"Short still just statements, Eric Ronkonkoma. Eric what's going on? Hey Tony you remember my reference that was good. Did you know he's talking about his swing might as well be playing fortnight if you know what I know the game but not not all of it. But yeah. That's right. That's right. You know, maybe if they just mentioned that as beer in the in the, the dugout dead that might get them to do better. Maybe but I listen, so I only want quite honestly, I really don't saw. I'm going to just by the Kevin Durant thing. But, you know. These people talking about it. You know, you should come to New York, the create his legacy, if he gets in the wind and everything. The one thing I don't understand about this. I mean to me, I'd rather to win ten championships with a team that I know is gonna win. Right. Then go off and, and try to do something that there's no guarantees at all, quite honestly. I mean, you know, you don't see Bill check and Tom Brady going off to try to rebuild. You know, another team on air. What? He takes less money to stay there. Now he does have the luxury of being married to a supermodel, right? But still, you know, he does what he does to and able the team to get better, and they win. No one's going to say, well, well, you know, he was in the perfect system for him. Well, you know what he's one of the greatest quarterback time. Yeah. I mean. Bill russell. And all those those of you know, Celtic teams they couldn't leave back in different different time. But what they'll buddy Bill? Russell wasn't that good because he had a whole bunch of good players around him. Nobody says Barkley wasn't that good. Because you don't wanna championship you legacy is your legacy. It's not going to be asked to this because you went to a team and you won once happy there. Quite honestly, if that were the case. One of those two have appeased the last couple of years. Yeah, I if he was truly just a, a piece of the puzzle. So. They need them. But I mean, that, you know, just yes that winning what Adam at the mall, they won before he got the they would, like probably win if he left, but I, I don't think it diminishes it him at all if he chose to stay there. I mean, how deep in town today on how many teams could lose somebody like Durant onto the you know, we saw an app win. Join the left the bulls ago play baseball. But what if you had some injury while he was still playing, you know, who's their go to guy v? Good ballplayer. But hey, Michael Jordan. Right. And that's the one sport where you have, you know. The small group of players on there with that one person does make the difference. You know it's not even like the with the quarterback when Brady was out with the injury. He had a couple of people fill in the one thirteen games, kind of thing. But it's still just goes to show how how well the system is on himself. You know, I I wouldn't blame him one bit if he if he chose to stay there. I mean it wouldn't talk me at all. I mean it's like you do I stay with unless it was one of those things like him in another player were fighting all the time. I mean, coming physically, I don't need this. I don't need his go somewhere else. But if I you know with the best with the best team in the league and I want to leave that to, to the go to some other team to try and become a good team. And what was the narrative during the off season? Who was going to be in the finals, most likely Golden State. Right. I mean, everyone knew that for the most part during the off season, you know, in the last number of years. Yeah. Think that's really going to change. I mean so that's you know, like I said, if it were made me firstly. I'd stay there, always say, if we're the, the option so good rest of data. Tony. All right now. I mean. Always say it's two thing that a constant you wanna win and you wanna get paid goals. Eight give the most money of anybody else. And yet chance win the championship. Now he may not play the rest of the year. I mean arrested a series I, maybe he doesn't maybe he's trying to get them ready for game four. But I, I don't think he's going to be ready. I think the calf injuries a lot more serious and most calf injuries don't heal in like, you know, a week it takes a while along while hopefully dollars. Isn't that bad at all? So he's back Nathan in great neck, Nathan, what's going on. Good morning. Bad. How are you? Good. Good. So I want to move around here. So I if baseball nice to work for a like an icon and I will tell you that the game is changed so much for the worst. I mean, it's almost like tennis everything has gone. Everything was basketball. Everything's like high scoring fast. Skillset nicotine stained together, pictures going fortified innings, and you're taking them out. I mean, the Maryland, the Yankees and the Orioles, great great, you know, games for each other now it's he ganked. He's are so well run with Cashman people don't even realize death form system could be most major league teams as we as receiving right now. Heels are depleted and it all comes down. He's Angeles Dolan. When you're in that situation, not gonna win except simple. He, he literally both the Orioles to enhance his law firm, so be national offer not a local law firm, and so moving forward, the oil to take him, five years. It's not going to three years. Maybe three or four major league players, they're going to get rid of them. So they never have agencies trade them for build their farm system on that regarding basketball. I really feel like Durant will leave. I'll tell you why he say right now. That I will say this fairness him the league is watered down. I mean that's why they're able to these teams in Toronto Milwaukee their teams, but they're not they're nowhere close. We think he's coming to York. The other issue Donny Donnie Walsh. Dan, Tony were there. Everything was heading in the right direction. They're waiting for courage contract to expire the playoffs. Feel and what happened next. I don't know this, but Dolan stepped in to make that trade for Carmelo Anthony helium and did not tell either guy and not ary is Tony godson. There was a final straw between between Tony Walsh and, and Dolan, then Dolan, did the right thing. He brought in well, supposedly, he brought it Phil Jackson man. Don't stock. Oh, did we lose them? He took care of his own guy in Fisher and, and it said five years of complete waste. And now I really still don't believe these guys down southern they're not the answer. Durant worth this bed. This is what I would say after ANSA Dolan you sell this team fifty one percent. I'll come they're bring in whatever else you know, they need to win. He would go pee comes in there. They're not winning just with Durant. No. G league team right now and it's a living as bad knees. He's not happy guy, getting older people realize. It's not like he's twenty seventy thirty two thirty three. I mean us around thirty five thirty six I don't I don't say it. So in that regard. I could see them maybe staying but. And somebody like to buy Harris. He's a piece of puzzle has so many good options. He should stay in Philly. He's a good piece, but he's not. No. Max sky now. You're you're he's a. You know, they come like signed Kemba Walker him. It's like okay it's, it's not what you want, and Durant. He turns thirty one the end of temper. But again, how many years have you got to waste Wayne for team to rebuild itself? Let's go to Anthony mom Marlboro, candy, what's going on? Good morning, Tony boy. If you weren't awake before that call you're awake now. That was a great call gentleman. Great point about baseball in the Yankees and our form system. Good Lord Tony. It's hard to believe, you know, quickly on the Knicks. What was it twenty five years ago, ready Tony, my getting that old? I'm in my late forty nine hundred ninety four spring net summer with the Nixon Rangers without a good time. And that was basketball, and I think for anybody who didn't experience that. And we always hear people, you know, in her sixties and seventies talk about, you know, previous times, you know, before mine, but that was a great time in New York City for Nixon Rangers. How crazy was that, Tony back those teams amazing the place? Just hang out to the Nixon, the Rangers playoff that was. That was good time, you know, Tony few minutes on a few minutes on the Mets in on hang. Thanks for. Taking a call on the only thing consistent with the Mets Tony is their inconsistency. And this is what you have you have a lot of what if with this team, you know what if cesspit was healthy, and he was in front of or behind Alonzo. You know what if this pitching staff was really reaching its potential? You know what's canal came in and gave you an eighty percent. Eighty five percent connote at we know you know, when you have all these what it's Tony team that's gonna lose three to the Marlins. Then come in sweep the nets and impossibly lose to attitude today to Tigers. You know, and unfortunately, Tony as much as I want to believe in his team and have some fun this year. This is a team that typically I write off every year since World Series year in the following year when I write him off fourth of July. I hate to do it. You know if they didn't sweep the nets have been writing them off Memorial Day weekend. And I guess my question to you. Tony's wear is the fault in this team. Is it really the management? Is it really the player that just comes in and underachieved here, here's where I leave, you Phillies put some, some money back into their team? They're thirty one. What are they now thirty one in twenty or thirty one and twenty three? You know the the. The, the, the Braves improved a bit twenty nine and twenty three and here the next couple of games under five hundred. Thank you know, you you're right. It's again everybody. Excited me, I thought Calloway gone by Monday then a sweep then he loses a tiger. And he got the dodgers coming up next on the road. It it's you know it could still be ugly. But again when you get to get a game, oh, five hundred let me know and so funny, come back and wrap up the.

