"With my heart by soul, paid what you might expand on. Wait, you paid Facebook. You paid for extra Philadelphia Phillies games in one 87 games. You did not pay for paid for extra baseball. The Phillies are irrelevant to that part of the equation. You didn't pay for extra bad. Look, the filling. I had to watch the White Sox all season long. My sweat equity for baseball is in. You could have, you could have turned the television off at any time. Just like, oh yeah, I could have been a bad fan. FrontRunner, my team's out winning. They were better to hate watch in the final month. Are you kidding me? I gotta get up here. Why? You're not going anywhere. Doesn't matter. I just don't like it. But I gotta watch it. Look, the Phillies, the Phillies are a nice 87 win team. And they get into the playoffs and they get hot. And that's how it goes. Now that we're in the wildcard, been in the wild cutter for a while. And honestly, they should probably put more teams in. If you've gone this far and you know you're putting in teams that are going to win somewhere between 85 and 87 games, put more teams in, go to 16, put half the league in the seasons too long. If you're worried about cheapening the World Series because, well, look at this now. You have the Astros who won over a hundred games. Look at the Dodgers 111. They didn't make it to the LCS. We had the Padres and the Phillies, neither of them won 90 games, the mets won a hundred and they gackt it away against the Padres. If you've already opened up the World Series in the playoffs, two teams that are going to win in the mid 80s, then go a little bit further. Let more teams in have more chaos more television games that you can put on the air in October and November. And that would do it. But in the end, like I said, this is an 87 win team. It's an overachieving team. It's not a team that's made to win the World Series. They're starting Noah syndergaard in game 5. Come on, man. You're the most pivotal game of your season and you're starting a guy who now throws 80 miles an hour and he's going to go three innings and you're hoping to get a clean sheet from him but instead he gives up two runs and that turned out to nearly be enough all by itself. Well, but that's just it. And now it's going to strike. It's going to strike midnight. Cinderella, it's time to go back from the ball. All those crazy things. So you just want to dismiss him because they're Philadelphia and you're a mets fan.

"Maximus. Moving people and innovation forward. Here's rob woodfork. All right, if you like compelling baseball games, we got one World Series game 5 Houston in front of Philadelphia by a score of three to two, the Phillies were trying to stage a late rally in the 8th inning, a gene Segura RBI single would trim this deficit down to one. They loaded the bases at one point, but got out of a jam there, did the Astros and Justin Verlander believe it or not, with all his World Series struggles in line for the win, Noah syndergaard giving up a home run to Jeremy Pena in the fourth inning that provided the Astros the lead seemingly to stay, but we're right now on top of the 9th inning. With Houston trying to add some insurance so they can go home with a series lead. In this World Series, now the capitals, they couldn't pull out a win in Detroit. They follow the red wings three to one, three straight losses now for the capitals, although Alex Ovechkin making some history in defeat matched Gordie Howe's all time record of 786 goals with one franchise and he does it against house former franchise. World Series game 5 we just talked about that. We are also talking about the Houston and Philly matchup in the NFL. "News time two 45. Coming up on K CBS. I'm Alyssa Karl Ross, worldwide inflation doesn't seem to be putting much of a dent in corporate profits of some companies here in the states. Let's talk a little World Series we have Joe Hughes, quesadilla sports line. Yeah, that World Series is even at two games a piece Houston winning last night 5 to nothing behind a combined no hitter from four Astros pitchers, game 5 tonight, that's gonna pitch Justin Verlander against Noah syndergaard for a 5 O three first pitch. Synagogue was traded to the Phillies after starting the season with the angels says he's excited to reward the Philadelphia after that big trade. Super exciting with the fans in the environment. I mean, this year's just been kind of a whirlwind for me. I think anybody that gets traded in the middle of the year means it's like a rental piece, kind of puts anybody out of their comfort zone. But I think it's really helped me grow as a person and as a pitcher. Well, sitting guard may be new to the Phillies, but he did spend the majority of his career in the same division while he was pitching for the New York mets. He says he's expecting the Phillies faithful to be the difference in tonight's game. Philly fans love their baseball. I mean, I was taking a morning walk, noticing all the Phillies gear, just everybody's supporting us, and everything is awesome. Just work pretty lethal and we go here at the bank, you know, it's really nice having them on our side. I don't know what's in the guard missed nearly all of last season while recovering from Tommy John surgery, something he and Verlander both have in common, but it's likely that Phillies are only gonna ask syndergaard to cover the first three innings of tonight's game he's really been limited since joining them, and they're gonna rely on their bullpen to get the rest of the outs, and NBA news, the warriors are back on the hardwood this afternoon, looking to snap their three game losing skid, then or they are in Orlando to take on the magic warriors head coach Steve curses all of the team's veterans will play tonight, but they've got a back to back as they'll play in New Orleans tomorrow, he'll make it determination after tonight's game about who will be available for that game. "Of that interview with Marley Rivera. The first ass Valdez about the questions about the sticky stuff. Sunday, the two teams traveled to Philadelphia and Noah syndergaard spoke the reporters about starting