Who's Being Targeted With 'Black PR'? Mike Benz Explains

"Back to what's happening internally and the story that you broke on Tuesday. But explain these two concepts black PR or crisis PR and who's being targeted with regards to that mic. So the idea is a democracy is a struggle for hearts and minds of the public who in turn picks their government representatives. And so that is essentially a struggle between, you know, what's sort of known in the PR space is sort of white PR, which is positive press about someone or black VR, which is sort of negative press or leaving a mark. Or inducing a crisis. Crisis management crisis PR. These are terms for destabilizing a political figure or a region in order to open up opportunities in order to replace that person politically. And so for example, in the integrity initiative, there was a Spanish vox party of general official Pedro bannis was his name. And the UK intercluster cell of which Nina jankovic was the part, as was Anne applebaum from the Atlantic, as was Ben nimmo from the Atlanta council and from now, by the way, head of threat intelligence at Facebook. Top sensor at Facebook was a part of this as well with Nina jankovic. They bragged in their own internal reports how they organized a crisis PR set of hashtags and rumors online coordinated through their stakeholder group in order to create nightmare press for Pedro banos. And then take that press and run it straight to the prime minister of Spain in order to convince the prime minister of Spain that it would be hugely unpopular to have Pedro banos in this national security position because of all the bad PR that

"I mean, all sorts of things could go wrong, and I really like sanga and that seems like a smart signing relative to some of the other deals we've seen for starting pitchers on this market, like I'm a pretty big believer in him, just given his results in NPP and given his stuff. I mean, it's not quite ohtani, but it's Otani esque in the sense that he has a fastball that he throws very hard that is maybe more hittable than you would think just based on the velocity, but then he has a wipeout splitter and he has a whole range of other offerings, so not saying he's an ace like Otani necessarily in MLB, but I don't see why he can't be an effective mid rotation starter and that's all they're asking him to be here. So even though they're spending so much relative to other teams, they're not better than other teams are not that much better than the other good teams that are spending less and things could easily fall apart for them. So if we were to get to a point where they were just invulnerable and completely dominant and you felt like the season was over before it started, then that would be a bummer, but I just don't know that we can get there in baseball. We got an email from Emmett's fan, Patreon supporter named Russell gulps team and this is interesting given what we've been talking about. He said, I'm having a bit of a fandom existential crisis, and I need you to be my therapist for a minute for background. I'm a lifelong mets fan who has suffered through the wilpon years coming close to a championship a couple of times, but always ending up in disappointment, always being the younger sibling to the Yankees and growing up always being frustrated seeing them buying every player to win, the day Steve Cohen took over the mets. I was over the moon excited, knowing we would finally have a payroll that would be competitive. However, during this off season spending spree, surprisingly, it is kind of made me question what I'm actually rooting for or why we root at all at what point does a team become just hired guns only here to end this championship drought and I actually not actually rooting for the mets to win games, but by the transitive property I'm just rooting for Steve Cohen to spend more money. If the mets win the World Series, aren't I just celebrating the spending of $350 million? I know that the issue here is that the system is broken, the pirates are a's could spend 400 million on players, but they don't, or some number of millions, more than they do. But do I need to just accept that Cohen isn't doing anything wrong and remember that baseball is just a wonderful, amazing distraction from this horrible rotten slog to rigor mortis, help. So he's feeling like it's just a mercenaries. I mean, even if it's someone like nimmo, whom you're bringing back, I guess if you feel like that it does come down to how much you spend or hey, our owner is richer than your owner and that's why we won. That probably wouldn't be super satisfying. I just, I don't know that it's at that point where the dollars dictate the results to such an extent that you have to feel that one to one relationship like there's still a lot of uncertainty. I mean, if you did give the raise 354 $100 million and they continued to operate the way that they have, then I wonder what they could do with all that money. But the mets weren't the raise before they started spending all of this money. And so I don't know if you're a mets fan, you're probably a little bit drunk on just the riches here that your franchise hasn't had at its disposal or hasn't used previously. And maybe you also feel like, oh, are we the baddies now? Are we Yankees? Are we the team that's just buying championships? I don't know that it's like feasible to buy championships in the milk beef. Like you can't do it. Yeah, I think that that's right. And I also, again, I think, you know, I can't make you feel a different way about it if you feel a particular way about it. But first of all, I think it's probably worth noting that a not small chunk of the millions that got spent this off season were spent in service of retaining a player who was homegrown, right? So some of this is, hey, we want to stay in the Brandon nimmo business, or in I give Brandon nimmo a bunch of money because we like Brandon nimmo, right? So like some of it is in service of retaining your own guys, not all of it, obviously. But yeah, I think when you get down to it, like think about teams, there are teams where they draft or sign the guys who end up being their stars. And those dudes are in the organization from day one. They never move around. But one I think that, you know, being overly fixated on the mode of player acquisition is sort of a fruitless endeavor because