Things happening right now ace and downs weekend radio one this week in which I'm performing fall, which is a privileged coming on that line hopeful amongst call call some black coffee and. Full TAT silo just be amongst those names is incredible and the we've just announced at greenfields? Twenty one. And I've been announced. You know was her. Headliners. Along with every wanted, you can imagine from chess those who Pete Tong to by SAP. So it's got gotta be a critical viewing Yeah Yup definitely Gino. I don't think I'll ever get used to it. So see my name. In with all all the people that you aspire to be as big as good as i. certainly don't think I'll ever get used to it so. Good though man I think if you ever do start to get used her, that's maybe awarding side. I think. So I think so and I think that my my opinion on the always will I do genuinely believe it will stay. The same as were the finish line right from the start and not just we do this for the logo passion. So nothing should change on along the road rarely should shouldn't. Yes. No, you're absolutely right I mean I think that's a great attitude to have from the outset of it. I mean it's interesting hearing you talk about the the BBC weekend and all that because I think you know here in America that's like that's a reference. I think a lot of Americans, don't really have because we don't have an entity like BBC radio Y. Wall Street Week Ahead: After monster rally, investors cautious as U.S. recovery wobbles

"We start with that monster rally on Wall Street today the SNP up more than one and a half percent and the Dow jumping over four hundred points. As you can see there, the Nasdaq also up nearly two percent leading those markets, higher energy stocks, financials, and the small caps as well. Investors appearing hopeful a new deal for stimulus is coming down the Pike but markets are still down significantly for the month does today's action give you a reason to perhaps be more optimistic and for that perhaps I I will turn to you first. dominated. Welcome. It's always wonderful to have you on board got a bonus hour with you. So that's fantastic and you know I think the answer. Your question is yes but you can't say that in a vacuum something we talked about over the last couple of weeks was you probably see a short term market bottom on a day the market sells off and the volatility index sells off with it and you actually saw that. Over a few days, NOP can speak to this vicks topped out around thirty six, and as the market was selling off, the VIX was selling off down to the twenty five and a half level that gave you a pretty good indication that maybe we were going to bottom. I mentioned that because one of the things we said now for a while off that low that we made a week and a half or two. Weeks ago the obvious move at this point was probably a moved back to the prior all time high of thirty, three, ninety, three that we made back in February and Steve can speak to this because now does that make sense for that reason it also makes sense because it would be a text book, fifty percent correction of the recent, all time high and the low. We made a couple of weeks ago. So the. Answer is yes. But let's see what happens when we get there and when I say when because I do think we're GONNA rally another forty or so snp handles. All right. So Steve, let's bring you in because guy teed it up for you. There is this level is this a market right now the action you've seen that makes you feel as though you're comfortable being long comfortable putting new money to work right now. So I know everyone wants to have that gut instinct of being positive on the overall market and this market has shown you nothing. But positively, because that gap tom is closing from the corona bottom to when we finally actually restart the economy. But you talked about a couple of levels, fifty percents I'm sorry, the fifty day moving average I heard you talking about today on air thirty, three, fifty, three. So we closed right around that level that's why people are keying in on that level where did we bounce from the hundred day moving average which was thirty, two tech? So this is technically A great set up to play it for a bounce. But the problem is we still have what the problem was. We have an overbought market granted. We work that awful just a little bit. But what has been the most overbought the tech space the most bloated names, those six or ten names that we all focus on. Doesn't mean that. Have not. Rally doesn't mean that other sectors have doubt rally. But it's time to take a pause because the market and the economy or two totally different things. A lot of volatility going forward the biggest thing for me dumb month end quarter in this week. So I heard. I heard it was mentioned prior to us on closing bell I still think it's a big deal I. still think people were under weight energy. We had emanate today I still think people are underweight financials. We saw those rally today what sold off what rallied into month and I think that's what you have to keep an eye on. Let's see if it lasts a week or so Tim Seymour over the last week over the last five days of looking at our screens here it says that the big one of the bigger cloud computing. Is Up over three percent semiconductors that particular ETF the ticker SMH look at a lot is up over three percent right now for five trading days, we also saw financials and energy to Steve's point lead the rally today. So those are two different parts of the market both assuming some kind of leadership role does that then mean that there is this kind of all clear signal, the bad and the good are going up at the same time. Downgrade having you getting me to say you've got an all clear signal is something that's tough to do But I I hear where you are, and if you look at the triple cues and the Nasdaq one hundred, you've rallied almost six percent over three sessions. The semi's which they have multiple times over the last couple of years and certainly coming out of the worst dacoven to have have certainly been a leader and something to follow it. In fact, they've they've kind of lead the way. So both of these are now back over the fifty Todd Gordon will be your to talk some. Of the technicals and a bit, but you're talking about the broadening of the market and to the extent that maybe you're excited today about the move in retail and in small caps and along with that with the banks, and if you look at the European banks were up over three and a half percent. So these are the parts of the mark that I think people wanna see the good news for all investors. So back to at least where you've had an all clear and where I don't think anything has changed is the guys who talked about some oversold conditions I have to do that I. Think. The Nasdaq can contract can correct further down and I I mentioned kind of those late June early July levels but the Fed is still very much your I think the payroll numbers this weaker are going to give you some sense of where the labor market certainly is going to need a lot more fiscal health than just with monetary policy is but I think you've got a case where you've at least seen parts of the economy. Especially, the transports give you a lot of reason for confidence in terms of leadership and they lead you on the way down from two thousand, eighteen to. Twenty thousand nine hundred and transports have been outperforming the market for the last almost four months now. So many key bellwether esque type parts of the market that we're watching right now. So I'M GONNA turn now to Pete and Jerry, and I know that you're on the news line with us right now at CNBC let's talk a little bit about what you're seeing in terms of trading action there is there something that makes you feel as though this is a constructive environment or are we do for a little bit more consolidation perhaps even some more discount pricing in the coming weeks ahead of the election. Well I certainly could see the consolidation side of it. Tom. This. Also though in the derivatives world where I live I gotTA. Tell you something a lot of bullish activity over recent weeks and and it just continues to come come in now A. Lotta that short term today we are seeing a little bit longer term type offer. Options that we were seeing whether we're buying in major indices. So I'm not even just talking specific names or whatever. I'm just talking about indifferent indices across the board we're seeing some buying. So it felt like a bullish tone potentially, but not as much short-term as we had been seeing that makes it a little bit more interesting because it's very easy to sit there in the very short term in. This movement that we are seeing but to commit to buy those kind of premiums that you've got to to be able to go out to January and December that says a lot more about what the what, what they really are feeling those very large buyers out there in the marketplace. So volatility guy brought this up and I just have to address this real quick volatility was selling off all day. It was doing early then it started to sell off. We actually nearly closed on the absolute lows of the session, which was pretty interesting to see how that volatility index was coming down as market came down from being up five hundred down to four hundred yourself. A lot of different things going on right now. But certainly, there are sectors that I'm impressed with the do lead us a little bit. More so out where we have been recently light transports like material and a few other names I like seeing what we thought financial today. But that's one day. We haven't been able to see financial foot back to back to back days together for a very long period of time. So that nothing I think we got to watch very very closely. All

