"I'm not worried but we gotta do the work in this a lot of work we gotta do. The work and congress needs to act as well so we have to figure out legislatively what we need to do. And what. What lesson tactically and strategically have you and your colleagues drawn from this at just a. It's just a clear reminder that there is people power the power is with the people and we're powerful individually but collectively. We can mountains. And i am even more encouraged to st. What we're able to accomplish now because we see that we don't have to follow the same protocols in the sane you know. How do we usually do this particular thing. Who did you usually call for this. And all of that like we have to think outside of the box because right now we are in a situation. That is so different. We're finding out more information about kobe. Nineteen what happened with the alphabet. What happens with the delta and will there be another variant. Do we need a booths like all of those thing. Everything is just always evolving with this situation and then going backwards and it's just so much happening with this. We have to be just as flexible ready to move. And so i think that's what that's a lesson learned here is to think outside of the box. We are legislators. We should be able to do the work in figure out. We have amazing teams. We have people in our community ready to talk to us and share their ideas. Let's listen and get the work done. It just may calls for us to be a little uncomfortable to do. And meanwhile it seemed like a lot of democrats in washington worth spending more energy defeating nina turner out in ohio than they were on extending this addiction. Moratorium the congressional black caucus of of which you're a member..

You're seeing those ads. That are non. Stop lying about her. Whether they're exxon mobil answer democratic majority for israel ads or brown ads or as backed by hillary clinton lies on top allies. Give you one example of a lie. They are now pretending in mailers for her opponent than nina turner is against fifteen dollar make minimum wage and against medicare for all what so even though brown is against progressive positions will fight tooth and nail does progressive positions. She knows the voters are progressive. So she is pretending that nina turner is against progressives right before the election now that is a prototypical establishment corporate democrat. Lie the reality is they want to make sure your wages are lower. That is their policy position but when the election comes to pretend to be on your side so they're doing vicious smears against the turner as we speak and i'll end on that no bernie sanders said it anina turner said and i'll say why do you think millions of dollars in corporate money has come against nina turner because they're scared to death that she's gonna actually represent you guys. "About. Separating us is about uniting us. It's about class and caste she said it's absolutely right so whether you're black white latino or anything else. They're trying to divide us. They're trying to divide us. We've got to unite on economic issues where we agree. It is if you're looking for a cause your troubles and who rigged the system against you do not look down. Look up that is what nina turner saying bernie. Sanders is saying. That is what the just democrats are saying. And they are right and anita emphasized throughout We want an america. That is as good as promise. So is america great now. Know is every legislator in congress. Great now no but can we get them to be as great as their promise. Well that's our job. We're supposed to push them in the right way in the strategic way to get there and we have an on a lot of issues they have an overall. We've got a lot of work to do especially with an emigrant party to have them live up to their promise and to be as good as their promise and long way to go on that. If you noticed by the keep a real pretty guys nina and and the other speakers with exception of cornell west they were you know four or five ten times more fiery than the average speaker but there were about twenty percent less fire than they normally i say the exceptional cornell whiskas is nothing but fire or But were they less fiery because if they say anything slightly wrong all the mainstream media will do is focused on. Oh my god. They're not a good enough democrat. Remember everybody they. They're not going to be beholden to democratic leadership and they will paint that in their articles as if nina turner is right-winger bernie. Sanders is right wing. Which is insanity insanity. They are the definition of the left wing there the definition of the progressive movement but the media lies to you on a regular basis and and and to that point the one thing that everybody after size throughout these beaches was love. We do this outta love. And and that is low for the voters low for the issues love for things that are going to make your lives better if you got more wages if you've got childcare you can actually give more to your family. You can take care of your family. That's love you got healthcare. You're gonna live that's love and goes on and on. Is anybody in the media going to focus on the theme of today's rally which was love. I would be shocked. They almost never do. And but i will give credit where credit is due on that. Cleveland plain dealer endorsing a turner. And that makes a giant difference so give credit so the local paper for doing the right thing which is nearly unprecedented by by the credit to state representative. Stay senators council people and the mayor of cleveland cleveland who all endorsed the turner. Those are local representative. Say for our community. Nina turner's right. I don't care what the democratic majority for israel says or exxon mobil says. Hillary clinton says no nina turner is right for cleveland and akron in the district. And they're absolutely right about that so it was my pleasure covering this rally. I don't i literally cannot think of any congressional race in my lifetime. That is more important than this. And the voting Has already begun and we'll go through august third obvious on the night of august third. The young turks will cover the election. And tell you who won and who didn't need a turner will be on the show And to talk about it okay. So help or participate in any way that you're comfortable with but do whatever you can to give us a little bit of hope. That love can win. That justice can win that progressives can win and can bring you that justice. I don't know anyone. I've had more ho for the nina turner so That is the reality and our job is report the reality and that's what i'm reporting to you now. Okay now we we gotta go. But i gotta i told you guys that i would read your comments because you are part of this show without members. We can't do this show. There is no question about who's endorsing nino. Today's fantastic lineup. it's true. Her opponent brown on several occasions lied about local Politicians endorsing her. They came out and said i don't know what the hell she was saying. I never endorse her. How dare she put my name on there. You know as some that had been neutral before said. Oh yeah now. I endorse nina turner. Thank you for letting me know who's telling the truth and who is it Tina and i love that jank t. Tnt dina turner. This'll be off the air in conversations with politicians and other people right. i always say. I other prize either. Pass the bills or you. Don't everything else is nonsense. Okay if you didn't pass the bills you didn't change anybody's life but your own so somebody becomes a congress person and they have a nice big ego. Who cares if you didn't pass the bills. It was all about you. It wasn't about the voters. And you didn't help anyone if you were in the media or your host and you got more viewers or you got more revenue or you got more this or more that or more glory. But we didn't pass the bills. Who cares then you wasted your time and everybody else's time on your own glory in your own ego eyes on the prize. Pass the damn bills and so if we do that whatever we do we should do with that in mind the critique and you endorse and you help based on the situation based on the facts with your goal of passing the bills so we help you guys voters so more from twitch now shares me Ub three rj. I n all join in. So did i love this one..