like teams acquire and move players around all the time and a lot of different ways. And there's nothing novel about signing free agents. It's just novel in terms of the dollar amount that's being attributed to them here. So there's that piece of it. There are plenty of guys who end up being really important players on contending teams who they might spend their entire big league career with your club, but they moved around before that. They came over and different moves in different trades. Mostly I think that when you walk into the ballpark and you look down on the field and you see a free agent, maybe the way to feel about it is that guy really wanted to be a met, right? And part of what made him want to be a met was a big check, but like that guy made a proactive decision to come here and be a med. Or if your Francisco Lindor to stay a man, right? So they want to be there with you. They want to be there with you on a special what could be a special run at a championship. And you know, I think it's fine to look at the guys who you've been paying attention to and thinking about and dreaming on since they were prospects and feel something special about them. I feel a particular special kind of way about Julio Rodriguez because he's just been a Mariner from day one, right? And I feel a special particular kind of way about Edgar Martinez because he spent his entire big league career with Seattle. But I have gotten a ton of enjoyment out of guys who were only there for a couple of years and they made a choice to be Mariners and that was exciting too, right? Like that's affirming to your sense of fandom. So I don't know if that's persuasive, I don't know if that kind of moves the needle, but you know, to recap, I think that we tend to forget or minimize all of the different ways that players move around how it sort of normal that is now, right? That guys do move around a lot in the course of their careers much more than they used to. And also, like, they made a decision to come hang out with you in Queens. That's great. Like be excited about that. That's so fun. Sure, the check mattered, but, you know, I think sanga got offers, right? Brandon demo God offers some Verlander God offers. And these offers were bigger, but he made a decision to take this one. That's exciting. You can feel excited about that. That's pretty great. Okay, so maybe we can transition to the a's via the three team trade with the braves, the mets division rival because as I said, Dan gave me the updated standings and the braves still on top with a projected 96 wins to the mitts 93 as things stand the Phillies at 89 and then the Marlins and the nets have slipped down even further.

"Tracking Scott Boris's puns and wordplay and witticisms if you can call them that for years now and we actually had him on the show to talk about it and kind of grill him about his process. And this was the week where he held court at the GM meetings and just really reached a higher gear, I think, potentially. I mean, he outdid himself here, and I'm just curious as someone who covers baseball news for The New York Times and faces the decision of do I want to quote Scott Boris puns in the paper of records, which you did decide to do. You could notice that, oh man. Yes. So I checked. And you did note I will quote here from The New York Times. Where this is enshrined forever. Boris also the agent for Brandon nimmo and Taiwan walker had colorful ways of describing the demand for both players for nimmo, Boris used movie illusions, including a questionable pun. I appreciate that you questioned the pun. There are a lot of teams in the free agent market that are in the waters for a center Fielder whoever Pixar guy grown will be the lucky one to be finding nimmo grown again. And then for walker, Boris turned to a geographical play on words, he's one of the few players that's under 30 and he's had multiple 150 innings pitch season, so essentially Taiwan is on an island and I think the only question is who is willing Taipei? I thought the second one was a little better. The first one, the first one I missed the Pixar reference. I had to go back and listen to it. In real time, I didn't really hear that one. I just heard that I could tell when he said waters that he was going to start setting up a Finding Nemo. Reference. I did not pick up on the Pixar. I sat down and listened to the audio again. But I mean, I was like, you know, everyone obviously is like laughing. You roll your eyes because you know he's just like gearing up to unload one of these again. And you know, he tries to pass it off as if he's like coming up with it in the spot. But you know, he has like a sheet of paper in front of them. Like I didn't really see the paper, but you know he kind of like stops and funny you ask and then he quickly glances at a sheet of paper and he's like, oh God, here we go. And so you tell he was doing that in this case. I think at one point, after he was rolling through these, he does these to be clear, I think he probably said this. He does get the winner meetings too. So he's got twice a year where he kind of preps for these. As he was rolling through these in Las Vegas and just going one after another and at one point you could tell he was just trying to squeeze them in because he maybe hadn't been asked about ex player or whatever a certain player or why player like he was just going to oh, I got these, I got to throw them in. Yeah, right. Did someone ask me about it? Did someone say tax did? Well, funny you ask. So I finally one point was like, Scott, how do you keep a straight face while you do this? I just interrupted him. And he was like, what are you talking about? This is a very serious moment. Of course. Being sarcastic once again, he just rolled into the other ones that he had. But yeah, I mean, I think that was the first time I'd ever used his puns. I think it was just funny because the mets either so many free agents, the story that they were in was about the Met's off season just a broad look at their off season and how Jacob degrom is kind of their priority, but they have had so many free agents that included Brandon nimmo and Taiwan walker. It was an easy place low in the story to just quickly address those two guys. And so I just thought it was fun to just use them. Use them in that moment. But I think that might have been the first