Vivek Ramaswamy Talks ESG and Black Rock

"Of our retirement funds, of the money in your investment accounts or your 401k accounts, and they use it to buy up shares in corporate America of every public company in America to tell them to then adopt environmental and social standards that run contrary to A, the will of most Americans and B, contrary to their best financial interests. So I think this is a largest scale fiduciary breach and arguably antitrust violation of our century. It is a company that is using your money without your knowledge to advance somebody else's left wing political agenda and it's happening every day without you voting at the ballot box to support it. So I think it is a major problem and it's a major threat to our constitutional republic and it's a threat to capitalism and I find it deeply concerning that that same leader, Larry Fink, the leader of BlackRock, has now not only tilted his hands on the scale of the Democratic Party but is now looking to turn the Republican Party into a subsidiary of their own power as well. And I can talk more about that, Mark, but the long story short is it was very concerning and the ESG agenda is fundamentally anti -American and now to see it potentially infiltrate the Republican Party is a problem and I'm going to call that out. It's a huge problem and in addition to him you saw these corporatists giving a standing ovation to Xi of China, which why he went to San Francisco and Nikki Haley is lobbing them and they are lobbing her and I'm thinking to myself, how the hell is she ever going to stand up to Communist China? No? Well, she doesn't stand up to Communist China, Mark. It's an act that she puts up. When she was the best ambassador to the UN, these are her words not mine, she called China our great friend. She's brought Chinese companies with affiliations with the CCP to her state of South Carolina. I think you could say people made mistakes in the past, did they learn from them? Fine. But in the present, the very mega donors in the UN party who are propping her up, the Larry Finks

"Brought to you by the loan experts I trust, Andrew and Todd at Sierra Pacific Mortgage at andrewandtodd.com. Joining us now is the legendary Raheem Kassam who lands more Trump interviews than anybody else. Congratulations, Raheem. It's like if I want to see what Trump has to think, he just calls Raheem on the plane or in the office. So you're doing a great job. Raheem, there's a lot going on in the Western world right now. We have Ireland that is bubbling up and we have a lot happening domestic politically as well. So I want to ask here, just have you walk us through, how do you see the Republican race, Republican primary race, Koch brothers behind Nikki Haley? What are we supposed to make of that? Well, and thank you for having me, Charlie, and thank you for the kind words. The first thing that comes to mind when you look at Koch world, Koch network, choosing to endorse Nikki Haley is obviously the megabucks, right? That's a war chest that any candidate would love to get their hands on, on any side. Historically, you know, the Kochs have poured hundreds of millions into races over the last couple of years alone. Probably runs into much more than that over the last 20 odd years. And the second part of it that people need to understand is that so many people that are in the DeSantis camp actually have worked for or with Koch-aligned and affiliated organizations over their political histories. So for instance, if you take, you know, Ken Cuccinelli had received, when he was AG, large amounts of money from Koch networks. You have DeSantis spokesman, Carly Acheson, who was defending her former boss, Governor Kevin Stitt, taking money from Koch networks previously. And Christina Pushaw as well, the spokesman for Ron DeSantis, the rapid response spokesman for Ron DeSantis, has also worked closely with Koch networks. So you've got to look at it from that perspective as to why they find it so much of a humiliation, so much of a snub that that organization, America's Prosperity, and probably the broader Koch network as well, is now going to be supporting somebody else. Somebody else who has been eating Team DeSantis' lunch for a couple of weeks now, who is fundraising just as much as them, who is going up in the polls, not down or flatlining. And, you know, I'm not a huge Nikki Haley fan by any stretch of the imagination. But her campaign is clearly more disciplined. She's clearly impressing donors much more. And yes, they are, you know, I've never been a fan of the Koch networks. They are more open borders, more globalist types, more corporate types. But at the same time, like I said at the very beginning, these candidates would kill to get their hands on that kind of money.

"They are absolutely enamored with her. This is why, if she gets momentum, and she may, she may- Iowa's going to be a real big test. New Hampshire, South Carolina, these early primary states, and incidentally, we've got some great news to share. My dear friend and my pal, Joey Hudson from South Carolina, is going to be my 2024 election correspondent. We're sending him to New Hampshire, we're sending him to Iowa. He's going to be reporting on the primaries from those primary states beginning in January of 2024. I hope he has a really heavy coat. We've done some Iowa and some New Hampshire, and the genius has decided to put those elections in frozen tundras of America in January and February. Let's see if she gets some momentum, because they're enamored with this whole donor, you know, the whole establishment, donor class, loving- alright, so here's what I love, here's what I- Ron DeSantis, it doesn't seem, is catching on, Ron DeSantis isn't getting the traction that they thought he would get. My goodness, how much I would love Ron DeSantis saying, you know what, I'm all in for Donald Trump, I endorse Trump, and then maybe even a Trump DeSantis ticket, and then it becomes kind of Trump DeSantis versus the Nikki Haley globalist worldview, you know? A, we may get there anyway, if DeSantis- because I've said it 14 times a day, at some point there are only going to be two candidates left, one of them will be named Donald Trump, the other one will not. So who's that other one going to be? And the battle for that lane is full-on DeSantis and Haley, I think that's got to sort of play out naturally, nobody's going to bow out now ahead of time and gang up to beat- DeSantis or Haley will either be the last person standing, and then that will be the person, and it's a pretty important person, because other than Trump, and other than that Mrs. Lincoln, right? Other than Trump, who else matters the most? And that will be a kind of a natural Trump running mate, wouldn't it? If it is Haley, if it's DeSantis, I think Trump DeSantis, there's a way for that to work, please Lord and for everybody, just don't email the show, Trump would have to change his legal residence to New York, get it out of Mar-a-Lago, because- Takes five minutes, that's no big deal. Exactly, and he did it in 2000, but if Nikki Haley winds up being that other, that last person standing, because you remember 2016, it was Trump and Cruz, Indiana primary, first week of May, Trump beat Cruz, and finally it became obvious that it was going to be Trump. It was also obvious that Cruz was not going to be Trump's running mate. Is there something about a Trump-Haley ticket, because they have a sort of a different type of appeal? Perhaps, and she checks a lot of boxes, she's a female, she's a person of color, you know, I mean, and she's strong, she is, now listen, she's tough, she's a tough cookie, but I also wonder, and I'm breaking my own commandment here, I just don't want to criticize Republicans here, because I'm going to be- You're not criticizing, you're analyzing, get over that. But let me analyze this in a way that sounds negative, because it is a negative. So be it, it's okay, so be it. There is a perception that she's opportunistic, there's a perception that she is kind of- Yep, talk to South Carolinians. Well, but the South Carolinians who don't like her- Well, they don't like her for a reason. If there's a view she holds, like this stupid social media, everybody has to be verified thing, go after her for that. Opportunistic, she was the governor of an important state, she was UN ambassador, maybe this is her time. Let me make the case, let me make the argument, look at her, you gotta look at her track record, my friend, and you gotta talk to people who know her well.

RINO Billionaires Are Now Coalescing Behind Nikki Haley

"Wants you to know she's up for the fight. She's told us over and over again that she's a woman. Why does she have to tell us over and over again that she's a woman? Isn't that what the Libs do, or at least used to do? Okay, got it. She's a woman. Perfect. But she's not Margaret Thatcher. Let's be honest. The problem is Nikki Haley's not a conservative. I've said it before I'll and say it again. She's George Bush in a dress. Obviously what I mean by that is ideologically. This is why Karl Rove is getting behind her. This is why others who horrific have losing streaks are getting behind her. Billionaires getting behind her. There's a report out now, I think it was Axios, that said that she was meeting with the. No, no, there's a report on Axios that says Mitt Romney's big money guy has now moved over to Kelly's team. What? Oh yeah. Romney's guy. And there's more. Remember this guy Fink at Black Rock? I wrote about him and The Democrat Party hates America and we've talked about him very often. Black Rock? Remember he was pushing ESG, that is, he was pushing hard this woke agenda and trying to impose it on all the other companies that he helps finance or invests in? A one -man wrecking machine, this guy Fink. Well guess who she met with a few days ago? Him. Why would she meet with him? Ron DeSantis. May I use his name, Mr. Producer? Is that okay? What drew $2 billion from Black Rock because of what they were doing? Yeah. Thank you. Iggy Haley And Iggy Haley was the one who said she said it herself. I know this to be true. I checked with my stepson, Mr. Producer. And that is that Disney, she said Disney can come to South Carolina while DeSantis is fighting Disney. She invites them to South Carolina and I can go on and on. And it's not just her versus DeSantis or her versus Ramaswami or versus her Trump, it's her versus us. Us. So you're seeing, if you were to ask Mitch McConnell who he liked, Nikki Haley. They'll all like Nikki Haley. In Washington D .C., Republicans. the That's who