"Is everything without a leader. It is so hard to win but if we have a leader can make all the difference. Look give you one more example here again. Corey bush credit for having amazing sleepy out to show what infection looks like what homelessness looks like and how we gotta fight it. But if i'm being honest with you. There is a slightly More effective way to have done that and that is an less painful by the way nine so going through a lot of pain and she give her credit for standing up for you and sharing that pain with you or k. but the slightly more effective way would have been to say. The democratic leadership is fighting for you. Digging should more pie this jank girl the show you just listen to as part of the ty t. podcast that work at ti t. We're working to be the change. We want to see in the world. We're the home of progresses popular news and commentary shows like the young turks. The damage report the conversation old school and more we deliver an uncensored unapologetic version of the news. You get anywhere else. Listen to ty. T. on the ak app or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay and so. Why am i for nina turner. Because i think there's a chance that she's going to go there and say it's also joe biden. It's also democratic leadership. Joe biden deliver for you on fifteen minimum wage. He didn't deliver for you on student. Debt relief he didn't deliver on a kate. Marijuana off of schedule one and i can go on and on is doesn't literally dozens of policies that joe biden said he was going to do on the campaign trail. And then once you got an office said as usual with democratic establishment. No i was just kidding. I'm not going to do it. And what did. The media do uproarious applause. So i'll probably two point where they do false promises and we'll pretend that you are in favor of those false promises and we will not tell people when you actually Fight against those same promises we can see with our own eyes. We saw the delaware senators voted. Yes minimum wage now. One national media reporter pointed that out. So you've got the mainstream media who sells out for access and tells you that the powerpoint great when they are not when they actively lie about it and then you've got the nihilist saying no. They didn't come on my show. So i'm going to lie to you and tell you that they do everything wrong and you should attack them because they hurt my ego insanity insanity guys look. When i had my trouble with the group i started justice democrat. Did i betray them because they said something to get something by the way off about. No i said is on the price. Go vote for them anyway. go support them anyway. Wasn't candidates by the way it was the staff at the tax okay and by the way identified. The staff did a great job and finding the candidates are supporting the kenny's why did i compliment the people who attacked me because on other issues they were right and if without them we had no chance of ever winning and passing those bills and now there are ten justice democrats in congress and hopefully with nina an eleventh on the way without them. We had no hope with them. We have hope is on the prize. It isn't about me it isn't about other hosts it isn't about other politicians isn't about other people in the media. It's about you nina. Turner dot com. So the one thing. I want to emphasize about this. I mean i've emphasized a lot already but Nina says something great in her speech. She says.