time in 11 years that I'd use one of the puns. So I think my track record is okay. I think it's the first time. Off the top of my head, it's the first time I think. Yeah, at your editor, was it like, do we need this? Or the standards desk? Are we actually not just at the paper? Because the motto is all the news that's fit to print. So you've decided that, in fact, this Pixar brand memo finding is fit to print and that it is preserved for posterity now in the paper of record. Not much pushback from my editor, and as you can see, it's published. So yeah. It worked out okay. Maybe because I am so conservative when it comes to these other times. I think maybe in this case, we thought it was okay. Right. He should hand out that little notepad that he has where he keeps track of this. It should be like a band that gives out the set list after the concert, someone takes it home and puts a picture on Twitter, someone should get the Boris set list for the puns, but you have a history. I was on my professor my ignorance, but I guess I missed his podcast appearance for you guys.

"Went in there with a catching tandem that was good defensively. Really not great offensively. Did not have the righty DH, did not poke up their bullpen like they needed to do. I understand Scherzer is great. I understand the grum is great, but you need more than one great relief. I mean, Aveeno and Lugo are pretty good, but you needed more than out of being a Lugo. And they just didn't do it. That is true. They didn't do it. And you know, there were other pictures that were left off that roster. Taiwan walker wasn't there. Taiwan walker, who I've been very loudly trying to say to as many people who will listen that he's been kind of an unsung hero of this met staff for not just this season, two seasons in a row, especially the debacle that was the 2021 season. So the mets are in a very unique spot here because they're hitting to an off season where, as of right now, as of now, I should really say, they're losing to Grom. They're losing nimmo. They're losing Diaz or losing basset aravind that you just mentioned. Lugo that you just mentioned. So the question is, I think out of vino and Lugo or as good as gone personally, but that's not because of any other reason. I just think they can upgrade those spots. There's no way to Grom is going to be pitching for anyone but the mets, right? No, I wouldn't say that's a definite, you know, he's very upset about that contract. He is going to opt out technically not a free agent yet. He will not, he will opt out, understandably. I mean, he's worth more than what's left on that contract. It's about 30 million guaranteed for one year left, plus a team option. Plus there are all these deferrals, so I get it. He's worth more, even at 60 innings. He's worth more than a one year deal, and he's going to get certainly at least a multiyear deal, he's a two year deal, some people get it. Then go get a three. I did a poll for the New York Post. Someone thought he'd get 5. I don't know, I think that's a guy who probably has a ground bobblehead in his bathroom or something. I don't know, but he's going to get a good contract much better than he's got. I would let him go through 64 innings this year, 4.3% of the season 4.3% of the innings that they needed. I mean, is it really worth spending 40 million plus on a baby? I think Texas might do it. I'm not sure else. You know, to me, they got too many other issues. This idea that this one, two punch is so great. I mean, if the starting pitching was as valuable as they say, the braves would have won more than one World Series, the Phillies, when they had holiday and Lee and all those guys, they didn't win. They won when they had before when they had Hamilton with their starters. I think the idea that this one two punch is, you know, gives you such an advantage. I think it's overrated, you know? I think when you get to the postseason, to me, I'd rather spend the money on the bullpen. They think the bullpen is, you know, I'm reliable. I don't know. They're going to have to bring Diaz back. I would try to bring nimmo back that's not going to be easy. You make a lot of work to do. They're going to have to spend a lot of money. They don't have the prospects that other teams may have. They do a baby potentially for third base and average for catcher, if not next year than a year from now, but they're going to have to spend a lot of money. Fortunately for them, they do have Steve Conan's their owners, so they do have a lot of money. They do. And it's funny. Nimmo is actually D as I completely agree. They got to bring him back. But nimmo is such a unique one to me. I just feel like nimmo nimmo is a good ball player. I played with nimmo. He's a great guy. But I feel like someone in Major League Baseball is going to overpay for nimmo and nimmo will never do what he just did this year last two years ever again. And I know it's going to be the White Sox. Why? Because this just has White Sox written all over it. It could be, I mean, you know, they're a little short on the left, lefty hitting department. He would fit there. He'd fit a number of teams. He has been great the last at least the last couple of years. You know, we saw what ellsbury similar skill set get, what did he get over a $150 million? 9 years ago, right? It's going to be a large contract, probably a lot larger than any of us figured to start the year. Yeah. I'm not sure if he made his quite as much money as Aaron judge with the year that he had, but he made a lot of money and, you know, I mean, obviously the mets could move Marte center and live with that and maybe bring in a power hitter for right field. I don't know that it's going to be Aaron judge. I think the mets like everybody else thinks the likelihood is judge goes back to the Yankees, but I mean nimmo was wearing that uniform an hour later taking pictures. I don't know, am I reading too much into it, thinking, well, maybe he thinks this is his last day with the mets, or maybe he just likes photography. I don't know. You know, he's a free agent. So I think there's a decent chance that he goes. You know what I mean? He's not Aaron judge. Who's got, you know, got the judges chambers and, you know, we've got so many reasons to stay with his team, nimmo could easily leave and there are a lot of teams that are going to like him. Yeah.

