Aho's hat trick lifts Hurricanes past Flyers 5-4 in OT
"Sebastian aho's third goal of the game gave the hurricanes a 5 four win over the flyers. I was able to gather a lot of speed and there was like a offensive gap there. So I just went for it. Martin H asked tied it with just .3 seconds left in regulation, allowing ajo to beat Felix sandstrom 28 seconds into OT. Brady Shay also scored, and frederik Andersen stopped 29 shots as Carolina expanded its lead in the metropolitan division to three points over the Devils. Tyson Forrester Noah Kate and Brendan lemieux each had a goal and an assist for the flyers. I'm Dave ferry.

Eric Welcomes Amanda Grace of Ark of Grace Ministries
"Amanda grace, you're a friend of mine. Hello. Hello, friend. I like to just talk to people that I like. Their friends, they've become friends. You've become a friend. And I get to introduce my audience to people that I love and you're tough to sum up though. You're tough to sum up. Your husband Chris is sitting over there. We're going to talk about him later, but. I want to get your story first of all, but for people that are just tuning in to like, what is this? Did this woman write a book on the history of the Nazis? Did she, how do you sum yourself up? Well, I joke around and I say and I'll explain why. I'm sort of like a prophesying female version of Noah. A prophesying female version of Noah. I don't think anybody's tracking with that. So we're going to start over. First of all, as soon as you open your mouth, I know this is a woman who grew up in the New York area. Yes. So what part of New York? I was born at Einstein hospital in The Bronx. In The Bronx. In The Bronx, New York grew up near pelham Parkway area, my father's from gunhill road actually in The Bronx. And then we would like that's going to ring bells across the country. Like, oh yeah, dunghill wrote. Why did you say that? What is that area known for? What do you mean? Well, near williamsbridge road right off of pelham Parkway happened to be one of the nicer areas of The Bronx. Okay. So that's where my nana and papa lived. My mom's parents. So when you say nana and papa, that's another clue Italian. Yes. Or Italian. My wife is Italian. And so that's another thing when I first, it was my friend Joel turon, dear, dear friend, Brooklyn, tie in. He said, you got to check out Amanda grace. And when Suzanne and I went to your YouTube channel to watch you, I just thought this is incredible. This is a woman that is obviously really outspoken about her Christian faith to put it mildly. You move in the prophetic. That's not one of those terms that a lot of people are like, what does it mean you move in the prophetic, whatever. We'll get to that. But you're obviously a real New Yorker. Yes.

"No, I mean, like. 'cause that would be a different story. That would be like, if that was the mother of his children that shot him, then you know what? I may actually be on her side. You never know. Yeah. I might have been there like, you know what, sister? You shoot him in the back, girl. That's right. You shoot him thinking he ain't gonna pay after he play. You shoot him in the back, thinking he gonna run away from his responsibilities. Shoot him dead. But this is nothing to do with it. A policeman shoots an unarmed man. He's running away. And then they have the nerve. They have the nerve, the crazy enough to say this officer feared for his life. He was afraid. Afraid of what? That man's ready to wait. There's nothing less frightening than somebody running away from you. That is the definition of fear. He's running away. The only thing he could have done to be less threatening is to crack like a chicken as he does. There's nothing less frightening than a man running away from him. Like, what are you afraid of? You can't say he was running. I was afraid. Afraid of what? He's running away from you. That makes no sense. You're seeing him from behind. No one is threatening from behind. They're running away. There's no one. Like, maybe Kim Kardashian, but nobody else. He's running away from you. You shoot him in the back. And I was like, yeah, I was afraid. Afraid of what? What do you have abandonment issues? Why would you shoot a man? My dad left when I was 5. Makes no sense. So I don't know how not to die. Here I am in my car. On the side of the road, in a random street in Los Angeles. And the whole time I was like, I don't want to die. I want to die. I will die. And the policeman gets out of his car. And he starts walking towards me. And his hand is by his side. And it's doing this. And I've watched westerns. I know what this means. This is never good. This never turns into friendship. So now I'm starting to stress, and I'm looking at him in the side mirror of my car, and I'm panicking because objects in the mirror are closer than they appear. So he's going to get there at any moment. And I don't know why. I don't know why I did this. As soon as you go, I panicked. I completely panicked and I launched myself out the window. I took my body, and I threw it out the window, and I fell onto the side of the car, just like, and onto the side of the car. I basically went back to nature. I thought of a predator, you don't make eye contact and you play dead. That's all I did. I just played that on the side of the car. Jim, which freaked him out. He was completely he was just like, what the heck? Hey. Hey, what what's going on? I said, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. He's like, sure, what are you sorry for? Is that whatever it is that's gonna make you shoot me I'm sorry. I'm sorry, officer. He said, sure. Get back in the car. Get back in the car and no. Not all that died, please. I'm not fully for that trick, please officer. He's like, sure, I'm not gonna kill you. Just get back in the car. I don't mean shame. This guy was just as freaked out as I was. I'm not gonna lie. 