"I kid you not. For the win with a capital W. His grandfather is Raul Armenta, part of the Chumash tribe and a member of the Santa Ynez band of Chumash Indians. Because dirty little secret, you know, who absolutely loves all the Kansas city chiefs trappings and imagery. And when the chiefs are rocking and rolling and they all do the, you know, who absolutely loves that Indians, native Americans, that community loves this because it's a celebration of their trappings, their culture, their history, the Redskins fans loved it, loved Atlanta Braves fans loved it. Cleveland Indians, George Floyd's ghost made us rename that team too. They loved it. So good for this kid. So what happens to the writer for Deadspin who did such a shameful thing? Does he, does he, is there any accountability? You know, we're, we're about accountability these days. You know, I know we talk a lot about cancel culture and all that, but there's gotta be accountability. Tommy Tuberville is so right to try to get the military out of the abortion business. And the, listen, the donor class, the establishment types, they are so angry at him. They're livid, Mark. You should hear the way they trash him. I know you do. And all he's saying is, first of all, you're breaking the law. This is the violation of the Hyde Amendment. The military should not be in the abortion business. He's standing firm. There's an accountability here, but you know what the donor, you know what the elites want? No accountability. Just promote the donor class. And then there's the donor class that went all in for Haley and is good. Any ABT, anybody but Trump because the donor class, God bless him for all the money they've made, but they don't have the spine. They don't have the armor. They don't have the will. They don't have the spirit for the fight that, that a Trump style candidate has. Well, I've been thinking a lot about, and I've been thinking about this Koch endorsement of Nikki Haley and Bob Vander Pla, all this stuff that's going on right now. And Nikki Haley's got some momentum. There's no way around it. And she's been great on Israel. She is, she is an establishment candidate in a way that both DeSantis and Trump are not. And there's a, there's a line of demarcation here that I think we got to draw between the Trump DeSantis vortex and Nikki Haley. She's globalist. She is absolute forever Wars. I'm sorry. She is. And, and talk to people in South Carolina about Nikki Haley, that you get kind of a different view of her from the worldview of the, of the donor class, but the donor class loves her. They are absolutely enamored with her. This is why if she gets momentum and she may, she may, I was going to be a real big test. New Hampshire, South Carolina, these early primary States, and incidentally we've got some great news to share. She was UN ambassador. Maybe this is her time. Let me make the case. Let me make the argument. Look at her. You got to look at her track record, my friend, and you got to talk to people who know her well. There is a look and maybe it goes back to the Confederate battle flag controversy where she was absolutely going to defend it and she was going to support it. And then Charleston shooting happened and she caved and she completely flip flopped. There is a perception that she kind of twists in the wind. You know, I'm intrigued by the rage she exhibited towards Vivek Ramaswamy. Same thing is said about Vivek, that he is a tad opportunistic. He's a guy that looks for clicks and looks for attention and you know, maybe he has that same opportunistic streak. You know, wants to say what the people want to hear. You know that again, I could be... Has Vivek ever... because I think maybe it's the wrong adjective. That doesn't strike me as opportunistic. It strikes me as a moment of weakness because when she buckled on the Confederate imagery because of an event in the news, I mean, that was either right or wrong and people can feel either way about that. But if an event makes you change your mind, you know, if sprouting a gay kid makes you change your mind about gay marriage, you lost your focus. You lost your core values. Has Vivek ever done a 180 on something? Because I don't know. I think he has. No, I don't know that he has. I just wonder why she is so enraged at the guy and it makes me think that he reminds her of her.You know, it's almost like why... she went off the deep end. I mean, did you... you saw it, right? She called him scum. I know. And that was bad because even if... because there are going to be sharp elbows. There are going to be jerk moments, you know, in debates and Vivek can be a jerk sometimes because, you know, who else can? Trump. You know, who else can? A whole lot of other people. But it was that thing where it's like, hey, get your daughter off of TikTok. Maybe you ought to police up your own family. And that was stupid of Vivek and then he responded badly. I'm intrigued by your affection for Nikki Haley, boy, Mark Davis, globalist, ladies and gentlemen. Interesting. This is what you do. Interesting. Oh, no, no, no. I'm getting the text messages. "I would not sign a six week national abortion ban. And the reason I wouldn't is because we fought for 50 years and we had this conversation a little bit before. We fought for 50 years to put this in the hands of the people to say the federal government, in that case, the Supreme Court had taken it out of the hands of the people and given them no voice. Now people having a voice. So we've seen it. You mentioned Virginia, Michigan, Ohio, Kansas. And one thing I know for sure is there is no consensus around a six week abortion ban nationally. Do you think that makes her unelectable? I think it makes it much more difficult than a general election for her. So David Drucker, I think I know what former Governor Christie is doing here, which is separating himself from the field with a great deal of emphasis separating himself from especially Governor DeSantis and to a lesser extent, Nikki Haley. What do you think he's doing there? Well I, you know, if you follow Christie on the trail, he talks about his position, his pro-life position, actually rather extensively and it's a pretty heartfelt discussion when he does it. But what he's trying to do, number one, is separate himself from Nikki Haley, who has the jump on him in New Hampshire and where, you know, he's put all of his eggs in the New Hampshire basket. So he's really appealing to independent voters in New Hampshire who can vote in the Republican primary or the Democratic primary for that matter and this, you know, this sort of libertarian leaning Republican electorate in New Hampshire and that's exactly what he's doing. I would add, number two, that he's being consistent with the Republican position over many decades, which is, Roe is bad law, it should be returned to the states for them to legislate and decide as they see fit. I'd say, number three, Nikki Haley has always said she would sign whatever could get through a 60-vote Senate, you know, plus a Republican House of Representatives. It's just that you're never going to see a 15-week ban or a 60-week ban get 60 votes in the Senate. It's not going to happen, so let's focus on consensus. And finally, Ron DeSantis has never said what he would do. We know what he did in Florida, but he's never actually come up with an exact position about what he would do as president, so he's trying to separate himself from those two candidates in that way. David, I've got to take a break. Can I hold you for one more segment or do you have to go out in the cold? What are we dealing with here? You know, Q, I have to go out in the cold. I wanted to talk to you. We had dinner last night. I had a son with a doctor's appointment. All right, we had dinner last night with a bunch of people and all they talked about was crime, crime, crime. We had talked about Trump and the Republicans, but the number one issue that came up was crime, crime, crime and what Republican is addressing that. I'm befuddled that Chris Christie is not running on crime as a former prosecutor. I just am. But we'll talk about that next week. David M. Drucker on X, the site formerly known as Twitter, with The Dispatch at thedispatch.com. He's their lead political reporter and he's always a great guest on The New York Show. All right, fascinating conversation there, courtesy our colleague, Shonali Basak, with CEO Ken Griffin from Citadel in Miami. I'm Joe Matthew in Washington, alongside Kaylee Lines, and this is Bloomberg Sound On, starting a bit late today. I guess it's the fastest hour in politics once again. Kaylee, it's great to see you. I could listen to him all day, whether you agree with him or not, he just has a way of kind of capturing you with the way he speaks. We covered a lot of ground there and was steeped in politics for a lot of the conversation as well. Yeah, a lot of fiscal questions. Of course, as we're having this funding debate here in Washington, Ken Griffin essentially saying that if you look at the market, it is telling us that we cannot run annual fiscal deficits in the magnitude that we're running. Then he went on to say that, look, we're in an election year, however, so it's very unlikely that fiscal policy is actually going to tighten because that's just politically really difficult. And of course, that's on the domestic side. He had a lot to say on geopolitics as well, Joe. That's for sure. We got into China, as you would expect. I was kind of taken by the Nikki Haley conversation. He sounds like he's warming up to the former governor of South Carolina, but we'll talk a lot more about it as we make our way through the day here on Bloomberg and through this hour with myself and Kaylee, because we've got news here, Kaylee, in just a couple of hours, there's going to be a vote on the house.

We Can't Diminish Ron DeSantis's Effect on Florida

"In the culture, made a difference in politics, made a difference in the economy, either anything else. I said she's George W. Bush in address, and of course the sycophants got very upset and they posted on it. So I took it and I Because did. that's what it is. So you have George Soros's Media Matters Nikki supporting Haley. What did you think about that? Let's talk about AMAC, the Association of Mature American Citizens. These are very difficult times. Everything is very, very difficult. When you go through a drive through, a fast food drive through, Mr. producer, through have you been one of those lately? You have two kids and a wife. It's almost $50. I don't blame the franchisees or the corporate. The food is unbelievably expensive. In some states, they've massively increased the minimum wage and the benefits you have to order. So the food is fast, but it's not that cheap anymore. And people used to use fast food as a way to get through hard times. So it's tough out there, as

Ron DeSantis Weighs in on Nikki Haley's Gubernatorial Record

"Bring it up if she does bring it up she's very defensive about it what do you make of that well look mark at the end of the day are you somebody that's producing results or are you just in office to bide time and my view was I sat when I down at the desk in the state capitol when I first took office as governor I looked around the office said I don't know what SOB is going to succeed me but they're not going to have anything to do because I'm taking all the meat off the bone I'm I'm not gonna waste any time I'm gonna get all this stuff I promised done and I've done that everything I promised I would do I have delivered on and these are very consequential things as you mentioned I think somebody like Nikki she's Haley running away from her record as governor because her main task as governor she saw it was to recruit investment from the Chinese Communist Party into South China she was the number one ranked governor at bringing in China into her state when she was governor and she actually South Carolina gave away mill land to the CCP five miles away from a military base for them to do a business venture there and that was very consistent she went to China with the World Economic Forum back in the day she took other junkets there and this was something she wrote a love letter to the ambassador when she was governor saying what a great friend China was so that's just that's very consistent that was her world view that was what she did now she's trying to say she's a completely different person on all that and she's trying to trying to run away from it she's also never gotten involved in fight a and actually fought on behalf of conservatives and won me for example we've lot of done different things in Florida like protect girls and women from having boys and men go into their bathrooms and locker rooms when she was governor of South Carolina she killed a bill that was being proposed that would have provided those protections and so this is just a pattern with kind of how she does things doesn't stand up when it matters is basically catering to the more liberal Republican donor class. now this Republican donor class is interesting because I was watching one billionaire on TV And it was bizarre sometimes I wonder how these guys get to be billionaires But that's but just me governor anyway first he said he supported Trump then he supported then he supported Tim Scott now he's supporting Nikki Haley isn't that kind of bizarre I mean do these billionaire donors not all them but these these what is it it's the the flavor of the day or they all now all the ruling class corporatists are they now and I'm I'm yes this gonna suggest is the case the ruling class rhino corporatists are now betting on Nikki Haley a lot of them are no well I think there's a couple things one I think the fact that a guy like me I'm not just

"Lots of channels. Nothing to watch. Especially if you're searching for the truth. It's time to interrupt your regularly scheduled programs with something actually worth watching. Salem News Channel. Straightforward, unfiltered, with in -depth insight and analysis from the greatest collection of conservative minds. Like Hugh Hewitt, Mike Gallagher, Sebastian Gorka, and more. Find truth. Watch 24 -7 on SNC .TV and on Local Now, Channel 525. Folks, welcome to The Eric Metaxas Show, sponsored by Legacy Precious Metals. There's never been a better time to invest in precious metals. Visit LegacyPMInvestments .com. That's LegacyPMInvestments .com. Welcome to The Eric Metaxas Show. Did you ever see the movie The Blob starring Steve McQueen? The blood curdling threat of The Blob. Well, way back when, Eric had a small part in that film, but they had to cut his scene because The Blob was supposed to eat him. But he kept spitting him out. Oh, the whole thing was just a disaster. Anyway, here's the guy who's not always that easy to digest. Eric Metaxas! Welcome to the show, folks, in the year of our Lord, 2023. I am still in Dallas. I can't explain it. I live in New York, yet I find myself in Dallas. Very happy to be here and happy to have as my guest for this hour, our friend Roger Stone. Roger, welcome back. Eric, it is always great to be with you. You're fun to talk to. That's like my greatest compliment because we can talk about very substantive things we do, but it's also fun to talk to you. I don't know where to start. How about if we start mocking tonight's debate? Can we do that? I think that's an excellent place to start because the debates for president who have declared against President Trump are debate might be, I will be down the street with President Donald J. Trump at a gigantic rally in Hialeah, Florida, which promises to be one of his biggest rallies of all time. Recent polls show, of course, that he is routing the sitting governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, right here in the state that both men call home. I feel very strongly, Eric, that it's time to end this charade. Trump is not leading by 10 points or 20 points or 30 points. He is leading in some places by as much as 60 points among the rank and file Republican primary and caucus goers across the country. This is his party. This is his nomination. This is his destiny. And these other candidates, frankly, are wasting time. They're wasting resources. And in the case of Governor DeSantis, he is now creating and providing talking points for Joe Biden in his harsh attacks on the man who single handedly is responsible for making him governor, which seems to me to be extraordinarily ungrateful at a minimum. I just want to put my cards on the table as a serious journalist, which I am not, that I am. Most people know that I'm a I'm a Nikki. I'm a Nikki Haley guy. And if you're if you look at the camera right now, folks, you can see that I'm a big I'm a big Nikki Haley guy. I believe in foreign wars. I believe in the deep state. And I just want to say I'm not down with this crazy mega stuff. In seriousness, all this the GOP debate tonight, I you know, it's hard for me not to mock it only because Trump is so far ahead in the polls. But you realize that what the people involved, maybe not all of them, but most of those on that debate stage are going to say is wait till Iowa. Wait till Iowa. Iowa is going to be a game changer. Oh, you'll see. You'll see. That's really. And you realize, Roger, that that genuinely speaking, they're they're hoping that everything changes and that there's going to be momentum that, you know, probably Governor DeSantis thinks that he will win in Iowa or do something to kind of change the narrative. I don't even remember. When does Iowa happen? When is one of the Iowa caucuses exactly? Iowa happens very early next year. But look, this is a situation in 1980 when I was for Ronald Reagan had a point lead in Iowa, but he took that lead for granted. He only visited a couple of times. He gave big picture, big event speeches. He didn't do much.