game three later today. Yeah, I feel like I can go over as long as they'll allow me to. Now is the time as ever to empty the tanks. Leave nothing left. So although as long as they'll allow me. Yeah, big question. Going in the game three and four for the Phillies is how much bulk of innings will the starting pitchers provide, cinder guard, maybe capable at this point of throwing three to four innings, ranger Suarez, maybe throwing three to four innings. So there's going to be a lot about left on the table for the bullpen. For the Astros, Lance mccullers will start dusty baker talked about that. Lance would have probably been our ace last year going into the playoffs in World Series. And so that was a very devastating day and down day when he came in and said, hey man, I think something's wrong. And I don't think I can pitch. And we still had good pitching, but Lance has been our big game guy. So I'm just glad to have him back and have him for the series. Taylor, what else you got? "Researcher at ESPN he's the head honcho on the show get up or at least that's what he told us and he is the dad of two babies and we love hearing all those stories about your little girls before we start on the podcast. I would say this, my mom sent me as you were asking the question and you're like, I don't know if other babies do, this as much as our girls do or they cry as much as this one, my mom said to me, many, many years ago that everyone wants to hear all the time that their babies are totally unique. Yes, is that true? Yes, of course it is true. The problem if we're even to call it that is that the uniqueness is just multiplied by two. So I don't know if there are more or less fussy or more or less happy or more or less poopy. I just know that there's two of everything. And so in some sense, it's obviously an amazing glorious blessing, but there are very few times during the day where neither of them are making a sound. So you're always checking in and out. So I spend most of my day, like looking at them, looking at my screen, looking at the TV watching the game, whenever whatever, but look, maybe I'm an enormous luck to all of my Philadelphia theme. So what I can definitely say is, the girls are doing a great job and they've entered this world. Yeah, and they rank one and two and everything. They're no question about that. One and two. Yep. On the top of every palette now and I'll leave that to you to decide the one and two. But there is my hour. It varies by hour. Exactly. All right, so you are a Phillies fan. You would be watching this anyway because you're a baseball fan, but you're really locked in, tell me what we can learn from the Phillies Padres national league championship series. Yeah, buster, I want to go high level on this. I think we can learn three things in particular. One, we can learn the value of ownership that for the last 5 years has been committed to winning at all costs, literally. The felice of increased their payroll by a $133 million over the last 5 years. The Padres, by 117 million, those are the two largest jumps in the national league over that time. The second thing we can learn buster is the value of a true superstar in his prime. All of this was triggered in that two week span in 2019 when many Machado and Bryce Harper both signed as free agents. Now, we know that mega contracts to historically have been bad investments, but both of those guys were 26 at the time. And so not only do you get that kind of prime production, but you also get that Tom Brady in fact, where other players want to come play with you. You recruit other players to come to those cities. They're sort of forced multipliers for lack of a better term. And the third thing we can learn is obviously the extraordinary value of the trade deadline. I mean, obviously Juan Soto was the headliner, but Josh hader has been a revelation this postseason. Fran and drury was great yesterday, even Noah syndergaard and Brandon marsh and David Robertson have been different speakers the last couple months for the Philips. I mean, we're one year removed from Eddie Rosario and Jorge soler being massive difference makers in the postseason for Atlanta. I'm obviously not telling you anything you don't already know. But the aggression by both front offices, but the Phillies and the Padres, both pay dividends, and I think go a long way in why these teams are in this position. Yeah, it's very interesting and I know Red Sox fans will sort of ring their hands and talk about Dave Nebraska and say, you know, all he does is spend resources. He's pretty good at identifying players, you know? And through the years, he seems to have a sense of the moment and for picking the right guys. A trade that really embody that for me was when he traded for Doug fister from the Seattle Mariners when he was running the tigers and Fisher turned out to be a terrific pitcher for them. He definitely seems to have a feel for fixing spots. And I like the fact that he's open minded. So when he looks at his team, he's not going to say, yeah, you know, our team is great. Our team is perfect. They went out and improved their defense. You know, during the course of the year, from where they were at the beginning of the year to now, I asked this if Eduardo will ask it to you after watching the first two games, do you have a strong sense of the Phillies or the Padres having a distinct advantage moving forward in this series? I do not. This to me is the definition of a coin flip series. I guess traditionally the fact. And so funny, that's exactly the phrase that water and I use. Corn flip. Who knows? Because for every point, there's a counterpoint. Obviously, the Phillies winning one in San Diego and theoretically means traditionally that you've stolen one. But at the same time, you feel Padres have to feel really good about their starting pitcher and game three in relation to hours. And the fact that in games four and 5, the Padres bullpen, which is deeper, will probably have a big advantage because they will be pitching on no rest where the Phillies will be decimated in that sense. So to me, you could go any number of ways.