'cause I mean, when I put myself in his shoes, what does he do? Imagine that you're standing on the side of a guy jumps out of his own car. What is he? He can't even call for backup. What does he say? Ten four I need back on it. What do you need? I got a black eyed kid killed himself. Ten, four, you gotta make something out better than that. We'll back you up. Don't worry. What do you say? It's just like, the guys freaking out, I'm freaking out. And I'm lying there and this guy, he approaches slowly, versus he finally gets to me and listen to my arms and he's like, get back in the car so get back. It stops me back into my window. Get back. He's like, sure. Sure. Calm down. Calm down. I'm sorry. He's like, sure. Have you been drinking? I said no. I haven't been drinking. I said, okay, calm down. Do you know why I pulled you over, sir? Just because I'm black. And now I wasn't being an ass. Nor was I joking. I'd just been informed that as a black person in America, if you drive a really nice car, there's a good chance you're going to get pulled over by the police. So in my world, he was doing his job as I had been told. Yeah, I wasn't judging him. In fact, I was a little flattered. I was like, well, thank you very much, for the officer. For noticing this bad boy right here, that's right. 2015, baby. I was really excited. He was more freaked out, though, 'cause I said to him, I said, it's because I'm black. And then he did this thing that I've come to learn is the reaction of white people in America. When they hear information, they can't process fast enough. Have this thing where they smile on the outside, but on the inside, it's almost as if they short circuiting. Like he looks at me and he goes, I'm sorry, what? I said, because I'm black, that's why you pulled me over and he goes, no, no, hey, no, that is not that. No, hey, I don't know. No, that is not the. Story. I felt so bad for him. Yeah. I think we both learned a lot that day, the two of us. I grew from that experience. I was speeding. That's why he pulled me over. But he let me go. What Really Happened in Genesis?
"Somebody said Charlie, I really enjoyed your conversation on genesis. Can you do more of it? How do you believe genesis applies to our times today? And so I just want to preface this by saying I'm by no means a biblical scholar. I do not speak biblical Hebrew, but I do study the word and I love it and I'm actually spending a lot of time going deep into the Torah, which means teacher through mixture of commentaries, rabbi teachings, Dennis prager's rational Bible is terrific. And then applying it to today, because what is the Torah or what is the Bible have to teach us today and the answer is quite a lot. So to answer the question is one take on the kind of beginning of the Torah of genesis, which is genesis one through 11. So genesis one through 11 is very unique. It's a genesis one through 11. You could argue is the ultimate issues. Portion of genesis. Not to say that ultimate issues are not part of genesis 12 through. I think genesis goes to 50, right? Genesis 50 chapters on a second. Genesis 12 through 50. But it gets very historical, very literal starting in genesis 12, and it's just abruptly says God spoke to Abram, do this, do that. Leave your father's home, take saraya's your wife, you know, one thing after the other after gets very literal and the genealogy begins. But genesis one through 11, at times can seem somewhat abstract in the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. That's very literal, but then it gets to the Garden of Eden and Cain and Abel, and the sons of Noah and then no way a covenant. And then out of nowhere, if you read the Bible and I encourage you guys to read the Bible in one year, you could do that with my wife's ministry, Bible in three 6 5 dot com that is Bible in three 6 5 dot com. You read genesis 9, all kind of flows, God's coming with Noah, and you read genesis ten, which is the table of nations, which is kind of this lineage. And then you read genesis 11, it kind of comes out of nowhere. So in genesis 11, it says now the whole world had one language and a common speech as people moved eastward, they found a place in China and settled there. Now this is not about the Jews. Or the people of the sons of no, the Jews don't really exist as a people yet. They have not been given that covenant Abraham or Abram has not yet existed. So it's kind of this one off story. And it's a very interesting story. It's the story of the people of Babel.

Mel K and Eric Know Elites Don't Care About the Little Guy
"Things we were talking about Mel is that there are people elites who do not for whatever reason care about the little guy. And sometimes it is on a very personal level. They can be contemptuous of someone standing right in front of them, but usually it's more abstract. And it reminds me of the famous scene in the third man when Joseph cotton is up in the prater in this Viennese. It's still there. I've been on it Ferris wheel, and he's up there with the Orson Welles, who's the villain. And Orson Welles looks down and says, you see those people down there, they look like moving dots. They're so far away. What difference would it make if a few of those dots just stopped moving? In other words, if some people die and I can make money off of it, does it really matter? And if you don't believe in God and the sanctity of human life, why should it matter? And for a lot of these people, it doesn't matter. So when you hear about former governor Cuomo or others putting people in nursing homes, realizing people are going to die and it's going to suit you. They don't care. But it's hard for most people to get their heads around the idea that you mean that guy who maybe I don't agree with them and stuff, but you mean he could be that bad. Yeah? Or the banality of evil. Well, that's what I'm saying. It's a place in life where you don't care. And I think that we have to really examine this. And people have to go out there and understand the whole conspiracy theory world saying that sonstein writing a whole book to say that anything anyone saying about Obama was a conspiracy theory after the whole war and report, if anyone questioned it was a conspiracy theorist created