Nikki Haley Is a Liar

"So she's lying about that too and I can go down the list That's why the Wall Street Journal is slobbering all over her today because the Wall Street Journal is not a conservative editorial page. It's not leftist but it promotes Peggy Noonan and her ilk. I used to trash the Tea Party in 2010. It used to promote an amendment to the Constitution. Thou shalt shalt have open borders. Of course it doesn't apologize for that position in the past. It's called the Wall Street Journal, not the Main Street Journal. And she's being promoted by essentially three groups. The Republican establishment, Bush individuals as well as Democrats in the media and billionaire Republican donors who hate Donald Trump. when people talk about Nikki Haley, they talk about the superficial, how she responded to Ramaswami, what she said about Trump, what she said this, what she said. You notice she never runs on her record. She runs from her record. She didn't answer questions about the her close economic ties with Communist China.

"Turbulent times call for clear -headed insight that's hard to come by these days, especially on TV. That's where we come in. Salem News Channel has the greatest collection of conservative minds all in one place. People you know and trust, like Dennis Prager, Eric Metaxas, Charlie Kirk, and more. Unfiltered, unapologetic truth. Find what you're searching for at snc .tv and on Local Now Channel 525. I don't think he was on the beach till the break of dawn. He might have been in the spin room till the break of dawn. Will Smith. There are two reasons to play Will Smith. Number one, go into Miami. And the other is Nikki Haley almost gave us a Will Smith moment last night. Keep my daughter's name out your voice or words to that effect. Wow. Let me just hand you the talking stick. You were the guy who was there. How did it go for you? Your coverage was great. Before, after, just spot on and wonderful. Thank you, Mark. And it was quite an experience starting with a Chris Christie by the pool spotting earlier in the afternoon at the hotel. It is true. I can confirm he was not in a bathing suit because I think the only thing more challenging than Mike Gallagher in a bathing suit would be Governor Christie. Neither of that would go over very well with anybody in the vicinity. But he was there with his wife and his kids and his friends. And he was jovial. And I'm kind of glad he didn't go, you know, full, you know, hardcore, full -blown anti -Trump last night. But the whole thing was always fun to witness and experience up close and personal. In the spin room, as you know, I mean, that's where they bring the candidates in after the debate. And true to form, Ron DeSantis spoke to no one. He went right to NBC and that was it. Chris Christie didn't go in. But we had a chance to interview the guy that brought the heat, Vivek Ramaswamy. We sat down with him in the spin room and I'll replay that interview on the show today. And, you know, interesting takeaway. You either loved it or you hated it. And I'm intrigued by every individual's reaction to Vivek Ramaswamy going after the RNC, going after Ronna McDaniel, who I also interviewed in the spin room, going after Nikki Haley. I mean, I have a hunch I know how you land on this. Well, let's go case by case. Going after the media culture, awesome. Making the comment from the stage in an oblique way where still people know what you're talking about and says, you know, I don't know if liberal networks are going to do the best job of covering Republican debates. There's certainly a spotty history of that in the past. That's fine. But hey, hey, you, Kristen Welker, I'm asking you, you know, about Russia collusion. Dude, dude, no, just no. If, if I know that the base like, awesome. Yeah, me too. There's a part of me that did that as well. But to me, it's a time now where if you're on a debate stage, here's your job, make more people want you to be president. And first of all, the Tucker Carlson base wasn't watching last night. There are people banging on us right now for talking about it. You ought to be talking about the Trump rally and we will. So I think that was largely a misfire, even though the material was good. Okay. Strongly disagree with you and let me tell you why the room erupted in cheers. That wasn't Tucker Carlson's base in that auditorium last night. The crowd loved it. They ate it up. And Mark, I got to warn you, my friend, and I love you. I love you like a brother. When you're defending Kristen Welker or NBC, you might be on the wrong side of it. Did, did they, did you expect them to bury the candidates with January 6th nonsense, questions bombarded from the left? I kind of did. They did not do it. No, no, no. By and large, they kind of did okay. Don't get, don't get me wrong. We're saying two different things here. First of all, I thought the debate overall was terrific. I thought they did a very good job. It was substantive. They, Hugh Hewitt, our colleague did a terrific job. Of course, he got his shipbuilding question in there. You knew that was coming. Ten minutes of shipbuilding. I was a little bit surprised. He didn't ask if Alger Hiss was really a spy or not. But, but, but listen, and Hugh was magnificent. He, I was so proud of him. And of course he's our friend and colleague, and I got to catch up with him before and after the debate, but the vague wasn't going after last night's debate. The vague was going after them for what NBC did to Trump all through the Russia collusion hoax. The vague was calling the mainstream media out for being the mainstream media and Don got it. Mark, you ought to salute that. You ought to cheer for that. And I do, and I, and sure, sure. Yay. Absolutely. I got a thing for our candidates playing hard and playing smart. The vague came off as an ass in that moment, an ass we like, our ass, if you'll excuse me. But, but it's just, just, just, it's, it's smacked of desperation. Him going after, him going after Ronna McDaniel is more fair game because it's about, and him going, and okay, then the third, third of the case by case is going after Nikki on Ukraine forever war is great. That thing about the daughter on TikTok, how dumb can a smart guy get? But the floor is yours. Tell me what you're doing. Let's rewind because first of all, you buried the lead. You and Ronna McDaniel agree that he went, he was an ass because that's apparently what she said. There were reports that people in the crowd heard her call him an a -hole from, from the, from the audience and was livid at him. Again, Mark, I love you, buddy, but you got to look in the mirror. You're on, you're siding with Ronna McDaniel on this. Can I roll the tape back 15 seconds where I said him going after Ronna McDaniel is completely fair game. But your reaction to him is exactly the same as Ronna McDaniel's. So you might want to check yourself. Ronna's reaction to him was because he came after her. The thing that she's most upset about, I'm not upset with him at all. You're wrong. Ronna McDaniel's reaction was about the daughter thing, the TikTok thing. Okay. Oh, do you think it was a really, do you think it was a good idea? Are you ready to go all in and go, you go Vivek. Are you, did you love the moment where he invoked Nikki Haley's adult daughter? Yeah, she's 25 years old. She's fair game. Did you think that was a good debate moment? Of course I do. Of course I do. Of course it was a good moment. He's calling out another candidate for saying you talk the talk with TikTok. He's desperate and he knows he's not going to be president. He just desperately wants the clicks and desperate. And I like the guy. I really do like the guy. It doesn't sound like it. This is intriguing to me. But you know what? Because it was a time for grownups. It was a time for grownups. Nikki Haley was quite the grownup in many ways. And DeSantis was a grownup in many ways. Chris Christie surprisingly looked like a grownup in moments when he wasn't back on track. Was she a grownup when she called him scum? No. You think Nikki was a grownup when she said you were just scum? No. Come on. I mean, no. She's establishment. And I got, I'm sorry. I'm at a point now where I'll, let's get it all out on the table. I got no use for her. I got no use for, at this point, DeSantis. I mean, I'm at a point right now where I like the disruption and I love Trump. And I love the fact that Vivek, listen, all the things we supposedly love about Trump, you seem to not like about Vivek. You think only Trump can be the disruptor? It's, you know, it's weird. Trump has a disruptor skill set that Vivek thinks he has and he doesn't. And you mentioned Nikki, you've touched on a perfect thing. So there's Nikki who said at one point to Vivek, you're just scum, which I totally understood, but it still was jarring. It's like, ooh, ooh, ma 'am, you didn't need to do that. But, and I instantly heard back and say, yeah, but if Trump did it, it wouldn't have been a problem. Pretty true because that's Trump all the dang time. And it's kind of baked in. I think he's a smart guy. I think he's compelling. I think he's absolutely a disruptor. And by the way, he evoked the scum comment. He got to her, which is the point of a debate. He did exactly, he got under her skin and he rattled her. And that's why, and listen, I mean, again, and maybe I'm partial. He came right over to our booth afterwards. We spoke afterwards for a few minutes. Well, that could be part of it. That's why you're done with, DeSantis was awesome last night. You just hate that he didn't come talk to you. No, I say I'm done with him. I do hate that because he disrespects you and my audience. He disrespects people who listen to my show. I'm going to be very blunt here. DeSantis has blown the Mike Gallagher show off for the entire campaign. And it's a mistake. Incidentally, last night, he also blew off Newsmax. He blew off Univision. He blew off town hall. He didn't have any use for anybody in that spin room instead of trying to win over hearts and minds. And incidentally, a major donor, this Bigelow guy for the DeSantis campaign, $20 million for DeSantis Super PAC, he says now he's probably out. He's going with Trump. That's a huge, huge blow to the DeSantis campaign. The dogs don't like the food. I don't know what, and you're right, DeSantis, like he always has done last night. He's great, but it may not have mattered one bit. May not matter one bit. And that's what you said before the debate. Will it matter one bit? And I don't know. I mean, but he was great. He said all the right things. He does all the right things. He's very controlled, very measured. I promise when I'm offended that he won't give an interview to this show. I'm teasing. I'm totally teasing. But no, I promise why I don't like it. It's my audience. He's disrespecting the audience. And it's also just objectively, we'd like all of our candidates to be really, really smart. Trump is a genius. Trump, not just because he'd go on with you, but he'd go on with a bunch of other hosts. He gets into the mix, takes calls, mixes things up, gets into the back and forth. He is so comfortable in his own skin. And that's what you kind of want for our standard bearer. And DeSantis is smart. He's capable. His answers are good on a debate stage, but he doesn't have that yet. That total comfort in his own skin. And newsflash in terms of accessibility, I probably could have Trump on any day that ends in Y on the Mike Gallagher Show. He's willing to come on. He gives interviews. I mean, I used to say he'd go on the Weather Channel if he was invited. He goes where the people are, you know? And he's a man. He really is a man of the people. And he's willing to go on Mark Davis Show. He will give interviews left and right, and DeSantis does not. Now, maybe that speaks to his team. I don't know. I don't know who makes these decisions. It could be one of his aides, but it's just dumb, and it just frustrates me. I was intrigued. I did have a good candid conversation with Ronna McDaniel. Boy, a lot of people calling her out. Charlie Kirk yesterday went scorched earth just saying she needs to be replaced. I don't know. Is that fair? I think she's over -criticized at times. But then there was Frank Luntz, pollster Frank Luntz, who's smart a lot of the times except when he's not. He said, boy, Ronna McDaniel is the GOP's secret weapon, a great speaker and a great strategist. I said, you got that right? It's a secret so deep, nobody can see it. And the last couple of election cycles, the last couple of election cycles do not speak to genius strategy, the RNC. So I don't know what we wanted to do, more of or less of. I don't know, but I don't know who'd be better. I mean, maybe, maybe a Harmeet Dillon should have won that post. I don't know. Well, you know, you could make a case if you look at Tuesday and here we go again with another rotten night for the Republican party. No way around this, Mark. And some people would say, hey, the blame goes there. Now, Ronna, I asked her about it in the interview. Again, we're going to play all these interviews today on the show coming up, but she told me, look, Virginia's a federal entity. We can't, there's only so much we can do in a state. She touted her own achievements, but I get that criticism. I understand it because Mark, like it or not, we got walloped Tuesday. Virginia, the whole legislature flipped.

