"Black kids near myrtle beach so they went to church instead all our lives. We heard about years that they were being educated in the churches because while the sunday school teachers were also schoolteachers but the community decided they weren't going to wait around for a public school system. Didn't care about them in one thousand nine thirty two a year before cookies. Mom was born the community built. Its own school house in myrtle beach and for a long time. There was a question about who paid for the school. A lot of people thought the money had been donated by a guy named julius rosen walled. Chilliest rosenwasser was the ceo of sears. And roebuck he believed that all children should be educated including african american children's and so key donated money throughout the country for these schools to be built for african american children between one thousand nine hundred twelve in nineteen. Thirty two more than five thousand. Three hundred rosenwasser schools were built across the south. But the myrtle beach school was not a rosenfeld because in order for schools to receive that distinction funding from mr rosewall had to be used to build the school with the of beach. One the community families. They could all their resources together. And the model is rosen wall but it was their money and their time and their skills which gives a greater sense of prior blood. Sweat and tears is parents and grandparents sacrificing for their children. That was incredible for nineteen thirties. Years later the former student sat down to be interviewed and to share memories. We had to do without a lot of things that we need for instance. We didn't really have a gym. We didn't have any of the other extras like. Are one of the former students shares. This story of how they would go every day across the stream alimentarius but they live right across the street bedrooms house right across we go over there and take all this stuff to make soup pot and then we'll bring it back over here and serve it to the kids. Know the kids are telling you what it was like to walk to school in be cold no bus in no transportation to play basketball outside because there was no jim but to express the importance of education and their appreciation for what they had even though it may not have been much compared to others. They appreciated so much that they have the myrtle beach. Colored school was not a public school. It was not state funded. Many of the teachers were still the same ones who ran the sunday school. The students first principal was a local reverend and their curriculum or whatever wasn't sanctioned or a state approved because it was supposed to be educated in one thousand nine hundred eighty three carver training school opened in myrtle beach. It was a new and better school for black students. So that's where they went instead. The colored school was used as warehouse storage for a while but before long it closed for good just one year after the new school opened in nineteen fifty four the. Us supreme court declared that racial segregation in public. Schools was unconstitutional. But still it would take ten years before schools in myrtle beach would actually be integrated in nineteen sixty four cookies. Older sister was one of the first four black students to integrate myrtle beach middle school and in nineteen sixty eight. Cookie was one of six black kids to integrate the local elementary school. And while all of this was happening but old school their mom had gone to just sat. There sat in an asbestos and just wear and tear elements. Whatever over years in the late seventies a group of former students started trying to save the building and turn it into a museum but they didn't have the money they needed so the school sat there for twenty years until two thousand and one the road it was sitting on was about to be widened and the school was going to be bulldozed. The former students created a committee. They worked with the myrtle beach city council and came up with ten thousand dollars but it wasn't enough. The abandoned school was in really bad shape. It was just unsuited. Wasn't here to be used. And so you know when. They realize that they're building on. Was it safe Was able to be saved in. They really started aggressively to security. Means to have a replica of the school. They organize themselves in in. Created a cookbook. Ten dollars in. It's still in circulation. I mean we have in the low at the museum of for sale. But they also rallied a group of local organizations in private donors to help. They raised money but also donated a lot of labor and materials and then the community came together for a second time to build this historic school. So welcome susan historic mortgage coastal museum and education center where we call it the heating jim not just within the city but within the status after ramana the miracle off the today. A replica of the school is home to a museum for years. The former students give tours of the museum themselves but now most of them have passed away so the next generation has taken over. This is one of the One of the front doors. This is one of the doors. Cookie spent thirty years as an educator for the local school district before becoming the director of neighborhood services for the city of myrtle beach. She and her department are the guardians of the museum entrusted with the former student stories. This is a edge of their top original. Talk boards that we have framed. And we're waiting on to have it mounted the other. And there's one other artifact that's been preserved it was especially important to cookies mom. The name color school there were people that really really upset near worse meeting after meeting. After meeting about the name. I might be offensive. That might be. My mother said it may be but in order to retain and maintain our history. That was the name of the school. The myrtle beach colored school and we wanted to forever be in the forefront so that history will never repeat itself. They wanted their history to always be a part of the city of this community of the neighborhood..

