"The chiefs relentlessly blitz Jordan love in a thirteen seven victory over the Packers love was nineteen of thirty four for one hundred ninety yards with a touchdown and an interception just being able to get a couple deeper throws down the field and see those completed I think that helped me a lot and obviously just being over the ball out quicker too when we picked up some more quick game stuff his touchdown pass to Allen Lazard with four forty nine left gave Green Bay a chance but the Packers finished with just three hundred one yards of total offense in ending a seven game winning streak love was in for Aaron Rodgers who missed the game after testing positive for the corona virus last week Patrick Mahomes threw for one hundred sixty six yards and a touchdown for the five and four chiefs I'm the ferry

"Would there still chance for him to turn it around. But i have him and samuel dominating than the niners can play their way back into this mix defense is pretty solid. They're they got. You know contained cuyler. Mary easier said than done. He's got a little problem so if they can get a couple of hits on him early maybe limited his mobility. That's going to give them some help in this game but man this would be a huge win for the niners yet. Deebo killed me last week and fantasy. Okay how about the next game case tennessee. Titans at the los angeles rams are los angeles. Rams are favored by seven. And a half in this one. Yeah dude italians man coming off a crazy overtime. Win against those colts snuck it out of there and You know is lucky. They did get that win. Because they're moving forward And live without derrick. Henry mentioned if they signed. Adrian peterson to the the practice squad. There i doubt he's gonna be able to play in this game. So you have to go with christie macnichol. I mean germany mcnicoll. He's no dare cannery but you know at least he's been in the offense for a little while so they might have some different things that they want to do with him there and aj brown my goodness dude. He started so slow and now he is just dominating dude everywhere man. This guy is fun to watch ten catches one hundred fifty five yards in a td last week so if they can never get julio healthy maybe they're not gonna miss henry as much as they might but play action is we're really what Ryan tannehill best aso. We're going to see how that plays out with out having that derrick henry that there might change the look of this offense a little bit and that's bad news because at this rams defense is pretty pretty. Dang good yeah. They are not as good as they were last year casey. But there's still are pretty good and we'll get into that i Let's talk just generally rams coming into this thing at seven and one having crushed the texans last week stafford probably feels like he died and went to heaven note. You're just in los angeles studio and it's run running the offense twenty two touchdowns Just four picks for one eighteen pass ratings arguably having his best season ever and last week. Three hundred and five yards three touchdowns for stafford. Cooper cup is absolutely tearing up the league unbelievably. This guy seems like he's the best receiver in the league and statistics Barrett out really last week seven catches one hundred fifteen yards and a touchdown and he became the first player in the super bowl era with nine hundred or more receiving yards and ten or more touchdowns in eight games of the season so stacking up numbers like that. It's just crazy sick. How good cooper cop is he gets wide open he makes the catch is just an absolute nightmare defenses and of course they've got some other dudes out there Rubber woods but last week daryl anderson ran the ball really well ninety yards and two scores for henderson so getting him back with huge Losing camakers in the beginning of the year Or before the season bummer. And then they're like. Oh yeah henderson's can we find well. henderson is fine now and he's really showing that their faith was well placed as long as he can stay healthy offensively. The steam fifteen yards fourth in past fifth in points..

"Probably going to be in terms of him being that all around super duper michael vick randall. Cunningham type of quarterback steve young type of quarterback where there are do threat quarterbacks. The new new age of what they do quarterback is all about them. We went from bobby douglass with a chicago bears with nothing but a runner. We you know we. We went ahead and went to randall. Cunningham who revolutionized the quarterback position when he was by far and away the grip the best athletes on the football field whenever he played his athleticism and his His movements and how he was able to not only run for close to one thousand yard but also be able to throw a ninety yard bomb the freddie mitchell and those guys and be able to operate in a system designed just for him to take advantage of his skill set of his athletic ability and then after he retired after flaming out in philadelphia to come back for the year that he had Taking the place of brad. Johnson when he got injured in nineteen ninety eight with the minnesota vikings with danny green at the head coach. Brian billick the offense coordinator and have the renaissance for one year that he had where his athletic skills were quite diminished but he still had the developmental he had developed. He had developed an an opportunity to be that pocket quarterback and you had the season that he had for the vikings going. Fifteen one randy morrison chris carter and in in Isaac re-litigating i read. I read or something like that. Robert smith that team was flipping loaded. But you know what made that team go. Was the pocket passing presence of randall. Cutting him. I see possibly the scene type of adventure in terms of lamar jackson. You know developing into that type of quarterback where look man for the next four or five years lamar as be maybe one of the most if not the most dangerous threat authentic threat in the league. Because he's going to continue to develop as a pocket passer and is that leather system is still going to be there. So we're looking at lamar about maybe until about the age of twenty eight or twenty nine barring some type of injury where you're gonna have to account for him in his athleticism big time now when he starts getting into authorities when he starts slowing down a little bit won. The game progresses will in new generation of super freak athletes. Come and You know in in Start to play him a little bit more. She's going to have to adjust by that time. I'm going to go under the on the assumption that he'll be able to stay in the pocket. Use his athleticism. When need be because won't be the same as it was when he was playing at his current age right now but You know. I think that's the i think. That's the progression in terms of quarterback. Play for lamar jackson. So yes. Lamar won the mvp. When basically i wouldn't want i. I'm not gonna say that..