"Live or Memorex, that is the great Minnie Riperton. You were 15, Mike. Remember that on the radio? I do remember that. Loving you. The Tweety Birds in the background made it an easy song to make fun of. It seemed like a very shallow lyric to me. Loving you is easy because you're beautiful. I know. Is that really where you want to... That's it? I mean, how shallow and superficial are you? What if you got like a big old mole on your cheek? Bad skin. Dermatological. Anyway, the great Minnie Riperton would have been 76 today. Famous, famous daughter, do you know? The gal from Saturday Night Live? Yes, the wonder, wonderful comic actress Maya Rudolph. Maya Rudolph. I was forgetting her first name. Bridesmaids, dude. Oh my gosh. If you're ever in a bad mood, you rent bridesmaids. Just watch Bridesmaids. That's a little crass, a little crude, especially the bridal shop suite. Oh, it's happening. It's happening. It's happening. Look away. Look away. In the middle of the street with a digestive issue. Oh my goodness. Hey, listen, I've got digestive issues this morning after. I didn't know what my expectations were. They were not high. It's Ohio and you figure, well, maybe they're not up for baby killing, but they were. And I think that the weed vote, the legal pot vote brought out all the young stupid people and that's how you get your abortion advocacy in Ohio. Listen, let me just let you talk because as pro -lifers, we've got a lot of work to do. We have a lot of work to do and that's why tonight's debate is part of the process. We're in the spin room right now and I'm just getting ready for interesting dueling events. You've got Trump down the street in Hialeah. You have five candidates on this stage tonight and I hope that they bring this up. I hope they bring up the abortion problem that the Republican Party has and that's all anybody's talking about. What do you want them to say? Well, we have to say something differently because every single election has gone down in flames since Roe v. Wade was overturned. And we got a battle going on within the party and I want to give you a little preview tonight because I got a chance to visit with Hugh Hewitt last night. He gave me some tips about what to look for as he's been here in preparation. He's one of the moderators. Salem Media Group, our parent company, is the official radio partner along with NBC, Rumble, and the Republican Jewish Coalition for tonight's third GOP presidential debate and five candidates are going to be on that stage. One thing I know for sure, they're going to have a decidedly somber tone tonight. They're going to be serious. We know with Hamas and the war in Israel and, frankly, with the shellacking that the GOP took last night, particularly in Virginia, Republicans have a ton of work to do. And the abortion problem has to be dealt with. There's no way around it. You can stomp your feet and you can say, I'm a proud pro -life American and I'm not going to bend or you're going to never win another election again. Abortion is winning for the Democrats, Mark. Now, those of you who say I'm pro -life and I'm not going to give an inch, I respect it. I admire it. I wish I wish the world worked that way. I'm sickened to say this. America's in love with abortion in this country. Find somebody in your life to love you the way Democrats love abortion. And increasingly, non -ideological folks in the squishy, mushy middle, they just flip a coin and go, all of the things being equal. I want abortion. Right. That's where we have a lot of work to do. And brow beating those people isn't going to work anymore, Mark, sitting around calling them baby killers, et cetera, et cetera. No, it just isn't going to work. Well, no, but it is what the procedure is. But I don't ever want to antagonize people. And I know you're right. In fact, let me let you finish, because I just want to see if you're wanting our Republican field to simply be demonstrably less pro -life to say, you know what, maybe we do need to allow more abortions in the following way, because I don't – No, I think I really do believe it comes down to the messaging. I don't know that Republicans – first of all, millions and millions of dollars of outside money were poured into Ohio last night by radical abortionists who convinced women that you're losing a fundamental right if you vote no on this horrific, radical – I mean, abortion now in Ohio is legal literally to the moment of conception. And in fact, parents now – Moment of birth. Moment of birth, I mean. And incidentally, parents don't even have a say in a minor child's decision to abort a baby. Now, you've got to give an okay to get a tattoo in Ohio. Yeah, exactly. Get a Tylenol in your high school. That's right. But not to get an abortion. But we lost. We got thumped on this. We got thumped on this. And we've gotten thumped on it every single time, Mark. It's not a close call. Something isn't working and Democrats are going to embrace this going into 2024. Does that mean you become decidedly pro -life? Well, I think for starters, you change the messaging as best you can. But I'm afraid that the answer you're not going to want to hear is, yeah, probably so. In 10 seconds, I think you meant decidedly pro -choice. No. Decidedly – do we become decidedly less pro -life? Yeah, less pro -life. Yeah. Do we become decidedly less pro -life? And that's the horrific reality of – how many times is it going to have to happen, Mark? How many times are we going to say, well, we're losing another election. We've lost every single election on the abortion issue since Roe v. Wade was overturned. And Mark, with all due respect, I love you. It's not just Democrats. It's not just squishy Republicans. It's women. It's women voters who believe they are – that somehow this right that is enshrined in the Constitution – oh, and oh, by the way, it's not – is being taken from them. And it's not – we just – we're not going to win by wagging our fingers at the people who don't see the world. You and I aren't where the country is on this, Mark. We're not. We are where conservatives are. And so the question becomes – and by the way, everything you've said is true and plausible and supportable. So, as we look at a presidential election and some folks on a debate stage tonight in a country where now it is left to the states, what Ohio did last night is precisely the way America goes in post -Roe v. Wade America. That's what we said we wanted. And we knew full well that there would be states that did things that we liked and states that did things that we didn't. How about if the candidates we have – and it's kind of interesting. I don't know how pro -life Chris Christie is. I know DeSantis is. I think Nikki Haley is. I sure know Tim Scott is. I think Vivek is. So should they express their – maybe satisfaction is the wrong word – their acceptance of post -Roe v. Wade America, where states are going to do what they wish to do and Ohio can do what they wish to do, but that they are going to continue to be a voice and use their presidential bully pulpit to say that protecting life is a better way, while saying that the states can do what they want to do? Well, I'm not going to be president of Ohio. I'm not going to be president of Nevada. I'm not going to be – etc. Go ahead. But that's happening. That's happening. Let me tell you. Well, let me break it to you. Roe v. Wade being overturned meant that states get to decide what to do. States are deciding what to do and they're pro -abortion. Yes. They are. Every single state. There's not a state that's deciding in favor of the pro -life movement. You know, you can say, well, we're the good conservatives in this. Except, except, except heartbeat bills, heartbeat bills, heartbeat bills in Florida, in Texas, in other states. So – Well, but that's not legislation that conflicts with what is perceived to be a woman's right to choose an abortion being taken from her. You're so right. I mean, Glenn Youngkin has floated the 15 -week idea. And let's talk about Glenn Youngkin, incidentally, because there were high hopes for Virginia. And hey, Virginia, we got our butts kicked. I mean, they flipped the legislature. They didn't even – in fact, that wasn't even on the radar. They were hoping – we were hoping that Glenn Youngkin would lead a flip of the Senate over there. They lost it all. They lost the whole state legislature. Guess what? Glenn Youngkin is no longer going to be considered a candidate for president. I've got a buddy here – Well, he never was. Well, but keep an eye on him. He's not – Not this year. I mean, does he have a future? Of course he does. Look at him at 2028. But I have a guy here, Alfredo Ortiz, who's a dear friend, the CEO of Job Creators Network, and he had a theory. In fact, he's going to be with me tomorrow here in Miami. They're sponsoring our broadcast from the post -debate spin room. Alfredo said, if Virginia has a huge night last night, Glenn Youngkin will throw his hat in the ring as the 11th -hour savior of the Republican Party. Wouldn't matter. There's no room. That would be – It's too late. That would be – It's too late. It wouldn't matter. But anyway, he got shellacked. I mean, it was a bad night for him. It was a bad night for the GOP, and there's no way around it. Hey, Tate Reeves is still governor of Mississippi, yay. We kept one. We got that. We got that. We got some – and Joe Biden is still dropping like a rock in all the polls. And Trump is rocking and rolling and continues to lead in five swing states. So there's just data all over the place that are mixed as to what 2024 is going to look like. But you get an interesting view at five people who really want to catch Trump, and not a single one of them probably will. But it'll be fun to watch anyway. What do you think happens tonight? Yeah, it'll be kind of – What's the headline? What do you think? I'm going to keep an eye on Chris Christie because I'm just praying he starts screaming at his own audience and they start booing him. Exactly. And they start throwing orange peels and banana peels at him. I mean, that thing in Orlando, I played that clip. I'm sure you did, too. Sure. Oh, my. Have you ever seen a public – And what's the word again? I'm sorry. Your failure to embrace the truth is – Reprehensible. Thank you. I keep going deplorable, but that was Hillary, and we'd see how great that worked out for her. No, no. Reprehensible. Reprehensible. When you're talking to your own people – Yes. And calling them reprehensible – The people you're trying to get to vote for you, ideally. Not a good look. And I think – and interestingly, Hewitt and I last night, we had a great Salem party. And listen, we're very proud of this. I mean, say what you will about the meaninglessness. It's a big deal for us. Of course it is. For Salem to partner with NBC, and Hugh's going to be on that stage. Which means at least one conservative will be asking questions. Exactly. While Kristen Welker asks everybody about January 6th, at least Hugh will be there. And let me give you a scoop. Hugh is exhausted. Last night was the ninth rehearsal they had for this debate. I said nine? How do you rehearse? What do you do? You put staffers up at various lecterns and have ads just to kind of get through the drill? They put a couple hundred people in the audience. They test these guys because he – and he said Lester Holt and Kristen Welker have been just pros. He said Kristen's kind of the new kid on the block, but Lester's a veteran journalist. But they've got to be ready for everything. I mean, Hugh's ready for eruptions from the audience and how do you handle that and how do you interact. Anyway, they've had nine rehearsals for tonight's debate. And also, Hugh gave me a scoop. He said, watch DeSantis' performance. He has just hired fairly recently one of the best debate preparers in the business. I don't – I forgot the guy's name. I'll try to get it. I think it's Brad. I could not care less. Well, I know. But it's – Binders don't matter. Prep doesn't matter. DeSantis is DeSantis and he's wonderful. He's not Trump. DeSantis' worst problem is that Trump exists. I'll never forget the caller or the person who tweeted or something said that the only problem with DeSantis is he was not the best president of my lifetime. And Trump was. Trump exists. There's nothing the matter with DeSantis. There's nothing wrong with Nikki Haley except she's the queen of forever war. You heard Nikki Haley the other day saying the people who will abandon Ukraine are the people who will give up on Israel. Shut up, man. That's not smart. That's not a smart thing. But I can't wait. I know it may not matter at all. It's half the interest if Trump were there. Trump will be there down the road in Hialeah, you said, right? Heavily Cuban -American population there. That's going to be fun. And he's loved in Hialeah. Well, we'll be in the Spin Room tonight beginning about 6 p .m. Central Time. We'll have pre -debate coverage. Let's watch you. Let's watch you. Tell everybody how to watch you. Well, listen to us on the radio. I'm pretty sure we'll be on AM 660 The Answer tonight. As the radio partners, we're going to be here at 6 p .m. prior to the debate. The debate will be aired live and then I'll be in the Spin Room post -debate, hopefully talking to all the candidates or many of them in the Spin Room here. And you could also watch us on Salem News Channel pre - and post -debate. So it's going to be a big night, you know? And we're ready to go. And then I'll be back tomorrow here in Miami with you to wrap everything up. Is that room? Because it's funny, we've all done conventions, like convention coverage and the entire week of doing broadcasting from a convention. And the morning after the convention is like done, you and I still have shows to do. But all you can hear is the pipes and the drapes and just the clang, clang. I will not be here. As the trucks are off. But what in the world is that room, that beautiful room you're in? I won't know. It's beautiful now. It'll be rock and roll and post -debate. What's that thing? Are you just going to be run over by workers and forklifts tomorrow? I won't know because I'm not going to be here. I'll be at Salem, Miami. I'm going to be a few miles away at a nice comfy radio studio. There you go. We'll be at the Salem Radio Miami studio. Excellent. That's a very smart decision. I'll see you tomorrow, my friend. Here we go. We're ready for you. It's a big day and night of Mike. Can't wait for his show. The next up, the first thing you need to consume is Mike's own radio program. And that's at 10. Soon as we're done. On 660 AM. The answer. Hurry into the Ram Black Friday sales event for great deals on the trucks that give you all the power you need and all the luxury you could ask for. This is your source for breaking news and what to make of it all. This is The Mike Gallagher Show. He's a nice guy. If you don't like Mike Johnson, you don't like border colonies or golden retrievers. I am a hard no on any funding for Gaza until every American hostage is home. When I'm president, they'll be on life support because we're going to get rid of the 87 ,000 IRS agents. Now, from the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike Gallagher. I walk into the studios today and I get a text from Chris in Orlando, Florida, saying, Mike, if the boot controversy doesn't end Ron DeSantis' chances, his interview on MSNBC this morning surely will. He fell right in line and was the perfect patsy for them. I wonder what he said on MSNBC this morning. I wonder if anybody really cares about the boots. Who cares about the boots? My goodness, they're going on like this is the biggest controversy since Watergate. The boots. I saw an article in Politico. Politico is supposed to be a serious publication. Three are experts maintaining that he's got lifts in his boots. Three. Not one. Not two. But three. That's Politico? I mean, I get it when it's a late night comic. I understand people like Stephen Colbert making fun of Ron DeSantis. They're going to go after any Republican for anything. And there's a part of me that thinks they really want Trump. Anyway, they don't like DeSantis because he's too serious. He's a serious guy. Here's Stephen Colbert last night on The Late Show on CBS. And if you haven't followed this, I mean, I guess DeSantis likes cowboy boots. So he wears cowboy boots all the time. And I've seen videos. Admittedly, he walks a little awkwardly. I'm trying to be generous here and I don't want to pile on, but I admit there's one video. Maybe it was AI. Maybe it was artificial intelligence that made it look like he's walking in a peculiar way. But it looks like he's having a hard time, like, walking in those boots. That, to me, is more significant than whether or not he's actually, whether he's got lifts. He's 5 '11", he said. I don't know. Is he short? Who cares? Who really cares if he's short or tall? I don't know why that's a factor. Here's Stephen Colbert last night having some fun. Hope everybody had fun out last night. It was Halloween. And the one thing I love, you see this sometimes, the next day, you'll see some of the little ones still in their costumes. I saw, isn't that great? I saw this cute little fella, saw this cute little fella going around today in adorable cowboy boots. What was his name? Governor Ron DeSantis. You see, just a little shaver, just a little shaver of a guy. Just so, like, I'm a cowboy. And so fun, just so fun, having a good time. You see, DeSantis wears only cowboy boots. And here's the thing, cowboy boots, they're great. If you're a cowboy. If you're the governor of Florida, you look like a dork. Nobody believes he's roping doggies in Tampa. Nobody believes. Well, I guess, you know, okay. I don't know. I mean, and it's everywhere. Nikki Haley got in on it. Nikki Haley compared DeSantis' cowboy boots to her high heels. I mean, I cannot believe I'm asking you about DeSantis and the cowboy boots. But I've got a ton, a ton of people writing me saying he's done. It's over. And I'm thinking, surely, whether or not he wears lifts in his cowboy boots or whatever isn't going to be the determining factor as to whether he's the nominee in 2024. Wait till Trump gets a hold of this. I mean, he's busy in a courtroom, but, you know, I'm sure he's going to weigh in. I don't see Donald Trump in cowboy boots, do you? So, you know, all these guys, they have a look, right? Glenn Youngkin wears the vests, and I guess DeSantis wears the cowboy boots, although I've seen him with the vest as well. Here was Nikki Haley last night on Comedy Central. She was on The Daily Show, of all places, trying to expand her reach, I guess, to potential voters. Here she is making fun of Ron DeSantis and the cowboy boots. My last question, are you wearing higher heels than Ron DeSantis next week at the debate so you can look taller than him on the stage? I don't know. We'll have to figure that out. I can tell you, I've always talked about my high heels. I've never, you know, hid that from anybody. I've always said don't wear them if you can't run in them, so we'll see if he can run in them. Now, by the way, is that Charlamagne the God? What is Charlamagne the God doing on The Daily Show? Is he hosting The Daily Show? See, I don't even follow any of this stuff at night. These people are so unfunny to me. Stephen Colbert makes my teeth itch. They're not funny. All they are are hacks and Democrat activists, and they're kind of annoying.

