Apple reveals lower cost watch and updated iPad
"Maybe with the event's title, we should have known it would-be. Short. Tuesday's time flies event flew past at just over one hour, four pieces of hardware, basically, as well as new services and the services bundle we're focusing on hardware today. Surprising, absolutely, no one apple on Tuesday announced apple. Watch series sex running through the hardware. The S six system and package packs a new dual core processor based on the eighth thirteen bionic an iphone eleven it runs twenty percent faster than series five apps launch twenty percent faster. It's the first. Apple. Watch to include the you one ship, an ultra wideband antennas. Both the same all day eighteen hour battery life is before and can hit full charge in one point five hours. To features focused on during the devices introduction where the always on all tinder and the blood oxygen sensor. Not sure why always on is important for an intimidator unless you're worried about rock climbing in your sleep Apple says the always on ultimate provides real time elevation all day long by using a new more power efficient, barometric, ultimate her along with GPS and nearby Wi fi networks. More life and death or the blood oxygen sensor and is associated APP. Apple says, series six measures the oxygen saturation of the users blood. So they can better understand their overall fitness and wellness. Oxygen saturation or S P o two represents the percentage of oxygen being carried by red blood cells from the lungs to the rest of the body and indicates how well this oxygenated blood is being delivered throughout the body. And how it works is really cool according to Apple's presentation. The sensors are basically checking the color of the blood as it passes by. That color indicates how oxygenated the blood is, which is free again. Amazing. Speaking of colors for the to apple watches I've owned I've chosen brushed aluminum. It's easy to match with just about anything. But if you have a signature color or don't care about matching or. Planned to have plenty of apple watches on hand to put on your wrist Apple Watch now comes in the couple of colorful colors. For. The first time says apple a new blue color. Silver Space Grey and gold aluminum case options along with the product Red Apple. Watch. With exclusive matching, bright red bands stainless steel models are now available and graphite and an updated classic Yellow Gold Color Apple. Watch edition is available in natural and space black titanium. Series six also says Sayonara to ceramic while apple didn't mention it during the event. A piece from macrumors says, that is no more. As is the way the arrival of new apple watches also meant the arrival of new bands. This time though whole new bands, not just new colors. Sport Band makes way for so loop. No clasp. No buckle. Solo Lupus a continuous end stretchable ban design that says comes into materials, soft silicone and braided yarn. Nine sizes for those. Apples supposed to have a size guide on its site. Same goes for Apple Watch air MAS- as far as improvements the hardware it's stainless steel cases come and silver or space black paired with single or Dubna, tour styles and an assortment of vibrant new colors. Now about the only thing predictions got wrong for Apple Watch as E was its name. leakers had thought that that was shorthand that it'd be called something simple like apple. Watch. Apple Watch S E is the budget chronometers name. Well mid range chronometer Apple Watch series three is the true budget model still out there selling for one hundred, ninety, nine bucks. An apples press release apple CEO Jeff Williams was quoted as saying Apple Watch S E combines elements of the series six design with the most essential features of Apple Watch, all at a more affordable price. No Blood Oxygen Sensor and no, always on display. It does sport the always on all temperature though because apple is taking this sleep climbing thing seriously. It offers robust health and safety capabilities including fall detection emergency, SOS, International Emergency, calling, and the noise. APP. Now, if you decide, the six time is the charm that you're finally ready to buy Apple Watch. The one you buy probably won't have a charger in the box Lisa Jackson vp of environment policy and social initiatives at apple appeared during Tuesday's event extolling the environmental virtues of apples timekeeper. Sometimes. Jackson said it's not what we make but what we don't make that counts. That he's from seeing that says that when she said that apple won't be including USB adapters with this week's watches. As putting them free in the box consumes resources and adds to apple's carbon footprint. Interestingly, people who can afford to buy a charger without giving it a thought. Won't have to do so. A separate piece on chargers Napa Watch from apple insiders as apple, watch, addition, and Apple Watch. Will include a five watt power adopter. Bloomberg's Mark Gherman Kinda cried foul over that on twitter. Quoting his tweet looks like the Apple Watch titanium and Armez model still have the power adapter. So the more expensive versions keep it. makes it seem like it's less of an environmental thing and more cost driven? I can get thinking that as an immediate reaction. Here's the thing though you gotta figure apple sells at a minimum hundreds of entry level apple watches for every single edition or. Sold. Probably thousands. So even though it looks like catering to the wealthy and yeah, there may be a bit of that. Even though it looks like catering to the wealthy dropping chargers, millions of people probably don't need. Might make an environmental difference. No I saw way more than one piece saying not including chargers with Apple Watch is just the beginning. While, it has been rumored that the next round of iphones will also arrived without a charger. Apple doesn't seem to a pulled the chargers from the ipads that are also coming out this week. We'll get to those in a bit. Want to get an Apple Watch for your kid but not give them an iphone worried that mom or dad may have a slip and fall or ended up seriously directionally challenged apple has a plan to watch the whole family. Selling points as far as apple's concerned with family setup, you can stay connected with family members without an iphone from making and receiving phone and facetime audio calls to sending and receiving messages and emails, and even connecting with other Apple Watch wearers over walkie talkie. Parents have the ability to approve all contacts. So kids can safely use the communication features of Apple Watch, according to the company. The activity rings experience has been optimized for kids according to Apple. Emergency SOS is being pushes the benefit though. Apple Watch already does that. And finally school time and downtime or front and Center for children while optimizations focused on health for older relatives take precedence at the other end of the spectrum. Now the news that will make family setup less useful for many. It requires cellular models, of Apple, watch series four or later or Apple Watch S E running watch os seven paired with iphone six s or later running IOS fourteen. Apple also said that kids and older family members of the household using family set up, we'll have their own phone number through a separate cellular plan. So, while you don't need to get GRANDPA and the kids their own phones, each cellular watch will come with a tone cellular plan and. Associated Bill. Family setup goes live today and so by the way does watch Os Savon. that. was kind of surprise more on that a bit later. With such an emphasis on the health, it's not overly surprising that the new Apple Watch Slash Watch Os Combo brings a few new health studies. macrumors runs those down starting with an asthma study being run in conjunction with the Insurance Company Anthem and the University of California, Irvine. Second the peace says Apple has tied up with university health network and the University of Toronto to learn more about how Apple Watch metrics including blood oxygen can be used to manage heart failure. Finally macrumors says apple is partnering with investors at the Seattle, flew study at faculty at the University of Washington School of Medicine to explore how changes in blood oxygen and heart rate can be early signals the onset of influenza and Kobe nineteen. The watches by the way are ready to order now. Those opened on. Tuesday, they'll ship on Friday in the US Puerto Rico twenty seven other countries and regions. Interestingly, adding cellular to that one only adds fifty bucks raising the price to three twenty nine. It also ships this Friday and the US Puerto Rico And twenty seven other countries and
Thanks to the Pandemic, Apple’s Big Event Was Just … an Event