"Do the light nightly sports cast on. W. N B, C TV in New York and listening to the Nixon Rangers Cooper, Leonard thirty five points last night. He's averaging thirty point four points per game and eight point four rebounds per game. This postseason. He would be the fifth player to have an average of thirty more points in eight or more rebounds in a single postseason with a minimum of fifteen games, which obviously, he's going to reach, if he is figure this out my head it looks like he would reach that he advances out of these finals or he might he's already there. Anyway. He would be the fifth player to average such. The others are named allies Yuan Akeem did at one shot did it twice about that. Corinne did it twice? You know, we did it four times. Lebron James round Jan. How many times we've mentioned LeBron's name in terms of absurd playoff numbers? Everyone loves the car bottom. He's a great player. Please. Do you miss him in the playoffs? Yeah, I do. I wonder if he misses the playoffs. I thought he does. I'm sure he's enjoying the rest. It's gotta be nice. I know. But. And you could see on, on Twitter, he will give shoutouts about. He's great moments watching. I wonder what he's thinking right now but any rate, not to go down that that road. We already did that many times this week. Kawai also had a career high nine assists, every assists for three pointer. It's how about that. Twenty seven points off of his nine they were shooting great last night, vanfleet at seven by himself. He was awesome. Jeez. Our poll question is brought to you by truecar when it comes to selling or trading in your car, you need to make good choices in with truecar. You've got a star on your roster. So when you're ready to sell.

"Amy, thank you for joining us on the Bloomberg business of sports show. Thank you for having me today. So the garden obviously home to both the Boston Celtics and the Boston Bruins, two of I would imagine to the more successful franchises, we've seen in the past twenty years in both sports. Do you just block out all of may, as I'm working? I'm putting my head down this entire month every year. Yes. So actually April through June because we're to team building. And this year there were only two team only two arenas in the country that had both teams in the playoffs. And denver. So we me. Not New York. Sorry. Sorry. All our Nixon ranger fans. Yeah, I it sorry, I'm not doing bad right now. But so we have to be very careful about if we take on we did. We did have share on a Sunday night. And the way things were coming out that could have been a game for us. And we knew when we book that show that we might have to move it, but we don't take a lot of risks having to teams. As you said that have been so successful, we have to be really careful about calendar. Sports fans realize their arenas out there that have to team sometimes in the playoffs scheduling can be hard. I don't think they realize how hard it is talk to me about may third and may fourth may third looking at the calendar here seven AM. You guys had northeastern graduation and that night, the Celtics played a playoff game and the following day. Saturday may fourth the Bruins and the blue jackets played game three. How do those three events within a essentially a twenty four hour span? How do you manage to put all those things together? Even worse. I'll tell you last year we had the Celtics playoff game on Thursday night. Northeastern graduation Friday morning and Bruins Friday night, even closer proximity. So I think we have the most amazing operations team in bulk gain the country because we are such a busy building. And, you know, we're, we've had some we've done this before we figure out how to quickly turn it around. I'll tell you from the graduation standpoint it's actually easier for us to go to hockey than it is to basketball, but they worked through the logistics and, you know the leagues. Understand the leagues and certainly an early rounds. I wouldn't say the ton of flexibility, but the two leagues work really well together to look to make sure they're not crossing over on dates as well. So it is it's, it's a triage, right? It's our team. We have a VP of events scheduling, that's all he does is deal with the leaf and, and working out these dates and times. And it's being logistically really found how much does it cost to go from basketball to, to hockey rink in terms of the labor and everything else that's needed here comes the union? And it depends right? If you have to do an overnight, or if you have the day. So, and it depends if the holiday doing Sunday to Monday a holiday weekend. So the cost vary, but it's, you know, it's tens of thousands of dollars to change over and to change overtakes about two and a half hours. So we have doubleheaders during the day after thanksgiving. We always have a double header. We usually have the Bruins at noon and the Celtics and seven thirty. We came, we pray for no overtime pay for regulation win, everyone prays. They standing there on the sides waiting for the game. And then quickly go into to turn it over a floor. I always loved floor as the most market miserable court in probably in the NBA. But when you have a situation like that where you have to put it on top of the ice for Bruins game, I've always wondered how come the ice did melt, if you have to do it that way. Imagine below the ice. It's cement, and there's all these types of the coolant through it. And that's what keeps the ice cold is actually not very thick. Then for when you had a parquet, you actually put this black sub Florida. So we keep the ice in all year. If we have a concert, we put the black sub floor down, and then put the chairs and the stays on top. When you go to Parque. It goes. I sub floor and then Parkway and it and it stays cold, and then we take it up, and then we flood it and clean it and get it ready for the hockey game. We prefer the doubleheaders to go hockey then basketball, it's just easier ice quality. You know makes makes it a better spirit. We are chatting with Amy ladder, president of TD garden, by the way UK, if I slip and call it fleet center or the garden. The sponsors aren't. But you understand. Right. Well, when I started it was Shawmut and then before the building opened at flip flip to fleet center. And so we've had a number of name changes. I think what's been great as it TD recognized that the garden should be back in the name. Right. 'cause we were TD Bank north. But now to be the TD garden. So, you know, gardens should be in our name, and, and I appreciate the TD to death. But sometimes people drop the TD we, we, we try to keep it in there do have are you calling it a transformation because that's what we had at Madison Square Garden. I had the other day, by the way with Hank Ratner who was the CEO of MSG when he ran for saw that transformation. I gotta tell you. He was not the same man when that was over when it began that, that is a very difficult thing to talk about having no wiggle room. What are you looking at? There's a totally different renovation than are so. So now we're doing one hundred million dollar renovation because hundred thirty total because of the development, we're actually expanding the building. So most people build new or they renovate. But we're taking the building out, fifty five thousand square feet in total on. Six different levels, and, and just, you know everything from new locker rooms to were putting what I think is going to be one of the coolest clubs in the country on the top level of the building. We're actually hanging over the edge of that top level and making a club that is I would say for the younger generation. It's open not that a catered CD, you know, food, that's, that's the only place in the building that you can get it craft beers at the really totally different environment and then down through the rest of the building. We're doing things. Our lend was one of the things that maybe we need it to do over the last twenty three years. What do we need today? And what are we building for the future? So everything from restrooms, single use rooms to more food and beverage to communal places for people to gather. It's just it's fascinating so exciting. We're speaking.

But we're taking the building out, fifty five thousand square feet in total on six different levels, and, and just, you know everything from new locker rooms to were putting what I think is going to be one of the coolest clubs in the country on the top level of the building. We're actually hanging over the edge of that top level and making a club that is, I would say for the younger generation, it's open, not dedicated CD, you know, food, that's, that's the only place in the building that you can get it craft beers really totally different environment and then down through the rest of the building. We're doing things our lend was, you know, what are the things that maybe we needed to do over the last twenty three years, what do we need today? And what are we building for the future? So it's everything from restaurants single. Use runs to more food and beverage to communal places for people to gather. It's just it's fast. It's.