"Ben, how are you? Doing okay, how are you? Stove. It is starting to get hot. Not even stole league, which is also hot, but yes, the hot stove leak. Pitching market is moving. Move and move in. Yeah, so we got some stuff to discuss today. So we have the Jose barrios extension with the Blue Jays for 7 years, and we have the Eduardo Rodriguez signing with Detroit for 5 years, and then we have the Noah syndergaard signing with the angels for one year for all intriguing moves in their own ways. So things had seemed to start out slowly and we wondered whether the looming CPA negotiations would slow things down. But not in every case, at least it seems like some teams and players are motivated to get deals done before that other deal gets done. Yeah, I think that we had talked about the possibility of some of the non Marquis guys going in this little bit if they found a deal that suited them, although I didn't think that it would be like the Rodriguez's and the cinder guards. I was expecting we'd have like a flurry of reliever moves in this early going. So this is a higher profile of player and a potentially more impactful profile of player just by ritual starters instead of relievers than I was expecting. But it's nice to have a little transaction news to Toyota. So yeah for what might be a long couple of months. Numbers, 13 and 15 on Ben Clemens's fan graphs. 50 free agents list. So let's talk about Rodriguez for a minute 'cause this is one of my favorite off season things when a team to use an old effectively wild reference turns the corner. You know, when you exit the rebuild and you signal that you are ready to compete by making some big free agent splash and Rodriguez on his own may not constitute a big free agent splash it sounds like the tigers are continuing to be in the hunt for other top players. They've been linked to Carlos Correa via rumors, but this is a pretty significant signing and we talked about it last season that the tigers had turned the corner without everyone noticing necessarily, but they started off so slowly with an 8 19 record in April. And not that April doesn't count or that you can toss it out entirely, but they were a winning team from that point forward. They trailed only the White Sox in record among AL central teams after April. So again, like they seem to have the makings of a competitive team already. And now it seems like they are ready to spend. Maybe not to make ilitch levels, but at least to Chris ellich levels, I guess we'll figure out what those levels are. But this is technically a 5 year $77 million deal. There are some incentives there that could bring it up to 80. And there's an opt out after two years. So if things go well, then Rodriguez could test the market again when he's still 30 because he has only 28 now, or maybe he'll just be with the tigers for the long haul, but either way it's one of the things that they need it because they have this young exciting rotation with scuba and mice and Manning and those guys all showed promise at various points. But they needed some innings, they needed someone dependable to round out the rotation and Rodriguez has had his issues in his ups and downs, but he's coming off a good year at least if you dig a little deeper than the surface. That's because I'm sure that there are some tigers fans who are looking at this and thinking what we got a guy with a 4.74 ERA and I'm supposed to be excited about that. But the peripherals are strong. Yeah, he had a career best I believe in strikeouts and a career low walk rate and I think that the tigers infield does not like especially Sterling their defense generally is kind of below average, but it's not as below average as Boston's was this year. Good God, Boston. So you might expect that some things will kind of rebound for him. If things shake out well, he had, he had just like a ridiculously high bab allowed, I think when Ben wrote about it, it was second worst in the majors. And so yeah, 360 six. Yeah, and so and he did that despite having fairly normal contact quality. It wasn't like he was giving up a ton of hard hits or anything like that. His hard hit rate was below average. So I think that, you know, when you put him in front of a marginally better defense, and you know, one that could get say better if Carlos crayons part of it. And maybe a better park too than the old lefty and Fenway situation. Absolutely. And so I think that there are a number of things here that could move even his surface level stats in a good direction in a hurry and you know, when you look at those zips projections for him, they're pretty optimistic. And like you said, if things go well, he has the option to test the market again, but if things go well, maybe he looks around and was like, I am part of a resurgent Detroit tigers team and the skin is stay put and help them win some playoff games. So I really like this move for them. I think like you said, they have these young, starters, I think, having a guy who is reliable, who ended up being very durable this year despite missing an entire season because of heart concerns..