Apple's Beta Effect

"Have my notes, the Beta effect to talk about, and what that is is with with with going from fourteen fourteen to fourteen one, which we believe made for iphone twelve, and that's why we're not getting that. We also believe fourteen to was made before the final version of fourteen point zero and so when you update to fourteen point to. You can't use the new blood oxygen sensor APP on the Apple Watch because it requires your phone to have the version to do something with the data and so my watch on seven point zero watch os before was on fourteen two I couldn't do the oxygen singer tests I. Guess You have to accept the health disclaimers and stuff upfront right? That's probably and it saves it there too like the background. Readings where they go. So I think should say it must save on your watch before like if you're out and about without your phone, it's back into some pretty sure and then he just sinks him up. Right. Yeah. Yeah. So but it's like ekg where you've gotta you've gotTa have the version match up to support it and we need when you like started in the health app on the phone does it Does have that like. Explain urine like disclaimers like it does when you do EKG yeah I don't recall I. Mean there is an I button for information on the readout on the watch explains thing like ninety and above is pretty good. You've got kind of hunt for it to find that I think it should be like under the readout not at an disclosure button but I think. The reason is they didn't get medical sign off on the sensor because they call a wellness not medical, right? Yeah. So they have to be very careful about how they present this information and we respect about spending Keno after the show like. is kind of silly at the moment you just get this number and then you're kind of left your and devices about what to do about it but they haven't go FDA approved the weather you know the necessary. Regulatory. Accreditation they need to be able to make more defined choices like they can with Iki the cagey where if it does detect potential arrhythmia a directly sound on the screen you know go talk to your doctor about it like they don't have that same flexibility with with the blackhawks jeans and that's why in the event they would say like we aren't doing studies about blood oxygen and Covid, nineteen. The Apple Watch has a blood oxygen sensor lie they never would linked together because. The purchase self. So the the APP on the watch is very nice I. Mean we saw the animation from the event on seeing it in person it's lovely. It's blue and red. It's like blood arteries. And it as fifteen seconds to run it to do an like an act of measurement and. As you near like say three seconds it becomes it begins to form a circle of completion and it's just so delightful. How how looks You do see the last. Measurement in the APP itself. So if you go just launch it, you'll see the last say passive measurement that picked up. So you might say like when our three hours ago. And That's neat. So it's more data than than just here do or read out. Your readings to be like. Consistent enough that you think it's good because I've seen some reviews like I've been getting some resource I get ninety, six, hundred lights will have the place. So I don't really trust it. Yeah. Well. Not How to. Read. Out. That was like you're below ninety. And then I had one that was like you're you're in the ninety range than I would maybe be concerned but I've seen the rains be from ninety three to one hundred back to back tends to be pretty consistent for me. Washington Post. They had an issue where they tried different watches and bands and just could not it to work the right way have had that experience. Sensor depends on like your skin and You know. The Senate doesn't work if you've got tattoos for instance so. Different reasons and stuff like transparent basically. So it's you know. No Job for it. And if there was an issue like despite being review watched, that's the point of this talk about the experience I would mention in trust me. I mean lot with the series five hours of disinterested and reviewing because of an issue that had which I read about instead. Of. The. Battery Life So. I've been on this one fine. Yeah. A lot of people have have had shoes with seven on their existing watches having less better life than they had before I have had that and I don't know what the clear processes take restores instead of his new

Huang's Law, the New Moore's Law?

"It got all lost in the scramble of other news but remember invidia bought arm and that's a pretty big deal. So to pieces about that, I let me introduce you to. Some, people see as the new Moore's law and it might explain why Invidia is doing what it's doing quoting Chris Mims in the Wall Street Journal who I believe has actually coined the term quote as chipmakers have reached the limits of atomic scale circuitry and the physics of electrons Moore's law has slowed and some say it's over but a different law potentially, no less consequential computing's next half century has arisen. I call it wings law after INVIDIA Chief Executive and Co founder Jensen Wang it describes how the silicon chips that power artificial intelligence more than double in performance. Every two years while the increase can be attributed to both hardware and software it. Steady progress makes it a unique enabler of everything from autonomous cars, trucks, and ships to the face voice and recognition in our personal gadgets between November twenty twelve and may performance of nvidia chips increased three hundred and seventeen times for an important class of a calculation says Bill Daley chief scientists and Senior Vice President of research at Nvidia on average in other words, the performance of these chips more than doubled every year a rate of progress that makes Moore's law pale in comparison and quote. And then also from the Journal, a portrait of Jensen Wang and his founding and stewardship of Invidia as the company has. Just exploded in all sorts of ways. In videos market value has soared to three hundred and nineteen point, eight billion dollars surpassing Intel's valuation of two hundred and fourteen point five, billion dollars even though INVIDIA had ten point nine, two, billion in annual sales in its latest fiscal year compared with seventy one, point nine, seven, billion for Intel. Videos bet on some of the hottest fields, INTECH video gaming and artificial intelligence have fueled investor enthusiasm. While Intel has stumbled with some of its most advanced chips, it's all a long way from nineteen ninety-three when Mr Huang. Dreamed up in video on his thirtieth birthday at a Denny's in San Jose California with two like minded engineers they bet on a future where consumers demanded better computer graphics, which would require specialized high performance hardware that wasn't available at the time and

