"Oak island and newark. The us army data expert discovered that williams served and the us navy. William and. Dan had all of this experience working on railroads which is important because they could map out railroad tracks and find him with ease. This means that would have assisted either one of them after parachuting from the plane to easily find a train nearby and hitch a ride back to new jersey. The analyst told the oregonian quote. I believe he would have been able to see and our state by from the air anclote. This anonymous analysts also said that a rail on at the time ran parallel to the roadway the analysts has this theory that william smith used his friend that died in world war. two's name. He believes he called max gunther. And after that. The wife of william smith whose real name is dolores took over the conversation after williams stopped communicating with max. The analyst thinks that maybe dolores was in on everything. There was another reason why this could be the work of william smith. He had a grudge against penn central. The place went bankrupt and nineteen seventy and put thousands of people out of a job including william our a non analyst says that he was probably furious with the corporate establishment and that anger and madness could have been motivation for roy williams to come up with the plan of hijacking the airplane. The fbi never responded to the data experts research. I think that's because they pretty much had their own minds made up. I'll get into later. Okay so stay with me on this. I will tell this part of the story slowly because sometimes it can get confusing. I hope you're keeping up with this. Oh par because with this analyst research he or. She had another theory to support their findings. Remember max said he spoke to a man with the last name leclair. Well dan player. And this look layer. Man both just happened to live in new jersey. After being in world war two dan clare was previously posted at fort lewis in washington state. That is forty one miles south of seattle. The fbi concluded that dp cooper knew his way around seattle before he hijacked the plane. Remember that clip on tie. Well it had metal on it which made the investigators think he was possibly employed at boeing but the analysts thought. Yeah guess what. Someone who worked on railroads have those same metals. Going back to max unders book. He said that leclair attended a diving. Thirty that was closed to los angeles california and nineteen seventy-one. It's only been recently that the fbi even let the public know that. It's extremely likely that. This david cooper character went to a facility. Just like the one. Max talked about in his book so this one to me stands out a lot. It could be absolutely true but of course we have more people and more theories in this unsolved mystery. We come back again to robert reich. Straw an army that from indiana. It was said that he uses the skills he learned to break the codes that were printed on letters that were allegedly written by david cooper and nineteen seventy one and seventy two. His findings track everything that to robert rack. Straw the former military pilot. Okay so we even have to come back to robert robert shaw later. Because now michigan publisher principia media. Said that william recco which other sources call walter. Instead of william was the culprit. He was also a former military paratrooper as well as an intelligence operative. It's not clear if williams still living. Now the reason. I'm having to go back and forth to robert. Rach draw is because i'm trying to get this time line and order so if it's a little confusing i'm sorry but this is the way the story pretty much goes so eric. Euless an entrepreneur out of arizona said in two thousand nineteen that he was ninety eight percent competent that the fbi sat down and interviewed. The actual db cooper eric also believes that where the fbi thinks davie cooper landed that. It's not actually where he did. Land he said this guy was a. Us marine corps veteran named sheridan peterson. And that he helped refugees and vietnam. The mystery just keeps getting crazier with more suspects but robert rack. Straw is one. That really gets focused on reiter when the fbi released the files. They kept on him. An august of twenty twenty. Something major happened. The twenty dollar bills that were discovered back in nineteen eighty were tested. There were minuscule amounts of algae on the money which you're called diatoms tom k. A scientist and director of the foundation for scientific advancement. Shonda light on the theory. That's been up in the air for such a long time. The wash ago washed down theory or the washable. Wash down theory okay. So we know. D b cooper jumped out of the plane and november. What tom discovered. Is that the die. Tom that were found on the cash. Were species of the springtime. The money could not have been dropped in the fall months however the question of how that money that matched the serial numbers was there and found months after the yom still remains unknown. Some people think db cooper was still messing with everyone's minds. So now it's time to get into robert reich straw and full when the fbi documents were made public. We find out that the fbi agents had their sights set on robert rach straw and he was their main suspect all along he was a. Us army pallet paratrooper. He was an explosives expert as well as a cia. A black ops man. After robert rach straw dodd in twenty nineteen. Thomas j colbert a sixty two year. Old colt case investigator producer and author from ventura california. Got the secret bureau powell's he said he had to go through an extremely long legal fight for them. He said quote. This solves one of america's greatest criminal mysteries three separate intelligence community.

