PT your whole there is football. welcome back is mentioned here shows a my Pompey was headed over to the Middle East it is unclear the Iran strategy that is actually being pursued at this point as I said yesterday I think that the actual foreign policy of the United States is wise and kind of always will be model for real because the American people are interested in empire building I think correctly so the American people are also not interested in full scale isolationism because every time the United States gets isolationist we get a Pearl Harbor nine eleven so we end up can be mildly reactive your presence in the world the bases all over the place with a strong military and we can react to threats but we don't want long term occupations or invasions we're not into that sort of thing and so what happens when there's a hot spot like Ron tends to be the possibility of a flare up and then it kind of receipts Iran is is the is the herpes outbreak of the Middle East the Iranian government may flare up and then they sort of receipt so Mike Pompeii always trying to create a policy right now The Washington Post reporting. that the trump administration has announced the Pompeii would fly to the Persian Gulf on Wednesday to discuss a response to an attack on Saudi oil facilities as Iran's supreme leader ruled out any direct talks with the United States has spur of the moment trip which will include stops in Saudi Arabia and the UAE underscores the danger the tensions of the Ron could spiral into military conflict president trump has said around is probably responsible for the attack that he would like to avoid a war I'm pale has assigned blame more directly in front obviously obviously does not wish for there to be a war with Iran at this point is glad suggested that the likely solution here is that the United States pledges to strengthen the defense of Saudi Arabia without pledging any sort of aggression and aggressive action against Iran I think that's probably the happy medium where the U. S. ends up we maybe end up helping flag some tankers in the straits of Hormuz and guiding those tankers through the straits of Hormuz against the possibility of running aggression we establishing some sense of deterrence. the weekend attack which the United States says it believes originated in Iran despite claims by rebels in Yemen that they carried out appears to dash all hope that trump might meet with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani at the UN General Assembly in New York well the Iranians I don't think we're all that interested in face to face meetings with trump I think they're more interested in pressuring Europeans to break with trump and undermine the J. C. P. LA the the the revocation of the of the Iran nuclear deal. as one to surrender to run okay it is pretty much that simple the Europeans want Iran to get their money they want to run to be part of the world economy and they don't care if Ron spreads terrorism all over the Middle East they simply don't care because they figure the US going to foot the bill anyway if something goes wrong which unfortunately has been European foreign policy since basically the late Cold War now the fact that that trump it when when trump says that Europeans are not pay their share their fair share for defense that is technically true I mean United States basically footing the bill for all of European defense for several decades during the Cold War and allowed them to live high on the hog in terms of social welfare programs well Europe can pursue that policy again but there will be some tragic consequences to that policy you're starting by the way to see those consequences in terms of the outbreak of national sentiment in Europe largely driven by the increase in an unfettered Muslim refugees coming from the Middle East into the heart of Europe and creating all sorts of social schisms. any there around two PM leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said all the officials in the Islamic Republic unanimously believe there will be no negotiations at any level of the United States again they're trying to pressure the Europeans this is not about the United States at this point I think that the way this ends probably is with the United States trying to trying to strengthen and shore up Saudi defense without getting involved in a conflict coming up more on the.