How Big Oil Misled The Public Into Believing Plastic Would Be Recycled

"How did millions of Americans come to believe that most plastic would be recycled when that's not actually true Laura Sullivan is GonNa take the story from here. Okay, it seemed like a good place to start was the plastic industry they make the stuff. Did they know the truth about recycling plastic? I headed to one of the birthplaces of plastic plastic comes from oil. But really comes from the dupont chemical company and some of the plastic industries old records are housed in the Hagley Library. It's this stone building on the grounds of the first dupont family home in Delaware. This is a place that actually used to store sodium nitrate back when Dupont made gunpowder not plastic. There's an archivist with a bow tie a handlebar moustache named Lucas Clawson, and he looks like someone would make cocktails. Lucas wheeled out a cart of boxes. Thank you. Wrap there were a couple of clues about recycling inside the boxes from the industry's most powerful lobby group at the time the Society of the plastics industry their job was to lobby for the big oil and plastic companies. So think Exxon Chevron Dow Dupont. And there's this one memo from one, thousand, nine, hundred, seventy, three, the. Movement is just being born, and one of the top people in the plastics industry is talking about how the cost of sorting plastic is high but it seemed like a lot of the documents were were missing I find reference to a memo a report, but then I noticed that someone had drawn a line through it Lucas. Can I ask you a question absolute. Okay. Why? In this section are all. These APPS. So many of these. Cross out because those records are no longer. Here anymore day or not where did they go the society of the Plastics Industry Astra them back think they really yes is an unusual. That doesn't happen often. Do you do know why they took them. Did they say? I, do not know. Okay Of course, there are all kinds of reasons why an industry lobbying group might want. It's records back I did call society the plastic folks and ask them if I could see the records they took they said No. So I headed to another library this time at Syracuse University and they're buried in its tax, our boxes of files donated from an industry consultant. Actually the industry consultant died in the why found the boxes and gave them to Syracuse and inside these boxes. I found what I was looking for a report was sent to top oil and plastic executives in nineteen seventy three. It says, recycling plastic is nearly impossible. There is no recovery from obsolete products. It says recycling is costly sorting. It is infeasible plus it says plastic degrades every time you try to reuse it. So the oil in plastic industry new, they've known for almost fifty years. and. Then I found more confidential memos in meetings echoed decades of this knowledge insight thousands of pages of courtroom discovery. There's a speech from an industry insider in nineteen seventy four when it comes to recycling large quantities plastic, it says there is quote serious doubt that it can ever be made viable on an economic basis. Now. Okay. Sure. Anyone can take something plastic melted down and make something else. But what these documents are saying is that it's expensive, it's time consuming it's chemically problematic and it's just cheaper and easier to make plastic out of new oil instead of plastic trash there are all kinds of names in these documents men who have never spoken publicly before and there was one name I kept seeing over and over he. was, giving speeches at fancy hotels, hosting conferences and Berlin. Phoenix, they called him a bigwig. He was the industry's top lobbyist. Larry Thomas this is the man I had to find but do you know how many Larry Thomas's there are in the United? States. Thousands I'd call say are you the Larry Thomas used to work in plastics? Are you leery Thomas who used to be president of the Society of the plastics industry? And then finally, I'll prompt Merrin the plastics industry no getting around it the BIGWIG himself I'll walk. Do that's for sure. Yeah. My personal views certainly didn't always job with. US I had the quake as part of my job. That's the way it was there. He's retired now on the coast of Florida but I told him I've been reading all about his exploits in the world of plastic. Where would the offices the officers were? What would you think they would be K. Street yes. Twenty Five K. Street Casey was the heart of lobbying in Washington and it was in those offices at top executives in the world's most powerful oil and plastic companies met they had meeting after meeting about a little problem they were having there was just too much plastic trash consumers didn't like it. In one of the documents I found from nineteen nine, hundred nine Larry wrote the top oil executives at Exxon Chevron, Amoco Dow Dupont proctor, and gamble in a bunch of others he wrote the image of plastics is deteriorating at an alarming rate. We are approaching a point of no return. The classic. I was under fire. We gotta do. What it takes to take the heat off. Because we want to continue to make classic equality, they wanted to keep making plastic but the more you make the more plastic trash you get and the obvious solution to this is to recycle it but they knew they couldn't remember it's expensive. It's a great. Discussion about how difficult it was to recycle. They knew that the infrastructure wasn't there. So really have recycling amount to a whole lot. So they needed a different plan. Larry Decides to call a bunch of meetings at fancy hotels. He summons the Society of the plastics people executives Larry doesn't remember the specifics of each particular meeting but one of his deputies at the time Lou Freeman he remembers you could. Get. Back all the layers of my brain. Lou, remembers a bunch of meetings the basic question on the table was. You guys you're our trade association in the plastics industry aren't doing enough. We need to do more. This one dupont executive was telling Lou. It's your job to fix plastics imaging problem. So what do you need? You said, I think if we had five million dollars. which seemed like a lot of money. If we had five million dollars we could. We could. We could solve this problem. And My boss said in response. If you add five million dollars, you would know how to spend it effectively. Well, they came up with a way to spend five million dollars that and a lot more I. Remember this. This is one of these exchanges that sticks with me thirty five years later however long it's been. Anna was You know what we need to do is advertise our way out of it. That was the idea thrown out. The industry decided to advertise its way out of a can't recycle it problem. The possibilities off plastics plastics. From dense. Touted the benefits of a product that after it was used for the most part was headed to a landfill incinerator or even ocean. Look empty yet it's anything but trash it's full of potential. These commercials carried an environmentalist message, but they were paid for by the oil and plastic companies eventually leading to fifteen million dollars a year industrywide ad campaign promoting plastic. So I asked Larry why why spend tens of millions of dollars telling people to recycle plastic when the new recycling plastic wasn't going to work? and. That's when he said it. The point of the whole thing if the public thinks so recycling is working. Then they're not going to be concerned about the environment and if they're not concerned about the environment. Though keep buying plastic it wasn't just Larry in lieu who said this I spoke to half a dozen top guys involved in the industry at the time who all said plan was unfolding and it went beyond at the industry funded recycling projects and local neighborhoods expensive sorting machines that didn't make any economic sense school recycling contests. All of this was done with great fanfare. except I decided to go track down almost a dozen of the industry's biggest projects like the one where they were going to recycle plastic and national parks or the one that was going to recycle all the plastic and school lunches in New York they all failed and disappeared quietly but there was one more part of this campaign, the final piece that did stick around. That recycling symbol with the numbers in the middle this symbol has. So. Much confusion about what is and is not recyclable in the plan to stamp it on every plastic item popped up a lot in the documents I learned of a quiet campaign to lobby almost forty states to require that every single plastic item have this symbol stamped on it. Even if there was no way to economically recycle it, I should note that some. Environmental is also supported. The symbol thinking would help, separate and sort plastic but the industry knew the truth the symbols were causing problems. Warm report told executives in July nineteen ninety-three that the symbol is being misused. It's creating quote unrealistic expectations about what plastic people can recycle. It's being used as a green marketing tool, but the executives decided to keep the symbol anyway. I did reach out to plastic industry folks and they said that the symbols were only meant to help sort plastic and that they were not intended to confuse people but the symbol in the ads in the projects, all of this basically convince people Larry says the idea that the vast majority of plastic can be recycled was sinking in. Say that. After a while the atmosphere seems to change I. Don't know whether it was because people thought that recycling has solved the problem. was that they were just so in love with plastic products that they were willing to overlook the environmental concerns that were were mounting up. It's been thirty years now since most of those plans have been put into place and the public's feelings about plastic have started to shift again, people are reading stories about oceans choked with plastic trash and trace amounts of this stuff inside our bodies, and once again, people are wanting to ban plastic and the survival of the oil companies is at stake.