"That affect your life to increase your wages to get you. Healthcare is greatly increase in turner goes to congress. Brown goes to congress. Nothing's going to change. You can have the status quo and everybody's gonna cheerleading. Everybody in the media is going to write a story about how wonderful it was. The progressives were defeated. And there's no hope in this country and we will have corporate rule forever in the corporate media will cheer that. I had david weigel from the washington post on the show a just a couple of days ago and it actually we are to get just yesterday and and why goes it Honest a journalist and he said yes. The culture in washington among journalists is that the status quo is what is realistic and good and positive and disrupters are looked upon with great skepticism because the corporate media. Some of them know a lot of them. Don't even know it. They're useful in. And you know how that phrase ends up because they repeat what the people in power one day protect the powerful that is why they are united against nina turner's because she protects you. She protects the powerless. Now if you listen to the nine nine on the left who say do not have hope. Do not help someone who's trying to help you. You've been led astray by demagogues or looking to profit off the hopelessness. I say yes to hope. I say yes the nina turner. I say yes. The justice democrats are going to fight for you and by the way if they don't uncertain issues. Do not shut off your mind. And say i'm never going to listen to anything that anyone says you. Critique don't want it his writing and give credit where credit is due so we critiqued on fifteen dollars minimum wage with pushed bernie sanders introduced an amendment and we found out who the corrupt corporate eighty are in in congress in senate who voted against dollars minimum wage while they pretend to be in favor of higher wages. Those are democrats not just republicans. So you if you're on. The young turks audience fighting on that issue made a difference. We now know who the bad guys are. We will continue to put pressure on those guys and yes sometimes you have to put pressure on the good guys like we did against bernie sanders on that issue. And now some are complaining that bernie sanders won't go on their show etc. So what so what. You're not supposed to do your show base on access and who's nice to the host. Who cares who's nicer the host. The question is who's nice to you in the voters and the way they they show that they are nice to the voters is by actually passing bills that affect your lives in ohio. Eleven right now at minimum wage is seven dollars and twenty five cents. That is a horn. That is fifteen thousand. Eighty dollars if you work fulltime. Every single day. Monday through friday forty hours a week with no vacations for the entire year. Fifteen thousand dollars and people like corporate democrats like brown says that's fantastic. I'm never gonna fight for minimum. Wage of your bike tells me to bow my head. I will bow my head and right now. Joe biden does tell them to bow their heads. Joe biden set the to delaware senators to go vote against minimum wage of the young turks. Audience had not fought for that. You would not have known that the delaware senators sold you out. You not have known that. Joe biden authorize that those delaware senators are never going to vote. Unless you'll buy gives them permission to. Joe biden told them apparently to vote against fifteen in which we found that out. Because you put pressure on the right times in the right ways now when court bush turns around vice for you so that you don't get a victim from your house as she sleeps outside the capitol that you give her credit when jamal bowman montclair jones and rashida toledo go out there and say you know what we are not going to vote your by so-called bipartisan infrastructure. Package if you do not vote. For the actual infrastructure package has three and a half trillion dollars and has forces the green new deal and climate change inside of it. Well then you give them credit for doing the right thing. And not only. Is nina turner going to join forces that are voting or voting in the right way and speaking in the right ways that incredibly powerful speaker is going to have the most powerful mike in the country and that is on the door the how the united states house of representatives but on top of that on top of all of that. She's going to lead. If i'm wrong about that i'll be the first one to come out and admitted to you guys and i will tell you. Hey listen we hoped again. And it didn't work out and now we're going to go for someone else and we're gonna go for someone else after that we're going to go for someone else after that until we find our fighter until we find earlier now i believe that is nina turner. I believe with all my heart but also on my brain based on experience based on when she's done in the past based on what she's done today and that's why they need to turner will make all the difference. But if i'm wrong we'll do it again and we're gonna do it again and we're going to do it again until we have our fighter and we have our leader so again. All of my experience leads me to believe that actually is nina turner so when we fight we win. It is not the event. The mainstream media fools their absolute utter fools and they're picked to beat fools. They don't want you to fight they want you to be quote unquote civil. Why you're civil. You're never gonna get any change. The status quo and the and the power for going to be incredibly comfortable incredibly comfortable. That's why the corporate media tells you don't fight. Don't fight be civil now. By the way again there's people on the right the left to say that fight any sane way go fight physically. The right wing says now. There's a new poll out. Forty seven percent of republicans saying that That that they might have seen the law into their own hands. That's vigilante justice. As calls for violence twenty eight percent of republicans say they should do flat out violence actual violence. That is not the right way to feick. January six is not the right way to fight for the nile is on the left. They're all left and all those same people who say oh. Pick a random vote on a thing. You know you can't win. You don't even have a plan to win and then if you don't do the thing that you want which makes no sense at all and has no strategy. Nah nope nope planning and then go and viciously attack the progressives that are on your side because they didn't listen to your dumb ass idea and say oh they didn't come on my show. My idea is all about me my ego. So don't vote for them. Don't send the money. don't help them. That person isn't for you. That person is demagogue. Who's trying to destroy the progressive movement in this country. The people that are trying to build it up or people like nina turner. You got to go help them in every way that you can. If you can vote in eleventh district by god you got to do what you gotta gotta convince family and friends to do it. Because hope matters and hope is real. If you're out there anywhere in the country you can phone bank for her nita. Turn dot com and obviously so many of you already given it neo turn dot com slash shallow..

