"And also at the same time on the heels of the Major League Baseball trade deadline. We got plenty of people who should find success in Los Angeles. But I think the stuff um obviously is elite that compete. You can just watch him pitch even a casual, thank and watch him pitch and see how much that stands out just how much he wants to win and The way he battles on the mound, pitch the pitch and you're always seems to put his team in the best position to win games, which is what this is all about. There is one of the best pitchers of Our generation is tested in October and and it's very hungry to win another championship. That was Andrew Friedman. He was talking about Max Scherzer. And that was courtesy of SportsNet Los Angeles. Here's the thing about going to l. A. It's not just Max Scherzer. Going to Los Angeles. It's also trade Turner going to Los Angeles. It's going and joining a roster that right now has a payroll of 275. Million. Dollars. The New York Yankees payroll doesn't even eclipse 200 in 10. Their number two. The Los Angeles Dodgers are outspending everybody by approximately 60 to $65 million just to secure another World Series championship. And that's not all that we got today. With the trade dot line. We've seen some major moves and I'll get back to the Dodgers in a second. You think about the National League? You think about the team with the third highest payroll they were able to bring in Javi Baez from the Chicago Cubs, and we'll talk about the Cubs. Because the Cubs are just like, Yeah, we ain't winning nothin. We won our World series. Now it's Tom that just sell everybody off. Javi Baez, two time All Star 22 home runs 65 R B I has this season. The Mets, trying to maintain a lead in the National League East about three and four games above not only the Philadelphia Phillies but also the Atlanta Braves. And unfortunately now you hear that? Jacob deGrom. Is going to be out until September. With his forearm strain. You have the Mets. They could utilize more offense, and I mean the Mets could certainly at this point, utilize more pitching Carlos Carrasco. Pitching his first game for the New York Mets tonight. Are they contenders Stand Sure as hell are not contenders unless Jacob diagram shows up And at this point, you better hope Jacob deGrom can get through September and be what he was prior to his injury and maybe help you out in October. Have your bias. Imagine him Francis Colon door. And the same infield. That's what the New York Mets are hoping for. But at the same time The New York Mets. You better hope that all of those pitching arms and then even Noah Syndergaard you better hope that those arms work Think about the Chicago White Sox. Picking up Craig Kimbrel from the Chicago Cubs. I mean, everybody's leaving, including bias. Kimbrel. This man has an E R. A Of point. Four. Nine. And I don't think Kimbrel is using the sticky stuff. I just think he's a bad dude. To go along with that 0.49 e R. A. He has 23. Saves. The White Sox there, eight games above Cleveland. They don't necessarily have to worry about them. But damn it if you have Kimbrel You might as well ensure yourself will win at the end of the game. Blue Jays for all of the offense that they have in the world. They picked up burials from the Twins. San Francisco. Speaking of the Cubs, they picked up Chris Bryant from the Cubs. They lead the National League West. I don't know how long that will last. Damn it! The Dodgers are just ready to roll. The Red Sox picking up Carl Schwab, er From Washington. In the New York Yankees. I think the Dodgers have just said no will be the team that outspends everybody. Because the New York Yankees Joey Gallo. Rizzo from the Cubs as well. Who, by the way, hit a home run tonight. Guess the Yankees are just looking to be the Bronx Bombers again. They have an offense right now. And I don't know if you necessarily want to see Giancarlo Stanton in the outfield, but they have an offense. They have a line up. Left field center field right field. We're talking about 66. Six. Seven in 65. These are Giants. The Yankees are looking to bludgeoned. What do the Yankees have? The pitching that you need to the New York Yankees have enough pitching to go out and get the job done. I don't think so. They need to hope for a miracle between Cole, who hasn't been pitching all that? Well. He was just abused. Corey Kluiber, potentially coming back. Louise Severina, No stepping back into the the rotation. They got a whole lot to look forward to. And then, unfortunately for the Padres, they were able to pick up Fraser from the pirates. But Man. They were almost teased. Which shares her Joining them and maybe putting them over the hump in the National League West, where things are extremely tight between the Dodgers and also the Giants, who I told you Picked up Chris Bryant. I can't remember in recent memory, the last time that we've seen so many moves, I can't remember the last time that we've seen so many trades. You think about the Atlanta Braves? I mean, I don't think they're winning a World Series this year. But the Atlanta Braves, they went out and said, Let's bring back Adam Duvall. Let's bring back Rosario, who played in an American League central for both the Indians and also the Minnesota We got teams who don't have a chance to win, who was still scrapping things together. Come on. The Brewers picking up Escobar. They need offense. They're they're pitching is good, but their offense can use some help. Damn it. We had 60 games of a baseball season last year. Is that even a baseball season? Can I consider 60 games a season? Or is that just a sneeze? I sneeze. I wipe my nose. I look up and it's done. And we know what happened last year after that sneeze. The Dodgers won We know what happened last year after all of the fighting that Major league baseball dead. The Dodgers won And guess what might happen this year. After the Major League baseball trade deadline a few hours ago. It looks like the Dodgers will win again. This is absolutely Ridiculous. You think about a rotation? And yes, they need to be actually healthy. This needs to be a rotation that is healthy. Clayton Kershaw needs to come back healthy. He has time..