"Was telling you about this guy argue any arctic rip level back. He said the word possessed testament but that were possessed in the greek text is never associated with demons. Now it's kind of hard for us. I think to come up with word about a good word is had you live for thirty three. It is right to say that you have to think about this little blue. Had it even if you're going to reverse that what would be the opposite. A man headed up a demon. Never had a man somebody that. I'm not sure what that meets really good question to me. yes exactly. I don't know if you were trying to strike gold there but i'd say you hit pay dirt. Here's someone who obviously has a problem but are they still not largely in control of themselves. They weren't you do find in some severe cases where you think that the demon did really control a person but when you start looking at demons Let's see what we've got on time and yes okay. Well we think about possession. We think about ownership. You're wagging you're our okay. If you're looking at possession from that perspective and i would not argue with the definition. The demons obviously did spur some people to do certain things and jeff his example. That is exactly right. I am spurred drinking. I'm spurred to gambling. You know. I'm spur violence but still at the end of the day. You have some volition. You have some control over what you're going to do and you start looking at demons. Let me make my case from a slightly different perspective. But as i said the word possessed is not used in the greek tech so a man headed demon sometimes but a demon did not have the man Demons were as one source said. I like the definition temporary over those who are under their power. Let's take a look at some things some passages that we've read before but perhaps not quite on matthew chapter nine thirty two thirty three.

Proclaiming Salvation to Those far from God - Luke 5:29-32

"Luke Chapter Five versus twenty, nine, thirty two. And leave. I made him a great feast in his house. There was a large company of tax collectors and others reclining at table with them. In the Pharisees and their scribes grumbled at his disciples. Saying, why do you eat and drink with tax, collectors and sinners? and Jesus answered them. Those who are well have no need if a physician. But, those who are sick? I've not come to call the righteous but sinners to repentance. What a story so Levi the tax collector has followed Jesus, and then brought all whole host of other tax collectors to a feast in his house and centers is what the Pharisees and Scribes Describe Miss Group tax collectors and sinners. So you have this group of religious leaders who are complaining. That Jesus is spending time with tax, collectors and sinners. and Jesus says. This is why I came. I came to call sinners to repentance to give them life, he says those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick and the irony is these religious leaders are far sicker than they realize, but they think they're righteous. They think they've done it all right. Jesus says I came for people who realize they haven't done it all right. And so I just want to encourage us, particularly as we gather together in churches for worship. To realize first and foremost, what brings us together is not our righteousness. But our unrighteousness. Not Our health, but our sickness we need a savior and by God's grace. Jesus has come, and he has made salvation possible for us, and we must never forget that, and we must never lose this emphasis in our lives. We are here on this earth, still to lead people who are far from God to God people who are far from Jesus to Jesus, so throw feasts do whatever God may lead us to do. According to his word to introduce people who are far from Jesus to Jesus, made this Oh, God be the focus in our lives. May this be the focus and our churches? Please God please keep us from creating like A. Christian bubble in our lives and our churches were only spending time with people who were trying to do all these things right got re confess. We can s our need for you who we confess our sickness without you are sinfulness without you. We raise you for your salvation in our lives. We praise you for how you came to save us Oh. God and we pray that you would help to live so that others might experience this salvation so that people who? Even religious leaders might label his too far out there God that they would be drawn to you. Please Oh, God. Give us this kind of focus in our lives and our families, and in our churches, people who are far from you. People were far from Jesus people who even outcast and our Culture God. Please Oh God, please use us to lead them to you. Please make our churches places where centers. Tax Collectors to use the language here from Luke Chapter Five people far from you feel like they have a home because they're hearing about your love their hearing about your grace. They're hearing about your salvation, which we all need God we pray for this for people right around as far from us, we pray for the Dobie people in bogus down over a million of them Muslims in Pakistan Monday. Dobie people group, no followers of Jesus God. God! Please, please. You came for the sick. You came for those who are far from you. Please draw the Dobie to Houston labourers that the Gospel might go to the Dobie in pockets on May. The story of our lives, our families and our churches be reaching people who are far from you ride around us, and far from us for your glory that they might know your love and feast at your table in Jesus name, we pray.