"The Nixon Rangers off seasons. No Real Madrid. Couldn't possibly play anywhere else. It just wouldn't work. I wonder. Yeah. The other thing by the way, if we were designing stadium bathrooms. That's huge can't have people like 'cause everyone pretty much has to go to the bathroom at the same time. It's not like the NFL. There's a time out. I can run real quick. Everybody's going to have time. That's it. There's no stoppages you need to have gotta have a lot. So everyone can bang get and get out that would be important for me. Lots about them into some stadiums. Like relatively new ones like MetLife. And I'm like why is there a cue? Yeah. I mean, look some of its own avoidable. There shouldn't be acute. We haven't talked about the game. It was a good win for Spurs. They desperately need it their first win since mid February while and it puts them back temporarily into third arsenal. Do have a game at hand. Therefore, Spurs are one point ahead. The two are tied on goal difference. But you know, it's. This is important Tottenham still have to go to Manchester City, but aside from that, they got a lot of home games in this new place against opponents that you would consider to be winnable opponents. I don't know always what that means late in the season. We just saw United lose to wolves. I saw Tottenham lose to Southampton couple of weeks ago. So who knows it's hard to look at the schedule. But it's this was important for them to get that win today. JJ we continue Chelsea and Brighton Callum Hudson. Doi gets the start nice assist on the first goal to Libya. "Bank studio. Jio on fan across the country on CBS sports network. So as a few weeks ago, maybe even a month or so or two guy called up said he went to a Knicks game. And then he saw James Dolan. The next game got within shouting distance of the Nixon Rangers owner and said sell the teams, and then Jim Dolan pointed to his security guard the security guard escort him out and said he was banned from Madison Square Garden for life, and our reaction at that point was I'm not saying that you're lying. That's your side of the story. I don't know. That's your experience. We heard you out then comes over the weekend. Video I believe TMZ had it I at least the video that I watched had the watermark of TMZ on it. Jim Dolan going out of the tunnel from the arena. Fan. Yells sell the team catches his attention. Looks up starts to talk to him goes. Oh, you want me to sell the team? Well, that's rude. And the audio is not great. That's why we're not playing it because that's rude. How would you like to watch them on television? Then he's like, why goes, that's that's my opinion. It's not your opinion, that's rude. And then he points to the security guard behind him points at the guy, then gives them some is in a head nod baiser like that and the security guard save him for Kevin save him pretended. And I'm figuring Kevin's the big bed as security guard deals with Jim Dolan. So I'm presuming Kevin got him and banned for life. Because Jim Dolan said you're gonna watch them on television. From our Kevin is a guy that pay your name, and your picture ID and everything else and make sure puts it in a system. So you don't get back into MSG absolutely mirrored the story that the guy told us on the air. But by the way, you know, the Knicks I know they're losing. And I know they lost the game over the weekend. But at the end of the day, this is what they're supposed to be doing right now they have to lose. And I will also say this about Jim Dolan. Jim Dolan has spent. I don't know how much freaking money trying to get this thing. Right. The problem is always picks the wrong people to run the team. I would like to think that this current group right now with Steve mills, Scott Perry and David physical may be the right group to run the team. But they're doing what they need to do. Right now. They've they've shed salary. They're losing their leading let young players play now in the off season. If they don't attract the free agents that you know, I think the knick fan is expecting them to attract then we're going to have some problems, especially if they don't get the first or second overall pick the twin talked a million times about Jim Dolan as the owner back and forth. Like, I don't even want to make this story and entry point to a referendum on his as an owner. It's more to me Kim being that sensitive still to this day after decades of criticism that leaving the arena one guy saying sell the team. He's now got to a jet that guy who is still going to games, by the way. Yes, you know, what I'm saying? I'm still your customer, right? And then he's got a history of this. Obviously, not only from the caller that we had but being very sensitive with fans at our critic. I would say if they were curse words or something like that involved in the cell. The team discussion short then I would say yes ban the guy for life. But for I saw the video, and I saw what the guy said, you know, it's it's unfortunate that you're going to get that. That's just the way it is. Your team has been losing. You've been the owner. You have tried to spend a gazillion dollars to make this thing. Right. And it hasn't been right because of the people that you've selected I get all that. But at the end of the day, you just got to walk away. You just got to walk away and just got to move on. And just go play with the band and don't worry about it. Imagine if he was caught on video doing something. Nice or not reacting that way, I mean that would be great. But for him. This is the worst possible. The frustrating thing for him is that he and his family. Underrated underwrite a lot of things out there within our communities that we don't see. Okay. And they don't take a lot of credit for which is fine. And that's not that's part of the ownership that's part of the expectation of being an owner and being a billionaire is giving back to less fortunate. And he's done that this. Unfortunately, if you if this thing can kind of get out of whack it could really like something like this could could you imagine if you had now sixteen thousand or nineteen thousand fans at the next game all screaming Selva team while. Yeah. Now what happens now you've now you've created a firestorm? I don't like he did with Charles Oakley. Yes. I mean, this it's a it's a major problem in the fact that he still does not have the control to handle these situations in a different manner is a big problem. And this is why I think guys like it's not just him. There's guys like him who have a lot of money who have a lot of power that surround themselves with a bunch of people that don't correct them. And there's not guardrails on. I don't know if anybody's going Jim Dolan the way those security guards like snapped into action here Bobo, somebody needs to be the voice of reason his life and say, hey, Jim, maybe we don't ban this guy. Maybe just sent him a hat or something, you know, the security yards just doing their jobs. Yeah. I know. But my point is that they they snap into action over his is in a head nod like that is incredible power. Like, there's only there's probably like a few people in the world that can get people to act exactly the way they want with EDNA a head non IRA, or what did I say about two weeks ago in regards to Jim Dolan? I don't remember. Why do remember why the hell would you go through this? Yes. Why would you want to do this? I mean seriously. And then the guy's essentially saying the fan is yelling down to Jim Dolan. Go. Get four billion dollars is basically what he's saying. He didn't say that. He said Selva team, basically when he would get right. Four billion. Oh, yeah. That's rude. I don't know if he get four billion. But I do know this that maybe one of the suitors for him would have been Jeff Bezos. But they just bought. Yes. Network along with the AKIs. Yeah. I know for five hundred million dollars less than they sold it. It's unbelievable. Do you have the power like within your world to get somebody to do something gist with a head nod or is like, for example, let's say you're somewhere at the ranger game. You've had season tickets for a long time, you know, the security guards, you know, the people around you they want to take care of your great customer respectful fan. Let's say that there's a guide belligerent guy sitting around you that has happened. Could you get that person removed just with the head nun? Now, I can look at it. I can look at the security guard and just I could like just look at them and kind of look back to the guy that screaming using. Just bad language and the security guard will walk over and say, hey, calm down that has happened. That is amazing. But look, but any any of those other season ticket holders around like he do the same thing. That's the thing. I don't know though, you stand out. Yeah. Well, but I'm just saying most of the most of the security people over there. Most of the the greeters the people that are up and down the aisles, they know everybody. They know who everybody is one. There's somebody that is acting a little bit off. Right. They'll know and they'll remove that guy. If that guy will not come down or gal for that matter. I've actually seen two gals get into it. Yeah. Yeah. I wonder is there any place like maybe painters the restaurant. We talk about in bar that I go to all the time. Maybe that's the one place that I could do the head nod. Maybe guy out of here. He's over there bothering you trying to have dinner with your family or something. Yeah. It just like look at the guy. And then look give them a little head nod like out of here, get kicked out. I mean to be able to have that power. Just all man makes you feel great doesn't it Charlie? A New Jersey, Charlie. What's happening, brother? Hey. Good morning guys. Just one little nuance. I wanna throw into this discussion around Dolan. You know, the the garden is a publicly held company. It's not a sole ownership by the donor family anymore. So, you know, if you're a shareholder, you could buy you buy chairs one share you have the right to speak up at various points. Just like analysts can criticize the running of the garden. So he has got to have a thicker skin from his fiduciary role as running the garden is a public entity. Sure, I mean, I think the thicker skin thing you can just stop right there. I mean when you're a guy who's in the public life like that. I mean, forget about the publicly traded company. People aren't going to think like that either. Like Jim Dolan to go through that whole thought process in his head and say, well, this person has the right to do that. I mean, he he believes he's very sensitive to the fact that everybody who shows up to his building basically Knicks fans don't like him because the team stunk. That that's basically what he's very sensitive to and you can't be sensitive to that. If you're Jim Dolan. I'm sorry. You maybe a publicly traded company, but he is the face of that publicly traded company. Sure. And he is the guy that's basically going to hear though, the the negative reaction for the fans. I I thought Charles Oakley a few years ago. It was out of line. I thought he was completely out of line. I sided with Jim Dolan on that one on this one. I side with the fam- as long as the fan is not yelling obscenities. I'm okay with it. Sure. Yeah. I mean, I think that once and we've said this before now that would need to go down that whole story again. But the the tower that he did like the Jim Dolan media toward a tear down. Charles Oakley afterwards is the thing. I didn't like at all, you know, this this one there's no excuse for that. I mean for him snap like that doing go right up to the guy. We can't even imagine. He's probably thinking about that too. You could just tell you can really get a peek into what bothers him the most just by. That short snippet and the stories that you've heard before. Team thing. I'm really sure though, if he's ever outside on the street or walking out of the garden, or whatever I'm sure he hears it outside to jury hears that everywhere sandy last year last week a couple of weeks ago, I make that much money and you're worth that much. You love playing in your band, and you love going around and being around with the eagles. And all that is not why not just do that you like to hang out with the eagle..