"Been covering these sorts of apple events in product reveals for a while now yes. Seventy five years. Have the one compare it was definitely very different though in June we had apples developer's conference and it was pretty similar to that. So in the sense of we're getting used to this, but it's definitely different than me flying out to Cupertino waiting in line to get into a big amphitheater in a room packed full of. Apple Employees, other press, and hearing a lot of excitement about new products. And on the products, let's start with that side of things. What are your biggest takeaways from what was announced and what star listeners be thinking about when they go to buy their next of ice I think the biggest thing I want everyone to remember when they go to buy an apple device is that getting the most expensive apple device doesn't necessarily anymore mean it's the best one to get. Now sure there are going to be features that they're going to have in these higher end products like we saw yesterday with the Apple Watch series six announcement. That is a three, hundred, ninety, nine dollars watch. But we also got an Apple Watch se that starts at two hundred, seventy nine dollars and has a lot of the features you would probably want seeing that also on the IPAD so you can get a three hundred twenty, nine dollar really good ipad. You get an IPAD air new IPAD air that's five, hundred, ninety, nine dollars or you can go up to the eight hundred dollar ipad pro but that IPAD air is actually a really good value and has a lot of the same things as that pro. and. We also heard a lot about services. Apple has really been leaning into this part of its business lately. Did we get any news there? We heard a lot about services yesterday and I think it was really interesting how apple threaded that throughout the hardware announcements specifically fitness plus announcement, and this was an announcement of a new on demand video workout service think about your Peleton's about your other sort of video workout videos but this comes. With an Apple Watch or you have to pay extra ten dollars a month to get this with your Apple Watch and this really sort of emphasizes if you've got this wash if you've got this hardware, then you can also get the service and for apple that means you're going to have recurring revenue. You're going to have this customer who didn't only pay for the hardware, but is now gonNA pay a monthly service fee for this new service. So some changes there another big change normally a new iphone would be the headliner of this event that's been pushed because of coronavirus related supply chain issues. But given everything we saw yesterday do you have any predictions about what new features we might see when that eventually is announced? There is no mention of the iphone which. Actually shocking to me I figured Oh they're going to at least tease it. This is the September event. They're going to remind people. We know we usually gather for the IPHONE but coming soon. But there was none of that. I would say the biggest hint we got about what's coming with the IPHONE is that the Apple Watch will no longer ship in its box a USB adapter the one that you plug into the wall that no longer is GonNa be shipped. In. The box and apple says, that's for environmental reasons that we all have these already why do we need more of these ending up in the landfill? I think apple will do the same exact thing with the iphone coming next month will hold you to that taking a step back here. You know this event is typically meant to really hype up the products that apple announces with no iphone and you mentioned sort of a less flashy event than we're used to. Are we expecting to see an impact on apple's bottom line I would say this is one of the most boring apple events in recent history that said I actually think it could end up being one of the most successful in terms of products announced you had the lower end ipad refresh the three, hundred, twenty, nine dollars Ipad, which we know as a top seller for apple, and now you also have these new apple watches that are. Not as expensive as the usual three, ninety, nine version but one that's more affordable has a lot of health features and you have also this this backdrop of the pandemic and people wanting to spend less and focus on health and I think that the Apple Watch I it's it's been sort of less of a niche product, but it's not spread over to everyone and I. Think this year we're going to see it really broaden its horizons. And here with the announcement of not only the different pricing tiers and having three different models out. But also the family sharing this is a feature they announced where you can actually give the watch to your kid even if they don't have an iphone and you can then set it up and control it and you can also use it to track your kid if they're at school, I think that is really showing how big of A. Market Apple thinks the watch can get into. So they've had things like fall detection for people who are older. They now have this feature for those who are younger. So I really think this is the beginning of seeing the the watch a lot bigger than we had thought
Apple iPad, Watch and Home bundle: Breaking down all the announcements
"Apple held its big September event today, but there was no iphone. So was the IPAD Apple Watch any new bundle enough? I wrote a Chang charged. With me to break everything down is senior editor at large and apple expert. Sure. I high in a it's been a afternoon for there's been a going on. Let's let's break it all down I. Guess by sequence of when they announce their their various products is talking about the apple. I have to remember. Okay. Yeah. It was secrets quartz. Which? In apple years like three years. Let's let's talk about Apple. Watch was the first off the bad. It was the Apple Watch series six and Apple Watch S C you break down these products rest yeah. It's interesting. So the Apple Watch is very clearly increasingly becoming a health device and to people who've been watching this is not a surprise. Apple found a lot of success turning it into a sport device. That started with the second generation Apple Watch when they made swim proof as what they called it not really waterproof pet swim proof and ever since then they've really been adding a lot more features for health and fitness will now they're adding even another feature for health, which is that going to measure your blood oxygen levels and this is going to do it in. Two ways one will be to do it. If you just want to do it now you push a button and it'll measure over fifteen seconds and uses all sorts of infrared lights in some magic by being you get a number and then it'll also do it in intervals just kind of behind the scenes. So just like with the heart center, if suddenly some something seems completely. Off The watch tap heuristic and say, Hey, you might want to look into this, which is what has saved a lot of people's lives. Yeah. Idea civilized was a big deal that that Promo video they ran to for really unveiling these products just was laid it on pretty heavy about the fact that this is this can save your life. Now I must have been Apple Watch. The reality is that this type of technology is very impactful right I mean it's it's kind of stuff like it's it's really sappy to talk about like how disability functions inside of the iphone arena video game console change people's but they do right there. There are entire people who who were stuck indoors not able to do anything or they were blind and they weren't able to live a normal life and they're able to do so much more now because of the technology that's come from why from. Different phones and all sorts of other stuff. So it's not surprising apples laying this on thick because on some level they they've actually saved lives. They deserve to be able to say that, but I think it's going to be interesting to see whether people buy into this idea over. All right. It's still a nerdy thing. It's still an expensive thing and that's that's a hard sell to people who haven't already bought it read just to be clear like the. Blood oxygen like what is it? What does it actually do be able to detect and monitor that like what is that allowing Apple Watch to do so in a lot of ways, this falls under everything else that we've always heard about various health functions and it was actually in the t at the ending card on their announcements. If you go watch the video, you go to the very end it says this is not meant for medical purposes, right? So. This is really just kind to help you quantify your body and your life, and this is one of the problems we've all had with fitbit and everything else. It's cool to get this data and sometimes it's helpful. But reality is once I've gotten him for like six months. One more do I need right and you know my wife doesn't care about any of the data that she She hasn't even tracker steps anymore. She just cares about whether she closes the rings. That's it right. So it's it's actually a lot of this data is is kind of you don't it's helping with all that right in kind of helping you set goals and get there. But a lot of the state is unnecessary. Apple's doing it because they say look it's going to help us with the. Overall kind telling you what your health is and maybe will maybe it won't I don't know. But we'll see we'll say how how much does this they start for? Yes. So that's the other thing is that this device is going to be three ninety nine to start, which is not cheap and you know, and the other thing also is that they have this cheaper phone watch which. is to Sunday nine starts called the Apple Watch S E and I guess for special edition we never know what these letters mean and one of the things about this thing is that basically a repackaged Apple Watch series three, right so it has the fall detection, which is something that the introduced a while back in a lot of people were really you know they were thinking hey. Elderly people you know they have this I fallen and I can't get up little buttons. Now, they can do their watch. So they're adding some of these functions that they do see a lot of. People. Kind of getting interested in into this device two, hundred, seventy, nine dollars in Stephanie Cheaper. We'll see whether people want it, but it says something