by the CIA, we have to start looking at actual conspiracy, not the theories, the facts, and the fact that we have identified who these people are. And they don't hide it, and they have a big meeting coming up, and people should be watching the World Economic Forum, and the Davos meetings coming up themselves and listen to what Noah harari has to say and listen to what Klaus Schwab has to say and listen to what they're talking about with global governance. And then head on over from that website. We form dot org look around there at global governance at smart technology at biometric data at what they want to do with our climate with our government and start really thinking, wow. They might have had other weapons even more deadly than rocks in those days. But God was there to protect the man and protect his family, and Noah had faith to trust him in all of this. He didn't fear for his life when he went out into the Woods looking for that perfect tamarack to bring home to the art that was a tamarack, but the wood for the construction, no one had ever seen the kind of rain that was going to fall on the earth during this flood. But no a preached it by faith, as if it was the truth. No one knew or had ever heard that there were fountains of water under there that would explode to the surface. But now I had been told and he believed it. And his life was built around that fact. Judgment is coming. How did that go over with the neighbors? Do you suppose he was ever hit with a rotten egg? To be one of the churches of the lord. Here is the pattern. It's laid out for us in the word of God. For years, Noah and his sons went out falling and cutting trees. Refining the waterproofing pitch, putting timbers together and driving those pins in to hold them in place. Fitly framing together and holy temple of the lord out there in that wilderness. I have no doubt that the ark while under construction for a couple of decades. Nope. No, more than that. Several sensory. I have no doubt that the R could became a pulpit. "Into the more practical. Since I will be trying to learn these lessons with you, I may stutter and stammer and not connect all the dots very well. So pray for me in this and I will pray for you. But if we both pray in expectant faith, we will prosper because this is a promise of God. Tonight I would like to consider Noah as an example of a church planter. A missionary if you like. Paul says in hebrews 11 by faith, Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear prepared an arc to the saving of his house. By the which he condemned the world and became the heir or became heir of the righteousness, which is by faith. I know that we have studied this man and his faith as illustrations of Salvation. And when we were looking at first Peter, we looked at Noah as someone saved by the ark which God prepared for him. I have no intention of undoing those lessons because they are apt and they remain true. And so on. But I would like you to lay those aside just for a few minutes as we look at Noah from a slightly different direction. Turn to genesis. Chapter 5, excuse me. Chapter 6, we read through 5 through 18. I believe that the lord Jesus brought Noah into the 21st century.

"Genesis chapter 6 verse number 5. And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth. And that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil, continually. And it repented the lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart. And Jehovah said, I will destroy, man, whom I have created from the face of the earth. Both man and beast and the creeping thing and the fowls of the air for it repented me that I have made them. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the lord. These are the generations of Noah. There was a just man and perfect in his generations and Noah walked with God. And Noah began three sons, shem, ham, and japheth. The earth also was corrupt before God. And the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and behold it was corrupt. For all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, the end of all flesh is come before me, for the lord is the earth is filled with violence through them. And behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Make the an arc of Gopher wood. Rooms shut down, making the arc. And pitch it within and without with pitch. This is the fashion, which thou shalt make it of. The length of the arc shall be 300 qubits, the breadth of it, 50 qubits, the height of it 30 cubits, a window shell thou make to the arc and in a qubit shell thou finish it above, and the door of the arc shelt thou sett in the side thereof with lower second and third stories shut down making. And behold, ah, even I do bring a flood of waters upon the earth to destroy all flesh, wherein is the breadth of life from under heaven. And everything that is in the earth shall die. But with thee, will I establish my covenant, and thou shalt come into the arc thou and thy sons, and thy wife, and my sons wives with the will stop reading there. And my father, we're probably that you'd strengthen our faith. All right, our ability to understand our wisdom in applying your word. We pray that you'd speak to our hearts, the illustrations that we have before us tonight. Glorify yourself in a sweet pray. In Jesus name, amen. You may be seated. As Christians, we have been taught by God's grace to put our faith in the finished work of the lord Jesus Christ on the cross. Perhaps there was a time when we knew that Jesus death meant Salvation, but that knowledge had not yet been translated into genuine faith in Christ. We knew and even believed that Christ is the savior. But we had not cast our all upon him. They're not being yet a total surrender to the lord with a dependence only on him for Salvation. But that was then. And today things are radically changed. We have given up every shred, personal works, and self righteousness. Our faith is in the lord. And it's as real as Jesus own illustration about eating and drinking his flesh and his blood. It's genuine. It's real.