"On the back of the jersey, but he has to put it on and Bernie and stayed somewhere on the front. Whole Bernie and said sit tight you just text Mitch this was last night last night making this I needed done by six o'clock tonight. Because I'm going to be back here at the Gordon at six to meet Pete Morgan for dinner. They dropped the puck about seven Devon ever have any qualms about snoring. Like that. What do you mean by that? Is it ever? Does it ever? Do you ever say? Well, maybe is it's just a little too much the ever never occurred to you. That's a text the guy at six o'clock last night and say you need in twenty four need a jersey with my name on it. Dammit. Does it ever caused you any pause? No, no, no. As he going to have it ready. Well, he hasn't gotten back to me. And I'm getting aggravated see when I made. No, he thought he thought who's this guy? I think he's done. Maybe maybe he'd thought the, you know, the two thousand dollar Yankee seats that he gives me and my family five times a summer, and the countless jerseys in my closet. Maybe it's enough. That's what I'm saying or to his house and alpine massages, but Russ salzberg did he beat enough that it just occurred to you? Now as I said it or did occur to you before. I think it's no I don't feel badly asking it all. Well, listen, Mitch. Let's get this done. Right. There you go. Thank you. And by the way, it's I asked for Bernie and sit on the front is about you to listen. I appreciate the sentiment. This is not about that. You just call me a snarl range of saying, we love you. They love you you want. You don't know how big you wall range offense. And I am a ranger fan. I listening Long Beach. I grew up listening to Marv Albert all the ranger games on W NBC radio. You know, what's the best about daddy would go skating on the sixth avenue side? I love when he did that. I don't know why. But those little things and he does is with basketball till but more somebody's sports participating something. Like that got me. I don't know why. But it was found to be very cool. Yeah. No. It was great. I mean, look there's nothing better. But I remember listening in my room. Oh to both Nixon ranger games. Ninety four and the Rangers have won the Stanley Cup. Something. Oh, come on betterman. Well Modell is a gun back to me. So I have to like an old Brian Leetch jersey with a mustard stain. The guy. I got I got a messy jersey. This makes no sense. Got a Messier jersey that Roger bear signed that is that doesn't make sense. Then I'm not sure who was stronger that night meals. You'll pay. I know you've met Raja bear down at the garden. I I met him at not only the garden, but at some golf outing. He's he likes the throwback. He'll he'll have a pop with you or three. Yes. I mean that cart it looks like the bar cart. No his own personal car. I'm what's great about him. Is he's a hall of fame in one of the greatest Rangers of all time. And what you're talking about. What you see him? He was like that on the ice. You've gotta love I love that guy that's old school. That's the kind of guy. That's that's my kind of guy. Well, a couple of days ago. I forget what day exactly it was the anniversary of the release of what I think is one of the greatest sports comedy movies ever. It's right there with Caddyshack. That's right. That's the Hanson. Brothers are great. But you remember Paul Newman putting on the foil taste drunk on the ice? And he's like you guys hit me one more time with a P. That was that was an amazing movie slapshot. Yeah. So I was talking to one run gay last night. And the guy is going to be in top of two days. But he he wants to come see is he can he's actually going to the Bronx to talk to inner city kids and help them raise money for these schools. He's doing very good. So then he goes to Switzerland on Tuesday night. But it's next trip. He's gonna come in and say a lotta was the. I said, listen, I guess Mitch Modell. For a ranger jersey. Let says Bernie and sit on the front and sit on the batch. And he said he should do it. That's from Ron to Gabe, Ernie one of the greatest Rangers of all time. Now, you're not you're not just a Schnur. You're a name dropper. Yeah. Hitting all the notes hitting all notes. So I reached out to Adam Graves. Yeah. And I say, I say gravies, gravy gravy, baby. I did because I wanted to meet me at the garden tonight. Because I love Pete Morgan. Don't I love, and he's peerless boilers, but but his about what I can't walk into the garden. What Pete Morgan like, I gotta walk in with an all time ranger. Great. Don't I I gotta walk in without him graves or Mike Keenan or Brian Leetch Brad park. John would tell you sid Rosenberg. I know don't need anybody. You don't need to attach yourself to somebody else. That's the self. No. But when like even the ranger greats need to be with me at a ranger game. You see it smaller cooking. Well, yes, I do do. Indeed, I do and I'm not surprised by the way. God bless the didn't even write your back who's at grazie nothing from graves. Nothing Bellevue only got to get back to his Ron do gay. But that never discourages you when they don't right back up on somebody looking for Steve Lomas, number again, me messy, listen many years ago, Bernie, and I did you cry when what's his name left like a messy crime? Just the other day somebody left. Yeah. Did you cry like Henrik Lundqvist? That's right. I did. I love silky nine years with the Rangers fried. Now, you know, the story. Yes. Of course, he gets traded to the Dallas Stars. He scores a goal, and then he breaks his arm. He's out the same night that Sunday night, but I did cry. But that's it as we get ready to do the burning in sitcom toner bring it back many years ago. I used to do great tournaments. I only saw the last one here wasn't even a part of it. There wasn't great are not gonna believe this Stephen Cox tournament going back fifteen years ago talking about Bernard bernardsville, New Jersey, right? The in fact, it was the was the famous ball was at Baltusrol or it was a famous. It was run by the guy Ray Donovan, yes. Who used to be the labor secretary who is alleged to have done something. And he was cleared and he made the famous quote now where do I go to get my reputation by exactly right Schreiber, not not live. That's funny. So we would do all the show from their opinion. And that Phil Simms would show what Jim Nance who is the voice of the masters. He's Mr. CBS scalp with Sergio Garcia was playing one of the game would call the event and me and Bernie would call with them. We did a bench with great. I I rea- clock in the afternoon on the francesa show while France says and Russo were playing God. That's right. David ferry from CBS and one year we. Mosquito was of course, and that day messy. And I and I know you think I'm writing, but we became very good friends. Email him to go with you texted. Mark Messier to get back to you. But he said, how'd you get this? Anyway, I want you all to Komitch Modell today and tell them sets it up.