Watch 24 -7 on SNC .TV and on Local Now, Channel 525. The Mike Gallagher Show. For what purpose does a gentleman from Louisiana seek recognition? Mr. Speaker. That is a nice ring to it, by the way. Mr. Speaker, I offer a privileged resolution to notify the Senate of the election of Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House of Representatives and ask for its immediate consideration. In the ReliefFactor .com studios, here's Mike. I saw a TV commercial last night. Remember that kid on that funny TV show, was it Malcolm in the Middle? Wasn't his name Frankie something? Isn't Frankie Muniz or Muniz? And he's doing a commercial for Hair Club for Men. He's like a race car driver now. I guess he races cars. And I just saw about 15 seconds of it. And evidently, he's a Hair Club for Men. You know, of all the things I'm trying to get my life together in my 60s, I've lost a bunch of weight. I'm trying to work out every day. I'm on the bike. I'm doing my thing. I'm not an attractive person. I don't claim to be. If you watch me on Sale & News Channel, you can confirm. I'm not really a very handsome guy. I don't think I would ever be mistaken for a model. But I would love to lose the bald spot. I hate the bald spot. Years ago, I was going up the stairs and Bonnie Simmons was a secretary, was an assistant in our Salem, Dallas offices. And she was up on the balcony. She looked down at me and she said, look at that. She was British. Look at that bald spot. You look like Friar Tuck. And then I insulted her very badly because I was hurt. I would love to get rid of the bald spot. I don't think you can get rid of a bald spot. You can work on thinning hair. I don't think the bald spot, I don't think there's much they can do back there. But I wonder if, I mean, plugs and all that, that would be rough. Is that what Hair Club is? Or hair growth? Tracy, see if you can find out what Frankie is doing. And I appreciate the text message I just got from Minnesota. I listen to you on the radio and you sound like a handsome devil. That's true. On radio, I'm very handsome. On TV, I'm just a schlubby looking guy. You know who I look like? I don't know why I'm in such a good mood. You know who I look like in person and this is not something to brag about? The late, great Mel Torme. Now, he was amazing. He was a great talent, right? Wrote, you know, chestnuts, roasting, but he looked kind of like a frog. And that's who I look like. If you don't believe me, Google Mel Torme and then look at a picture of me and embarrassingly, that's who I most look like. That's the celebrity I look the most like, Mel Torme. But anyway, if I could get rid of this bald spot somehow, maybe I could – I'm not going to wear a toupee, never going to dye my hair, a lot of gray, getting old and not for sissies. Hey, being in the good mood I'm in, I'm going to go out on a limb and I'm going to say something that's probably going to get me in trouble, particularly with Ron DeSantis supporters. But I'm going to say it anyway. I think Nikki Haley is going to surpass Ron DeSantis. I think Governor Nikki Haley is the one to watch. She is surging. She's now ahead of DeSantis in New Hampshire. She's now tied for second with DeSantis in Iowa. I think Nikki Haley is carving out a lane that might just give her the path to second place. Now, I don't know that anybody is going to overtake President Trump. But then again, you never know what's going to happen with anything. You never know what's going to happen with anybody or anything. And Nikki Haley, The Daily Beast, Matt Lewis over The Daily Beast had an analysis. Here's why Nikki Haley is gaining in the polls and Ron DeSantis is not. She's now tied with DeSantis for second in Iowa according to a new Des Moines Register NBC News MediaCom Iowa poll. More importantly, the trend lines show DeSantis down three points and Haley up 10 points since August. What's more, Haley has already surpassed DeSantis in New Hampshire. She's now in second place in the first in the nation primary. She is emerging as the alternative to Donald Trump, at least in part because she's more likable than DeSantis. Now, that's according to The Daily Beast. I don't know, is she more likable than – frankly, the emerging narrative is that anybody is more likable than Ron DeSantis. I don't think of Ron DeSantis as likable or unlikable. He's kind of a policy guy. He's smart. He's effective. He's accomplished. He's really – he's good. There's nothing wrong with Ron DeSantis except he's not Donald Trump. But a lot of people are convinced that Ron DeSantis is still the alternative. I don't know. I don't know the answer to this. I don't know. But The Daily Beast's Matt Lewis writes that Nikki Haley has not made the mistake that Ron DeSantis made. He asserts that Ron DeSantis chose a lane that was already taken. Instead of assembling a coalition of Reagan conservatives who never liked Trump and former Trumpers who are ready to move on, Ron DeSantis chose to ignore or offend the former and focus on attracting current Trumpers who have no interest in quitting the Donald. She chose a lane that went after Trump pretty rigidly. She criticized Trump for adding $8 trillion to our debt. She called him the most disliked politician in America. And Matt Lewis' analysis is her strategy worked. As recently as this spring, Ron DeSantis looked like the best positioned Republican to take on Trump. Haley seemed as unlikely to catch fire as Mike Pence who, as we know, dropped out of the race this past weekend. Today, he writes, Haley is the one to watch while Ron DeSantis' star seems to be fading. Do you agree with that? Now, the team gave me a clip that went viral. Ron DeSantis went on a very popular podcast with a guy named Patrick Bet -David, this PBD podcast. And it's getting a lot of traction. It's a very popular podcast. I hear a lot of people say that they're engaging in this podcast that this guy does. And it's one of those teams, I don't know, it's called the PBD podcast. And the guy's name is Patrick Bet -David. And people took this clip and ran with it and said, this Patrick Bet -David has single -handedly ended Ron DeSantis' candidacy. Now, that's hyperbolic and that's exaggeration to be sure. But it is fair to, and I was wondering about this. I really debated this. Driving into work this morning, I thought, should I play this clip or not? I don't want to embarrass Ron DeSantis. I don't want to attack him. I'm not anti -DeSantis. I'm not anti -Republican. We desperately need to defeat the Democrats in 2024. I'm convinced the Democrat we're going to have to beat is Gavin Newsom. Incidentally, did you see Newsom over in China? What the heck's the California governor doing kissing up to Xi in China? Well, he wants to run for president. He thinks he's going to be the Democrat nominee. And I believe he very well could be. Now, I'm going to play this clip for you against my better judgment. Tracy's convincing me we should play it just so people can hear what people are talking about on social media. DeSantis is terribly embarrassed, I'm sure, by this. And he is very rigid in controlling his media interviews. Trust me, I've got some personal experience in that field. Here's Governor DeSantis on this very popular podcast that has already been viewed now millions and millions of times. DeSantis wears cowboy boots a lot. And his critics make fun of his penchant for cowboy boots. And they suggest that the reason he's wearing boots is that he's got lifts in them because he's short. So this guy, this Patrick Bet -David goes right at him on the issue of cowboy boots. Again, not a very comfortable place for Governor DeSantis to be. I thought I'd share it with you anyway. I know you were on, what do you call it? What was it? Bill Maher. And Bill Maher talked about the boots. I've seen you walk with these boots. Go ahead and play this clip. This on TikTok went viral. It doesn't have a million views. It doesn't have, you know, 10 million views. This thing's got 1 .2 million likes. And some people are wondering... They've not shown this to you. Okay, what they're trying to say with this is that in your boots, you have heels. No, no, no. Those are just standard off the rack, Lucchese. How tall are you Governor? 5 '11. Okay. Why don't you wear tennis shoes and dress shoes? I do wear tennis shoes when I work out. Okay, I got a gift for you. I'd love for you to wear, okay, I shop at Ferragamo. I don't accept gifts. I can't accept it. I'm sorry. I mean, it was just a really awkward, cringey moment. Governor DeSantis has a look on his face like, how did I get myself in this position? And it probably didn't do him any favors to go on the PBD podcast because that guy clearly just wanted to embarrass Ron DeSantis. And I just keep wondering about people like Trump. I don't know that Trump would ever put himself in that position. He'd go right back at the guy and attack him. That's not who DeSantis is. DeSantis is a very serious guy. And I suppose the narrative that has emerged is that Governor DeSantis isn't particularly likable. And if you believe this Daily Beast analysis by Matt Davis, Nikki Haley is. She is more likable. Now, a lot of text messages coming in already on the MyPillow text line and I want to open up our phone lines. The PHD weight loss phone number is 800 -655 -MIKE. And I want you to give me your thoughts about Nikki Haley getting the momentum she's getting. Do you agree with me that she's the one to watch right now? Here's a text from Maryland. Mike, I hope you and your audience does a deep dive into this before anyone dares to support Nikki Haley. The last thing we need is another globalist in the White House. South Carolina from the Upstate. Mike, the problem with Ron DeSantis is his establishment Republican donors and their endorsement. And finally, from Florida, from Orlando, Nikki Haley wants to bring Palestinians here. She's a neocon supreme. She comes off as bitchy, too. Bitchy. Hmm. Does she? What do you think? 800 -655 -MIKE. That last debate, I mean, she got real shrill. She went nuts on Vivek Ramaswamy. And I thought, if anybody thinks she's likable, think again. But again, I hate to criticize her. She might be the nominee. Let's find out. 1 -800 -655 -MIKE. Give me your take on Nikki Haley surging and on Ron DeSantis fading. Is she the one to watch? "At Disney. She offered to take action to South Carolina. She undermined him completely. She seems to forget she was the ambassador United to Nations the under Donald Trump. The policies she espoused about Israel were his policies, not her policies. She may agree with them, but she wasn't president. And what you do as an ambassador to the UN is you give speeches. And that's okay. We had a great ambassador to the UN when I worked in the Reagan administration, Jean Kirkpatrick. Now she could give a speech. So I'm not diminishing her speeches. But in terms of policy, that was the Trump policy. Haley And just trashes Trump all the time. She even goes so far as to say that she doesn't think he'd be as pro -Israel as he may have been or may have been perceived. That's a shot below the belt, don't you think, America? Now, say what you will, I can tell you 20