The Bible Recap
A Look at Job 1-5: God Is Sovereign Over All
"Today's reading landed us about 400 years post flood and we met a man named job. Initially he sounds a lot like Noah, he's blameless and upright and fierce God. In Noah's story, things got really dark, then there was some relief at the end, and not to give spoilers but we'll see the same type of thing playing out in job story. Based on our conversation from day two, you may have noticed that job one 6 referred to the angels as sons of God, including Satan who, in his created form, is an angel. In job one 8, God initiates a conversation about job with Satan. One thing worth noting here, the word Satan means adversary, one who resists accuser. There's some debate about this, but many people believe Satan is not necessarily a proper name that refers to one being, but that it's a general term referring to God's adversary in this instance, a fallen angel who opposes God's reign. Later in scripture, we have references to a specific fallen angel named Lucifer, but there's reason to believe that the word Satan doesn't always refer specifically to Lucifer. There are many fallen angels who are God's adversaries. In fact, a lot of people believe that revelation 12 indicates that one third of all the angels God created ended up rebelling against him and were cast from heaven, so there are a lot of satans, and I think if our to pronounce that word correctly, it would be Satan. But I'm not going to try to get too weird here. After God initiates the conversation about job with one of his enemies, the enemy concocts a plan to test job and we see God allowing it. Here's what's noteworthy to me in this section. God didn't create the plan for testing job, but he allowed it. He wasn't the active agent in the evil perpetrated by Satan, but he was still sovereign over it, and in his mercy, he limited it. Satan was on a leash, he was not allowed to take job's life. Satan attacked job in a variety of ways in one 11 through 19, we saw that his losses came twice as acts of men, the sabaeans and the chaldeans, and twice as acts of nature, fire from heaven and wind. Quick sidebar, I wonder if the phrase fire from heaven is an old school way to refer to lightning. Regardless, God granted Satan the opportunity to influence both of those things, the acts of man and the acts of nature. For God to allow Satan to influence those things, means that God himself is the one who has control over those things. You can't give someone influence over something that isn't in your domain.

The Bible in a Year
Day 4 of The Bible in a Year: The Flood
"Genesis 7 and 9. Then the lord said to Noah, go into the ark, you and all your household, for I have seen that you are righteous before me in this generation. Take with you 7 pairs of all clean animals, the male and its mate, and a pair of the animals that are not clean, the male in its mate. In 7 pairs of the birds of the air also, male and female, to keep their kind alive upon the face of all the earth. For in 7 days I will send rain upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights in every living thing that I have made, I will blot out from the face of the ground. And Noah did all that the lord had commanded him. Noah was 600 years old, when the flood of waters came up on the earth. And Noah and his sons and his wife and his son's wives with him went into the ark to escape the waters of the flood. Of clean animals. And of animals that are not cleaned and of birds and of everything that creeps in the ground, two and two male and female went into the arc with Noah as God had commanded Noah. And after 7 days the waters of the flood came upon the earth. In the 600th year of Noah's life, in the second month, on the 17th day of the month, on that day all the fountains of the great deep burst forth, and the windows of the heavens were opened and rain fell upon the earth 40 days and 40 nights. On the very same day, Noah and his sons, shem and ham and jfe, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them entered the ark, and they, and every beast according to its kind and all the cattle according to their kinds and every creeping thing that creeps on the earth, according to its kind, in every bird, according to its kind, every bird of every sort. They went into the ark with Noah, two and two of all flesh in which there was the breath of life.

"Monetization of eccentricity is far advanced. And people make money off of this. And they make a lot of money off of being eccentric or extreme in their politics. But does Noah ruffman as a new piece of commentary saying, that ain't normal. That's just not where the country is. Do you agree with no or do you think actually the problem is much bigger than no one and I think? So Noah is correct, but the incentive structure of our politics is to be eccentric. Herschel Walker beat a whole bunch of guys and that George a Republican primary. And one guy was giving away an AR-15. And can you believe this nut job giving away an AR-15? Well, issuing a whole bunch of white papers of here's what I would do when I got in the Senate doesn't get you any attention. Doesn't get anybody to write you. Doesn't get you to go viral on social media. Doing a giveaway of an AR-15 does. And so the media complaints, oh my goodness, why do Republicans have so many fruitcake candidates? Well, the answer is because you only cover the fruitcake candidates. If you want more of something, reward the good stuff. If you want less of something, stop rewarding the bad stuff. And yet the media is completely oblivious to this incentive structure they've created, which is crazy Republican candidates are interesting. And sometimes you get this from democratic candidate, but it's less so. I think they're more self aware of the fact of, oh, if we spotlight the nut job count, it's like otherwise Ilhan Omar would be front page news every day. Ilhan Omar is front page news regularly unlike Fox News dot com because Fox News enjoys spotlighting nut job candidates on the democratic side.