yeah. That's two hundred ninety nine seems a little too expensive considering the the series three is still around one hundred and fifty dollars a year. It's not a huge difference between the two, seventy nine and the three, ninety nine. Series six that like I don't know there's that struck me as little expensive for those quote unquote affordable model. I mean think about Black Friday, right one of the things that I have always of found interesting about apple having covered it. Now for more than a decade, is that in a long time ago it apples pears didn't move like there was never a sale on their phones there was never a sale on their. Computers it was very rare and it was only a little bit. But now we're starting to see a sales on them when they come out right and we're seeing prices dropped dramatically during holiday sales. So to seventy nine to start yeah, that does feel a little heart but I wouldn't be surprised to see that creep down to two hundred by the end of this year the other the other big lot unveiled was two new. ipads. So let's let's go into the IPAD at the higher end version what what is new about this new air? Yeah. It takes a lot of the feeling of the pack pro. So it actually has a this more square look to it, which if you care Kinda Cool Stephanie Different and it also has a bigger screen that is actually looks a lot like the IPAD pro so you may remember the IPAD pro they got. Rid of the touch ID, right that button that allows you to use your fingerprint. So this one does not have the face unlock like the IPAD pro instead touch ideas now in the button on the side that you do the power button, that's kind of course. So they that's how they were able to lower the prices from the IPAD pro. It still has a very powerful chip they say it's much more powerful than chromebooks. UPS and all that, and we'll see you know everyone has to do their tests, but it's ships in October for five hundred, ninety, nine dollars again, not cheap and way more expensive than the cheapest chromebooks out there. So we'll see whether people are interested. Yeah. I'll say that pay particular attention that touch ID because it's it is abundant on the top of the screen, not screen top of the device itself it's basically the power bun. I would be intrigued to see if they stick that into the iphone twelve, it would be really smart because right now face ideas essentially useless when you're wearing a mask. So having some sort of touch ID center and I don't think they've got the under glass fingerprint sensor thing down pat yet this would be a good a good compromise.

Add Lepow's 15.6-inch USB-C monitor to your home office
"And I came up with this one. This is from a company called Lapel. Now Lapel it's a fifteen point six inch type C. Portable display. Oh Wow. So what it is is basically a high quality. Display like top but without it's just basically just an extension of a monitor, but it has the USB which means with USB device like a Amanda you've got the note common. Justin you have a pixel. Can Plug it into this and extend your smartphone onto the screen. But with HD, I can actually connect Miichi my from my laptop and connected to this and use it as an extended monitor. And half. At best buy right now, this is a case. So the AFC, which is a USB, it's not type see the AFC one which I looked at is ninety nine dollars. So if you need an extended monitor, you can do that with. It's not nineteen, twenty, ten eighty that one from the. League is a little less on the resolution for it. this one from the POW was. One, hundred, eight, hundred, Eighty, eight bucks. It comes with a real flimsy stand which is magnetic as you guys can see. I might invest in an actual stand for it, but I can just pull it up. Put it in my laptop bag at has power record. Again the C connector and I'm really looking forward to putting some use to this, and if I can do the drag drop easily off my laptop with it's sitting right there on could really heaven absolutely. The Xbox Series X vs. the Xbox Series S: What's the difference?
"Microsoft released the full specs details about the XBOX series s budget console that again is coming in at two, hundred, ninety, nine dollars. They say it will deliver four times the processing power of an xbox One and supports one hundred twenty frames per second and that its using these same CPU as the big boy series x quoting the verge xbox series s delivers four times the processing power of an Xbox, one console and supports. 5 Easy Ways to Edit Movies Recorded with Your Camera
"So for a while, I was wondering about the actual need of having all this video capability. With are still cameras of course you know that's a little biased me saying that right there because they're just cameras but around the world, a lot of folks are really looking at these things to shoot video. And then Oh yeah they take pictures as well and that is a real thing. Studies are showing that the manufacturers are saying that's what the demand is. So. This is being driven by the consumer as well as those that design the cameras and then I started thinking about my own work and how often I do fire up the video mode on my Olympus or on my Fuji Film Camera and I it's a real thing. Isn't it? And then I think getting. From listeners and they're going you know especially now when we're sheltered in a lot more can't go outside as much and. Are exploring new features on our cameras. One of the features that they are exploring is making videos and than sharing them with people, you know most photographers and most artists have a variety of different interests and some of those interests are very nicely explained of by making a video about how to do this or how to do that. Is Essentially what I do for a living, right? So. So. Why not everyone? Else's? Well, why not? I was looking at you know this sort of conundrum that comes up with you know okay. Capturing images as one thing. And you know taking video is another and then getting decent sound is another and then once you get that video and has some decent sound. What do you do with it? I mean, do have to go out and spend two, hundred, ninety, nine dollars to buy final cut or. By adobe of video editing software or can you use something that you already have the do the basic things in the basic things are really what most people need at the very top of the list is trimming because a lot of times when we're shooting video ourselves, which we do most of the time, right? You know the production crus- somewhere else in there we are. We've gotta take care of everything ourself. And trimming is the big deal right because you know you start the video. and. Then you know maybe the camera tripod or whatever, and you know you gotta walk over and then you get in front of the Cameron Start Talking doing your thing and then when he finished saying what you're, GonNa say then you gotta walk back to the camera turn off. Well, you know those bits on both ends and even if you're doing handheld stuff, right press the button all that while there's usually some rigmarole that goes on then those bits on both ends are the things that need to go away in fact. If we just get rid of those bits on both ends. We already have the meat of a pretty good video right there. So trimming is something that everyone needs to do everyone needs to trim, and if you're not trimming, then do not share your videos with other people right? Unless they're just you know something fun like an iphone video or something like that. another very common request is being able to add videos together like video bits together to make one movie. people also like to be able to add a title. Or some sort of graphic to their movie you know. So all these things are really nice to be able to do to to take it from just a clip to something that's a little bit more of a presentation, and then when you've done that, you know, how can you share it? I mean, can you export it into a file format that works Nicer Youtube or works Nicer facebook or whatever you happen to us to share your video. So these basic tasks do not require you know final cut ten or another expensive video editing up there are APPs upset you probably have on your computer right now that can handle most or all of these things, and that's what I'm going to talk about right now I have five of them for you. And I'm going to start out with a quick time and quick time for the Mac. Now, quicktime used to be for both windows and Mac, and then around two thousand, sixteen or so. Apple stopped officially supporting quicktime for windows even though that latest version that latest windows version seven, point six or seven point seven actually still works on windows ten so but is not officially supported. So I'm just going to talk about it for the Mac right now, I do have windows APPs to that we'll be talking about we'll talk about quicktime for the Mac but the player, not even quicktime pro but the modern player that every Mac user has actually does a pretty good job of trimming movies of stitching clips together, and then you can even move them around when they're on the time line and I don't think. I. Realize that you can do this. You open the video clip that you shot with your camera. You know you go to edit there's trim right there, and then there's also a command to add clip at the end and you go. Why can I add clip at the beginning? We don't have to worry about that. Just add the the clip at the end the second movie. Because once added, then you can click on it and move it around. You can move it around so you can move it to the beginning.