"They were not giving away pitches, and that is, like, it sounds so simple, like, of course, but teams generally don't work like that. There's always this guy. Gosh, we can't not play Cody Bellinger because he's a former MVP. He's so talented. What are we going to do? We just have to keep running him out there and having him be one of the worst players in baseball. Even the good teams have those kind of roster spots that they don't know what to do with. A player who's making $20 million that they don't want to cut, but they can't quite figure out yet. The Giants just didn't have that this year. They're guys that maybe could have been like that like Brandon Crawford Evan Longoria were really productive and levers if they were iffy. They were swapped out with relievers who weren't, if he. And it was just a very ludicrously deep roster in so many respects. So you have this really deep roster, and I think that one of the things, and they were good at this prior to 2021, it didn't hit in quite the same way that it did in this season. But this team was very adept at trying out guys, right? You know, they brought in dudes who either were blocked in their previous organization or hadn't quite performed like expected to see if they could tweak them a little bit and then see if they did better, and they had a number of those guys on the roster this year. And so you get the impression that San Francisco can manufacture depth, even if they didn't necessarily have it going into the off season, you know, last November, but they are going to potentially lose some of their important pieces from this year. So Kevin gausman is a fridge, and Chris Bryant Brandon bell, these little fanny Alex wood, Donovan solano, Lilith goes on from there. So I'm curious what your expectations are in terms of how they are going to approach the off season. Do you expect any of those guys to return? Do you think that they will be in the market for other free agents? Will they just keep trying to find the next lemont way junior? What do you anticipate their approach to this off season is going to be? I do think that branded bet will be back. You know, there's always a chance that some teams gonna throw, I don't know four years 5 years out of some goofy. Seems unlikely given that he's 34. Yeah, no, you can't dismiss the possibility that another team is going to go goofy, but assuming everyone's rational here, I do expect ran about to be back that he fits on a shorter term deal, which is what the franchise would prefer. You know, he's been around. He fits the philosophy. I expect him to be back. Chris Bryant a little bit more of a wildcard because he's got Boris's agent, his market's going to develop slowly in which there's going to be the CBA that messes with it. Gaussian, I think has a pretty good shot of coming back. Donovan solano almost zero chance because tyro Estrada basically does everything he does, but better. So it's going to be an off season where they will have money to spend. They don't have a lot of guaranteed money even after extending branding Crawford even if they extend the qualifying offer to belt and pick up posey's option and all these kind of high priced moves. They'll still have like a 100 million to spend or something like that. So they'll get goofy, I think with some pitchers who are dented cans, but also have a track record. I'm not sure Justin Verlander, but Noah syndergaard, I think would make a lot of sense for them in a lot of ways. A guy like Max Scherzer, who even though he's got an extra month in his arm, he wouldn't require a three year deal. So they'll be able to play around. I do think that they'll give a longer term offer at least at Osman, and maybe to Brian. But they got money to spend, they'll figure it out, I think. Yeah, I should say. Built will be 34 next season. He's not yet 34. He is going into his age 34 season. Bryant seems like he is just really meshed well with the organization and the fans there. I would not be surprised to see him come back. Like he is a good organizational fit, and they seem to really like him. Absolutely. And it seemed a little bit more obvious like after they got him and two weeks in, it's like, oh my gosh, this guy is perfect for the he kind of scuffled in September both offensively in defensively. But I think if the Giants are going to give out a 9 figure contract to a free agent, it's going to be someone who gives them options, not just in 2022 but in 2025. And Bryant is as close to that as you're probably going to find on the open market. I could see the Giants being skeptical of course Seeger. You have Corey Seager, and then he's a shortstop and then maybe later in the contract to use a second baseman and then maybe even further down the road as a first baseman. You can see that progression going a certain way, whereas Bryant, yeah, he's third base he's first base he's, center field, he's left field, he's a floor wax he's a dessert topping, like, you know, all of that, he's just very, very versatile in a way that allows the Giants to mix and match around him, which is what they value. They value that flexibility. Yeah, that makes sense. They'll pick up posey's option, right? You know, they will, if they don't work on an extension, like that might be, you know, because the option I don't remember exactly, but it's close to 20 million. It's 22, yeah. Yeah, so they might say, okay, let's do two for 36 for sure. But, you know, Buster Posey's got new twins, like at the home, he's got older, twins at home like he has four kids, and lousy with twins..