"Outlines the actions it's taken against fake accounts and hackers who tried to create the appearance of support for Russia's war on Ukraine. Ben nimmo, global threat intelligence strategy lead at meta joins us now for more on this. So talk to us about this particular operation just how widespread and effective was it? Well, in terms of being widespread, it was really trying to hit everywhere across the Internet pretty much all at the same time. What we had was a troll farm, so an organization run from St. Petersburg in Russia. That was hiring people off the street to run fake accounts, kind of everywhere on the Internet they could think of. Those reports are fake accounts on YouTube telegram, TikTok, Twitter, we found them on Instagram. And what they were trying to do was make it look like there was large scale support for the Russian invasion of Ukraine. So that's the widespread effect. But in terms of fact, all we saw was that they weren't very good at what they did. A lot of their fake accounts kept on getting caught by the automated systems before we even investigated them and took them down. Real people kept on calling them out as trolls. And there were even cases when they would try to steer people towards celebrities or influencers on social media. And then they picked the wrong account. So for example, at one point they tried to steer people towards the UK foreign secretary Liz truss and instead of finding the foreign secretary's page on Facebook, they found something that hadn't been used since 2018. So they were trying to spread themselves wide. But nothing we saw showed that they were actually having much of an impact this time. So it sounds like this particular operation wasn't very sophisticated. How unique was this operation? Is this something that you've seen before? We've seen attempts like this before in lots of different parts of the world. So we've taken down troll farms in the past, for example, in Nicaragua in Albania. We've taken out other activity by Russian trolls as well. But there was an interesting twist to this case. And it's that the operation was really working in two halves. It was running a public channel on telegram, which was trying to, if you like, crowdsource comments, which were supporting Russia. And when it didn't get real crowdsourced comments, it would use the fake accounts to go in instead and it's the same operation running all these things. And then what the people behind the operation would do would be they do the interviews on Russian state TV and supportive media and say, look what a great job we're doing. So it's like there were multiple layers of deception nestled inside one another, almost like a Russian doll, but ultimately they were trying to make it look like they were effective, but they were using fakes to do it. And then the face got caught. In general, how effective has Russian have Russian disinformation campaigns actually been over the course of the last several months of this war on Ukraine? We've taken down, I think, about half a dozen different Russian operations that have been targeting Ukraine recently. So since the war began. In general, what we've seen is that they've been struggling to get any kind of real engagement. But we've also seen that they keep on trying and this is the time to keep our foot on the gas. What we really need to do is take these operations as a lesson. We need to learn from them. And we need to keep looking because we know the threat actors like this are not going to go away. We need to take them seriously. And each time we find something like this, we need to explain to people, here's what it was. Here's how it worked. Here's the kind of content that they were pushing. Here's the way they were operating. Because this time around, they weren't very good at what they did. But we need to prepare for the next time. And that's what I've said investigators. We always have to be ready for. Are you speaking directly with other big tech companies, Apple, Google, TikTok, Twitter, about coordinating efforts on this front? Whenever we do a threat report like this, we share with industry partners we share with researchers, we should share with share with the public, right? We report these things. And that's because we found that influence operations, they're a bit like mold growing in your house. They grow best in dark places. And so when you find them, there's two things you really need to do, you need to clean them up, but they only need to shine a light on them or you need to move them into a bright place. And we've always found that the more we can share information about these operations, the more we can make people aware of how they behave, it's harder for them to come back. What keeps you up at night, I mean, we're heading into the U.S. midterms here in the United States. Have you seen activity rising on that front? I'm a spread investigator. So investigations keep me up at night. It's what we all do on the team. In terms of the midterms, sorry. We haven't seen any uptick in activity so far. For example, this Russian operation that we've taken down was really focused on the war in Ukraine and it was all about pushing the Russian point of view. But again, operations like this are a lesson. And one of the big things from the Russian operation was that what they were trying to do was use a fake operation to make a more public operation will look like it was working. And this is