"She's been hitting the drink twice as hard now we're going to finish finish up and talk about the precipitous. Drop off the brink that Thomas Cook went through and it was. This was something that happened so so suddenly that it took a lot of people by complete surprise even even people who had said Yeah. I knew that they weren't doing well. Financially were shocked at how fast this unravel rabble. Will you never think that. Somebody's just gonNA close overnight when they've got tons of people whole around the globe so how he got there in two thousand seven like we said before the break lake they had more brick and mortar locations than any other travel retailer right but the travel industry as a whole was shifting online online so quickly that that was not an asset it was actually a liability. Yes because I was all that overhead so much overhead unlike an airplane with very little overhead smashes. It's all all underfoot in two thousand eleven. The company sought out one hundred and twenty five million dollars dollars or pounds. I believe dollars Zia. Every report I saw was posted in a news journal so I just assumed that that means we're talking dollars hundred twenty five million whether it's dollars or pounds is a lot of money whole Lotta money. And they did this to tide over their cash shortage. Yes so this was like A. They're in a real serious cash crunch that they just didn't have the money to keep operations two billion dollars in debt. Yeah so this. This was essentially the keep the lights on and be able to pay their their staff. Keep in mind their staff. It's not just travel agents. We're talking about flight crews. We're talking about you know paying for the fuel for your aircraft. There's tons of things that are part of this Gargantuan business at this point and it's it's mind in boggling it. The next year the company announced it was going to restructure and in the process close two hundred of its stores and in two thousand thirteen. The company announced is that it was going to streamline by merging their airlines in Belgium Scandinavia the United Kingdom and Germany into a single division and in two thousand fifteen they a announced a strategic partnership with Chinese Investment Group called Foshan international which looked like it might have been a saving grace book like it. Looks like it wasn't the first half of two thousand eighteen. The company was seeing a huge drop off in customers. Yes and the reasons for this are are multiple like there's no one caused we can point to and say this is why people travelled less. They're actually quite a few view. Different reasons that contributed in some way shape or form for example. You probably heard if you if you're not in the UK you've definitely heard heard about if you're in the UK you're living it which `sorry the brexit process right so brexit out. Some people have argued has discouraged a a lot of travel so a lot of people not knowing what was going to be in store for them you know financially or legally just to move in and amount of countries in the EU for example they held off on holiday plans so that was one argument. Another was that in two thousand eighteen gene the UK had an unusually warm winter and in the UK. Winter is when a lot of Brits fly away to get someplace that ain't so gosh dern Dang cold and damp and grey. I one of the coldest winters I ever spent was a June in the UK. Jin Yeah. That's how cold it can get there. Wow no I was in Scotland the northern regions of Scotland and it got chilly at night. No but but yeah I. It's it's I mean I I always think about when I go to Orlando like if I go to Orlando in the summer Summer Months I see one type of Tourists all over the place but if I go in the winter months it's almost All Brits Yeah and then there are also reports of management being unconservative with their pay. Yeah no there were a lot of stories about the the top levels of management at Thomas Cook we're having some of the most Exorbitant like executive salaries and benefits. So there was a lot of stories is about the mismanagement staying that people were were overpaid for their positions. At least that was the perception. I'm not sure if that was the reality. And these these factors were compounded by the fact that by May Have Twenty nineteen hoteling gas costs. were up and that was making travel even more expensive which was cutting into the profit margin for these packages they were offering because they couldn't have the packages go up too much or people wouldn't buy them but they couldn't wouldn't have it hold at the lower levels because then they would be losing money on the deal. He's acts put them in a rough place yet. July Twenty Nineteen Thomas is cook. Group received an initial offer from sin to be purchased yet again again so the that was something that the company was considering by August. Two Thousand Nineteen. They entered into a rescue package. which would give Tourism Control of the Thomas Cook Group tours tours and vacations. That would give Thomas Cook Airlines to creditors and bondholders and this package was nine hundred million pounds. So this little like this might be able to keep the company going for that just under a billion pounds amount. But it wasn't no because another punch was right around the corner. Yeah just a month later. Creditors are demanding an additional two hundred million pounds in funding. They were worried that two thousand nineteen The winter of two thousand nine hundred two thousand twenty was going to be a repeat of two thousand eighteen which we live in the south. And it's been a very hot September October ninety seven degrees degrees and October fourth. When we record this so not completely unfounded but that meant that the additional two two hundred million was beyond what I was willing to to negotiate and the deal essentially fell through and it by falling through the company crumbled? Yes they went into immediately predation. This one hundred and seventy eight year old company closed its doors overnight and the big part of the problem that you've probably heard about if you've been paying attention to the news regarding Thomas. Cook is that more than half a million people were. We're on a Thomas Cook vacation while this happened Collie and you're talking about immediately ceasing operations. Which means that airline airline doesn't exist anymore which meant thousands of people