A look at some of the hardest hit sectors in the S&P 500

"We're speaking with Sam Stovall CFRA chief investment strategist in here we were basically flat certainly on the nasdaq we opened but seven minutes into the trading day here in New York and we see the gravitational force is lower the S. and P. now down one point nine percent twenty three fifty two points is a level there the nasdaq down eight tenths of a percent at sixty nine thirty two and we're looking at at this sort of uncertainty and Sam at that you're talking about about the depth of the potential recession about just how long lasting it will be as well as which areas are going to get hit hardest and I'm wondering on the other side of this and I do want to focus on that just because markets do try to price in some sort of future but do you have a sense of which companies which sectors are likely to emerge first well I didn't bear market environments it's traditionally your defensive that hold up the best so consumer staples healthcare you know when the going gets tough the tough go eating smoking and drinking and if they overdo it they have to go to the doctor on the flip side however it's usually the cyclicals that tend to be the outperformers industrials financials technology that tend to be those that lead on the re emergence of optimism so you know I I would tend to say look to those quality companies in each one of those more cyclical sectors and they're the ones that are likely to lead

"C. dot com nine thirty two back to the checks we are back yeah we are I forget how many years ago it's been now but it's been some years since those two Russian pranksters called Adam Schiff and made him look completely ridiculous because they were talking about having you know potentially I mean that's not part of and to make him look ridiculous well true and Adam Schiff was told he totally fell for it was like trying to figure out what's going on how can I get my hands on these new pictures in the work with the F. B. I. but my god speaking of Adam Schiff I watched ghost yesterday right yeah totally I watched it also I cried at the end of it a little just a tiny back just a teeny tiny back because I forgot how awesome that movie is so good right you guys have a watch goes a long time I watch so many movies ever break holder story but yes he is totally the ghost banker is what I've been trying to tell us more hair he is a Baker here has more hair it's curly here earlier but you can it's it's I'm telling you what every woman is like this about this movie what the hell is the scene in it and like the end you know what you want from me because they really had a respectful manner and when he when he actually goes to to have to have in yeah you know he's leaving yeah finally leave for people what thank god it's like the old yeah they dry out he's like bite and then he's like I love you just like to now remember you ever were there were there doing the pottery right yeah okay is like really you know hot axes really hot anyways I'm sorry guys what ghost Patrick Swayze would you guys would do you would wait but you have to ask you what we have relations with ghost Patrick Swayze you're asking that now I'm asking do you think that ghost Patrick Swayze is high yes he he's never been my type Patrick Swayze never really been my type be there I mean he's fine he's fine wow I like everyone like your generation you trying to say no let's let's put it this way in it like road house I'd love the movie road house yeah but I like it for Sam yeah and Patrick Swayze was a fine specimen just not he was my very very bad but he was a dancer yeah I need a baby and what what's the movie were eternity yeah yeah anyways I need to get back to the anchor so the ghost banker Adams yeah this is why I always refer to him as the ghost of the resemblance is crazy it is anyway I'm the same Russian pranksters the pranks him however many years ago that was actually posted they published a video on you too of a prank call that they made to Maxine waters yes and at first it was unclear like it wasn't a hundred percent verified that it was in fact Maxine waters but then she released a statement about it verifying that was in fact her so we do know that she got completely yeah she got punked by two they were pretending to be Greta tune back to and her dad yeah sponsored and they were pretending to be a great and they were trying to tell the story to Maxine waters about how miss treated Greta was by Donald Trump and it was very convincing Maxine bought it hook line and sinker and she was like you know what she does Greta Greta tried to say well yeah and you know he mentioned the Ukrainian president and Maxine was like all my god he mentioned that present you lets me let's meet in Washington is a range of time to get together as quickly as possible and and then the Greta fake Greta said we have a recording of him doing that and so course Maxine's years yes she's wanted to get our hands on that big recording isn't that it's so weird I mean it's like she's asking for dirt on political rivals I like that for personal gain so anyway she totally fell for it and then she ended up releasing some store sort of statement do I still have the statement there is a statement that she made basically saying wall these people have you know print a whole bunch of people before including Adam Schiff Lindsay Graham Mitch McConnell John McCain and international heads of state such as a menu on the crown the end that's it that's all she will so what right so what explain yourself and I love it my favorite part was when I did tell her you know great is all in the climate change obviously and so they're like yeah we're in North Carolina right now we're in a climate summit because we're trying to protect Hong Kong tango island Maxine was like what what island well good chain go I Ellen's as I always that island particularly threatening it was like you know it's really bad and so Maxine is like well I mean obviously it's really important that we take care of tango tango this is ridiculous I was going to have some idea ready to play but there was the whole thing is so good yeah yeah they hired on to an S. yeah and it is on our website checks on the right dot com so make sure to go and listen to it you do not want to miss it is awesome maxi Maxie maximum Maxine her also when one of the things that happened while we