Reeling Rockies Swept in Doubleheader by Mets

"The injury hits. Just keep on coming for the mets noah. Syndergaard has been shut down for at least six weeks. The quote from luis rojas manager the sits big counting on being a month from now. This happening is tough. We pray he can pitch for us this year. I'm going to be talking with carl. Why i kinda wonder if that's even a possibility. And i'll explain why this is going to get really really complicated for all involved now. The mets have been ravaged by all these injuries lately but they had a great day on thursday. This was in game one first-pitch peraza to high drive deep to left top back near the wall. That bom jose peraza gets the mets won on their road. Maybe five today. A park homer off herrmann. Mark has and the mets take one. Nothing lead that from wcbs and one. Ron was all that marcus. Stroman and edwin d as needed strowman was outstanding. Played his position. Great so they won game one and they won game two sweeping the doubleheader giving them at some momentum this weekend series they have against the atlanta braves at citi field on sunday night this weekend. New York Mets' DeGrom and Yankees' LeMahieu Both Placed on Injured List

"Jacob. degrom the mets we all know Jacob degrom, but he was crash from his start on Friday. With a against the phillies with some next stiffness, he'll start his planning on starting against the marlins Miami and you know. I'm surprised actually pitching to be completely honest because. The season is pretty much I. Mean I guess that he would be. He would basically just be doing it so he could get paid at this point, but I mean he would get his prorated salary regardless if he was playing or not at the mets are nine and fourteen therefore games out of the. Four Games out of the East lead they've already lost one two of their best players with marcus, stroman and Noah syndergaard. Know. Why he would even play. It doesn't look like the mets are really going to be doing anything in the division. So. I mean. A. Whole I'll just come back through another game and then and then pretty much just opt out of the season if I were him but. You know he's he's out there playing and he's doing a great job this season and you know you gotta come you got you give him his props for endlessly fighting for the New York mets even then they haven't. You know they've been trying to hold onto whatever relevancy they've had since the I think it was Twenty Sixteen World Series, Twenty Fifteen, twenty, six world series when they lost to the Kansas city royals but alongside him another one in another player from the Bronx went down this weekend. Dj Lemay Hugh. Aaron Boone said the digital mayhew is going to be out for about two to three weeks. He was placed on the ten day de L. With thumbs strain. Suffered it just on a swing in the fourth innings. Nathan you've all the which is not. Not a good sign for the New York Yankees but I mean they're they brought up Miguel and do hard their defense is going to go down but their offense will stay. Will stay you know. Fairly even Keel for the most part I would say they would go down a little bit because Dj here's a four hundred hater and Miguel Angel Harz in anything like that. But I think M Miguel and do Haro. You'll love the at a little bit more power to the lineup. And? They'll lose a little bit of the base but I mean they're they're crews in right now. So I mean it's not going to hurt the Yankees a little too much.