Highlights of Sunday's action in the NFL's Week 15
"Week 15, NFL roundup. I'm Ben Thomas, Sunday's action saw two more overtime games, but neither qualifies as the wildest finish of the weekend. That was in Las Vegas, with the Raiders beat the Patriots. Ryan lyong explains how. The Raiders scored on a crazy play as time expired to beat the Patriots 30 to 24 with three seconds remaining in the fourth quarter and the game tied the Patriots tried to extend a 23 yard run by ramonda Stevenson, but a second lateral by Jacoby Myers was fumbled and recovered by the Raiders Chandler Jones who ran it back 48 yards for the game winning touchdown. At first I was thinking who's around me. And I felt myself stumbled a little bit after the stiff arm. And that was thinking, who do I pitch it to that? I was just trying to, you know, keep the ball alive. It's when I stayed up, I just turned the jets on and the rest was history. Derek Carr was 20 of 38 for 231 yards and three touchdowns. The Bengals Buccaneers game in Tampa matched two division leaders led by two marquee quarterbacks, Tom Brady and Joe burrow. Early on, this was dominated by Brady and the bucks who jumped out to a 17 and nothing lead, but as Bengals wide receiver Tyler Boyd said, his team didn't panic and capitalized on four Tampa turnovers. When we create them, turn those, we got to go get them touchdowns, and not three. So I think the turning point was the offense rallying off the defense and making those turnovers into touchdowns. Boyd caught one of Joe burrow's four touchdown passes as the Bengals scored 34 consecutive points, cruising to a 34 23 win. Eric waddell, Tampa. Now one of the games that went to OT, Denny cap. The Jaguars overcome a 17 point second half deficit to stun the cowboys 40 34 and overtime. Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence through three of his four touchdowns in the second half, hitting receivers a Jones on three of those four scores. I think it says a lot about this team, how much we trust one another. Widely Patterson sent the game to overtime on a 48 yard field goal as time expired, that set up rayshawn Jenkins for the game winning pick 6 of dak Prescott as Jacksonville improved a 6 and 8 on the season, Noah Brown caught a pair of touchdowns for the cowboys who saw four game winning streaks now and fell to ten and four. I'm Denny cap. The cowboys have clinched a playoff spot, but there are lots of winning the NFC east have gotten longer with the eagles surviving a trip to a frigid soldier field in Chicago. I really couldn't feel my hands. Equals quarterback, Jalen hurts. Didn't really have good vision on the field. In some, I never play anything that cold. Still, final score eagles 25 bears 20. The other two teams in the NFC east still have a shot at a wild card. Craig heist has the outcome of the Giants trip to Washington. Rookie pass rusher kayvon thibodeau had a strip sack of Taylor heinicke and a recovery for a touchdown while saquon Barkley rushed for a touchdown in 87 yards as the Giants beat the commanders 20 to 12. Barkley and the Giants are inching closer to the playoffs. Big win for us and, you know, playing meaningful games here in December, you know, is where you want to be. Heineken through for a touchdown pass, but was also sacked three times. The Giants improved to 8 5 and one while the commanders fall to 7.6 in one. Craig heist land over Maryland. The lines and jets are both now 7 and 7, but one of them is feeling a lot better about it than the other, Mike mancuso was at this one. The Lions continued their playoff push with the 20 to 17 win over the jets, trailing 17 to 13 with one 49 remaining on a fourth and one Jared Goff hit tight end, Brock Wright, who rumbled 51 yards for the go ahead TD. I know we had it, knew the cutback would be there, and I just thought, run as fast as I can, getting that into. Jets quarterback, Zach Wilson, who threw for 317 yards, got the jets set up for a field goal of one second remaining, but Greg sirloin missed from 58 yards. Other finals, the chiefs survived a trip to Houston beating the Texans 30 to 24 in overtime. The Chargers topped the Titans 1714, the Steelers put a 24 16 pounding on the Panthers, the saints so with the falcons 21 18, while the wolf will Broncos be the spiraling Cardinals 24 15. Monday night the Los Angeles Rams play the packers and what should be a rather frigid Lambeau Field and possible snow. I'm Ben Thomas, AP sports

The Bible in a Year
Day 353 of The Bible in a Year: Husbands and Wives
"We're reading first Peter chapter three four and 5 first thessalonians, chapters one, two and three, as well as proverbs, chapter 30 versus 15 and 16. The first letter of Peter, chapter three wives and husbands. Likewise, U wives, be submissive to your husbands, so that some, though they do not obey the word, may be one without a word by the behavior of their wives when they see a reverent and chase behavior. Let not yours be the outward adorning with braiding of hair, decoration of gold and wearing of robes, but let it be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable jewel of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God's sight is very precious. So once the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves and were submissive to their husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him lord. And you are now her children if you do right and let nothing terrify you. Likewise, you husbands live considerately with your wives. Bestowing honor on the woman as the weaker sex, since you are joint heirs of the grace of life in order that your prayers may not be hindered. Suffering for doing right. Finally, all of you have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart, and a humble mind. Do not return evil for evil, or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, bless. For to this you have been called that you may obtain a blessing. For he that would love life and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile. Let him turn away from evil and do right. Let him seek peace and pursue it. For the eyes of the lord are upon the righteous and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the lord is against those that do evil. Now, who is there to harm you if you are zealous for what is right? But even if you do suffer for righteousness sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your heart's reverence Christ as lord. Always be prepared to make a defense to anyone who calls you to account for the hope that is in you. Yet do it with gentleness and reverence. And keep your conscience clear so that when you are abused, those who revile your good behavior and Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing right if that should be God's will than for doing wrong. For Christ also died for sins once for all. The righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit. went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly did not obey when God's patience waited in the days of Noah during the building of the ark, in which a few that is 8 persons were saved through water. Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body, but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God with angels, authorities, and powers subject to him.