"Even though that's one of your favorite things but i'm telling you the last three years i'm completely on board three years ago. The red sox beat the the orioles by sixty one games in the division and really ever since then the gap between the best teams in the worst teams is now larger. Than i can ever remember. It's almost like it's an upset now. When a when a really bad team beats a really good team and since the trade deadline we have a lot of really bad teams out there. Buster since the trade deadline we've had twenty three games that have been decided by ten or more runs now. It's not all the time that unloaded but that's way too many blowout games and this is part of the problem is that the phillies for the mets leased are much lousy teams and that's gonna help them and the mets are playing a lot of good teams and that's going to hurt them again. I used to say hey. This is baseball. Any bad team could beat a good team on any day. Yes that's still kind of exists but not like it used to and now the gap is so large. That the mets the mets play the sunday night game and other owners san francisco to play that team. That's that's a really difficult ron. And they're still not dumb but the dodgers yet so it's it's a really tough spot the note that we got overnight from espn stats and information. The mets are in the midst of thirteen straight games against the dodgers and giants according to the elias sports bureau. The the first team to play thirteen straight games against teams with a six hundred win percentage or better at least one hundred games into the season. Nineteen eighty blue jays. Toronto in that stretch when four nine against the yankees and the orioles. So the mets her are definitely swimming upstream and ten. They're doing it without jacob degrom. I'll i've said a thousand times and i'll say it at thousand one time. The teams are not obligated. The players not obligated tells us exactly what's wrong with them. We are not obligated to believe what they tell us. I would say from the outside looking in that when you look at the tea leaves at how he's being handled. Where the mets Louis rojo's announces on friday. That you know what is going to be. Shut down for two more weeks. He's not even picking up a baseball He at the soonest would begin to throw a baseball at the end of august. I think you would agree with me. That means at most he would be potentially a relief role at the very end of the regular season or in the postseason. There's not enough time for him to build up innings and on top of that tim. It has all the earmarks all the information. We're getting elbow issue. Forearm discomfort going out to see dr neal l. trash you know noted surgeon. It has the earmarks of somebody who is closing off decision whether or not to happen elbow procedure. What do you think yeah. I'm really worried. For jacob degrom and the mets sake Because this doesn't sound good and this doesn't look good and it's just another reminder buster. A we were we were rightfully making comparing this guy. Bob gibson earlier this season and we should have because that first half was a joke. Nobody's ever done anything quite like. He was doing that the combination of precision and power. But it just reminds you again. How long a season last option through three hundred and four innings and nine hundred sixty eight jacob degrom ninety. Get two hundred this year be probably because of his issues and i. I think it really hurts the game but mostly it hurts the mets because that guy knee goes out there changes the entire rotation changes entire week. And i don't like the looks of this. That if he comes back at all this year you gotta think logically. It's going to be limited role. You agree with me that when you look at some of the details they were hearing a bad that it has all the earmarks. Somebody facing a major elbow issue while busters shut down as a bad word Elbow is a bad word. Forearm is a bad word. You put all these together and yeah. I think that's where you're headed but let's let's just hope for his sake for the team sake. That's not the case. But i'm not encouraged for the mets. So speaking of the mets as you mentioned they plan san francisco later today. noah syndergaard in a longtime pitcher for them a senate post on instagram over the weekend where he was reflecting some anger that the mets game last night was placed on sunday night baseball in the day before the mets were to begin a series out in san francisco. That game last night was in new york at city field What he sent out hey. Mlb espn who's dumb. Effing idea was to change sunday's game to a night game when we're traveling to the west coast after won't get in until monday morning. Take on the first place. Giants later that evening brilliant The one thing i would say and i've had this conversation with players before tim if if if i talked to know i'd say hey noah it's not mlb and espn it's also the union that represents you like they sign on for that and part of the compensation package that these players all the players benefit from is based on the television rights. And so every time we see complaint like this you feel like on you know what call tony clark. We gotta see negotiation coming up if the players see a problem with it that to me needs to be more productive than planning on social media. Yeah look this is a difficult spot. We already talked about it. You gotta play a team like that on sunday night and fly across country not easy. But you're right. it's sunday night games. This is part of the landscape in. You have to deal with it and it's not gonna be easy but complaining about it doesn't do much good when it's all about the money anyway. In a lot of that money goes to the players so tricky spot but and i understand the frustration. But you're not getting anywhere with a complaint. Like.

