Lightning win Game 5, deny Avs chance to take Stanley Cup

"The lightning pulled it within three games to two by topping Colorado three two Tampa Bay center Steven stamkos As good as it feels to extend the series you know we realize how hard we had to work to get that tonight and we're gonna have to replicate that at home The bolts went ahead for good on a third period goal by Andre pilat His no nonsense drive from the slot came at 1338 and went 5 hole past Darcy Kemper It was just easy shot for me I was just trying to one time it and lucky enough when Tampa Bay never trailed in this game leading one nothing in two one thanks to goals from January and Nikita Khrushchev valerian registered a goal and an assist for Colorado Bruce Morton

Why Has Russia Set Their Sights on Kyiv? Konstantin Kisin Explains

"Let's start with trying to cast away illusions as to what's going on. I've heard from those who have connections to the region that it's not obvious. Not all ethnic Russians in Ukraine are pro Vlad and not all ethnic Ukrainians are ready to grab an AK and shoot Russians. It's more complicated than that. Will you explain why Ukraine? Why the mythos of rodina of the motherland of rouge people is so intimately tied with Kyiv. This isn't just stopping EU and NATO membership for zelensky. This is a deeply historically and the nation itself has deep propaganda value for the Kremlin does it not. Well, the history of Russia of the modern Russian state originally dates back to the 9th century when a bunch of Vikings came over and they started essentially a trading post or a colony in what now since then has become Kyiv. And that is where the entire history of that part of the world originates from. And since then there have been various historic shapes, shape shifting and changes and borders and all sorts of things. And Ukraine has always been a piece that has been disputed by a bunch of local empires, whether that was the Russian Empire, whether it was the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, where there was Poland, all of these nations had had an influence in that region. And Ukraine had always been fought over by the different sides. But of course, there are other things and one of the reasons I was able to predict that the invasion would happen that it wouldn't be limited to the two breakaway so called breakaway regions in the east was because Vladimir Putin told us exactly how he sees it and I encourage all of your viewers and listeners to go and find a good translation of the speech he gave on the eve of the invasion. Because in it, he lays out exactly his vision and his vision is very simple. He believes that at some point during the existence of the Soviet Union, weak leaders like Vladimir Lenin and Nikita Khrushchev and others made a series of weak decisions that split the Russian people that split off a piece of the Russian nation and glued it together as he says with portions of what used to be Poland and Hungary in the

