"And so I texted the babysitter. I said, you know, what was he trying to ask me? And she said, well, he wanted to know if you were going to help the families in the supermarket massacre. And it was like a punch in the gut. Yeah. Read that. And I was like, I wrote back, how the hell does he know about this? And she said he had seen it on the news. And so I FaceTimed him when I stepped out of the meeting and he clearly had grasp what had happened because he said, you know, why did this bad guy do this? And what can we do to help? And then when I taught them, once I got home, in person, we started asking pretty intense questions. One of them was, are they going to go to heaven? And we got to talk to our kids about this because as you said, they can't avoid it. We are a mass shooting culture. And just a couple of years, he's going to be doing exercises in his school to protect himself, and it's just crushing that that's where we are right now. And from the mouths of babes, right? They just want to know like, what are you going to do? That was the clearest cut question. Well, what are you going to do about it? Yeah, thank you many local two bucks. "What are the reporters asked him? So in 2006 and 2010, you were supportive legislation that would restrict a woman's right to choose. What has changed? And the first things out of his mouth were nothing. Nothing. And I'm like, and granted, he then went on to explain something about his sister and conversations he's had with his sister, but I am sorry. The lines are drawn right now. What side are you on? Are you going to fight for a woman's right to choose or are you going to be anti choice? It's a very simple conversation at this point. And unfortunately, all of those types of issues, he is just not strong on. And he's refusing to debate me. We have called for 5 debates across the weight. We have agreed to all 5. And from everything that we are hearing from his camp, he ain't doing them. Wow. And how does your polling go against if you get the nomination? How are you doing against desantis? In the polls? So right now, you know, we're happy where we are because we know that desantis is the press has given him so much, you know, so much they might say that they're doing to him what they did to Trump. They created this. And so every day there is a 1 million 1 articles about desantis. There's a million to one things about desantis on TV on whatnot. And so we are right now behind him in the polls, but we know that as soon as the independence in moderate Republicans start to wake up that there's a November election. We know that those polls are going to significantly close. And we know too that my name ID isn't universal. So again, once the primary is over and we are the democratic candidate, we know at that point the polls are going to close all eyes on Florida, the money comes in significant money is going to come into our state. He is the boogeyman of the country right now. More so than even Trump. So we know that the money is going to flow into the state, and so we feel we're in a really good position. And now this is even before roe, and we know that there's going to be a lot more conversations about that. And we feel we're in a really good spot. Great. And then the last two things, I'm sorry, Caroline. I know I'm going a little long, but I thought her. So I should have a lot of the 5 minutes. Anyway, tell us about the gas thing that you're doing. I'm trying to. Yeah, she announced an emergency gas rule. I just wanted to hit that and then run them again. So emergency gas. So it's called E 15. It's a blend of gas that typically expires now as we go into summer blends, it's more of our winter blend. But EPA has authorized to be able to use this gas, which is cheaper..

"Mickey Mouse. I mean, are you like, I mean, and now it's raising property taxes. I mean, what's going on? Nikki, tell everybody, what the hell is going on? I actually was at a press conference earlier this morning and we I was asked by one of the reporters. It was not what my press conference was was to ask me out Disney. And I went on a 15 minute soapbox of that Disney and the Disney fight is a microcosm of the example of what is happening the bigger picture of this fascism of this dictatorship that is happening here in our state. So yeah, so Disney is one of our largest corporations, absolutely one of the biggest tourist industries in the state of Florida. And let's not forget over the last year he also went after the cruise line industry. So he's picking fights with the big guys here in our state and forcing his own policies on businesses and the last thing I remember Republicans are supposed to be business friendly. Yeah. You know, that's kind of their motto free market. And allowing corporations to do what they need to do internally. So he rages this war on Disney because they came out and spoke up against the don't say gay Bill. Yes. And so what we saw, by the way. Right. And so they came out and said, this is not good for our own people. Our employees, this is not good for our society. And so Ron wants, well, how dare somebody come in and dare cross me and not support my legislation. And so during our last special session that they came up to again, they were coming up for special session because he drew an unconstitutional map that took away two minority access congressional districts. So they came back up to redo the maps and the legislature just complicated to that to him and just took his unconstitutional maps. In that same special session, literally 24 hours before special session started, he threw Disney under the bus and added that to session and they rescinded what's called a special district in Florida, giving the special powers to Disney. They, which has been in an existence since 19 67 or 68, and now the economic ramifications are significant. Both on the people that are living in that community, potentially seeing increases of almost $2500 for their property from property taxes to the services that they get locally. We are seeing some of the international bond rating authorities come in and say, Florida, you're on our watch list because we may have to drop your triple-A bond rating because your economy may be unstable. And so you're seeing now other corporations and other CEOs, not just in Florida, but across the entire country saying, wait a second, do we want to be in Florida with such a volatile situation? Yes. We could be next. And so this is going to have significant economic ramifications on our state because he wanted revenge. And so this is who we have here in our governor. Well, Ken, now let me ask you because, like, I'm seeing this with Disney. I have, I have a gay child. I have a transgender child. And you know, and that's why I don't say gay really, I mean, that's not why, but it really hits home to me because it's not easy to come out as trans and then to have a party that has people like desantis and green, you know, I'm bobert and all attacking the LGBTQ+ community. It's really, it's really unbelievable. It's atrocious..