"Shield. I don't know where he comes up with this stuff. It really doesn't matter to me. Let me be as clear as I can. Donald Trump is not an isolationist. He took out Soleimani. Rama Swami would never have done that. He took out Baghdad. Rama Swami would never have done that. He set loose the Abraham Accords. There's nothing Rama Swami has said that would indicate any ability to do that. I just point that I also have something to say about Nikki Haley after the bottom of the hour too. We'll be right back I didn't see coming. it Life can be so unpredictable. After losing my dad it made me think about my family if something were to happen to me. The mortgage, car payments and all the other bills. Even things like our annual summer vacation would be out of reach. I had heard about life insurance through Ethos and how easy it was to get coverage. They were right. I knew it was time to stop putting it off and get life insurance right now. I got on my computer and went to EthosLife .com. In just 10 minutes I was covered and boom family protected. If he decides that he's going to run, would that preclude any sort of run that you would possibly make yourself? I would not run as president Trump. What I would not run if president Trump were running in 2024. Oh my gosh, a master Haley doesn't know the Internet is forever if president Trump trust her who can trust her allegedly tomorrow you have a piece coming out of town hall dot com. Can you give our 3 million list is a little sneaky little peek about your take on Nikki Hades strange surprising announcement colonel Kaye. Well, it's going to be called noted Nikki Harris, the Kamala Harris of the Republican Party. And the nicest thing I say about her is that she's a mediocrity. Look, the problem with Nikki Haley is no one trusts her to be conservative. And when you catch her on TV, making a commitment. Now look, I don't expect politicians to be rigorously honest. I'm a realistic cat. But, you know, if you line to my face about one thing, I got a jury instruction around here somewhere that says, if someone's. Intentionally deceptive about one thing, you may consider that they may be intentionally deceptive about many things or all. And that is not called a fact pattern council. Yes. Look, the hit on Nikki Hale is no one trusts her to get out there and promote America first agenda. In fact, I think she is, I think she's on the cutting edge of 2005. Have you seen her hacky political action? I swear, it's something like the eagle forum for families and eagles and freedom and the flag and also eagles. It's just like the most basic consultant. This is what those conservatives will eat up. What the flag in the name. But also the ads. The ad that she launched on Tuesday was like, it was like agonizing. You know NPR, everybody you can't be on NPR unless you actually have valium flowing in your blood. That's the way it was like somebody from NPR was given more value and it was like the most uninspiring this is a PSA yes, I'm America, vote for it. It was like, I'm not trying to be, you know, it's night here. It was like, this is supposed to excite people? No, she deserves mockery and we need to mock people who are not cutting it so that they will do better. Look, she's the kind of person who goes, I love America and the flag and I don't care who that offends. You know, it's like, stop making me. You know, stop trying to stop trying to treat me like I'm an idiot. Because I'm not the idiot. I'm not the guy who's going to waste tens of millions of dollars on a presidential campaign that she will never win. Yeah, but those consultants will make a lot of money as they always do. Just one last thing and we'll move on. Here's a photograph of Nikki Haley taking just after she left the Trump administration as a member of the cabinet because yes, the UN ambassadorship is a member of the is a member of the cabinet. There's Nikki Haley with a massive green standing next to her body. Oh, who's that? "For a strong America. For a proud American, I am running for president of the United States. Former South Carolina governor Nikki Haley giving her formal announcement speech as a new presidential candidate in the race for The White House. Nikki Haley's entrance into the 2024 race creates a whole new phase now. And in listening to her remarks today, you could hear her sort of tick through critical items. She was sort of checking boxes, both in terms of appealing to the Republican primary base and in an attempt to make a broader appeal to a general election audience, which is ultimately what she would be seeking if indeed she's the nominee and running against Joe Biden. She focused on both domestic policy and foreign policy, she of course has a contrast message with Biden, but also a prescription of solutions of her own or at least a vision and she went heavy on biography and that argument for a new generation of political leadership. I have always had a deep belief in America. But I know America is better than all the division and distractions that we have today. We're ready. Ready to move past the stale ideas and faded names of the past. And we are more than ready for a new generation to lead us into the future. This was how she opened the speech. It was with that generational argument, the 51 year old Haley, making the case that it is time to rid the country of political leadership from yesteryear and put forth political leadership for tomorrow. And while she made sure to note in her speech that she does not believe in identity politics, she certainly leaned heavily into her personal narrative, her personal biography, and of course that includes being the first woman of color to seek the Republican Party nomination as a major candidate. I stand before you as the daughter of immigrants. As the proud wife of a combat veteran, and as the mom of two amazing children, I've served as governor of the great state of South Carolina. And as America's ambassador to the United Nations. And I'm just getting started. Haley clearly saw an opportunity here to offer up some red meat to the Republican base. You would expect that from someone launching their campaign seeking the Republican presidential nomination, she talked broadly about sort of the battles against wokeism in our culture and this notion as she described it a self loathing that has swept the United States. It's in the classroom. The board room and the back rooms of government. Every day we're told America is flawed. Rotten and full of hate. Nothing could be further from the truth. And take it from me, the first minority female governor in history, America is not a racist country. Again, Haley uses the term self loathing in the speech as some negative force that she believes is permeating American culture these days under the auspices of democratic leadership in The White House. Here's how she frames it. This self loathing is a virus more dangerous than any pandemic. It's a system of a lack of pride in our country and a lack of trust in our leaders. And it ignores the values that have sustained America since our founding. My purpose is to save our country from the downward spiral of socialism and defeatism. I aim to move America upward toward freedom and strength. Now, that generational argument she's making, and she knows this, cuts two ways, right? There's the argument that she's running against ultimately Joe Biden, if she's successful, who's the oldest person to serve as president of the United States. But let's be clear, folks. Donald Trump is 76 years old. And she knows without mentioning her former boss and her only rival at the moment in the race. That the argument against someone with advanced years, also applies to mister Trump. In the America I see the permanent politician will finally retire. We'll have term limits for Congress. And mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over 75 years old. Hailey