"Just at five. Came back with important. We learned a very valuable lesson last year we took president's day. Sweet did all the people out there. We hear this ain't no backup. No, no. No. No. No, no. You've got the bar today. Baby toe Lynn. That's right. Nobody. Thank you doing. What are you doing? What are you vote? Call there. Mike wallwork? Oh my God. My about my mic is working aren't working. But those are this is gold part. Can I get some disinfectant on his mind? Like you guys hear me? Low light doesn't turn on different studio today. And I was worried about this Dolan news comes down all of a sudden my microphone, I tell you. I don't think it is either. But I gotta tell you for the first time. I actually think that this might be possible. Now hear me out for just one moment for just one moment. Back to a couple of things over the last year where there is smoke. There has got to be at least a spark of some fire because last year there started to be the rumors about them. Splitting off the teams from the entertainment side of the garden. They did that now at the time we were told it was more of a housekeeping thing, but it clearly made it much easier to sell off the Nixon Rangers should they decide to do. So they already sold the liberty. Exactly. The owner of the nets Joseph Cy exactly then you've got the ano- counter piece where Dolan doesn't say actively were shopping the next, but he said, everybody's got a price rule. We wouldn't rule anything out ever ten L Bill Simmons saying that on his podcast all over all star weekend. He heard an awful lot from a lot of people that he trusts that Dolan is active. Wli looking Detroit looking to sell the next courting courting possible buyers to sell the next, and it's the first time that I truly believe it because there have been some things that have happened, including splitting the teams off not that it's going to happen. But the possibility realistically exists for this to happen. Holy crap. As other champagne bottles that I hear popping in the streets. L listen, you know, obviously, I got some well documented issues of the guardian with James Dolan specifically. But actually, I actually am watching the sole season from the couch. I actually think one of the most encouraging things about this possible sale. And if they do sell the next and especially at this time, which is so crucial for the next with all this cap space opened up in a potential shot at the number one overall pick. It's actually the other ancillary people who are all around Dolan that finally get maybe the heave ho, you know, maybe we get an owner to come in by the Knicks, and they decide on the basketball side of things they want to clean house, or at least they want to start picking a little more picky and choosy about who's around the team. Not just people who are loyal to James Dolan, like Isaiah Thomas, and Steve mills Jerry still out on Scott Perry. But how puddings a few more real basketball people? Besides Steve mills who was the one who did sign Tim Hardaway to that contract that they just had to trade away in order to try to have a shot at these big free agents this off season get better people around the Knicks. The Knicks are a twenty year dysfunction because of Dolan. Yeah. Yes. But also because of all the bad decision making it's been around the Knicks and lack of patience and all this stuff. Maybe you have a chance to get a better owner with better people around them that that would be my hope for the Knicks. If this is actually true. And then you look what my life doesn't work either. So okay. Nervous. You look at what can happen. And you know, we were gonna discussing in a back, what type of owner would you like to see by the Knicks? I think that's more interesting story, what type of personality, what type of type, you know? Do we want more of a hands off type of own or do we want wanna hands on Cuban? Or bomber me? Personally. I think it'd be so funny. So New York if Jeff Bezos. I mean, I think that'd be perfect. Like, no, you can't have Amazon, but I'm going to buy the Knicks. And I want to run it my way, I take that. And nobody you wouldn't by the Knicks. If you wanna be under the radar, right? That's not a move you make if you want to buy the Knicks, it's because you want to have a persona you want to be a famous person you want us to talk about you, you wanna transcend from just being super rich to actually being super famous. Right. Look, I look at it. And. I could even add into the fact that they actually made the porzingas deal to make the whole situation. More attractive in a potential sale who. Not this guy. Can always guy. Fair. I'll be fair about this. It's not like the guy hasn't spent money. He has spent a ton of money on this team's wasted a lot of money to exactly and I truly believe he wanted to win over the years, but he listened to the wrong people when it came to making basketball decisions because of loyalty, and listen, I know how people value loyalty, but loyalty doesn't win loyalty doesn't win. So I want a guy. That's just straight minded logical. Not so emotional somebody. That will absolutely have a handle talk to the right people about who should be running my organization heels. There have been the right people in place to run the organization in times past and they've been run out of here. I wonder if there's a part of it that we all know that James Dolan's, I love is music, and he obviously owns all of these venues all over the country and pretty soon overseas as well. And. I think that maybe that's where he wants his focus to be and that's not necessarily a bad thing. If that's where your love lies. Go chasing. You have the money. You have the means go out and live your dream. And then to get the right basketball people here finally puts the Knicks back to where they belong which is meaningful. I mean, I'm not even asking, and I don't even think Knicks fans are asking for some go deliver us a championship next year. Although that would be nice how about just be meaningful. Just be relevant for goodness sakes threat, be a threat. And I think when in that, Ian, O'Connor piece another part of it that was that was telling was about how Dolan doesn't like it when he's out and about in New York, and he gets a lot of that glass from regular people saying what the hell you do it. You know and saying how you you've ruined the team. And I think that part of it is starting to weigh on him. And he admitted such to Ian, O'Connor any try to step away and say, you know, what during the Phil Jackson era. Okay. I'm going to step away. I'm going to bring in a full baseball basketball. Bald guy, and it could be further from the truth because you know, he thought he can throw as much money at at Phil and Phil would be invested. But he he wasn't invested. And he didn't get a guy that wanted to job. He didn't get the right. The right reasons for the right fit. And now just look you'll also what this can do. This is the most pivotal time. I believe in recent Knicks history where you can turn a narrative around. Now. Just imagine a lot of people wouldn't come here. Lebron when to come here because the he didn't like Dolan now, if you got the first overall pick you have opportunity to supermax EMMY people believe that fizz. Dell is the right guy. And then you come out, and you clean it. With like you said trim away. A lot of the fat a lot of people that are just hanging on and be able to put some basketball guys around here. Some good mice structure around here than a narrative overnight changes. And now, you can talk about this is like, you know, what is this the time? Is right. This is the perfect seems like all the all the everything. The line at the right time. And I mean, can you imagine I think it's too late for this year? I don't think it is. I mean because people bomber sale of the clippers that was under hostile, right? That was because Donald sterling had to get out of there like on the clock. Logistic fact that people know that he won't be the owner. And you could you imagine I was trying to be funny. But could you imagine if Basil's comes and buys the team and people that like like Kevin Durant who moved with his was his company thirty five or thirty five media pulling into New York. And now he's saying this is my owner, and now I wanna link businesses and learn now because now is that this one thing to be the best basketball player. Best football player. Whatever best baseball player. Now zyban. The God is winning and doing things out saw off the court whatever cordial play on and being able to make money off the field. Be honest. That's the reason why you come to New York to New York, you're not. Right now, you're not coming to the for the basketball unless you get some good players to turn it around. I'm so glad you mentioned Silicon Valley because I think NBA fans you don't have to just be a Knicks fan to understand this that the Golden State Warriors were a massive embarrassment massive. I hate to go poo poo on Chris Mullin, because I know they're coming off this big win and congratulations to Saint John's beating Villanova, but Mullin was a terrible general manager. It's called say. Bad disinterested in draft picks were bad. And it was just it was bad all over the place. But they finally Larry Ellison from oracle decides to sell to Joe lake up. He puts Bob Myers their general manager in may, he's the one who hires away Steve Kerr away from what the Knicks could've had right? This was down to the Nixon the Golden State Warriors. They hit on Steph curry, they were smart enough to give them to stay with him over Monto LS yada, yada yada there. Now one of the best franchises and best run franchises in the league in about to move into a brand new arena and people are running air. I believe the biggest reason why UK the moved out there wanted to go there is because it's interesting tech. And now he's bringing over here to the east coast. I know. A kid that I mentor works with all those guys all those guys heavily invested in technology out there, especially ego dollar mean. Yeah. So you so you look at what's going on Air New York presents those same things an owner like basil. I mean, why wouldn't you wanna.

