It'll ended up in disaster but It was it was great well because life is you pretty soon. If you engage with life under percent. I've got this thing because it's so that's what what's been like ever since. So how did you move from being in a will nine band to then doing the coporate stuff. Because that's a huge shift on not having seen loving musicians do that successfully. But what was the impetus and handed you start sort of shitting your onstage persona in a rock band and then gone talk to culprits about collaboration in working in teams and being synchronized nice little things being the tremor in the pan is about collaboration in sync. And look you know always looking after everybody in the band and then the audience you know. It's not just tapping along in the background. So in that way it was quite an easy change the actual mechanics of it and this is always advisable to everybody in the music. Business is be successful and then have nervous breakdown so i saw looking at the list down. The success go then got back kit. Iran loves me is trying to break dance. So that's what i did. And in that time i couldn't listen to music anymore. Couldn't i mean. I really went for in a big way. Couldn't even get in an alibi or a lift a take the stairs. If there's music in it so go quite fit right now and then. I was on a retreat in front silent retreat to get away from everything says in in the door and i didn't know i thought just booked up for some time away but put to that. It was three weeks that we're doing something cool. And enlightenment intensive aunt. I wouldn't wired about being like dogs. A marxist strikes anyway so ended up with this in a sweat lodge six. "Nine banded whisky, silk or belts. Adele Golf, Donald Sportswear and the Music Conservancy and with us now on the live line from two Chessie Creek in South Carolina, is Cordon Crenshaw associate and noted golf Course. Architect Dave Excellent. Who has been he's been writing been in Bill's side for the last 30 years on his own. He has been partnered and with Rod Wittman he designed Habit Cliffs, the new Nest, par three Course it Cabinet. Delaware Springs with our friend Dan Proctor, who just redid Butler Park pitch and putt and also Wild Horse golf course in Nebraska, And that doesn't even mention the jobs that he supervised for current Crenshaw. He has been an old sandwich. He's worked. Lakewood Riviera Sandhills, Dave. I can't even list Friar's head. I could go on and on and on. But this the first time we've had you on the fifth club. That's a hell of a resume their you know, they walk up to the show. Really? Welcome to show. How are you? What are you working on? What you working on this week? Well, thanks for having me on Scott and I have talked about this several times in the past that it is a pleasure to be on here with Scotty and it Just listening to you Go through that work history. You know, Scotty, I've worked together since current Crenshaw. Was far over 30 years ago. But right now I'm I am. It's your chest Secret Club. I was a Thai Hearst this morning and I've been working on just some Housekeeping things after 10 years of golfer, traffic and weather since the courier Crenshaw Worked there and 2000 and 12 prior to that U S Open, And so I drove down here to one of my favorite places in the low country to Chesty Creek Club T O walk around tomorrow and the rain and meet with the general manager on Monday. It's kind of nice. Coming back to the places where we have worked so hard. On be welcome back to take a look at things and offer an opinion here and there. So I'm down here in the low country today. Well, David, I know THS is one of the real. We call it a sleeper for core Crenshaw. But I bet the members up there it's a Jesse or over there to test you. Don't call it a sleeper. They love that golf course. And it's, uh I think it's some of the best work we ever did. And speaking of that you did a piece of work right down the road from Austin, Delaware Springs with Dan Proctor and tell us a little bit about the history of Delaware Springs, because I think that's a great place for awesome conference to go municipal courses. Filled up here. No, thank you, Scottie. That It was It was, uh It was a dream of ours. Has golfers toe be given an opportunity to design a golf course and Friend of ours and saying Sabbath introduced us to somebody and burn it. Texas and 45 years later, there was a bond election and they decided to build a golf course. And and we were there designers. So what a thrill and And at that time Dan and I done a lot of golfing and way had seen a lot of those big pills. Lots of, um, uh, golf courses where it felt like It was timeto build something that laid a little closer to the ground and And would Offer. More shot variety and interesting grains that may allow for running running shots to certain pins as well as No aerial shots. And so we just had a lot of fun working there and we wait didn't have a lot of money, which which you could