"She been up to since? Since Haley left the ambassadorship she has been campaigning around the country building her personal brand. It's worth noting that she initially said she was not going to run against former president Trump if he decided to run. I would not run if president Trump ran. And over the course of the past couple of years, she has told us that she was thinking about it pondering it deciding what to do. And in the meantime, she's been going around the country, campaigning for other candidates. Do we know what her relationship with Trump is like right now? She apparently called him to let him know that she was going to announce she was running. He basically said, you do you. He called me the other day. To talk to me at the time for a little bit. But I said, look, you know, go buy your heart if you want to run. It seems as if maybe it's not quite as hostile if not warm and fuzzy, but you know, he didn't jump onto Twitter and start blasting her right away. We're interesting because he might have. Jennifer, let me ask you a last question. When a woman runs for president in this country and people don't think she can win. For whatever reason, you will start to hear talk about, well, she knows she can't win. She's running for vice president. Do you think Nikki Haley is really running to win the presidency? I do. I do. I just don't see her as someone who's running to be vice president. She's very much someone who is of the mind that, you know, women should run for office or run for whatever it is that's meaningful to them as women and expect to win. So for her to go presenting to other women, you should run, but really you just want something lesser or you would take something lesser in the men are assumed to get the number one position. That's just really not her messaging that's not the way she's presented herself at all. It's not to say she wouldn't accept that later if that's becomes clear. That's the best she's likely to do. But I don't see her running position right out of the gate. Jennifer berry hawes of ProPublica also a longtime reporter for the post and courier in Charleston SC. Coming up next the Republican establishments theory of everything. No, their theory of how they're going to win the presidency in 2024, Andrew prokop will explain the plan. It's today explained abnormal king Andrew prokop of vox, so Nikki Haley has announced she is running to be the Republican nominee, Donald Trump has already announced, and so it will just be those two, right? No, not exactly. There is expected to be a veritable parade of other contenders joining the race. So the most conversation right now is about Florida governor Ron DeSantis. We fight the woke in the legislature. We fight the woke in the schools. He's been looming over the race. To a significant extent. Florida is where wolf goes to die. Donors and Republican power players expect him to announce a campaign, perhaps this spring. But there's also another group of people in the Niki Haley category, people who are somewhat notable, not quite viewed as formidable challengers to Trump. Just yet, but they're going to try their luck. They include actually another politician from South Carolina, senator Tim Scott. Gases high electricity aside, eggs in California is almost $10. We have to do better. We deserve better. There are the governors, Larry Hogan of Maryland, Chris sununu of New Hampshire, Glenn youngkin, of Virginia. We have runaway crime in our neighborhoods and they demean and demoralize police. We have chaos in the world and they make America weaker. Then there's another former Trump administration official, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Every day was a privilege to serve. I was the Secretary of State for a thousand days. I wasn't about to give up one single second of it to focus on anything but doing my duty to the country. And there is the former vice president Mike Pence. I've sought to practice a kind of politics that reflects, I think, the civility and respect the American people show one another. And if we choose to run, we won't run against anyone. And there could be more. You've been reporting Andrew on what big donors are doing, where they're putting their dollars, whom they are giving their attention to. Which big donors have you been looking at? So the really big Republican power players are the network of conservative groups that was started by the Koch brothers now just Charles Koch because his brother David passed away and also the anti tax group, the club for growth. These are organizations that play in electoral politics to the tune of spending tens or hundreds of millions of dollars. And so they can make a big impact. And right now, the word is that both of them are going to try to get someone who is not named Donald Trump to be the 2024 Republican nominee. Oh, okay. So before we get to who might be, is this a change for either of those groups either Coke or the club for growth? Who were they backing in 2016? Coke stayed neutral in 2016. He was never a big fan of Trump because Coke is more from the libertarian tradition of the Republican Party. And he didn't like Trump's skepticism towards free trade policy and other entitlement cuts in other traditional economically conservative positions. And the club for growth, they endorsed Ted Cruz in 2016, but pretty late in late March. So they did not intervene to early last time. Do they have a plan to do things differently this time? And what are they going to do differently to get what they want? So I don't know their specific plans and what exactly they will do. But I do know that there is a theory that's in many elite Republican circles about what went wrong in 2016. They have an understanding that mistakes were made on their parts and they believe that Trump won because there were too many candidates in the race in 2016. Someday, we will have a Republican presidential FrontRunner. Someday. That we're splitting the support of anti Trump voters and that the anti Trump faction in the party and among the elites who were most party elites last time, they failed to consolidate early enough around one challenger to Trump. Look at this national quinnipiac poll. 5 candidates at 10% Jeb Bush won the governor Huckabee's and a Rubio, governor walker, Ben Carson, no FrontRunner. So in this telling, Trump just kept on winning primaries and caucuses with 33% of the vote. 35% of the vote. And then this winning helped make him look more like a winner and get more support while his opponents remain divided and in the end he just kind of steamroller to the nomination that way. Please clap. Please, please, please, please. The Republican establishment has an interesting thesis which is in 2016, the place where we messed up was we just had too many people in the primary. And that is why Donald Trump won. Does your analysis bear this out? Do you agree with them? I don't agree with this. Huh. My read is that what the 2016 primary show is that the party elites are far more limited in their sway over the Republican voters than was generally believed that there were, in fact, many attacks on Donald Trump, there was a lot of criticism about Donald Trump. Fox News at various points tried to criticize Trump harshly and to convince his viewers that he was not a reliable Republican that he would undesirable

"We're back with miss Nikki green. Nikki, you want to get down with OPP and why? Yeah, I thought one of the cool things that I had heard on a couple of other people's podcasts or even writers that I was following on medium is just giving a shout out to someone else that's inspiring you as a creative artist. And so I was listening to a different podcast to get a better understanding what was I missing, what kind of did I like, format wise, guest wise, et cetera. So I thought of this concept of, I'm gonna do an episode, OPP, where I did a shout out to other people's podcasts. That were inspiring me. But I also know I'm on a circuit of trying to talk on other people's podcasts once, so I can see it live. What is your process like? How are you as a host? And it gives me exposure to their show as well because then I'll listen to a few of their shows. Make sure it's a good fit to match audiences. And I met a lot of cool people at podcast movement. So that was sponsored that just be able to do podcast swaps with people. I actually met in person, not just on Zoom. So there's a lot of good takeaways with you doing other people's podcasts. There was a couple things. One is that you are basically learning and getting ideas and the other one is you're basically hacking other people's networks where you're able to get in front of a few of their listeners and maybe be able to bring them over to your podcast. And I like that both. You were able to say, what do I like, what don't I like? What are they doing that I'm not doing? What are their processes? What makes it easier on them? And if I can throw out one additional benefit to OPP, because you mentioned a ton, there is an interesting thing that happens when you share listeners from other podcasts. When their podcast, somebody else is listening to their podcast, it actually puts you next to them. And so it says to their listeners, you might also like Nicki Greene's podcast. And so that's a huge hack. The more you get to be on other people's shows. And if you can convert a couple of their listeners to yours, now the algorithms for Apple podcasts are actually going to be promoting you more. So I thought that was another really good one..

"Do ten? Would you do one or would you do zero? Yeah, I'd probably do about one minute a one. I learned it just really wasn't my forte. But I've done this throughout my career too, is I never wanted anyone on my team to feel like a task was beneath me. That it's sometimes if you don't know how complicated it is, you also don't know what you're asking someone else to do. So I still think there's a benefit to understanding the very basics. So you don't go above and beyond and start saying, okay, well, I want 15 different edits and 5 different songs. And you start to get to a level of complexity where it's taking them to edit one episode, get to some realistic, but specialize. The specialty I have is talking. It's hosting. It's being here as the voice. I don't need to also spend my time doing that. I need to grow my business in other ways. So that's so good. One of the advice that I'd say to people all the time is you want to focus. I love how you put it. It's even better than what I always say. You focus on the thing, but you mentioned the word specialize, specialize. So if you are a speaker and for example, Nikki, this isn't a bash on you. At all. But if you're a speaker and like a counting effing sucks and you're like, I do not want to do accounting. I don't like accounting. It's not my forte. I might make mistakes. It takes me 7 hours to figure out one balance sheet. Then you need to have a bookkeeper and accountant. You need to specialize. You need to get out of all of the roles wearing all of the hats and allow somebody who's much better than you at that task. And the same thing goes with editing a podcast. There are people out there that definitely say, I want to edit my own..

So I still think there's a benefit to understanding the very basics. So you don't go above and beyond. Most hosts never achieve the results they hoped for. They're falling short on listenership and monetization, meaning their message isn't being heard, and their show ends up costing them money. This podcast was created to help you grow your listenership and make money while you're at it. Get ready to take notes. Here's your host, Adam Adams. Welcome back to the podcast on podcasting. It's your host anime Adams, and I'm joined today with Nikki green, who has spent, I think over a decade she can correct me if I'm wrong, but she's spent quite a while in Fortune 500 companies and right now she teaches and coaches those who are wanting to join. Top 500 companies, right? Those people who are graduating college and getting ready to move into there. And so she created this podcast, the podcast name is called stand up and stand out, which helps her avatar, those people that are going through college and wanting to have a really nice career to be able to provide for their families. She supports them and she does it through her podcast. Again, that stand up and stand out, easily scroll down right now and you can be able to see that link. So Nikki's on with me. So what I'm going to do is Nikki, I want to talk a little bit about your podcast. Stand up and stand out. The first thing that I know is that you're about 6 months in. And I love that because you are a little closer to some of those lessons learned than somebody who might have been doing this for three or four years. So you're really going to be able to speak to our listener who might be just about to start a podcast. And it really what I want to talk about first is, yes, you launched it 6 months ago as we record, but I wonder like, when did you think to yourself for the first time, I want to have a podcast. I might need to have a podcast. A podcast would help my business or I want to give back or somebody first told you, Nikki, you got to be a podcast host. So when was that? Yeah, well, like you said, I've been living under a corporate rock for about the past 20 years. So I haven't had much time to listen to podcasts. I heard a lot about them..

We also talked about the few things that you could do in order to make sure that you do better at podcasting and gave a 6 things. I'm not even going to go over them. They're already in the show notes. And the listener hopefully took great notes. You talked about your vision where you're going to go with this and you have a big vision. You have good aspirations and dreams. And I can not wait to see you achieve that. We talked about being a better guest, knowing the listener, what they care about, they care about themselves, not you. You shared other people's podcasts because you got value, not because they talented talked all about how cool they are. And you are sure that you want to share your story, but you want to make sure that it's also relevant to the listener. You talked about getting clear on who's listening, like before you become a guest on a podcast, getting clear on who's listening. You've talked about a couple of ways that we can do that. Either by doing our reconnaissance on our own going and looking at the email listening to a couple of episodes or simply just asking. If we couldn't figure it out through that way, just ask. You want to learn their biggest challenges? What is the listener going through? And that's going to be able to help you. And you've talked about your goal of being a guest on a 108 episodes. Nikki, that one thing is going to be one of the biggest things that grows your influence. If you're doing a 108 of your own episodes, that's good. But if you're doing a 108 on other people's podcasts, you're going to be hacking into all of these 108 networks, where they start loving you because you're just lovable, they head over to the podcast and learn from you with your upcoming two different podcasts..

"So if you want to be a good guest, some things you can easily do before you get on the show, get really clear and listen to a couple of episodes to do it, but get really clear on who would be listening to the show. Who's the audience of the show? And if you're not a 100% sure and you can't figure it out from the podcast website or things like that, ask the host before you hit record. Just say, hey, who is the show for? Like, what do you think that their biggest challenges are so that you can make sure that you're answering questions through that lens? And so I think that's incredibly valuable. I would also say be open and don't worry if you mess up. There are tons of podcast episodes where I'm like, I make up words. I'm like, I can't remember the real word for this, so I'm gonna make up a word right now and we're just gonna roll with it. Be yourself, don't worry if you mess up. And the more you guessed, the better you will be. I think one of the reasons why I love podcasting and I honestly feel like I improve dramatically because I not only was producing my own podcast, but I was a guest on other people's shows. And so this year, 2021, I have a goal of being a guest on a 108 podcast since I did a 108 episodes of my own show last year. I'm like, all right, let me see if I can do a 108 episodes on somebody like on different people's podcasts. And I feel as though having all of those things combined when you speak that often, you're going to get better. So true. I like the part specifically where you said that the listener really cares about themselves for the most part. I know you're listening now and you're like, did Adam just call me selfish? Yeah, I did. I did. I'm also selfish and Nikki probably is too a little bit..