were gone is that there was a lot of controversy about the pope because he's just making people around he is out there smacking people around yeah did you did you about him some people around hope is of no interest to me not even when he snacks you don't know okay yeah I think that guy's a twenty one ladies when he smacking old ladies around you don't think it's a I think that guy is a total jerk what do you think yeah I can't stand well I'm not I'm not like this pope from day one I just don't think he's a good he's not a good post not give pope he's not good PO we're gonna get calls from all the calyx are gonna be so mad at us because yeah an old ladies around even criticize the pope and I got I mean I backslash you can't you can't say anything bad about the pope in Ireland say anything bad about the pope because you're going straight to hell so if you missed it somehow what happened he was you know doing one of those like meet and greet and in front of a huge crowd and then like if your person that's crowding in like a giant mass of people hoping to get a glimpse of a handshake from or even a you know at best talk to have a conversation with the pope you're pretty lucky to get that few seconds of attention because there's throngs of people waiting right yeah so there and he has a couple of security yeah whatever his name handlers they were not handling like is glass mo pad or whatever they supposed to be an I don't aren't they supposed to be in one of those I mean they pay for that Dante the Catholic Church pays for like ten or whatever for some things but he was walking and shaking hands with people and then you know he had done that for a little while and then he needed to go into another direction and stories he starts to walk away well there's a woman in the crowd to grab his hand and doesn't just grab his hand but yanks him back to her like a full yank where he got jolted right yeah and so he turned around as she yanks him and she tries to say something to him and won't let go totally done that's probably why am I me without question yeah so some because she won't let go he into he looks very cross across and he smacks her hand off of his hand yeah and then turns back around a walkway and just looks few uraeus and she meanwhile looks horrified and I immediately felt just sheer mortification on her behalf like I my reaction was not even anything about the pope necessarily yeah about what must it be like to be the woman to be smacked by the post yes now live with that moment forever because she's never going to meet again that's at I mean you're done I wow only our action with the pope is I got smacked smacked by the pope can you imagine but yeah well I mean I'm yeah I have no interest in meeting the pope but I mean if I were you I'd yeah but I think I met the pope me smack what if you met Sam Elliott and he smacked you on the Facebook it was a hypothetical I mean come on yeah right and I feel like me meeting Sam Elliott is not anywhere like our meeting the pope I feel like those are two there's there is times worse like apples avocados times worse it's very didn't post still very different things mark I mean this is the spiritual leader that she's but any man or a I'm meeting somebody that you just find hot yes very very nasty thing okay that's very weird well I couldn't help but I empathize with her I didn't really think a whole lot about the pope's behavior and I know that's what most people were focusing on but what I tweeted is simply this imagine being someone who's been scolded by the pope for being too grabby grabby all were they lost their once they were so mad yeah I was criticizing the pope even though I wasn't criticizing yeah I know I read your post about it I was like no matter what and I was thinking to myself that I was gonna say stuff I was gonna start getting into make sounds like I'm not gonna do vacation because I think people are really nice if you're not say anything any and it wasn't even me you just can't say anything at all right about in my post when I was because you can see the these tweets from people who are just rabid about it I included them in my post but in it I also said listen I mean okay so both those people the woman who yanked him was very inappropriate like she should not have done and he's an old man from right now she could have you know plastered on the floor and he should not have slapped her like they were both that was back there but then they were both in the wrong I think what people forget is that he's just a do you do and that was the point I tried to make is that you know he was reacting as an eighty three year old man would react at being yanked suddenly by someone who doesn't yeah I think people are they get they put a lot of stock into I try to give them the benefit of the doubt on this even though I'm not a fan of his probing yeah you know yeah I'm not a fan of a fan of his probing I'm really not so in any case that happened he did apologize which I think is worth noting because there were so many people defending what he did and so to them I would just point to his apology owning up to the fact that you know he didn't set a very good example yeah that was not good pope yeah innovation and smack people around maybe don't smack people yeah you probably shouldn't do that let the CLS and everybody okay what are we talking about now well we have what ethical veganism yeah thing it is it's also protected now this is a big landmark this is a huge thing in the U. K. it's a protected class or to be talking about that also Kylie's appropriating and other cultures so stay tuned for that hammering Nigel show back at it at three o'clock today the latest on the situation with Iran we'll get you up to date this afternoon ninety three the eyes of a young girl being discovered by industry insider.

Michael Collins, America And President discussed on This Morning Weekend