No Going Back to Normal with Guillermo del Toro, Zack Arnold and Laine Trzinski"

"Welcome to our podcast. It's where we asked some of the entertainment industry's brightest minds how Hollywood might reinvent itself as it comes out of the pandemic coming up filmmaker Guillermo del Toro. But first, we ask our guests in every episode, what they would do to fix Hollywood and we've talked with actors, directors, executives, and writers. But, what about the people on the frontlines the below the line workers as they're called in the business, they do vital work behind the scenes and they have a lot to say about what needs to change Hollywood is going to thrive after the pandemic members of the gig economy people that are creative professional's in. Hollywood, we're essentially chewed up and we are spit out. We are treated like we are widgets we are commodities that can be replaced. That's Zach Arnold he's a film and TV editor. He's worked on shows like empire burn notice and glee he got a lot of attention for a blog post he wrote about what could happen when production resumes the title Dear, Hollywood? We don't WANNA go back. To normal normal wasn't working. It had come from me having hundreds of conversations with people that all said the same thing because of the pandemic I had this immense amount of self awareness of how much I hated my life before all this started. Now that I'm not driving I realized how much I hated my commute now that I'm not working eighteen hours, I realized how much time I lost with my children and I received hundreds upon hundreds of responses I'm still getting them, and I still can't sift through all of them. Arnold's blog is called optimize yourself and gives advice about work life balance, which is really important in an industry that is notorious for grueling hours with no guarantee of steady employment. Arnold shares a story that he heard from film editor Walter Merch, he worked on the Godfather and apocalypse. Now, it was a famous story back in the mid to late seventies about a film that was vastly over budget and had very tight deadlines and everybody was just getting pushed to the limit with twenty hour days and they went to one of the heads of post production at Universal Studios and said, we have to do something about these demands. Everybody is dropping like flies and the response was get more flies. Nothing has changed in the last forty years. It's all about everybody having to create a miracle such that today's Miracle Dust becomes tomorrow's expectation and whatever it takes however many people it takes to figure this out they throw people at the problem and as soon as somebody can't deliver anymore they find somebody else that will and I think this is a systemic issue that needs to change, and if ever there was a time to figure it out I think it's right now the most immediate problem with that get more flies solution is that if someone on test positive for coronavirus, it isn't simply a matter of replacing that person one infected crew member could shut down an entire production. And the safety protocols that you need to prevent that that requires time and attention and money. So what we can't do a separate, the conversation of safety from the conversation of ours because the two are inextricably linked. If you're going to have a safer set, you need to have people that are healthy that have strong immune systems that are not sleep deprived. That are working regular hours. I don't know why it has gotten to a point where. We do work such long hours when honestly to have any sort of life, we shouldn't Laney trubisky is one of the many industry gig workers who read Zak's blog post she's a hairstylist and she's been in the business since nineteen ninety-three. But back in March when the pandemic hit her work stopped Gosh, it's just been ups and downs my feelings change every single day I'm not sure if I even willing to remain in the film business. Because the film business, we had before very stressful and was very hard on a lot of families and people and things have to change their for sure the hours for her makeup teams some of the longest onset they have to be there before the actors arrive and can't leave until the actors are done. Laney says the norm are fourteen or sixteen hour days, and she has worked for twenty four hour days in her career, but she's hopeful. Things will get better. There's so much time entailed in getting our disinfecting right before we even get to work and get to working on the actors that the film business is going to have to slow down I. Don't think it has a choice anymore, and I, think it will be beneficial for all of us. Laney's work requires her to be on set but people like Editors Zach? Arnold. Well, they can do a lot of their work from home. As long as their bosses sign off, just had the conversation this week with an assistant editor who was told that in order for them to be able to keep their job, they have to work in the office and they have to go into a screening room with ten or fifteen directors and producer. They can take notes because that's just the way that it is in its quote unquote impossible to. Work from home we've now learned that's not the case and people are just making these excuses number one because they don't want to put in the effort or number two because they don't Wanna spend the money but guess what disruption is uncomfortable, it is painful but this is the point where we're going to have to fix these issues because you can't just say to somebody sorry informed the standards or we're. Going to hire somebody else while it might have been possible in the past for the people doing the hiring to point to a pile of resumes and say, if you don't do this job, someone else will arnold says that's changing. Now there's nobody on that stack because nobody's willing to go in under these circumstances and that is why I think Cova such an inflection point for post for Hollywood generals that. Before whenever we've thought about what are the consequences? Well, it's going to be really long days and I'm going to be really sleep deprived and something might happen. But what are the chances now we're literally talking about losing our lives if we do this wrong and I think that is the big change that we're seeing just emotionally the groundswell is people saying your entertainment is not worth me giving my life.