Pants on Fire: Cheerleading

"Welcome to pants on. Fire that game show where kids choose between the cheerful and spirited truth and the bad sportsmanship of lies. I'm your host Deborah Gold. Cnn in the studio today is our sound effects about Lisa which stands for live in-studio audience too but not too but that is the question. Pardon me I poured in the lady. Thank you but what is it that you are doing? I'm practicing my lines. I have an audition tomorrow for the robot. Regional Theater production of Hamlet. How that's exciting to thrilling. Indeed but to be honest I am nervous. Oh I really want to be in this play and I've been setting all the lines for weeks. I think you're going to be great and remember this above all to thine own self be true. What is that some sort of fortune cookies saying? No it's a line from no forget it. Why don't you take your mind off your audition and tell us how our game works Shaw Melody? Every ways we bring onto grownups. One is an expert the other ally and it's the job of a human to help us figure out who is too because no one gets about Aligarh better than a kid. I mean we hope right. Otherwise Radha business. What are we lying about today Deborah? We are lying about cheerleading. An activity of organized cheering chanting dancing and sometimes competing with stumps Lisa. Do you know anything about cheerleading. I'm sure had mentioned my great uncle. The electronic scoreboard was installed at a basketball court. I used to go to games and watch him keep score the cheerleaders. Were pretty good but nothing is as exciting as watching your uncle. Flip those numbers. That's real spirit. I I can appreciate that but I think you're going to really feel the spirit when we learn more about cheerleading. Now whatever okay. I say we should find out about our contestants shall we? Who might that be? I know tell us are human child contestant as an eight year old who loves everything about baseball. I'm Talkin every billy leave of it lily are you. I'm good welcome to pass on. We're so happy that you're here. You love everything about baseball. You like watching it or playing it. That's cool duva favorite baseball team. Yes the New York mets. The New York mets and dealer favorite player on the team Noah syndergaard. Mister met. Yeah I was stuffy of him only and I went to high school together. I don't know about that and tells. I hear that there is a forbidden word in your house and it starts with the letter Z. And it is perhaps a vegetable and getting close to something you don't care for Sabre Broccoli might be Zucchini. This is something you do not like correct blab not in any which way not even Zucchini ice cream. Ill Zucchini no. It's kind of fun. So can all right. We'll we want to know some more fun facts about you lilly. But we're GONNA do it the way we do it on pants on fire playing two truths and a lie. Okay so you're gonNA tell us three facts about yourself. Two of those facts will be true. One will be ally and we have to figure out which one is the lie. Are you ready? Yeah Excellent. What are your three facts on so first one is my dreams go to West Point West Point? I know absolutely everything about Harry Potter. Threes my grandparents live in Spain Spain. No not space stain. That'd be fun. Okay what do you think Lisa? Which one of those things is a lie? She said earlier that she knew everything about baseball. Now trying to come back and say she knows everything about Harry Potter. That's like a lot of that. One is the law. That's fair. I think there's one things she doesn't know about. Maybe so lily. Which one of those things is a lie Is My grandparents live Spain? So you're saying you know everything about Harry Potter. Yes okay. Let's see. Do you know what Harry Potter does? Yeah he's a wizard. She does everything she does. Okay Lisa can we get some welcome music? For OUR CHEER EXPERTS. Two four six eight khurda appreciate. I want to hear about it if it's me otherwise I don't talk about it. I just appreciate me. Our first expert is Allison Williams. Allison introduce yourself to Palo Lily. I am a CO owner of an All Star cheerleading program in Brooklyn New York. Pay Thank you very much and our second expert is Gerry mccrae Jerry. Please introduce yourself to lily. Lilly how are you? I'm Cheri and competitive cheer choreographer at Various High Schools in New York and Connecticut and they used to cheerleader twenty Peac University. Two thousand five to two thousand nine go Queenie plus enough. Let's see those are some cheerful sounds? Lisa well I always feel cheerful. It's I'd say time toads. We are going to put our experts on the hot seat while they answered lillies questions Lisa. Who should we put on the hot seat? I Jerry Maguire. Because he's going to show us the money. His name is not Jerry Maguire. But I like your thinking anyway I fine. Blue Okay Lily. What question do you have for Jerry to start? Tell me about what you do. What does a typical day in your job? Look like sure so. I've been hired to come up with competitive cheer routines at various high schools. So I go. I work with the students. I kind of envisioned the whole routine. I teach it to them and we go through all the motions and until we're ready to go. Put it into competitions clue. Yeah that's my job to. That's basically what I do. I see. Allison how did cheerleading become a sport? That's an excellent question. So initially cheerleading began in the UK in the mid eighteen hundreds and then traveled over to the US and at first there were college students who were in the audience watching a football game and the athletes weren't doing well during the football game and so the audience decided that they were going to get together and they were going to encourage their fellow athletes from there the sport grew throughout the US and then officially became competitive sport in the nineteen eighties. It's also spread throughout the entire world since then cool. This is for you. Jerry what would you say is the worst injury seen on the Mat So one time I did see a basket. Toss gone wrong person. Just didn't catch the flyer so she fell down. Hit the person who was on the base that they both kind of hit their head on the ground and Yeah so just to head. Injuries is the worst I saw. Because you know you need your you need your brain to be intact or two. That are they okay. They're they're still with us. That's good yes where I don't see bring them. He said they were with us. It's just an expression that means they're non dead. Humans are obsessed with. Who's alive who is dead going? What are you robots obsessed with? Good question we have you ever had something called Zucchini tuition. So mean Okay Lily. Quick change the subject away from that. Vegeta- this one's for both of you. Can you tell me about the jump? The herkie Chanda Hurricane Joe. Okay who wants to take that question? I'll start okay. So there was a fellow named Lauren Turkey and he founded the NCI the national cheerleading association. And he also invented the pom pom so they named jump after him because everyone loves him and he big in the world of cheerleading. And it's just this fantasy cheerleading jumping with some nice arches in aerials well to add onto that Lawrence her car. The reason why the jump was specific named after him because he attempted to do a split jump and instead bent his leg and as a result he came up with this jump. That did not exist. Which is why was named after him the hurricane.

Mets "Fully Intent" On Trading Syndergaard

"Rival evaluators say they believe the mets are fully intent on dealing Noah syndergaard before the trade deadline quote. It's beyond listening said one. They want to move him so keep that in mind okay so noah syndergaard expected to move from the mets then maybe half an hour ago any Martino who covers the mets in New York for S. N. Y.. Says add the dodgers to the teams who have expressed interest in Noah syndergaard per sources. They have the players to get it done if they want. Now what's weird about that is syndergaard is a starting pitcher. He's cost controlled as for the next two seasons. You really don't need them this year but where he makes sense is next yes so here's the deal they've got kershaw obviously locked up for three more years. buehler's pre arbitration can't Amita they've got locked up but review is on a seventeen point nine million dollar qualifying offer he might win the Cy Young Award and he is going to be worth a lot on the open market. Richhill is thirty nine in a free agent very possible. They don't bring him back so it does make sense <hes> that they would lock up or trade for a guy who is locked up for multiple years and Noah syndergaard. They're looking at him. He's not had a great year but they're are probably looking at him and saying he's got great stuff. He's got electric stuff. He still has his fastball. He can be fixed. I like it if it doesn't prevent the dodgers for going after you to retain them over money. If money prevents them from retaining continue engine review the way he's been pitching this year that would bother me. Here's a here's the problem and he's on a one year deal which means he's an unrestricted free agent. I get it. I know how much again but you're not gonNA give him four years. He's GonNa give I'm four years. Maybe more than that somebody gave somebody gave Zach Cranky six and drank. He wasn't even coming off the CY. Young reused GONNA be coming off the site yet the dodgers that's the point he's coming off a CY young season. You're GonNa let money get in the way of giving you thirty. I always do two years old like I'm not being. I'm not paying a long gee. I know I'm GonNa let term get in the way somebody's GonNa give him four years and if I'm Andrew Friedman I'm not giving them for years. This is what held up cranky cranky. They said they would go five not six fix the diamondbacks went six and they let him walk would be very uncharacteristic for Andrew Friedman to give our guy four years. I mean okay and do it by and again. He's already thirty three years old and had some serious shoulder issue. I get that but he also has been their best pitcher this year. We've all seen throughout history that when he's healthy he's as talented as anybody. They have in the roster. Go ahead Greg. It was Kinda like when the Yank- when the Yankees signed signed to rookie Kuroda away from the dodgers he was pitching really well and he pitched really well for the Yankees afterwards too but it just was to a long time he was older. It just wasn't yeah they're playing and the other part of it is this you gotta pay an Andrew Friedman. I know because the one time I had him on the radio show he talked about it like you pay for future performance past performance and you have to kind of evaluate that when a guy is going to be thirty three to start the season next it's just me more just the idea of I feel like if you're the dodgers considering who you are as a franchise what your market value is the television situation that prevents a lot of your fans from actually seeing this team.