"It was fifty years ago this week Neil Armstrong buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins the Apollo eleven astronauts suiting up as America waited would they do it would they set foot on the moon America's team of astronauts was increased to sixteen today with the addition of nine new members it was specified that they will be trained for trips to the moon a grand new goal first set by president John F. Kennedy now it is time to take the longest drive I'm for a great new American enterprise time for this nation to take a leading role in space the jeep which in many ways may hold the key to lock your honor I believe that this nation should commit itself the goal before this decade is out of landing a man on the moon and returning him safely to the year the zero gravity training another good training program the simulations walking in their space suits the tests in the water our kids had so many questions about the mission for Mister Armstrong there's been speculation about what the first man on the moon will say when he gets there but you prepare something ahead of time or will it be correct be prepared for you can we expect a spontaneous exclamation attention during the training period and up till till now I've been focused on how to do the job and how to do it and not so much with what might be the emotions of the moment I think that would be impossible yeah that it was time fifty years ago families across the country gathered in their living rooms hundreds of billions watching all over the world made in Germany and media area gathering along highway speeches setting up tents children wearing space helmets ready for launch in Florida on our way down the twelve eleven ten nine ignition sequence start the fire nine thirty two AM Paul lived lifting off the control room watching some with binoculars the view spectacular the more so for inside two hundred forty thousand miles in seventy six hours Apollo eleven enters into lunar orbit the next day the lunar module eagle Armstrong and Aldrin inside separate from the command module for college roommate hours later the eagle begins its descent to the moon and it did not come with alarm welcome to lawn means lunar modules computer is overloaded if the problem cannot be corrected the landing will be aborted the writing on the twelve acre program

Buzz Aldrin, Neil Armstrong And Michael Collins discussed on Stuff You Should Know

"Knows the the three human human beings that we sent up an apollo eleven commander Neil Armstrong <hes> lunar module pilot Buzz Aldrin and the other Guy Michael Calling Yeah Command module pilot Michael Collins and you really like we WANNA sing his praises because the it stinks to be known as the other guy I would imagine sure everyone remembers those other. Two names ask Roger Adultery. They got what they got to <hes>. Walk Around on the Moon while Michael Collins Essentially babysat babysat module command module eating Hojo's to come back. That's that's unselfish it extremely and I'm sure they were assigned. These roles because of their you know what they trained for but to be the Guy Psych Yeah you you know what that's okay. I'll be number three. That's what he did the he said up there with the command module majored State in orbit and that's right. It's waited for the dudes to come back so hats off to you. Michael Collins all right so July sixteenth nineteen sixty eighty nine nine thirty two in the morning. I'm so excited Apollo Eleven <hes> Lis- off from J._F._K.. Space Center at Cape Canaveral <hes>. It's no no coincidence there he said are <hes> go get them and named after me so it was it was a huge moment <hes> for the sort of the end of the space race. You know if it all went well. If they're all went well so remember we'd practiced everything up to the actual landing yeah we'll get to the landing in second but <hes> Buzz Aldrin later said that he was the most worried about the landing because there were the most unknowns the most questions remaining because it was the one thing that hadn't been studied in practiced in done before <hes> and it was up to these guys this is the last thing the last part of this whole thing and no one had done it and so when they took off at nine thirty two they went through everything just went perfectly stage fired find second-stage fired fine the third stage age got him into a lunar trajectory and I think they traveled this two hundred thirty eight thousand miles <hes> over about two and a half days before they started to reach lunar orbit yeah so on July nineteenth is when they enter that orbit they spent spend about a day there. <hes> sort of you know. There's a lot of checking on things you don't just get like plough ahead with your plan. You take a day once you get up there to make sure everything's working there. Checking the communication systems then basically <hes> preparing for the big <hes> the big show convincing Michael Collins that he couldn't come sorry still drawing straws if they're in the orbit right so here's the kind of cool thing that I think <hes>. Maybe if you don't know this full story that's really pretty remarkable is the lunar module was supposed to basically land on autopilot but they saw were. They were headed <hes> they didn't you know the moon doesn't have atmosphere. They'd never really done this so they didn't know exactly how to calculate their altitude and airspeed and realize in short order they were heading toward <hes> a crater with very steep sharp rooms and landing either on those rams or down in that crater was no good no and <hes> so Neil Armstrong said screw it. I'M GONNA fly this baby down he did he wasn't even the lunar module pilot he just took over. I guess as Commander Yeah because if they were gonNA crash it was going to be on him. I need to see this movie. Have you seen it yet. No not yet now and there's another documentary I think just call Apollo Eleven. That's coming out it it. Oh it'll have been out because we're releasing this around the okay anniversary so I think it came out in late. June may be on C._N._N.. Or something yeah so so <hes> so Armstrong had to take over the controls in again no one ever done this before and this guy's landing lunar module basically manually in this is unscheduled he had to make the thing travel further away from the spot it was going to land and so when they finally landed <hes> they had something like thirty seconds of fuel that's not and it was a little Harry and there is a very famous <hes> quote that came out of the Eagle Lander said Houston. This is his tranquility base. The Eagle has landed and tranquility or Houston said thank goodness yeah Houston actually said you got a bunch of guys about determine blue. We're breathing again <hes> and funny enough that was Charlie Duke. Who Was it <hes> he was the Capcom on the ground in Houston but he would later be up in the air in