say help make the course more interesting. We We didn't have a lot of film and in the hill country. If you go down too deep, you just Yeah, too deep might be five inches. You hit rock. And so we just We laid a golf course on the ground. We didn't fight the natural drainage patterns too much, And so Some people have said those were some of the more interesting greens they've ever ever played, and because they do slope. For the most part they we didn't go out there and say we're going to change the way the water goes or the way the ground goes. Just Pitch them towards the line of play. We way found it. It was good to just go with the ground in many cases. Because it just allowed for preferred angles of attack from the fairway. There was a correct side of the fairway to be on and So everything about that job. Worked well for our skill set in our experience with God. He bill and Ben Dan had worked at Barton Creek and I I've been out of copper Lewis and both those courses. Favored. Playing to a certain side of the fairway and long running slopes. On some occasions that you could you could utilize those slopes to get the pants versus just flying into the hole. So it was. It was a great project for us, and our friends want together. They have. One of my one of my favorite holds his number 17 just like Ben and Bill. This is a real risk reward hole and it's exciting hope because people can drive the whole if they play it right, But the slope comes into play there. And that's a great green, too. I just I love that hole and I love number one that is you hit it over the hit it over the creek, and it is another. It's just a It's a combination of really good par threes and Risk reward holes and very difficult par fives. I think I'm just thinking about Delaware Spring thought it's been so long, and I want Scotty and I talked a couple hours ago I began to think about it. You just mentioned two holes that are favorites. Neither one of them has a bunker on it. That's right. Well, yeah, you know, Dave, That's it's interesting because there was an article in Golf Digest this week about golf courses that are bunker Liss. You know, I think for maintenance reasons, you know, some courses are eliminating bunkers or seeing less And less of that. I think lions Municipal only has like 11 bunkers. The sheet branch. That, you know, we just finished for Kirk Crenshaw and at abandoned it doesn't have any bunkers. And I think I think, Dave what you did at Delaware Springs and what she did it Wild horse in Nebraska. With me in this book off and working on a low budget. And just not, you know, not moving a lot of dirt but just work in the ground. Maybe, like the old architect's dead back in the twenties, thirties and forties. You weren't working with mules, but you know, but you were working. You're just working the land in a simple way and taking your time to build a golf course. Well put Scott. I guess that's what we did We wait, cried. We always thought about interesting shots and interesting shots did not mean you had to assault the ground. You could just No use what was there and if it didn't And obviously it's something that was there wasn't working. We would move as much material is as required. Create interest, but Delaware Springs, the site itself had a lot going for it, and we were just helped eager toe. Put on the ground what we had learned. Through all of our experiences with current Crenshaw and And prior to that it was in this great sign, and it was it was affordable public golf was our goal. Had happened. We make that happen. Dave. You mentioned San Sabba, and that to me, is one of the gym's of central Texas, especially the mind and the country's art. And that's another kind of a hidden golf course. That people from Austin maybe not know about but sand Sabah. It is have you played sand Sava Scotty recently won nine is in a pecan grove. It's a darkness. Things talk about that course. David. You played that golf course much. You know the people there. Oh, yes. Larry McNeely was the head pro there, and he was A friend and he's passed away. But we used to go up there a lot when it was just a nine hole golf course. And Terrell Smith, who worked with Ralph Plummer was the architect of the family tree. Just continues. And then they added the second nine, but the first nine was the nine that I played quite a bit. They had a great Calcutta and wonderful We're out. Former Influence greens, the influence that Ralph Plummer head on Cyril Smith, and and when people go to Austin, they asked me they go. Is there a hidden Jim anywhere? You know, Dave? Anything that you would recommend, And I say, Go to Santo Haven't looked there and play that golf course and see what you think. Yeah, I got to tell you this. You gotta brag on David little bit because he has worked. You work on Delaware Springs. And then you go work at a place like cabin in Nova Scotia. And you go from the very sublime hill country golf to the most spectacular views you can have..