Or maybe <Speech_Male> even the people that you've <Speech_Male> talked to like these conversations <Speech_Male> maybe <Speech_Male> house. <Speech_Male> How important is it to <Speech_Male> be around other artists <Speech_Male> and other creatives <Speech_Male> to kind of <Speech_Male> stimulate <Speech_Male> that fellowship <Speech_Male> in that community. <SpeakerChange> How important <Speech_Female> for you. <Speech_Female> I think it is <Speech_Female> really important. <Speech_Female> I think Right <Speech_Female> before the pandemic. <Silence> I was actually <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> at sort <Speech_Female> of put more time <Speech_Female> into my art. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> The year leading up <Speech_Female> to the pandemic outside <Speech_Female> of my job <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> and whenever <Speech_Female> i had gotten <Speech_Female> the <Speech_Female> opportunity to do events <Speech_Female> in which i met <Speech_Female> other artists in baltimore <Speech_Female> and dc. <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> It did so much for me. And <Speech_Female> i felt <Speech_Female> energized for and <Silence> i think it is <Speech_Male> <Speech_Female> It is really important to me <Speech_Female> because that is how <Speech_Female> you grow. <Speech_Female> In terms of <Speech_Female> having people <Speech_Female> you look up to and <Silence> feel mentored by <Speech_Female> <Speech_Male> And feel <Speech_Music_Female> supported by <Speech_Female> and vice <Speech_Female> versa. <hes> <Speech_Female> i think that's <Speech_Female> i wish <Speech_Female> i had a little bit more of <Speech_Female> that <hes> <Speech_Female> during this time <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> And i'm <Speech_Female> trying to make that happen for <Speech_Female> myself. you know. <Speech_Female> Virtually if if not <Speech_Female> you know not possible <Speech_Female> in person. So i <Speech_Female> think it's really important <Speech_Male> to be part of <Speech_Female> a community support <Speech_Female> each other <Speech_Female> especially in a time where <Speech_Female> you <SpeakerChange> really need <Speech_Male> that mutual aid. <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> I think that's the <Speech_Male> thing that's even like missing <Speech_Male> sometimes. Think <Speech_Male> is <Speech_Male> this community <Speech_Male> here. <Speech_Male> I think sometimes. <Speech_Male> And <Speech_Male> i have my own is <Speech_Male> all right. <Speech_Male> I'm not even emerge. <Speech_Male> I'm just outside <Speech_Male> tan gentle <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> I think it's one of those things <Speech_Male> where <Speech_Male> it's <Speech_Male> it's a community but also <Speech_Male> cliquish at the same <Speech_Male> time and <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> that's a little <Speech_Male> bit of an issue <Speech_Male> because <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> often say is <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> i talked to. Everyone <Speech_Male> and <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> i mean there's a <Speech_Male> lot of t that spilled <Speech_Male> after this might goes <Speech_Male> off. I'll say that <Speech_Male> much <Speech_Male> <SpeakerChange> learn <Speech_Male> so much. <Speech_Female> Yeah i guess <Speech_Female> it's always a downside <Speech_Female> of a <Speech_Female> small place small <Speech_Female> community. <Speech_Female> I have <Speech_Female> not yet gone to the wind <Speech_Female> baltimore. But i'm still <Speech_Female> kind of growing and learning <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> but i've seen that with small <Speech_Male> <Advertisement> Places <Speech_Male> <Speech_Male> corruption. we're gonna make <Silence> sure you know by <SpeakerChange> all the t- <Speech_Female> oh <Speech_Female> yeah. No i i look <Speech_Female> forward to it kind <Speech_Female> of even odell stress <Speech_Female> medal bit <hes> <Speech_Female> dramas <Speech_Female> but <Speech_Female> <Speech_Female> Yeah no i <Speech_Female> think that that is <Speech_Female> that <SpeakerChange> sort of comes <Speech_Female> with it <Speech_Female> unfortunately <Speech_Female> for better for <Speech_Female> worse

"Fiction writers who are book their books. I've read frequently. So one of my favorite authors are not roy who also does a lot of nonfiction. And i literally just like you know. Try to honor them by painting their portraits And that sort of me often and intersection of art and writing so that's that's an example In terms of songs i'm listening to lately I'm kind of one of those people that kind of listens to one artists obsessively for six months and then move onto something else. You kind internalize that person One i've been one person. I've been listening to you for a long time. It's a nikon and his favorite song from him as kind of changes in the season. But let's just say. If i was trying plug one song that you listened to should be tendering by nikon. Yeah i'm gonna. I'm gonna look this up. Would've put on a check it out and we'll talk further about that so ultimately Have a few more questions in his one. That's the the the the headache question. I like to call. It is to question as people run away some very baltimore unit. Question okay So what do you enjoy doing. When you're you're not working. I would imagine it's in that that reading space. Maybe in the fictional being a nature walk. What are some of the things you like to do outside of your creative stuff and outside of the day job obviously i. I love coffee shops. I mean. I can't go to them as much in baltimore given the pandemic but i love all the small businesses baltimore in like following them and just being on just like feeling part of the community by going to them. So maybe that's probably what it. That's what i do in my spare time. It's like go out and eat. Burma bakes on get coffee. Not so much anymore That the ad. That's what i do in my spare time. I guess is is funny. You'd say that. I had allie on from bramble bakes recently. And she's doing a custom birthday pie from my partner because she does not like cake. So we're doing something special for her. It's gotta be pie. And so yeah bramble. Bakes review was really cool and it was good to learn more about that business. So have you take your coffee. "I'm currently facing an as an artist I think as an emerging artist I think i'm going through face. The probably live artists. Go through. And i think i'm sort of flailing little on my own or it feels that way i think just because i don't have a specific i didn't go through an institution in terms of getting an mfa or an arts degree in kind of something to kind of structure my thinking around how should approach this button. You know my biggest challenges like finding my niche I as i guess like multidisciplinary person i. I don't want to scrap any of the ideas that i have no matter how different they are or you know kind of not willing yet to kind of pick one theme of subject or medium and stick with it But also knowing that that is something that is expected of me In order to to to go from emerging to established i think in the long term So but i think the. I think that's where getting not having your creativity beer. Primary profession can come into it in terms of like you can be you can do whatever you want creatively. It doesn't have to be to stick to something. I think if it's not something that you're trying to to rely on for Escape income i. I knew that. I really admire just. Because i think the the work this associated with a you're living it when someone has more than one thing like when someone is a multi instrumentalist or someone's like. Yeah i rap. But also i do actually do close or i'm actually a painter. I'm an accomplished painter. And and it's like you know you've got multiple things league. How do you find the time. I admire from that standpoint. Tell me about your process on a steal. It and i look at it from from that perspective so i think sometimes like finding that niche is important but i think that's one of the people that do i think you just create. I think that's i think that's what you'll find. Yeah no that's that's true. And i when i see people like that when you're doing multiple that way and i'm like wow you're really living life to the fullest. I think that a lot of people want it's like how do i feel like my worth my life. Was you know worth it. When i'm old and kind of looking back on it. So let's talk about influence influences a little bit but i'm going to frame this in a weird way because it most a weird my way. I think we're on this page. Wow.