Hi-Performance Heritage - The Ramchargers
"This week's project car of the week is one of my favorite cars that I've come across recently, and it was posted on the one hundred facebook page on Tuesday. August eleventh at twelve pm it pretty much checks all the boxes for what I think is great in a project car. So let's not beat around the bush. Let's read the AD. Nineteen Sixty Eight Dodge coronet superbeet twelve thousand five hundred dollars, Omaha Nebraska. West Virginia car original numbers matching three, eighty three or four speed tags still intact on transmission rear end and carburetor includes vendor tag and bill. She cleaned Nebraska title needs complete restoration does not run, but motor spins free folks. What we have right here is the quintessential ratty mobile muscle car a nineteen, sixty eight super be the first year for Dodge Budget Street brawler aimed at the youth enthusiast market during the rise of the muscle car era and the answer to Plymouth. Road runner folks, I love Super Bees and I really WanNa have one in my collection someday. I've actually thought about not even getting a new challenger and just finding an old super be that I could build a modernized A. Twelve with modern Hammy in a six pack Efi setup just because the idea that car sounds really cool to me. But of course, this is a nineteen, sixty eight so while it wouldn't necessarily make a good h well, tribute car, it would still make one hell of a cool ratty Mo- par with a modern power plant but I digress this be would be an awesome project car for someone or heck you know get it running and drive the wheels off of this car has perfect sunburned Patina and I'm not sure why but faded bumble bee stripes awesome on these old ratty Radebe's, and they really kick up the cool factor on these ratty mopeds for me especially with the super vs because. In my opinion and has one of the greatest graphic patches of all time on the rear tail end of it. It's got the Bumblebee Stripe and it's got the circle this a superbeing it's got the super be in it. I. Just think it's really cool. But this car is numbers matching, which is amazing and even more amazing is that this thing still has the tags on the Trans rear end and carb not to mention that even has the fender tags still attached and. You know. The picture of this thing shows under the seat is an amazingly, well preserved build sheet, which is really really cool. I, mean what's not to like about this thing? It even has a clean title for God sakes the engine isn't stuck, which is good but it doesn't run, which means it doesn't drive but you know what I like about that the low price of twelve thousand dollars you know twelve, thousand, five hundred were being specific but let's be real as long as the engine ain't stuck. You know as well as I do that the odds of getting this old Mo- par fired up are definitely in our favor. And Hey did I mention this four speed man I'm about to liquidate all of my Mo- pars and head out to Nebraska and get this thing if it hasn't already sold by the time, this episode airs you know what I mean. But of course, kidding but nobody wants to buy my junk on. There's cool cars out there like this that still need to be saved but this car you know it does need work all over the place. The interior exterior under the hood, the suspension, and I'm sure it's all pretty extensive work but the car is complete and you know that alone makes it a great project in my opinion because it's hard enough to find numbers matching project car let alone project super be that has a lot of the necessary things for documentation for nearly ten thousand dollars. You know what? I mean this twelve five that's not bad. That's not a far stretch from ten. You know I've seen projects, superbeets and CORONET RT's and chargers you know. Closer to twenty thousand or even in some cases over twenty thousand well over twenty thousand. So for twelve, thousand, five, hundred, I'm not complaining. But of course, I'd like to get it for ten grand but you know me, I'm a low baller but I think you'd be really hard pressed to find something equivalent in the market right now for around the same price for a car that's complete like this. But if there are any out there that you Nov, let me know because I'd love to check them out feature right here project the week you know folks. Told thousand five hundred dollars in my opinion this is a great by for a really cool car. This is one of those instances where once again I'm a day late in about twelve thousand, four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars short because I would love to have this car and I would absolutely pay single penny. The seller wants for this thing without thinking twice and you may be out there thinking you know. Chris you're crazy. But Hey, I'm well aware of just how crazy I am any penny less than the asking price for this be is just steel in my book but in all seriousness I hope someone out there listening to this you know jumps on the Mo- part facebook page finds the car and makes a deal on it to save it. So that's project
Dual-screen Surface Duo marks Microsoft's return to smartphones
"The other exciting future is foldable Microsoft's screen android device. The surface duo is available for preorder now for one. Hundred Ninety nine dollars, ask. Arriving September tenth. Being being excited about this product, the surface duo has to eighteen hundred, thirteen, fifty, five, point, six, inch, sixty, hertz led screens. Now when you unfolded those screens connect to form an eight point, one inch workspace, but it's not a single screen like with the Samsung Galaxy full because there's still the hinge in the middle and Microsoft's like we're not trying to be that. We're not trying to to have a foldable screen. We're just trying to make a bigger workspace displays are both gorilla glass as a result because they don't have to bend and they work as side-by-side Ma monitors essentially, it's four point eight millimeters thick another big. That's when it's open. Of course, it folds up it's nine point nine millimeters even then it's not too bad. Also the whitest ever android phone. As. Ours Technica pointed out ninety three millimeters wide that is bigger than even the biggest galaxy note that ever existed. It uses one eleven megapixel camera that can record four K. video at up to sixty frames per second runs on a snapdragon eight, fifty, five last generation processor, not eight, sixty five. Six Gigs of Ram. One hundred twenty eight or two, hundred, fifty, six gigs of storage has lt e not five g. but maybe don't. And two batteries one under each screen that combined for three thousand, five, hundred, seventy, seven Nila amp hours. So the specs aren't. Notch they're they're okay but they're not top notch also fingerprint reader sport for surface pen. All ANDROID APPS can run on it. And there are surface. Made. APPS AN API out. For developers to make more of them, that take advantage of the dual display and could like put the keyboard and one side or no taking on one side. And Get. Use Out of that form factor. But as I mentioned, it's a thousand, three, hundred, ninety, nine dollars, and while that's not as expensive as the Samsung Galaxy fold it ain't cheap. Yeah. It feels like a test. To me because at that price and at these specs, you're gonNA find out real quick who your buyers are and. And will extend past the people who just have to have the coolest gadget where a total android heads and have to have every model ever made or love Microsoft stuff or whatever does it extend much past that the two most exciting products I've ever seen out of Microsoft is honestly this I think is really cool. But the specter too low, and there's not a great argument for use case for me
Why Selling Low-Priced Products Can Be Harder