"Than i feel. Sorry for you and Whereas we still have hope we still have faith in in there's no chance of success without hope Okay so today. We had a rally for nina turner. We covered on the young turks It was obviously cleveland and incident lemon ohio. She's running for the congressional seat bernie. Sanders introduced serb away. At great speakers locust speakers did a wonderful job. Won't tell you a little bit about them. In a second bernie sanders was terrific and and then keith. Ellison spoke former united states congressman current attorney general minnesota and. He said look elections matter. If i had one. Would we have been as aggressive in prosecuting derek. Show for the murder of george floyd. We don't know what's this. keith ellison. Very strong aggressive was attorney general minnesota they very aggressively prosecuted and convicted there. Chauvel voting matters anchor cornell west Let the place on fire with a great amazing speech In in as i explained. Look i don't agree with everybody who speaks on every issue. Of course not. Nobody does right but when cornell was in my opinion Goes too far. He goes too far because he cares. And he's passionate and he's trying to do the right thing and intent matters okay And when bernie. Sanders doesn't go far enough when he's not as aggressive and calling out his colleagues We do critique but When he does the right things like shows up for an ally and a sister In nina turner when she needs it. Most we give credit where credit is due when corrie bush can't show up because she was busy sleeping outside in the streets in front of capitol hill to protest the evictions of real americans her voters and other voters. Who are going to be evicted because the moratorium is going to be lifted you give her credit where credit is due for fighting with everything. She's got okay so it is important To be honest about all these issues. And if you're being honest about eleven district ohio. One of the candidates was picked out of a bag They were all no names running yesterday. Determines about thirteen of them and in the beginning no one had any idea who the salish from was going to back because they all had very little experience and at establishment decided. They were going back. This candidate brown and and they they did not disperse their money based on. Hey who does more ideologically And so some candidates will get this other. Candidates will get that no. They made a decision a unified decision in this among establishment. Democrats they were going to oppose the turner and to pick one candidate poser. They decided who cares who it is. The weather is going to tell us that they will do everything we say. We'll pick them and brown raise their hand and said yes. I will do whatever you want from me. If you're a democratic leadership if you're establishment democrats if you're a corporate lobbyists and you're going to give the my campaign that will do anything for you and by the way that is quite literal Because they were majority for. Israel's spent a giant amount of money that is a right wing group that has infiltrated the democratic party democratic party of for a lotta the leadership. They are thrilled to be infiltrated. They are thrilled to take that money and do whatever they're those lobbyists want and now nina turner is not going to do that. So those lobbyists are not thrilled establishment. Democrats are not thrilled about nina turner. And so they said you will support israel of no matter if they're government is left wing centrist right-wing you'll never questioned him and brown has publicly. Said yes sir absolutely sir. She said that she will never condition. 'aid israel based on any policy or any condition on the ground or any situation in the region she will give to israel billions of dollars of your money no matter what by the way giving israel is perfectly defensible position. And i'm glad that we gave them iron. Dome mccabe israeli citizens safe and alive and i'm thrilled about that. I know i wish that it would be equivalent for both sides. And i know in america. The idea of protecting palestinian lives is unthinkable. So when i say why. Don't we give iron dome to the palestinians Not just republicans but democrats say how dare you trying to protect. The lives of muslims is unbearable and unthinkable in america. Well you're wrong. It is thinkable and so at the turn doesn't as not sending me about iron dome but she yes. She cares about palestinian. She thinks that they're human beings And so democratic majority for israel says she must be eliminated so he makes me a you go and cry and you can say. Oh no you're not allowed to criticize lobbyists friends. I don't give a damn that you're you're friends with them. I will criticize them. What they have done in this racist absolutely positively corrupt and. They're not the only ones and don't focus on the background. It's got nothing to do with it. The most important color is the color of money. It's green or k. Exxon mobil has entered this race Comcast is entered this race. Drug companies have entered this race. Wall street has entered this race. Guess where they've entered it every single one of them against nina turn. Brown has raised their hand. And said i will serve all of you. Give me the money. And i will do whatever you say. Nina turner says. I will not do whatever you say i will do. What the voters say. That is why the lobbyists and the corporations and the corrupt in washington are united against nina turner. That is why progressives should support nina turner and. I'll say it again. Do not listen to the nihilist the pretending to be on the left fighting against progressive warriors like nina turner. Telling you not to vote not to get involved to be skeptical as cynical of every progressive. Who's trying to help you. Don't listen to those demagogues neither turner who's gonna fight for you and our chance of passing bills.

Guys is an exciting moment for america right. Now 'cause we are on the verge of electing one of the greatest progressives that this country has ever seen and insane something. I know i know because i spent twelve years of the united states congress and when you send nina congress just in a few days from now she is going to change that place and i just want you to know. I'm so proud of you. Meena meena is of course awesome person in her own right but she understands the power of us. She understands the power of us and she's gonna go there and she's been obedient with ao. See she's gonna be there with bernie sanders and she's been a she's going to be there with all of you and we're all going there with and we are going to change this country because we desire. We deserve to be able to go to the doctor. Hop off medicare for all anybody that he those who the most regressive let me tell you. We desire to cancel student debt. Absolutely yeah and we deserved somebody. Who has the guts. The courage to stand up in demanded on our behalf absolutely and i also want to tell you things that nina will have to face in congress that you and i don't even know about yet but because she has been consistent in her courage and in her advocacy for us. We know that no matter what she encounters. She's going to do the right thing. Because she has done the right thing absolutely. And and i'm gonna tell you this i'm gonna tell you this. It is a very bad very bad idea to say we just want somebody who's going to do whatever the president says. It's not a good idea. Even if you love the president. And i i'm i'm not here to criticize the president but even if you agree with what they're doing you want.