"Actually you cooper costs just march kumar and no cooper cup had one hundred ninety yards or okay. Pretty sure right but like the problem with the seahawks guys locked. In mccafe is a big part of their value. Came from playing with. Not just one of the most efficient white quarterbacks we've ever seen in the nfl but also an incredibly accurate and productive deep ball thrower and so gina smith only attempted three passes more than fifteen yards down the field. That's going to be an issue if he's not going to be aggressive and he probably won't be certainly not to the extent that russell wilson is. It's going to make it a lot harder for metcalf. Unlock to have those boom games. They're still going to be good ones but they're not going to be nearly as productive or predictable as they were. I think metcalf is a more like a number two wide receiver moving forward and lock it. I think i'm going to have him around thirty to thirty five most weeks. Yeah that's i think that's probably the safe. But the saints than the jaguars and then a bye week and then. Hopefully they're going to get gino back after that Sorry russell wilson back after that. But we just don't know me while you're absolutely right. About cooper copy did have a bad game against arizona. He did have thirteen targets in the game but five catches for sixty four yards. He's been over ninety yards every other game. Okay and then the running games. Obviously nashi harris a must start. He's a studies looking great even behind the offensive line yards. My no. maybe maybe yeah. Maybe who's better christian. Mccaffrey applying right. Now i'd take henry cook. Zeke henry heckler probably aaron jones zeke over him. Yeah oh yeah why not joy. I mean nausea. Harris is a hundred yards. What three straight games. He's on pace for over. One hundred targets miss. It doesn't matter. He's in the other the me. He stopped six..

Come to end the season. Both jake right there. i think. I think they're having more points. In our robinson into the year i will i think. Around some values low the slide in listen sell high a category. Hopefully his value comes back. Alabama some fancy owner by donald is definitely shown. I think has more targets in allen ramps. Yeah that's not gonna stay all year will catch robinson finishes better. Gets more targets gets more catches gets more yards. It gets more touchdowns not are the best one Everything could. I think it's going to happen. You know what. I'm saying about turnaround free money. Football i yeah. None the guy. My last per ship off ninety harris real yup. He's i think he's touchdown reception dependent. You're not gonna see him getting over. Really like fifty rushing yards in any game just because pittsburgh. Dolphins sucks offers Thousands out. yeah he's got. You know over ninety yards the last two games with twenty twenty eight touches definitely get high usage that we expected coming in the year however again last week was the packers. Hit a touchdown. Anything rushing touchdown which. I don't think he'll get too many You know deontay. The watts become healthy. He's gonna get a targets. I seem getting five catches four yards and then four yards rushing a game so to ten the Seventeen points without a touchdown. That's good but if you ship them off while these values vary hi 'cause ending right now is a rb four yet. I haven't i serve them on my list. Kind of you know kind of wait and see us on. Hold hold on. Just for now. But i definitely agree with what you're saying. I thought coming into year it'd be more of a pr of back volume. But oh yeah the the the rhineland. Aren't there in pittsburgh. So i agree. I swear it again. He's he gonna get catches. It's gonna be like five for forty six thirty. See another fifteen catch. You know for sure. No especially would be gossiping back. "Better thomas or pits. Thomas pits and thomas. Okay so they're pretty close right. Yes which falcons running back to you like better. They've had okay. We'll get into it. So taylor heineke. He has made four career starts. In six point passing touchdown leagues. He has scored eight points. Twenty two twenty three and twenty four points. And the falcons are giving the third most points to quarterback so you could see the case for low starter. It's not always pretty though i mean. He didn't play well against the giants and he came away with twenty three. He didn't play well against Bills and he had twenty four points but he can be what you have to expect. Yeah low end starter for him antonio's or he's also fifty nine hundred on draft kings as the fourteenth priced quarterback. So if you're gonna do daily. I think heinecke is a pretty good option gibson. If he plays this is a good one. We're going to be actually are enthusiastic for gibson right. Okay yeah you gotta hope so. I mean i'd like to see them playing with the lead and what that means. We saw little in week one. Against the chargers you got ninety yards rushing from him. so let's let's have them playing with With with some sort of advantage here and hopefully he's doing okay. Yeah twenty carries in that game. How about mckissick starter. Sit for a guy who's had two duds and one enormous game. The only way. I'm starting mckissick is a antonio gibson is out be an appear league and i'm absolutely desperate for a running back and i'm going to hope that somehow the game script will be favorable for him. Last week's game script should have been favorable for many. Wasn't really that good. So i he is a very very dicey play. I would not want to use jd. Mckissick so i. I was talking to a handicapper front of mind this morning. And he said this is the toughest game to figure out for him because of how the defense washes played in how the offense has struggled for atlanta. I think if you think if you're on the school of thought that the sauk ins are going to score points in this game which as seen against his defense team to score points against them knowing then you gotta like mckissick. If you