no longer had a way home? You had folks who are trapped all over the place and this is when in the UK government had to look into how to fix this for at least the UK citizens. Now keep in mind. There was like six hundred thousand. People were on vacation nation only ballot. I say only still huge number of people about one hundred sixty thousand of those were British citizens and everybody else's candidacy plum out of luck You at least for this particular solution and that solution was that the United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority would start a repatriation peacetime program. Called operation. Matterhorn man. I guess it takes some of the sting out that you're gonna a half to depend upon your home country's government to get you back home if you're told that it's part of Operation Matterhorn. Eating a fun Disney ride. I mean at least it gives gives it something like romantic as opposed to get me the hell home does give you something pleasant sounding. Tell your grandchildren. Yeah and It was funny because I was actually reading news articles written about this whole experience and for some people it was very it was. It was frustrating trading stressful It was confusing and perplexing but for some people they got an unexpected a crazy upgrade to their experience because the CIA was chartering flights from pretty much any available airline that had aircraft craft and some of them were luxury airlines. Joe Order flights hard nicer and the these were. I mean these were like commercial jets these ed but in some cases they were commercial jets. They're meant for luxury flights. Where you might end up in a luxury suite type situation that normally would cost you? Thousands sounds and thousands of dollars but because it was the government that was kinda coming in and swooping it up. You didn't have any extra cost. It was them trying to get you home. I I hope that the people who found themselves in that situation would be able to enjoy the unexpected benefit through all the stress well and a lot of them also expressed a deep sense of empathy for the crew and the staff of Thomas. Cook there the over and over. I read reports about how they wanted to make it clear that they were not blaming. Any of the people who worked there for what was happening wasn't their fault right but that it was and there were also reports that talked about how the flight crews Thomas Cook flight crews new.

"But then George hit that gorgeous floater over Gobert to take the game into. To take the game in seal it for the thunder. So far, that's probably in the best games. I've seen this year to be completely honest with you. That was a very fun game to watch. I had no complaints about it. It was competitive throughout. I mean, double overtime always super exciting, especially with buzzer beaters and such like that. So nothing positives. When it comes down to when it comes to that game. And but yeah, that was on Friday that was the start to the weekend too. Other notable games that happened was the Spurs in raptors on Friday. It was Marta. Rosen's return to Toronto for the first time since the trade happened with him, quite Leonard. And. For the raptors the reference gave to rose in a standing ovation as he was being announced by the PA guy for the visiting Spurs. And it was pretty good moment. They gave him a standing ovation for long period of time. It was very motion. I thought it was I thought it was very cool moment for Margarethen. There's a little video tribute for him. Not sure it was at the game. But I saw video tribute on inst- on a f- leaves Instagram. Maybe even you resigned for your was by believe the raptors made that I could be completely wrong. My advantage by fan made. But there was a tribute video. I saw at least look pretty legit. But. What happened was it was the raptors night though, as the final seconds under twenty seconds live to murderers in lost the ball, quite Leonard stole the ball. And dunked it home at the end of the game to seal the victory for the. Trial raptors, and it was the raptors really Sealy one twenty one seventeen and so. With that win the raptors to look that'd be the top of the Eastern Conference. And with this loss to Spurs are looking in the assert tying situation with the Los Angeles Clippers for the seventh and eighth seed. But things only went bad to worse for the clippers for the clippers is union for the Spurs as on Sunday fast forward, real quick Sunday will go back later as a Sunday this first loss of the Knicks. The next eighteen game home losing streak has officially ended. They won this game in a convincing one thirty two one eighteen fashion. And despite Damara Rosen's efforts with thirty two points, nine rebounds, four assists was not enough as the Knicks held on to win this Dotson. I twenty seven Knox had nineteen Thomas said sixteen Dennis Smith junior nineteen like everyone does contributed one way or another and with this, honestly. I'm not saying there's a good chance I'm saying there is a legitimate real possibility that the Spurs don't make the playoffs either. We might see not the Spurs or Lakers in the NBA playoffs. How weird is that? Well, I think. Yeah. I could happen because the clippers could move out to the seventy in the kings. We will the and that would lead both the Spurs and the Lakers out to dry which would be like an alternate universe. Which I think would be insane. But we'll see how everything turns out. But regardless the Spurs had a pretty rough weekend overall losing their two games. One winnable game in one they lost themselves. Just how how goes on a Saturday after the double overtime victory for the thunder going to face sacrimento in Oklahoma City, and they failed to seal it there was a little. Floater by Russell Westbrook at the end of the game. But it was a charging call in. Willy Claes time took that charge. Russell Westbrook wasn't happy. I don't think the man's ever been happy. It's pretty always always upset about something. It feels like and the king seal this one that kings win this one one nineteen to one sixteen really proved that they deserve to be in the talk of potential playoff teams. But he healed having mazing season with thirty four points added this Jared, FOX might be. Most improved player, the nineteen point performance himself almost double dull. And but on on the underside Westberg had another four you one point game..