"Roberts, eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six is. Of course, the one o'clock CNBC will come your way. Don't kramer. Ernie Acosta on the other side of the glass, the last night, of course, as we look at the lovely weather. We're having here in New York as the snow is coming down last night. I'm watching guys kind of go back and forth between the two basketball games. We had kind of like one end of the spectrum any other end of the spectrum. In one end of the spectrum. We got the nets who looked like they're played certainly as a legitimate playoff. The initiate looked like they will be a playoff team this year against the Toronto team. That's one of the best teams in the east. It what really was a terrific game even on. The nets will come up short at the end of making the shot with four seconds left that Wendy game. But really terrific back and forth game last night. The Andrew Russell had a big night. Joel Harris had a big night. And unfortunately for the nets they wind up coming up short at the end. And I think it's like eight or nine executive losses now to Toronto in Toronto. David wants to Toronto fifteen sixteen times overall, but whatever a real competitive game. A really a terrific game against teams that certainly will be in the playoffs in eastern wall is said and done and then on the other end the Nick Cavaliers game, which is like design. Williamson bowl wasn't like both teams are trying to lose the game because they played was competitive game where right down to the wire even on Knicks would wind up. Losing the game at the end they certainly had their shots. But I mean, I'm watching the game. And you look at who's on the floor for the Knicks. Layton is basketball game. It's like they weren't even on the team to start the year. This kid Allen Kadena Allen. He had a terrific game. Last night. Winds up scoring twenty five points had one sequence where he hit about three or four shots in a row. And with the game on the line at the Luc cornet it's too big three point shots to get them within one that he had a chance to hit it three to give them the lead that he missed where he kind of hesitated on a step by step back three point shot. But still Knicks down three with the ball, seventeen seconds to go. They wind up getting terrific looks at the end of the game. One by John Jacobs who is playing his first game as a knick. You just they just got him after he had a ten day contract with Washington or whatever the deal was there. He had a pretty good look from the corner, and it didn't go down. But Dennis Smith winds up getting a rebound. And he throws up a shot that really didn't have a chance to go in at the buzzer. And the Knicks lose again. So and Kevin Knox is upset because knick fans are actually cheer rooting for them to lose the game. I don't know. I, you know, it's so hard. Well, you're a knick fan. It's so hard to figure out, you know, how do you? How do you feel about the game? You know, you you're a knick fan. So it's almost impossible to to root against them. I mean, I'm not sitting there actually saying, oh, I want to see him lose. But I'm not sitting there saying, oh my God. You know, you're not going crazy. You know, when they missed a shot or when it looks like they're gonna lose the game. Or when Cleveland does something good. You're not getting upset by like you would if the game really meant something if the Knicks won the game. And I guess the only negative about the game last night for the Knicks as they continue to plummet and clearly right now at easily have the worst record in the league at ten and forty six now Cleveland's like twelve and forty five maybe ten and forty seventy. But now you lose count there's been so many losses. But the Knicks now was a team record seventeen consecutive games. Seventeen in a row. Do you realize house thinking about this last night as I'm watching the end of the game? The Nick record for consecutive wins is eighteen straight wins. And they did that back in the championship. The first championship season in sixty nine seventy which at the time was the all time record for consecutive wins in the history of the NBA. It's since been passed the bucks a past it like the next year they won twenty. And of course, now seventy two Lakers have the all time record with thirty. Three consecutive wins. Which is the all time. I believe the all time record in professional sports for consecutive wins in a row, which you know, now it's been how many years now. And we had a couple teams win mimic. What was it Cleveland or Miami? A couple of years in a row I wanted to LeBron's teams. I guess it was Miami one like twenty six or twenty seven in a row. Yeah. That one season where Houston I think one in the twenties in a row or something like that. But that record still holds today from nineteen seventy-one seventy two thirty three straight wins by the Laker team went on to win the championship that year with wilt, Jerry West and Gail Goodrich and all those guys. So that's still the record that that holds. But the Knicks did had that record for at least a year eighteen th straight wins. Well, now this team is on the verge of tying that record except with losses. Seventeen is the record now and it shouldn't for eighteen. And why would I believe that? It's not going to go to, you know, nineteen by the time we get to the all star break, and it's got two games left before the all star break, they gotta play Philadelphia at home tomorrow night. There's anybody really think that beating the Sixers one of the best teams in east tomorrow night. And then they do play in Atlanta. After that on Thursday night before the all-star break would actually beating Atlanta couple teams a couple of times this year. So maybe that's where the streak ends. I don't know. But just think about that the all time record for wins by the Nixon consecutive with eighteen. And now, they're one loss away from tying net with losses. But it's very it's just so hard when you're watching these games. What do you do? I mean, you look if your net fan now if you're Evan who I believe is coming back from Florida today. Pick the great day data come back from Florida. But with the weather being what it is. But you know, obviously, you want to see the nets win. You're a good team at five hundred a winter Vinik they played the Cleveland tomorrow night to wrap up the pre all star break portion of the season and need to win that game to get over five hundred, you know, going into the break because not back at five hundred twenty nine twenty nine. But it's such a weird dynamic if you're Nick fan. I mean, you really if you're a big Nick you really sitting there. Hey, they got to lose this game. Really rooting out where leave rooting against them. Or do you do like, I would just kind of sit there numb. It doesn't really matter. What happens in his game? If they lose great if they win fine. Kind of like my feeling right now. And you look at the guys that are on his team. I mean really is John Jenkins going to be on his team next year. And I know I know condemn Allen play tonight's game. He's been pretty decent since they they brought him from the G league. Or every came from as you guys is he on the team going forward is he? I. And these are the guys taking a big shots down the stretch. Dennis Smith is going to be here. Looks like the Andre is going to be here. Obviously Kevin Knox who really has not showed much. I mean, he had a bad game last night too. I think you wound up with thirteen points. You had a chance to an open three that could have gave them the lead. He wound up missing it. And in Cleveland came in like the last three or four minutes of the game. Cleveland came right down after that. And hid it three. And he also had a drive to the basket, we wound up getting script and Cleveland came down and scored after that. And so Nazi is not John wells not play. Well, I'm not knocking Knox. I mean. Kids nineteen years old. I don't wanna dump them. But he hasn't been terrific. So I just, but it's just it's just so hard when you know, you sit there and watch these games. I mean, if you're a fan if you've fans and Knicks right now, or even if you're fan and Rangers who, you know are better than the Nick Saban they make their night points out now of a of a playoff spot behind Pittsburgh in their division. So I mean, I doubt they're making the play offs. And I don't see that. Happening, and they're probably gonna make deals at the deadline as well. Coming up February twenty fifth VJ Radic is gonna join us later. We'll talk some some Ocoee the islanders the devils the Rangers and all of that what EJ coming up at eleven o'clock. But if you're a fan of Nixon Rangers. What are you? What are you doing right now? What's your mindset? Least if you're like Evan Annette island, the family is right now, I place in division. You gotta believe this is the year. Maybe they're going to finally make a big a deep playoff run. I mean, you would think that's going to happen. We'll see. And obviously the nets looks like a team that's legitimately gonna make the playoffs this year. And it's still, you know, still not one hundred percent even olivet has come back, and they got crab back. You know, they still don't have Dinwiddie right now. So there's still not at full strength. But you gotta figure they're going to be in the playoffs. So at least that end of it, you got something going if you're a knick ranger fan light right now, what are you doing? And I always say this. Thank god. I got the golf to watch on the weekends. Because otherwise, I'd be what am I getting excited about right now mean, you do have the college basketball and college basketball is okay? You watch watch ST John's, and I'll watch Rutgers and watch the big teams play you like to watch Kentucky. And obviously you watch. Do you want to see Williams saying you wanna see Barrett and all that especially if you're a knick fan? But I mean, there's nothing I understand the day. You know, spring training is going on now to pitchers and catchers. And you know, we could talk baseball, and we can talk about whatever you wanna talk about. Obviously, we don't have the signings. That are big guys yet off hasn't signed Machado hasn't signed Dallas kaikal hasn't signed quick kimberlites assigned. So you got all these big guys. It's still haven't signed contracts memo to the Mets I'll take any of them. The Mets to sign any of those guys. I mean, I we know that already but even kaikal and kimbrel. I mean, they're still hanging out there. They're still out there. And I know a lot of people get excited about spring training. But, you know, spring training to me I mean, really I mean wake me up when the season starts wake me up at the end of March, beginning, April, we're actually playing real baseball games. So it's just a very very tough time right now, especially if you're a fan of the teams that play in Madison Square Garden, and especially the New York Knicks as we talked about yesterday, basically living on a prayer, and that prayer is that Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving are going to sign with the Knicks free agents, and they're gonna wind up winning the lottery, and I think that we're gonna wind up with the worst record in the league. But you really think even with that that they're going to win the lottery, but you know, that's the living on a prayer and winning the lottery and getting Zion. Williamson and the envisioning the threesome of Williamson Durant and Kyrie at the garden next year. And this is what you got if you're a knick fan, so very tough tough time right now if you're fan. Goes through teams. There's no doubt about it. But we carry on eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six but didn't go into mid day. Evan still on vacation. I mentioned EJ radical. Join us at eleven o'clock. We'll talk about hockey with him as we close in a couple of weeks away from the trading deadline. We could talk some baseball today as well. You heard the the interview yesterday Brodie van wagon with Mike and the different stuff that that he was talking about maybe could all play some first base, which he should have been more off days McNeil with more time in the Alfie. Then then he then he's going to have Indian field. There's know there's no room for Harper Machado. Of course, how could there be, you know? So we could discuss that we could discuss the Yankees, you know, whatever you wanna talk about Kyle Murray who has now declared that he is in the NFL is going to play football is going to be any NFL draft. I guess he's going to give back a lot of money to the Oakland A's if they paid them, and you got to believe he's going to be a high draft choice. Maybe the giants would be interested in drafting him. I still would I would take Haskins over Murray. But you never know. But we'll see how that all plays out. So we can discuss all at eight seven seven three three seven sixty six sixty six we'll break come back with your phone calls EJ Radic at eleven after this..