"I welcome the young turks coverage of the turner rally in cleveland. This is one of the most important elections going to do about to do hyperbole. Ready ever of my lifetime But i really really don't think it's hyperbole. I'm gonna explain. Why in a minute. And i think now time to explain so we got a camera crew in cleveland and as soon as the speaker starts speaking obviously we will go straight to it. I'll do some contrary probably Between the speakers So now who are obviously near turner's going to speak at the end Right before her is going to be a guy you might know bernie sanders as nice little role reversal. Because turner used to be the last speaker to introduce bernie sanders at so many of his rallies. She was of course his campaign co chair. In two thousand twenty now bernie sanders will be introducing anita turner which is great Now this a star-studded event you've got other folks involved as well. Corey bush keith. Ellison cornel west And so many others so now in terms of The state of the race and so many of the things that are happening. I've got time to you on that As i look at my hair. They're so good. European soccer star okay. So let's before. I get into why this is so important and tell you a little bit about the speakers including corey. Bush was up to last night which is amazing I wanted to get quick. Shot what it looks like now. This'll be our trump moment as we show you an empty podium. Oh not an empty podium. Somebody's getting the crowd ready. He can we take that live actor. Let me hear that a little bit. We're getting one second read article because when you read the article usually you'll hear that the vast majority of the people who were vaccinated then get severely..

"Gotta remember the baby. That's i said his fourteen years ago. He's still they didn't do a retraction god so bad. The people we have to be president of this country. Just it's just amazing mandate greg's obama was sort of risk right like he was by then. Well he was. She was sort of in the ballpark of human. Most of the time. Man you know for the most of the rest of the of the century it's been either can't speak english right like bush undefeated charming folksy discussed. Anyway right. I mean those videos and you watch him. You laugh right yeah. You don't wanna go assault somebody while you're watching. That ran who makes you wanna Which presidents inspire that could me tasks after all get that with with trump and then by it's kind of like women who you know women have their cycles and their predictable. Usually i mean maybe not. Some women have cycles that aren't visible but men. I'm generalizing here. Like men also have their own hormonal stuff and moody nece going on but like they don't you guys. Don't even have a schedule. Well some of that strategic though what do you mean well i think. Sometimes you wanna be unpredictably. Hostile keeps you. Yeah so you can weaponize it right. But i feel like trump is like a regular cycle and trump is like the woman is predict. You can always you know what he's going to do what he's gonna say like his outbursts. His attacks predictable. Tiffany jewish reporter. That was just weird but biden. You never know right. I like it when he talks about slick failing ratings and how they work for the you know the newspaper that's going out of business is yeah those are funny. Yeah but when he's actually like rattled and trying to be insulting for no reason that that shit was pretty crazy. Always line right. I guess. Sometimes i guess the her the sangha like really really stood out. Yeah gotta yeah. That was really bad. Yeah that was what i thought. This was the trump was going to turn it into something entirely different. Thank my thought. There was a possibility of religion. It's a black black shirt kind of a movement. You know early on his speeches they were like making a show of tossing people out of the the events and you know remember he was just telling people to like bounced our heads off the car and that sort of thing they had these thing happened. I thought that was going to be like an escalation grant but it pretty tame for trump. after that he was just mainly just behaviorally unstained. We have to look at mystery. Science theater trump. Yeah we down. Do you think we're going to miss that saturday. Do you do yeah. He was funny. I i miss. I miss bush. I guess it was all the stuff around trump that was so exhausting rant but okay so that so that happened. Where are you on a scale of one to ten with. How in control of himself. Bud nece i don't know that he looked pretty like this Discombobulated unaware that last clip. I mean he's got that. Like i was just hit with an or kind of gets that a lot but it's more and more often. It feels like to me. But that's not a democrat sucked. That's just the democrats getting old thing right. It's not you can't you certainly can't make yeah. I can make fun of. You can cuss this person's. I i can't make what we're talking about again. Exactly right. yeah Okay so that was a democrat. Suck republicans suck. There is a lot to choose from this week. I guess there's as article in politico. America is not racist becomes a gop twenty twenty four mantra lightning rod issues such as critical race theory and quote. Police are a staple for republican tenders. And there's a picture of mike mike pence. He's doing that once caught a fish. This big posed. That's my favorite political. Does though yeah. it's very. Yeah so the lead reads Democrats made structural racism centerpiece of the twenty twenty Presidential primary now the republican rebuttals emerging as an early plank of the twenty twenty four. Gop contest america is not a racist country The mantra used by nearly all the republican contenders is unavoidable in the earliest stages of the gop is nominating campaign at the annual family leadership summit in iowa this month all three potential presidential prospects on stage Former vice president. Mike pence former secretary of state. Mike pompeo and south dakota governor christie noam Took turns joining in the refrain in one form of the other top democrats including president. Joe biden vice-president president kamala harris have said publicly. They don't believe america is a racist country but republicans are hoping to portray. The party is out of step with the thinking of mainstream america and by attempting to harness lightning ride issues just critical race theory and defend the police. Gps signaling race will again be at the center of the twenty twenty four campaign. And so i guess. Why the sucks is that. This is just bracing for what we're gonna spend twenty twenty four hearing about this is the whole thing is going to revolve around. The is race race debate. I guess i had some mild expectation that the The republican party might have some kind of a piffle about a different strategy to employ because most as far as like both parties. Just use it to not do anything right right. Like i keep thinking about the dnc when they kept talking about structural racism and how you know. Cova defected black people disproportionate name. What were they doing about it. Right like not medicare for all night even like an emergency. Neither of these things is is actually a productive conversation right. So.