"Many new to business like to price their first products or services low, they feel like it's just easier to ask for the sale if it's not much money, the issue here is that who are you going to ask the sale from a lot of people forget that it costs money to acquire customer and when I say money, this can time as well hiring. Somebody to write you great content for content marketing or email marketing or can mean straight up how much money it's going to cost you to advertise to attract a customer to attract a buyer. Let me give you an example. Let's say for example, you're spending some money on some facebook ads to drive some traffic to an online course you're selling for ninety nine dollars. Now, the we ads work is that it's a lead generation tool. You try to get somebody into your funnel. They opt in for maybe a taste of your course, a module, a free guide, and from there, you try to convert them through an automation sequence through your email marketing. Now, this is a one time fee. It's a ninety nine dollar cost for the course. So save for example, it costs you ten dollars per optin or per conversion. That means you have to spend a hundred dollars on ads to get ten people to opt in for your free. So they can be part of your automation sequence, and from there you are convincing them to buy your course with some email notifications with some more great content. Maybe you're going to fight them to a Webinar all that kind of stuff now in order for you to just break even right now, make any money at all in. Fact, you'll probably be at a loss because you'll need to run your heads and you're paying for the expensive email marketing and all that kind of stuff you'd have to have a ten percent conversion twenty percent. We'll put you in the profitable range and it's not easy to converse somebody offer emails to a buyer at a twenty percent conversion rate. That's pretty high most see something between five and nine percent at best. So best you're not even making. Money. So a lot of will find it difficult to make money on low priced products is they just don't have enough money to market the product to get the customers they need, and I want to say something for lower priced products. It's actually harder to convert them because they're more price sensitive. Now let's give another example. Let's say for example, you have a product that's two thousand dollars a two thousand dollar course you're GONNA run the same ads. And let's say we are converting on our email list at ten percent really really ambitious ten percent just like the other where he broke even. But just to compare apples to apples, I spent a thousand dollars on ads his time, and again ten dollars per conversion on my email list to opt in for my Freebie now I have a hundred leads on my email list and avert a ten percent. That's ten customers. Okay. Now while I broke even In my first example with my two thousand dollar product, I got twenty thousand dollars in sales because I got ten new customers. And I spent a thousand dollars on ads. I made a profit of one nine thousand dollars. So as you can see, you can afford to get more customers. When you have a higher price product running ads is more affordable you can get more return on investment. Now US two thousand dollars for reason, for price point for product because anything lower than two thousand is considered, you know lower priced products. Now I want to say two thousand per year that's the the annual revenue that you'll get from a customer total value of the customer. So if you have other upsells, you have other things that you're going to. Sell them later on, we want to put that into the equation but the point here is that you have a whole lot more breathing room when you're priced higher, a lot of new entrepreneurs think if I price their products to high, I won't get that many customers. It's not about the number of customers. It's about how much money you make from each the total number of. Dollars you take home the profitability. In fact, it makes a lot more business sense I rather have ten customers and earn twenty thousand dollars than to have two hundred customers at a ninety nine dollars point because i. have to now service in maintain an help two, hundred customers instead of ten,
Google Pixel 4a Has Ushered in a New Era of Excellent Cheap Phones
"Google announced the Pixel for a phone with a blog post with some with superbeets. The Pixel for a has a five point eight, one, inch, twenty, three, forty by ten, eighty, sixty hertz led display snapdragon at seven thirty g system on a chip six gigs of Ram one, hundred, twenty, eight gibbs gigs of S. two point one storage and a thirty one, Forty Mil. Battery a single twelve megapixel camera on the back and an eight megapixel camera on the front and a USB. USB Port and a headphone Jack as well phone. Wow. Know. What about that? He has a bigger battery than the four. A smaller top vessels well, doesn't the depth sensing required for air gestures consensus it's nicer looking than the four. It's not as powerful as the iphone se or one plus words, but it's also about one hundred dollars cheaper the Pixel for as available for preorder. Now, for three, hundred, Fifty Dollars Shipping on August twentieth. One more thing at the end of its post announcing the four, a Google also announced it with Havi Five G. version of the quarry for four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars and a five G. Pixel five coming this autumn. Yes. So the only feature, we didn't know because of the long delay was everybody thought this was going to come out in May and almost every detail about it leaked over the intervening months was the price and the price seems to be everyone's favourite feature at three, hundred, fifty dollars. It's one hundred dollars exactly cheaper than the one plus Nord, it's about fifty to one hundred, fifty dollars cheaper than the iphone e depending on what model you're talking about. It's quite a bit cheaper than other mid range phones as well but then Google goes and undermines or as some call it Osbourne's itself. By announcing, it will have a five G. version of the out in the autumn almost like saying don't buy yet. We're GONNA have a version with five G. also pixel five, which we kind of knew that that one's less than undermining but the version of the four, al cost more cost four, hundred, ninety, nine dollars. So if you're into that three, hundred, fifty dollars price point I guess maybe you don't wait for the. Five G. Because you're like five won't be widespread for a few years anyway. But I don't know that it seems like Google just wanted to get this out there and say look okay, we made it. It was a pain maybe they're not making as many of them as they had wanted in. So they're not pushing it as hard. I don't know but it's an odd launch for something that for for people who want to. Mind their mind. Their pennies is a very attractive phone. It is that said, the timing is curious as you mentioned I mean listen a five hundred dollar phone. A lot of people are like, oh, that sounds great I mean that's not even really expensive based on you know what a flagship phone will run you these days it kind of feels like to me that. There is some supply chain issues going on here Google's leg at just just released. And like sell for real cheap and you know, let's move the merch. and. Then we've got we've got other stuff going on this to push so hard since we didn't make as many of them kind. You're Kinda right it kind of feels like that. Yeah. The one thing and Roger I. Don't know if you want to weigh in on this for people who want the bargain price three, hundred, fifty dollars very attractive it's not very future-proof. That's not dragging seven thirty is not the seven sixty it's not even the best mid level snapdragon processor it obviously doesn't have five G. I mean we you end up spending more because you'll have to replace the sooner. I would say that for a lot of people like, for example, my wife, she wouldn't use a lot of the additional features. She just needs a phone that does all the basic does the context does a photos I can share through instagram or facebook. The only problem with her phone is it's no longer being supported right? It's a, it's a five year old one plus three and so it works great but it just it has no, no longer has any updates for security and all available. APSO having something like this also means that you know you get a new phone that's inexpensive but it's also part of the cold Google we strip it down to the bare essentials. There's no bloat wear that's added and it does what it does like eighty percent of what most people do on the phone. Yeah and if she still rocking a one plus three, this processor will probably be fine for her. She's going to be doing heavily intense things would use the processor. So yeah, that makes sense.