I well. I don't mean to talk sports One thing. I don't understand though. And i saw his answer this morning. I'm about to get through it if you want me. Are you talking about cresco hitting i. It's six nothing right and you wanna tell me well. We only had four benjamin. It's six nothing the game's about to be lost. If it's not lost already and you put them up in that spot to do what to bunt. What are you like. Roh haas i do. But that's stupid. Yeah so you hit for himself with one out in the second. And then he's lifted from the game and the top of the third. He was asked about that. After that is i don't know man. I'm really not told me done. And that's what i just. I just follow. That louis throw has basically said as jerry alluded to not enough guys to burn. A pinch hitter that early. It was gonna come out of the game. This were to highly stressful innings. We weren't gonna use a pinch at the moment. We only had four guys in the bench. His point was you blunt you give that to bring the nimmo who's been one of their better hitters with runners on but like jerry. Yeah so it's six zip then want to use the pinch-hitter there in the second. But he ended up using them in the sixth and a nine nine to game and then the eighth when it was twelve four ridiculous. Yeah a little curious. It definitely did not play out the way. I'm sure he intended anyway. The mets get swept has start off this thirteen game. Stretch with the dodgers and the giants. Now they go out to san francisco. You got richhill. Kevin gosper tonight in the opener. Nine forty five. I'm sure you guys brought it up. I think in the first hour about syndergaards post on his instagram search. And i understand that. It's a frustrating thing for the mets. I just don't understand. Why noah syndergaard is the person who has lost shimon about things you're not. You're not even a baseball player you haven't played in. I don't remember. I couldn't even tell you the last time i saw guy i'm talking. It's like you if. Sandy alderson or steve cohen zach. Scott wants to reach out. The commissioner's office. Wherever makes the schedule and complain about it. The tv broadcast partners and fine. But noah syndergaard you're the mouthpiece dot up with. Nobody wants to hear from you. Nobody wanted to see you. On seth meyers. Nobody wants to hear thoughts on the schedule. You're not playing you haven't played. It doesn't mean a damn thing that you or you've been as off for a year and a half rehab is been there at city field of course shirtless the other day. I saw him with no socks or shoes on the outfield. You're not the one grinding it out. These guys are yeah just me. It looked terrible on the trip because he was the one that that complained. That makes it even worse if he's not right right. It's not like he has to do anything anyway. You know when he gets out there what does he do. He wakes up when he wants to wake up. He puts his feet in the grass. Shirt off yeah. Works on the ten which is not not great which is not great. It's not. I mean maybe uses a lot of sun. I would hope a lot of sunscreen. Protect the fair skin right and he doesn't like to wear a shirt so you would think. A lot of sunscreen is an order. Maybe not in san francisco on the bay where it's a little chilly. Shorts vice said to you. The coldest winter was the summer. I spent in san francisco. And you know what that meant. Yeah that's i've heard that a million times. Chris i've yeah well it's chilly there. Sure no no. No i never heard the phrase before. I didn't know if it was me. Oh no no. I never heard that phrase. He just went. Oh yeah it's chilly. No but i can make sense when he says. It never heard stan wiser. You never heard the phrase though Maybe not off the top of my head now. One hundred percents. I'm not. I'm doesn't surprise me. It is a phrase. How's that but he hasn't heard different. Okay which is true. Shores heard the phrase. Eddie might have given the free. I actually lived. I was out there in august either by sweatshirt out there in august. We're in august august but the phrases you make sense it doesn't get too like negative fifteen thirty degrees just Yeah yeah it doesn't snow. Yeah it's not zero degrees. Audrey california extremely nice and it could be fifty degrees. Yeah summer yeah. Just an exaggeration to point out how cold it is therefore unseasonably cool. It is in san francisco. There you go ever. Now i have. Okay don't care for it shocker. fernando totti's junior back from the i l. for the padres first career start in right field. He goes four. Five couple homers. Four rb is for the pods. Thirty three homers now seventy four. Rbi's is on the season despite missing thirty two games already this season. I you guys mentioned. Also i think jared jerry talking about tom's river little league in the world series right so they will play thursday five o'clock against nebraska and it is carson frazier. Which is todd's nephew hit in the game. That got them and they didn't actually win. The regional but lost that pennsylvania international teams the regional finalists automatically get in so they will debut at williamsport coming up on thursday evening each the morning show with boomer esiason in gregg giannotti boomer and geo with rollers tax vestiges at trevor bauer released. Yeah in the break. Iran them all clearly. That is a woman who was obsessed with trevor bauer clearly. A tough mental place in her life doesn't mean that what she's saying is false but there's no doubt that that text messages those text messages paint a picture of someone who was obsessed with trevor bauer and was driving to meet him when he didn't want to see her was saying. I'm going to sleep in my car. i need to. You need to let me in. And then he ended up getting her a hotel at least a story that those text messages say is that that she certainly was very very attached and very obsessed but that doesn't completely take away any credibility from any sort of accusations that she has no. What there. There's no doubt that you see someone who needs needs some help it. Just it's You don't know what to believe and who to believe. I mean without proof it's It is a weird crazy story real and his future looks. I don't wanna say over. But my god can you see him pitching again anytime soon. No and i don't think i'll ever pitch again for the dodgers in a maybe for another team d. year down the road but no i don't think he's going to put dodgers uniform on again. Yeah me neither all right. So we'll get to the bottom of this whole san francisco cold warm thing there. Jerry shirley in poughkeepsie joins us. What's going on shirley. hi well. i'm actually a native of california santa. just go right. It is cold in the summer and mark twain supposedly. It's one who said that when he was he was out there for the gold rush. The coldest winter i ever spent with the summer in san francisco and then he went to sacramento which was about one hundred and eight degrees but i was at candlestick park once which by the way the worst weather in the city is there and a guy and it was happened to be a hot day. It was about ninety degrees. It was miserable and somebody's walking along the stands going. Who's her off the air conditioning. Because it's the fog you know. Without in the the city surrounded on three sides by water so the hot air from the inland hits the bay and the ocean and creates this cold fog with not from either. The whole san francisco thing. Not for you know. It's a cool city. And everything. But i mean the weather doesn't seem great knowsley in for the super bowl. Seemed like things were burbs are. Yeah it's just in the city because it's an unusual way it sticks out in the in the water like that but yeah.