Apollo Sixteen Yep Pretty Neat and I'll bet he was wearing a tie with short sleeve dress button assure probably so said all those guys boy he had the problem back then was you could never tell car-salesman apart from regular people right from it engineer teacher a Bit Your Dad Rock that look oh well into the ninety s with the old pocket protector and so they landed and <hes> they were gonNA abort their mission right there and go right back up well no they? They set it up so that they could aboard at the drop of ahead if they had to. I think it was okay. I'll thought they were going to abort. No I think they the first thing they did was prepare for an aboard. God J. Something went wrong. They wouldn't have to prepare to abort press the button and take off all right. I'll get down there CYCLI- go back. I'm I'm having second thoughts about being the first person to walk on the Moon <hes> well that actually does make a lot more sense in because what they were supposed to do is take a four hour rest <hes> for safety but they were all indigo so they're like now. We're GONNA work through this yeah. It's still took about four hours just to get out onto the moon but they were hard at work the whole time. They weren't taking US news yeah which I guess men would have taken them eight hours head. They taken that snooty but they did take us news <hes> later on yeah. That's something that I didn't realize about billion the moon landing they spent a total of twenty-one hours on the moon and only two and a half hours of out walking around on the move yeah the rest of the time they were in the lunar module including <hes> seven and a half hours of sleep. I I mean they needed did so I was like. How did they sleep very sound? I thought I got drugs. I'll bet they took drugs. <hes> you think they did not they had sixteen tablets of seeking all on them. They took zero. Although later <hes> <hes> later Lunar Lander would would take a significant amount of seeking all but buzz Aldrin and <hes> Neil Armstrong didn't take any secret although they did take decks adrain tablets during the mission to their pepped up <hes> okay which is hilarious which means they probably crashed I guess so but they were not in any shape to sleep but they still slept for seven and a half hours. I bet that some of the quite asleep. I don't know I would be too excited but yeah I guess so maybe just being there in having already gone walked out on the moon. When you come back in right ready for arrest Yes oh <hes> six hundred fifty million people watch this? It's about a fifth of the world's population at the time. <hes> Armstrong spent about twenty minutes out there by himself. which I imagine was something else it's not like Aldrin crashed his come on the twenty minutes out on the Moon by himself like you just it's hard to even fathom what that was was like or would be like now? Even <hes> then Aldrin follows him down and his description of the lunar surface was magnificent desolation. I'd never knew that before to do yeah. I'd heard that that's pretty cool and <hes> they started working. They started collecting samples. <hes> surface material moon rocks <hes> basically taking note notations on like what the gravity was like <hes> because it wasn't no gravity it was one six of the Earth's gravity so you know they they were able to hop around in jump around have swimming pool kind of yeah yeah. Have you seen that footage of <hes> Jack Schmitt from Apollo Seventeen now he keeps falling down really he like headed collection beggars putting stuff in and he'd like drop any bend in over and get it and like kind of come back up and then like almost somersault like he was having a really hard time and they figured out like pretty quickly you you can't just walk on the moon especially in these spacesuits. It's a hop right yet to hop but I think even hopping hoping is not just like innate. We'll sure so you can follow over but there's a learning curve right but I did not see that Buzz Aldrin or Neil Armstrong fell down me no fault down who fell Schmidt from on Apollo Seventeen <hes> Klutzy Jack that was his nickname yeah just like astronaut falls down pretty fun to watch especially if you listen to yacky sacks or another tab so we mentioned that American flag that iconic flag drop <hes> them or flagstick or flag raise. What would you call that all of the above Commie poke <hes>? It's a great drink too by the way economy poke so the poll win in <hes> the first like six inches or so very easily and they're like Oh. This is a breeze and then it hit something super hard and I guess they're like Oh. It's not so easy so they had to lean the flag back well yeah they kind of you just wriggled it back and forth right thank you because I realized people can't see what I was doing but yeah in doing this. This is really important in doing that. They created ripples in this flag and that's the that's took moon hoax people point to really there's wind on the moon yeah. They're like House there wind you idiots. Obviously this is here on earth and that is the explanation that when they were wriggling it back and forth Gotcha created ripples and that you CONC- in footage that astronauts moving around the flag and the flags ripples remain static right so no there's not any wind on the moon but that's not win that did that to the flag on the moon. Yeah I saw about six years ago. They they feel pretty good that most of those flags what are their seven and all six six I believe are still there. They should still be there. I don't know how they would fall off the moon. Well not fall off but just this the temperature swings on the moon true those a lot of surmising that they wouldn't have survived the stuff okay <hes> but really yeah and the solar radiation and everything will we'll get all that stuff but it did <hes> it did say that they took a lot of pictures of the various times of day and they think they have found. I don't think they found Apollo eleven but you know it's not like they can get it from the surface so these are all aerial shots so they're comparing like shadows basically Gotcha and saying oh well. It looks to me like this. Is the flags really yeah so. Are they still standing up today think well. I don't think you can tell okay but if it's gassing a shadow it must be oh yeah. I guess right yeah very you. You need a job at NASA. Come mm-hmm and be like this shadow