Jaguars intercept Prescott, stun Cowboys 40-34 in OT
"The Jaguars overcome a 17 point second half deficit to stun the cowboys 40 34 and overtime. Jags quarterback Trevor Lawrence through three of his four touchdowns in the second half, hitting receivers a Jones on three of those four scores. Dallas has a great team. Really, really good team. The Relevance of Religion in Society
"So give me an example of a wisdom lesson you got from what Dickens and they could Dickens is great. I just like to know what it is. By the way, you can get a BA in English at UCLA without reading Shakespeare. Oh, God. It's a worse example. There's actually a worse. Oh, yes. You can now get a BA in classics. Oh, without you. Without knowing Greek or Latin. Yes. See, I think that, I mean, I love that line that God created doubt. Because I think that having the doubt makes us into stronger people, and one of the things about religion that I like is that it forces you to reconcile contradictions in your mind or be okay with contradictions. What that statement of my friends reveals is that they don't want to have to wrestle with uncertainty. They don't want to have to wrestle with contradictions. And religious people have to do that all the time. Look at look at the essence of Christianity. It's that God came into human form and suffered in order to save us from our sins. That's a contradiction. Wait, so God, as you like to say, what's the word incorporeal? Incorporeal. Yeah, that's what I said. You just heard me wrong. I pronounced it, right? Sean edited it out, edited out. She is messing with me. And I'm totally okay with it. Edit it out. Oh, he's not gonna end it out. Okay, that word, yes. So the contradiction is God doesn't exist in human form. Became physical. Or also, you know, why is God a good God, but yet he allows suffering. Even in the Bible, you see, there's contradiction in the first two or three stories. Noah is a righteous man and yet he has that terrible son lot.

The sophomore QB through 37 touchdown passes with only four interceptions, covering more than 4000 yards and leading the Trojans to an 11 and two record and a spot in the cotton bowl against tulane. On the 80s weather of the husband trophy, so it will change my life. I just don't exactly know how yet. Correspondent Michael luongo was that the army navy game. I think the 39 yard field goal in the second overtime to give army a 2017 win over navy. Hit a 37 yarder that tied the game with one 50 feet of play in the fourth quarter, his game when it came at the army had recovered on AV fumble at the best three yard line. College basketball and Alabama has become just the second team to beat a pair of number ones in the same season. Noah Clowney had 16 points and 11 rebounds as the 8th ranked tide knocked off Houston. 71 65 after trailing by 15 in the second half. It wasn't a matter of how much we knew when we started clicking. We had the chance and we wanted to give up to them. The warriors knocked off the Celtics as Ryan Leung reports. Klay Thompson and Stephen Curry combined his score 66 points. As the warriors ride out of the Celtics one 23, one O 7. Curry scored 32 points making 6 threes while Thompson had a game high 34 points when you face the best your game usually reflects that and you try to rise to the level of competition. And for such a long season, it's always really fun when you get to play the best teams. NHL and the lightning scored three straight goals in the third period to beat the Panthers four one Tampa Bay Steven stamkos had one of those three goals. Is there a period we know if we could stay 5 on 5? I like their game and you know fast you made the big saves when he had to certainly and capitalize on their chances in the third. Hey i want to just work through things before they even happen. And then lastly it's like a gym for your brain. There's gyms for physical health. This is kind of one for mental health. Why not to partout. Here's some of the changes that i've made from going to therapy. Maybe you can relate to as well so one looking at work differently. I one of the therapists. That was really interesting. Was asking the why of what i'm doing and really embracing that and so i'm making videos for you. Sexy bastards out there sharing them with the world and he kept poking at. He's like why are you doing. Why does it matter and one. You could psych yourself out of anything but i thought it was really helpful that he is really helping me. Get to the point of like. Why would make videos. Because i love to see people like you. Underdogs make results and changes for yourself. That really fulfils me. And so i think him asking that is helping forge my belief in what i'm really working on so that was really huge too was evaluating might drinking and drug usage. Even playing chess talked about a little bit about. Maybe why you go to therapy. But i noticed at times. I was escaping feeling as escaping. If i go onto my chest stuff. And i'm just starting to do it or if i'm drinking and the therapist just not telling you what to do. I think a great therapist doesn't tell you what to do. These reflect how you're behaving in saying. Maybe that's something you want to work on but there are kind of encouraging me to just be okay with the feeling in notice what you wanna do. When you're feeling that one of their said before that was really interesting is like. Who is noah kagan. If he's not interesting. I was like what the fuck so sometimes you know what it means that. There's something powerful about that insight. You're saying like you're not interesting if you're just yourself who are you. Are you okay with that. I like that. He said that three for me was slowing down or aka the opposite of the microwave light. May we can put a microwave here. You're so what am i gonna hit the button boom cook. It comes out ready to eat. That's again about the tv aspect. I think television characters. Feel more familiar and feel more like that. Must be who you are. I'm seeing you every week. And i'm seeing you go through all these different stories. It's gotta be who you really are. There was a point when i thought okay. If i'm not playing straight characters. My career is going to end up stalling. Like i'll just to the point where they've run out of gay characters and there's nothing left for you to do but fortunately that's sort of not being the case like i feel like with time gang care. Does it become more central and a normalized in television. And so i keep working infrequent. Yeah there's more quantity. Yeah so it's been a it's it's going to get. I think that i again two thousand twelve. I did a show called. Dcla and the noah's ark movie came out in two thousand eight so four years later i was still trying to break free of the noah sort of i'm gonna call a stink or stench but the no Image in casting. I decided okay. I'm going to be dead now. I'm going to do something else app. If i can't do anything but remind people of the show noah's ark from two thousand five then maybe and you know. We shot the reunion in the summer. Like two months before ibooks be positive so it was. It was very much like okay. Noah's ark it keeps coming back and they were talks about reunions in and reboots every couple of years. Somebody like let's do a reboot. It's a reunion ship. And then nothing would materialize. It was only during the coded pandemic stale ass at home order. Do that could actually be pulled off. Because we were all sitting at home doing nothing and then i feel like that was the the final chapter. I feel like that reunion was really hit. I show built entirely around black gay men and of equal importance now. Fifteen sixteen years later. It remains the only show to ever do that. No others have come close to replicating. Its which i think needs to be said. We celebrate it as the first so today. Talk about that about how noah's.