PC the vote for impeachment was held passed along mostly party lines bringing in the impeachment inquiry from behind closed doors and into the lights of public hearings those public hearings beginning of course next week but a lot has changed in the ensuing there in the intervening time and of course we turn to Dr route to help untangle an arm we've the complex cities of the impeachment process the focus of this week's edition over into the matter this is the will to the matter you're listening to Saturday night on the circle and I'm your host even Hatcher joined by Dr David professor of political science at the university of Indianapolis okay so impeachment it's still been proceeding behind closed doors for the time being but of course it's going to be put into public at the beginning of next week Republicans had the deadline to submit their requests for subpoenas by Friday to Adam shift and and that's what they did so be it tells about impeachment Dr what's been going on well like you said the a public hearings are going to start next week and I'll be two on Wednesday with bill Taylor and George can't then one on Friday with Marie yeah yeah I don't it's hard to say yet your fault never mind and she has testified behind closed doors all the testimony so far has been behind closed doors the Democrats did release or have released about twenty seven hundred pages of that particularly from Fiona hill and Alexander van man who testified and what they're getting to on that is that prior to the July twenty fifth phone call there was a meeting between the U. at between US officials and Ukrainian officials where it was said that if you cream wanted a meeting with trump then they had to supply the investigation this is the moving of the goal post that's about the most significant thing that has come out of the transcripts from the closed door hearings as we move forward what we're going to get is more testimony next week and the idea that the Republicans can subpoena witnesses who they want to which they want to subpoena hunter Biden they want to subpoena the whistle blower they want to subpoenas congressman chef to see what his involvement with the whistle blower perhaps could have been but the problem with that is is shift as the chairman of the intelligence committee ultimately makes the decision on whether or not these subpoenas can be granted and if he says no which likely he will the Republicans can appeal that but it the appeal goes to the entire committee and of course the committee has a democratic majority so effectively house much of the Republican subpoena powers are going to be and this is why it's important to win elections because when you win elections you have control over the process for very important things like impeachment proceedings yeah you do but again but you know the Democrats aren't the only ones to have won these elections the Republicans won the elections in the Senate which is where this goes if the Democrats in the house do in fact impeach trump that's not the end of the story it goes then to the to the Senate and the Senate will hold the trial with the Chief Justice will be the the presiding officer for and in order to convict and removed from from office you have to flip twenty Republican senators that's just almost impossible to happen now we've what about before the notion that within this impeachment inquiry Democrats to a certain extent have backed themselves into a corner because they have to proceed they have to take the vote they've already taken the first steps to do that with the inquiry not of course an official impeachment vote but that's coming within a matter of time and in fact CNN has hinted that impeachment may be likely some time as likely as sometime soon as around Christmas yeah okay now Democrats have backed themselves into a corner in the sense that they now have to move forward with it and either have to go through with a slow drip process to keep it at the forefront of the voters minds until the election next November or if they're moving forward with a very quickly as it as is the case with a potential impeachment vote by December then it seems to me that the strategy would be to go ahead and take their licks because they know they don't have the if they don't they know they don't have impeachment secured take their licks now and hope that the voters completely forget by the time election rolls around next the member as voters are off what want to do yeah I mean it's it's still a year out from the election so that that's quite a long time to forget the time line is interesting it's hard to say whether or not they're going to go slow or fast I the one thing that I don't know that anybody talk about not you want for them on C. N. N. if you go to C. N. N.'s website they are like impeachment headquarters like half of the front page is all impeachment stories well don't forget we covered that the project veritas audio that was dropped for hat tricks when they revealed that CNN is essentially a partisan institution run by the president who has a personal vendetta against the president yes I think that's precisely what I was getting back to but then also one of the reasons I think the Democrats are going for this too is because remember they have no argument on the economy and economies are generally what decide elections particularly presidential elections and so if they can dangle or a hang this little shiny object out with their left hand Dan say low Tate tension of that don't pay attention to what's in our right and the right hand because when the right hand is trumps economic argument and so I wonder if this is partly to just distract voters from how well the economy is doing and if that's the case I could see a drip drip drip strategy be eight playing into Democrats favor because once the impeachment is completely over and more than likely the Senate has exonerated or acquitted trump he's going to turn the impeachment inquiry against the Democrats and he's going to say and guess what the economy yeah it's blooming alternatively if Democrats move quickly they can then blame the stonewalling of the state Senate on partisan on the part on a partisan process so they could then you know kind of set up the argument that they weren't able to go through with impeachment because of its obstruction from the Republicans which is a narrative that of course they have tried to advance already he had except for the whole lake with scratch your head again the subpoena thing with the congressman ship yeah me so you know there's strategies for both sides another thing I wonder too with the Republicans is if they don't get their witnesses in front of Congress might invade then we roll them all out in the Senate and essentially you're going to have a dule partisan impeachment process where it all Democrats on the prosecution side in the house and the and the filing and it's all defense for trump in the trial phase in the Senate so I mean you know that that's one thing to think about too one of the witnesses that it seems to be pining for attention yeah former National Security Council director John Bolton subpoena me subpoena me want to sing like a bird yeah that appears to be what he's saying now his subpoena gets caught up in court right now because they're asking the judges whether or not because his material probably has to do with national security and foreign affairs which generally is top notch grounds for presidential executive immunity but he says that he's got information that hasn't been talked about yet he's got you know quote unquote news stories new stuff to tell and he but at the same time as a neo con unitary president kind of guy it doesn't make a lot of sense philosophically that he would want to go after trump here so maybe it's something personal I'm not yeah that's what I'm betting because look as it stands politics makes resume extremely strange bedfellows and when you're dealing with former national security director John Bolton you're dealing with a man who has a personal vendetta at stake here he's got you know a a a little bit he's playing in the guy's got some skin in the game yeah that's why he got canned from the White House that's the idiom I was searching for so yeah he's got a reason to be peeved at trial and it's not like he's going for any other kind of elected office in the in the near term future so partnering with Democrats may be his next move perhaps but yeah you're right you know he he is begging basically to have his subpoena honored so that he can come and testify especially now that it's going to be public before the house intelligence committee well it's going to be interesting to see where this goes especially next week as the impeachment proceedings are brought into the public and as the cameras get flipped on hopefully we'll be getting some more I don't know something more productive out of it than what's coming to come about so far so because so far it seems like it's just been a process to distract from the presidency more than it's been a process to actually advance an initiative to derail it what do you think they are going to impeach trump I think they're in the house I think that's that that's almost four gone by most speculation yeah that background conclusion accord about speculate so he will become the if that happens he will become the third president who was impeached but then again just remember that does not mean he's removed from office that becomes the Senate's jurisdiction right in the center it's unlikely to follow through so whatever we will obviously be following this story as it continues to develop and hopefully you know Hey we were there may be an end to it by Christmas so one can only hope what would that be a Christmas present yes you're listening to Saturday night on the circle stay tuned more to come go tell you about an Australian man they got an instant dose of karma the good kind and I think at this store is going to put a smile on your face so stay tuned for that twenty twenty twenty twenty twenty twenty election a moderate candidates to be dealt from to be very smart about running a selection.