It's a strange trade market for starting pitchers in MLB

"Say a strange. <hes> trade market for starting pitchers which is really for this summer is at the center of the trade market. I was looking at you know sort of broad strokes. There are a couple of potential free agents who are available in Trade Zach Wheeler the mets but he's coming off the injured list to start on Friday. Jason Vargas of the mets Madison Bumgarner is a tweet it out yesterday. These like the image on on Mardi Mais flies family picture in back to the future. He's disappeared slowly. We right from the trade market. I'm I know that the giants loss yesterday but I think in less the giants are swept by San Diego over the weekend I think Bumgarner staves with the giants and they keep him for the rest of the urine they ride out how while they're playing now. Because Far Han Zaidi I either had a baseball OPS first year there. It'd be so difficult for him to continue to try to do business in that town in that organization if he pulled up the roots of this great run that they've been on without <hes> you know giving him a chance has to play it out and so bumgarner disappearing but they're a bunch of starting pitchers being talked about who are under teen control beyond this your Trevor Bauer Stroman Noah Syndergaard Robbie Ray the diamondbacks Mike Minor. Enter the Rangers Matthew Voided the Tigers and there are fewer buyers in there are those type of pitchers. The Astros are going to get a starting pitcher Yankees Braves phillies Oakland twins. Perhaps maybe the brewers although I wonder her if if they would necessarily be a big buyer so it's it's a really kind of a strange pitching market because you would assume that moves you're going to be made but it really comes down to okay which of the sellers blue jays the Indians maybe blink a little bit and come off. They're really high demands to try to bridge the gap with some of the buyers what you read on where some of these guys might land yeah. That's I think your take on the teams. Every eighteen you listed seems likely to at least want to acquire a starter. They want necessarily all do so obviously but I think every one of the has an actual knee and his position in a position in the standings word probably makes sense to do so. I wanted to just jump back to Bumgarner for one second. I agree with you. I date that the public reaction to them trading bumgarner would be very poor right now. The starting seem is not actually that good though they've been outscored they unless they look been outscored on the season. It's really unlikely that they're gonNA make the playoffs Joe Sheehan wrote about this in his newsletter his email newsletter yesterday to talk about how various sites fan graphs in baseball perspectives of the giants playoff playoff odds is extremely low.

"There's where there's smoke. There's fire and where there's fire this Brodie van wagon Brodie van wagon is making things happen shaking the tree. I like it. I like it. I like it as a met fan. I know we're going to be talking about all these different possible deals and all that other stuff. I can't really get into the deal until I know exactly what it is. And if it does involve Syndergaard in a Yankee uniform that is going to be hard to swallow really going to be hard to swallow. I mean, come on guys where we gonna put Noah Syndergaard on the is that what we're really really hope that that does not happen. Maybe Brian Cashman figures that a you know, I've worked with Brody down wagon and over the years. I we can have conversations we can talk about this. I do not wanna see there's there's two parts of me. Sure. Met fan part of me does not want. To see Noah Syndergaard any Yankee uniform. Sure that's the Mets fan point about the Yankee fan part of the waiver now. Now, the best the businessman part of me, the businessman wants the Mets to get a top-flight catcher and wants the Yankees to get a top-flight pitcher because I want my teams the Mets in this case, the B B fall to be whole as a team, and I want a top-flight catching that would be JT Muto. Let's face it. That's what it is. But man, if it's gonna cost us Noah Syndergaard any Yankee uniform, and I'm sure they'll be other things coming back because that's not enough and Noah Syndergaard. I'm sorry. That's just not enough. If if I'm going to sit here and watch Noah Syndergaard in a Yankee uniform, we better get something else back. It can't it can't just be this. And I can't I just can't watch that. Well, he's dealing with two teams Brody as with the Yankees in the Marlins wherever you said Noah Syndergaard to either one of those places it's going to be talked to take for the Mets fan one. You got him in the. The yankees. Yes. I know. It'd be the Marlins in the Marlins don't have much of a roster, and they're rebuilding and all that. But you still want to see Noah Syndergaard that individuals don't is in somebody else out there. The Mets can get involved. Here's somebody that's like, you know, a thousand miles away. Does it have to be like I'm not against remember last year? I was saying, you know, maybe over to the Yankees because of where he was in his career and what he was doing how bad the Mets replying and we're talking about glacier tours. We were talking about Andrew do we were talking about a couple of other players. And I said, well, you know, we just threw that out there. You know, when I was pushing that narrative got all that. But I'm thinking right now, man, if I gotta watch Noah Syndergaard of the Yankee uniform, I I may throw up. Yeah. You can't always judge based on fan. Anyway. Right. Just for the hell of it idiots last night. We'll have no idea how to just keep it real. And just keep it like at a steady pace, you guys are just like building and building and building and building to a crescendo to where you can't even walk anymore. But wait a second. You gotta Blaine OSs for the crescendo. I mean, I think. I think..