"That's also something that's been that's been liberating are. It was like i remember when i met. I met a young kid. Maybe like twelve years old with his mom. And i think i was in queens or somewhere and he bumped into me in the street and he's like hey man are you. Trevor noah was like yeah and he recognized me even though i had my mosque on and he said oh man. I'm such a big fan of most. He loves your show. And i let him watch it. Even though it's eight and you know he loves the loves politics that loves this and then he said man. It's so cool that like you do in late night and you do in the show and like talk an obama and then we've all got afros and this kid little effort was well you know he was just so happy and his mom said to me. She was like yeah man. She's like he was so happy. When you grew africa's he couldn't cut his hand. You couldn't cut your hair and now here you both were in this world with afros and i didn't realize how long it had been since i love myself to grow my hair because for so long i'd also adopted the ideas realizing of what professional hair looks like. Well that's nice. But when are you going to look respectable. Trevor when are you gonna go back to business hair. What is business hair. What does that mean. And so i even had to question mount conditioning to understand these things you know does. Does this determine what conversation i can and cannot have with you know for so for so many conversations in america and in many parts of the world why a person is treated the way they are is often down to how they addressed. Why did cops do that to him. While he was wearing a hoodie you never know with a hoodie. And it's like the hoodie. And so i don't know maybe there's a part of me. That defiantly goes yeah. You know what. I i want to interview the president of the united states wearing a hoodie. You know. I want to talk to leaders. I wanna talk to business executives. I wanna talk to the most powerful people wearing a hoodie because a lot of people out there who these and a lot of those people are judged because they wear hoodies highway hoodies. And so i go. You know what little hoodie being a space. Where doesn't necessarily be long until it does nip the hair be in space. That doesn't belong until the does and that became something that i thought of doing because i was just like yemen. This is who i am. I was like if you don't accept me for who i am then. I don't want you to accept me. And so that's been really liberating journey to be on as a human being. And i think the pandemic stripped a lot of people of that pump and ceremony. You know we're at home in sweats. Compu- fancy. I know how you live now. I see the trash behind. You and i think that's a good thing. I think it's a little bit of society that's been you know. A little bit of the sheen on the varnish has been taken off we see each other a little bit more for better and for worse and so for myself. I don't know that. I'll go back to the suits and the leather shoes. And if i do. I do and if i don't i don't but i will no longer think that this is something i have to do. You know this is not a. This is not a measure of professionalism. I can do my job regardless of how you see me. I can do it. And so s. Going back to the studio. I mean you know i. I have a few surprises my sleeve as to what that looks like. You know. i'm working on a few things with the team. And we really excited. Because i want it to be intentional. You know voice people. Everyone goes like when are you going back. Are you going back. Where are you going back. And said i'm never going back. I'm only moving forward when i was doing it. Man i remember coming out in this purple jacket with ripped jeans and they called an organization called maggot. I think the organization was called and they did focus groups to show me that america didn't want me and ripped jeans. You know. I remember how important that was. How has the daily show been for you. As far as controlling you or approving or disapproving. How how they dealt with you during this pandemic well. The great thing is there is no the daily show myself and my team. There is no overlord in that regard. There's nobody who who looks over us. Editorially or no you know. We have a fact checker to make sure that. What we're saying is factually correct. You know ironically with a comedy show that has a fact checker and then there's so many new shows that just say whatever they want but yeah we do. We have a fact checker. And that's the main thing we focus on. I'm still trying to make sure that represents who i am. And so you know send you you know me. I'm pretty certain when you watch the show. You're like yeah. This is trevor. He's performing but this is trevor. You don't like who is this guy. It's pretty much me. And so i've been really lucky that the that comedy central has gone. No we trust you go ahead. We trust you do it. You know so. They don't go dress like this. Don't dress like that your hair. You know. They just go. We trust you do this thing. And due to the best of your ability and so what that has enabled me to do is succeed by my own sword or die by my own sword and that's been liberating and frightening at the same time and i love it. I was passing him all the other day. And i had a strange memory. I looked up at this building. And it said sears. When i was little those building say sears and roebuck because those two names were locked together. You couldn't have one without the other. You've mentioned your executive producer a couple times. How important is that team. My team helps me to not make the wrong decisions. I think that's what a great team is. Also helping you do. I don't think every decision i have is correct and thankfully my team. Sometimes be like whoa. That's completely wrong. I'm like You think so that terrible like okay you know. I'm not going to be perfect every single day. No do i wish to be. And that's what's nice about. Having a team is that we trust each other and trying to do something together to you and your ep argue disagree and when you disagree how do you decide what goes on the air gentleman's flange tonight we don't argue that much so as the showrunner and surprisingly we have very similar taste. I heard the same joke where we go making the show for people rights. And she's like yeah we make him the show for people and that's how much we're making the show for people. Sometimes i have a few writers or to politics. You know they get too deep into the politics they forget that making the show for the people but they're super smart and the great and i go like what were we gonna bring that back a little bit you know. Some of my rights is only wanna tell jokes. they don't want to go into anything deep. And that's fine as well. Let's let's add a bit of brevity into this thing and let's have a conversation but in terms of with myself and jen. I'm very lucky that we. I think that's why we work. Well together is we. We both love to love. We both love to have meaningful conversations and we both like to create a good show. You know. don't want you to watch the daily show every day thinking that oh old. Black people are suffering every day. And there's no other existence for a black person illman..