How to Run a Paid Live Workshop or Course
"Online learning is a multi billion dollar industry in today's world. So you might be thinking, how can I compete with all the courses out there online courses on Eugenie? encore Sarah Skill share on all the different platforms. The private brands that are having own courses will one easy way to stand out from the crowd is offer a live workshop or course. We can go back and forth with your students, answer questions and have an interactive experience. But how do you actually set one up? So you can charge and deliver your workshop or course. Well, that's all cover in today's episode, will go through the aid Z.. Z. The tools. You'll need some tips on the delivery of this course and what you can offer to all your students to make sure that even when the live courses over the have what it takes and they have what they need to succeed with your subject matter, I've personally have offered several live courses in the past. There are so many advantages that will also cover in today's lesson. So let's get into it. Let's get down to business. Support today show comes from podcasting masterclass. If you're looking to launch your own podcast, you can learn from me. I'm doing a live workshop showing you the Ada, Z.. To starting your own podcast I started one hundred MBA show back in two, thousand fourteen, and it changed my whole business and life. I'll show you how to come up with the format of your podcast. How? How to record, it had edited how to produce it. How to host publish. It had a market it to get it to the top of the charts you're interested in joining this live workshop. This live masterclass for only one hundred and forty-nine. Just go to one, zero, zero, NBA, dot net, slash podcasting masterclass again, that's one zero, Zero Mba, dot net slash podcasting masterclass. I run and run currently on demand courses as well as live ones. But there are significant advantages to running a live workshop or course and I wanna go through these right now, the first thing is that live means interactive. It means that you're able to actually answer questions from your audience cater to the audience and make sure you're actually delivering better value that suits their needs. So that automatically gives more value to your actual offering. It also has more perceived value. That's why a ticket to a live on the stage play is more expensive. Then a ticket to a movie third, your audience can experience the course, not only live, but also the recording afterwards, which is fantastic at both worlds they get live and recorded, but the final advantage I wanNA share with you. That is probably the biggest and it's Kinda, hard to ignore. Is. When you offer a live class, statistically have found that a live class will have higher completion rates and higher success rates. What does this mean? Let's say, for example, you have a course and ten people take a life course versus a on demand course. The completion of the course is three X. compared to a on demand course alive three times of the people will complete the course actually show up and go through it. This results in a higher success rate that means that people actually implement what you taught and are able to give you a great testimony about how you've impacted their lives. So alive courses really have that huge advantage. Then this is the. On demand courses are a waste of time. It's just to know that you live courses because of the investment you make being their life, you're going to get these advantages. Now, with all this value, you can charge more with a live course because live again has more value. So you're able to interact you bill answer questions, it just a different ballgame. So how do you set one up? Well a live course? Course is very similar to an on-demand course in terms of the curriculum or the content. So whatever content you'll be teaching with, you have some slides or you're GonNa be teaching on camera. This is going to go the same basically with a live course. So your preparation is the same, but when it comes to delivering the course, you're not recording this and then uploading the video to a course platform, for example. You can actually just do this live and The best thing to do is to use a webinar software. So shameless plug we have been our software called Ninja that allows you to charge for webinars whether it's a one off live Webinar or a series Webinar, which allows you to charged for a series of dates and times. So if somebody registers once on the series Webinar and they register for different dates and time, and you can actually mix and match live and recorded Webinar Ninja. Meaning, you can have one session, that's why the other ones record or can do all live or all recorded. But this is the simplest way to get started with a live course or one off workshop because of our seamless integration is this easy just to charge for people registered for and the automatically get the replay. Now, I like to also offer a workbook with all my courses with fuel can work along and then also do some assignments later on. So I always include the recording and a workbook with my paid webinar. So paid life course or paid live workshop can be easily done with a woman or software. If you're looking to try something for free, we have a fourteen day trial where it we're going to dot com, and that's kind of the simplest way to set up in terms of the software. Now, if you wish you download the video recordings of the sessions and sell them a standalone courses as prerecorded on demand courses. So. That's just a little hint for you after you run your live workshop or course. So what are you going to do is when you set up this, Webinar, you're going to create a registration page landing pages. It's very simple. You can customize this with your images in your logos in your copy in your job. Here is basically to sell people on why they should. Be On this course why they should be on this live workshop recourse. Why should they buy and this is really a sales patient? This is why we recommend if we're GONNA sell your Webinar is to use a video temple. We have a video temple vote are Ninja, and this allows you to insert a record video on your registration page in why do I say you should have video. Video because video is a really good way for you to convince somebody quickly, they should by showing the advantage show, we're gonNA cover and also shows you shows who's going to teach them and allows you to build some trust and rapport, and also gives them a chance to say, okay, I want to learn from this person. Now, all the registration, this is when they're going to. To Register this word, they're going to pay where they have a credit card form. This is pretty seamless with us, and after they check out, they get to the thank you page the. Thank you. Page is exactly what it sounds like. Thanks them. It allows them to add the event to their calendar. It even allows them to shared on social and allow you to get some viral. Viral marketing from there, they email notifications, reminding them about the event reminding them what to do, and I recommend the in those email notifications, you prepare them for that live session for that life course, tell them what to do. They need to bring in some materials, those paper, and pen and notepad something like that. If you're teaching a software, for example, how offer installed. Get them ready. You know ads you're leading up to the course also prepare them to let them know this is GonNa be interactive come with questions You can even reply to the emails and ask questions beforehand will answer those first one. It's time to go live for your session or sessions. It's pretty simply just show up to the studio, hits our broadcast, and you can be on camera. Camera off camera, show your slides across your sides directly very easy and you go ahead and teach your material in the fall appeals. After the Webinar, you can include the replay. An also include any workbooks that you offer during the Webinar or during the class and that way they have a backup kind of link just in case they lose their workbook somewhere, so they can download it any time. Now, I have a few more tips when it comes to the business of selling alive workshop or a live course. Make sure you make it clear to people that, hey, you're running the session once. So show up live with you. I questions answered, but you will get a recording if you don't make the live broadcast also upon registration in the rotation process on the registration form, you want to collect a couple pieces of information to inform you about these attendees about these students find out what industry they're in find out. Any critical information will help you cater the course, cater the level, the course whether there are beginner a novice or. Expert, they've been doing this for some time You could do this with our generation form builder on women I'm sure there are other softwares that do this as well but I know that we to it. So I'm kind of giving you some tips that I do with our own software. I'd also recommend giving yourself at least two weeks time to promote this live session live course Prior to the date, you're going to be doing it. This gives you enough to get some momentum as a marketing. Maybe do some paid ads if you WANNA do facebook. Or instagram you can use even the video that you shop for the registration page, a four, your aunts, guys I got more on today's topic. But before that, let me give love to today's sponsor. VCs and Startups Consider HaaS Model for Consumer Devices
"All familiar with software as a service right in a way. SAS has taken over the world. For software and all sorts of enterprise and consumer settings, but even increasingly. In all consumer settings as consumers have gotten used to. You know paying for digital things. I mean you can think of Netflix. As software as a service in a way. Well, are you ready for hardware as a service? Let me give you an example. Noura is a company that makes high. End earphones the NRA phone. For example is what the company calls the world's smartest headphones. You can buy the neuro phones today for three hundred ninety nine dollars, or if you pay ninety nine dollars, ninety nine cents up front and subscribed to pay nine dollars ninety nine cents a month. You can also own the near Afon. This is not rent to own. This is subscribed to us. As long as you keep paying, you can get a new neuro phone device every twenty four months. You can get the over the air software updates that keep the device improving, and Oh, yeah, keep the device working because if you stop paying, the device shuts off. Remember when there was that whole Brouhaha about Sonos end of lifing support for their earliest speaker systems. Yeah, get ready to hear a lot more about hardware service quoting techcrunch. In a recent email exchange Duncan Turner general partner at the x accelerator, which backed Noura described Hass hardware as a service as a great way to keep in contact with your customers and up sell them on new features most importantly for startups, recurring revenue is critical for scaling business with venture capital, and we'll help appeal to a broad set of investors, Haas also often has a low churn as easier to put. Put onto long term contracts and quote the upside to consumers clear. Don't pay for everything all up front, and your freer to experiment with new devices in ways you wouldn't have been otherwise. This is especially important in a world where brick and mortar experience is increasingly rare, even before retail ground to a halt courtesy of covid nineteen. There's also a clear appeal for those who are inclined to frequently upgrade devices quote. It's providing continuous value than it should be worth paying for Y combinator partner Eric Makovsky, tells tech crunch, if not stop using it and move on, it also is more sustainable hardware. These days requires a lot of software to work and the development and maintenance of that software costs money companies that have a continuous source of revenue will be able to continue to improve their product offerings through software updates and quote in two thousand eighteen. Eighteen study analysts parks associates noted a potential hurdle, however quote while a consumer reluctance to pay subscription fees is well documented. Haas models may get more traction. Where more value can be offered at less financial risk to the consumer, the challenges to create a service bundle with clear value that consumers find attractive consumers will pay for services that they perceive as valuable and complete tasks that they cannot or prefer not to do themselves unquote. As another VC is quoted, saying in the peace and I've seen myself over the last few months, startups don't have to be talked into Haas into this new sort of business model. Providing consumers can be talked into buying in as well if there is a new hotness right now in startup pitches at the moment it is basically subscription, but for x that sort of the new uber, but for X, and it's easy to see why this is so attractive to start ups. We've spoken endlessly before about how reliable and easily anticipated revenue is provided by subscriptions. But also if you have a subscription business, consider that you could achieve scale, not at the end of some years long slog through the Dark Valley of losing, money. Imagine, you could achieve scale and essentially bootstrap your way to it off. Your own cash flows from basically day one.