"Introducing Robertson Cano as well. As Edwin as. Guys in the fold and part of the key will be what's next for the Mets. And that's always sometimes the greedy question to ask right team makes a big move. And all right. That's good. We're placated for a little while his fans of that. What's the next thing? That is a case there has to be more. That follows this cannot be a standalone move the Mets. They have indicated with this deal. They want to win now. But they still don't have a team that you look at it as being a true contender within even just the NFL east. It's gonna be a real tough division this year. So there's more to get done and Brody bandwagon certainly understands that what he said today, but this is a key part of it because we're talking about the Noah Syndergaard trade rumors for weeks, and what sense would it make to go out trade for Robbie Keno. And then you're gonna move Noah, Syndergaard and Brodie van wagon and address that today. So I think the move of putting our chips on the table to some degree of how people carries this deal. I think Noah Syndergaard makes us he's critical to what we're trying to do now. And and I think he would have to be very special circumstances. I even consider moving Noah Syndergaard. I think this this deal puts us in a position where now we want to build around this core. Because now we've got the bullpen starting to shape behind him. And behind all the starters that can close out games. That was good to hear today because we're just getting a feel for what Brody van wagon age is going to be like as a general manager. And if it's going to be hell, we're going to go in this direction for a minute, and then turn around and make trade Noah, and then we're going to try to sign another starting pitcher like J happen know, you wanna have direct. You can't make a thousand moves all at once. And the way that canot make sense is to have someone with the ceiling of a Noah Syndergaard that he could be great. And that's what the Mets are going to need. They need some pieces to be great to have some career years, even as they fill in some of the rest of the holes on this processor and Noah Syndergaard who has a higher ceiling than him. So you want a guy like Syndergaard on your team who could be great as soon as this upcoming year and getting three pieces that fill a spot catcher. And he fills a bullpen spot. A center fielder be defense. I is the kind of deals we've seen from the San Diego Padres that doesn't do it for me for Noah Syndergaard. I'd rather have the one player with star potential and production then three players that hold down the fort at a few positions. And then as far as the Mets they've been tied to just about everybody this off season, right? A couple of weeks ago. Bryce, Harper's name came up. Not a whole lot of smoke to that. But JT real Muto. We've talked about him for what year and a half years. Someone the Mets should go after he wants to be moved from Miami. Or at least isn't willing to sign on long term there. And according to reports in the Marlins have been loath to deal him within the division. But Tim Healy had a report tonight that the Mets are in on JT real Muto. Now, this would be another deal that would sting just as up a prospect like Celtic stings, but this would be a major. League. Player would have to be a part of it. As Haley tweeted that the Mets Marlins talk about a real Muto trade source says, but the Mets package would have to include at least one young major league peace, and you would think Brandon Nimmo amid Rozario or Michael Conforto. One of those three would have to be a part of a deal for JT real Muto's. You're opening up another whole, but are you able to make it work to make a big move in free agency or find another piece to come in? This is where there's a lot happening as the Mets. They're going to be extremely busy this off season. But they're trying to look at every direction that they can go and make it all fit together. But again, they're looking to win now, and they should be looking to win. Now. Now's the time to do that. Let's get from you guys eight hundred three to one zero seven ten Brad. And alpine joins what's up Brad? Hey, Pete, this particular call. Yeah. A lot of mixed emotions have been negative positive negative positive. But I think it's incomplete I mean, you know, you gotta see how the rest of the off season goes from last year wasn't the closer is getting closer. And you know, these guys need at least two maybe three more arms, and the thanks you think about the service serviceable arms or you have move OJ's Elman, and maybe drew Smith Shah, they definitely need another two arms in that Penn. But at least now you have the star in the closer, and it becomes a little easier to back fill a seventh eighth inning guy. Not that they should go to Brad box burger, necessarily, but you don't necessarily have to go, you know, four or five years on Craig kimbrel. You can take that next step down where there a bunch of options. I think Britain would make a ton of sense for the Mets. Yeah. I agree. But I before it gets to propose. I did like there was one point when Malik Smith was going to be included in the trade. I love that. I was like here's here's another version of Roger sedan, yo where you have a platoon with with garrison. That'll that answers the centerfield question. But here's a here's a here's scenarios. I was thinking about it. You know, it seems like they are serious about trading thorn here, here's a scenario where could make sense I heard that even doll would would be a centerpiece in a trade with the Rockies. Authority gets David doll pry away. Brennan Rogers, you know, one of the top prospects, and they have a good catchy prospect, and Tom Murphy. Then you keep doll 'cause we need a righty with this with this lineup. It's very lefty heavy right now. And then you take Rogers Murphy, and maybe you throw in gear me. And then that's how you get real multo may. Value. But I like, you know, Dow makes some sense to me that's the kind of player you mentioned Rogers to those are the kind of players that you want to be getting back for Noah Syndergaard. I haven't seen enough of he's played a handful of games in center field. That would be a key for me. I if they're going to go out and get an outfielder it should be someone that can handle center and not faking it like they have with nemo and Conforto at that spot. Yeah. Historic. I looked at his breakdown historically, and he's played about less than a third of its dangerous skills. He's probably not a true center fielder. But you know, I. Yeah. I I do think they need a right in the head or, but that's maybe that's like you get real multiplayer. You get the Marlins to throw in some bullpen arms. And then you saw an atom of you know, or Britain solid eight which you definitely need your own. Then then I think you gotta team, and you know, you can replay replay Syndergaard with with either Lugo or maybe sign a Baldy. But I think that's the thing with Syndergaard on one hand. Can you deal? Syndergaard. And you save a couple of bucks to be able to spend it elsewhere on the other hand, you have to replace him with somebody who's probably going to cost more than Syndergaard. Well. Yeah. I I agree. But I think if you could really strengthen the team if you get if you get a solid catcher and remote, so you really bolstered the offense. And you get you know, you have a solid bullpen then you can live with you can live with Lugo at Shreveport, replacing Syndergaard or or maybe if all you probably wouldn't be that expensive. Right. I think evolved is gonna do. Well, we we just saw Corbin today. Get one hundred forty million dollars. And he didn't even go to the Yankees or the Phillies. Two of the teams that we thought would be really in on a starting pitcher saw I think, you know, this market now for starting pitcher sets up a lot better than it did before I didn't see a whole lot about Patrick Corbin ending up in Washington, and they spent one hundred forty million dollars on him more than you Darvish got last year. So I gotta think evolved is going to do very well this off season. Donna Bridgeport is next Tom. Hey, listen, I love all your points about the Mets. But it's very interesting about we were all trying to figure out what the next step of the planet. The Astros signed a catcher. So we thought it seems like ground doubtless falling to the Mets. Well, it'd be hold the news that the Braves were getting real Muto for top fifty prospects, including the young third baseman. Then just rumors, right? No. But Ken Rosenthal reported the Mets call right back. This is on Twitter. And they made an offer including a Madrazo believing Jimenez is ready to play shortstop. And now, it's gaining strength. All over social media. The newspapers are chiming in on it. And my brother just texted me in a panic that they're including Nimmo in the trade. But the bottom line is the bottom line is a seem determined to keep real modal waste from the Braves. The Mets listen, I love real Muto. But I'd rather have grown Dow as a free agent savers REO this type of scenario than spend. These projects depends on what they do at shortstop. They'd have to go out and acquire a shortstop. So if you make the move for real Muto, yes, you're going to have a whole at short. Now. Are you gonna fill claiming him? And as is ready. The other thing they need. It was their minor league department assisting heaven Ascot place shortstop now you and I both know that's a smokescreen. They'll they'll say that now, but then they will try to replace Jimenez. With a major leaguer. But again, that's your fallback plan that they now if this is true, but let's say the Braves get real mood. I'll mentioned mentioned won't trade Rosario Nimmo their unlimited trade possibilities this winter now. And this is the thing they're they're talking about in the same way. I mean, everybody just about everybody seems to be on the table. You've heard everybody except. Yeah. But don't you think though, p don't you think that after all these teams Milwaukee Colorado and Tampa Bay the ones that supposedly are in on Noah Corbin got today. I would wonder he's offers are being increased. Yes, I think that probably helps the Noah market. Oh, don't you. Don't you think? So he didn't say he wouldn't trade him. I was listening to your tape. He said it would take an overwhelming walk. Yeah. But I really believe that overwhelming office coming because I haven't seen anything even close to overwhelming on the rumor mill no, no not yet. But I mean when the winter meetings come and they they get sticker shock twice by ordinance. Getting you just mentioned a few moments ago would have all these going to be getting I you know, why wouldn't a team take somebody who was under control for three more years. Yes risk of injury. I think that's what's holding everybody back. And that's what I think is behind the Mets trading him. I don't believe that mess thinking get a full season. Otherwise, it would be no argument about keeping them. You know? But the bottom line is other teams have got to be taking a look at the creation market now. My God look at these prices. I think it helps out all the pitchers and thanks for call Tom as I mentioned with the of the same holds true for a Noah Syndergaard. If the Mets were to deal him the fact that the nationals in here a whole lot about them being in on starting pitching this winter. And that they go in and get the top free agent starting pitcher and the Yankees are still hungry to get a starter the Phillies Benny other teams around major league baseball. It just it does drive up the prices. And again, though, you're not gonna find too many players have the ceiling of Noah, Syndergaard, even even like JT, real Muto. You know, what real Muto is? He's terrific. But Syndergaard has the chance to be great in a way that others can. And I get it these higher risk because of the injuries. But I I'm willing to take that chance when you're trying to be great with this Mets team. You're. Trying to do it soon. And just catch. Everybody up in catch myself up as well, Ken Rosenthal tweets within the last hour as far as real Muto goes that the Marlins won at least one controllable major league acid as a centerpiece for real moved L could Fourtou nemo Rosario is a talked about speculated earlier, but would need to replace whoever. They traded free agent market or other deals. So the teams are engaged Mets being aggressive. So that makes sense. That's where you're looking at a real del Rio..