"The injury hits. Just keep on coming for the mets noah. Syndergaard has been shut down for at least six weeks. The quote from luis rojas manager the sits big counting on being a month from now. This happening is tough. We pray he can pitch for us this year. I'm going to be talking with carl. Why i kinda wonder if that's even a possibility. And i'll explain why this is going to get really really complicated for all involved now. The mets have been ravaged by all these injuries lately but they had a great day on thursday. This was in game one first-pitch peraza to high drive deep to left top back near the wall. That bom jose peraza gets the mets won on their road. Maybe five today. A park homer off herrmann. Mark has and the mets take one. Nothing lead that from wcbs and one. Ron was all that marcus. Stroman and edwin d as needed strowman was outstanding. Played his position. Great so they won game one and they won game two sweeping the doubleheader giving them at some momentum this weekend series they have against the atlanta braves at citi field on sunday night this weekend. "Like the The adrenaline junkie that like the adrenaline chasers like sky diving. You know what? When you hang up when you hang them up, you could jump over whatever mountain you want. I don't think it's on the reasonable. I think it's fairly inbounds. I agree it is. It is dangerous and That is, the last thing they need is cooperate for him or another player. That's of that value to their team to go down playing a different sport. Absolutely not unreasonable at a bounce. Are you in or are you all right? The Mets lead the NL East despite being only two games above the break even point they got a big blow to their world Series sold. Yes, they don't extend Noah Syndergaard is coming back from Tommy John surgery, was trying to felt some pain in his elbow during rehab. Now the team's gonna shut it down for at least another six weeks. I think what I've read, you know, people, maybe more connected to the Mets. Forget about more like two months. No structural damage. But skipper Louise RoHaas discussed the news after word got out the stuff, you know, but he's good to hear that there's no structural damage in the UCL. On that This worked with the six week without throwing and We pray that he can pitch for us this year. Okay, So here's the question Take. The Mets do need Syndergaard healthy and on the mound if they want to win the world serious this year. I mean, that's a presumptive question, because they mean I don't think they can win the World Series this year. They're one of the few teams is leading baseball right now. I think the only team It's leading in division of baseball that has a negative run differential because you know you always look at this my negative 11 minus 11 when teams like and on the Padres or plus 80 going, I mean, and so I guess the answer's in bounds, but they're not winning the World Series this year. Listen, I like the Mets more than you do. Keep in mind. They haven't had to Graham. He just came back the other 90 through you through Jan.

"Had high in the air left-center pretty keep tapping going back way back. He can't get it. It is a top wall. Comes back into play around. Third digging for the plate as smith and he will score headfirst as the throw is up. The third base line going to second at stopping their pounding. His chest once is tomas. Nino didn't miss a home run by more than a hair if he missed it at all as a great call by how in the open and it turns out. It was a home run. That was how he rose. Jerry it sure was not sits out there. Really good call and so They do win three one that turned out to be a two run homer for neto. The go ahead home. Run james mcandrew drive in a run early with a groundout. As for degrom couple of things here he pitches five innings. Three hit ball nine strikeouts gave the solo homerun run whatever he also really had a double i know he got thrown out on a review but He's doing really great things manage louise. Ross i mean he was right again. both on the mound and Also as a hitter right. and that's base ron. I know the right. Everyone does it. But then my wife donna. Right i said to al before you know when you're watching him. You know gary and keith. They're there before he came up for his first at bat. In like no way they're gonna let them swing right now. Not only swing. He's basically got a double in the game and his second at bat so he was really good. Here is degrom the key to success. Take it one pitch at a time. One out at a time and and go from there and try to be in every game. You're welcome. thank you terry. funny in terms of his health if felt good You know working through a couple of mechanical adjustments and felt like. I was able to repeat my delivery quite a bit tonight now. He gets the no decision because again need a home comes in the six. Miguel castro who dominated al's favorite pitcher four strikeouts over to. He's been he's been really season. I agree The mets did acquired. Outfielder billy mckinney from the brewers Also you've noticed to get hurt. The price starting. I bet you play tonight. I'm sure that he will not be surprised if he can run his face into the wall. Noah syndergaard did leave a rehab start with a sore elbow. Not sure of the details there. And then tonight. You've got marcus. Stroman against her mon- marquez. Louis ross with carmen roberts on the fan at five thirty as for the yankees. I really thought that they were going to blast stephen mats that was not the case instead. The blue jays blasted away themselves as swung on drilled to rate centerfield and deepen. That ball is.