"You're listening to Saturday night this circle on ninety three W. Y. P. C.. it is. in Indianapolis and we're glad you could join us for their show lots to cover this week believe it or not from news of the weird to news that you need to hear intelligence whistle blower tattle tailing on trump Trudeau covered in black face just a whole heck of a lot going on building Kamio leaving the race you know channel canelo yeah helicopter in genitalia don't want to miss that I mean you know any time you can hear about the male copulatory organ helicopter into somebody's hands that's a conversation you need to hear and you'll hear it on Saturday night on the circle where on your host Ethan Hatcher and I'm joined by today professor of political science at the university of Indianapolis now right now going on on the circle is something very very cool it's called the kind harvest is hosted by the mid west food bank over five hundred people are gathered being served gourmet farm fresh food right on monument circle all in an effort to raise money for charity and feed the homeless and hungry the needy in Indiana and around the Midwest and I think that is a glorious glorious terrible organization and a because well worthy to donate and contribute to it's good it's good to see people involved in the city you know and actively contributing that's absolutely yeah yeah I mean these are these are people who are truly are involved in their community and tap in and reaching out to help so you know I mean this is they're doing the work that the government doesn't do they're actually raising the hard dollars to feed the people in dire need where government you know often drops the ball that's the power of the individual and private charity as compared to the the over the overwhelming government behemoth and I got a nice night for that other outside great weather great food on the if you if you see the way they've got it situated is like a half moon of tables around the circle I guess if I mean five hundred is a decent amount of people and they're all being served by a by these waiters you know he's at school stuff yes very. and a night for a good cause yeah and for a good cause so we want to highlight that you know just kudos to them hats off from Hatcher in other news okay now I'm not sure if you heard this because it just happened late in the week but a intelligence whistleblower now supposedly the phone conversation happened on was August fifteenth August sixteenth and it took a couple of weeks for it to be processed within the intelligence department where ultimately after having consulted with this justice department V. complaint is being held no we don't know this is the fun part about how the whistleblower we don't know who the whistleblower is we don't know technically what they were sad what promises were made or even to whom they were made but supposedly this is very very bad now sources who are close to this this affair and this is the second plane allege that it is involves Ukraine that's what I have seen as well ha ha Ukraine and Joe Biden and I believe it was Joe Biden's son right hunter yes hunter Biden who we covered on the show in fact you can find the episode trouble in the house of Biden on to be ID see on the show page Saturday night on the circle you can find all of our podcasts up loaded their each and every week that particular episode was trouble in the house of Biden where we detailed both the scandalous Beria's affair of hunter Biden as well as his past doings in Ukraine and we speculated that the time that that could damage the Biden campaign and. it looks like that prophecy may be coming to fruition possibly we don't know because again details are sparse but what it take trump out in the process of that through this whistleblower well I mean they're alleging that the the bribes were made by. we're gonna have we're gonna have to see what the substance is we don't know what the substance is I mean everything's supposed to take out from every other week something's going to impeach trumpet nothing ever sticks so you know what hence I asked the question and yet what tribe actually himself is very dismissive of this because of course he was asked about the whistle blower incident he is what he had to say with the warriors the.

"The right on the ninety three W. IBC Mesha tell you about. so I saw a tweet from just some random guy I don't know this guy it's not important who he is but he was trying to share a really good news story and he wrote on Twitter and I quote are made quit because she used her earnings to educate her daughters and two of them have now graduated and have jobs so are made doesn't need to work anymore right well that's nice right yeah yeah I mean like if you read that you're going to feel like a normal person you're gonna think wow that's good for her good for her yeah she set a goal she met the goal yeah now she can take she does have to work anymore that is awesome yeah right also you know. yeah good good for her daughters yeah yeah so there was a feminist a board member in fact of something called safe spaces do you see what. board member she's a board or a board. so she responded and the the conversation between her and this original got and the the guy that originally posted that tweet about is made is so unbelievable her response to that good news story about the maid being able to quit her job said she said okay but like when will we stop calling people maids and cooks and drivers who loved his response his response was the same time we stop calling people teachers doctors and.