"Us all feel uncomfortable? Is that the best time to trade guys is when you don't wanna trade guys. That's what makes us all feel uncomfortable that the best time to train a guy is when you don't want to trade a guy and the worst time to train a guy is when everyone wants to trade a guy. And then the other thing I wonder about and I made this comment last week to Joe, and it had nothing to do with any rumor it was just a feeling I had we were talking about the Yankees and talking about Corey kluber. And that was would you trade Miguel? Landa hard for Corey kluber. And in my opinion. I would not and I define it. I said here's how I would trade Miguel. Landa horrified. The Yankees, I would only trade him for a young pitcher controllable really really good not saying the deal is out there, and the two names that I mentioned because those guys aren't they're not all over the place. I'm saying I would trade him. But this is what I would need back to make that trade. There are some Yankee fans that disagree with me. They look at Corey kluber and say blanket, do it. Go sign Manny Machado and the hard for kluber. Let's go. I don't agree with that. But is there a deal out there where I would consider moving into horrifying the Yankees. Sure. And is there a deal out there for Noah, Syndergaard, which I would be open to making if I'm the Mets. Sure, am I connecting all these dots? To those two guys. I don't know. Maybe I am maybe not. "Next year and if they are going to be Be, a contender in twenty nineteen I don't see how they're doing, that if you went and cesspit is isn't a key part. Of it and this is another reason that you, look at the Mets and the decisions, that they have to make over the. Next couple of, weeks and I'm not a guy pushing for them to deal the grammar Syndergaard here but they have to be, extremely honest with themselves and truly evaluate whether or not they could be a contender next year. And everything tells me they're not going to be able to do that they're not gonna be able to fix everything that's wrong with this team and you? Know, up and down in the, span, of one off season in, one trade deadline here. This team needs a lot of work they need a couple of years and they have. Talent you have the Graham you have Syndergaard you have position players that you think you can build, around over the, next few, years and I think twenty twenty should really be what, they're targeting but that's got to affect how you go into this trade deadline what moves you're gonna make in the off season Tomase Zack Wheeler is a guy he's under club control through the end of, next year he is someone they. Should be looking to trade high on. In the next couple of weeks and they should ask for quite. A bit for Jack Wheeler but I don't think they have to go to the grammar Syndergaard they could do that in the off season. I really don't think it'll be that big a difference what they get back, whether it'd be now or whether it be in the off season and I think you get more players that are major league ready or major league established if you do it in the off. Season but you know this all has to factor in to the Mets, thinking so this, huge news to to break at the end of a long night a game that, you know Noah Syndergaard is throw ninety. Four miles per hour in that fifth inning and he. Says he's a dead, arm you know. He's out of his routine just tired but five mph drop in your fastball relatively suddenly. Mickey Callaway went out to the mound apparently he was satisfied, with Noah Syndergaard had to say there but that's going to be. Something that you've got to watch next time out It's Syndergaard there he certainly didn't seem to be concerned and, you have Jerry's familiar who's just waiting over his agent to, call him and tell him where he's going and now according to. A lot of reports the Oakland Athletics are. In front Jerry Crasnick of ESPN had a report that, the as they're not, as willing to pick up the money as some other teams that, will play out and and we'll find out exactly what goes on but clearly the Mets have to make more of a focus of. Getting minor league, talent in return even if they've got to pay some. All whatever it is a familiar salary for the rest of the year and then the math what again, seventy. Five was an exciting game men on base left and right they're. Dodged bullets all, game the Yankees left. A small, army on bass tonight fourteen, men left, on base by the Yankees in hey. Bragging rights. Game for the Mets there's no big. Picture really look at as far. As wins and losses go, anymore but you enjoy the moments when they pop up and for Mets fans At least tonight you can go to the Yankee fans in the pitching matchups for the rest of this weekend bode, pretty well for the Mets with Stephen Madsen sunny gray tomorrow afternoon and then on Sunday it'll be, Jacob degrom and Masahiro Tanaka on Sunday night, baseball who knows maybe some building blocks for success brought.

