Now jennifer said she was honored to represent latinos from around the world. She ended her speech by saying life is a tango and we must keep dancing. That's amazing she look shows good. I literally was just watching the staring at her. I mean that woman just is not disappoint that read. I don't know if that's valentine. But i hope it is. It's not a theory auto show. Yeah so so bad that she did that little message in spanish and it just reminds me that she knows exactly who and what put her ear and i think she remembers. Selena was that moment for her. "Yeah okay this. This is a theme. We saw that the our listener said worked and it was food related. And here's just a few run through a few quick ones. Someone wrote if you're reading this. I'm probably hungry. She said this. Got me a boyfriend to my llanview. So i mean rain and i are. Podcast is called girls eight. Like we're all about like the food stuff. So i think like anything where you can open somebody up like totally my love chicken tenders. Of course the guy is going to be like. Where's your favorite second owners. Can i send you a chicken tenders. You know i had. I think on one of mine it was like. What do we like to debate. Or something like that. And i said New york versus l a pizza tacos Who which which coast has the best such such. I put that on mine. And i got so many responses to like men like of course. La is better. Or i'll take you to the best tacos fine or you know you should go to this place. That has these tacos in this little hole in the wall. So i had a lot of men who like genuinely wanted to debate me but ended up turning into like a fun conversation about like our favorite places to eat and things like that so that actually did work and then you have the opener for the date like you have the opener for like. You've never been to that my favorite taco place. I gotta take you right and especially when it's simple food when you're talking about chicken tenders tacos pizza when you start talking about other things and it's like okay. Where's this going. So maybe.

Love You both and I appreciate you reaching out during this time asking me how I am it means the world to me and just understand that the goal is not perfectionist. Just progress. Yeah, absolutely on it before you go. Is there any places right now that we can link in our description on the podcast that you? have been really passionate about donating to or petitions and whatnot, because we've put out a bunch of links, but I'm as to ones that you are very passionate about for me. I think just look up the bailout funds in your cities and I. Know some of some of those change, but for me. There are people who are peacefully protesting. That are being arrested incarcerated. Some people will you know are are not being accounted for for certain amount of time, so these bailout funds really helped to locate people and try to help people who are peacefully protesting change change dot org. "That could be a hindrance to you know there are people who are who are disabled. There are people who have immune diseases that can't go out protests, but if you're making phone calls if you're sending emails if you are. Posting on social media in getting in touch with groups and seeing what you can do to help. They might need people to make phone calls. If you're if you're able to reach out to local organizations and see what they might need. Maybe you can't go out protest the maybe you can go in help in one centralized place in Hell with them. things for people who are going to. You know there are a lot of. Ways that. You can help, and you just have to ask in I. Don't think there's any shortage of people needing extra sets of house enhancing emails. Know also writing to your government officials because you know as much as we are in this fight ally ship is really important, and if you're watching these protests, and you see how. Different the police can act when there are people who are not black apart of these protests when you see them being aggressive, but change that aggression sometimes when they're someone else. That's right there next to them. That's that should show you like the fight that we're in, so I think you know it can start in the smallest scales it can start, but you know I I've been donating a lot of inches trying to see who needs resources in start small. Because a lot of times, you'll start small. Ask what needs to be done and someone might say nothing, and then they can call you next week and be. Be Like Oh. We need your help so i. think it's just letting people also that you're available and don't be frustrated if you feel like you're not doing enough. Do what you can decompress when you can. Because this is not something that's going to be over in two weeks like as we've talked about living with Kobe nineteen. This is also something now like things are not going to go back to normal like our normal that we had before. This is done, so you might as well get involved in any way that you can. Because you want things to get better. It's going to start literally with you. Right. And you know we've been taking steps to donate time petition, send emails, do calls and I think that what I'm seeing and you know thinking about the future because I don't want to be one of those people who does it now, and then in two weeks from now. I'm like okay I did it. you know, sign up for the emails that are going to consistently. Push out emails to you that remind you okay. I need to help because we've all. We've all shopped on a website where we get emails every day. We see them. Yeah do that with this as well. Absolutely in having conversations is is really important to you. Guys I have to tell you. I used to work at CBS years ago and I was doing on air work there to be like two thousand fourteen, and there was a young white lady that I worked with that. We just never seen the clip. It just always seemed like she's from my first day. I felt like she didn't like. It always just felt like these microaggressions. She would tell our boss. I was being aggressive with her with. It would be. It was so weird to me and I finally realized she had a problem because I was black. and. I never went to hr about it. Because that's a whole nother issue about feeling comfortable in those types of situations but i. actually she had, she ended up having to work with me on project, and we had to go to the end of lacy, the image awards, and so we had to ride together. We had to go in for a while was. was angry at her for a while. We were just beefing because I was like. You don't talk to me crazy. Crazy energy right back that day. I just had more tolerance and I think something spoke to my spirit, and so we went in the car. She was just like I'm really nervous about going to the image awards and I was like. What are you nervous? Wait? Why are you nervous about going to a black? And she was just like well. I'm going to be one of the only white people there on my girl how you work every day. And I'm like it's crazy to me that you're nervous and of the event with like. Some of the wealthiest people