think that they're going to control the game washington told the game then you should stay away from So however you approach game for me. I would expect washington to control the game so they mckissick is is a desperation. Start but mike. Dave said if you're stuck you're not a bad pr flex option. There's pretty funny. "I thought that this stretch of the giants facing a third down into their honor roll and with two seconds left on the play clock. Joe judge called a time out. I thought that was a terrible decision. He thought the clock was going to run out. And they're going to take a delay of game penalty. Daniel jones looked over it. I'm like i had it. I had it. We were going to get the snap off. And i think he was and so they didn't get to to to attempt the third and two. They called the time out. They come back after the timeout. And andrew thomas false starts now. It's third and seven at the thirty two. And then daniel jones get sacked by a combination of young and sweat loses six yards. Washington saves points with the with the penalty and the sack. The giants ended up putting because they're out of field goal. Range washington takes the next drive. Thirteen plays ninety yards. Seven minutes elapsed. It's seventy seven. That was a big turning point. I know it's early and there's a lot of game left and a lot of things could have played out differently. Had the giants gone in and scored but the giants calling that time out. Joe judge calling that time out was dumb. Daniel jones had it. He knew what he was doing. They weren't in at that point. They had not been stopped on one drive in so far on a second drive and i just felt really like Joe judge ruined the momentum. He put a halt to the momentum. Jones got sacked. They wanted to the ten washington answers with a crucial ninety yard. Thirteen play drive. It's seven to seven. That is the list of things that i liked. The reason that was on the list of things that i liked because it benefited washington A turning point. I thought i thought very early in the game all right the list of things that i didn't like right after these words from a few of our sponsors when simplisafe home security's founders chad melinor. Lauren's design their first security system in their kitchen. They did it for a very personal reason. Their friends had just had their home broken into. They were struggling to find a security system. That would simple the setup and would make them feel safe again. Making people feel safe is exactly would.

"Or right. Mike williams one on one left. That's he's looking. That's where he's throwing mike williams bucks now. Dj you've written a letter stamped it and sent it to ron. Rivera told him. That's where you're going. There was nothing he could do about it. That's kind of insulting to reprobate. Ron ron head and said this is where we're going. And he's such a doubt told ron rivera you want your team to get vaccinated. Guess what mike williams is gonna ask. Touchdown nice charter. The chargers radio team so the chargers win the game. Outright the game goes under the total. We had the chargers teasers everywhere so another game that was profitable for the grew here on you better you bet and i honestly i think another game where i mean. The teasers cash both ways to so it's like even had washington before the up that drive at the end helped. The chargers didn't try to go for points. Took knees inside the red zone The statistics will tell you that maybe the margin between these teams was a little wider than you would have expected that the chargers were maybe a little bit better brutal red zone trips for the chargers in this game two for six lost the turnover battle and one which is something you don't see that many empty possessions lose turnovers and win. A game just usually doesn't happen now. There's so much going on here because fitzpatrick also gets hurt. Heineke comes in and the offense obviously sputters for washington as well. But i think some good signs for the chargers when you can kind of play like a clunker of a bad game especially on offense and still win. I always think that's like a really good signed. Didn't have to play perfect to win the game and this drive for her at the end. The game is very much in doubt still. And it's like third and fifteen third and twelve like every single difficult situation imaginable. Perfect throw right on the money like throws that. Not a lot of quarterbacks can make in the league that was you know. There were so many statistical performances by quarterbacks that were impressive. Obviously janus has five touchdowns in back in time on thursday night and russell. Wilson was excellent. Like there's so many that you can think of this was one where like the statistics won't tell you that. He was awesome but in a clutch situation in third long. Where a lot of quarterbacks can't complete these throws maybe the most impressive drive the day so definitely worth noting they're like maybe it didn't seem like her takes a step forward by the final score or his stats but he was like insane in the final two minutes of this game. Thirty one or forty seven three hundred. Thirty seven yards for justin. Herbert austin did start the game. Running scored a rushing touchdown in short yardage. Would you like to see if you're a fantasy owner but you don't wanna see no targets in the passing game for us an equitable. See if that's like an anomalies he recovers from his hamstring. The vikings appear to have a pretty favorable matchup to start the season facing joe borough in his first game back from acl surgery but a theme we saw on sunday was a lot of games not going as expected. So take us through. What was going wrong for the vikings and what was going right for the bengals for much of this game. Yeah i think the biggest thing that went wrong for the vikings had to do with the penalties twenty four already. Four penalties is opening drive on the vikings after that holding call. I think that there were. I wanna say