"Priority because earth is our priority at fedex. We knew sustainability. Means a lot to you and we feel the same way. Our goal is to be carbon neutral by twenty forty. We call it priority earth fedex. Were now meets next. You know your show to a fan. Your show is kind of like friends. You have this family this group of friends you know you have joey and rachel you do say jordan. I knew roy because he's a standup dizzy. Ronnie mike talk about your team. Your little comedy family your correspondents. That's something that the daily show does very well. Not every late night hosts has that family of friends. Oh yeah that's that's one of the things that i loved and i adopted from john stewart. You know that was the the relationship that you can create with people who have differing points of views and the ability to showcase different points of views or ideas on your show. You know i myself. As trevor was a contributor i came on the show and i would contribute my opinion to the daily show and john stewart would be as my foil and so one thing i loved was that relationship and so i wanted to continuously create that and so you know that that that that was the team and and so. We've had new additions to the team. But roy has been there from the very beginning from day one. I remember watching comedy. And i was called roy out like come on out to new york for an audition and he came out on the night before he was doing a set of the comedy cellar and i went to watch him and immediately after the. You've got the job and he's like but i'm gonna come to the addition to ours. Yeah you'll come with you got the job. Same thing happened with michael kosta. I went out to. La is him performing us guys. Got the job. And that was one of those instances where with michael costa executive producer. Jeff who was like this guy special house like is he though. She's like this guy special man he's got something and i happened to be in la. And so i went to the comedy clubs to watch him. He didn't even know i was there. I was like all right. This guy's got it. let's go you know. And so all of these people have been interesting in the way we come to meet them. How i come to know them as human beings ronnie chang. I met in edinburgh scotland doing a comedy festival. That's how i met. Ronnie chang. And i was like. This dude is one of the craziest funny people i've ever met. And i remember saint-german scotland. When i don't know how but one day i hope i get to work with you and so let me get your number. And let's see the world takes us. And then i think two or three years later he got a call from me saying yo. Do you wanna try something crazy. And then ronnie did and he joined the show and so the journey has been wonderful. You know dessi lighted who's just become like one of my bulwarks. On the shows which i know she can smash anything she. She's one of the most talented performers and actresses. I've ever come across. You know dul say one of the smartest people fluent in spanish all of the people on the show have the about them. There's a different element that they used to touch the show with. And i really appreciate that. Because i think it makes the show a little bit more dynamic in that. It's not always trevor. Just telling you what he thinks or how he sees the world. I've got all of these correspondents and my team. And my family as you say where they can also give an opinion and we can have a fight as friends and we can talk about what we were experiencing in the world. Does your correspondents. Because i know a stand up i think yeah do they. All come in the writer's room. Do they participate in all that stuff. No they will. They will so. They'll they participate. Oftentimes they will be the the the originator of the idea or if it comes together we around. We'll have an idea and then they will go with writers and they will continuously punch it up and writes it for themselves. They'll create the thing that they will then end up putting on screen. And so i've. I've always been really focused on making sure that correspondents are comfortable with what they are portraying on scene because it's politics i don't want somebody going on screen and then just you know selling themselves down the river. No i want you to be confident in what you're saying and so you know. Even if you're playing an arch character played the way you'd like to play it. Let's get this thing going and let's let's let me give you the best possible platform in the same way that i was afforded. Here's something i've noticed as a comic and as a fan but first of all. Where are you sitting. Where is that if we turn the camera around. That's the corner of your apartment. What is that. Yeah this is. This is a corner little spot in my apartment where i had this place because i wanted to play video games here and then read books here and i was like. I want my little nook to do that. By tiny little space in new york was just like my little sanctuary and the pandemic hits. And then i was going around my apartment looking for places that didn't have an echo. Didn't have like just like sound like sirens bouncing of windows. Or you know what i mean. And then i was like oh i guess i guess i can give up like my little reading my little sanctuary Maybe it's partially. Because this is where i feel the safest this is where i feel cozy in my vibe and this is where i feel like it's me and you know that's all it is it's me and it's you there's nothing else that's happening here and and so. Yeah that's that's how this little spot came to be and it's tiny. It'll and it's cramped and i like it because it makes me go like no this is. This is the intimacy i'm looking for. You're gonna miss those hoodies when you have to go back go back. When do you put on the suit and the leather shoes and go back. I might never. I might never put on the suit over neither shoes or anything. I don't know you know that..