in the black entertainment industry people going to be in taxes than you nervous and that was weird to me. Will also very telling about her experiences in you know people think because you live in la or something, a major city in new entertainment that that doesn't happen does and so. We had a instead of getting offended that day I. And I talked to her about it. We hosted the event and she had tears at the end. And she was just we were walking to the car and she was like. Wow, that was such a beautiful and I'm like yeah. I I need you to be able to see people who look like you as. Human Beings, and in a lot of ways the same. And she cried for a really long time outside in the parking lot. It was just like. I feel like I've been looking at things with such a different Lens with you personally with with race in general, and she was like I'm really embarrassed about. have been feeling and it wasn't until I was able to meet her with a little bit patients that she was able to see me in a different way. And sometimes I think it's just you're so fed up with being treated a certain way that you don't want to have the patients in. It's not your responsibility to teach people, but if you have the opportunity to do so, it could change so I say all that to say that. It sparked something in her. She left the company a year later. Just for budget reasons move away, and now she works for a community organization that works in like getting getting like equal funding for different communities and. Now. She has a kid and she deemed me about two years ago was like our conversation completely changed my life like I'm working toward equality every day now that's my job and she was like a son. Now in. It's my job to make sure in educate him on differences between people. She had grown so much in two years of work and worked with the ACLU and had really just like completely changed. Changed her point of view from going these microaggressions to someone just complete empathy, and she was apologizing just so sad and I was like girl like you. All work like I just helped. come spark this thing in. She said that she had so many conversations with people in her family and into some relationships, but also helped grow some relationships in her own family, and that one conversation we had just the one. Completely changed the trajectory of her thinking in how she had hold herself responsible, and it sticks with me, and and and she message me recently with all this going on, but to this day she were still cordial, and we speak because she talked about how one conversation completely changed her and I'm going to happen for everybody so weird, and it doesn't mean anything, but if you have enough conversations with people being open and honest Actually, believe it will make a difference and I'm really an advocate of having uncomfortable. I'm confrontational like I like to. To get into mud and talk like I. Don't WanNa. glaze over nothing I. Don't want you to have any passive aggressive feeling stores me. Let's get it out because I like to know what I'm dealing with. Whether you love me, let me know also we can navigate after. Let's not pretend I. I'm tired of living in a world like you know. Let's let's have those conversations with the people, so you know who has her back because I. Promise you if they don't give a damn about black people. They don't care about you either. Nina.

"And, there is for some reason my house is blue. Your House is are all pan. For whatever reason. There's groups of people that just hate room houses. Though every time they come into the neighborhood, they just consistently throwing garbage in my are consistently just messing with my blue, house, if for whatever reason you're, townhouses, houses aren't affected. We're in this neighborhood together. We see each other were friendly. BEF-, whatever reason. There's this group that continuously harass. Our neighborhood messes at my house. Because blue is the way I bought it. I don't have money to change it. It was. Just the way it is, but everything else is the same. And then one day, somebody decides to burn down my blue. House, of course you're townhouses, matter but the fire department to Cohen in Hamble this fire right now because it's been consistently dealt with a police report I. Don't know why it's just like a horse. All lives do matter, but we're talking about black lives. We're talking about this House that's been consistently broken down over years. That's been consistently being been treated differently in this neighborhood and it's. It's like I. Don't understand if black lives matter if all lives matter to people why you're not a bit not as upset as I, if my life matters as much as yours. Weren't you more upset at how people are being treated so obviously us to be divisive, and that's what people are upset about. You aren't upset aboukir worse. People are upset about the way that used to be divisive when when people are saying, don't kill us. Absolutely and I think like you said when you're saying all lives, matter How are you even believing? That's true right now? Like that is clearly not true. So you saying all lives? Matter is straight up saying yeah I, don't get it because clearly, that's not true. We're else. This would not be not to get it because I feel like this point I think when everything started happening in Ferguson in two thousand, sixteen in these movements really became prominent like we've had more than enough time to educate ourselves like if. If! I could have black lives matter and the first thing someone comes back with is all lives matter I I know that you were just committed to misunderstanding on purpose like at this point. You know better so it to me. That's to say you don't care in I'd rather you just say that? Instead of writing all lives matter, I'd rather just tell me. Don't give a shit, and then we can both move on his going gonNA spend time trying to educate somebody who was committed to misunderstanding me when I could. Better serve my community. Definitely social media has been such a big thing right now, obviously because it gives everyone access to these videos statements to see what's going on blackout trees. There was a huge thing on instagram as curious what your thoughts were on blackout Tuesday and how people can use social media as way actually help not just say. Oh look I posted this, so I helped. I mean I think the premise was so convoluted. So I. Think when when I got the information. which you know, this social media activism so. When I got it to me, it was kind of started with the music industry, and then from what I was understanding. It was a day to stop being focused on yourself. It was a day to say it's not a of mantra projects. It's not a time to post a Selfie. This is the time to call attention in action to black issues. So that's what I took it as some people posted it in this went goes for twenty four hours didn't post resources. Resources didn't promote. Someone's project didn't promote black business. They just were like okay. This is black and I'm out and I didn't feel like that was