"Ninety nine three W. B. T. Hey Jay there are a lot of room thank you very much seven sensors all and not very often that young or so on on the desk they're not know what they're getting into and out orders classes is absolutely necessary I also don't think that you got a complaint get rid of one of our class I would think that if you've got breast cancer fan attention proper cover all this in about six weeks and do a good job yeah and then may maybe like the last guy said get rid of one of the at the rig replace some of the electives that you already have or incorporate this into like the one question I don't have is what does the civics an economics class incorporate that couldn't allow for this criteria to be included into and I'm all for the idea of personal of finance class but I wonder if it can't not if it couldn't be fold it in to that savings in economics class so I guess I'd like to know more about what that actually entails Alicia you're on W. B. T. high hi there how are you doing I'm great thank you very much so what do you think about this idea personal finance class cutting US history course I think it would be and you know cutting the history courses not necessarily where I stand but finance is is so important I haven't paid a credit card interest payments in years and it is so important to understand that you're **** your money down the toilet if you continue to paid the normal he is for the credit card companies required to pay plus I don't think good to some extent I I don't know if it's a sheer ignorance or if it's just blessed but I mean when you rack up that credit card debt and then you start making the minimum payments and you can't quite understand why it never really tends to us seems to bulge then that's when you start to read the full small print the other part of that is in this sounds a little bit but a blase but you you you ought to look at that application and see what you're paying because of its twenty three or nineteen percent pass exactly and that's what our kids are looking at you're not seeing those stupid season they're not reading the fine print then you're you're going blindly and to be a blast of you know I want it now and why and then understand that payday loans will kill you and understand that rent to own might make it sound like it's convenient so you can get that big screen TV in your house but you're going to pay about three times what that TV is worth before it's all said and done Jay or on W. B. T. hi how you doing great ma'am Hey I'm for it I don't I think you can now learn history lab the internet and I think you need the life lessons on that out of college to now to know how to balance your checkbook and all that stuff so I mean I know you know about that book anymore but not a house you know about it are and like you said earlier about you know when the on the hard to college the that alone you know yeah paid back I don't know maybe two three hundred dollars more than more power yeah you know you don't need to get yourself and a lot of that in your hand answers are on your life yeah I although I'll tell you what by by not understanding credit and then learning it over time and then getting yourself out of debt boy then use really start to understand it's probably it's almost by having screwed yourself with credit did you then have a really strong understanding of what a life is like without having anything I mean here I call if you're the mailbox being able to go to the mailbox without worrying about those windowed envelopes Susan I got ourselves out of you know I mean other than a mortgage payment and a car payment we don't have car payments anymore but eight eight and they know I got a cable telephone power bill I've got it way over pay in on cable but we can afford it telephone service I don't know you almost gotta have that say they charge our car goodbye and what you want by what you can afford our debt is I used to think that that was just a a fact of life that a car pay was a fact of life telephone down on many people I knew didn't have car payments Ross is a W. B. T. Hey Ross John thanks for taking my call I should on sure thank you well I got some bias against mass as opposed to history because a I got my oldest son my middle child he actually failed ma'am in the first semester of this past academic year and that part of it is because I couldn't help them it was just too tough I can help them last year in eighth grade I couldn't help on this year and he asked me why do I need to learn this stuff basically said because you have to because those are the rules so I'm all in favor of the personal finance class something that's important I just don't understand why it can't be incorporated into a math class instead of cutting in US history course so is is is so so your your your problem is essentially what it would replace as opposed to that it would exist correct yeah personal finance lends itself more toward math and then incorporating into civics class I mean is if people say that's what we're gonna do then fine and I can argue but if it comes down between cutting in history class to implement personal finance my question is why can't it be incorporated into a math class to let their learning something and and like you just said you yeah enjoy high school as much because the stuff you learn in the classroom setting and and that's the same for my kid but but if if he sees the relevance to it he enjoys it more yeah one of the things that occurred to me was a listen a deal was in a general math class if you incorporate personal finance you're already going into things like percentages in addition and subtraction and multiplication and compounding interest and so you're actually learning finance as you are learning about personal finance it does kind of fall under the math banner why in your own W. B. T. high Hey John our thank you guys so much wonder how I will get to see the exact same thing I don't think we should do with the history class but I'm all about having a personal finance class yeah I I think it's a good point bit because when you think about personal finance it would incorporate a lot