"And he's a known QAnon. It is wife, was put on our department of our education board for the state of Florida. You know, she's like moms for liberty. She was done, I guess it was like three weeks ago, it was her appointment, and now it's his appointment. And it's scary. It is scary what's happening here in our state. But that's why we're fighting. And every day we're going out there, we're giving people hope or saying, look, there's a way to lead that's actually rational. And so I just actually just now got off the phone with a Republican here in Florida. 41 year old guy has a small business, Cuban, and he's like, look, I'm a registered Republican, but enough just enough. Now, that's what that's a good point that you just made. Are you noticing that that's happening more now? Because it seems like a lot of I don't know if I'm crazy, but it seems like people are starting to go, you know what? I'm out, you know? I'm out of it. Right? Yeah, no, it's happening. And I think that, you know, we've been saying it, but we're living it. We are seeing obviously there's a difference in policy issues, different on things. But I think you paint this picture of where we are as a country. And where we are that we know that the radical right, because I'm not even calling them Republicans because my dad's a Republican, I have lots of friends and lots of family that are Republicans. I don't want to say Republicans. Is the radicalization of the party that, you know, that they really truly want to go back to the original constitution, like literally the originalist that women stayed home and we were barefoot in pregnant and blasted didn't have a right to vote. That's where we're going. And I think that with the leaking of the Supreme Court decision, I think that people across the country are starting to say, oh crap. Not even death this is just a women's right to choose. But what else potentially is on the chopping blocks, you're seeing people waking up. Everybody's got somebody that they know that's either black or gay or women, and so I'm hearing that a lot more on the ground that people are starting to say, oh shh, oh crap. It's okay. Are you originally from Florida? Born and raised as were my parents. Oh, nice. Okay, now Disney is like, I mean, they are like, they must be one of the biggest importers of cash to the economy in Florida. Ron DeSantis has now declared war.