the point of especially on a day where we should have been in encouraging boating, and and you know a ways to kind of change, so I think that it's you know if the intent was good I, think like anything with the game of telephone down. The message got a misconstrued but I think that you know there. I want people to get involved in I know everybody's doing it at in the level that they can so post the Black Square. Okay, it's a start because of some types of people and I'm sure you saw that on your own time. It was the first time they said anything was. Square. Some of them didn't have a caption didn't know what to Hash Tag but I think if you just posted this black square now you're going about your business in. You missed the point. It was specific call to action, so if you just took it to. You know it's not A. I feel like some people are using this movements almost like a influence or uses the opening of a new store like at something to just hose in front out like it's not that I think if you're seeing that specifically, that's okay. Call out like I I've seen some things where I've just been like I can't believe this is how you're utilizing this moment like I can't believe due. To be educated in smarts and work have friends who are black to be. This ignorant has to be willful. How can you be? How can you not understand what's going on because there are things that are going on in movements that are happening? The I didn't have anything to do a me. And I still was able to understand empathy to understand it in the power of it, and so I think I think at this point. You guys people aren't. Doing. Anything is because they don't want to. Yeah right and for the people listening who you know. Maybe you did post a black square and you felt like. Hey, that was your part. Listen to what.

"Like. People will discuss situations of discrimination or bias, and there's been so many times where I've just been told out. You know it's not what you think. This is not that situation, so you start to feel like you can't talk to anybody who hasn't been like. There are so many times where I've experienced a bias where I've been told I I'm being dramatic, or I'm seeing something. That's not there so sometimes. The only refuge that I find people who look like me who have pet those same experience I think now. People are talking about it more because it's just something that can't be ignored any longer and I think we I think people see racism as one thing like I think there are a lot of people who haven't experienced it, if especially if they're not a person of color that their their interactions with racism have been minimal and may think racism means. Being a member of a white supremacist organization, burning across saying backs, racists and what I need people to understand is racism. Comes in many forms and I think people have to be okay with knowing that they have internal bias and think we are inundated with. Racism in in what we see what we watch, and how people are represented on TV and how you know. Who's playing the on, you know? Law enforcement shows like I. Think those start from a really young age, and so we create. Viruses that sometimes want to ignore think it's okay to say you know what I was looking at this with the wrong. Lynn's I didn't use the right words for this I don't know my frustration is coming from I don't know why I crossed the street. When this group of people walk by me, I think it's Ok to acknowledged that so can deal with because there's so many people were like I'm not racist. I'm racist. Be In in in. It doesn't help the situation because you're in this kind of denial of what you are contributing to society in a lot of those microaggressions by holding your person, somebody comes an elevator, or you know wondering why. Someone was promoted watts in questioning if they have that, you know the same qualifications as you That's those are those microaggressions that contribute to the deeper a misunderstanding I think people don't want to acknowledge that and I think it's damning. To say like in an I've had those same conversations myself, because when it's another woman like we as women right if we were all somewhere, say we're at a bar. And there was just a Dushi guy at the bar and he on paper wasn't saying something super offensive, but in his cadences and the way he was talking to me in the way, he's leaning down as a woman. I can look at you guys and be like and you guys. Women would be like Oh. We know that. Goes away and I'm like girl, and you guys are like what a jerk or as women we have by unwritten. Unwritten codes that as soon as something happens with a man, we can look at each other and I. Don't have to say anything. You guys know that. It's the same thing with black people right. There are things that happen these like micro Russia's were like. What the hell, but people who aren't a part of that they imaginary so when we talk about me, too, and we say believe women and we as women can understand why what another woman is saying and why we how annoyed we get, men don't understand. That's the same frustration I feel as a black woman, but I'm dealing with both you know and it's like. A lot to deal with it's a lot to to be a woman of color to be a woman to to deal with all of these gender roles and also having to deal with color ISM issues. It's it can be a lot so that understanding is important, because sometimes I don't necessarily need you to understand, but to pretend like it doesn't. Exist is a whole other level of frustration. I mean wow, absolutely it the way that you explain that even opened up my eyes more to the situation saying you know I I understand what you're saying. Because I know that we've been through the same thing, we see a guy where like. Where this is going so to put that in perspective, where that also matters to the black community I, think is such a strong message for people to hear that you guys have been going through this since you were born. Yeah and I think you know I've also gotten people who are like hitting me up like I am so sorry and I'm like. I, don't need you to feel pity for me. Like I'm not sad to be black like I love being black everything. We moved the culture. It's an amazing being what I don't love is is. The systemic racism that has been going on for so many years that has contributed to some of the biggest transgressions obscene faced in humanity so I think you know nobody wants. Nobody wants that I. Think it's just that. Don't complete. Please hitter black freezes. Is. I think it's just in us to want to comfort people that we care about or just being touched by something, but try to channel that energy in a way that it doesn't feel it's coming across like damn I'm so sorry. You're black because I don't think there are people who feel bad. The black I think what we crave is understanding of what we crave is You know if people are fighting to be treated the same. It's not people you know. It's like it's crazy to me when people get so upset about like black lives matter comment because it's like if we all live in a neighborhood..

