers may be willing to go in on Bryce, but it wouldn't be for the ten years. It would be for half. That oh, maybe five years two hundred million that he'll go with that. But that's just not comfortable for them. That's not comfortable for the dodgers either from financial standpoint. So we asked passing just kind of about the Bryce Harper situation, and he had this to say, and then gave us a nugget as to who the dodgers really are keeping their eye on. I think price ever in the Los Angeles. Dodgers are exactly where they've always been which is with a grandson canyon size has them between the two parties. The dodgers don't want to do a long term. And I mean ten year plus thirty million plus dollar year deal. That's simply not in the DNA of the club the way that it is run right now in accordingly when you have teams like the Philadelphia Phillies and authencity the Chicago White Sox that are willing to go for a longer term. You're gonna have a really difficult. What time trying to convince the player to take that shorter term deal, particularly when doing so would necessitate you bumping up the average annual value of his contract in doing that the dodgers would run afoul of the luxury tax. So it's not a match right now. Like, I know that's probably a bummer. Two dodgers fans. And I understand why. Because rice Harper's of phenomenal talent. But, you know, save save your tears for next off season when they're gonna make a run at Nolan Aaron auto. That's the guy who I think they're really interested in for a long term ten year type deal, so they haven't. So that's who he thinks the dodgers are in that. It's going to be Nolan are not oh the third baseman of the Colorado Rockies because he plays in the dirt. And that and then I followed up. Well, the dodgers goat Ted years three hundred on him. And he does believe that that's the case. So you look at our Nado the last couple of years he's been at last three seasons. Been a top five MVP candidate. Finish third last year fourth year before and fifth in two thousand sixteen. He is twenty seven years old. And they believe that he is the type of guy that is best suited to potentially help them. Now. The only thing I would caution against is. The Colorado thing right because we have to be at least a little cautious right of someone who has put up big numbers in Colorado. But when you look at it, and you look at what he's been able to do throughout his career, right? It's not as stark contrast as you think like his numbers. In Colorado, obviously are tremendous. But he's been pretty good away from home to like if you look at his numbers, they're pretty impressive at away from home. So. I think that's something certainly that you can keep an eye on. And I think the dodgers needed going on all in on somebody because this team as great as they are. And we've talked about it. And I think that they have a window of opportunity with a great young roster. Walker bueller and Cody Bellinger, and Cory Seager who's coming back and great farm system. Right. All that stuff is great. And I think that they can be the team to beat in the National League. Even though the cubs will always continue to get better. The cardinals just added Paul Goldschmidt this off season. I think that they still are kind of one step behind the American League teams. And yes, I notice short series in baseball crazy things can happen. And it's basically a fifty fifty tossup, you know, in most cases anyway because it's a short series, but they need one of those guys that can put them over the top..

Because that's the money. And if you wanna throw Charlie Blackmon, and they're very good baseball player. But who's who who immediately got worse as soon as he got paid the money, but I'm not putting any nefarious nece there. But like it didn't time out well for the Rockies the way he wouldn't get that. We'll get to that later. But like to me this the Rockies feel like a team that just goes from plan to plan to plan every like six to eight months, and like, I think the roster construction reflects that. Well, yeah, I mean going with the the Super Bowl Penn idea last winter, and then they know they pay Charlie Blackmon. But if you're if you're Nolan are an auto himself, and you're sitting there knowing that you're coming up on your your walk year. And you're watching all this money be spent an allocated to all these places like after why what what the fuck are we doing here? Like, why why are we not having conversations about what I could be making beyond. The is it this is walking. I thought it was twenty twenty. No, no, no, no. This is his final year. Oh shit. All right. Yeah. So then it's because that's who Aaron auto is. He's not concerning himself with that shit. You're not worried about that. Keep you have. I don't believe that true. When you're that type of player crops. You're not worried about it, bro. No. But you you you're if you're knowing are not, oh, you're definitely looking at the Charlie Blackmon deal being like where the fuck might pay day. No, no what you know. That's what I mean is you're not you're not you're looking at because the idea of not being able to retain Nolan air is far more present in their front offices mind than it was about Charlie black. So if you're not, oh, you're looking at that going. Okay. Well, that that just Jaren tease me X, and you keep it moving you, go take your ground balls. You go make your sandwich, and you get ready for the game Nolan or not not not sitting over there base going. Well, I better get this. If that is that is the last thing on his mind, he's looking at those numbers going. Okay. That's a baseline. That's cute. Like, he's he's enjoying that. Ian, Desmond has been worth below replacement level each of the last two years. So maybe they'll maybe they'll try him in as a long man relief pitcher at some point of the all time. Biggest swings and misses was Ian, Desmond saying no it was like a six year hundred hundred dollars. Yeah. Although to his credit he recouped what like seventy eighty percent of that. Yeah. Could've been a lot worse. We can go quickly pass this when I think on a ball Sanchez to the national any thoughts. Feelings concerns cannot believe he's still in the league. I can't believe he got eighteen or nineteen million dollars guaranteed for almost two eight three zero over twenty five starts made some adjustments with the cutter. And again, he's joining Corbin Strasbourg Shire's her go get the the original Hanley Ramirez deal. He sure was former Uber prospect back in the day. Yeah. The thing. I I guess I'm not confused. But I guess my question here is is that they essentially paid him the money that they saved in the Tanner Roark deal. So I don't know anything about the prospect that they got in the Roark deal. But like he's basically filling both his slot in the rotation and his salary slot. I'm not convinced that Sanchez is better than Tanner rower. But. Well, they just need them to kind of be okay, right fourth or fifth starter best. Yeah. We hit on lucrative the angels already..