proved standing a head <hes> but in all for Apollo eleven they collected about fifty pounds of <hes> lunar material a bunch of pictures took to court tube samples and <hes> like you said had spent what two and a half hours out there yep just romping around having a good time having a good time in twenty one hours total on the on the lunar surface and then they at after while after about twenty one hours the lunar module went food which no one realizes but that's the sound that it makes space right and it went up and Ron viewed with the <hes> the the command module it were in a very <hes> passive aggressively hostile Michael Collins who's very quiet for the rest of the trip but they docked again docked like they the docking procedure after launch it when it rendezvous docked with it they got out and then they said so long eagle thanks for everything yeah blasted it off again and just Senate on a crash course to the moon surface and where it's crash site is no one knows. It's an unknown site <hes> but it's on there somewhere but that's what they did they. They said they use the Eagle to go down. Come back up and then they sent it back to Mama. So what happens on the way back it's is it. There's two scenarios. It's either those two guys can't stop talking about it and Michael Collins. She just like Yup. Great or Michael Collins is like what was it like guys. What was it like and they're like you wouldn't understand we could we describe it but it wouldn't make sense to your brain? Yeah those are people like the the solar eclipse either. One of these bad had right yeah. Kotelly you know if you didn't then just forget it. That's that's a bad outcome for Michael Collins either way pretty long flight home

"Crisis. We check the markets every fifteen minutes throughout the trading day on Bloomberg s and p futures up a point Dow futures up nineteen NASDAQ futures up twenty one the Dax in Germany's down a tenth of upper said ten year treasury of nine thirty. Seconds. Yeah. Three point nine percent. Yield on the two year two point eight three percent. Nymex crude oil up four tenths percent or twenty three cents to fifty six forty eight a barrel. Comex gold up two tenths percent or two dollars twenty cents to twelve twelve thirty an ounce. The euro is it a dollar thirteen three. The British pound is down about one point seven percent against the dollar at a dollar twenty seven seventy six and again as it went thirteen point three one. And that's a Bloomberg business flash. Tom occurring. Thanks so much. I really wanna make clear with sterling one twenty seven seventy seven it's making a new run of weakness towards the one twenty seven fifty level that we saw it about five twenty five. An that was a spike down in really some new weakness here that bears careful consideration. And of course, this is we see different headlines for American audience. It is a quarter of five I think, so we're just a cocktail or we're real conversations begin in London in that will be interesting to see as well right now on the technical market from baker's partners. John Krinsky joins us Januar all wrapped up in this international economics, but the great barometer within your technical Alice's are charts. Let me start with an open question. What do the charts? Tell you right now. Well, they tell us that despite the fact that were essentially the same level that we ended twenty seventeen the internal picture is much weaker and one of the metrics or look at the percentage of s&p stocks above the two hundred eight we ended last year to around seventy percent and now around forty percents markets gone sideways, but less stocks are participating less and trend. So that's just that. While there could be a little bit of bounce here after five straight down days that were a bit skeptical and the whole narrative of of bullish year. End rally may not come to fruition at easily that does not years. John what are the ban charts? Tell you. If you price yield or you price, or you chart, I should say if you chart yield are, you chart note or Bill price? What do you see there? I mean, I it's interesting. There was going to be higher yields a bond bear market lower prices. And the opposite is occurred with a ten year now three point zero nine three nine one of bond charts tell you well, again, let's let's take a step back. We just rallied from two eighty. You know in in late summer September up to three and a quarter. So some give back would be would be expected. I think also from positioning or sentiment standpoint, you have pretty close to record net shorts in the bond market from some large speculators. So whenever and is expecting bonds to go down that makes it difficult for those to do. So so not necessarily surprising to see, you know, pullback in and rates here, and that'll probably shake out some of the elite shorts in the bond market. But I think from a long-term perspective, we are in this in the secular bottoming process for yields. Remember, we've been in a downtrend free for thirty five years. I think we've put in a secular low, you know, a few years ago, and we're in that process of going from a downtrend an option, let's get back to the out of the market right now. The thing sucks. Let me begin with apple which I don't I can't remember if it's a stock or not but apple a bear market. You Toby earlier this morning, you're comfortable at one eighty state the case for that. Yes. So it had a big run up in the into earnings that run up started from around that one eighty level or also right around the rising two hundred eight moving average, usually when you pull back into a rising moving average you want to be a buyer apple still displays some good relative strength to the markets. I think tactically it can certainly be a by here. I don't think it's going back to new highs anytime soon, but I think it's a decent place to be if you're especially if you're looking for some spots to hide within the market in the news, the New York Times article six thousand plus words on Facebook on Sandberg Zuckerberg, the chart, I'm Facebook. What a different chart, isn't it? It is. And you know, I think that last move that we stopped at two twenty just prior to their earnings in the fall was kind of kind of the last ball trap. Moving defined bull market catharsis almost euphoria, isn't it? Yeah. It really was. I mean, it went they went from one fifty or a straight line two to twenty got probably got a lot of shorts to cover a lot of new new buyers, and then quickly reverse that and you now we're back below the lowest from the summer. So I think the trend and Facebook is a little bit worrisome. You know, we can find some support levels. But really, you know, we're looking probably closer to one twenty before it becomes more of a of a washed out by entry the consumer area. There's different there's discretionary their Staples things. I have never memorized. Well, but as a general statement, I P E multiple consumer stocks, obviously they've pulled back, but how much pullback if they pulled back. Well, yeah. Let's let's look at some perspective. We're actually discussing some of the video game stocks. Games aren't a consumer