"It's always been a part of my life Yeah and so. I always found ways to try and incorporate into what i was doing like a in middle school. I absolute like i took the route like in order to take an art class yet to take the. There's like a combo class you to take before as a prerequisite drama and are something else that is music or something and i'm just like i will deal with this other stuff that i can do. The art part and then continued to Took art classes all the way through high school. so yeah it's always been a part of my life. And i think the challenge has just been like you know when you have a day job or when you have a the field whatever field. You're in having time and the combination of like an energy and creativity to kind of make it happen for yourself. But i realized that like whenever i think back at the end of every year like what did they do in this year. That made me feel like it was worth it. I was just like really only the things that i created. You know like the drawings that i made her the writing that i did In whatever capacity so. I was like okay. I need to prioritize this this. This conversation with my partner regularly who i was remiss in a did not acknowledge her. She's written three of the issues of the calming another seven but definitely be much of a collaboration. Have bounced off of her. And he's a writer by tree and but she also has a data job and she's just like i need to find a way to balance these things because one is paying me this lifestyle and being able to afford ridiculous typewriters. 'cause you know writers and things like that and i arrived at that space at a long long long time ago like i wanna say Maybe when i started as podcast i knew that the day job was the took fun..

"If that's the goal they hold yourself accountable for input your time towards it so i wanna finish it. I wanna finish. Because i like watching movies and haven't seen in a while so creativity a very broad sense Do you think is something someone is born with or something that is developed over over time I think it can be both. I think that you can't just have one. I think it needs to be something that should be nurtured and encouraged I think especially when you're young. I read about how you know. Kids are naturally very creative and then as they got older. Oftentimes it's kind of narrow down or put into a box and you know from personal experience. I actually grew up with parents who wanted the best for me. They wanted me to have A stable life and they worked hard for that and so my dad was very much like You know you can't do. You can't do it as a job like it's not a real job and so kind of like which probably is one of the things First and then kind of like trying to do this second or kind of evolving into that. So i think that nurtures important probably more important than than what might you might think to nature thing. Think for for me. I kinda ran into a thing when i was younger. Because you're the first person has answered it that way. By the way many times i've i've asked you gotta have you'd be born with it. I was like all right. I guess in it. I i agree with you. I think it's both Like i i used to sketch and draw in all of this stuff. And i remember years My relatives with oh get them off supplies. Here's colored pencils here's like Drawn manuals and things like that. And at the time i was. I'm going to be a comic book artists and an astronaut. Because i was a child and that didn't really make sense but it was always that early on. I knew i wanted. I knew this was something that i like in. Its as i've gotten older like how can i create something. How can i do something that i think is representative of me and a creative kind of space. Yeah and i think that. I think it's totally true that you can be born with talent but just because you're born with a certain type of scale that's not the only thing that makes up creativity and it's something that can be suppressed are nurtured in different ways in eighteen o creativity of many different things. You can be creative in different fields queue. So i i stand by what i said. You're right. I mean i'll see it for you.