"Del Golf silkier belts. Nine banded whiskey Yummy, Yummy, Yummy. The knotty decade, Bart, the Renaissance Hotel at the Arboretum and modest Tex Mex Scotty get afternoon. And how are you a little nippy for golf today? But I know a lot of guys were at Munich when I drove by earlier this morning. I played yesterday. It's gonna get cold tonight and will probably be no golf tomorrow the next couple of days, but The end of the week was really nice to play golf in central Texas. Yeah, I went over and hit a couple of puts this morning once it warmed up, but mostly stayed in and watched. You know, some really good sports today. I mean, you t Pull in that game out that really, you know, they fight well in West Virginia's A good team got a little lucky at the end when West Virginia missed the one in one and then missed two free throws with an 89% shooter at the line, but Or hit a big shot with a second to go toe win a game that we've really wanted. Bad as revenge. It really was stealing one on the road to me, because I think what not around the first time they ever had the entire second half of Andrew Jones hits the three pointer with 1.1 seconds to play. They were. I started watching closely in the second half, and they never were up so Patient game for the Longhorns, and you're right. They got some breaks. But what a story but Andrew Jones three years ago almost to the date diagnosed with leukemia, and today he hits a game winner, Texas Now 10 and one on the basketball year was Shaka Smart and Wow. Wow. What a year the Longhorn basketball team having. Yeah, they're closing games. Where is the last 23 years? They haven't been have been losing games like this. So it's made. It made a huge difference. And then we watch Buffalo. Went against Indianapolis. Indianapolis completely blew it. It's the first half young 27 24 the first time since 1995 Buffalo. You're involved with the construction of this golf course. Corn, Crenshaw. You've been there many, many times. It is absolutely stunningly beautiful. I've got to play to a couple of times will help me out every hole. You can see the ocean and in that, right every hole, you can see the ocean. Yeah. This is this is beautiful, Beautiful, No pineapple field, and they had a couple. Of course. Is there a Palmer? A couple of Palmer courses? The village course in the bay Course that we're there for many years and then the Plantation is the one we built and they've had this tournament of champions there this year. However, it's not exactly a tournament of champions. I got up. You got a few, You know, They got a few people who didn't win win championships, including Harris. English, who Right now is the leader board at Number one, he's at 14 under par. He's just started his round. Justin Thomas and Ryan Palmer of Amarillo are in second place at 13 Logjam at 12 with Dustin Johnson, John Graham, Colin Morikawa, Rice and a Shambo, My man from Oklahoma State Victor Hovland, Daniel Berger and former Longhorns Scotty Scheffler. Just two shots off the pace at minus 12. So you see a smattering of players. You have not won past year. Of course, Victor Hovland has Daniel Berger has they? Shambo Has Colin as Rahm Dustin EYES Ryan Ryan Palmer won this year, but Harris English is not one. And I think, Scotty one the year before last, So they're letting players in. Think there's about 42 people in this field? Yeah, There's a little bit of debate. I saw Jim McKay. I was not happy about not having chant all champions there. But with the tournaments that were canceled last year would have been a small field. Oh, yeah, they had done it that way. Another person who's part of this is our friend Justin Leonard, who's now taking Really good seats at the Golf Channel broadcast so good good for our friend Justin Leonard With Terry Gannon today, the former North Carolina state basketball player, So Justin Leonard, leaving the home in Colorado to To go to Kapalua, suggesting he looks like he's about 22. Scotty, The City of Boston is proud of the Longhorns Today Texas finally wins the football game. 69 31. We're here to talk, talk golf this our next hour. We talked football in, man. We got a good lineup today. Bill core. Of the design team of core Crenshaw, part of a company. You are involved in here. One of the partners. Great news for Corn Crenshaw for the second year in the Rome Golf Digest his name. What have you guys golf courses is the best new golf course of the year this year at Sheep Ranch out in Oregon and banded dudes. Congratulations for a job Well done, And we're gonna visit with Bill to talk about that Just a little bit Well, Bill, maybe. Well, I think he is without question the best router of golf courses. There He is, Besides his design talent, and he had been have been together for 35 years and just work so well together. Yeah, they they each to their own. Way of doing things and it melts together. Just very, very nice. And I think they would be they'd be perfect to redo lines. Municipal Yeah, when that'd be great it be great. Now you said t it high and let it fly. You didn't play golf today didn't slink off today. I didn't play yesterday. As a matter of fact what to Cisco's for breakfast yesterday morning Because my group said it was it was gonna be 40 degrees. We teed off. No, we didn't. We didn't play. I think some people I'm sure there were people in Munich today and all over all over the municipal golf courses in