Get out there and speak, and we don't WanNA pressuring you. It's just the fact that we've talked about this in our last podcast that not we're never going to understand. We're never going to relate. We don't want to speak for people. We just want our audience. Our listeners to learn and trust what you are saying is absolutely true what you've been through what you've been feeling. Your entire life is true. That's how we can hopefully become an ally. Yeah I. Think it's it's the time now to ask your friends questions, and and you know, and also just keep in mind that the people that you're reaching out to are dealing with an immense amount of stress, so they may not have the bandwidth for you right now, so try not to take anything personally I. Know personally haven't responded to every text you know, and it's not a personal thing I'm just trying to protect my heath as much as I can. That little bow percentages are feel like I might have and. And I don't always have the energy to give it to anybody else. So I definitely encouraged people to be proactive I think great. Ask questions, but I also think utilizing the resources that we have. We can find these silly videos on tiktok in twitter. We should be able to find resources so really even to searching hashtags could lead you to a place of information on people that you may be you know seeking information from probably posting on their social media as posting links, so it's really imperative to do the work. Because people may not have the energy to. To Walk you through anything right now, and it may not be personal, but don't wait for anybody. Just try to do it on your own If you can and then if you have people in your life, who are willing to you know talk to you. That's amazing to it. Just depends on where people are at and everybody you know the the days I feel like I can help with teachable moments in their days from like you know I've had people reach out to me in WanNa and I'm like grow. I can't help you like I'm just trying to do not lose it and not be completely angry so I think it just give people grace during this time. Because I feel like it's very high tension right now and people don't have that normal. You know normal. Grace that we might give somebody embiid. They may not have it in them right now on I. Don't always myself. Yeah you this this video of you. Has Pretty. Much gone viral. We it. We thought it was amazing of you. Basically saying now is the time to to stay end up you. Boyce's that you hear are so loud that if you are complicit in not saying anything, you're not. You're not helping anyone in. You need those those voices to step up. Is there it. Can you just elaborate kind of on were saying with that in how? Our. Listeners can can stand up. For me I I. Have you know to White Co host? On nightly on e who we were having a conversation about ally, am might think in general offer like a lot of the black community feels like we're in this by ourselves. you deal with like microaggressions at work you know sometimes or in in social. Situations where people make you feel like you're crazy or.

Something that we have seen on social media is a template that was made that you can easily click. That will write out an email for you. "Is there anything that you want particularly address and talk about. Just get Out there you know I just WanNa make sure that I I love that. There's so many women in this industry right now continuing that support cross platform Ormes. You know what I mean because I think sometimes there's the people who are the most like raw raw don't necessarily have the best intentions in mind that support and just really supporting across platforms and and showing up you know and really like support. Your friends like their platform support. Their podcasts shows support their small businesses. Like don't let us talk about. Don't you tax them. Supported show support. Show show up and if and sometimes people people don't know like there's genuinely times where I have been in like a tunnel of just all my own things and I don't know and I've had friends hit me. I've been black girl. Did you see that I'm doing X Y Z. And I'm like oh I didn't but thank you for telling me I can let people know what to do where to find you and I just think that community is really important especially amongst women because you know there's there's there's a lot of us doing it in a lot of us nap feeling like were navigating it by ourselves and there's this huge community of us doing the same thing and and I wish it was more blended. Yeah exactly and that's what her and I are. That's the end goal of all of this to unite each other. And we're all going through the same. Yeah I know what I mean like you said we gotta support each other. I totally agree. We don't need to compete for well. What's meant to be yours is going to be? Yeah absolutely they'll just work hard and support each other. There's enough opportunity in enough money and enough happiness to go around for all of us. Yes let's all try and so what is the next. What does this year look like for you? Where do do you project A? What do you want what things have some good things brewing And and I have award season. That's coming up so you know I'll be doing the red carpet for a grammys for Oscars Golden Globes. So I'm really excited about that You know big one one dry. That's that's again. Yeah this is how you know. It's hard especially as a plus size woman. Because you know I've had issues with designers and turn this lizzy Jones has talked about this. You you know where you know you've had these designers don't address you so fine of mind you know the the in there also good in there. Some really mainstream designers that do. But it's it's really I have to tell you it's really hard especially if you're not crazy famous like a-list fame to find like people who want to so I work with a really good designer Melissa Mercedes who's been and Designing a lot of my address and she'll be designing address for me Golden Globes and I'm still looking for you know designers and now I feel like you know I just easy to work with up and commerce. Forget trying to be with my the Costello's you don't WanNa address you like let's deal with like the the names of the younger people all who want to get who are hungry. who were you up and try? These new designers and beyond say has done that. I can't even believe that they won't dress like any then. It's mind-blowing yeah. I know it's kind of like it's crazy models. And she says that on the runway they consider size six plus is now. That's crazy. Ah Are you saying on the runway. It's a no-win face. I say teams though it is that is so Razi. How does that work with your confidence? And your just like feeling good about your show affects it has has you really sometimes. If you reach out you'll see all these designers on instagram. They're so cool and you reach out. I'll have my stylist reach out and say hey let's tell them collab- with them they won't respond to you and then some will respond with very vagueness and or someone just flat out say no the Shan it is it does affect you because you feel like damn