five false start. Penalties and five holding penalties along with defensive pass interference. Most of those occurred in the first half but the vikings racked up over ninety yards of penalties. It turns out. They got five sacks on borough they forced the bengals to three and thirteen on third down kind of all the fundamentals that you look for me there were decent in the red zone the fundamentals that you look for like a good defense or even a good offense were there but a lot of penalties just took them back. I mean the first drive of the game. They gained forty yards of offense only gained three yards on the field. I'm sure you know mike zimmer. Being the vikings head coach is notoriously intense probably was extremely relaxed in not furious at all about any of these penalties right. Yeah of course i mean. He just rolls with the punches. T smith also known as china shop which stands for cliff. Hair is still a punk and he did a it was three keys to victory for the steelers so this is kind of kind of part of this as well but i was watching some of those clips last year and my goodness i was watched the offensive line. And it's at the snap of the ball. They had such a big backtrack. They were just getting. i mean. Just bull rushed. Ben rothlisberger catch. Snap throw the ball because the guys were right there. It's like they did did nothing but just give ground give ground and not be physical at all. I'm hoping that's not the case anymore. But when. I said that they're allowed to give up one second. I'll say that's okay. That's because buffalo last year when they got two or more sacks in a game they were eleven in one there are eleven and one last year so those are some things that offense needs to do get ninety yards rushing. Don't turn the ball over and make sure you're protecting ben rothlisberger everything else. It would be great but it wasn't enough of a correlation to say they. It was a really big difference maker to be one of those quote unquote jackpot numbers. So let's the defense fish have a little bit more. The notes three of them so that was three for the offense. Let's look at three for the defense. The defense three hundred okay. This is sparta. no not that. Three hundred three hundred passing yards game last season when buffalo.

"ninety yard" Discussed on Behind the Steel Curtain

"Like i said all they need is one more point than their opponent but what are some things they can do to help. Get there so we're going to look at first. We'll look at that. We'll look at the offense and what i basically was. I looked at twenty twenty trends for both the steelers and the bills. Say if your odds are gonna increase for success if you can do this so let let's kick it off here you go. Let's look at the steelers. let's look rushing yards. I'm gonna give you a number and you're going to be like really. That's all and then i'm going to remind you why now disclaimer. I didn't do passing your words or passing attempts. I did at least two rushing yards because we have to remember the steelers offense although they still have some similar terminology. It's a new offense. It's new offensive coordinator and hopefully more than anything. It's a new offensive philosophy that's ultimately what we want to see steeler fans because that was what was frustrating at times in twenty twenty so this one is a little bit tough it might not fit as much. But i'm going to do this. One based on twenty twenty because the numbers were neat. How about the number of ninety if the steelers can rush for ninety yards or more in this game it will help. Increase their odds of being victorious. Now part of that is that doesn't just been gone. Just run run. Run run run. You want to run effectively but if they get that number it's probably because they're still in a game it's close enough that they can keep running the ball if you if that makes sense to you but your prostate. Why did you come up with a number of ninety in twenty twenty when the steelers rushed for ninety yards or more they were seven no seven times. They rushed the ball ninety yards or more they were seven and oh so and this included the postseason. So if you're looking at a total of seventeen games that means in the other ted that the steelers were five and five ultimately so you're saying wow they were five hundred if they were under ninety yards but they won every game where they went any. Yeah doesn't mean that'll hold true to twenty twenty one but it's a number to start with to say. Hey get that ninety yards rushing and you might have a better chance to win this game okay. So that's one okay. Here's another one. Here's zero zero turnovers for the steelers. I'm not even talking about yet. Turnover margin we'll get there but let's just as the number zero zero turnovers because when you look at that turnover margin okay. Buffalo was six last year when they had a positive turnover margin. Okay if the steelers turn the ball over at all did can't have a positive turnover margin. The best you can do is even so if you hold onto the ball. Then you're taking that a big thing from there away from them the steelers when they had zero turnovers or or was more or less or if they had a turnover margin of zero or more were eleven one k. There are eleven when they were one in four with a negative turnover margin and the only the only game that was was against tennessee. They were i think minus three and they still managed to plus that game which was in tennessee which was crazy so the point is you can't have a negative turnover margin if you don't turn the ball over at all so if the offense takes care of the ball and doesn't have any turnovers you've already done your part so then it's on the defense to to get take away so then you're getting into that positive in that positive turnover margin area area. So you're the thing is is when you're in that negative which means the offense is turning the ball over. That's when you're in trouble so don't turn the ball over game..