One percent I'm, Charlie pelletan that is a Bloomberg business, flash all right Charlie thank you with midterm elections in the US coming in November and a new president in Mexico Mexico taking office in December the two countries are, nearing a deal on new rules for cars sold. Under NAFTA one. Of the major sticking points and, talks to. Revise the trade agreement speaking at a US S. chamber of commerce event this week commerce secretary Wilbur Ross discuss the progress or media close. To completion negotiations are with NAFTA particularly with Mexico we're very. Pleased that, the new. President in Mexico, wasted no, time at, all in pulling is new trade team sir McGregor is Bloomberg news economic policy team leader. She joins us now for more on this story from our Bloomberg ninety nine one studios, in, Washington DC so Sarah how would. The US and Mexico settle the their. Differences over, cars so that's the big question right now what what is in this deal you know. We're hearing that. That the US Mexico are getting. Closer to, some, sort of agreement on autos and there are so many contentious issues in these NAFTA talks but without. A doubt autos is. Probably going to be the hardest one for them to agree on so it is. Significant that if they are getting closer to some to some sort of idea of what they'd Want that basically the lion's share of the US trade deficit with Mexico is cars and we. All know by now that the, trade deficit is really big car parts right and car parts and we know that the trade, deficit, is. Trump's the, thorn in Trump's side when when he talks. About trade so it's really at the. Cracks of redoing this deal so it really can't be overstated how important it would be if Mexico and the, US can can find an, agreement on that but. The big question is where is candidate seems like the US and Mexico are sort of in the boardroom. Right now, at the negotiating table and Canada's in the waiting room and can? They even make deal over cars without. Involving Canada Mexico is the biggest? Source of, car imports to the US Canada's right behind it at number two so how how this practically, would happen it's not clear right now but it would be. Significant if there's some, progress so tell us what the sticking points have been in this area of. Automobiles and auto parts so the US at one point you know had said they want a significantly larger portion Parts of a car percentage of a car to be built from North American made. Parts so they wanted something, like seventy five percent from the current agreement was sixty two point five percent Mexico wanted a little bit lower lower than that and I think also. The US really wanted to make sure that these these parts? That basically the value of the car was coming from higher wage work Trump's biggest one of his. Biggest concerns has been US jobs going. To lower costs Mexico in, the automotive sector in the manufacturing sector and I. Think the US wanted to try and guarantee that higher wage labor was going to be an. Aspect of this agreement put into, writing now so that those jobs could be in America Do you have any idea why the Trump administration has shut Canada out of this out of these talks and are the Mexicans on board with keeping the Canadians out at this point Well I think big turning point was the election of the new president in Mexico to lie I Trump himself has said he's spoken with Anglo since he was elected. And it really seems like there's a priority right now in Mexico as well to get a deal before. This new president in this new administration in Mexico takes over on December first so I think that was a little bit of a more of a willing partner with Mexico right now and, also the US has been pretty vocal. About the fact that Canada has, sort of tried to tried to go a little bit around them to influence lawmakers in the US industry groups and and the US doesn't like that it, wants to negotiate with Canada and it thinks it's, sort of, a little bit of a, sneaky way that candidates taken. To try. And get its voice across by, talking to these congress people who are then trying to go to Trump you know complaining about. NAFTA and saying make a deal with Canada that's great and so I think you know there's there's kind of been a little bit of tension there between the Trump administration will pay Back there So what's next So you know still candidates says, and even, Mexico you know this is. A trilateral deal we want to try and keep this NAFTA as. A trilateral agreement so one element of this is that some people are thinking about is that the Trump administration would wanna get Mexico onboard with a. Deal over autos like I said earlier is a really tough a tough. Nut to crack and once he has Mexico on, board with it hoping to, draw in Canada, then, in say look we've we've agreed between the US and Mexico over one of the hardest, issues are, you you know put. It on them are you going to get on board with? This as, well you know there's some more talks that Mexican economy minister is going to be here later. In the weeks definitely going to find out whether they can. Actually achieve, that you know it's still very much a. Work in progress and I think from there we're gonna have to see what the strategy is from the US Mexican candidate to try and keep this deal together as a. Three, part deal Sarah thanks for bringing us up to speed on all. Of this ceremony, Gregor Bloomberg news economic. Policy team. Later thank you Coming up on Bloomberg politics policy power and law acting EPA chief Andrew Wheeler faces. His first congressional hearing and his first big test up on the hill.