But the woman who's like huge and you interviewed her and she seemed oblivious to everything you were saying to her asking her just just didn't want to know from it didn't want to hear that she's giving bad information. So that seems like there's a. I think you're talking about ninoska perez. She's decades She was part of that old guard that i talked about. And then as always been around. And i'll give i'll get the nose get credit. She came on she g. She defended what she believes. And and you know. I think that's that's a healthy thing to do and You know knows survivor. She's been on this town in this community for a long time But yeah we're seeing it more and more and if the democrats don't having a better answer for the socialism argument whether it's nikki freed or or charlie chris and you know. I don't know if you've reported on this but you know it's almost certain that a net today. Oh the state. Senator is going to be getting into the race. To the governor's race governor's race. She's jumping into the governor's week really and surprising to me. She was she thinks she's she's in the best position to counter be socialism arc because she's hispanic We know annette today. Oh but here's the thing she's been around for a long time. She's never won a statewide election before and she's tried a number of times I don't know she was charlie. Chris antenna governor candidate when he ran. I don't think she's ever run statewide other the matt. So she was part of charlie chris campaign Four years ago or whenever was six years ago the you know that the that he lost To rick scott right race before descent The raise for rick scott second turn yes six years ago. She was his lieutenant governor candidate so the fact that he's jumping into the race while charlie chris there is an interesting side note as well But yeah no. She's a you know her. Her father was kidnapped by the farc So she she understands the dangers of of that sort of authoritarianism that sort of guerrilla movement That sort of argument and feels that you can't touch her with that. Now i think to your point how well known she outside of miami dade I would say that she's the least well. Known of the candidates. Running for governor would have a difficult time if i was handicapping the race. But who knows that. So it's a long way to the it's almost a year to the primer while it is and that opens the door i mean. Do you think anybody else's going to jump in because you know i was surprised that there's only two so now three. What about dan gelber danzon. No he won't do. No i don't i don't see dan gilbert the remind beach running You know it's Again he is a is a creature of south florida. I'm not sure how well he would play mind elsewhere. He ran for attorney. General armenta can't remember how long ago and did not Did not farewell right You know you can there lots of reasons for it. I mean You know. I am not sure how open other parts of the state are to anyone for miami. Dade that tends to be a problem they tend to look down on folks for miami dade and the rest of the state so but yeah. "How do i decide who to vote for. And i say oh. I i always vote for instance for For bond issues. I always vote. Yes on bond issues and they said no matter what is that. Oh absolutely always vote. Yes on bond issues. Why i said because the more money government has greater chance they have of somebody stealing it better and the better off. I am and being able to uncover that theft. So it's job security. i always vote a bond issues. I vote for the worst candidate in the election every time because always vote for the crook because they will give you something to write about my god so you vote for for bron- death stanton again. I vote based on my own self interest of of of job security and wanting to wanting to have interesting things to cover. And if not i would probably move back to spokane washington where i used to live before moving to miami. I worked at the paper their hind spokane washington and They're not a lot of crime and corruption. Now nazis every once in a while otherwise considered a nice place to raise a i. I hear you Miami not so much we are. This is a i. Call it florida for good reason But you know when you and i work together. The governor which charlie crest a republican used to refer to him as charlie chris. The republican the best democratic governor. The florida has had in a long time It was a joke because he he he. He was not your typical republican. But he's really wasn't a democrat either. Did you ever envision him. Running for governor again It it doesn't surprise me. Charlie early likes public service i think. That's a charitable way to phrase it. He likes running a he's had. He's run statewide many times. He was the attorney general back when he was attorney. General he was known as chain gang charlie because he wanted to portray himself as being tough on crime. And i think he was also secretary of education at one time and attorney general said and and and then governor on any ran for the senate and he didn't win and then he changed parties and then he ran for the house and he's in the house now has been i think for two terms and now he's running for governor again By the way. Trolling was was an early canary in the coalmine for the republican party. Because we're did. Charlie crist in was during a Meeting in southwest florida When the president had gotten some funding for florida and was in the state. Touting this was president obama at the time and charlie chris and him were on stage together and he gave. It wasn't a nice little embrace three. I am not about that. that image. That picture was used as basically saying he's not a real republican and so therefore you have to vote them out so and when he when he lost the senate race he wassef. First senate race. The marco rubio who rose to prominence on the backing of the tea party. Right so mega. I said charlie joy has that interesting place in history. Where i think he was as i said Sort of the canary in the republican. Goal right well. I should mention. We had nikki freed on in the first half hour. Charlie crist is gonna join us a week from tomorrow so doing equal time thing here. I need to figure out who. I want to vote for and frankly i honestly don't know i just know that i don't want rhonda santa's again. I thought rick. Scott was horrible and rhonda. Santa's is a whole new level of daw