He got right into the swing of things and then in the most beautiful golf hole in the history of golf. He took a big boy hack at it and he called this practicing which we do not take into account he did. Knock it off the tee early. Obviously this is a lot of filled a lot of phil but phil. I'd never say it's a foot and a half behind the ball. I don't even know if they would count that as a stroke because of how far behind. Here's our guy chrissy owns the course know. I've never seen that big of a difference between where your club hit ninety obviously slaughtered that one about two three fairways left and this is not a good indication of how phil played the entire day but there was ten guys i was trying to film everybody you know has gone a little different. Every time i was trying to get a good one a fill. Something terrible happen. I mean it was just. I didn't mean to post the dalai. Yeah i typed it up and it accidentally went out push it. Well because honestly that's only footage we have. He had like a three hundred ninety yard drive. Maybe on the last day getting footage of until afterwards like. Hey look where this landed. Which is kind of tough for. I didn't mean for that but at that point we never expected him to have success and he did about the people. "I mean, why the hell are you shooting in now? If you're not going to shoot it in the games don't don't pull a VIN Simmons and do this stuff. In fact that, you know, doing any did you see we got our one three-minute been shipped. Ben Simmons, shooting jumpers. We got it him and relatives together. People often get it you get it. He's still shooting Lefty. He hits two or three of them and everyone's like it looks good. When I will not stop thinking about him. He will not shut off. Can't even get a hold of him. So I don't know about buying. Yes. The Pritchard stuff is real though. That stuff is real, you know, like okay, you know, I like I like that. But what the question is, can we do it? Yes, does he have the sack to do it? Like how much how many if you're a benchmark is one thing but you're thirty? Five Footers is your coach going to going to allow, you know, five maybe not. But this young guy was this guy wasn't scared to shoot last year. And now if he says he's if he's confident that he can step back and extra three or four or five feet. Well, we'll do it. I mean if you give it to him, I think he has no issue taking it. Yeah, I know these kind of issues that I don't know if you catch and shoot from that distance. And again, like I think we're still going to see him in that role next year on the wing more than at the point guard spot. Cuz like who's he going to play over a smart Richardson and Schroeder? That's a lot of laundry. Stevenson my boys. 91 yard touchdown. Yeah. We'll see. That's why that's why I'm thinking, he's trying to add that to wage running back. They drafted. He's a rookie. Yeah. He wants a psyche himself in the rest. I just traded for. I just traded for Harris on the Patriots. So I need all the other Patriots, running backs to not. I need Damon Marrs like ninety yards. Let me say this cuz I know you guys got a buggy, too. And I'm about to do the show. Let's wrap up real quick. Yeah, but let me just give you guys a thing in 30 minutes after the game ends were going up on Patriot's, press pass, our YouTube channel there with the Patriots, postgame, show myself and Evan, Lazar. We were both down in Foxboro. He's still there. He's gotta go dig in and do a job. Interviews here from Mac here from Cam. And then he's going to, he's going to jump on post-game. We're going to go for, you know, as long as whatever. But any of you guys football fans and you want some good analysis, obviously, you know, we were there, having faith is there, you know, charting the plays and, and and keep an eye on the game. He's amazing. Yo, he cannot debate football with him. He would just put you in a buck. He's also, he's, he's pretty free to look at you. Like you're a piece of shit would be like a lot of conviction. So exactly me. Exactly. Yeah wage gives it. He's got he knows what he's talking about. So he knows my God against like a and one of the great things getting to watch their, you do get to see a lot more. Obviously, the vantage point from the Press Box is great because you're seeing everything Verge TV. So you do get to. Okay, that guy was open. He missed the guy there, blahblahblah or whatever and you do definitely see some of that stuff. So you get a good idea of what Mac was looking at there and he had a good game. I think over a dog Press is so we'll hear from Evan and myself..

"Or it's maybe a little bit. And then i can work with that and i know that i have hit my driver well in the past and sometimes it's really hot other times. It's really cold. But i just wanted to cut that out of the equation and just give me give myself two places on the golf course where i can hit good iron shots or i can hit good wedges or can hopefully too but i just didn't want the whole to be over before it started. The comments extensive. That's just that's how you play it to of yours frustrating. Because you were far out. So i like i could see why they'd say like oh my god. This guy has to hit one hundred ninety yard shot onto the green every single hole. But that's we're not trying to hit greens and regulations the thing that they weren't understand what trying to break one hundred that is we weren't trying to make pars out. They were trying to break. So we've talked a lot about on this show. Lurch your the game. Fives where if you if you view every hole as a par five and you make a five on each shoot ninety. Is that what it is about on shoe ninety so i switched that up a little bit. I decided to start playing every hole as one more than it than like if it's a par five. It's par six par for the same. It's basically the same thing and if you it that way. I understand that people were probably frustrated taking hybrid off the tee the whole time but if you view it in that lens that i'm talking about it's no longer as about it's about it's about breaking one hundred about breaking ninety five. It's i understand the people wanna hit the greens and regulation but for a guy in my position. I view it through a different lens. Because it gives you the ability to hit your drive. Hit something up around their chip onto you know and that's all right to the next that's par for like. Yeah he gives you one more shot at getting the green. And i think in uncovered one like the big lies in golf of this whole series of so many people are where you are and the way that you hit. The ball is impressive. Like you pure that hybrid like you just have to offense you just whack. It and a lot of people come home. Everybody's already shoot like mid nineties and they think saw you and your ability and they're like if you might be in a bad spot here so then you get these messages. I think of like having to go out and try to improve my game. Because i saw what you did and i want to do the same. Certainly i've certainly got a lot of feedback with what you're saying. Where oh i thought. I was like a low nineties mid nineties golfer. But i think i'm actually like closer to where you are where you were when this started and on the flip side of that like you don't have to play ball and whole time like don't play golf where you're going to be ballin hole and you're just like grinding over it. To see your score is gonna be. I'm very much advocate. And the show was very much an advocate of go out there play have fun shoot whatever you shoot whatever but people are realizing by watching the series. Where oh i thought. It was a nineties golfer. And i'm probably more like a one zero five to one week golfer right. I put three balls out of bounds..