"WFAN and WFAN FM New York. Is calling from Brooklyn New York and his name is Josh. And Josh you're on the fan. Thanks for the call. No for sure thanks for being had. Now. I want to ask you a question. I wanna ask you a pin? Okay. Let me tell you. I live in between the Knicks and the nets. Okay. And right now as I was talking about how the Knicks have cast face to free agents next to that's all very good right now. I'll Amax free agent. I'm going to the nets this. I'm going to the Knicks. Well, okay. Dangelo Russell's all star this year. It wasn't as you might have been all star. So young guys Spencer Dinwiddie playing well together. Good coach, Kenny Atkinson, and they're not. Losing that good young franchise. I'll pick the nets. I the Netzer better team than the knickerbockers and worth your attention. We were talking about the nets early. I'm not a nets fan knickebocker. Pam, but listen, everybody in the NBA is better than the Knicks and the nets if you're a nets fan, and you are they are worth your time. They have a good coach they have some very good players, and they have some direction. With the front office. They seem to know what they know Billy king is around. They know what they're doing. And they have some key players heard already. So they'll get better as a season goes along to be a playoff team. We're not talking championship. We're not talking Eastern Conference finals, but they're gonna make the playoffs and after the kind of start they had with the Aden eighteen they have listen, look what they've been doing. So again, they beat Denver is off on the road. Denver number two seed, and they were only half a game behind the mouthpiece in the chimney coming into Brooklyn. And I know that there was at Denver speed Minnesota a couple of games ago by one then they got blown out in Detroit. They're on the road. So they're feeling the with the very miss home. Were they are twenty three and four. I think they have the best home record of any team in the. The NBA but on the road there like fourteen and thirteen after the loss to Brooklyn. And again, they know the nets were down. What was it like twelve I think are fourteen they were down in the first half. And yet had a forty two point second quarter and had a nice twelve point lead at halftime over seventy points at halftime. And I mean because listen isn't this what we love about the NBA who plays defense. Everybody takes the three. Nobody takes it to be more. And you know, what the nets if win over Denver were better shooting threes, then they were shooting ones. They miss nine from the free throw line. Al is calling from Yonkers Allieu on the pattern New York City. Thank you for taking the time. Thank you for taking my call. Steve. I really appreciate it. Oh me too. Listen, I got way to speed up the game of baseball without really changing the game baseball. Okay. When the pictures are warming up in the bullpen and they come into the game. They're allowed eight pitches. Why don't we knocked that down to two pitches? Same thing with the starting pitcher they come out to the to the mound. Start the ending you give them to warm up pitches. And then the game starts. You know, how much time Zaka to say that you want. I mean, listen to you. They're going to warm up sometimes you can warm up a little bit longer than now are times when you come in from the bullpen be warmed up already. Only take a couple of the mount to cut the game. I understand what you're saying. I think what would really save a lot of time is making sure and I can't see the home plano on pyro or any umpire. With a stop watch with twenty seconds that you can't enforce list. But I think the message is, you know, not to do the one thousand one one thousand two to one thousand three get the ball looking for the sign on. Let's go. And and I think also a you know, what would save a lot of time. Get rid of the D H lead pitchers hit and make their routes may want ages. You want the D H in there? That's gonna maybe prolong the game with more hits morons. What do you think? So you could eliminate the D H, and maybe save a little time there, and again, everyone wants the D H. Okay. And that's where it's going. And that's where say hadn't probably in twenty twenty. We'll have that not in this season in two thousand nineteen my keep the battery in the batter's box until the plate appearance and door at bad is all said and done. But no they've got to step out after every single pitch to adjust the cop and to adjust the wristband sell. You know what I'm saying? I think outlawed the wristband and get rid of the D H and you'll save a lot of time with major league baseball. Again. You know, you got a bunch of people who have too much time on their hands trying to reinvent the wheel. And what we ought to do to make changes is to change the people. Who are making these kinds of proposals and these kinds of changes to a game. That's perfect. You can save a little time. Yeah. I understand with that get the pitcher to throw and do his job throw the ball pitch. And you wanna hit the we don't need with the cop. We don't need with the with the risks man stay in the batter's box. And you'll save a little bit of time. It is what it is. It's major league baseball. And I don't think necessarily if you're a millennial if your generation X bothered that much as if you're into fantasy Brian is going to pay attention. Brian is calling from TOMS river. And Brian you're on the fan at city what's going on? Big fan. First time long time. Thank you for taking the time, Brian for sure. No problem from your lips to God's ears on that last point, man. Oh, we gotta do is keep those guys in the batter's box. And who knows who's making these proposals to you know, ruin the fabric of our beautiful game. I mean, really I mean, and again, a, you know, it's ironic. Everybody wants to D H if you got rid of it you'd probably save some time there. Yeah. I think we all know that's not going anywhere. Of course. American League Yankee guy, but you know, I like the charm. That's the nationally known strategy a real quick. I called. I heard you need like a second and third time. I heard either you or from the fan that the Orioles be interested in trading for Hicks. No. I'm just making that up. Yeah. I'm saying that February. Needs a blockbuster. He needs some eye opening a major breaking news at my projection is that the Yankees will deal Hicks to make room for Bryce Harper. Very good. Yeah. They're in a rebuilding. And they got no need for that. But I'm may make sense to me that the Yankees get him a good work out. Some kind of a first of all he would love being a Yankee. I'm sure that. And I think yeah. And a left handed bad in that ballpark. And where where is the glut of outfielders the Yankees, supposedly have and, you know, come, you know, late June July with the, you know, her all the time there's going to be a need, and there's always a need for a guy like that. Get I mean, we should go on and on. Why light makes sense that the bosses here and wouldn't even being being the question at this point. Well, I mean there you go by Brian thanks for your call. And again, I mean, if our Nado is gonna sign long-term with the rock cats, the Yankees might be thinking, maybe Machado. You know, we'll get him to play third. We're not gonna next year have a chance to go after our not a with the Colorado. Arguably the best third basement and the game again chorus field. You know, the Yankees have LeMay who certainly was better hitter records field. Still a good hitter. And a good acquisition and see the keys they proved to all of us that you cannot have enough right-handed bats in your lineup. But enough middle builders, Dan is calling from Rockland. And Dan, you're on the fan was happening damn shoe longtime listener first time calling in is truly an honor. Thank you. It's an honor that you're there, and that you did take the time to call and see, you know, that's appreciated for sure. You gotta you gotta anyway shoes on big time. Nets Icelanders fan. I think this is the first time in years that we're Super Bowl and access sports to watch it too beautiful thing. Quick comment on on both the Icelanders and the net. I think coach is very often coaches are unfairly criticized end up losing their jobs when it's not really a full down. I get it. Someone needs to take the full shirt. I don't think. So I think, you know, very often on the flipside countries, don't get credit, and what any Atkinson and very trust. I do. I think it's unbelievable. In my opinion. They should both be in the running for coach of the year end respectively. They will be absolutely no, absolutely. Literally taking you know, taking getting the most animal their players and quick quick question on both the ice wonders in the nets colder alluded to it earlier. Do you think? As long as I can remember, they kind of play second fiddle to, you know, islanders to the Rangers. The next to the next. I never been a disaster. Institute thousand but you think this year, we're free agents look at you know, the teams coach and say, hey, I rather go place for the islanders. I rather go to the next. So the nets I think would be better because both teams are having good seasons. But New York is defined by the Nixon Rangers. It just is the way it is whether it's history. It's tradition. It's allred's mystique. It's all of those kinds of things we used to say about the Yankees and nets fans. No it and nice Lander fans. No that doesn't take away from and is Sandra fan who knows that his hockey team is number one. And it doesn't take away from any nets fan who feels and and roots for his number one team, which could be the nets, and the fact that they're better adds credibility to those who root for those teams. But this is let's face it. I mean, it's a bigger story. The nicotine. Walkers losing than the nets winning. And it's a bigger story. The Rangers losing than the Icelanders winning by that shouldn't take away from any Icelander fan or any nets fan. What they feel about their team one eight seven seven three three seven six six six six gonna abandoned. Hockey fans. Join greater Fort Lauderdale for the ultimate pre-game.