something we call perception hacking. It's trying to fool people that there's something been going on if you like. It's like dropping an ice cube into the water and saying, look, there's an iceberg underneath. And that's the kind of tactic which could be very easily transferred to other areas. So we have to take threat anchors like this seriously, just because they were hand fisted this time around, doesn't mean that they will be the next time. And so what we're looking at for as investigators and the thing that's keeping us up at night is making sure we keep ahead of whatever trends are out there. Meantime, we've been following this story about TikTok and the Chinese government or an entity supported by the Chinese government trying to set up a stealth account on TikTok to target western audiences with propaganda. Is this something that concerns you? If you look at our threat reporting over the last few years, we've taken down operations from around the world. We have seen operations from China, Iran, India, I think it's more than 50 different countries that we've seen operations coming in from more than two dozen different languages. And it seems like the idea is out there that influence operations are a thing. There's something that many different countries can run. And our job is threat investigators is to go and find them. And particularly to shine a light on them and to share information about them as widely as we can because the more different ways we can get on this. The more we can try and catch them. With the Russian troll farm, it was really interesting. The way it was exposed was the troll farm was trying to hire people off the street and telling them, hey, can I work for us? One of the first people they hired, turned out to be an undercover journalist who exposed the whole operation. Fascinating. "UFOs, not unidentified and financially overlooked, but ultimate financial opportunity. He always says it best, you know, that was on the tip of my tongue if I'd had a few more minutes. I probably would have come up with UFO also. But that's why Boris is the best. All right, let me read a couple emails in response to something we talked about on our previous two podcasts. One was about players who should get the nickname three and two, the modern equivalent of three and two Jack graney. We talked about some listener submissions last time, but we got one more after that episode from a listener who I believe prefers to remain anonymous, but wrote, I was surprised no one wrote in suggesting Brandon nimmo on met's radio broadcast, how he rose and Wayne randazzo regularly referred to three two counts when nimmo is at the plate as a nimmo, Brandon is so proud of his ability to draw walks that he sprints to first base when he draws ball four, nimmo is a better than average player, but as working the count is such a big part of his approach as a hitter, I thought it might fit. And yeah, I think it does. Nimo is a good one. He's got some pop, but then who doesn't these days? So adjusted for the era, he's a decent choice. And two more responses to the conundrum of how and whether to raise a child as a fan of a particular team, Luke wrote in to say, hearing the discussion the past couple of episodes about how kids pick their favorite teams, I thought I'd share how my oldest picked his teams, I'm a cubs fan in South Georgia and hoped my son Andrew would follow in my path when he was first discovering sports when he was about 5, he would watch games and highlights with me, he naturally was drawn to Mike Trout as there always seemed to be a trout highlight in 2012 and 2013. But he also gravitated to the pirates at that time. It took me a few days to figure out why, but he liked them because they had Andrew mccutcheon. He said he liked them because he and mccutcheon both had the same name. He became a Bengals fan in the NFL for the same reason. He liked Andy Dalton. Ten years later, that's finally paying off for him. So basically, my kid isn't the cubs fan because I didn't think to name him after the best cubs player at that time. I'm sure now he's okay not being named after Alfonso soriano. And one more message in that vein from Brian, who says I wanted to mention a New York City dynamic about raising kids of different fandoms in the city, New York City is a city of immigrants and that includes baseball fans who bring their love of different teams to the city. My wife and I are Red Sox fans raising two boys to be sax fans in Brooklyn, we encounter fans of all kinds of different teams to the point that my son's little league team didn't even have a majority of the kids rooting for New York teams. It's hard to generate animosity for a different fan base in this environment. I can't say this would be the same in another locale. A big key is extra innings and streaming games. It is much easier for families to sit down with their kids and watch their favorite team, which because it is on the screen is who the kids will fall in love with. We had a rule where our kids first MLB game in person had to be at Fenway. We would go see the Lowell spinners RIP play the cyclones, but work to avoid the fate of some Sox fan friends who took their kids to seize the socks at Yankee Stadium, where a rod did something great and he decided his favorite team was the Red Sox and his favorite player was a rod, probably because of the reaction of so many people in one place. You don't know what.