'Tiger King' zoo searched by police after human remains were believed to be buried on property
"When you thought there couldn't be anymore. Tiger king drama. There's this Joe Exotic Zoo was searched by authorities in Oklahoma on Friday after an investigation by the travel channels, ghost adventures team led them to believe there were human remains on site according to reports, the show was on the property for some sort of ghost investigation, and they had some cadaver dogs that pick up a scent near the alligator pit now if you don't. Don't know the show. Basically, there is allegations that one of the women on the show Carol Baskin's. I had her rich husband killed and shoot up by tigers, and then thrown in the pit somewhere and I don't think really anybody seriously believes that, but who knows so. They always thought that she had him killed and then buried on this big zoo somewhere and Carol Baskin's making money right now because she's on cameo now. Yeah. Thoughts and Prayers Are Costing Us a Fortune
"Our lead story tonight after much hemming and Hong about the downsides financial accountability in government, the trump administration reluctantly agreed to release a Herschel accounting of whatever happened to those billions upon billions of dollars entrusted to them under the Corona Virus Aid Relief and Economic Securities Act and confirmed every terrible thing. We assumed about the administration's stewardship of our money, including the fact that they didn't give two shits. If you found out how crooked they're stewardship of our money has bet. But to be fair unless your doctor evil. You'RE GONNA be way off on the numbers. Terrifying Republicans actually argued that oversight of the giant Relief Fund to make sure the money gets distributed responsibly would be an irresponsible west of government mony. Exactly now we don't have all the details because these numbers were released in such a way as to ensure that plenty of outright theft could still happen. Only recipients who received over one hundred and fifty thousand loans were listed, and all we were given was a range so given how much information was made public, if the administration straight up pocketed half of it, we wouldn't know about that yet, but even what we do know is plenty to raise eyebrows like for example. Find out when we get trump's tax returns. Yeah, right right now as soon as the audits over for example, a couple of things to already piss you off. The number of businesses directly connected to members of Goddamn Congress and the trump administration that were approved for loans, or for the fact, that is not the line ran. Institute got sticking. Out of the deal, but the number that really leaves off the page me is the nearly ten billion dollars that went directly into the pockets of clergy. Okay to be fair America's biggest export is being wrong. No. Meat Supply. What you mean. Whatever? I. Say the Ayn Rand Yassin. toot, except in a government bailout apply for government. bailouts lasts yes, just weeping as they did. A hard one. Oh I bet it wasn't for him though because they never meant what they said, anyway in all according to estimates from American atheist, churches receive between six point, two and nine point seven billion dollars minimum. Right now we don't know 'cause. They only released ranges, but keep in mind. The any church got one, hundred, forty, nine, thousand, nine, hundred and ninety nine dollars, or less, isn't on the list. In addition to that another four point eight billion went to private schools, predominantly Christian wants, and you know according to Bucket Supreme Court. That's the same as the church when they want it to be. You there's a bunch of those churches at one, forty, nine, nine, nine nine. teed. Yeah exactly so as American atheist, President Nick Fish pointed out quote in two months. The trump administration has given churches and religious schools more than double the CDC's annual budget and quote. So you know when it comes to corona virus mitigation, the most expensive ticket item right now might actually be thoughts and prayers.

"Their ninety nine dollars yes the cavs ninety nine and the dog is one nineteen okay I a dimension in down to because our cat it's too but if you want to have the dog also or instead for some of my cat friends out there dogs one nineteen that is really affordable that is a I mean that is a very very small price to pay for you know making someone feel better about themselves and and life in general absolutely Michelle we have one member actually who was such a cat lover she had cats but her whole life she named her robotic cat princess after one of her cats who passed on and she said I know they're not real they can't take the place of my previous cat but I have to tell you it's filled a void and emptiness that I've had since my cat died two years ago and that in of itself really says that all that that's true it certainly does and if someone is getting a robotic cat in your experience for someone who is suffering from dementia or Alzheimer's is there a certain way they would introduce the robotic cat to them that's an excellent question yes it's all really individualized depending on the person about their needs are and why they gave the robotic cat we would presented a certain way now someone with dementia or Alzheimer's we definitely would approach it in a different way and have the family around and may be incorrect within ourselves first and then walk right through the person with dementia and see if it's something that they're interested in and do it very gently and for people without comment they do like that repetitive motion and you know that constant pending when you're petting the cat really is very soothing for them okay that's good to know because there is and of course for anyone who's thinking about doing this talk to your care provider and you know see how it's you should do it because we're talking in very general terms of course but it just seems like such a small cost to make someone's life better yeah and for upkeep is it just batteries and battery for the battery and that's it no Kitty litter no mess no fuss yeah no one no accidents on the floor which home exactly and Michelle I didn't mention that there's three modes for the companion pet off where the cat is not moving or purring army yelling then there's the mute mode which the cat will still move and her but no me yelling and if you have been in the on position then it me al and moves this is amazing and I there is for everyone listening there's videos on you tube and you can find out more about this and of course you know as a mention robotic companion Pat but this is just so great I mean if it's the mute is nice if they're living in a assisted living where they might have a roommate so that would be good but it's just seems like just some I thought these I did not do you look up the cost prior to our interview and I thought they were good probably like five hundred dollars and how could you know might be an affordable issue for some it's actually less costly to like you know exactly a lot so any parting thoughts on people if there's considering this for maybe an elderly family member that can't take care of their cat any in more or someone that has you know a dementia Alzheimers is there any parting words or recommendations suggestions well I would definitely talk to the person who you're thinking about the companion had four and say listen we know that you loved animals or whatever it may be in the past you had your favorite cat this is not a real cat but you may find some therapeutic value you may get some joy and comfort from it would you like to give it a try and they could you know check it out like you said it's not that expensive it can be returned if it's something you're not interested in you can look on you to like you said and also on our website to take a look in and see somebody actually interacting with the cat and get an idea what it looks like okay and your website is river spring health plan dot com okay great thank you so much for coming on tattooed it's one of the things I always I try to do is you know we're making animal like spattered pet parents lives better and this is a way a very unique way too long you're still dealing with the pad robotic pet but it could change may be someone's life out there someone that's listening and change maybe a relative's life or something and just make things just a whole lot better so thank you so much for coming on capitate and telling us about robotic companion pets especially the kiddies well thank you so much for having me Michelle it's been a pleasure thank you thanks well Hey everyone that was some show.