like I'm really working hard and getting all this acknowledgement and I don't even have addressed to wear to this event he has people don't address me his heartbreaking but but then you then you start to find your tribe and you find the people that work with you so when we took this chance with Melissa we did the dress for as and it ended up on the best restless invoke folk boom and yeah it was address we literally created me and my stylist creative from our minds and she would send me fabrics and at the fabric store Mr this color look this but let's make a sheer and literally constructed this dress from our minds and Melissa made it in all these best dressed lists from people to go okay and what did they list as who the designer was they they list her name Oh Dallas we'll tell them yes yes or they'll is crazy things a oughta find it so there are so many outlets that found and that we hadn't even told and that's cool for her to you're leaving platform absolutely absolutely done some other people before we collaborate just was kind of by Kismet so it's a couple of events together and you know we were just just like this this works and she's a plus size woman as well I mean especially she knows like how to style it and do it in the best way but it's still fashion because so many times they wanna put you in these big flowing dresses right hip and you got shape and you ask why do we gotta be in this frontline through lightness. Now it's like you know it's like no. I'm not doing this spaghetti straps but I might be in this and I wanted to have someone who understood fashion but still will new how to dress you act like if they had to buy extra material was go kill them all right. It's been really great and I and I hope that more people reach out to us now. WanNa the design of fashionable woman. Because we out here and we got these events and you know we want to have that representation as absolutely and it's so important. Well it's just so unfair these beauty standards that we have and I think it's getting better. It seems like it's getting better. You know we have Eliza we have all these people that are being body positive and rang. Look frigging size. Why do you have to be the small I deal with? That should all the time. I've always wanted to be he something. I'm not roddy hair. Whatever growing up because of what I was surrounded way what we're inundated exactly and it takes a while for you to get to that place and say you know what I'm good? I look good. I'm happy can improve here and there but yeah of course you're worth is contingent engine upon how big your ways exactly i. That's crazy to me. You are not your site. We are so much more than that. Yeah I'm just like I'm more than my waist again again. In the way that I'm treated in public or or by these people because my waist is bigger than someone else's is that's an insane. Yes absolutely and I and I think body positivity has come a long way. But they're still even the way lizzy was treated when she was working. And it's just like there's still a long way to go from you know where we are but there has been progress. But it's like we have to keep making sure that when we talk about inclusion. It's not just with you. Know Chinyere awesome with sizes uh-huh yeah absolutely I. I don't remember who specifically it was. But they made a comment saying you know the Laker girls are out there every night. Shake nobody what he says about anything. A lot of people who are known for working that nobody had a problem. You know what I mean extra meet in the in the low keeping the thing is and people are privately hitting you up like kind of like that trying to act like that's something that people want to say so thank you so much. So of course. Power Power Yeah. We can do it anytime guys. Thank you and remember. Remember guys always sit with us. Thanks for having me so I wanted to start with a story so is two thousand and thirteen. It was the grammy's and we were in the car driving leaving and I think it was for the insider. That's when I was when I remember so we were in the car driving a grammy's and we're pulling up to the carpet Nina. You're in the front. Yes and we were in the back that we're doing a ride alongs whole little piece of like getting ready for the grant writing so we pull up right as we pull. They announced in the car that won his first grammy. Yeah so social connected to you guys always shows me so much love whenever I advent. He's just like what's up. It's literally like family guys. Because that was such Amo- life changing that was that was you witness a dream come true. Yeah so so hard for that because before we just talked about you guys were talking about like not remembering him. Make the song that he won the grammy. Your and like driving around around in a car like I. It was like a Ford Explorer. Something like that. He had his trust. Yeah you were talking about it and we had just finished talking about that so to see like this full circle it was connected us. We don't always talk but we all follow each other. Never forget that I didn't even know that she was like the The win grammy season comes around every year. Facebook reminds me reminder photo took in the back of the truck you need we posted on our what a moment. That was incredible apart. Yes thank you for being part of a lot of cool moments already. How long have you been doing this now? Now I'M GONNA TV since two thousand seven. Okay I've been I've been I'm really blessed and I was in college. Went to San Francisco State. University University is that communication right cast. I was broke because they have communication majors with more for brides broad scope. I was with Caldbeck thus we're broadcasting communication words I'm electronic arts like academy so we fully focused on TV and radio production. Okay so did you always know you wanted to do this. I always knew like once. I got like a age to think about that so pretty much. Yeah Yeah like I'd like he's he's I would say as a kid. I did have a little cardboard TV. Look refrigerator get the really big boxes and I did. It's like I don't know if I knew I wanted to be on TV. I remember making them making a TV box and getting in like entertaining. Hey and I also have it set and I'd have them talk and I had like a little dream caning. Yeah always doing that. And I remember in sixth grade being like the reporter on the playground. Dare means to you. uh-huh doing it before you knew you wanted to do. I knew at the time is justly. You were being pushed director. I just picturing little Nina. I was like I wish someone had that food. We had this your mom. Oh you know we had it on. VHS that show we had it for years and then my parents moved out and will happen to Tan and it sounds like a classic moment. Yeah it was cool also now full circle you know because it's you're all over the place of course you know it does come to full circle you what do I enjoy. You know for sure so okay so then talk to us about the fact that like so you went to school for this. How did you the time pass? And you had a job then when you went to school where you went to school okay. I did a junior college