We're having we had a little bit of a A little bit of a back and forth about this kind of outsider. Artists vibe thing. So let's talk about your work a little bit. Describe your word. Let's let's just go into high level. Because i'm well your level but i gave a really high level. Pov on us so get into from your perspective. Yeah yeah so i would. I would call myself in emerging artist. And i'm not really affiliated with any institution menem mostly self tied and really take art classes past high school. So i'm still trying to explore that and my background is in public health so You know coming from a research staff into wanting to do more work in In communicating public data through visualization. Because i did some design work with my former position as a research staff member. But you know wanting to really dedicate a lot more time to that and bring this design element into it more Because wanting to make information works especially in the context of this kind of And in terms of my illustrations and artwork Identify as a indian american woman. Who is the daughter of immigrants. And you know i have several different things but really trying to explore immigrant identities one of my my key ones. That's good i think. That's that's important in this. This weird kind of a period where people are realizing that there are other people here. Other people have stories and other people are people. I think that is important to just have it. Just it there. And i try to do that in this. Podcast is like pretty much. Anybody should be able to pop up on this podcast and speak their truth. That's what i aim to accomplish in just kind of picking out somebody guests and slotting in a different folks deums and not.

"Could be like like oh like we offer you the and say okay instead of saying we can offer this this and this if it reaches this one point that's better for you not the it's not that you're being greedy or anything like that but it it makes more sense if you negotiate with something like something lesser than starting with something. Big and i know are at the beginning. It's kind of the first thing is like you were all your cards at them. And so that the best way to do it because if they say we want to more you're going to give them but if he's slowly work your way up and even if you're offering them the same amount of stuff fuel so much different it's kind of like the idea like your burdens climbing trips on you feel so much different when you're working your way up and you get a good deal or this person could just like you could start off at a good deal and keep that good deal with the same thing's happening but you feel like the person feels like they're getting a better deal that like the way of working their way up to the deal instead of giving business it's business nikita shown through this interview but can you comment especially being at the beginning of a career is the difference between character and career some people tend to strive for a career and not really care much about the character that they bring with it while other people which seems like you're starting off on the right foot is putting your character first and then going after your career as you always have the forefront of your mind what you should do that is right for the people that are involved. But i can't even remember a i'd probably viewed as important conversation. Some nice out every day someone calls me at three. Am in the morning so yeah you don't want that to be a habit nikita just thinking through the day that you just went through are you finding you have generally some pressure about your job or the things that you wanna do or do you find that you know you have a pretty balanced out news you know at regular teenager going through the things that you so choose to have in your schedule. I think it's a mixed like right now. I think it's fine but once we like a few weeks ago. If this was happening probably last week would cut a very different answer because we were in the process of wrapping up our thanksgiving stuff on our holiday stuff stuffing working all these different companies and managing oats. Here's our designs. And i wanna make you book as best as none. I think that it's been pretty fine. The month of like november's kind of hard because we just finished halloween This year's special we go onto our like election day season ends so we had a little outcrop in the beginning of the month in thanksgiving's right after the end the holidays right after that. We have business the sexual law science and engineering and things like that a theater and stuff so in the business they have this classical virtual enterprise where they basically company and they compete against other people or the world to make the most virtual money in this competition of sorts so those people are definitely getting that but in general i mean. I don't know that many people that have this program so that is tough to implement it through the whole world. Help not feel the need so does just about the pressure right that it seems like here of stories where you know in suicide and all those things because someone didn't like someone or some certain pitchers were shonen in just unfortunate if there is a way to get people to to separate themselves from the need of whatever it is that shallow satisfaction they're getting from those likes and follows and i think by what you're doing and what you said is by having your own business on there you realize it's it's not a. It's not a personal thing. It's you have something there that you can work on and then you can step away. It's i think it's great nikita. Do you have a Plan for after high school. Look at all this and like that's definitely one way to pursue try to do it fulltime. Definitely the idea of doing go to college in trying to do some more I don't want say more concrete because that's not the right way to say but some more technical or something like that kind of job.