But what would the headlines have been. If this were a year ago man although he would that would have been so tame for trump. He always insulting people. There isn't there's a really painful. Like aw one where he was. There is just like totally pathetic like there. Was this guy in the audience who is jewish. In fact i think he was was almost like a setup question to give him the opportunity to to say how good he was with juice stuff and he just berated him in and the guy like apologized afterwards it was it really was it was it was one of the worst things. "Envy Angela yee Charlamagne the god we on the breakfast club was still kicking it with ex senator Nina Turner shelling do you think it's been too much focus on trump and not enough on on buying because I've been questioning Biden's leadership right because you know over the past several weeks we see Donald Trump on TV every day doing his daily briefings about corona virus and it wasn't really any counter programming coming from the person who was supposed to be the democratic nominee so much so that when Cuomo started doing his daily briefing that became the kind of program and now people looking at Cuomo like yeah we want him to run for presidency new dentist either a lack of leadership arm on Biden's partner he's not capable of being a leader is just too much focus on trump all you need to get out there you know this is the competition so although the primary the way the the way the primary may have been paid to play that's not gonna happen in the general difficult be hand in hand combat describe and so five for the body will have to get out there more and showed people how he's going to be what it is and I am an appointed you may tell me that I didn't get the answer about you know even enough just to be anti chop no it's not enough it's not and I want people to dream a big agreement expand that mile we've been told to do by the fact that Donald Trump is is widening we get that does what we got that memo what is your remarked bowl defeat president Donald Trump and also have a vision that not a single one and you're right it's right across from if that's not that's not gonna move a whole lot of people specially disaffected voters especially people who are the most vulnerable especially on the backdrop of cold while not me what will be a goal motivates you already suffering your right here's something I need to know something or not if you're I mean some guarantees that you actually don't do the things that you said that you're gonna do and you're not just paying bills to produce me that's the kind of leadership that we expose both and get the peace I will talk and have a vision and that is the part that is lacking right now is my last question senator and you don't think even Bernie would say I want you on a task force if he's gonna be a party faithfuls you know start article I'm not been a part of those negotiations are taught by supposing by outlook beyond okay you god no I will not fade just landed out is telling the truth but I don't know I know but sometimes there's a consequence to tell you the truth you know there are consequences the problem until I can't that's okay this person was a person that called me out and perhaps they were right so let me bring that in to help me right the wrongs and I think that's a really valuable and that would make me say okay he's really above this okay this drastically with me I'm not with them that would make me say okay I can rock with that yes I can't what will president punishing somebody was telling the truth that sounds great that's a great leader bandit barking.
Bernie Sanders leads the pack in Iowa
"Will Bernie Sanders has had a few good days in Iowa that is the state of course that holds its presidential caucuses in three weeks the Vermont senator picked up an endorsement from an influential progressive group and a well regarded poll has Sanders slightly ahead of his democratic rivals in the state now this comes as this campaign has begun going after other leading Democrats more forcefully and her political reporter wanna summers joins us now from the college town of Iowa city Iowa high one Hey there so how did center spends weekend yeah he had a really busy weekend here in Iowa perhaps the biggest event was this climate focus town hall he held here in Iowa city it drew a really young diverse crowd and when he was seeking Sanders specifically called out the work of the sun rise movement there those young activists have been putting pressure on Democrats for months more forcefully address climate change and they're really put the idea of the green you deal in the forefront of the democratic race for the White House in sunrise came out over the weekend and said that their members were endorsing Bernie Sanders I mean is that is not the only democratic candidate who who's been speaking with a lot of urgency about climate change to did the group give any sense for why they chose him over others yeah they did so I spent sometime talking to these young activists and they say that while other folks are talking about climate change it's very Sanders who most forcefully speaks out about the urgency addressing what they see as a generational crisis I sat down with the Barciany Prakash you is a co founder of the group and I asked her why she thought her that the activists so overwhelmingly back Sanders she has been a vocal climate champion for his entire career he said things like climate change was the greatest geopolitical threat facing America in twenty sixteen and was laughed off for it now that's become a main position it remains to be seen how much this endorsement move things for Sanders here in Iowa and elsewhere but it certainly points the fact that this is a candidate who continues to perform really strong with the youngest voters does the endorsement point to anything about Sanders campaign this year do you think it does one of the things are really seeing David is that a lot of progressive groups are moving and Bernie Sanders direction he's got the energy among the Democrats last flank yesterday in New Hampshire he also got the endorsement of the S. yeah