"To learn more as for more on noah syndergaard's return to keep in mind he has only thrown less than one hundred innings since the start of last year he missed most of last year with the latte issue and now this season with the finger issue and i asked mickey calloway how important is it for him to take the ball every five days from here on out just to establish a baseline of innings sports future that's very key he we really need him to stay healthy the rest of this year so you know when he stays healthy next year he can push the two hundred inning limit that's one of the concerns we had code into the season was located now if he stays healthy all year what are we going to do when he starts pushing one hundred twenty one hundred thirty one hundred and fifty innings you know how's he gonna feel what do we need to do to control that no the finger issue kind of controlled that for us and now we don't have to worry about that but we really need him to make you know that that start every fifth day the rest of the season to get to an inning total that is going to be something he can build off of i think mets fans to just have something to get excited about every five days or at least two out of every five days now with jacob degrom is of course been doing over the course of the season well we welcome on right now anthony tacoma covers the mets for 'em lb dot com tony how are we doing i'm doing well how are you i'm good got a little round of applause out hey little going the noah syndergaard on the hill that'll bring a little bit of a buzz what kind of limitations might he'd be dealing with tonight as he returns from the finger lakes tissue well just heard there's that sounds like eighty to eighty five pitches but more than that it's the guy who has to this level in a couple of months now and no one expected that when syndergaard i came back and you see it more with hitters who come back and they haven't seen live pitching a they'd be rusty with pictures can be rusty too so i'm not exactly expecting him to go out and go seven scoreless tonight but you want him to kind of reestablish himself on that map and become the guy at least eighty percent of the guy that we all thought he would be coming into this season because you want to go into and there might not be a more important thing for this team going into the offseason at least thinking this is the guy who can give you two hundred plus innings going forward in the future he hasn't really been that guy they need them to be thrown over one hundred and eighty innings in his season for a couple of years ago and then a wildcard start as well so it's not zip he's never built his himself up but if you're gonna look at you know two seasons let's say if something else does pop up even if the injuries are tommy john or shoulder or things that you worry about long term you do have to have a certain baseline to be able to be able to withstand next year and the rigors of a long season well injury prone is injury prone and and i'm not saying no syndergaard is there yet but we've talked about you wanna cesspit us in the problems that he's had with with legs and and does that have to do with all the weightlifting he does wolf noah syndergaard lifts as much as anyone so does that play into his injuries the past couple of seasons obviously last year with the latte you would think more so than this year with the finger but everything's connected to many finger everything's connected it really is so yeah you do have to worrying and you want to see a stretch of one two three seasons in a row where he's totally healthy and a lot of pitchers never have that but the best ones do and the best ones you look at the the max scherzer of the game in the clayton kershaw has and guys to go two hundred plus every single season no matter how good you are if you're not doing that you're never going to be the elite of the.

