"Get your reaction to this back and forth. JJ Redick, who I always enjoyed watching JJ Redick at duke, great player, called out Kendrick Perkins for suggesting that Nikola Jokić, Steve Nash and Dirk Nowitzki only won the MVP because they were white. And now mind you, I've stopped watching the NBA a couple years ago. I might watch the playoffs here or there. I didn't even know who Nikola Jokić was until somebody told me about him. Where we create narratives that do not exist in reality. The implication what you are implying that the white voters that vote on NBA are racist, they favor white people. You just said that. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. Yes, you did. That is exactly what you implied physical purpose. That is exactly what you applied. Secondly, hold on. Hold on. I did not call. I stated the facts. I stated the facts and you not about to sit up. We all know what you implied the other day. We all know what to imply. Hold on. I started a time. It's the fun. It's the first. It's the facts. Jason, is it the facts? What's going on here? So I know Kendrick Perkins, he used to appear on the show. I did for Fox Sports. Look, Kendrick is like a lot of athletes. They spend a lot of time developing their physical gifts and don't spend a lot of time working on critical thinking. And so much of their thinking comes from Twitter. And Twitter has convinced many of these athletes and many of the broadcasters on TV that racism explains everything, anything that they don't like racism is the answer.

I'm not sure. I've ever seen such a gap between a player's offensive production and defensive production and i know off the top of your head. You're going to say. Curry actually is a bad But they're nowhere near as bad as trae young as so even though trae young is absolutely elite on the offensive end to say. He's a liability on defense. I think doesn't state at high enough fifth worst defender in the nba. The only other like big time player. If you wanna even consider him a big time player that was sort of in that. Realm was daniel russell out of the minnesota timber wolves right now as far as bad. You know defensive player and so no. I don't think there's like lots of players say that gap. There's huge gaps between players offense and defensive abilities absolutely. But i don't think there's a player right now in. The nba has a bigger gap between the two. And that that's to me where young is going to have to improve to get into the tier one status. You're superstar can't just put up points and not get you and then get you trashed on the defensive end. And and that's just what the numbers and the analytic show. Darko shows the same thing as far as the defensive Inabilities right now. I don't ever expect trae young to be a great defender. But even if he could move into out of like the top one hundred worst defenders instead of top. Five if you could get there. "I think that's probably enough on derenne particularly. But one thing we wanted to kind of shift this to now is the way that Biggs have been used in the playoffs in kind of discussing birth. And you know, almost in that parameter in a way and the way that it interests me is that, you know, we saw the effect of them at a bio and Anthony, Davis last year lease or playing second fiddle to get their teams to the final. As the second best player on those teams we've seen nucleo, could step up in a big way. We've seen Joel embiid step up in a big way again, playoffs, even with his knee injury, we have seen Deandre ayton be exceptionally effective so far for the Phoenix Suns. Although I think that a big part of life is more the way that teams have to defend Chris, Paul and Devin Booker and pick-and-roll like DeAndre is basically getting everything force-fed to him at the rim and it's on DeAndre that he's doing a great job of Rimrock and putting that pressure on the defense. And I think it says a lot of how valuable that can be if you would just do that every single night but at the same token, he's really been dead. Excellent throughout the course of the playoffs. So I don't want to say we're getting back to the point where things are valuable, I think Biggs have always been valuable. It's just something you have to be like a top-10 big in the NBA to be valuable. And if you are a top ten big in the NBA, who can do a lot of different things, like Nikola jokic, being one of the two offensive players on planet Earth or bam adebayo being able to switch, everyone defensively. But at the end of the day the odds are the Luke Garza is probably not going to be like a difference-making NBA player because it's just really hard to do that at his athleticism log. Like Nikola jokic is I would say even considerably more athletic than Luka Garza. Yeah different. Yeah, like just more fluid and can handle the ball and off like has real dexterity and like hand-eye coordination and like Vision with the way that he passes and it's it's just a totally different skill-set, but I think he's also just a better athlete with Luka Garza is especially this year. Like if you've seen much of the Nuggets this year, I haven't watched on NBA now, so he actually looks athletic and that's not to say that like, I don't want to say like he looks at home by NBA standards, but like Luka garage Nikola jokic his clearly added some quickness this year and it's part of why he's like making an empty people's right. Now. I think like he's gone from home super Elite player to like potential MVP candidate and I think it's in part because he's quicker. And and so I think that the discourse has a globe are especially on social media has been has has has been pretty dishonest. I think that he's had issues and 2 Series M. I think that was the 2017 Golden State series and I think that first 2018 Series against Houston first series of Houston, you know like the Oklahoma Oklahoma City series. He was amazing. But then again he was playing against Steven Adams, you know Houston spaced him out in the second round that year 2019. He was really good against Houston the Jazz just couldn't score like they couldn't score at all. But their defense was the only reason that they were even that they're even that they were even competitive and off those games. There were still a five-game Series last year. He was good against the Nuggets, you know, so he's been good in the playoffs and you know, you know, I think I think that, you know narratives are hard to to overcome, you know, but I have no reason to think that you know, I have no reason to think that go Bear Song Isn't going to be good in this postseason, but now having said that if you know at some point, you know where he's got to look at yoga.