"On the field man trade sermon as an injury history. So this team to arrive on you and that's why the answer is wayne goldman. Gosh that is not an answer. That is always a question. Okay dynasty trade question from you to been wants to know in dynasty is a ronald jones or at twenty twenty three first round pick i. Oh it's only three now. I i need to remind jason like ronald jones is younger than Than nausea harris and ronald jones was amazing. Last year. I'll take ronald jones year to foreign if it was twenty twenty two. I'd take the first. But i'll have two years of something. Yeah i agree with that too i. I think we said this last year. Because it's just the reality for tampa bay but there will be incredible fancy value at the running back position on tampa bay next year. It's just a matter of identifying from weeks. Four on ronald jones was a thirteen hundred yard. Nine touchdown running back that you know caught thirty four passes from week four. That's his seventeen game pay so and then they're like playoffs comets important Eleni up saved him. He was hurt. He got hurt at the end of the year. Miss two games i just highlighting on the field is five point one carry for the entire year. No he's he's a good runner dynamic running back yard. Nine yard touchdown will help your yards per carry. Well shirt thank goodness. He can do that this fair. I could've used a few of those. Yeah he really could have clogged deal. Man i steal ronald knocking out of ninety ardor. I've i've answered this question before as far as like players are voiding. The buccaneers backfield is one. The there's just no value. That i want them this year. That changes if it's best ball. Because i do think i think you're right. There will be a lot of value to the running game of tampa mike. Are you taking ronald jones. Or melvin. gordon. Oh my goodness Probably melvin jason. You ronald jones. Or mike davis Think about that for a minute. I'm taking mike davis and melvin gordon. Ronald are damian harris. Jason ronald jones jones is going ahead of fornet in-draughts not by a lot. He's going pretty high so okay. Let's go here ravens. Wide receiver question from dominic which ravens wide receivers the best value this year man. That's a really funny question. So weird question like it's like if you buy three meals that none of them fill you up and none of them taste very good like which is the best value. Talk that way. it's hollywood. I mean he's the only one. I think that will behind payment doesn't matter i mean i don't think bateman has a better season than hollywood and neither one of them are being drafted highly. So that's you know that's the other part of the value equation but the value. I mean if the value is like a ninth round of eighth around in a twelfth round than you know. It's like an a keeper question. He's just throw those out if they're all poor picks it the value. Isn't there. Curtis samuel or hollywood curtis samuel best friend of ryan fitzpatrick. come on. We saw the board. Yeah they're going around the same range. Oh that's sell. it's easy what i like. That is that is the answer. The best value is ravens. Is curtis samuel. Heard it here i am. I wanted to point out that you are giving up something to try to find the value on baltimore. All right dynasty download dynasty download. Now's my head. I don't know why. I didn't sign off on this. I didn't approve the usage of my image. In that incredible. You'll be here for my lawyer. Yeah yeah. I'm suing myself. Who has anyone ever done that. I'm sure yeah that's got somebody's. This is a dynasty average opposition riser. We want to talk about michael. Carter running back for the jets. Five seven to a one fourth round. Pick he's been a more attention has been thrown on to michael carter. Recently beat writers in new york. Say it's just a matter of time until he ends up taking over that job. I hope he still represents a value on draft day when they come or an you know when draft day comes around because right now he certainly is. He's my favorite kind of sleeper of the rookie class. But what are your thoughts on mr michael. His ap rising makes sense. his landing. spot was great. That was one of the teams that we wanted one of the big names to go to because it was such a good easy depth chart depth chart to overcome. Tevin coleman adept tart. Adept tar. Net sounds delicious. Manana toaster a little butter on it. Oh man call. And then you get yourself michael carter. Michael carter michael carter. Oh very nice no michael. Turner a bakery science degree from some. Isn't that what you wanted. That is what. I want a bakery science degree. But the landing spot says that he'll he'll have opportunity because tevin coleman is worth head of him and is awful and is injured and is always injured. However i still don't expect the team to be that great. He is not a breakaway back. That's going to have the ninety yard. Touchdown runs so. I do see michael carter with an opportunity but my projection is more of a devin singletary and on a worse often so i don't know that he's going to be great ever. I think seven calm and you can steal some weeks. He's going to go so late and drafts. And he's gonna start week one as the first snap out of the backfield so if you wanna steal a few weeks of productivity if you're if you invested in other rookie running backs and I think kevin coleman you're just gonna steal few weeks before michael carter takes over but i like him. I think that line might end up impressing people this year. They still got away to go where they got some great pieces on that offensive line. It'll come down to is zack. Wilson gonna check it down to michael carter and just like off of wilson's final year. I don't i you can't just say that's going to be a layup that he's going to do it pregnant. Check it down and coleman. Oh