of the things that they're trying to teach you in a math class that you don't understand why it's valuable but when you apply it to real life then all the sudden you can start to figure out why that makes sense and why are a thirty year loan on a house is actually if you can do a fifteen year loan you get a better percentage rate you pay off the house faster so on and so forth absolutely all I'm a hundred percent for for lunar teaching math I think bore the problem of losing history classes that you require to your first one takes you off of a war the second one continues to modern history to which one are you gonna ditch both are important to learning about our country yeah yeah and the and the reasons that we do the reasons that we do and and and quite frankly if you're going to I do anything about arc history class teach the constitution and the non biased way maybe that would be an idea Brett you're on W. B. T. high I hate the thought even John yeah you too ma'am I think the short cut so it is if you understand interest you earn it if you don't understand that you pay it that's the that's exactly right you're also a little bit more cautious about signing up for it because like I say you pay the minimum on a credit card that debt will never go away if you pay and then if you paint anything on the credit card that doesn't go away now this you know if you use a credit card gotta go away every month issues as a convenience not the lending coal yeah yeah you're yeah so that's right it's not alone although that's all that's when the awful lot of people use it for Cheryl you're on news talk eleven ten ninety nine three W. B. T. high John I'm calling in and but educator administrator okay I homeschooled my five kids all the way through school and the two men she said we're talking about doing it math that's what we did because this house supports we always want to make a lot of things practical and my kids were college prep and they learned all the important thing but they did have a class that was call consumer math and that's what it was all about it was about learning how to write checks how to save money to buy a house and since there's stuff out there that could be you and I think it should be mandatory for every student but unlike the other two gentlemen I'm not sure but can I agree is the place to put it out I've only got a minute but do you know all what is as a school administrator can you tell me kind of give me the basics of what a civics an economics class covers well it's not always across the board the same yeah to be honest with you it it every district might have a different book in using that so it might for corporate and the teacher even though they might have the same book the teacher might be completely a over on the right and again his political views will play a big part in it too yeah so yeah no standard bearers anyway but I would say history itself a missing link in a lot of.

"Ten ninety nine three w. Okay. We have some more detail. Here palm pale is over in Jordan is meeting the king of Jordan King Abdullah. And it was wild speaking to King, Abdullah that Mike Pompeo said I saw an early version of the president's speech tonight. And then he chuckled. He's gonna make a lot of news the truth about this is is that you have Lockhart saying we need to fact check this while Chevy Trump's lying. Craig chaos is me David Gregory. So we're we're going to fact check on older they're scared to death folks, because they do not hold the factual or moral ground when it comes to what's going on the border. They know damn well that what's happening at the border is illegal is unconscionable is devastating to the country. It's why they supported they know damn well that Trump has every fact on his side they are scared to death. That Trump is going to persuade an increasing number of America's of what's going on. We already have polling data only seven percent of Americans think that what's happening with the illegal immigration of southern border is not a problem. Ninety three percent do including eighty eight percent of Americans. The truth of the matter is the democrat party. And the media are scared to death of what Trump is going to say tonight. That's why they're ballyhooing the response by Chuck and Nancy. Trump has the facts on his side. They have heard what Trump says about the border. It has been a staple at every Trump rally, and it generates standing ovations it is filled with patriotism, the desire to maintain and protect American make America great, again, all of that is designed to protect the law abiding in this country from people who are wanting we breaking the law getting in and then committing numerous crimes, including murder there is no way the president does not have the moral and factual high ground on this. They have been dreading it that he would do a national address on this. And now it's coming another doing everything they can to distort it and destroy it before it's even.

I just think to myself that some little girl who just absolutely loves horses. Has no idea. This is not the kind of thing you'd necessarily go out looking for. But somebody buys this thing and puts it on the Christmas tree and that little girl wakes up on Christmas morning and runs out to the tree expecting to see. I don't know. So and so Barbie, your whatever it is. She's asked for and here stands almost lifestyle store, stuffed horse. But she said the name of it was hunter. Anyway, we got him in the studio and he's sitting right by the window. So when you walk down the hall, you come down here, and you walk around the corner. All of a sudden the first thing sees horse head. And it's just kind of interesting to watch people that haven't been in the building for a while. Like, the new sports guy from Cleveland, just walked down the hall and. Think he's kind of wondering what the hell's going on? Anyway, part of our auction on Thursday. Those items should be up soon. If not already at the handcock page are excuse me at the WBZ dot com page, there'd be an auction page there somewhere where you can go in and take a look around. We've got lots of panther stuff.