in florida dot to me. I'm not gonna ask you comment on that. Your journalists are going to want to say one thing. I get it you know. You're you're passionate about what you believe in. I'm not sure. Democrats help themselves when they do the death scientists really a death sentence sentence. But okay awful. Whatever it is. It's just it's like you know. Argue the facts right and if you argue the facts. It's when it's when we get into the name call. I gotcha and i understand that i understand that were thank god you you know my daughter. You knew her when she was young and and and a pain in the ass running around the studio and stealing. You know pancakes from steve harvey who got all the good private chef at clear channel. And we didn't but she if she were still in school i'd be having heart attacks right now. I'm so glad she's out of school. And i don't have to deal with the masks stuff. what he's doing to our school children i think is horrible and i don't understand what he's trying to kill off. The people of florida will again. I'm not. I'm not here to speak on his behalf here to to To vilify him. Either it's you know. I think what's fascinating to me about. The arc of covert in florida is you can make the case. And i think it's there's there's truth to it that he got the early part of the pandemic one hundred percent right whereas other states did not While while new york and california were not shutting down and isolating the nursing homes assisted. Living facilities florida did or does emphasis was on their elderly. The elderly right and they were the first to get vaccines true. Yeah and there's there's you know there's two ways to look at that one is they. Were the most vulnerable population so it made sense to to go and protect the most vulnerable population. The other is older. Americans are also reliably republican particularly places like the villages and other things are central to To any republican winning in the state of florida but giving him the benefit of the doubt he was right in those early days. And i think that that what the takeaway for him was you know. Unlike unlike a lot of people. I will tell you in talking to his staff. The people around him I've covered him for a long time. He's a voracious reader and and it's it sometimes. I think the issue is a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. Reads the studies. He absorbs studies and then he then he processes them so he can have an argument with people. I think i think he gets backed into a corner. I think when he does himself the best the worst the worst aspects of himself come out when he constantly feels corner. He does not. I mean it's charitable to say he does not like the media he's he's in and condescending..

"Manny diaz as chair of the democratic party of florida. Who was the last person who should have a role in in certainly democratic party politics but any politics. I'm so disgusted with the party. It is dysfunctional on its best day and horrific on its worst In fact manny diaz took it upon himself to put out a press release excoriating the progressive caucus inside the florida democratic party rather than dealing with moving forward. So that's my i. I mean i'm hoping if you get in there. You old somehow take control of the democratic party and whip it into shape because that's another. I'm sorry it's not. It's not working well for you for any of us right now and there is huge pumps the and i think that part of the problem is this. We haven't had you know. And i came in and i have been very honest you about this. I didn't wear. I've been a democrat my entire life. But i haven't been involved in the democratic party so when i first came into office. I didn't know a lot of the party leaders. I didn't know that the chairs of each of the counties in the clubs. And so i spent a lot of time last year and a half years getting ingratiated with everybody. Learning who everybody is who what. What is the background of some of the party stuff. And so it's been really important for me to get background because you right that there is such dysfunction within the party And and so. I spent a lot of time on the phones. Especially after november. Twenty twenty listening and talking and giving them advice and suggestions about how to organize how to fundraise how to make sure that we are not going to the voters just before an election. That's not a winning combination. We gotta be constantly you know going to the communities going and talking to them doing what i'm calling value added you go. If it's broward county broward should be doing beach cleanups every other weekend you'll be building habitat for humanity. They've if you're on the west coast. You should be doing this. And he should be doing that. However we as democrats showing the people of our state that we care more about about them in the communities and we care about winning an election and so the only way that we're going to win is to make people truly understand that we as a party care about their their lives care about making sure that there's food on their plates that there's that there's roofs over their heads that they've got a good paying jobs and showing that support and local level consistently. So what i have said. It's it's all about the message. It's having a consistent message consistently messaging and trusted messengers and until the democratic party can figure out how to get that right. And i certainly hope that i am the conduit to make that happen in in november. Twenty twenty two. I've got Not to be on on air conversation. But certainly i've got a game plan of how we're going to win in november and how to make sure that we are building our bench and how we are organizing like we have never organized in the state. And it's going to take a leader on. That truly understands all of that to bring everybody together and start turning the page of this And bringing our party together shouldn't be internal fighting within the party and unplug a strike And so we need a trusted leader to bring everybody together And so given that. I you know what will be the the nominee in in august and then win in november Then we'll be able to truly create a party. That is sustainable. "If you're watching on one of the video streams you may notice. I look a little different. Yeah see my hair was getting really long and we did this once before i had. David cut it for me and