Austin if they weren't watching kind of football before getting the golf your thoughts about the Longhorns win today, 69 31 over Kansas State. Well, I think Texas did play. Well, You can't certainly can't say the offense didn't play very well. The defense was a little leaky a time. Certainly. It's not a very good Kansas State team. They've had so many problems issue and your reason. Covert. Yeah, and everything and s O, and unfortunately, we get Kansas next week, which may be a worst team. If that's possible, and so will end up seven. And you know what? His seven and 37 and three Kansas had a moral victory Today They only lost the Texas Tech by three. Love it, which is huge, and I heard some from from from Tech fans today, and they're there. There moaning loud about Matt Wells, who, ironically, their head coach didn't get to coach today. Kaze at Cove. It's so Texas Place Kansas. To end the regular season. They'll go to a bowl game, and I'm sure Ben and I'll talk about it for the complete our six o'clock on the end zone club Tom Herman does he still have his job? Is Urban Meyer a horse? You based hill? Where is urban Meyer in this whole mix, and we'll talk about that as well. But we're here to talk about golf on our phone lines are always open to talk about golf. Any questions about golf courses. Equipment trips, possibly weekend, helping out also, the PGA Tour is I guess this is their last tournament of the year, the last official tournament of the year and they're down in Mexico. It Mayakoba and Scotty as you look at this leaderboard, Let me tell you what I would say. You blink your eyes and in 5 to 10 years, these guys could be among the elite on tour because this is a really, really good group of young golfers. Led by Emiliano Grillo of Argentina of Argentina. Who leads Give us the leaderboard. Yeah. Malian Agrio. Is he sleeping? He's tied for the lead with Tom Hoke. TCU got time hopes to teach you guys. Yeah, you know, it's interesting, Ed. Was with not to name drop, but I just happened to be with statements speak Jordan's brother who works out of the discovery property driftwood. And one day this was this was a month ago, he said. I'm gonna do a little bit on draftkings and somebody told me to pick Tom Hoke. It's a home visit Hoagie. I don't know. It's either Holger hokey, but he better get ready. He'll be at the don't match, but But he said, Pick this guy, huh? Did And so I've been following the deck and lighted up. He makes a whole lot of birdies. And so anyway, he's running second in the tournament here and Victor have lands up to hear the Groveland Yes and Adam Long, who said a really, really nice year. This year is his eight under as well on Dustin Thomas is up there too. Yeah, Justin Thomas is up there. He's the biggest name in the tournament shot 62 today. Which you gotta look at him tomorrow to have a good chance to win too long Horns made the cut Johnny Vegas and Doug Gim. Unfortunately for our friend ball, Hoff Hosler. His mediocre play continues. I don't know what's going on with Bo. But after the PGA Tour resume, he has not played well. So Bo did not make the cut in this tournament also, Ah, former Longhorn Kramer Hitchcock. We need to say congratulations to Kramer Hitchcock. Who is getting married this afternoon this evening in Dallas. Yeah, he is, And a lot of our friends were up there for the wedding. I don't I'm not saying it's a big wedding. But there's some people there. But anyway, grille leads by one over Hoager hokey. We'll find that father I think it's okay. I think you may be right. But I think it's okay and Hovland sit 14 under and Adam long. Justin Thomas, come down the line. Draftkings is fun. If you get on there and just and just play, you know it's theirs. You could do it legally. Um, but it's you know, it's hard. It's hard to win a draft king. I've never done it and do they have Match ups. How do you play and gamble on golf with Draftkings? You just do you have a person versus person? Do you pick who's gonna finish up in the top five in a tournament? How do you do that? Generally, you draft a six person team. You're giving a $50,000 lot month. And you and there's different values associated with each one. They did the same thing for NFL football and for basketball in MBA, and you know there's tens of thousands of people playing on there, so it's like winning the lottery. If you happen to, you know, hit a big hit a big jack out and win something. Let's talk about money again because you said, You said your group didn't play yesterday, but I drove by out there at about 10 o'clock it and there were people on every hole, sometimes two groups on every hole. And I got to spend some time out there with Ben Clements and the office in Junior Golf Academy. Ben Crenshaw was out there early this week to congratulate a young man that made an albatross on the 18th hole, which happens to also be a hole in one on a break teen on our four Ah, hole in one on a par for it. He's a young kid. Our friend, the Donovan family. How old is he? 10 or 12 Face was 12 when he made the hole in one last week. He turned 13 this week, while so pretty good way to break into the hole in one club. Wouldn't you say it really is And what tee box did he hit it from? Scotty Willing to 85 is what I heard. That might be from the whites. Yeah, the whites. Wow, to 85. I know. As as you know very well from playing music for years and years and years..