for two years because I didn't have no money so I did that for two years. And then I transferred in San Francisco State for another three. Three man did like my major and worked in TV. And that's where I started my internship. So that's really where it started was in college. They were like you need an internship interning at NBC the the local NBC's channel which at the time was Kraan which was in San Francisco. And I did that. And then I got hired as a production assistant and started doing like peeing okay and then I moved moved to New York and I was like I'm going to be like the next. Vj The next MTV A and that did not happen was that towards the end of that whole Vj. Ajay was I didn't even grow. I didn't know anybody like I I just I didn't even touch a TV studio. So when I came back with my legs and then I moved back with my parents who were living in Sacramento. I live with them for a couple years. And I was working verizon wireless I completely lately just left the industry and was working as a call center person and got extremely miserable. Why you're living your purpose? And and so then. After four years I was like miserable. I was like getting headaches. I was really liked depress. It and my mom was just like you know you don't have to do this like you could just moved moved to La Right. I literally took vacation for two weeks from my job in my mom and I came to L. A.. And I found a lady to live with in Burbank. I was renting a room and I started started living with her to La with just like my car in my hand like a couple of thousand dollars on nothing else. The quintessential story I gotTA I. I got a job at TMZ within like a month. How did that happen? How did access where I I? I know what it's so funny because it's so old school this is like Oh oh seven before there was a show and I literally knew somebody who said they were hiring because they were expanding and they gave me the generic jobs that TMZ email. And and I just emailed them and we'll get a cover letter and resume and like I really just want to come in. And they brought me in and they were like all we have is like runner positions available like the very the bottom and I was like I'll take it and they were like all right. We'll give you a chance. That's the door that was kind of all she wrote. I had that position and then I started I got are promoted. Really quickly was promoted to producer within four months. One Hell of a fifteen hours a day like literally early life. Whatever you guys want me to do and then when I would be done with my shift I would sit with the a the editing producer and who would put up all the stories? The managing editor serve the website. And I would just write stories for her and I would just like so. I was fired to help. Contribute and find stories so they promoted me and then that fall they were starting the TV show and they asked me to pitch for the show. And I was like no I don't want to be on TV anymore. I kind of given up on that dream and and they were like no. We're not really asking you like you're GonNa Pitch we think you're really and I ended up pitching and that was it. Dan Incredible where within like six months. I made the decision I was living in Sacramento. I was miserable working to TMZ by April and by September I was on TV. Tableau Aloe for it. God's plan the mix of like God's plan also just just like having faith in all kind of started spiralling from there and just kind of you know every year you just walk into your purpose a little bit more so to story. Yeah do do you feel like it was like the moment like do you not believing in yourself like why are you not pursuing it. I definitely was like very. I felt very dejected. Checked it from New York like I moved out there and the my living situation. Was It really what I thought it was going to be my money to go out and look for places so I went out there like sight unseen theme. I don't recommend that started. Go for me do something to get out there and look at look at the place. New York likes to sell when it looks like when it doesn't look the bed. stuy before the gentrification honey so it was lying it wasn't cute yeah and I just was like not really you just kind of yeah last self-doubt worrying about everybody else competition. Maybe it's not GonNa Happen for me and then also I went on a ten interviews and wasn't landing anything. I really lost a lot of my self confidence. Yeah and I was just like I was really letting these knows like dictate my life and when I came home when I started doing this job that I hated and I finally had that moment where I was like. You know I'm just GONNA I'm not I I'M GONNA just keep getting I'm just gonNA keep going to like it. Yes like there was never a limit at this point once I decided to move to La. I decided that knows. We're no longer going to deter me. I was like this is my purpose is also doing these people. Just don't know yet exactly way bad and you know and they're they're going to see I just was I remember thinking to myself. I just have to find a place that gets me. Remember thinking that and so when I did get that interview with teams the I remember feeling like Oh this is kind of young. This is Kinda Fun. Like not the like the quintessential news network like I feel like they. They Mike kind of feel my vibe a little bit and I was just Kinda was on the websites like this is my work for me and and that's really what happens. I found my fate. You know I think we're you're always trying to fit into places and spaces that were not appreciated absolutely no and also like sometimes you're just doesn't create a jet like you ever like. Sometimes we get into into things and think like Oh this job that I want will be here in this description. The sit right in this chair and you know and it's not always that way. How you picture right? Ah I never would you know when I first graduated college. I wouldn't have done the things that I did after working for the place that I hate it because I was here again like I was like I'm I'm not taking out trash. I'm not getting coffee. You went to school in. PA AND OVER IT NBC. GonNa do this and then after working for years of hate and I was like. Yeah Yeah I just wanted to be in the bill and I realized how hard it is to get your foot in the door. You hear that tastes like little John. I'm just trying to people. Young people reach out now. And they're like I WANNA be host. That's great but you're not going to start that way most no won't want some. There are some people who might get blessed in get an opportunity to just instantly be host but most places. You GotTa do some other things before you get this opportunity to come to you know or at least especially if you have no experience and that was my thinking like fresh out of school. I have no experience but go on. MTV and it's like it doesn't work like it does at the end of the day you have to get yourself right right in order to excel and you know something really special about going from the bottom autumn and working your way to the top and seeing all those entry level jobs like being a PA and knowing what that takes like now you respect as and.