"Hundred ninety nine dollars less per year hi let's let's stick right there and marinate on this for a second because I I find this fascinating we did a poll find bomb on talking about dear king the quarterback who again four years in you can still say in the red shirt we saw Kelly Bryant for games and roared organs blast you realize the writing was on the wall for trouble once he decided to take his right you're you're so he transferred is now the starting quarterback what a Missouri writers of Missouri right and the idea on some level is that Jerry king is taking this year to red shirts we can sort of re not re had sort of work get better maybe help his trap positioning going forward with another your call. football I'd be at the university of Houston or somewhere else I think really quickly to differentiate because you mention Kelly Brian Kelly Bryant was benched yes in favor Trevor Lawrence here king is the starting quarterback Keith Corbin the wide receiver is the starting wide receiver and they are both choosing to step off the field and they said with conversation with their families and with the coach yes then all over soon as well this is a one in three team they both would graduate and then play another year they both have said in statements more than likely at Houston now we'll get into DR king's father's comment about it but basically coming back to Houston for a fifty year were less concentration on studies more concentration on football another year to develop to help you get ready for the NFL because we have talked about what Kelly Bryant's done we've talked about when will an athlete stop playing for his team to get ready for the draft these are two starters stop playing for their team to get ready to play maybe or their team next year or maybe transfer which a lot of people think is gonna happen somewhere else next yes so their stated intention is to play for their team though and so you've got a look at it two ways because the right if it was the idea that I'm gonna sit out because I want to transfer somewhere else and have a better chance to win a Heisman or win a national championship or do any of the above that's one thing the other side of this is interesting for me team strategy standpoint because you could look at this and I know Peter burns having this discussion on as you see this morning this idea of using your red sure any your work you can start the season one and three correct or not the more than likely not going to do much this season so you could use your red shirts creatively and say alright we know these guys are ballers let's sit him down let's re up we're going to add another recruiting classes you're one for Dana Holgorsen there so he's got the career longevity at this point there potentially to make this kind of a strategic player and say we're going to bolster this next year we're going to fill the coffers so that we can be a better football team in twenty twenty then we know we are right now in twenty nineteen which I think is also. in its own right an interesting using new. either way it is players realizing they have more options than they've ever had before in the past and using them to benefit them as opposed to benefit the institute was also benefits the team open right if that yes but the bat but either way it's Hey I have a choice in this I have a say in this and I'm gonna decide how I want this to play out. yes that yes I handed it which is nice if it's the teams I I I would be interested where this idea came from Iraq like if this idea in his idea okay yeah that is a very real possibility that cultures and we thought we every culture's meeting other call college football game I always love talking to coaches about how they view that redshirt rule the four games that you get to use because there's very interesting strategy on how you use your dept and when in order to help your team whether it's injuries to starters things like that or in this case maybe I towards the future so here's to statements first is from the air the right order back the player the second will be from his father first from the player I came into play football for the university of Houston that's not changing after carefully thinking through this process with my family and coach I decided the opportunity to redshirt the CZ gives me the best chance to develop as a player my degree and set me up for the best success in the future I'm looking forward to being part of the success of this program going forward he is basically stating he's staying there correct king's father era came told ESPN on Monday he thinks that this is the best situation for sun going forward both for his development as a player as it relates to his professional future and to avoid having a wasted year he said returning to Houston is absolutely a possibility but the quarterback and his family will evaluate their options basically keep cover the wide receiver said the same thing the quarterback said I look forward to developing another year staying here there is going to end and they're both staying involved with the program involved in their activities in Houston with the football team just not playing this really could open up a whole new door in in the way you go about your business and if that is the idea of the coaching staff from to do this it's a risk because it is because what you just said that the father said it's like it's a possibility yeah and if it if you're playing the political game dear king that's exactly what you should say at the. point but the reality may be coming from somebody else in that family about what may actually be going on yeah looking at the situation in assessing it as best you can as the season goes on it's gonna be a part of what we hear courts all the time we're going to kind of have to recruit or guys to an extent I'm sure Dana Holgorsen is going to be keeping a very close fight involving him as much as you can say we really want you to be at the helm of this thing when we turn it forward because I'm just saying if you still have Norman there might be a guide global might be able to coach Joel Heiser trophy coming.

"And sometimes you don't see this with the team this dominating like them is to me is they have a red hot poker right next to there. But all the time, and that's the Los Angeles Rams. The fact that the Rams are still there with the same record. I know the saints won the head to head match. But the fact that they're there with the same record is going to continue to push the saints to go. We gotta keep playing. Well, we got this team on our heels if we want to be home for the play offs. We gotta make sure we stay headed the Rams, and I think that's. We'll keep this alternately keep the team focused and playing in a very high level. And I think about really what the Cowboys can do. And and maybe we'll do coming up in about ten days. We'll find out more about the Cowboys. The next two games. We learned a lot about the Cowboys the last two games the next two games against Washington, which is still north of five hundred. Yeah. And the saints who have looked incredible that that'll tell us a lot who the saints. Have this weekend stats can. They've only talk about it for honest already. Sorry. Okay. But they're at home against the falcons. No excuse I- display. Don't worry. But the falcons look they went to overtime with the falcons in September. We do and the falcons now they've lost two in a row after winning three in a row. They are going to be desperate on Thursday night. That that's a reason why that game is going to be so good because. Yes, we see the saints against the division rival. Do you think the falcons really care that the saints have scored ninety nine dollars? You're going to be ready to go. And hopefully that'll be a great game. But for now, it looks like the saints of the best team in the NFL. It looks like the Cowboys are the best team in the NFC east. But the best thing about the football season is it is always subject to change. We're going to take a quick break and change the topic.