it came out okay. This time it did not this time you know. Last time i was so careful. I put rubber bands on us. Said cut right. Blow the rubber at this time. I said just your boat right below my shoulder so that when it's dry it'll just hit my shoulder and what i got was not that it was crooked and it was really really really really short so i wound up going to To get to a professional to get it fixed. This is so not my style. It's really short. But it's a bob. I gotta bob So this is all blow dried and quaffed. I'm not big on the coughing. So we'll see what happens. I i'm i'm sure it won't look nearly this cool after i wash it and try to style it myself but for now it's kind of cool right kind of cool air. It is from the back. You should do what it looked like before. I won't show you because it was horrible horrible so anyway Wasn't planning on getting a haircut. But let me tell you the guy that i found. I didn't go to my usual person. Because frankly i went on the website and they do not require masks or any cova precautions on like bye-bye and i found this guy actually found him on groupon so i got a great deal on it anyway. Reviews were excellent and he requires a mask and he's vaccinated and it's one of those. This is a new thing where they have these suites so it's a big Salon company but it's all individual rooms so each stylist has their own place. So it was just me and this guy in there So i felt comfortable with it. It wore the mask the whole time. He wore masks ole time vaccinated and i felt okay about it because after all i am in florida and florida is well the cova is still raging here and it's because we have this idiot in tallahassee calling the shots and hopefully we're going to replace him soon and i'm very excited that are we've got a busy busy show for you today. 'cause coming up a little later is one of my favorite journalists. Actually one of the best reporters in the business His name is jim defeating. He and i worked together. So i can. I can say that. I produced his morning. Show on winz and miami Back in two thousand three two thousand four three thousand four two thousand five i believe and then he left and i took over the morning show on. Winz one floor when south florida had a progressive talk station and then after i hosted the morning show for about a year. The station was owned by the company then known as clear channel now known as i hurt radio. I'm sorry it's i hate radio either way. They you know they killed off south florida's only progressive talk station to put the fifth sports talk station on the air in south florida. It's still there. It's still sports and it has worse ratings than we did as a progressive talk station case you were wondering so anyway jim. She is one of people running to replace the guy who's occupying the governor's office now. I have to say a fellow nikki. You're also a nicole right. I grew up. I was nick. And i k- k i and now because my family still calls me nikki and friends from way back so we have that in common. So tell us about you. I'm definitely call doing time. That i get called the Is was when. I used to actually in the courtroom And i used to make my klein. Obviously that the judges. It's and when my dad gets not me. He's so-called medical no. I remember all through school through elementary and high school. First day of school. they'd go down. You know the names nicole sandler yet. Nikki nikki as a kid. And then once i got out of college i thought i guess i should be nicole now so anyway. It was an unusual name. When i was a kid. I'm a bit older than you are. Now there are nikki's everywhere so we're we're trailblazers anyway. Nikki freed A lot of people who are listening. Maybe don't know you. You are the agriculture the commissioner of agriculture and consumer services here in florida. That's sort of a weird combination. Is it agriculture and consumer services. What did they go together. Yes so there's like some history on this So the add commissioner is in our constitution and when they had over time kind of changed the makeup of the cabinet They got rid of some positions and so over time. They kept trying to figure out who was responsible for this activity. Or who's response for that one. And they the at the time. There was an ad commissioner. Who kept his raising his hands and said we'll take it over here so they expanded Disposition to not just be agriculture but agriculture consumer services. The other aspect of it is There were times when there is a threat to taking it out of the constitution and so the committee felt while maybe if we just create such a big position with so many responsibilities That will help us. Keep the commissioner of agriculture as constitutional officer. Do did you. Did you have any involvement with the world of agriculture. Before taking on its position well came from the marijuana space. So that's kind of where my background comes from. Is i was very involved in the medical marijuana program here in the state of florida. I'm also one of the lead. Just government consultants across the country on this issue So do fundamentally believe that the future of agriculture is the cannabis plant and so feeling. That's kind of where the synergy. I come from when i decided to run for commissioner. I love hearing that. i'm astounded. Look we live in the sunshine. State things grow here like weeds. Go figure we'd we'd the fact that we're not growing it and taxing it and making a fortune filling our coffers is frankly astounding to me but you know you own appreciate it but as i refer to the state. It's floor da. I wanna get the daw out of florida so this sounds like a no brainer to me. But hey we were. We were on the road to getting close to having recreational marijuana on the ballot coming up and then all of a sudden. We're not what happened with that young. It's fortunate the supreme court kicked the ballot initiative to actually. There was two ballot initiatives that were being worked on one that basically regulated it No different than they do alcohol. Lisa like you see the alcohol stores in licensing underneath that The other one was a more restricted program but still allowing for access and for legalization on the supreme court. Kicked both of those initiatives out Obviously i do not agree with that ruling by any stretch imagination And just concerned about some of the rulings coming out of supreme court..