"A native Austin at so just more famous people in Austin, Texas, that love lines Municipal Welcome back to the 15th Club. Our show brought to you by ABC Bank. Capital, Chevrolet and supreme Lending with assistance from modest Tex Mex had quick burgers, nine banded whiskey, the Munich Conservancy's okra belts, Donald Sportswear and not a deck and bar at the Renaissance at the Arboretum with us now on the 15th Club, Live Landers, our good buddy John Patrick, of Augusta, Georgia and the Augusta Golf Show. It's Masters Week, John, but it's November. You've been going to the masters for 30, I guess. 33 35 years. It's must be a weird week for you, my friend and welcome back to our show. Guys. It's great to be back on the show. Let me tell you the bad thing about Facebook live. I've seen the venue from which the show is emanating today. Clements there on late Austin Smallest television screen is 65 Inch. I wish she was cost today. Clements is not cost today. Climates, my friend. Public radio. Money is no urine radio. Money is no way love trade. That's don't wait, wait. Yeah, I tell you what done. I'll tell you what we're going to do. John in honor of Augusta, Georgia, and you We're at my house tonight and Our wives are going to try to create Luigi's for us. That's right, Famous and so, so right now I'm having a cheap glass of Chianti. And then later on, we're gonna have Rick salad. Yeah, Pizza. And lasagna recreating Luigi's a famous restaurant in Augusta. Yeah, now that it is that you're going to have all of that it is that it That's all the above baby I read on Facebook. I read on Facebook yesterday. You're not going to be going to the tournament. What? What's going on with you? Because you never miss Augusta, your picture over there. Now that's a complicated answer. You know? I still do a morning show each and every day. For the news, talk here in town, and we sat and talked about our coverage. And historically, we've got several radio stations in the cluster. But on the news talk, historically, we take Westwood one wall to wall coverage on Saturday and Sunday. We've made the decision to also take it this year Thursday and Friday, so we do When we come off the air at nine o'clock Normally Steve Smith and I do an hour of masters previewed on Masters Week and we and we also, you know, let everybody know about the traffic situation. Well, there's no traffic. This year, So we decided to move that show not do it Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. We'll do it Thursday and Friday as a lead up the West was won coverage, I say all of that to say Timing just made sense for us to be at the radio station, as opposed to at the course where you're not going to really have access the players. It's still kind of unknown how much they're going to let you out on the golf course. And we just sort of made the decision and we only had one credential. So we made a decision. We'd like to be there. We want to be there, but we don't have to be there. So? So it was a decision made unit, you know, unilaterally that we just wait. Just pass it and do our coverage from the radio station and I'll tell you the truth, guys, and then you're familiar with With the landscape. I play golf..

Who will get you to Ireland and Scotland and around the world to play golf Scotty good afternoon. How are you today? I'm doing great. And you know, how much I love to talk golf we? Yes. Every Saturday afternoon will this week even more than that. I'm looking forward to talking to our friend max Davidson talking a little bit about music and Elvis and coach oil, I'll talk a little golf. He he will talk off because he's a golfer, but MAC Davis one of the greats singer songwriter actor ahead his own TV show at one time, just a wonderful fellow. He'll be with us. So after the after the first break while they're playing, and I consider this a fifth major. I'm jumped on the bandwagon where the players know the players tournament is considered a major, and I think some of the guys at the golf channel back me up today to the crowds the excitement, and they're playing it in vita the home of the PGA tour. You don't think it's a fifth major? I don't I mean, if if they weren't going to go back in time and consider the old Western Open or the north south there. There were a couple of tournaments back in.

Thank you nine banded, whiskey, the saved Munich, conservancy and Tzilker Beck belts. Scotty. We got a very special guest with us now on the fifteenth club live line, not only was she a wonderful golfer for the Texas longhorns. A great reporter for the golf channel. But she is now the wife of one of the greatest golfers of all time Sergio Garcia, let's hook up with our friend. Angela Aitken's Garcia now on the live line. Angela welcome to the fifteenth club. And how are you? I'm doing well. How are you guys? We're doing good. I did they mentioned too. She's also on radio too on Sirius XM PJ to a radio has her own show. How is everything tonight? I know you're not in Singapore with with Sergio. I'm not sure if he's teed off yet. He will be playing on TV tonight. It's gotta be a little difficult since you're not with Sergio the day of a big tournament. Chairman. He's one in Singapore. Off in ten minutes. It's eight it'll be eight thirty AM in Singapore. And it is hard when we're not together. I mean, I've I like the tournaments. I I like following Sergio around. I think he he enjoys having me out there as well. But I just really liked all around. So I know exactly what's going on with every shot golf is such a different unique sport because the television coverage, you know, you don't get to see every shot many many times. But with a daily ten months old she's sitting next to you right now getting squeaky crying a little bit. It's just a little bit more difficult to travel so much, and we just made a family decision that Sergio would go over to Singapore and the Middle East by himself though daily. It didn't have.