"But it is sort of like a pretty good snapshot needed to be held in a pool in the pool your boyfriend and held him. I don't know what's wrong with you. I one hundred percent have held bank like that in my pool. I've done it like i have because you want to see like oh. Can i hold you in the pool. There's the whole weight <music> off. You start carrying your boyfriend do like i am not judging dylan whatsoever because i am telling you. I've definitely held hank like pool. That's fair but but i liked it. The producers knew they showed for second and it is. It's just a snapshot of dylan hand. I know what you guys are saying. You guys are in relationships. You've held your but it's nobody hang. I said this he's going to hear about. It might be the first thing i said to him. When i leave so i hear rea- cares you around or pool. Everybody knows that dylan is head over heels for him. So that sort of the the narrative they're pushing forward so to see hannah. Just holding up dolly was really was it was really something yet another great move by a._b._c. and the producers disa- great job by them and then of course we had the date with demi and christian condemning the date card which listen grease in. She's all in. She's all in christian is saying he's ready to marry chrissy. I was like okay what's happening here. All of a senate demis like this is the girl i want to spend the rest of my life with forever and ever i was like oh my god report derrick derrick we'll get to that and also sort of it's sort of muddies the waters on like it was very open between christian and i when i so it's sorta strange yeah. I'm like oh my god. You're locked in. You're ready to get married. This is all happening so fast. There's some blurred lines but i will say despite all the blurred lines and people were really pissed because they're like oh. She's staying with her. This makes no sense. Oh i think care that's. That's what i'm saying like. I actually think it's a great thing that a._b._c. is is doing this because i mean this is who wants to be what she can and i think it's great that they're showing showing this relationship on national t ray for everyone to see so i think like networked helm right. It's great. It's very important yeah great step up in the right direction what you're doing but the whole like away. I don't know if i want to be with derek. I don't know if i want to be view you but now like i wanna marry you right now. I was a little thrown off by but i do want to see them. It'll it'll throw up big time and i agree with that and then also derek derek and christian demi. Having a sit down was yeah. I also like that. One was kinda get why they did it but it was it was tough for it was awkward. Gordon even demi tweeted herself like someone save me from this because you could tell christian and wasn't happy with derrick derrick fell you know he really likes demi but he also so it kind of feels bad at the same time. I feel bad for dark in the situation because he was so strong yeah he thought he had he had a shot here. <hes> because demi said i m seeing this girl but we're keeping our options open yeah. She shows up and it's over for henry is not even close. There's no options is being kept. Open because christian is like it's either you're with me or i'm out and dummies all in so i i feel bad for derek because it was so shy when let me explain it all to him and he was like so supportive and so enter corner so strong and then they separated started sopping. He just sees like i i just want. I just want somebody to love me. I'm sick of being told like a great guy and it not going anywhere and let me tell you that is a bachelor. <music> script ripped for becoming a bachelor. He's like i'm just why people just keep telling me. I'm a great guy. I can never find somebody i mean. This is going to be the next batch. Let's put in the audio of trent saying <hes> on monday. August twentieth.