you the labor union in New Hampshire we've also seen him get backing from a number of notable progressives including representative Alexandria Ocasio Cortez a freshman lawmaker from New York and one of her congressional allies representative for she had to leave of Michigan was in Iowa city something for Sanders St which seems to maybe be working for Sanders I mean last week some new polling came out I mean do we should say it shows a very close race among the top four candidates or so but Sanders holds a narrow lead I mean it how is that dynamic playing out on the ground yeah that's right the one thing I could really tell this weekend in Iowa is that this race is getting tighter and as that's happening Sanders as his campaign starting go after other top tier candidates more aggressively a couple of examples Nina Turner he was one of Xander's campaign co chairs wrote an op ed for one of the biggest newspapers in South Carolina where she essentially argued that former vice president Joe Biden has repeatedly betrayed black voters and undermine progress by and of course continues to perform very strong with black voters in polls and separately the Sanders campaign has accused Biden of rewriting history over his vote for the Iraq war something that's come up obviously quite a lot with the recent conflict in the Middle East the Senate has gone after buying before right yeah although it's escalated some but we're also seeing something new the Sanders campaign though not the cans themself going after Elizabeth Warren despite months and months are these folks really haven't criticize each other this comes up after political reported this weekend that the Sanders campaign used to scrap that explicitly suggested Warren was appealing to highly educated voters would explain the hardest coalition now Sanders got asked about this he said he just read this motor script he didn't take responsibility for it he said he had never attacked worn calling her a good friend that said that no one was going to be attacking her and here's one of summers and I was city

He's time kind of seizure. Almost but one of them is really weird and and the husband is like petting the Mayor de Berber. Thing right yeah. There's a weird yeah exactly. It looks like he's about to give him a shave so it's meant to be an answer to the big structural Megan. Yeah so that's the hashtags. That's that's odd but I mean good thing. Warren Has Bailey because remember. Her husband wasn't being a team player when she's having a beer she's like you want one of beer. He's like he's like no thanks. I don't want you to be president. Yeah yeah this is an interesting one. I don't know anything about this guy. What are we? Don't know anything about by worry. We'll we'll we'll we'll have to learn so this is how we learn which we talk a little about the campaign You know we're getting down to the Nitty Gritty of You know the the I was on the third New Hampshire is in the eleventh. And it's crazy right now like we haven't had a situation like this ever. You're in the Republican field last time with similar but trump was clearly winning at this point last year. This there's complete chaos in the race on the democratic it excited and almost none of the hypotheticals except oddly enough Bernie winning make sense in terms of an early resolution to this race. So going round New Hampshire. There's this all kinds of things going on. Did you see Bernie there by the I didn't see Bernie I saw I saw a bunch of other folks Yang the Mayor Pete Warren mayor no just mayor. Yeah photo ops for this Hashtag the Dan rather have perhaps aw off stage yeah And then there's a secondary thing that's going on. It's an interesting Around the debates so the January fourteenth debate they changed the criteria to get into the debate. And you have to have a sort of heightened poll results you have to have either four pulls five percent or to polls at seven in the early states And the only problem is they. There haven't been any qualifying polls like Thanksgiving right. So the the candidates who didn't didn't qualify before have no way of qualifying going forward because it can air of of democracy or an air of motion movement. Yeah Yeah So. There's this whole subterranean it's not really being reported on a whole lot Booker wrote a letter to the DNC. Basically saying you know what the hell rate you know. You're you're going to have an all white panel and you're not giving us an opportunity Gang called them up and offered to pay to have polls done and some of the other candidates protested tested and just last week at the end the last week the DNC released a statement. Basically saying we'RE NOT WE'RE NOT GONNA commission any polls we we sort of encourage the private polling agencies to do polls if they feel like it but we're not going to make it happen so it's like suck it. That's what Chris Adult these. These folks have Cory Booker Watch. It's a dog. Eat Dog world. He's a funny guy. We have to get him. I liked liked. His dog ponds remember that he went the extra voice them Paul some the combination of the pond and his New York accent. New York. New Jersey accent is crazy. No that was fantastic. So the Iran happened while I was there and immediately there was a huge Almost all the candidates ended its put out essentially the same statement. They said they said we. You know trump didn't think this through it was poorly planned. They should have notified if I congress but there were only really two candidates who came out and said we shouldn't be in the Middle East and that was to- Tulsi and Sanders. Saint Bernard is just curious. I'm I'm just curious to know what you think like. What will this have a tangible impact on the campaign because traditionally like the Democratic voters? There's there's been a lot of history in terms of attitudes towards war and how it affects the the presidential campaign especially New Hampshire go back to nineteen sixty eight. Ah McCarthy LBJ thing. It's one place where the divisions within the within the network party or are Kinda pronounced so it was interesting to be fairy. Warren gave two different statements. Right