"That on twitter you can. Can you win when you fight with the people in your zoom conference. Yeah right. I'll tell you what though if you show me an athlete that deals with the social media with no issues and has that thick skin. I'll show you gotta get player right because you can handle that you can handle it. It's social media's woo blows out new york and isn't even close. how bad that is. New york is not really by the way. It's not that difficult. it is very simple. Go onto your job if you don't do job. Take accountability fans are going to respect you at the very least i was thinking of another guy. Remember i referenced dogma of jason bay who like the biggest bust ever. I never hated jason bay. I always felt bad for the guy because he warned you can see was frustrated. He was accountable. That that's the right mentality. No he didn't get it done as performance was horrible. I understand why fans said he understands why fans are upset. We referenced jeter and giancarlo the guys who have been booed beltran. Whatever piazza right. So you have to on. It's going to happen but you just have to take accountability. It's not. I think the idea of all new york and the media pressure and the fans. It's too much. I don't want to deal with that. It's not really that difficult. When it comes down to the social media thing that to me is a problem. Who was bobby near the ear plugs. In i believe it was not going to wipe the smile off my. He's from new york. He didn't get he was more competitive than anything else. Realize you. you stink right now. Bobby boat and that's why fans want to love you. The lao do they boo the more. They wanna love you the higher expectation they have of you if the not they don't care nobody booze. Tomas lido grounds double by because you expect it from tomas nita. Different us your weird questionnaires. We go to break a guy like nimmo if brandon nimmo is going through a horrendous slump does he get booed and mike and the reason i asked is. I always felt like you boo for yeah performance but more effort and what. It looks like and brandon. Nimmo's one that we know goes one hundred eighty miles an hour. Hard boo but right. I would wonder if he was going through. A major slump in wasn't sat down if the mets fan would get after him. Because i don't know it's it's it's again can an seen it blowing takes a lot. I think you have to have a lot of factors come together. One is the expectation to maybe the money and then three. The money's a big deal. That's what i mean. So it's not like nemo nemo were making three hundred million bucks. Nobody's going to care these one of the first base on a walk. There's booze pants off if he's not getting the job done money's a big factor and then the way that they handle the adversity so there are multiple things that go into its old guy like nimmo's not making that big contract is not really going to be a candidate to expectations in cash. Yes right all right. We'll take a break just getting started. Twenty after six here on the fan and cbs sports network. We will get Chris lopresti in and then we will get to the yankees coming up later in the hour as well though he will give us. All the sounds from that. It is sal and jerry in for boomer ngo eats the morning show with boomer esiason and gregg giannotti boomer and geo all right six seven deckervill from built ford. Tough studio Chris good morning area. I'm great how you guys doing. We're good ready. Your time awesome powered by superbeets. Talk super now open with better. Odds and favorable prices also sponsored by town fair tire. Nobody beats town fair tire. Know what the heck was that. There's all kinds of weird noises happening. Okay quite a day for the mets that of course began with the mea culpas from francisco. Doorknob vyas before game. One of their double dip with the marlins. Here's londor yesterday falling on the soyuz wrong. I apologize to whoever alphand non might into offend. People can't go against the fans says who of course put all this out there. Sunday inciting the masses. My bad something about i was born defense and in i really made like to like booming now night and not to defense to out there we go. So there's the clair's fine but they will face the music. You got your apologies and now we move on. I mean we'll bring you some snippets of it throughout the course of the morning didn't look so early on in game one either. They are down five one into the ninth until a brandon. Nimmo two run homer sparked a rally and eventually conforto slash with one of the other way that ties. the game. alonso. Win by is thinking for third. It's kicked bio there to score his tour. Those dhabi buyers racist home with a winning mets when it six to gary cohen. Another level the final call. Yes and if you saw the video of him in the booth he was up on his feet. Eve is very emphatic. As you might imagine listening to that call so good for him. Good for the mets Quite the call quite the finish there to gain one itself quite the celebration between home plate and the mets dugout point where baya's loses his earing somewhere on the field. We had a search party out there. Well after the game ended the ground crews trying to clean up the field and their sandy alderson. You know kicking through the grass that he's crouch down combing through with his hands and then they're even looking at the grass clippings in the bag from the more at one point during was worth But i know it was a diamond. So we're suming wa. They found the back to it. But the actual bias comes out for game two last night and they've got the s. and onfield cameramen out. There just had to so now it's just a artifacts somewhere on the city field grass. I guess we're in the dirt. They go on the road. And and one of the groundskeepers finds the diamond horrible. Getting iran. show you you boot