"And we all came together and got it through it together. But the only governor, I think, maybe Abbott, maybe camp, but for the most part, every other governor has increased in their polling numbers and he's gone down. And you've even seen Marco and Rick Scott are into kind of backpedal away a little bit. Saying things like, well, I think the information is really important to get out there. I think Rick Scott said that on the Fox News yesterday and starting to kind of really backpedal a little bit because they see the polls, too, and they know that this is not the right approach. Yeah. And speaking of 9 11, just because you brought it up and I've been kind of livid about this for ever since, you know, yeah, America both Democrats and Republicans did rally behind our president. And, you know, chastised the terrorists. I mean, we were angry and, you know, we were in unison against the terrorists. Yet now you see in today's GOP, you know, ISIS kills 13 service members in Afghanistan. And instead of rallying around Joe Biden, you know, to try and get these terrorists, you see the media, and you see the GOP. Chastised Joe Biden. Like they're almost rooting for the terrorists. Yeah. And if you're eating to me too, I am certainly no expert on Afghanistan. And on military operations. But we also know that president after president for the last 20 years have also said we've got to pull our troops out. Trump said it, Trump said, you know, Trump put this into motion. This time frame was put into motion under him. And so Biden was stuck in an impossible situation that he could follow through. And now all of a sudden all of these Republicans who have been on the Senate and House floor are screaming over the last ten years saying we've got to pull out we've got to pull out. We got to pull out. And finally, when the president of the United States has the balls to pull out, they all of a sudden, like, you know, want to scream bloody murder. And he just did the worst thing and the history of American and international conflicts. And it's unfortunate because you're right. You know, at a time like this, we lost 13 service members who were out there trying to protect civilians and instead of again rallying around our president and working with him for a right response. It's, you know, let's throw them to the wolves, and let's call for his impeachment and remove from office. I mean, my God, that's insane. Yeah, yeah. I swear to you, it's so hard to imagine this country is that has gone down that rabbit hole. Like really, it's gotten scary to me. And, you know, you know, I'm obviously a little older than you are, but I've never seen the country. I mean, I've never seen the Republican Party this like crazy. You know what I mean? I hate to say this Nicky, but I had Eric swalwell, you know, the congressman. I love Eric. Eric and I are friends. I love Eric, too, and I blatantly, you know, I asked him Eric.

"Oh, well, so the Orlando sent in that well, the Orlando sentinel has done some really great investigative work that I think has led to actual charges because the authorities in Florida were not really. Pursuing it. So in southern South Florida, basically, the GOP recruited people to run as a run against the Democrats as independents, basically. So fake independent independence and one of them they changed the person's name pretty dramatically, so it sounded like the Democrat who was on the ballot. And this is like for state races that which are really, really important and hugely key to the GOP strategy and all the nefariousness they're doing now is the state legislatures. So they siphoned votes from the Democrats by planting they pay people basically to go on the ballot is fake independence and full voters. And they did it in at least three races. There's a fourth that was added on recently. The GOP did it in Minnesota, too, and I don't know if it's coordinated between the two GOPs. But our nationally even, but it's been a really big story that's been reported on really well by the Orlando sentinel and not really well by the national media, has mostly, I think, ignored it. So seminal county and volusia, there were a couple of counties that just ref seminal for sure was refusing to investigate. It appeared. It's shell candidate. And that's kind of where Matt Gaetz is. That's where that's where Matt Gaetz's friend is from. What was his name again? The guy who well, the guy who's giving away testimony. I think remember his name now. I want to say you know what, it's so weird because Glen Carson was just on Tuesday and he said his name and I always get it mixed up with weisselberg. So I can't remember now. "But therein lies the problem, Sarah, because that's how bad it's getting now. The Republicans don't want it to pass 'cause they know it's gonna help the Democrats in 2022. It's not about the American people anymore. It's about which party wins. It's party over country. That's it. But you didn't see that from Democrats. I keep hearing people saying, oh, everything's tribalism. And it's a little annoying because you can only think that everything's tribalism, if you're really not paying attention. Democrats did pass laws that help the people under Trump. They didn't do this thing