road on that Or devolved depending on how you look at it but yeah I mean I think that sanders this is one of the areas where sanders and Tolsey really do stand out From the rest of the field and I think it's good I mean. I think it's good. I think it's you know. A major contrast point for sanders with Biden right because they've been hammering Biden support of the Iraq rang or Biden can't seem to keep straight when he was four. The Iraq La. Yeah Yeah but I think that yeah I think people are are sick of. I think this is one of these. Like kind of post-partisan things that people on both sides of the not not politicians but normal people who are both sides of the aisle. There's a lot of antiwar sentiment. There's a lot of we don't want to be messing over there. We don't WANNA be assassinating people over there. You see that on the Republican side to run into problems. Yeah Oh you're saying it's not just in the popular among politicians. Yeah that is true. That is something that's into and it's weird. We're at this moment. Where as Connor said this? When I interviewed him I was like? Are you shocked. By how Hawker some dams. And he's like I mean. Has a Democratic Party voted for the Iraq war so no I think it's good and there's also the other issue which is that the the authorization used military force which is what the provides the authority for any so trump did a thing that was kind of little commented on last year. He declared the designated the entire Iraqi. Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization so under under the two thousand and one law that Bush passed the a. m. f. the authorization used military force that allows them to Kinda unilaterally attack. Anybody who's designated a terrorist so you don't have to go to Congress. You don't have to get were declared so by doing that designation. They don't have to go to Congress anymore and a lot of Democrats voted for that Bill. And it's a terrible bill like it should've told a long time ago we're no longer we're using it. You know in all these places were going after nation states and instead of terrorist organizations and AH only a couple of candidates are going there. You know you talk to Rotana. There's you introduced the. Hana the Guy Congressman Richman. They introduced an amendment to try to force the president to go back to Congress nuclear war and that was taken out Apparently in conference I talked to Gabar about this last week. And she's like I don't know who did it. What is the Democrats Republicans? Yeah it'll be kind of interesting to find out what if that comes out People are shaking their fists about this. But it's possible that you know both parties were in on that. Is that a case of wagging the dog away. I just want you just want to get another other dog. My dog is a war thing. Though isn't it is. Yeah that's when you create the pretext to which happened a little bit. Yeah right yeah so. It's also good because it is a popping. The bubble of or the shattering the myth that that trump is inherently the anti interventionist. I mean he he. He's gives good. He knows how to speak like he is. And in some ways that are more hawkish but this is a reminder. He's not he's not a peace nick he's not he's not I should. I should cop to this. I have written in the past that I firmly believe that trump has either because he senses. It's a political matter. Former whenever that he's not particularly stoked about having general wrangles White House and going going to full blown war. But you know this is true. I think both things can be true. I think that it's like it actually makes more sense in a weird way. This is like A. It's like a petty vindictive. Vindictive comes off as like a really inappropriate assassination as opposed to a toll but it the consequences decorous. If you know what I mean like a decorous I like but Totally unjustifiable war with Bush in Iraq. It was it was even though is based on total ally. It seemed seemed formal. It seemed to go through the rate formal chat channels and we saw some damned website about that part of it right it Kinda does it is the larger trumpian thing. which is the issue if we're for so many people as the decorum as opposed to the actual content But I don't think we're being trump defenders by saying that he's both hot headed and end dehumanizing surprised by this You know trump's political things on this sort of suggested something else but did he happen to them but you know In gabbard talked about this too if you look at the progression of the policies in the last couple of years it's really been and designed to kind of box around and and create a problem. You know whether it was the a. m. a. m. f. ing or arming Saudi Arabia or the sanctions. Or whatever it is you know. Inevitably you're going to get a conflict out of this if you just keep applying pressure so and trump is a big Saudi fan absolutely conflict. There all right. This is an interesting. Then you know you look look at the Democratic race. In general I was just blown away by how much of Zuid is right now. It could be. It could really be anybody. There's never been like this. Who would you bet on right now? Bernie okay right yeah. I'm I'm trying to stop my heart from my head. I mean I've always said this and now it's a little bit Than than in the past my feeling which is that it would be easier for him to win the General Enron the primary now for the first time I'm sent I'm feeling that maybe people Maybe it will win the primary. Maybe people are. I think people are afraid of Biden. I think some people who liked by ends politics are afraid that he's just too demented and I think people don't think warrants as take a little bit demented as. Yeah it's over the yeah. He's he's gone too far. I don't know what do you think if you look at it. You know Mayor Pete again the the black black and Latino vote thing you just. You just can't see how it works. I O in New Hampshire like he would have to stop at Super Tuesday or South Carolina. So you don't see how that works Biden you just can't Imagine Biden winning Warren's having trouble right now so I don't you know I don't know it's weird..