gosh rose somebody aground just bought it just kick it away me but the thing is is my carter's very good pass catcher. That's where i think. If he's going to break out in his rookie season it came with that. It will only come because he is utilize in the passing game phenomenally. And if he's not then it won't come all right. We wanna pristine auction sport in the show today. Justin jefferson signed footballs. It's up there on auction for fifty two dollars and fifty cents right now. That ends on wednesday. "So you know he's going to be the number one he's going to be the best Receiver on the team long-term so He's going to be without a doubt. The only issue that i would see him as far as getting more yards and touchdowns is we run the ball. I see him getting thrown at between five to eight times on the regular per game and it's probably going to go up depending or down even depending on the situation so but definitely more productive year out of. Yeah he had seven. Forty eight last year with sixty receptions five. Tv's so At all i say receptions I would be he. I could see a fifteen more reception. So at seventy five seventy five receptions. Let me ask reformers the because this all this receiver talking needs to be preference by saying that. The george kittle. Is the number one target on this team. I think that that's no question. George kittle is receiver number. What but to me. You think he gets over. You think he gets thousand and becomes our first receiver to get a thousand cents. I say because. I think it like with the postseason Point twenty if we're just running the ball down throat everybody throat game. Four or five yards a carry. Why are we throwing it you but if you have the saints game we gotta come back a word and shoot out those up. So it all depends on temple. He has the ability. If we're gonna open up the ball up out of the game. Okra the offense more you know is there. I think he has the ability to do so. I would say he probably look paid for who we out. He's not gonna close at south yards. Full there's not unless he has like four five ninety yard yours have five yard plus out. We've got a question right here. "So antonio for people who don't follow college football super closely. Who is dorrie and thompson robinson is. Ucla's starting quarterback right now dopson robinson with the at dow field by called entity. Stay off. yes. He did touchdown. Ucla he's a guy's guy who can run you can throw. You recently have long conversation with during his mother about the families football journey to get a sense of what it takes to raise a blue chip quarterback these days so first of all tell us a little bit about during mother mel the thompson robinson. She's a professor at unlv. And i know. She took a very big role in raising doreen and helping them go to this journey. She separated with his father. She's kind of the one who is doing most of the heavy lifting. He has a sister as well such as the family who seems very self aware all right so when did the families. Football journey begin. So you know. Football is almost year round this prisoner. Sophomore year he played some receiver than towards his judy. That's when he was solely focusing on quarterback. There's not a lot of available quarterback trainers in las vegas so he had to travel the phoenix to some work. Done glow to seem as quarterback coach very often. Because of the like once a year he actually worked with in person. One year never wait. Dr been shared with his coach. And then they would you know talk about it or you know. They would go through his game film or other film and just talk about like. What are the things that you should be looking at which you should be doing. So i assume that this private quarterback coaching he was getting was fairly pricey. What other expenses was his family taking on as dorian was coming up through high school. Yeah there's that tuition and schools during bishop gorman in las vegas twelve thirteen thousand dollars a year you. We were paying for camp in spirit packs. You know the team travels dollars right there. NFL explains why there was no pass interference called on play that eliminated Saints

"We're going to. We're going to make football show because that's what people like over the weekend. Everybody who listens to this show presumably watched all of the football games or most of all of the football guess. He missed the playoffs playoff in Hawaii. The yes I missed that one Justin Thomas I saw this morning. I thought it was really nice but I missed it last last night because it came on pretty late We're going to do you because the ratings of the NFL up all across the board because the interest in the NFL is up all across the board and because each of those those games was quite interesting in its own way including terrible terrible. Coaching decisions by both coaches in the Houston Buffalo Game. We're going to talk about out this for an extended period of time in the first segment. Michael Wilbon will join us in second segment. We're GONNA limit news and go right to old guy where we're going to talk about the Golden Globes and the matchups for next week. That's what we're going to the show probably the same length. But I WANNA do it if you don't mind I WANNA do it that way also. WanNa thank Clarendon Tola for Baking Cooke's for Claire Gary Braun Chris Cillizza Michael Kornheiser Nigel. Who has nothing to do except for on the boards because we're not sleep keeps pressing one button? So He's been news cancelled forever now just today. If you don't mind especially the best thing is not gonNa work out just I you know I'm old and I thought why not like Michael said to me last night we were talking about the possibility of of Michael. Are you shaking your head. You don't want me to. Would you go ahead down the fourth wall. People