that Republicans have been doing since Obama of holding it with the desk feeling now. They're going to hold the whole country hostage to try to destroy the economic recovery that's happening under Joe Biden. Who does that? Why aren't they held accountable for that? I can't tell you. I don't, you know, it blows my mind. I still don't understand why people who are so quick to rush in there to blame Democrats for what Republicans are doing. Don't want to blame Republicans for what Republicans are doing. You know? I find it confusing. I think there is this D.C. bubble where a lot of ideas get kind of workshopped and I've been noticing that a lot of that happens in a framework that. Leans Republican. And I don't mean that the people are Republican. There just seems to be and there has been as long as I've been doing this this natural mean towards Republican claims, you know, if they make a claim, the media is running to confront the Democrat about this claim. Maybe it's because the Democrats actually answer. But if you do that to Mitch McConnell, he doesn't answer. I don't know. I don't know why it's happening, but I just see that the framework, the frame of how things are presented to the American people. Is filtered through. And it may be corporate money. I'm not sure. I'm sure that plays a part of it, but it's filtered through a lens that it's not about the people. We should be talking in this country, but what the people need. People are, you know, they're desperate in this country right now. We've had this pandemic going on for so long and things are not easy out here in the real world that isn't D.C.. And those folks that got elected, they should be doing their job. They should be doing their job for the American people and they should think about what's best for their constituents at home. But instead, it's like, oh my pose with a big machine gun behind me. And tell you that, you know, we're going to impeach Joe Biden. You know, the Democrats did impeach Trump, but they managed Nancy Pelosi managed to pass all kinds of bills and while that was happening. You know? She said we can do both. And I thought, well, I don't know how they're going to pull this off. And she did. Yeah. Because she made them show up. So I don't know. You know, she made them show up and come in. "To feel some of their loss. I'm sorry that people find that still repulsive. I thought it was repulsive when we had a president who mocked disabled people and made fun of women constantly and went after people like a juvenile ten year old. Yep. On too many steroids. I thought that was a bad thing. So everybody has their taste. Well, I would prefer a Barack Obama and Joe Biden so far doing a great job of, I mean, better job than I think most of us thought he would do, frankly. So I can't help but be impressed by what he's a managed to accomplish. And the way that he like Nancy Pelosi has kept this the Democratic Party going forward, he has a lot of relationships with folks because he's been in this he was in the Senate for so long. And then vice president. He's got these long-term relationships that are showing. And that takes character. You don't have relationships with people for 40 years. If you like you see with Donald Trump, he's constantly throwing everyone around him under the bus. Yeah, but let me. This is the thing I don't understand, Sarah and maybe you can invite me on this. You know, they still believe that Trump is all about the military. But meanwhile, we all know Trump called the military suckers and losers and didn't show up to their, you know, to events because it was raining out. I mean, like, where is the disconnect? They know this. They've heard this. They know he's called our military suckers and losers. Yet they still believe he is the president that supported the military. Explain this to me. Well, I mean, it's a cult. You know, there is no basis in reality. I live around people who have they still have their Trump flags flying. And they're, you know, veterans for Trump and their Q flags all together. There's like there'll be three in a row. Sometimes they'll have a few on their trucks. I now they've added pro injuring the election. They added pro life for Trump. I mean, can you imagine during the pandemic? There's no making sense of that. It's pro life for the fetus, and everyone else can just go die. So I can't really explain why they think I mean, I think what they're actually identifying with and what they liked about Trump. Is he is that authoritarian or he put on the act of it? He actually is it didn't even manage to pull this off, but he puts on this act of being this authoritarian strongman. He did it on his TV show. And then he carried that over, playing this part as president. And they thought, oh, look at he's a strong man. Sick the military on the libs, you know, he's getting Black Lives Matter, punished. You know, he's their gassing people, isn't this great? Because that show of power is very attractive to certain kinds of people whose psychology feels a victimized. They feel left behind, they feel unseen and this kind of being a part being on that team of this person who's harming the people that they feel are responsible for their situation feels really good.