"Speaking of moving on quickly miley cyrus and caitlin carter were apparently this is what page six yes eh eh they were seen basically having sex in the middle of west hollywood nightclub and now liam has just filed for divorce from riley. I mean liam. Liam is like enough yeah. I think liam's done. I don't even know what my lease. This is what i say to my boyfriend this tell my friends in the industry optics are important <music> so the truth doesn't always matter the optics matter right so it could be that they are just girlfriends like hanging out like getting drunk and just kinda like touching on each other and i'm sure that whoever's calling is exaggerating. Yeah we've seen pictures of them kissing practically having sex. I don't believe that you know they don't even let you do that so it's like you can't pull phones or house. They're like calm down so i don't even think it went that far but i do think that he's tired of being attached to mess so he's like if you're <unk> out here while in and you're doing all this. Let me just go ahead and he's always to me. It was surprising that her team was saying that he was the wild one because he hasn't come across. I said well he does. He hides it well but i'm not surprised that he filed because she's in the news every day caitlin yeah so if i was him i would to honestly because she just released the songs right away and it was about it. She was accusing him of having drugs. Alcohol proper are with whiskey and it was like whoa live in the hills knows you want the whiskey and pills if i was lamb and i were going through something miley just told the world yeah i would be a little pissed to probably if it is true or exactly. I'm having having these issues exactly. You're cool enough to release it. I don't know she talked about it but if i like i'm human i'm allowed to go through something so if i'm going through something and you write a song about audit which we data artists. We know that's essential but it's just kind of seems like dick mike. If if if i'm already down kick me when i'm down right right and i don't really believe the hot girl summer wild stuff like this clearly like something that she's going through so it's just like i don't maybe her relationship with caitlin will extend and yet it just seems so close to her break up from a ten year relationship that it feels like it will be fleet yeah yeah definitely and it's funny because you never know you get so many rumors from like that you can tell from viollis camp and some the come from it is mildly. You hear like miley doesn't want to file file for divorce. She really wanted the marriage to work. She hopes that they can maybe reconcile go by and like making caitlyn everywhere like i think that's probably not what she wants right yeah. I think she just loves doing whatever she wants. I don't think and i i feel like i've just heard that liam. Just doesn't want mileage <music> out with everybody wants to be doing who knows if that's true but i did use them for being a little matic miley they got yeah actually married only celebrities as ring so kaelin and brody weren't really marry but wha- the what they said.

"Everyone. We are here with very special guests in nina parker if you watch e. which i'm sure everybody everybody listening does watch e. You know who nina is nightly pop dating no filter welcome to the show. Thanks we're so we et love. We do yeah really our target audience. Yes i think you guys are are hilarious. Even my boyfriend watches uh-huh to not because i forced him well dating no filter season two coming on tuesday nine eleven p._m. Eastern time <hes> can you describe the show for the show is basically the premise is to kind of bring back like the dating shows that were popular in like the nineties right two thousands and everybody was like loving to kind of bring a new generation that may have missed that into it right but watch it with them so it's like two shows kind of it's like the dating show oh with these crazy people who go on dates and then it's us washing them right in talking about the date so it's like a next yeah exactly like those shows blind date yeah yeah yeah. I'm a date in that vein and then it's just us being like this is crazy. Ask what does this person doing. Why did this guy bring a puppet on the date like and then kind of giving what the audience would say right and just saying it for them while we all watched the date together so it's kind of like you know when they tweet about watches a family. This is kind of that thing totally unscripted guys car hilarious. We have seen some of it. Yeah we have and it's it's so good because these people do such weird thing. I think look dating is. It's like crazy. I this is the pinnacle of how crazy dating has been because we have such access to social media so what i like about the show is it's a really blind date like you. Don't know who you're going. Oh you can't find his ex girlfriend on on instagram and see what he's into you just have to kind of go with the flow so a lot of people aren't good with that and so we learn like how raw we take all that away and like how people act and how they interact with someone when the only thing that can be relying upon their own instincts. That's right her own personality. So it's kind of like a social experiment it is it is definitely a social experiment. What's the biggest. No no you've seen on on in one of these dates <hes> for me. It's it's like people being so too narcissistic like normally they'll ask you know the person within the first twenty minutes thirty minutes of meeting. What did you think when you first met me and it's like i just met you yeah over. We're still just first meeting so it's like what did you think give me. What do you think of me like this. The the very surface things are very quickly like peeled away early. You can kind of tell. I feel like that's the biggest mistake as they're so worried about what other person thinks of them and they had just their behavior to them instead of just being themselves yeah yeah. Has there been something i i don't know if you can even tell us. Maybe that has shocked you. The most i feel like in general they during the dates like the one the date don't just aired <hes> <hes> last night yeah like the guy. The girl was like oh. Do you know any jokes and he was like oh. I have a performance and you pull like a balloon out of his pants but they had been on the date for like hours worse yeah she's like what did this whatever i asked yeah if you had any jokes like that or the girl who brought a taser lie..

"But a lot happened in the regular world crashing. So let's get into it. I just looked at it. It was like long recap. I know. So I it was travis's birthday, which as we know with this family. They go hard for birthdays. But especially when the birthday is a member of Kylie jenner's immediate family nuclear family. I guess you could say so they had an avengers themed birthday party and her stormy travel and Kylie were all inventors outfits, they posed of course, in front of the cars and just looked so sick Kylie also had a billboard for him on. I think it was like Sunset Boulevard on said. Happy birthday daddy, loved kylian, stormy the whole thing was just just view on quite frankly, I and I wouldn't expect anything less. Neither would I.