right. No you can't do that. You got fired for that. Obviously would know. There's gotta be cameras all around there. That's true i'm cheri. Come on man of ethics. you can't go out there and just asking the question business ethics. Can you gotta go out there. And what do you think there's zooming in on this. I mean this. They're the grounds crew. It's their job to touch the ground. You find that you're gonna put in your pocket and walk oiling. Caught on camera pebble. Your home planet protect. The players in case home again found a snowflakes anyway. The nightcap as well three to one behind a michael. Conforto two run homer in the fourth trevor williams gave you a four and a third of shutout ball. Aaron loup the Credited with the wind and edwin d as the save is twenty-seventh so a sweep for the mets. Three straight wins. They're back within five and a half the first place braves who have dropped three out of four. They were beaten by the dodgers last night. Three to two. Here's nemo this turned out to be pretty good day with all the negative Stuff going on around definitely rolled over and just Everybody pretty much. In the calendar we could have rolled over and died. Could have here was row haas from after game one. We had a sleepy star. But these guys just don't give up play really good baseball. Starting of this game and our approach wasn't good And then to see guys finish like that you you you see how this group is. They have resilient is the word he likes. I like real haas. I'm tired of hearing it. I i really am just. It's the same stuff game. it's the same stuff..

"The maserati was purchased for six thousand dollars in complete form but was dirty. And this is the seventies right and so the guy got out some rubbing compound and some Car nuba wax and A little armor all which probably didn't exist back then and then he sold that thing for sixteen grand. He's like sweet slammed but that out may ten grand bats right eleven grand but now he probably wishes he just kept it in its original form. What i'm saying. Yeah so where do you come down on giving the old prices you know. It's a good story. But if you're like i think this story is more attractive to everybody. Who's not betting on the car. Which is most people right and it is interesting to to see it like we talked to. We talked to peter brock at one point. I think chris. And i were at the bronx house for one of his sima parties and he talked about how shelby was saying. Hey the races are over. We got these cars you know. We brought them back from lamar. Whatever racing manufacturer's championships got to sell them and he was like eight grand and people like nah and he's like oh i'll knock it down to five grand ones. You're out of your mind. Nobody wanted oven how there were millions so p progress still standing there going. We never capitalized on this. We'd never knew these cars were going to go so in that respect. Yeah they didn't know. At the time the six thousand maserati would end up being worth a ton of money. Yeah do you think they put it because they're just showing you look how much it's inflated since. Then that's what i was saying like. Why would it stop you. Know in in nineteen in the nineteen seventies. it was six grand. Now it's four million bucks. You got young kids. Yeah where's it gonna be in two thousand and forty four. That's right and another twenty years from now or twenty five years from now. Is that story going to progress. Is going to be like six grand. Four million seven and a half million. It's like it's kind of interesting. I don't i don't mind it i don't mind now. I enjoyed i just. I've seen it a little bit more days. And i'm a little and i think he used to be foreboding. I think the point of them doing that is. It's a way of herbert verboten right. It's a way for them to say. This is a pretty well. Documented car Right because we know this information and documentation is it creates so much value for these types of car so if somebody you know even nowadays when you go hey you know bob sharp or whatever we wanna buy car from you. Can we get a letter from you saying that. You're selling it to us and whatever you know there's that other little piece of authenticity that you want other than just say a bill of sale Right agreed aright so Nissan's going to announce a nimmo version of z. We've saw the newsy the prototype And the z. Con event is coming up right after monterey car week in colorado. It's going to be a great event out there. And i believe they have scheduled the first production car You know just. This is exactly the way it's going to be but the rumor now is they could have very sooner rather than later a nimmo version like they did the gtri and the three seventy eight But they also may be doing a track only. gt four version. I believe so it could be interesting. They want to get into racing. A hotter version of the nissan z could be available almost immediately if not a year after the regular version Corvette corvette c eight hit the market and corvette zero. Six is is coming out pretty soon. I think as a twenty twenty three model So why wouldn't Nissan try to have something kind of special zero six going to have going for it zero six. You're actually going to like because Chris you can find that little sound clip. A zero sex is going to be naturally aspirated. Five point five liter dual overhead cam. Flat plain crank. V8 in sounds sick. It just sounds fantastic. The red line is on. It's gotta be it's gotta be well into the eight it's gotta be eighty six. Maybe i just think four did it with the with the. Gt three fifty the modern day version that the and the armadale now they have some some vibration issues and stuff with that. And if gm's getting it worked out you can hear some of the clips. He got a. Here's bounties are and now we're talking now it sound.