talking about Mike Lees. I won't share this on air dead. Yeah go ahead Michael Says Cillizza how how do we get rid of him. Nicely to the change in the show today. I let's start. Let's start with yesterday's which is going to go backwards. I'm just can start with the Minnesota game because of all the games the end result of that game is the most surprises so like I said on the PTI show on Friday. I'll take Tennessee. Plus Five Live and a half all day and all night doesn't mean I think they're gonNA win. I'm GONNA take those points New Orleans. Losing at home in overtime to Minnesota is stunning drew. BREES did not have a great game he had a very bad fumble in drive. That could have changed in the fourth quarter changed. Everything around. He got picked never gets picked. I mean he did not have a great game. There are three quarterbacks forty years old and up over the weekend and they all lost. We'll get to that but even with brees not having a great game. They tied the game. They got into overtime there at home and they yielded the first drive. That's it see around. see you around Kirk cousins who. I am extraordinarily critical of on a regular basis was very good and kirk cousins to Adam Adam field and had to make up for fumble early. You know but I don't feel did that pass. That wins the game. Now there's a third downplay because what you don't want to do is have to kick a field goal because because you don't want to give New Orleans the ball on the one. Yeah you don't WanNa do that. On the third downplay they go in the left. Hand top corner of the end zone to Kyle Rudolph is about twelve aid aide just like that and by the way quickly give cousins credit. That was a terrible snap. The snap his way to his right he basically knocks it with his right hand. Quickly gathers it because you it's all timing and throws a faith throws the fate and Rudolf reaches up. He's much taller than defender and he gets it in the process of doing that he pushes off. There's no question he pushes off. Does it rise to the level of offensive pass interference for me in a playoff game and I have to give context here. New Orleans has tragically lost in Hoon's replay off games in a row cheated in one cheated by by their own stupidity in another with defensive back and I mean I honestly either call offense a pass. Interference would have so I did not I mean I I watched the play. Did Not in real time necessarily see the wrangle back is in front of your Reina Vision Right. So they call it a touchdown a apparently appropriately to me and then you see the replay and and I did think to myself. Like oh my goodness could they. Could they possibly possibly overturn this. I mean it. And we've all seen their explanation and said there was handed both sides. It didn't rise to level pass interference. I mean I'm sorry by no objective measure to me was that not pass interference and in fact is in fact a couple hours later they called the same thing on hollister tight end from. I'm from Seattle and on much less meaningful circumstance but I mean I just felt like the league. We're getting out of the way this one. I mean there's no way every time it's the UNCANNY situational right. We know this. It's like it's like a Games are raft. Basketball game is reverend different right. The game is rough differently in the last thirty seconds than it it is and that's situationally you cannot. I don't think when I watched it and I watched the replay. He pushed off a little bit. Did it it was. It did not to me anyway. I think I disagree with you. Guys did not to me look agree. Gis I think Rudolph was bigger. The defensive back had his back this business. Being that push back. Chris Locate fully extends. I think it was his left arm. Yeah if he is allowed to do that he catches that ball. A hundred injured time. He cannot be defended. Unless you play. Just there's so many calls they show throughout the game when they every time on a pass Where not every time? Seventy percent of the time on a pattern when they show the slow motion the other guy. The the DB is has his arm wrapped around around the guy's waist or is holding. His arm gets there. I just think it's very subjective. That's fine but I agree with that but I would also agree that the saints should not be shafted million better cost the saints again. Plenty of opportunities it. Certainly when you were watching the game I ah in the flow of it and when tased him hill like in three straight plays a three-stroke they score a touchdown. Now it's twenty seventeen right gary to have that right was twenty. I needed to twenty twenty twenty seven hundred twenty and then they get back they get it back and take some hill like three times. Basically the the one where he runs to the left where it looks like. He's tackled and he spins runs for thirty arts. Well they're definitely going to win then. And then brees fumbled. I mean it was very i. I lost fumbling. The ball get hit. No sort of this is arm gets hit a little bit. I'm sorry I'm busy trying to reconstruct your show on the fly without telling you so allowed back in so so tension is good for the show is for Knuckleballer To to to tie it up. What was the forty nine yard or from lots? They're kicking it through. Yeah man that went about now three feet off the ground and easier kick at the end of the first half a ball Games kick forty something already three but that's an easier kick so that game. Let me say one other thing about that game as someone who was a kirk cousins fan when he was here. I'm not going to criticize Kirk. Cousins played fine. He was he was great in that last. Drive the drive. If they lose the haters are going to look at that stat line that would have been seventeen of twenty nine hundred and ninety yards picked and he didn't do anything bad. Oh he had a good game and the pass was just