"You don't need if you look if you need Harrison baiter to fill your outfield and testing here is your last day on your bench. Yeah, you're dropping custom. Your redraft leak. Sorry you are. You're right, but not camera, maybe about a third in his debut the season, But that was the camera may have been had the batting 103 and the miners, they decided. I understand. You have to bring up you have to trade for and bring up camera May even your bottom third. Head Don Smith. That's really good lineup roster. Rua Neutering there they I mean, they were in that much of a pinch and center field that's never had natural center fielders, and they were tired of using color Adam seventh Adam seventh, even let the ER stirred. No, come on, you No man against the writing in his first game. I think I understand. Peter Lanza was that you didn't want to mess with the rest of the lineup, batting third, but Come on. What's going on? Even his name? John ist just can't even remember John something. It's like, Put two names together. It's where the Kyle Eric comes from. All right. What's the next question? Two first names? Chip wants to know what you think about Noah Syndergaard. He sees that he's starting a rehab assignment. Surely want to know if you think there's any sort of value he'll hold in 2021. Good luck, man. I can't I mean, it's not just I'm not a hater. This isn't about Philly's versus Mets, but like coming back from Tommy, John and I had trouble staying healthy. And before that, like, what's the best case scenario 15 starts. It may be good ones, but 15 starts would be my like over under and he's not pitching till July, right? I don't know. I met Sneed and maybe they're gonna move off soon. You could you could start in June at some point, but I don't know. I don't really want any part of it. Personally, I gotta have Chris sale. Yeah, sort of. Why? I did that in the preseason. You remember? I said, I go sail Severina Syndergaard of those three guys. I think they all come eligible on May 30th that after Look based on the 60 day I am I might go Syndergaard over Submarino. Now you have it back to her, all right. I really, honestly I don't care. I'm picking the guy based on where I think the top shelf numbers are gonna be. It doesn't matter to me like when these three are coming back. I think sale could recapture stuff. The best of those three. I think, Severina. It's gonna be an all in or all out when he comes back, and I'll take the old in possibilities. I think Syndergaard's might be a slow progression. Okay. It's just a guest that started like your number like you start projection. It's on and you're gonna wait for that, Like 15 starts, four wins. You're a 3 70. I don't know about. I'm not going to be great, but maybe he's great for six weeks at the end. I don't know. Widespread offers the fastest and easiest way to register in Illinois. "Jacob. degrom the mets we all know Jacob degrom, but he was crash from his start on Friday. With a against the phillies with some next stiffness, he'll start his planning on starting against the marlins Miami and you know. I'm surprised actually pitching to be completely honest because. The season is pretty much I. Mean I guess that he would be. He would basically just be doing it so he could get paid at this point, but I mean he would get his prorated salary regardless if he was playing or not at the mets are nine and fourteen therefore games out of the. Four Games out of the East lead they've already lost one two of their best players with marcus, stroman and Noah syndergaard. Know. Why he would even play. It doesn't look like the mets are really going to be doing anything in the division. So. I mean. A. Whole I'll just come back through another game and then and then pretty much just opt out of the season if I were him but. You know he's he's out there playing and he's doing a great job this season and you know you gotta come you got you give him his props for endlessly fighting for the New York mets even then they haven't. You know they've been trying to hold onto whatever relevancy they've had since the I think it was Twenty Sixteen World Series, Twenty Fifteen, twenty, six world series when they lost to the Kansas city royals but alongside him another one in another player from the Bronx went down this weekend. Dj Lemay Hugh. Aaron Boone said the digital mayhew is going to be out for about two to three weeks. He was placed on the ten day de L. With thumbs strain. Suffered it just on a swing in the fourth innings. Nathan you've all the which is not. Not a good sign for the New York Yankees but I mean they're they brought up Miguel and do hard their defense is going to go down but their offense will stay. Will stay you know. Fairly even Keel for the most part I would say they would go down a little bit because Dj here's a four hundred hater and Miguel Angel Harz in anything like that. But I think M Miguel and do Haro. You'll love the at a little bit more power to the lineup. And? They'll lose a little bit of the base but I mean they're they're crews in right now. So I mean it's not going to hurt the Yankees a little too much.