S. shocked race I know right this is so dumb Israel has every right to keep out someone who is trying to harm them and that is essentially what airline Omar and retreated to leave we're intending to do that's that's what they do every time they support BDS so it's a it's absolute nonsense do that it's it's legal for them to do that they can do that and how come they're not upset about all the countries that don't let Israelis into their borders where's all the action against those ambassadors I mean give me a break well it's because it's trump and be be your friends in anything that trump is is sort of involved with their just like civil rights or something they're just mad because trump is involved in this and it's the the squad and they're just mad they have to make this about them and grandstanding and posturing and just show up right well and I was stunned that bill Maher is actually the voice of reason on this matter I can't believe this either this was absolutely incredible so he he had his shows on Friday nights and it's on HBO and so he he normally has as a panel of people to discuss these issues with and it was funny because he was asking this panel you know what it what are your thoughts about these women not being allowed entry blah blah and so he asked them are we missing a huge point here with respect to BDS none of them would address that and so finally he just is decided to address it himself and here is what he said the the **** of purity test by people who want to appear well but actually slept through history class.

O. P. bumper sticker on my car right because I'm afraid of the weirdos were going to scratch it up in damages in some way yeah that sucks that we now live in a world where this is the consequence for just speaking your mind yet but we're really scares me is that we get a lot of people that are right as we say this all the time people will write us and say this is how I feel please say this on the air but don't say my name yeah or I can't say how I feel at work you know or you know it's like I I met a girl over and you know this fourth of July holiday that was talking to a live in San Francisco and she's like I don't I can't even make friends at work because I'm I feel like I'm the only conservative that lives in San Francisco you know I don't I don't even talk about hardly anything with anybody because I don't I don't ever wanna tell anybody that I'm conservative what what is even happening it's crazy yeah it's absolutely crazy and I just hate the bats I hate to think that were going so far in that direction but it's just seems like we are yeah right I mean it just seems like you can express your patriotism for your country when you're afraid to do that when you can't even say I love America I love I love the flag I have reference for the flag and for my country what what's even happen for where you're even taking something like a Betsy Ross flag and and re attributing it in a way that is not right yeah like you're you're saying now that something that has never been offensive before in the history of ever is now offensive because somebody like Colin Kaepernick says yeah it's what we allowing him to even have that impact on our culture and had it why does he get a platform to say that and then I don't yeah or Joe Smith on the street doesn't give them the same platform why because he played football once yeah care and the worst part is that you do have to be afraid I mean you know we're gonna get into this later the whole Indian no thing getting beat up on by anti yeah and you I don't I don't blame people for saying I want to stay anonymous because your there's a genuine fear yeah of the kind of retaliation that we're seeing all over the place I fear violence real yeah I mean it's you're right you're right there is now a balanced budget because we don't like to leave anybody with like you know no silver lining there is and liberal very liberal person on Twitter Marshall Herskovitz who actually is calling out he's a he's a writer producer and so he's been involved in stuff like traffic the last samurai and he he is even had it with his own liberal brethren so when he when there was like this whole right up in the Rolling Stone about the Betsy Ross flag in this whole you know hello blue with Colin Kaepernick he called them out he called out Rolling Stone he was like utter complete effing B. S. O. he spelled out yeah he said the flag belongs to everyone it doesn't matter if white supremacists try to appropriate it would you trash the constitution if they tried to appropriate that too shame on Rolling Stone shame on Nike it doesn't matter if white supremacists try to appropriate the Betsy Ross flag it still represents the heroes who risked everything to found this nation take an effing civics class thank goodness right did that just not like yeah and your heart swell it does make my heart swell but no one's going to bother to actually take a civics class well that is a shame I mean that's the thing they don't even teach in school these days on the way if they do they have to now gloss over and have to make sure what we gotta represent history in a way that makes everyone feel good about yeah we have to make sure that we paint over George Washington right because he gives everybody the bad feels right we can't have any kind of murals are art work anywhere that actually represents our history because that is also very triggering yeah we can't afford to trigger make all the students get the fetal position on the floor I will have to call in to.

C. all about what it is he did James Patterson give the them New York times bestseller James Patterson who actually wrote a book with Bill Clinton went on with Dana Perino on the daily briefing and discussed his book filthy rich the billionaire sex scandal the shocking chew story of Jeffrey abstain that this is a story that was lying in plain sight there were plenty there's plenty of information that yes indeed president trump did throw Jeffrey I've seen out of of the club that he won't be surprised that scene gets a fair amount of jail time but Bill Clinton is absolutely not telling the truth if he says he's only on for a flight though the flight records show twenty six different occasions according to the reporting let him are you at all he wants but as we said nobody should be allowed to pass the minute people start thinking all why am politically to the writer on politically to the left there for this person to get a bass of APRS okay we're all doomed if we aren't as a society that has one voice are opposed to child sex trafficking dear lord it really is over it really and truly is and the envy it sees the only way I kind of know that they're still decency left in the world I know that there's a whole bunch of people who think that children should be able to make decisions for for themselves and they should be able to decide who their sexual partners are at the age of I don't know child the age of under eighteen then they should be able to engage in relationships with adults there's a madness afoot but they're not allowed to do that because they are children and children do not have the capacity to make these kinds of decisions and adults are not allowed to prey.