"So sal is getting into the whole fan on the field thing which was the security guard. Awesome picture is great then. He was discussing the stupidity of how fans have been especially since the pandemic has subsided. A little bit and some of the guy threw the ball overdue go. Yeah and he's like you know what the ban now was telling me how difficult will be the bam. You can't keep them out. You know all the time but you do your best you can. You can't buy. Tv's great punish him as much as you can. And then like this law guy calls up. You know talking about how you know. You're asking for capital punishment. Sal didn't lose it but he was close he was very. I was kinda waiting for the explosion. Yeah quite get it. There was another guy who's going after him. Today he was very tempered. He was trying to not blow up. And i'm like that's not what we want. No blood you lose your mind destroy. These people will be emotionally unstable. That's looking for for our pleasure and our entertainment. That's right all right in. Cincinnati mets had their chances tying run aboard lead off the ninth against amir garrett could not get them across to strikes garrett typically ill pitch swing and a pop up left side overdue. His lights suarez and foul territory makes the catch cincinnati reds. Take two of this series. Doesn't work as well stay tuned for the post game concert by the andrews. Sisters wayne randazzo. Cbs eight eighty four. Pitch walk to dom smith and then garrett goes one. Oj brandon nimmo before striking him out as well as pita lonzo. The macneil pop up the mets lose four two three. Oh for seven with runners in scoring position on the night and they miss out on a chance to steal another win on a night where robert stock gave them one inning at the start injured his hamstring running out a grounder and the top of the second bullpen..

"The messenger went to work in the very first frame, putting the first two runners on including Brandon Nimmo, who came off the injured lists and was productive today. But Jordan got Montgomery got the next Three. Dom Smith, Peter Alonso and James McCann. Two strikeouts in a pop out to get out of that threat. Walker meantime, 123 in the first with a strikeout of Gary Sanchez, both starters. As a matter of fact, got work done early third inning, the Mets had 2nd and 3rd 1 out. Montgomery would strike out Peter Alonso next up, James McCann. And 12 is in there. Strike three. He got him. McCann took the off. Speed mentioned he goes down looking at it, Nasser early going. The Mets were not exactly taking advantage of opportunities. Lonzo McCann each stranding four runners in their first two plate appearances, Montgomery they'll again. In a jam in the fifth inning. Two on this time for Dom Smith swinging. There's the base in his center field that rolls to center. Here comes the run. Nimmo rounding. He is in to score indoor down to third in the Mets are on top. Wonder. Nothing on the Smith base up some Mets breakthrough. Thanks to Smith. They loaded the bases in that frame. Montgomery was done. Lucas Licky came in. Facing McCann. We mentioned his first two at bats, but he came through this time swang broken bat pop up into center that's going to drop down for a base hit. One run is inland or will score. Folk comes back to the infield cut off by Luke Boyd and another run is in and it sounded like McCann broke the bat. But he's got himself in R B I, and that would double the Mets Lee. They added a run on a wild pitch by Lik E and a three run frame in the fifth bottom half, Jose Peraza is throwing Eragon Glaber Torrez on to lead off the frame. But Walker navigated that inning without yielding a hit, had a no hitter through 5/6 inning,.

"Last bit of merch last. Bit emerge so new meals. They aren't announcing if there are any new characters coming out but they do have some new outfits. which is i. Guess the fun part so they have cruella outfits and they also have like an outdoor camping series of outfits. Cute that's about. It knows always waits to release their news. Right after we record these shows so something big tomorrow but if you think about it they never actually came out with new nemo's for may i think they're having some stocking issues so it took a lot. Now you can find who and tigger an ear and piglet pretty much everywhere you go but for a while you couldn't find them really anywhere and it took a long time for them to get kermit and miss piggy back in stock as well so back in stock i believe they are at most locations but i think that may be is why. They're maybe taking a little break. It's a good problem to have. I'd like to see some marvel. Nimmo's that's what i'm asking for. Who who would you. If they announced it tomorrow effort vendors campus. They're bringing him out. Who would you want to buy. would.