"The twenty. Good morning. Whether we have a little bit better and more accurate view of how many? People actually watched the AFC championship game between the chiefs and Badri. Yes. So these are the rating the championship weekend rating for both games. Unbelievable. For for FOX was forty four point one million watching the saints in the Rams, which is used number. Our number on CBS was fifty three point nine million. So at fifty four million ten million more people. It is. I don't know. What it I think is Patrick Mahomes, certainly. Yeah. And I also gets Bill Belichick and Tom Brady, people know, these people and. I'm thinking, you know, twenty five years now, hopefully football still going strong. And it's as popular as ever as it is. Now, this is the best or most watch football game other than Super Bowls over the last five years. So whatever ratings slump that was perceived to be taking place in sixteen and seventeen has now been wiped out by the excitement of some of these great young players and storylines. But you know, how in the seventies? You had the Steelers the Cowboys the Packers in the early sixties. You had all these like dynasty teams spawned all these fans even like you became a Minnesota Vikings fan why? Well, because I had a family member who loved the purple people eaters, and he turned me into a Vikings fan because of that because he was a big fan seventy. And then you also are the dolphin fans and the the undefeated season of seventy two and Bob greasy. And and you know, the NFL burst on TV the teams that were there playing for championships ended up just infecting the rest of the country. And that's why you see the terrible towel. That's why you hear about. America's greatest team. That's why the raiders are so popular, right? You gotta wonder like twenty five thirty years from now are the patriots. Now, they've been doing this for twenty years with check o'brady are they spawning a whole new nationwide. Generation of fans. Sure, I think them and the Golden State Warriors as well. I think that's another another team that is doing that same thing. Now, obviously, east coast west coast. You don't stay up and watch as many games when they start at ten thirty. But I do believe that. Yes. That is that will absolutely happen. But the people who generally choose their teams based on the the aptitude of them that don't only stick with it. I think a lot of people in the seventies did. But I don't know if the same thing will happen here if it's once Brady retires. It's like all right. Maybe that'll be the end of it. But, but yeah, I mean, I I do believe that that that is that that is a real possibility. And there's also like some of these other teams in these areas like that like, Pittsburgh and in Miami. And all these like dolphin fans are known like down in Miami is not being all that passionate. But the outside of Miami dolphin fan is the passionate one because sort of like me with the Vikings always talk about this. When I go to. Viking games. The Viking fans out there. Like, oh, whatever, you know. It's okay. You're still breathing. This is my life is ruined. So it's always funny when you get the the way that we're wired with a fan base where in that area. Doesn't always match got Mets Nixon Rangers. That's me. Absolutely Marianne Long Island Mary. What's happening? Hey, mary. Good morning. How Beckham needs to go into the locker room to get here to fluid IB?.

"And so. For the back story on that is in terms of supporting Maggie. She said some comments about Jim Dolan, the New York Knicks owner a couple months ago where truly just sort of called doling out for. A number of issues in including. Some what she sort of considered with some hypocrisy, especially around the new nuke route Sander situation, you can Google all that I'm not gonna sort of go through that because it would take too much time. In response, James Dolan, ordered basically businesses around the country to shutdown working with Entercom. That's WFAN's parent company. I think ban Nixon Rangers players and MSG broadcasts from peering on WFAN as well. So basically, you know, took maggie's comments, which I thought were legit, and, you know, went sort of nuclear, I guess that's his right, but ultimately massive bullying act. So I certainly supported Maggie and support her on that. And so what I do wanna do though is you know, in in tweeting that to a couple of colleagues. I think I gave the indication that. There was nobody Sports Illustrated who stepped up for Maggie gray publicly, and that was not the case. So I totally apologize for that. I got to be better with my language in terms of being specific. So as I found out after the fact there were many people from Sports Illustrated who definitely tweeted some public support out of people who privately reached out to Maggie. So that was a bad job by me. You know, I always want organizations to especially someone who's been greatest MAG gray. You want him to step up in mass for her? And so there were people who did that. And so I should have been more careful if I was going to be specific sort of pointed out someone specific as opposed to tag, the whole organization so my apologies on that. Listen I worked for Sports Illustrated for nineteen years. That's a place. I basically grew up in professionally I spent more hours at that office than I did at my house by a lot and I care about that place. So. So the people called me out privately on that. I got a cell phone that they were they right to do that. And finally Maggie grated. Not tell me at all to do this. And I know she heard from a couple of people thinking that she put me up to that. She did not Magritte as a need to put her up to anything. She's fantastic. So that was all me and my doing I've screwed up on Twitter before I will screw up again. But but it apologies to those colleagues who were pissed off by that comment, especially those who who who supported Maggie. I understand how you feel and you know, I'll try to be more careful with my language, but there's no doubt I'm gonna screw up on Twitter again. That is for certain. All right. So that's over four. So we'll end it. Boy. I don't know if loophole green still listening, but I would longer than I thought I did. All right. So for loophole grano for James, Andrew Miller. This is Richard dyke. We will see you in twenty nineteen on the sports media puck..

There's a sports talk show host in New York on WFAN Magrey. Oh, I heard the story. Now, a like a lot of New York host. She's been very critical of Nixon Rangers owner, James Dolan. She went particularly hard on Dolan when his band released a song called I should have known about his friend Harvey Weinstein, gray pointed out that Dolan himself lost a huge lawsuit. When is AM Thomas was found to have sexually harassed a woman at MSG over a decade ago. She got personal calling Dolan vile piece of trash she later apologized for getting personal but not for the content of what she said on Monday MSG announced. It would no longer do any business with Entercom. The company that owns WFAN. Here's what MSG issued in a statement, quote, Entercom, aired a hate filled rant directed at MSG, its employees and its executive chairman in August. They chose to take no action to remedy this until the start of this season. Only after learning they would not receive special access to players and coaches today elect to offer an insincere halfhearted apology. We wish them no ill will. However, we declined to carry on a business relationship. We continue to afford intercom league mandated access only and quote. In other words, they're not doing any more business with any Entercom TV radio station..