"The right on the ninety three W. why be seen that shop and fact Latins when we do our Facebook lives we get comments from people going I love the you just tell it like it is yeah because you know and maybe if we can we can say more we can say that localiza gives a more the things yeah that's true I mean but I mean I think even on our show yeah we say the same thing yeah would sometimes we get backlash remember we do say the things you and I just hate to think of a of a world where people are still too scared to say the things now granted I'm scared of putting a trump or even just a G. O. P. bumper sticker on my car right because I'm afraid of the weirdos were going to scratch it up in damages in some way yeah that sucks there we now live in a world where this is the consequence for just speaking your mind yet but we're really scares me is that we get a lot of people that are right as we say this all the time people will write us and say this is how I feel please say this on the air but don't say my name yeah or I can't say how I feel at work you now or you know it's like I I met a girl over and you know this fourth of July holiday that was talking to a live in San Francisco and she's like I don't I can't even make friends at work because I'm I feel like I'm the only conservative that lives in San Francisco you know I don't I don't even talk about hardly anything with anybody because I don't I don't ever want to tell anybody that I'm conservative what what is even happening it's crazy yeah it's absolutely crazy and I just hate the bats I hate to think that were going so far in that direction but it's just seems like we are yeah right I mean it just seems like you can express your patriotism for your country when you're afraid to do that when you can't even say I love America I love I love the flag I have reference for the flag and for my country what what's even happen or were you even taking something like a Betsy Ross flag and and re attributing it in a way that is not right like you're you're saying now that something that has never been offensive before in the history of ever is now offensive because somebody like Colin Kaepernick says yeah it's what we allowing him to even have that impact on our culture and how to why does he get a platform to say that and then I don't yeah or Joe Smith on the street doesn't get that but at the same platform why because he played football yeah care and the worst part is that you do have to be afraid I mean you know we're gonna get into this later the whole anti no thing getting beat up on by anti yeah and you I don't I don't blame people for saying I want to stand on a mess because your there's a genuine fear yeah of the kind of retaliation that we're seeing all over plants here violence real yeah I mean it's you're right you're right there is now a balanced budget because we don't like to leave anybody with like you know no silver lining there is and liberal very liberal person on Twitter Marshall Herskovitz who actually it is calling out he's a he's a writer producer and so he's been involved in stuff like traffic the last samurai and he he is even had it with his own liberal brethren so when he when there was like this whole right up in the Rolling Stone about the Betsy Ross flag in this whole you know hello blue with Colin Kaepernick he called them out he called out Rolling Stone and he was like utter complete asking B. S. O. he spelled out yeah he said the flag belongs to everyone it doesn't matter if white supremacists try to appropriate it would you trash the constitution if they tried to appropriate that too shame on Rolling Stone shame on Nike it doesn't matter if white supremacists try to appropriate the Betsy Ross flag it still represents the heroes who risked everything to found this nation take an effing civics class thank you right did that just not like yeah and your heart swell does make my heart swell but no one's going to bother to actually take a civics class well that is a shame I mean that's the thing they don't even teach in school these days on the way if they do they have to now gloss over and have to make sure what we gotta represent history in a way that makes everyone feel good about yeah we have to make sure that we paint over George Washington right because he gives everybody the bad field right now we can't have any kind of murals are art work anywhere that actually represents our history because that is also very triggering yeah we can't afford to trigger any and make all the students get the fetal position on the floor I will have to call in puppies to rescue them yeah and teddy bears and even some passive fire they just can't settle at us you guys the ninety three W. I. B. This is the Stomas thing. I think I've ever seen. So now they're trying to like add a racial component to it. Do you know why people don't like orcs because they? That's why they don't like. Or is it a pretty scary orcs, they eight people, and then someone made up a fake news story daily Gondar row hand villages torched with the land of men need to understand about orc culture. Yeah. I mean, this is the crazy. Can I? Wait. That's a great question came. That would be no, yeah. I feel like channeling Moyer at rose today. "Here we go into the hammer and nigel show on ninety three w y hammer i'm looking at it right now on side of finding circle you could i could stand up from my microphone and look across the way among them at circle at christ church cathedral and see that jesus christ is in fact in a cage they've got jesus mary and joseph all in this fencedin detention thing facing monuments symbolism deal deal talking about the trumpster zero tolerance policy right right so last evening is when this went up and the church the christ church cathedral has the big sign up behind it with the hashtag every family is wholly this is the big campaign they have they released a statement this is part of the statement that was sent out to members of the media the holy family today calls us to stand with all families seeking safety and a future for their children we will not stand by while children are being taken from their parents and families are being taken from our communities and congregations they go on to say a little bit more but let's stop right there families are being taken from our communities okay i get this is clearly a shot at donald trump clearly a shot at his immigration policy they've got the right to do it whatever knock yourself out but if you're going to protest something let's make sure we kind of get all of our ducks in a row here children are not being taken from their communities no one is taking these people from their community if anything the people being held at the border left their community so the symbolism is a false equivalency to me and it kind of takes away from what they're trying to accomplish they they may be pointing out the fact that that might be a shot at ice to but on no level is immigration enforcement you know kicking down doors in snatching families in deporting them that's that's not the way it works and by the way the people that are seeking asylum through a port of entry on the border are not being separated from their families hammer i mean and also trump signed an executive order stopping the separation families who are trying to cross illegally which i'm glad that he did that and i don't know what the answer is down there but i don't think the the policies should've ever been the the separation of families in the first place i don't know what the answer is because you know ns thirteen certainly aren't seeking asylum and they're definitely not entering the country legally so there's something gotta be done but i yeah there's some hyperbole there in that statement knowing what you know about people as a whole night what are the chances somebody tries to jailbreak jesus tonight somebody goes down there about two o'clock in the morning with some wire cutters and they go all jailbreak three jesus from the rats gonna happen somebody's gonna do that and now that you've suggested i'm quite certain something that you suggest somebody do romi under the bus now but i'm saying like you know oh the ideas out there now but certainly that's a possibility run jesus run your three now go you know how connected i ended this las vegas story the shooting that took place last year october second the biggest massacre in the history of the united states and it seems like you know again every time we have a shooting somewhere we know more about that shooter his background his motive that night and it's been what nine months since the vegas shooting and we still don't know anything slowly we're getting some more pieces of the puzzle coming out las vegas police released more video this was some bodycam video from the police officers they released it yesterday in armed veteran police officer was caught standing idle for several minutes while this massacre was taking place so the gunman is in the room and you hear him firing the rounds out and you also hear him stopping reloading and then continuing to slaughter these counter goers from the mandalay bay in las vegas so basically the investigation now centers on cordell hendrix who was an officer with the las vegas police department the body cam footage shows he stood there and did nothing for several minutes stood outside did not try to go in and confront the shooter just kind of froze their he released a statement to the police department in las vegas which we just found out about yesterday he did this statement back in may quote i know.