"That that can happen yeah you're right i mean even the prospect of one game let's say a guy comes back goes to for four or he gets a couple of rbi or it's a home run i mean you know that's going to be better than a lot that's out there in the waiver wire clean kershaw did go on the disabled list it's going to be at least a month i don't think we seem to mid july to the all star break we talked about this in the last show i gotta move down the rankings again i mean he can't be i'm not sure he's a top ten starter for me now because i have concerns about even when he comes back whether he can stay healthy and i think those concerns are fair i think the conversation about top ten is also fair off the top of my head i leaned towards him being outside that group i mean concern how can we read noah syndergaard i had a kershaw we feel we're in that exactly and syndergaard by the way the update on him is they think he will be able to pitch sunday in the subway series against the yankees so syndergaard you can make the case syndergaards going to give you more starts the rest of the year absolutely work wheels off no idea that's the thing like he could get the disabled anytime especially if they keep losing two out of every three games why would the key player i'll throw against kershaw why isn't aaron nola putting being put head to head again i thought about it i think i'm gonna do it i have no eleven would bumgarner madison bumgarner coming back on tuesday go head to head against kershaw i think that's a valid cozier as five like i there's a lot of pitchers in in that next range i'm like it's complete my i mean this is not a complete panic on kershaw i think if you have them you've.

"Partying and not taking the game is serious out of what it was but after that cold reaction i initially had about the mets moving on for matt harvey you start to get depressed and you start to think about what could have been because i think we've all learned this lesson in all sports when you think you're going to be back when you think you're going to get another chance think again you may never get another chance and i think the met fans remember that from two thousand and six when walking out of that building out of shays stadium after beltran struck out the quiet quiet awkwardness of that ballpark when beltran struck out maybe you just try to tell yourself it but i tried to tell myself oh the mets will be back this was bad but they'll be back and they weren't they were back choking in two thousand seven choking in two thousand eight but they would have a back in two thousand fifteen with that young ridiculously good rotation i tried to tell myself don't say you'll be back evan don't say that you should learn from two thousand six but there was still that hopefulness that they would be back and buy back even there outside of noah syndergaard and then last year was the disaster it's been and we already know where this year's going i mean it's pretty obvious this year's going now so the release the dfa of matt harvey is also symbolic of what i think we all hoped this team would be and the cold hard reality here in early may is that they are never going to be what we thought they would be matt harvey is gone zack wheeler is certainly not showing many signs of becoming the dominant pitcher that we all hoped he would be when the mets traded carlos beltran for him the jury is still out on steven matt's but it hasn't been great insure you feel good about jake and you feel good about noah and maybe two of the five guys being really good is a win because i even said that a few years ago but i guess i was saying that without it being the reality but you look at the rest of this roster you look at last night that's.

"And what you love about this mec team early on in the year is two fold number one the bullpen has been far better than anyone could have imagined and even after that hiccup what was it monday night against the washington nationals friday night's game to me is the perfect example of why set the lugo and why robert gazelle man absolutely positively need to be in this met bullpen for the foreseeable future because the mets do not win this ballgame they don't win this ball game on friday night if gazelle minna lugo of starting because they came in for noah syndergaard lugo two shutout innings to win the job two shutout innings zalman having to hit any extra innings because you're running out of players gets it runs the bases scores on assessment a single and the bullpen is a major strength at the moment will that continue to be the case it remains to be seen but it's the mets weigh their options with matt harvey right now no this could zelmanov mugo gotta be there in the bullpen guys that mickey callaway can count on the guys that mickey callaway can trust you want both of them bridging the gap doing the job they've done exactly that then you get to sespe he's hates matter he's ten for fifty five on the year he's got doreen game winning hits so i'm fine with says but it's telling you after the game you know what i'm gonna fuck right now i'm not happy with my approach maybe i gotta get back on the golf course maybe we'll help my hand eye coordination something.