"And those are the same people that ultimately, not all of them, but a lot of them, I've reached out to write endorsements for my book and different things like that. So I would tell my earlier self, it's not all about the direct sale. I must talk about myself and then get people to buy. It's so much bigger than that. And there are so many more opportunities. And I'd probably tell myself to implement systems and structures earlier because man, that's been a game changer and to write blog posts for every podcast episode or something like that or even the transcript. We're now retroactively doing a lot of this stuff and let me tell you when you have a hundred and something episodes. It's a real pain in the butt to go back in time and build a blog post for them. I got 5 things, no 6 things. 6 amazing things from Nikki Nash. Nikki. I need to bring you onto the podcast more often because it's like I can ask you any question. And you'll give it into a succinct like, do this, then this, then this and this. Or these are the 5 things, or these are the four things, or these are the 6 things. I love it. As far as asking Nikki, what would you tell yourself if you had to do it all over again? One, I would have started three and a half years earlier. Two. You get better over time. So give yourself grace. Three. Have a clear idea of your why behind the why. What are you doing this podcast for? Four. Number four, other benefits, other tangible benefits. It's not just a direct sale. You are connecting with people. You're having fun, your networking. You can your learning from other people, et cetera. Number 5, I would have created systems and structures way earlier. And number 6, I would have done more marketing. Blog posts and transcripts from the get go. Awesome, awesome advice. Nikki. Where do you want to take your podcast? What's your ultimate goal? I know you're starting a new podcast eventually that's called Nikki Nash. Show and I know that you bought that domain before this comes out or else you're in big trouble. And so you've got this second podcast. What is your whole plan with all this? Like you said, know your why behind the why. Know why you're doing this, where are you going? Yeah, so there are two answers to that question. And the first I will say is kind of like the big, big picture. And what I've really realized up about myself, I always go back to when people would ask me, what do you want to be when you grow up or more importantly when I was in corporate? If you weren't doing this, what would you do? And my answer was always that I would be some sort of combination of Oprah and Kelly ripa. Like I would have a TV show, I would interview people. I would bring transformation and different things to the world. Business growth things along those lines. And so for me, I see myself in the future as being somebody who does TV podcast books. I'm a content creator at my core. And so I see myself having more than one podcast having a TV show and writing a bunch of books. And so that's my big vision picture for that. In terms of the market your genius podcast and where I'm going and this is early, so people are getting some early insight. One of the big changes we made in 2021 is I started doing episodes in series. And so I would, for example, an Adam, you're gonna be in this one when we record our episode. I'm doing a series on podcasting..

"Wow, right now I'm probably at one 45 or one 50. Somewhere around there. Amazing. So by the time this comes out, we'll just say over a 150 episodes that you've recorded, published and aired on your podcast. Very high percentage of people that start podcast, Nikki. They quit at 6. So I wonder what did you do differently to avoid that pod fade? Oh, avoiding the pod fade. Okay, so first thing is first, I learned really quickly what I could and could not do. And so the first three episodes of the show, I recorded and edited myself. And I hated everything about that. I was like, this is terrible. Because that's not where my skill set is. I'm like, I can talk into a microphone. I had that set up. I am interestingly enough had the mic, you know, I have a blue Yeti, but I bought it maybe two, three years before I started my podcast. I probably purchased it with the intention of starting a podcast that never started it. So I figured it was a sunk cost and I just start using it. But I then used I think audacity to start editing the first couple episodes of the show. And I recorded the first three or so, and you released them, ideally, right away. And so because I had recorded them a decent amount before they were due to air, I realized I can't edit my podcast. So I then searched for somebody to do it for me. So lesson number one for me was know what you are good at and what you're not gonna be good at because I knew that if I were editing each episode, there was no way I was making it past episode 6 because I just burnt out after episode three. So that was number one. And then the other things that I've discovered that have allowed me to really be consistent. I would say is one when I hired that editor, I gave them permission to call me out if they didn't have an episode in time. All the recordings and time for them to edit the show. And so what would happen is I was recording each episode a week at a time. And so if it was due if my episodes now released on Tuesdays, if it was releasing on Tuesday, I probably on Friday or Saturday, they was like, oh, crud, I forgot to record a podcast episode. And then it wouldn't give my editor. They would do it, but if I missed something, it didn't give them enough time. So I put in systems and structures to say episodes have to release on Tuesdays..

"To Nikki Maduro, evacuation of thousands of people from combo Is going to be hard and painful, no matter when it started when we began. Would have been true if we had started a month ago. Or a month from them. There is no way to evacuate this many people about pain and loss of heartbreaking images You see on television. And that, of course, is President Biden addressing the nation once again on Sunday as he tries to navigate the US withdrawal from Afghanistan as the world watches Joining me now is ABC News, White House correspondent Karen Drivers. Karen, another press conference. What does this say about how Biden feels about his decision? Yeah, I think In some ways, it's maybe reflecting that They understand the criticism. They've been getting just for the optics. Forget just, you know, the actual how the process is played out. But, yeah, This is supposed to be a vacation week for the president and steady state at the White House. He's going to go to Delaware for the weekend. He stayed at the White House. So he gave those remarks on a Sunday and took questions from reporters, which had only done once last week, So I think they're trying to get him out in front of this more. And we heard a very familiar message from him yesterday that he Has said. You know, this has been a consistent position for him that the United States should we drop in Afghanistan. But in terms of the criticism they're getting for how this has played out. There's a lot of focus from the president and senior officials on the efficiency, they say of the evacuation effort. We learned today that in the past 24 hours 16,300 people have been evacuated. Going back to last weekend. August 14th. The U. S has evacuated 37,000 people out of Afghanistan. So that's one thing the president was emphasizing and the message The White House would like to be the headline, Not some of the chaos that we're seeing and continues outside the airport area. Yeah. I mean, I don't know how many people actually thought it was going to go completely smoothly. But what do we know about troops staying past Biden's self imposed August 31st deadline. Yeah, this was I think a headline from him yesterday. He said that the August 31st deadline is now under discussion that the senior officials at the White House and the military are talking about potentially extending that, he says the hope is that it will not have to be extended, but it will depend on how far along the U. S is in that evacuation process. And you know those numbers. I just gave you 37,000 people evacuated since last weekend. We don't have a sense from the administration because it's not Sense. How many people total are looking to get out is 37,000 half of the number they need to move 90%. That's not clear, And I think that's a big question that the administration is going to be getting asked over the next couple of days as at August 31st deadline gets closer. Alright ABC News White House correspondent Karen Travers in Washington. Thank you so much for your time. Thanks so much. Yeah, And then we will, of course, be closely watching what's happening in Afghanistan. We are also closely watching this developing news today. Our fingers crossed that it's going to happen where a full FDA approval could possibly calm with the Pfizer vaccine, and I believe we will have a special report and then we'll open up the phone lines. Will this make a difference for 15? 80 88 10? This is a special report from ABC News. I'm Brian Clark. The FDA has given full approval to fighters Covid 19 vaccine..

"Of the most striking things that just jumped out at me all the way through your writing and and writing about you and all the way to the latest volume of poetry published in two thousand thirteen is how from the very beginning you were held and cherished and taught by courageous loving women <hes>. Your mother you were named your first name as yulon right yeah. It used to be when when mommy passed i <hes>. I had it legally changed the nikki. Just because that's what everybody knows me. I would have never done when mommy was here. I wouldn't. I wouldn't want her to think i didn't want to carry her name. I'm rhonda junior. So how old were were you when you change your name legally ben mommy's been dead ten years so sixty two something like that sixty three years old. And how do you say your grandmother's name. Lavinia lavinia lavinia lavinia. Emma lou watson. Also that you were all sounds like foodies before the the word had been invented. Oh grandmother was a foodie and grandmothers. Friends were foodi. And of course i ended up. Living with grandma not ended up but <hes>. Was was fortunate to live with grandmother. so <hes> mommy was a good cook because she was grandmothers daughter and <hes>. My on an was a good cook <hes>. Living with grandmother <hes>. And i learned all of their tricks. My favorite was of course greens. And i'm still still still working on that because working making greens is one of life's difficulties. Just clean them and stuff. Well mommy mom and grandmother to you pull than to tie the stems and you put the leaves in and he uses stems to flavor and then you pull it out and so she was very good at that but the other thing. I was laughing and laughing about this. You didn't ask him about this. But in grandmother's day you know used to go the market and you bought a live chicken. Actually grandpa did the the marketing and he would bring it home and they put it in the backyard and then grandmother would go out saturday morning and we its neck but you learn to learn to do that and i guess i have learned to. It's something that i'm dealing with on another kind of level but for something to live something else usually dies. There's there's a transition is not something. I would have been able to even to say to you at <hes>. Even fifty years ago my twenties. I wouldn't have it it's really <hes>. It's been interesting <hes>. You reported in nineteen forty. Three's that right <hes>. And yes and you so you grew up in a i like this. You talk a lot about what we call the sixties what is called the sixties which which you really date from about nineteen fifty four to nineteen sixty eight <hes>. Which was such a dramatic moment. I mean a lot of transition. I mean you've just been using that word one question. I ask people whoever been talking to you as you know how. Would you describe the religious and spiritual background of your childhood. And i wonder how you would start to talk about that. And i really mean the fullness of that you know that that your family but also that world do you came into <hes>. I i grew up of course <hes>. Baptist baptist mount zion baptist church but when when mommy married <hes>. My father married we call them gusts because daddy gus. When mommy may gust they moved to cincinnati. Because he couldn't get a job he was college graduate. He couldn't get a job in knoxville and so they moved to cincinnati where he could get a job and mommy joined the <hes>. Ame church but if we're just going to just kinda breeze on religion without getting into anybody's business you know. I recently have been fascinated with. Wyatt is that we don't actually look into the manger more. We always look at the cross. And i think that one of the problems with the manger is that we have to mary credit for bringing god to earth and <hes>. The book that i'm working on right now actress called a good cry and it's just because <hes>. Realize women keep a lot of things in them. I do know this for married. I'm gonna give credit having a baby hurts. I don't care who it is. A weird came from having a baby hurts. So i wanna give mary her. Craps and i also want to deal with the fact that as we are giving this birth part of the christian religion is supposed to do is give birth to a new human being you. Ask one kind of question. I don't know if i'm answering it. Strangely no but great. I think this question lands wherever in us. It wants to begin voice. I mean you you also want said you you said jos. Think it must have been a woman who developed the spiritual. Oh gosh when we look at savored which actually slavery is only going to be the end result. We have to look at the kidnapping in africa. We have to look at no matter. What the country. We have to look at the fact that somebody's sold and somebody purchased an and that just cannot be denied. We we're upset of course with the europeans because we say oh they create a slavery they might have but they didn't create the buying and selling of human beings that that had been going on for quite some time all over so we had the people coming across that ocean not knowing where they were going but knowing whatever it was they were not going to go back to where they used to be so somehow another. They had to make a decision. How do we go forward. But it had to be a woman because we're back to the manger we back to marry. We're back to this when women do it had to be a woman who said i need to settle my people down and when you consider there were a lot of languages. Going on yeah. She didn't speak english at that point. They didn't speak. Why healy at that point. They were in many languages. The only common language is going to be <hes>. So when we get to going to ultimately become the united states these people had created a way to speak to themselves to each other through the language to spare chose. Yeah so when you were twenty five you road. I'm twenty five years old. A revolutionary poet. I- love seth. I want to ask you about the. The i love tacked on at the end of the sentence but i also want to ask you about what you meant at twenty five when you said you'll revolutionary poet and how you hey you look at that now as nikki.
